- Jaba: Hello everybody and welcome back to the Scout and the Speculator podcast. This is Will Jarvis, also known as Jabba Cards, joined as always by my handsome co-host, Jeremy Brown of Perfect Game Baseball, more importantly known as JGB underscore cards underscore, Mr. Double underscore himself. This is the third of our three episodes today, doing our weekly Bowman Chrome episode. Price check-ins. This is now week four, which is pretty crazy. but yeah, let's get right into it. We got the pictures here. This is probably gonna be a pretty brief one. Jeremy, Jheremy: Mm-hmm. Jaba: what are we what are we seeing here? Jheremy: I do think this is gonna be pretty quick. There's a not a lot of pitchers, and B, not a lot of pitchers moving the market here. Giovangio's gap from one to two, two being Zazweta is shrinking pretty quick. you've seen him go from a hundred to ninety-seven to seventy-one to fifty-seven. He's down almost fifty percent already. only nineteen sales on the redemption. I do think we'll probably start seeing a little bit more because there's confidence now that his stuff will ship now that we have seen everything Jaba: Yeah. Jheremy: live. From base autos all the way up to red autos. having a conf confirmation that those autos are gonna actually be fulfilled is huge in people's mindset. Also talking to some people, they just simply don't like buying redemptions online, which also makes sense, right? Like you don't fully always know. So I do get the hesitancy in buying a redemption. there should be no hesitancy in picking up some Zazueta. At 45 bucks, kind of Jaba: Yeah. Jheremy: a little high for a pitcher in double A. I get that he's right-handed. It is like if he was a lefty doing what he did, you always lean a little bit more towards the lefty just because. But that said, 45, you can get him lower than that. You can get him in the 30s. If you can get him in the 30s, I would grab a couple just to have him. He's a dodger. You can never go wrong with dodgers, right? So I'm gonna keep talking for one more second and just knock out the last double digit auto, which is Brandon Clark. we haven't seen him throw in the AFL just yet. When he does, I'm sure everybody will know because Jarlin Susana opened the thing and I think I saw 18 different posts from Pipeline saying he hit 104. So Jaba: Yeah. Jheremy: if Clark comes out and even scrapes triple digits, give me a hundred, maybe tickles a one one. Even if he sits in the upper nineties, that's something the AFL hasn't had a lot of. And being new to the product, I wouldn't doubt that you have some sort of a collab between tops and the AFL or Pipeline or something. Just to highlight what Brandon Clark can do on the mound. Jaba: Yeah. Jheremy: he he went from 39, and I think he probably opened even higher than that at base, down to 19, up to 20, back down to 1624. If you can find him for the price of two Dunkin' Donut meal deals, I would grab a couple. If you're not familiar with the Duncan menu, that's about $12, 13, 14 bucks with tax and everything else included. Those are kind of your big three arms. Do you have anything there that you want to add or subtract from what I said? Jaba: Not really. I think Zazueta, you know, we saw him go he was forty six last week. He's forty five here. I don't think he's gonna drop anymore. I mean maybe he'll get to forty, but I I'd feel completely comfortable saying he's a buy at forty five. I mean you look at other pitchers like Kendry Churio's like forty-five, he's a buy. Ianson's around sixty, he's less of a buy, but I still think that that's like a solid price. I think both Churio and Zazueta should be up at like sixty bucks. So you're not getting a crazy steal right now. But at the same time, Zazueta, he's gonna come out in spring training next year. God willing, there is a spring training. he's gonna strike some, you know, perennial all-star out. He's gonna be all over the internet. And you know, he probably won't make that rotation out of spring, but he should be up next year and when he is up, you know There's no reason to think he won't pitch well. Jheremy: Mm-hmm. Jaba: you know, Brandon Clark, like you said, you know, exactly what we said would happen would happen with Susana happened. That wasn't even like a crazy stretch. That's not me patting ourselves on the back. That's just, you know, how this market works. You know, you know it's gonna happen and you know the market's gonna react that way. And it's not too late to buy some Brandon Clark now, because that pop is gonna happen in the next week. Jheremy: Yep. Jaba: Cinjay at fifty seven. I'm staying away. I don't think it's a bad buy, but as long as he's above Zazueta, I don't care if it's because of redemptions or whatever. just can't justify that. I would like a piece or two of Cinche because I think he's fun. And I think he's also another guy who's gonna be viral, but I'm fine, you know, waiting. And then yeah, Talon Jheremy: Yeah, but Jaba: Halley, still no still no true color. Jheremy: None. Jaba: weird. Andre Hidalgo, they're both at 667. Which is pretty funny, 'cause those are the two we love, and they're at the same exact price down to the cent. you know. I think we've continued buying both of them. Haley, there's not a lot of good stuff to buy, like we said, no true color, not even like refractors. Hidalgo, we've still been buying a little bit. And Jheremy: Mm-hmm. Jaba: yeah, I mean these bottom names is what it is. I think Sean Paul Linyon at a dollar forty six. I mean, he is in the Yankees system, he's a national on the card, he's also not that good, but You know, at one forty six if i if you have it, like don't sell it for a dollar. That's stupid. you know, just hang on to it and hope something happens next year. But yeah, I mean really not a lot of action here. kind of a Jheremy: There's not, but Jaba: lot of the same stuff we said last week. I think Haley and Hidalgo, if you can get at five bucks or better, I think you just build a war war chest. Jheremy: So that's what I was trying to do last night with Hidalgo. There's a bunch ending on quick consign, and all of his base autos went between nine and eleven dollars, which I love to see and hate to see having a stash in front of me already. that there are people up. Maybe they had the same idea of like, look, you crack shipping and you can just buy a bunch of them. But like the purples went for 15, 18 bucks, I think. The base autos cracking double digits. So if that's like a trend that moves forward, because there was volume too. I think there were five or six of them that ended last night. that's only gonna help the market. I hope I have enough where I'm content where I'm at. like you said, Talon Haley, still no true color. I don't, I I'm done beating that horse because I don't know if there's any more out there. And yeah, that's kind of all I really have. I've I picked up a couple Kanar Martinez, I have some Argenis Kayama just to have some pieces of them. Wellington Arasenia, his color's cheap. Linen, I I could have got a true blue for like nine bucks. Kyle Carr, cheap. Kyle Carr, you can never go wrong though, Jaba: Yeah. Jheremy: because of the proximity of the big leagues as a Yankee. Jaba: Yeah, I agree. Jheremy: also this just might be a demographic within the product where you don't stretch, realize it's not there, don't go after it and kind of make it be you could make it be Zazweta or nothing, or go pick some of the low sub ten dollars like a Hidalgo, a Haley, a Kayama, and go from there. Jaba: Yep. Yeah. I don't really have much more to add, so I think we're good to wrap there. pictures are always gonna be a bit more of a brief one. But yeah, keep buying Andre Hidalgo and thank us later. You got anything else? Are you good? All Jheremy: I'm good. Jaba: right. Well, thank y'all for listening. We love ya, we appreciate ya. And let's go Mets, let's go Desert Dogs, all that good stuff. Really Jheremy: Sigueros, javalinas, all the all the games. Jaba: Yeah. it's like a mad lib. Alright. Thanks guys. Bye.
