- 0:00SPEAKER_02: I wanna just read a couple text messages on things we were just talking about, just to wrap everything up.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: One of them we talked about was somebody who did their engagement pictures yesterday in the dang hottest day of the year.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: And you just stand there and sweat.
- 0:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I would have rescheduled.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: Uh and I had mentioned after they had said that they were doing their engagement pictures, I I had said that weddings are on the rise for Gen Zers, they're down for uh millennials.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: And they texted back saying, We're eloping.
- 0:27SPEAKER_02: No big wedding over here.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: I mean it's gonna save you a ton of money.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: Uh, you were talking about the check thing at the Dansville store called Ocean State Job Lot and how you heard the noise of that.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: And it didn't click in my head until we were walking into the car, and Tiffany goes, Did you hear that old sound?
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: That was actually a lady that wrote a check, and it was the old register from the 90s.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: If you are a product of a generation of that generation, you know the sound.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: I'd heard it so many times in my life, it didn't even click.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: But then I realized I hadn't heard that sound in probably 30 years.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Aren't you glad you weren't standing behind that person?
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: Oh god.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: Uh or this one.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: I do checks at Walmart and Watkins all the time, and all I have to do is hand it to them, and I can get cash back as well, which is very helpful sometimes.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I guess if you didn't want to go to the ATM, sure.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: And I know this person and they're young.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: I haven't owned a check in 20 years.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Since I moved here, I have not owned a check.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't have a checkbook anymore.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: No.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: I I literally I could write a check.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: If somebody could drop me.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Somebody could drop me, like, you know, the check in front of me.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: I remember how to fill it out.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: But I I don't have checks.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: When you're buying a house, you will sometimes have to do this.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: And they'll they'll print a blank thing for you and they're like, here you go.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: Anyway, and then this person, they said, this is from 0700.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: I missed where you said the tops was.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: Can you please say it again?
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, Dansville has the nicest tops.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: It's tops.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: It's uh it's not like the size of a Wegmans that you would go into, like Hornell Corning, or or Elmira Ithaca.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: But it's not one of the baby tops.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: It's like somewhere in between.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: And I mean, and the people were great.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: I I gotta tell you, it was wild.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: You're making Dansville seem like it's like a uh a slice of heaven.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: This was the weirdest thing yesterday because I'm like, uh usually if I go to Dansville, I'm at the McDonald's or I'm back on the highway.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: I'm at Duncan or I'm at a gas station and I'm rolling.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: I actually spent a few minutes there and I'm like, what a trip back in time.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: Which also the gas station there, the TNA, uh you know what I say in my mind every single time.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: Every time.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: It doesn't matter if I'm traveling here to Cleveland, because you pass a bunch of TNAs from here to Cleveland.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, You gotta do it under your breath.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Um so I have to play this for you because obviously we're going into a patriotic weekend, right?
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: And uh is America's birthday.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Yes, I know.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: You're wearing your trucker hat, which I'll get to in a minute.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Nothing screams America, like your outfit today.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Oh, thank you.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Um but as we know, Saturday, the 250th birthday of the uh country, to celebrate.
