- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I heart radio. Did we see two Super Bowl
- 0:20Speaker 1: teams last night? That is the question as we welcome
- 0:23Speaker 1: you to a Tuesday edition of NFL now on NFL
- 0:27Speaker 1: network from our newsroom in Los Angeles. My name is
- 0:30Speaker 1: Andrew Ceciliano. Also, might we see Dak Prescott back on
- 0:35Speaker 1: the field for the cowboys a lot sooner than expected?
- 0:39Speaker 1: We'll tell you what Jerry Jones had to say today.
- 0:42Speaker 1: That's coming up shortly. Let's get to the highlights, however,
- 0:45Speaker 1: from last night, and we'll start with this one in Philadelphia,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and this is the later of the two kickoffs. Bills
- 0:51Speaker 1: and titans in the second what an opening drive jalen
- 0:55Speaker 1: hurts had against the Vikings and eleven play, eighties, seven
- 0:59Speaker 1: yard drive. He was five for five on that drive
- 1:02Speaker 1: and he ended it with a dance of the end
- 1:04Speaker 1: zone after a three yard touchdown, and the Eagles had
- 1:07Speaker 1: the early lead. He could also throw the football. I
- 1:10Speaker 1: mentioned five for five to open. How about eleven for
- 1:13Speaker 1: eleven to open? Quez wantons fifty three yards. He could
- 1:18Speaker 1: still be running and it is fourteen to nothing. What
- 1:23Speaker 1: a half, not just what a quarter. What a half
- 1:26Speaker 1: for Jalen hurts. How about this longest rushing touchdown of
- 1:33Speaker 1: his career? Twenty six yards. Jalen hurts, twenty six, thirty one, three,
- 1:41Speaker 1: thirty three, nearly four hundred total yards from scrimmage. to
- 1:46Speaker 1: Go ahead and Flex Nice Battle Justin Jefferson. Darius slay,
- 1:51Speaker 1: by the way, the ladder of what said Slagh that
- 1:54Speaker 1: is that his kid is a big Justin Jefferson Fan.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So he had had a big game. He did. He
- 1:59Speaker 1: had two picks. Now Jefferson took the blame later for
- 2:01Speaker 1: this one. said he should have flattened it out. Slay
- 2:03Speaker 1: got it, gave it to Ja. It's hard to immediately
- 2:06Speaker 1: put the ball in his beard. Justin Jefferson had one
- 2:10Speaker 1: catch on six targets and kirk cousins would throw three
- 2:15Speaker 1: interceptions to it, which has mentioned. What the slag, including
- 2:18Speaker 1: this one, jump all the ends out. Not gonna work.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Eagles are gonna win, however, twenty four to seven and
- 2:24Speaker 1: they are two and over for the first time since
- 2:27Speaker 1: two thousand sixteen. We put so much, so much work
- 2:33Speaker 1: in Um to trying to make things efficient. I've been
- 2:37Speaker 1: trying to be efficient Um. You know I said it earlier. No, man,
- 2:41Speaker 1: there's an island. You must draw your strength of others. Um, I.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I can't perform without the other ten on the field. Um,
- 2:49Speaker 1: and the same on the other side. They need me
- 2:51Speaker 1: to do my job for them to eat. So, Um,
- 2:53Speaker 1: it's a collective group. Um. It was a big team win,
- 2:56Speaker 1: a big time team win. Um, there's something that will
- 3:00Speaker 1: definitely enjoy. But we have a short week and we're
- 3:02Speaker 1: head to D C. UM, so we'll len to it
- 3:05Speaker 1: for a little bit and get ready for the next opponent.
- 3:07Speaker 1: We talked about this so much with Jalen, like why
- 3:09Speaker 1: is Jalen going to continue to reach a ceiling? Because
- 3:12Speaker 1: he's tough, he's got high football character, Um, and and
- 3:15Speaker 1: he loves football. And so, uh, he's going to reach
- 3:18Speaker 1: a ceiling. And and it's it's fun watching him, Girl.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I can promise you this much. Our guys, you know
- 3:23Speaker 1: as even postgame, Um, there's a feeling of wanting to
- 3:27Speaker 1: get right back to work. Bad taste in your mouth
- 3:29Speaker 1: is one thing, but we know what our standard is.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And and it starts with me tonight. Um, and and
- 3:35Speaker 1: I gotta make sure I do much, much more to
- 3:37Speaker 1: help our guys play to their standard. Nick Serrianti said,
- 3:42Speaker 1: jalen hurts loves football. He also loves proper punctuation. Thank you, Jalen,
- 3:46Speaker 1: for this tweet. Hurts, don't it? Does it hurt the
- 3:50Speaker 1: Vikings Brian Baldinger, and I think it was a statement
- 3:55Speaker 1: here for the eagles. A lot of people had him
- 3:57Speaker 1: as a super bowl pick during the summer. I'll be
- 4:00Speaker 1: honest with you, I was a little bit reluctant, not
- 4:02Speaker 1: necessarily because jalen hurts. I just didn't see it. But
- 4:06Speaker 1: we saw it last night from hurts. Forget about this. Well,
- 4:10Speaker 1: how he's Angling to draft a quarterback story. That guy
- 4:14Speaker 1: is the guy. Well, he's putting it to rest, Andrew
- 4:17Speaker 1: and like you just have to go through the checklist here.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Let's let's just see what he did. You mentioned it.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Lev plays, eighty seven yards, five or five opening drive
- 4:25Speaker 1: touchdown capped off by a three yard run. You do
- 4:29Speaker 1: another touchdown run on his own. You throw your first
- 4:31Speaker 1: touchdown passing the season on a great read of the
- 4:34Speaker 1: safety to Quez Watkins for fifty three yards, and then
- 4:37Speaker 1: you cap it all off with a two minute drill
- 4:40Speaker 1: that led to a field goal right before the half
- 4:42Speaker 1: of with no time left, right can you, can you
- 4:45Speaker 1: come up with another turn of phrase to describe the
- 4:48Speaker 1: Eagles Defense? Opportunistic, I mean would be a word. I
- 4:52Speaker 1: mean if slay, if Darius slay could catch, you know,
- 4:55Speaker 1: he would have had four interceptions last night. I told
- 4:58Speaker 1: him to go hit the jug machine. But you know
- 5:00Speaker 1: a lot of it was created because of pressure upfront.
- 5:03Speaker 1: But he wanted Jefferson. And you know, when you watch
- 5:08Speaker 1: Darius slay, I don't care if he's back in the day,
- 5:10Speaker 1: when he's in Detroit and going up against Antonio Brown,
- 5:13Speaker 1: you watch him in the scrimmages in the summer, he
- 5:15Speaker 1: wants your number one receiver like he can't wait to
- 5:19Speaker 1: get on it. Like he should have caught that ball.
- 5:20Speaker 1: It was a good break Um, like he he was.
- 5:24Speaker 1: He had five passes Defense tove. Heck, if you get
- 5:27Speaker 1: fifteen in the season you've had a good year. He
- 5:29Speaker 1: had five and one night, including two picks. Uh. You know,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I think he gave the game ball to James Harden.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Maybe James Harden will start hitting his threes now with
- 5:37Speaker 1: the blessing of Darius slay. But for all your sixer
- 5:40Speaker 1: fans out there, that was a great night. Great night
- 5:43Speaker 1: by slay and look, we came in saying if Justin
- 5:46Speaker 1: Jefferson plays like he did last week against Green Bay,
- 5:49Speaker 1: this is gonna be a close ball game deep into
- 5:51Speaker 1: the fourth quarter, and they basically took Justin Jefferson out
- 5:54Speaker 1: of the game because of the play of Darius slay
- 5:57Speaker 1: and the pressure that they put on kirk cousins. This
- 6:00Speaker 1: after the Vikings last week. The offense looked amazing at
- 6:04Speaker 1: home week one against the Green Bay packers. Now, as mentioned,
- 6:07Speaker 1: the Eagles get the commanders and the Vikings get the lions.
- 6:12Speaker 1: We get Brian Balding. Are always turning a phrase of
- 6:14Speaker 1: Baldi's breakdowns. We thank you, Baldi. Baldi back in a
- 6:16Speaker 1: little bit as well to talk about that bill's win
- 6:19Speaker 1: over the titans. Now we're going to talk about that guy,
- 6:21Speaker 1: Dak Prescott. Remember Sunday night, I mean what nine days ago?
- 6:26Speaker 1: The cowboys season was over. Then it's maybe he's going
- 6:28Speaker 1: to be out only six weeks. Pumped the brakes. Now
- 6:31Speaker 1: listen to what Jerry Jones said today. I do know
- 6:39Speaker 1: that I think capture a good airing APP last week.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Everybody recognized I said he will be back sooner than later.
- 6:46Speaker 1: As far as the time and uh, it really could
- 6:50Speaker 1: be minimal of UH, two weeks up here. In my
- 6:57Speaker 1: mind that's very optimistic. That is optimistic, but it could
- 7:02Speaker 1: be and he's got a condis but repair there that
- 7:08Speaker 1: will allow him not to have a lot of fear
- 7:11Speaker 1: of that reagering. It's just a question of the grip.
- 7:14Speaker 1: But it's a big question. It is a big question.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Mike Arre, follow with me now. Our insider today it
- 7:22Speaker 1: went from the season to six weeks to two weeks. Mike,
- 7:28Speaker 1: sounds sounds aggressive. It does, and even Jerry Jones admitting
- 7:32Speaker 1: that that's very optimistic for Dak Prescott to get back.
- 7:35Speaker 1: But the key point in what he said was it's
- 7:37Speaker 1: not a question of re injury. It's just a question
- 7:40Speaker 1: of does he have the strength to grip the football.
- 7:42Speaker 1: So that's why he's saying it could be as soon
- 7:44Speaker 1: as that. I think that is on the very early end.
- 7:48Speaker 1: So that would put him back in time for the
- 7:50Speaker 1: game against the commanders, right October. Two, yes, after that
- 7:54Speaker 1: is when it gets really tough. It's at the rams,
- 7:56Speaker 1: at the Eagles, two away games there. We've kind of
- 7:59Speaker 1: sort of been looking at that eagles game as the
- 8:02Speaker 1: point at which Dak Prescott could get back, because that
- 8:05Speaker 1: and then before weeks, which was optimistic, not very optimistic,
- 8:09Speaker 1: which is the two weeks that Jerry Jones is talking about.
- 8:11Speaker 1: So I'm still somewhere in that uh time frame. But
- 8:15Speaker 1: you know, Dak Prescott is doing everything he possibly can
- 8:17Speaker 1: to get back and the cowboys have seen hand surgeries
- 8:20Speaker 1: and guys come back quickly. Remember when De Marco Murray
- 8:22Speaker 1: got surgery and played that week. So perhaps that's something
- 8:26Speaker 1: along the lines of which every thinking on this one.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Who Color me skeptical here. Not Doubting the Joneses, but
- 8:31Speaker 1: we've heard both Jerry and Stephens say, oh no, it's
- 8:33Speaker 1: gonna be really soon. We haven't heard from Dak yet.
- 8:35Speaker 1: So when we hear from Dak talking about if he
- 8:38Speaker 1: can grab, grasp and grip and throw a football, then
- 8:42Speaker 1: then maybe I'll think of it differently. All Right, Mike,
- 8:45Speaker 1: we had good news this morning on Dane Jackson, the
- 8:47Speaker 1: bill's Corner, who was injured and carded off ambulanced off
- 8:50Speaker 1: the field last night. That is one of the scarier
- 8:56Speaker 1: collisions I think I have I have ever seen on
- 8:59Speaker 1: a football field. Yes, and certainly a scary scene afterward.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Andrew with the ambulance on the old even bills coach
- 9:06Speaker 1: Sean McDermott saying you stop being a coach at that
- 9:08Speaker 1: moment and it's more of a human experience. And we
- 9:12Speaker 1: know how loud that stadium was the whole night. It
- 9:14Speaker 1: was awfully quiet when that happened. Well, since that point,
- 9:17Speaker 1: since that scariest point, we have gotten good news along
- 9:20Speaker 1: the way. The bills saying immediately that Jackson had feeling
- 9:23Speaker 1: and movement in all of his extremities, and then I
- 9:26Speaker 1: reported on Good Morning Football this morning that he was
- 9:28Speaker 1: out of the hospital, and not only out of the hospital,
- 9:29Speaker 1: he walked himself out of the hospital and was home.
- 9:32Speaker 1: And the bills confirming that later this morning, saying that
- 9:36Speaker 1: Jackson was transported to the hospital underwent various tests which
- 9:39Speaker 1: determined there was no major injury to his neck or
- 9:43Speaker 1: spinal cord. He is having further tests today. Obviously there
- 9:45Speaker 1: was a violent hit so there could be other damage
- 9:49Speaker 1: in there, but he did have the x rays, the
- 9:51Speaker 1: CT scan last night that revealed that he had suffered
- 9:54Speaker 1: no major injury. Really good news on Dane Jackson. Will
- 9:57Speaker 1: Continue to update it as we gather information. Amazing News, miraculous.
- 10:02Speaker 1: You could argue after seeing that, and I'm glad we're
- 10:05Speaker 1: now playing it because it makes me squeamish just to
- 10:07Speaker 1: see it. So great that Dane Jackson is home, Mike Evans,
- 10:12Speaker 1: Mike Gara Folo is going to have his appeal heard today.
- 10:15Speaker 1: A little bit later onto the show we'll play some
- 10:18Speaker 1: Tom Brady for you. He calls the suspension ridiculous. What
- 10:22Speaker 1: do we know about the appeal? So Tom Brady basically
- 10:25Speaker 1: serving as a witness in this hearing supporting Mike Evans.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I don't know how much weight that's going to carry
- 10:31Speaker 1: with James Thrash, who will hear the appeal, the former
- 10:34Speaker 1: NFL wide receiver. He and Derek Brooks are appointed jointly
- 10:38Speaker 1: by the NFL and the NFL players association to hear
- 10:42Speaker 1: the appeals in these cases for on field incidents and
- 10:46Speaker 1: in the case of Mike Evans, he has had an
- 10:49Speaker 1: appeal heard by James Thrash before. That was back in.
- 10:53Speaker 1: This is all feeling like very deja Vou back in,
- 10:56Speaker 1: because it was an incident with marshawn lattimore and the
- 10:59Speaker 1: saints that resulted in a one game suspension. It was
- 11:02Speaker 1: upheld by James Thrash so I don't know if that's
- 11:04Speaker 1: that's the early a good or bad sign for Mike Evans.
- 11:08Speaker 1: That thrashes once again hearing it, but we should have
- 11:11Speaker 1: something at some point tomorrow. The buccaneers will be able
- 11:13Speaker 1: to know as they get into their week of practice,
- 11:15Speaker 1: whether Mike Evans will play against the Green Bay packers
- 11:18Speaker 1: or not. Elsewhere with the buccaneers and their wide receivers,
- 11:21Speaker 1: I reported this morning Cole Beasley, the veteran wide receiver,
- 11:25Speaker 1: is joining them as a member of their practice squad
- 11:27Speaker 1: with the expectation that he will be elevated to the
- 11:30Speaker 1: active roster soon, and it may have to be really soon,
- 11:32Speaker 1: especially if Evans is not available this week. Uh they
- 11:35Speaker 1: have a bunch of injuries at the receiver position and
- 11:38Speaker 1: some of those other guys haven't stepped up quite as
- 11:40Speaker 1: they would have liked. And again, if Evans is down,
- 11:43Speaker 1: they're gonna be really shorthanded. So let's see how quickly
- 11:45Speaker 1: Cole Beasley can get up to uh speed on the
- 11:48Speaker 1: buccaneers offense. I know that Tom Brady has been in
- 11:50Speaker 1: communication with him in recent weeks and months in case
- 11:54Speaker 1: an opportunity presented itself for Beasley to join the team.
- 11:57Speaker 1: It did. Beasley jumped at the chance. Other teams have
- 12:01Speaker 1: tried to sign Cole Beasley recently, but he was looking
- 12:03Speaker 1: for the right situation. Catching passes from Tom Brady and
- 12:06Speaker 1: potentially winning a super bowl. Yeah, that's the right situation
- 12:09Speaker 1: for a guy who's already made plenty of money in
- 12:11Speaker 1: his career. Col Beasley now officially a Florida man, feels right.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Thank you, Mike Gara. Follow Meantime, news at a canton
- 12:20Speaker 1: moments ago. We have our new list of nominees for
- 12:24Speaker 1: the class of three. These are the notable first time nominees,
- 12:31Speaker 1: including round of applause for our good friend Joe Thomas.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Fit to complete I think Joe Thomas First Year nominee.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Dwight freedy Syracuse also on that list and our friend
- 12:44Speaker 1: Steve Smith SR back on the list as well. Might
- 12:47Speaker 1: a first time nominee. It's year two Smith senior. As
- 12:52Speaker 1: we continue on NFL now, Oh yeah, the other Monday
- 12:56Speaker 1: night game. Is Anyone gonna Give Buffalo a game? Well,
- 13:03Speaker 1: asked Eric Wood, former bill, who was in the booth.
- 13:06Speaker 1: He's got a book as well. All of that coming up.
- 13:09Speaker 1: It's Tuesday. Okay. Anyone noticed what the buffalo bills are
- 13:19Speaker 1: doing at the home open or fifth straight year they
- 13:21Speaker 1: played the titans. Yeah, it was. It was kind of
- 13:23Speaker 1: crazy there last night. They are beating teams like like
- 13:28Speaker 1: it's college, like they're in the SEC playing these non
- 13:32Speaker 1: CON Games and they're just, you know, paying a million
- 13:35Speaker 1: five to some school and running up the score and
- 13:38Speaker 1: then putting in the second team. Was Just Reggie Gilliam.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Josh Allen said that was his favorite touchdown. fullback touchdown,
- 13:43Speaker 1: you know, broke a couple of tackles and then look
- 13:45Speaker 1: at the hand cannon on this guy, or the arm arrogance,
- 13:48Speaker 1: whatever you wanna call it, back the cross his body
- 13:51Speaker 1: to Stefon diggs there for that touchdown. Dig said a
- 13:54Speaker 1: huge game last week. Get a huge game last night
- 13:56Speaker 1: as well. It's seventeen to seven going to the half.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Surprised it was even that close and they blew the
- 14:02Speaker 1: doors off the titans in the second half. Here's digs
- 14:06Speaker 1: for forty six yards. Trey Avery, rookie at a rutgers undrafted. Uh,
- 14:12Speaker 1: you don't see that in the big ten. Eighth Multi
- 14:15Speaker 1: touchdown game of Stefon Diggs career. Again the cannon digs
- 14:21Speaker 1: twelve for one and three touchdowns. That ties the Career
- 14:27Speaker 1: High Matt Milano, who got a huge PF grade by
- 14:30Speaker 1: the way, best rated defender week two according to PF grades.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Matt Milano who goes forty three yards on the pick
- 14:39Speaker 1: six of Ryan Tannehill. Malik Willis had to come in
- 14:41Speaker 1: and mop up. It was that bad. The bills now
- 14:45Speaker 1: in two games have outscored the defending super bowl champions
- 14:50Speaker 1: and the one seed in the A F C, seventy
- 14:53Speaker 1: two to seventeen. They went fifteen drives without punting and
- 14:58Speaker 1: then Kyle Phillips muffed the punt and they got the
- 15:01Speaker 1: ball back and scored. So I mean the are just
- 15:05Speaker 1: blowing the doors off of people. Eric woold, who was
- 15:08Speaker 1: a new book, will get to his book in a second.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Former Bills Defensive Lineman baldy here as well. Eric Woods
- 15:13Speaker 1: in the booth. Are you guys board in the second
- 15:15Speaker 1: half calling these games? When you're preparing for a Monday
- 15:19Speaker 1: night football game, you don't often prepare blowout coverage. I
- 15:23Speaker 1: called College Football Games for a couple of years. You
- 15:25Speaker 1: do prepare blowout coverages for for those circumstances. You do
- 15:29Speaker 1: not prepare that in the NFL. We were looking ahead
- 15:32Speaker 1: of the dolphins game next week, but I'll say this.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Running up to score on a team that has had
- 15:39Speaker 1: your number the last couple of years. The Titans beat
- 15:41Speaker 1: the bills in each of the last two seasons. Wore
- 15:43Speaker 1: the one seed in the A F C, where the
- 15:44Speaker 1: bills wanted to be last year. They were excited about
- 15:47Speaker 1: that one last night. You know, Eric, when I when
- 15:50Speaker 1: I was around this team in Rochester this summer, the
- 15:53Speaker 1: thing that you, you you couldn't help but notice, was just
- 15:56Speaker 1: a camaraderie, how they all just love working together, going
- 15:59Speaker 1: to work, and you know that feeling when you have it.
- 16:02Speaker 1: But it shows on it shows on Sunday or Monday,
- 16:04Speaker 1: not two. But what what just strikes me is on
- 16:08Speaker 1: all those plays we just show, it's just the level
- 16:11Speaker 1: of detail, of execution, like they're not just having a
- 16:14Speaker 1: good time, they're getting all their work done and it shows,
- 16:17Speaker 1: you know, when they take their test on Game Day. Yeah,
- 16:20Speaker 1: you're exactly right. And one of the concerns heading into
- 16:22Speaker 1: this season was you lose Brian Dave ball to the giants.
- 16:25Speaker 1: That was Josh Allen's offensive coordinator throughout his career. Does
- 16:28Speaker 1: that change Josh Allen's progression. This this unprecedented trajectory that
- 16:33Speaker 1: Josh Allen Career has been on, since being last in
- 16:36Speaker 1: the League in completion percentage his first two years in
- 16:38Speaker 1: the League to where he stands now. Is the favorite
- 16:41Speaker 1: to be the M v P of the League. And
- 16:42Speaker 1: so the concern was with Brian Dave Ball leaving and
- 16:45Speaker 1: Ken Dorsey takes over and through to two games they
- 16:48Speaker 1: are executing on an extremely high rate and when you
- 16:52Speaker 1: look at the numbers that the bills are putting up,
- 16:54Speaker 1: they're they're running out the clock against the rams in
- 16:56Speaker 1: the first game and they only played essentially their starters
- 16:59Speaker 1: two and a half quarters last night. And so, uh,
- 17:02Speaker 1: they are off to one heck of a start. You
- 17:05Speaker 1: know what strikes me, and maybe it's the browns fan
- 17:07Speaker 1: in me, Eric always looking back. What strikes me, and
- 17:10Speaker 1: we'll get to the dolphins in the second is, if
- 17:12Speaker 1: you look at eighteen, how Josh Allen could have changed
- 17:16Speaker 1: the fortunes of the browns at one, the giant set
- 17:19Speaker 1: to the jets set three, the broncos at five, the
- 17:24Speaker 1: cults at six, where those franchises would be right now?
- 17:28Speaker 1: I mean they all have varying degrees of success right now.
- 17:30Speaker 1: But where they would be, Eric, if they had Josh Allen? Yeah,
- 17:35Speaker 1: and it's interesting to say. Um, with the stability that
- 17:38Speaker 1: Josh has had in Buffalo, would any of those other
- 17:40Speaker 1: quarterbacks had a great career as well if Baker Mayfield's
- 17:44Speaker 1: not playing for so many different offensive coordinators? Sam Donald
- 17:46Speaker 1: as well? And it's easy for the bills to say
- 17:49Speaker 1: now they would have taken Josh Allen One if they
- 17:52Speaker 1: had that opportunity. But who knows, maybe they take the
- 17:54Speaker 1: safer route and take a Baker Mayfield or Sam Donald
- 17:57Speaker 1: that came from much bigger schools and we're more proven
- 18:00Speaker 1: coming out of college. You know, Eric, I know that
- 18:03Speaker 1: Jim Kelly is was on the field last night. He's
- 18:05Speaker 1: in the building now and obviously everybody in western New
- 18:08Speaker 1: York for members Jim and those great teams of Marv leavy.
- 18:11Speaker 1: But I feel like you could put there's a lot
- 18:14Speaker 1: of great quarterbacks in this league, but Josh it's just
- 18:17Speaker 1: a perfect fit in that city with that bills Mafia.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I don't think anything else, any other player could fit
- 18:25Speaker 1: quite like Josh and how he embraces all of it
- 18:29Speaker 1: and everything that goes with that position. Yeah, and that's
- 18:31Speaker 1: something you have to consider when you're taking a quarterback
- 18:33Speaker 1: and you have a guy that you want to lead
- 18:35Speaker 1: your franchise for a decade or more, you have to
- 18:38Speaker 1: understand that personality traits as well. And Josh Allen comes
- 18:41Speaker 1: in the League embraces bills Mafia. They embrace him back,
- 18:45Speaker 1: but they wanted to see the on field production and
- 18:47Speaker 1: what Josh has done in the community through the Patricia
- 18:49Speaker 1: Allen Fund, which is in the honor of his grandmother,
- 18:52Speaker 1: which has made a difference in so many lives down
- 18:55Speaker 1: at the children's Hospital. The way he's out and about
- 18:57Speaker 1: in the community. Uh, he is truly a perfect fit
- 19:00Speaker 1: for that organization. And then for my time playing for
- 19:04Speaker 1: the bills, for not on yours. kind of that gap
- 19:06Speaker 1: between those, uh, that super bowl run and and now
- 19:10Speaker 1: what this where the bills around now? Buffalo was not
- 19:13Speaker 1: a desirable destination for free agents, for draft picks. Well, now,
- 19:17Speaker 1: because you have a Josh Allen, because the Camaraderie you
- 19:20Speaker 1: talked about before, Baldi, people are wanting to come to buffalo.
- 19:23Speaker 1: That's how you go out and sign a future hall
- 19:25Speaker 1: of Famer in Von Miller, who leaves the defending Super
- 19:28Speaker 1: Bowl champions with the ramps and comes all the way
- 19:30Speaker 1: across the country to a small market in buffalo because
- 19:33Speaker 1: he wants to be a part of this and be
- 19:35Speaker 1: a part of now the first bills dolphins matchup where
- 19:38Speaker 1: each team is two and oh are better in thirty years.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Don't want to gloss over that game, by the way.
- 19:43Speaker 1: May Reign pack accordingly. Eric. I want to get to
- 19:46Speaker 1: your book. Here you have a podcast called what's next,
- 19:49Speaker 1: talking about your nine years with the bills. You had
- 19:51Speaker 1: a neck injury, you had to retire, but you turn
- 19:53Speaker 1: that into a positive thing now in broadcasting and that
- 19:55Speaker 1: podcast has turned into a book tackle what's next for athletes,
- 20:01Speaker 1: for former football players, about how they deal with the
- 20:03Speaker 1: next stage in life. Tell me how your stories translate
- 20:08Speaker 1: onto the paper now in the book. Yeah, and and
- 20:10Speaker 1: and it applies to former athletes, but I think for
- 20:13Speaker 1: everyone out there you're constantly in a season of transition
- 20:16Speaker 1: if you want to make your tomorrow better than it
- 20:18Speaker 1: is today. So the lessons that I got from so
- 20:21Speaker 1: many incredible guests, my podcast mentors that I've had in
- 20:24Speaker 1: my life, those uh stories, those lessons are littered throughout
- 20:28Speaker 1: this book, mixed in with some football stories and in
- 20:31Speaker 1: in some fun bill stuff as well, but any football
- 20:35Speaker 1: fan will love it. But it's a personal development book
- 20:37Speaker 1: by nature and I think that anybody reading it will
- 20:40Speaker 1: be able to grow from reading it, from hearing the
- 20:42Speaker 1: lessons that are written in those pages. No, it's great stuff,
- 20:45Speaker 1: really really good stuff here, investing off the field stuff, health.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I mean, you look amazing. You're one of the old
- 20:51Speaker 1: linement to drop all the way. Well done. The book
- 20:54Speaker 1: is called once again tackle. What's next? From bill's broadcaster
- 20:58Speaker 1: and former old Lineman, Eric would, on his way to
- 21:00Speaker 1: Miami for a big matchup coming up on Sunday. Eric,
- 21:03Speaker 1: great to have you on continued success. Yeah, thanks for
- 21:06Speaker 1: having me on. Anytime you guys need me, you know
- 21:08Speaker 1: I'll come on. Let's do it against soon. Eric would.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Everybody Jared Dan Hans, who's making guttural sounds off camera.
- 21:17Speaker 1: He is now here, as he is every Tuesday with
- 21:20Speaker 1: the new power rankings, officially a podcast now with a
- 21:22Speaker 1: great colleen Wolf Dan. You've got the niners losing a
- 21:25Speaker 1: starting quarterback and moving into your top ten. Has that
- 21:30Speaker 1: ever happened? I don't think so. I think jeff nailed
- 21:33Speaker 1: it with talking about the wide open nature of the NFC.
- 21:35Speaker 1: It's a little sloppy and you really can see San
- 21:38Speaker 1: Francisco lost their starting quarterback and gained stability. It's I
- 21:43Speaker 1: know it's strange, but it's also true and I thought
- 21:46Speaker 1: it was so telling when Garoppolo went in on the
- 21:48Speaker 1: qb sneak for the score and he saw the replays
- 21:51Speaker 1: on the Fox cameras with him in the big grin
- 21:53Speaker 1: on his face and all the offensive line on the
- 21:56Speaker 1: laughing pat him on the head. It's not a shot
- 21:59Speaker 1: against Trey Lance, but you know there was some indecision
- 22:02Speaker 1: in that locker room about do we trust this guy?
- 22:04Speaker 1: We're so ready for the Super Bowl. Jimmy g they
- 22:06Speaker 1: trust and they love him, and now he's there. It's
- 22:09Speaker 1: a good spot for San Francisco. Bad News for Lance, obviously,
- 22:12Speaker 1: but they're gonna be okay. I think you have the eagles.
- 22:14Speaker 1: That's not only number three overall but the best team
- 22:16Speaker 1: in the NFC. Yeah, and I mean the same thing
- 22:20Speaker 1: with with Jalen hurts, this idea that he would take
- 22:23Speaker 1: this type of leap, but it also makes sense. It
- 22:25Speaker 1: is year three. It's a progression, but I think even
- 22:29Speaker 1: the most optimistic eagles fans didn't think he would be
- 22:31Speaker 1: this lights out as a passer of the football. He's
- 22:34Speaker 1: so comfortable in the pocket. The accuracy is uncanny and
- 22:39Speaker 1: you're seeing as a runner, and it's the only thing
- 22:41Speaker 1: that makes me nervous, Andrew, is the running of the
- 22:43Speaker 1: football and the idea that you're gonna run through tackles,
- 22:46Speaker 1: you're gonna get those extra yards. You worry about what
- 22:49Speaker 1: could happen. We just saw it happen with Trey Lance
- 22:51Speaker 1: in a similar situation. But other than that, everything is
- 22:54Speaker 1: coming up eagles. With Jalen hurts. That's just the kind
- 22:56Speaker 1: of a loaded roster with a great offensive line and
- 22:59Speaker 1: playmakers and now a quarterback making the leap. Look out. Well,
- 23:02Speaker 1: Josh Allen's running quarterback as well. You have them and
- 23:04Speaker 1: numb one. You also have the lions. Dan, the lions
- 23:08Speaker 1: up ten to sixteen. You're buying the lions. This is
- 23:12Speaker 1: not just a hard knocks bounce. The hard knocks bounce
- 23:17Speaker 1: cannot be. So it is a hard knocks maybe a
- 23:20Speaker 1: little bit because I I really really enjoyed getting to
- 23:24Speaker 1: know this lions team, but then you watch the game
- 23:27Speaker 1: and it's like no, there. I think the problem is
- 23:29Speaker 1: a lot of people, you look sixteen. What are the
- 23:31Speaker 1: Lions doing? They're like, what is wrong with this guy?
- 23:34Speaker 1: But they're not the lions that you remember. They're no
- 23:37Speaker 1: longer the lovable loser lions. They're a team with an offense,
- 23:41Speaker 1: with a legitimate number one wide receiver, running back knocking
- 23:45Speaker 1: on the door the superstar GLOB and a quarterback who
- 23:48Speaker 1: we forget about it because his ending in Los Angeles
- 23:51Speaker 1: was not pretty. If you give him time and you
- 23:53Speaker 1: surround with weapons, he can get the job done. Do
- 23:56Speaker 1: I trust the defense yet? No, I do not trust
- 23:59Speaker 1: the defense, but this offense is going to score points.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Seventy points in two weeks pretty good. Thirty five or
- 24:08Speaker 1: more in three straight games for the lions, going back
- 24:10Speaker 1: to last year, for the first time since nineteen fifty three,
- 24:13Speaker 1: when Bobby Lane went back to back NFL championships. The colts. Meantime,
- 24:17Speaker 1: they're not the worst team in football, but you could
- 24:19Speaker 1: argue that they have played the two worst games this year.
- 24:23Speaker 1: And you have India Twenty Six. You know the gang
- 24:26Speaker 1: on a good morning football, Kyle and from they gave
- 24:30Speaker 1: me a lot of heat this morning because they said
- 24:32Speaker 1: how dare you? That was essentially how I took it
- 24:34Speaker 1: not have. The cults is thirty two and I have
- 24:36Speaker 1: them down to twenty six. And Andrew I had him
- 24:38Speaker 1: at twelve two weeks ago. So that is a steep drop.
- 24:42Speaker 1: But I'm not ready to sell out to the point
- 24:44Speaker 1: where it's like this is the worst team in football.
- 24:47Speaker 1: They still have Matt Ryan. The offensive line is underperforming,
- 24:50Speaker 1: but it should be better. They're gonna get Shack Leonard Back.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Michael Pittman is so important for an offense that's kind
- 24:56Speaker 1: of be reft of big time playmakers. I think it's
- 24:58Speaker 1: there for them to figure some things out. But yeah,
- 25:01Speaker 1: if you lose again and they get the chiefs this week,
- 25:03Speaker 1: they get the chiefs and it's and bad. Yes, this is.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It's within the realm of reason that this could be
- 25:10Speaker 1: a thirty two team, which is outrageous. They are down
- 25:14Speaker 1: eleven from fifteen to twenty six. The seahawks are down
- 25:17Speaker 1: six from eighteen to twenty four. Also among the big
- 25:21Speaker 1: risers the cardinals up eight, the jets up seven. We're
- 25:25Speaker 1: not touching the jets today. Results from my base of mind, results.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Look at this hand zoo says results, not receipts. Last
- 25:33Speaker 1: week and look what the jets do actually the power
- 25:36Speaker 1: ranking is not the power standings. A podcast Dan Hanss
- 25:40Speaker 1: and colleen wolf every week. Thank you Dan. Speaking of
- 25:44Speaker 1: the jets, they were one of those teams that are
- 25:46Speaker 1: just a crazy, bonkers the math telling you, the math
- 25:50Speaker 1: tells you it can't happen kind of finishes. But why
- 25:53Speaker 1: are we paying attention to the math? That's next. RUN
- 25:57Speaker 1: IT UP, run it up, run it up. Man, you
- 26:02Speaker 1: thought that the Dolphins Ravens game was big this past Sunday.
- 26:07Speaker 1: About the dolphins and the bills coming up this week,
- 26:10Speaker 1: because the two that we saw in Baltimore is a
- 26:14Speaker 1: different tour. It isn't just the dink and dunk tour right,
- 26:19Speaker 1: the quick game, the screen all that. The R P
- 26:22Speaker 1: O two has already hit more deep shots, and these
- 26:26Speaker 1: are next chance stats powered by a w s through
- 26:29Speaker 1: two games. Then he did all of last season. Camp Wolf,
- 26:34Speaker 1: Cam Wolf, easy for me to say on Camp Live
- 26:37Speaker 1: with us now in Miami. Bigger statement with the wins Sunday,
- 26:40Speaker 1: the dolphins or the juggernaut bills. Andrew's gotta be a
- 26:45Speaker 1: dolphins right. You're you're trying to knock you out, the
- 26:47Speaker 1: heavyweight champ of the world of the A F C
- 26:49Speaker 1: East and the bills. And Look, we all saw what
- 26:51Speaker 1: to a tuggle by Loa and the dolphins did last week.
- 26:54Speaker 1: The big question here is can they do it again?
- 26:56Speaker 1: The bills have won twenty straight regular season games by
- 26:59Speaker 1: double digits, and so we go into this game all
- 27:02Speaker 1: we can expect is for them to win by double digits. Right,
- 27:05Speaker 1: but I'm pumped to be at this game this weekend.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of interest here. I think
- 27:09Speaker 1: the dolphins have a shot here. They're playing at home
- 27:12Speaker 1: in a very humid Miami temperature not as hot as
- 27:15Speaker 1: it was last week. There's raining the forecast, but they've
- 27:18Speaker 1: got a chance, just a chance, that they play their
- 27:20Speaker 1: best ball. And one thing I'm really eager to see
- 27:22Speaker 1: is is you know how to handles the pressure of
- 27:26Speaker 1: trying to do it again and stepping up. Tyreek kill
- 27:28Speaker 1: and Jay Len waddle had amazing days and they're potentially
- 27:32Speaker 1: playing a banged up bill secondary. We all saw what
- 27:34Speaker 1: happened to Dame Jackson this weekend. Good news is he's
- 27:37Speaker 1: gonna be okay, but they're gonna play two rookie cornerbacks
- 27:40Speaker 1: in Kyer Elam and Kristen Benford, against those corners. So
- 27:43Speaker 1: I think the dolphins have to play really good on
- 27:45Speaker 1: the defensive side of the ball. secondaries gotta play better
- 27:48Speaker 1: than they did last week. But this game is a
- 27:50Speaker 1: huge one for the A F C East. We all
- 27:52Speaker 1: saw the bills and how they've strengthened this team, but
- 27:55Speaker 1: the dolphins have the best chance of knocking them off
- 27:58Speaker 1: and they've got their chance at home Sunday well, because
- 28:00Speaker 1: they have the speed. I mean that speed that we
- 28:02Speaker 1: saw in Baltimore. We saw a wave one camp that
- 28:04Speaker 1: that hacks his defenses. Yeah, yeah, Andrew. You look at
- 28:10Speaker 1: this matchup, they have the three best or top receivers
- 28:13Speaker 1: in yardage in the league so far this year, tyreek Hill,
- 28:16Speaker 1: Stefan Diggs Jalen waddle man. I'm praying for defensive backs.
- 28:20Speaker 1: This is why that's the hardest position to play in
- 28:22Speaker 1: football outside of quarterback. Look, it's gonna be a route
- 28:24Speaker 1: running clinic. We saw Stefan Diggs last night rounding up
- 28:27Speaker 1: Caleb Farley all day. It's gonna be a big battle
- 28:30Speaker 1: for Xavian Howard and trying to challenge him. He had
- 28:32Speaker 1: a little bit of a rough day against Rashod Bateman
- 28:34Speaker 1: and the Ravens last week. They're gonna need him to
- 28:36Speaker 1: step up his game. And then the other guys, tyreek
- 28:38Speaker 1: Hill and Jalen waddle. Those guys had over three hundred
- 28:41Speaker 1: and forty yards together, as I mentioned, playing potentially ricky corners.
- 28:45Speaker 1: There could be more records set and what should be
- 28:47Speaker 1: a shootout game in Miami. And so we all talked
- 28:49Speaker 1: about the quarterbacks two and Josh Allen. I'm eager to
- 28:51Speaker 1: see these receivers on Sunday. Maybe the rain could slow
- 28:55Speaker 1: somebody down Sunday in Miami. Cam Wolf ahead of the
- 28:58Speaker 1: dolphins in the bills. Thank you, Cam. Alright, dolphins had
- 29:03Speaker 1: one of those amazing comebacks here. Just think it out loud.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I love me some analytics. I'm not afraid of math.
- 29:08Speaker 1: The more info the better for you at home and
- 29:10Speaker 1: for the coaches making decisions in the moment on the sideline.
- 29:14Speaker 1: But there's one stat that I am done with and
- 29:16Speaker 1: I am sorry, next Gen people, I'm really sorry. It's
- 29:20Speaker 1: win probability. Please stop it, because last week we were
- 29:25Speaker 1: told the jets had a point three win probability when
- 29:29Speaker 1: they were down thirteen to the buck to go. So
- 29:31Speaker 1: what does that take into account that the Brown secondary
- 29:34Speaker 1: gifted the panthers a couple of touchdowns with busted coverages
- 29:36Speaker 1: week one, and then they did the same thing against
- 29:39Speaker 1: the jets. Of course they were going to do that.
- 29:41Speaker 1: The dolphins were just talking about them. They were down
- 29:44Speaker 1: twenty one in the fourth. One point three win probability,
- 29:49Speaker 1: but TA was dealing and Tyreek kill was really fast
- 29:52Speaker 1: and all the ravens corners. They're injured. So the dolphins one.
- 29:55Speaker 1: How about the cardinals? Down Twenty and nothing. Win Probability?
- 30:00Speaker 1: One point seven percent, but Kyler Murray is a superhero
- 30:05Speaker 1: and the card does one. And I know I sound
- 30:07Speaker 1: like an old man shouting on my lawn or at
- 30:11Speaker 1: my desk. The analytics people will say that I'm missing
- 30:14Speaker 1: the point when probability should be used to celebrate how
- 30:17Speaker 1: special those comebacks were, but sometimes we get caught up
- 30:20Speaker 1: in the numbers when we should be celebrating the amazing
- 30:23Speaker 1: plays and the players that made those plays. So moving forward, please,
- 30:28Speaker 1: to quote the great philosopher Han Solo, never tell me
- 30:33Speaker 1: the wind probability, just thinking out. NFL now is a
