- 0:01Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Welcome to the favorites live on YouTube presented by draft Kings.
- 0:14Speaker 2: The crown is yours. I'm your host, Brandon Kravitz joined
- 0:17Speaker 2: by the totals queen Kendra Middleton. What a weekend she had.
- 0:22Speaker 2: We will detail that and all of our wildest reactions
- 0:26Speaker 2: to the football weekend. A lot to sort through Kendra.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I almost forgot how hectic, how stressful an NFL Sunday
- 0:35Speaker 2: can be once a year. It's a reminder. that you
- 0:39Speaker 2: can't really appreciate it until you live it. I mean,
- 0:42Speaker 2: I'm on the edge of my seat. I'm stressed out
- 0:45Speaker 2: to the max. I've probably took years off of my life.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I overbet the card. I got to learn this lesson
- 0:51Speaker 2: every year. How was your weekend?
- 0:54Speaker 1: I had a fantastic weekend.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I snuggled on the dog with snuggled on the couch
- 0:58Speaker 3: with the dog. I did not snuggle on the dog,
- 1:01Speaker 3: snuggle on the couch with the dog. It consumed way
- 1:04Speaker 3: too much football. Um, I made some chicken wings, went
- 1:07Speaker 3: for a W a L K.
- 1:08Speaker 1: That was pretty much my weekend.
- 1:10Speaker 2: It was good.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Lots of football. The dog is in the room. She
- 1:14Speaker 2: can't say the word for those that are wondering why
- 1:16Speaker 2: she's spelling the word.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I'm not, there are lots of words.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I'm sure you have that as well. Australian shepherds are brilliant.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yes. Mine is getting old, so he's kind of dumb now.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I think I could get away with walk. Sorry. I
- 1:29Speaker 2: shouldn't have said that out loud. If my weekend was
- 1:33Speaker 2: an album title, I want you to think about this
- 1:36Speaker 2: for a second, too, for the weekend, the weekend that
- 1:38Speaker 2: you had. This could go in many different directions. Okay.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Overeager bet mush, I think, would be mine. I just
- 1:46Speaker 2: went way too hard into the paint, oversizing my bets,
- 1:49Speaker 2: not composed in my selections. a part of my issue
- 1:53Speaker 2: is that I've been betting for week one for four months.
- 1:58Speaker 2: So it's not even like I was sitting there just like,
- 2:01Speaker 2: like a, you know, like a 14 year old who
- 2:03Speaker 2: got his dad's phone, just like mashing the keys on
- 2:06Speaker 2: Sunday morning. I made two bets on Sunday morning, but
- 2:09Speaker 2: it tipped me over the scale. So I just, I'm
- 2:11Speaker 2: not happy with myself and I'm not happy with Kamari
- 2:16Speaker 2: Lassiter because all would have been okay in the world.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I would have come out slightly ahead of, From Sunday
- 2:22Speaker 2: had Kamari Lassiter just caught the Yolo ball from Josh Allen,
- 2:26Speaker 2: but instead he drops it. And then you can't give
- 2:29Speaker 2: Allen second opportunities. She throws a touchdown on the next
- 2:33Speaker 2: pass attempt. And here we are. So I'm a broken
- 2:36Speaker 2: up about it.
- 2:37Speaker 3: We will get into my beef with you and John
- 2:40Speaker 3: in a minute. But for my own sake, how many
- 2:44Speaker 3: bets did you have yesterday? Because I'm just not one
- 2:46Speaker 3: of those people. We talk about this all the time.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I make less than 10 bets on any given anything.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And that's it.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I'm not kidding when I say this, Kendra, it is
- 2:57Speaker 2: the thing that I respect the most about you. It
- 3:00Speaker 2: is the thing I try and learn from people that
- 3:03Speaker 2: I admire in my life. And there's a lot of them.
- 3:06Speaker 2: And the thing I try and learn from you is
- 3:07Speaker 2: to be more composed in my betting, because when I am,
- 3:11Speaker 2: I'm pretty good at this. When I'm not, I'm always
- 3:15Speaker 2: bad at it. So I don't know why I do
- 3:18Speaker 2: this to myself. I had 13 bets going yesterday between
- 3:22Speaker 2: props and teasers and straight bets and It's too much.
- 3:27Speaker 2: It's too much. But a lot of that just has
- 3:29Speaker 2: to do with, and it's a reminder for the next year.
- 3:32Speaker 2: You know, this is the first full year now that
- 3:34Speaker 2: we've been doing this podcast.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I've always anniversary to us.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Happy anniversary.
- 3:40Speaker 1: We started, I think like really weak one last year.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 2: So last, so this past off season was the first
- 3:46Speaker 2: off season where I was breaking down an NFL betting
- 3:50Speaker 2: card for five months. I'd never really done that before.
- 3:55Speaker 2: And it did not go well for me. So it's,
- 3:59Speaker 2: it's not even like an overthink. It's just, we just
- 4:03Speaker 2: have too much time on our hands.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Added to the algorithm next year.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Yeah. The process was okay. I just sort of over processed.
- 4:11Speaker 2: There was just too much. I mean, it's like, it's
- 4:13Speaker 2: kind of like it. They're Thanksgiving or whatever. Like, are
- 4:18Speaker 2: you just, it, it's not what you eat. It's that
- 4:21Speaker 2: you never fucking stopped eating. That was the problem. Eventually,
- 4:26Speaker 2: something's going to go wrong if you do that. And
- 4:28Speaker 2: so that was my issue. The biggest bonehead this weekend
- 4:32Speaker 2: of the entire betting card for me was myself. But
- 4:35Speaker 2: you know what? We get it out of the way early, Kendra.
- 4:37Speaker 2: It's all good. Now, in the contest, we still have
- 4:40Speaker 2: an opportunity to come out ahead, even though the Texans
- 4:44Speaker 2: bet that I nominated did not get home. It should have.
- 4:47Speaker 2: It didn't. We chose Texas.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Texas did not choose y'all.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I told... Mallory, my wife, for those that don't know
- 4:56Speaker 2: her name, I told her because I had live bet
- 5:00Speaker 2: the Texas Longhorns the night before at plus two and
- 5:03Speaker 2: a half. And then they go down 20 to three.
- 5:06Speaker 2: They come all the way back and win the game.
- 5:08Speaker 2: So I win that bet. And Houston is now on
- 5:12Speaker 2: the doorstep of covering at the end of the game
- 5:15Speaker 2: before Josh Allen throws that Yolo ball that doesn't get intercepted.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I said, I will line dance in the living room
- 5:22Speaker 2: to Ella Langley. If he catches, if, if the Texans cover,
- 5:26Speaker 2: because this would be two times in a row that
- 5:28Speaker 2: I've miracle covered on a Texas team, I was going
- 5:30Speaker 2: to start dancing and it didn't end up happening. So,
- 5:34Speaker 2: you know, the, the family was, uh, was saved from that. Um,
- 5:38Speaker 2: Back to the point three and two, we have an
- 5:40Speaker 2: opportunity to go three and two. If the Denver Broncos
- 5:43Speaker 2: cover two and a half, I vetoed the Ravens. My
- 5:45Speaker 2: apologies again on that part of the weekend of screw ups.
- 5:49Speaker 2: What was your one?
- 5:51Speaker 3: Y'all really screwed us over. I had the Jags nominated.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I did too. That was John's fault. I'm willing to
- 6:00Speaker 2: put that on your Stremski.
- 6:03Speaker 3: I should have used my veto on your stupid Texans bills.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And the Ravens, I was so right about.
- 6:11Speaker 2: So I don't regret the Texans. I just regret that
- 6:14Speaker 2: they didn't get the job done. I felt like the
- 6:16Speaker 2: read was right. The defense was not there for them.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So the game certainly didn't go the way that I thought,
- 6:21Speaker 2: but they should have covered that. They should have covered
- 6:23Speaker 2: that three different times.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Can I say something?
- 6:25Speaker 3: I get that that game was high scoring, but But
- 6:28Speaker 3: I kind of hated it.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I wanted to see.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Defensive football with, you know, some big stops. And I
- 6:35Speaker 3: get that it was high scoring and people love. I
- 6:37Speaker 3: think I put this in my personal notes. I heard
- 6:40Speaker 3: last night that it was the highest scoring week one
- 6:42Speaker 3: since like the merger, which is crazy that I had
- 6:44Speaker 3: so many unders hit.
- 6:45Speaker 1: And that's the case.
- 6:47Speaker 3: But I just it was high scoring. I wanted to
- 6:49Speaker 3: see more defense. I didn't have the best time watching
- 6:51Speaker 3: this game. And I was in very much in the
- 6:54Speaker 3: camp that I thought that this would be one of
- 6:55Speaker 3: the best games of the year. And I was pissed
- 6:58Speaker 3: that they put it in this window. I'm actually glad
- 7:00Speaker 3: that this wasn't prime time now. Did the NFL know something?
- 7:03Speaker 1: I don't.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Well, they got, they got to throw some of the
- 7:06Speaker 2: good ones at one o'clock. That game was great. As
- 7:09Speaker 2: far as it being highly competitive. Um, I thought CJ
- 7:13Speaker 2: Stroud outside of a couple of turnovers looked really good, but.
- 7:17Speaker 2: It was not the flow that we expected. And it's
- 7:20Speaker 2: the reason why I have a really hard time betting
- 7:22Speaker 2: totals in the NFL because of things like this. I mean,
- 7:25Speaker 2: that's so game script dependent, it turns into a shootout
- 7:28Speaker 2: at the end. And once you get, once Josh Allen
- 7:31Speaker 2: starts feeling it, it's like, okay, you can have the
- 7:33Speaker 2: best defense in the world. There's only so much that
- 7:35Speaker 2: you can do. And, um, the, uh, the, if you
- 7:39Speaker 2: like defense Sunday was not for you. 96 points scored
- 7:45Speaker 2: in the bears Panthers game. nine and four to the
- 7:49Speaker 2: over where the games on the Sunday card. So, uh, so.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Overs were John who tried to convince me of the Panthers.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I think it was you.
- 8:00Speaker 2: It was, and you know, what's crazy too, is that if,
- 8:02Speaker 2: so if I had told you, okay, I want to
- 8:04Speaker 2: take the Panthers and I've already seen into the future
- 8:07Speaker 2: and Bryce young has 361 passing yards with three touchdowns
- 8:15Speaker 2: and they score 37 points. You'd be like, bet your
- 8:18Speaker 2: house on it. And they still didn't.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Defense blows.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yes. Yes. Yes, it does. 478 yards of offense for
- 8:32Speaker 2: the Carolina Panthers. I promise you, if I could bet this,
- 8:36Speaker 2: I would. That will not happen again all season long
- 8:40Speaker 2: for the Carolina Panthers. And I cannot help but stare
- 8:44Speaker 2: at this. this total in week two between the bears
- 8:47Speaker 2: and the Vikings sitting at 49 and a half right now,
- 8:51Speaker 2: that is very tempting to take the over on anything
- 8:54Speaker 2: involving Chicago.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Depends on Kyler.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Are we sure that it, I almost want to take
- 9:01Speaker 2: the under of Kyler plays. He looked terrible and his,
- 9:05Speaker 2: in his early time, Carson Wentz, I will nominate him
- 9:08Speaker 2: for one of the awards we have.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Okay.
- 9:12Speaker 2: So, uh, Let's see where to next. Again, we need
- 9:16Speaker 2: the Broncos to cover and we'll go three and two
- 9:20Speaker 2: week one, which I will take. I'll accept that. What
- 9:23Speaker 2: is your one big takeaway this weekend? What is Kendra
- 9:28Speaker 2: Middleton's one big takeaway from the Sunday slate?
- 9:32Speaker 3: I know that this is a Homer take, but the
- 9:33Speaker 3: Jags are sick. They so easily could have just come
- 9:37Speaker 3: out week one and took their foot off the gas.
- 9:40Speaker 3: They absolutely didn't got to bench Trevor and, And Deshaun
- 9:44Speaker 3: looked like crap. This team, some of the throws that
- 9:46Speaker 3: he made, I just, I'm going to say this. Actually,
- 9:50Speaker 3: this is my real one big takeaway. We are writing
- 9:53Speaker 3: off quarterbacks way too quickly in this league. I've been
- 9:56Speaker 3: experiencing it all week with Drake May here in New
- 9:59Speaker 3: England specifically. I went through it with Trevor there were
- 10:01Speaker 3: times where I was like all right I'm done with
- 10:03Speaker 3: this this there's no coming back from here I think
- 10:06Speaker 3: the overall takeaway that I have is that we need
- 10:09Speaker 3: to give some of these young guys some grace and
- 10:11Speaker 3: some room to grow and not write them off so
- 10:13Speaker 3: quickly we've seen so many careers turn around over the
- 10:15Speaker 3: last couple of years Baker Mayfield, although I did not
- 10:18Speaker 3: think that he had the best week, Sam Darnold, Geno
- 10:21Speaker 3: Smith before he went back to Geno Smith, and now
- 10:24Speaker 3: Trevor Lawrence has grown up a bit. My overall takeaway
- 10:28Speaker 3: is that I don't think quarterbacks develop as quickly as
- 10:30Speaker 3: we would like them to, and we need to really
- 10:33Speaker 3: just step back and give them a little bit longer
- 10:36Speaker 3: before we freak out as a fan base, in any
- 10:39Speaker 3: fan base.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, look at CJ Stroud. He's had his
- 10:42Speaker 2: ups and downs, but People are already writing him off.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Jaden Daniels had a rough second season. I thought he
- 10:49Speaker 2: looked pretty good yesterday. Jalen hurts. People were all in
- 10:53Speaker 2: on him. Wins the Superbowl MVPs in top fives and
- 10:56Speaker 2: people's rankings, and then just falls all the way out
- 11:00Speaker 2: and becomes a guy that most people would not want
- 11:03Speaker 2: to start a franchise with. And he's somebody in a
- 11:06Speaker 2: new offense. I thought looked pretty sharp. I mean, Justin Herbert,
- 11:09Speaker 2: I don't know where he falls into that mix. I'm
- 11:12Speaker 2: thinking about some of the guys that we just haven't
- 11:14Speaker 2: formed full opinions on yet. And, and look, some of
- 11:19Speaker 2: them aren't going to work out, but in the most,
- 11:21Speaker 2: for the most part, I think you're right. I think
- 11:23Speaker 2: allowing these quarterbacks to mature, uh, especially those that go
- 11:28Speaker 2: through big offensive coordinator changes. I think that's, uh, I
- 11:31Speaker 2: think that's important.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I'm going to say something nice about Justin Herbert. Are
- 11:36Speaker 1: we ready to clip?
- 11:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Are we ready to clip this?
- 11:39Speaker 3: If I am a fan of probably over 20 teams
- 11:44Speaker 3: in the NFL and I'm looking for a quarterback in
- 11:47Speaker 3: the next, you know, one to three years, I would
- 11:50Speaker 3: take Justin Herbert over a draft pick, you know, kind
- 11:53Speaker 3: of gamble.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I got to be honest.
- 11:56Speaker 2: This could be a good year for that because there
- 11:58Speaker 2: are going to be some teams that are racing to
- 12:01Speaker 2: the bottom to get one of these top picks. And
- 12:05Speaker 2: I've seen enough of arch Manning to say, uh, I'm not,
- 12:09Speaker 2: I don't think that you should be making your, your
- 12:11Speaker 2: regular season plans. If you're any of these NFL franchises
- 12:14Speaker 2: off of what this kid has looked like, you.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Shouldn't make any of your plans around a number one pick.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Look at the guys in the NFL right now who
- 12:23Speaker 3: are crushing it and weren't number one picks.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Not sorry. You can get a quarterback further back than one.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I'd rather not.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Now a great example of how these scouts like really
- 12:34Speaker 2: have no idea what they're talking about. Just like the
- 12:36Speaker 2: rest of us. Dante Moore has been, we've been told
- 12:40Speaker 2: for the last couple of months, this is going to
- 12:41Speaker 2: be the top quarterback taken in the draft. It's either
- 12:43Speaker 2: him or arch Manning. Have you watched these guys play yet?
- 12:45Speaker 2: They're terrible. I mean, are there at least average that
- 12:50Speaker 2: you can't plan your future around these quarterbacks that aren't
- 12:54Speaker 2: even succeeding at the college level? Um, it's yeah, it's madness. So, um,
- 12:59Speaker 2: that's the positive. Kendra's in on the Jags. She covered
- 13:03Speaker 2: on the Jags. We should have nominated. We should have
- 13:05Speaker 2: put them in the contest. We both did nominate. If
- 13:08Speaker 2: we both have a nomination, it's got to go in.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I mean, this.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I just feel like it's rude to bully our guest.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I think we need to start bullying the guests. I
- 13:16Speaker 2: would like to put my foot down on the host
- 13:18Speaker 2: of the show. We're bullying guests from now on. You
- 13:20Speaker 2: and I, it's so hard for you and I to
- 13:23Speaker 2: agree on anything. If we agree on a spread. And
- 13:26Speaker 2: it's the Jags.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Everything we agreed about this week was a W. 49ers,
- 13:33Speaker 3: we'll get to the birds of the year and the Jags.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yep. But didn't all go well. We've got receipts.
- 13:39Speaker 1: You got to prove it to me. I got to
- 13:43Speaker 1: see evidence.
- 13:44Speaker 2: I'll show you the receipts.
- 13:45Speaker 1: You don't believe me? I have the receipt for it
- 13:48Speaker 1: right here.
- 13:50Speaker 2: And this is where we're going to take our shots
- 13:52Speaker 2: at each other for the stupid things that we say
- 13:54Speaker 2: on this podcast. You've been in on the Browns all
- 13:58Speaker 2: off season Kendra. This might be the worst team in
- 14:02Speaker 2: the NFL. Zero chance. This team hits their wind total
- 14:07Speaker 2: over Deshaun Watson is awful.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I have a theory.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I think that they are just giving Deshaun the start
- 14:15Speaker 3: to the season. There's no way that they can put
- 14:18Speaker 3: him as a starter in a home opener without absolutely
- 14:21Speaker 3: getting booed out of there. I don't know if you
- 14:23Speaker 3: saw yesterday because you're not on Jags internet. There were
- 14:26Speaker 3: Browns fans less than 10 rows up in the stands
- 14:29Speaker 3: who went and bought Jags jerseys and put them on.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Like, I don't think, yes, yes.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Like, I don't think that you can start him at
- 14:38Speaker 3: your home opener without people absolutely losing their mind. And
- 14:42Speaker 3: I wholeheartedly believe, yes, I have a ticket on them
- 14:45Speaker 3: to win. I think over five, I can't remember if
- 14:47Speaker 3: it's four and a half or five and a half games.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I have way too many futures to be honest. I
- 14:51Speaker 3: think it's five and a half, but if they put
- 14:54Speaker 3: Shador in at some point, I think it's an addition
- 14:56Speaker 3: by subtraction situation. I don't think that they're that far
- 14:59Speaker 3: off talent wise, but I think the team will get
- 15:01Speaker 3: up for Shador.
- 15:01Speaker 2: They were, uh, they were bad, bad. pretty bad at everything.
- 15:06Speaker 2: And Deshaun Watson actually threw a gorgeous deep ball to
- 15:09Speaker 2: Denzel Boston with two minutes left. That version of Watson
- 15:12Speaker 2: could be interesting, but what he looks like the other
- 15:15Speaker 2: 58 minutes of the game, it's just, it's not, it's
- 15:20Speaker 2: not good enough. And because you don't have to worry
- 15:22Speaker 2: about Watson, you zero in on the run and then what,
- 15:25Speaker 2: and then their defense is rebuilt too, you know? So
- 15:27Speaker 2: they don't, they just have no redeeming qualities. I don't
- 15:30Speaker 2: think Todd Monken's a good head coach. I don't know
- 15:32Speaker 2: where this team even finds whether you have four and
- 15:35Speaker 2: a half or five and a half. I don't think
- 15:36Speaker 2: it matters. So I don't think they're hitting the over.
- 15:39Speaker 3: I get that they lost Miles Garrett, but I do
- 15:41Speaker 3: think that they got better in some places. Like I
- 15:43Speaker 3: like the Denzel Boston addition. I like Casey Concepcion. I
- 15:46Speaker 3: really think that Jared verse is one of the most
- 15:49Speaker 3: valuable players with his contract being what it is at
- 15:52Speaker 3: his position right now. I know that they're going to
- 15:53Speaker 3: eventually either have to sign him or let him go,
- 15:56Speaker 3: but I just, they got better in certain spots outside of,
- 16:00Speaker 3: you know, losing miles, but the.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Quarterback position is just such a dumpster fire.
- 16:07Speaker 2: So you said that we need to give quarterbacks a
- 16:09Speaker 2: little more time. I wonder how long we're going to
- 16:11Speaker 2: feel that way about cam ward and one of the
- 16:14Speaker 2: other teams that you've been in on the Titans are
- 16:16Speaker 2: right behind them. Titans Browns dolphins are in a dog
- 16:20Speaker 2: fight for being the worst team in the NFL.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Don't let the jets trick you.
- 16:26Speaker 2: They have tricked me. I already got them in week two. Okay.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Who are they playing?
- 16:33Speaker 2: The Packers. I get, I know, I get it. I'm
- 16:37Speaker 2: sure that this is an overreaction. I don't just don't
- 16:39Speaker 2: think the line has moved enough.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I think the Packers are going to kick their ass.
- 16:47Speaker 2: This is why when we agree, it's got to go
- 16:50Speaker 2: in the contest because there's no way.
- 16:52Speaker 5: Holy shit.
- 16:55Speaker 1: You stress me out, man. All right.
- 16:59Speaker 2: And I bet their money line. Okay. So, um, look,
- 17:04Speaker 2: It's hard for me to give you shit after the
- 17:06Speaker 2: weekend that you had the weekend that you had the
- 17:08Speaker 2: weekend that I had. They were very different. You were
- 17:10Speaker 2: five and one on your card. You've been talking shit
- 17:12Speaker 2: about Justin Herbert all off season. He was terrible. The
- 17:15Speaker 2: Ravens smashed. The Raiders looked sharp. The Bengals defenses lights
- 17:19Speaker 2: out most of the game. They turned Baker Mayfield over
- 17:22Speaker 2: four times. I think yesterday before I move on, is
- 17:25Speaker 2: there anything, I mean, there's, you've got plenty to choose from.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Is there anything you want to give me shit on?
- 17:31Speaker 1: No, just you're on my shit list right now.
- 17:34Speaker 2: So kind.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I'm feeling nice today.
- 17:37Speaker 2: You're way too nice to me.
- 17:40Speaker 5: We're dead in the water.
- 17:42Speaker 1: If it crashes, it crashes, right?
- 17:44Speaker 2: Never stood a chance. No.
- 17:46Speaker 4: It was Cash.
- 17:48Speaker 2: So clutch. All right, let's get to our Cash, Crash,
- 17:50Speaker 2: and Clutch. This is our version of Hi-Lo Hero, one
- 17:53Speaker 2: of Kendra's favorite games to play. Cash is going to
- 17:57Speaker 2: be the hero of the week. That's the guy, the
- 18:01Speaker 2: team that That won us money that we are glowing
- 18:07Speaker 2: about on a Monday afternoon. This is by the way,
- 18:10Speaker 2: you're well, the show that you're watching right now, every
- 18:12Speaker 2: single Monday, Kendra and I are going to recap the
- 18:15Speaker 2: action that we saw on Sunday. Go over some of
- 18:18Speaker 2: the things that we like going into next week. Thursday
- 18:21Speaker 2: is going to be our full preview episode. We'll chat
- 18:25Speaker 2: with one of our favorite guests that joins us routinely
- 18:27Speaker 2: and all of that. So that's the schedule breakdown throughout
- 18:29Speaker 2: the season. Who is your cash of the week?
- 18:33Speaker 3: Birds of the year, baby birds of the year. You
- 18:36Speaker 3: and I both have been all over the Arizona Cardinals
- 18:39Speaker 3: before this. Thanks to some help from with some stats
- 18:41Speaker 3: from Evan Abrams as well. This just felt like such
- 18:45Speaker 3: a layup for us. I know when we were filling
- 18:46Speaker 3: out our card, there was a point where we almost
- 18:48Speaker 3: didn't add them. And I was like, no, we have
- 18:50Speaker 3: to add the Cardinals. They're the birds of the year.
- 18:52Speaker 3: And they went out there, looked good on both sides
- 18:54Speaker 3: of the ball. Dewey Wingard, former Jag out there with
- 18:57Speaker 3: the pick. I just, it was a fun weekend. It
- 18:59Speaker 3: was a fun game. I am all in on them.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I know that they have the toughest schedule in the NFL,
- 19:05Speaker 3: but they're feisty, man. And I love Mike LaFleur. I
- 19:08Speaker 3: think that he is going to be, you know what?
- 19:10Speaker 3: I think we should pod bet him coach of the year.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Oh, I like that. I like that. Let's see where
- 19:18Speaker 2: he is. He's going to be far down this list.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I love that.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I think we need to do it now.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Matt. No, that's not Matt. We're looking for Mike. Where
- 19:28Speaker 2: are you at, Mike? Oh, Mike LaFleur. He's 15 to one. Wow.
- 19:32Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I don't think it's going to get any better, to
- 19:35Speaker 1: be honest.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Okay. I'm in on that.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I'm going to add this to my color-coded notes.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Oh, we've gone color-coded. We really are hitting.
- 19:46Speaker 1: The next level. You know I have ADHD. Come on.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Got to do it. Got to do it. Yeah. Love,
- 19:52Speaker 2: love what I saw from the Cardinals and what they
- 19:55Speaker 2: do in week two is going to be fascinating. We'll
- 19:57Speaker 2: break this down in detail on Thursday, but they play
- 20:00Speaker 2: the Seahawks and Seattle. We know isn't going to have
- 20:04Speaker 2: Sam Darnold. How much do you downgrade? the Seahawks and
- 20:07Speaker 2: not having Darnold and going to lock. I don't know
- 20:10Speaker 2: that it's that much.
- 20:12Speaker 1: We got a bird off.
- 20:14Speaker 2: They're plus five and a half. And it looks like
- 20:17Speaker 2: they're taking money early on. I think I might end
- 20:19Speaker 2: up on the Cardinals again. I just, you know, I'm,
- 20:22Speaker 2: I would already bet this if I didn't feel like
- 20:24Speaker 2: I was, you don't want to get your hand caught
- 20:27Speaker 2: in the cookie jar and betting the Cardinals right now
- 20:30Speaker 2: feels like that, but I would definitely lean in that direction.
- 20:34Speaker 2: It's a pretty big adjustment.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It wouldn't be a question.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Yeah, because then we would be getting, we'd probably be
- 20:41Speaker 2: getting three more points. I think it would be like
- 20:43Speaker 2: plus eight and a half. We could get on the
- 20:44Speaker 2: Cardinals in division. Oh God, I would love that. Five
- 20:48Speaker 2: and a half is like, you know, first of all,
- 20:50Speaker 2: it's kind of a dead number, so we can wait
- 20:51Speaker 2: on it. I think we wait on that. If we
- 20:53Speaker 2: end up with four and a half, we'll be all right.
- 20:54Speaker 2: We'll wait. We'll wait. Look at me being all composed.
- 20:58Speaker 2: We're going to wait on that one. Mine is Tyler Shuck.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I was lighting this man up in our group chat
- 21:03Speaker 2: with JJ on Sunday. He looked like he forgot how
- 21:07Speaker 2: to play quarterback. He was nine of 21 at one
- 21:10Speaker 2: point in the first half with no touchdowns and interception
- 21:13Speaker 2: and a fumble. He then finished the game with a
- 21:17Speaker 2: career high in passing yards at 410, three passing touchdowns,
- 21:21Speaker 2: easily out dueling the quarterback on the other side, Jared Goff.
- 21:25Speaker 2: They were a two point conversion and overtime away from
- 21:29Speaker 2: winning this game, a play that probably should have been
- 21:31Speaker 2: past interference. First quarterback of the season to throw for
- 21:36Speaker 2: 400 plus yards. If you had told me that I
- 21:38Speaker 2: would be saying that while I was watching this guy
- 21:40Speaker 2: in the second quarter, I would have thought you were crazy.
- 21:43Speaker 2: So hats off to you, my friend, Tyler shuck, my
- 21:46Speaker 2: cash of the week. And I was on the saints
- 21:48Speaker 2: plus seven and a half.
- 21:50Speaker 3: My question for you about this game is who do
- 21:52Speaker 3: you think it said more about?
- 21:55Speaker 2: It's a good question. I think it says more about
- 21:57Speaker 2: the lions. I'm a little concerned. Um, this is another
- 22:00Speaker 2: bet that I've made. So it kind of goes counter
- 22:02Speaker 2: to what I'm about to tell you here. Cause I'm
- 22:04Speaker 2: on the lions plus three and a half against the
- 22:05Speaker 2: bills on Thursday night. Um, I just like that you're
- 22:08Speaker 2: getting the hook, but I am a little worried season
- 22:11Speaker 2: long about the lions with this up 21 to nothing
- 22:15Speaker 2: at home and you blow it. That defense has always
- 22:19Speaker 2: been the issue. Jared golf out dueled by Tyler shuck.
- 22:23Speaker 2: They can't give the ball to Jameer Gibbs 30 times
- 22:26Speaker 2: a game. He's not going to survive the season that way.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I'm worried about the Lions.
- 22:31Speaker 3: I'm going to have to be so careful with my
- 22:34Speaker 3: veto for Thursday with you already that it's just.
- 22:39Speaker 1: I might have.
- 22:40Speaker 3: To text Emerson separately. We're going to have to conspire
- 22:47Speaker 3: against you.
- 22:48Speaker 2: You will not be granted extra vetoes. Okay, who is your...
- 22:52Speaker 2: Who was your crash of the week?
- 22:55Speaker 1: My crash is I think it's going to be Baker Mayfield.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 22:59Speaker 3: I just you just got signed. You can't go out
- 23:01Speaker 3: there and put a stinker like that up. I get
- 23:04Speaker 3: the Bengals are a good team, but they tried to
- 23:06Speaker 3: give it to you at times.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And Baker just didn't take care of the football.
- 23:08Speaker 3: He looked I just I don't know if it was
- 23:12Speaker 3: the fact that he had the distractions with the contract
- 23:14Speaker 3: going on in the preseason. Everyone's talking about Quarterback's not
- 23:18Speaker 3: getting enough work in the preseason, but he didn't look
- 23:21Speaker 3: ready to go.
- 23:22Speaker 1: He just didn't. I don't know what it was, but
- 23:25Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield is my crash.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. I think some people are going to
- 23:29Speaker 2: look at the completion percentage and be like, nah, it
- 23:31Speaker 2: wasn't that bad. 23 of 28. Didn't have any touchdowns.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Took four sacks. I would venture to guess that all
- 23:38Speaker 2: of them were on him and not the offensive line.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Their O-line wasn't as good as I think it can
- 23:43Speaker 2: be with the talent they have. They should have a
- 23:44Speaker 2: top five. offensive line. I don't think they played like that.
- 23:48Speaker 2: We got to give some credit to the Bengals defensive
- 23:50Speaker 2: line that was able to get through, but every, it
- 23:52Speaker 2: seemed like every time Baker was turning the ball over,
- 23:55Speaker 2: it was because he was holding the ball too long
- 23:57Speaker 2: in the pocket. He had three fumbles lost all three.
- 24:00Speaker 2: You just can't do that as six point game where
- 24:04Speaker 2: you're right. Like the Bengals should have blown the bucks out.
- 24:06Speaker 2: They didn't. Um, I, I definitely come away from this
- 24:11Speaker 2: questioning what the bucks can be offensively. They can't run
- 24:13Speaker 2: the football. And Baker Mayfield, if he's just going to be, uh,
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yolo try and save the day, holding the ball till
- 24:22Speaker 2: every last second, it's just not going to work. And
- 24:24Speaker 2: he's going to get himself hurt. He had a couple of,
- 24:27Speaker 2: a couple of those sacks where he was slammed to
- 24:29Speaker 2: the floor, like a pro wrestler.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Can we talk about something sneaky that the bangles did?
- 24:34Speaker 3: Did you see them put in Joe Flacco for that
- 24:37Speaker 3: play to try and change?
- 24:38Speaker 2: I was very confused that they were just trying to
- 24:40Speaker 2: draw the bucks off sides and confuse them.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I think that there was one of two things.
- 24:45Speaker 3: They are either trying to change the cadence to draw
- 24:48Speaker 3: them off or if they were going to QB sneak,
- 24:51Speaker 3: I think that their thought process is do it with
- 24:53Speaker 3: Flacco instead of Joe Burrow to keep him healthy.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'm serious.
- 24:56Speaker 3: It's one of those two things. It's literally one of
- 24:58Speaker 3: those two things.
- 25:00Speaker 2: And it very well could be both. Let's try and
- 25:02Speaker 2: draw them off sides and if we like the formation
- 25:06Speaker 2: that they're in, then Joe can sneak it and they
- 25:08Speaker 2: call the timeout and they put Burrow back in, but Yeah,
- 25:12Speaker 2: that's a good call out by you. I'd never, I
- 25:13Speaker 2: don't think I've ever seen that.
- 25:15Speaker 3: I don't think I've ever seen it. I thought that
- 25:17Speaker 3: that was so smart. And listen, I don't think that
- 25:19Speaker 3: the Bengals have the smartest coaching staff in the league.
- 25:22Speaker 3: I've been rather vocal about that through the preseason. I
- 25:25Speaker 3: think that Zach Taylor probably has the shortest leash in
- 25:27Speaker 3: the league, but that was smart. I got to say,
- 25:32Speaker 3: just even the thought of trying to change a cadence
- 25:33Speaker 3: in that moment, I don't hate it at all.
- 25:35Speaker 1: I actually really, I think that that's brilliant.
- 25:39Speaker 2: The QB sneak has never been more prevalent than it
- 25:41Speaker 2: is right now. The idea of having for the other
- 25:45Speaker 2: example of what this could have been having a quarterback
- 25:47Speaker 2: that's just there to mash into the offensive line. That's
- 25:51Speaker 2: not a bad idea either. No, I'm into this on
- 25:53Speaker 2: both fronts.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I like it. I thought it was really smart.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Yeah. My crash is I'm going to go back to Thursday, Friday,
- 26:02Speaker 2: whatever day it was in Australia, but How can you
- 26:05Speaker 2: not be rethinking your Rams positions right now? If you
- 26:08Speaker 2: bought in on this team, not only do they get
- 26:10Speaker 2: molly whopped by the 49ers, they lost miles Garrett for
- 26:13Speaker 2: a month. I've downgraded them severely in my power ratings.
- 26:17Speaker 2: They're now a top heavy bunch that simply isn't deep
- 26:22Speaker 2: enough to sustain their stars, either a not being good
- 26:26Speaker 2: or be being hurt. And I'm a little concerned about
- 26:31Speaker 2: the Rams. This is another, I only have four bets, uh,
- 26:34Speaker 2: for the next week. I know it sounds like I've
- 26:36Speaker 2: already made a million, but, uh, the giants plus seven
- 26:39Speaker 2: and a half on Monday night football Rams coming back
- 26:42Speaker 2: from Australia without miles Garrett. I think this is a
- 26:45Speaker 2: major concern. It'll be Aaron Donald's first game with the Rams. And,
- 26:49Speaker 2: you know, he's looking around like, uh, this isn't exactly
- 26:52Speaker 2: what I thought I was getting into.
- 26:55Speaker 3: I am not going to take a victory lap after
- 26:57Speaker 3: week one because I could still really get got here,
- 26:59Speaker 3: but I'm feeling pretty good about my future after watching them.
- 27:03Speaker 3: I think the most interesting storyline here, and I hate
- 27:06Speaker 3: to keep harping on the travel, but it's really going
- 27:09Speaker 3: to be was the Rams punting this game with their
- 27:12Speaker 3: travel schedule worth it into the 49ers really have any
- 27:14Speaker 3: sort of hangover. I think that that truly is going
- 27:16Speaker 3: to be the story of the week here between these
- 27:18Speaker 3: two teams. I know that miles Garrett is a huge loss.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Aaron Donald potentially coming back also a huge storyline, but
- 27:25Speaker 3: from as like a whole team perspective, this fascinates me
- 27:28Speaker 3: far more.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yeah. They were talking about that a lot on football
- 27:32Speaker 2: night in America last night. Can you really punt on
- 27:35Speaker 2: a divisional game where it kind of counts as a
- 27:38Speaker 2: game and a half when you consider who you're going
- 27:40Speaker 2: up against and how good that division is. And now
- 27:43Speaker 2: the Rams are, are sitting behind the Cardinals in the standings,
- 27:47Speaker 2: which is hilarious. Awesome.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Yes.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Go red birds. All right. Who is your clutch of
- 27:54Speaker 2: the weekend?
- 27:55Speaker 3: My clutch of the weekend. I feel like it's got,
- 27:59Speaker 3: I was going to go with Jalen Hurts. We already
- 28:00Speaker 3: talked about him. It's going to be Caleb Williams for me.
- 28:02Speaker 3: We haven't talked about this came a ton.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I thought that the.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Bears offense looked absolutely surgical. Talk about a kid who
- 28:10Speaker 3: I think just needed a little bit of time to
- 28:11Speaker 3: develop a 59 points from that offense is awesome. I
- 28:16Speaker 3: get that they ran the ball a lot, but I
- 28:18Speaker 3: really enjoyed watching the Bears.
- 28:20Speaker 1: I thought that he was fantastic.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Caleb was great. I think that if there's a futures
- 28:26Speaker 2: bet to add to the portfolio, it might be Caleb
- 28:28Speaker 2: for MVP.
- 28:30Speaker 3: No, their schedule is way too tough. There's no way
- 28:32Speaker 3: he can continue this. I love Caleb. I think that
- 28:35Speaker 3: he's fantastic. I believe in him, but their schedule this
- 28:38Speaker 3: season can't do it.
- 28:41Speaker 2: So, um, the, and that would hold him back. And
- 28:45Speaker 2: the fact that this team is as good as they
- 28:48Speaker 2: are running the football that might end up taking away
- 28:51Speaker 2: from some of the credit that he gets. Kendra's probably right.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Caleb Williams. Those are the short
- 28:58Speaker 2: shots right now for MVP. You're probably better off. If
- 29:01Speaker 2: you like the idea of betting Caleb, wait until he
- 29:04Speaker 2: has a bad game.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Don't all three of those are stinky.
- 29:08Speaker 2: I'm in Lamar. Oh my goodness.
- 29:11Speaker 1: He can't stay healthy. He's going to shit himself in December.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I'm telling you.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Lamar on turf. I don't know why I talked to
- 29:20Speaker 2: you out of that. I really don't. That is one
- 29:23Speaker 2: of the big regrets of the weekend.
- 29:25Speaker 1: I knew it. I have been talking shit about the
- 29:28Speaker 1: Colts all preseason.
- 29:29Speaker 3: They're going to be the worst team in this division.
- 29:31Speaker 3: I know the Titans look like ass, but I think.
- 29:34Speaker 1: The Colts are double ass. Just in better wrapping.
- 29:40Speaker 2: They, they at least have some redeeming quality to them.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Like they can always hand the ball off to Jonathan Taylor.
- 29:45Speaker 2: I don't know what the Titans do. Well, I don't know.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I know they have a ball. I like their, I
- 29:52Speaker 2: like Robert Sala. He was dealt a bad hand here.
- 29:55Speaker 2: That is a bad roster. The bears ran for 292
- 29:59Speaker 2: yards and six touchdowns in that game. That was, it
- 30:03Speaker 2: was good as Caleb Williams was. They're running is elite
- 30:08Speaker 2: with the guys. They have offensive line. I thought they
- 30:11Speaker 2: were going to take a step back without Drew Dolman.
- 30:13Speaker 2: That doesn't seem like that's the case. My clutch is
- 30:15Speaker 2: another team inside of the same division. The Minnesota Vikings,
- 30:20Speaker 2: Carson Wentz, three touchdowns.
- 30:22Speaker 1: This game pissed me off so bad.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Why?
- 30:27Speaker 2: What about this game?
- 30:28Speaker 1: It just was annoying to watch.
- 30:30Speaker 3: The freaking penalties were annoying, Kravitz.
- 30:35Speaker 2: I think the Vikings got a couple of breaks, but
- 30:39Speaker 2: they dominated that fourth quarter 22-0 in the final frame
- 30:45Speaker 2: of this game. Wentz looked bad at the beginning, but
- 30:48Speaker 2: he really settled in. And the most important thing he
- 30:51Speaker 2: did is he got Justin Jefferson involved, who looked like
- 30:53Speaker 2: he was about to request a trade. In the middle
- 30:56Speaker 2: of that game.
- 30:56Speaker 1: I'm still on it. I'm still on it. I'm sorry.
- 30:59Speaker 3: That was my hot take of the year was that
- 31:00Speaker 3: he was going to request a trade, and people lost
- 31:03Speaker 3: it on Instagram about that, by the way. But now
- 31:06Speaker 3: Kyler Murray's hurt. He looked like crap before he got hurt.
- 31:09Speaker 3: You're not going to be able.
- 31:10Speaker 1: To ride that hand for the rest of the season.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Carson Wentz isn't a number one. J.J.
- 31:14Speaker 3: McCarthy sucks. I love you, Max Brosmer, but no. What
- 31:18Speaker 3: are we doing here?
- 31:19Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know what the Vikings do.
- 31:21Speaker 2: I don't know what they do.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Kravitz, promise me that you're not going to fall in
- 31:25Speaker 3: love with the fucking Minnesota Vikings right now.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I'm not. I'm not.
- 31:31Speaker 4: Okay.
- 31:31Speaker 2: No, that's not going to be... This isn't a flag plant.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I'm not there.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Do not fall in love with the Minnesota Vikings. This
- 31:40Speaker 1: is a.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Short-term, one-night stand. This is not something you can grow.
- 31:46Speaker 3: The seeds are there, but they are not going to
- 31:49Speaker 3: be watered. Do not fall in love with, honestly, frankly,
- 31:53Speaker 3: either of these teams.
- 31:55Speaker 2: So from a football perspective, what I found fascinating about
- 31:59Speaker 2: this game is that Brian Flores is so dug in
- 32:04Speaker 2: to throwing extra pressure at quarterbacks that it wasn't working.
- 32:09Speaker 2: For almost three full quarters. And he said, fuck it.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I'm going to keep doing it anyway. The Packers had eight.
- 32:15Speaker 2: They had completions of 81, 43, 42, and 30. That
- 32:20Speaker 2: just means you don't have enough defenders on the back end.
- 32:23Speaker 2: You're throwing extra bodies at Jordan Love, and it wasn't working.
- 32:26Speaker 2: And he was so dug in to this is going
- 32:29Speaker 2: to work. Which is crazy.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Make him be you.
- 32:31Speaker 2: That's the crazy. That's the crazy part is that it
- 32:34Speaker 2: wasn't working. And then it did. And it worked all
- 32:37Speaker 2: at once. Jordan love was pressured on 78% of his
- 32:41Speaker 2: dropbacks and, and the damn broke Vikings 22 to zero
- 32:45Speaker 2: in the fourth quarter. It was the most, it was
- 32:48Speaker 2: the most stubborn defensive game plan that had no business
- 32:52Speaker 2: working and it worked. And that's why it's like, yeah,
- 32:56Speaker 2: I respect him as a DC, as a leader, as
- 33:00Speaker 2: with between his over-aggressiveness and Carson Wentz and they can't
- 33:04Speaker 2: really run. I can't buy into the Minnesota Vikings. And
- 33:07Speaker 2: I think maybe that's the overreaction of the weekend that
- 33:10Speaker 2: other people will trip into and not us is that
- 33:13Speaker 2: Minnesota is something that they're not.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 3: I think that the Packers were better than they showed yesterday,
- 33:19Speaker 3: but they definitely have some lessons to learn.
- 33:21Speaker 1: I think what helps them is the coaching.
- 33:24Speaker 2: So this is one that we have on our sheet
- 33:26Speaker 2: today that I don't know who to nominate for this.
- 33:30Speaker 2: So I'm just going to defer to you. Who would
- 33:31Speaker 2: you nominate as the Diva of the Weekend? He's just
- 33:35Speaker 2: a diva.
- 33:36Speaker 3: No, I'm not.
- 33:36Speaker 1: An impossible diva.
- 33:39Speaker 2: What would make you say something like that?
- 33:41Speaker 4: It's pretty obvious.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Diva alert! Diva of the Weekend. Madison Beer. She looked
- 33:46Speaker 1: so good.
- 33:47Speaker 3: But.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Diva of the Weekend.
- 33:50Speaker 2: She had the internet in a frenzy, that.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Is for sure. She really had the boys going a
- 33:57Speaker 1: little crazy. Diva of the Weekend. That's a really good question.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Diva of the Weekend. Can you give me yours?
- 34:09Speaker 2: I don't have one, so I was really.
- 34:12Speaker 3: I need, now that I know we're going to do this,
- 34:14Speaker 3: I need to think about it. I, you.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Know, you know, I think it's one of those things
- 34:18Speaker 2: that you don't force it. If it's not there, I
- 34:21Speaker 2: can't really, I need to see what, what I haven't
- 34:23Speaker 2: watched yet as I'm doing all of the, the recap
- 34:26Speaker 2: is I need post game pressers. Cause that's, that's when
- 34:29Speaker 2: I can really make that decision.
- 34:31Speaker 3: I have one Tom Brady dropping a butterfly reference during
- 34:34Speaker 3: the broadcast diva of the week right there. I did not. I,
- 34:39Speaker 3: whatever he said about butterflies having soft legs or something.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:43Speaker 1: That was crazy, but that was a diva call.
- 34:45Speaker 2: All right. All right. Um, A little insect terminology.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Did you hear him say that?
- 34:50Speaker 2: I did not.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. He said something. You'll have to look
- 34:54Speaker 1: into it. There was like a play where he, someone.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Threw a pass to like the corner end zone and
- 34:57Speaker 3: it just like fell in their bread basket. I don't
- 34:59Speaker 3: know who he was throwing to, but he just goes,
- 35:02Speaker 3: that was like a butterfly having like soft legs or something.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Butterfly with tired legs is what production saying. It was
- 35:08Speaker 1: so weird.
- 35:09Speaker 3: I only saw it on red zone and I just
- 35:11Speaker 3: kind of was like, what did he just say?
- 35:14Speaker 1: And so that's my diva of the weekend. Butterfly reference.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I'm glad that we didn't hear that because the butterfly
- 35:20Speaker 2: is sort of a soft subject in the Kravitz household.
- 35:22Speaker 2: We had a couple of chrysalises outside that my wife
- 35:26Speaker 2: was monitoring and they've disappeared. And so glad that we didn't,
- 35:31Speaker 2: because that would have been, that could have, could have
- 35:32Speaker 2: wrecked the four o'clock window. And we heard about the butterflies. RIP.
- 35:37Speaker 2: RIP to butterfly nation in my backyard. All right, let's
- 35:40Speaker 2: bring in the Oracle, Evan Abrams. Evan, what did you learn?
- 35:45Speaker 2: this weekend that you will be taking with you as
- 35:47Speaker 2: we venture into the future?
- 35:50Speaker 4: Uh, I, I tend to week by week, just first
- 35:52Speaker 4: of all, what's up guys. But also I tend to
- 35:54Speaker 4: look week by week by just a few stats, uh,
- 35:56Speaker 4: a few stats that keep me grounded to see like
- 35:59Speaker 4: what mattered. Uh, and these are really simple, but I
- 36:02Speaker 4: feel like they're kind of interesting. So the teams that
- 36:04Speaker 4: had more third downs when 10 and four straight up 10,
- 36:07Speaker 4: three and one against the spread, uh, pretty normal stuff, uh,
- 36:10Speaker 4: teams who led at the half 13 and two straight
- 36:13Speaker 4: up 11, three and one against the spread. And then
- 36:15Speaker 4: this one, going into Monday Night Football, teams who won
- 36:17Speaker 4: the turnover battle, 12-0 straight up, 10-1-1 against the spread.
- 36:21Speaker 4: So things of that nature I feel like continue to
- 36:24Speaker 4: always be important when looking at these things and trying
- 36:27Speaker 4: to predict week to week, which is always a difficult task.
- 36:30Speaker 4: But they are decent predictors, and everyone has a different
- 36:33Speaker 4: conversation about this.
- 36:34Speaker 5: But I feel like it's interesting nonetheless. And then the
- 36:36Speaker 5: other one.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Oh, sorry. Go craft. No, I was going to ask
- 36:40Speaker 2: just to clarify the third down stat. That's not, that's
- 36:43Speaker 2: not the amount of third downs. That's the amount of
- 36:45Speaker 2: conversions that you have. It's like, yeah, yeah.
- 36:47Speaker 4: Actual third downs made is all I care about in that.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Versus like the actual percentage, but these are just like
- 36:54Speaker 4: simple things I look at. And then one other thing
- 36:55Speaker 4: I'll give you is just the overreaction and like Brandon
- 36:59Speaker 4: and Brandon Anderson and so many other people here. We'll
- 37:01Speaker 4: talk about this as we get into week two, but
- 37:03Speaker 4: just a simple one teams to lose by more than
- 37:06Speaker 4: one possession, nine points or more. week one who are
- 37:09Speaker 4: underdogs in week two, 62% against the spread last 20 years,
- 37:12Speaker 4: 12 straight seasons, 500 ATS or better. So pretty consistent
- 37:19Speaker 4: year to year. You're going to get 500 or better
- 37:21Speaker 4: in this. And of course, these are the worst of
- 37:23Speaker 4: the worst. So this would be betting Miami, betting the Colts,
- 37:26Speaker 4: betting the Titans and betting the Browns. So good luck
- 37:30Speaker 4: to everybody. But year to year, this is something that
- 37:33Speaker 4: shows up in week two.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Who are your winners, losers?
- 37:38Speaker 3: And is there anybody that you fell in love with
- 37:39Speaker 3: this weekend or that you're looking at for next week already?
- 37:44Speaker 5: Winners and losers.
- 37:47Speaker 4: Well, I put in the chat in terms of the
- 37:48Speaker 4: divas stuff.
- 37:49Speaker 5: I hated this.
- 37:50Speaker 4: Stefan digs basically cost Washington the game based on that
- 37:53Speaker 4: situation with the touchdown, you know, typical his situation, but
- 37:57Speaker 4: also the CD lamb stuff last night, like he was
- 38:00Speaker 4: taunting and taunting. And then they basically almost lose by
- 38:02Speaker 4: two scores. Things like that ground my gears. If you're
- 38:06Speaker 4: talking about actual overreaction, it's almost impossible what the heck
- 38:10Speaker 4: we do as Chicago. I mean, normally you would say
- 38:13Speaker 4: a team like that who scores that many points comes
- 38:16Speaker 4: back down to earth. Very difficult to predict. But I
- 38:18Speaker 4: will say this. Minnesota next week. And you get Flores
- 38:22Speaker 4: and the Blitz. It should be a different situation versus Carolina.
- 38:26Speaker 4: We thought Carolina's defense was going to be a little
- 38:28Speaker 4: bit more feisty than this. But man, I'm telling you,
- 38:30Speaker 4: Minnesota should be different.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Devin Lloyd, I got to be honest. He did not
- 38:36Speaker 3: look good yesterday.
- 38:37Speaker 1: It was one week. Shout out Ventrell Miller.
- 38:39Speaker 3: I think he was the highest PFF grade for the
- 38:41Speaker 3: Jaguars yesterday.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I'm going to let them cook. I'm going to let
- 38:44Speaker 1: them cook.
- 38:45Speaker 5: But if you want to look at overreaction, think about this.
- 38:47Speaker 4: So you've got Chicago now facing that Flores and Minnesota defense,
- 38:51Speaker 4: and Carolina is now going to get Atlanta. So if
- 38:53Speaker 4: Atlanta still doesn't have a quarterback, Carolina's defense is probably
- 38:56Speaker 4: going to look much better in week two.
- 38:59Speaker 2: That is going to be an interesting thing to look for.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Evan is what defenses that we thought were going to
- 39:04Speaker 2: be good, actually show up. Dallas would be another one
- 39:08Speaker 2: we thought was going to not be elite, but be
- 39:10Speaker 2: a lot better than they were last year. And they
- 39:12Speaker 2: just let the giants do whatever they wanted last night,
- 39:14Speaker 2: but to expect, you know, this is one of the biggest.
- 39:17Speaker 2: incorrect reads that I made was that with the lack
- 39:21Speaker 2: of teams playing their guys in the preseason, that it
- 39:24Speaker 2: was going to impact offenses. And it turns out that
- 39:27Speaker 2: it was the other way around. Defenses seem to be impact.
- 39:30Speaker 2: by that. So is that something that you think we
- 39:32Speaker 2: should look for moving forward? Is the teams that we
- 39:35Speaker 2: think have defensive talent to whip back into shape in weeks, two, three, four.
- 39:41Speaker 2: That's something that we should keep our eye on.
- 39:44Speaker 4: Don't take it from me. I mean, I heard Mike
- 39:45Speaker 4: Tomlin talk about this on NBC last night, the way
- 39:47Speaker 4: they're doing things in the preseason. And the way they're
- 39:50Speaker 4: preparing seems to just be helping offenses earlier on. So
- 39:53Speaker 4: I think that's just something to look at, especially when
- 39:55Speaker 4: totals were like 43 and 22 week.
- 39:58Speaker 5: One prior to this.
- 39:59Speaker 4: We saw that a little bit out of the gate,
- 40:01Speaker 4: but yesterday offenses, as we've heard everywhere.
- 40:04Speaker 5: Through the roof, one more I'll give you.
- 40:06Speaker 4: So Houston, obviously in an absolute battle with Buffalo, letting
- 40:09Speaker 4: all those points up defense doesn't look fantastic. Other than
- 40:12Speaker 4: under D'Amico, when they allow 30 plus next week, they're eight,
- 40:15Speaker 4: no straight up six and two against the number. Obviously,
- 40:18Speaker 4: you've got Cincinnati here, which is a completely different animal,
- 40:21Speaker 4: but usually they show up the next week. But this
- 40:24Speaker 4: is a completely different offense with Burrow and such. So
- 40:27Speaker 4: be fascinating to see how that defense looks a week after.
- 40:30Speaker 2: That is an interesting one. Texans minus three in that game.
- 40:34Speaker 2: The Texans most points surrendered since week three of 2024.
- 40:38Speaker 2: That was one of the key stats that I wrote
- 40:42Speaker 2: down this weekend. Also, Evan, last thing for you. First
- 40:45Speaker 2: time head coaches making their debut. I wanted to track this.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Four and two against the spread. So those guys performed
- 40:51Speaker 2: quite well.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Can we put that in the AI model for next year?
- 40:56Speaker 2: That seems like more of an outlier, though. I don't
- 40:59Speaker 2: know if that's something that you already have.
- 41:01Speaker 5: You just didn't use Raiders Dolphins out the window, right?
- 41:06Speaker 2: No. Well, actually, I did. I guess I probably didn't
- 41:09Speaker 2: need to. So three and one, then, in that case.
- 41:12Speaker 5: There you go.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Good call. Double counted, double counted the Raiders and the, uh,
- 41:17Speaker 2: and the dolphins. Thanks so much, Evan. Be on the
- 41:19Speaker 2: lookout for his, uh, you, by the way, the new primer,
- 41:22Speaker 2: very slick and the, uh, it looks very different, but
- 41:26Speaker 2: what's been the feedback on that as you, as you
- 41:29Speaker 2: guys change the format.
- 41:31Speaker 5: Yeah, honestly, really good.
- 41:32Speaker 4: And people like all the different things with the weather
- 41:34Speaker 4: and the public and this and that. So easy to
- 41:37Speaker 4: access the information and honestly, all the weeks are there.
- 41:40Speaker 4: So I'm working on week two, no different, just reload.
- 41:43Speaker 4: See what I put in there.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:44Speaker 5: Cool.
- 41:45Speaker 2: So very, very easy to toggle even for a boomer
- 41:50Speaker 2: sub boomer like myself. All right. For our Monday night football,
- 41:55Speaker 2: same game parlay presented by draft Kings. The crown is yours.
- 42:08Speaker 2: So we'll put a three-legged together here, Kendra. The first
- 42:11Speaker 2: is obvious because we got a hit on this in
- 42:15Speaker 2: order for the first weekend to be a success for us.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Broncos plus two and a half. We're consensus on that.
- 42:21Speaker 2: So what else do you want to add to our
- 42:25Speaker 2: three leg same game parlay on Monday night? Broncos chiefs.
- 42:30Speaker 3: I think we should check in with draft Kings before
- 42:32Speaker 3: we get to our parlay. If you listen to this show,
- 42:35Speaker 3: you know football season is officially back. And to celebrate,
- 42:38Speaker 3: our sponsor, DraftKings, has an incredible offer for you. Sign
- 42:41Speaker 3: up today and spend $ 5 and you'll get $ 200 back

- 42:47Speaker 3: because DraftKings Sports is now available in all 50 states.

- 43:01Speaker 3: use promo code favorites when signing up with DraftKings. Again,
- 43:04Speaker 3: use code favorites when signing up and spend five bucks
- 43:07Speaker 3: to get 200 back in bonus rewards.
- 43:09Speaker 1: The crown is yours.
- 43:10Speaker 2: I was too excited for the same game parlay on
- 43:13Speaker 2: Monday night. Let's get to it. Presented by DraftKings Broncos
- 43:17Speaker 2: plus two and a half consensus pick for us. What
- 43:20Speaker 2: else would you like to bring to the table on
- 43:23Speaker 2: Monday night?
- 43:24Speaker 3: I would love to nominate a Jalen Waddle anytime.
- 43:27Speaker 1: This offense could have used him last year.
- 43:30Speaker 3: I think that that would have really put them over
- 43:31Speaker 3: the edge, probably would have put them into the Super Bowl.
- 43:34Speaker 3: I get the quarterback went down, whatever. I am still
- 43:36Speaker 3: in the camp that there wasn't that big of a
- 43:38Speaker 3: drop off. But I had A.J. Brown not gotten hurt
- 43:41Speaker 3: the other night. It would have been the same theory
- 43:43Speaker 3: for me right now. You got to feed your new guy,
- 43:45Speaker 3: got to make him confident, got to get him settled
- 43:47Speaker 3: in the offense. Plus 180 for a Jalen Waddle anytime.
- 43:50Speaker 3: I think we're going to get a little penguin tonight.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Okay. I like it. I got a touchdown in there
- 43:55Speaker 2: as well. I'm going Kenneth Walker. Anytime TD. I think
- 44:00Speaker 2: if this weekend taught us anything, Kendra, it's to take
- 44:03Speaker 2: the chalky running backs to score a touchdown in some variety.
- 44:07Speaker 2: You know, there was some public Joe out there. Who's like,
- 44:11Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't usually bet the NFL. Let's go.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Jonathan Taylor, Derek Henry, Jameer Gibbs, Bijan Robinson.
- 44:16Speaker 1: To score a touchdown parlay.
- 44:18Speaker 4: I did.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I saw, I saw some really chalky parlays.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Someone put down a dollar and won like 2,800 bucks
- 44:24Speaker 3: on draft Kings from some really, really, really chalky stuff.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Yep. Meanwhile, I am losing on a sharp five month
- 44:32Speaker 2: betting spree. So here we are, but I'm not losing tonight.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Kenneth Walker minus one 25, uh, getting him into the
- 44:40Speaker 2: end zone should give us at least One green check
- 44:44Speaker 2: on our board and defense in week one, but a rumor. Anyway,
- 44:49Speaker 2: what I love about this, these three picks put together
- 44:52Speaker 2: on draft Kings, Kenneth Walker, touchdown, Jalen Waddle, touchdown Broncos
- 44:56Speaker 2: cover two and a half, 10 to one.
- 44:59Speaker 1: I like draft Kings. I like, I really like that.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Why should you place bets at draft Kings? Because all
- 45:06Speaker 2: draft Kings customers are getting a profit boost every game
- 45:09Speaker 2: day in the month of September. And that is why
- 45:11Speaker 2: the crown wins. The favorites will return on Thursday as
- 45:16Speaker 2: we deep dive into week two of the NFL and
- 45:19Speaker 2: you can catch it right here on the Action Network
- 45:21Speaker 2: YouTube page. Thanks for following along live. This has been
- 45:23Speaker 2: a ton of fun. Good to be officially back into
- 45:27Speaker 2: the full swing of things. Shout out to our producers,
- 45:30Speaker 2: David Payne and Gifford Gould, Stats Hound, Evan Abrams, and
- 45:34Speaker 2: the queen of the pod, Kendra Middleton. Our show has
