- 0:33Speaker 3: No, not yet. Yeah, maybe tomorrow night. Yeah, maybe it is,
- 0:40Speaker 3: but unfortunately because my wife's scheme too. Yes, but unfortunately
- 0:44Speaker 3: she's kind of busy at the moment for tonight. Yes,
- 0:48Speaker 3: so maybe.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Saturday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Okay, good, Yes, we're.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Also on Sunday or so maybe a five o'clock or
- 0:58Speaker 2: something like that. This is I went to last night
- 1:00Speaker 2: Kezy play Fight, which is from Silo Theater, which is
- 1:05Speaker 2: the same joint that did a View from the Bridge.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Jase right, having a hell of a run they are jeez.
- 1:12Speaker 2: It was good. Ship, It was good, Jesuise ship. It
- 1:15Speaker 2: was good and you should try and get your daughter
- 1:17Speaker 2: to go as well. My daughter absolutely you should, but
- 1:20Speaker 2: don't get cool. But well, I think she'd I think
- 1:23Speaker 2: she'd find it worth while. She'd probably be so she
- 1:25Speaker 2: doesn't sit next to you, right, she probably was a
- 1:28Speaker 2: sexual content in there. Oh yeah, yeah, because maybe your
- 1:32Speaker 2: daughter's going.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I'm just acknowledging.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That she would sit away from you. But it's a
- 1:39Speaker 2: pretty out of it set up. It's in the round, right,
- 1:42Speaker 2: but it's in like an old church or something.
- 1:44Speaker 3: In the round.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Does that mean that performing in the middle. That's right,
- 1:47Speaker 2: same as the other one. Actually view from the bridge.
- 1:49Speaker 3: That was more in the rectangle.
- 1:51Speaker 2: It was in the rectangle in the square. Come on, man,
- 1:54Speaker 2: And but it's in like an old I don't even
- 1:58Speaker 2: know what the building used to be. But maybe it's
- 2:00Speaker 2: a church, keezy.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Church, keyzy church, keezy they call it, I think because.
- 2:06Speaker 3: I was talking to my wife about it last night.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I think the silo must jump around a.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Bit, I think.
- 2:11Speaker 3: And they haven't been there very what, okay, because I've
- 2:14Speaker 3: heard of it up on K Road.
- 2:16Speaker 2: No, No, apparently it's pretty new. But it looks like
- 2:18Speaker 2: a like an old town hall in the middle of nowhere,
- 2:21Speaker 2: rural New Zealand or something like that. But very weird.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And then the whole place is lit, so you're lit
- 2:27Speaker 2: the same as the not that kind of lit key
- 2:30Speaker 2: the lights. Yeah, same thing you could be if you
- 2:32Speaker 2: wanted to be, absolutely you could, but the same as
- 2:35Speaker 2: the actors, you know, so you can see all the audience,
- 2:38Speaker 2: which is a bit disconcerning.
- 2:39Speaker 3: It would be if I was acting. Yeah, I hate that. Yeah,
- 2:43Speaker 3: one of the things, Keezy hello, one of the bonuses.
- 2:48Speaker 3: When you're on stage, you can't see anyone. Yeah, generally speaking,
- 2:50Speaker 3: you're blinded by the stage lights.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I said that, and then I still remember when I
- 2:54Speaker 1: did my first stand up at sky City Theater and
- 2:56Speaker 1: I could see.
- 2:57Speaker 2: You everybody's stony faces, all.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Of you guys. I remember.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I remember actually the first play I ever did, show Boat,
- 3:06Speaker 3: and my director telling me the same thing and saying, Jace,
- 3:10Speaker 3: you're not going to actually see any audience because you're
- 3:12Speaker 3: blinded by the lights when you go on stage and stuff.
- 3:15Speaker 3: And I went, oh, okay, Opening nights. Saw every fucking
- 3:18Speaker 3: face there.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Was to see, I think, to look into the lights, yes,
- 3:22Speaker 2: not into the audience.
- 3:24Speaker 3: And there was a big crowd too, It's like four
- 3:26Speaker 3: five hundred people, so you were shipping yourself.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I remember we did our our Night of Culture comedy
- 3:33Speaker 1: performance we did last year. As soon as I came
- 3:36Speaker 1: out and lay on the ground because it starts with
- 3:37Speaker 1: a mind sequence that I used to do. As soon
- 3:39Speaker 1: as lay on the ground, had a quick sneak peak
- 3:42Speaker 1: and all I could see was Tony Lyle sitting at
- 3:45Speaker 1: the front on the ed snuck in there, didn't he
- 3:47Speaker 1: who was a comedian himself? So it's like, I wonder
- 3:49Speaker 1: who's in the art court a comedian?
- 3:51Speaker 2: Great?
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, the worst kind of audiences, especially for stand
- 3:56Speaker 3: up as comedians.
- 3:57Speaker 2: But to support themselves, support their mates, yeah yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 1: But like at the awards night the other night, there
- 4:04Speaker 1: were a big crew of them, all applauding heaps.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I remember Johnny and I bet you guys are horrible
- 4:10Speaker 3: doing a show in Melbourne. Yes, and there were eight
- 4:14Speaker 3: count them Kiwi comedians in the audience and you'd know
- 4:18Speaker 3: them well, really not a titter is that therefore all yours?
- 4:23Speaker 3: It was a fucking good show. Not a titter. They're
- 4:29Speaker 3: probably on Elios D And it was so disconcerting. We
- 4:33Speaker 3: were like, what the fuck is going on?
- 4:36Speaker 1: Can we name names here?
- 4:37Speaker 3: No?
- 4:37Speaker 1: We can't, right, okay, but you were certain that your
- 4:41Speaker 1: show was good.
- 4:41Speaker 3: It was a good show. Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Was it a jolly good show?
- 4:45Speaker 3: I don't know jolly good, but it was. But you know,
- 4:48Speaker 3: it's one of those scenarios where if you're not getting
- 4:50Speaker 3: anything from the audience and you're doing comedy, it gets
- 4:53Speaker 3: harder and harder.
- 4:55Speaker 2: They are the only ones in the audience. Audience, Yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 2: there was eight of them.
- 4:59Speaker 1: We so you were doing it just to the eight
- 5:01Speaker 1: Kiwi comedians.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yes, we did another show where well, because they were
- 5:07Speaker 3: the only ones that turned.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Up, you wouldn't do it for them, fuckers. If there's anyone,
- 5:10Speaker 2: what do you do?
- 5:11Speaker 3: But then we also had a show where there were
- 5:14Speaker 3: only four women in the audience who sat in the
- 5:17Speaker 3: front who sat in the front row, that's where Johnny
- 5:20Speaker 3: did the big spread eagle leg thing and as far
- 5:22Speaker 3: to us fell out as actual fu true story, and
- 5:25Speaker 3: they just cracked up laughing.
- 5:28Speaker 2: That's just concerning too, when you've got four women in
- 5:30Speaker 2: the front row all cracking up laughing that you're cough
- 5:33Speaker 2: the whole.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Lucky Big Show one days from four on Radio Hurdarchy.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Big Show podcast, they were giggling their whole way through
- 5:43Speaker 3: the show. We felt like strippers.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Bad strippers, but also because it involved a lot of
- 5:48Speaker 1: stripping as well, and it.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Was and they were just giggling the whole way through it,
- 5:52Speaker 3: and we were like, fuck, this is weird.
- 5:54Speaker 2: You would feel like a stripper if you've got your
- 5:55Speaker 2: dick out in front of four woman.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Honestly, just that he was wearing tights, but he was
- 6:00Speaker 3: wearing boxes and he do just this big spread eagled
- 6:05Speaker 3: Shakespearean thing, and the boxes opened up and and as
- 6:10Speaker 3: Fatous came forth, and then he realized what he had
- 6:14Speaker 3: done and immediately clutched himself and stared at me. Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 3: what are you doing? Sorry?
- 6:22Speaker 2: John got his corn. We've got that on video too.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Someone was video can you you put it up on Insta?
- 6:33Speaker 3: John?
- 6:38Speaker 2: Anyway, But back to that, just because I do want
- 6:40Speaker 2: to promo it. It's got mirror Bye Peas Peace, Oh
- 6:45Speaker 2: God live Parker who's on Slippery Treasure Island there and
- 6:51Speaker 2: Anna Scotney and it was brilliant. Five five buzzies get along.
- 6:56Speaker 2: It finishes on Wednesday.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Good stuff.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I'm not really telling you guys, but the audience, you know, yeah, yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 2: because I know you won't get well, you would understand.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I'm actually going to a show this weekend. Oh right,
- 7:08Speaker 1: going to a Show's a friend of mine in a show.
- 7:11Speaker 1: She's in a musical. Oh, and so this is why
- 7:15Speaker 1: we are heading down no and so this is why
- 7:17Speaker 1: we're heading down the homeways because she's in a show.
- 7:23Speaker 1: And we've always wanted to watch her in a show
- 7:24Speaker 1: because I know that she's a very, very talented performer.
- 7:26Speaker 2: She's got a great voice, and it's musical, got a
- 7:29Speaker 2: bad feeling.
- 7:30Speaker 1: And we caught up with her the other night. We're like, hey,
- 7:33Speaker 1: bought tickets to your show, and she's just like, oh god,
- 7:36Speaker 1: the whole thing's been an absolute debarcle. The director is this,
- 7:39Speaker 1: this person's sick. This person he has been put in
- 7:42Speaker 1: she's intentionally not letting this person do that. And she's like,
- 7:44Speaker 1: the whole thing has been the worst show experience of
- 7:47Speaker 1: my life.
- 7:48Speaker 2: So she's put shifting blame onto those around her.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Now because she's always wanted us to come see a show,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and like she did Cats and a few other ones,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and then.
- 7:56Speaker 3: She's freaking out that you're actually coming to see it.
- 7:59Speaker 1: She was a freak. She's literally like, so now you
- 8:01Speaker 1: know who look out for look out for this girl,
- 8:03Speaker 1: look out for this girl. When the director comes out,
- 8:05Speaker 1: you boo her right. Sounds like she's a nuts.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Sounds like your classic sort of production. Really yeah, God,
- 8:10Speaker 3: it's always terrible, always fucking drama.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And you're not getting paid for it. She's driving an
- 8:16Speaker 1: hour to get to it every however, many days for rehearsal.
- 8:19Speaker 1: It sounds like an absolute shambles. But she'll be good
- 8:22Speaker 1: at it. Yeah, it's good, but you're more excited to
- 8:25Speaker 1: see it.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Did your wife forgive you when you got home for
- 8:28Speaker 3: dissing the meal? Her meal? Her box?
- 8:33Speaker 1: She said, what's wrong with burrito bowls? And I just
- 8:37Speaker 1: said that fine. I just rather in a wrap and
- 8:39Speaker 1: then I opened the wraps and I had that, and
- 8:41Speaker 1: then good news, fellas, there was left over mints. So
- 8:43Speaker 1: we're having it again tonight.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Good But he goes by like half a kilo.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Half a kilo of mints. I tell your fellows, and
- 8:51Speaker 1: you pour like a tinned corn into it, and and
- 8:55Speaker 1: then you mix in likes and some stock, and you'll
- 9:00Speaker 1: see if that ship up.
- 9:01Speaker 2: When we come over to your joint keys, there'll be fuman.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I'm going to turn corn corn.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Can I anything anything?
- 9:09Speaker 2: Pretty much?
- 9:10Speaker 3: Any vegetable? Good?
- 9:13Speaker 1: You guys are a fussy. It's not fuss. It seems
- 9:16Speaker 1: like I.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Don't mind a kidney bean. It's tenned.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Well, that's right. I mean I've never I don't think
- 9:21Speaker 2: I've had a kidney bean any other way. No, could
- 9:24Speaker 2: I say that?
- 9:24Speaker 3: You can buy them dry, of course, and then moisturize them.
- 9:28Speaker 1: You're moisten them, Yes, moisten those beans.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Another fascinating thing today happened. It's not really that fascinating,
- 9:39Speaker 3: but it's fascinating to me in the city. Right outside
- 9:42Speaker 3: my apartment now I live next to a very Actually,
- 9:48Speaker 3: maybe i'll save this with the shot the show. Yeah, okay,
- 9:51Speaker 3: I'll make.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Out a dry man and your beans wet.
- 9:54Speaker 1: See that to my daughter today, that very free You
- 9:56Speaker 1: said keep your beans wet.
- 9:57Speaker 3: No, I said keep your powder dry. Right, good bit
- 10:01Speaker 3: of fatherly advice there.
- 10:03Speaker 1: What was she about to talk about? Something on your podcast?
- 10:06Speaker 2: Far off canon?
- 10:07Speaker 3: She's human. I'll just say that, man, who I'm not
- 10:10Speaker 3: going to say any more than that.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Is it a radio content?
- 10:13Speaker 2: No sounds like radio content.
- 10:14Speaker 3: No, No for out No, No, well, maybe she's feman.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Something I've said.
- 10:21Speaker 3: No, it's nothing you've said it is It is not
- 10:24Speaker 3: our show. Related at all?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Could it be though, if we offer this in Toledos.
- 10:31Speaker 3: No, I don't know that this daughter's ever listened to
- 10:35Speaker 3: my show.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Oh wow, of course she is.
- 10:38Speaker 1: She loves it. No, this daughter is it your youngest.
- 10:41Speaker 3: No, I'm not going to even specify what daughter it is.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Oh wow, the one eight chance here. Listen to The
- 10:48Speaker 1: Big Show for fifteen four to seven every weekday. And
- 10:52Speaker 1: if you want to hear Jason's amazing what Happened outside
- 10:55Speaker 1: his house thing, listen to the Best of podcast.
- 10:57Speaker 3: It's more of a podcast chat, which I'll do in
- 11:00Speaker 3: another podcast.
- 11:01Speaker 1: You did a shock, the one you just tease for
- 11:03Speaker 1: the radio shot?
- 11:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, but I realized that it's going to
- 11:06Speaker 3: be quite long, and it's actually not that interesting, right
- 11:08Speaker 2: It's perfect for the podcast, just the usual one.
