- 0:00Speaker 1: Take me to your leaders. Unless they're jackasses. They seem
- 0:04Speaker 1: like jackasses. It's one more thing.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I'm strong and getty, one more thing before we get
- 0:12Speaker 2: to your thing. I know we're about to talk about
- 0:14Speaker 2: the UFO hearing as they had the other day. I
- 0:17Speaker 2: as a guy who listens to lots of podcasts and
- 0:19Speaker 2: reads tons of stuff, I've noticed the change in the
- 0:22Speaker 2: last couple of years. There are way more of your
- 0:26Speaker 2: super smart people saying I think there's a decent chance
- 0:31Speaker 2: we are the only life in the universe, as opposed
- 0:34Speaker 2: to like my whole life where it was now, that'd
- 0:37Speaker 2: be crazy to think that. Now they're the super educated
- 0:42Speaker 2: people who spend their lives on this, there's like a
- 0:46Speaker 2: backlash to that, Like, no, there's very good reason to
- 0:48Speaker 2: believe we are the only life that exists in the universe.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I've got to admit, having been convinced of the other
- 0:57Speaker 3: point of view from my whole life, I find that
- 0:59Speaker 3: counter into it been difficult to buy, but I haven't
- 1:01Speaker 3: dug into it.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, look, you know, just like search it on
- 1:04Speaker 2: YouTube you'll find MIT professors talking going through the reasons
- 1:07Speaker 2: why they think that's quite possibly because it's just very
- 1:10Speaker 2: very difficult and takes a whole bunch of extraordinary things
- 1:14Speaker 2: to occur. Yeah, temperature water. Nobody's exactly sure how life
- 1:20Speaker 2: started anyway, but maybe there's just none anywhere, Katie.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Your gut reaction, Oh, I for sure think there's like
- 1:27Speaker 4: aliens or something.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I'm sure something well, and the other I'll let you
- 1:33Speaker 2: argue with the MIT professor with that they're hiding something.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I totally think for sure there's life somewhere. I tend
- 1:39Speaker 2: to be on your side.
- 1:40Speaker 3: But yeah, and the other thing that I, you know,
- 1:44Speaker 3: tended to forget about until I took a college class
- 1:46Speaker 3: on This was an unbelievably easy class. I mean, home man,
- 1:51Speaker 3: talk about an easy a. You hardly had to fogg
- 1:53Speaker 3: a mirror anyway. But it was super interesting and fun.
- 1:56Speaker 3: But you know, in the history of the globe, which is,
- 1:59Speaker 3: you know, couple of billions a year whatever it is,
- 2:02Speaker 3: human beings have existed for like well, just life in
- 2:06Speaker 3: general has existed for like a blink of that time.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And so not only would.
- 2:11Speaker 3: You have to have you know, life here and then
- 2:15Speaker 3: there's some here and then way over there, but it
- 2:18Speaker 3: would have to exist at the same time across billions
- 2:22Speaker 3: of years, right, that's Elon, But I'm aware of each other,
- 2:25Speaker 3: that's Elon.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Musk's point is that unless you are inter multiplanetary species,
- 2:31Speaker 2: which is why he wants to get us to Mars,
- 2:33Speaker 2: there's almost no chance of your surviving because there's a
- 2:37Speaker 2: you know, there's a time limit on all planets for
- 2:39Speaker 2: where it's going to be too hot or too cold
- 2:40Speaker 2: for the life to continue. So again, there could have
- 2:44Speaker 2: been life, maybe maybe a very long you know, one
- 2:46Speaker 2: hundred million years ago or one hundred million years from now,
- 2:48Speaker 2: but the idea that there's intelligent life somewhere right now
- 2:51Speaker 2: that could reach us is very very low.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Yeah, fascinating topic, no doubt. But getting back to my
- 2:58Speaker 3: charming introduction. Take me to your leaders big hearing the
- 3:02Speaker 3: other day in the United States Congress.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I like that version of interplanetary. Yeah, there's plenty of life.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It's close by. They can immediately come here. They speak English,
- 3:11Speaker 2: which is very handy. Well, they have translators.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's good they had Google Translate before Google.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Did I appreciate you learning the English language before you land?
- 3:20Speaker 4: Come down and they have three fingers.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Yeah, they're basically us, just slightly different.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Yeah, always bald headed, always kind of translucent with smooth
- 3:30Speaker 3: weird heads. Anyway, you know what, the old Star Trek
- 3:35Speaker 3: was so great for aliens. I mean because they really
- 3:38Speaker 3: tried hard with the technology of the time to be imaginative.
- 3:43Speaker 3: It wasn't all you know, bald headed, et looking creatures.
- 3:47Speaker 3: It was everything from like sparkles of energy to very
- 3:51Speaker 3: humanoid to like hot green chicks.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I mean, really ran the gamut.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Of what with Mars attacks.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, great old movie. Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Anyway, So there's a hearing the other day Congressional panel
- 4:06Speaker 3: what the House Oversight Committee.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Evidently they oversee space aliens.
- 4:10Speaker 3: But it's funny because this account in the Wall Street Journal,
- 4:13Speaker 3: which you'd think would be among the more sober accounts
- 4:16Speaker 3: of this, just kind of glosses over all. Right, are
- 4:20Speaker 3: we talking about freaking space aliens? Are we just talking
- 4:24Speaker 3: about objects observed by military pilots that have not yet
- 4:28Speaker 3: been identified?
- 4:29Speaker 2: Do I think I think China has planes or drones
- 4:33Speaker 2: that we don't know about and are hard to detect a.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Freaking course, right?
- 4:38Speaker 3: And or do we think that DARPA is developing weapons
- 4:42Speaker 3: and reconnaissance aircraft and sometimes they try them out on
- 4:46Speaker 3: our very guys to see if they can be detected
- 4:49Speaker 3: and in what way and how quickly and that sort
- 4:51Speaker 3: of thing.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, I think that.
- 4:55Speaker 3: So the hearing Wednesday by two House Oversight Subcommittee's latest
- 4:58Speaker 3: in Congress is push for transparent around UFOs, which seems
- 5:02Speaker 3: like a terrible idea to me, for reasons I'll get into.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Witnesses have alleged that they've seen aerial phenomena exhibiting qualities
- 5:08Speaker 3: that defy explanation, that the US government has taken steps.
- 5:11Speaker 1: To shield what it knows.
- 5:13Speaker 3: And you've got Nancy Mayce, who's the hottie from South
- 5:17Speaker 3: Carolina who about half the time strikes me as a
- 5:19Speaker 3: really good congress person, then the other half of the
- 5:21Speaker 3: time she strikes me as a nut. But she said
- 5:26Speaker 3: she's the chairwoman of one of the subcommittees, said in
- 5:29Speaker 3: her opening remarks that some people didn't want Wednesdays hearing
- 5:31Speaker 3: to happen because they feared what might be disclosed. But
- 5:35Speaker 3: we stood firm no amount of outside pressure would ever
- 5:38Speaker 3: keep me from pursuing a subject. What if it's like
- 5:42Speaker 3: highly classified weapons systems to keep us from being overrun
- 5:45Speaker 3: by the Chinese commie horde, sweetheart, then would you disclose
- 5:50Speaker 3: it to the public.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Not good.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Congress in twenty twenty two held its first hearing on
- 5:59Speaker 3: US what it now calls Unidentified anomalous phenomenon or UAPs.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Again, why did they have to change?
- 6:09Speaker 3: Or if there's like flying pigs, that would be well, no,
- 6:12Speaker 3: I suppose that would be an identified anomalous phenomena.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Hey, I know what that is. That's a flying pig.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Oh when the hole wind pigs fly thing is now,
- 6:20Speaker 3: I'll be damned, but identified? Yes, everybody keep cool. Since then,
- 6:26Speaker 3: lawmakers in the public have heard from military and intelligence
- 6:29Speaker 3: officers who've testified they've seen UAP and they could pose.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Risks to national security.
- 6:35Speaker 3: And the Pentagon did not respond to a request for
- 6:38Speaker 3: comment on Wednesday.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Doesn't that tell you everything you need to know?
- 6:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just done.
- 6:43Speaker 3: We're dealing with this as fast as we can can.
- 6:46Speaker 3: We just keep kind of quiet about it all because
- 6:49Speaker 3: we're developing counters to these Chinese spy tiny spy drones,
- 6:53Speaker 3: and we don't want to talk about it.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Okay, Nancy.
- 6:57Speaker 2: The other thing that has changed in my lifetime that
- 7:00Speaker 2: makes sense, not only is there, you know, this newfound
- 7:05Speaker 2: belief that maybe there is no other life in the universes.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Why are we sending out signals to try to reach them?
- 7:12Speaker 2: That stupid Stephen Hawking was the first person I heard
- 7:14Speaker 2: say that, and then others have written books about it.
- 7:17Speaker 2: That's the last thing you do if you're some tiny
- 7:19Speaker 2: little beast in the weeds in Africa is like raise
- 7:23Speaker 2: up your arms, say hey, any giant predators out there
- 7:25Speaker 2: that are much bigger, stronger than meat that would like
- 7:27Speaker 2: to kill me?
- 7:27Speaker 1: Huh?
- 7:28Speaker 2: Anybody I'm over here? Why would you do that? Why
- 7:31Speaker 2: would you send out the you know, the the voyager
- 7:34Speaker 2: that's still headed out into space and elons that went
- 7:36Speaker 2: out a while back, with all kinds of trying to
- 7:39Speaker 2: alert people that, hey, Israel a week plant over here
- 7:42Speaker 2: if you want to come kill us.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Just we're made of meat, and we've got lots of
- 7:46Speaker 3: natural resources.
- 7:47Speaker 1: We're made of meat. Meat.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I'm reminded of one of Henry Kissinger's descriptions of America
- 7:55Speaker 3: and Americans. We're a big friendly dog, and sometimes our
- 7:58Speaker 3: tail knocks stuff and breaks it. But and and you can,
- 8:03Speaker 3: you know, cite this in looking at the way we
- 8:05Speaker 3: deal with the Muslim world, in dealing with China for
- 8:08Speaker 3: several decades and There are several others examples of this,
- 8:11Speaker 3: But we're we're nice people, Americans in large measure, we
- 8:17Speaker 3: just want to be friends and do business, and so
- 8:20Speaker 3: we have this idiotic assumption that everybody else just wants
- 8:23Speaker 3: to be friends and do business, including space aliens. Right,
- 8:26Speaker 3: you're on Flutron five. Hey, do you want to be
- 8:29Speaker 3: our friend? Do you want to be our friends?
- 8:32Speaker 1: Sap? Well, no, we'd like to eat you.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Dar resources that their ray gun. They just zap you
- 8:39Speaker 2: with their ray gun.
- 8:40Speaker 4: This is what happens, No words necessary. It's what happened
- 8:43Speaker 4: in the horror movie Signs. They started communicating with the
- 8:46Speaker 4: aliens through a baby monitor and everybody died.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yeah, the idea that that would automatically somehow benefit humanity
- 8:53Speaker 2: if we did contact a almost certainly superior life format.
- 8:58Speaker 2: How why would you assume that that's really weird that
- 9:01Speaker 2: we ever thought that, let alone it being the consensus
- 9:05Speaker 2: of view.
- 9:06Speaker 1: It's a very American thing to do, it is.
- 9:11Speaker 3: The Pentagon has previously said there is no evidence that
- 9:15Speaker 3: UFO sightings are alien spacecraft. Thank god, I don't not.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Since having achieved arguably manhood, have I spent much time
- 9:26Speaker 3: at all thinking about space alien micraft nobly not. It's
- 9:32Speaker 3: it's it's advanced military technologies from ours and other governments obviously.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Now some okay, all right, hey, you know me, mister,
- 9:42Speaker 3: I want to hear the opposing point of view.
- 9:43Speaker 1: You think it may be.
- 9:45Speaker 2: A cigar shaped silvery spaceship.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Is that what you could be?
- 9:48Speaker 4: That's what I'm thinking. The saucer exactly coming down with
- 9:52Speaker 4: the beam.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Got the beam picks you up, probes you maybe ainally
- 9:55Speaker 2: and I haven't thought always part of it.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yeah, so much probing always part of it. Yeah.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Now some of the like miraculous stops and starts and
- 10:11Speaker 3: changes the direction and speed that they've observed in these
- 10:15Speaker 3: craft is I've got to admit it. It looks to
- 10:19Speaker 3: be beyond terrestrial technology. But the fact that I can't
- 10:27Speaker 3: come up with the explanation, partly because I'm not a
- 10:30Speaker 3: physicist nor a DARPA scientist or whatever, does not mean well,
- 10:34Speaker 3: you gotta go to space aliens the next step.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:40Speaker 3: That's well, if if the professional you know, commentator can't
- 10:45Speaker 3: nail down what it is, it must be space aliens. No,
- 10:49Speaker 3: maybe it's some ability to distort and deceive radar systems
- 10:53Speaker 3: and you know, whatever other technologies the jet fighters use
- 10:57Speaker 3: and that sort of thing.
- 10:58Speaker 2: But God, we should have dug up the best of
- 11:02Speaker 2: Kate McKinnon from Saturday Night Live when she gets, you know,
- 11:05Speaker 2: probed by the aliens, and she'd always pass funny joke. Oh,
- 11:10Speaker 2: they had me strapped up and they looked me over
- 11:12Speaker 2: from my cooder to my tutor before they let me
- 11:14Speaker 2: back down.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Sure, one hundred and five euphemisms for the female parts,
- 11:20Speaker 3: just absolutely hilarious.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Hey, remember when the guy told everybody to storm Area
- 11:27Speaker 4: fifty one online and they took.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Him serious and ended it was just a party outside
- 11:32Speaker 3: everyone every fifty one on gates.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a good time.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Well, I guess that's it.
