- 0:00In the locker room. You just came out. What was the message the
- 0:03team in there? The message was, that's not the football team that I
- 0:08see every day in meetings at practice. But unfortunately that's the team we are
- 0:12right now. Because the scoreboard tells the story of who you are. We're
- 0:16known for two football team that just got beat was it thirty five to fourteen?
- 0:20Okay by Georgia State. We were pitiful on offense, we weren't good
- 0:24enough on defense. Uh, we turned the ball over. So the reality
- 0:30is is that's the football team we are right now. That's not the football
- 0:33team that I hope we become. But in order for us to get better,
- 0:37everybody has to look right here. Nobody can do that. Everybody has
- 0:42to do that, and uh, we have a lot of soul searching to
- 0:45do. And uh that's really it's really the message. Takeawan takes over in
- 0:50the second half at quarterback. Was there something out of him that you liked
- 0:53what you saw? Well? I mean, I you know, first of
- 0:55all, you know, Joe, Joe got hurt, and we lost Joe
- 0:58and we lost Alex and uh, but yeah, I mean I thought Tae
- 1:03Kwon brought us good energy. You know, I mean, look at his
- 1:07stats. I mean I'm not a big stack guy, but you know he
- 1:11was nineteen to thirty, two hundred and sixteen to two touchdowns. But to
- 1:15me, you know that's in Those are empty I'm not I'm not talking about
- 1:19take one now, I'm talking about the stats. Those are empty yards like
- 1:23those are just those are empty yards. The game was you know, I
- 1:26mean we were fighting, but it was a struggle. They they changed the
- 1:29way they played defense. So yeah, I mean yeah, I mean he
- 1:33he competed. I love the fact that he competed. It's hard for me
- 1:38find any positives right now. Was playing before he left the game, Well,
- 1:44we asked him to run the ball. You know, I saw all
- 1:46those those players where you know, design runs or RPOs or zone reads.
- 1:51I thought he was playing okay, But when you're not moving the ball,
- 1:55unfortunately, a lot it comes back to the to the quarterback. You know,
- 1:59I saw some guys open and that he didn't see open, like every
- 2:01one of us, like every single one of us. It's gonna get on
- 2:05that airplane tonight, are you guys getting on the airplane? Okay? We
- 2:07all got to be better, We all got to be better. We all
- 2:10got to be better, and it just you don't just show up on Saturday
- 2:14and be better. It starts, It starts, it's already started. It
- 2:16has to start already. It has to have already started. What do you
- 2:20think contribute to the run game struggling all the way they did? If I
- 2:23knew that answer, it's hard to First of all, they they played really
- 2:29hard and they tackled really well. But that's no excuse for us to run
- 2:31the ball, like I said, uh, twenty one thirty one times for
- 2:37fifty yards. I mean, you know, you'd have thought we were playing
- 2:39the freaking eighty five Bears or something out there. Okay, so give first
- 2:44of all, give them credit because they did a hell of a job.
- 2:47But we didn't execute, you know, and we didn't call the right plays,
- 2:51and we didn't call the right plays at the right time, or we
- 2:53didn't practice the right looks and practice because we didn't script right. So you
- 2:55know it, it's it falls on all of us to do better. With
- 3:00Alex going down, can you shine a little light obviously he's new to the
- 3:02program on the kind of person that he is. Oh, he's you know,
- 3:06he's a gonna be a really good player for us. You know,
- 3:07he's really kind of new to football, but he's big, and he's physical
- 3:10and he's athletic. Went over there and uh almost lost to his He he
- 3:15dissocated his knee cap. So his knee cap was over here and it was
- 3:20kind of ugly. And when they went to straighten his leg, they were
- 3:23able to get it back. So this is not it doesn't appear like it's
- 3:25a surgical thing. You know, it could be a three, four or
- 3:29five week type of deal. We need him. He's already fought through one
- 3:32kind of knee injury for us. So you know, the great thing about
- 3:36Alex is that he will be fully vested, fully invested in getting himself back
- 3:42onto the field as quickly as you can. He's that type of person.
- 3:45What did you see on that first long touchdown run that they had, You
- 3:47know, what was the breakdown there? Going up the middle. It seemed
- 3:50like he was untouched. Yeah, it was, it was I'm thinking it
- 3:54was a it was a quarterback. It was his own read. Quarterback,
- 3:57it was not his own read. They weren't empty, okay, and they
- 4:00ran We caught inside zone quarterback inside zone, and we got out of our
- 4:04gap, and when you can't get out of your gap, when you're playing
- 4:06a quarterback like that. The guy has really good speed. I mean he
- 4:11can he can flat fly straight. He's not as shifty as a guy we
- 4:14saw it last week, but he's streaking fast and he's six four two twenty
- 4:16five. So it's discouraging, you know, I mean the last touchdown.
- 4:23You know, when you when you when you're playing defense, it takes all
- 4:27eleven to be on the same page every play for it to work. And
- 4:30when you're not on the same page and you're playing a team like that,
- 4:32or someone gets out of their gap, you get exposed. And they exposed
- 4:35us tonight. So it's very discouraging, and we got to find a way
- 4:40to fight back,
