- 1:09Speaker 1: Texas takes the series opener from the Kentucky Wildcats. They're
- 1:14Speaker 1: gonna try to steal the run and throw back the second.
- 1:15Speaker 2: The tag is there for an hour, two down. A
- 1:19Speaker 2: great job of stepping off.
- 1:21Speaker 3: They were trying to create a bog and so smart
- 1:26Speaker 3: at veteran player. He steps off with his back foot,
- 1:29Speaker 3: then he can throw the baseball anywhere.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Really nice job of not panicking.
- 1:33Speaker 1: The two ball, two strike. Pitch to Burkes swinging a man,
- 1:36Speaker 1: struck him out. Big strikeout there, big defensive playing the
- 1:40Speaker 1: log Horns out of trouble in the bottom of the
- 1:42Speaker 1: first and the pitch swung on it, that's gonna be
- 1:45Speaker 1: lined in the center field of base hit coming in
- 1:47Speaker 1: the score from thurdis du Quay Stewart stopping at second
- 1:50Speaker 1: base is Ryland Galvon rbi single from Jalen Flores puts
- 1:54Speaker 1: the log Horns on top one to nothing. Galvon at
- 1:57Speaker 1: second ars versus, here's a high flight off. This one
- 1:59Speaker 1: hit the to the alley and left center field, and
- 2:01Speaker 1: that is going to be off the wall. One run
- 2:04Speaker 1: scores rounding third headed for the plate floor's evil score
- 2:09Speaker 1: Will Gasparino.
- 2:10Speaker 2: A cap shot to left.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Center field gives the log Horns a three to nothing lead.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Here's the first pitch to Devin Burks, swings here, pops
- 2:18Speaker 1: it up in the infield, calling for Riojas, makes the catch,
- 2:22Speaker 1: slams his glove down to the turf in triumph, and
- 2:27Speaker 1: Riojas gets out of danger. In the fifth, buyers the
- 2:31Speaker 1: first pitch swung on ant is line toward the alley
- 2:34Speaker 1: in right center, slicing catch made by Montoya, tagging at
- 2:39Speaker 1: third and coming in. The score is Gasparino. It's a
- 2:42Speaker 1: sacrifice fly in an RBI from Tommy Farmer and it's
- 2:45Speaker 1: four to one. Texas Sonier out of the stretch. Here's
- 2:50Speaker 1: the pitch and it's chopped on the ground to third.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Charging up with it is.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Borba throws the first in time to.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Get him and the log Hoorns out of trouble. Here
- 3:01Speaker 1: in the seventh, Gasparino wit second the first pitch and
- 3:04Speaker 1: he swings and sends a sinking liner down the right
- 3:07Speaker 1: field line.
- 3:07Speaker 2: It is in the corner.
- 3:08Speaker 1: It's fair, it will score Gasparino, shustler. We'll slide in
- 3:13Speaker 1: the second with an RBI double on the first pitch
- 3:17Speaker 1: he sees from James McCoy and the log Horns do
- 3:20Speaker 1: pick up an important run in outleat five to three,
- 3:23Speaker 1: two balls, two strikes, two outs. Sonier the stretch and
- 3:28Speaker 1: the two to two pitched Ethan hindle. He swings and
- 3:31Speaker 1: pops it up, calling for it right side.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Of the diamond.
- 3:34Speaker 1: His bendoza Ethan settles under, makes the catch and Grayson
- 3:38Speaker 1: Sonier works a one two three bottom of the eighth.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Dylan coon Son deck.
- 3:45Speaker 1: One out the stretch from Grayson Soignier in the pitch
- 3:48Speaker 1: swung on ground ball hit up the middle, could be
- 3:50Speaker 1: two stepping on the back.
- 3:52Speaker 2: For one relay the first pen time double play.
- 3:54Speaker 1: The ball game is over and the Loghorns take the
- 3:57Speaker 1: game and the series. A floor is feeling its steps
- 4:01Speaker 1: on the bag at second, fires to first and the
- 4:04Speaker 1: ballgame is over. On a double play six free to
- 4:08Speaker 1: end it. Texas wins the ballgame five to four, and
- 4:13Speaker 1: with that the Loghorns take the series. And not only
- 4:18Speaker 1: do they take the series, they move up. They were
- 4:22Speaker 1: number two, so there's only the other one other place
- 4:24Speaker 1: that could move to. Yep, they're the new number one
- 4:26Speaker 1: team in the nation. Good afternoon, everybody, Welcome to the
- 4:29Speaker 1: program here on sports Radio AM thirteen hundred of the Zone.
- 4:33Speaker 1: My name is Craig way, glad to have you with us,
- 4:35Speaker 1: as always pleased to be joined by the producer Cameron D.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Parker.
- 4:38Speaker 1: The D on the birth certificate stands for Dallas as
- 4:40Speaker 1: in his favorite pro football team that he does not
- 4:43Speaker 1: keep up with on purpose because he has shunned them
- 4:46Speaker 1: for a while until they prove that they are worthy
- 4:50Speaker 1: of being unshunned. But the D could stand for the
- 4:55Speaker 1: dedication of Rory McElroy to surviving, surviving d for double
- 5:04Speaker 1: bogie two during the final round and coming up with
- 5:10Speaker 1: a historic win at Augusta at National How are you today?
- 5:15Speaker 4: Probably the most important major championship victory since Tiger won
- 5:19Speaker 4: the Masters back in twenty nineteen.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Wow for Roy mclroy. Good afternoon, Craig.
- 5:24Speaker 4: What a fantastic golf tournament, my favorite tournament of the year,
- 5:27Speaker 4: and what a up and down roller coaster ride it
- 5:31Speaker 4: was for Roy mclroy the entire week, but super excited
- 5:34Speaker 4: and happy for him to be able to get it
- 5:36Speaker 4: done in that nineteen hole one whole playoff against Justin Rose,
- 5:41Speaker 4: who ten years ago finished runner up to Jordan Speith
- 5:44Speaker 4: and ten years later finished his runner up to Roy mcclroy.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah when and obviously he was traveling back with the
- 5:53Speaker 1: long run baseball team. You heard the highlight montage there
- 5:56Speaker 1: that Cam so expertly crafted. But when we were at
- 6:01Speaker 1: the airport and loading up the charter plane to head home,
- 6:07Speaker 1: several of us were keeping track of what was going
- 6:11Speaker 1: on in Augusta. And it was right after Rory made
- 6:16Speaker 1: the double bogie at thirteen. I looked at it and
- 6:18Speaker 1: I saw on a car a seven. I said, he
- 6:20Speaker 1: must have found that tributary of Race Creek, which is
- 6:24Speaker 1: exactly what happened there, because the only way you're going
- 6:26Speaker 1: to make seven on that par five is if you
- 6:27Speaker 1: hit it in the water, hit it in that creek
- 6:29Speaker 1: that crosses in front of the green instead of hitting
- 6:32Speaker 1: the shot left to set it up because the righting
- 6:34Speaker 1: bounces in. So that was right then that he was tied.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And then we were closing the doors and taking off,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and so.
- 6:45Speaker 2: No more.
- 6:46Speaker 1: There were no more updates until we landed, and Roger
- 6:49Speaker 1: wallas attexted me and said, who knows what all will
- 6:53Speaker 1: have happened by the time you land And he couldn't
- 6:56Speaker 1: have been more spot on with all of the crazy
- 6:58Speaker 1: things that happened there in the final hour. You might
- 7:03Speaker 1: sell on the back nine. You know that that you're
- 7:05Speaker 1: quite acquainted with that old uh saying the Masters doesn't
- 7:10Speaker 1: start until the back nine on Sunday. Uh. Some could
- 7:13Speaker 1: make that kind of case because it had all of
- 7:16Speaker 1: the theater, all of the drama, all of the ups
- 7:20Speaker 1: and downs, not only for Rory McElroy, uh, but for Scotti,
- 7:23Speaker 1: Scheffler making a late run, for Justin Rose bouncing back
- 7:27Speaker 1: and having an opportunity to win it, for Bryson to
- 7:30Speaker 1: Shambeau just kind of falling off the cliff.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Uh there.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I don't think too many people were expecting that. I
- 7:36Speaker 1: think a lot of people thought Bryson would have been
- 7:38Speaker 1: right there all the way to the end.
- 7:40Speaker 2: But he had his struggles.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Early and then and then even uh Ludvig Goldberg who
- 7:45Speaker 1: was tied at one point before he kind of unraveled
- 7:48Speaker 1: on the final two holes there. But in other words,
- 7:51Speaker 1: that back nine had every bit of kind of drama
- 7:53Speaker 1: no matter who you were interested in or watching or
- 7:55Speaker 1: rooting for, and.
- 7:57Speaker 4: For Rory, you know, the drama began on Thursday. I mean,
- 8:00Speaker 4: going into this week, I thought he was going to
- 8:02Speaker 4: win because he's been playing the best golf of anybody
- 8:06Speaker 4: on the planet. And it comes off of a couple
- 8:09Speaker 4: heartbreaks in major championships over the last few years. He
- 8:12Speaker 4: had a heartbreak at the at the British Open at
- 8:15Speaker 4: St Andrews the Old Course where Cameron Smith shot a
- 8:18Speaker 4: Sunday round sixty two and Rory didn't do anything. Lost
- 8:21Speaker 4: that a great chance to win the US Open at
- 8:24Speaker 4: the LACC, lost that win and Clark won. And then
- 8:27Speaker 4: last year at Pinehurst against Bryceton the Chamba, where Rory
- 8:30Speaker 4: had two three putts and two miss putts inside of
- 8:34Speaker 4: three four feet before the shambo, ultimately got up and
- 8:37Speaker 4: down from the bunker on the eighteenth hole. Though the
- 8:39Speaker 4: won the US Open, and myself, a lot of the
- 8:42Speaker 4: people wondered, like, you know, maybe it's just never going
- 8:44Speaker 4: to happen for Rory. He just mentally cannot get over
- 8:48Speaker 4: the hump of major championship golf. But this season two wins,
- 8:53Speaker 4: including an a credible final round of the Players Championship,
- 8:55Speaker 4: it felt different in Thursday. You know, his Thursday's rounds
- 9:00Speaker 4: have been awful. I think he only had shot under
- 9:02Speaker 4: seventy two times in Master's history on the opening round.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Just a lot of seventy twos and seventy threes and
- 9:09Speaker 4: just seventy four is just my numbing awful opening rounds.
- 9:13Speaker 4: And there he was at four under par through was
- 9:17Speaker 4: he think, fifteen holes on round one, sorry, four under
- 9:22Speaker 4: par through fourteen holes. He gets to fifteen and just
- 9:25Speaker 4: makes an awful double bogie after chipping into the green
- 9:29Speaker 4: on the back of fifteen, makes double on seventeen, and
- 9:32Speaker 4: it's just like there he went from four under the
- 9:34Speaker 4: even parts like there is the Roy McRoy claps, but
- 9:36Speaker 4: he comes back with sixty six on Friday, at sixty
- 9:39Speaker 4: six on Saturday of scorching sixty six in the final group.
- 9:43Speaker 4: And on the opening hole yesterday, Craig he just makes
- 9:47Speaker 4: an awful, awful six on the par four three, puts
- 9:51Speaker 4: the green and after two holes Bryce and the Shambo
- 9:54Speaker 4: somehow finds himself in the lead by one. But Roy
- 9:58Speaker 4: came battling back, and he had his up and down
- 10:00Speaker 4: moments throughout the entire round. He would hit some of
- 10:03Speaker 4: the best golf shots we've ever seen, followed by some
- 10:05Speaker 4: of the worst shots. I mean, his shot on thirteen
- 10:08Speaker 4: with a wedge in hand into Ray's Creek might be
- 10:10Speaker 4: the worst golf shot at the tournament. But He came
- 10:13Speaker 4: back with the just incredible six iron on fifteen, missed
- 10:17Speaker 4: it by the round the trees, a snap pub just
- 10:20Speaker 4: a beautiful golf shot. That probably the reason why he won.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Great shot in sixteen. Then my favorite was seventeen. In
- 10:27Speaker 4: seventeen a fantastic shot, and then eighteen in the wedge
- 10:30Speaker 4: in hand, all he has to do is get up
- 10:32Speaker 4: in down one hundred and twenty five yards out the
- 10:35Speaker 4: wedge in hand, dumped it into the bunker, ends up
- 10:37Speaker 4: two putting and you're in a playoff, and just how
- 10:40Speaker 4: in the world is this in a playoff right now?
- 10:42Speaker 4: But he did not make the same mistake twice, hit
- 10:45Speaker 4: it to three feet on the eighteenth hole. You know,
- 10:48Speaker 4: Justin Rose didn't play the whole bad, but you know
- 10:50Speaker 4: Roy just absolutely hammered his drive.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Had a wedge in hand.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Rose playing probably a little bit of a short iron,
- 10:56Speaker 4: but still, you know, with that pin location, it's tough
- 10:58Speaker 4: to get it to where where he Rose got it
- 11:01Speaker 4: to in the playoff is actually a really good shot.
- 11:02Speaker 4: But the three feet Rose missed the putt, and you
- 11:05Speaker 4: saw Rory's reaction where he said in the in his
- 11:07Speaker 4: post round press conference, it was moy more relieved than
- 11:11Speaker 4: it was joy the way he kind of fell to
- 11:13Speaker 4: his needs, but he deserved it, and it's awesome to
- 11:16Speaker 4: see him finally join the career Grand Slam club.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Yeah. So now it's what six guys who are in
- 11:23Speaker 1: that club? Where does he make?
- 11:24Speaker 2: Seven?
- 11:25Speaker 1: I think he's six? Right, Okay, so there Ben Hogan, Hogan,
- 11:31Speaker 1: Jack Tiger, Gary Player.
- 11:36Speaker 2: So six.
- 11:37Speaker 1: That's why when I answered the text the other day
- 11:39Speaker 1: when they said Jack was playing with uh, you know,
- 11:43Speaker 1: back in the day, playing with guys that weren't that good,
- 11:45Speaker 1: I was, like, you ever hear Gary Player? Gary Player
- 11:48Speaker 1: won a bunch of night. Yeah, he won a bunch
- 11:52Speaker 1: of majors and and one and and one was the
- 11:58Speaker 1: career Grand Slam guy. And he did it at a
- 12:01Speaker 1: relatively early age. I mean he did it at bellryven
- 12:03Speaker 1: Saint Louis at the US Open in nineteen sixty five,
- 12:06Speaker 1: and then after that he still won.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Gosh, how many more masters he won?
- 12:11Speaker 1: The one one of the most memorable masters other than
- 12:15Speaker 1: this one, and of course Jack Nicholas, both in nineteen
- 12:18Speaker 1: seventy five, and then the Immortal won in nineteen eighty six.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Is nineteen sixty one. Arnold Palmer had it was up
- 12:26Speaker 1: two shots on the going to the final hole, and
- 12:34Speaker 1: or is up one shot and final hole looked like
- 12:36Speaker 1: he had it. He was out in the fairway kind
- 12:38Speaker 1: of like Rory was. He wound up hooking it into
- 12:41Speaker 1: the bunker, left blasted over the green and then and
- 12:47Speaker 1: then got on the green and then two putted for
- 12:49Speaker 1: a six. And Gary Player won that Masters. But he
- 12:52Speaker 1: also wanted in nineteen seventy four, and he also wanted
- 12:56Speaker 1: at age forty two, I believe in nineteen seventy eight
- 12:59Speaker 1: when he shot like sixty four in the final round.
- 13:02Speaker 1: So he was one of the greatest golfers, but he
- 13:04Speaker 1: was before Tiger. He was the last one to achieve
- 13:08Speaker 1: the career Slam until Rory McElroy did it yesterday. Like
- 13:12Speaker 1: you said, very deserving. Some other things that come to
- 13:16Speaker 1: mind about that final round there.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I mentioned bryceon to Shamba.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I don't think you know with all the determination he
- 13:22Speaker 1: had in that thrilling finish he had on Saturday to
- 13:25Speaker 1: his round. We had just got back to the hotel
- 13:27Speaker 1: after the Saturday fifteen inning long worn baseball game, and
- 13:31Speaker 1: got back to the hotel and I turned it on
- 13:34Speaker 1: to see like the last two or three holes and
- 13:36Speaker 1: saw the shambo knock in what was that a forty
- 13:39Speaker 1: eight footer they said, yeah, in eighteen Yeah, And I thought, Okay,
- 13:42Speaker 1: this guy's going to be tough to deal with tomorrow
- 13:45Speaker 1: for Rory or anybody else. And it just kind of
- 13:49Speaker 1: just kind of went just went away from him all
- 13:51Speaker 1: of a sudden, Like you said, he had the lead
- 13:53Speaker 1: after what three holes?
- 13:54Speaker 2: After two holes? Yeah, two holes.
- 13:56Speaker 4: His issue was his iron play let him down. I
- 13:58Speaker 4: think going in the Sunday he'd only hit like fifty
- 14:01Speaker 4: nine percent of his greens and regulation and no Masters
- 14:05Speaker 4: winner had won it shooting below sixty percent since like
- 14:09Speaker 4: Mike Weir in two thousand and four and yesterday, he
- 14:12Speaker 4: just did not have it with his ball striking. He played,
- 14:14Speaker 4: he played awful, He played like Rory played in final rounds,
- 14:18Speaker 4: and the Masters yesterday just fell apart at the end,
- 14:22Speaker 4: kind of like Oberg as well.
- 14:24Speaker 1: And then a tip of the cap does Scottie Scheffler
- 14:26Speaker 1: just kind of quietly behind the scenes, wound up finishing fourth,
- 14:29Speaker 1: and he had for him what everybody figured was an
- 14:31Speaker 1: off weekend, and he still winds.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Up in the top five C plus game and he
- 14:35Speaker 4: finished eight under with three shots back of Rory.
- 14:38Speaker 2: So look out for Scotty this year.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and we'll see how Rory does. Where's the Open
- 14:43Speaker 1: this year?
- 14:44Speaker 4: The US follow the US opened to Oakmont? Okay, Pj's
- 14:47Speaker 4: up next to Coui Hollo, which is where he's won
- 14:49Speaker 4: a million times, to the West Flare and the favorite
- 14:52Speaker 4: there Oakmont and then Port Rush.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Royal Port Rush Choices. That's in Is that
- 14:58Speaker 1: Northern Ireland where Rory? Yeah, so it's the stars are aligning.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll keep it.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Do you think that someone will ever win the Grand
- 15:07Speaker 1: Slam in one year.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Four in a row. No, it's the way the technology
- 15:11Speaker 2: is advanced. It is too difficult. Yeah.
- 15:12Speaker 4: What Jordan's speed that in twenty fifteen is. I don't
- 15:16Speaker 4: think we'll ever see that.
- 15:16Speaker 1: And the Tiger Slam even Yeah, yeah, I think that's
- 15:20Speaker 1: probably the best that's gonna come to it. And Jack
- 15:22Speaker 1: one year one three. I think Hogan won three, but yeah,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I agree with you. I don't think it'll ever happen.
- 15:27Speaker 2: All right. Coming up on the program, got a lot
- 15:29Speaker 2: of things.
- 15:29Speaker 1: We will recap the Long War and Baseball weekend update,
- 15:31Speaker 1: sh on the new College poll. We'll hear from Jim Schlasnigl,
- 15:34Speaker 1: we'll hear from Will Gasparino kind of broke out with
- 15:38Speaker 1: a big day yesterday.
- 15:39Speaker 2: We'll do that.
- 15:40Speaker 1: We'll get a lot of other things to get to,
- 15:41Speaker 1: so we'll do that. The NBA regular season is in
- 15:45Speaker 1: the books as well as the NHL, so we'll talk
- 15:47Speaker 1: about what's to come with the playoffs, all that and
- 15:50Speaker 1: more here on a Monday afternoon here on thirteen out
- 15:53Speaker 1: of the.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Zone, it's the Craig Way Show with the Voice of
- 15:59Speaker 4: the Texas Longhorns in Hall of Fame Broadcasting.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Craig Way, I knew it left something out right before
- 16:11Speaker 1: the break, tell you what we had coming up on
- 16:13Speaker 1: the program. I said, we're gonna hear from Jim Slasniger,
- 16:15Speaker 1: We're gonna hear from Will Gasprino, and we will coming
- 16:18Speaker 1: up here in just a few moments.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Of course, we have inconceivable this hour as well.
- 16:21Speaker 1: What I left out was to tell you if fresh
- 16:24Speaker 1: sound from Sark long Orne hid football priach Steve Sarkisian
- 16:27Speaker 1: following this morning's workout. We'll hear from sark in both
- 16:31Speaker 1: the three o'clock hour and the four o'clock.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Hour of the program.
- 16:34Speaker 1: This afternoon, Let's turn to baseball, and the Long Horn
- 16:37Speaker 1: baseball team toughed its way through a weekend series against Kentucky.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Won the opener six to three on a just a
- 16:44Speaker 1: brutally cold Friday night here it was it was on Friday,
- 16:50Speaker 1: was at high seventies, low eighties, I guess on Friday
- 16:52Speaker 1: or mid eighties on Friday here in Austin something like that.
- 16:55Speaker 2: It was really hot here. It was forty three.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I think it was forty six at first pitch time,
- 17:04Speaker 1: and dropped a forty three with a fifteen miles per
- 17:06Speaker 1: hour wind blowing, so the wind chill was in the
- 17:08Speaker 1: was in the low to mid thirties, and it was
- 17:12Speaker 1: just very cold even sitting in the broadcast. But because
- 17:15Speaker 1: the wind was blowing out of the north, it was
- 17:16Speaker 1: kind of blowing right at Keith Morland and me, and
- 17:20Speaker 1: it was cold. And Long Orange found away got some
- 17:23Speaker 1: clutch hits. Elan Valantis came up with the save off
- 17:27Speaker 1: of Jared Spencer, and also Max Grubbs did a really
- 17:32Speaker 1: fine job in the Friday game pitching and he he
- 17:35Speaker 1: wound up getting the win and Valantis to save in
- 17:37Speaker 1: Long Orange win sixty three. Saturday game was a little
- 17:40Speaker 1: warmer daytime game, and that was a good thing because
- 17:43Speaker 1: it was a marathon five hours and twelve minutes.
- 17:47Speaker 2: It went fifteen innings and.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Kentucky ended up winning it bizarre sequence, and they had
- 17:55Speaker 1: Texas had a four to three league one to the
- 17:56Speaker 1: bottom of the night. Valantis, who had not allowed an
- 17:59Speaker 1: earn run, not allowed to run of any kind since
- 18:04Speaker 1: in sec play since going to the bullpen, gave up
- 18:08Speaker 1: a leadoff homer in the bottom of the night that
- 18:10Speaker 1: tied the score, and then the extra inning parade started longwards.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Had a chance strained a runner at third base, I believe,
- 18:16Speaker 1: in the fourteenth, and so it gets to the bottom
- 18:20Speaker 1: of the fifteenth and the first two guys get on
- 18:25Speaker 1: with a hit and a hit batter, and then at
- 18:29Speaker 1: the plate there's a bunt laid down and Ryland Galvan
- 18:34Speaker 1: struggled to pick it up at first out front of
- 18:36Speaker 1: the plate and then kind of hurried the throat and
- 18:38Speaker 1: it was close to the runner being in the line
- 18:41Speaker 1: of the throw, but the ball glanced off Kimball Schusler's glove.
- 18:44Speaker 1: It goes down the line in the right field, and
- 18:47Speaker 1: the winning run scores, and so Kentucky wins the game
- 18:49Speaker 1: at fifteen innings five to four. We would tell them
- 18:53Speaker 1: the story on the air because it was the Longhorns
- 18:59Speaker 1: longest longest game that they had played by innings in
- 19:05Speaker 1: ten years. The last time they had played the game
- 19:09Speaker 1: at least fifteen innings happened ten years ago, almost to
- 19:12Speaker 1: the day. It was like able to third of twenty fifteen,
- 19:16Speaker 1: and it was in still Water and it was against
- 19:19Speaker 1: Oklahoma State. And you may have heard, if you were
- 19:21Speaker 1: listening over the weekend, you heard me tell this story,
- 19:23Speaker 1: but I think I've told it on this program in
- 19:25Speaker 1: the past. That was the day when Shaka Smart was
- 19:29Speaker 1: introduced as to who had basketball coach at Texas, and
- 19:32Speaker 1: I needed to be back here to anchor our coverage
- 19:35Speaker 1: of the news conference, which it did, and it was
- 19:38Speaker 1: going to be on a Friday.
- 19:39Speaker 2: However, we set this up.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Where our good friend and colleague David Garrett, who's in
- 19:44Speaker 1: Oklahoma City, would call the game or until I got there, whatever,
- 19:51Speaker 1: because I had a commercial flight it was going to
- 19:53Speaker 1: go in afterwards. So press conference comes and then Shaka
- 19:58Speaker 1: comes over and we do the interview. As soon as
- 20:00Speaker 1: it was over, I raced to the airport and I
- 20:02Speaker 1: catch a flight change at DFW. I land in Oklahoma
- 20:07Speaker 1: City around nine fifteen, nine thirty. By the time I
- 20:11Speaker 1: get in the rent car to drive to Stillwater, the
- 20:15Speaker 1: game is tied. I think it's three to three in
- 20:18Speaker 1: the bottom of the ninth inning. So I start driving
- 20:21Speaker 1: north to Stillwater, which is about an hour and fifteen
- 20:23Speaker 1: minute drive from the airport in Oklahoma City. And as
- 20:26Speaker 1: I'm driving up there and I'm listening through we edit.
- 20:30Speaker 1: This was in the days before there were apps on
- 20:33Speaker 1: phones that would allow you to listen to games. I
- 20:35Speaker 1: had a dial in number where I could listen to
- 20:38Speaker 1: what was going on. And I'm listening to Dave call
- 20:40Speaker 1: this game, and he's called it all by himself. So
- 20:42Speaker 1: it was the ninth, the tenth, eleventh, twelfth, the thirteenth.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I pull in to the parking lot at Alip Reynolds
- 20:50Speaker 1: Stadium in Stillwater as the game is going to the
- 20:54Speaker 1: bottom of the thirteenth inning. To get out of the car,
- 20:56Speaker 1: I go up to the boot. Dave is finishing off
- 20:58Speaker 1: calling the bottom of the thirteenth. He's called thirteen innings
- 21:01Speaker 1: of baseball. He pitches the break, turns to me and goes,
- 21:04Speaker 1: it's all yours, big boy.
- 21:06Speaker 2: So then.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I had kept up with it, so I picked it
- 21:15Speaker 1: up and then I called five innings of baseball affort.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Oklahoma State won the game in eighteen innings and won
- 21:19Speaker 1: that one. There were their other games. Keith Moore than
- 21:21Speaker 1: I did a game in Manhattan, Kansas when it was
- 21:23Speaker 1: thirty eight degrees a chilly night in April back in
- 21:25Speaker 1: two thousand and three.
- 21:26Speaker 2: That went twenty innings.
- 21:29Speaker 1: It was five to five, and then the Longhorns scored
- 21:31Speaker 1: five in the top of the twentieth and Kansas State
- 21:33Speaker 1: scored won in the bottom of the twentieth and had the.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Bases loaded when the game ended.
- 21:39Speaker 1: And then, of course, obviously the twenty five inning regional
- 21:41Speaker 1: game which was so memorable in two thousand and nine
- 21:43Speaker 1: against Boston College. That was just amazing, that three to
- 21:47Speaker 1: two Texas game that night, seven hours and six minutes
- 21:49Speaker 1: in that one. So there was all of that, and
- 21:53Speaker 1: yet the Longhorns dropped the game on Saturday, came back
- 21:58Speaker 1: Sunday and and and just kind of toughed their way
- 22:02Speaker 1: through it. They got up three to nothing, and it
- 22:06Speaker 1: got cut to three to one, then it was four
- 22:08Speaker 1: to one. Then Kentucky scored two in the seven to
- 22:10Speaker 1: make it four to three. Loghorn's got the RBI double
- 22:14Speaker 1: from Schustler in the eight to make it five to three,
- 22:16Speaker 1: and then Kentucky it's the first two guys on in
- 22:19Speaker 1: the bottom of the ninth inning, and then afterwards there
- 22:24Speaker 1: were runners on the corners. There was a sack fly
- 22:27Speaker 1: to make it five to four, and then you heard
- 22:28Speaker 1: the double play call to end it. So Texas with
- 22:30Speaker 1: the win five to four, tough their way through it.
- 22:33Speaker 1: They're not healthy, as we know. Max Blue is out
- 22:36Speaker 1: of the lineup. Adrian Rodriguez still has that recovering from
- 22:42Speaker 1: that a deemon that he had right near the handmake bone,
- 22:44Speaker 1: so it limited him. He did come back, but he
- 22:46Speaker 1: wasn't able to play, did not play yesterday.
- 22:48Speaker 4: And.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Really right now is not in a position to be
- 22:53Speaker 1: able to swing the bat right handed. He's a switch hitter,
- 22:55Speaker 1: but really can't bat against left handed pitching right now.
- 22:59Speaker 2: They hope that that'll be he will have healed well enough, if.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Not by tomorrow night against ut Rio Graham Valley, certainly
- 23:07Speaker 1: by Thursday when Auburn comes to town for the Thursday
- 23:11Speaker 1: Friday Saturday series. So they had those guys get banged up. Also,
- 23:16Speaker 1: they had a tough time keeping guys healthy on the
- 23:23Speaker 1: field who were out there playing in the field, and
- 23:27Speaker 1: the other guys got banged up as well. So Ethan
- 23:33Speaker 1: Mendoza was one who fielding the ball, dived and kind
- 23:36Speaker 1: of banged up a shoulder or something. But he finished
- 23:38Speaker 1: out the game. And will Gasparino had a big game.
- 23:41Speaker 1: He went two for four, or excuse me, he went
- 23:44Speaker 1: three for four and drove in two runs and scored
- 23:48Speaker 1: two runs as well. First, let's hear from long Oorne
- 23:50Speaker 1: head coach Jim Slasnagel visiting on the field will keep
- 23:53Speaker 1: Moreland right after the game.
- 23:55Speaker 3: There is none of these series in this league that
- 23:58Speaker 3: are not down to the wire, down to the pitch,
- 24:01Speaker 3: down to the moment, And you had guys step up
- 24:04Speaker 3: today that hadn't been in that moment.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Yeah we did, and we feel like, I don't know,
- 24:08Speaker 5: I think you and I have maybe the only ones
- 24:09Speaker 5: that remember that Joe match, but feel feel like a
- 24:12Speaker 5: mash unit guys getting hurt and can't do this or
- 24:16Speaker 5: can't do that. But uh, really proud of obviously Ruger
- 24:19Speaker 5: was outstanding, and super proud of Sonya guy's been buried
- 24:23Speaker 5: for a while. Made some changes, been working really hard,
- 24:26Speaker 5: has been a great teammate, has never pounded and made
- 24:29Speaker 5: some really good pitches today.
- 24:30Speaker 3: And then then the other part of that is getting
- 24:32Speaker 3: those hits at opportune times. I mean, obviously not pounding
- 24:36Speaker 3: the ball this weekend, but right time, big hits will.
- 24:39Speaker 3: They had struggled some in the weekend, comes up with
- 24:41Speaker 3: two gigantic knocks today.
- 24:42Speaker 2: He did, ye had too.
- 24:43Speaker 5: And then I mean Flores and him, the back, back
- 24:45Speaker 5: to back two out hits got us the first three runs.
- 24:47Speaker 5: And you know, considering where we are with our injuries,
- 24:51Speaker 5: you know those any way we're really going to score
- 24:54Speaker 5: is if everybody else gets on base and the very
- 24:56Speaker 5: best players drive them in. I mean that's really our
- 24:59Speaker 5: lineup isn't that deep at the moment. So we need
- 25:01Speaker 5: those guys who were at the bottom to get on
- 25:02Speaker 5: base and then the guys like Mendo's and Flores to
- 25:05Speaker 5: drive him in.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you're looking at Ethan. He's like a
- 25:09Speaker 2: mash unit today. Man, I feel I hope he's okay.
- 25:11Speaker 5: But I just moved him a little bit to the
- 25:14Speaker 5: pool side because Bell hits so many balls in the
- 25:17Speaker 5: four hole and we're throwing them off speed pitches. I
- 25:19Speaker 5: had just moved them two steps. If I don't move him,
- 25:22Speaker 5: it's four to sixty three that will play. But that's
- 25:24Speaker 5: how that's how crazy this game is.
- 25:26Speaker 3: The Last thing I have for you is we were
- 25:28Speaker 3: at the halfway points.
- 25:29Speaker 2: You get to go back home. Now you have two
- 25:31Speaker 2: consecutive series at home. It's gonna be nice to get
- 25:33Speaker 2: back in the yard.
- 25:34Speaker 5: It's gonna be good to be back in Dishfalk and
- 25:36Speaker 5: some good weather and hopefully we can get some guys
- 25:39Speaker 5: healthy and but certainly need all the fans.
- 25:41Speaker 2: To come out. Thanks for taking the time for congratulations.
- 25:44Speaker 1: All right, there is Jim's Lasnager would keep moreland after
- 25:47Speaker 1: the game. And yeah, Texas is in sole possession at
- 25:50Speaker 1: the halfway mark of the SEC conference season. They're thirteen
- 25:55Speaker 1: and two in conference player Arkansas dropped two out of
- 25:57Speaker 1: three of the weekend at Georgia, and it also dropped
- 26:00Speaker 1: the Razorbacks from number one in the D one Baseball
- 26:03Speaker 1: of rankings to number two. And Texas is number one
- 26:06Speaker 1: in the nation in the poll right now. We'll run
- 26:09Speaker 1: down more of the poll later on because it is
- 26:12Speaker 1: as you might imagine, SEC heavy up. Next, we bring inconceivable.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Here in the Monday afternoon, I'm thirteen under the zone.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Glad to have you with us on this Monday post
- 26:21Speaker 1: masters pre NBA playoffs, in the midst of long worn
- 26:26Speaker 1: baseball season. They hit the exact halfway mark of SEC
- 26:31Speaker 1: play How about this a team that was picked depending
- 26:33Speaker 1: on which poll and preseason prognostication and consulted, Texas was
- 26:38Speaker 1: either seventh or eighth in the preseason picks, and here
- 26:43Speaker 1: they are number one, not only in the conference, but
- 26:46Speaker 1: in the latest polls number one in the nation. More
- 26:48Speaker 1: on that. At a moment, I we did inconceivable, and
- 26:51Speaker 1: when we did it, I always have a fast food
- 26:54Speaker 1: update in there. I neglected to mention the photo tweeted
- 26:59Speaker 1: to us friends CB. The twitters have arned who sent
- 27:03Speaker 1: us the photo of the brand new delicacy at Toronto
- 27:08Speaker 1: Blue Jays home games, Cotton candy French Fries.
- 27:13Speaker 2: No, GAM's not having it. Not up on the cotton candy.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Fries no, because that kind of gets into my deal
- 27:22Speaker 1: about mixing the too diametrically a post taste. I don't
- 27:27Speaker 1: I don't really don't want candy mixed with my salty
- 27:30Speaker 1: snack stuff anymore than I want fruit with my meat.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I don't. You know. I can deal with.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Slice of pineapple on top of a glazed hand that's okay.
- 27:42Speaker 1: But I'm not big into things like mango chutney, glazed
- 27:50Speaker 1: stuff like that. It's just it's not for me to
- 27:53Speaker 1: put on top of you know, some meat dish you
- 27:55Speaker 1: have that's just not my Yeah, just just trying a
- 27:59Speaker 1: little too hard, trying to get something else there.
- 28:02Speaker 2: You know.
- 28:02Speaker 4: I have a friend who's going to be up in
- 28:04Speaker 4: Arlington actually for a work conference, and there're things. I
- 28:07Speaker 4: was going to a ranger scheme and I was like,
- 28:09Speaker 4: if you go, you got to get the boomstick.
- 28:12Speaker 2: And he's like, what is it?
- 28:13Speaker 4: Don't don't ask, just go look for the boomstick in
- 28:16Speaker 4: order to split it with some of your co workers.
- 28:18Speaker 1: All right, so you can get the one that's got
- 28:20Speaker 1: the cheeseburger in it too, you know, you have that one,
- 28:22Speaker 1: you have that that.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Really ridiculous one. I'm hoping he does that. I don't.
- 28:26Speaker 4: I don't know if he will, but I'm hoping he does.
- 28:28Speaker 4: And then I can report back on whatever well with
- 28:31Speaker 4: a picture of it, so we'll see.
- 28:34Speaker 1: You know what a Dodger fan I am a big Dodger.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Dodgers are in Arlington this weekend. Yeah, you going up, Well,
- 28:40Speaker 1: we've got long worn baseball. Of course, Friday and Saturday
- 28:43Speaker 1: Sunday would be open, but Sunday is Easter Sunday, and
- 28:50Speaker 1: I have a pledge not only to my wife, but
- 28:52Speaker 1: to my grandkids and to her grandson and her daughter
- 28:55Speaker 1: and all that. So we're double teeming metroplex stuff like
- 28:58Speaker 1: we do with Easter Easter breakfast slash brunch with my
- 29:02Speaker 1: side of the family, my kids, my grandkids, and then
- 29:06Speaker 1: at Easter Sunday dinner over and playing on with her.
- 29:09Speaker 1: So I'm passing on Dodgers Rangers try to catch up
- 29:13Speaker 1: to them later in the NBA playoffs get underway. Okay,
- 29:16Speaker 1: Your team, the Oklahoma City Thunder finished sixty eight and fourteen,
- 29:21Speaker 1: best record in all the NBA. They'll have home field
- 29:24Speaker 1: advantage throughout a home court advantage throughout the playoffs. So
- 29:29Speaker 1: if I asked you, are you taking the Thunder or
- 29:31Speaker 1: the field? Who would you take to win or make
- 29:34Speaker 1: the fine? Yeah, to win it, to win it, I'm
- 29:35Speaker 1: taking the field, Okay, But you do feel good about
- 29:39Speaker 1: the Thunder reaching the NBA finals as the one seed.
- 29:42Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 29:43Speaker 1: All right, who bothers you? Lakers bother me? Okay, number
- 29:48Speaker 1: three seeds?
- 29:49Speaker 2: What they have with.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Luca and Lebron and Austin Reeves, I think their offense
- 29:53Speaker 4: is really good in matchup Bull against the Thunder in
- 29:56Speaker 4: my opinion, even I mean, the West is so tough. Honestly,
- 30:01Speaker 4: I think it will be between OKAC and LA in
- 30:04Speaker 4: the Western Conference finals. But you know, looking at that
- 30:07Speaker 4: second round matchup between Denver and the Clippers, we'll see Denver,
- 30:12Speaker 4: you know, they fired Mike Malone, going to three game
- 30:15Speaker 4: win streak, Clippers coming in on an eight game win streak.
- 30:18Speaker 4: But of course, you know Los Angeles health wise, and
- 30:20Speaker 4: I don't know if Denver has the shooting to make it.
- 30:23Speaker 4: But I think it'll be Boston. Okay, see, but honestly,
- 30:29Speaker 4: I could I can't believe I'm saying that I could
- 30:30Speaker 4: see it being Boston La Craig.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Okay, So you don't have faith in the Cavaliers then
- 30:35Speaker 1: to reach the final.
- 30:36Speaker 2: No, I think Boston is the best team in the league.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Ring Okay, all right. One thing I like on NBA
- 30:40Speaker 1: dot Com. They have a like a flow chart with
- 30:43Speaker 1: kind of a bracket. They have arrows all over. It
- 30:46Speaker 1: looks like a big algebraic equation. So I really really
- 30:49Speaker 1: going on, Yeah, that's cool. Of course the team I
- 30:53Speaker 1: root for if reluctantly right now since the trade the Mavericks.
- 30:57Speaker 1: They're the tendenc They just creaked in. Yeah they got in,
- 31:00Speaker 1: slipped in. Yeah, they're in the play in. They go
- 31:04Speaker 1: to Sacramento and play on Wednesday night. If they win
- 31:09Speaker 1: and stay alive, lose, then they're done. If they win,
- 31:12Speaker 1: then they play the loser. This is one thing I
- 31:15Speaker 1: like about the play and is kind of is kind
- 31:16Speaker 1: of weird with how they do it. But they play
- 31:18Speaker 1: the loser of the seven v. Eight matchup, which is
- 31:22Speaker 1: tomorrow night the Warriors and Grizzlies, which is in Oakland.
- 31:27Speaker 1: So if here's the weird thing. If the Warriors win
- 31:32Speaker 1: that game, they automatically go in as the seventh seed
- 31:35Speaker 1: and would play Houston. Right, they automatically go in at
- 31:39Speaker 1: the seventh seed. Okay, if they lose, and that would mean,
- 31:43Speaker 1: by the way, the Mavericks would then have to travel
- 31:45Speaker 1: to Memphis and play the Grizzlies if the Warriors were
- 31:49Speaker 1: to lose. If they were to lose, the Grizzlies would
- 31:53Speaker 1: be the seven. They play the Rockets, and then the
- 31:55Speaker 1: Mavericks would only need to take a bus ride from
- 31:57Speaker 1: Sacramento to Oakland. It's about an hour to go and
- 32:02Speaker 1: play Golden State. After that, who knows. And then in
- 32:07Speaker 1: the East the play in is the Bulls in the heat,
- 32:09Speaker 1: the nine and the ten.
- 32:11Speaker 2: The winner.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Gets to play the loser of the seven versus eight
- 32:16Speaker 1: matchup the Magic and the Hawks. I heard a lot
- 32:18Speaker 1: of people saying the Hawks are a dangerous eight seed.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Do you see that? I could see it. I could
- 32:24Speaker 2: see them beating Orlando because the Magic's offense has just
- 32:27Speaker 2: just been abysmal.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Towards but not taking out Boston. Yeah, no, I think
- 32:32Speaker 4: Boston's gonna have a really good path. I mean, honestly,
- 32:35Speaker 4: if I'm a Knicks fan, I'm very concerned about playing
- 32:37Speaker 4: Detroit in the first round. I mean, the Troit's just that,
- 32:40Speaker 4: you know, that young team, no nonsense, well, actually a
- 32:43Speaker 4: lot a lot of nonsense, especially Isaiah Stewart and Ron Allen,
- 32:46Speaker 4: who are a dangerous one to two punch and I
- 32:48Speaker 4: mean literally they might punch you on the basketball court.
- 32:51Speaker 2: I'm you know, Milwaukee has the five seed. If they can.
- 32:54Speaker 4: You know, I know, offensively they aren't great, and you know,
- 32:58Speaker 4: with Dame and his clot but still Giannis in the
- 33:01Speaker 4: seven game series, that's tough. But I just think Boston's
- 33:04Speaker 4: playing great basketball, Craig. They've been in the finals, it
- 33:08Speaker 4: feels like a million times the last decade. They are
- 33:10Speaker 4: the defending champs since.
- 33:13Speaker 2: The All Star Break.
- 33:14Speaker 4: You know, there's a lot of mentors out there that
- 33:16Speaker 4: have them as you know, the best offense and defense
- 33:19Speaker 4: and the league. And I think they're locked in and
- 33:21Speaker 4: I don't think they're too afraid of whether it's gonna
- 33:23Speaker 4: be Orlando or Atlanta. And so I think Boston's gonna
- 33:26Speaker 4: gonna have a real, real easy path.
- 33:28Speaker 1: And once they get to the conference final, the Knicks
- 33:30Speaker 1: of the three seed, do you see them beating Detroit?
- 33:32Speaker 1: I would take Detroit right now, Okay, all right, and
- 33:35Speaker 1: you like the Bucks the five seed over the four seed.
- 33:37Speaker 4: Indiana, Give me Indiana. I know, I've just kind of
- 33:40Speaker 4: gassed at Milwaukee. I just think with Lillard not playing,
- 33:45Speaker 4: give me Indiana.
- 33:46Speaker 1: And in the West Nuggets are Clippers. That's gonna be
- 33:50Speaker 1: a really, really good series.
- 33:52Speaker 4: I think Denver in seven, just because you're banking on
- 33:56Speaker 4: Kawhi Leonard staying healthy. Now, if you guarantee, like, hey,
- 33:59Speaker 4: he's gonna be all to play all seven games, then
- 34:01Speaker 4: give me the Clippers.
- 34:02Speaker 2: But because I don't know.
- 34:02Speaker 1: That, I'll take Demns all right, And you like the
- 34:04Speaker 1: Lakers to beat the Timberwolves.
- 34:05Speaker 2: They have such a good path.
- 34:07Speaker 4: They get the Timberwolves, who I know ant's been playing good,
- 34:11Speaker 4: but with Julius Randall, I'm not afraid of them, and
- 34:13Speaker 4: then they're gonna play either a really young Rockets team
- 34:16Speaker 4: in the second round possibly or a Warriors team that
- 34:19Speaker 4: they match up pretty well against, or Memphis, but I
- 34:22Speaker 4: don't think Memphis will find a way to make the
- 34:24Speaker 4: second round of the playoffs. So Lakers have such a
- 34:25Speaker 4: good path. And then they get the conference finals against whoever.
- 34:28Speaker 4: You know, they're gonna have all the confidence in the world.
- 34:31Speaker 1: So if I'm hearing what you're saying, it sounds like
- 34:34Speaker 1: you're saying the NBA Finals are going to be Celtics Lakers.
- 34:37Speaker 4: I think so, Craig, But of course you know, I'm
- 34:39Speaker 4: an Okac fan, so I have a lot of PTSD.
- 34:42Speaker 4: So the numbers are saying, okay, see, but you know,
- 34:45Speaker 4: when the thunder Lakers just played each other a couple
- 34:47Speaker 4: of weeks ago and awful, awful in Los Angeles, and
- 34:51Speaker 4: then they did beat them the second time. But you know,
- 34:53Speaker 4: Luca was ejected with the Lakers up by one, so
- 34:56Speaker 4: you know, he can play revision his history there. You know,
- 34:59Speaker 4: maybe Lakers win be okay, see wins, but I'm kind
- 35:02Speaker 4: of leaning towards the Lakers now. Of course, you know,
- 35:05Speaker 4: Lebron at forty years old, who knows, you know, with
- 35:07Speaker 4: seven game series, maybe his body does not hold up,
- 35:10Speaker 4: and the Lakers depth finally, you know, rears his ugly head.
- 35:13Speaker 4: But you know, I'm kind of liking the Lakers, man.
- 35:17Speaker 4: I mean, Luca and Reeves are so spicy offensively, and
- 35:20Speaker 4: then you just have Lebron James, you know, possibly the
- 35:23Speaker 4: second greatest basketball player of all time, just chilling at
- 35:26Speaker 4: forty years old, right there.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Okay, all right, so we'll see how all of that
- 35:32Speaker 1: turns out. Probably I'll also solicit some NBA opinion from
- 35:38Speaker 1: our good friend Bill Shooning, who just completed his twenty
- 35:41Speaker 1: four year run as to play by play voice of
- 35:42Speaker 1: the San Antonio Spurs. His final game was yesterday, a
- 35:45Speaker 1: home win for them, so congratulations to Bill.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Was a great, great run.
- 35:50Speaker 1: And we'll have Bill join us on the show to
- 35:52Speaker 1: talk some playoffs and talk some other stuff because he's
- 35:55Speaker 1: got the rest of his life to figure out.
- 35:57Speaker 2: I don't even know.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Well, Jerry has most of that store. She she has
- 36:01Speaker 1: a lot of that stuff figured out for him. So
- 36:03Speaker 1: that's a good thing, all right. Up next, we're gonna
- 36:05Speaker 1: hear from long worn shied football card Steve Sarkesian when
- 36:07Speaker 1: we continue on thirteen under the Zone
