Today we're adding two more body parts: mouth and nose. Let's start with the mouth. Luna: Okay, mouth. Is it similar to anything? Lucas: Not really. The word for mouth is አፍ. Say it with me: አፍ. Luna: አፍ. Lucas: Good! Now, if you want to say 'my mouth', you add a suffix. አፍ becomes አፌ. Try that. Luna: አፌ. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's make a sentence. 'My mouth hurts.' In Amharic, that's አፌ ያቃጥላል. Luna: አፌ ያቃጥላል. Is that like the same word for head hurting? Lucas: Exactly! We used ያቃጥላል for head too. So 'my X hurts' uses the same verb. Try it once more. Luna: አፌ ያቃጥላል. Lucas: Excellent. Now let's move to nose. The word for nose is አፍንጫ. Luna: አፍንጫ. That's a long word. Lucas: It is. Break it down: አፍ-ን-ጫ. Say it slowly. Luna: አፍ... ን... ጫ. አፍንጫ. Lucas: Great. Now if you want to describe someone's nose, you can use our adjective ትልቅ, meaning big. So 'your nose is big' — polite form for 'your' is -ህ. So አፍንጫህ ትልቅ ነው. Luna: አፍንጫህ ትልቅ ነው. That means 'your nose is big'. Can I say it about Lucas? Lucas: Sure, but I'll pretend you're talking about someone else. Now let's practice all four phrases together. Luna: Okay, so we have አፍ and አፍንጫ. Then አፌ ያቃጥላል and አፍንጫህ ትልቅ ነው. Lucas: Exactly. Let's do a quick scene. Imagine you're at a clinic. You say: አፌ ያቃጥላል. Try it. Luna: አፌ ያቃጥላል.
