- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today we are doing our fourth installment, in our week-long,
- 0:35moving towards the light, and today, we're going to talk about
- 0:40not reacting so quickly, so it's going to look something like, I
- 0:44paused before I react. Now, this is such an incredibly
- 0:48important piece of this puzzle because most of us have
- 0:52immediate reactions, and as soon as we have a reaction, something
- 0:55else goes down, we have to pause and we have to control the
- 0:59driver on the bus. So, to Speak.
- 1:00We've got to pull ourselves to the place of just that poop.
- 1:03I got to put the brake on a little bit.
- 1:05I've got to go into neutral before I make our definitive
- 1:09Direction here, and we're terrible.
- 1:12As human beings were terrible at pausing.
- 1:15Before we react, we just react, we are even, we can't even have
- 1:18conversations with each other without formulating an answer to
- 1:22what we think the person is going to say before we even have
- 1:25all the information because we want to be prepared, we want to
- 1:27be ready. We want to be like right on top
- 1:30of it. And once we do that, we lose all
- 1:32our power because we've given it up, we haven't been able to make
- 1:35a true Choice. We've been living in reaction.
- 1:37I mean, imagine when you think about this, you can't truly give
- 1:41somebody your honest opinion. When you're reacting, all you're
- 1:44doing, is giving them what emotion you're in in that moment
- 1:48and then you're showing up that way that's where that's where
- 1:51the whole thing comes from. It's just like you're reacting,
- 1:54you're hitting something and you're like, okay, well I'm just
- 1:57going to do this and before, you know, it, you may even Have time
- 2:01afterwards to sit and think and say, geez, if I had just stopped
- 2:04and pause and contemplated, I wouldn't have reacted that way,
- 2:06but the truth is, that's not what happened.
- 2:08You didn't pause, you didn't contemplate and you did react
- 2:11that way. So in the path of finding peace
- 2:14in our life, in the path of moving towards the light being
- 2:18in neutral is incredibly important.
- 2:20I say this constantly to everyone that I coach, I talk
- 2:25about it all the time. Saying, you have to go to
- 2:28neutral, you have to go to neutral, Is from neutral, you
- 2:31can make qualified decisions from neutral, it you're much
- 2:35more capable of seeing clearly because the other emotions are
- 2:39not in the way and they're not Jaden, your focus, they're not
- 2:44putting you in a position where you're just emotionally reacting
- 2:48you're taking your power back. So putting yourself on pause is
- 2:51important. I mean, even taking the time and
- 2:54saying, okay, before I react this might be 24 hours.
- 2:58Before I have an answer, I have been Known to say a people, I
- 3:01can't give you a feedback on this for at least 24 hours and
- 3:05I've had clients say well why do you give that answer when I'm
- 3:08teaching them how to do this? And the truth is I give that
- 3:10answer because I need 24 hours to go through a myriad of
- 3:13emotions that will be driving my bus.
- 3:15Once I go through those emotions, then I can get to
- 3:18neutral sometimes, I can't just go to neutral, I've got to get
- 3:21through the negative emotions of frustration, or fear, whatever
- 3:25it might be. First then once I'm through it
- 3:29then I can make a decision. Then I can go from there.
- 3:32So it's it's much more productive, proactive, much more
- 3:37thoughtful. If you pay attention and say,
- 3:40well, I want to go to neutral first because from there I can
- 3:43make any smart decision if I'm in neutral.
- 3:46I can shift to any certain gear from that point.
- 3:49So just think about this focus. On the fact that you want to be
- 3:53in that position, you want to pause, you want to You know, the
- 3:57big scheme is going to pause but we're going to say I'm going to
- 3:59hit neutral and then I can make a decision from there.
- 4:03It puts you in a leadership position.
- 4:05When you do this for yourself first, it puts you into the if
- 4:10you're in a group of people and you're doing this, it puts you
- 4:13in a position where you're able to observe others.
- 4:15And before you answer, you can actually observe what other
- 4:18people are doing, which also gives you more information.
- 4:21It's just a true position of power.
- 4:23So I mean, you got to do it, you got just put yourself in that
- 4:27position. So hopefully, this is helpful on
- 4:30day four. And I will see you guys tomorrow
- 4:33as you pause today, and put yourself in neutral and just hit
- 4:38that pause button a little bit. All right guys.
- 4:40We'll see you tomorrow. Bye.
