• 2:07
Speaker 3: on the road against Parkersburg. Chris Lawrence and Aaron Parker
• 2:10
Speaker 3: with the call. Chris joints us Now, Chris, good morning,
• 2:13
Speaker 3: Good morning, David. Are you kind of going along with
• 2:15
Speaker 3: what you've done this week? You've done the morning new
• 2:17
Speaker 3: solo this week. You're also going to be doing the
• 2:20
Speaker 3: game tonight. You're gonna be refing the game tonight, gonna
• 2:23
Speaker 3: be playing a quarterback for both teams.
• 2:25
Speaker 5: No, No, I'm going to coach both teams. My playing
• 2:28
  Speaker 5: days are over.
• 2:29
Speaker 3: Let's talk about the Redskins and Parkersburg. What you got
• 2:31
  Speaker 3: in this game.
• 2:33
Speaker 5: It should be a good matchup. Both teams come into
• 2:35
Speaker 5: this one in one and really trying to look for
• 2:39
Speaker 5: an identity. I think Hurricane specifically. I think their offense
• 2:44
Speaker 5: is running like Green's lightning. The defense is where they
• 2:49
Speaker 5: need work. They've been through two games here and they've
• 2:51
Speaker 5: given up a lot of points and far more than
• 2:53
Speaker 5: I think Donny Donny Mays would want him to. But offensively,
• 2:57
Speaker 5: he likes where the team is at this point. So
• 2:59
Speaker 5: it should be a good one tonight. Parkersburg comes into this,
• 3:03
Speaker 5: and they're one in one, like I said, and I
• 3:05
Speaker 5: don't think they really know where they are as a team.
• 3:09
Speaker 5: And they're an interesting squad as well, because they will
• 3:12
Speaker 5: give what the they will take what the defense gives them.
• 3:15
Speaker 5: So it'll be interesting to see whether they will run
• 3:17
Speaker 5: or pass. My guess is run. I was looking over
• 3:19
Speaker 5: the stats last night. Their quarterback through two games hasn't
• 3:23
Speaker 5: thrown a touchdown pass yet, so it's them on a
• 3:26
Speaker 5: peak too early. Yeah, so it's definitely a running attack.
• 3:29
Speaker 5: We'll see how that goes tonight when we get to
• 3:32
Speaker 5: get to get together at Historic Stadium Field STADIU.
• 3:35
Speaker 3: It's one of the great names of sports. Stadium field.
• 3:37
Speaker 5: Yeah, they thought a long time about that. Is it
• 3:39
Speaker 5: a stadium or a field? We'll call it both.
• 3:41
Speaker 3: Stadium Field coverage begins at.
• 3:43
Speaker 5: We'll be on there at seven o'clock from Stadium Field
• 3:45
Speaker 5: and the kickoff is at seven thirty. And of course
• 3:47
Speaker 5: after the game here on five adadcchs, Fred and Dave
• 3:51
Speaker 5: have the Historic Metro News game Night. Indeed, what do
• 3:54
Speaker 5: we get on West Virginia Outdoors tomorrow, Well, it's squirrel season.
• 3:57
Speaker 5: Opening day is tomorrow, so we'll be talking about that.
• 3:59
Speaker 5: We'll also so preview a couple of things that are
• 4:02
Speaker 5: going to happen. Next weekend. I'll be I'll be live
• 4:06
Speaker 5: not tomorrow, but next weekend. I'll be live at Stonewall
• 4:09
Speaker 5: Resort for the annual National Hunting and Fishing Day celebration,
• 4:13
Speaker 5: as that has for the last about four three or
• 4:15
Speaker 5: four years has been held at the Summit Back Tol Reserve,
• 4:18
Speaker 5: but they're moving it back to Stonewall Resort, so that'll
• 4:21
Speaker 5: be something new and we'll talk about what's in store there.
• 4:24
Speaker 5: Plus and this was I don't know that they meant
• 4:27
Speaker 5: for this to happen this way, but the same weekend
• 4:29
Speaker 5: next weekend as the West Virginia Trappers Fall Rendezvous and
• 4:32
Speaker 5: they have that at Glenville on Friday and Saturday. So
• 4:36
Speaker 5: we'll talk to some of the folks with Trappers Association
• 4:38
Speaker 5: about what they got going on.
• 4:39
Speaker 3: Because man, I love to hang out with those guys.
• 4:42
Speaker 5: I love to go up to that thing and just
• 4:44
Speaker 5: sit and talk to those fellows because they are an
• 4:45
Speaker 5: encyclopedia of outdoors knowledge. You can learn a lot just
• 4:49
Speaker 5: sitting around listening to conversations that get together.
• 4:51
Speaker 3: And anytime Chris Lawrence says, you can learn something that
• 4:53
Speaker 3: these guys must know what they're talking about. All right, Chris,
• 4:57
Speaker 3: we'll be listening to night Man. Have save travels up there.
• 5:00
Speaker 3: Let's move over to Tom Bragg. Now, he and I
• 5:03
Speaker 3: think Matt Murphy are going to have coverage of what
• 5:04
Speaker 3: promises to be a good one in Nitro with a
• 5:07
Speaker 3: Wildcats take it on Herbert Hoover tonight. Now, Chris is
• 5:10
Speaker 3: game the Hurricane game on WCCHS the Hoover games the
• 5:13
Speaker 3: season on ninety six one er sister station KWS. Let's
• 5:16
Speaker 3: go to Tom Bragg. Tom good morning, welcome back to
• 5:18
  Speaker 3: the show.
• 5:20
Speaker 6: Thanks for having me on. Dave Man. Usually I'm sitting
• 5:22
Speaker 6: around listening to Chris. If he's got guys he listens to,
• 5:25
Speaker 6: I might need to just skip him and go to
• 5:26
  Speaker 6: the source.
• 5:27
Speaker 3: That was my point I was saying. Anytime Chris Lawrence says, man,
• 5:30
Speaker 3: I love to hear and I love to learn stuff
• 5:33
Speaker 3: about these outdoors guys, I'm thinking, well, of these guys
• 5:35
Speaker 3: must know what the heck they're talking about, then, right right,
• 5:37
Speaker 3: all right, let's move to your game tonight, Hoover and Nitro.
• 5:41
Speaker 6: Oh big game at underwood Field tonight. A pair of
• 5:44
Speaker 6: two and o unbeaten teams in the Cardinal Conference getting
• 5:48
Speaker 6: together down there at Nitro. Two really good teams so far.
• 5:51
Speaker 6: When they met last year, it was kind of a
• 5:53
Speaker 6: similar situation, particularly for Nitro. You know, they start off
• 5:56
Speaker 6: two and oh, flying high, scoring a bunch of points.
• 5:59
Speaker 6: But they ran into a really off Hoover team in
• 6:00
Speaker 6: Week three last year and it kind of stumbled. They
• 6:04
Speaker 6: stubbed their toe a little bit and stumbled a little
• 6:06
Speaker 6: bit through the middle.
• 6:06
Speaker 7: Part of the season.
• 6:07
Speaker 6: Wildcats looking to avoid that this year. The other side
• 6:09
Speaker 6: of that, Hoover off to a two and oh start
• 6:11
Speaker 6: for the first time in a couple of years. They
• 6:13
Speaker 6: hadn't been able to get over the hump against Winfield
• 6:15
Speaker 6: in the regular season, had a pretty good game against
• 6:17
Speaker 6: the Generals last week, ended up winning that game thirty
• 6:19
Speaker 6: five to nineteen. Was maybe a little bit closer than
• 6:22
Speaker 6: the score indicated, but there was also a late touchdown
• 6:24
Speaker 6: that came off the board for Hoover. So what do
• 6:26
Speaker 6: I know, right, Dave? But yeah, man, two really good
• 6:30
Speaker 6: teams and a lot of the focus here tonight is
• 6:32
Speaker 6: going to be on the quarterback of Paris Seniors. Dane
• 6:35
Speaker 6: Hatfield from Herbert Hoover and Josh Moody from Nitro, two
• 6:39
Speaker 6: of the best, if not the two best quarterbacks here
• 6:41
Speaker 6: in the Kanaw Valley this season, and two of the
• 6:44
Speaker 6: best in the state. I figure they're going to put
• 6:45
Speaker 6: on a show for being Matt tonight.
• 6:46
Speaker 3: It's going to be a great one again. And this
• 6:48
Speaker 3: one's in Nitro tonight, a couple of undefeated teams, Nitro
• 6:51
Speaker 3: Wildcats and the Herbert Hoover Huskies. And this is on
• 6:55
Speaker 3: our sister station nine to six to one KWS. Coverage
• 6:58
Speaker 3: begins tom at what time covers begins.
• 7:00
Speaker 6: The game kicks off at seven, so we'll be on
• 7:02
Speaker 6: about six fifty five, six fifty leading in.
• 7:04
Speaker 3: All right, we'll be listening, Tom. I appreciate you being here.
• 7:07
  Speaker 8: Man.
• 7:07
Speaker 3: Have a great game tonight.
• 7:09
Speaker 6: Hey, thanks Dave, we'll talk next week.
• 7:10
Speaker 3: All right again, Tom Bragg, Well, he and Matt Guitarmur
• 7:13
Speaker 3: If you will have coverage of Hoover and Nitro tonight.
• 7:15
Speaker 3: Chris Lawrence and Aaron Parker will have coverage on w

• 7:37
Speaker 3: go to Hannah Gardner from the Kenaw Charlest New Main
• 7:39
Speaker 3: Association with this week's Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week. Hannah,
• 7:43
Speaker 3: good morning, welcome to the show.
• 7:45
Speaker 9: Good morning, how are you?
• 7:46
  Speaker 3: Don't find you?
• 7:47
  Speaker 10: Will?
• 7:47
  Speaker 3: You and I haven't talked in a while because I
• 7:49
Speaker 3: was on vacation and and I think you had a
• 7:51
Speaker 3: little sickness that rolled through the area up to the
• 7:54
Speaker 3: shelter last week. Glad to know that you folks are
• 7:57
Speaker 3: doing well. Welcome back.
• 8:00
Speaker 9: I feel much better now, so thank you. I'm glad
• 8:02
  Speaker 9: to be back.
• 8:04
Speaker 3: So before I do want to touch on Kettra Caneines
• 8:07
Speaker 3: because that is your big event that's going to be
• 8:09
Speaker 3: going on tomorrow at the Red Carpet Lounge. We will
• 8:11
Speaker 3: get to that a little bit later on. But our
• 8:13
Speaker 3: pet of the week it's a dog named Rommy. And
• 8:17
Speaker 3: as always, pictures are posted on Dave Island Radio and
• 8:20
Speaker 3: Facebook and at Dave A seventy on x tell us
• 8:23
Speaker 3: all about Rommy Hannah.
• 8:26
Speaker 9: All right, Well, Rommy is a very very sweet girl.
• 8:30
Speaker 9: She prefers calmer dogs as friends, and she does pull
• 8:36
Speaker 9: on the leash a little bit, so she could use
• 8:37
Speaker 9: a little bit of work with that. But other than that,
• 8:41
Speaker 9: she is around two ish years old, and we go
• 8:45
Speaker 9: by their guns and their teeth, so it could be
• 8:46
Speaker 9: a roundabout, but that's pretty a good ustimate of where
• 8:50
Speaker 9: she is at an age. And she is six already,
• 8:54
Speaker 9: so she is ready to go home. And I believe
• 8:57
Speaker 9: she is fully evaccinated and clitips, so she's got that
• 9:02
Speaker 9: already and she'll be ready to go home with you
• 9:04
Speaker 9: if you're ready to adopt her or even foster her.
• 9:07
Speaker 9: She is a foster candidate, so if you wanted to
• 9:10
Speaker 9: come up and you're not quite ready to make that
• 9:12
Speaker 9: full on commitment until you see how she is at home,
• 9:16
Speaker 9: because everything that we say is at the shelter, not
• 9:19
Speaker 9: in the home, so it can be very different when
• 9:21
Speaker 9: you take a dog home. However, she is a good
• 9:25
Speaker 9: fist foster candidate and would love to go home and
• 9:28
Speaker 9: hang out with you and see how your life is
• 9:30
Speaker 9: and you can see how hers is. But she's a
• 9:33
Speaker 9: very very sweet girl. She is ready to go home.
• 9:36
Speaker 9: She is around I believe forty six to forty five
• 9:41
Speaker 9: forty six pounds now. She is fully grown, so she's
• 9:45
Speaker 9: not going to get any bigger or anything like that,
• 9:47
Speaker 9: but she might fill out. Depends on how you feed
• 9:49
Speaker 9: her and how you take care of her. But her
• 9:52
Speaker 9: exercise me that'd say are pretty average. She can be
• 9:56
Speaker 9: laid back, but she can also be a very playful
• 9:58
Speaker 9: girl as well. So but when it comes to other dogs,
• 10:02
Speaker 9: she does prefer dogs that are also more laid back,
• 10:06
Speaker 9: maybe can play with a little bit here and there,
• 10:08
Speaker 9: but she doesn't really care too much for dogs that
• 10:11
Speaker 9: are more hyperactive. That's not really her type of her
• 10:14
Speaker 9: type of dog, so she would benefit with a sibling
• 10:18
Speaker 9: that maybe is already older a little bit and is
• 10:23
Speaker 9: kind of not it's already out of that hyperactive pubby stage.
• 10:28
Speaker 9: But she's a really, really sweet girl. And look at
• 10:31
Speaker 9: her picture because she is so cute and she's an
• 10:34
Speaker 9: all black dog with the white on her chest. But
• 10:37
Speaker 9: she is ready to go home.
• 10:39
Speaker 3: Beautiful dog. And again that Romney's picture posted on my
• 10:42
Speaker 3: social media. Let's talk about cakes for canines. Red Carpet
• 10:46
Speaker 3: Lounge Elizabeth Street, give us all the information, the time,
• 10:48
Speaker 3: surprises and whatnot, because it's happening tomorrow, right, Yes, it is.
• 10:52
Speaker 9: Happening tomorrow and it is going to be at the
• 10:55
Speaker 9: Red Carpet Lounge. I believe there's a good bit of
• 10:58
Speaker 9: people going that have ourre you bought tickets, So if
• 11:01
Speaker 9: you want to buy a ticket, you can go on
• 11:03
Speaker 9: to Kennell Telston's Man Association's Facebook and we have been
• 11:08
Speaker 9: sharing everything we post to the kegsper Canine twenty twenty
• 11:12
Speaker 9: four Facebook page where you can find the tickets to
• 11:16
Speaker 9: bottom and you can also see the exact location that
• 11:20
Speaker 9: it's going to be at with the directions to there.
• 11:23
Speaker 9: And it's going to be from two pm to six
• 11:25
Speaker 9: pm tomorrow, so we're hoping to see as many people
• 11:28
Speaker 9: as we can. It is our annual groupest to help
• 11:32
Speaker 9: support the shelter Pets, and we'll be tailgating before the
• 11:37
Speaker 9: West Virginia University versus pit games.
• 11:39
Speaker 3: There seems to be a ballgame tomorrow that the people are
• 11:42
Speaker 3: interested in. Yeah, so that'll that'll be up there as well,
• 11:48
Speaker 3: and it's just it's just a good good time And
• 11:50
Speaker 3: as you said, tomorrow afternoon, now myself and Steve Animal
• 11:53
Speaker 3: from nine eight seven of the Mountain. I know Steve
• 11:55
Speaker 3: is always a regular down there. We are going to
• 11:56
Speaker 3: be hanging out at Ribfest tomorrow afternoon, but we're going
• 11:59
Speaker 3: to try our best to make an appearance at the
• 12:01
Speaker 3: Red Carpet at some point. To Mark Is, it's a
• 12:02
Speaker 3: cause that we definitely both agree with. So you got
• 12:06
Speaker 3: the kegs, you got the k nines, and you got
• 12:08
Speaker 3: the WVU pit game. What more could you want?
• 12:10
Speaker 9: Right exactly? And you can bring your own animals from
• 12:14
  Speaker 9: home as well.
• 12:15
Speaker 3: Okay, you can bring your own animals, all right, that's cool,
• 12:18
Speaker 3: that's good stuff, all right, all right, So and when
• 12:20
Speaker 3: will you actually have animals from the shelter there?
• 12:23
Speaker 9: Yeah, so we will have our caravan okay out in
• 12:26
Speaker 9: the like the road right beside of Red Carpet, so
• 12:29
Speaker 9: right when you walk in, you'll be able to see
• 12:31
Speaker 9: all the caravan animals. I believe we'll have puppies, We
• 12:35
Speaker 9: might have some older dogs, and then we may if
• 12:38
Speaker 9: we can have kittens. However, kittens get a lot more
• 12:41
Speaker 9: stressed in car rides, so it all depends on candidate is.
• 12:45
Speaker 3: Yeah. I've had three in my adult years, and not
• 12:49
Speaker 3: one of them was was really fond of of taking
• 12:51
Speaker 3: a ride in the car. So again it starts around
• 12:54
Speaker 3: two o'clock tomorrow afternoon, is it right, Yeah, two to
• 12:58
Speaker 3: six at the Red Carpet Lounge and again and tickets
• 13:01
Speaker 3: are available from you can just follow your guys website
• 13:04
Speaker 3: and there's information on your social media pages as well.
• 13:07
Speaker 3: Before we let you go, how are the numbers looking
• 13:09
  Speaker 3: up there?
• 13:11
Speaker 9: We're still pretty pretty cool. We've still been struggling with
• 13:16
Speaker 9: kennel space and I still think we have around the
• 13:20
Speaker 9: same amount, which is around two to three I think
• 13:24
Speaker 9: actually now it's raised. I've just looked at it said
• 13:27
Speaker 9: it was around four hundred animals in our care. That
• 13:30
Speaker 9: does include animals that are in shelter as well as
• 13:33
Speaker 9: in foster homes, because we still do provide everything for
• 13:36
Speaker 9: the animals in foster homes. So we are still really
• 13:39
Speaker 9: hot up there, and we are encouraging everybody to come
• 13:41
Speaker 9: out foster some dogs for the weekend, for a week
• 13:45
Speaker 9: or two however long you may want to, and then
• 13:48
Speaker 9: also adopt if you can. We absolutely love it, and
• 13:50
Speaker 9: of course, as always, we need every bit of volunteer
• 13:53
Speaker 9: help that we can get.
• 13:54
Speaker 3: All right, and we'll see you tomorrow. As I said,
• 13:57
Speaker 3: Steve and I will make an appearance there at some
• 13:58
Speaker 3: point tomorrow. We're going to be at Ripest, but we
• 14:00
Speaker 3: will be stopping by tomorrow to see you. So we'll

Speaker 15: I came in early. I heard on the car. I
• 19:55
Speaker 15: was driving across town and had the radio on in
• 19:58
Speaker 15: the car and I heard, you know, was Rummy, Rummy, Rummy, Rummy, Tommy.
• 20:02
Speaker 15: I heard you talking about Rummy. I was hoping Rummy
• 20:04
Speaker 15: would be here because you know that, you know I
• 20:06
Speaker 15: love dogs. I was hoping to be in here in
• 20:08
Speaker 15: the studio with Rummy. I was very disappointed when I
• 20:11
Speaker 15: got here and it was just you.
• 20:13
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry. Well, we did the best we could.
• 20:15
  Speaker 3: But Rummy's good like a dog. Maybe you've got a
• 20:17
Speaker 3: dog now, don't you.
• 20:17
Speaker 15: I have two dogs and a cat, and I love
• 20:19
Speaker 15: my pets. Dearly, And I just want to say, if
• 20:21
Speaker 15: somebody's listening to this show in Springfield, Ohio, we're gonna
• 20:25
Speaker 15: need a couple of character references.
• 20:27
Speaker 8: They're eating the dogs, the people that came in, they're
• 20:30
  Speaker 8: eating the cats.
• 20:31
Speaker 15: That's right, Canell Charleston Humane Association. It's not grub hub.
• 20:38
Speaker 15: How ridiculous is that anyway for the former president of
• 20:42
Speaker 15: the United States to just let's talk about that, about
• 20:45
Speaker 15: how ridiculous it is for him just to spread internet
• 20:49
Speaker 15: rumors and completely you know, unfounded urban legends that somebody
• 20:54
Speaker 15: posted about on Facebook and he wants to use that
• 20:57
  Speaker 15: as a as a point during a debate. That's ridiculous,
• 21:01
Speaker 15: unfit for the for office. That's what I said.
• 21:04
Speaker 3: That's that's going to be the one thing Coop and
• 21:06
Speaker 3: I were actually talking about this in the office earlier.
• 21:08
Speaker 3: That seems to be the one thing that every one
• 21:11
Speaker 3: or two things, one of the top things that everybody
• 21:13
Speaker 3: is is taking away from that was that statement. And
• 21:16
Speaker 3: again as soon as I said it about it being unfounded,
• 21:19
Speaker 3: I got and I appreciate it. I always appreciate my
• 21:21
Speaker 3: callers and textures, but I had people sending me clips, well,
• 21:25
Speaker 3: this is this is not made up. This is what's
• 21:27
Speaker 3: going on. It is actually going on, except.
• 21:30
Speaker 15: There are absolutely no records of any calls being made
• 21:34
Speaker 15: to the Springfield, Ohio Police Department in regards uh to
• 21:39
Speaker 15: you know, people eating their dogs and kids. There was
• 21:42
Speaker 15: I feel there was a scene.
• 21:44
Speaker 3: There was a story out of Canton, Ohio, but there's
• 21:47
Speaker 3: no reason to think that the two were related. Now,
• 21:50
Speaker 3: there have been people that have talked about it in.
• 21:52
Speaker 15: Spring I think that was about the Cleveland Browns. Yeah,
• 21:54
Speaker 15: well there's a lot of the you know, they have
• 21:56
  Speaker 15: the dogs.
• 21:56
Speaker 3: Well you've seen the meme floating around about the Bengals
• 21:58
Speaker 3: and the Browns. There's a lot of cats and was
• 22:00
Speaker 3: being killed in Ohio, right and including by my cowboys
• 22:02
Speaker 3: last week. But you know, sorry, Amanda Baron, but I
• 22:06
Speaker 3: mean for that to be the thing that people are
• 22:10
Speaker 3: taking away from this debate, it was a it was
• 22:14
Speaker 3: a bad performance. I'm sorry, and I'm not letting and
• 22:16
Speaker 3: people know how I feel about Donald Trump. Voted for
• 22:18
Speaker 3: him twice, won't again. But that was a really truly
• 22:22
  Speaker 3: bad performance.
• 22:24
Speaker 15: It was very and if you think about all the
• 22:25
Speaker 15: great quotes and presidential debates, you know, whether it's Ronald
• 22:28
Speaker 15: Reagan saying, you know, there you go again, or was
• 22:33
Speaker 15: it that said, uh, you know, no, you're no John Kennedy.
• 22:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, Reagan said about Mondale because there was a lot
• 22:40
Speaker 3: in eighty four there was some talk about Reagan being
• 22:42
Speaker 3: too old, and he said, I will not let age
• 22:44
Speaker 3: be a factor. I will not exploit my opponent's youth,
• 22:48
Speaker 3: which were whether you like Reagan or not. That was
• 22:49
  Speaker 3: a great line.
• 22:51
Speaker 15: All these great lines from from debates in the past,
• 22:54
Speaker 15: and the line you're going to take away from this
• 22:56
Speaker 15: is how to go again?
• 22:57
Speaker 8: Deal there eating the dogs, the people that came in,
• 23:02
Speaker 8: they're eating the cats.
• 23:04
Speaker 15: Yeah, that's what's going to be remembered from this debate.
• 23:06
Speaker 15: But what we should also remember is not just that
• 23:09
Speaker 15: Trump had a historically bad performance, is there's probably the
• 23:12
Speaker 15: strongest debate performance I've ever seen on the part of
• 23:16
Speaker 15: Vice President Harris. I mean, people are saying it is
• 23:19
Speaker 15: the strongest debate performance since you know, nineteen sixty Kennedy
• 23:23
Speaker 15: versus Nixon. I think we're a little bit too young
• 23:26
Speaker 15: to remember that. I've seen clips of it. That was
• 23:28
Speaker 15: a pretty substantial debate. This was too I think in
• 23:33
Speaker 15: this election cycle, a lot of times I think, you know,
• 23:36
Speaker 15: debates don't really move the needle. But I think you've
• 23:38
Speaker 15: had two debates that were monumental. Oh yeah, the first
• 23:42
Speaker 15: debate definitely changed things. We now have a different nominee
• 23:46
Speaker 15: at the top of the ticket, and she came out
• 23:49
Speaker 15: and showed everybody that she's presidential. She is competent, qualified,
• 23:55
Speaker 15: calm under pressure, and just you know, was a was
• 24:00
Speaker 15: really a masterclass in a debate performance. She just laid
• 24:03
Speaker 15: out the traps and he stepped right.
• 24:05
Speaker 3: It would have been Mike, Yeah, I said this earlier
• 24:08
Speaker 3: this week. It would have been so easy for him
• 24:12
Speaker 3: to do better than what he did if he would
• 24:15
Speaker 3: have just but Donald Trump can't help himself. That's the thing.
• 24:18
Speaker 3: He cannot get out of his own way. And when
• 24:22
Speaker 3: his ego, and for anybody that's been around him has
• 24:25
Speaker 3: said this that he has a very he's a very
• 24:27
Speaker 3: shallow when it comes to that. If he feels his
• 24:30
Speaker 3: ego or his manhood or whatever is being challenged, he
• 24:33
Speaker 3: immediately goes on the defense. And it was not a
• 24:36
Speaker 3: good look for him. Had he just, in my opinion,
• 24:39
Speaker 3: if he asked me, had he just not gone off
• 24:42
Speaker 3: the ridiculousness and kept going And you know, back to
• 24:45
Speaker 3: the things he did. Had he just said, let's talk economy,
• 24:49
Speaker 3: because the polls have showed over and over again, this
• 24:52
Speaker 3: is the number one thing people are concerned about. It's
• 24:54
Speaker 3: not the border, it's not even the situation in Israel
• 24:58
Speaker 3: and Gaza. The number one thing is the economy. Now,
• 25:01
Speaker 3: you and I can argue over that, but you would
• 25:03
Speaker 3: agree that had he if you, if you were coaching Trump,
• 25:06
Speaker 3: if if you just said, let's just talk about the economy,
• 25:09
Speaker 3: let's just talk about the things that the average people
• 25:12
Speaker 3: care about, he would have been a heck of a
• 25:14
Speaker 3: lot better, would have been.
• 25:16
Speaker 15: And I'm sure I would imagine that if his coaches
• 25:19
Speaker 15: were probably coaching him to do that. But he has
• 25:22
Speaker 15: shown time and time again that he lacks the self
• 25:24
Speaker 15: discipline to stay on message and instead treats it like
• 25:28
Speaker 15: a rally where you can talk about, you know, people
• 25:31
Speaker 15: eating dogs and cats, so you can talk about, you know,
• 25:34
Speaker 15: giving a legal immigrants, you know, transgender surgery in prison,
• 25:39
Speaker 15: or all the crazy stuff that he said. That might
• 25:41
Speaker 15: play well to people who you know, show up at
• 25:45
Speaker 15: a rally, and that's fewer and fewer people.
• 25:47
Speaker 3: It played well to his base.
• 25:48
Speaker 15: That might play well to the base, but when you're
• 25:50
Speaker 15: talking about you know, sixty million people across the country
• 25:53
Speaker 15: tuning in and seeing deciding who the next president of
• 25:56
Speaker 15: the United States should be. It doesn't play. It comes
• 25:58
  Speaker 15: off as crazy.
• 26:00
Speaker 3: It comes off, and it comes off as making him
• 26:01
Speaker 3: look completely unhinged. Uh for off, which is the way
• 26:04
  Speaker 3: which I mean.
• 26:05
Speaker 15: I've heard some of the uh, you know, the the
• 26:08
Speaker 15: respond and people trying to spin it one way or
• 26:10
Speaker 15: the other. But I don't think there's any other way
• 26:11
Speaker 15: to spin it. There was a clear winner in that debate,
• 26:14
Speaker 15: and I don't think there's any any debate in that.

Speaker 3: Actually, let's go to the phones. Good morning, you're on
• 26:45
  Speaker 3: the air.
• 26:46
Speaker 10: Yes, I got a question from Mike. When was the
• 26:50
Speaker 10: last Democratic nominee that did not win a primary?
• 26:57
Speaker 15: The last Democratic nominee that did it? Well, you know,
• 27:01
Speaker 15: I believe in in UH. You know, in sixty eight
• 27:04
Speaker 15: there was a strange case like that where the where
• 27:06
Speaker 15: the UH sitting president decided not to run. But no,
• 27:10
Speaker 15: this is unprecedented that that the one who the nominee,
• 27:14
Speaker 15: the sitting president decided very late in the game, UH
• 27:19
Speaker 15: to pass the torch on. But we'd had a convention
• 27:24
Speaker 15: and that's where the party nominates our nominee, and the
• 27:27
Speaker 15: party is more united than ever behind Vice President Kamala Harris.
• 27:33
Speaker 15: And she showed us why on Tuesday night. She showed
• 27:35
Speaker 15: us that she is fit to be president. She's been
• 27:38
Speaker 15: the vice president for the past three and a half years.
• 27:41
Speaker 15: She you know, was competent, calm uh, you know, just
• 27:48
Speaker 15: did an excellent job and showed us how how a
• 27:51
Speaker 15: president is supposed to act. Meanwhile, on the other side,
• 27:54
Speaker 15: you had somebody who was completely unglued, ranting about internet
• 28:00
Speaker 15: posts and urban legends and and just only playing to
• 28:04
  Speaker 15: the base.
• 28:05
Speaker 3: Let's let's get back to the caller. Your point of
• 28:08
  Speaker 3: bringing that up.
• 28:08
Speaker 10: Sir, h Well, the people did not elect her to
• 28:15
Speaker 10: be the nominee, but the convention did.
• 28:19
Speaker 15: Well. I can I ask you a question. Did you
• 28:21
Speaker 15: vote in the Democratic primary? Yes, you voted in them
• 28:25
  Speaker 15: Democratic primary.
• 28:27
Speaker 10: Yes, I'm Democrat, but I voted. Yes, I've voted in
• 28:31
Speaker 10: the Democratic primary because they wouldn't let me vote.
• 28:33
Speaker 15: Never public because you're a registered Democrat. Right, Okay, Well,
• 28:37
Speaker 15: I'm glad that you're with us. But I think most
• 28:40
Speaker 15: of the most Democrats that I've talked to are are
• 28:43
Speaker 15: very happy to have her at the top of the ticket.
• 28:45
Speaker 15: We're more united than I've ever seen this party, uh,
• 28:50
Speaker 15: and more enthusiastic and energetic. And I'll tell you that
• 28:53
Speaker 15: our county headquarters across the state have been very busy
• 28:56
Speaker 15: with people coming in for the first time, maybe their
• 28:58
Speaker 15: first time, setting foot county headquarters because they want to
• 29:01
Speaker 15: volunteer and they want to help Democrats. And a lot
• 29:04
Speaker 15: of that is because of the excitement that is being
• 29:07
Speaker 15: generated by the top of the ticket and in the
• 29:09
Speaker 15: candidacy of Kamala Harris.
• 29:12
Speaker 3: To our caller, are you I'm kind of gathering don't
• 29:15
Speaker 3: want to put words in your mouth from but I'm
• 29:17
Speaker 3: kind of gathering that you're not exactly thrilled that Kamala
• 29:19
Speaker 3: Harris is the Democrat nominee.
• 29:22
Speaker 10: That's correct because again, like I said, Trump received hundreds
• 29:29
Speaker 10: and millions of votes across the country in primaries, and
• 29:37
Speaker 10: the vice president did not receive one.
• 29:41
Speaker 15: Well, she received all of the votes from the elected
• 29:46
Speaker 15: delegates to the convention. And here in West Virginia, we
• 29:50
Speaker 15: actually selected our delegates to the convention in a very
• 29:53
Speaker 15: democratic process. We had county conventions where we selected delegates
• 29:57
Speaker 15: to our state convention, and those at the state we
• 30:00
Speaker 15: elected our national delegates to Chicago. And meanwhile, on the
• 30:04
Speaker 15: Republican side, they changed the law during a special session
• 30:08
Speaker 15: this year so they could select their delegates not by
• 30:12
Speaker 15: having county conventions and a state convention, but their executive
• 30:15
Speaker 15: committee did it behind closed doors. So let's see, we
• 30:19
Speaker 15: had a very democratic, open, transparent process, and we entrust
• 30:23
Speaker 15: those delegates that we send to the convention to make
• 30:26
Speaker 15: the right decision. But technically that's where we nominate our
• 30:31
Speaker 15: candidate for president. And I feel we have a pretty
• 30:34
Speaker 15: strong candidate for president and that was very much on
• 30:37
  Speaker 15: display Tuesday night.
• 30:39
Speaker 3: Coler, do you have another statement before we let you
• 30:40
Speaker 3: go because we got another call to get to.
• 30:42
  Speaker 10: Yeah.
• 30:42
  Speaker 7: When we.
• 30:45
Speaker 10: Elected our delegates in the primary, we assumed because they
• 30:51
Speaker 10: were attached to a candidate, the assumption was that they
• 31:01
Speaker 10: were going to be connected to Biden.
• 31:03
Speaker 15: Well that was more than an assumption. That was they
• 31:05
Speaker 15: were pledged to vote for Biden. But when President Biden
• 31:10
Speaker 15: so honorably, you know, put his own personal ambition aside
• 31:15
Speaker 15: and did for the good of the country, in my opinion,
• 31:18
Speaker 15: to protect our Democratic Republic, and stepped aside for a
• 31:22
Speaker 15: stronger candidate, well, those delegates were free to vote for
• 31:26
Speaker 15: whomever they choose because he released his delegates, all right,
• 31:29
Speaker 15: and then we had a convention and we unanimously nominated
• 31:34
Speaker 15: Vice President Kamala Harris because she's the obvious choice, and
• 31:37
Speaker 15: once again she showed that to everybody Tuesday night.
• 31:40
Speaker 3: All Right, Cala, we appreciate that. Twenty two minutes away
• 31:42
Speaker 3: from tam Let's go to another call. Let's talk to
• 31:44
Speaker 3: Ron and Tay's Valley. You're on with the state Democratic
• 31:47
Speaker 3: Party chair and Dell get Mike Pushkin.
• 31:48
Speaker 16: Go ahead, Hey, good morning, Thank you for taking Thank
• 31:52
Speaker 16: you for taking my call.
• 31:54
  Speaker 3: Absolutely.
• 31:55
Speaker 16: Yeah, I would just say that the outcome of that
• 32:01
Speaker 16: debate was determined before it even begun. That was a
• 32:05
Speaker 16: horrible job by ABC News. If you just go and
• 32:10
Speaker 16: think about the first question that she was asked, Hey,
• 32:14
Speaker 16: are you Are the people of America better off today
• 32:17
Speaker 16: than they were four years ago? She did not even
• 32:21
Speaker 16: answer the question, nor was there any accountability to hold
• 32:25
Speaker 16: her to actually answering the question.
• 32:28
  Speaker 7: So, Mike.
• 32:30
Speaker 16: The question, No, that's not why I'm calling. I really
• 32:34
Speaker 16: don't care what you think. If we are my only
• 32:38
Speaker 16: hope would be that the Democratic Party in West Virginia
• 32:42
Speaker 16: never gets power again. If you believe she is the
• 32:45
Speaker 16: right person for the country, she was never asked for.
• 32:50
Speaker 16: It concerns me that you would want her leading the country.
• 32:53
Speaker 16: The fact that she is hidden, the fact that President
• 32:56
Speaker 16: Biden has not been cognitively she was never even asked
• 33:02
Speaker 16: about that. So it for you to say she wanted
• 33:07
Speaker 16: a debate. You're as passionate about her platform and delivery
• 33:13
Speaker 16: as folks that support President Trump. And do I like
• 33:18
Speaker 16: everything President Trump says?
• 33:20
  Speaker 9: No?
• 33:21
Speaker 16: Do I like how he says it all the time?
• 33:23
  Speaker 3: No?
• 33:23
Speaker 16: But do I believe that his policies and his intentions
• 33:28
Speaker 16: are good for the country. Absolutely, So, as you want
• 33:33
Speaker 16: to think, oh it, he speaks to his base. That's
• 33:37
Speaker 16: all she does is speaks to the Democratic base. So
• 33:43
Speaker 16: you know there is a difference of opinion. And just
• 33:46
Speaker 16: because you said as the Democratic Party chairman on the
• 33:49
Speaker 16: radio doesn't make you the perfect person to say she
• 33:55
Speaker 16: should be the next president because you're as biased as
• 33:58
Speaker 16: someone is as passionate about President that Trump or conservative value.
• 34:02
Speaker 3: We appreciate your phone call.
• 34:04
Speaker 15: Nobody's perfect, and I'd never claimed to be. But I
• 34:07
Speaker 15: think any people in the middle who watch that debate,
• 34:10
Speaker 15: I don't think how they could come to any other conclusions.
• 34:13
Speaker 15: Let me let me finish for a second.
• 34:16
Speaker 3: Go ahead and interrupt me.
• 34:16
Speaker 15: Go ahead, nook ahead, Yeah, get go ahead. I was
• 34:18
Speaker 15: going to answer your question, Well, go ahead, yeah.
• 34:21
Speaker 16: So do you think she's aware or has been aware
• 34:24
Speaker 16: President Biden's cognitive decline over the past couple of years,
• 34:29
Speaker 16: and do you think she's hitting that from the American people?
• 34:32
Speaker 15: I think that the job that they have done has
• 34:36
Speaker 15: shown that he is capable. I'm answering your question.
• 34:39
Speaker 16: Okay, cool, that's typical spin. You're just like her. You
• 34:42
Speaker 16: don't want to answer the question. You want to put
• 34:45
Speaker 16: your own context around something.
• 34:47
Speaker 15: Well, there's a fact of life that people do get older,
• 34:50
Speaker 15: and he is. He has gotten older obviously since he
• 34:52
Speaker 15: was first elected. However, the job that he has done,
• 34:55
Speaker 15: would you let me finish for a second, the job
• 34:56
Speaker 15: that he has done, showing he's more than capable of
• 34:58
Speaker 15: doing the job. Do you know where we were four
• 35:01
Speaker 15: years ago? We're in the midst of a pandemic because
• 35:04
Speaker 15: we had an incredibly irresponsible, irresponsible president the helm who
• 35:09
Speaker 15: did not do a very good job in responding to
• 35:12
Speaker 15: the pandemic. So our economy was in the tank stretch,
• 35:17
Speaker 15: not a stretch at all. Who was the president four
• 35:19
Speaker 15: years ago? Truck and our country was ravaged by this pandemic.
• 35:23
Speaker 15: What did he do when he got in there? He
• 35:25
Speaker 15: fired Obama's pandemic response team.
• 35:28
  Speaker 3: That's a fact.
• 35:28
  Speaker 15: That's not a stretch.
• 35:30
Speaker 3: Let the call a fan stritch.
• 35:32
Speaker 16: You didn't answer the question. The question was do you
• 35:36
Speaker 16: think she was aware? And she is hidden the fact
• 35:39
Speaker 16: that she was aware of his cognitive decline and she's
• 35:42
Speaker 16: kicked that from the American people. You want to use
• 35:45
Speaker 16: the platform just to talk about your agenda and your
• 35:50
Speaker 16: thoughts on something. The question was do you think she
• 35:55
Speaker 16: was aware of his decline? And she is hidden it
• 35:58
Speaker 16: from the American people.
• 35:59
Speaker 15: No, I don't believe she is heading I'm answering it.
• 36:02
Speaker 15: She hasn't hidden anything.
• 36:03
  Speaker 16: Yes she was.
• 36:05
Speaker 3: It's clearly I'm gonna say, I'm gonna have to agree
• 36:07
Speaker 3: with the caller on this one.
• 36:08
  Speaker 15: I don't agree with the caller. I don't believe that
• 36:10
Speaker 15: she that she's covered up anything. That the job, the
• 36:13
Speaker 15: proof is in the pudding and.
• 36:15
Speaker 16: It never ever get the chance to have leadership at
• 36:23
  Speaker 16: a gubernatorial web.
• 36:26
Speaker 3: All right, we appreciate your phone call. Thanks a lot.

• 36:40
Speaker 3: Tex says, Wow, the party knows better than the voters.
• 36:42

• 36:46
Speaker 3: got to take a break. I got a caller standing by.

  Speaker 15: Yeah, I just I don't feel like I had a
• 38:54
Speaker 15: chance to respond, so thanks for giving me this opportunity.
• 38:56
Speaker 15: Dave to the previous caller talking about you know, Biden's
• 39:01
Speaker 15: you know, the state of Biden's health. Yeah, it's a
• 39:03
Speaker 15: fact of life. He is getting older. He's not the
• 39:06
Speaker 15: same president he was when he was first elected four
• 39:10
Speaker 15: years ago. However, if you look at the job that
• 39:12
Speaker 15: has been done by the Biden Harris administration and even
• 39:15
Speaker 15: how it's affected West Virginia with monumental legislation. During their
• 39:19
Speaker 15: first two years in office, when they had the ability
• 39:21
Speaker 15: to actually pass things through a Democratic Senate and a
• 39:24
Speaker 15: Democratic House of Representatives, they passed the American Rescue Plan
• 39:28
Speaker 15: that was actually able to get money directly to municipalities
• 39:31
Speaker 15: and counties to bring us out of the COVID pandemic
• 39:34
Speaker 15: that the previous president was so irresponsible about, which, let
• 39:38
Speaker 15: you know, put our economy into the tank. Or if
• 39:41
Speaker 15: you look at the Pact Act that actually acknowledged what,
• 39:44
Speaker 15: you know, some problems we had twenty years ago with
• 39:46
Speaker 15: Agent Orange and actually helped our current veterans who are
• 39:50
Speaker 15: struggling with what's happened with the burn pits over over
• 39:53
Speaker 15: in our you know, in our wars the of this century.
• 39:57
Speaker 15: Whether it's the infrastructure that Donald Trump only talked about
• 40:01
Speaker 15: every other week, but it wasn't actually able to get
• 40:04
Speaker 15: done through that, You've seen tons of investment come into
• 40:06
Speaker 15: West Virginia that's been able to lay the groundwork to
• 40:10
Speaker 15: bring in some of this good economic news, whether it's
• 40:13
Speaker 15: from new corese Steel or Form Energy or Green Motors,
• 40:18
Speaker 15: which you know, the Republicans in West Virginia, like Jim
• 40:21
Speaker 15: Justice so wrongly try to take credit for when it
• 40:24
Speaker 15: actually most of the work was done in Congress and
• 40:28
Speaker 15: with the help of Vice President Harris, who was the
• 40:30
Speaker 15: deciding vote on a lot of this legislation that has
• 40:33
Speaker 15: created this incentive to to make these investments in West Virginia.
• 40:38
Speaker 15: They deserve a lot of the credit. So yeah, I
• 40:40
  Speaker 15: think they've done a good job and it's and it's
• 40:43
Speaker 15: helped us here in West Virginia. And you want to
• 40:45
  Speaker 15: talk about.
• 40:46
Speaker 3: Ba I want to go to the college.
• 40:48
Speaker 15: Okay, Well, let me say, did you see the exchange
• 40:50
Speaker 15: that he had with the Trump with a Trump supporter
• 40:52
Speaker 15: at the at the firehouse on September eleventh. He was
• 40:55
Speaker 15: able to have this lighthearted exchange with the Trump supporter.
• 40:59
Speaker 15: Now think about if that was what have happened in
• 41:01
Speaker 15: Putin's Russia. You allowed to have a lighthearted exchange with
• 41:04
Speaker 15: Vladimir Putin. What about Victor Orbon that Trump idolizes. He
• 41:08
Speaker 15: allowed to have a lighthearted exchange with Victor Orbon? Would
• 41:11
Speaker 15: you be allowed to have a lighthearted exchange with Donald Trump?
• 41:13
Speaker 15: And that's what's at stake here.
• 41:15
Speaker 3: All right, let's go to the phones. Tommy, you're on
• 41:17
Speaker 3: with Delegate Pushkin. Go ahead.
• 41:21
Speaker 7: Everybody has lighthearted exchanges with Donald Trump all the time.
• 41:26
Speaker 7: But the real reason I'm calling is nineteen fifty two,
• 41:31
Speaker 7: the Democratic Convention, Adli Stevenson, who was governor of Illinois,
• 41:39
Speaker 7: was nominated for the presidency because of conflicts. He was
• 41:44
Speaker 7: the compromise candidate. And that's the last time a guy
• 41:49
Speaker 7: didn't run in primaries at all and got nominated by
• 41:54
  Speaker 7: either major party.
• 41:56
Speaker 3: All right, thank you, go ahead.
• 41:59
Speaker 7: And I can't wait to vote for Williams for governor.
• 42:07
  Speaker 15: I think he's a great candidate.
• 42:09
  Speaker 13: And is it.
• 42:10
  Speaker 9: Yeah.
• 42:10
Speaker 15: The news yesterday was that he asked thank you very
• 42:13
Speaker 15: much for the call, and that Steve Williams, the mayor
• 42:17
Speaker 15: of Huntington, had called for a debate with the Attorney
• 42:20
Speaker 15: General Morrissey, and Morrissey accepted that debate. I think we're
• 42:23
Speaker 15: going to be seeing a televised debate between those two
• 42:27
Speaker 15: candidates here soon, and that's great for the people of
• 42:29
  Speaker 15: West Virginia.
• 42:30
Speaker 3: Let me knock out a bunch of texts here him justice.
• 42:32
Speaker 15: She had agree to debate Glenn Ellie.
• 42:34
Speaker 3: The text says the eating pet lie straight out of
• 42:36
Speaker 3: neo Nazi propagandat Christopher Paul Halls, leader of the neo
• 42:40
Speaker 3: Nazi blood Trip, started this. Why did the Republican candidate
• 42:42
Speaker 3: for president so easily accept vile Nazi lies? Says a Texter.
• 42:49
Speaker 3: She didn't win the debate, Trump lost it. She was
• 42:50
Speaker 3: also helped by the moderators and didn't really answer the
• 42:53
Speaker 3: questions they did in fact check her on anything. I look,
• 42:57
Speaker 3: I had an issue in Coop and I talked about
• 42:59
Speaker 3: this too. I've got an issue with real time fact
• 43:02
Speaker 3: checking because when there are a lot of myths, truths,
• 43:06
Speaker 3: and sometimes not always lies, but just half true things
• 43:10
Speaker 3: that are left out, and both candidates did that the
• 43:12
Speaker 3: other night. Well hold on, let me finish, let me finish.
• 43:16
Speaker 3: And I've thought I'd ran down the entire list from
• 43:19
Speaker 3: nonpartisan sources about things that she didn't maybe didn't tell
• 43:23
Speaker 3: the entire truth on okay, So, but if Trump was
• 43:28
Speaker 3: telling more half truths or more lies or whatever, you
• 43:31
Speaker 3: can't possibly make it equal. And so I in this

Speaker 3: crap about the ABC people being connected and her having
• 43:40
Speaker 3: an earpiece that's been debunked. It's been debunked over and
• 43:43
Speaker 3: over again, but people don't want to hear it. I
• 43:45
Speaker 3: just don't. I'm not crazy about the real time fact
• 43:47
Speaker 3: checking because in a situation like that, you can't always
• 43:51
Speaker 3: keep up with it.
• 43:52
Speaker 15: Let me see, I thought they did a good job
• 43:54
Speaker 15: with that, and I think that it wasn't. They just
• 43:56
Speaker 15: simply stated the fact that's not true.
• 43:59
Speaker 3: But there was no in many cases then.
• 44:01
Speaker 15: And that doesn't happen enough with Donald Trump, and he's
• 44:04
Speaker 15: able to repeat these lies, and he does a fire
• 44:06
Speaker 15: hose of lies where he says so many lies that
• 44:08
Speaker 15: it's really hard to keep track of him. And you know,
• 44:11
Speaker 15: kudos to them for actually pointing it out. Texas, American
• 44:15
Speaker 15: people deserve to hear the truth, not just his his
• 44:18
Speaker 15: version of it that he can say at a rally
• 44:20
Speaker 15: full of supporters and they can cheer, but it's just
• 44:23
  Speaker 15: simply not true.
• 44:24
Speaker 3: Tex says, I'm so much better off now than when
• 44:26
Speaker 3: Trump was in charge. Like I've said before, learn how
• 44:28
Speaker 3: to read a stock chart. Tex says, now, Mike can
• 44:32
Speaker 3: sell that snake of all about Harris. But Biden didn't
• 44:34
Speaker 3: step down. He was pushed out, and Pelosi and Obama
• 44:38
Speaker 3: were the pushers, says a Texter. Tex says, Dave, are
• 44:41
Speaker 3: Trump supporters aware of his cognitive decline and they're covering
• 44:44
Speaker 3: it up. There's definitely cognitive decline to have Donald Trump.
• 44:48
Speaker 15: I mean, I mean that's after the poor debate for performance.
• 44:51
Speaker 15: And by the way, the day after uh, you know,
• 44:55
Speaker 15: Biden's poor debate performance. I was on a lot of
• 44:57
Speaker 15: the right leaning radio shows and as Virginia called, wanted
• 45:01
Speaker 15: me to come on and talk about it, and I did,
• 45:03
Speaker 15: and I didn't try to spin it any other way.
• 45:06
Speaker 15: He had a really bad night and that's what I
• 45:08
  Speaker 15: said then.
• 45:08
Speaker 3: And it is then the questions came out, well maybe
• 45:13
Speaker 3: he should step aside, Well, why aren't we saying the
• 45:15
Speaker 3: same thing about Donald Trump?
• 45:16
Speaker 15: Because he's definitely in cognitive decline.
• 45:19
  Speaker 3: I'm not.
• 45:22
Speaker 15: If he was ever there to begin with, but well,
• 45:23
Speaker 15: I think that the stuff that he's been doing all
• 45:25
Speaker 15: along is just getting more and more tired, and people
• 45:27
Speaker 15: are tired of hearing this airing of grievances that goes
• 45:31
Speaker 15: on instead of actually debating facts. It's all about him.
• 45:34
Speaker 15: And that's what something that Harris said that really hit home.
• 45:37
Speaker 15: He doesn't talk about you. He talks about himself. It's
• 45:39
Speaker 15: always about these grievances against him. You go to his rallies.
• 45:43
Speaker 15: One thing you don't hear about is you. You hear about
• 45:45
Speaker 15: Donald Trump, and that's we want a leader that puts

Speaker 3: Uh, Tex says, what is the point in calling in,
• 49:08
Speaker 3: Dave when your guest just talks over the caller? Why
• 49:10
Speaker 3: are you talking over callers? Michael?
• 49:12
Speaker 15: Uh? You know I believe that I tried to get

Speaker 3: Then Texas, I'd vote for Pushkin as governor. He has

• 49:43
Speaker 15: I'm sorry, Yeah, I get to deal with him. No,
• 49:46
Speaker 15: I was speaking of that. We we had a call
• 49:48
Speaker 15: for a special session, but just you know, in in
• 49:51
Speaker 15: in Jim Justice fashion, uh, there was no work done
• 49:54
Speaker 15: ahead of time. He did not build a consensus at
• 49:57
Speaker 15: all with the legislature on this, so it could be
• 50:00
Speaker 15: a real disaster and the taxpayer is going to be
• 50:03
Speaker 15: on the hook for it when we have this special session.
• 50:05
Speaker 15: So he's called for an extra cut to the income tax,
• 50:10
Speaker 15: even that we've already done that based on economic triggers,
• 50:13
Speaker 15: I feel that we should add a trigger in there
• 50:15
Speaker 15: to once we find placement for all the six thousand
• 50:17
Speaker 15: children in foster care, for every single one of them,
• 50:20
Speaker 15: maybe that could trigger another tax cut. Of course, Jim
• 50:24
Speaker 15: Justice doesn't really care about tax cuts because he doesn't
• 50:26
Speaker 15: pay taxes anyway, it's gonna have no effect on him.
• 50:30
Speaker 15: I'm always interested hearing about how we could possibly put
• 50:33
Speaker 15: money back in the taxpayer's pocket. That's great. What's interesting
• 50:36
Speaker 15: to me, though, is he's got you know, the Uh,
• 50:40
Speaker 15: he's got Republican controlled House, Republican controlled Senate, but still
• 50:44
Speaker 15: can't seem to build a consensus to even pass a
• 50:46
Speaker 15: tax cut. I said, how's he going to get along
• 50:49
Speaker 15: in one hundred member Senate?
• 50:51
Speaker 3: Yesterday on the show, I be able to do. I
• 50:52
Speaker 3: had sent a financier, Eery Tar on the show, and
• 50:54
Speaker 3: he's been one. I know you and mister Tarr he
• 50:56
Speaker 3: probably couldn't agree where to have lunch, but uh, there
• 50:59
Speaker 3: are he and Blair and Hanshaw have have some real,
• 51:03
Speaker 3: real concerns about this tax plan.
• 51:06
Speaker 15: Well, the governor needs to do the work and actually
• 51:08
  Speaker 15: and that's I know it's a foreign word to him,
• 51:10
Speaker 15: to actually do work, but he and actually build a
• 51:13
Speaker 15: consensus before you call a special session and have your
• 51:15
Speaker 15: ducks in a row. He didn't do that. Now he's
• 51:17
Speaker 15: paid lip service to childcare. We have a childcare crisis
• 51:21
Speaker 15: throughout the country. It was a it was a topic
• 51:23
Speaker 15: of the debate the other night. You know, Trump gave
• 51:26
Speaker 15: a really weird answer on it. The other day when
• 51:28
Speaker 15: he was at the New York Economic Club, Say, and
• 51:31
Speaker 15: he started talking about tariffs because he has no clue
• 51:33
Speaker 15: what to talk about when it comes to childcare, and
• 51:35
Speaker 15: unfortunately neither does Governor Justice and it's affecting West Virginians
• 51:39
Speaker 15: at a greater level than is the rest of the country.
• 51:41
Speaker 15: Every day we're getting bad news of childcare agens. He's
• 51:44
Speaker 15: closing up because they're not able to pay the bills,
• 51:47
Speaker 15: and that's the problem.
• 51:48
Speaker 3: Say, throwing more money at it is not the is
• 51:51
Speaker 3: not the answer. That's what he said on the show.
• 51:52
Speaker 15: That's not the only answer, but that's a big part
• 51:54
Speaker 15: of it. We have to it's something. It is the
• 51:57
Speaker 15: economic issue that drives all other economic and workforce issues.
• 52:02
Speaker 15: If people don't have a place to bring their young,
• 52:07
Speaker 15: young children to go to work, they're not gonna be
• 52:09
Speaker 15: able to go to work. So we do have to
• 52:10
Speaker 15: do something about and a simple tax credit isn't going
• 52:13
Speaker 15: to do it. You know, Delegate Young did the math
• 52:15
Speaker 15: and show that's only about two or three hundred dollars
• 52:18
  Speaker 15: a year.
• 52:19
Speaker 3: Sull Be on the show next Tuesday.
• 52:20
Speaker 15: I asked her about it, and that's only going to
• 52:22
Speaker 15: pay for about a week of childcare out of the year.
• 52:24
Speaker 15: That doesn't fix the problem. You have to address the
• 52:26
Speaker 15: accessibility issues that to be able to help keep these
• 52:29
Speaker 15: places open so they're able to take care of our kids.
• 52:32
