- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to it.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_01]: You got to hit the right buttons.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I was filling it.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: I was filling it.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do that to me, Larry.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: I know, serious, what happens?
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Damn, take two, take two, damn it.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: Often running on the crew show, and of course, John Shatt and Rico streaming tonight on both channels.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: The peppers have been a great one.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for joining us.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate you being here.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Niners Titans go tomorrow nights, really eager to talk about that with John.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: We're brought to you by Nevada Chevrolet as well, Nevada Chevrolet.com.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm driving a traverse now.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you to Nevada Chevrolet.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I'm about out ladies.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm driving the traverse and it's it's a big vehicle.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'll say that it's, you know, it's not one of those.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: one of those, you know, smaller vehicles, it's a good size vehicle.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: There's no question about that.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: And we should tell you the crew shows presented by price picks.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: America's number one sports picks, app price picks, it's super simple.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Just pick more or less on player stats or choose game outcomes, build your lineup.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's available in most states, including California, price picks as a brand new offer, sign up with code HMA, play $5 in a lineup and get 150 in bonus lineups.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: If you're first
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: or more and get $150 bonus line ups if your first line up is victorious and we'll do a line up later on tonight.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: But let's just get right into it.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners and Titans go tomorrow night, two teams in going in dramatically different directions you would think, 40 Niners are a team that would
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it feels like they should have already won a super bowl and it hasn't happened and they're trying to get that done titans are in there in the year 10 of the regime.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: The titans are coming off of a pair of three and 14 seasons.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: They have a GM and Mike for Gonzi, who came in from Kansas City.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people thought he was going to hire Matt Nagy and steady hired Robert Solah and Solah brought in Brian Daybol, who's got 26 years of NFL coaching experience, fossil John Fossils, the special teams coordinator, Solah brought in Gus Bradley to be the
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: And year two of the Cam Ward era gets underway tomorrow night at Levi's.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to talk Niners and in the issues facing the Niners, we've got a five topics we're going to hit in an hour tonight before we call it a night, and let's start with left guard.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: Left guard is interesting.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's beginning to camp.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: It was Connor Colby and people were talking about Connor Colby.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, McCivots is place feeds, noticeably fasteries, much better, you know, first or oh, he's dramatically improved.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby, Connor Colby, right about to the point where Matt Barrows is like, hey.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: The left guard race is going to Connor Colby, and it's not going to be all that close.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to win it in a landslide.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: Literally, I'm not saying it was a reaction to that article, but literally, as he was the ink wasn't even dry in that article, they took the yank to Connor Colby out of the starting line, it replaced him with Robert Jones.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: I asked Shanahan if it's a two horse race between Jones and Colby, and he said, no, he said, you know, we're trying to get Carver Willis in there as well, and now you get Colby
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: One other thing to think about is that if you are going to play, if Colby loses the starting guard job, he's going to have to be the backup guard.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: If he's the backup guard, he's going to have to be able to play right guard and left guard.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I think maybe what we're seeing is them giving him reps at right guard.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: Just in case he doesn't make the starting line-ups, we can still make the roster.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: So they have a versatile player.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: So we can have some reps there.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: But John, what do you see at left guard who, you know, the other thing that I think's notable is that Chris first you're told us weeks ago that there may not be one starting left guard and it may be a rotation, it may be a puttune.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't love the sound of that either, but
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: Give me your thoughts on, on, on left guard.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: So a lot of people think that the Niners starting left guard may not even be in this camp yet, that they mean he may be on the freeage market.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people talking Lake in Tomlinson and Kevin sightler and names like that.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think at left guard?
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: Who's going to be the left guard this year?
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're really upset.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody's walked away with this.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like you said, and you kind of set up, Larry, like Connor Colby was given the keys.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: They wanted him to show that he belonged there.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_02]: And he did.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_02]: And then pads came on.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: And then the cracks started to show day two.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: Good practice overall.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_02]: Day three gets a little rougher.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then like, all right, we gotta rotate.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like this might not be the answer.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_02]: and so then you bring in Robert Jones who has way more experience in his career.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: He's had bigger injuries, whatever else.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: He hasn't run away with that either.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: So there is this musical chairs at this and I thought it was interesting.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: We call Shannon and said, and we would like to get Carver Willis in there as well.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: perfect question by the way, Larry.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: He was the first one to bring up Carver Willis, when talking about this.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: Kubi acting Chris Forester didn't.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: So like this is not a new question and with this offseason being so weird.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: So many different coaches at the podium.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's kind of telling like, yeah, you want Carver Willis to be involved in this, but with the amount of time that he missed and he even put a caveat on it himself where he said, like, ah, you really wish
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that this is going to be one of the things to watch, don't pay so much attention to left guard play tomorrow against the Titans pay attention to just guard play in general because everybody besides Dominic Pune.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: you can plug and play them.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you can play them at right guard.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: You play them at left guard.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: Who's going to show out?
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: And this isn't the first time either that Forester has talked about rotating offensive linemen.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: It was at Compton and Jalen Moore who used to rotate for the right tackle spot.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was after McGlenshee got hurt.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they didn't it was a brun skill in somebody.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's done it a few times at a couple different positions.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, hey, let's see who the best man's going to win.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see what's going to happen.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's going to kind of be what it was because you look at Chris Forsyth, he'll rotate series.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: He'll give each guy two series.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: And then put the other guy in there and if somebody shows out at halftime, congratulations, you start the rest of the game.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: If you play well, you get the next game.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: Turn it into a meritocracy.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: Why not?
- 6:57[SPEAKER_02]: They want the functional fluidity to have utility players on the inside of the offensive line.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: 49ers always do that.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Carver Willis is ready.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think they want Carver Willis to be that guy, but I just think he's still too raw of a player to make that transition from left tackle to guard.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's taking center snaps.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's his eventual long-term placement, but they want somebody to win it.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_02]: And they're just sitting there just like dangling the cheese, man.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: Who wants this damn job?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: To the point where now you have to question who's on the roster and perhaps who's not as you said is the answer coming is the call coming from inside the house Larry can we get somebody.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: To win this left guard spot and I don't think it's going to be answered this week.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Connor Colby gets left guard snaps this week.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's been practicing almost exclusively at right guard this week.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think they flip it again next week or the following week.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we're getting kind of the answer here, but perhaps we get shown the light, why they're such an issue and why nobody's winning this left-guard spot.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's interesting.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: There's lots of different ways to play your hand.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a hand of cards.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like they really believe in Carver Willis.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now Willis was a left tackle at Washington, and he's also really, really smart.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: So just the fact that he played left tackle, he had enough movement ability in athleticism and played left tackle, and he's really, really smart.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: Seems like on paper, if that's really all you knew about him, he seems like a really good prospect.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: He has had the concussion situation already.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it might be in their best interest if if I mean there I mean after practice the other day I was walking off the field came in when it's like man Robert Jones sure looked dominating and I'm like, I don't know that if I saw that I don't think I saw him dominate but he thinks like he's a big physical you know guard that can open lane run lanes and first you're kind of said he's the best run blocker in option but I kind of feel like
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: Willis, I'm still a Colby fan, I like Colby and I would not be surprised if Willis got in their first and then if there was an injury to brendle, Colby got in there and it was Colby and Willis you know in there and they could be fixtures going forward.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: I can see it.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: I can see it.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I'm not one of those people that believe that Connor Colby can't do it.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's got 50
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he's, you know, he's gotten stronger, um, he's gotten faster.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I, I just, I think he's, he's well coached, I think he, I think he's a good prospect.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: I know he's gotten yanked here, but I don't know, you know, it's like, there's, there's a business side here too.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, then they give some probably some guaranteed dollars to Robert Jones.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like if Connor Colby just boat races him out of the shoot and just takes the job and he just Isn't somebody maybe going to ask questions like hey, why do we spend this money on Robert Jones?
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: I have to go look at what they spent on Robert Jones, but it is possible that they just want to You know give Jones a little bit more the look
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, give him a chance to, I mean, Shanahan, in the answer, basically said, hey, look, it's early in this deal and we got to see who plays well in the preseason.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's pretty much what he said.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I think all options are on the table.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think, you know, Willis is an option, Colby's an option.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt that Jones is an option.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I think trades, adding somebody from the outside is also probably going to be an option.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: And some people believe that's the option that they're ultimately going to go with.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: So it's wide open.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the real wide open races heading into this three game preseason slate.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: So there's no question about that.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: Let's let's talk a little bit about the fever line backer because the other interesting story here is that, you know, with Rehe Morris comes five
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a lot of people have never heard of, you know, hey, this guy's going to be our, our spinner, this guy's going to be the star linebacker and there's different phrasing the fever linebacker and it's really we're talking about the strong side linebacker.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: And it's really talking about the ability to walk somebody up on the line of skirmish from linebacker and basically turn it into a five-man attacking front.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so they've got some guys in camp, Dougher, Quentin Bell, Titus Leo, that are really athletic.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: And that they're really, they're really just rushers for the most part.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: But they're listed as linebackers, but they're really rushers.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: And it's really, it's, you know, they could play linebacker, but they're really out there to hunt the quarterback in a five-man front.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: So, Jayden Dugger, I think's gonna be one of the more interesting guys to watch.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's the youngest guy in the team, John.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: And yet, we asked Warner about him, he loves him, KJ, right, loves him.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's getting run with the ones the other day.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's clearly impressing them.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's the one guy when they drafted Jayden Dugger.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: I was just like dude put this guy in edge
- 12:30[SPEAKER_02]: Come on man, look at the metrics, like the off ball tapes rough.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: You go to Louisiana.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I only had one year as an off ball, Mike linebacker.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: He's got to play, you know, kind of with concrete feet, little slow to read whatever else, but I'm just like, man, put this guy at edge.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, at this, again, fever.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: We used to call it the Panther Backer, whatever I coach, but like, star, Panther, whatever this hybrid.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: Do it all type guy.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: man, this is going to be fun to watch because it's Nick Martin going to, you know, play a shenanigans said not a lot of starters are going to be out there tomorrow, but it's Nick Martin, the clear cut starter.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's been with the ones pretty much exclusively.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: Jayden Tucker got some reps there.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_02]: Shoot, there was one point when Fred Warner got kind of mixed up a little bit.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: Larry, worth was out there.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: You're dude, like there's a lot of guys that they could throw in this spot.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: Garrett, while those gotten play there, obviously.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: Gifford's got like a lot of guys are getting snaps there.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: But at the top end, Nick Martin, what's that going to look like?
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: Jayden Dugger, what's that going to look like?
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: This is the new kind of spice.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_02]: that 49er's fans have not seen under the last three defensive courties, probably shoot five.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: You want to go back to the first time Saul, Sola, Demico, Ryan's will soar and said back to Sola, five defensive courties.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: You have not seen this.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: This is new.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: This is different.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: So going from one of the most simplistic defensive personnel packaging schemes, uh, the Robert Sola,
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Now it's much more complex up front.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: So that's going to be kind of fun to see.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder how much they're going to kind of show their hand.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: What that's going to look like.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not expecting a lot of stunts and a lot of, you know, fire zones and all that stuff.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: But I do want to see, I want to see that to walk up a line of scrimmage and to see what it looks like.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think Nick Martin's going to win that job to start this season.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: But man,
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: How are you not excited about Jayden's record?
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like you talked about the youngest player on the squad, dudes got potential coming out of his ears, Fred Warner's just like, when they asked Fred Warner about him, he said love three times at three sentences.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Fred Warner understands what they have in this kid, can he put it together?
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: And whenever they asked him in Ramello height, like what's the one problem that you've had or what have you been, what's been a struggle, learning so many different spots, that's the one area where I'm just like, man, can they divulge all the information, go out and execute, I'm pumped about this position, man.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: And when the 49ers are out there on defense, I'm watching that Nickelback, I don't think we're going to see up and shout out there, but I want to see the backup Nickelbacker, and I want to see this number three linebacker, what that looks like.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: I hear you.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: I hear you.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, it's funny.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's like we're not the only ones that are curious what it's going to look like.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: I asked Chris Kassarik the other day.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm my Chris.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Dougher has a russia, you know, what do you think?
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: What's your evaluation?
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: He was practicing with the D-line the other day.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: I said, what do you think?
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, man, he's got some band.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's got some burst.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: And let's throw him out there and see what he's got.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's what he said.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and that's, I think that's his honest is the day is long, man.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's got some band, he's got some burst and you know, let's see, you know, it's like he's going to be way out there, rushing the passer and he's got a lot of length and a lot of speed, great motor.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: And it's tough to rush the passer in this league, especially as an undersized guy, but you know what, this guy's got 85 inch length and really, really good athleticism.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: And some of the film that I saw at Louisiana,
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, somebody who's highlight reels, I mean, he's just shot out of a cannon.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: It tackles so well.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, just some rangey backer.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: There's some tall line backers in the NFL, but don't have any tall line backers that are true rangey line backers.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: And this kind of looks really rangey.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's an interesting spot for sure.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm interested to see what Nick Martin looks like.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm interested to see what Larry worth the third, like, looks like.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of think they have something in Larry worth the third.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's very confident.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: He strikes people hard.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's obviously a special team guy and he's got a lot to learn because he's a converted safety.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: But this guy converts speed to power and I think he's going to fly around and make plays.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: Really eager to see what he looks like.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's going off the bus test.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: like, you know, whatever you're getting, you get the way game, like, who gets off the bus first?
- 17:09[SPEAKER_02]: Larry Worth, the third and Jayden Tugger, they're in your top five.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you guys are getting off the bus first because they're physically intimidating.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: They're mad and created characters.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Can they make an impact tomorrow?
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I want to see.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: I would say on the Niners, if you said who would get off the bus first, I would probably go with, well, just on personality, you know, Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, but I'm just look, I might go key on white and McCall Williams, or maybe key on white, oh, so Diggy Zua.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's some Oceo diggy zoos is a bad man.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: He was really mixin' it up quite a bit with their old line.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Oceo wasn't taking any, and he asks.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: You wanted him to kind of set the frame.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you're comin' from an opposing team, automatic guaranteed starter, leader of the defense.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like, do you belong here?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: And so as soon as Drake Greenlaw shows up, there's fights every other play.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: Oceo says, I'm about that business.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, like how beautiful is that?
- 18:16[SPEAKER_02]: Just the melding of the new guys, you know, Drake Greenlaw coming back when here last year, Osa first year here.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, he's about that business, man.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm from the south.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: I remember the bout about it days.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, he, Osa is in his prime and has looked like a ton on the practice field.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: All right, wide receiver, let's talk wide receiver, 49ers, wide receiving corps, Mike Evans, Debo Samuel, Desion Stribbling, Ricky Pierce all out for the year.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: Christian Kirk, yet to practice Jacob Cowling hasn't done squat on the practice field, but to Marcus Robinson is having an amazing camp.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Watkins has made some plays, Leonard Hankerson told us that Will Pauling is like his toughest receiver.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's never hasn't missed a block this entire time.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: He had a very productive career at Notre Dame.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really looking forward to him in the preseason.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's Wesley Grimes, who's, you know, where number 18, NC State, four three speed, big strong fast, and he looks very good on the practice field.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Why receiver?
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I can't imagine Evans is gonna play.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't imagine D-Bows is gonna play much.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think of the wide receiver crew this year?
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think that this game, like you're not gonna get the big names and Cowen ain't gonna practice either because this injury is still there.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: But I think like three guys that can gain the most from this preseason game
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: Those are the three guys that have the most again or most alus that are kind of, you know, in this bubble mentality, it may be Jordan Watkins is already in, but those are the guys, because you remember Jordan Watkins last year.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_02]: He was a training camp, freaking all star.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: gets to the first preseason game.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: Really, really good.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: Got entered.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't see him.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: Took him too long to get back.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: Never could get back on the depth chart.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_02]: But it was just like, Dude, Jordan Walkins looked incredible in training camp in his one preseason game.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_02]: So can he go back and show?
- 20:26[SPEAKER_02]: Look, he's about that business.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_02]: Go get it done.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm a Wesley Grimes guy.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: You and I talked about Wesley Grimes probably too much.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_02]: I like again, one of those off the bus wide receivers that just looks the part six two
- 20:40[SPEAKER_02]: fourth, three speed.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: You got to be kidding me.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_02]: Can will Pauling Wesley Grimes do enough to vault themselves ahead of somebody like a Jacob County, like a Christian Kirk who are not out there, not practicing.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: If they're not out there, that means there is a spot available.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: The snaps are going to be there tomorrow.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: Can they go out and capitalize because, again, you know, we haven't said this on today's show.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: Niners aren't playing their starters, but guess what?
- 21:09[SPEAKER_02]: Robert Solis said when asked who's playing in this preseason game, he said everybody's playing.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_02]: If Wesley Grimes and Will Paul, I can go put up some numbers against the Titan starters.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: Why not?
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: Why not these young guys with high upside, even though they're undrafted for agents, like understand these guys have major major upsides with special teams promise, which is how you earn that back into the roster spot.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: Jordan Walkins, Wesley Grimes, Will Pauling, those are the guys that I think I just have highlighted.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: a lot to gain tomorrow night.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: Listen to this.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: This is Hankerson.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: I asked Hankerson this question the other day about crimes.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: We had a little back and forth here.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: Leonard Hankerson former hurricane, wide receiver.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: Now the Niners, wide receiver coach.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: Leonard the uh,
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: crimes the the rookie at NC state.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: I watch and played it's hard to understand why I didn't get drafted.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's got four three speed.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's got great size.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: He seems pretty tough.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's got good hands.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: What are you seeing so far?
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: He looks pretty good on the practice field.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: You're saying he got four three speed.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do think that that document.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: I've read that he's got four three speed.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: I give him a lot of crap about it.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: Where is that for three three you know we met with him one so you know he told us we're gonna want it for three you know for three yeah four three five yeah four three five five yeah I got I got I got I got to tell them they came up yeah yeah but he's been doing a great job
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: back in, OTA, to get in with Grunge, you know, like every year, you know, swimming.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, so you not plan to that point, you know, by ability, you know, you're coming to thinking you're trying to get the offense, you know, it's time to figure out who I'm blocking, who's going to work right now, you know, so it's hard to incorporate this on really to take me, you know, what it takes to, you know, get over it, you know, and from that point of the day now, it's the least one of the number of jobs, you know, just being out there, I don't know how to line up, you know, you got this when we were around,
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: from position in position, you know, and he has been able to tell it to display his speed on tape, you know, and he just coming down with the catches.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's another guy that has strong aspirations.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he dropped two passes, one in one or once, by the date, and did nothing.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: I was more from rough hair.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I know it's a problem because he was wide open.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and usually you can tell when God got her against it, that's the best way to make a play as a natural, you know, and you can do something for them.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so there you go, a little bit of, uh, sorry for the boringness there, but a little bit of, uh, Leonard Hankerson, you know, think about him, John, about Grimes, is the nine or thought enough of this guy.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: They brought him in for a 30 visit before the draft.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: So they liked him, you know what I mean?
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: They were all over and before the draft.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's lined up outside and he's just physically gifted.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's big and fast and he looks good in the uniform and he can absolutely play.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he makes plays, he made a play down the field and you're just looking at him going, wow, this guy's got this is what an NFL wide receiver is supposed to look like.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he really does look the part of an NFL wide receiver.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see, I mean, he's got to do it in the preseason, he's got to make name for himself in the preseason, but yeah, I agree with you, Watkins, Pauling and Grimes.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: Sounds like a law firm.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, who represents, yeah, I'm represented by Watkins Pauling and Grimes.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, my attorneys are in the lobby.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it sounds like, but he is a talented, talented receiver for sure.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: Give me, give me one, you know, who you most excited about.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: Give me somebody that you're most excited about with preseason about to get rolling.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: Is there somebody on this team that you're that you're fired up about?
- 24:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think we're going to see a lot of top-end guys.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_02]: So then I start to look at, you know, okay, there's a lot of red shirt players, which we'll talk about maybe in a little bit later, but I'm like, do Grayson Halton?
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: This is some of that could be an impact player, rookie obviously crazy high ceiling.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: We are going to get to see him tomorrow.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: He is going to be out there on the field.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: So like, when in doubt,
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: that is going to be a big deal.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: I expect him to get the start.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see what that looks like.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: But I also think they should probably play CJ West now for the cons as well.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: You know, sophomore players coming off injuries, being banged up a little bit through training camp.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: You want them to get fully ready for game one.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: That defensive tackle, very young room outside of Osso, DeGizua, you've got to get some reps there because all these guys have missed time and training camp this year.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: Grayson Halton is the one guy with that ceiling in the past rush game that's just like what if he hits what happens if he is a guy a lot of 49 just fans favorite player you know in this draft he was the one value pick you had all the uproar and everything about consensus big boards and reaches Grayson Halton was the one guy that was kind of a consensus third round pick that you got in the fourth round
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: can that value pick, pay dividends early on, we're gonna find out tomorrow.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: Can he go out there and get some pressure and impact the quarterback?
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: Gosh, man, that would be so huge and such an added benefit to this 49er's defense that struggled so bad with past rush last year.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you're bringing in a past rush, defensive tackle specialist, Grace and Halton, how many snaps is he gonna get?
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: Will they be impactful?
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: Can he prove that he is where he belongs?
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, the Niners had 20 Freakin' Sacks last year, 20, okay, that's just a patheticly low number.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, I'm thinking the same thing.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I, you know, I could be like, you took my guy, you know, Grace and Halton, but Grace and Halton is such a dominating interior rushery so quick, and he's emotional, he celebrates his wins and he wins.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: And in
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, nobody's worried about grace and halting, you know what I mean?
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: So when he played at Oklahoma, they were worried about grace and halting.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: Now he played in a really good defense.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the defense then was a great player as well.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they had some really good players on that defense.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: But this guy was a primary, you know, you had to account for him.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: On this nine-year line, they're going to be worried about people, everybody but him.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be, oh, we got to worry about OSA.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we got to worry about Bosa.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we got to worry about Remelo.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, nobody's going to be worried about Grace and Halton.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: So he's going to get some one on ones and he's going to win those one on one.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I love that one.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: Two other names to that same end.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: The guy who, yeah, he's not a rookie, but man, he looked awesome this week, is Agbo Ocaronquo, you know, and Agbo, I talked to Chris Kassaric about him, and he's like, he really liked his year in Houston, where he played in a four-man front, and the guy just, Chris is like, he just has an ability to hit that perfect point on the blocker.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: He understands leverage really, really well.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: And he hits these leverage points and gets these old linemen on roller skates and just waltzes them in the quarterback.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: The power that Agbo Ocaronquo brings at 255 is awesome.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: And he really does have a knack for rushing the pastor.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's a pass rush skillset that he brings to the table.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: And he's, you know, last year tore the triceps.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: But he had a couple of decent years in Cleveland and had a really good year in Houston.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: I still think he is best year.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: In Christy, he loved him coming out of O you, loved him in the early days of the Rams.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: Now you got him where he loves him, Chris loves him.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's shown.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, granted, it's, you know, Isaac Al-R-Khan and Ricky Cruz that he's making look horrible, but this guy's got a true neck.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm looking for him and then Bryson Eason and James Thompson, but mostly Eason from the standpoint of past Russia.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: This guy's got a really, really
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: thick lower body.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: But his fast.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you just don't see guys that carry that much weight in their legs be fast.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: And yet Bryce needs an as fast and he's a converted linebacker and he's, you know, Chris described it in the interview that I did with them earlier this week where he's like, you know, he's got so much power in his get off.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: that he can just kind of come out of his stance, John, and with just the strong arm, he can kind of get some knockback and start pushing, and then the O-Lineman kind of settle into him, and they realize, man, he's got a lot of power, and he can push.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: But then he's got real speed.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: If he can separate, he can also then get off that block and sack the quarterback.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's not just a power rusher.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's got power, the initial power.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, Eason, Halton, James Thompson, year two of Alfred Collins, year two of CJ West, Aeros pointing up, year two in the system for Keon White, Oso Digi Zuah and his prime.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, both obviously will not play, but you added Ramello and Ocaronquo, the veteran.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think their defense is going to be better than people think.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think Reheem is going to the impact that Reheem is going to make on the secondary, but also, you know, all the additions they have up front.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: I just think, we'll see once the injury start happening, how thin things get, but I think there's good talent on this defense on all three levels.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think the defense is going to be surprising to good.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: I am curious to see, I like all the five-man front fever back or whatever else.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: I just want Upton Stout to stay on the field.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's my biggest concern.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: So like, how often, which we're not going to see him tomorrow, but I do think that the schematic fundamentals with how you call a game and you personnel package your defense against offensive personnel groups, we're going to be a little bit telling.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: Um, how often are you in nickel or you in the fourth three or you in the five two, fourth three over all that kind of different stuff.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see, but I'm excited about this.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited for the 49ers to put out there a defense that is just not so transparent and easy to read out of the huddle.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like that was the thing that was so frustrating.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and so with Rahim Morris running a much more complex front seven.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: that is going to be fun to have quarterbacks kind of step back and look and try to figure out what's going on a little bit more, that would be fun to see.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: So it's going to be kind of fun tomorrow to see exactly how much Rahim Morris unveils and shows or does he just stay vanilla?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: These are things that are going to be new because we haven't had this type of defensive
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing guy that I'm really kind of excited about because Pertis excited about him is to Marcus Robinson.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the Perti to Marcus Robinson connection this summer has been amazing.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: Perti looks like he's about to play his best football and I think Robinson can step in for peer saw at that z position and and.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: And to his thing, he was the best nine-year receiver in the playoff.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's been awesome this summer.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, absolutely fantastic and Perti knows where has a confidence in where he's going to be and is thrown in the ball.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: And these guys get in separation down the field in a very kind of creative way.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: So, to Marcus Robinson, I mean, he's like one of those guys that I don't even know that I thought he was going to make a team in the offseason.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: But now, I mean, he really, really looks good.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: What's your perspective on Robinson before we hit, we'll hit our prize picks line up, and then I got a couple more things we want to get to.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: When you think of Robinson, because he looks so good against the Eagles, and I ask Perti about him, and he's like, hey, you know, the guy's got length in the red zone, you know, where he's going to be, you know, he's really good on these, on these rubbrout type situations, and he just said, hey, this is a guy that, you know, I feel very comfortable going to.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_02]: He was the best.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: He was the number one white receiver for the 49ers in the playoffs whenever they beat the Eagles in Philadelphia.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_02]: This dude just tortured Quinion Mitchell who all pro corner.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's incredible, but that's a thing.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: You get these old hats at the wide receiver position, which is going to be 32 years old this year.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: But it doesn't matter because he understands the craftiness to get open the route running.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: And this is somebody with 28 touchdowns in his career.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_02]: He's a special, like I wish he was always out there in the red zone.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like this is where you should use him.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: I am a huge D-Rob fan just because I like veterans that can play multiple positions.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: He can play all three wide receiver spots and I remember whenever the early, you know, training camp was going on and people were putting out there like I think these wide receivers will make it not these other ones and to Marcus Robinson was to get and show a love.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: I was very upset.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, dude, I think this is wrong.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: To Marcus Robinson was the most consistent wide receiver in camp last year, but that didn't translate to the season because he got suspended for a month.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: And so he was in out there with the team practicing or at the games for the first month and took him forever to catch back up to speed.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: But you look at this camp, he's consistent and and he's consistent with every all four quarterbacks, whether it's Brock party, Matt Jones, the the maple missile, Adrian Martinez doesn't matter.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's out there making plays to Marcus Robbins is making this roster the only way he will not.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: is if it's that gentleman's handshake agreement with the vested vet that doesn't have to go through waivers where they doesn't make the 53 and then Kyle Shanahan bumps some extra money to come back on the practice squad and gets like he's going to be out there for the 40 hours week one.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: However, you slice it, I'm keeping him over Christian Kirk.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm keeping him over Jordan walkins.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm keeping him over Jordan over Cal, Jacob Cowen.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think that he is safe.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: He has just played
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I mean, I love Watkins, but I agree with you to Marcus Robinson is doing it right now.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: If you cut to Marcus Robinson and then you wind up needing a veteran receiver later in the year, you're sitting there feeling like an idiot, because you have that veteran receiver in camp with you and you cut them.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I think they'll find a way.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to see a way for both of those guys to make the roster.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see the injury factor and how things shake out after three games.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: All right, it is time for our price picks lineup.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: We'll move ourselves to the corner.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: We'll share the screen.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: And we've already done our price picks lineup.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: We'll put it up there.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: We'll share the screen.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: And then we'll just tell you guys, of course, that the crew show is brought to you by price picks.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: price picks is a brand new offer.

- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: So we need a three-pick power play.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: $5, we're going to go into these are season totals with Puka, you know, the news from chapter that Puka may miss the beginning of the year under eight receiving touchdowns.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: That seemed like an easy one.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: Ashton, Gentie, over 9.74 and a half rush yards and I'm going to be Jean Robbins with a new contract.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: To go for at least 1200 yards this year, it's at 1149.5 if he goes over all three go down five we go through for three our five dollars paces 30 thank you to prize picks for being a proud sponsor of the crude show will put ourselves back over here and we appreciate you know what we we did our thing but we never put up our prize picks.

- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we can't short the people.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: We can't short price pick statement.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: Mr. Prize will be at my door complaining and I don't want Mr. Prize coming over here.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: He just give me he can get me he's nasty.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: Then we'll share the screen down here.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and, you know, there's other, there's other guys there.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I kind of think the Rams are a little bit of fool school, but we'll see.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's wishful thinking.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: But there you go.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you to prize picks for being a proud sponsor of the crew show.

- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm driving a Novato Chevrolet Traverse.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: Adam Rogers is the sales guy to see.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: Novato Chevrolet.com on the web.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: Novato Chevrolet, the only place I'll buy a Chevrolet.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: And also, thank you to sharp corner sports cards and collectibles.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: My good friend.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: Anthony Catonias at 831-521-5264, check them out on Instagram, sharp corners 831 on the Graham.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks to all of our sponsors, the links in the description for all of our sponsors.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: All right, this how many teams, I wanted to ask you this question, how many teams John do you think as we sit here in mid August with the preseason about to get underway?
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: how many teams realistically can win the Super Bowl at so far?
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: And somebody asked me this question the other day, and I thought, you know what, we're first so you got to have some kind of criterion.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: You could go to some feel, but to me I got to have a criterion.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I really believe to win the Super Bowl, you got to have a great head coach.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: You got to have a smart head coach.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: You got to have a quarterback.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: And you got to have talent.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you can get away with having two of the three, you know, maybe you could have an ordinary quarterback if you had awesome talent in a great-head coach.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, maybe you could get by without a great-head coach, but you had awesome talent and an incredible quarterback.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of feel like Buffalo might be in that situation this year.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: Can Buffalo with really good talent and Josh Allen with a rookie head coach when the Super Bowl.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: These are the teams.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, first of all, for to you, how many teams do you think or do you want me to tell you who I have?
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: But either way, how many teams are legit, super bowl contenders?
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's about 10.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: If you're talking to a CNFC combined, I think there's about 10.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's a very top-heavy league this year.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: Sadly, three of those 10 are in the NFC West.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I put my number at 10 as you were saying that.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: I started going through the teams just kind of counting off the top of my head.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: I came over with 10.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so here's what I've got for my 10.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm struggling with a good.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: You said 10 as well.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I've got probably 11.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_01]: So this is who I have.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: Seattle, defending champions.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: They got a great head coach.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: They get great talent in their quarterbacks.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Good enough.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: Great head coach, great quarterback.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: Great starting talent.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: I got the chargers.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: I did not have the chargers.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: Jim Harbaugh, lot of talent.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: Herbert, it's a big time talent at quarterback.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: There's, you know, if you tell me the chargers, we're gonna do what the chargers always do.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't be shocked, but I got the chargers.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: I got the Niners.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: I got shanahan.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: I got perdi and I got a lot of veteran talent.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to take the right kind of jockey ride by shanahan and has gotten off to a little bit of a rough start, but I like the niders there and there.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: I got New England in there, despite the struggles of label, I think he's a very good coach and Drake Mays have really good quarterback and Elliot Wolf's fantastic GM.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: They've had a really good offseason.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: They've had it a lot more talent to that roster.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: They continued to add talent because they had salary cap room, they had picks.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: I got Cincinnati.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: They improved their defense.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: They got Joe Burrow.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a big fan of the quarterback, but I like the talent and I like Burrow.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_02]: I did not have Cincinnati.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: I have buffalo, you know, once again, two or three.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: I like the town.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: I like Josh Allen.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like the head coach.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: Tampa Bay is on my list.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: They got a quarterback I really like.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: They got a lot of talent.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I kind of like their head coach.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so those teams for sure.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: And then I got, I got, I'm debating.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: I got Denver.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: Um, in there as well, because I really like their talent so then I get four teams that I'm not really sure about that I were in that I just don't know.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and that would be Kansas City, obviously they got the head coach in the quarterback, but the quarterback's hurt and he's kind of older.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's been through a lot.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: Reeves got to older the talent.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like the chief talent.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's not it.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: I wrote it and yeah, not at all.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: Don't like the talent.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: Then there's Baltimore and I like Lamar.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the town's pretty good, but, you know, for rookie head coach, I don't know, that Jesse Minter worries me.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's a very young coach.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: I like old, to me, old coaches know a lot.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: Young coaches, it's a risk.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: Takes time.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's not sure.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: Then there's Pittsburgh.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: I love them on the line of scrimmage, and I think they've got some sleeper pickups,
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, another, you know, you know, it's just a lot of stability there.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of good talent there, but Rogers is older.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about the head coach.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's green bay is green bay on this list.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: They were kind of disappointing last year.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like love and the head coach don't get along.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_01]: So that book, that kind of makes me kind of worried about them.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: But I would probably throw them in there.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: So Green Bay, Tampa Bay, Buffalo, Denver, Cincinnati, New England, 49ers, Chargers, Rams, Seahawks.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: I said 10 and I'm going to throw an 11th in there, I got to give the Detroit Lions a little bit.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: Because I really believe in Brad Holmes.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a very good GM and I do think Jared Goff is a good quarterback.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe in Dan Campbell.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people will be like, if you think Dan Campbell's like the cats me, I'm with you on that take by the way.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I have them in there, there's my 11th team.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have the bears in because I don't believe in Caleb.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have Houston in because I don't believe in Strowd.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have Washington in because even though I believe in Daniels, I don't believe in their talent.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're offensive lines week and he, the bad combination of no-layer and utensil bad offensive line and a quarterback that gets hurt, that I've got them on the line through them.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like Dallas because of Jerry Jones and I don't like New York giants because of Jackson Dart.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of where I'm at.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: Chiefs, I think towns have eroded Pittsburgh, the same Baltimore, even though they've been a past power.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe in Lamar in the playoffs and I think their talent is good, but not great.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: Green Bay definitely should be in there.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's where I'm at.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I got about 10 or 11 contenders and the Niners are one of them.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm higher on the bears than you are.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: I love Ben Johnson even though he costs him in the playoffs.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_02]: I am out on Detroit.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: One of my kind of hot takes is that they might not even make the playoffs.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: They've lost so many defensive starters already.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_02]: But I do like golf.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: I do like the offense.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_02]: I do think that they have a lot of talent.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_02]: But probably my weirdest one.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I hate to steam more than any team in the NFL.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_02]: I love Dallas's roster.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: I love deck presscott as a regular season quarterback.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: Can't he overcome that?
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: I doubt it, but that roster, like in that division, the cowboy should be in the conversation, but just can you take deck presscott seriously in the playoffs?
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that you can, but, I mean, that roster is not bad.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's a pretty solid roster.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm just saying, I'm going to bring us down.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Dallas to me, it's just a losing organization.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I just, I mean, I think they're just, they do have a really solid defense, though.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I saw Rochon Gary said that he thinks the sky's the limit for their D. I mean, it's Kenny Clark and Quinn and Williams and Agbania, who's a pretty big body.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, those, they're down three.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: Then they've got Rashan Gary and Ezraqqo off the edges.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: And that's really good.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then you got over to Marvi and overshone and D winters inside, y'all's objation farm from Michigan.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: I really like him in Malachi Lawrence.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_01]: They do have a lot of edge.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: And, and they do, they, you know, they're there.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think there can be one of those bully teams.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: like they always are.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you if you run on them and force them to defend the run, you can got them.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_01]: But if you fall behind, they're going to turn 10, they're going to turn a 10 point lead into 21 better than most teams.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: because they just put, I mean, they added Kobe Durant, Caleb Downs, the secondary, and they've got a lot of pass for our shipfront.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, but I, you know, once again, I don't know if I believe in Dallas, I don't know if I believe in, in, in there, in, in, in, in, that looks to me like Jack, like really Jack, like bad football way, Jack.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen Jack at all this year?
- 49:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's been, he's been working out, man.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to get on the cover of those magazines.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_02]: Good
- 49:14[SPEAKER_01]: If I said to you, give me, I'm not saying pick your Super Bowl, because it's pre-season, it's early.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: But give me a team that you could see in the Super Bowl.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_02]: The problem is the AFC, because it's such a gauntlet.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's really easy just to say the NFC West versus one of those teams.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_02]: Man, Denver doesn't have to do much and I think the Broncos, I could see the Broncos versus NFC team very easily NFC West team.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_02]: That just seems to be kind of the, I could see it, man.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good roster.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: So good.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: I like Tampa.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Tampa.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: I really think that it could be Niners Bucks in the NFC Championship game in Tampa.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, look what Tampa's got.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: It received her.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: They've got Mekagbuka.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: How great was his rookie year?
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then he looks like a JSN clone.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got Godwin.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, they had a Ted Hearst in the draft, and you got Ted's, and Jalen Mcmillan, I mean, they got receivers, and they got good tight ends, too.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: K-Dotten, pained Durham, like Bauer Sharp, they just had a familiar issue.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_01]: They got a good quarterback who's having a faint, and supposedly he just carved up the opposition in the joint practices.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: They got backs, you got bucky Irving, you got Kenneth Gainwell, Sean Tucker, kind of like their backs,
- 50:45[SPEAKER_01]: Grammar and Godecchi, Cody Maw, I mean, that's a very, very good line.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: And then on defense, you know, I mean, it's a three, four with Vita Via, Kalaja, Kansi, Aishan Robinson, Tumante, K-A-Part.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: He got some interesting three guys up front, but then they added Ruben Bane, Josiah Trotter, and Kianta Scott.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, those guys are awesome.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think those are three of the best players in the
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I think Bane and Trotter and Tiante Scott, if they play to their talent level, that's gonna help a defense that has Jacob Parish, good young football player, but that was one of my favorite players last year.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they draft like we want to draft play.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: Antoine Winfield, Junior, damn good football player.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, y'all, Diabe, he's a really good football player.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they draft the way, I mean, Jason Lick might be kind of corny any, you know, he wears his jeans and his sweatshirts and he doesn't really look like a football guy and he damn dude can draft can absolutely draft and you know, it's like he turns draft and like casual day and we've seen their draft room.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_01]: and then I got one big question to ask you before we get out.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: Here's our supers for today.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: And thank you to everybody who's participating here.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_01]: We got this one tray hall.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_01]: JC damn you look good.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: Can't wait to see you in Seattle.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_01]: PS, let me let me
- 52:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you're the man, I appreciate you make it way to be with you in Seattle.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_02]: You go into any 40 diners road games, come party with this 49ers rush road trip dot com.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, you don't just we don't have to just do that.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we can do more.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: We can do more than just say, hey, 40 then a rush road trip dot com, and we can do more than that.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_02]: Look at this also.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I got to say this too.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_02]: We are adding a home game that we're going to try out.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be tailgating for the season opener at home against Miami.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're going to Australia, Mexico City, Atlanta.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_02]: We throw parties the night before the games, you name it.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: It is up, tickets are up now as cheap as they will be.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_02]: Kids are free to every single event.

- 53:33[SPEAKER_02]: We are going to see the koala that is part of the history, but yeah, we are.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_02]: Hell we have, man.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to get all the way down there.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: Do not touch them.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_02]: You can't touch them.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_02]: They have
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: What's the word?
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: You are wearing a Texas Aative shirt.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's all I have to say.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: Don't.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: I never thought.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: If you'd said, you know, you know, call a bear, you know, Clamydia.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't think I didn't have that on the Bingo card for the show.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't make the rules, man.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_02]: They have a good time on the weekends.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_01]: And those.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_01]: They do have kind of a little bit of a smile to them.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_01]: They kind of look like an old man.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, with like kind of like, like with bald, with like lots of hair over the years, they look like an old man, but they're smiling a little bit.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_01]: And then we know why.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we got a couple more here.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_01]: We got this one from 404.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_01]: He says 10 jewels equals press F. Okay.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_01]: and we've got this one from uh... old Leo we have six three five four ten jewels equals hiding okay appreciate you appreciate that we got rick the rush crew just wanted to say hi to my boy chap see you in Melbourne they don't call it no burn by the way it's may be not Melbourne Melbourne Melbourne I was told uh... michael says hoping oasis work ethic rubs off on michael and
- 55:05[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I like Colin saying how he's made an emphasis on eating and, you know, he's a big old boy, but he's got some bad way to on him.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_01]: One of the best conversations we had was with Kasarik last week and one of the things he said that Colin showed up every day at the facility and worked really, really hard on his lower body and he's excited for what Colin's is going to
- 55:33[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was interesting.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing he said about Grace and Haltten, he said he just is this guy who just loves football.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_01]: He said, so that's really awesome, because that means the guy's gonna work and get better and better, and better, because he just loves it.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_01]: And then he was talking about James Thompson, he said, his, the strength of Thompson is that he gets his hands inside on your chest plate.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then he's got such strength that he can just pull rush even the strongest of players.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: And it's shown itself in the one-on-one.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then he had great things to say about essence ability to kind of collapse the pocket with power and then get off of blocks and get to the quarterback in space at 320, 62320.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_01]: So our 64320.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: So good things.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, really good things
- 56:25[SPEAKER_01]: is also looks like he could be maybe the addition of the year.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's finish with the last question here, which is this.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_01]: Um, when the Niners or anytime you get together in a, in a situation like this, where you're got the joint practices, you get an up close look at their guys, and they actually before we hit this, let me just mention, Niners signed Eli Apple.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_01]: They also signed as a mere white today, so we're going to see a lot of Patrick Taylor since here, McCormick, Khalil Herbert, and as a mere white.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_01]: Coralist waitman has beaten out boommeaster John for the punter job and waitman did
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: quite a bit better than Bowmeaster in the joint practice just for whatever that's worth.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_01]: And then, as I mentioned, Eli Apple signed Xavier Thomas, a defensive lineman, also signed he put at the Cardinals, it's a mere white sign.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then Junior Burgon who was having a very good camp waved and Jack Boomeaster waved.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_01]: So you'd have a quick thought on that before we those were some of the the big moves of the of the week.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the one thing about Coralis Waitman that stood out the punner that one, Hayne time was his specialty.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_02]: And so he got so much more height than Balmester.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_02]: Balmester was much more of an angle kind of coffins corner type guy.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_02]: So going just with men setting up, helping your guys not get those big returns, that seemed to be the thing there.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_02]: And you know what you
- 57:55[SPEAKER_02]: Good hands and he made a lot of plays, but it was always level 10 degree of difficulty on every single play he made.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think guys like Will Paul in Wesley Grimes made that an affordable wave at this period.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_02]: And like, I don't want to wish it will on anybody, but I wouldn't be shocked if he gets picked up by another team, even though everybody's at 91 players right now.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_02]: So it might be the end of it for him, wish him nothing but the best in the world.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_02]: But like, I was getting a lot of junior Bergen comments, and I was just like, guys, I really don't see it long term.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, he's sure handed, but every play was just so hard.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_02]: also waived injured today, K.C.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_02]: Henry, I probably should throw that in.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_02]: He got injured in the joint practices.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, you know, life in the NFL, man.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he looked good, too, and then, you know, you get hurt all of a sudden, it's like, oh, you're hurt gun.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_01]: Um, okay, two last thoughts here.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_01]: John Harbaugh, um, and the New York Giants worked out Terry on Arnold today.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: Our ball was asked about it.
- 58:56[SPEAKER_01]: He said, we want to be aggressive in every way, whatever we can do, find anything out we can find out about any situation or player that can help us be better.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_01]: John Schneider in the C-Ox also looked at Terian Arnold.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_01]: He was great at Alabama.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_01]: He was a first round draft choice.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's been accused of some pretty heinous crimes.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Seattle worked him out.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_01]: We saw it on Hardknocks.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?
- 59:22[SPEAKER_01]: To try and cut him, he kind of got grabby if you looked at his film as rookie year.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_01]: But he is a first round pick and he was considered to be a top tier corner coming out.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's a tough position to find guys.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, is this?
- 59:37[SPEAKER_01]: you know, Seattle will take shots on guys that seem like the Niners won't.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_01]: Should the Niners loose in their stance on some of the we won't take any of the league's bad boys to try to get the best talent in the game for cheap.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's what John Schneider's thinking here.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's thinking, can I get a first round pick with size to play the corner and get him for cheap.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe maybe get him in Seattle system and he becomes this awesome player should the Niners show interest in Terry on Arnold what do they I would say no one I'm with Fred Warner in saying this is the best defense of back group That has taken place for the 49ers as they've been there so it's not a major need position the bad boys I like are Jack Jones guys
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_02]: that had a troubled past, have overcome that, have a year or two of good track record, that is the type of guy that I'm okay with.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_02]: Not somebody that's organizing an alleged kidnapping, whatever conspiracy thing through group text.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_02]: That is somebody that does not scream to me all about football at this point.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_02]: That is just my personal take.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_02]: This is the post-Rubin Foster Shanty Hand Program.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_02]: Where if you don't love football,
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_02]: This is not the place for you and allow Terry on Arnold to go clear his name, allow him to reestablish at some of these lesser franchises and then after he does that then perhaps come back that that's my personal take.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_02]: Niners are not in dire straight.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_02]: You should not be grasping at straws for guys like this personally.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_01]: Fair enough.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_01]: Let's finish with this.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: Once again, I was going to let's go down this room and wrote a minute ago, but we'll finish with it.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_01]: Niners and Titans both trained together.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a Borgonsi, Mike Borgonsi, and John Lynch huddled together talking players.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm supposedly part of the deal was that Shanahan was going to give
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_01]: uh... solah notes on his team and solah was going to give shenan independent notes and thoughts on what he thought about about the niner's they play in different conferences there in different modes niner's are trying to go for the super ball this is your ten of the regime that's is your one of the regime of borgansian solah and they're they're trying to put together and build a roster so if these teams were gonna hook up on a trade
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_01]: Who, who would you want on this Titan's roster that don't say Jeffrey Simmons, because you're not getting Jeffrey Simmons, you're not going to get their best player, but if, who do you think is a player that it would make sense that the Niners would trade for from the Titans?
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think you got to start at guard.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_02]: But man, you look at the guard, they've got true moss who the 40 hours like go of like that is huge.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_02]: You talk about Jackson Slater, Garrett Tillinger.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_02]: There's a couple guys there that back into the roster guys like swap something for a seventh, those types of trades that I see the 49ers do.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_02]: If somebody in the guard room does not come out and solidify that.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_02]: Now to those three guys,
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_02]: make you want to get rid of a Connor Colby or Robert Jones or even a Carver Willis or a Brett Toff.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of the problem whenever I'm looking at the 49ers roster.
- 1:02:57[SPEAKER_02]: Where is their room for somebody to go be out there?
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_02]: Young guys like Olo Wofimi, Ola Desio, who I think they're probably pretty high on out of UCLA, you're like, you're like, you're
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_02]: He hasn't been able to crack their lineup.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_02]: He hasn't been able to crack their top two man rotation.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_02]: Edge Rusher, past Rusher, he was one of my Rush crush players.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_02]: I loved him.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_02]: Something along those lines, but man, right now it's hard.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_02]: And outside of injuries, it's kind of tough to be able to say, yeah, this is a possibility.
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you got, Larry?
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, I think you centered on some good thoughts there.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_01]: One, you know, if the 49ers, as you say, you know, if they don't love Robert Jones, if Connor Cole be Carver Willis, if they're not loving some of those guys, you know, the, the titans definitely have some interior of its alignment for Nando Carmona was a fifth round pick at Arkansas.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_01]: They really like him supposedly.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_01]: They'd like Pat Cougan from Indiana.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think Pat Cougan is a culture player.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_01]: And watching him, you know, hold up, I know he doesn't have the best body and there's, you know, better athletes and stronger guys.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_01]: But this guy's got great, he's a leader and he's tough.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_01]: And if somehow they're trying to squeeze him through waivers, I'd be all over Pat Cougan.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_01]: all over Pat Cougan.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they have the Schlopman who they came brought from from the giants.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to play center.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_01]: As you said, they drafted Jackson Slater.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_01]: They drafted Fernando Carmona.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_01]: Cougan was a six round pick.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys were fifth round picks.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're going to try to keep Cougan in Carmona.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_01]: But you're right.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_01]: Jackson Slater, Dellinger, Drew Moss, all interesting.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, the Niners ought to hawk.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_01]: the, you know, the guard, the interior offensive line room and and and check take a look at it.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think running back, you know, you're only going to keep so many backs and the Niners are seeming like looking for backs every day.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Carter is a really good back and he was with the brand boy or in for the jets too.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_02]: So he knows about them.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and this guy is a high character guy, really high character.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's a small body guy, but he is a high character football player, loved this guy coming out.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_01]: He played at North Carolina, and he's just, he's tough.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's only 27, and you know, he's played in Arizona, so he's played in the division, but he doesn't fumble his top.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_01]: He can catch the ball.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's a good
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's a good back, you know, and he might be a better back than some of them that guys in Niners have.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I'd be interested in him.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then you said it, I think the the guy that I would have the most interest in, you know, they drafted old a family old Adasia when they were a three, four team.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_01]: He was a he was a linebacker at Cal, they moved him to defense event, our two outside linebacker, you know, in some schemes he can play, you know, an edge, an edge, but they also have
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_01]: Keldrick Faulk, Jalen Harrell, you know, uh, Germaine Johnson, Jacob Martin.
- 1:05:57[SPEAKER_01]: They got a bunch of guys here, and he was drafted by Burgundsy, but I don't know that he fits solos defense as an every down 4-3 defensive end, but I think he would fit.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_01]: the 49ers kind of plan of like have that that you know that spinner player who's a linebacker but he's really I think you'd be like an ideal player in some ways for the 49ers.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_01]: So it would take something you'd have to give you that he was a second round pick I believe you'd have to give.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_01]: you know, a player, but maybe there's a player that Robert Salalikes, you know, maybe maybe there's a player that, you know, Robert Salal really likes that he would take a pick and that player for Oladatio because I just get the feeling Oladatio is just going to be one of many guys in their rotation and he does not quite a scheme fit, but I think he'd be an awesome.
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_01]: scheme fit for Raheem.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I could see that.
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_01]: I could see the 49ers saying here here's a here's a day three pick and you know fill in player X that Roberts all likes.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_01]: Tate him Bethune or something.
- 1:07:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_01]: You'd have to we'd have to see who we Roberts all likes.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he doesn't like anybody but that would be that's the guy that I think would be a fantastic get if you could get him.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_01]: Um, all right, that is going to do it for us.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_01]: We, I think we have one more, uh, no, we have this.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think we have two more.
- 1:07:18[SPEAKER_01]: We have this one.
- 1:07:19[SPEAKER_01]: Well, do we get this one?
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_01]: Hoping.
- 1:07:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we got that one.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_02]: We have this game, Michael.
- 1:07:24[SPEAKER_01]: What about going to Arizona game, John?
- 1:07:26[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, that that's a flex schedule.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_02]: So it's hard to rent venues for hypothetical days and all that stuff.
- 1:07:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's that week 18, but it's a possibility.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_02]: But again, the NFL doesn't announce still 10 days before.
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_02]: So again, hard to plane that one out and blood move.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 1:07:40[SPEAKER_02]: But daughter cubone says go Niners.
- 1:07:44[SPEAKER_02]: Bring the ring.
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_01]: Look how cool that is man.
- 1:07:46[SPEAKER_01]: Look at that.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_01]: We got this one too.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_01]: Great show guys.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_01]: We talk all we talk in here a lot about the 49ers injuries thus far in camp.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_01]: How does their injury list compare across the league more or less average have a great night well as far as numbers it may be up there with some of the most numbers as far as guys listed but if you really look at it.
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, let's talk about the crushing injuries Ricky Pierce all done for the year.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, McCow, Kamara, you know, torn ACL done for the year, everybody else is just like pretty much there, right?
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_01]: And we back.
- 1:08:19[SPEAKER_01]: So there's, there are teams that have lost some of the players.
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_02]: Detroit, Panthers.
- 1:08:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Colts.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_01]: Several more teams.
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, and last one of the night, this one from Am I because I am become death destroyer of words.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_01]: Two jewels equals 100.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_01]: All right, John, great stuff.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_01]: Go Niners.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_01]: You can be watching the game tomorrow night at home.
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be out there at the stadium.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you're going.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_02]: You're going.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, last minute edition.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be out there having a good time taking notes, having a good time.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_01]: Go, say, how did the faith we could do any tailgating?
- 1:08:53[SPEAKER_02]: No tailgating on this one.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm checking out a tailgate spot for the regular season.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, we'll be, if you see us, say hi.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be walking around with a beer in my hand at some point.
- 1:09:03[SPEAKER_02]: There you go, reconnaissance on sites.
- 1:09:06[SPEAKER_01]: John's done an incredible job.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_01]: Have a great night everybody.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_01]: If you see me tomorrow at the stadium come over and say hi to everybody.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks to our sponsors have a great night and
