- 0:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you can do some free things for us to help us reach more people to get to get closer and closer and closer to that goal that we have to reach and help at least three billion people over the course of my lifetime and beyond, you can do that by doing one or more of these free things.

- 1:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We invite each and every one of you.
- 1:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're over 550 episodes going strong.
- 1:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, want to remind everybody whether this is whether this is your first episode or you've been with us from the beginning, uh, to go ahead and uh check out the rest of our catalog of over 550 episodes.
- 2:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So thank you for being with us.
- 2:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Episode today, there was a song uh back in back in the 90s, there was a band called uh Nirvana, and uh tragically the lead singer Kurt Cobain passed away.
- 2:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There was one song that I was thinking about the last couple days, uh, and that is Come as You Are and so this isn't to glorify everything that the band was it is to merely just to take those terms that that those those words come as you are and you might ask, well, why is that important to have on an episode?
- 3:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's very important because we do very little judging of anybody, we fall short sometimes, everybody falls short sometimes, but we try our darndest not to judge others, and so with that come as you are, that means come as you are as you're as you're dressed today for the things that you do.
- 3:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I know when I go to the gym, there are uh there's individuals that are using the gym that are wearing all kinds of attire, all kinds of clothing.
- 3:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some have jeans and a t-shirt, some have jeans and a polo shirt, some have shorts and a polo shirt.
- 4:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh you know, and some have shorts and a t-shirt, um, and you know, some have you know gloves to help them but lift weights and and and to do their their workout.
- 4:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so that really hit home uh a day ago and just getting around to filming this episode.
- 4:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we just want to again, we want to just share, let everybody know that come as you are, you don't need to change to be part of the voices for voices family.
- 4:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's nothing you need to do special, extra.
- 4:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mentioned, you know, if you could help us out and give us a thumbs up, like, follow, subscribe, share, reshare, repost, reach out, pull out your phone, and and uh, you know, send the voices for voices podcast to 25 uh of your contacts and your phone, that doesn't mean you have to do it.
- 5:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's merely which is what our our brand is and has been and will be.
- 5:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's coming as as you are, you don't have to do any of those.
- 5:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And while sometimes shows that we've done in the past and there may be in the future, I don't I don't know, um a wide variety of topics, but the one topic you won't hear us talk about at Voices for Voices or mythical creatures around the world is the intent to harm anybody uh physically, mentally.
- 5:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You you don't hear that with us.
- 6:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yes, you may hear some information you may not agree with.
- 6:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's okay.
- 6:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Turn the channel, turn the dial, as the old saying goes.
- 6:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Turn the dial on the radio, turn the dial on the podcast, turn turn it off, turn something else on.
- 6:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um but you'll you you you will not hear voices for voices inciting any kind of violence, uh harm towards anybody.
- 6:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yes, we have enemies.
- 6:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I think all of us have enemies to an extent.
- 6:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, but we even with individuals being our enemies, that doesn't mean we we wish any harm on them at all.
- 6:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We we mean zero physical harm.
- 6:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're not telling anybody to go out and do anything to hurt anybody, physically, mentally, spiritually, every the whole the whole gamut.
- 7:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You're not gonna hear that.
- 7:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so again, might not like the content in some of the episodes.
- 7:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's okay.
- 7:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have over 550 episodes, and I can guarantee you that not all of them, a very small percentage of them, uh, deal with certain uh certain aspects uh that individuals could be considered at could consider as uh controversial.
- 7:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um because not a lot of people do it.
- 7:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's a hard thing to do to take a stand.
- 7:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's hard.
- 7:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just like it's hard to wake up in the morning sometimes, you know.
- 7:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh weather, you know, cloudy overcast, snowing, whatever it may be.
- 8:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I go through it every year, you know, the SAD sad seasonal effective disorder.
- 8:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and that's just something that I I go through.
- 8:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and it and it it's okay.
- 8:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm not the only one that go goes through it or has any not harm, uh just that feeling.
- 8:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, we had a uh we had a guest on several episodes ago now, at this time uh when when this episode comes out, and he was talking about getting out of bed, brushing your teeth, putting new clothes on, getting something to eat, all of those things each and every day, not only are they choices that we make, but as somebody, you know, with major depression, myself, I know exactly how that feels.
- 9:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's like, oh my gosh, I gotta start today.
- 9:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Am I gonna be able to get to whatever projects that I was planning on?
- 9:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or will I not?
- 9:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so it might be like, okay, well, I'll just do something, I'll just I'll just do those tomorrow.
- 9:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And sometimes it's good.
- 9:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, let's just say like going to the gym.
- 9:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Going to the gym is good, it's great, it's it's helpful.
- 9:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um it's helped me a ton.
- 9:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But you always gotta have days where you don't go to the gym to let your body recuperate a little bit, let those muscles rest and start to expand.
- 10:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Excuse me.
- 10:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And otherwise, our our bodies just will just be in a continuous uh continuous state of potentially burnout.
- 10:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: People talk about you know hitting that plateau at the gym.
- 10:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I was working out for three months or two months or whatever the time it may be, that doesn't matter what the amount of time.
- 10:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And and then I hit a plateau, meaning we're trying to lift a certain amount of weight and for one reason or another, not able to lift more.
- 10:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And for me, it doesn't matter the amount of weight that I I lift or the stretches that I do or any of that.
- 11:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, yes, there's numbers to the weights, but yeah, I mean I I'd be I'd be silly if I'd if I wouldn't want to try to move up with the weights, you know, to lift a little bit more.
- 11:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I also have to remember that I'm not 24 anymore.
- 11:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm 44.
- 11:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And and and so I just need to be a little bit more more careful.
- 11:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um I I think I pulled a uh calf muscle, and I really noticed it when I was on uh my last uh cardio day.
- 12:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I did cardio on the treadmill for 30 minutes, and then I did the arm cardio with the the arm bike for 30 minutes.
- 12:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um I was and I was just walking on treadmill, like I'm not running, like I'm just there to kind of as one of um as one of the other individuals, uh we were we were talking and and he was sharing with me what helps him, and and he said that you know you know do 10-15 minutes on a treadmill just to get your blood flowing and that uh I did 30 because that was what I was doing that day.
- 12:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I was I was doing cardio.
- 12:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, so I was doing cardio, you know, on the treadmill walking, trying to use my arms too to get a little bit of workout that way, and then the arm bike, uh so it's basically like a bicycle for your for your hands that you're you can go forward or you can go backwards.
- 13:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and so that was my cardio day.
- 13:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Will my next cardio day be the exact same?
- 13:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe, maybe not.
- 13:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe maybe I'll start with the arm bike first and then go to the uh then go to the treadmill.
- 13:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I d I don't know.
- 13:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um just getting back in the into the swing of things has been so helpful and so um so calming um by by going and again I don't I don't like to I like to get in and get out.
- 13:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I like to go in, I like to do my workout, and I like to get out.
- 14:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some of the individuals you know they'll say hi and um but the one the one individual I'm referring to, he's he's very kind and and then he'll he'll just recommend something.
- 14:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: He doesn't say you have to do it this way or you have to do it that way.
- 14:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: He says, here's what I do, like I don't know, like maybe try it.
- 14:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it doesn't mean I'm gonna always do the treadmill for 15 minutes before I start lifting the weights.
- 14:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um that when I do lift the weights, they're not in they're not at the amount obviously where it used to be when I was, let's say, 24.
- 14:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh but just just doing it, just being, you know, you hear the saying, you know, a body in motion stays in motion, a body at rest stays at rest.
- 15:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I I think that's pretty pretty clear.
- 15:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and good like a good tip or a good um I don't know, I guess I don't know what they call it.
- 15:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It says like a tip, I guess.
- 15:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um it's just it's true.
- 15:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like when I'm sitting a lot, I notice it.
- 15:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so does my waist, and then and that.
- 15:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um then when I go back to the gym, right?
- 15:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I'm taking a day off here or there, it it's ended up being where I'm working out five days a week.
- 15:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, but I'm doing you know, maybe like one body part, like I might do triceps, and then I'm gonna do some cardio.
- 16:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, I'm gonna just see how that works.
- 16:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sometimes it I won't, like I said, sometimes I won't do the cardio before, just depending on my schedule.
- 16:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh but it's okay.
- 16:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Even if even if you take two days to rest in between, I haven't I haven't had two days resting from the gym since I started, like a month, a month ago or so.
- 16:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that's good for my body to have a little bit of extra time uh to again recuperate, um, rejuvenate so that when I when I do head back to the gym, then I'll I'll be in a little more relaxed state, feel like I'll have uh you know the energy, uh extra energy, I guess, that uh most like that extra energy I I had when I first started at the gym.
- 17:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was like, all right, I'm back at the gym, let's go.
- 17:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, and then then I did like an all-around workout where I did a little little bit of you know each each uh body part, chest, back, shoulder, legs, you name it, biceps, triceps, trap, trapezius, the traps, um, you know, kind of the back of the neck area, uh and and so I was because I had a lot of a lot of energy, and I still have a lot of energy.
- 17:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And um, the reason I'm bringing up the rest is because in our lives, whether it's the gym or whether it's something else, it's not a bad thing that takes some rest.
- 18:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's not a bad thing to slow down for a little bit.
- 18:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's not it's not hurting anything to just slow it down.
- 18:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And that's something that I've had to uh do what I practice or what I practice what I preach, you know, like I'm sharing this, like I have I have to do the things.
- 18:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh otherwise it doesn't like it doesn't feel right if I'm you know saying one thing and don't the other.
- 18:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it makes more sense to me when I'm able to practice what I what I what I talk about, what I share.
- 19:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and uh as you know, if you've been with us with Voices for Voices, our podcast for a while, uh you know I'm as about as transparent as it comes.
- 19:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh if you're new to this show, new to the podcast, uh I'm again I'm I'm about as transparent as it comes.
- 19:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I talk about again easy topics, hard topics.
- 19:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, sometimes like today you're just happy to be alive, happy to be uh able to do this podcast episode, to do this, to do this show, to be able to talk, to be able to share, to be an inspiration, hopefully, to at least one person watching and listening.
- 20:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or they may hear from a reshare or a family member or a friend, significant other colleague.
- 20:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And they might say, you know what?
- 20:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's alright if I take it easy.
- 20:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No, I can come as I am.
- 20:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it does not it does not bother us one one bit.
- 20:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, we talk about being mythical creatures around the world.
- 20:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, that's exactly what it is.
- 20:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're around the world.
- 20:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And and so from a branding perspective, we talk a whole lot more culture than we do with politics.
- 21:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sometimes politics sneaks as sneaks their way in, um, but that's not that's not who we are.
- 21:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're not you know, we're not a political show, we're not a political podcast.
- 21:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We may have news from time to time, but that's not what our shows are about.
- 21:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Our shows are about being human, things we can do to maybe help.
- 21:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And again, I I'm helping my own self by doing this show and all the shows that we do.
- 21:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because one of the best ways to kind of help, you know, uh a wandering mind is to do journaling.
- 22:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: To write about it.
- 22:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You can write about it and then throw it right away, but at least you got it out of your head and then on the paper or some on on uh on your device.
- 22:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so instead of that, for me, I use the show as a little bit of well, a lot of journaling.
- 22:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So this is this voices for voices, everything, especially the voices for voices, podcasts, TV show.
- 22:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's what it's about.
- 22:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's about sharing what's going on.
- 22:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some things we may agree on, some things we might not.
- 22:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But that's life.
- 22:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's I'm not gonna agree with everything.
- 22:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Otherwise, everybody in the world would agree on the same thing, and uh I it would be an interesting thing if that would occur.
- 23:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But being unique is a good thing.
- 23:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so to to close out, come as you are.
- 23:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You have to dress a certain way or act a certain way or doesn't matter.
- 23:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I stutter, I say so and like, and I am by no means the best speaker or any of that.
- 23:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm just being a human being, which is what we all are, and I'm sharing human being things, experiences, events, all that.
- 24:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So thank you for being with us for this particular episode.
- 24:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, if you can give us a thumbs up, like, follow, subscribe, share, reshare, repost, and pull out that phone and share the Voices for Voices podcast with maybe 25 or 50 contacts you have.
- 24:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 24:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Voices for voices is not voices for voices without you, without you sharing your voice.
- 24:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And that can be by listening, that could be by watching, that can be by speaking, that could be by playing an instrument, that could be by singing, that could be by playing a sport, and on and on and on.
- 24:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're voices for voices, and so as we close out, let's celebrate all the voices in the world, and let's also be a voice in whatever way that may be, not only for ourselves, but maybe somebody else in need that isn't able to share their voice.
- 25:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So thank you so much.
- 25:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We'll see you on the next show.
- 25:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're sending our love and support and our prayers to every single one of you.
- 25:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You don't have to be a believer to be a part of the Voices for Voices family, but we will continue to pray for everybody that they are as prosper, you and they are as prosperous as uh as can be, and that we have big dreams, we have small problems, and we're just helping people.
- 26:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Bye bye for now.
