- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, we're back at it. News Radio 570, Dodie
- 0:02Speaker 1: Kivian and Ron Furman. You're on the air.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Yes, how you doing, Ron?
- 0:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:05Speaker 2: The interview with Marjorie Taylor Greene is airing right now
- 0:09Speaker 2: on the Tucker Carlson Network.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Yes.
- 0:12Speaker 2: But you have to be a member to watch it
- 0:15Speaker 2: live now. I'm a member, but I'm going to watch
- 0:18Speaker 2: it later. That's where I get all the majority of
- 0:22Speaker 2: my information. I don't know if you caught the Jeffrey
- 0:25Speaker 2: Sachs interview with Tucker Carlson.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I saw parts of it, but I did not catch
- 0:30Speaker 1: it all. What did you learn, and who is Jeffrey
- 0:32Speaker 1: Sachs for our audience?
- 0:34Speaker 2: Jeffrey Sachs is one of the most... He's like a
- 0:38Speaker 2: G2 on steroids. I mean, he's a Harvard professor, but
- 0:44Speaker 2: he's in foreign policy, and he advises over 100 countries
- 0:51Speaker 2: on intelligence and strategies, and... Fascinating guy, but he pointed
- 1:00Speaker 2: out a lot of Trump's mistakes and sort of like
- 1:07Speaker 2: Joe Kent. But Jeffrey Sachs, and then another interview with
- 1:11Speaker 2: John Kirikou was the recent interview. He was a CIA whistleblower,
- 1:18Speaker 2: and he was even more fascinating than Jeffrey Sachs. He
- 1:22Speaker 2: said Iran was never our problem. And real quick, getting
- 1:26Speaker 2: back to that one guy that said Iran wants to
- 1:28Speaker 2: kill all the Christians, the only people killing Christians right
- 1:33Speaker 2: now in the Middle East are the Jewish people. They've
- 1:38Speaker 2: killed over 2,000 Christians in Lebanon. Probably 300 of those
- 1:43Speaker 2: were children. And what the Lebanese people fear the most
- 1:46Speaker 2: from the Israelis, not so much the tanks, but the bulldozers.
- 1:51Speaker 2: the israelis bring in bulldozers and level entire cities they
- 1:56Speaker 2: just it's just you know it's like uh... i've got
- 1:59Speaker 2: it too and it's did orders on war crimes and
- 2:04Speaker 2: i think that's what marjorie taylor green is going to
- 2:06Speaker 2: be speaking about tonight and uh... i'll watch that later
- 2:12Speaker 2: but and look at look at the price of gas
- 2:14Speaker 2: right now i was going to call the other day
- 2:16Speaker 2: i said you know gas is going to get five
- 2:17Speaker 2: dollars very soon Yeah, I was right. I said it's
- 2:22Speaker 2: going to go even higher because even if they do
- 2:26Speaker 2: manage to reopen the Strait with all the damage to
- 2:29Speaker 2: the infrastructure, it's going to take four to five to
- 2:34Speaker 2: six months to get things back down to where they were.
- 2:39Speaker 2: But what bothers me, and boy, I'd like to sit
- 2:42Speaker 2: down and have a beer with G2 and have a discussion,
- 2:46Speaker 2: that I watched Trump today in the Oval Office with
- 2:49Speaker 2: the astronauts. And he seems to have met all of
- 2:54Speaker 2: Israel's priorities. You know, we sunk their navy, we did this,
- 2:57Speaker 2: we did that. But it's not America first. It's not
- 3:01Speaker 2: in my interest or your interest. It's not helping our country.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Why do we have, and G2 would probably answer this,
- 3:09Speaker 2: why is AIPAC running our government, the Jewish lobby? I mean,
- 3:15Speaker 2: they control all of our politicians. And the ones that
- 3:18Speaker 2: they don't control..
- 3:20Speaker 3: Uh..
- 3:20Speaker 2: Nasty in march retail or green they destroy i mean
- 3:25Speaker 2: they destroy them you'll never hear from marjorie taylor well
- 3:28Speaker 2: you will on talker show in different shows but i
- 3:31Speaker 2: mean as far as being a politician she was a
- 3:34Speaker 2: damn good congresswoman but she has been eliminated in mass
- 3:39Speaker 2: he's been neutralized.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I don't think any either one of those two contributions
- 3:44Speaker 1: from that uh... What was the name of that lobbying group?
- 3:47Speaker 2: AIPAC.
- 3:47Speaker 1: AIPAC, yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 2: A-I-P-A-C-K. It's the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
- 3:53Speaker 1: And I don't believe Marjorie Tedder Green or Massey take
- 3:56Speaker 1: money from them. Is that correct?
- 3:58Speaker 2: That's correct. They came into being under President Lyndon Johnson, AIPAC.
- 4:02Speaker 2: And the biggest thing that Johnson made a mistake, they
- 4:06Speaker 2: were never required to register as a foreign lobbyist. That's
- 4:10Speaker 2: what they are. They're Israelis, our lobbying branch. but they're
- 4:15Speaker 2: not registered. I mean, they have... And they own every politician.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I hate to think that... I wonder if Michael Rooley's
- 4:24Speaker 2: come in contact with them yet. They go after all
- 4:27Speaker 2: the new young congressmen that come in. But it's a
- 4:33Speaker 2: shame that... And John Kirikou, he's a former CIA whistleblower.
- 4:41Speaker 2: He was the guy that... It exposed waterboarding and the
- 4:48Speaker 2: other mistakes that we were doing during the Iraq War.
- 4:53Speaker 2: But he was really good. He said that our priorities...
- 4:57Speaker 2: The biggest threat is not Iran. He said Trump was
- 5:01Speaker 2: lied to, first of all, by... If you watch Tucker,
- 5:06Speaker 2: the BB files, that's the premium thing, too. You have
- 5:09Speaker 2: to pay to watch it.
- 5:11Speaker 3: But..
- 5:12Speaker 2: BB fed Trump all the intelligence that went against our CIA.
- 5:17Speaker 2: I know in the past Trump mistrusted the CIA because
- 5:21Speaker 2: of what they did for him, but he was getting
- 5:24Speaker 2: a lot of good information on Iran. And, you know,
- 5:28Speaker 2: they didn't have a bomb. The biggest threat to this
- 5:30Speaker 2: country is not Iran. It's the drug cartels. And Trump
- 5:35Speaker 2: was going after them, and he sort of took his
- 5:38Speaker 2: foot off the gas for some reason. the fentanyl epidemic
- 5:43Speaker 2: that's killing our country. And if you look back at
- 5:49Speaker 2: Afghanistan and the Afghanistan war, do you know how much
- 5:54Speaker 2: drugs are produced right now in Afghanistan? How many heroin
- 5:58Speaker 2: or opium? I think it's heroin.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Zero.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Under the Taliban. They're farmers again. They're not producing that.
- 6:08Speaker 2: When we were in charge, we had the Taliban... when
- 6:12Speaker 2: we were funding them under our reagan and going back
- 6:16Speaker 2: the last thirty forty years we were we were funding
- 6:21Speaker 2: the uh... growth of drugs because they were selling those
- 6:24Speaker 2: drugs to russia in destroying russia and now it does
- 6:30Speaker 2: those you know The problem we're having is the Chinese
- 6:34Speaker 2: are doing the same thing to us with fentanyl.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Right, but back up a second. I mean, Trump was
- 6:42Speaker 1: attacking that problem, and I got to believe he's still
- 6:46Speaker 1: trying to deal with that, taking out the drug boats
- 6:49Speaker 1: that are coming in. going after things at the border.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I don't think as president you only do one thing
- 6:55Speaker 1: and forget to focus on the other stuff. I think
- 6:58Speaker 1: that when you like to believe that's taking care of
- 7:01Speaker 1: itself and still being dealt with by..
- 7:03Speaker 2: Oh, yes, I know you can do more.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Right. I mean, and I just want to correct you
- 7:10Speaker 1: on something. My disappointment with Marjorie Taylor Greene is she quit.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I mean, she did not have to quit. I mean,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I don't know if..
- 7:19Speaker 2: She was destroyed. She knew she couldn't continue. I mean,
- 7:23Speaker 2: she couldn't win another election. You know, when Trump, you know,
- 7:26Speaker 2: when you crossed..
- 7:28Speaker 1: But how is that right? Marjorie Taylor Greene was one
- 7:31Speaker 1: of Trump's biggest supporters in the very beginning and had
- 7:35Speaker 1: been that all along. Just because she disagrees with him
- 7:39Speaker 1: on the Epstein files... and I don't know if she
- 7:42Speaker 1: disagreed with him on the Iran war, but just because
- 7:46Speaker 1: she disagrees with him on the Epstein files doesn't make
- 7:49Speaker 1: her an evil person. I mean, this is my problem,
- 7:53Speaker 1: I guess I could say, if I had to look
- 7:56Speaker 1: at Trump and say, this is my problem I have
- 7:57Speaker 1: with Trump is, if you think that people that help
- 8:00Speaker 1: you get elected, Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and you
- 8:08Speaker 1: suddenly say, well, they disagree with me on the Epstein files,
- 8:13Speaker 1: or they disagree with me on Iran, that you're going
- 8:17Speaker 1: to talk that they're all low IQ and a bunch
- 8:19Speaker 1: of bums after they help you get elected, after they
- 8:23Speaker 1: were all, after you thought of them so much that
- 8:26Speaker 1: you put them on stage with you? I mean, I
- 8:29Speaker 1: think that's a big character flaw with Trump. I mean,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I think that's a..
- 8:39Speaker 2: At the Covelli Center when she made that ring around
- 8:42Speaker 2: waving at everyone, the people loved her. She was respected.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Her problem was not just the Epstein files. She wanted
- 8:52Speaker 2: Trump to go after America first. She wanted Trump to
- 8:55Speaker 2: go after Fauci, which he didn't do. That's still a
- 8:59Speaker 2: big problem.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Listen, I would agree with that while you got me
- 9:04Speaker 1: on it. It's really stupid, in my opinion, to go
- 9:08Speaker 1: what they're trying to do with Comey with this shells
- 9:11Speaker 1: of what, 86, 47. I mean, this is ridiculous.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Well, actually, no, if you listen.
- 9:16Speaker 4: No, no, no, no.
- 9:17Speaker 1: It's ridiculous. I mean, if you want to go, I'm
- 9:20Speaker 1: all for going after Fauci and funding the lab. and
- 9:25Speaker 1: the cover-up with COVID, I have no problem with that
- 9:28Speaker 1: at all. I don't have any problem if you want
- 9:30Speaker 1: to go after any of these FBI guys on this
- 9:33Speaker 1: facade of Russiagate. in this nonsense, but by taking a
- 9:38Speaker 1: picture of 86-47 that he says he stumbled upon on
- 9:42Speaker 1: a beach and say, oh, we're going to go after
- 9:44Speaker 1: him because it's a threat. I just think it's a
- 9:48Speaker 1: giant waste of time. I cannot justify it. Listen, Jimmy
- 9:53Speaker 1: Kimmel tells a bad joke, and I don't watch Jimmy Kimmel.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I don't care what Jimmy Kimmel has to say. If
- 10:00Speaker 1: ABC wants to continue to air the show and lose money,
- 10:03Speaker 1: it's their prerogative to I get concerned when we're suddenly
- 10:07Speaker 1: going to start to say, well, we're going to go
- 10:10Speaker 1: after hate speech or speech we don't approve of. Because
- 10:13Speaker 1: when Biden did it, I didn't agree with it then either.
- 10:16Speaker 1: When Biden was shutting down people who disagreed with him,
- 10:19Speaker 1: the scientists that were totally opposed to him on COVID
- 10:22Speaker 1: and silencing them on social media, I didn't go for that. Well,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm not going to go for it if Trump tries
- 10:29Speaker 1: to do it, too. I don't care about Jimmy Kimmel's
- 10:32Speaker 1: stupid joke. And I think his rating sucks. So if
- 10:36Speaker 1: he goes away, he goes away. If he doesn't, he doesn't.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It doesn't affect me. I don't care. And the thing
- 10:41Speaker 1: with Comey, I think, is a giant waste of time.
- 10:44Speaker 1: There are other more important issues to deal with other
- 10:47Speaker 1: than a picture he posts of a bunch of C cells.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Period.
- 10:52Speaker 1: It's just a waste of time. And it seems petty
- 10:55Speaker 1: to me, just as I'm saying to you, I voted
- 10:58Speaker 1: for Trump. I'd vote for him again tomorrow. I wouldn't
- 11:01Speaker 1: vote for the Democrats at all. They're insane as far
- 11:04Speaker 1: as I'm concerned. But that doesn't mean I can't sit
- 11:06Speaker 1: here and criticize Trump as well. I'm not going to
- 11:09Speaker 1: embrace $ 4. 30 a gallon or $ 4. 99 a gallon. I'm not
- 11:14Speaker 1: going to embrace it. I'm not going to go for it.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I mean, when you talk about Iran, I don't think
- 11:21Speaker 1: it was this imminent threat either. Many people say he
- 11:25Speaker 1: was influenced by Israel to do this. And then, of course,
- 11:28Speaker 1: you got the people all he was talking about this
- 11:29Speaker 1: years ago. But why did he act now? Why did
- 11:32Speaker 1: he do it now? Was it a good move? How
- 11:36Speaker 1: are you going to get out of this? Because it
- 11:38Speaker 1: doesn't seem like as much as you bombed Iran that
- 11:40Speaker 1: they're throwing a towel in yet. You got the blockade
- 11:43Speaker 1: and you keep telling me every day that we're draining
- 11:45Speaker 1: them of everything. Well, when's this going to happen?
- 11:48Speaker 2: Real quick, one quick rebuttal. Todd Blanche came out today
- 11:52Speaker 2: and addressed your point on Comey about the silly pitcher.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And he said that people, you have to be aware
- 12:00Speaker 2: that a grand jury indicted him. The grand jury..
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but that means nothing. You know, when you go
- 12:06Speaker 1: in front of a grand jury, there isn't a defense.
- 12:09Speaker 2: They have a ton of evidence of wrongdoing by Comey
- 12:13Speaker 2: outside of that pitcher.
- 12:15Speaker 1: But that's what you're going for? Yeah, but I mean...
- 12:19Speaker 1: It seems petty to me. It genuinely seems ridiculous to me.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Go after where I want all of the cases on
- 12:29Speaker 1: the Somalians stealing all the money in Minnesota or whatever's
- 12:34Speaker 1: going on in Ohio or all the fraud that's going on.
- 12:38Speaker 2: That'll never happen.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Well, this is stuff that's important to me. What's important
- 12:43Speaker 1: to me, what Elon Musk was exposing of all the
- 12:45Speaker 1: waste of my tax dollars that was being exposed through Doge,
- 12:49Speaker 1: that's what's important to me. Where's that? All these people
- 12:53Speaker 1: that are committing fraud, I would want to see them
- 12:56Speaker 1: go after that. The people that did Russiagate and put
- 12:59Speaker 1: that together. Fauci and the COVID situation. This is the
- 13:03Speaker 1: stuff I'm interested in. I don't give a damn about
- 13:05Speaker 1: Comey in a picture of seashells or whatever the hell.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I'm having a hard time with it. I don't care.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It looks petty. It looks petty to me. I don't
- 13:13Speaker 1: care about Jimmy Kimmel. And that's all. I think it
- 13:18Speaker 1: waters down the important stuff. Where's the beef, as they
- 13:22Speaker 1: used to say years ago? That's what I'm looking for.
- 13:24Speaker 2: The clock on Fauci runs out on May 11th. If
- 13:27Speaker 2: they don't indict him by May 11th, he's off scot-free.
- 13:31Speaker 1: And Trump, listen, I'm not happy with the gas prices.
- 13:36Speaker 1: And Trump turning on Margie Taylor Greene and Tucker and
- 13:38Speaker 1: Candace Owens. There's nothing about it I like at all.
- 13:42Speaker 2: It's not just gas prices. Wait till you see your
- 13:45Speaker 2: food prices.
- 13:46Speaker 1: You're right.
- 13:47Speaker 2: And look at all the businesses that were on the
- 13:48Speaker 2: news tonight, these guys running landscaping businesses.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You've got to raise your prices, yeah. And that affects
- 13:54Speaker 1: every customer.
- 13:56Speaker 2: It's going to trickle down to everything.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You got it. Absolutely right. All right. Thank you, my friends.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Appreciate it. You're on the air.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Hey, Ron. Question. And this is a business question. So
- 14:10Speaker 3: all these landscaping guys, are they going to raise their
- 14:13Speaker 3: prices or are they just going to put on a
- 14:15Speaker 3: fuel surcharge?
- 14:16Speaker 1: They're going to raise their prices.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Okay. So when gas goes down in six months from
- 14:22Speaker 3: now or next summer, let's say gas is back down
- 14:24Speaker 3: to $ 3 a gallon, are they going to lower their prices?
- 14:27Speaker 1: More than likely they're not because the problem that you
- 14:29Speaker 1: have is that business has is how much insurance has
- 14:34Speaker 1: gone up, double digit increases on insurance. The cost of equipment,
- 14:39Speaker 1: the cost of parts, the cost of repairs, it's not
- 14:41Speaker 1: just gasoline, but gasoline is a major factor of all
- 14:46Speaker 1: of that stuff. But it certainly is a huge problem
- 14:50Speaker 1: right now for everybody. You're garbage, man. If diesel's, what,
- 14:55Speaker 1: $ 6 a gallon? Listen, I'm not going to act like
- 14:58Speaker 1: that this isn't a big problem for everybody and everybody's
- 15:01Speaker 1: going to pay more. All of us are going to
- 15:03Speaker 1: pay at the grocery store or whatever. Can prices come down?
- 15:06Speaker 1: They can. But do they come down quickly? More than
- 15:10Speaker 1: likely not. I mean, inflation is– I'm not a Trump
- 15:15Speaker 1: cheerleader on this. This is– if gas is $ 4. 69 or
- 15:20Speaker 1: $ 5 a gallon, then what's shortly? Are we supposed to
- 15:24Speaker 1: say it's okay if it's a month like that or
- 15:26Speaker 1: two weeks like that?
- 15:28Speaker 3: But the point I'm trying to make is once you
- 15:31Speaker 3: raise a price, if you're a business person, and once
- 15:33Speaker 3: you raise a price, the chance that you're ever going
- 15:37Speaker 3: to decrease that price, even if your costs decrease. you're
- 15:40Speaker 3: probably not going to decrease that price as long as
- 15:43Speaker 3: people are still willing to pay it.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Well, there's still competition. I mean, if you take a look,
- 15:49Speaker 1: home prices have decreased in large parts of the country
- 15:52Speaker 1: from where they were. I mean, prices do come down.
- 15:54Speaker 1: The price of lumber can come down. The price of
- 15:57Speaker 1: homes can come down. The price of services can come
- 16:00Speaker 1: down because there's still competition.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Well, but it increased substantially, though. I mean, home prices.
- 16:08Speaker 3: I mean, houses in my neighborhood are selling double what
- 16:11Speaker 3: they were 10 years ago. And the three that have
- 16:15Speaker 3: just sold recently are all selling at record high prices.
- 16:18Speaker 3: So it's possible they've come down maybe 5% due to
- 16:21Speaker 3: the loss of demand. But they haven't retracted the 30%, 40%, 50%, 80%
- 16:25Speaker 3: gains that they made over the last decade.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Well, I don't necessarily think they're going to do that.
- 16:30Speaker 1: And your wages haven't gone down. 30%, 40%. I mean,
- 16:34Speaker 1: you don't... We're not going to go to the person
- 16:38Speaker 1: on minimum wage that we're paying. Stand by, Rich. Stand by.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Back with Rich, the pharmacist, and more of your calls.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Ron Verb, we're here until 7. Always interesting talking to Rich.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Look forward to more conversation with him in a minute.
- 16:52Speaker 1: 570 WKBN. All right. Listen, this thing has got to
- 16:58Speaker 1: get wrapped up in Iran. And... We shall see. It's
- 17:03Speaker 1: just got to get wrapped up. And he's Trump's got
- 17:07Speaker 1: to get back to affordability and the price of a
- 17:11Speaker 1: barrel of oil. It's not getting better. It's getting worse.
- 17:16Speaker 3: I hope it does get wrapped up. I just think
- 17:18Speaker 3: it's going to take another at least another month or two.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Because I think it's going to take that long for
- 17:23Speaker 3: Iran's economy to just basically run out of money and collapse.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Well, they could also be doing that to our economy
- 17:32Speaker 1: at the same time.
- 17:32Speaker 3: You have to remember, if we catch a cold, the
- 17:37Speaker 3: rest of the world has pneumonia. We're as good as
- 17:40Speaker 3: it gets. I mean, as bad as it is here.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I understand all of that, but I'm just trying to
- 17:46Speaker 1: deal with reality. Remember, Iran, they're not stupid. They think
- 17:52Speaker 1: they can destroy this economy, too.
- 17:55Speaker 3: But they can't. This is not going to destroy our
- 17:58Speaker 3: economy in no way, shape, or form. Is this going
- 18:01Speaker 3: to destroy our economy? I don't even know that this
- 18:04Speaker 3: is necessarily going to put us into a recession. Because
- 18:07Speaker 3: Wall Street, if it was, Wall Street is forward-looking. The
- 18:10Speaker 3: markets are forward-looking.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Well, they're all down today.
- 18:15Speaker 3: But you can't look at it day-to-day. My neighbor is
- 18:17Speaker 3: the same way as you. He keeps telling me, we're
- 18:20Speaker 3: looking at day-to-day. If you're an economist, you don't manage
- 18:26Speaker 3: the economy on a day-to-day basis. You have to be forward-looking.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Same way for business. You run a business. You're not
- 18:32Speaker 3: running your business day-to-day. You're forward-looking. You're looking at where
- 18:35Speaker 3: things are going.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Well, you better be paying attention day-to-day. I mean, it
- 18:38Speaker 1: says right here, Dow slides more than 250 points, posting
- 18:42Speaker 1: a fifth day of losses as oil prices rise.
- 18:45Speaker 3: And it did, but the NASDAQ was up. And I
- 18:48Speaker 3: think the S & P was up. And irregardless, there's
- 18:53Speaker 3: still a close to record highs. Based on everything that's
- 18:56Speaker 3: happened in the last two months... they should have retracted
- 18:59Speaker 3: probably 10 to 20% by now. We should have had
- 19:01Speaker 3: some type of a big correction. And while we had
- 19:04Speaker 3: a minor one and bounced back from it, we haven't
- 19:07Speaker 3: seen that. And I don't anticipate that you'll see a 20%
- 19:10Speaker 3: correction or a 30% correction. It's not going to be
- 19:13Speaker 3: like 2000. You're not going to see 2000. This is
- 19:15Speaker 3: not going to cause 2008. You're not going to see
- 19:18Speaker 3: us drop, you know, have a 40, 60% drop in
- 19:21Speaker 3: the value of equities. This, too, shall pass. But that
- 19:26Speaker 3: isn't actually why I called. I'd like to go even
- 19:30Speaker 3: back to local issues and ask you what you thought
- 19:34Speaker 3: of Mark Hanna repeating his father's feat of creating a
- 19:39Speaker 3: drive-thru at an establishment.
- 19:41Speaker 1: That didn't have one. Listen, I think that, obviously, his dad,
- 19:47Speaker 1: as he was driving to the post office years ago,
- 19:50Speaker 1: and I think Mark wasn't drunk or anything like that.
- 19:54Speaker 1: They want to imply something when he ran into an
- 20:00Speaker 1: Arby's somewhere. What do I think about it?
- 20:04Speaker 3: I thought it was hysterical.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Right, but I mean, it's... I don't know what to
- 20:12Speaker 1: say about any of this stuff other than I think
- 20:16Speaker 1: it's ridiculous to make the comparison. It might be funny,
- 20:19Speaker 1: but I don't think it has anything to do with
- 20:21Speaker 1: the election. I was just looking, you know, the people
- 20:23Speaker 1: that put these texts out, these political parties that put
- 20:26Speaker 1: it out.
- 20:27Speaker 3: I was listening to your podcast the other day, and
- 20:30Speaker 3: it's ridiculous that they would even say that. I mean,
- 20:33Speaker 3: I'm not voting for Hannah. I think I'm not a
- 20:35Speaker 3: big fan. I think his opponent.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Is more qualified. This is a text they put out today.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I'll let you finish in a minute. Judge Hanai really
- 20:43Speaker 1: does follow his Democrat father's footsteps. Judge Mark Hanai crashed
- 20:47Speaker 1: into the Bridgeport Arby's, leaving shattered windows at the restaurant
- 20:51Speaker 1: and caused damage to the building's interior and exterior. Judge
- 20:54Speaker 1: Hanai wasn't even charged with a traffic citation. Is this
- 20:57Speaker 1: because he was endorsed by the Belmont Sheriff? The bottom
- 21:01Speaker 1: line is that Judge Mark Hanai is reckless behind a
- 21:04Speaker 1: wheel and behind a bench. That's just ridiculous. And I mean,
- 21:10Speaker 1: he thought, once again, he's one of these people who
- 21:15Speaker 1: thought he had it in park and he didn't, and
- 21:18Speaker 1: he hit the gas instead of the brake. I don't
- 21:21Speaker 1: know what to say about that statement. Some of the
- 21:25Speaker 1: newer cars are different than the ones I drive. You know,
- 21:28Speaker 1: I have this thing on the steering column front or,
- 21:31Speaker 1: you know, park and all that kind of stuff. But
- 21:33Speaker 1: on my wife's car, it's different on the new cars.
- 21:38Speaker 1: In some of the cars, it's all push buttons.
- 21:41Speaker 3: If you're driving an older car that's 10 years older,
- 21:45Speaker 3: so you don't even know what we're talking about probably. Right.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I mean, I understand it can get confusing. And what
- 21:50Speaker 1: was he in a Cadillac? escalate or something like that.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I mean, I think the people that are putting out
- 21:58Speaker 1: that stuff, like the thing I read the other day about, standby, standby.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Back with Rich, a pharmacist. We'll talk more what he
- 22:04Speaker 1: has to say. I got plenty of discussion with Rich
- 22:06Speaker 1: to come and more of your calls ahead. News Radio
- 22:09Speaker 1: 570 WKVN. It's 634. It's 49 degrees on this April
- 22:15Speaker 1: 29th on another wet day. News Radio 570 WKVN. Back
- 22:19Speaker 1: with Rich, a pharmacist. I mean, I want to just
- 22:23Speaker 1: go back to the beginning. I mean, you obviously support
- 22:25Speaker 1: the situation with Iran. You think it was the right move, correct?
- 22:29Speaker 3: I think historically it will prove to be the right move.
- 22:33Speaker 3: And I could be wrong. I'm not a soothsayer by
- 22:36Speaker 3: any stretch. I can't predict the future. But just looking
- 22:40Speaker 3: at things from a historical perspective, which I like to do,
- 22:44Speaker 3: I think it was the right move. I think Clinton
- 22:46Speaker 3: could have done it against North Korea in the 90s.
- 22:49Speaker 3: He was told you probably should do it, and he
- 22:51Speaker 3: wouldn't pull the trigger. And now you're dealing with those
- 22:54Speaker 3: nutjobs that have nukes. And Iran was headed there. Was
- 22:57Speaker 3: it an imminent threat?
- 22:58Speaker 5: No.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Were they going to have a nuclear bomb targeted the
- 23:01Speaker 3: United States five months from now? No. Were they probably
- 23:04Speaker 3: five or six years from now?
- 23:06Speaker 6: Yes.
- 23:06Speaker 3: They would have had the missile technology and the nuclear
- 23:09Speaker 3: capability to hit us.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Do you think Israel influenced the decision at all?
- 23:14Speaker 3: Of course they did. Because what country wouldn't? If you
- 23:18Speaker 3: were Israel, wouldn't you try to influence us into doing it?
- 23:22Speaker 3: Because you've got a country that you've lived with next
- 23:25Speaker 3: to basically since the Shawville 50-some years ago that has
- 23:30Speaker 3: basically said they want to wipe Israel off the map.
- 23:33Speaker 3: They want to nuke Israel. They want to kill all
- 23:34Speaker 3: the Jews. So if you're Israel, of course you tried
- 23:39Speaker 3: to influence us into the war. It would almost be
- 23:42Speaker 3: political malpractice if you didn't.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And do you think they perhaps went to Trump and said, hey,
- 23:48Speaker 1: all these leaders are in one place at this particular time,
- 23:51Speaker 1: we can wipe them all out, and that's why you acted?
- 23:53Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely. It was 100% the Mossad that did that.
- 23:57Speaker 3: And Netanyahu knew they were going to be there, and
- 24:00Speaker 3: they did it. In my opinion, it was brilliant. You'd
- 24:03Speaker 3: knocked out, what was it, 40 or almost 50 of
- 24:06Speaker 3: the main people in Iran's leadership. You killed all of them.
- 24:10Speaker 3: It's too bad you couldn't have killed every single one
- 24:12Speaker 3: of them. But you can't. I mean, I think, unfortunately,
- 24:18Speaker 3: we're not a patient people. If you want to look
- 24:21Speaker 3: at it, if you want to look at history, do
- 24:23Speaker 3: you know who caused Japan or what caused Japan to
- 24:26Speaker 3: bomb us? Whose fault it was. Why did Japan attack
- 24:29Speaker 3: us at Pearl Harbor? Who was responsible for that? We were.
- 24:35Speaker 3: We stopped selling them oil because of what they were
- 24:37Speaker 3: doing to China. The rape of Nanking, the war they
- 24:40Speaker 3: were fighting in China, they were committing god-awful human atrocities,
- 24:44Speaker 3: so we stopped selling them oil. At the time, we
- 24:47Speaker 3: were the world's biggest supplier of oil, and they didn't
- 24:49Speaker 3: really have another source. So they were going to run
- 24:52Speaker 3: out of oil within a matter of, I think it
- 24:55Speaker 3: was a year or two. So they basically, we backed
- 24:58Speaker 3: them into a corner where they pretty much didn't have
- 25:00Speaker 3: a choice. It was either attack us or get out
- 25:02Speaker 3: of China, which they weren't willing to do. So they
- 25:05Speaker 3: attacked us, and that's what started World War II.
- 25:07Speaker 1: You do things, you.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Make decisions as a country. Geopolitics is... You're playing chess
- 25:14Speaker 3: on many levels when you're doing geopolitics. It's not a
- 25:17Speaker 3: simple yes or no on many of these issues. There
- 25:20Speaker 3: are a variety of things you can do that result
- 25:23Speaker 3: in a variety of outcomes. Maybe this was the wrong outcome.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I could be totally wrong, and this could end up
- 25:30Speaker 3: costing us a fortune. But so far, it's cost us
- 25:33Speaker 3: $ 25 billion, I think. We left $ 85 billion worth of
- 25:39Speaker 3: equipment in Afghanistan in that debacle.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I don't know how you really come up with a
- 25:48Speaker 1: figure yet, or if anybody can accurately do that based
- 25:51Speaker 1: on the amount of... When you're launching those missiles off
- 25:54Speaker 1: and everything, they're a million-plus dollars, and then you have
- 25:58Speaker 1: to replace them. I mean, there's a lot of money
- 25:59Speaker 1: being spent there. I'm not talking about the salaries that
- 26:02Speaker 1: are paid on a regular basis or any of that
- 26:04Speaker 1: kind of stuff, but I'm sure there's a lot of expense.
- 26:06Speaker 2: No.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I don't know that we know what that number is,
- 26:09Speaker 1: but it isn't about the number.
- 26:10Speaker 3: It's about Congress.
- 26:12Speaker 1: It is about it.
- 26:13Speaker 3: It was testifying today. That's what the Pentagon bean counter said.
- 26:17Speaker 3: As of right now, the estimate is $ 25 billion that
- 26:19Speaker 3: this war has cost us so far. Yeah.
- 26:22Speaker 1: You know how reliable those numbers are.
- 26:25Speaker 3: It's like they throw billions around like it's pocket change.
- 26:29Speaker 5: Right.
- 26:29Speaker 1: But I mean, the question is, was it the right
- 26:32Speaker 1: thing to do or wasn't it the right thing to do?
- 26:33Speaker 1: I mean, that's really the question. You seem to think
- 26:36Speaker 1: it's the right thing to do. We don't know. Well,
- 26:40Speaker 1: you're speculation. I'm saying you seem to think it's the
- 26:42Speaker 1: right thing to do. But it can't drag on. You
- 26:44Speaker 1: say we're an impatient people. But the country as a
- 26:48Speaker 1: whole doesn't seem like it supports it. isn't behind the move.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And that's very troubling because if it does escalate and
- 26:57Speaker 1: the country's not behind you, you've got a big problem
- 27:00Speaker 1: as far as the people in power because..
- 27:02Speaker 3: Well, ask LBJ how that worked out for him.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Right. And the negative side of it is how it's,
- 27:11Speaker 1: the distance it is from the supplies, if you will,
- 27:15Speaker 1: the distance away that Iran is. Once again, we're trying
- 27:20Speaker 1: to deal with a country that's like a Vietnam scenario
- 27:26Speaker 1: all over, like an Afghan or take a look at
- 27:28Speaker 1: the Middle East in general scenario all over again. We
- 27:31Speaker 1: haven't been very successful with fighting people in their own
- 27:37Speaker 1: When they're defending their own land, if you will, and
- 27:40Speaker 1: we are not. Do I think Trump's got him in
- 27:42Speaker 1: a good place? Yeah, with the bombing and with the blockade,
- 27:45Speaker 1: I do think he's got him in a good place.
- 27:48Speaker 1: How long will that take? I don't know enough about
- 27:51Speaker 1: them and their culture. If he's got them in a
- 27:54Speaker 1: good place, will they throw in the white flag this week,
- 27:57Speaker 1: next week, a month from now, or never? I don't
- 28:00Speaker 1: know what the answer to that is. I hope he's right.
- 28:04Speaker 1: All of these people are a lot smarter than I
- 28:06Speaker 1: am on this, and they have a lot more information.
- 28:08Speaker 1: I would like to see it get resolved quickly.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Like I've said, what I don't understand is why they
- 28:16Speaker 3: aren't at least looking at temporarily restricting U.S. exports of
- 28:22Speaker 3: oil products. Because up until, I think it was 2016,
- 28:26Speaker 3: when Paul Ryan made the deal with Obama, it was
- 28:28Speaker 3: illegal to export oil-based products from the United States. So
- 28:34Speaker 3: if we went back to that, our gas prices would
- 28:36Speaker 3: be back where they were within weeks, because we have
- 28:39Speaker 3: plenty of oil in this country. There's no reason, except
- 28:42Speaker 3: that we compete in a world market, there's no reason
- 28:45Speaker 3: at all we should be paying this. So I would just,
- 28:49Speaker 3: you know, see if you should put a bill in
- 28:50Speaker 3: Congress and just say, hey, until this is over, we're
- 28:53Speaker 3: going to restrict exports of hydrocarbons from the United States
- 28:57Speaker 3: of America. Let the rest of the world suffer, because
- 29:00Speaker 3: they won't come to our aid. I mean, If nothing
- 29:03Speaker 3: else comes from this, and I've said this, I think
- 29:07Speaker 3: after this is over, it's time to really reassess our
- 29:10Speaker 3: priorities as a country and think about what we're going
- 29:13Speaker 3: to do with the world. Because I'm done playing World Cop,
- 29:17Speaker 3: especially after this. I don't understand, 80 years after World
- 29:22Speaker 3: War II, why we still have 100,000 troops in Europe,
- 29:23Speaker 3: 50,000 troops, 80,000 in Japan, 50,000 in the Koreas. It's crazy.
- 29:30Speaker 3: for us and for us to put that bill we
- 29:32Speaker 3: do it and not be appreciated market helped out when
- 29:35Speaker 3: we need the help Europe needs that oil. We don't
- 29:38Speaker 3: need Middle East oil. Europe does. And yet they won't
- 29:41Speaker 3: send anybody to help unblock the strait. You know, so
- 29:46Speaker 3: when this is over, as far as I'm concerned, bring
- 29:48Speaker 3: all the troops home, build Fortress America, put them on
- 29:51Speaker 3: the southern border, the northern border, wherever you want to
- 29:53Speaker 3: do with them, and let the rest of the world
- 29:55Speaker 3: figure it out for themselves.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I..
- 29:59Speaker 3: I think I heard a thing. Go ahead. The Ukraine War.
- 30:03Speaker 3: I think I was listening to the two on in
- 30:06Speaker 3: the morning, Armstrong and Getty. Yes. And they quoted a guy,
- 30:09Speaker 3: I think it was a Polish prime minister or something,
- 30:11Speaker 3: that basically said, why is Europe, a country of, I
- 30:15Speaker 3: think they said 500 or 600 million people, bullying a
- 30:19Speaker 3: country of 300, 350 million people, the United States, to
- 30:25Speaker 3: win a war against a country of 160 million people,
- 30:28Speaker 3: which is Russia? And it's a great way to look
- 30:32Speaker 3: at it. Why does everybody expect us to go help
- 30:35Speaker 3: out Ukraine? And I mean, I've supported that. I don't
- 30:38Speaker 3: mind selling them weapons and stuff like that, but I
- 30:40Speaker 3: don't want to see a single boot on the ground.
- 30:43Speaker 3: But why does Europe expect us to come ride to
- 30:45Speaker 3: the rescue all the time and spend our money, put
- 30:48Speaker 3: our boys' lives at risk, to bail them out all
- 30:51Speaker 3: the time? I'm just done with it. We did it
- 30:53Speaker 3: twice in the last century. cost hundreds of thousands of
- 30:57Speaker 3: American lives, and they still don't like us. So the
- 30:59Speaker 3: heck with them. Just bring everybody home.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Well, I certainly, listen, it's a debate worth having. I mean,
- 31:07Speaker 1: I understand the people that are opposed to this happening
- 31:09Speaker 1: in the first place in Iran, and I understand the
- 31:11Speaker 1: people that are for it. And I get both sides
- 31:15Speaker 1: of it. And I don't know where this will head.
- 31:19Speaker 1: And I do think I get the impression, at least,
- 31:23Speaker 1: that Trump and he's the power structure thinks that this
- 31:26Speaker 1: would be over sooner than later. And perhaps even thought
- 31:30Speaker 1: it would be over sooner that it's dragged down longer
- 31:33Speaker 1: than he originally thought. Sometimes I get the impression that they,
- 31:36Speaker 1: that they thought this would have been over long before
- 31:39Speaker 1: we're even at the point we're at now. So, I mean,
- 31:41Speaker 1: when I look at what they did from a bombing campaign,
- 31:44Speaker 1: it all is very successful. When I look at the blockade,
- 31:46Speaker 1: it's very successful. Will it bring Iran to its knees
- 31:49Speaker 1: to where that this will be resolved? Uh, Or will
- 31:54Speaker 1: Iran say, screw you, we're not giving in to you,
- 31:58Speaker 1: and we'll destroy your economy as you destroy ours? It
- 32:01Speaker 1: could go either way. Would you not agree? They can't
- 32:03Speaker 1: destroy our economy.
- 32:05Speaker 3: They do not have the ability in any way, shape,
- 32:08Speaker 3: or form, aside from somehow attacking us with a nuclear weapon.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I'm not talking about any nuclear weapon. I'm talking about
- 32:15Speaker 1: the oil markets and ultimately what can happen and the
- 32:19Speaker 1: relationships you can have with the countries that will... suffer tremendously.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I mean, as far as food, there's other aspects of this.
- 32:27Speaker 1: There's fertilizer, there's oil, there's food issues that are in
- 32:32Speaker 1: some of these other countries.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Once again, the geopolitics, this isn't just us versus Iran.
- 32:39Speaker 3: This is us. You know who's really going to hurt
- 32:41Speaker 3: from this? They've built up a heck of a reserve,
- 32:44Speaker 3: but it gives China food for thought because if they
- 32:48Speaker 3: want to take Taiwan, we can shut off all of
- 32:50Speaker 3: their oil imports. We can shut off. We can block
- 32:54Speaker 3: the Strait of Hormuz. You know who can't? The Chinese.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Well, I disagree with you. I don't buy this, that
- 33:02Speaker 1: we're isolated from all of this stuff. The only good
- 33:04Speaker 1: news I heard was Saudi Arabia says they want out
- 33:07Speaker 1: of OPEC. That's the only good news I've heard lately,
- 33:09Speaker 1: because OPEC is..
- 33:11Speaker 3: The UAE went out.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Okay. Not Saudi Arabia. It's the UAE.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:16Speaker 1: They went out because they got a pipeline for 2
- 33:18Speaker 1: million barrels. And they say they want to pump more
- 33:21Speaker 1: than be restricted by OPEC and what they want to do. Well,
- 33:26Speaker 1: I'm all for that. That's the only good sign that
- 33:30Speaker 1: I've seen.
- 33:31Speaker 3: And you're going to see other countries that I was
- 33:33Speaker 3: reading today. I read a lot of the Wall Street
- 33:35Speaker 3: Journal in the morning when I wake up. And you're
- 33:37Speaker 3: going to see a lot of countries... Saudi Arabia and
- 33:40Speaker 3: the UAE have a pipeline over to the Red Sea,
- 33:42Speaker 3: so they're still exporting. Saudi's doing, I think, 8 million
- 33:45Speaker 3: a day. I forget what the UAE is. It's 2
- 33:47Speaker 3: or 4 million barrels a day. They're able to still
- 33:50Speaker 3: pump out through the Red Sea. But you're going to
- 33:53Speaker 3: see a lot of these countries. I think Iraq is
- 33:55Speaker 3: looking at it. Some of the other countries are doing
- 33:57Speaker 3: a pipeline through, like, Syria, Turkey, and up into Europe
- 34:02Speaker 3: that way. because they don't want to be held hostage
- 34:06Speaker 3: in the future. You know, it only takes a, you know,
- 34:09Speaker 3: if something happens to you once and you don't learn
- 34:11Speaker 3: from it, shame on you. And I think you're going
- 34:13Speaker 3: to see a lot of these countries look at de-risking
- 34:16Speaker 3: from the Strait of Hormuz. They don't want to be
- 34:18Speaker 3: held hostage there. The other one is the strait that
- 34:21Speaker 3: opens the Red Sea, because if you remember, the Houthis
- 34:24Speaker 3: blocked all that transit through the Red Sea through the
- 34:28Speaker 3: Suez Canal for the last two years. And people are
- 34:31Speaker 3: going around there, you know, causing a lot of havoc.
- 34:34Speaker 3: So it's going to change things, but it's unpredictable what's
- 34:38Speaker 3: going to happen. Obviously, I just think in the end,
- 34:42Speaker 3: I think this will prove to be in our best
- 34:44Speaker 3: interest that we've done this. But I could be wrong.
- 34:48Speaker 3: And if I'm wrong, I'll be the first person to
- 34:49Speaker 3: admit I'm wrong. The only other thing I would say
- 34:52Speaker 3: is you had three callers. I think you had Frank,
- 34:54Speaker 3: you had Denise, and then the last guy that called.
- 34:56Speaker 3: I forget who that is. But a couple weeks ago
- 34:59Speaker 3: I told you the rise of anti-Semitism in the Republican Party,
- 35:03Speaker 3: and you said, no, you didn't mean the Democrat Party. No,
- 35:06Speaker 3: I mean the Republican Party. That's one of the most
- 35:09Speaker 3: disturbing things for me, is all these people blame Israel,
- 35:12Speaker 3: Israel this, Israel that. Number one, I don't think they
- 35:16Speaker 3: have that kind of control over our economy and the world.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Well, many people do.
- 35:20Speaker 3: They're going to privatize the state of Ohio.
- 35:22Speaker 1: It's ridiculous. Oh, yeah, that is absolutely ridiculous. But their
- 35:26Speaker 1: lobby group is extremely powerful in Washington, D.C. It is.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I don't think the people are expressing concern over that.
- 35:35Speaker 1: I don't think they're a bunch of dummies. I think
- 35:37Speaker 1: that they're just expressing concern over the power, how much
- 35:40Speaker 1: power that lobbyist group has on our policies. And that's
- 35:44Speaker 1: of concern. I've just got another email from somebody. New
- 35:48Speaker 1: in Raccoon Road, Shell Station now at $ 5 a gallon.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Yeah, if it does, I mean, over the next month,
- 35:55Speaker 3: if this isn't another month from now, you're going to
- 35:57Speaker 3: be at $ 6, $ 7 a gallon. And, I mean, at
- 35:59Speaker 3: that point, you will probably start to tip into recession
- 36:03Speaker 3: because there's so much energy related to the economy. I
- 36:09Speaker 3: don't know that they're going to be able to... If
- 36:11Speaker 3: you were dealing with a rational government or rational people,
- 36:14Speaker 3: and I ran this would be over. But you're not.
- 36:16Speaker 3: You're dealing with a bunch of religious nutjobs. And it's
- 36:19Speaker 3: just going to be how long it takes them to
- 36:22Speaker 3: figure out they have to cry uncle and give in
- 36:24Speaker 3: to the demands, some of the things they don't want
- 36:26Speaker 3: to do.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Or they might never.
- 36:28Speaker 3: I think if they just gave up the nuclear program,
- 36:30Speaker 3: Trump would sign tomorrow. So stop and think, how important
- 36:34Speaker 3: is it to you that you're willing to destroy your
- 36:37Speaker 3: country just so you can keep enriching uranium. But it
- 36:42Speaker 3: was for peaceful purposes, of course.
- 36:46Speaker 1: We shall see. Iran keeps saying the same thing. We
- 36:50Speaker 1: could destroy America's economy, and if you get to $ 5,
- 36:54Speaker 1: $ 6 a gallon gas, you'll destroy it. You will severely
- 37:00Speaker 1: set it back, and inflation will rear its ugly head
- 37:03Speaker 1: like you've never seen before. And the golden age is
- 37:06Speaker 1: a bunch of golden crap at that point. And don't
- 37:13Speaker 1: discount an enemy and what they can do to you.
- 37:18Speaker 3: The bigger problem than inflation, in all honesty, is the
- 37:22Speaker 3: fact that wages have not kept up with it.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Inflation is a huge problem. Wages aren't going to keep you.
- 37:31Speaker 1: If you want to raise wages, then it only adds
- 37:33Speaker 1: more to inflation.
- 37:35Speaker 3: It has been, but if you look at the buying
- 37:37Speaker 3: power of the middle-class consumer the last 30 years, inflation
- 37:42Speaker 3: has eaten away at that buying power.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Well, I totally agree, but these type of moves can
- 37:48Speaker 1: change it dramatically. I mean, I get all the Trump
- 37:52Speaker 1: apologists with all due respect. Ron, you know, just because
- 37:55Speaker 1: they hear it in the newscast on the hour. You
- 37:57Speaker 1: understand it's these increases where they're shifting the summer blend.
- 38:01Speaker 1: When I read this kind of stuff, gas price up
- 38:03Speaker 1: because gas companies are making this summer blend of gas.
- 38:06Speaker 1: This is ridiculous. Because it didn't go up 70 cents
- 38:11Speaker 1: when they go to the summer blend in the past.
- 38:13Speaker 1: In other words, listen, there are Trump apologists that want
- 38:16Speaker 1: to say, no, none of this is his fault. It's
- 38:18Speaker 1: because it went to the summer blend. That's why it
- 38:19Speaker 1: went up to $ 5 a gallon. No, the price of
- 38:22Speaker 1: a barrel of oil went up today. If you read CNBC,
- 38:25Speaker 1: you'll see why gas prices are going up. They didn't
- 38:29Speaker 1: go up almost a buck a gallon because of the
- 38:31Speaker 1: summer blend. Otherwise, you could go in the past and say, look,
- 38:35Speaker 1: they did it when they did the summer blend. Every
- 38:37Speaker 1: summer it's gone up like that.
- 38:38Speaker 3: I'm going to give you two suggestions since it's almost
- 38:41Speaker 3: 7 o'clock. One, if you could get Dane Davis on
- 38:46Speaker 3: to discuss it, I think his take on it would
- 38:48Speaker 3: be very interesting. And two, about oil, see what Paul
- 38:51Speaker 3: Wyden or his son think about it. I think it
- 38:54Speaker 3: would be very interesting to get their take on where
- 38:56Speaker 3: all this is.
- 38:56Speaker 1: I thought this was a good email a guy sent.
- 38:58Speaker 1: He wants me to read it to you. Well, we're
- 39:00Speaker 1: all standing in a breadline. We won't have to worry
- 39:02Speaker 1: about a nuclear attack by Iran. There you go.
- 39:05Speaker 3: We're not going to be standing in a breadline. We're
- 39:07Speaker 3: not going into a depression.
- 39:09Speaker 1: It's not going to happen.
- 39:10Speaker 3: I mean, not over this.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Diesel used in ships, locomotives, tractor trailers. Diesel is used
- 39:18Speaker 1: in farming. All this should show up as higher shipping
- 39:21Speaker 1: and higher food prices. Just think about those things.
- 39:26Speaker 3: We should have all bought an EV, right?
- 39:28Speaker 1: Maybe so.
- 39:28Speaker 3: All right.
- 39:29Speaker 1: There you go, Rich. Keep in the faith. NewsRadio 570, WKBN.
- 39:34Speaker 1: And Ron Verb, I mean, so when my buddy sent
- 39:38Speaker 1: me that picture, he said all the speedways in Sandusky
- 39:41Speaker 1: are at five bucks a gallon. Now a woman sends
- 39:44Speaker 1: me a picture that's a Shell station on new and
- 39:48Speaker 1: raccoon roads at $ 5 a gallon. So from four 30
- 39:52Speaker 1: to five bucks a gallon in a blink of an eye. Well,
- 39:56Speaker 1: is that because they went the summer blend run? I mean,
- 39:58Speaker 1: that's just Trump apologist. And, and listen, you gotta, you
- 40:03Speaker 1: gotta call it balls and strikes. You gotta call it fairly.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Otherwise you're no different than Biden supporters who made excuses
- 40:09Speaker 1: for everything that went bad with Biden. I'm not here
- 40:12Speaker 1: to make excuses for Trump. I dislike the fact that
- 40:15Speaker 1: he attacks Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens and Marjorie Taylor Greene.
- 40:20Speaker 1: They've got a right to disagree with him on some
- 40:22Speaker 1: issues and still be a supporter, and I don't really
- 40:26Speaker 1: care for that. I'll be back.
- 40:28Speaker 7: Youngstown's News, Weather, and Talk Station, 570 WKBN.
- 40:33Speaker 1: And Ron Ferb, you're on the air.
- 40:36Speaker 6: Ron.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Yes, Mike.
- 40:38Speaker 6: Hey, how are you?
- 40:39Speaker 4: Good.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Comment, please. I'm all ears.
- 40:42Speaker 6: I've got a question for you after listening to Rich
- 40:46Speaker 6: for this, I don't know, forever. Is the America First
- 40:51Speaker 6: agenda winning?
- 40:54Speaker 1: Not right now.
- 40:56Speaker 6: Exactly. And that's going to be the downfall. I don't
- 41:01Speaker 6: care if it's better here than anywhere else. I don't
- 41:04Speaker 6: want to be king poop of crap mountain. You know
- 41:09Speaker 6: what I mean? To keep that on the Do not
- 41:13Speaker 6: to beat me out. But it seems like these other
- 41:16Speaker 6: people will satisfy, they're satisfied with that. It's just a
- 41:20Speaker 6: huge problem. Now, the other thing that, and you, you know,
- 41:24Speaker 6: he was talking, Rich was talking about, you know, the,
- 41:30Speaker 6: I guess the price of landscaping. Well, don't, isn't there a,
- 41:34Speaker 6: obviously he doesn't understand the supply demand curve and what
- 41:38Speaker 6: competition does for that. You know, if they got to
- 41:40Speaker 6: raise prices now, I know prices are sticky, but when
- 41:45Speaker 6: the prices drop, if they ever do, for the inputs,
- 41:54Speaker 6: the landscapers won't be able to charge what they would
- 42:01Speaker 6: if they've got competition versus a monopoly. I mean, I'm
- 42:06Speaker 6: sure that you're really qualified in that area, right?
- 42:10Speaker 1: Listen, I don't care anything that's fuel-oriented. Think of your
- 42:13Speaker 1: garbage truck. Think of the Amazon vans. Think of the
- 42:17Speaker 1: UPS truck. Think of your groceries being delivered. I mean,
- 42:22Speaker 1: when you're paying that for gas, the prices are going
- 42:24Speaker 1: to go up. I mean, they're just going to go
- 42:26Speaker 1: up because they have to go up. Now, it's not
- 42:30Speaker 1: just gasoline. It's the inflation on everything. It's insurance, parts, repairs,
- 42:36Speaker 1: all of that kind of stuff factor in. factor into that.
- 42:39Speaker 1: And they don't come down unless all of that stuff
- 42:44Speaker 1: comes down and competition brings it down. This idea that
- 42:48Speaker 1: they go up, never come down is inaccurate because housing
- 42:51Speaker 1: prices have come down in large sections of this country.
- 42:53Speaker 1: We saw lumber prices that were high come down. So
- 42:56Speaker 1: there's market fluctuations that do take place.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:01Speaker 6: And as long as we have competition, uh... you know
- 43:05Speaker 6: will be okay right it just it's just a matter
- 43:08Speaker 6: of you know the government and then this kind of
- 43:10Speaker 6: time i think frank was i don't know exactly what
- 43:13Speaker 6: he was talking about with you know the public uh...
- 43:16Speaker 6: sector being taken over by individuals but i the elites
- 43:20Speaker 6: have too much influence on the public sector you know
- 43:24Speaker 6: impacts the private sector and that's where we run into
- 43:28Speaker 6: trouble and that's you know just a definite uh... assault
- 43:32Speaker 6: on liberty and freedom And if we don't get back
- 43:39Speaker 6: to the America First agenda, we're done. I don't care
- 43:43Speaker 6: if it's okay with Rich to be paying, oh, by
- 43:47Speaker 6: the way, diesel $ 609 in Erie and $ 339 or $ 349
- 43:49Speaker 6: for regular. $ 339.
- 43:59Speaker 1: All right. Well, five bucks up here. I agree with
- 44:02Speaker 1: your comments. Thank you, Mike. Stay tuned. Hannity's coming up next.
- 44:11Speaker 5: From ABC News, I'm Dave Packer.
- 44:15Speaker 8: Gas prices now at their highest level in four years
- 44:17Speaker 8: fall out from the warning run. AAA's Aixa Diaz has
- 44:20Speaker 8: a gallon of gas now sells at $ 4.
- 44:22Speaker 5: 23 on average.
- 44:24Speaker 4: We've seen a 20 cent jump in gas prices in
- 44:27Speaker 4: the national average in just one week.
- 44:28Speaker 7: And we're paying more than a dollar than we were
- 44:30Speaker 7: this time last year.
- 44:32Speaker 5: And it has to do with crude oil prices.
- 44:34Speaker 8: Skyrocketing oil prices sending tremors through the bond market today.
- 44:37Speaker 8: And his last rate announcement as chairman, the Fed's Jerome
- 44:40Speaker 8: Powell says interest rates will stay where they are.
- 44:42Speaker 9: At today's meeting, the committee decided to maintain the target
- 44:45Speaker 9: range for the federal funds rate at three and a
- 44:46Speaker 9: half to three and three quarters percent. The economic outlook
- 44:50Speaker 9: remains highly uncertain, and the conflict in the Middle East
- 44:53Speaker 9: has added to this uncertainty.
- 44:56Speaker 8: Pete Hegseth on the Hill, the Defense Secretary making the

- 45:04Speaker 10: 5 trillion FY27 budget put forward by the President will

- 45:29Speaker 8: what they call public threats toward President Trump. They say
- 45:32Speaker 8: messages were found written on the back of a windshield
- 45:36Speaker 8: of a car. President Trump said he had a phone
- 45:38Speaker 8: call today with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
- 45:40Speaker 5: He called it a very good conversation.
- 45:42Speaker 1: I suggested a little bit of a ceasefire, and I
- 45:45Speaker 1: think he might do that. He might announce something having
- 45:47Speaker 1: to do with it.
- 45:48Speaker 8: Police calling a stabbing on a London street an act
- 45:50Speaker 8: of terrorism. Metropolitan Police Chief Mark Rowley says two Jewish
- 45:54Speaker 8: men were injured.
- 45:55Speaker 1: This is an attack on one community.
- 45:57Speaker 9: An attack on one community is an attack on all
- 46:00Speaker 9: London's communities.
- 46:01Speaker 8: Rowley says the suspect was arrested after trying to attack

- 47:24Speaker 4: Democrat James Tallarico over incumbent Senator John Cornyn, 44% to 41%,
- 47:29Speaker 4: just outside the poll's margin of error. In a hypothetical
- 47:33Speaker 4: matchup with Ken Paxton, Tallarico holds an even wider lead.
- 47:37Speaker 4: But November is still a long way off, and no

- 48:11Speaker 12: race is on for who gets there first. Boston Dynamics
- 48:14Speaker 12: made a splash earlier this year, unveiling its latest Atlas
