- 0:06Speaker 2: You are listening to the voice, Come on now, dig
- 0:10Speaker 2: me one and only Steve Harvey Man got a radio show.
- 0:14Speaker 1: What God doing, y'all? Huh?
- 0:17Speaker 2: What he doing? What he doing in your life? He
- 0:19Speaker 2: doing something? He moving, he working. Don't lose your patience though,
- 0:24Speaker 2: see I did that before. Don't lose your patience. Don't
- 0:29Speaker 2: get so sick of waiting that you take matters into
- 0:32Speaker 2: your own hands. Don't do that. Boy, you're blowing it.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Listen to me. You're listening to somebody who's done it
- 0:40Speaker 2: that way. I had a dream, I had a vision.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I had some hope, I have some faith, I have
- 0:46Speaker 2: some aspirations. But I got a little impatient waiting on it.
- 0:51Speaker 2: So I tried a couple other things. Move it along, boy,
- 0:54Speaker 2: I can't tell you how I messed it up. Then
- 0:56Speaker 2: I messed it up. Then, because God gave me the
- 0:58Speaker 2: power of decision. What I have had to do was
- 1:00Speaker 2: then after I took matters into my own hand, messed
- 1:04Speaker 2: it up.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Now I guess what, he still got something fummy.
- 1:08Speaker 2: But nah, I gotta fix all the mistakes now, I
- 1:10Speaker 2: gotta straighten them out. Gotta I gotta suffer some consequences.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I gotta pay for my transgressions. All of that, all
- 1:17Speaker 2: of that, it's gotta go down. You can't do something
- 1:21Speaker 2: wrong and not pay for it. It's just you call it, calma,
- 1:25Speaker 2: call it whatever you want to call it. Every action
- 1:29Speaker 2: has an equal and opposite reaction every action. If it
- 1:34Speaker 2: just stays sunny all the time, you might think it's cool,
- 1:37Speaker 2: but there's gonna be a reaction to it.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Ain't no dark, ain't no shade, ain't no break, ain't
- 1:42Speaker 1: no rain.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Gonna be hard if it's just sunny all the time,
- 1:46Speaker 2: vice versa. So you need you need the opposite. You
- 1:50Speaker 2: need the darkness so you can get your break from
- 1:53Speaker 2: that sun. You need the rain so you can nourish
- 1:56Speaker 2: the roots so that sun can it can soak up
- 1:59Speaker 2: the sun and get the benefit of the sun. If
- 2:01Speaker 2: you don't get the opposite, you got a problem, man.
- 2:05Speaker 2: And it happens throughout nature, it happens throughout your life.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Don't think that you can do wrong and not have
- 2:12Speaker 2: to pay for that. You think this is man. We
- 2:16Speaker 2: think man because we'd have made a decision that we
- 2:18Speaker 2: think is best for us, and no matter how to
- 2:21Speaker 2: affect nobody else.
- 2:22Speaker 1: We got the right to make that call. No, you don't.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Whoever is telling you that, whoever's misguiding you into the
- 2:28Speaker 2: gang life, telling you, yeah, man, you need to be
- 2:30Speaker 2: this way to be down with us. I'll tell you what.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Get yourself stuck on chuck with that gang. See how
- 2:35Speaker 2: many of them be there for you. Oh they'll go around
- 2:38Speaker 2: the corner with you and start shooting. But look, okay,
- 2:41Speaker 2: when it's time to do some time and they can
- 2:43Speaker 2: lessen they sentence, you're gonna get that time.
- 2:46Speaker 1: They gonna point their finger dead at you.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I watched for eight hours all the time, man, I
- 2:50Speaker 2: watch Lock Up Raw all the time, all the time, man,
- 2:53Speaker 2: all the time. Ain't no real cold dudes out there,
- 2:57Speaker 2: just holding to the mantra and sticking to it. Even
- 3:00Speaker 2: the mob turned state side evidence go fed all that.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Now we are now out of the hood. We didne
- 3:05Speaker 2: created this ignorant mess called no snitching. With that ignorant mess,
- 3:09Speaker 2: you don't even understand. No snitching was created by criminals
- 3:12Speaker 2: as a cold of honor. If you do dirt and
- 3:15Speaker 2: you get busted doing the dirt, don't bring my name up.
- 3:18Speaker 2: If I was with you, that's a colde of honor
- 3:20Speaker 2: amongst the thieves. Now, so many code of honor thieves
- 3:23Speaker 2: that then came out of prison. They ain't gotten honor.
- 3:25Speaker 2: They done brought that stuff back to the street. Now,
- 3:27Speaker 2: that's all in the neighborhood. No snitching. No snitching, you
- 3:30Speaker 2: got to be crazy. That's for people who disobey the law.
- 3:35Speaker 2: That's who people have made a cold of honor amongst
- 3:37Speaker 2: themselves as thieves. Hey, man, if you get busted, don't
- 3:39Speaker 2: drag me down with you. Just do your time. Oh man,
- 3:43Speaker 2: you can't bring that stuff out here to me. I'm
- 3:44Speaker 2: a law biding citizen.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Dog. I'm trying to live right over here. Man.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I don't want no crack house up street from my
- 3:51Speaker 2: mama's house. I'm trying to do right out here. Man,
- 3:54Speaker 2: you can't do wrong and expect wrong not to come
- 3:56Speaker 2: to you. You got to make a decision every day
- 3:59Speaker 2: to do right. That God ain't got no protection you
- 4:02Speaker 2: on dirt. You got what you got coming. You made
- 4:04Speaker 2: a decision. You go down there to get some you
- 4:09Speaker 2: might get got See, we got to come on. I'm
- 4:13Speaker 2: talking to so many men out here right now. I
- 4:16Speaker 2: should have said that in the beginning, but a conversation
- 4:18Speaker 2: that kind of got away from me. I was gonna
- 4:19Speaker 2: talk to you about something else this morning. But they're
- 4:22Speaker 2: just only man because our communities. Man, it's just going
- 4:24Speaker 2: to the pot man because it ain't nobody can about
- 4:28Speaker 2: nobody else. Don't nobody care when they see the young
- 4:31Speaker 2: dude over there doing wrong. Look at them foods over there.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Man, go over there and talk to one of them.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Pull them to the side.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Man. You might not be able to approach the group,
- 4:40Speaker 2: but you can approach an individual.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Come in, young man. Let me talk to you. I
- 4:44Speaker 1: saw you the other day. Man.
- 4:44Speaker 2: You look like you got something going on in your life.
- 4:46Speaker 2: What's happening with you? Let me talk to you, man,
- 4:49Speaker 2: Let me share something I learned I was doing what
- 4:51Speaker 2: you was doing.
- 4:53Speaker 1: You know.
- 4:53Speaker 2: It's like Tommy did a prank phone call one time
- 4:55Speaker 2: as a limo driver and the dude the prank was
- 5:00Speaker 2: call this limo company to ask this limo driver to
- 5:03Speaker 2: take him to this location late at night, and the
- 5:07Speaker 2: limo driver got a young business he going, yeah, okay,
- 5:10Speaker 2: I got you. I don't normally work like that. But
- 5:12Speaker 2: how long you need it?
- 5:13Speaker 1: He said?
- 5:13Speaker 2: For just about a hour, he said well, I'm gonna
- 5:15Speaker 2: have to charge you for the full three though, because
- 5:17Speaker 2: a three hour minimum.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Tommy told him, now, I just need it for one hours.
- 5:21Speaker 1: He said, okay, I'll give you a break. Young man.
- 5:23Speaker 2: You're trying to do something. Where you want to go?
- 5:25Speaker 2: He gave an address. The man stopped writing. He said,
- 5:28Speaker 2: that's a bank. He said, yeah. He said, you want
- 5:32Speaker 2: to go to the bank at twelve thirty at night.
- 5:35Speaker 2: He said yeah, And I'm gonna be in for a
- 5:37Speaker 2: few minutes, and when I come out that bank, I
- 5:40Speaker 2: need for you to flow it. That to do with
- 5:43Speaker 2: the limo. He stopped writing. He said, hold on, hold on, man,
- 5:48Speaker 2: you want me to take you to a bank twelve
- 5:50Speaker 2: thirty at night. You gonna be in there for a
- 5:52Speaker 2: few minutes and you gonna come out, and you want
- 5:55Speaker 2: me to flow it. He said, sir, I don't do
- 5:58Speaker 2: stuff like that. He said, you got the company? He said,
- 6:01Speaker 2: what made you call here? He said, hey, man, don't
- 6:03Speaker 2: worry about that. You a limo company. You just drive.
- 6:05Speaker 2: He stopped and took the time out. He said, young man,
- 6:09Speaker 2: let me tell you something. He said, I've been down before,
- 6:12Speaker 2: I've been locked up before. It ain't pretty. He said,
- 6:15Speaker 2: that's what's wrong with you young people today. Instead of going
- 6:18Speaker 2: to get a job trying to work your way, you're
- 6:20Speaker 2: always looking for some fast money. He said, I'm gonna
- 6:22Speaker 2: tell you what I already know. Don't go down there
- 6:24Speaker 2: messing with them people's money like that because they love
- 6:26Speaker 2: that money way more than they love you, and they
- 6:28Speaker 2: gonna do something to you down now. Now, you stop
- 6:31Speaker 2: this foolishness. And I'm not caring you nowhere, but I'm
- 6:34Speaker 2: gonna take a little bit of time out to tell
- 6:36Speaker 2: you something. Don't go down here with messing with these
- 6:39Speaker 2: people's money because it ain't gonna go good. They gonna
- 6:42Speaker 2: take care of their business when they come to that money.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Tommy kept insisting to this man to pick him up
- 6:46Speaker 2: in the limito. It was a plank phone call. But
- 6:48Speaker 2: the point I'm making is the man took our time.
- 6:51Speaker 2: He could have just hung the phone up. But you
- 6:53Speaker 2: know what he said. He said, hold up, young man,
- 6:55Speaker 2: let me hip you to something. Because the brother had
- 6:58Speaker 2: been locked up before. He said, no, no, no, see I've
- 7:00Speaker 2: done that when I was young. Now I'm gonna stop it.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna take some moment out to tell you I'm
- 7:04Speaker 2: up here working man trying to earn an honest living.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I ain't going back down there because I don't. They
- 7:09Speaker 1: make you eat what they want you to eat.
- 7:10Speaker 2: You don't want the food. You got to get up
- 7:12Speaker 2: when they say get up. You gotta stay where they
- 7:14Speaker 2: say stay, live with who they say live. He said, man,
- 7:17Speaker 2: you don't want that, and he just tried to talk
- 7:19Speaker 2: the young man out of me. You can change a
- 7:21Speaker 2: young man's mind with a conversation. A conversation can change
- 7:26Speaker 2: a young man's mind. Most of these young men that
- 7:28Speaker 2: are misguided ain't having conversations with real men. They're just
- 7:32Speaker 2: not having them. And it's up to us, who know
- 7:34Speaker 2: what manhood is. It is to start delivering the message
- 7:38Speaker 2: the problem that we have in our communities we can
- 7:40Speaker 2: solve ourselves, and to escalate it to a point because
- 7:43Speaker 2: we who are men, won't stop on our corporate climb
- 7:47Speaker 2: and our day to day making money and trying to
- 7:49Speaker 2: ball out. We won't stop and grab some of these
- 7:52Speaker 2: young soldiers and tell them the truth about manhood. That's
- 7:55Speaker 2: the real deal. Okay, So I went there. I don't
- 7:57Speaker 2: know where they came from.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You're listening. You couldn seed leave Harvey morning show
