- 0:00SPEAKER_04: Hi, welcome to Travis Holes Podcast.
- 0:02SPEAKER_04: I am Ryan.
- 0:02SPEAKER_04: I'm here with Lawrence and Michael, aka Spanky.
- 0:07SPEAKER_04: Low technical difficulties in the beginning.
- 0:09SPEAKER_04: Streamy, I didn't want to play us.
- 0:10SPEAKER_04: The spirits are trying to make us not talk tonight, but we're going to talk anyways.
- 0:14SPEAKER_04: Welcome to the show.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: Thanks for having us, Ryan.
- 0:18SPEAKER_04: Thank you, Ryan.
- 0:19SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 0:19SPEAKER_04: So they're down in Florida, the Florida Bureau of Investigation.
- 0:23SPEAKER_04: How many are actually in your group?
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: We've got uh a crew of about 10 right now of really solid folks.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: Uh one good thing about our team is that we all are of like mind and uh all just meld really well together.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Uh and and uh we've got a pretty good group, wouldn't you say, Spank?
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: Yes, sir.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yes, sir.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Very and and I want to say our group is a little bit older too.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 0:52SPEAKER_04: Do you think that helps?
- 0:53SPEAKER_04: I mean it helps with the knowledge and the maturity.
- 0:56SPEAKER_04: I guess you want, I don't want to say maturity because maybe 30 maybe mature, but like how you go about investigating.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: Um I I do I do think that because of our age, our minds are a little we've just experienced more, I guess, and I think that we're a little bit more open-minded than a lot of folks.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: Uh I don't know if that's a good way to put it, but uh I just think we've experienced more, so we're we're open to understand there's more out there that we don't understand.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: Make sense.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: What do you think?
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: I and and and we do have some younger people too, but uh I I think with with our group the like-mindedness of everything we're we're we're focused on finding facts and and uh not not as a hobby.
- 1:52SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:53SPEAKER_04: So let's get in that.
- 1:54SPEAKER_04: So why do you investigate the paranormal?
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: You want to go first, Speck, or you want me to go ahead.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Well, uh, you know, I'm a retired cop.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: Uh most of my career was either spent in criminal investigations or training.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: Uh and investigative-wise, this is the one of the greatest mysteries of all mankind, isn't it?
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: And uh had some things happen to me over the years that have made me want to unravel this mystery, and that's why I do it.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm truly looking for the answers uh up to what it is that we're experiencing.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: For me, it it didn't start till what I was probably in my 30s or 40s that I even started thinking about the paranormal.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: How I started was uh dinner in a ghost hunt that Larry was putting on, and my wife dragged me there and walked in the door, and it was like Larry, and he was like spanky.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: Well, we you gotta tell everybody how we knew each other.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: We knew each other.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Uh, we we both were instructors or worked at the local college.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: He was on the police side, I was on the fire side, and we knew each other from there, and then when we seen each other later on now, um that night changed me.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: He put me with a good group.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Um, I started with some dowsing rods that I did not believe in at all, and I was the girl that was uh instructing me said had told me I was a natural addict.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: We were getting answers all night long, and it I kind of got hooked.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: And next thing you know, a few months, a few months later, I was on the team.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: So, but did you have one thing that happened that night that really sent you over?
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: Because it was funny because yeah, he walks in, it's like, Larry, are you doing this?
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: And I said, Specky, what are you doing here?
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: And he he was really a skeptic.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: Uh got him, I think it was Sherry's group, wasn't it, you're in?
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: And and the Robertsons.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: And and what what changed us was uh changed for me was a couple things.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: We were at this small library in Fellsmere, and during the during the Dowsen Rods, they we were just getting all kinds of answers to the questions, and then we went to this old school, and while in the school, we were in more or less a fear cage, and the lady standing next to me got scratched, and I know she was right next to me, nobody touched her, and she got scratched, and we went outside.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Sure enough, she had scratch marks on her leg, and I was like, there's something to this, I need to know.
- 4:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was a little cool in the northwest part of Indianora County.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: Uh it's it's one of the one of the more unknown places in Florida, and it's one of the most fun.
- 5:11SPEAKER_03: And uh so I used to do a lot of two presentations out there that's respecting it.
- 5:16SPEAKER_03: And uh we're a pure paranormal investigation that we actually got that uh 2010.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: About 17 I came on.
- 5:34SPEAKER_04: Okay, that's a that's a good amount of years there because I mean a lot of groups, you know, they just created groups two or three years ago.
- 5:41SPEAKER_04: Like me, I've been investigating for 19 years, but my group's only year and a half, two years old.
- 5:47SPEAKER_04: So I mean, yeah, I got the experience, so-called experience, whatever you want to call it.
- 5:53SPEAKER_04: But you know, my group is still relatively new, and a lot of groups are like that to have a group from 2010, and you're talking 16 years, that's like veteran status in paranormal groups.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we've but we've been actively investigating since uh 2010, 2011, and that in that area.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: I've been investigating since 2008 myself, but we created the group in the in like I said around 2010, late 2010, or late 2011.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: And uh we've we've changed like everybody else.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: You get people that come and go, you know, life gets in the way.
- 6:25SPEAKER_02: But our group now spanking, I think most of us have been together now, it's probably six to eight years.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: Six to eight years, yeah, for for a lot of us.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: Um you know, uh, and I we got a tight group, and I hate to tell everybody this, and I just hate to admit it, but I got the best team out there.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: It's just the way it is.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: I've got to tell you.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: We get along so well, and that's one of the great things that we really work on when we do bring somebody new, they've got to they've got to be able to meld with us.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: You know, there's no there's no uh superstars on here.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: There's we're all working together for the same goal.
- 7:01SPEAKER_04: I mean, my group's a little different, I guess.
- 7:03SPEAKER_04: I mean, I got the best group out there because you know it's me.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: You got second best.
- 7:11SPEAKER_04: I mean, I have other members, they like you said, life gets in a way.
- 7:14SPEAKER_04: You got kids, you got jobs, you got family.
- 7:17SPEAKER_04: Um, then you get around my age where you're taking care of your parents.
- 7:21SPEAKER_04: So, I mean, life gets in a way.
- 7:23SPEAKER_04: Um, so pretty much my group is me.
- 7:25SPEAKER_04: Then I invite some people.
- 7:27SPEAKER_04: If they can make it, they can make it.
- 7:29SPEAKER_04: It's not a big deal.
- 7:30SPEAKER_04: But luckily, doing this podcast, I meet a lot of great people and they invite me places, so I can still go investigate.
- 7:36SPEAKER_04: And that's what I love about doing a podcast, is because I get to meet other people, go out with them and learn.
- 7:43SPEAKER_04: Because I think Spanky said the question is what keeps driving us.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: And and I think there's some groups out there that I call them, and there's this sounds derogatory, but it's not meant to paranormal thrill seekers.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: And these are guys that and gals that like to go out on the weekends, hear the bump in the night that they get the EVP, and they go on with the rest of their lives after that.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: And and it's not something that where they collect the evidence, they try to analyze it, and that's cool.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: Every you know, why do people jump out of perfectly good airplanes, you know, for a thrill?
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: I I I wouldn't do it, but people do it for fun, and people do this, I think, for fun also.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: Our group tends to take it a lot more, not that others don't take it seriously, but we are truly in it to find answers, right?
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: I mean, with these thrill seekers, and I had Adam Kimmel on here earlier, and he said some stuff about it.
- 8:37SPEAKER_04: Is that you know those thrill seekers can go out on a weekend, get a couple EVPs, then you have people like us that go out all the time, but that thrill seeker might actually get the answer that we're looking for.
- 8:52SPEAKER_04: So every every group is important.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Absolutely, that's what I'm saying.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: There's no there's nothing wrong with being a thrill seeker at all.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: Um, except maybe you know, it when it comes to their evidence, if they get something, will it be something that the rest of us can look at and compare with what we have to maybe solidify the answer?
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: That would be my only kick with that, but there's certainly nothing wrong with that, and I encourage that.
- 9:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, we'll talk about two TV shows, um, YouTube shows not popping up, and everybody laughs at it.
- 9:27SPEAKER_04: But again, that drove people to investigate, yeah.
- 9:32SPEAKER_04: Like you got your Zach Bagans who's loony as shit, you know, you know, for whatever reason, you know, possessed and crazy, and no one really takes him serious.
- 9:43SPEAKER_04: Well, he could have drove us to start investigating, which we could have find the answer.
- 9:49SPEAKER_04: So, in the long run, we're all important, even the entertainers are important in this field, and that's what people gotta look at.
- 9:58SPEAKER_04: People want to make fun of these TV shows.
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: But why'd you start investigating?
- 10:02SPEAKER_04: Because I watch TV shows.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: Okay, agreed.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: That's that's how it started, and that's that's what put it in the forefront, uh and made it acceptable socially.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: I mean, in my business, man, you talked about you saw uh you know something, a full-binded apparition, and you talked about it out loud and openly.
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: Your boss sent you for a you know, fit-for-duty psyche valve.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: Nowadays, agencies talk about it regularly.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: I love mentioning, and I think I've told you about it, Spanky, Honolulu PD.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: They did an entire YouTube series of paranormal experiences their officers had on duty in their station houses on uh on the road, all kinds of things, and they put it out there.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: And 20 years ago, you wouldn't have seen that.
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: So it has helped bring it to the forefront.
- 10:50SPEAKER_04: All right, let's talk.
- 10:51SPEAKER_04: Spakey's a firefighter, you're a cop.
- 10:54SPEAKER_04: So, as a cop, you've probably seen stuff that you couldn't explain, and that probably had a you know issue with you because you know, proof beyond reasonable doubt.
- 11:05SPEAKER_04: That's what you're all about.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 11:07SPEAKER_04: Then when you don't have it, it probably drove you crazy a little bit.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: Uh and it spanky's had the same thing.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah.
- 11:18SPEAKER_02: Of course, you know, uh, was gonna tell a an armchair joke, Spanky, but I won't, don't worry.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: But um, you know, you know how you can tell uh when a when a firefighter's died, don't don't you, Ryan?
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: When the game when the game control falls off out of his hand when he's sitting on the uh easy chair.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: It's okay.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: I I had to get the first one in, Spanky.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: I had to get the first one.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I mean go ahead I believe my the background of being a firefighter, and a lot of people don't know how much we need to know about building construction and all the things of cars and and woods fires and things of the that nature.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: I'm able to debunk a lot of things that that are happening at some of these places, especially in an attic spaces and things of that and wiring and and things of that nature.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's been great at that too.
- 12:21SPEAKER_04: That's what you said.
- 12:22SPEAKER_04: Your group is, you know, wide, vast, but all like-minded, but you know, spanky, knowing, you know, the structure of the building.
- 12:31SPEAKER_04: You know, you can probably look at you know, floor joist and saying, okay, well, that's not right.
- 12:37SPEAKER_04: So that's probably why it's creaking.
- 12:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:39SPEAKER_04: Stuff like that.
- 12:40SPEAKER_04: So I mean, it all comes together, you know, with 10 of you, or whoever's going out, that you guys can come, okay.
- 12:47SPEAKER_04: This is paranormal, this is BS.
- 12:51SPEAKER_04: You know, this is just wood or wiring or whatever you want to call it.
- 12:56SPEAKER_04: You know, that's what's causing it.
- 12:58SPEAKER_04: So no, that's great.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: So I mean you're for instance, we had a situation where the some of the mon electronic monitors were going off on the floor.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Well, come to find out, that's where the power source was.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: It it was ran under the floor, not in the walls.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: And we were able to debunk everything there.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, his his knowledge of construction has been huge in an investigation because it really allows us to then concentrate on the stuff we can't explain, and we don't have to worry about those other little things because his knowledge has uh has solved that, debunked those issues, and it's been a huge help.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: And then there's times where we have no idea, we'll just go, okay, that was real.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: Don't know what it is, how it happened, what they said, but that was real.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: How about that time at the house in Fort Pierce when we were using the portal and we heard the gunshots?
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, we we've been running a portal, it's an old house built in Florida.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: When you talk about a house built uh pre-1900, you're talking ancient in Florida because we're a new state, and we were in this house and we had a the portal going.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: Had the Spanky had some particularly crazy things happen, but suddenly with the portal going, we start hearing a pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, boom, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: What three or four minutes, Spanky?
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: It went out at least, at least.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: And one thing I could tell, I know what a gunshot sounds like.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: And this this was a gunfight, we heard, and it went on for like three minutes and then it stopped.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: Dead.
- 14:43SPEAKER_02: Poor choice of words, but you get the point.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: Uh, it just it just completely stopped.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: And we could not for the life of this, there was no logical explanation for it at all.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: Um, did some research in the area.
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: We can't find and can't find anything that would have caused it.
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: Now we did have the um the seminal wars back in the mid-18 1800s, mid to late 1800s that occurred in that area.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: Was that residual from that?
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: We don't know, but it was a pretty, pretty fascinating event.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: But we could not figure that out.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: Even with Spanky's background, we couldn't figure it out.
- 15:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:17SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's the whole thing, though.
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: It's like you guys said you guys take everything into consideration.
- 15:23SPEAKER_04: It could be the floor joys, could be the wiring, could be this, could be that.
- 15:26SPEAKER_04: And once you push all that aside, then what do you have?
- 15:32SPEAKER_04: You know, the unknown.
- 15:33SPEAKER_04: Is it the paranormal?
- 15:35SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 15:36SPEAKER_04: I mean, I'm more I'm not skeptic, but I like throwing everything out there first.
- 15:42SPEAKER_04: And when you have the unknown done, the paranormal, then the issue is can you prove it?
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: Well, do we really know, Ryan?
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: Question for you.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: Do we really know without question what a ghost is, as we call it?
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: Do we really know what that is?
- 16:00SPEAKER_04: I mean, there's some on Facebook that know everything.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Ah, that's the problem.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: No, there are no experts.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: So there's nobody out there that has yet.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, you can't say that.
- 16:09SPEAKER_04: There's so many experts out there, you're just not looking.
- 16:13SPEAKER_04: Sorry, sorry.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: In my opinion, in my uneducated opinion, nobody knows the complete answer yet.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: And and once we start realizing that and we start working together to try and find that answer, we're gonna get further, right?
- 16:30SPEAKER_04: Uh exactly.
- 16:33SPEAKER_04: I mean, I put that out there the other day on Facebook.
- 16:35SPEAKER_04: The only thing we know in the paranormal field is that we don't know.
- 16:39SPEAKER_04: Well said, Yeah, and I got kickback on it.
- 16:43SPEAKER_04: Well, I know.
- 16:44SPEAKER_04: Well, okay, well, let me know what you know.
- 16:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the only thing I know is you're full of shit.
- 16:49SPEAKER_04: I mean, sorry to be blunt, but don't hold back, right?
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: Tell us how you really know.
- 16:55SPEAKER_04: That's it.
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's but that, but that's a huge problem.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: We've got to realize, like you said, we we the only thing we know is what we don't know, and nobody knows the real answer yet.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Now, I have my personal opinions, but you you hit it right on the head.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: I'm a cop.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: I have to have tangible evidence, tangible evidence that I can take to court and prove to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt that this crime committed, this crime committed, this person committed the crime.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: We can't do that yet.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: Yes, I know, I think I know what it is, but could it be a dimensional issue?
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: Could it be the power of our own minds?
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: And that's and that's something that few people have really started examining yet.
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: You know, uh, Spanky, he is terrific, unbelievable, the dowsing rides.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: And and I say that because he'll get answers that are then cooperated through history, other pieces of equipment, uh, other methods.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: So I know his stuff's accurate, but do we know for sure is it the other side speaking to Spanky, or is it the power of his own brain, his own energy that's doing it?
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: We don't know for sure.
- 18:02SPEAKER_04: No, we don't.
- 18:03SPEAKER_04: I mean, and that was the main thing for me posting that.
- 18:06SPEAKER_04: I'm sick of people saying I know.
- 18:08SPEAKER_04: How about I believe or I think?
- 18:12SPEAKER_04: Those are better choice of words because we don't know.
- 18:16SPEAKER_04: And you know, I believe this is an EVP, and I never call any I do call it evidence, but I like to call it interesting.
- 18:26SPEAKER_04: Okay, listen to this, it's interesting, it's not evidence.
- 18:30SPEAKER_04: Like if I put that in front of a jury, are all of them gonna say that's evidence?
- 18:36SPEAKER_04: No, everybody's gonna hear something different.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: That's what EVPs are.
- 18:40SPEAKER_04: So yeah, like you said, when we when we start opening our mind up and realize that we don't know, we'll get farther in this field.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: And we've all got to come together in order to understand that and come together to work for the greater good.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: There's too many folks out there.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: Well, this is my evidence, or this is my uh uh my venue, and and I do this right, and nobody else does it right.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: We gotta get away from that, and we've got to all understand that we're all in the same boat, we've got to pull together, we've got to work together for if we're gonna get anywhere.
- 19:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean the issue is is we're humans, you know, in human nature, we want to be the one, yeah, yeah.
- 19:22SPEAKER_04: And that's just human nature, yeah.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Also, like you, policemen.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay, okay.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: It didn't take a while, but you finally got to come back there.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 19:32SPEAKER_04: Shots shots fired, it's all good.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: But I did I did want to bring up a situation where we had really good collaboration between equipment.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: We were doing a dowsing rod session, and we brought out the SLS camera.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: At the same time, we were doing an Estus method with someone in another room, and as we were asking the questions, we had a stick figure actually grabbing the rods and answering yes and no, and the person that was on the headphones was saying the same answer all at the same time.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: What was this mate?
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Where was that?
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: That was the one the uh in Sebastian here.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: Where in Sebastian, that little the little place with the two-story.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: You weren't there, I don't think.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: You were in the other room.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, was it the was it the um uh Beyond Useless boutique?
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: It used to be an ice cream shop or something, or a coffee shop, the coffee shop.
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay, yes, the coffee shop.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: That was that was actually in uh District Sebastian, yeah.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: Okay, and and we had all three collaborating.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: And and Larry, why don't you bring up our other special person we bring in?
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: Ah, Christopher Huff.
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: Now, Ryan, as a cop, I know you'll appreciate this.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: Mediums were a medium was a very tough thing for me to embrace people that with that ability.
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: I mean, working a homicide, I would get mediums calling or another kind of case, mediums would call and say this, that thing.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Nothing ever panned out.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: Had a very negative view.
- 21:25SPEAKER_02: Um, two things changed that, uh, that opened my eyes.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: Uh, and one of them was this gentleman named Chris Huff.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: He's he lives in England.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: Uh, got to know him.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: Um I I do a podcast and I found out that he uh uh was an expert, or not an expert, but he was very learned in investigating haunted Royal Air Force airfields in from World War II in Great Britain, in particular Bomber Command.
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: I thought that was pretty cool because my dad, an American, actually was in England and served with the RAF in Bomber Command.
- 21:59SPEAKER_02: So we Had a thing that uh connected real quick and we've become friends.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: I've actually investigated with him in England, and the man's amazing.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: Uh, and we now bring him on our many of our investigations via the internet.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: I know everybody, that sounds crazy, but how he describes it is it's all literal, it's all out there, whether I'm next to you or I'm not.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: He says it's better when he's there, but he can certainly do it over, and he does.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: Some of the things, Ryan, that this man has um verified or given to us that we've been able to verify is mind-boggling through the internet.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: You know, and we turn the camera on him.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: I've got earphones on, so only I can hear him.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: Nobody else can hear what he's saying, but he'll say stuff and it'll be cooperated for other pieces of equipment.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: Amazing.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: So Chris Huff's his name.
- 22:48SPEAKER_04: I've heard of his name before.
- 22:52SPEAKER_02: Well, there's a Steve Huff.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: This is not uh that's yeah, no relation at all.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: Uh Chris Huff's in England, and uh and he's pretty humble guy.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: He doesn't he doesn't like getting his name out there a whole lot.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to change that because he the world needs to really understand what he can do.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: But yeah, so thanks, Specky, for bringing that up.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: Chris is pretty amazing.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: Some of the stuff that he's given us has been really outstanding that we've been able to cooperate historically.
- 23:22SPEAKER_04: All right, so you talked about England and UK and all that.
- 23:25SPEAKER_04: I was I actually went over to the UK earlier this year and did investigations.
- 23:29SPEAKER_04: I was at the 306 Bombardment Group Museum over in UK.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: I did investigation.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: What airfield was that?
- 23:37SPEAKER_04: Is it uh Thurley?
- 23:38SPEAKER_04: Thur okay.
- 23:40SPEAKER_04: Thurley Airfield.
- 23:41SPEAKER_04: It was uh where the bombers left from.
- 23:44SPEAKER_02: Well, there's a several there was Polbrook, there was Thorpe Abbott's, uh, and and Thurley was one of them.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: 366 bomb group, okay.
- 23:53SPEAKER_04: 306th.
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: So 306th, okay.
- 23:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I guess they were the first bombers to bomb Germany from that airfield.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: From that airfield, okay.
- 24:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so I actually got to go over there and investigate with some other UK um groups, and uh it was interesting because I like to sit back and watch.
- 24:12SPEAKER_04: So I like to learn how people watch, and UK people investigate totally different than American, they're more polite, you know.
- 24:21SPEAKER_04: They're like, oh, that's proper, you know, that type of stuff.
- 24:24SPEAKER_04: But they were investigating, they were getting some stuff, and they're like, Why don't you start talking?
- 24:31SPEAKER_04: And because of my accent, I guess I have an accent.
- 24:35SPEAKER_04: Um it's stuff went crazy after that.
- 24:39SPEAKER_04: Like we started getting answers left and right.
- 24:41SPEAKER_04: When I started asking all the questions, because that's where the Americans were.
- 24:45SPEAKER_02: You're a Yankee, you're a Yank, yeah.
- 24:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, it was pretty interesting to me how we're getting some stuff, but as soon as I started talking, like equipment was going off.
- 24:54SPEAKER_04: Uh we did a dual Esther session there, it was non-stop, and we got a lot of cool answers there.
- 25:01SPEAKER_04: So I mean interesting.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we were um when I was over there with Chris, my oldest son Ryan was with us, and we uh we were at uh RF Elvington, which was a combined free French and Canadian Air Force uh bomber command base, but there was a fighter museum there um that was dedicated to the 600 609 squadron, a spitfire squadron that defended that area of England during the Blitz.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: And we had a uh, I believe it was a uh it was a spirit box going, and you hear that thing going.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: And Chris asks a question Is there anybody here with us?
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: And you hear Fury, what's your rank?
- 25:43SPEAKER_02: Sergeant.
- 25:45unknown: Cool.
- 25:45SPEAKER_02: We thought it was pretty and it couldn't have been fake because it was coming through the spirit box.
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: It's nothing that he had taped in hurt us.
- 25:51SPEAKER_02: I get back about a week later, and Chris sends me a photograph of a tombstone.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Sergeant Alan Fury, 609 Modern, died October 1940.
- 26:03SPEAKER_02: How do you explain that?
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah, it's pretty pretty cool stuff.
- 26:07SPEAKER_04: I love telling that story.
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
- 26:09SPEAKER_04: No, I mean it collaborates.
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: I mean that's the issue with uh paranormal right now.
- 26:14SPEAKER_04: The throw seekers is they get evidence and they want to collaborate it, and you didn't.
- 26:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, compare it, and that and that's the whole key.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: And Spanky, I don't know how you feel.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: I I know how you feel about it, but if you want to chime in, um, you know, getting that evidence and then cooperating it with historical fact, wow, and uh Belinda is the what comes to mind there, Spanky.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: Yes, right.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: So that's what makes it really, really yeah.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: We had a we had one investigation where oh lordy, that must have gone six, seven, eight hours, and it was a little girl, and she was suffering, and it it was a tragic story, but we ended up finding out that she was buried not too far from where we were at by uh relatives that had came down from New Jersey to the area, and it it was pretty interesting.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: Well, what the best part about it was when we got the girl's name, we didn't know who she was.
- 27:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we just got a couple names, but Chris was telling us the spirit boxes going off, the rods were working.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: We got all of this stuff, and my daughter, who's also a cop, she was a police officer in that town, actually is the one that got us into this building.
- 27:40SPEAKER_02: Uh, actually went to the cemetery just trying to find some information.
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: And the super superintendent of the cemetery said, Oh, I just had a group down here that said they had a young relative, and her name was Belinda, and she died in 1939 when we hurt when we were told it was just amazing.
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: But the point is, we had none, we just got stuffed during the investigation, and suddenly we had a grave site.
- 28:05SPEAKER_02: Just amazing, amazing stuff, and Chris is a big part of that too.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then and then how about the tree with Chris?
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: The devil's tree, the devil's tree here in Florida, yeah.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, that's a that's a tree back in the 1970s, uh, when the city of Port St.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: Lucie, which is a large city, I think it's like the fourth largest city in the state now, isn't it, Spanky?
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: Close to it.
- 28:33SPEAKER_02: It's pretty pretty big town.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: Well, anyway, back then there was nothing there, and um there was a guy named Gerard Schaefer.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: He was a Martin County Deputy Sheriff, which is the county south of a couple south of us, and he was a serial killer, and he had been killing kid uh young ladies for a long time.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: Bottom line is he got caught.
- 28:51SPEAKER_02: But one place where he took some of his victims was this old oak tree back in the back part of Port St.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: Lucie where nobody went.
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: Now it's a park because the place has grown so much, and uh a lot of things had happened there over the years.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: I don't want to bore everybody with too much of the story, but you know, cops would go back there checked on things, they'd find and see things that were crazy.
- 29:13SPEAKER_02: Other as time went on and the stories came up, they actually found bones from short short Schaefer's uh victims back there later on.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: And uh we ended the stories have been going rampant there.
- 29:23SPEAKER_02: Some of them have blown out of proportion, they isn't really what happened.
- 29:27SPEAKER_02: We've done what two investigations there in SPANC, yes, and uh we had Chris with us, and I'll let you tell tell the story of what the stuff that Chris found if you if you want.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Uh you're gonna have to go with it because they're starting all run together unless I look above.
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: He was actually, and once again, when Chris comes on with us, we don't tell him where we're at, any history, we don't tell him anything.
- 29:52SPEAKER_02: He goes in absolutely cold.
- 29:53SPEAKER_02: That's the way we prefer to do it.
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: And he starts talking about it, it was a horrible place, bad things happened there, there were shallow graves, and um he sees this guy poking out behind the the big oak tree, which is called the tree, and he stops, he says, was this was this guy a policeman?
- 30:11SPEAKER_02: Was he a police officer?
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: And sure as heck he was.
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: And uh right about that time, our you know, some of our EMF equipment started going off.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: It was it was a pretty amazing event because when he can tell us things that he shouldn't know, wouldn't even have known to Google it because he didn't know where we were at, and he was just he was absolutely spot on, and then also in that same area was a couple of abandoned properties where you could see the stem walls from the building, yeah.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: And I was using dowsing rods, and it directed me towards one of them, and as I went up the steps, I got to talking to somebody, I don't know who it was, with dowzen rods, and then Larry brought Chris in, and Chris told him, Yeah, there's a gentleman standing right in front of Spanky, and he's wearing this, this, and this.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: And I mean, I was like, How's he know?
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: How's he know?
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: Because he didn't know you were talking to anybody or you were communicating, so yeah, that was important.
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: But but so yeah, we've had a lot of uh luck with that.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: It's very um unorthodox for especially a cop, I think, to be uh using that as part of a repertoire, but it sure as heck works.
- 31:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean a lot of people out there know my feelings on psychic mediums.
- 31:39SPEAKER_04: Um, I work with some, I have very good friends that are some.
- 31:45SPEAKER_04: Do I believe majority are fake?
- 31:47SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 31:48SPEAKER_02: Now I'd say a good portion are.
- 31:52SPEAKER_04: I can't say that they're fake.
- 31:54SPEAKER_04: I really believe they believe they are.
- 31:58SPEAKER_04: Good point.
- 31:58SPEAKER_02: I agree with that.
- 32:00SPEAKER_04: So I mean, you cannot say you're full of us because they actually believe they are, and you talked about something earlier.
- 32:07SPEAKER_04: Is that our minds making it up?
- 32:09SPEAKER_04: It is possible that our imagination can create psychic medium abilities.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: Oh, I think that's a huge part of it, but then the question is if the information they can give you is substantiated by historical fact.
- 32:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, there's a difference.
- 32:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean it's what Chris is doing is different than someone walking by a room and saying there's a little girl over there.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: Obviously.
- 32:35SPEAKER_04: Her name is Sarah.
- 32:38SPEAKER_04: Okay, sweet.
- 32:39SPEAKER_04: Can you back that up?
- 32:42SPEAKER_04: No, you can't.
- 32:43SPEAKER_04: Unless you read historical records and knew there was a Sarah somewhere in this building.
- 32:48SPEAKER_04: But you know, my whole thing is I'm actually doing a paranormal debate.
- 32:53SPEAKER_04: I started paranormal debate.
- 32:54SPEAKER_04: I did hotted dolls and objects earlier.
- 32:56SPEAKER_04: Now I'm doing psychic mediums next.
- 32:58SPEAKER_04: Um I didn't know how that was gonna take off because I'm trying to, it's hard.
- 33:05SPEAKER_04: My mind works in different ways.
- 33:06SPEAKER_04: I'm not trying to rip psychic mediums.
- 33:08SPEAKER_04: I just want to know what we're doing in this paranormal field of why we're going this direction.
- 33:13SPEAKER_04: I have my theories, I'm gonna say that for debate.
- 33:16SPEAKER_04: But you know, when you're a kid, how many times were you scared because there's a monster under your bed?
- 33:24SPEAKER_04: Or there's a monster in your closet in 100% guaranteed you thought there was a monster in your closet.
- 33:34SPEAKER_04: You weren't able to move until you called mom or dad up and they checked your closet.
- 33:40SPEAKER_04: Now, was there a monster in your closet?
- 33:42SPEAKER_04: Could have been, but I think your imagination takes more.
- 33:47SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, does that make does that make sense to you?
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: Absolutely, and then there's people up there, I think you're right.
- 33:52SPEAKER_02: There, there are charlatans that are trying to just take money or or look for fame.
- 33:58SPEAKER_02: There are people that want it bad enough, they think they've got it, but you you're right, their imagination does come in into play.
- 34:04SPEAKER_02: And I'm gonna even agree with you at this point.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: I think that's the majority.
- 34:09SPEAKER_02: And I think the majority are people that that aren't bad folks, they just believe it.
- 34:14unknown: Right.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: But then you've got that section that you just can't explain how they they they put that out.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: Now, the problem with psychics is uh if you can't back it up with historical fact, then how can you prove what they're saying?
- 34:30SPEAKER_02: And that's and you know, you talk to them, they say, Well, this is what I see, it is what it is, and and they may or may not be right, I don't know.
- 34:38SPEAKER_02: But we've got to somehow find a bridge to connect what they're seeing with the facts of the investigation or the historical facts, and and historical research is probably the best way to do that in most cases, but until somebody comes up with a piece of equipment that we can just plug into the side of their ear, it's gonna be tough.
- 34:59SPEAKER_04: I mean, the only way to prove that someone's fake or not fake is them actually coming out saying I was BS the whole time.
- 35:06SPEAKER_04: You know, that's the only way it's gonna happen.
- 35:10SPEAKER_04: People know why I investigate.
- 35:12SPEAKER_04: I've told this many times.
- 35:13SPEAKER_04: I am not trying to find proof of the afterlife.
- 35:16SPEAKER_04: I will find that out, that's guaranteed.
- 35:19SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 35:20SPEAKER_04: So I wrote a couple, I wrote a blog about never forget.
- 35:23SPEAKER_04: It was about my grandfather.
- 35:26SPEAKER_04: My the reason I investigate is to keep stories straight and memories alive.
- 35:32SPEAKER_04: Because I'm a big believer, the only thing worse than dying is being forgotten, and that's why I'm trying not to let happen to these spirits to be forgotten.
- 35:42SPEAKER_04: That's why I investigate.
- 35:44SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 35:45SPEAKER_04: So when psychic mediums go in, I'm not saying all and make up stories that bothers me.
- 35:55SPEAKER_04: Because they want credit credential or they want fame.
- 35:59SPEAKER_04: That really bothers me when we're saying Frank is in this corner.
- 36:03SPEAKER_04: Like you're just making crap up, so you're you know, tick top sens TikTok sensation.
- 36:08SPEAKER_04: It doesn't sit well with me.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: And it shouldn't.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: Ryan, I have a question for you.
- 36:15SPEAKER_04: Uh-oh.
- 36:17SPEAKER_04: Reverse podcast.
- 36:18SPEAKER_04: I love it.
- 36:19SPEAKER_04: Let's go.
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: Well, I I've talked to a lot of a lot of people about this.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: Um we talk about these trapped souls, spirits, ghosts.
- 36:28SPEAKER_02: And that's what's that was a good plug in there, Spank.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: Good job.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: But uh, and and Larry knows this.
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: Uh, probably about five or six times now when what when we're having a good conversation on a with a uh ghost box or whatever.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: I asked the question, are you able to leave here and go to heaven and come back?
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: And what what do you think the answer was most of the time?
- 36:59SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: You're right.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: That's what I've gotten every time.
- 37:05SPEAKER_04: Alright, so trap souls.
- 37:07SPEAKER_04: I'll throw this out there again.
- 37:09SPEAKER_04: This was a name I just came up with because my original group name was Nuclear Soul Seekers, because I work in a nuclear fuel.
- 37:17SPEAKER_04: Um, that sounded like a stupid podcast name.
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: So we used to investigate like trans alligating Luteca Say the Sama, Mansfield Seminary prisons, and I believed at that time some were trapped for what they have done.
- 37:34SPEAKER_04: Have my police changed that?
- 37:37SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 37:38SPEAKER_04: I believe a lot of people want to be there.
- 37:40SPEAKER_04: I believe they can go back and forth.
- 37:42SPEAKER_04: I believe spirits, you you talked about attachments, can follow you if they want to.
- 37:47SPEAKER_04: But I also do believe there's a small percentage that they're there because they did bad, and that is their punishment.
- 37:53SPEAKER_04: But it's a very small percentage.
- 37:56SPEAKER_04: But like you said, can you come back and forth?
- 37:59SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 38:00SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's you know, if you want to talk guardian angels, yeah, they can.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: Now, now Larry, he wants he wants to talk about attachments.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: You want to talk to them about uh New York with me?
- 38:18SPEAKER_00: No.
- 38:20SPEAKER_00: When we when when we ended up at the Hensdale house, right?
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: I was still it was attached and we were able to get rid of it there.
- 38:30SPEAKER_02: Oh Hensdale.
- 38:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 38:32SPEAKER_02: Hensdale.
- 38:32SPEAKER_02: We we we spent some time.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: That's not where I got the attachment.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: That's go ahead.
- 38:37SPEAKER_02: Go ahead and tell the story, Spencer.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: What was it?
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: What was the correct name of the hotel?
- 38:41SPEAKER_02: The Shanley, not the Stanley, but the Shanley Hotel is where we were at.
- 38:46SPEAKER_02: In New York, yeah.
- 38:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I've been there.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: And Larry and I did a couple of rooms by ourselves, and it was with the late ladies of the night.
- 39:00SPEAKER_02: We didn't hire them, they were there in spirit.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Okay, just want to hire them.
- 39:04SPEAKER_02: Okay, I mean, it's your story, you know, stick with it.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: Spirits.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: My wife was there.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, spirits were there, and there was, I for any better word, the pimp of back in the early years.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: Somehow he attached to me, and when we went from there to the other places we went, it it got bad.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: I I was moody, I was yelling, you know, by myself.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: I was yelling at people, it had a headache the whole time, and we got rid of it there at the Hensdale house because we were down in the basement of that place, and that was the first and only time that had ever happened to me.
- 39:52SPEAKER_02: How are you able to get rid of it, Spank?
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: Uh I uh just praying and telling it to leave me now.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: You're not you cannot leave with me.
- 40:04SPEAKER_02: I and because I do remember your whole per persona had changed, and just before we left, you seemed to be back almost back to normal.
- 40:12SPEAKER_02: But I but I thought you pretty much did that on your own.
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, while we were there.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I didn't want to come in back to Florida with me.
- 40:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, that's because you're he's a pimp and your name is Spanky, so he thought he can make some money off you.
- 40:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's good, let me go back to that too.
- 40:33SPEAKER_00: Um my my nickname is from back when I started the fire department in '83.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: Three mics got hired.
- 40:42SPEAKER_00: When the captain yelled, Mike, we'd all go, Yes, sir.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: I got nicknamed because I was 18 years old and looked like the young spanky from the Little Rascals.
- 40:52SPEAKER_00: And I've had it ever since, since 1983.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: I've been Spanky.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: So, but the funny thing is, it's such a funny name.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: We hear it all the time on our portals, portals, yeah, spirit boxes.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: Uh even heard it evp once once or twice.
- 41:11SPEAKER_00: You know, it they they like making fun of me.
- 41:16SPEAKER_02: And I think it's a good time to bring this up because we we talk, we keep talking about the mental aspect of all of this.
- 41:23SPEAKER_02: Um, I think I think it's important folks know with our group, we are willing to go where the evidence goes.
- 41:29SPEAKER_02: Like, take Spanky's name coming up on the portal all the time.
- 41:33SPEAKER_02: Could it be possible that just because it's in our mind, somehow it's being transmitted?
- 41:39SPEAKER_02: I'm just tossing it out there, not necessarily believing it's true or not.
- 41:44SPEAKER_02: But if that's where the evidence takes us, if through all of our work, we end up finding that most of what occurs is the result of our own, the power of our own brain, the untapped power of our own brains.
- 41:57SPEAKER_02: We're willing to accept that.
- 41:59SPEAKER_02: And I think that's one of the things that makes us different than most.
- 42:02SPEAKER_02: We're looking for the answers, and wherever the evidence takes us is where we go.
- 42:08SPEAKER_02: And if it doesn't go where we want it to, well, too bad, so sad.
- 42:11SPEAKER_02: That's where the evidence taking us.
- 42:13SPEAKER_02: Would you agree with that description, Spank?
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: Um, and I think that's really what makes us different than a lot of groups, too.
- 42:20SPEAKER_02: We realize there's other possibilities out there.
