- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today I would like to talk to you about your path, that
- 0:35internal path that we all have. Some of us believe we don't have
- 0:39an internal path. We think we're just out there
- 0:41essentially roaming around bumping and bumbling, but that's
- 0:45not exactly true. We have an internal path that we
- 0:49actually follow. That's part of us and we
- 0:53definitely have it. Some of us guilt, confused by
- 0:56the fact that we have it. Some of us don't know
- 0:58necessarily where it is. We'll go off the path, so to
- 1:02speak. And we think, oh gosh, I'm never
- 1:05going to get back on my path. But I personally don't believe
- 1:09that's true. All the spiritual work I've
- 1:11done, all the studying and you know, different teachers that
- 1:15I've learned from. I personally believe that our
- 1:18path is within us. When we arrive here, we have a
- 1:23mission, if you will. We have an end game, a goal of
- 1:26what we're going to be doing or an idea of it, and our job is to
- 1:33redefine that message in ourselves as we go along and see
- 1:37it, remember it, if you will. And we do that through our
- 1:41emotions, which guide us along the way.
- 1:43When things don't feel right, we get messages.
- 1:46We are excellent at ignoring said messages, but we still get
- 1:49the messages. And those messages help us move
- 1:52through things and help us move closer to the end game that we
- 1:57want to have. But we have to listen and we
- 1:59have to be attuned to it and attuned to ourselves.
- 2:02But I personally believe, and some of you may not agree with
- 2:05this and that's OK because this podcast is all about
- 2:08possibilities and giving you different ideas.
- 2:11But I, I do, I personally believe that we all have this
- 2:15defined piece of ourselves that we are supposed to connect to,
- 2:20resonate with and bring forward. And when we get off the path,
- 2:25and if we veer off of our path, things start to go awry.
- 2:28And the more we stick to the path, the more things seem to
- 2:31stay in flow. And we get the messages from our
- 2:34emotions, we get the messages from the the results that are
- 2:39surrounding us in our life. And things just get
- 2:42exponentially better the more we pay attention to it.
- 2:45So the question you really have to ask yourself is how far do
- 2:49you have to go off the path before you realize you're off
- 2:53the path? And are you listening to those
- 2:55little whispers that show up when you go off the path so that
- 2:58you can course correct quickly and actually get back on the
- 3:02path? And really asking yourself, you
- 3:05know, what are the, what's the truth about the path that I
- 3:08want? Because what's interesting is a
- 3:10lot of times some of us will be very, very clear and we know it
- 3:15from when we're a child. And then someone else says
- 3:19something and boom, we, we are moved.
- 3:22So I'm going to give you an example.
- 3:24Heard me speak of my dad before when I taught on the podcast.
- 3:27And my dad was clearly my best friend in life.
- 3:30And I lost him when I was 25 and he was 57.
- 3:35And when I was young, probably 9 or 10 years old, I said to my
- 3:40dad, I want to be a school teacher.
- 3:43And my dad said, oh, you can't be a school teacher.
- 3:46There's no money in that. And I was like, oh, but I really
- 3:49want to be a school teacher. And he's like, no, you don't
- 3:52want to do that. I'm telling you, there's no
- 3:54money in that. You have to find something that
- 3:56you can take care of yourself. And he really was on a mission
- 4:00to empower me as a young woman to take care of myself and not
- 4:04need anybody to take care of me. And I appreciated that from him.
- 4:08And he definitely instilled those things in me.
- 4:11But I really wanted to be a teacher.
- 4:13And so I pulled myself back and I said, OK, well, I'm not going
- 4:16to be a teacher. So, you know, time goes on and
- 4:19I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do.
- 4:21Fast forward a couple years and I say, well, maybe I'm going to
- 4:24be a writer. And he says, oh, no, no, no, you
- 4:27don't want to be a writer. There's no money in that.
- 4:29OK, So I'm like thinking to myself, well, what else?
- 4:32And I'm super creative because my grandmother instilled that in
- 4:35me. I mean, I've always been
- 4:36creative. My grandmother really nurtured
- 4:38that piece. So here I am.
- 4:41OK, well, I'm going to go into being an artist in graphics.
- 4:44And this is at the time when, you know, computer graphics are
- 4:48starting to come out. So I'm like, OK, I'm this is
- 4:50what I'm going to do. I'm so excited about it.
- 4:52I go to my dad and I tell him this is what I want to do and I
- 4:54want to have an ad agency. And he says that's excellent.
- 4:57That's exactly, you know, that's great.
- 4:59You can make great money in that.
- 5:01So I was like, OK, so I'm doing it.
- 5:04And it did. It worked out right.
- 5:06I had I built my business and I had a great time until I felt
- 5:10like I had golden handcuffs and I was making money.
- 5:13But I was miserable every day. And being doing artwork for
- 5:18other people and people constantly correcting my artwork
- 5:23didn't feel good. And I was too close to the art.
- 5:27Like, you know, I would do something and I would be proud
- 5:29of it, but then someone would come in and they would correct
- 5:31it. This just did not feel good.
- 5:33If I'm blatantly honest, it didn't feel good.
- 5:35So, and I'm getting, you know, I've got a photography studio as
- 5:39well and I'm, I'm taking pictures, commercial pictures
- 5:42for products and whatnot. And, and it's not filling my
- 5:45soul out. It's not making me happy.
- 5:49And I had, you know, this moment that, if you will, to come to
- 5:52Jesus moment where I was like, OK, what am I doing?
- 5:55Well, after my dad passed away and I am in this, I start to
- 6:00realize this is how I get into self development.
- 6:02I, I put myself on this path of self discovery and I realized I
- 6:07was way off the path because there was part of me that still
- 6:10wanted to be a teacher, that still wanted to write books,
- 6:13that that was a mission in myself and I could not escape
- 6:17that mission. So it was still there.
- 6:20Well, now look at what I'm doing.
- 6:22What am I doing right now? I'm teaching and I'm writing
- 6:25books and I have created what I would call the magical life
- 6:29because I went back to the path. I went back to the things that
- 6:34were in my soul, if you will. And here's the thing, my father
- 6:39wasn't wrong because he loved me.
- 6:41He was trying to correct me. I don't fault him for that.
- 6:43And all those gifts that I learned along the way are great
- 6:46and I still have all those skills.
- 6:48I can create my graphics for all the stuff that I do.
- 6:50I can market myself. I can do anything that I want,
- 6:54but I always had to come back to the path.
- 6:56And I think that's the the part of this that we have to check in
- 7:00with ourselves on and say, am I on my path or am I on the path
- 7:04that someone else created for me?
- 7:06And if I am off, what do I need to do to start to come back to
- 7:10my path? And I'm not saying you have to
- 7:12bang a hard left and all of a sudden just drop the world and
- 7:15go on to this other thing. And maybe you want to and that's
- 7:18your choice. But for most of us, we can make
- 7:22these corrections and come back and feel like we're gaining that
- 7:26momentum, gaining that charge in our soul again that puts us on
- 7:30the right path and makes us feel good.
- 7:33So I'm going to challenge you today to go back and think about
- 7:36those moments and ask yourself, you know, am I, am I really on
- 7:40the path of what I want? Or am I doing these things
- 7:43because this is what somebody else put on me or redirected me
- 7:47or told me? And think about the story that I
- 7:50just told you and see how that you know can pertain in your
- 7:54life as well. And hopefully it will help you
- 7:56pick up some of the whispers and get you back to a place where,
- 8:00or at least aligned with a place where you can be in that
- 8:02process. I will see you tomorrow, my
- 8:06friends, and I hope you have a fabulous day.
- 8:08Bye.
