- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm going to regret this pee.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Welcome to the ned Palty.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Hi.
- 0:08Speaker 4: This is Nick and Astas, you story editor on Star Wars,
- 0:12Speaker 4: the Clone Wars and Star Wars bad Batch, and you
- 0:16Speaker 4: are listening to Aggressive Negotiations.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We're back with the regular crew here on Aggressive Negotiations,
- 0:28Speaker 1: the Star Wars podcast that prides itself on all of
- 0:30Speaker 1: the topics that we explore here in a galaxy far
- 0:33Speaker 1: far away. I am one of your hosts, the humble
- 0:36Speaker 1: Jedi Master John Mills, and joining me on this fine
- 0:39Speaker 1: podcast reunited and it feels so good is my dear friend,
- 0:43Speaker 1: Jedi Master Matthew Rushing. Matt welcome back. We kept your
- 0:47Speaker 1: seat warm and the coordinates are punched in. Are you
- 0:50Speaker 1: ready to get underway with this new episode of Aggressive Negotiations?
- 0:54Speaker 2: I am, I am.
- 0:55Speaker 3: You know we have put some Master Redel on probation
- 1:01Speaker 3: for his unorthodox views on the special editions. He is
- 1:07Speaker 3: being punished by having to do a survey mission on
- 1:12Speaker 3: a planet about whether or not there is a vergence
- 1:16Speaker 3: in the Force. Whether he comes back from that planet
- 1:19Speaker 3: is sus because well, there seems to be some sort
- 1:24Speaker 3: of dark side user and or sith that nobody should
- 1:27Speaker 3: know about on the loose. So if we never see
- 1:31Speaker 3: Master Riddell again, we know why.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I've already dispatched the rescue mission and Master Rodel's going
- 1:37Speaker 1: to come back. Just fine. Trust me, Trust me, I
- 1:39Speaker 1: know how to use my lightsaber whip and get people
- 1:42Speaker 1: out of trouble.
- 1:44Speaker 2: So oh, because you got them into trouble. Yeah, oh man, goodness.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So you know, hey, listen, I'm just going to say,
- 1:52Speaker 1: bald people get a bad rap here. Okay, all right,
- 1:55Speaker 1: like that, if you got Mace window toy with the
- 1:57Speaker 1: dark side when he's about to take it, and he
- 1:59Speaker 1: got green people with lightsaber whips. Come on, come on,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I need I need. I need a hero, as Bonnie
- 2:05Speaker 1: Tyler saying, but of course, more than heroes, we need
- 2:09Speaker 1: an expression of your love. Go over to Apple Podcasts
- 2:12Speaker 1: and go ahead and drop off a five star rating
- 2:15Speaker 1: and review. Yeah. I went ahead and asked for the
- 2:17Speaker 1: five star because I think we're a five star. Come
- 2:19Speaker 1: on and give us that review. We'd love it, we'd
- 2:21Speaker 1: appreciate it. And of course you can find us on
- 2:23Speaker 1: social media at the Jedi Masters on X and at
- 2:27Speaker 1: join nerd Party as a Network on X and the
- 2:29Speaker 1: Nerd Party on Facebook and Instagram. So Master Rushing, you know,
- 2:34Speaker 1: while you were away on your own expeditionary mission, I
- 2:38Speaker 1: was thinking to myself. I said to myself self, one
- 2:41Speaker 1: of the things that I don't know that we've explored
- 2:43Speaker 1: really in depth is about Omega from one specific angle.
- 2:49Speaker 1: We know now that bad Batch has closed out, So
- 2:51Speaker 1: this doesn't count as a spoiler because everybody should have
- 2:54Speaker 1: watched season three by this point that she can be
- 2:57Speaker 1: a conduit for midichloria for the force, and they did
- 3:02Speaker 1: something special to ensure that about her. However, she is
- 3:07Speaker 1: supposedly minimally manipulated material from Django FET. So the first
- 3:14Speaker 1: implication I want to talk about is, given her force affinities,
- 3:20Speaker 1: does it carry implication for Boba fet and are we
- 3:25Speaker 1: looking at Omega and Boba are that sort of diad
- 3:34Speaker 1: though it was created in a lab, they're sort of
- 3:36Speaker 1: a forced diad because they're flip sides of the same coin.
- 3:40Speaker 1: And this special force sort of manipulation that goes on
- 3:45Speaker 1: with Omega. Does that imply something about the genetic material
- 3:49Speaker 1: that they both come from, that there's some sort of
- 3:51Speaker 1: force latency in both of them.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I think that's a really good question.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I had never really considered whether or not, you know,
- 4:03Speaker 3: Boba Fett also has any of those tendencies, and I
- 4:09Speaker 3: think my first reaction would be no. Otherwise Omega would
- 4:16Speaker 3: not have been necessary possibly for them to create. I mean,
- 4:19Speaker 3: the name itself implies that she is the last one
- 4:25Speaker 3: to have been created and seems to be the only one.
- 4:28Speaker 2: That has this ability.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Like if if there was an alpha and she's the Omega,
- 4:34Speaker 3: then this process of elimination of trying to create a
- 4:39Speaker 3: force sensitivity in a.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Test tube baby right.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Only found its culmination in her, and so therefore somebody
- 4:53Speaker 3: like Boba Fett who was unaltered as a clone would
- 4:58Speaker 3: not have that That That's where I would kind of
- 5:01Speaker 3: think of going with that question just immediately.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Okay. The one counter I'd give to that is if
- 5:09Speaker 1: we take it to Django. If Omega is Omega and
- 5:13Speaker 1: we're saying alpha and Omega, wouldn't Django be the alpha.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I Mean, we don't know a whole lot about how
- 5:19Speaker 1: Django was specifically selected, but isn't it therefore possible that maybe,
- 5:25Speaker 1: even with the guidance of the Caminoans, Douku selected Django
- 5:29Speaker 1: not just for the ulterior death watch Mandalorian purposes, but
- 5:36Speaker 1: because there was a latent for sensitivity in Django that
- 5:41Speaker 1: he knew they would be able to manipulate. I mean,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm just saying that the possibilities here are that number one,
- 5:48Speaker 1: Boba's walking around unknowingly sensitive, and it's because his father
- 5:55Speaker 1: had a sensitivity that he never explored or was on
- 5:59Speaker 1: aware of himself, and that's why Omega becomes a possibility.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think you know, if I remember correctly,
- 6:10Speaker 3: George has mentioned that everybody, of course has a connection
- 6:13Speaker 3: with the force because it's a part of everything, and
- 6:16Speaker 3: there is a sense that then anybody could train and
- 6:21Speaker 3: force sensitivity and become more force sensitive.
- 6:25Speaker 2: But the true ability to.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Connect in the deepest way that we see somebody like
- 6:31Speaker 3: Jedi or dark sided users or anyone else really comes
- 6:35Speaker 3: from the fact of also the other hallmark of the
- 6:40Speaker 3: Midichlorians connecting you even.
- 6:43Speaker 2: More so with the force.
- 6:45Speaker 3: And so I think you know, the fact that you know,
- 6:50Speaker 3: possibly Django himself having a stronger but not off the
- 6:58Speaker 3: charts Midiclorian count or are enough that it would it
- 7:01Speaker 3: would make that worth exploring then as as a as
- 7:06Speaker 3: a basis is interesting, But I almost always wonder too
- 7:11Speaker 3: if this project because because we know that the clones
- 7:16Speaker 3: were being made what ten years before, yes, or so
- 7:21Speaker 3: pretty much right after you know, the the Phantom Menace, yes,
- 7:27Speaker 3: And so the process hasn't been going on.
- 7:33Speaker 2: For a long time.
- 7:36Speaker 3: I'm guessing that they chose Django fat specifically because of
- 7:41Speaker 3: his constitution as a Mandalorian and the way they could
- 7:44Speaker 3: manipulate that. And it wasn't I don't think even fully
- 7:51Speaker 3: revealed to anybody else that the super secret work that
- 7:56Speaker 3: they're doing. And I'm always like, I'm on the timeline
- 8:01Speaker 3: of it. I'm like wondering, so did the super secret
- 8:05Speaker 3: experiments that Palpatine kind of initiates after he's elected chancellor
- 8:12Speaker 3: become an offshoot of that and that's the starting material?
- 8:16Speaker 2: And is there connection at all?
- 8:20Speaker 3: That's a question I kind of wonder a little bit
- 8:23Speaker 3: because I like where we're going with this, But I
- 8:27Speaker 3: also just wonder too, if you know, as overarching as
- 8:33Speaker 3: Palpatine is with everything, there's also some things that aren't
- 8:38Speaker 3: just in his control completely.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, for sure. I mean, I mean the biggest
- 8:42Speaker 1: counter argument about Jango having you know, a larger than
- 8:47Speaker 1: average person's MIDI Chlorian count, of course, is the clone
- 8:50Speaker 1: army itself like that. It's always been openly acknowledged that
- 8:55Speaker 1: it will be, whether you go back to Tim at
- 8:58Speaker 1: the Zons books in the early nineties or anywhere else,
- 9:02Speaker 1: it's always been openly acknowledged that cloning midichlorians is an
- 9:05Speaker 1: incredibly difficult thing, and that's what makes Omega so special.
- 9:08Speaker 1: So in a sense, I feel like I'm arguing against
- 9:10Speaker 1: the very premise here. I suppose probably a refinement of
- 9:17Speaker 1: the thought then is Omega is Omega, and Fet undoubtedly
- 9:25Speaker 1: goes down a dark path through his life. But I
- 9:30Speaker 1: guess maybe it's one of those things where diadd's too
- 9:33Speaker 1: big a word for it. But Omega is of the light.
- 9:37Speaker 1: She's very clearly of the light even before she meets
- 9:40Speaker 1: the Batch, and they both are good for each other.
- 9:43Speaker 1: The Batch is good for her, she's good for the Batch.
- 9:47Speaker 1: And you can tell Omega is a good person from
- 9:50Speaker 1: the beginning, and Boba it's stacked against him because he's
- 9:56Speaker 1: raised by a guy who's an amoral mercy and that
- 10:05Speaker 1: it puts them on a path of darkness. So maybe
- 10:07Speaker 1: I'm just more reacting to the fact that even when
- 10:10Speaker 1: science is getting involved like this, the four steps in
- 10:14Speaker 1: and make sure there's a light in a dark, you know,
- 10:17Speaker 1: between the two of them, that there's going to be
- 10:20Speaker 1: a balance between the two.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the interesting there thing to there too.
- 10:26Speaker 3: As you were talking, I was also thinking that, you know,
- 10:29Speaker 3: one of the people that is incredibly important in Omega's
- 10:34Speaker 3: life and raising as a child is Lama Sue, and
- 10:42Speaker 3: she treats Omega very well, and she seems to really
- 10:47Speaker 3: care about Omega, especially when she realizes what they're trying
- 10:51Speaker 3: to do with Omega and the implications then of that.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think that's really interesting.
- 10:57Speaker 3: There because it's it's like you were talking about, you know,
- 11:01Speaker 3: you have Django fet being raised by this kind of
- 11:04Speaker 3: a moral bounty hunger who's just a guy trying to
- 11:07Speaker 3: make his way into universe, whatever that takes. And then
- 11:11Speaker 3: you have this scientist who has helped create this child,
- 11:15Speaker 3: feels very much responsible for her and is in the
- 11:19Speaker 3: end willing to give her life for her and has
- 11:24Speaker 3: worked to protect her even when she was on Camino.
- 11:27Speaker 3: And and so there's an amount of love there that
- 11:35Speaker 3: I don't think Boba necessarily ever completely gets because in
- 11:38Speaker 3: some ways too, you know, Django's I think Djengo's raising
- 11:43Speaker 3: of Boba always also seems to be credibly self serving,
- 11:48Speaker 3: you know, almost the celebration of himself more than necessarily
- 11:52Speaker 3: like true love, because it's also not really a son.
- 11:55Speaker 3: It's like you're just trying to raise another you, which
- 11:58Speaker 3: is is it feels like a almost an incredibly selfish,
- 12:02Speaker 3: narcissistic type of thing to do, Whereas again you have
- 12:06Speaker 3: the juxtaposition with Omega, where it's like, yes, the scientists
- 12:10Speaker 3: created them in a laboratory and didn't care about them
- 12:13Speaker 3: at all until they realized that the uniqueness and incredibleness
- 12:18Speaker 3: of what they had created, and then it becomes the
- 12:21Speaker 3: thing to which they spend the rest of their life
- 12:23Speaker 3: trying to protect, which is a very different type of upbringing. So,
- 12:27Speaker 3: like you were talking about, you know, is it one
- 12:32Speaker 3: of those places where, yeah, the force kind of steps
- 12:34Speaker 3: in to protect her, because if it doesn't, what happens
- 12:39Speaker 3: with Palpatine, I mean, he's going to get what he wants,
- 12:42Speaker 3: and we know the ultimate endgame of what he wants,
- 12:45Speaker 3: which is terrible.
- 12:50Speaker 1: The thing is going with this nurturing concept, I think
- 12:54Speaker 1: that it very much plays into what Lucas is showing
- 12:58Speaker 1: especially in Attack of the Clones, but I mean throughout
- 13:02Speaker 1: the entire original six movies and everything is yes, he's
- 13:08Speaker 1: playing with ideas of found family, but very specifically Attack
- 13:13Speaker 1: of the Clones has a lot to do with father figures,
- 13:16Speaker 1: and Django is a reflection of the dad who just
- 13:20Speaker 1: wants a son who's just like him, which we know
- 13:23Speaker 1: from his own personal life Lucas dealt with. Then you
- 13:27Speaker 1: have Obi wan as the father trying to be friend.
- 13:31Speaker 1: He's trying to be a mentor, but he also wants
- 13:33Speaker 1: to be his buddy, and the tricks inherent with that
- 13:37Speaker 1: and that I think you could even cast as sort
- 13:39Speaker 1: of like a Francis Ford Coppola in Lucas's life sort
- 13:43Speaker 1: of thing. But bringing Omega into the mix, she then
- 13:47Speaker 1: winds up having father figures come in, and that winds
- 13:53Speaker 1: up being a very interesting exploration of the dad who
- 13:57Speaker 1: didn't expect to be a dad within a doct which
- 14:01Speaker 1: of course Lucas is an adoptive father as well, trying
- 14:06Speaker 1: to figure out how, okay, well we're family, but not
- 14:10Speaker 1: a traditional type of family, so you know, how do
- 14:13Speaker 1: we we get through this and play to each other's strengths.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I think that's actually that would be I think a
- 14:19Speaker 1: really interesting sort of thing, because even taking the force
- 14:22Speaker 1: stuff out of it, you see, to your point, how
- 14:26Speaker 1: Omega starts off her life and then when the bad
- 14:30Speaker 1: batch comes in, she starts off with a lot of
- 14:33Speaker 1: love and protection, whereas Boba fed already knows how to
- 14:39Speaker 1: fly a ship and plan things with his dad and
- 14:43Speaker 1: has a you know, a solitary life.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Try to murder a Jedi, you know.
- 14:47Speaker 1: You know, you know, all of that's normal Tuesday. And
- 14:51Speaker 1: then of course there's the trauma of seeing your own
- 14:53Speaker 1: father have his head cut off by a Jedi, you know,
- 14:57Speaker 1: that sort of that's got to leave a a psychological mark,
- 15:01Speaker 1: I would imagine. So it's it's one of those things
- 15:05Speaker 1: where I think that's even that's probably more interesting than
- 15:09Speaker 1: trying to tease out any sort of like does Boba
- 15:11Speaker 1: have latent force abilities or you know sort of thing,
- 15:15Speaker 1: because of the fact that I think the Camonoans would
- 15:19Speaker 1: have been very smart and they would not have made
- 15:24Speaker 1: such a tactically questionable move or strategically questionable move as
- 15:29Speaker 1: to give Django fet a son who had any force ability,
- 15:35Speaker 1: like if anything, I would if anything, I think that
- 15:38Speaker 1: they would make extra special sure that as many Midichlorians
- 15:42Speaker 1: as possible removed from Django FET's uh you know, sun
- 15:47Speaker 1: clone as it were. Maybe they took them all out
- 15:49Speaker 1: and they put them all into Omega or something like that.
- 15:53Speaker 3: No, I do I really like the way that you
- 15:56Speaker 3: kind of broke that down because I.
- 16:00Speaker 2: And I think that, you know, as we have.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Looked at Star Wars for so long together, and you know,
- 16:13Speaker 3: one of the Lucasian hallmarks of Star Wars is father relationships.
- 16:20Speaker 3: You know, because of course, like Spielberg dealing with his
- 16:24Speaker 3: parents' divorce, and he's been doing it for like the
- 16:26Speaker 3: last forty years. In film, Lucas has been working out
- 16:30Speaker 3: this idea of what fatherhood is in many different forms,
- 16:33Speaker 3: from his own father to him being a father, right.
- 16:37Speaker 3: And I think that that's actually incredibly beautiful because one
- 16:42Speaker 3: nobody has done it as well, because most people treat
- 16:47Speaker 3: fathers like either unnecessary or they treat them as if
- 16:52Speaker 3: they're idiots, and very few of them actually want to
- 16:57Speaker 3: deal with the ramifications of how in important fathers are
- 17:01Speaker 3: to the lives of their children and the impact that
- 17:04Speaker 3: they can have in all of these different types of
- 17:07Speaker 3: areas which I think is incredibly cool. And so you know,
- 17:12Speaker 3: when you talked about the idea that Okay, so what
- 17:15Speaker 3: we're exploring then, in the character of Omega is the
- 17:22Speaker 3: opposite of what Boba Fet is to Django Fayette, which
- 17:27Speaker 3: is that's kind of like an adoptive kid kind of thing,
- 17:32Speaker 3: but in a very warped and kind of creepy way, right,
- 17:37Speaker 3: Whereas Omega truly is this child who gets adopted by
- 17:43Speaker 3: these clones who had no desire to be a parent
- 17:48Speaker 3: and get this person thrust into their life that they
- 17:52Speaker 3: then can't not care for, that they grow to love
- 17:57Speaker 3: in a way that they never expected even a possibility
- 18:02Speaker 3: for them as clones with people.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Which even you know, when you think about the fact
- 18:08Speaker 1: that they're all, I mean, every character that we're talking
- 18:11Speaker 1: about is cloned from Jengo Fet. Like that you could
- 18:14Speaker 1: even get into like a super weird philosophical sort of
- 18:17Speaker 1: thing where it's like it's all of the aspects of Fet.
- 18:19Speaker 1: But like, while we're sitting here talking and you talk
- 18:22Speaker 1: about you know, we're talking about how even Boba's quasi
- 18:27Speaker 1: adopted sort of thing, there's a story for somebody to write.
- 18:33Speaker 1: And I mean this sincerely I'm not saying this is
- 18:35Speaker 1: a joke. I would love to know did Jango Fet
- 18:45Speaker 1: hold Boba as an infant? Did he take him around
- 18:49Speaker 1: on his hip? Not exactly the way that Mando takes Grogu,
- 18:55Speaker 1: but was Boba Fet carried around like I would love
- 19:00Speaker 1: to see because we're we're talking about Jengo's motivations for
- 19:04Speaker 1: having a child or you know, kind of selfish. The
- 19:06Speaker 1: way he approach being approaches being a father is kind
- 19:09Speaker 1: of selfish, well straight up selfish, but there's still the
- 19:14Speaker 1: seed of he wanted a child, so there had to
- 19:18Speaker 1: be some semblance of love for that child in there.
- 19:22Speaker 1: We might not like the way he expresses it. I
- 19:25Speaker 1: would actually love to see some sort of story about
- 19:30Speaker 1: Boba Fett as a very young child, infant and toddler.
- 19:35Speaker 1: How involved was Django? Was Jango training him to be
- 19:39Speaker 1: a survivalist from the beginning? Did he leave him at
- 19:42Speaker 1: Camono and daycare and he was like, I'll be back
- 19:45Speaker 1: in a little Like how involved was he with Boba
- 19:48Speaker 1: from the beginning, because Boba's very dedicated to his dad.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Yep, yeah, you know, I think I think the interesting
- 19:58Speaker 3: thing about that to me is that that there's probably
- 20:01Speaker 3: a just this kind of warped sense of loyalty and
- 20:08Speaker 3: kind of I would say, probably a warped sense of
- 20:12Speaker 3: love there, right, and not the type of love that
- 20:16Speaker 3: that we would want to champion or you know. And
- 20:20Speaker 3: I think that's again the thing that makes the raising
- 20:27Speaker 3: of these two people so interesting, and we do really
- 20:33Speaker 3: go I think we really do come to see in
- 20:36Speaker 3: the ways in which you know, Lucas has also struggled
- 20:39Speaker 3: with the idea of nature versus nurture in discussion. I mean,
- 20:45Speaker 3: I think one of the things that we've talked about before,
- 20:48Speaker 3: and I talked about on another podcast before as well,
- 20:50Speaker 3: is like you think about there were the way in
- 20:54Speaker 3: which Luke has a completely different upbringing than Anakin. And
- 20:59Speaker 3: yet Luke, for all of his frustrations with his aunt
- 21:02Speaker 3: and uncle, they clearly love him. They have clearly treated
- 21:06Speaker 3: him very well, and as hard as his uncle can
- 21:10Speaker 3: kind of be on him, he's doing it from a
- 21:13Speaker 3: place of wanting to protect Luke because he also knows
- 21:16Speaker 3: what happened to Anakin became Vader. He knows that, and
- 21:22Speaker 3: so again, there's love there, and I think there's there's
- 21:26Speaker 3: just something really beautiful about the way these Lucasian stories
- 21:32Speaker 3: have shown how family can be in all of these
- 21:39Speaker 3: different interesting ways. But all you know, I guess the
- 21:43Speaker 3: Tulsoy line, all good families are the same. It's truly
- 21:48Speaker 3: about the way in which kids are loved by the
- 21:51Speaker 3: people who take care of them, you know, and if
- 21:55Speaker 3: they are really loved by those people, and that those
- 22:00Speaker 3: people are willing to, you know, sacrificially love those kids.
- 22:05Speaker 2: It makes a big difference.
- 22:06Speaker 3: And you know, I think that's the really interesting thing,
- 22:10Speaker 3: because I would I would say that when I look
- 22:13Speaker 3: at the relationship between you know, Anakin and obi Wan,
- 22:18Speaker 3: I think the biggest thing for me there it's not
- 22:20Speaker 3: that he doesn't love Anakin, he's just not quite ready
- 22:24Speaker 3: to be in that position. Yet he's not I don't
- 22:28Speaker 3: know if he truly is able to do the same
- 22:32Speaker 3: thing that those clones are able to do for Omega,
- 22:35Speaker 3: which is just accept the role that Anakin needed him
- 22:40Speaker 3: to play, which was father and not brother.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Well, I think you hit on something right there, and
- 22:46Speaker 1: I was thinking about it while you were talking. Is
- 22:48Speaker 1: like the clones do self separate out into bands of
- 22:53Speaker 1: brothers and they refer to each other as brother and
- 22:56Speaker 1: I think the Batch has a very family type of
- 23:00Speaker 1: feel to them because they are unique within the group.
- 23:05Speaker 1: They're very they're strange. The other clones regard them as
- 23:09Speaker 1: odd they you know, and they don't even really want
- 23:12Speaker 1: to interact with them the way they would other you know,
- 23:16Speaker 1: other clones of the line as it were. But you know,
- 23:19Speaker 1: going through with with that whole thing, I like what
- 23:23Speaker 1: you hit on with obi Wan there, because you're absolutely right,
- 23:26Speaker 1: of course, Like I think we've gone back and forth
- 23:28Speaker 1: about this before where it's like, yeah, obi Wan definitely
- 23:31Speaker 1: wasn't ready and obi Wan wants to be a brother,
- 23:35Speaker 1: and it's like Anakin and obi Wan their relationship is
- 23:39Speaker 1: much more like the bad Batch's relationship with each other. Yes,
- 23:44Speaker 1: but even the Batch had Hunter. So it's like there's
- 23:48Speaker 1: this thing where it's just like you, wow, you know what, Actually,
- 23:52Speaker 1: my my brain just bent around this idea that the
- 23:56Speaker 1: dynamic between Anakin and obi Wan is very similar in
- 24:01Speaker 1: a way to the one between Hunter and cross Hair.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Hm, I can see that. That's a great point. Actually,
- 24:07Speaker 2: I think, well.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I hadn't even thought about that till then. Maybe that
- 24:10Speaker 1: is why we both love cross Hair and Hunter cross
- 24:14Speaker 1: Hair so much. I mean, no, that's not the that
- 24:17Speaker 1: wouldn't be the only reason, right, cross hair exactly. Yeah, No,
- 24:20Speaker 1: I think amazing.
- 24:22Speaker 3: I think that that's a it's a great pull. And
- 24:25Speaker 3: and this is the other, I think incredibly interesting thing
- 24:28Speaker 3: just about the the Amiga relationship with the clones, right,
- 24:32Speaker 3: is that one of the things that ends up happening
- 24:34Speaker 3: then is that.
- 24:36Speaker 2: They each play a.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Father type role in her life, except for Wrecker, who was.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Really more like her brother.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Oh and and so, but that's the interesting thing is
- 24:50Speaker 3: that she gets the opportunity to be able to have both. Right,
- 24:56Speaker 3: she gets the father figures that she needs in the
- 24:59Speaker 3: other clones, but then she also gets the brother figure
- 25:03Speaker 3: that she needs in Wrecker. And that's I think the
- 25:06Speaker 3: beauty of that. And again, like I think that's one
- 25:10Speaker 3: of the things to which you know, Obi Wan could
- 25:16Speaker 3: have gotten there with Anakin if he had realized that,
- 25:22Speaker 3: and and and I think was just even ready emotionally
- 25:26Speaker 3: to be the father figure, but he just wasn't there
- 25:31Speaker 3: emotionally either. I think it's possibly one of the reasons
- 25:34Speaker 3: why you know, you get Yoda not wanting this to
- 25:40Speaker 3: be a thing, because he doesn't. I think he just
- 25:42Speaker 3: senses that what Anakin needs and what obi Wan is
- 25:46Speaker 3: at that moment is just not the right fit.
- 25:49Speaker 2: But what's he going to do?
- 25:52Speaker 1: You know?
- 25:53Speaker 3: And it's also one of those things where I think
- 25:56Speaker 3: it's a where you can kind of begin to see
- 25:58Speaker 3: that the Jedi failing there is not willing to bend
- 26:03Speaker 3: when needed. They had become to brittle with the rules,
- 26:07Speaker 3: and that's kind of what leads us into the place
- 26:09Speaker 3: that we end up in. And so but yeah, I
- 26:12Speaker 3: think I love that you've just brought up this whole
- 26:14Speaker 3: idea with Omega, because I do think it's incredibly interesting
- 26:19Speaker 3: and it really just goes to show the way in
- 26:21Speaker 3: which Star Wars has continued to when it's at its best,
- 26:25Speaker 3: it's continuing to talk about the main thematic elements that
- 26:28Speaker 3: have run through the entire series, uh, and do it
- 26:33Speaker 3: in a way that is fresh and new, and you realize,
- 26:42Speaker 3: like George had nothing to do with the creation of
- 26:45Speaker 3: the bad Batch, but I think George would love it
- 26:48Speaker 3: because those that created the bad Batch truly understand the
- 26:54Speaker 3: mind of George Lucas the way he thinks, and that's
- 26:58Speaker 3: what makes that show feel so.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Ingrained in us.
- 27:04Speaker 3: And in fact, I think it's one of the reasons
- 27:06Speaker 3: we all gravitated towards the Mandalorian because that's also the
- 27:10Speaker 3: same story, right, It's an accidental father like he wasn't
- 27:14Speaker 3: playing on Banded Dad.
- 27:15Speaker 2: That's the last thing on his mind, you know.
- 27:17Speaker 3: And both of those stories then play out in somewhat
- 27:21Speaker 3: similar fashions but also different and give us that aspect
- 27:25Speaker 3: of fatherhood that you know, Star Wars hadn't really talked
- 27:28Speaker 3: about as much.
- 27:30Speaker 1: And I think that something that we were talking about
- 27:34Speaker 1: a second ago tease us up for another very interesting
- 27:39Speaker 1: question that I will ask next time on aggressive negotiations.
- 27:42Speaker 1: But if anybody wants to talk to you more about
- 27:45Speaker 1: Omega and the Bad Batch, where can they find you?
- 27:47Speaker 1: Out there in the wilds of the galaxy far far away,
- 27:52Speaker 1: or as we like to call it, the Internet.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I'm all over social media under the name

- 28:22Speaker 1: Well, bald head is always in fashion, and me and
- 28:25Speaker 1: Recker love to it, love to wear that fashion. And

- 28:48Speaker 1: get ready for our new topic next week, Matt, I
- 28:52Speaker 1: hear the call of bant mistakes at the temple, So
- 28:55Speaker 1: I think it's time to close these negotiations negotiations.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Join the revolution, Join the nerd Party.
