1:52
Speaker 3: we've been reporting on for the last well over twenty
1:54
Speaker 3: four hours now, but the cleanup does continue. Coming up
1:58
Speaker 3: a little bit later on, we're going to talk to
1:59
Speaker 3: making it his second straight appearance on the show for
2:03
Speaker 3: two straight days. Lance Wheeler from the Kannah Canty Commission
2:06
Speaker 3: already had him scheduled to be on today and then
2:08
Speaker 3: yesterday of course we had a flooding situation. We checked
2:11
Speaker 3: in with him, so he's going to be on the show.
2:13
Speaker 3: Several things I want to talk about with Commissioner Wheeler,
2:15
Speaker 3: including the flooding aspect of things. It was actually discussed
2:19
Speaker 3: at the Canaw County Commission last night, So we're going
2:22
Speaker 3: to talk to a Commissioner Wheeler about that. Plus we're
2:24
Speaker 3: going to head into your weekend talking a little sports
2:27
Speaker 3: with the Jim Workman from Wally and Whippies. He'll be
2:29
Speaker 3: stopping by, of course it is Super Bowl weekend, and
2:33
Speaker 3: also earlier in the week the WVU football schedule was
2:36
Speaker 3: finalized under the returning coach Ridge Rodriguez, and we're gonna
2:40
Speaker 3: talk to Jim about that. Plus your calls and text

3:01
Speaker 3: Hannovia text late last night and well Ryan has tried.
3:06
Speaker 3: We've not been able to reach hand this morning. So
3:08
Speaker 3: but as I always do, I already have the dog
3:10
Speaker 3: taken care of. Our dog of the week, our pet
3:13
Speaker 3: of the week, I should say, and as always the
3:14
Speaker 3: pictures posted on Dave Allen Radio, on Facebook and also
3:18
Speaker 3: on x the Yardist formerly known as Twitter. Our dog
3:21
Speaker 3: this week's name is Sabrina. Now she is fully sponsored,
3:26
Speaker 3: so she's also that means she's free. She is around
3:30
Speaker 3: fifty pounds right about there. She is one year and
3:35
Speaker 3: three months old. They say that she loves the snow,
3:39
Speaker 3: which well that makes one of us. And she also
3:42
Speaker 3: loves running in the snow. Probably, they say, needs a
3:46
Speaker 3: fenced in yard because she does have a lot of energy.
3:49
Speaker 3: And they report because people always want to know our
3:51
Speaker 3: pets going to be kid friendly. She's had some bad
3:55
Speaker 3: experiences with little kids in the past, so probably with
3:58
Speaker 3: the older kids to be okay. So Hannah told me
4:01
Speaker 3: maybe age ten and up should be okay. Probably just
4:05
Speaker 3: be on the safe side there. And Sabrina can be
4:08
Speaker 3: a little bashful at first. She loves other playful dogs.
4:12
Speaker 3: And check this out, Ryan. She loves to eat boiled chicken,
4:15
Speaker 3: So there you go, There you go. Sabrina is our
4:18
Speaker 3: pet of the weekend. She again. Her picture is posted
4:21
Speaker 3: on Dave Allen Radio, on Facebook and on Axe the
4:24
Speaker 3: Artists from the Known to Twitter. So go check out Sabrina. Now.
4:27
Speaker 3: Yesterday there was some news that came out early yesterday morning,
4:30
Speaker 3: just like a lot of kanav Valley, some flooding concerns
4:33
Speaker 3: in and around the shelter yesterday. No dogs were injured
4:38
Speaker 3: and if anything came they actually moved the pets to
4:41
Speaker 3: a higher elevation there at the shelter and if anything
4:45
Speaker 3: good came out of this. Very rarely does anything ever
4:48
Speaker 3: good come out of a flooding situation. I do understand
4:52
Speaker 3: and talking to Hannah yesterday, that they had I think
4:55
Speaker 3: it was ten pets yesterday that were either adopted or
4:59
Speaker 3: at least fostered out. I don't know if it had
5:02
Speaker 3: to do with the high waters or what, but for
5:04
Speaker 3: some reason, and you know, they're pretty much at capacity
5:07
Speaker 3: year round anyway up there, but they were able to
5:10
Speaker 3: get to ten. I think there was the number ten
5:12
Speaker 3: dogs out the door yesterday at the Canawa County Animal Shelter,
5:15
Speaker 3: so that is certainly some good news. Also, one of
5:18
Speaker 3: the big events with the Animal Shelter is the annual
5:21
Speaker 3: Tuxes and Tails event. That is that has been set
5:24
Speaker 3: and they've got information on the dates and times and
5:26
Speaker 3: everything available on the website. That's always one of I'm sorry,
5:29
Speaker 3: on the social media, probably on the website too, but
5:31
Speaker 3: it's also on the social media, and you know, that's
5:34
Speaker 3: one of the big one of the premiere events. Charleston
5:36
Speaker 3: dues people go all out for the Animal Shelters Tuxes
5:39
Speaker 3: and Tails, and they've got the date set. You can
5:42
Speaker 3: check that out on their Facebook page for more information there.
5:46
Speaker 3: And also another another note here is if you are
5:50
Speaker 3: of course, it's a Super Bowl weekend and it's going
5:52
Speaker 3: to dominate a lot of the conversation over the next
5:54
Speaker 3: forty eight to seventy two hours or so. There are
5:58
Speaker 3: a great number of animals that are involved in the
6:01
Speaker 3: annual Puppy Bowl that kind of coincides with the Super Bowl. Remember,
6:05
Speaker 3: there is a dog from the Kanaw Humane Association that
6:08
Speaker 3: is a part of Puppy Bowl. Now I don't exactly
6:11
Speaker 3: know the name of the dog, but it's one of
6:14
Speaker 3: them I'll try to get the information out to you
6:16
Speaker 3: on social media. So that having been set, hold on
6:19
Speaker 3: a second, I mean I got a couple of text here. Well, sorry,
6:21
Speaker 3: Hannah's not available to oh okay, Well, I appreciate Texture
6:26
Speaker 3: just sent me the information here, okay. Texas Alaska is
6:31
Speaker 3: a thirteen year old puppy from the Kanaw Charleston Humane Association,
6:35
Speaker 3: featured on the Adoptable segment of the Puppy Bowl. The
6:38
Speaker 3: qute was born on Halloween. Nothing spooky about him, a
6:42
Speaker 3: fuzzy bundle of love. And they give me more details
6:46
Speaker 3: on that, so we don't know. The Texture wanted me
6:51
Speaker 3: to ask Hannah. Unfortunately, Hannah's not here as to what
6:54
Speaker 3: time it would be part of the Puppy Bowl. But yeah,
6:56
Speaker 3: Alaska is the name of the dog. Apparently that's going
6:59
Speaker 3: to be part of peop Bowl at some point from
7:01
Speaker 3: the Humane Association, so look for Alaska text her. I
7:04
Speaker 3: appreciate you bringing that up. All right, So again let's
7:08
Speaker 3: review our pet of the week, and again the picture
7:10
Speaker 3: posted over on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook and at
7:13
Speaker 3: Dave A seventy on X Sabrina. She is fully sponsored,
7:17
Speaker 3: so she is free around fifty pounds. She is a
7:21
Speaker 3: one year and three months old. She loves the snow,
7:25
Speaker 3: loves to run in the snow. She also loves boiled chicken,
7:28
Speaker 3: so keep that in mind. Probably needs a fenced in yard.
7:31
Speaker 3: And again, if you got little kids, probably not. Sabrena
7:35
Speaker 3: is probably not the dog for you. But any child
7:38
Speaker 3: that is a tenor above, Hannah says, should be okay.
7:41
Speaker 3: Can be a little bit bashful at first, but again
7:43
Speaker 3: does get along well with other dogs. So go check
7:45
Speaker 3: out Sabrina. Let's go. We've had a really good run
7:48
Speaker 3: folks the last couple of weeks of getting our pets
7:50
Speaker 3: adopted here, so that is your assignment is let's go get.
7:54
Speaker 3: Let's go get Sabrina adopted. Picture posted on Dave Allen
7:57
Speaker 3: Radio on Facebook and at Dave A seventy on Twitter.
8:01
Speaker 3: I may have said thirteen years old, thirteen months old,
8:03
Speaker 3: thirteen week old. I'm sorry, thirteen week old. That's how
8:09
Speaker 3: old Alaska is. I may have said thirteen months or
8:11
Speaker 3: thirteen years or thirteen whatevers. It's thirteen week thirteen week
8:14
Speaker 3: old puppy that will be part of puppy Bolt. Now.
8:18
Speaker 3: I do have another little side note related to animals.
8:20

8:22

12:45
Speaker 3: now for the second stray day. Kenna County Commissioner Lance Wheeler, Commission,
12:47
Speaker 3: Good morning, Welcome to the show.
12:49
Speaker 11: Good morning, Dave, thanks for having me on.
12:50
Speaker 3: Well start, of course, yesterday I already had your scheduled
12:53
Speaker 3: to be on today and then we forged you in
12:55
Speaker 3: the action Action yesterday because of the flooding. I know
12:57
Speaker 3: it was discussed at a length that the County commission
13:00
Speaker 3: meeting last night. Let's talk about where we are right now.
13:04
Speaker 3: I know that I was listening to the Morning News
13:06
Speaker 3: this morning. They talked that, you know, the rivers are
13:08
Speaker 3: starting to go down. I know there was some concern
13:10
Speaker 3: with areas on the Elk River and things of that nature.
13:12
Speaker 3: What can you tell us this morning.
13:14
Speaker 8: Yeah, So, first off, I want to say the Governor
13:16
Speaker 8: Jim just excuse me, Governor Patrick Morrissey in his office
13:20
Speaker 8: sent out a declaration of emergency here in Kannall County
13:24
Speaker 8: and Cabal County as well. And so what that means
13:26
Speaker 8: is that the state is going to be sending resources
13:29
Speaker 8: to help with assessments and potential clean up in some
13:32
Speaker 8: of these areas that was afflicted. You know, what we
13:34
Speaker 8: saw was again another flood that we've always talked about
13:38
Speaker 8: here in Kannall County. It's always been eastern Connell County.
13:40
Speaker 8: Those are the ones that are hit the hardest. And
13:43
Speaker 8: so what we saw kind of on this one was
13:45
Speaker 8: not only eastern Kennell County, but we saw Sissonville area
13:47
Speaker 8: was probably impacted the most of everybody. We saw western
13:50
Speaker 8: part of the county. So Tornado, Saint Albans, Nice Road,
13:52
Speaker 8: cross lanes and some of these areas. Yet again, our
13:56
Speaker 8: areas that have not been afflicted by flooding in pass
14:00
Speaker 8: and so this is kind of new territory for emergency management.
14:03
Speaker 8: It's kind of new territory for the property owners, you know,
14:07
Speaker 8: so they have a lot of questions, you know, where
14:10
Speaker 8: do I go for assistance? Where do I go for help?
14:12
Speaker 8: So right now, what we're doing is we're doing what
14:14
Speaker 8: we call windshield assessment. We're driving around with Emergency Management,
14:18
Speaker 8: our plane department, and we're looking at the damage. We're
14:21
Speaker 8: talking to property owners, and we're assessing exactly where that
14:24
Speaker 8: damage is.
14:25
Speaker 11: When it comes to help.
14:27
Speaker 8: You know, what we have to do is we have
14:28
Speaker 8: to look to see is there a threshold that the
14:30
Speaker 8: FEMA will pay back and declaring this a natural disaster.
14:34
Speaker 8: And so that's our hard work that we have to
14:36
Speaker 8: do is prove that case. We're starting that right now.
14:40
Speaker 8: But I've always said when it comes to a natural disaster,
14:43
Speaker 8: it's not necessarily the damage that's caused from the flooding,
14:47
Speaker 8: it's the hard work comes in at afterwards, right, And
14:50
Speaker 8: so it's a lot of this assessment, it's a lot
14:52
Speaker 8: of this talking to property owners and getting this data
14:56
Speaker 8: collected so that way we could make a case if
14:58
Speaker 8: we're going to go to the federal government for assistance.
15:02
Speaker 3: I want to talk about the Culvert situation because this
15:04
Speaker 3: is not unique to Kanawha County and I'm from southern
15:07
Speaker 3: West Virginia. We see a lot of flooding down there too,
15:09
Speaker 3: And every time it's not always now what we're looking
15:11
Speaker 3: at when we after the rains or after the big
15:13
Speaker 3: snow melts or whatever. River flooding. We understand that, but
15:16
Speaker 3: a lot of times, it just seems to me the commissioner,
15:18
Speaker 3: that so many of these things could be prevented, and
15:22
Speaker 3: it's not always on the government to do that, you know.
15:24
Speaker 3: Sometimes it's on the individuals, you know, to make sure
15:26
Speaker 3: that your the storm drains are cleaned out, or that
15:28
Speaker 3: areas on your roads are cleaned out of your ditches
15:30
Speaker 3: or whatever. But it just seems like we keep going
15:32
Speaker 3: back to this on the culvert situation.
15:34
Speaker 8: You know, I've been on your show before when we
15:37
Speaker 8: didn't even have flooding at the time, and I said that,
15:39
Speaker 8: and I said, culverts and ditches being filled with debris,
15:43
Speaker 8: sticks mud being clogged are a lot of the reasons
15:48
Speaker 8: that we see the flooding here in Kannaw County that
15:51
Speaker 8: we see today. And I think that that is the
15:53
Speaker 8: biggest issue now when we look at the responsibility.
15:56
Speaker 11: You're right, some of.
15:57
Speaker 8: That's private property, and you know, we can't go in
16:00
Speaker 8: and spend tax payer dollars on private property that's actually
16:03
Speaker 8: illegal by state code. And some of this is actually
16:06
Speaker 8: most of it is actually the responsibility of Department Highways.
16:10
Speaker 11: Now I'll give them a little bit of.
16:13
Speaker 8: Cover in the fact of that code says that they're
16:16
Speaker 8: responsible for all the culverts and ditches across the state
16:20
Speaker 8: of West Virginia. I mean, the amount of resources that
16:23
Speaker 8: one department would have to have to be able to
16:24
Speaker 8: clean those all out, it doesn't make sense. What we
16:27
Speaker 8: need to do is we really need to look at
16:28
Speaker 8: government and say, hey, how can we all work together.
16:31
Speaker 8: How can the county commission in their respective county come
16:35
Speaker 8: in and work with a state agency and seeing how
16:38
Speaker 8: we can work together and actually create these culverts to
16:43
Speaker 8: work first off, to unclog them so that they're working
16:46
Speaker 8: properly during the flood. Because we can't just say, oh,
16:49
Speaker 8: the storm's coming tomorrow, let's go out and clean all
16:51
Speaker 8: the culverts in a nine hundred and eleven square mile county.
16:55
Speaker 8: It's impossible, And so we really need to start looking
16:57
Speaker 8: at how can government actually be better at helping out
17:01
Speaker 8: not just private property owners with any assistance, but also
17:05
Speaker 8: these ditches and culverts which are in right of ways,
17:07
Speaker 8: which are the responsibility Department Highways. So we actually had
17:10
Speaker 8: this conversation last night Commissioner Slango, Commissioner Tenant, myself and
17:14
Speaker 8: we talked to CW Sigmun, our emergency management director, and
17:17
Speaker 8: you know, he said, I know where a lot of
17:18
Speaker 8: these culverts and ditches are. The Department of Powways doesn't
17:21
Speaker 8: know where those are. You know, they have to cover
17:24
Speaker 8: an entire state. We need to start working together. And
17:26
Speaker 8: I think that's what we instructed CW to do. Go out,
17:29
Speaker 8: talk with Department Pileways, get with planning, and figure out
17:33
Speaker 8: to create a plan to bring back to this Commission
17:35
Speaker 8: that we can start being proactive when it comes to
17:37
Speaker 8: cleaning these culverts and ditches. You know, we're not blaming
17:40
Speaker 8: anyone like a property owner, We're not blaming Department of Highways.
17:44
Speaker 8: What we're saying is it's time that we work together
17:47
Speaker 8: for the emptterment of the entire county and its people.
17:50
Speaker 8: And if we're not able to do that, then we're
17:52
Speaker 8: just going to continue to see these flooding and flooding
17:54
Speaker 8: and flooding.
17:54
Speaker 11: Over and over again. You know, we're not going to
17:56
Speaker 11: prevent all flooding.
17:57
Speaker 8: But I do believe that a lot of these areas
17:58
Speaker 8: that got flooded, it's preventable if we can just work
18:01
Speaker 8: together and actually be proactive in cleaning out these culverts
18:04
Speaker 8: and ditches.
18:04
Speaker 3: So how do we get everybody on the same page?
18:06
Speaker 3: There there's the fifty million dollar question, Commissioner, how do
18:10
Speaker 3: we get Department of Highways? How do we get the
18:12
Speaker 3: County Commission, how do we get emergency How do we
18:14
Speaker 3: get everybody on the same page.
18:15
Speaker 8: I don't think anyone's reluctant to do it. I just
18:17
Speaker 8: don't think that's been done yet. And that's what we
18:18
Speaker 8: said last night. That's what this commission is doing. Is
18:21
Speaker 8: going to be moving forward, is you know, saying let's
18:23
Speaker 8: let's start those conversations. You know, I've always said things
18:26
Speaker 8: great things can be done if nobody wants to take
18:29
Speaker 8: the credit card, right, So we need to just work together.
18:33
Speaker 8: Understand why we're working together, and that's to prevent further
18:36
Speaker 8: flooding and being the embronment of the entire county and
18:38
Speaker 8: it's people. And if we can move forward that I
18:40
Speaker 8: think we can start seeing some real progress. Now, it's
18:42
Speaker 8: going to take time. This is again a large county,
18:45
Speaker 8: a lot of ditches, a lot of culverts. But as
18:47
Speaker 8: long as we start the progress progress now, I think
18:50
Speaker 8: we're going to be able to see a lot of
18:52
Speaker 8: good things that can happen, and we'll see a lot
18:54
Speaker 8: less flooding in future weather events.
18:57
Speaker 3: And I do want to make sure that people realize
18:59
Speaker 3: that there are sometimes I mean, yeah, I didn't want
19:03
Speaker 3: to jump the gun to be too hasty there to
19:04
Speaker 3: say this is all on somebody, whether it's Department of Highways,
19:07
Speaker 3: because mother nature does what mother nature wants to do.
19:11
Speaker 3: And when you get three inches of rain, as some
19:14
Speaker 3: people did in a short amount of time, you're going
19:17
Speaker 3: to have problems. If you have the most the most
19:20
Speaker 3: pristine of plans, you're gonna have problems with that much rain.
19:23
Speaker 8: Absolutely, there's there's only so much you can do with
19:25
Speaker 8: so much water coming in at one time. But I
19:28
Speaker 8: do think that there's areas that we can mitigate before
19:32
Speaker 8: a flood comes and it will help either reduce or
19:37
Speaker 8: eliminate that flooding in that area. There's nothing wrong with
19:40
Speaker 8: us asking the question what more can we do as
19:43
Speaker 8: a government official, And so that's what this commission has asked.
19:47
Speaker 8: Our emergency management c W. Sigmund and our planning department
19:51
Speaker 8: to do is to get together, work together and figure
19:54
Speaker 8: out things that we can do to lessen the burden
19:56
Speaker 8: of flooding in Kannall County.
19:58
Speaker 3: Talking again with the Cannah Cana Comisioner Land Wheeler to
20:00
Speaker 3: the Dave Allen Show in five and E Live is
20:02
Speaker 3: brought too far by Snap Fitness. Snap offers a wide
20:05
Speaker 3: array of professional wellness services, customized personal training, license recovery experts,
20:09
Speaker 3: and a staff of dieticians. Five convenient locations too here
20:12
Speaker 3: in Charleston, also Hurricane Winfield, Barbersville, and Milton. Visits snapfitness
20:16
Speaker 3: dot com for more details. And I do want to
20:18
Speaker 3: say if you want to read some more of the
20:21
Speaker 3: actual stories of the people impacted by the flooding yesterday,
20:23
Speaker 3: Chris Lawrence has got a great story at wv metronews
20:26
Speaker 3: dot com. He was actually out there when the morning
20:28
Speaker 3: news ended yesterday talking to these people and going in
20:32
Speaker 3: and interviewing them, and there's some pictures and things of
20:35
Speaker 3: that nature on the website. We'll move ahead just a
20:38
Speaker 3: little bit talk about something a little bit happier, and
20:42
Speaker 3: that is getting outdoors and enjoying the great outdoors. And
20:46
Speaker 3: I understand you're going to be doing some stocking, some
20:49
Speaker 3: fishing holes, so to speak.
20:50
Speaker 11: Yeah, you're absolutely right.
20:52
Speaker 8: Who doesn't want to go out here in West Virginia
20:54
Speaker 8: and the great outdoors, Enjoy the fresh air, enjoy the mountains,
20:57
Speaker 8: enjoy the waters. So this can all kind of commit
21:00
Speaker 8: For years now has created a program of stalking the
21:04
Speaker 8: Blue Creek River over in the Clendenon area with trout
21:08
Speaker 8: and we do that in the spring, and we usually
21:10
Speaker 8: do it in the fall as well. And this is
21:12
Speaker 8: just a great opportunity for people to come out enjoy
21:15
Speaker 8: the outdoors in the local area and these unincorporated areas
21:18
Speaker 8: that we serve as a kind of commission and give
21:21
Speaker 8: them an opportunity that they can enjoy West Virginia and
21:25
Speaker 8: these outdoor activities. But it's not just about them. What
21:28
Speaker 8: we see when we do this is they bring their kids.
21:31
Speaker 8: This is for the kids. This is for kids can
21:33
Speaker 8: come out with their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, you know,
21:37
Speaker 8: family members enjoy a moment together being outdoors, getting off
21:42
Speaker 8: an Xbox and a PlayStation and just getting outdoors and
21:45
Speaker 8: learning how to fish and just having that moment with
21:48
Speaker 8: those memories with the family and so us doing this
21:51
Speaker 8: as giving that back to the community. We see tremendous
21:54
Speaker 8: amount of support people coming out not just on the
21:56
Speaker 8: day that we stalk, but throughout the entire weeks ahead
22:00
Speaker 8: of people telling us, hey, we went out and we
22:02
Speaker 8: caught a trout over in a blue creek. You know,
22:04
Speaker 8: I my office. We move forward to looking at Meadowood
22:07
Speaker 8: over in Tornado. Again, that's another unincorporated area. Meadowood is
22:10
Speaker 8: a park owned by the County Commission through a parks
22:13
Speaker 8: and wreck and we have a nice little pond on there,
22:15
Speaker 8: and I said, well, why don't we just stalk this
22:17
Speaker 8: as well so we can serve this area. So we
22:19
Speaker 8: started doing that. So with this in the spring, we're
22:22
Speaker 8: going to be stalking three thousand pounds of trouts in
22:25
Speaker 8: the Blue Creek area in Clendenon, and then for the
22:28
Speaker 8: Meadowood Park pond in Tornado, we're going to be stalking
22:31
Speaker 8: I believe it's one hundred pounds of catfish and bass.
22:35
Speaker 8: And so this is again another opportunity to come out
22:37
Speaker 8: with the kids, come out yourself, make sure you have
22:41
Speaker 8: your fishing license, but make you come on out, enjoy
22:43
Speaker 8: the outdoors and just share some memories.
22:45
Speaker 11: With the family again.
22:47
Speaker 3: Lance Wheeler is with us, and there are so many
22:49
Speaker 3: opportunities for people to get out in Kanawha County and
22:52
Speaker 3: with the winner that we've had, you know, I have
22:56
Speaker 3: a bill love any sense at all, they're going to
22:58
Speaker 3: want to get outdoors, even a fan of the great
23:00
Speaker 3: indoors like me. You know, I'm thinking I should probably
23:04
Speaker 3: get out a little bit more because there's a lot
23:06
Speaker 3: of things to do here in Conall County.
23:07
Speaker 8: And see, that's the thing about Kannall County is a
23:09
Speaker 8: lot you know, we are very royal, but we're very
23:11
Speaker 8: urban at the same time, and so we have that
23:13
Speaker 8: perfect mixture. You know, Dave, if you want to go
23:15
Speaker 8: out the outdoors and be on a dirt bike or
23:17
Speaker 8: go fishing in a pond, you can do that. And
23:19
Speaker 8: then later that evening you can go to a restaurant
23:21
Speaker 8: with your family in Charleston and join the downtown street. So,
23:25
Speaker 8: you know, Kanaal County is a beautiful area. We have
23:28
Speaker 8: everything going for us. We really just need to market
23:31
Speaker 8: it more. And you know I mentioned our Conventions Visitors
23:33
Speaker 8: Bureau that we just started and got a credit for.
23:35
Speaker 8: That's going to be part of that program of not
23:37
Speaker 8: just educating people to come to Kanall County for as
23:40
Speaker 8: a tourist, but to really experience all the local businesses
23:43
Speaker 8: and opportunities that we have in this county for our
23:45
Speaker 8: locals as well.
23:46
Speaker 3: And I don't want to you know, I think I'm
23:49
Speaker 3: going to have you on a show in the future
23:51
Speaker 3: because there is maybe some announcements coming out about some
23:54
Speaker 3: more things that are going to be coming to Kanawha County.
23:56
Speaker 3: You can't talk about it right now, but you're excited
23:58
Speaker 3: about about some stuff there commiss You know.
24:00
Speaker 8: I announced the hat film McCoy Dirt Bike Trails right
24:03
Speaker 8: here on this show. That took two years of planning
24:07
Speaker 8: and it took about six to eight months of construction.
24:10
Speaker 8: These projects take time. A lot of people ask, well,
24:12
Speaker 8: what's next. Well, those announcements are coming. I think we
24:16
Speaker 8: might be able to announce next week. But we have
24:17
Speaker 8: a really big project that we're working on for outdoor
24:20
Speaker 8: recreation that we've been talking with some of the partners involved,
24:24
Speaker 8: and I'm very excited about it. I think it's a
24:26
Speaker 8: wonderful opportunity and I can't wait to have the announcement
24:28
Speaker 8: and we're going to do it right here on your show.
24:30
Speaker 11: Dave.
24:30
Speaker 3: All right, sounds good. I appreciate that. Yeah, and you
24:33
Speaker 3: guys to let me know what day so then I
24:34
Speaker 3: can tease it and we can and we can we
24:36
Speaker 3: can sell more AD dollars on.
24:37
Speaker 11: Oh I will.
24:38
Speaker 8: I will let you know as the more the more
24:40
Speaker 8: listeners you have for the announcement, the better I want
24:42
Speaker 8: everybody to hear about this announcement.
24:44
Speaker 3: All right, I'll get with you later and we'll kind
24:45
Speaker 3: of tease it just to what day you're gonna be on,
24:47
Speaker 3: maybe one day next week or the week.
24:48
Speaker 11: After you think, or yes, I think one day next
24:50
Speaker 11: week is going to be perfect.
24:51
Speaker 3: All right, CONNC Count of commission Lance Wheeler, there's always
24:54
Speaker 3: a pleasure to have you in the show man. I appreciate.
24:55
Speaker 2: Oh.
24:56
Speaker 3: By the way, I forgot to ask you the big question. Yeah,
24:58
Speaker 3: Kansas City or Philly? Who you take.
25:00
Speaker 8: I'm going to take Philly because as Barkley's story I
25:04
Speaker 8: think is remarkable. It's a great story. And that's that's
25:07
Speaker 8: that's how remarkable that story is. Because I'm a Cowboys fan, ye,
25:10
Speaker 8: and I'm rooting for Philly.
25:11
Speaker 3: How did Kanawah County get and I don't I not
25:13
Speaker 3: having talked to Commissioner tenant about this, But how did
25:17
Speaker 3: Kanah County get at least two of the three county
25:20
Speaker 3: commissioners to be Cowboys fans?
25:21
Speaker 8: Because we're really good at being an elected official, being transparent,
25:27
Speaker 8: being responsible with taxpayer dollars, but we're terrible at picking
25:31
Speaker 8: football fans.
25:32
Speaker 3: Okay, So you're going with Philly.
25:34
Speaker 8: I'm going with Philly. Barkley story is absolutely amazing. And
25:37
Speaker 8: if it wasn't for that those behind the scenes of
25:39
Speaker 8: his free agency, I think the story for Barkley would
25:42
Speaker 8: be completely different today that he left for a Super
25:44
Speaker 8: Bowl team.
25:45
Speaker 11: This was him being jail, you know.
25:47
Speaker 8: I think this story is incredible for him, and I
25:49
Speaker 8: just want to support Barkley.
25:51
Speaker 3: All right, there you go. All right, So there's our
25:52
Speaker 3: first prediction. Commissioner Lance Wheeler says, Philadelphia wins. All right,
25:56
Speaker 3: Commissioner'll talk to you soon. Man, Thanks a lot. But

Speaker 3: As a text, when disasters happened in West Virginia, Republicans
30:49
Speaker 3: come hat in hand for federal assistance mainly provided by
30:52
Speaker 3: blue states. As a texture, tex says Dave Morrisy talking
30:58
Speaker 3: about illegals in West Virginia stopping fentanyl coming into the
31:01

31:04
Speaker 3: passed out like candy on his watch, two thousand deaths
31:08
Speaker 3: per year, the number one killer of all drugs on
31:10
Speaker 3: the streets. As a Texter, Texas Dave, if the state
31:13
Speaker 3: legislature could work for the people like Kanawha County Commission does,
31:16
Speaker 3: we would all be better off. No social issues as
31:20
Speaker 3: a text. Coming up a Monday show, Delicate Kaylie Young
31:22
Speaker 3: is here. Of course, the session will begin at the
31:25
Speaker 3: capitol next Week's State of the State and all that
31:27
Speaker 3: good stuff. About a month late because they do that
31:29
Speaker 3: when a new governor comes in. But we'll talk to
31:32
Speaker 3: Delicate Kaylee Young from Americana add County and get her
31:34
Speaker 3: thoughts on the upcoming session. Stay Treasurer Larry Pack will
31:37
Speaker 3: be stopping by the studio on Monday, as will former
31:41
Speaker 3: Charleston Meir Danny Jones. We had to have him rescheduled.
31:44
Speaker 3: I originally had Danny on the show yesterday. He did
31:47
Speaker 3: make his appearance on talk Line, but I couldn't have
31:49
Speaker 3: him on the show yesterday because we kind of spent
31:51
Speaker 3: the whole show talking about flooding issues yesterday. But I
31:53
Speaker 3: do have Danny backing studio, A grilled Danny on some
31:56
Speaker 3: local stuff. Danny likes to talk some national stuff and
31:58
Speaker 3: that's good, but I got some local stuff for mister
32:00
Speaker 3: Jones I want to talk about coming up on Monday's show.
32:04
Speaker 3: One other news note, it was announced yesterday that Paula
32:07
Speaker 3: Potter will be the new Canawh County School Superintendent. She'll
32:10
Speaker 3: be taking over for the retiring Tom Williams. Kat Skelton
32:13
Speaker 3: has a story posted about that over at wv metronews
32:16
Speaker 3: dot com. Actually talked with Superintendent Potter yesterday and she
32:20
Speaker 3: will be on the show next week. I think Thursday
32:23
Speaker 3: was the day that we decided on, so you want
32:25
Speaker 3: to see what she has to say. Again, we have
32:27
Speaker 3: the story posted by Kat skeltonwv Metronews dot com. The
32:30

32:32
Speaker 3: expanded an interview on Thursday's show with the new superintendent
32:36

Speaker 3: Let's welcome in our good friend Jim Workman from These

Speaker 3: States Premiere Sports Publication. Willian Weippees, how you doing.
33:17
Speaker 5: Hey doing great? Dave, appreciate being in here. This is
33:20
Speaker 5: one of the highlights of my week.
33:22
Speaker 3: You probably need to get a life, Jim, not gonna
33:24
Speaker 3: say that. And Instagram, okay, on Instagram, ye see. If
33:28
Speaker 3: there's so many things out there for people to do
33:31
Speaker 3: what I do, and just for general you know, normal
33:34
Speaker 3: people too, not people like me, I mean normal people.
33:36
Speaker 3: I mean you got the Facebook, you got you know,
33:38
Speaker 3: the Snapchat, you got, the Instagram, you got what's there's
33:42
Speaker 3: a telegram now and been there like a blue sky
33:45
Speaker 3: or something like that. Now, how do you how do
33:46
Speaker 3: you keep up with a you're a media mogul, how
33:48
Speaker 3: do you keep up with all this?
33:49
Speaker 5: You know, I'm not a big fan of Facebook and
33:53
Speaker 5: Twitter as far as I forget about it. This discussion
33:56
Speaker 5: goes on like with politics and things like that. I mean,
34:00
Speaker 5: but it's a necessary evil, I think. To get your
34:03
Speaker 5: name out there, to get your brand out there, to
34:05
Speaker 5: get your content out there, you have to be on there.
34:08
Speaker 5: So that's that's as much as I engage on there
34:11
Speaker 5: all right, But now you are on what all of them?
34:13
Speaker 5: Pretty much on the three x. Twitter is probably my favorite,
34:18
Speaker 5: and then Facebook and Instagram.
34:20
Speaker 3: The thing I've discovered about Twitter X, it's always going
34:25
Speaker 3: to be Twitter to me, you know, it's kind of
34:26
Speaker 3: like the coddle seem of convention centers. Most people as
34:29
Speaker 3: always going to be the civic center, just part of it.
34:31
Speaker 3: The thing I have noticed about Twitter is it seems
34:34
Speaker 3: to me that there is a lot more and there's
34:37
Speaker 3: a lot of fake information everywhere out there. We know that,
34:39
Speaker 3: but it seems like it's a lot more on Twitter.
34:42
Speaker 3: And one of the things I like about Facebook a
34:45
Speaker 3: little bit more is you can kind of control a
34:48
Speaker 3: little bit more what you see. If you have somebody
34:51
Speaker 3: that maybe you're friends with, but you don't want to
34:53
Speaker 3: see their pro Trump or anti Trump, no matter what
34:55
Speaker 3: camp you're in, I'm gonna be equal opportunity there. You
34:57
Speaker 3: can unfoddel them. But I've known that on Twitter, I
35:01
Speaker 3: get the most outrageous things and they're all related to
35:04
Speaker 3: politics or whatever and stuff that it's crap that can't
35:07
Speaker 3: possibly in a million years be true. I see a
35:10
Speaker 3: lot more of that on x than what I do
35:13
Speaker 3: on Facebook.
35:13
Speaker 5: Maybe it's just me let me help you out. I
35:15
Speaker 5: just discovered this. There's two tabs on X Now there's
35:18
Speaker 5: one that's just a general flow of information. Then there's
35:22
Speaker 5: one only of the things that you're following so just
35:25
Speaker 5: make sure you can unfollow those things you don't want
35:27
Speaker 5: to see.
35:27
Speaker 3: Yeah, got it, yep, social media one on one, Curtesy,
35:31
Speaker 3: you two old guys. All right, we'll talk about Super
35:34
Speaker 3: Bowl with a little bit later on, but earlier this week, Jim,
35:37
Speaker 3: the WVU football schedule was finalized for the twenty twenty
35:40
Speaker 3: five season. Overall thoughts on the schedule.
35:42
Speaker 5: I'll tell you what I think that WVU is going
35:46
Speaker 5: to have a good year. And I think, as always,
35:49
Speaker 5: they're gonna win a game that they have no business winning,
35:52
Speaker 5: and they're gonna lose a game that they have no
35:54
Speaker 5: business losing. And I've run down the schedule and I
35:58
Speaker 5: can give you my record, and I give you my
36:00
Speaker 5: upset special already in February.
36:02
Speaker 3: February. Okay, what do you got it? So they're going
36:04
Speaker 3: to go nine and three overall. Write this down, listeners,
36:07
Speaker 3: that's right, Jim Workman says, the Mountaineers go nine and
36:09
Speaker 3: three and take them to the bank. Take it to
36:11
Speaker 3: the bank.
36:11
Speaker 5: They're gonna go nine and three. They're going to go
36:13
Speaker 5: seven and two in the Big twelve, which means they're
36:16
Speaker 5: going to lose a non conference game, and guess which
36:18
Speaker 5: one they tell me, tell me, oh, hi, Bobcats are
36:21
Speaker 5: going to beat the West Virginia Mountaineers.
36:23
Speaker 3: Really yep, well that's going to make people like Amanda
36:26
Speaker 3: Baron and Rob Cornelius really happy. But but again you're saying,
36:30
Speaker 3: oh you beat what what do you base that on?
36:32
Speaker 3: Old wise one? I have notes.
36:35
Speaker 5: Oh hi, the Ohio Bobcats were first place in the
36:38
Speaker 5: MAC last year. They won a bowl game. Guess who
36:42
Speaker 5: they beaten the bowl game last year there they beat
36:44
Speaker 5: Jacksonville State. West Virginia University brought in about a dozen
36:48
Speaker 5: guys from Jacksonville State. So, oh hi, I beat them
36:51
Speaker 5: in the Cure Bowl back in December. Okay, well on
36:54
Speaker 5: these same guys, they won their last seven in a row.
36:57
Speaker 5: And they've got a graduate quarterback, like a fifth year
37:01
Speaker 5: quarterback that is a dual threat. He's a really good guy,
37:04
Speaker 5: good good quarterback, dual threat throws. Well, they've got the
37:08
Speaker 5: freshman of the year tight end coming back, and a
37:12
Speaker 5: couple of years ago they had the freshman of the
37:14
Speaker 5: year running back in the MAC. He had a great
37:17
Speaker 5: couple of years in the MAC for Ohio. He transferred
37:20
Speaker 5: to Minnesota. Think you know, I guess thinking he's going
37:24
Speaker 5: to try to go a little bit bigger. He's back.
37:27
Speaker 5: He's back with Ohio. They've got an offensive coordinator that's inventive.
37:33
Speaker 5: Like I said, the Parker Navarro, the quarterback is a
37:36
Speaker 5: good one. They've had three straight ten win seasons. A
37:38
Speaker 5: lot of people around here really don't realize that. So
37:42
Speaker 5: I'm thinking that Ohio is going to surprise the Mountaineers
37:45
Speaker 5: in Week two. First first road game for the Mountaineers
37:49
Speaker 5: in Rich rod and then they're gonna rebound that well.
37:52
Speaker 3: Let me let me go ahead and make my prediction,
37:54
Speaker 3: ok Jimbo, since you made George, here's my prediction. If
37:57
Speaker 3: this happens as you say, in West Virginia loses that
38:00
Speaker 3: second game against Ohio University, get ready for them to ready,
38:04
Speaker 3: get ready for the fire. Rich Rodriguez chance to start. No,
38:09
Speaker 3: I don't think that's gonna happen. I think they're just
38:10
Speaker 3: write it down.
38:11
Speaker 5: They're gonna beat Robert Morris dope in the year at
38:13
Speaker 5: everybody's gonna feel great about that. And then they're gonna
38:16
Speaker 5: get a little bit of a shock in Athens, and
38:19
Speaker 5: then they're gonna they're gonna bounce back nicely.
38:21
Speaker 3: You yeah, yeah, Okay, and Uh, is it too early
38:24
Speaker 3: to talk about a Bowl for him next year? If
38:25
Speaker 3: you looked at that, I guess at all there's probably
38:27
Speaker 3: a lot of variables on that, though there is.
38:29
Speaker 5: I mean, ninety three is definitely gonna get you a bowl.
38:31
Speaker 5: It's probably it's not gonna be Uh, they're probably not
38:34
Speaker 5: gonna be in the top sixteen. They're not getting getting
38:37
Speaker 5: in the playoffs. But they'll get a decent bowl. They'll
38:39
Speaker 5: get a good crowd to a warm weather, they'll feel
38:43
Speaker 5: good about their season, and uh, they'll build for the
38:46
Speaker 5: next season.
38:47
Speaker 3: All Right, we're talking to Jim Workman again from Waly

39:00
Speaker 3: further thoughts on rich Rod? You were the first guy
39:02
Speaker 3: I think I had on the show talking about rich
39:04
Speaker 3: Rod's higher Any further thoughts. I mean, there's not a
39:07
Speaker 3: whole lot that's happened other than him, you know, doing
39:09
Speaker 3: some media appearance and things of that nature. Any thoughts
39:11
Speaker 3: on rich Rock yeah, I.
39:12
Speaker 5: Think the excitement level for recruiting is as good as
39:17
Speaker 5: it could ever get in Morgantown. With you know, Pat
39:20
Speaker 5: McAfee and the Adam pac Man Jones guys talking up
39:25
Speaker 5: you know, on a daily basis, on a national platform,
39:28
Speaker 5: on TV and on social media. I think maybe they've
39:31
Speaker 5: got a chance to get Chris Henry Junior next year.
39:35
Speaker 5: He's committed to OHI State. You know, he's a very
39:38
Speaker 5: highly recruited wide receiver, and of course Adam Pacman Jones
39:43
Speaker 5: helped raise him after his father passed away tragically when
39:47
Speaker 5: he was young, and you know, I really think that
39:51
Speaker 5: he's given him a shot in the arm. Rich Rod
39:54
Speaker 5: Fever for West Virginia University is nothing but going to
39:58
Speaker 5: do nothing but to help them.
39:59
Speaker 3: That's quick talk about WVU basketball. They've had some big
40:02
Speaker 3: wins this season, gym, but they struggle at times on
40:05
Speaker 3: the road. I think I heard this morning they've lost
40:06
Speaker 3: three in a row away from the coliseum. On the road,
40:08
Speaker 3: they had.
40:09
Speaker 5: A really bad losing streak. They bounced back with a
40:13
Speaker 5: victory last week. But you know, Big twelve is a
40:16
Speaker 5: really good basketball conference, so I think they've exceeded expectations already.
40:21
Speaker 5: They only brought one guy back from last season's team.
40:24
Speaker 5: So I mean to post a couple of impressive wins
40:28
Speaker 5: like they did, especially at Kansas for the first time,
40:31
Speaker 5: I think gave them a lot of confidence. They just
40:33
Speaker 5: need to kind of get it together. And you know,
40:36
Speaker 5: it doesn't matter until March anyway, right, I mean, make
40:39
Speaker 5: a good run in the tournament, in the conference tournament,
40:42
Speaker 5: get a good seed in the tournament, maybe get a
40:44
Speaker 5: couple of rounds in, and I think that's going to
40:46
Speaker 5: be a successful season for a team that had zero expectations.
40:50
Speaker 3: Let me go back your a minute and a Textra
40:51
Speaker 3: pointed this out and we both skipped over this. You
40:55
Speaker 3: said the surprise upset by that Ohio University would beat
40:59
Speaker 3: WVU this year was a surprise win. I don't think
41:01
Speaker 3: we covered the surprise win. We both missed that somehow.
41:04
Speaker 5: All Right, I think that, well, here's here's the wins
41:08
Speaker 5: that I have. I think TCU is going to be
41:10
Speaker 5: the surprise win. Okay, because TCU was pretty good. They
41:14
Speaker 5: were nine to four overall last year. But they're coming
41:18
Speaker 5: into Morgantown on homecoming, so that's October the twenty fifth.
41:22
Speaker 5: I think they beat TCU. But the other wins that
41:24
Speaker 5: I have for the Mountaineers are Pitt. Actually, I have
41:27
Speaker 5: them going undefeated at home this year. Okay, Robert Morris
41:31
Speaker 5: pitt Utah, Utah was picked number one.
41:34
Speaker 3: Last. They have a Friday Night game this year, don't they.
41:37
Speaker 3: Friday Night is BYU. I have them losing that in
41:40
Speaker 3: Provo Utah And Okay, so that's one of the loss
41:43
Speaker 3: So TCU's win. They're going to beat Colorado at home,
41:46
Speaker 3: and they're gonna beat Texas Tech in the season finale
41:49
Speaker 3: at home. But the losses are Ohio BYU and Arizona State.

Speaker 5: He's proved in the playoff, and I think with Saquon Barkley,
46:03
Speaker 5: Jalen Hurts great defense for Philadelphia. I think they pull
46:07
Speaker 5: it out, and I'm gonna say they win it by
46:09
Speaker 5: a touchdown.
46:10
Speaker 3: Okay, all right, Hey TJ. Meadows is here to a
46:14
Speaker 3: little talk line preview. We'll get to that in a
46:15
Speaker 3: couple moments, but you want to weigh in on this
46:17
Speaker 3: before we get serious. And I've actually got some text
46:19
Speaker 3: for you, Jim, but go ahead. You want to weigh
46:20
Speaker 3: in on.
46:21
Speaker 7: Give me the Cowboys because they have the best helmets
46:24
Speaker 7: and never let me live that down.
46:25
Speaker 3: That's why I became a Cowboys fan. All Right? What
46:27
Speaker 3: do you think in Philly? Are No?
46:29
Speaker 7: I'm gonna go Chiefs. I think it's I don't know
46:32
Speaker 7: about the score. I think one touchdown is probably good. Yeah,
46:35
Speaker 7: but that's what I'm gonna go. The I'm gonna go
46:37
Speaker 7: to the Chiefs.
46:37
Speaker 3: I got the Chiefs twenty eight twenty one, I think so,
46:40
Speaker 3: And like as I've been saying, and TJ and I
46:43
Speaker 3: talked about this yesterday, all these conspiracy theories about the
46:46
Speaker 3: Chiefs and you know whatever in them getting the calls.
46:49
Speaker 3: Quarterbacks in generals get calls, you know, no matter who
46:53
Speaker 3: they are. And I really don't care, to be honest
46:55
Speaker 3: with you, who wins or loses this game. Being a
46:57
Speaker 3: cowboy fan, I cannot possibly cheer for Philadelphia, So I
47:01
Speaker 3: guess I'm pulling for Kansas City, but I really don't care.
47:04
Speaker 3: I doubt I'll even stay away for the whole thing,
47:06
Speaker 3: to be honest with you, One thing I will guarantee you, though,
47:09
Speaker 3: is that people will complain about the halftime show. Because
47:13
Speaker 3: if you don't like the halftime show, as we saw
47:15
Speaker 3: the last couple of years, that's what people argue about
47:17
Speaker 3: more on social media is if you dare say anything
47:19
Speaker 3: about the halftime show, then you're a horrible person. And
47:22
Speaker 3: if you don't like it because the performer happens to,
47:25
Speaker 3: you know, be a hip hop or right than you're racist.
47:28
Speaker 3: You can you can dislike something you know, no matter
47:32
Speaker 3: what I mean, I don't even watch the halftime show,
47:35
Speaker 3: to be honest with you. That's my time to go
47:37
Speaker 3: grab another beer or grab some more food out of
47:39
Speaker 3: the kitchen. So I'm not even probably going to watch
47:41
Speaker 3: the half time. And you, like I said, on the commercials,
47:43
Speaker 3: you've already seen the commercials. I mean they're everywhere. I
47:45
Speaker 3: don't know if there's any commercial I haven't seen, but
47:47
Speaker 3: I'm going with KC twenty eight twenty one. What are
47:49
Speaker 3: we eating Jim on for Super Bowl? For you, man?
47:53
Speaker 5: I think you have to go wings? Oh yeah, wings
47:56
Speaker 5: and maybe pizza.
47:58
Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, the Staples Jay.
48:01
Speaker 7: So normally I smoke a Chuck roast, but I don't
48:03
Speaker 7: have that kind of time this weekend. So I'm gonna
48:04
Speaker 7: smoke some wings before he start on Sunday early Sunday afternoon,
48:07
Speaker 7: and that'll be the deal.
48:08
Speaker 3: Nothing like. So we're invited, is that what you're saying?
48:12
Speaker 6: Uh?
48:12
Speaker 7: Check with the missage. She controls all the activities.
48:15
Speaker 12: We know that.
48:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, I got it. I got it. Jim Texas West
48:19
Speaker 3: Virginia has only finished above five hundred one time at
48:22
Speaker 3: the Big twelve. It's the weakest the Big has seen
48:25
Speaker 3: in the history of the conference. They're going seven and five,
48:28
Speaker 3: says the Texter.
48:30
Speaker 5: Okay, get your own radio show.
48:34
Speaker 3: Hey, don't insalt my love.
48:36
Speaker 7: I think Kelsey's gone the winn or lose.
48:37
Speaker 11: I think he's done.
48:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he's got a big enough brand right now.
48:41
Speaker 3: He doesn't need the NFL, and the NFL needs him a
48:43
Speaker 3: lot more than he needs the NFL. Text says Dear Dave,
48:46
Speaker 3: win or lose, Philly will burn down half the city.
48:48
Speaker 3: Philly going to Philly since a Texter tex says Eagles
48:52
Speaker 3: win thirty one to twenty eight. Texas, Dave, I love
48:55
Speaker 3: that Trump will be there. Football fans love him. Over
48:58
Speaker 3: the years, we've made homemade subs or Ninies chips with
49:00
Speaker 3: dep chips and salcea or buffalo chicken Depp and my
49:03
Speaker 3: favorite wings, Gino's original breaded wings dessert is mandarin orange cake.
49:08
Speaker 3: That's where we're going. We're gonna find out where this
49:10
Speaker 3: person is.
49:11
Speaker 7: Say, I'm canceling my smoke.
49:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you had me at any of that
49:14
Speaker 3: live remote from that last I broke that person's out.
49:17
Speaker 3: We're just gonna show up and go, hey, we're here.
49:20
Speaker 3: We won't even have equipment plugged into anything. We'll just
49:22
Speaker 3: pretend we're on it. Jim, what else is getting your
49:25
Speaker 3: attention in the world of sports these days? Anything, anything
49:27
Speaker 3: else that you kind of get your eye on.
49:29
Speaker 5: You know, it's it's basketball season. It's gonna be basketball
49:32
Speaker 5: tournament for us. I'm just talking to Fred in the
49:36
Speaker 5: in the green room a little bit. You know, for
49:37
Speaker 5: the first time in a couple of years, I believe
49:40
Speaker 5: that we've got the Mountain East Conference not interfering with
49:44
Speaker 5: the girls state basketball tournament that week. He actually told
49:47
Speaker 5: me that, you know, with the schedule the way it
49:50
Speaker 5: turned out this year, they're going to be in Wheeling
49:52
Speaker 5: for the Mountain East Conference and then the girls state
49:55
Speaker 5: basketball tournament the following week, and then the boys state tournament.
49:58
Speaker 5: Of course the boys and girls are and Charleston. So
50:01
Speaker 5: that's that's gonna eat up a lot of March. And
50:03
Speaker 5: that's that's great basketball. You know, the Mountain East is
50:07
Speaker 5: a very underrated or overlooked frankly in West Virginia. That's
50:12
Speaker 5: great basketball. We've got a couple of great programs right
50:15
Speaker 5: here in the valley with State and you see, so
50:18
Speaker 5: I really encourage people in the last few couple of
50:21
Speaker 5: weeks of the regular season, get out and watch some
50:23
Speaker 5: great basketball. Typically State and you see play against each
50:27
Speaker 5: other in that last week, so it'd be a good
50:29
Speaker 5: time to get out and watch some great basketball.
50:31
Speaker 3: But Dave Island showing five any lie brought to you
50:33
Speaker 3: apart by Morgan to Morgan in America's largest injury law firm,
50:36
Speaker 3: Tech says with his over past twenty years, hits like
50:39
Speaker 3: I'm Gonna miss Her, Alcohol, Mud on the Tires and
50:41
Speaker 3: the gen X theme song Letter to Me. I think
50:43
Speaker 3: Brad Paisley would put on an amazing halftime performance. Of
50:46
Speaker 3: course he would close it with a crowd sing of
50:48
Speaker 3: country roads. You say what, I love it? I love
50:50
Speaker 3: it all right?
50:51
Speaker 5: Yeah do it?
50:52
Speaker 3: Jim? When are we going to do another Walley Whipy's
50:54
Speaker 3: not at Buffalo Wild Wings? You have one of those
50:55
Speaker 3: coming up?
50:56
Speaker 5: Yeah, Thursday, February twentieth. We always do it on the
50:59
Speaker 5: third Thursday each month. We've got some tickets to give
51:01
Speaker 5: away a lot of cool stuff. It's always fun and
51:04
Speaker 5: I always try to post about that. You can check

Speaker 5: out Wally Whippies on Facebook. Where can people read Wally

51:21
Speaker 3: All right, Texas, Dave, I thought Trump was BOYCOTTI to
51:23
Speaker 3: the NFL. Well, I guess he. I guess he forgot
51:26
Speaker 3: all right, Jim wrightman, I appreciate you being here. TJ.
51:29

51:44
Speaker 3: So we'll talk with her.
51:45
