- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: I love your Cleveland and I love you Ohio and I'm very pleasant.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the big play Cleveland show Thursday edition live on YouTube It's great to have you with us.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: I am Bruce Brennan along with Matt Fontana and Ryan Tyler and wow Do we have a action-packed show in store for you today the first place Cleveland garden?
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah The last place Cleveland Browns news coming
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: the entire NFL college football are weekly picks and here we go guys great to have you with me and of course our audience let's start with the guardians what a series with the Chicago white sex this is playoff baseball yes no question about it and at 75 as 78 and 75 now we have
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: Since July 4th, we had beaten Chicago on the night before on July 4th, we woke up and we were in first place.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Messick did his job, 6 innings, 3 runs 7 hits, 8 strikeouts, but help and was the hero.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Another one of the least expected guys to be a hero,
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: with the three run home run in the sixth inning.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Um, the white socks do own the tie breaker bake based on their opening night victory against us in this three game series.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: But with this win, the guardians take a game in a half lead over Houston and Texas for the second seed in the
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: for our team if we can hold on and stay above in the ALDS.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: Now at 77, Cleveland, get this.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: Cleveland is 77 and 47 in the month of September since 2022.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't tell you how many times I run into people.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, one, they're throw, throw, throw and every single gear here
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: the month of August and September, and particularly September, this young team catches fire.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: They're not on fire.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't say that they're on fire, but going back into first place here is so significant with only nine games remaining.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: And these September games are all like playoff games, especially this series, what the white socks, as I said, the games we have three games with the athletics here in Cleveland this weekend.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: Then we go to Boston for three and conclude with three in Kansas City to finish.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Chicago.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: starts a series, a four-game series at home tonight, against the Detroit Tigers, who are merely playing the role of spoiler.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then three at Kansas City, and home for three against Colorado.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, for the wild card, Toronto, when Texas begin a three-game series tonight, in Texas, and getting back to Houston, who were trying to hold off, you know, when the second seed, so we get a buy,
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a big series over the weekend, though, with the first place Atlanta Braves.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's exciting.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing like playoff baseball, watch the whole game yesterday, guys.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: It was thrilling, and the least expected guy to be a hero helping.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_02]: absolutely and I mean it's tough to Bruce because these games they're they're not easy you know they're they're not an easy watch I can't imagine they're an easy one uh to play in either because Parker Messick was just dealing in that game to start and then again it's just the kind of he had to get around that you know helping we made the mistake at the runner and they were okay out then there was bases loaded you get out of that and then of course Tommy fam which I don't know if you heard that story he was in an elevator with the GM for the white socks
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: and he goes why don't you call me up today because we're going to call him up on Friday and he goes well alright calls him up puts him in the line up bad and clean up and hits a three run home run uh to to put them up but this team is building that
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: lack of quits.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: I can't think of a better word.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: They're building this.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: We're not out of any of these games.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's going to obviously serve us well in the playoffs and something I love your take on this Bruce is that with that record that you talked about in September.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of that was us running down teams like huge deficit.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: We're in this thing.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I wonder if that's going to help us come to play off because we don't have to exert every little bit that we can.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we need to win every game and it's important.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: But it's not like you started September and had to win every single little game that you've played.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like I feel like we're getting good confidence.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: We're having guys believe, but we're also not...
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: Exerting every little force that we have to get and they're finding ways to win which is fun And yeah, scoreboard watching today's gonna be huge today's gonna be huge not around playing Kids these kids are learning on the fly.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I'm sorry amazing the experience They're picking up and let alone if we do get into the postseason regardless of getting eliminated early or as long as they God willing able to go this they're I've always said for decades guys.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: There is a
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: absolutely no substitute for playoff experience.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: How about Rocky?
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Bruce.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so glad you brought him up.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to interrupt you because we had this conversation yesterday.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: Bruce, Rokio has been amazing and not just this year, but in the clutch really his whole career, Bruce.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's clutch something that is a skill or do you think clutch is just something that is unrepeatable and just I don't want to use the word magic, but it does feel like the Cleveland Guardians are getting magic right now out of Rokio.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's a great point.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: How do you explain it other than God given?
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: Some guys are just great, clutch performers.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: We can name them throughout the years.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: I just did a personal appearance this summer out in Youngstown at the Lake Club with Gary Sheffield.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: He was a clutch hitter, Barry Bonds, a clutch hitter, Albert Bell.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: right here in Cleveland was a clutch hitter you have them throughout the history of baseball it's on canny how they do it and the the most pressurized situation is when they rise to the occasion uh two out late and in clutch hit
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: Man, oh man, that is exciting baseball.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: It is when he steps in there, he's got to be feeling it.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: You know, in baseball, why I love the game so much, is if you ever played it even at the lowest level or whenever you play, you stepped in that box and it was you versus the pitcher.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_02]: That was it.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: And you looked at them and just you knew sometimes there were guys on them.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: And this guy's got my number or you stepped in there and you go, I smoked this guy.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: And Rokio stepping in there, you add the other elements of the moment.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: and he says I don't care about that picture I'm going to own this moment over here that is what he is building there and it was so funny where somebody had a great tweet they go who would have ever thought that you'd be afraid to hit the nine guy in the line up coming up and they go you you don't want to see Brian rokyo in those minutes even as the nine hitter which is impressive and no to a lot of
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, on hell's heard again and on hell out and in these young guy.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you, Bazana Oh, how good is he been lately Incredible absolutely incredible.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: I said Matt when he came first of all when I saw him in the world baseball classic playing for Australia I said you know, I can hardly wait to see him in the big leagues with Cleveland because I Believe he's going to be a superstar.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: I really do yeah.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: He just looks like a ball player.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's one of these guys
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: And as he gets more and more experience with Major League pitching, he's one of these guys that looks good even when he strikes out.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because he takes out good.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: He even looks like he steps into that bad response like Matt's talking about he looks like a ball player.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm up in opposing pitcher and he's going to get better and better and better and now too.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, now is one, I was listening to Hamian Rose, you talk about it and I tell you there are people, I don't know what's the organization, so you want to take that with a grain of salt, they're going to love their guys, which I get it.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: But they were having a discussion about there are people in that organization that 100% believe that on-hell,
- 8:25[SPEAKER_02]: has superstar potential.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: And you're like, this isn't a first overall pick like Travis Pazana.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_02]: He was an undrafted free aid or I think even traded for it from now.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying but like you look at on hell and out and there are people that go, he has, I know with Rokey or people say that or, or no, it's, um, he's got Gabriel Ares.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: They go, it's got all the tools.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's got it all.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: They say that about him now, but you see it.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: You see points in this, this young kid's career.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's 22 years old.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: He turned 22 in May.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: and they are over the moon about him and I'm gonna steal your line because I very much agree with it this year is going to be exciting wait for the next three years with this baseball team and they're all locked into concessions going on and here's another one here's another one next year Rafi Velesquez is going to be the best prospect of the whole bunchy's a power hitter
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: and let alone delotter, and all the others too.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it is just amazing how this shift from a pitching factor, yeah, I was just thinking that.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's incredible under Antonetti and Shernie's watch that the development, the drafting number once scouting, it starts with scouting, and then the drafting, and then the development of these drafts.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: and especially for them to kind of realize that this is the shift in baseball and we all look at the Yankees and we all look at some of these teams that are just power to hitting and they spend a bunch of money and all that.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: But I think for them to kind of be on the the forefront of that to realize like yeah pitching is important.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: Gavin Williams is beast, Parker Messick's really good, Kate Smith's elite.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: But you need to hit.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: You have got to hit in today's baseball.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: And especially something as you know, as minor of them getting rid of the shift.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: That is another move getting rid of spider-tack.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: These are all things that should be advantages to the hitters because baseball knows it's better for the game when you're putting up runs and you're hitting.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: And that is the direction of the game right now.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: It was getting carried away with that shift.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_02]: I know it was and even the same thing with like just the pictures of the spider-tack and all that like it was on baseball's the hardest sport as it is And he will hey when you're giving unfair advantage of the pitchers It's an unplayable game and they've made the right corrections I think towards trying to even it out as best you can knowing it will never be even but the hitting is where this team is now a strength Yeah, and it's gonna be fun
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, I've said this throughout all the years.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: And it's so true, you let you alluded to it earlier when you step into that better spots.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's you against that picture.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: Think about it.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: The hardest individual skill of the four major sports is hitting major league pitching.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: Think about it.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: If you are a point guard or a shooting forward in basketball and you're shooting 30%.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: you're out of a job.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: If you're a quarterback and your completion percentage is 30% you are out of a job.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's totally in hockey and you're only stopping 30% of your shots on goal.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: You're out of a job.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're hitting 30% against major league pitching, not only are you in all star, but possibly a hall of fame.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: And especially with now that you're seeing the, you know, the extra base hits and just putting the ball and play has become even that much more important on when does that really show up though October when you got guys up there sure I want the home runs, but I'm never going to discount a team like the guardians that have just found at this point.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: ways to put the ball in play ways to get runners on and manufacture and find the ways to do it.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's like, you know, he talked about bizarre one of my favorite things when he does a little slap hit when he's just getting it the other way.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: No, Juan has been so good about that.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: But there's even those little they call it the cricket swing as you can obviously is Australian, but he's got that little like cricket go and he just slaps it out to left field.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: The ball in play is going to be super important and and I do think that there is a sense around this team Bruce that they want to win the central they know.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: If you look at fan graphs, the AL playoff race is almost all but set.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's only a game between Texas and the Astros, but the way the fan graphs looks at it, you know the three teams coming out of the east, you know the two teams coming out of the central, and the final one will most likely be the Astros, what they really feel like, but you think about them wanting to get that AL central.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the vibe that I got in that series.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: I love to sweep him.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't happen.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: You got two out of three.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: And now to get in against Oakland this weekend, which I'm going to say sweep.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_02]: You got to have it.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then for the last two games of the series, like I think they really want to win the central.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be fun.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: I want to ask you guys this because that brings up a great point.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: How big is it to win the division just a wild card considering how many young players are on this team and they can get that energy playing at home But then I kind of look at this point the guardians are 30 and 40 at home versus 40 and 35 on the road So Bruce will start with you how important do you think it is if that all feel the van
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's my, yeah, that's my important thing it is and hockey football and basketball by far.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hockey, I would say you said at basketball home court advantages huge and I think also when the NFL not quite as much in the NHL but in baseball, look at it this way.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: The best teams in baseball lose 60 some games usually per year.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of them are at home.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: So look at it that way and the worst teams in baseball will win 60 some games and a lot of them around the road.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I think in baseball, you have to put things in perspective in that regard.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think the time off, I know a lot of people get worried about that.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think this team could use that, especially with some of the nagging injuries that you've been dealing with.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm kind of looking if they get in and get the bite.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: If they get the bite, yeah, I think a little time off would do them well.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: Just let alone the pictures.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: Especially not even just hey we got a void of series because then we've kind of faltered in the opening series You know in the playoffs recently.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: I would just look at a 100% of Hozay I know he had a great game yesterday.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: Let's not forget him too.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: That double that he smacked like you could feel the vibe But to get that hand a little rest the water on hell just let these guys sit down for a couple games let alone if we somehow clinch They all central
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: You know, in those last couple games against Kansas City, maybe two of them don't matter.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: You can rest some guys there.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think this team is veteran enough, they can handle the time off.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, home field advantage aside, I would love to get the buy just to get these guys a little rest.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, go guards.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: Let's, let's go get them in our next segment.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be the Browns and the NFL as we've only just begun with the Big Play Cleveland Show Thursday edition on YouTube.

- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: It meets affordability.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: question.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: Are the browns striving to prove they're the worst team in the national football league?
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: Because if that's the case, they are well on their way.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm anxious to hear my partners take on this opening game, but let me just say my piece here and I'll turn it over to these bowls.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't just Watson that was terrible.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was the, how about the defense?
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: Where was this great defense that most everybody thinks that the Browns possess?
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence dissected this so-called top ranked unit, like a super talented scientist.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: 18 of 24 for Lawrence 245 yards, four touchdowns, zero picks for an amazing.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: 150.6 quarterback rating against our vaulted defense.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: Also, I warned during the preseason that if the Browns can't run the football, look out.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: It will mean in passing situations that the defense can teel off on whoever is in the corner back.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't matter.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's a 2.7-yard's per carry average as a result.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: Watson was sacked five times and hit way more often.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: And that's that all.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: How about the lack of discipline?
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: Cleveland was penalized 11 times for 75 yards, including the play clock expiring twice.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there are some bad high school teams that don't even do that.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: That Cleveland was one for eight on third down.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's pathetic.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: And finally, Tadmunkin,
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: becomes the 12th consecutive Cleveland head coach to lose his first game.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: That dates back to Bud Carson in 1989.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: Since 99, Cleveland is three and 24 and one in season openers.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_02]: It was bad all around.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: I thought the tackling was bad, the offensive line.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: I know they gave, it's a Sean Watson time, which was crazy to Sean Watson and the third most amount of time to pass and still had five sacks in that game.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand that.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: The same thing in the Bear's Priesties in game, I was telling you.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't understand how you can, how you can lead the league in time to throw.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: He can't see the field.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: He can't see the field.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: Have the worst EPA per play.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: He can't see the field anymore.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's mine, Bob.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: He can't, I have no other answer, guys.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: He cannot see the field anymore.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: Then Todd Munkin comes out and he goes, well, I don't want to get the concepts down.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: I go, what do you mean he's got to get the concepts down?
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I can't believe this verse that I'm actually saying this, because I thought Watson was going to start because of his veteran play and all he's shown me is that he has completely forgot how to play football.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like the Sean Watson doesn't know how to play football anymore.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: Now, there's a report, Jason Locken for us, part of our big play family here.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: he had a really interesting piece today about to Sean Watson and I'm just gonna kind of paraphrase it he goes for anything I've heard Watson doesn't want to be here anymore and frankly never wanted to be here
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: great doesn't really solve anything for now, but he also feels like Shidorah is going to start coming up for week three at the home opener.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: The other piece of Jason's article today, Jimmy has almost all in on Archmany, and that's all he wants.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, Cleveland must start Watson in the second game against Tampa Bay, and I'll tell you why.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because let's say that you start Sanders against Tampa Bay, the same thing's going to happen, that happened to Watson.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: It could set Sanders back and who knows how long if that's the case.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: Let Watson be the artificial lamb for another road game for the Browns.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns are going to win.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be another loss.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then make the decision to either start Sanders or not in the home opener against Carolina.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: But...
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: Keep in mind, Carolina made the playoffs last year, and they score 37 points against the Wanted Bears defense this past Sunday, and they're two and a half point favorite in their upcoming Game a road game this week against guess who comments to fanski and Atlanta
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: And especially with the overall look of where this team is going like I know the baker stuff has been hot heavy this week and I just need to see improvement whether not that means Watson continues to start but like you said Bruce there was just systematic issues on that offense and like I said
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'll give Ben and fit it down for this.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: He looked like a guy at hand, played football in two years.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: And that's exactly what he is.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: The feeling of the play clock.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to put some of that on Todd Munkin, too.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: Are you getting the plays in quickly enough?
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: Are you making your personnel decisions fast enough here?
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: All that aside, there's that feel.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: of where guys should be lined up are we getting out of the huddle in time and then the feel like Bruce there was a play he was Watson was rolling out to the right he got pressure and he rolled to the right I think it was in the first half and he threw one of the worst passes I think I've ever seen a NFL quarterback throw and I watched it again and I go his mechanics
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: are awful right now like terrible right now and I go how is this not getting coached up how is this not getting fixed especially you've known now for what three weeks that he was going to get you know start and then we just mix in the the the pot shots at the media the fans getting pit like I I don't know what they're doing
- 21:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Jason Lloyd had a good point this week where he said, the Browns knew that this was going to be bad, and they were going to face backlash.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_02]: This is actually worse than I think that they could have ever expected on how this is going with Watson's play and what he's saying in the media to get people upset.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, the game started off so promising with that drive that opening drive here he is completing short safe pass.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: But it looked good.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: We marched right down.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: But how an heaven's name.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: his vision as a veteran quarterback in the NFL after all the how could he not see that defender between his receiver and him was beyond me.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it was so obvious on the replay we watched it how many times he threw it right to him.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: Bruce, he made that same interception once a week every week in practice and so I'm not surprised And this goes back to my whole point of why I said start Shador although I do subscribe to letting it ride a week three You let your offensive line gel, and then you can throw him in against Carolina But was we weren't comparing Shador Sanders to some savvy vet right?
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you were to tell me right Joe Flacco here.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, listen to that No, this is a broken quarterback who hasn't played good football in six years and just because he's been in the league He's a vet, but doesn't mean he has the savvy skills a vet
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: Well, certainly lost those.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the other issue is then what does that say about Shador?
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: If to your point that Deshawn has looked this bad for this long and now has looked this bad, Shador couldn't overtake that, I'll listen Bruce that this was rigged from the jump.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: And it was always going to be Watson and it would have taken a herkuleen effort from Shador to pass him up.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: That didn't happen.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, fine.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: You start Watson's Ryan's point, you get, let these guys get a little bit of experience and then you kind of move on to Shador when it's eventually, but
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's hard for me not to watch this and go, should or can beat that out?
- 23:47[SPEAKER_02]: He couldn't be better than that.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe again, maybe that's just he never was given the chance.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I don't.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: Within the Browns organization, who will remain anonymous, who has informed me that Haslam had a big say.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: So when that decision.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: I can see it shouldn't be a surprise.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: Which is such a shame if that's true.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: And coming from the man that says he hates the Browns dysfunctional reputation, what's the most dysfunctional thing a franchise can do?
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: Matt, you say it all the time is having a medley owner.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, and you, yes, a meddling owner that, well, I don't want to say it doesn't know what they're doing.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_02]: They know what they're doing.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: But that's like the biggest thing for me is wouldn't it be better for ownership to start should or to get to be off jersey sales?
- 24:26[SPEAKER_02]: But he, I don't know.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: You couldn't have gone from should or to to Sean, you can't go.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the other thing is we all know the hasms included that all three of these guys are going to play this year.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_02]: Dylan Gabriel is going to start games.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know when, but it's going to end up, remember this, too.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's on IR.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: they have to pull him off eventually or he's got to sit on there all it's a minimum of four games or actually six because it was preseason, but eventually you're going to want to pull him off and then what do you do?
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: Do you flip Shidorah?
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but the belief that we all have that they're going to take a quarterback very high.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: all 100% you know one hundred and we're going to get to that later in the college segment um you know the Haslam's connections to Tennessee and the Manning family um but it will get to that uh that Manning and then more in all the rest of them when we get to the college segment all right let's um uh and we'll also make our predictions about the Browns game against Tampa Bay in our very next upcoming segment
- 25:25[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's go through the rest of the NFL fellows Pittsburgh 20 Atlanta 13's to fansky in his debut with the loss in Atlanta.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_00]: It won't be the only one believe me.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: TJ Watt had a tremendous game and a Rogers with a touchdown pass.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: that game was more I think about Pittsburgh.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: They should have destroyed Atlanta.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Cooper Rush had to start because to have found out midweek that his back hurt this week, they're between Cooper Rush and maybe Michael Panics would get back off his ACL injury.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: I was actually disappointed in Pittsburgh.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: They should have won that game by more than what they did.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: But again, I think that's just going to be what Pittsburgh is going to be.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_02]: That defense is everything.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: So TJ watch showing up, you know, good for them.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: But they squeaked that out when it really shouldn't have been that close.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: All the more 41 Indian app is the 23 Lamar Jackson 7 of 25, 324 yards and a touch down one touchdown passing one touchdown running 45 yards rushing for him and Derek Henry with 144 yards around the 31 to 13 and half time no contest.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: No, and now Zay Flowers is not a practice he heard his hamstring.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: They gave him all that money.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: We've talked about they have no receivers there, so it's gonna be even more.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_02]: They're gonna get in the Marjacks and into your frauds.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: I said that.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: I've continued to say that.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: they gave that money to Daniel Jones fine.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_02]: I am not a believer in anyapolis cult at all on this one.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: I understand that I'm going to subscribe more to I think that was a showing of what the Baltimore Ravens are going to be this year.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I believe they're going to be good.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Jesse Mentor is going to completely turn that around.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: You got Rokwant Smith playing like how he usually does in Lamar Jackson both times he's had new offensive coordinators.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's two years.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: He won MPP.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: What a good start for Declan Doyle there.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's why my decision on going with Baltimore was so difficult over Cincinnati, when the division has to give our predictions.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: Because the schedule for Cincinnati and this early portion of the campaign is brutal, where Baltimore says a lot easier.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: It gets tougher later, but they can build a lead early on.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: Um, next is Buffalo 36 used in 31 Josh Allen with two touchdown passes, uh, 334 yards in the air to touchdown runs a 21 yard run, uh, CJ Straud and company, uh, 24, uh, to 21 was a scored half time Buffalo got the job done.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: They did not cover.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_02]: No, and that was the game where Josh Allen, I was watching that game and it was electric because it came down basically to final drive and Josh Allen got the ball and you're like, here he goes and sure is hell, here he goes and he goes right back down the field.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_02]: I was actually more impressed with Houston than I thought I was going to be and that's coming from I think I think Buffalo has a chance to be in the Super Bowl this year.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_02]: I give some credit to Houston.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: They certainly showed up in that game.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: Well, gosh, wouldn't be so nice to be a Browns fan in one of those games, man.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: The high scoring potential AFC champions here on the match.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: Give the quarterback the ball and no, like he's going to get us down the field more often than not.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like that was fun.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_02]: David Montgomery, too, man, for Houston.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_02]: What a pick up.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's a lot of the radar one there.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: I like that.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: Chicago Bears 59 Carolina 37 K-Lib Williams 1-FAT candidate.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_00]: He has emerged in the early going 21 of 29 269 yards he rushed for 65 yards and 2 TD passes, 2 TD runs.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm real high on the bears, and that's not because I'm originally from Chicago.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: I hate it.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm growing up as a kid.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: They played two conservatively for my liking, but I'll tell you with Caleb Williams and that new coach Johnson coming over from Detroit.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be real force in the NFC this year, guys.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: 100% and that game was close.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: I was actually sitting there and like wow the panthers for as much as I give garbage to the panthers They were in that game second half bears are just like uh-uh Here we go and that was the highest scoring game first week one game in NFL history I I tell you what Ben Johnson said he wanted to Sprake the record he does you want to break your record points.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's why I picked Caleb Williams to win MVP because I think that bears defense is bad And he's that they're gonna walk their way into a Caleb Williams MVP.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: Detroit and over time 31 to 30 gives 156 yards rushing all I can say is Detroit was lucky.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_02]: They were, you go for two, Kellon Moore, and over time, Chris O'Laveau in the massive game.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: Who's the quarterback of the Saints era?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: Touchdown.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: I told you, he lost.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: I had a side, yeah, I had a side.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually, for the Saints, again, it pretty much is Chris O'Laveau.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: They have ATN, but Alvin Kamara is gonna play this week.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: He was injured.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: That seemed like a game like Detroit, used to never be in those situations.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: These are just smoke bad teams.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I ain't airing Glenn to a point like I don't think they've really recovered from that.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: I do like the, it's Gibbs show.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: They got rid of Montgomery.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's all on Gibbs, which I like.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on Ross still leap, but yeah, I know.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't do this again hurt.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: And again, that defense for his injured is they were Brian Branch's coming back.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: Kirby Joseph, they got them back off injury.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think, I'm, I'm buying the lions for now, but I didn't
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: Cincinnati 33 Tampa Bay 27 may feel 23 of 28 in this loss.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, he did not have a great funbbled the ball and that really hurt him.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: Bingo's new look defense forced four turnovers Cincinnati scored 24 points off those Tampa Bay mistakes and three of them committed by Baker Mayfield.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: That game was also interesting because I'm trying it.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: I want to check this.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_02]: Did Jamar Chase even have 50 yards in that game?
- 31:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he had, like, help, you win games like that.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: Now, T-Higgins had that third-down catch that was massive for them, but yeah, not really the, the Bengals type of game.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: Burl had one touchdown, one interception like you said, Chase Brown ran one in.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know that that's not going to be how it goes with Jamar.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_02]: I do look at that game more about
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe Tampa lost that game more than maybe Cincinnati won it.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but again, it was interesting game to watch, especially because Cincinnati was smoking them at half time and then Tampa kind of turned it on in the second half, but you know, that's a win.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: I just think it was kind of a sloppy game on everybody's part.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: Arizona 26, the L.A. Charger's 14.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, good.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: Cardinals.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's the Cardinals for the biggest underdog going into week one in the NFL and head coach, Michael Flore, one of his debut and became the first Cardinals coach to win his debut since that Coriel in 1973.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: This is a bad opener for Justin Herbert and Jim
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: Did you see the stat I'm trying to pull this up here about the circus survivor in Vegas you know about the circus survivor right so it's a thousand dollar entry and they get as many as they can it's like a minimum payout of I don't know 16 million dollars whatever and it's a lot.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: That charges loss on Sunday, eliminated $10 million worth of entries in the circus survivor.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_02]: That is the most lost on any single game in the history of the circus survivor in Vegas.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: What does that tell you?
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: That is the most historic
- 32:43[SPEAKER_02]: upset potentially in regular season history from that standpoint.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody thought the chargers that what a terrible reflection on Jim Harba.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: I hate to point to your guy I'm like like Daniel over the Ryan, but just got awful terrible.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's just a microcosm who the chargers are.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_02]: They're just good enough.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: They're just that they're just good enough.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like it and I see him in the play.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think that says about the cardinals real quick though?
- 33:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it'll be interesting to follow them now, especially after Kyler Murray departed for Minnesota, but what a surprise.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: This was the biggest shock or no question.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: Minnesota 39, Green Bay 22.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: First time ever that Packers led 1910 at halftime.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: Carson wins.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: brought in when Kyder Murray suffered his first quarter concussion, once excelled going 12 and 19 and throwing for three touchdowns.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_02]: Packers just you're missing Mike a Parsons the Josh Jacobs back in the news all this week with his legal troubles.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: He's not out there I mean again Jordan left through for 387 yards and you lost that game I don't think this is an offensive Problems very clearly a defensive problem for the past pretty sure if we play the tape I picked the packers to finish second Detroit third and for that exact reason Yeah, I believe in Kevin O'Connell Brian Flora is that defensive problem.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna get head coach
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: Philadelphia 29 Washington 22.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_00]: Jalen heard through for three touchdowns in this affair and sick one, Barclay rushed for 83 yards as Philadelphia got the job done.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: That was like a felt a lot like the Eagles were playing with their food like they had times that they could really shut out or to kind of put the game way in Washington.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: at Jane Daniels played fine uh... i just didn't continue to their run game i know they really have a choice but like just to go in with your quarry crossing married not a good idea digs had a nice couple of catches their terror McCormn didn't do anything in that game um... that just seemed like a weird one to be equals got it done but now the eagles are all injured lane johnson's on our they lost uh... uh... who else one of their other might be just went on the i-r this week too uh... their interior guy
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: jerk, uh, I ain't with lint or what, uh, lint strum or whatever.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: I don't all look it up in a second, but I lot of they uh, no, it wasn't for my lot of, but now they're getting injured a little bit.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: Lint and Dickerson's on our, that's it.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: Lint and Dickerson's on our.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so maybe it wasn't lint johns, but anyway, that was fine from the Eagles.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think they played with their food a little too much in that game.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: New York Giants, 28, Dallas, Wow, that's incredible.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, three touchdown passes and John Harbaugh is an instant hero in New York City beating the arch rival Cowboys in his debut.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_00]: He was front page news.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Big Apple.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: I got to watch what I say about Jax and Dart and Cam Skataboo, I guess.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: And now, really a solid win for the Giants.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: And just you look at the Cowboys, you're gonna like, what are you doing over there?
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you, man, they were the easiest team to predict to double their win total from last year.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: We're the giant.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think Jackson starts actually for real.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what to show to.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what it says about Dallas.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, right, I'm not gonna panic yet.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think that defense could still be good.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: It was a tough game week one.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: What does it say about the giant still?
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: If they beat the Rams week two, yeah.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: But it's so big.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: Cowboys and Rams, New York is gonna be jumping.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's the thing about Dallas, so for all those years that they had such that good defense.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like, John said, William was just running well, that you didn't get a lot to, like, only had two possessions in the second half.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's not the defense because you couldn't get off the field.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: Couldn't get off the field.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's the defense, man.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think that defense is going to be their real hindrance.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: Giants, I, I'll buy that they're going to improve.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: I still don't think they're playoff team though.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_00]: Why do they are no go ahead per second San Francisco, 27 the L.A. Ram, seven In Australia and boy, how how smart did the miners?
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: No, right?
- 36:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're flying over there with jet lag and everything considered
- 36:41[SPEAKER_00]: The Rams looked fatigued in this game, and it Garrett is out for four weeks.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_00]: San Francisco's for real, no question, but boy, what a disappointing start for the Rams.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think the consensus, let's put it this way, more people were predicting the Rams, not only to win that division, but probably the team defeat in the NNFC,
- 37:05[SPEAKER_00]: going into this season.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, they might be in the team to be in the NFL.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they were there's super team.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody just looked at all the moves that they made.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: I will 100% chalked that up to some bad idea about going early and playing not in Melbourne.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I mean, just, you know, the other thing, uh,
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: What's the best effort is he not 38 years old you put a 38 year old guy in a plane like that like that that was it for me was just Stafford looked terrible Stafford looked off Garrett obviously had no impact he's on IR they'll get Aaron Donald this week.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like he's gonna play I just I'm still a believer in the Rams that was just they just weren't ready to play down there.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's it
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: Kansas City 31, Denver 10, Kenneth Walker 173 yards.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, welcome to Kansas City, Mahomes, not 100% but still got the job done.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_00]: Broncos, new offensive coordinator, Davis Web needs to get to work and Denver, very guilty of poor tackling in this game.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_00]: I predicted Kansas City to win that division.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I Denver prime step back candidate for me the season and yeah, you could see Sean Peyton just see thing on that sideline wanting to take the play calling back over from David.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you could to I don't know how much longer he's going to give him on that.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: They just couldn't run the football.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: They couldn't obviously completion percentage wasn't great for Bonix and he was sack four times.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like you could just see Kansas City looked like everything that you would want to believe with Kansas City.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_02]: Them getting Kenneth Walker.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_02]: was perfect.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely perfect.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's going to be a real big piece of their offense.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: Let alone to get very kill.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_02]: That's out there now.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_02]: This is in season signing in him.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: Kansas City looks like they're back.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think for Denver, that's going to be the huge storyline as Davis.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: Because the thing in NFL is to get a hot, hot, sexy young offense coordinator.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: We're just talking about Declan Doyle.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: And Davis Webb was in the same quarterback room at Texas
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: Next, let's see how we did with our first week of predictions against this spread, of course.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's next, and who do we like for next week's games, this week's games.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's next, on the Big Play Cleveland Show Thursday edition.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_02]: And this segment brought to you by great friends at the third estimate Cleveland's five star roofing and gutter pros their Labor Day sales been extended till the end of the month where all new roofs come with a gutter system completely free and all their estimates are good for six months so go to the third estimate dot com make sure you put in the it's the
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: spell out third THIRD.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: The third estimate dot com before the end of the month to take advantage of that offer.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_02]: Again, that estimate is good for the six months.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: If you've got questions about your roof now, bad news, the winter's only going to make it worse.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to fix itself.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's only going to get worse.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_02]: And then you've got major damage.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_02]: the third estimate is the place to go and again just have them come in their estimates are good for six months.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: You think you can maybe make it through the winter?
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: Great, but then just get on their books for early next year.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: Have them out by March or April to get done what you need to get done.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_02]: You don't want to put it off.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_02]: The roof is one of the most important things about your home.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_02]: The third estimate will take care of you telling me sent you here from Big Play on the hokey up again.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: The third estimate dot com will get to our predictions for this week in the NFL next.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, every week, I pick the top pro games, and if there's a top college game, we'll include that with the spreads as of the day that we are doing the show live for you here on YouTube.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_00]: Couple of interesting notes about last week, both Matt and myself took Cleveland giving our heroes the movement of the doubt.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_00]: Ryan was the only intelligent one.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: to pick Jacksonville, although we sneaked away with a win, Matt, and that Ohio State game, you and I took the buck ice plus one and a half and it's an amazing how these handy capers and Vegas a time and time again.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_02]: There's a reason people think it's rigged because it is that close, like the overunders a lot of times too, it's scary to see how that plays out sometimes.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_00]: of the eight games last week, Ryan was right four times.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_00]: Nice, not enough.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_00]: He was wrong four times.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_00]: Matt was right four times and wrong four times.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I went six and two.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_02]: No, there it is.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: There it is.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: But it's over there.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_00]: All right, I don't want to jinx myself.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_00]: Here we go, fellas.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: Love it.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: Detroit at Buffalo to kick things out this week Buffalo's a five and a half point favorite Oh, it pains me to do so because they scare me to death, but I'm gonna take Detroit.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: I will also take Detroit.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: I like the dog in the under, you know, I do Thursday nights, five and a half to much leones.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was hoping you guys were going Yeah, the other way because I'm So now this is guaranteed the lines don't cover because they're also going line All right there.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: You like the line.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: I do as well.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_00]: All right next Cincinnati is getting two and a half at Houston I'll let you guys lead the way on this one So are you watching what Houston didn't weak one which again?
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: I was really impressed
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: by them.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to easily take Houston in this one.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_02]: Joe Burroughs got a back injury and they already say it was an out of 100% there already discussions today play.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, we might need to jump on this now.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: That line might move by Sunday if there's even more reporting on his back injury.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: Burrough said he's going to play.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like that this injury conversations already popping up here on the road given the Texans minus the two and a half.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to join you with that, but I'll tell you why I do not love it, and I'm not confident it, but I'm going with the texture to cover it home as well.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_00]: I am too, and part of my reasoning is because again, I went with Baltimore to win our division over Cincinnati ever so slightly because of this first portion of the NFL schedule for both teams.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: Baltimore schedules a lot easier than Cincinnati's, and here we go in week two.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: Next, Minnesota is at Chicago, and the bears are a four and a half point favorite.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: As high as I am on the bears and Caleb Williams this season, you know, this is a divisional rival, and Minnesota surprised this last week that some anyway, with their win over Green Bay, I'm gonna, I'm a hunch, take Minnesota plus the points.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'll defer I'll take the bears minus the four and a half.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_02]: I do think that last week had a little more to do maybe with the Packers, you know, than the Vikings there, so I'm gonna go and take the bears minus the four and a half.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm going to go to Viking, so I'm riding with you Bruce.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think that defense keeps it close enough.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be an NFC North battle.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I think that Bear's defense is just bad enough.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: Caleb Williams is going to walk into MVP.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I think they win, but I'll take the Vikings to cover.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and we're going to let you start off with this one.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville is getting two and a half at Denver.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, how do I not take Jacksonville to cover that after what I saw last week?
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm hoping that for the brown sake, Trevor Lawrence is kind of picking up where he left off last year and the jackwares are actually that good, so I'm going to take them to cover this.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go the oop, do you peer?
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: Give me Denver to bounce back at home and cover.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_00]: I was not impressed with Denver.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they're going to be nearly as good as they were a year ago.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not impressed with bone nicks like a lot of people are.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_00]: I am impressed with Lawrence as Ryan knows all last year.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_00]: I preached the case that they were the team to surprise everybody.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they're a Super Bowl contender.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'll take Jacksonville.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_00]: Next, Pittsburgh is getting five and a half at New England.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: If you like New England, it's minus four and a half.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: I hate to do this, but somehow some way, Pittsburgh finds a way to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot, I'll take the points.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_02]: I Oh, I hate this one I'm not gonna lie.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: I was gonna take the bounce back on New England, but to your point that's too many give me this stealer's plus five and a half I hate it.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: I am scared because I think me and Bruce are one hundred percent on every single 30 so far I'm going to steal those as well.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: Dirty go to last member last year weird game.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think they beat the Patriots and they it's two and three turnover
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're also going with the Steelers boys.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_00]: Um, here's one guys.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: New York giants are at LA to play the Rams and the Super Bowl contending Rams off that Australian Fiasco 7 point favor Rams all day.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I might need of the Giants will continue to ride the Giants or my team this year outside of the Brown.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm taking a touchdown all day without miles Garrett.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: You got me messed up Rams.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to join us tonight.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think John Harbour wants to be in the front page of the New York Times and the Daily News and the Post and all of them.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'll take the Giants.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns plus eight and a half a Tampa Bay.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm, I, I, I, how can anybody in the right mind can't believe it.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: We can still probably cover some miraculous way, but the revenge factor with May field let alone the way they lost their game to it last week to Cincinnati.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_00]: He made all those mistakes.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_00]: This is their home opener.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_00]: I got to think it's another slaughter.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_02]: I hate this one too, because your right Bruce, the Browns will cover, but I am not picking them to do that.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: They'd go into 100% be some fluky, weird, backdoor, something like that, give me, give me the buck and ears of mine to say it in a half, but I got to take it.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: If should door start it, I would absolutely take the points, but I am going, well, Tampa Bay to absolutely cover this one, he's out there.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_00]: I had one college game guy, but I've taken it off the board for us, and it was obviously the big game, LSU, at Ole Miss, sentimentally, I think the whole country is going to be cheering for Ole Miss because of Lane Kiffin, and what he wrote he is in the state of Mississippi and around the country.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: Sam Levit has been listed as doubtful.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_00]: Now, this is an NCAA rule.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_00]: The schools get in big trouble.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_00]: They could find hundreds of thousands of dollars of thing.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: You know, don't come out with their categorizing of their players' injury-wise.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_00]: They have listed, as of yesterday, Sam Levit, they're starting quarterback as doubtful.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, we'll see, is it a lot of hoopla on Kiffin's part?
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: There's rumors to that effect, guys.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I'm going to buy that because there's reports that Ole Miss is not buying that either that they expect CM Levitt to play.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_02]: I know, I would say it's probably going to be LSU that gets that done, but it's going to be a fun game to watch and yeah, I mean the game playing the Yeah, they're going to have the, you know, the extra security for laying because you be back in Oxford and how that's all going to go.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_02]: There's just all this other who plot with the truth.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: It is fun to just sit down and not really You know, not have that rooting interest in this game to sit down and I'm with you I think we're all gonna be rooting for Ole Miss to get it done.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know if they can when we get back Ohio State Texas and the rest of college football It's a big play Cleveland show Thursday edition continues Well the big game was a tale of two halves
- 48:19[SPEAKER_00]: First half, saying, Smith and Ohio State's defense excelled.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: Saying, did overthrow too high?
- 48:30[SPEAKER_00]: A wide open receiver that would have been a touchdown.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_00]: Instead,
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: we settled for a field goal.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: Now, day going for it on 4th and 2, instead of taking a field goal, was a key as far as this final score, the one point margin is concerned.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: Manning, I thought was terrible.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_00]: So again, we're gonna keep a close eye on manning all season long because of the Haslam Tennessee connection and with the Manning family, but he was terrible.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: Um, overthrowing way to high on so many attempts except the past to win go, which he dropped in the end zone, which would have been a touchdown.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: But in the second half, the biggest keys to me were Sarketian twice going for it, second and nine, and second and six in his own territory and succeeding both times which resulted in spores.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_00]: Ohio State could not put pressure on manning.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: He had all day to throw in the second half, but I attribute that to the Ohio State defense to me looking very fatigued and tired.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_00]: It was 90 degrees.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: The heat index was 105 degrees in Austin, Texas.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_00]: I remember when I was doing the Indian schemes on television.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_00]: And the first time that we went to Texas we were in a hotel and we had a night game against the Rangers and I left the hotel at about three in the afternoon and as soon as I got out the door of the hotel
- 50:07[SPEAKER_00]: It was an incredible furnace.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_00]: I've never forgotten that my the rest of my life.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_00]: I've never forgotten what it felt like.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I attribute that the Ohio State defense was tired and fatigued in that kind of heat.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: The Miss Field goal by Hawkins at the end of the game, it would have been a mood point.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_00]: That would have been a nine point margin and Texas would not have had enough time for two possessions to come back and win it as they did.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: It was a very cleanly played game.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_00]: There were hardly any penalties in this game.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was extremely well-officiated.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_00]: And finally, let me say this.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_00]: Sartesian, at halftime, is excused by me for leaving for the locker room.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_00]: His team was getting smashed.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_00]: There was a technical problem by ABC, they interviewed Dave first, then they went to the reporter with Sarquizian, League was Hollywood, yeah.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_00]: And he excused himself apologizing, he had to get into the locker room.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: That is totally excusable, but after the game was over, what he did was inexcusable, and he's got a reputation.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_00]: when he just shocked her off and gave to who components.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then, Adios, that was inexcusable.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_00]: Wanted jerk.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, let me add this.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_00]: They're number one.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think Georgia should have been one of them.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to last longer than that number one spot.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a brutal schedule.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: And Ohio State dropped into six big deal.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_00]: We could lose another game and still win the national championship or that good.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_02]: I I have no issue with Ohio State after that game.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's people that want to buy Bruce that they feel better about Ohio State after that game or was it was impressed with how Ohio State would listen Connor Hawkins makes that kick.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: You're talking about a different story.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: You score any touchdown in that second half.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about a different story That's just how it goes and and I think at the end of the day they got to learn a little bit about that from Ohio State, but this has been something I've talked about a lot this week is that now with that game being the second game of the year
- 52:19[SPEAKER_02]: You've already heard this from Ryan Day this week.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_02]: They're opening it up now.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_02]: Legend Bay is gonna play a little bit more wilder on that defensive line.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's gonna get some more reps.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_02]: They couldn't go into that game.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_02]: Same, we're gonna throw to Chris Henry.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_02]: Think it guy's in his second college game.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's 18 years old.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not trying to go into that Texas game and figure out about some of these young guys.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_02]: Now that that game is in the past, go ahead, figure out what you got.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_02]: And figure out who the best players you're gonna be.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't wanna Ohio State playing their best game on September 12th or whatever it was.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_02]: I need them playing well in December and into playoffs because you're Bruce, you're 1,000 percent correct.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_02]: Ohio State's making the playoffs.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_02]: Hell, they'll make the playoffs with three losses.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_02]: Mark my words on that.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_02]: They will make it with three losses if that even got there.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see that.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if they lose another game.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: But if they do, they'll be 10 and 2 and they will still have a chance to win the big 10 and get a buy.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_02]: There won't be a problem about it.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_02]: I know that game is frustrating for everybody, but I'm not alarmed or concerned about a Ohio State in the least.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_01]: And you take Ryan.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll listen, I got my Ohio state takes out all of say is this for those that haven't seen it.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you two have the whole arch press conference, maybe one of you.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I video of Sark slapping, Holly Row, I get these young.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: It happens.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: But when it comes to draft time, those same questions about character better be asked about archmaning that they were about Shador Sanders.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's all I'll say.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_02]: No, and that's, I'm not excusing it either.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like social media is a cesspool, viral place, it's terrible.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_02]: And for him to even like, I miss this Ryan to be dumb enough to bring it up.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: Was it asked about him or did he like, no, he's okay.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to say this for sure because I'm not sure but what I believe was they were asking about that confrontation between Sarkin Holly Row.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and then he mentioned it.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_01]: And they asked have you seen any videos about it and he brought up the AI one.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's an immature kid and I know he learned from it.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_02]: I know he apologized from it, but you can't be doing that.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_02]: So it is.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_00]: It takes us that much of this earlier.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_00]: Now that they're number one, they're not going to stay there that long.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_00]: They can lose their next game.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_00]: They're at Tennessee and Tennessee's a good team.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_00]: Number two in this week's AP is Georgia.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_00]: Why think should be number one?
- 54:25[SPEAKER_00]: Big win over Western Kentucky.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_00]: They're at Arkansas as a 24 and a half point favorite.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then they play Oklahoma.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_00]: So the Georgia Bulldogs, as I we mentioned last week, guys.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_00]: They have the lightest schedule if you will of any of the serious SEC contenders.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and that's the thing.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_02]: The SEC is so interesting this year of, I guess it's a little like the big ten we're like Indiana doesn't have to play Oregon like the you know same thing it's who you catch and what year and you flip on who you're playing one year and like you said there's just some some brutal games for for LSU for taxes in the sound of how Alabama is just kind of sitting there just like you know whatever Georgia.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think even has that overarching of the hard schedule of current memory serve.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_00]: Rice visited South Bend.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: They wish they had 52 to nothing.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_00]: Next game for the Irish Michigan State 29 and a half-point favorite.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_00]: Another name is not going to be channeled.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_00]: Should they play BYU and then the other big game of course is Miami, which they get in South Bend.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_00]: Number five is Miami.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_00]: Now they moved up two spots in the AP with their 77-7 win over Florida A&M.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_00]: Next up for them, Wake Forest.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_00]: They should usually win their 21-and-a-half-point favorite.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_00]: Our book guys are number six.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_00]: We play Kent State of said there.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_00]: LSU is number seven.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_00]: Now, they're winning against Louisiana Tech, levitt through some picks in that game.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_00]: And he's questioned, but not questionable.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's doubtful.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_00]: They say, we've already addressed this.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, in this game against Ole Miss, who's number eight, they're big win over Charlotte, the host in this series is six and all, straight up and against the spread in their last six games, guys.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_02]: So that would lean very much Ole Miss and we were kind of thinking LSU, yeah.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I do think about the AP where like even LSU got a first place vote and they're down at eight or seven or whatever it is.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like I get it and at this point it's just the jocking because once we get into conference play, then you can start saying,
- 56:34[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Ohio State beat Indiana and then Indiana looked like this versus this right now like you said Charlotte and and and all these other teams that are just playing ball state Kent State you don't know what you have in your opponent.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_02]: You know again Ohio State Texas That's what Oklahoma Michigan that was I think a big one you obviously look at this weekend with LSU and Ole Miss But it's hard to just kind of decide and I'm with you Bruce.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to be first place on December or you know on September 17 That's why
- 57:01[SPEAKER_00]: Number nine is Texas A&M with their win over Arizona State of decent team 48 to 20.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_00]: Their next game is against Kentucky.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_00]: There are 16 and a half point favorite and speaking of Kentucky, Alabama pulled away from them big time, 45 to 17.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: Book still out on Alabama.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_00]: Their next game is Florida State.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_00]: They are a three touchdown favorite.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_00]: B-Y-U is number by the way you want to comment on Alabama, Matt?
- 57:24[SPEAKER_02]: No, I just say like I just looked this up because I was talking about their schedule right Georgia has two ranked games.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_02]: One's Alabama and Alabama.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_02]: They got Georgia Tennessee, Texas A&M and LSU.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_02]: So their schedule, I, I, I, I miss both.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_02]: Their schedule is brutal for there in the middle.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they're going to make it.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_00]: BYU's number 11.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_00]: They're up four spots after an impressive win against Arizona.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_00]: Another good team, 28 to 17, they're at Colorado State next 17 and a half point favorite.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_00]: Southern Cal is up to spots.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_00]: And this is Lincoln Riley.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I think the pressure is on him this year out at Southern Cal.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_00]: especially with the NIL recruits they brought in recruits what a joke up two spots they beat Louisiana 49 to 30 they're at Rutgers 24 and a half point for any early take on Southern Cal no because they have three cupcake games because they're they have Oregon Penn State Ohio State and Indiana all on their schedule with Washington too like that
- 58:23[SPEAKER_02]: like you said Lincoln Riley's got pressure on him but Bruce that I get you know in a way it's a positive because like you have a brutal schedule that if you can play there's no doubt about it You're making the play off if you can win three of those four games.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_02]: I know Oregon's maybe not who we thought they were we'll see by the time that game comes around But they got Ohio State Indiana back to
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: back.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but one's Halloween.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_02]: They have to cut their Ohio State is in LA to play Southern Cow on Halloween and then they have to travel to Bloomington.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_02]: They have a buy and then they have Bloomington.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_00]: Texas Tech is number 13 what a season they had a year ago they had a win over Oregon state and now up next at Houston.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be an interesting game seven and a half points is what Texas given tech is giving Houston.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be a good one.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_02]: It should be a good one.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Texas Tech is another team where you think about the big 12 and you lean BYU ESPN analytics actually really like Texas Tech to win the big 12.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_02]: I only think they'll get one out from the big 12 this year.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that fight will be on between those two.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_00]: Penn State's 14 coach Campbell beat Temple 27 to nine next up Buffalo 15 10 to see with a win over Georgia Tech impressive 43 24 Kennesaw State 35 and a half point favorite SMU was 16 to rat Louisville.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's an interesting game Lincoln Penals Louisville is minus one and a half in that one
- 59:43[SPEAKER_02]: People love Linky Kinox former I.C.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_02]: quarterback.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's down there Louisville.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I do a podcast to Justin's Wick a former I.C.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_02]: quarterback.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_02]: He loves Louisville to be a shocker in the city.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_02]: They almost beat on this.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_02]: Little shocker this year.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_00]: Michigan is up nine spots.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_00]: They dropped out of the top 25 after that.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_00]: Fiasco against Western Michigan.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_00]: Now they are right number 19, following their win against Oklahoma.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_00]: the sooners are now number 24 is a result of that loss in Ann Arbor.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_00]: And this game, Michigan's defense in my opinion, I watch a whole game, Michigan's defense won this game.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_00]: It was a bad game for material.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_00]: And this loss really hurts Oklahoma's chances for the college football player.
- 1:00:26[SPEAKER_00]: But I see that because they have to play at Georgia, they play Texas, Ole Miss,
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_02]: And especially, I do think Michigan will be top 15 by the time they play Ohio State though, I think two losses at least by the time that goes on, outside chance of making the playoffs may be potentially, but they have Iowa Penn State, Indiana, Oregon, Ohio State this year.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're losing at least two of those before they get to the Ohio State.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_00]: And finally, guys, Oregon has dropped down to number 21.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_00]: They dropped 15 spy following their loss to Mr. Maker and Oklahoma State 39 to 31.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_00]: And next week, the rats have been a joke.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_00]: And more, again, was bad, particularly in the second half.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_00]: Had Oklahoma State lost, although it had they lost.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_00]: I watched this game too.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_00]: There was an absolutely horrendous horrible call in the third quarter that should have been called the dual
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_00]: face mask penalty instead the face mask penalty went against Oklahoma State as it turned out it didn't matter.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_00]: The line judge totally blew that call.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_00]: Mr. Maker threw a couple of picks but to me he was a heck of a lot more impressive than more.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_00]: I hope and pray that I've told you I have serious doubts about more after seeing him in the playoff last year.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_00]: Let alone the couple games that they've played this year.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_00]: That was my first look at Mr. Maker.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_02]: a lot of people like your master maker.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the size.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the army.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_02]: He had that fade away bomb that they score the touchdown.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_02]: I was just pretty impressive.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_02]: I, I, the biggest issue is I think, again, the offensive line and they're getting in Dante Morse face.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still going to be a believer.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_02]: I still think they'll be around the playoff come, you know, by the end of the season, but yeah, it's not good.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they do, you know, and that's the, yeah.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_02]: So like the opposite, they have, they have USC next week or after they
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_02]: But then they have a break where it's like UCLA, Nebraska, Illinois, Northwestern.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_02]: They should win all four of those games.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_02]: Then they have Ohio State Michigan Michigan State and Washington.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're a lose or Ohio State.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_02]: They'll beat Michigan.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_00]: So like there is a we don't get about Washington.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_00]: They could be a sneaky one.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but like let me ask you this.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_02]: If they beat USC in two weeks, which I don't know if they will or won't, I think.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_01]: Is that
- 1:02:59[SPEAKER_02]: then they lose to Ohio State.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's three losses they're fried.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_02]: They're done, but if they beat US and then lose to Ohio State, that's only two, but then I'm asking them to beat Michigan and Washington, both those games are at home in Eugene.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_00]: And that's all the time we have for this week's version of the Big Play Cleveland show, so I hope you enjoyed it, plenty more to come next week and hardly wait guys.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Bruce Strutton on behalf of Matt Fontana and Ryan Tyler.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: We thank you for joining us, hope you enjoyed the programs.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see you next week until then, as always, and most importantly, you remember.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_00]: I love you, Ohio.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I love you, Cleveland.
