- 0:03Speaker 1: Hey, let's talk Diamondbacks. Do they still have a chance
- 0:05Speaker 1: to take this last wild card seat? Steve Berthiaume joining
- 0:08Speaker 1: us right now. You can hear him for years on
- 0:11Speaker 1: D-backs TV. Steve, great to have you on. I love
- 0:13Speaker 1: listening to you. I'm an insomniac type, so I'm on
- 0:16Speaker 1: the East Coast. I do a lot of Diamondbacks listening
- 0:19Speaker 1: and I've enjoyed it for years. So great to have
- 0:21Speaker 1: you on. How's the season going? It's been interesting, right?
- 0:25Speaker 2: Thanks, Scott.
- 0:25Speaker 3: I appreciate it. Good to be with you guys. It
- 0:28Speaker 3: has been a roller coaster, to say the least. But
- 0:30Speaker 3: here we are with 11 games to go, two and
- 0:32Speaker 3: a half back, and hoping the Padres would lose for
- 0:35Speaker 3: a change so we could pick up some ground. But
- 0:37Speaker 3: every game has been a fight, and.
- 0:39Speaker 2: We're right there.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Are the guys watching? I mean, we always talk about
- 0:42Speaker 1: the scoreboard watching, but it's like, oh, the Padres almost
- 0:45Speaker 1: allowed the Rockies to come back and beat them yesterday,
- 0:48Speaker 1: but did not. And an 8-7 win for them means
- 0:51Speaker 1: that the Diamondbacks can do all they want. They don't
- 0:53Speaker 1: control their own destiny.
- 0:55Speaker 3: It's funny because I'll be looking toward the field doing
- 0:58Speaker 3: the game last night. Behind me, there's a big monitor
- 1:00Speaker 3: with the Padre-Rocky game on, and I spend the whole
- 1:02Speaker 3: game going like this, watching every pitch from Coors Field
- 1:06Speaker 3: and then doing our game. So, yeah, we're all scoreboard watching,
- 1:10Speaker 3: hoping that the Padres can trip up at least once
- 1:13Speaker 3: or twice over the course of the year before we
- 1:15Speaker 3: finish with those final three games at Petco Park on
- 1:18Speaker 3: that last weekend.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Steve, did you guys send down something to the Marlins
- 1:23Speaker 4: yesterday for that eighth and ninth inning? that they had
- 1:26Speaker 4: to let you guys win that game last night because.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Sandy pitched pretty well.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Corbin was okay, right? And then all of a sudden, whammy,
- 1:32Speaker 4: four runs in the eighth and ninth, and you guys
- 1:34Speaker 4: win the game.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Yeah, AJ, we've kind of played like that all year long.
- 1:40Speaker 3: It used to be we had a little more thump
- 1:42Speaker 3: in the lineup the last several years, one of the
- 1:44Speaker 3: best run-scoring teams in the majors with guys like Gino
- 1:47Speaker 3: Suarez and Christian Walker and Josh Naylor for a while.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And it's a different team now. So they don't quite
- 1:53Speaker 3: have the thump that they've had in recent seasons, but
- 1:56Speaker 3: they have found a way to come back in big moments.
- 1:59Speaker 3: They lead the major leagues in comeback wins. We used
- 2:02Speaker 3: to call them the answer backs here because the team
- 2:05Speaker 3: would score, the opponent would score, and they'd score again
- 2:07Speaker 3: right away in the next half inning. This year it's
- 2:09Speaker 3: been a little bit more of an uphill fight. Now
- 2:11Speaker 3: we call them the battle backs, and that's what they
- 2:13Speaker 3: did last night. Now the Marlins lost Fairbanks in that
- 2:16Speaker 3: ninth inning with an apparent injury. I hope he's okay.
- 2:19Speaker 3: But then they had to go to their bullpen in
- 2:21Speaker 3: the ninth inning in a tough spot, and that's when
- 2:23Speaker 3: Corbin Carroll came up and hit that home run. So
- 2:25Speaker 3: it's been a little more of an uphill fight for
- 2:27Speaker 3: this year's club. They don't quite have the thump. It's
- 2:30Speaker 3: a much younger team with players like Jordan Lawler and
- 2:32Speaker 3: Tommy Troy and Ryan Walschmidt. And Quetel Marte's been up
- 2:36Speaker 3: and down. Corbin Carroll's been battling some back problems all
- 2:39Speaker 3: year long. And so they don't quite have the thump
- 2:42Speaker 3: they did last year, but they have consistently found a
- 2:44Speaker 3: way to hang in there, and they're right there with
- 2:46Speaker 3: 11 games to go.
- 2:48Speaker 5: I think you called them the comebackians last night if
- 2:51Speaker 5: I was watching the game.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I think that's the exact word you used.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I said they are the comebacking-est team in the major
- 2:58Speaker 3: leagues as we invent words along the way. They lead
- 3:01Speaker 3: the major leagues in the comeback wins. It's been that
- 3:03Speaker 3: kind of year. It's been fun. We've had some dramatic finishes.
- 3:06Speaker 3: I think last night was our ninth walk-off win, which
- 3:08Speaker 3: is nuts. But that's the kind of year it's been.
- 3:10Speaker 3: They have had to do it with three-in-one oil and
- 3:13Speaker 3: gauze pads and duct tape at times. But they've pieced
- 3:16Speaker 3: together an 80-win season, and they're still kicking here with
- 3:19Speaker 3: 11 games to go.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Why can they come back so much?
- 3:22Speaker 5: Is there an underlying thing that you see night in
- 3:25Speaker 5: and night out? And you can't tell me grit. This
- 3:28Speaker 5: team wants it so bad. You can't tell me any
- 3:31Speaker 5: of those things because physically there has to be something.
- 3:34Speaker 5: In my opinion, I usually see one-run games. It's a
- 3:37Speaker 5: strong bullpen that keeps you in games. And has that
- 3:40Speaker 5: been the case for the Diamondbacks?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah, you beat me to it. They've had one of
- 3:44Speaker 3: the best bullpens in the major leagues. They've put together
- 3:47Speaker 3: an outstanding group. And keep in mind, this is a
- 3:49Speaker 3: bullpen that DFA'd its closer halfway through the year, Paul Seewald,
- 3:53Speaker 3: when he ran into some issues. But over the course
- 3:55Speaker 3: of the year, with guys like Taylor Clark and Juan
- 3:58Speaker 3: Murillo and Jonathan Loizaga and Kevin Ginkle, and suddenly Brandon
- 4:02Speaker 3: Garcia has turned into the nastiest left-hander in the National League,
- 4:06Speaker 3: they've put together a shut-down bullpen that has done an
- 4:09Speaker 3: excellent job. And that's reflected in their record in one-run games.
- 4:12Speaker 3: They've been great in one-run games. That bullpen has given
- 4:15Speaker 3: the team the chance to come back and become the
- 4:17Speaker 3: come-backing-est team of the major leagues. And they lead the
- 4:20Speaker 3: major leagues in come-back wins. The bullpen has been by
- 4:23Speaker 3: far the most consistent part of the team all year long.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Steve, how much credit does Torrey Lovello get for the bullpen?
- 4:29Speaker 4: I mean, listen, all the stuff the Diamondbacks have been through,
- 4:33Speaker 4: whether it's the Corbin Carroll hand-made at the beginning of
- 4:35Speaker 4: the year. You mentioned Zach Gallin, some other guys not
- 4:37Speaker 4: pitching up to stuff, having to go on the I.L., right?
- 4:40Speaker 4: Merrill Kelly tipping. Cattell Marte and all the stuff that
- 4:44Speaker 4: comes with him, right? DFAing their closer. Trying to figure
- 4:49Speaker 4: out who's pitching where. How much credit? And I don't
- 4:52Speaker 4: think Torrey Lovello gets enough credit for the way he's
- 4:54Speaker 4: handled everything.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Does he deserve? Maybe the question is, does he deserve
- 4:57Speaker 2: more credit?
- 5:00Speaker 3: I agree, AJ. I think he does. I mean, at
- 5:02Speaker 3: one point, their entire starting rotation was on the injured list.
- 5:05Speaker 3: All five guys, gone. So figure that out. that's not
- 5:09Speaker 3: easy for any manager to get along. I mean, no
- 5:10Speaker 3: Corbin Burns. He's missed, well, he's made two starts all year.
- 5:14Speaker 3: He missed the first five months. Gallin was out two months.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Brandon Falk spent June in the minor leagues. They haven't
- 5:20Speaker 3: had Michael Soroka healthy at times this year. They've figured
- 5:23Speaker 3: out some things along the way. Eduardo Rodriguez has been great,
- 5:25Speaker 3: but that rotation has been gutted for most of the year,
- 5:28Speaker 3: and they've figured some things out. Now, they don't have
- 5:30Speaker 3: a closer, as I mentioned. A lot of managers don't
- 5:33Speaker 3: like to work without a closer. Torrey has not anointed
- 5:36Speaker 3: anyone the closer. But he's had to deal with all
- 5:38Speaker 3: those things that you mentioned. And part of that is
- 5:40Speaker 3: Cattell Marte and managing Cattell Marte, who's a very sensitive,
- 5:44Speaker 3: emotional guy and a tremendous talent. And a lot goes
- 5:48Speaker 3: on behind the scenes that folks don't see. And Torrey
- 5:50Speaker 3: has been able to hold this group together through some
- 5:53Speaker 3: difficult circumstances at times. And here they are knocking on
- 5:56Speaker 3: the door of a postseason spot with 11 games to go.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Hey, today's episode is presented by the ASPCA Pet Health

- 6:58Speaker 1: not an insurer and is not engaged in the business
- 7:00Speaker 1: of insurance.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Designating Lourdes Goriel for assignment. Do you feel like that
- 7:07Speaker 5: was something that should have been done ahead of time?
- 7:10Speaker 5: Was it something, because they picked up Jesus Sanchez, an
- 7:13Speaker 5: average big league player, to basically take his spot, but
- 7:18Speaker 5: was this something that they were hanging on for dear life,
- 7:21Speaker 5: and then Jesus came up, or was it something that
- 7:25Speaker 5: kind of came out of the blue since he just
- 7:27Speaker 5: came back from the I.L.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yeah, those things are different, kind of line up in
- 7:32Speaker 3: different categories. With Lourdes, who has been a tremendous part
- 7:35Speaker 3: of the club now for three-plus years, blew out his
- 7:38Speaker 3: knee last September. I mean, just blew it up, tore
- 7:42Speaker 3: everything in there, and fought real hard to come back,
- 7:44Speaker 3: and then was injured twice again over the course of
- 7:46Speaker 3: the year. His lower half just was not right, and
- 7:50Speaker 3: they had some other right-hand bats they wanted to give
- 7:52Speaker 3: to some of the young guys I mentioned before, like
- 7:54Speaker 3: Ryan Walshman, who's had a terrific rookie year. and Jordan Lawler,
- 7:58Speaker 3: who's healthy now, and Tommy Troy, who's going to be
- 8:00Speaker 3: a big part of the future moving forward. They wanted
- 8:02Speaker 3: those right-handed bats to go to those young guys, and
- 8:05Speaker 3: they just didn't have time for Lourdes to get his
- 8:07Speaker 3: lower half in line. You're down to, what, 11 games
- 8:10Speaker 3: to go. There's just not enough time for him to
- 8:12Speaker 3: get fully healthy and hit like they know he can.
- 8:15Speaker 3: And so those right-handed bats needed to go to some
- 8:17Speaker 3: of the younger guys. Now, they've struggled all year long
- 8:20Speaker 3: against right-hand pitching. That's been a big problem. So they
- 8:23Speaker 3: brought Pavin Smith back from Reno the other day. Pavin
- 8:25Speaker 3: had an RBI hit against Texas over the weekend. He
- 8:28Speaker 3: was in the starting lineup last night. And now they
- 8:30Speaker 3: add Sanchez to the list because they're looking for some
- 8:33Speaker 3: left-hand bats to counter the right-hand pitching, which has been
- 8:36Speaker 3: an issue this year. They've killed lefties this season. It's
- 8:38Speaker 3: against the right-handers where they've needed some help. And that's
- 8:41Speaker 3: where they think that Pavin Smith can chime in there
- 8:44Speaker 3: as well as Sanchez. So those two things are not
- 8:47Speaker 3: necessarily related. But they have young guys that are all
- 8:50Speaker 3: right-hand hitters they like, so their internal options have been right-handed.
- 8:54Speaker 3: They had to go outside of the organization for left-hand options.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Lars Neupahr has been a terrific pickup, got him from St.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Louis to the trade deadline. And now they hope Sanchez
- 9:02Speaker 3: can help out over the final 11 games.
- 9:03Speaker 5: All right, watching your game last night, listening to you
- 9:07Speaker 5: talk about Gabriel Moreno's first at-bat, I think, against Alcantara,
- 9:12Speaker 5: where you said, well, they're leaving– They're leaving Gabby's hole open.
- 9:17Speaker 2: There's a chance he ends up striking out. He throws.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Do you feel like, when I heard you say that,
- 9:22Speaker 5: do you feel like you watch him every day that
- 9:24Speaker 5: he's not seen or he's underrated by the league for
- 9:29Speaker 5: what he can do and his ability to adjust his
- 9:31Speaker 5: swing to drive runs in for a team that needs
- 9:34Speaker 5: runs because they don't bump?
- 9:36Speaker 3: Way, way underrated. Maybe one of the most underrated players
- 9:40Speaker 3: in the major leagues. We call it Gabby Lane because
- 9:43Speaker 3: he just has this knack for hitting the ball between
- 9:46Speaker 3: first and second base in a big spot. He'll hit
- 9:48Speaker 3: the ground ball to the right side. He'll hit it
- 9:51Speaker 3: to the right center gap. And then the next at bat,
- 9:54Speaker 3: he'll pull a home run down the left field line.
- 9:55Speaker 3: He is a true line-to-line, pole-to-pole hitter at the catching position.
- 10:00Speaker 3: He's in the top 10 of the major leagues in
- 10:02Speaker 3: batting average. He's got 41 RBIs in 51 games since
- 10:05Speaker 3: the All-Star break. And he's done a phenomenal job behind
- 10:08Speaker 3: the plate. He's a former Gold Glove winner at catcher.
- 10:10Speaker 3: And he's batting third and fourth in the lineup every night.
- 10:12Speaker 3: So I don't think people notice. I mean, it takes
- 10:15Speaker 3: a lot to watch the Diamondbacks. As Scott mentioned, we're
- 10:18Speaker 3: on late in the East Coast. So folks don't necessarily
- 10:21Speaker 3: see what Gabrielle Moreno can do every day. He has
- 10:23Speaker 3: been phenomenal. He's been their best offensive player since opening day.
- 10:26Speaker 4: All right, Steve, I have, I have two questions for you.
- 10:29Speaker 4: And the answer to the first question is going to
- 10:32Speaker 4: change how I phrase the second question. So Bob Brennan,
- 10:36Speaker 4: your partner, your longtime partner, who I love to death.
- 10:38Speaker 4: He's you guys are one of the best.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Once told me a long time ago, I was at a,
- 10:43Speaker 4: I was at a football game.
- 10:44Speaker 2: He was an Ohio state fan.
- 10:45Speaker 4: I'm a Gator fan, Florida kicked their tail in.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:48Speaker 4: We, We ran into each other in the restroom, okay? Normally,
- 10:51Speaker 4: you know, guys, no eye contact. We had a full
- 10:53Speaker 4: conversation next to each other in the restroom. I said,
- 10:56Speaker 4: you know, Bob had just gotten done being the manager.
- 10:58Speaker 4: He had gone back to doing the analyst stuff for
- 11:01Speaker 4: the Diamondbacks. I said, Bob, do you miss managing or
- 11:05Speaker 4: do you like doing the analyst stuff better? And he says,
- 11:07Speaker 4: you know, managing was great. I won the World Series.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I did all that.
- 11:10Speaker 4: He's like, but man, nothing beats doing my game. Doesn't
- 11:14Speaker 4: matter who wins or loses. three hours in and out.
- 11:18Speaker 4: I go home.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I'm happy. You know, people aren't, I'm not mad. I'm
- 11:21Speaker 2: not mad. I get to go home and I'm, it's
- 11:23Speaker 2: the same, right? So were you guys fans of the Diamondbacks?
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yes or no? Or is it just a job?
- 11:30Speaker 3: Oh, no, we're definitely fans. And Bob, I can tell
- 11:33Speaker 3: you in commercial breaks and after games, it does still
- 11:36Speaker 3: get mad because it means nearly as much to him
- 11:39Speaker 3: now as it did when he was managing the club.
- 11:40Speaker 3: I mean, we take the perspective from a, from a
- 11:43Speaker 3: regional broadcast standpoint that, um, you know, we're all in
- 11:47Speaker 3: this together. Everyone, Bob and I and the fans watching
- 11:50Speaker 3: us on D-backs TV all want the same thing. We
- 11:53Speaker 3: want the Diamondbacks to win. So it's a collective experience
- 11:56Speaker 3: and that's what we try to make it. And I
- 11:58Speaker 3: want the fans at home who watch our games to
- 12:00Speaker 3: feel like we're all in this together and the ups
- 12:03Speaker 3: and the downs and the whole journey 162. It's a
- 12:06Speaker 3: fun ride. Come aboard with us and we'll have some
- 12:08Speaker 3: fun here. So that's pretty much the approach we take. Now,
- 12:11Speaker 3: Bob is still an enormous baseball fan. He watches all
- 12:14Speaker 3: the games. I'll come in And he said, hey, did
- 12:17Speaker 3: you see the Cub game yesterday? Or did you see
- 12:18Speaker 3: the way that blah-blah game finished last night? Or wow,
- 12:21Speaker 3: this guy's really, like he's paying attention to everything, as
- 12:24Speaker 3: he always does. And he notices things that are unbelievable. Like, hey,
- 12:29Speaker 3: I think the catcher is using a different glove. Or
- 12:32Speaker 3: I think the third baseman changed his cleats. Or this
- 12:35Speaker 3: guy's playing further over the middle than he was before.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Like he has that eye that, and I look over
- 12:40Speaker 3: at him and I go, how the heck did you
- 12:41Speaker 3: notice that? I mean, he still has that sharp eye.
- 12:43Speaker 3: He still loves the game. And so the long answer
- 12:46Speaker 3: to your short question is, yeah, we are big fans
- 12:49Speaker 3: and we are right there with the fans who watch
- 12:51Speaker 3: with us. And that's the way we want it to be.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Okay, good for you guys. Good for you guys.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Because I use that line all the time. People are like, oh,
- 12:58Speaker 4: do you miss playing? And I'm like, no, because I
- 13:01Speaker 4: do national games, right? So I don't have a rooting
- 13:04Speaker 4: interest in either game. And I think that's what Bob
- 13:06Speaker 4: was more talking about because at the time he was
- 13:07Speaker 4: doing some Fox games, right? I got to a game
- 13:10Speaker 4: and I'm just like, I want to under two and
- 13:11Speaker 4: a half hour game, no rain delays and something to
- 13:14Speaker 4: talk about. Other than that, I really don't care who
- 13:16Speaker 4: wins no matter what people say. So then that leads
- 13:18Speaker 4: me to my next question.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I think you're right. I mean, when you're
- 13:22Speaker 3: helicoptering in and doing a game and then helicoptering out,
- 13:25Speaker 3: that's a very different experience than doing 120, 140 games
- 13:28Speaker 3: a year. So that's that to me is a night
- 13:30Speaker 3: and day different thing.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 13:32Speaker 6: Agreed.
- 13:32Speaker 4: OK, so my last question is, it's real simple. Do
- 13:35Speaker 4: the Diamondbacks get into the postseason, and can they make
- 13:38Speaker 4: it to where the last three games against the Padres
- 13:40Speaker 4: matter to get them in?
- 13:42Speaker 3: They can definitely get to the last three games. They
- 13:44Speaker 3: need the Padres to lose. I mean, San Diego's won, what,
- 13:47Speaker 3: eight in a row? Yeah, you don't want to have
- 13:50Speaker 3: to go into San Diego needing a sweep to survive.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Whoever wins that series wins the tiebreaker, which is another
- 13:56Speaker 3: thing to think about. So they can definitely get to
- 13:59Speaker 3: those final three games with a chance to get in.
- 14:01Speaker 3: This is kind of how 2023 went. You know, nobody
- 14:03Speaker 3: really paid much attention to the Diamondbacks. And then, boom,
- 14:06Speaker 3: suddenly there they are, beating Milwaukee, beating Philadelphia, getting into
- 14:09Speaker 3: the World Series, and off we go. That can happen
- 14:11Speaker 3: again with this bullpen. Because I think most of you
- 14:14Speaker 3: guys would agree, you win in the postseason with a bullpen, right?
- 14:17Speaker 3: For the most part. And this is a very, very
- 14:19Speaker 3: good bullpen. They can absolutely do it.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Perfect. Perfect, Steve. Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Again, I use that line all the time. I use
- 14:28Speaker 4: Bob's line all the time. They're like, where'd you learn
- 14:30Speaker 4: that line? I'm like, Bob Brindley in a urinal next
- 14:32Speaker 4: to me in Phoenix one time watching Ohio State lose
- 14:35Speaker 4: to Florida.
- 14:36Speaker 2: It was great. It was great.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Well, AJ, you certainly paint a lovely picture.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Yes, thank you. Eyes up, AJ. Eyes up. Just stare forward.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Eyes up.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yeah, whenever I think AJ, I think paints a lovely picture.
- 14:50Speaker 1: That's one of the first things that I think of
- 14:52Speaker 1: when I think AJ.
- 14:53Speaker 3: That's what the graphic says on the lower third of
- 14:55Speaker 3: the screen. AJ Pruszynski paints a lovely picture.
- 14:59Speaker 4: By the way, I have to give thumbs up to
- 15:01Speaker 4: the Diamondbacks. I hadn't done a game there until this year.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Thumbs up to the Diamondbacks. The booth is nice. The
- 15:06Speaker 4: food was not bad either. The food was pretty good
- 15:09Speaker 4: in the little room they have for the press dining.
- 15:10Speaker 4: It was thumbs up.
- 15:11Speaker 6: A lot.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I will tell Peggy Fritz who runs that room that
- 15:15Speaker 3: you said that and she'll be thrilled. Thank you.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Yes. Yes. Spacious there. I loved when I called a
- 15:19Speaker 1: couple of games there for YouTube.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Yeah. You know what's great about our booth is two things.
- 15:23Speaker 3: It's huge. There's tons of room and it's low. A
- 15:26Speaker 3: lot of the new ballparks you're, you're on the ceiling,
- 15:28Speaker 3: you know, like Atlanta and Washington, Pittsburgh, our booth, our
- 15:32Speaker 3: ballpark has a low booth, which is great. It's a
- 15:33Speaker 3: lot easier to judge fly balls.
- 15:35Speaker 2: A lot of water in your fridge.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yeah. That's an inside joke thing.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Not anymore.
- 15:43Speaker 3: It's still 110 degrees outside, so yeah.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Not after we got done there.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Not after we got done there.
- 15:48Speaker 2: We took all them waters.
- 15:50Speaker 1: AJ's known as a water stealer.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I steal all the waters.
- 15:53Speaker 1: The Angels called him out for taking too many of
- 15:55Speaker 1: their waters.
- 15:55Speaker 3: And then you get all those on the plane? You
- 15:58Speaker 3: just take them right on the plane?
- 15:59Speaker 4: Well, no, you have to drink them all so you're
- 16:01Speaker 4: well hydrated because you can't get them through security.
- 16:04Speaker 3: And that's how you end up with all these riveting
- 16:06Speaker 3: conversations in the urinal at the bathroom, right? Because you've
- 16:10Speaker 3: had all the full circles.
- 16:11Speaker 2: All ties together. That's right. That's right.
- 16:15Speaker 1: That's a good rap. That's a good rap. Steve, thank
- 16:17Speaker 1: you so much. Really appreciate it.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Love listening.
- 16:20Speaker 3: I thank guys.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Thanks for that.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I appreciate your having me. Good to talk to you.
- 16:25Speaker 6: Back in the day, Kratzy and I were looking for tickets.
- 16:27Speaker 6: It was so hard to find a seat or anything available.
- 16:31Speaker 6: You'd have to go online and there was nothing there.
- 16:32Speaker 6: But now, With SeatGeek, they make it so much easier
- 16:36Speaker 6: for you. They have the green light special. What does
- 16:38Speaker 6: that mean? It means when the green light is on,
- 16:40Speaker 6: you can get some of the best seats available. Go
- 16:43Speaker 6: to SeatGeek. Kratzy understands how easy it is.
- 16:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I know you used to scalp your tickets, but look,
- 16:48Speaker 5: it's way, way better now because you get to just
- 16:50Speaker 5: go right on SeatGeek and find your postseason tickets.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I'm not even going to fast forward to the postseason.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I'm going to say.
- 16:57Speaker 5: The run to October, because some teams aren't in yet,
- 17:00Speaker 5: so right now is the time to get it, and
- 17:02Speaker 5: those seats are available.
- 17:03Speaker 6: And it's playoff time, the best time for baseball. And
- 17:06Speaker 6: of course, I have a code for you all. You
- 17:08Speaker 6: can use code TERRITORY10 for 10% off your next set
- 17:11Speaker 6: of MLB tickets at SeatGeek. That's 10% off MLB tickets
- 17:15Speaker 6: with promo code TERRITORY10. Make sure you click the link
- 17:19Speaker 6: in the description to download the app and have the
- 17:21Speaker 6: code automatically added to your account so you can use
- 17:24Speaker 6: it later.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Riverfront territory is our red show. Part of the FT network.
- 17:28Speaker 1: See Trent Rose grants, one of the hosts and also
- 17:30Speaker 1: of course, covering the team for the athletic for years.
- 17:33Speaker 1: See Trent, good to see you. And the theme for
- 17:35Speaker 1: the 2027 reds appears to be run it back. Is
- 17:39Speaker 1: that the right theme? The unofficial theme?
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I think there's just so much uncertainty with
- 17:47Speaker 2: how baseball is going to be in 2027, that there
- 17:50Speaker 2: are going to be so many changes, um, This front
- 17:56Speaker 2: office did not have a good offseason. You look at
- 17:59Speaker 2: some of the moves they've made, even when they were
- 18:01Speaker 2: praised so heavily in 2022 for that teardown, some of
- 18:06Speaker 2: those guys haven't worked out. It's funny, when you think
- 18:10Speaker 2: about all the trades, Tyler Malley, who you guys were
- 18:12Speaker 2: just talking about, Luis Castillo, who else was there? There
- 18:18Speaker 2: were several others, but the biggest acquisition could end up
- 18:21Speaker 2: being When they traded Tyler Naquin to the Mets for
- 18:24Speaker 2: two low-A guys, and that was Hector Rodriguez, that was
- 18:28Speaker 2: one of them. So, you know, a lot of things
- 18:30Speaker 2: have to go right, and not a lot of things have.
- 18:35Speaker 4: But they made the postseason last year. But they made
- 18:38Speaker 4: the playoffs last year. C. Trent, Trent, Rosecrans, what are
- 18:41Speaker 4: we supposed to call you?
- 18:42Speaker 2: I don't know. C.T.? C.R.? C.T.R.? C.M.T.? What are we
- 18:47Speaker 2: calling you? You can call me anything, H.A.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Can I call you asshole for like in Georgia? Am
- 18:53Speaker 4: I allowed to call you that?
- 18:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Perfect.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Uh, but I went to school. It's a good place
- 18:59Speaker 2: to spend nine years. Yeah, exactly.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Uh, that's that, that was just for your, uh, two
- 19:03Speaker 4: year degree. Um, what, uh, what, what needs to go right?
- 19:07Speaker 4: You mentioned everything has to go right.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Like they were supposed to have this killer rotation, right. With, with,
- 19:13Speaker 4: Hunter Green and Lodolo and Abbott and Burns. And then
- 19:16Speaker 4: they were supposed to have this killer lineup with Ellie
- 19:19Speaker 4: and Sal Stewart and Stevenson and all these guys. So
- 19:24Speaker 4: what needs to go right? Because it seems like everything
- 19:27Speaker 4: went wrong. So does everything need to go right for
- 19:29Speaker 4: them to make the postseason?
- 19:31Speaker 2: I think that's the kind of razor's edge that they've
- 19:34Speaker 2: been on. And that goes with depth. That goes with development.
- 19:38Speaker 2: That goes with so many things. So, yeah, it's crazy
- 19:43Speaker 2: because you're seeing Ellie is having his best year. Sal
- 19:46Speaker 2: Stewart should win rookie of the year. Chase Burns is...
- 19:50Speaker 2: been fantastic. So you would think that's a core. But
- 19:54Speaker 2: you look around, and for most of the season, the
- 19:57Speaker 2: only two guys hitting were Sal and Ellie. And, you know,
- 20:01Speaker 2: two-man lineup. is not productive. This team hasn't gotten on base.
- 20:07Speaker 2: They haven't hit. Most of their runs come off home runs.
- 20:12Speaker 2: They've been very home run dependent, which is at least
- 20:15Speaker 2: they've hit more home runs than they did last year,
- 20:17Speaker 2: but runs are more important than home runs. Hunter Green
- 20:21Speaker 2: was never quite right. Starts a season on the IL,
- 20:26Speaker 2: makes a couple starts, and then it's gone for the
- 20:29Speaker 2: foreseeable future with Tommy John, his second one. You also
- 20:33Speaker 2: have Nicola Dolo, who basically has to change the pitch,
- 20:40Speaker 2: which is the reason he's a big leaguer. And, you know,
- 20:43Speaker 2: Chase Burns has been great. Andrew Abbott's been up and down.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Brady Singer is taking the ball every five days, which
- 20:49Speaker 2: is what they got him to do. But, you know,
- 20:53Speaker 2: when the bullpen, when Emilio Pagan was down, you saw
- 20:57Speaker 2: a lot of problems getting to that back of the bullpen.
- 21:01Speaker 2: And their record with Emilio Pagan has been better. But
- 21:06Speaker 2: when you're saying, okay, the lineup's not great, the rotation
- 21:09Speaker 2: has questions, and the bullpen is struggling, what you got?
- 21:16Speaker 2: You got Sal Stewart. You got Sal Stewart. And your
- 21:19Speaker 2: defense is bad. Your defense is bad, too. Forgot about
- 21:22Speaker 2: that one. Okay. But you have Sal Stewart. You have
- 21:25Speaker 2: the rookie of the year.
- 21:26Speaker 5: And I'm not trying to spin a negative– A negative
- 21:30Speaker 5: scene for a team. But how will the Reds build
- 21:35Speaker 5: around the two players that you said? I mean, Ellie,
- 21:39Speaker 5: clearly he avoided the extension. Sal is going to be
- 21:43Speaker 5: rookie of the year. How do they build around that
- 21:47Speaker 5: without change at leadership? And I'm not talking about Tito.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I'm talking about Nick. Well, I mean, I think it
- 21:55Speaker 2: goes higher than that. It's ownership. And it has been ownership.
- 21:59Speaker 2: You look at the trends in this franchise, its ownership
- 22:04Speaker 2: since 2007 was the first year of the Castellanis. They've
- 22:11Speaker 2: not quite been able to go over the hump or
- 22:13Speaker 2: make the big shocking moves or do anything. Everything has
- 22:18Speaker 2: been on the margins and on the cheap. And if
- 22:20Speaker 2: you do everything on the margins and on the cheap,
- 22:23Speaker 2: you get what you pay for. That's fair. That's fair,
- 22:29Speaker 2: you get what you pay for. I mean, but they have.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Evaluate this.
- 22:35Speaker 5: Evaluate the moves that they have made and say, in
- 22:40Speaker 5: the moment, those were good moves, but they didn't work
- 22:44Speaker 5: out because they were on the cheap or because Eugenio
- 22:49Speaker 5: Suarez didn't have the 50 home runs you intended.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Like, those types of moves. Yeah, I think the Gino one,
- 22:56Speaker 2: it basically... the question when you get to free agents
- 23:00Speaker 2: is who else was out there? I know they, they
- 23:03Speaker 2: went after Kyle Schwarber and, and Schwarber entertained them, but
- 23:06Speaker 2: I don't think any of us believe Schwarber was going anywhere,
- 23:08Speaker 2: but the Philly, um, you know, when you look at
- 23:11Speaker 2: the free agent outfielders, you know, they, they actually did
- 23:15Speaker 2: pretty well with JJ Bladet. Um, but it's just, it's, it's,
- 23:19Speaker 2: they haven't developed well enough to put players around the Ellie.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Matt McClain is falling off a cliff. You know, Spencer
- 23:28Speaker 2: Steer hurt. You don't, like, name an outfielder. Like, they
- 23:33Speaker 2: just don't have a guy in the outfield. TJ Friedel
- 23:38Speaker 2: just has collapsed. And you don't have a leadoff guy.
- 23:42Speaker 2: You don't have an outfield. You have maybe the worst
- 23:47Speaker 2: hitter in baseball at third base. It's, you know, there
- 23:52Speaker 2: are a lot of things that are just... I mean,
- 23:58Speaker 2: it's not conducive to a winning team in 2027 or 2028.
- 24:00Speaker 4: See, Trent, you mentioned earlier that you kept mentioning the cheap,
- 24:07Speaker 4: the cheap, the cheap. Nick Kroll is a guy who
- 24:10Speaker 4: there's been speculation. I don't think he's going anywhere. I
- 24:12Speaker 4: think he's done a pretty decent job for what he's
- 24:14Speaker 4: been handed with. Should he be under fire? And then
- 24:17Speaker 4: the other question is, here's a guy, Tito, is right
- 24:19Speaker 4: there with him. Tito's going to the Hall of Fame.
- 24:21Speaker 4: He's one of the best managers of all time. Tito's
- 24:24Speaker 4: not getting any heat from this, is he? Because he's
- 24:25Speaker 4: done everything.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I feel like... humanly possible to keep his team somewhat afloat. Right.
- 24:31Speaker 2: And I think, I mean, honestly, you could say that
- 24:33Speaker 2: about pretty much both guys. I mean, the front office
- 24:38Speaker 2: didn't do anything at the trade deadline or barely anything.
- 24:42Speaker 2: You would think they could have gotten, we talked about
- 24:44Speaker 2: Tyler Stevenson. We talked about Brady Singer. Those are guys
- 24:47Speaker 2: that we were like, okay, they're surely going to be traded.
- 24:50Speaker 2: And they were not. That is not how you build
- 24:53Speaker 2: depth in an organization. I think he is deserved for everybody,
- 24:58Speaker 2: but I also don't see it changing this year, this offseason.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Tito is heavily aligned with Nick Kroll and Brad Matter,
- 25:07Speaker 2: the GM. If they weren't there, I don't know that
- 25:11Speaker 2: Tito's there, quite honestly. That's how he feels about those
- 25:15Speaker 2: two guys. If you were going to fire them, you
- 25:21Speaker 2: were probably going to be looking for another manager, too.
- 25:24Speaker 2: And you weren't going to improve on manager. That's fair.
- 25:28Speaker 2: That's fair.
- 25:29Speaker 5: When you mentioned Tyler Stevenson, you had mentioned it on
- 25:32Speaker 5: your show too about how they were overvaluing him compared
- 25:37Speaker 5: to the rest of the league. Is that kind of
- 25:40Speaker 5: a microcosm of where the Reds value players in the
- 25:44Speaker 5: sense that If you look at Tyler Stevenson, you say
- 25:48Speaker 5: good hitter for a catcher, he's above average hitter, but
- 25:51Speaker 5: there are underlying metrics that do devalue him. And is
- 25:56Speaker 5: that like a microcosm of what the Reds are doing
- 26:01Speaker 5: compared to the rest of the league?
- 26:02Speaker 2: Not saying you have to be a sheep and follow everybody, but... Well,
- 26:07Speaker 2: you can go back in history and look. For the
- 26:09Speaker 2: last decade, they didn't trade a Roldis Chapman on time.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Look at what they got for Jay Bruce, for a
- 26:14Speaker 2: Roldis Chapman, for... our buddy Todd Frazier, you know, when
- 26:18Speaker 2: things were obvious that like, this is the time to
- 26:21Speaker 2: move guys, they haven't done it. Um, and that's just
- 26:25Speaker 2: a fact with you. Part of, if you are the
- 26:29Speaker 2: raise the brewers, what those guys, what those front offices are,
- 26:33Speaker 2: are ruthless about who is ready, who's going to contribute.
- 26:38Speaker 2: And I think, There is a lot to be said
- 26:42Speaker 2: for makeup and good clubhouse guys and that kind of thing.
- 26:47Speaker 2: But that can't be the number one driver. You got
- 26:49Speaker 2: to get some guys who can play.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Eric Kratz, you're smart. You were a catcher in Major
- 26:55Speaker 1: League Baseball for a long time. You need to be
- 26:57Speaker 1: smart to be a catcher. And you also need to
- 26:59Speaker 1: be smart to get the best possible wireless plan that
- 27:03Speaker 1: you can get. Don't fall for the gimmicks or certain
- 27:07Speaker 1: types of sign-up bonuses. Just give me the cheap rate
- 27:10Speaker 1: and the premium wireless.
- 27:13Speaker 2: That's what Mint Mobile gives us, and you don't pay
- 27:16Speaker 2: a lot, and you get a lot.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Seems like a no-brainer, even for what you said, a
- 27:21Speaker 2: smart guy. Yep.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Be smart. Get your new wireless plan for just $ 15
- 27:25Speaker 1: a month. Go to mintmobile.com slash territory. Cut your wireless
- 27:29Speaker 1: bill to $ 15 a month at mintmobile.com slash territory. Upfront
- 27:33Speaker 1: payment of $ 45 for three months, $ 90 for six months,
- 27:34Speaker 1: or $ 180 for 12 months plan required. $ 15 per month equivalent.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Taxes and fees extra. Initial plan term only. Greater than
- 27:43Speaker 1: 50 gigabytes may slow when network is busy. Includes up
- 27:46Speaker 1: to 20 gigabyte hotspot. Capable device required. Availability, speed, and
- 27:50Speaker 1: coverage varies. See mintmobile.com.
- 27:51Speaker 2: All right.
- 27:53Speaker 5: You brought up position players. I'm going to bring up
- 27:56Speaker 5: Noel V. Marte along with the position players that you have.
- 27:59Speaker 5: I mean, can't miss prospect, steroid, PD, all that stuff.
- 28:04Speaker 5: Went to the outfield. There was promise there. Is this
- 28:07Speaker 5: a organizational thing? in the big leagues type of thing
- 28:10Speaker 5: where they can't develop that because I think Derek Johnson
- 28:14Speaker 5: has done it the exact opposite on the pitching end
- 28:17Speaker 5: and has helped these guys develop and continue to, until
- 28:20Speaker 5: this year with some bad defense, improve on their pitching staff.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, but you can't teach hitting at the
- 28:29Speaker 2: big league level. I think this is development. They have
- 28:32Speaker 2: not gotten these guys ready for the big leagues. Noel V. Marte,
- 28:35Speaker 2: he was hitting like. 380 in AAA. But the AAA,
- 28:40Speaker 2: I think that tells you the big difference between AAA
- 28:42Speaker 2: now and the big leagues, that you can hit 380
- 28:45Speaker 2: in AAA and then hit 100 in the big leagues.
- 28:49Speaker 2: There is a disconnect there, and they've got to figure
- 28:52Speaker 2: that out. Sal Stewart, he's made that leap. Some other
- 28:57Speaker 2: guys have not. Noeli Marte, Edwin Arroyo. You keep going
- 29:02Speaker 2: down the prospects that they've had, and you don't really
- 29:07Speaker 2: have any of those top tier prospects coming there. Their
- 29:10Speaker 2: best prospects are double a and lower, and that's not
- 29:14Speaker 2: going to help right away.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I got one, uh, Sal Stewart, as we've been talking
- 29:23Speaker 1: about him a little bit here. Um, very good. Um,
- 29:27Speaker 1: thoughts on his first full season, how seriously he takes
- 29:31Speaker 1: playing every day. And, you know, if there should, any
- 29:35Speaker 1: debate at all, or if he should be like a
- 29:37Speaker 1: unanimous rookie of the year. especially with Weatherholt missing time
- 29:42Speaker 1: here the last couple of weeks with injury.
- 29:45Speaker 2: I mean, I like those two Mets guys too. I mean,
- 29:47Speaker 2: they've done really well and I will listen to arguments there,
- 29:50Speaker 2: but I mean, Sal Stewart has, you know, you look at,
- 29:54Speaker 2: and I'm not, I'm a big believer that the best hitter,
- 29:58Speaker 2: best hitters in the clutch or the best hitters. Um,
- 30:01Speaker 2: but he is really produced with runners on base. That's
- 30:04Speaker 2: what you want to see. You've seen a mature approach
- 30:06Speaker 2: with Sal Stewart. You know, he's getting better. You know,
- 30:11Speaker 2: I'll give you a little thing. Um, last week or
- 30:13Speaker 2: two weeks ago, um, Brewers are in town and he
- 30:17Speaker 2: goes up to, um, Ty France before the game. Didn't
- 30:22Speaker 2: know Ty, uh, that well, and just said, started picking
- 30:27Speaker 2: his brain about first base to get better at first base.
- 30:30Speaker 2: And just talking to Ty France and he's talking to
- 30:32Speaker 2: all these guys and taking in that information. And I
- 30:36Speaker 2: think that's kind of an awesome sign when this guy
- 30:39Speaker 2: is putting up these offensive numbers and so much of
- 30:45Speaker 2: he's trying to find every single way to get better
- 30:48Speaker 2: in the field, to be a better all around player. Um,
- 30:51Speaker 2: Sal Stewart is, is the success story, right? Of this Reds, uh, franchise, honestly,
- 30:58Speaker 2: because you say that's a front office. How did they
- 31:00Speaker 2: get Sal Stewart? They didn't, they let Nick Castellanos walk.
- 31:05Speaker 2: They get a comp pick for him. And then if
- 31:10Speaker 2: Sal wins the MVP or the rookie of the year,
- 31:12Speaker 2: I'm sorry, if he wins rookie of the year, they're
- 31:14Speaker 2: going to get another draft pick for him. Um, so those,
- 31:17Speaker 2: and then you watch him develop, you moved them up through.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Is he the anomaly or the model? And That's the
- 31:25Speaker 2: question that they have to take a good hard look
- 31:27Speaker 2: at the inside of how they have structured their development.
- 31:33Speaker 6: All right.
- 31:33Speaker 1: L.A.
- 31:33Speaker 2: De La Cruz. L.A.
- 31:35Speaker 5: De La Cruz will have over three years of, I mean, over, yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 5: He'll be coming up to his two last seasons as
- 31:44Speaker 5: a Red. His next season, his last year in a
- 31:48Speaker 5: Reds uniform is, And is that a sad state of
- 31:53Speaker 5: who you were talking about before of ownership?
- 31:58Speaker 2: Yeah, but also he has to want it too. And
- 32:00Speaker 2: I think, you know, to, to spend your career in
- 32:06Speaker 2: a place like Cincinnati, you've got to really want to
- 32:12Speaker 2: be here. And, you know, I, I think Ellie's wants
- 32:15Speaker 2: to be here while he's here, but he's also a
- 32:18Speaker 2: guy that has some bigger ambitions and, Ellie Dayland-Cruz is
- 32:22Speaker 2: a competitor. He wants to win. So, you know, I
- 32:27Speaker 2: don't know how much you're going. He's going into his
- 32:32Speaker 2: first year of ARB this year. So it's going to
- 32:36Speaker 2: be a challenge to put a team around him while
- 32:40Speaker 2: he's still here. I don't think anybody can expect him
- 32:45Speaker 2: to be with the Reds his entire career. It just
- 32:49Speaker 2: is not... it's not practical and it's not realistic. And
- 32:54Speaker 2: that's just the state of the game. Now, who knows
- 32:57Speaker 2: what that means in six months or whenever this is
- 33:01Speaker 2: all settled, but still it's, it's going to be a hard,
- 33:04Speaker 2: hard to get him. They, they put up, you know,
- 33:09Speaker 2: an offer a couple of years ago, the largest contract
- 33:12Speaker 2: offer and team history eclipsing the Joey Votto one. But again,
- 33:18Speaker 2: that's not something Ellie's going to look at. And, and
- 33:21Speaker 2: he is, he is showing everybody why he is this
- 33:28Speaker 2: immense talent and that he could have this just unbelievable
- 33:32Speaker 2: contract in the future because what he has, he has become,
- 33:36Speaker 2: he is becoming a better and better player. What he
- 33:39Speaker 2: is doing from the right side this year, you know,
- 33:42Speaker 2: you heard people call him to say, should he stop
- 33:44Speaker 2: switch hitting and everybody turning him around left-handed the his
- 33:48Speaker 2: first couple of years. And now you look at him
- 33:51Speaker 2: and he's, he has the highest, or I don't know,
- 33:54Speaker 2: I haven't looked it up today, but last week, as
- 33:56Speaker 2: of last week, he had like the highest average and
- 33:57Speaker 2: the highest OPS against left-handed pitching and baseball. And then
- 34:04Speaker 2: he was just on a heater there. Like right now, if,
- 34:09Speaker 2: if he miss hit something, it's still over a hundred
- 34:11Speaker 2: miles an hour exit velocity that, that the shot he
- 34:13Speaker 2: hit last night is just, you know, that's going to be,
- 34:17Speaker 2: One of those that's talked about like the Adam Dunn
- 34:19Speaker 2: ball off Jose Lima here for a long, long time.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Jose Lima, Adam Dunn, two names I haven't heard in
- 34:26Speaker 4: a while. Before I let you go, I got to ask,
- 34:28Speaker 4: do any of those helmets behind you actually fit on
- 34:30Speaker 4: your head or are they just there for show? Do
- 34:32Speaker 4: you like walk around in those sometimes just for fun?
- 34:35Speaker 2: Yes.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Which one? I don't believe that any of them fit
- 34:39Speaker 2: on your head. Oh, the biker's got one does.
- 34:42Speaker 6: Okay.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Prove it.
- 34:44Speaker 1: No.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I don't believe you. I don't believe you. That's fine.
- 34:52Speaker 2: There's no way.
- 34:53Speaker 1: AJ, maybe he'll bring one to a game for you.
- 34:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Maybe he'll bring one to a game for you and
- 34:57Speaker 1: you can try it. AJ would definitely wear it.
- 35:00Speaker 2: No, no doubt.
- 35:01Speaker 4: The little bike. No, it's a big one. I still
- 35:03Speaker 4: don't believe it.
- 35:05Speaker 2: The Lego one. No, but the actual one. Yeah. It fits.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Not comfortably, but it fits.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Okay.
- 35:11Speaker 2: The guard does not. The what? The Empress Royal guard
- 35:16Speaker 2: does not the red one.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Oh, the red one. Yeah.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yeah. I figured that one wasn't fitting.
- 35:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Grogu.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Grogu fits perfectly. You should next time we'd have you
- 35:24Speaker 4: on your lap.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Well, Grogu, I like Grogu.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Uh, good stuff.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Uh, C Trent, thanks for the time as always, and
- 35:33Speaker 1: encouraging everyone to check out riverfront, uh, territory for a
- 35:37Speaker 1: little bit of venting at this point in the season.
- 35:39Speaker 1: I know there are some unhappy fans with everything looking
- 35:42Speaker 1: kind of the same front office and managerial wise. So
- 35:45Speaker 1: let's see Trent and company talk you through it. Appreciate you, man.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Talk soon. Always.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Thanks, guys. Bye, AJ. Bye, C-Trent.
