- TB: Question out of nowhere. Sydney, are you ready? Sydney: I'm ready. TB: All right, if you could relive one sporting event exactly as you experienced it, what would it be? Sydney: Probably the snow game in Buffalo against Miami with the winning tea bass kick and then everyone slides in the snow. That was pretty sick. I've never TB: Yeah. Sydney: been to a game where it was like snowing that hard and it was TB: Yeah. Sydney: just so cool. Like just unreal. TB: Yeah, that that's definitely that's definitely a good a pretty good moment. Can you think of any others that would even make the cut? Sydney: Yeah, for sure. I mean the playoff game in Jacksonville was pretty close. I think just the environment there was super, super fun. Shoot, what other games? the Dallas game was really fun in Buffalo. there's a lot. I've never been to a bad game ever. And I've never seen a Buffalo loss in real life. So I consider myself pretty lucky. Even when we went to DC and we played the Commanders, we still won that game. I think it was a blowout. So that was honestly TB: Yep. Sydney: probably the worst game that I went to. but we still won. So I can't even say it was very bad. It was just it was raining, the weather wasn't great, but it wasn't I TB: I feel like Sydney: would say exciting. TB: I feel like every time the Bills play in D C it rains. It's just without fail. It rains or it's miserable weather. So Sydney: Yeah. Every time. Yeah. It's just cloudy over there, I guess. TB: yeah, probably there's just always a big cloud of doom and despair hanging over the capital city. So sounds like a perfect place to start the show. What is up, friends? We are back with another episode of the Three T's Tables, Tailgates, and Top Loaders. I'm your host, TB, here with co-host Sydney in her new apartment, Jacksonville, Florida. tell us how did the move go? Sydney: It was really good, but we're not even in Jacksonville anymore. According to my address. But TB: I'm sorry, no no Duval? Sydney: nope, we're not in Duval anymore. but still Duval at heart, I guess you could say. But everything went good. just been long last few days, but ready to just kinda decorate now, get some stuff on the walls. That's why this is blank up here still. So We ordered a bunch of furniture and I'm just tracking everything 'cause I really want it to come in very soon. So it's all good. Just a lot of a lot of stuff going on. TB: Are you going to put I'm assuming that's your living room? Sydney: Yeah. TB: It seems like the perfect place for a nice mural of the greatest quarterback of all time, Josh Allen. What do you think? You think that that would go over well? Sydney: I don't know if Mike would like that, but hey, I could always pitch it and we'll see what he says. TB: I mean, crazy. So I asked you that question out of nowhere, asking you about one sporting event that you would want to replay or relive exactly as you experienced it. I asked you that question because of the home opener at HighMark last Thursday. I got to be there and without a shadow of a doubt, it was a top five, probably top three experience. Life experience outside of obviously, you know, having kids, all that stuff. You know, fa family aside, we're talking like other moments. I don't know. How do you want to classify this? But holy cow, it was absolutely one of the craziest, unbelievable things I've ever seen in my life. And I've been to two WrestleMania's, been to numerous Bills games, obviously, been to some fantastic concerts. this was probably probably the Easily top three, if not number one, top five experience. I felt like I was at the Super Bowl. So I don't know what questions you have for me. if you have any, or if you just want me to give you a overview, but either fire away or we'll just dive into the game. What do you have any questions for me up front? Sydney: Yeah, I mean, I have a couple broad questions, but I mean we talked about it last time, how I wanted to watch the game home by myself. I didn't want to be anywhere else. I didn't you know, not that I didn't want to be with friends, but I just wanted to like kinda take it in because I wanted to feel like I was there in like the most close way that I could. But I think there's obviously a lot of things that probably weren't translated on TV. So I'm not sure if you rewatched anything, if you went back and like watched the game at all. But do you think there was anything that wasn't shown on TV that kind of stands out to you or just anything in particular that was just especially cool in that regard? TB: I d I watched the first, I think I rewatched the first half on TV this week. But I don't know what translated as far as the firework display, the light display. Let me tell you, this place, when I say the preseason, I was not prepared. the preseason to this game was night and day. And we went to the last preseason game, which was a seven o'clock kickoff. So we got some of the lighting effects, but The whole ambiance with the fireworks and the presentation alone. When I say I felt like I was at the Super Bowl, the presentation of this game was off the charts. From the minute the teams were, you know, about to come out from the locker room, the presentation of the flags and the the different emblems and the the singers for both anthems, the whole from from start to finish. I don't know what what of that was translated. on T V. Did they show all of that stuff pre game? Sydney: Yeah, they showed a good bit of it. They showed them bringing out the the flags, both of them, and they showed, you know, both anthems. so I think for the most part, we probably saw everything that you saw. I can't remember they had a flyover, obviously, right? they didn't have. okay, 'cause I was gonna say we we didn't TB: No, that was the one thing I was shocked that they did not have. No. Yeah, there was no flyover. Sydney: see that at all, which I was surprised by. TB: Did you see the run outs? Did you s did you see the player intros? Sydney: Yeah, so that was one thing that kind of got cut off a little bit because it flipped to the commentators booth. So you could kind of TB: Okay. Sydney: hear it going on in the background. So the only player intro, because they announced the offense from what I understood, TB: Yes. Correct. Yep. Sydney: the only player intro that we saw was Josh. So we didn't TB: I mean, you wanna talk Sydney: see any of that. TB: one of the loudest moments of the entire experience was when he came out of the tunnel. Obviously he's introduced last and and there are some good pops for other players, but holy cow, when JA seventeen is introduced and he comes flying out of that tunnel, that place comes unglued. It was it was insane. yeah, I mean you wanna talk feelings and emotions from The video packages they were playing before any of the teams even came out, all through the intros, it was just straight fire. Straight fire. And the problem was when I went to re-watch the game, I watched it. Obviously, the game was on Amazon. So when I went into Amazon to watch it, the broadcast literally starts with play number one, like the kickoff. So Sydney: Mm. TB: you don't you don't see any of the pregame stuff. So I I wasn't sure exactly what what made it into the pregame broadcast and what didn't. But just awesome. I mean, the lights with we all got bracelets. I d I don't know whether that translated, but they were, you know, flashing red, white, blue, different things throughout the whole night. And then the I can't imagine what the firework cost is for this game. And I hope they keep it up for the the season, but the firework budget has to be Through the roof, if they're gonna shoot fireworks for every time the Bills score, they better they better have a lot of lot of fireworks on display. But yeah, I mean, just seeing everything from from the intros to the anthems, did halftime get shown or no? Sydney: a little bit of it, but most of the time 'cause they had the the Thursday night football crew there with like Richard Sherman and all of them. They were talking TB: Right. Right. Sydney: pretty much that entire time. TB: Okay. Yeah. And what was crazy was this band, One Republic, they were set up on the so if if I'm facing the field from our seats, we're closer to the end zone, where the stage is. We that Sydney: Yeah. TB: that's where we were. That's where our seats are. They were set up, ready to start playing, probably with five minutes of playtime, like clock time left on the in the first half. And they stood there for a good while because if you remember the end of the first half kind of drug on a little bit and there was a lot of Sydney: Yeah. TB: back and forth. But that band was ready to go because literally the minute the last player ran off the field, they kicked in and there was a countdown clock. They had 14 minutes exactly. They played four songs and it was nice. Thank you very much. And they were they were done and the players were right back on the field. It was the presentation was like locked in. And what was funny, and I think I sent you and your brother a picture of this was The minute they started playing, Billy the Buffalo was sitting right in front of us on the 10-yard line. He had he had laid down and kind of kicked his feet up and he's watching the whole show. And then when they get to like this the last song, he's up dancing around. It was hilarious. Look, I know they got a lot of crap, OneRepublic, when they were announced, but the crowd was into it. They were feeling it. People were dancing, people were singing. There was no booing. At one point it was really funny because the lead singer goes, the goo goo dolls couldn't be here tonight. So so here we are. But apparently when they were first getting started, one of their first concerts was at it's either University of Buffalo or Buff State or something, I don't know, years and years ago. So it was cool to kind of tie it all back together. They were very happy to be there, very thankful. So I thought it was I thought it was a good show. It And then, you know, right back into the game, like Sydney: Mm. TB: I said, the presentation gets a 10. A 10. It was awesome. The video packages alone that they showed throughout the entire game leading into the fourth quarter. And I hope they do this for every single home game. The video package they play starting the fourth quarter, it makes you want to run through a brick wall. It gets you so fired up. And then of course, when the Bills had the lead later in the fourth quarter and Mr. Bright's eye comes on, just Awesome. Awesome. I took a little video of that, me singing along and recording everybody. And I believe Dalton Kincaid was quoted telling old Noxie Boy, yeah, that hit like crack, I think was his quote. If you saw that. He's like the first Sydney: Yep. TB: the first time Mr. Brightside in the new stadium it hit like crack. And that's exactly right, because that that it was great. It was great. So what other questions do you have for me? Sydney: Yeah, it's so funny because when you're not there in person, you're you know of those little things that maybe not the average fan or the average viewer like sees. So I knew because Mike asked me as we're watching, he's like, when do they usually play Mr. Brightside? And I was like, well, we have to have a lead. And TB: Right. Sydney: if it's, you know, if it's close, they're not gonna do it until late in the fourth quarter and we're and we're winning. So I'm just waiting for it to come on. And I knew exactly when they were gonna play it. So it's kind of funny, like we only got out like a little five second snippet of it, but I'm like, TB: Sure. Sydney: I just wish that I could see those little things. Obviously you see the video footage later on, but those are just the little things that I that I wish I saw. But I mean, other than that, like what was like the fan experience like? Like what were the other fans around you feeling? Did you talk to anybody other than the mic that you came with? Like how was everything regarding that? TB: First of all, our seats are phenomenal. no issue in the seat. I there was, but I'm not gonna talk about it because it doesn't really matter. It didn't really ruin anything. but I've never seen a person take their shoes off at a football game. So we'll just Sydney: wow. TB: yeah. And then she happens to be sitting three seats down from me. So old lady in our row with with the no shoes, for the love of God, please don't ever do that again. that was terrible. I couldn't even walk by her. I couldn't even go get a beer because I'm tripping over her stupid shoes. And I I digress. But everyone else in our section, very chill, very nice. the guy in front of me, the old the probably a couple in their like early fifties, he was throwing haymaker high fives. And you know me, Sydney: Mm. TB: I just had my right elbow operated on. So I had to switch and go lefty. So that threw a lot of people off. But I'm like, this dude is gonna put me right back in the hospital. I gotta switch to I gotta go southpaw on these high fives. He's he's gonna dislocate my arm. Sydney: no. TB: I'm gonna be I'm gonna be Jaden Daniels number five here if I'm not careful. Sydney: No. TB: too soon, too soon. Sydney: Ha ha TB: But no, everyone was awesome. Yeah, the fan experience. I don't know. We we've bounced around a little bit in in the b lower lower bowl of the last stadium. And it's been a little bit of a different experience for each seats that we're in. but I think we have a good mix. Now, there were people that had sold their opener, opening tickets for this game. Yeah, it's absolutely crazy. Sydney: Crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy. TB: I can't imagine what what they got for these tickets. So, but at the same time, I said to Mike, I said, There's not a dollar amount that you could offer me to not be at this game, just because of the history. in my life and what this team means to me and being in that stadium for that moment. Like I said, it's probably the top experience of my life, you know, as far as like entertainment value and just and I had I had I sold my ticket, I would probably regret that for the for the rest of my life. So yeah, you it's just it's just Sydney: Yeah, absolutely. TB: crazy. and that's that's a memory I will have and be thankful for. I I just I just kept thinking, I am so blessed to be sitting here in this brand new stadium with this awesome team, watching the greatest player I will ever see in my lifetime. so from the minute he ran out of the tunnel to the minute the game was over, it was just for me, it was just a three hour feeling of gratitude and excitement all at the same time. So Sydney: Yeah, absolutely. And I feel like the game couldn't have gone any better. Like honestly, it was the perfect mix between, you know, it was still a competitive game, quality football and TB: Right. Sydney: you still left feeling like, you know, that wasn't a blowout. Like it was still a very, very well put together game and entertaining to watch and it still gave you the outcome that you wanted. I don't think it could have played out any better. So yeah, definitely jealous that I wasn't there. But I mean it was still great to watch on TV. I I loved it. It was awesome. TB: And it was cool because in each one of our cup holders they had this little plastic keepsake. It was a key and it had a little card in there. really nice touch. Unfortunately, I'm already seeing them for sale on eBay, of course. People selling everything they think they could get their hands on from game one. So it's like Have we no shame? Can we not enjoy anything as fans and just like hold on to something? Why do we have to be so quick to give everything away and sell it all? I mean, do do we really need $250 that much? People selling these keys for $250. So I don't know. It's crazy to me. Like, I don't need two how fast you can spend $200? Pretty, pretty quick these days, right? Sometimes. Sydney: I'm shocked so I heard that they put them in the seats, which I'm really, really shocked in the cup holders. TB: They put in the c cup holders. Yeah. And Sydney: So I'm really shocked that people well I did actually see this that some people were stealing other people's, which is bizarre. Yeah. But TB: Of course. Yeah. It's really messed up. It's really messed up. Yeah, it's it's that's not okay. Sydney: you know, again. Like not comparing, but I mean for the Iceman we've done the same thing. We put stuff in people's seats and then people complain that, hey, someone took my thing. You should give them out at the door. How the heck are you gonna do that when there's that many people coming in the door? You it's never gonna be perfect. So I just I was trying to think if there was maybe like a better way that you could do it, but I don't think there is in this scenario when there's that many people in the building, there's just no good way to do it. TB: Yeah, it's tough. And so you got your key and your seat, hopefully, if you got there decent time. and then as we were leaving, Pepsi was on hand and they were giving out cans, and each can had the inaugural game stamp on the side. So people were if you were lucky enough to walk by a Pepsi rep, you could grab your commemorative can. So I I got one of those too. Captain Morgan was on hand, the good old you know, rum pirate ship. They actually had a pirate ship Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: there and I don't know. It was fun. It was great, great night from start to finish. So yeah, I I can't wait. I it's gonna be probably night and day from that game to this Sunday, because Sunday's the first one o'clock. So we'll see how the presentation is is a little different. I expect it to be somewhat somewhat different, but but we shall see. So do you have any other questions about the experience before we dive a little into this game? Sydney: No, something might come up later, but for now that's all. TB: Okay, so you watched the whole game, you were by yourself, you thought it translated well to the the TV. what were your thoughts on the game as a whole before we kind of deep dive into this a little bit? Sydney: Yeah, I mean, like I said, I thought it was a really great game. Obviously, we came out with the outcome that we wanted. So of course I'm gonna be happy about that. I think there's some major holes in the Detroit defense right now, which is part of the reason why I think our offense was so productive, which is great for us. not so great for them. I think they were extremely, extremely frustrated. I mean, you could just tell. They were panning to the bench, Aiden Hutchinson, Dan Campbell. They looked like they were just they didn't know what to do. So, I mean, if you're TB: Ha ha. Sydney: a Bills fan, that's a great thing to see, but as a Detroit fan, I don't think I watching that game as a Detroit fan was probably super discouraging. Like we just stomped all over them. And it was glorious. Like I loved it, don't get me wrong. But it's just crazy when you look at a team and they just look so defeated. so that was crazy. a big takeaway for me. and I'll say I think our defense, you know, it still has a lot to make up, but Greg Rousseau. Where has this been? I'm just so like I feel so impressed by him right now, and I'm glad that he's bringing this. I just I can't wait to see what he does for the rest of the season. That was my major takeaway. I just thought he was so impressive to watch. And yeah, I mean Josh Allen was amazing as always, so of course we'll say that, but we'll get into a little bit more. But those were my my takeaways. TB: Are you talking about the NFL sack leader, Greg Rousseau? Sydney: It was just insane, like holy crap, where did this come from? TB: I may or may not have immediately gone on a certain overseas website and ordered a Greg Rousseau fifteen jersey for the low, low price of I don't know, thirty dollars. So I can't wait for that. I Sydney: Wow. That's all it takes. TB: can't wait for that knockoff to get here. Hopefully by the end of the season. Sydney: Hopefully. TB: But yeah, he play he played great and Dion Walker was fantastic. but we'll we'll we'll dive into it a little bit. Yeah, but let's start. Let's start with with with Josh. Joshua Palmer caught another touchdown. No, just kidding. Fantasy standout extraordinaire. Joshua Palmer, holy cow. That touchdown was awesome. I mean, how much more open can you be? But no, for for real, Josh Allen, 248 passing yards, three passing tutties, another 69 rushing yards, two more rushing touchdowns on the ground. he had a fantastic day. I mean, what what else can you say about him at this point? Did you watch a lot of football on Sunday? I I'm going to bet you did. Sydney: I did, but I will say I took like an hour nap. So I might have missed some stuff. TB: That's fine. it's one of those rare Sundays where you can actually just kick your feet up and kind of just get a lay of the land around the NFL and and try to come up with some opinions and thoughts about some of these other teams. The the one thing I will go back to every time I watch non-Buffalo Bills football, it's if if you can't realize how good Josh Allen is, I don't know what to tell you. This nonsense about how he's not good and he's and we're gonna get into a specific argument here shortly, but I don't want anyone to ever say Josh Allen is not good. He is unbelievable, and it is so much fun to watch him play football. It's not fair. If I was one of these other teams, I gave you a question out of nowhere last week, and it was like the Dolphins, the Browns, or the who was the other one? The Titans. You gotta be a fan of one of those three teams. I would add more teams to that. Because some of these teams are dreadful. They're terrible. I see you, Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. my gosh. What what a what kind of football product are you putting out there? It is painful to watch the bottom third of this league. It is so painful. So the fact that we have Josh Allen and he can just carve up a team like this. he was doing it with his legs at the start of the game, he was doing it with his arm. I mean, pretty pretty good showing. James Cook had 135 rushing yards and a touchdown. And then can you tell me who is third in the league as far as receiving yards in the entire football league after two weeks? Do you know who the number three pass catcher is? Sydney: I'm assuming this is a trick question, so I'm gonna say Shakir. TB: It's Dalton Kincaid is the number three Sydney: wow, yeah. TB: receiver in the entire NFL right now. He had another seven catches on Thursday for 95 yards. I mean, are you kidding me? This guy, please, please, please, please stay healthy because that's gonna be the probably the only preseason prediction I might get right because we'll talk about some of my other ones here shortly. Justin Herbert's trash. So just hang that non Josh Allen MVP trophy in the garbage because he is never going to get there. But yeah, Dalton Kincaid, top five, he might be top three if this keeps up and if Brock Bowers can't get on the field. holy cow. Just unbelievable what Dalton Kincaid unlocks for this offense. Now we saw DJ Moore go down with a scare, shoulder injury. He's considered day-to-day. In fact, I hear tomorrow he might even practice. They've been off Monday and and today. We're recording this on Tuesday night. he's supposed to practice tomorrow, in addition to Ed Oliver, who was a game time scratch. You you you are the one who actually told me about this. I had no idea heading into the stadium that he was a l a last minute scratch, but apparently during warmups. he hurt his hip or something. And it was Joe Brady had about two and a half minutes to make a decision to hold him out of the lineup. And to his point, I think he made a smart one because why risk it? thank God we didn't need it, need him. But yeah, so far Joe Brady's been under fire a little bit, and I think he's made a a a couple smart decisions. so so yeah, but but how good let's let's zoom the camera out a bit a little bit. How good are the bills and how much better? Can they get? What are your reasons for excitement? Do you have any reasons for concern? Hit me. What what do you got? Sydney: Yeah, I mean, I think as long as the team that we have stays healthy right now, I think that we have probably at this point right now in the season the best odds to make the Super Bowl. I mean Looking at these other teams, I think a lot of them are maybe not as good as we expected. and maybe there's some front runners that we maybe didn't see coming that are a little bit better than we were expecting. I mean, we were looking at the Ravens and they just lost to the Saints. So I mean, this is kind of what I was talking about in I think like two episodes ago, is that the team can be so good on paper, but that is just not how this works and it's never gonna be how this works. So getting to see these teams and like what they actually bring is very interesting and I think that we have a a very very strong team. Are we able to be better? A hundred percent but I think that we just played two really, really good teams and we looked elite. So I mean, that's a reason for excitement in itself. the Rams, I don't know if they're as good as everyone was expecting. They lost week one to the 49ers, which I think that they the 49ers have a very good team. So I all I will say right now is time will tell. I think a lot of these teams are gonna start to show their colors and like unfortunately injuries do happen and that does change the traject trajectory of a lot of these teams' futures. I mean, we just saw it with Newark last night. Like, they TB: Yes. Sydney: just lost Dart. I mean, that could literally break their season. And they had a good possibility of maybe winning the division. So I mean, I mean, Jaden Daniels as well. That's two teams out of their division that now who knows what's gonna happen. So it can happen so unexpectedly and you really just never know. but I think as of right now, going into week three, we have a great, great chance. TB: Yeah, yeah, I totally agree. obviously there's some reasons for concern, but there's way more reasons for it to be super excited. Allen has total control of this offense. I mean total control. There's no hesitating. He looks completely at peace. just running this and and trusting the guys. I mean, when Keon catches six balls and has a ton of first down. Really big important plays, big, big important receptions in in that game against Detroit. we already talked about Joshua Palmer. we don't have to rely on Khalil Shakir being the number one guy anymore. Now I know DJ Moore went out and he didn't play the second half, but Keon stepped up, Kincaid stepped up. These guys look like they have a new lease on life. I know it's only week two, so I'm gonna pump the brakes a little bit. But it looks like a totally refocused, re-enerized Buffalo Bills team at the start of this season. I know we always start really strong, and then, you know, we usually run into a two-day, two-game slide here or there, but I don't know. I I I'm feeling optimistic. Yes, let's let's talk about the defense for for a second. it struggled a little bit. It did. It struggled a little bit, but I don't know if anyone can stay with. Amon Ross St. Brown, he was unbelievable. That guy is a beast. So Bernard, he struggled, he struggled guarding him. but I I don't think there's there's a cornerback in the league right now that can that can match up with him for 60 minutes because that guy is elite. He is elite. And watching him play from the stands, awesome experience. I'm just like, you can't cover this guy. You cannot cover this guy every time. They needed him to get open. He was open. And when Jared Goff is on schedule, when he's when his timing is down, he is excellent. When when he's flustered and he's rushed and he comes off his reads, that's where he gets into trouble. I don't think he played bad. I think the the beginning of the game just like like you said, they got steamrolled right out the gate. And they were like, my goodness. So, you know, you get Sydney: Yeah, they couldn't catch a break. TB: I think there are some positive signs on the defensive side of the ball. No, to your point, Greg Rousseau looks awesome. Deion Walker is I I c I think I said defensive breakout player of the year. And after two games, he's well on his way. I mean, this guy is unbelievable. But look, the pass defense has to be locked up a little bit. Now, essentially what the Bills had to do. Is play two games in four, four or five days. Now that they get an extra break, almost like a mini buy, and we're rolling into the next week three, you know, a home game, one o'clock, kind of settle down a little bit. We get we get the emotion of opening the stadium on a Thursday night. We kind of get that out of the way, get back to basics, get get back to game plan. I think you'll see some of the defensive flaws maybe start to lock it lock in a little bit. And and some of these next few games that we thought were going to be daunting when we did our season breakdown, season preview, maybe they're not so daunting anymore. and and we'll get to to week three here in a second. But let's take a look around the NFL unless you have anything else from from the the Bills Lions game before you want to move on. Sydney: No, yeah, we can move on. TB: Did you want to give a shout out to T Bass for missing the extra point or are we good? Sydney: I'll just let slide just this once. TB: I mean, he couldn't have missed at a better time. So you want to talk non-pressure situation? Hey, get the shank out of the way now because we Sydney: Yeah. TB: we might need you to win us a game here in the next Sydney: Yeah just get it out now. TB: Yeah. man. So you you took a nap, but I'm sure you know what went on around the league. some of these contenders that we thought were gonna step up don't look so good. And and let's talk about our week three opponent. first of all, they're and two. They lost twenty six to fourteen to the Raiders. I put a lot of stock Sydney: Yeah. TB: in Mike McDaniel and Justin Herbert. I got half this team on my fantasy squad and we suck. So I don't know. They look terrible. the Ravens, to your point, they lost to the Saints. Now, the Saints, maybe the Saints are good because they gave Detroit a run for it. and they almost won that game. So maybe the Saints are good. maybe the Ravens, but you know, the Ravens always seem to blow these fourth quarter leads somehow. I'm not sure how. And Lamar threw this absolute meatball of an interception to end that game. I don't know what that was about. The Chiefs, they're sitting at two and You picked them as a top five threat to the Bills, and it seems like they're right back there in the top five. what what which of these teams, which of these contenders, pretenders do you want to talk about? Sydney: I'm impressed by the Saints. I think in week one, giving Detroit a run for your money is really, really impressive to me. They've a pretty young quarterback. I mean, he's not actually young, but he is, I think it's his second year in the league. I think he TB: Yeah. Sydney: sat for most of last year. So his first official time even playing, and I think that he looks pretty good. And for the most part, like their offense looked good. so I don't know if that's a reflection of them or a reflection of just their opponents not playing well. It's really hard to tell so early on in the season. but I wanna give a shout out to to Drew Locke because wow. I mean TB: Okay. Sydney: it's kind of cool to see I mean, well, it's not great. It's not great when your top quarterback goes out. Of course, it's never good. but getting to see how your backups actually play is really interesting. And we saw that last night with Jameis and he sucked. He was absolutely awful. TB: He did not eat that dub. Sydney: No, it was really, really disappointing to see 'cause I like Jameis. I think he's a really fun, cool guy, but he might not be able to play football anymore. I don't know. He I that was terrible. but when your backup can come in and lock down the game, That's impressive to me. I mean, TB: Yeah. Sydney: he came out and beat the Patriots. I mean, how cool is that? Like, that's pretty sick. so I just want to give a shout out to him. Some of the throws that I've seen him make was just, I mean, he has talent. So it's really cool to see the the backups come out. Obviously, we saw Mariota as well. He's a lot older than a lot of these backups. who is the one in Atlanta, he's terrible. Carson Wentz, he's TB: gosh. Sydney: terrible. I think they they're just they're panicking. They're panicking. TB: you're talking about Minnesota. Carson once Sydney: yes, I'm sorry. yeah, they're they're panicking. So TB: Well, Atlanta already came out and said that Penix is starting Thursday because they have the Thursday night game this week. Sydney: They are I don't know what they're gonna do. TB: That team is a mess. There, that's another one I would add to to the who if you have to be a fan of who you're gonna pick, they have no one, absolutely no one. And they already are showing players on the team basically like, I I don't wanna be here already. And it's week two. I mean, can you imagine Bijan Robinson, one of the best running backs in the league? He's got no shot. to do anything on that team because they have no threat Sydney: Yeah. TB: of a passing game. They they can't they can't do anything. did you happen to see any of the Patriots Steelers game? Sydney: No, I didn't, but I did see Aaron Rodgers just absolutely like get killed pretty much. That was like the one thing that I saw. And I mean, he's pretty old at this point. So like any hit like that, you're kinda like, Ooh, like is he like alive? Like you don't really know. So it's just I I mean, we've talked about it so many times, I just don't understand what they're doing. Like they have Two or three good young backups that have the potential to do something, and here we are just making sure Aaron Rodgers goes out of his retirement tour and he finishes up his last year. Like, what are we doing? Your fans are tired. Like, your fans are just so over this crap that you guys are doing as a franchise. Let them free. Like let them watch a team that has a chance. It's just so unfair. And they have a good fan base. Like I just I can't even like fathom it. It's just insane to me. TB: So we had two TVs going. On the main TV, we had Ravens Saints. Obviously, Jamie's a Ravens fan, so we were watching that game. And then on the second TV for the first half, I had the Patriots and the I was going back and forth between Patriots, Steelers, and Bengals, Texans. The Patriots Steelers game was dreadful to watch. It was terrible. And and the Steelers offense is god awful. And we talked about this before. Karma is a you know what. So shame on the Steelers for actually putting their money on this guy yet again. And what happened, what happened yesterday and today, he's already throwing the coaching staff under the bus and blaming everyone but himself. This guy is not a leader. He's a turd sandwich. He needs to get off the field. I can't stand him. It it sucks because when he was young in his career. out of California. I love the guy. I loved watching him play. He played with fire and passion. Now he's just this bitter old man who just it just seems like he hates everything. And and shame on the Steelers for entrusting your franchise to this guy yet again. So I have Sydney: Yeah. TB: I I am going to enjoy watching the downfall of the Steelers as the season goes on and on and on because you you get what you signed up for. That's what you get. but On the other side of the ball, Drake May, something's wrong with him. Something has to be wrong with him. His arm looks shot already. I'm like, what is going on? This guy can't throw a ball anymore. And yeah, suddenly week four, Patriots at Buffalo. That game doesn't seem so daunting. I know the Patriots have a a good defense, but again, they just played this lifeless Aaron Rodgers-led offense. So, how much faith and trust do I want to put That their defense is awesome when they're going against 98-year-old Aaron Rodgers. It was terrible, terrible performance. And Drake Mace throwing up these lame duck pickles all day again. And I'm just like, these guys are terrible. What am I watching? So I flipped it to Joe Burrow and company. the Texans, I don't know. They scored six points. Six points? I know they lost Nico Collins after the Bills game, but yikes. They couldn't run the ball. Obviously, Cincinnati, one of both of our sleeper teams coming into the season when we previewed them. Look out because they could go on a roll and they could be right there at the end of this thing fighting for that number one seed. And did you happen to see the Jamar Chase touchdown? Sydney: Yeah, I mean he is just insane. Like and he said in an interview he didn't even realize that he did it. Like he just does these things so instinctually, it's insane. I just he's one of those players that it's like, Holy crap, I don't even know. TB: He's catching these insane touchdowns. What do you have? Two touchdowns, I think, in that game. And then on the other side of the field, T. Higgins, he catches like, I don't know, nine for like 95. I'm like, this these guys are just awesome. that that's gonna be a dangerous team, especially if their defense keeps looking as good as as they have been. it's crazy. It's crazy. And then, yeah, the injuries, let's talk about, let's talk about your boy, JD five. What did you think of the what did you think of that game? Sydney: it's so frustrating because I think Jaden was absolutely cooking the Cowboys. I think if TB: He looked great. Sydney: if he would have continued playing that game they would have won. Without a doubt, they would have won that game. He is so dangerous when he uses his legs. He might be one of the best runners, like in the NFL. I mean, he he's so great on his feet and he can make plays happen, but it's just so unfortunate. Like it really is sad to see. Like you just see a very talented player with a lot of potential that just can't stay healthy and it's it's just upsetting to see. I mean, obviously Mike, I feel so bad for him. Genuinely. It's just you can't catch a break. I don't wanna I'm not gonna blame the injury on Dan Quinn, but I think Dan Quinn is done. I think he's he might be gone by the middle of the season, if not the end of the season, he's gone. There's no way. TB: Yeah, that's tough. Look, you can never predict injuries, but obviously you have to protect your players and try to avoid certain situations. And I I I think I texted you, I appreciate the aggressiveness because there's what three seconds left in the game in the half at that point. look, you're you're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't. So I don't know. I don't want to pass judgment on the the decision to to go for it there You know, in that moment of time, but is this the second or third time his elbow's been dislocated? Third time. I mean, Sydney: Third it happened twice last year. TB: same thing. I'm not tuned into the commanders, but is there any way to protect this from happening? Can he wear some sort of brace? Can he is is that even allowed? Sydney: I don't know. It I don't it's not it's not his throwing arm, which is great. Like this injury is is he can come back from it, but why does this keep happening? I don't know. TB: Exactly. I don't even know. I I don't know like the regulations. Are are quarterbacks even allowed to to wear something like that? If if there's some sort of brace or contraption he could put on his left arm to prevent this, I don't know. Is that even allowed for a quarterback? Sydney: Who knows? I mean, even if he was to wear it, it might affect his his motion a little bit. I'm not exactly sure. TB: Sure. But what do you what do you do at this point? I mean, now Sydney: Well. TB: now if it keeps happening, it's only going to keep getting worse or more likely to happen. And you can't have any faith that he's going to be reliable and be out there for sixteen, seventeen games a season. And now you have to put your hopes and dreams on Marcus Mariota. I mean, here we go again. I mean, Washington could be looking at a bottom five pick if they don't figure this out. ASAP. Sydney: Yeah, I mean they have Marcus Mariota. He didn't he didn't look awful, but he didn't look good. but they also have a really young quarterback that they drafted this past year, who I think if Marcus is not playing well and Jaden's out for a few weeks, give him a shot. Honestly. He played pretty well in the preseason. I feel like, you know, just give him a chance. Who knows? I don't know. TB: Yeah. Yeah, it's it's it's crazy. But if you had to pick one team through two weeks that's changed your mind the most so far, who are you gonna go with? Sydney: Honestly the Saints. I mean, I don't think anyone was expecting them to even be giving these teams any run for their money. I'm not picking them by any means to go to the Super Bowl. I'm not picking them TB: yeah, yeah, yeah. Sydney: to to do anything like that. I'm just saying that they have impressed me and I think they've impressed a lot of people. and just getting close in these games, those were two great teams that they played. The Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Ravens. I mean, those were two teams that we had in our our top picks for the season. And they gave them a really, really good shot. So I don't know. I think that that's pretty impressive in my opinion. TB: Yeah. No, yeah, they they definitely played played with a lot of passion, with a lot of guts on Sunday. it was it was impressive to see them come back against a strong Baltimore team. But I do want to talk about Sydney: Yeah. TB: an issue that came out immediately following Bills Lions. Josh obviously had five touchdowns, so he's standing at nine total touchdowns through two weeks. I got on social media and I probably shouldn't, and immediately I'm looking at some of these clowns and trolls. And they're already saying that Josh Allen is stat padding. Have you heard any of this? Sydney: Yeah, I have. TB: So for those that don't know what I'm talking about, the the allegation is anytime they get down to like the one two yard line, instead of handing the ball off to James Cook and giving him the easy touchdown, Josh is taking it himself because he's selfish and he's essentially patting his stats to make it look like he's so much better than he is. I have a huge, huge problem with this, but I'm gonna let you give your two cents first. If you have anything to say Sydney: Yeah. TB: at all. Sydney: I just think this is ridiculous. I mean if you know Josh as a person, if you've like listened to literally anything he said in the media, you know that that is literally not at all his character. I mean, he wants everyone on the offense to succeed. He just wants the team to win. I mean, to say that he's selfishly just taking touchdowns for himself, I mean, that couldn't be farther from his character. at least from what I've seen. Of course I don't know him personally, but from what I mean, so many people that are close to him have said he's just a very humble person and he I I just don't believe that for a single second at all. TB: Yeah, it it's super, super frustrating. But let's break the game down a little bit. The very first touchdown came after he had just had that big run and had gotten all the way down to like the half yard line. And so why would he not run the ball in there? The very first touchdown in brand new high mark, you're on the half yard line. Are you telling me if I'm Joe Brady calling the plays? I'm not going to give it to my out of this world superstar quarterback who essentially built the stadium for us. I'm giving that one to him. Okay. That's that's a no-brainer. but then again, they had a second and goal from the one, and he threw it to Dawson Knox. Remember that one? That he found Knox open in the end zone. look. This guy's a dual threat phenomenon. But my other point, I heard an interview on Monday with Connor McGovern on the offensive line. He's a center. And they talked about the quote unquote tush push and the nature of that play and how difficult or easy they asked him. They're like, tell us about this play, what goes on. During the course of this play, and he flat out said, This play sucks. It's it's hell. It puts so much stress and undue beating on your body. He said, There's quarterbacks in the league that flat out refuse to do it because of the beating they take. And Josh is a freak of nature. He almost welcomes that. He loves the pain. He refuses to tell people when what. He's got a broken hand. He's got a broken foot that required surgery. He we call him the winner soldier. He welcomes that pain. Meanwhile, there's other quarterbacks who flat out refuse to do it. I've never seen Lamar do a tush push. Have you? I know I know they have Derrick Henry, who's a human wrecking ball. So why would you? But it's like you take our quarterback and running back and you reverse them with their quarterback and running back. We got the tank at QB. They got the tank at running back. Lamar is Closer in statue to Cook than Josh Allen, you know? Sydney: Mm. TB: So, and I don't know. The argument just doesn't hold water. And I'm tired of these clowns that just say he's not good because all this dude does is run it in from the one yard line. And they forget about the other 90 or 80 or 70 yards that he just accounted for and helped to get down the field. It just it's so frustrating. I'm just I'm tired of it. And the thing that concerns me the most. About the goal to go tush pushes is is the physical toll that it could take on on on Josh. I don't know. That's just kind of how I see it. But I the whole stat padding nonsense conversation. I just the trolls are s are are everywhere. And I I think sometimes I just need to get off social media because it's bad. It's so bad. It's so bad. You have anything else on this? Yes. Sydney: They just try to rage bait you. No, I see stuff all the time and I think, you know, obviously he's doing something right. They gotta make up this crap to talk about him because they have nothing else to say. So that's TB: Yeah. Sydney: essentially what it is at the end of the day. TB: Exactly. I think for the most part, like we talked about DJ Moore and we talked about Ed Oliver being our two main in injury concerns around the league. There was some chaos though. We talked about Jackson Dart, who knows how long he's gonna be out. That looks like like what was it, an MCL sprain in his knee? Sydney: They came out today and they they said that it is a lot more severe than they originally thought and it could be he's out for the season. TB: That was today? Sydney: They came out today and said that. TB: He's done. Sydney: They haven't confirmed, but they said that it's a lot more severe than they originally thought. Yeah. Yeah. TB: no, that's brutal. I mean, he got s I don't know if you saw the play, but he got sandwiched. His knee got Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: sandwiched between two different players. It looked kind of it didn't look like there was like a torque or a twisting or anything. It just looked like it got completely sandwiched in there. And I can't I can't even imagine. So that sucks. Sydney: Yeah. TB: obviously the Jaden situation is terrible. And then good old Caleb Williams. So it's possible he plays. Sydney: Yeah. He's a he he he's a theatrical person. We knew this. TB: It's possible he is ready to go come Sunday. So look, I don't play in the NFL. I am not a starting quarterback. I'm not even a punter. So I don't know what my pain tolerance would be. I've had various injuries in my life, some are quite painful. have I ever put on a show like that in front of a national audience? I don't know. I don't know what I would do in that situation, but the performance he put on and the fist to the crowd and all this stuff, and then they come to find out mere hours later, it's just a hammy and he's might he might be ready to play on Sunday. I mean, I don't know. How do you come back from this if you're Caleb Williams? Sydney: I don't know. He he always seems to find himself in these very strange situations. And I honestly feel like he thrives on this. So I'm sure he will be fine. it all just is a little bit bizarre, but hey, to each their own. TB: Is he like Teflon? Nothing's gonna stick to this guy. He just keeps rolling like like water off a duck's back. Sydney: He yeah, I guess so. He is just a very theatrical person and he's TB: Fair enough. Sydney: drama. He's just a lot of drama. TB: Okay. I mean, look, I don't ever want to see anyone injured. I want the best to be out there. I want the best going against the best. Let's see who who who wins this thing. So if you watched what's the name, Tyler Bajent. Is that his name? Badget? I don't know. What's what's the backup? Sydney: Who is that? TB: Who's the backup that qu came in? Sydney: I have no idea. That could be I'm not really sure who their backup is. TB: Maybe I got that wrong. I think that I thought that was his name. He was terrible. That game was awful. Now I know there was terrible weather, but six to three? Are you kidding me? That game was garbage. And this is after they said, we're gonna be the best, highest scoring offense ever. And they laid three points down. Okay, good job. Anyway. Anyway, let's let's turn our attention back to the Mike McDaniel offense of the of the Chargers who are coming into town for week three, one o'clock game. Bills vs Chargers, Sunday, September twenty seventh at New High Mark Stadium. Look, the the LA Chargers are 0 and 2. Is this the curse of Madison Beer, first of all? Sydney: I guess so. I didn't see this coming, honestly. I just am a little shocked. I don't even know what to say. TB: Did you watch any of this game? The Chargers game? Sydney: Not really, I just know that he was god awful. TB: They look so out of sync. They look like they've never practiced. They look like they didn't have training camp. Nothing. They just they're terrible. They actually at one point, I don't know if you saw this highlight, he throws this ball downfield, probably 30, 40 yards. And it looks like it's going to one guy and his own teammate bats the ball down. Did you see this? And they're staring at Sydney: No, I didn't. TB: each other like, what are you doing? Like they don't even know who the ball is supposed to go to. Sydney: insane. TB: I mean, I don't know. hardball might not last. You you said commander's coach might not make it. I don't know. Sydney: I just I can't believe their own too. It's really crazy. TB: They're 0 2. The spread for this Bills Chargers game is Bills by 7. how do we feel about that spread? Sydney: I love it. I love TB: Okay. Sydney: it. TB: It was five. Now it's seven. look, I don't want to get carried away. Here's my here's my thought. Week three, bills are flying high, charges are all time low. They're a dumpster fire. We don't want them coming in here with with like season on the line vibes, right? So I don't want this Sydney: Yeah. TB: to be a trap game. Week three. The bills still gotta be ready to go. But look, all signs point to not good for the Chargers. Bills have extra rest. Chargers are coming all the way across the country for a one o'clock kick. That never bodes well for the West Coast team. They look completely out of sync. Lad McConkey, who's probably their best offensive weapon, he's got busted up ribs. He wasn't very effective for week two. even Cameron Dicker, the kicker, who I thought was amazing, is not doing anything so far. So I don't want to spend a ton of time on this game, but. I feel like we could we could summarize it pretty quick. I think we gotta keep pressure on on Herbert and and throw him into making some or force him into making some more bad decisions because he's made a ton so far. And maybe we could Sydney: Yeah. TB: get some turnovers. Maybe this is the week we see the secondary kind of pick it up a little. What do you think? Sydney: Yeah, I hope so. I mean, I just wanna see some players kinda come to life. I feel like we really haven't seen much from Cole Bishop. he hasn't really, you know, made his presence known quite yet. what the heck is his name? CJ Gardner Johnson. What where where are you at? Where are you TB: CJ Gardner Johnson. Yep. I don't know. Sydney: at? But you're doing a lot of this. So I need you to like do a lot of this and just start playing. TB: Right. Sydney: I'm not one for the trash talking. I don't like I I like it tastefully. I feel like he does it distastefully. I don't always love that. And I feel like we don't usually gravitate towards players like that on the bills. So he's a little different. so I'm not sure what to make of that quite yet. But I just don't like the trash talk when you're when you're getting cooked on the field. So can we do a little less than that? TB: Yeah, he's not even backing it up. Sydney: No, he's getting cooked by almond raw, so I just need less of that and more of actual planning. Please. Thank you. TB: Yeah, I I definitely think the secondary needs to step it up this game. If Bradley Chubb, if Rousseau, if Deion Walker, they could keep the pass rush coming. and we can force Herbert into some quick, not so smart decisions. Maybe the secondary can get some turnovers. I would love to see a pickle or two from us from us come Sunday. That that would be great. I think we need to get James Cook going again. force LA to respect the run. And look, I tried to find people that I'm scared of on this side of the ball for for the Chargers. I don't have too many names. Is Khalil Mack still on this team? I don't know. I can't remember. I didn't really do a deep dive into the defensive roster. Maybe I should have, but I don't know. How dangerous is this Chargers team coming in at 0 2 with a quarterback who clearly has talent. He's threw massive yards before. We know the pedigree is there. It's only a matter of time before they all get on the same page. I just don't want it to happen Sunday. what's the likelihood Sydney: Yeah. TB: of that happening? Sydney: I mean, I don't wanna say it's likely, but I just they definitely have to have a chip on their shoulder here. I mean, they pretty much got embarrassed the first two weeks. So them coming into this game, I am gonna predict that they're probably gonna come out pretty aggressive if they can. I would be absolutely just baffled if they continue the season and three. Of course I would love it, but I just think that They're not they don't seem like they're a awful team. So this is just like really, really crazy that this is happening, but maybe they are. I mean, like I said, you just never know in the NFL and anything could happen. So I don't think that they're gonna be as bad as they were previous weeks, but who knows? We can only hope. TB: Yeah, I mean their first two games were at home and they look terrible. Look terrible. So I think the Bills just need to climb out of bed, go to work, put put their foot on their throats, and and don't let off the gas. And I would love to see Kyle Allen finish this game with a healthy Josh waving and and you know ramping up the crowd from the sidelines because we have such a big lead. look, I think Joe Brady. his his mentality this year needs to continue to be all gas, no breaks, don't let off the pedal. I've been asking for this for three years. It looks like through two games that it's finally happening. I want it to keep happening. So let's play this with urgency. Let's let's kick while they're down, if you will. and and get to three and so we can rest up for for the Patriots. But there's no reason, no reason at all we should lose this game. I bet you DJ Moore suits up. I betcha Ed Oliver suits up. looks like Ty Johnson's gonna be coming back this game. So I think he's gonna be ready to go. And then obviously on the Chargers injury front, David Njoku was carted off the field. He sustained a terrible knee injury. I think he's done for the season. Don't quote me on that, but I think he he got a pretty, pretty bad injury. So I don't know who they have. I'm not S sold on Hampton, the running back. I think we've done well against Gibbs and Montgomery. So Hampton ain't really gonna give me nightmares. And then, like I said, Ladd McConkey with the the ribs, I don't know who they who they lean on on the offensive side of the ball. So if we can keep them in check and avoid the big plays, I think we should be fine. So do you have a prediction for this game? Sydney: I'm gonna say thirty-four to ten. TB: Okay. Yeah, that's pretty much the same realm. I was thinking thirty-four seventeen and that that last tutty on the Chargers part comes in like garbage time. So I'm I'm right there with you. I I think this should be a relatively easy Sunday afternoon. And then we rest up and we get ready for Drake May to come to town. So so there we go. what's your stress level for the for Sunday at one? Sydney: I'm gonna say like a four. I'm feeling pretty chill right now. It's still early TB: Yeah. Sydney: in the week, so haven't given it too much thought, but maybe it'll increase a little bit. But as of right now I'd say it's a four. TB: Yeah, I I tend to agree with you. I'm right there. Probably a three, maybe four by kickoff. but yeah, I think that's good. You got anything else on football you want to talk about before we switch our attention? All right, Sydney: No, I think that's it. TB: let's talk wrestling. Wrestling marks, you are on the clock. How are we feeling? I gotta talk about Monday Night Raw just over a week ago from Mexico City. I don't know if you saw any of the clips of this. I know you had some issues with your Netflix. The main event of Monday Night Raw was Penta. Versus Roman Reigns for the title. Now, this match has been set up for months. They put a tournament together to decide who would face Roman at this very show. And most most of the luchadores were in this tournament. and I think only because of the location of this show. But Penta comes out. Did you see any of it at all? Or not not really? Penta came out, awesome look. He had like this full headdress thing on. And if if you do get to watch this, I I encourage you. It's it was one of the coolest matches I've seen in quite some time. Totally different styles. Penta is a luchador, kind of fast. He's flying all over the place. Roman is very powerhouse. He's very slow and methodical, followed by some quick explosive moves, you know, like the Superman punch. The spear, those kind of things. But outside of those two moves, his set is very slow. It's very methodical. And the crowd, obviously being in Mexico City, was 100% for Penta. Look, when I when I sat down to watch this, I had zero faith that Penta was going to win. but there were points in this match I was probably up to my gosh, are they really gonna do it? 70% chance that Penta was gonna win this thing and pull it off. I mean, I was on the edge of my seat. This was one of those matches where I'm like, it they got me. They got me. They they they pulled me in, they got me, and for 20 minutes I was locked in. And this was awesome because Roman Reigns was taunting the crowd. He was basically shouting insults to them and just doing whatever he could to rile them up. And he made Penta and Penta made Roman look like a freaking million bucks. It's a pairing you didn't think would work, and it worked flawlessly. Penta has a move called the Mexican Destroyer, in which he basically flips over his opponent and kind of catches them with the back of his legs, and then they do a pile driver. It's a sick move, and I've never seen Roman put himself in a position to take a move set like this because he's essentially doing a reverse somersault. And it kind of puts him in a very awkward position. And he did it twice and he made Penta look awesome. And so I just want to tip my cap to these guys and to this show because it was so much fun and it's been needed. Raw's kind of been I've kind of been in and out, and you know, I'll watch the highlights and you know, watch it on fast forward. But this match, this match was awesome. And the crowd and the entrances. It made it seem like such a bigger event, such a bigger thing. And it was awesome. So yeah, I just kind of wanted to talk about that real quick. if you get a chance, I strongly encourage you to to check it out. but it leads to another conversation of this thing that Roman's doing at this point in his career. He's taking on these different matches that we historically haven't seen him wrestle. And he's making his opponents just look awesome. Now, when he first kind of separated from the shield, that was not what was happening. And I think that was because back then he just he didn't have the experience and the the wherewithal. It was as like, hey, I'm being pushed to the moon and this is my thing, and then I'm kinda I don't want to say he was selfish, but it's it's clear, it's evident in the last six months, maybe a year. That he is definitely passing that baton on, maybe not with the belt, maybe not with wins, but with the way he handles and respects and treats his opponents and makes them shine. what are your thoughts on me rambling for five minutes about this? Sydney: No, yeah, I think that that's being a good wrestler is one thing, but being able to make someone else look like a good wrestler is another thing. And I think that that just kinda adds to the talent of the person that is in the ring. 'cause not everyone can do that. And I think sometimes you see the opposite effects that two people are in the ring and both of them just look terrible. I think you talked about that a little bit with the CM Punk match, like they just didn't look very good and not that they aren't Good, but that particular match maybe wasn't the best reflection of either of them. So when you can put on a show for 30 to 40 minutes, and you can really just put yourself on the line essentially, but also like you're just making your opponent look very, very good, and you're adding that you know element of this is still a show and a performance, like that's just really cool, in my opinion. TB: Yeah, and he's making the moment feel so much bigger than it actually is. And that, like you can't, I don't think that's something you could teach, right? And it and Sydney: Yeah. TB: you talked about it before with aura and a presence. Roman is at the top of the game. I don't care what company you're talking about, he has this innate ability to be the main event from the minute he walks out of the curtain through the intro, through the match. And you can like him as a wrestler. I don't care, but you can't watch his matches and not feel this sense of wow, this is an important event. I'm watching a random Monday night raw from Mexico City against Penta, who I knew had no chance to win it. And I'm like, Holy crap, is he actually gonna win this thing? Because Roman elevates the moment, the show, the match, the opponent, and There's not many people out there who are at the top of the game that can do that right now. So I I thought it was I thought it was awesome. I thought it was awesome. And then you flip the page and you're you're talking about SmackDown and what I watched two weeks ago and what I watched last Friday. And the Sami Zayn, CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Schmazola, and they kept the crap going last week. And I'm just like, my gosh, this is terrible. So it's like night and day. It's night and day. And I I I never want to make this a review show. And talk for two hours about every match on Raw and SmackDown and all this stuff. That's never been my intention. But it's moments like the Monday Night Raw main event, Penta, Roman, that I think take take five minutes and talk about it. Because look, if you're a wrestling fan and and you didn't see that, that's that's a cool thing. Cool thing to see. And it's crazy because on the same show, they had almost a better wrestling match earlier in the show. Chad Gable, we talked about it. his his His card that I just bought. This guy's the current Intercontinental Champion. He had a match against who did he fight? Dragon Lee. These guys, my goodness, this match was insane. I'm thinking I'm watching WrestleMania when these two guys are fighting. This match was awesome. So it's clear that Chad Gable is like the work rate guy. He's putting on the wrestling clinics. He can make every match look. Awesome. Not to the like gravity of a Roman Reigns, but as far as a technical ability, as far as a wrestler, he this dude is. I don't know how many wrestlers are better technically than this dude right now because it's it's crazy. Sydney: Yeah. TB: It's crazy. So anyway, that's kind of what I wanted to talk about. We get we got a couple big shows coming up on the horizon. I think October 10th is money in the bank. Might try to do a preview show or at least a preview segment, have Mike on and and break down that that show. They're doing the qualifying matches for some of the money in the bank matches for that show. And I think Roman Reigns is going to end up fighting LA Knight. Yeah. At the for the belt. So that's going to be the main event. That'll be that'll be good. I I'm excited to see that. but but let's turn our attention to card talk hobby enthusiast you are on the clock. Hey big release big release this week. the return of Topps Heritage Football. Now, you used to listen to the pod all the time. You're one of my you're one of my biggest fans before I convince you to join as as co-host. I know you've heard me talk about heritage baseball before. It's one of my favorite products. Heritage is like a throwback set to days of old, if you will. Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: Well, Topps has the football license now, and they just came out. With Topps Heritage Football. I got a little excited. I can't wait. And I'm going to share my screen and we're going to kind of go through this here. Can you see that? Sydney: Yeah. TB: All right. So let me pull this up. So 2026 Topps Heritage Football, classic football design meets today's biggest, brightest stars, rookies, and autograph content. So basically, what this is, this is a huge, huge set. I think there's like four hundred cards in the base, but and we'll scroll down here. So this is the look. This is the way the cards looked in nineteen seventy six. So fifty years ago, this was the design that the cards had. So Sydney: Hm. TB: this Drake May base image right here. actually no. Hold on, let me get back. I'm trying to get a base card. It's hard to see. but anyway, you see how they're kind of like throwback with the colors and the the borders and the way these cars Sydney: Yeah. TB: are designed? What's your initial thought when you look at this? Is this something you like or something you don't like? And I'll give you my opinion here in a minute. Sydney: Yeah. I think they're cool. I think they kinda look like out of like an old magazine kind of TB: Yes. Sydney: feel. TB: Yes. Sydney: I like I think they're neat. TB: I wish they had more things to look at, but that doesn't appear to be the case. So anyway, we'll stop sharing that. but Heritage historically is one of my favorite baseball sets. I love trying to put these sets together, and it's one of those things where they they do very small changes and very it it's like It's a c it's a set for collectors. So you're not gonna get the huge Sydney: Mm. TB: the huge hits. it's very, very difficult to hit an autograph, a big, big time autograph in these, in these cards, in these sets. but it went on sale yesterday for pre-sale. And I bought a box. So what do you think a hobby box went for? So hobby box is. Contains, let me see if I can find it here. Eight cards per pack, 20 packs per box. So you get 160 cards in a hobby box. What do you think a hobby box went for? And you're guaranteed one autograph or one relic per box. So a relic is like a patch Sydney: Hmm. TB: or you know, some sort of game used or event used item. Sydney: I'm gonna say eighty nine ninety nine. TB: That's not bad. That's not bad. I would have loved to get it for $89.99. It was $129.99. How we Sydney: Okay. If that's too bad, maybe a little TB: I think, Sydney: high for what I would spend. TB: yeah. Yeah. I was happy with it. I'll I'll I'll say that. I Sydney: Okay. Okay. TB: was happy with it. I love this set. It's a nostalgia set. You know I'm big on nostalgia. I love the way the cards look. They use kind of like a different paper, a different card stock. Sydney: Mm. TB: They use a different photography, different colors. Obviously, this is a throwback to 50 years ago. so I I'm super excited. I don't actually know when this comes out. This was just a pre-sale. so anyway, I'm kinda excited. Sydney: No, that's that's neat. TB: and I know Josh Allen signs in this, so if I could, you know, if if the hobby hobby gods are shining down on me when I open this thing and I could somehow pull a Josh Allen on card auto auto, that would be awesome. But I know some of the rookies aren't that great. So if you had to pick between for Fernando Mendoza, Jeremiah Love, Carnell Tate, Ty Simpson. as possible targets. Who of those four would you be going after? Sydney: Probably Mendoza or Jeremiah Love. TB: Yeah. Sydney: probably not Ty Simpson. maybe like there's some other ones that are pretty good. like it would be cool, Jadarian Price would be in there. Like that's a pretty good TB: Yeah. Sydney: one. but yeah, I mean like Sonny Styles, he's cool. I think there's a a couple good rookies out there, that could possibly be Good pulls. But I guess we'll see. TB: Yeah. Yeah, I guess we'll see. I gotta dive into the checklist a little bit, but there's there's some decent Buffalo Bills on this. I know a lot of Skylar Bell rookie cards are in this set. Sydney: Mm-hmm. TB: so we'll see. Maybe if DJ Moore is they're gonna hold off on him, maybe he gets in the game this weekend. but but you never know. look, Heritage is is it's a set that kind of draws me back in. And I haven't opened any product in a while. I've been focusing more on the singles market and just buying specific cards. So this is the set that I always love to open for baseball. And then I was like, man, do I have to do this? I think I do. So I'm excited. I can't wait to see when it comes out. hope hopefully soon. Hopefully maybe within a month or so. but but yeah so That's all I got. any anything else you wanna talk about before we put a bow on this bad boy? Sydney: No, I think that was pretty good. We talked about a lot. TB: Yeah, it's it's been a busy week, so I don't want to keep us going too long. But you feel like closing us out from your new new digs, new apartment there in what town are you in? I don't even know where where where the hell you live now. that's right. That Sydney: I can't say I can't say. TB: that's right. But not no longer Duvall. So do you wanna you wanna close us out? Sydney: Yeah. but no, I think it was a lot of fun just kind of chatting about some stuff going on around the league and wrestling and cards. So thank you guys for listening and tuning in and we hope that you will join us again next week and we'll talk about some more fun stuff, but other than that, we appreciate it and that's all for me. TB: All right. Well, as always, keep doing what you love and go, Bills. We will see you later. Sydney: School bells. See you later.
