Transcript
- 0:00It's the Playhouse Podcast with Kat and JJ. Can you believe it?
- 0:04I missed everything. Missed the show? What am I going to do?
- 0:07Check out the daily podcast. You went to work and then you saw what?
- 0:11That was just freaking odd, like strange.
- 0:14We opened up the phones for these kind of conversations early this morning and
- 0:18you definitely didn't disappoint.
- 0:20Those are coming up in just a couple of seconds as we open up the podcast. Here we go.
- 0:24What is the single strangest thing that's happened to you in a public restroom? All right.
- 0:29So this flashback happened and I'm like, we got to talk about it because so
- 0:33many people run into weirdos or weird things happening in the bathroom all the time.
- 0:38But my mom was like, I want to go to the university's arboretum this fall and
- 0:43I want to make cornucopias.
- 0:45I want to take this class. And I'm like, I actually have done that before with
- 0:49some guys that I used to work for. I used to work for a group home and I took
- 0:53them on like a day date and we were having a great time.
- 0:57And then one of them had to go to the bathroom and I'm like,
- 1:01okay, well, he's been in there for a while. So I told the other one,
- 1:03go check on him, see if everything is okay.
- 1:06And the other one just opened the door super wide and one of the guys was just
- 1:11sitting crisscross applesauce, retying his shoes because he liked to do that
- 1:17like several times a day. On the dirty bathroom floor.
- 1:21All like the shoelace out and then he would, you know, put it back.
- 1:25And it was just one of his little quirks.
- 1:27And so he gave him his time. But I'm sure anybody that walked in saw this grown
- 1:31man in his horny. Crisscross applesauce. Crisscross applesauce.
- 1:35Yes. And who knows what was on the floor, but I'm sure that that was pretty odd for them.
- 1:40But I want to know, what is the strangest thing that you've seen in the bathroom?
- 1:44It was me having to use check blanks to wipe my butt because there was no toilet paper.
- 1:48Yes. I was in the Mall of America, and all I could get my hands on was check blanks.
- 1:54I was in one of the little itty-bitty side bathrooms, and there was no toilet
- 1:59paper in any of the stalls, and there weren't any paper towels because they
- 2:02had all hand dryers. Is that not the most debilitating feeling?
- 2:05How many of us actually check? Like, I have...
- 2:09Started to check, but sometimes I'll forget. And that's the worst thing to get
- 2:13caught up in. It's crippling.
- 2:14It is. It's like, oh, no, I got to do the shuffle to the next.
- 2:18And what bothered me the worst out of all that is I had paid the extra to get
- 2:24like the balloons on my checks.
- 2:27They weren't just regular checks. I paid for good fun.
- 2:32Oh, they had a design on them? Yeah, they had a design on them.
- 2:35And I'm like, I am wasting money wiping my
- 2:38butt with these checks and there's no way to
- 2:41make a check blank feel like a double ply charman
- 2:44yeah there's just no way so our question to you is
- 2:47in a public restroom what is the single weirdest thing you've ever seen how's
- 2:53lucy doing today good i noticed you got to us right away when we were asking
- 2:57for calls about the public bathroom what you got so we were actually on vacation
- 3:02in tennessee and And luckily, it didn't happen to me,
- 3:07but I was waiting for my husband and my son to get out of the bathroom.
- 3:11And so they're taking forever. I'm like, what is the holdup?
- 3:13So then I actually looked on my phone, and he had sent me a picture of the inside of this bathroom.
- 3:19And it was mortifying. There were feces everywhere, like on the wall.
- 3:26Over the toilet, the garbage can.
- 3:28So do you think it was like deliberately done or someone just had the worst day ever?
- 3:34It honestly looks like the worst day ever. Like, they must have,
- 3:37like, leaned forward to the side, backwards onto the wall, up the wall,
- 3:41and, like... So why were they in there for so long? Why were they in there for so long?
- 3:47Because they think they didn't know what to do. I think they probably...
- 3:52It was so much poop, it stopped their forward progress. I can hear the psycho music, you know?
- 3:57I bet they were just, like, looking around everywhere they looked,
- 4:00splatter, splatter, splatter.
- 4:01Do you by chance, Lucy, still have that picture on your phone?
- 4:06I'm actually looking at it now because I was like, I'm pretty sure I still have it.
- 4:10Will you please text that when you get done talking to us? Will you please text
- 4:15that to this very same number so we can see it?
- 4:17I don't know why we want to. Yeah, I got to see this. I got to see it.
- 4:21You're the best. I hope you have a great morning. Thanks for helping us out. The worst bathroom.
- 4:25Yeah, it looks like somebody was really having a bad day. That doesn't look intentional.
- 4:28That's crazy. It looks like they barely made it into the stall,
- 4:32and then everything blew out as they were trying to sit down.
- 4:37But, like, then, after, you know what? You got to be a decent human and clean it up.
- 4:44Somebody goes, pull their trousers up, and they're like, I'm out of here.
- 4:49I'm not sticking around for that. Yuck.
- 4:53And I don't blame them, because there's a heavy amount right there.
- 4:55Thanks, Lucy, for the picture. I appreciate it. Hi, Hannah. How are you?
- 4:59I am good. We appreciate you joining the show. We're great too.
- 5:03Thank you. As we're talking about the single weirdest thing you've seen in a
- 5:06public restroom, what do you got for us?
- 5:09So I was, oh man, this is probably 15 years ago.
- 5:13I was working at a convenience store and this younger gal and I were on the
- 5:21closing shift and we were cleaning bathrooms, cleaning the store,
- 5:25mopping and everything.
- 5:26And we had cleaned both bathrooms and I just smelled the worst.
- 5:34Yeah, we get it. The worst smell ever.
- 5:38Okay. And I'm like, we have scrubbed these bathrooms, scrubbed these toilets.
- 5:43And I'm asking her, I'm like, where is this coming from?
- 5:48And we were in there and we looked up and there was a massive cow pie on the ceiling.
- 5:58And I was like, how does that even happen?
- 6:04So someone grabbed it and just launched it onto the ceiling.
- 6:10Yep, I looked at her. I said, I don't get good enough for this, and neither do you.
- 6:14We walked out. I'm like, no, thank you. I don't even know where to begin to
- 6:18clear that. I don't know.
- 6:21Was this like a regular ceiling or was it like a tile drop ceiling so you could
- 6:25probably grab it down if you had to?
- 6:27No, no, it was a sheetrock painted.
- 6:32How long does something like that hang up there?
- 6:36Oh, Hannah, go ahead. Repeat what you just last said, because your phone kind of cut out.
- 6:43I said, will you repeat what you last said, because your phone kind of cut out? I didn't hear it.
- 6:47Oh, no, I thought it was a nice painted sheetrock ceiling. It was a two-stall
- 6:51bathroom, not even a single stall.
- 6:54Like, somebody just pooped in their hand and threw it off the ceiling.
- 6:58People are such primates. What is wrong with people? Yeah, that is a perfect
- 7:02question, and we'll never get the answer. But, you know, I'm not a big proponent
- 7:05of people saying I don't get paid enough to handle that.
- 7:08But that is that's one of those scenarios that it works with. Well played, Hannah.
- 7:12Hey, thanks for the call. We really appreciate you. You too.
- 7:15I got Denise on line three.
- 7:18We got a bathroom story for us. Last weekend, I was with my girlfriend and I had to use the bathroom.
- 7:23And, you know, I'm expecting nobody to be there. And there's this girl completely
- 7:27just in her bra and her underwear.
- 7:30What? drying her clothes under the hand dryer.
- 7:34And it's just one of those situations where you walk in and you're like, did I, where am I?
- 7:40Did I walk into somebody's bedroom? Or like, what is going on?
- 7:43And the worst part is that we both made eye contact and then it's like,
- 7:47do I continue using the bathroom? Do I walk out?
- 7:50And it was just like the weirdest, most like randomest thing ever.
- 7:53Well, what was your next move? You made eye contact? Did you just go into a stall?
- 7:57And you're like, well, I'm just going to let her do her thing. She went into a stall.
- 8:00I went into a stall and just kept looking at my feet like I could get out of
- 8:06there. Good morning. I'm JJ House Cat.
- 8:09I am fine. I left my yogurt and banana in the car. So there's that. I'll do you one better.
- 8:15I've been here since 12, 15 a.m. Why would that even be a thing? Take a guess.
- 8:22Take a guess. What would get a guy like me to come to work after 90 minutes
- 8:27of sleep? Snoring. No. Oh.
- 8:31The station went off the air? No.
- 8:33One more guess. Oh, my God. You have to leave early. No. So you had to get stuff
- 8:37done. All right. I'm out of guesses.
- 8:40You ever had a point in your life where you realized you were the only one in
- 8:45your existence that has common human courtesy?
- 8:50No. Okay, here's where I'm living. Okay. My wife, anytime and during the weekend
- 8:55that she wants to sleep in, there is not a peep on our two and a half acre property.
- 9:01You put on your marshmallow shoes and you let her sleep.
- 9:03That's really nice. My 17-year-old son comes home after football and hockey practice last night.
- 9:10To let my wife know quietly that I'm home. So I always thought,
- 9:15you know what would be a good idea? Leave a light on.
- 9:17When the children get home, they can shut the light off and then you know they're home.
- 9:21My wife not only has to have the light on right outside our bedroom window or
- 9:25door, but then they have to come in and talk to her.
- 9:27So at this point, after I was drained after a 16-hour workday yesterday,
- 9:33my wife and son decide to go into a 30-minute verbal sparring session about
- 9:39everything that's happened in their life because she hadn't seen him all day. They were catching up.
- 9:45Catching up. Yeah. 12 and a half inches away from my ear. And you just couldn't
- 9:50go back to bed. Couldn't go back to bed.
- 9:52Listen, I got a guy. I'll get you some stuff. I don't, what,
- 9:56like, and then how am I going to wake up three hours later?
- 9:59You just got it. I just, I hit a point where this morning where I went,
- 10:03nobody has any GD courtesy anymore in this whole world.
- 10:07Why don't you go sleep in another bedroom?
- 10:10I'm going to have to go sleep in another building. Yeah.
- 10:13Like that's kind of where it's gotten to. Like, I just can't believe I would
- 10:16have never in a hundred thousand years walked into my parents' bedroom and had
- 10:22a full on conversation at 11 o'clock at nine knowing my dad was going to get up in three hours.
- 10:26It's so crazy that you just couldn't go find somewhere else to sleep.
- 10:30You have another long day today.
- 10:32I was already up, and this was like a 20-minute conversation.
- 10:35I sat there going, any chance you guys can have this conversation outside the bedroom?
- 10:40No, they were both fairly comfortable. So I'm the sacrificial lamb for sleep,
- 10:45and I feel like my head is just wavy right now.
- 10:49Because over the last, I don't know, 36 hours, I've got three hours of sleep.
- 10:54You should door dash us both coffee.
- 10:57Today's going to be a trip. If you are ever thinking like, hey,
- 11:00something could go down on their show. Yeah. That's really unpredictable.
- 11:04Today, I think it's it. Wow. This is going to be an exciting ride.
- 11:07I can hardly wait. Yeah. Should be a good one.
- 11:10Go ahead. I had, well, speaking of long conversations, too long of a conversation
- 11:14with my mom who self-diagnosed herself.
- 11:18Thanks to Google. Oh, what does she have? She has diabetes.
- 11:21So it was. I don't think she has type 2 diabetes. No, she's very frightened.
- 11:25She ticks all the boxes because she went out with some girlfriends and she had
- 11:30two surf sides and a huge carrot cake.
- 11:33And then at midnight, she woke up. Of course, that was a lot of sugar.
- 11:36She woke up and she chugged, no joke, eight glasses of water.
- 11:41And I peed like four times. And I said, Siri, what is happening?
- 11:46And Siri says, you have diabetes. And so she is, like, this close to going into
- 11:52urgent care. She calls my sister.
- 11:54My sister's like, this is more for, like,
- 11:57a physician. Why don't you go schedule a physician appointment?
- 12:01It's not going to be an urgent care. Just lay back on the sugar a little bit,
- 12:05Jan, and you're going to be fine.
- 12:06And then she's like, I mean, she is the perfect example of a cut to you're going to die.
- 12:13I told her never to lead a TED Talk. One of her students was spraying some body
- 12:18spray, and she goes, you're going to grow a beard.
- 12:22The girl goes, what? She goes, yeah, studies are back that all the girls that
- 12:27used body sprays heavily back in the 90s, they all have hashed beards and facial hair.
- 12:34And I'm like, actually, I was like, whoa, who did that study?
- 12:40I need to hear more on that.
- 12:42And she's responsible for the education of our youth. Yes, she's like, she's frightening.
- 12:48Every day I realize a little bit more and more about the people that I thought
- 12:52were kind of weird. They were homeschooling their kids. I'm like,
- 12:54you guys are probably doing it right.
- 12:56Who's going to get the bingo today is the big question. Bingo.
- 12:59How far? Last week, someone lost an eye at bingo. Bingo. Bingo what bingo?
- 13:04Bingo. Bingo. All right. On the hunt for somebody listening who.
- 13:08Who has a fun, maybe creative way that you came up with your kid's name.
- 13:13This woman is trying so hard to get her brother to reconsider what he's naming
- 13:17his kid. What kind of name is that anyhow, huh?
- 13:19Brisket. So he was out smoking meat.
- 13:22He's like, I know. I'm having a son, and we're going to name him Brisket.
- 13:28I like the episode of Seinfeld where George wants to name his kids seven because
- 13:33it's Mickey Mantle's number, and then somebody else falls in love with it.
- 13:36He tells the wrong people, and they're like, we're going to use it, George.
- 13:38We're using it. And then he's like, no, no, no, use soda.
- 13:42Use soda. Seven or soda. Soda. The only options out there.
- 13:46So you have a very creative way of coming up with your kid's name.
- 13:49Still for the life of me, I don't know where I came up with my kid's middle name.
- 13:54Can't even tell you. Merit. I didn't smoke Merit's. I was a Turkish gold gal.
- 14:03Classic. And I did not smoke while I was pregnant. It was like, I just don't know.
- 14:09We were like yelling stuff, sticking whatever stuck to the wall.
- 14:13And that was it. I have never met a Merit my entire life.
- 14:17Derek doesn't know how to spell it. And Liam forgets most days.
- 14:21So it's just kind of there. So meaningful. First certificate.
- 14:24I'm on the hunt this morning for anyone listening who just had a really horrible Halloween.
- 14:29I mean, if you think about it, Halloween is the worst day ever.
- 14:34With all of the bad. Think about all of the bad movies and killing and death that happens.
- 14:39It's the worst day. It's never, hey, some guy with a big chainsaw is going to
- 14:44come kill you on May 14th.
- 14:46It's always October 31st. You never have a 0% chance.
- 14:49But I want to know about the horrible thing that happened to you on Halloween.
- 14:53If you had a really bad Halloween, or maybe you're somebody listening who has
- 14:57got that weird baby name, got to call now, okay? Bingo!
- 15:01Last week, someone lost an eye at bingo. Bingo! Bingo what? Bingo!
- 15:06Bingo! So, Nate is first through, but we've got to try and figure out first,
- 15:11is he somebody listening who?
- 15:12Who had a fun way that they came up with naming their child. or children.
- 15:17Like brisket. Yeah. But just grilling. I know somebody, this is a cousin of
- 15:24mine, like a distant cousin, but they named their daughter Zelda.
- 15:27Because they played the video game. Yeah, after the Legend of and then...
- 15:31You played that all the time. I liked it, but it wasn't, Zelda wasn't the name.
- 15:34Zelda was the princess you were trying to capture, or not capture,
- 15:39but release. Are you sure it wasn't called Zelda? Yeah, it was the Legend of Zelda.
- 15:41Legend of Zelda. Yeah, but Zelda, the name of the character was something else.
- 15:45The guy with the little pointy ears anyways I'm on the hunt for anyone listening
- 15:49who had a horrible horrible Halloween
- 15:53with it right around the corner and they make all the movies that are
- 15:55just the worst day of the year is October 31st and
- 15:58I take a little offense to it because my birthday is only like a week before
- 16:01that that's kind of my time of the year so don't jump up on that Nate which
- 16:05one do you fit this morning uh I don't have kids but I named one of my cats
- 16:12fridge okay well sure why not it absolutely does not count.
- 16:17I don't know if you were listening, but we'll go with it. Let's talk about your
- 16:20cat fridge. Why? Just because it's fat as hell?
- 16:24Oh, no. The one day or first day I brought him home, he jumped right in the
- 16:28fridge and I was like, that's your name. There it is.
- 16:32It almost named itself, huh? So you would have named it washing machine if it
- 16:37had jumped in there. Yeah.
- 16:38Oh, yeah, for sure. All right. Well, I can't believe you hung on four minutes
- 16:43to tell us that story, but you're a real trooper, Nate. Have a great morning.
- 16:47Yeah, okay, take care. I feel like the world is just. This is great.
- 16:52We're tilted right now. Hi, Aaliyah. How are you?
- 16:55Good. How are you? Good. You got a bingo for us this morning that might be more
- 16:58interesting? Maybe. Okay, shoot.
- 17:02Okay, so basically, I got home from trick-or-treating, and this happened two years ago.
- 17:07Anyways, so I was getting some clothes ready for the next day,
- 17:12and my dresser drawer fell on my toe, and I just screamed, and my mom came in
- 17:18like, what, what happened?
- 17:19And my toenail was, it was off of my foot.
- 17:22Oh, my God. You're going to be like my mom. I take my mom to go get pedicures,
- 17:26and the poor women have to paint a skin square on her big toe.
- 17:31No, it doesn't always not come back, because I lost a toenail in a lawnmower
- 17:35accident a couple years ago, and mine came back.
- 17:38It only chopped off one toenail? No, it didn't chop anything off.
- 17:42It was just I was mowing barefooted like a stupid idiot, and it flipped onto
- 17:48my foot, ripped my toenail completely off. Did yours grow back, Aaliyah?
- 17:51Yeah. Okay, good. It's not all weird.
- 17:55Yeah, it's not all weird, but I was getting scared because it did look like yellow at first.
- 18:00Jaundice. Yeah, but it's fine
- 18:02now. All right. Good stuff. Have a great morning. Thanks for checking in.
- 18:07You too. Bye. Yeah. Best bingo ever. Best ever.
- 18:12More tickets to check out Cardi B coming up Wednesday morning during our live
- 18:15show, but we're going to do them right away at 6.05 a.m.
- 18:18So if that concert sounds good to you, be here for those.
- 18:21And then about 8.40, do you have anything like taxidermied in your home?
- 18:27You have to hear what's going on with one of our listeners who has something
- 18:30new that they want to kind of add to the repertoire, but it doesn't seem like
- 18:35it's going to happen because of the wife.
- 18:37So you got to hear that about 8.40 Wednesday morning. Right now,
- 18:41let's finish off our podcast, guys.
- 18:42Did you see how many dead birds were on the sidewalk yesterday?
- 18:46No, no, no, no. Did you see that?
- 18:47Oh, that one building next to ours that has just like black glass.
- 18:51They must not see it. You think they were hitting it? All of them.
- 18:54Oh my gosh. Bird after bird after bird.
- 18:57Way to go. It was like, yeah, Friday the 13th. It was really weird.
- 19:00I want to know today, what's the craziest thing you've seen at work? And here's why.
- 19:04I have a friend named Brian And I've heard him tell this story more than once,
- 19:07but he used to work at a movie theater when he was in his teens.
- 19:13And they had a bunch of homeless people that would basically buy a ticket kind
- 19:18of like early in the like when they open up at noon.
- 19:21And they get a matinee ticket and then they just kind of go from theater to
- 19:25theater and they'd eat people's leftover popcorn.
- 19:28And they'd, you know, kind of be inside, especially during the cold winter months.
- 19:31And he said none of it really bothered any of the people that were like ushers
- 19:36or cleaning and stuff like that. He said except for one guy that they called
- 19:39Santa because he looked like Santa.
- 19:43But he said he walked out of a theater once.
- 19:46And right next to the turn for the bathroom, Santa was just taking a whiz in the hallway.
- 19:50All right. And he goes, dude, the bathroom's right there.
- 19:54And he said the guy just smiled at him and went, hey, waved at him and just
- 19:57finished his whiz and then went right back into the movie theater.
- 20:01And you thought, you don't give a damn.
- 20:03People that do that, they have nothing else to give.
- 20:08Like, you know, Finding Nemo 2 just finished. You're going to close down the theater.
- 20:12You're going to clean it out. And you walk out. There's this guy just taking
- 20:15a leak in the hallway. And you go, hey, what do you do? And he goes, hey.
- 20:20And then that's it. So I want to know, what's the single weirdest thing that's
- 20:25ever happened to you at work?
- 20:26All right. Well, you dipped out. It was a summer day. You dipped out early per usual.
- 20:30And I am sitting here and I hear a ruckus. I hear a ruckus upstairs.
- 20:35A man is pacing back and forth, looking down here, pointing at the studio.
- 20:41And I think it's like a fan that is just overzealous, not angry.
- 20:45So I leave the studio to say, hello, thanks for listening.
- 20:49And I just hear, get out here, JJ, show your face, get out here.
- 20:56And he's pounding on the windows upstairs, later finding out that he had reached
- 21:02in his pants and smeared fecal matter on the window, going outside.
- 21:09And thankfully he was dressed in something that normal people don't wear.
- 21:14They were like tie-dyed Zubas and this neon sweatshirt.
- 21:18But he was looking for you. Built for comfort.
- 21:20And they caught up with him. He didn't get too far.
- 21:23In 30 minutes, he only got like a block and a half.
- 21:27He had to keep stopping to smear. I don't know what you said.
- 21:30I don't know either. I don't know what you did, but you made him mad that day.
- 21:35That stands out for you, the single weirdest thing you've seen at work. Yeah.
- 21:39Yeah, that's pretty weird. It doesn't get any more weird than that.
- 21:42Nick, what's the weirdest thing you've seen at work?
- 21:44I worked at a restaurant, and we had a very multi-cultured staff.
- 21:49And all of a sudden, out of nowhere, this guy from Cuba and this guy from Italy
- 21:53started swinging fists at each other.
- 21:55The guy from Italy pulls out a knife and starts swinging it at the guy from
- 21:58Cuba, and I'm trying to figure out what's going on.
- 22:00And one of the managers tells me that it was over the World Cup soccer. Oh, yeah, World Cup.
- 22:05People lose their frigging mind over the World Cup, so I get that.
- 22:08Thank you very much. Beth, you're up next.
- 22:10Single thing, weirdest thing you've ever seen at work?
- 22:14I worked at a vet clinic as a vet assistant, and I saw a C-section of a dog. Oh, C-section of a dog.
- 22:21Interesting. Interesting. Weird. I would think that that would be a thing if
- 22:25they weren't able to come out the normal way.
- 22:27Alex, you saw what at work that you just deemed super weird.
- 22:31I used to work at the movie theater here in town, and there was a person that
- 22:37was watching a movie that had, let's put this politely for the radio,
- 22:42explosive diarrhea, and I had to clean up the mess in the theater after that.
- 22:47There it is. We have a winner. Ish.
- 22:51Diarrhea is always going to be the winner. Diarrhea will always reign supreme.
- 22:55Anything that comes out of a human, I think, and you have to clean it up,
- 22:58is awful. But I did see just like magic at work.
- 23:02I had taken Liam to Chipotle and this was when like he'd just make himself gag
- 23:08for no reason. It was between two and four years old. And so you never knew
- 23:12when he was going to do it.
- 23:14And he got like a grain of rice on the wrong part of the tongue and he was like,
- 23:18and then threw up on the ground and they came by with this dust and it turned
- 23:24the vomit into like powder.
- 23:26Sure. And they just swept it up. It was pretty incredible.
- 23:29Have you gotten to that point in your life yet where you have different friend groups per season?
- 23:35Not per season, but like in my life right now, I have different compartments
- 23:40of friends. Mine are all based on sports seasons.
- 23:43Yeah, they really are. Yeah, that can come and go for sure. But I got this text
- 23:47during my show from a girl named we're just going to call her G.
- 23:50And she just texted and it started getting my brain going. I'm like,
- 23:53I have this. And she says, my husband is wondering. He just asked the question.
- 23:58Why don't I meet up with my work friends and my regular life friends at the same time?
- 24:05And she said she couldn't answer him. worlds collide.
- 24:08Is that it? Yeah. It's like you want to talk shop with your friends that you
- 24:13see all the time at work and then maybe you only see your girlfriends once a
- 24:18month because it's the date that works out for everybody.
- 24:21The girlfriends will judge you secretly if they see your work friends because
- 24:26they're not your typical kind of friends.
- 24:27You're just friends with them at work. They might be a little bit older.
- 24:30They might maybe you're younger and you don't have kids, But all of a sudden
- 24:33this work friend has kids and they've been married for 30 years or they're not
- 24:39like your friend friends.
- 24:41Have you ever mixed friend groups and it just didn't turn out well?
- 24:45I don't think I have had where like worlds collided and it was just pure drama.
- 24:51But there were points when like things were kind of awkward and you're like.
- 24:55I had it happen to me the summer after my freshman year in college.
- 24:59College I had I moved away and I didn't really
- 25:02keep in touch with anybody that that I
- 25:04was high school friends with and then I had a
- 25:07couple of friends from college come stay with us for like a
- 25:10week and I got them to meet my high school
- 25:12friends and when those worlds collided because the high school knows the real
- 25:17JJ my friends for 11 years yeah and then all of a sudden I have the one friends
- 25:22that are like oh we know this guy and then they meet and it was like it was
- 25:27like when the ocean water meets the sea water or the river water.
- 25:32And there's that like weird dance that they got going on. Have you ever been through this?
- 25:37Give us a call. You want to recap that text real quick that we got yesterday?
- 25:40Yeah. From a girl, we're just going to call her G. She's requested.
- 25:44And she just simply said like her husband asked her a question the other day
- 25:47that she couldn't quite answer.
- 25:49And it was, why don't you go out for happy hour with both friend groups?
- 25:55So she has her work friend group and then she has her
- 25:58normal life friend group and she's like i didn't know
- 26:00how to answer that it just like instinctually you
- 26:04don't want to blend those worlds when worlds collide
- 26:07when worlds collide and i have so many different like
- 26:10kinds of girlfriends that offer me so much individually i don't know how they
- 26:15would mix together i mean it's worth a try i can have like a little um pure
- 26:20romance party i've had a how it goes i've had that's a lot of pressure You know
- 26:24where I've had this happen the most of my life is when I do like a golf scramble.
- 26:29You know, so it'll be like a youth sports organization, golf scramble,
- 26:32and I'll have to get like three other guys together. So like I'll bring like
- 26:35your husband and then all of a sudden like maybe another coaching buddy or a
- 26:38baseball friend that I have that he's never met before.
- 26:41And it's never been bad, but you could, but it's just an awkward presentation
- 26:45when you're like, all right.
- 26:47Because you know both of them really well, but they don't know each other well.
- 26:50And then you got to, you know, they probably will take up most of the time getting
- 26:55to know each other and then boom, it's over. Hey, Hannah, you've had worlds
- 26:58collide here, right? Definitely.
- 27:00I think that everybody has different groups depending on where you are in life.
- 27:06And I just keep that separated.
- 27:09And I do that as well. I think that there are certain people like all of my girlfriends.
- 27:14I have a really great group of girlfriends right now, but I love to meet with
- 27:18them one on one because I get something different from each one of them.
- 27:22And I would say if you have like your core work group and then you have your
- 27:26core outside group that maybe people that you've known for a long time,
- 27:30they're different, right?
- 27:32Definitely. It's super different. For me, I have the group that I grew up with,
- 27:37went to school with, you know, I've known them for years and years and years.
- 27:40So they've seen me grow into the person I am. And then I have my professional group.
- 27:44And that, I think, is a little bit different.
- 27:46I mean, I work with these people every day. We know about each other's personal
- 27:50lives because there's always that, especially at work, there's always that situation
- 27:56where you tell your coworker or your friend everything they tell you.
- 28:00So you know more about their personal life than you would ever.
- 28:03And with the friends growing up, I think it's a little bit different because
- 28:06we've known each other for so long.
- 28:08Sometimes it's not as easy to say, oh, my God, this and this happened or blah,
- 28:12blah, blah. But with somebody you work with, because it's such a different group,
- 28:17you open up and you know everything about them.
- 28:20They know everything about you and your neighbors and whoever.
- 28:22And it's just, I mean, I think it's hilarious, but that's just me. No, you know what?
- 28:26I was going to think that a different way for this is guys that I went to college
- 28:32with or I played ball in college when they meet my children.
- 28:37Because I am nothing.
- 28:39This point in my life, I am nothing like I was when I knew those guys.
- 28:44So them to see you as a dad is probably pretty trippy. As somebody who is pseudo
- 28:49responsible as a father of three. Yeah.
- 28:52Is very weird. And then when they, their initial reaction is to look at any
- 28:56one of my kids and want to pull them aside and go, you know what your dad did? Yeah.
- 29:00And I'm like, no, no, no, that's not, that's a long time ago.
- 29:02That's another life. Stuff like that. Yeah.
