- 4:44Speaker 2: Great job, man, way to kick off the sad. It's
- 4:47Speaker 2: gonna be a great sad. I have some notes written down.
- 4:50Speaker 2: It will be Ruth's birthday. I have a hack inside
- 4:53Speaker 2: of Ruth's birthday. Shout out my wife, Charo. I know
- 4:55Speaker 2: you're listening right now, sweet Art, with that little smile
- 4:58Speaker 2: on your.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Face, I could just kiss it.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Jill out of town till Thursday.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Who is it? We have a special gas Yeah, treadmill.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Other side, we had a fig We had a special
- 5:19Speaker 1: guest that just walked in the shop.
- 5:20Speaker 2: He sort of deliver our treadmill. Treadmill is going in
- 5:23Speaker 2: the shop that fits getting right, that's huge, dude.
- 5:27Speaker 3: It's that treadmill is like something that I can very
- 5:31Speaker 3: easily adopt.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Boom and thousand steps, Yes, got to get them. Yes,
- 5:37Speaker 2: and this was got you know, he's got the flat.
- 5:39Speaker 2: You walk on a flat, you can hit the incline
- 5:41Speaker 2: up to twelve. There might be a decline decline of
- 5:44Speaker 2: like three degrees, so you could walk even downhill if.
- 5:46Speaker 1: You need to.
- 5:47Speaker 3: What's the benefit there? Instance, So I'm pretty sure it
- 5:51Speaker 3: has a screen on it.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yeah, so my brain is telling me that you can
- 5:55Speaker 2: go on these hikes that the monitor has probably an
- 6:00Speaker 2: app inside that you can go walk a mountain in Colorado,
- 6:05Speaker 2: and that mountain in Colorado, if you go on that
- 6:07Speaker 2: hike would have inclines that go up and then at
- 6:09Speaker 2: some point you'll be walking downhill.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Just like climbing the mountain. You got to go down it.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You have the climb. Is that more of your quads
- 6:15Speaker 1: if you're downhill? That's a quad killer?
- 6:17Speaker 5: Right?
- 6:17Speaker 1: Okay?
- 6:18Speaker 5: Ye?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:19Speaker 2: But I feel like if you're going to like a
- 6:21Speaker 2: three percent decline on a treadmill, you're probably just taking
- 6:24Speaker 2: a nice little break, nice little brisk walk down Oh Okay,
- 6:26Speaker 2: So it's like I said, you've been elevating, You've been
- 6:28Speaker 2: you're huffing and puffing, you're even you're even having.
- 6:30Speaker 1: A hole because you're walking. Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Then you hit to the part of the workout where
- 6:33Speaker 2: you go down to the decline, You're like, thank God,
- 6:35Speaker 2: I get a little bit of a breather before I
- 6:37Speaker 2: got to climb this next hill.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Now I do I do have something that I just
- 6:41Speaker 3: thought of with the six oh one, the dad's number
- 6:43Speaker 3: that we brought up because last episode and I didn't
- 6:47Speaker 3: see a lot of people come to the defense of
- 6:49Speaker 3: the state of Mississippi. But I do want to give
- 6:52Speaker 3: a shout out to our six zh hundred dads area
- 6:56Speaker 3: code is a Mississippi area code. Really yeah, so shout
- 7:00Speaker 3: out Mississippi, dude.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Shout out Missippi.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I actually have a comment here from from Morgan and be.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Really good at podcasting. If you knew that he had
- 7:10Speaker 4: the comment for the thing you said that, we.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Would be really good. But this is from Morgan. She's
- 7:15Speaker 2: an empty sixer in Mississippi. Morgan Wallace put some respect
- 7:18Speaker 2: on Mississippi. Cry laughing emoji. You do use our ARIA
- 7:22Speaker 2: code for six and one. The dance here in Jackson, Mississippi.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I think we deserve a shout out. Love the pod
- 7:27Speaker 2: and I have enjoyed listening throughout my daughter, Wren's first
- 7:30Speaker 2: year of life. For birthdays coming up on April twenty ninth,
- 7:32Speaker 2: Happy birthday.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Happy birthday, So shout out to her and.
- 7:36Speaker 2: My husband Sheldon, who is also a loyal listener for
- 7:38Speaker 2: The Dad's and Bustle with the Boys.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Dude, shoutut Misissippi, shout out Jacksonsissippi. I've been there. That's
- 7:44Speaker 1: actually really really funny. You didn't know that, No, I.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Did not, Well, I knew I did not know that.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know that. That's hilarious.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Yeah, we do have a Mississippi area code.
- 7:52Speaker 1: That was on Spotify. I missed that one. I had
- 7:55Speaker 1: to look.
- 7:55Speaker 2: You had to look for some like underground voice that
- 8:00Speaker 2: was free and easy to offer.
- 8:02Speaker 1: So maybe that's what Mississippi office. Hey we got. We
- 8:06Speaker 1: got a landline here where we can get the voicemails
- 8:08Speaker 1: that come in. Hey is the number that nobody's have
- 8:11Speaker 1: a good Yeah, yes, it's Mississippi.
- 8:14Speaker 2: The six and one area codes up for grabs. Oh no,
- 8:17Speaker 2: it's been using twenty years.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Shout out Jackson. I've also been to Jackson. My dad
- 8:21Speaker 3: was born in Mississippi. Also, really yeah, that's unfortunate. Yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 3: he moved to Texas when he was three.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Nice. Yeah, nice, I'm joking about Missisi. We love Mississippi, Dude,
- 8:31Speaker 1: I'm not. He was born in Mississippi.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Mississippi's used for a lot of things. The Mississippi River,
- 8:37Speaker 2: Mississippi River, counting county, Mississippi one, Mississippi two, Mississippi three,
- 8:43Speaker 2: Mississippi blitzing in football games.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Hey, you have to get to five Mississippi before you
- 8:47Speaker 3: rush the quarterback.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Hey, that's good.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Also, probably one of the funnest how to spell it songs? Yeah,
- 8:54Speaker 3: am I SSI s s I pp?
- 8:56Speaker 1: What? Oh god? Fuck? All right? Hey, that's is that?
- 9:00Speaker 2: This is who's hosting these the dumb asses hosting for
- 9:04Speaker 2: the dads.
- 9:05Speaker 1: He you wouldn't be a good dad to be a
- 9:09Speaker 1: good day. Hey, Scarlet, you're doing a great job. What's
- 9:12Speaker 1: this last letter? Mississippi? Though, honey, it's a y, it's
- 9:18Speaker 1: not n Well what city are you from or outside of?
- 9:23Speaker 1: What's up? Where am I from?
- 9:25Speaker 6: Like?
- 9:25Speaker 1: Where was I born? What city? What major city do
- 9:28Speaker 1: you grow up? Outside of? Are you are you talking
- 9:33Speaker 1: about Saint Louis? Yeah?
- 9:34Speaker 2: What river is? Saint Luis on Mississippi River. That's what
- 9:37Speaker 2: I'm saying. There you go, I said, Mississippi River. That
- 9:40Speaker 2: was the first one I saw.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Ship. We're figuring it out. Was what was your first address?
- 9:51Speaker 1: Good times?
- 9:51Speaker 2: We got Roo's birthday was over the weekend. Yes, Jill
- 9:55Speaker 2: out of town. Yes, Easter egg hunts we did three
- 9:57Speaker 2: of them. Oh my god, who went a little? I
- 10:01Speaker 2: have nanit written down, nan it do we we got
- 10:06Speaker 2: nan it this week.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Are you saying you have nanit written down? Nana?
- 10:10Speaker 3: I just have the word nan it written We certainly
- 10:13Speaker 3: did a nanit custom social that we can talk a
- 10:16Speaker 3: little bit about the behind the scenes of.
- 10:18Speaker 2: We can do that later. Yeah, do that later. Man,
- 10:20Speaker 2: We had fun making a nan it custom social.
- 10:22Speaker 1: We did. Nan It's on board.
- 10:24Speaker 3: It's I've been using my this is true.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Nan It's been awesome with uh.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Unfortunately, really really unfortunately, my wife took Scarlett out of
- 10:35Speaker 3: town for Easter and this week that I'm currently talking.
- 10:38Speaker 1: O're okay, we'll get into it. We'll get into it,
- 10:42Speaker 1: into it.
- 10:43Speaker 3: However, I can check my nan it app, which has
- 10:45Speaker 3: been awesome because Jill took the nan It with their
- 10:48Speaker 3: two Texas. So from my bed in Nashville, as I'm
- 10:52Speaker 3: going to bed, I can pop open that little thing
- 10:54Speaker 3: and see my little bundle of joy sleeping, and it's
- 10:58Speaker 3: kind of sick. Dude, Like, I love checking in and
- 11:01Speaker 3: spying on her a little bit.
- 11:02Speaker 2: If you love checking in knowing you have zero responsibilities,
- 11:06Speaker 2: you don't have to do anything except look at your
- 11:08Speaker 2: phone and just smile, knowing that there are thousands of
- 11:12Speaker 2: miles away, hundreds of miles.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Hundreds of miles away, and audio works on that thing.
- 11:16Speaker 3: So I've been hearing Jill and the mother in law
- 11:18Speaker 3: talking in the mornings. They don't think I can hear,
- 11:20Speaker 3: but I've been oh, no, shit. Yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Last week when we started recording.
- 11:29Speaker 6: The Nana in the stream room from the custom social
- 11:32Speaker 6: that we filmed was on and uh, I started getting
- 11:35Speaker 6: alerts during the episode. COMP was in there like with
- 11:37Speaker 6: one on ones and I'm like, I hope he unplugs this,
- 11:39Speaker 6: and I think he did within like five or ten minutes.
- 11:42Speaker 6: But I was sitting there we already started recording, and
- 11:44Speaker 6: I was like, shit, hopefully did you listen in No,
- 11:48Speaker 6: I'm a good one Chef, I'm a good employee.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Knowing that Nana was in the stream room. Boss man's
- 11:53Speaker 2: doing one on ones. You sitting there, you could easily
- 11:56Speaker 2: just turn up that Nana in here the one on
- 11:58Speaker 2: ones he's talking about with guy.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Easily could. But I'm a man of balor. Yeah you
- 12:02Speaker 1: are good on you man, that's that's the leader of
- 12:04Speaker 1: Semen Team six a very quick segue.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Derek told me the story, and it's one of my
- 12:08Speaker 3: favorite stories of Chef. I don't know if I've spoken
- 12:11Speaker 3: about it in front of him, but one day I
- 12:13Speaker 3: was sick and I could have come into the office
- 12:16Speaker 3: and I had to edit from home, and uh, was
- 12:20Speaker 3: it Jeremy that was.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Mess with Chef, basically saying to Chef like, oh, sure,
- 12:24Speaker 4: I just can't come into work, Like he doesn't want
- 12:26Speaker 4: to work here anymore.
- 12:27Speaker 1: That's weird.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Oh and you have to do all of his edits
- 12:30Speaker 3: because he's sick, Like, are you sure he's even sick?
- 12:33Speaker 3: And apparently Chef did not find that joke funny at
- 12:37Speaker 3: all and came to my defense in a real way.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Was like, Sherman Young would never do that.
- 12:44Speaker 1: He is sick.
- 12:45Speaker 3: I know for a fact he would be here right now.
- 12:48Speaker 3: If he felt good, that's that's a Semen team, six
- 12:51Speaker 3: of six, that's got your beds riding for your boys.
- 12:54Speaker 1: That's riding for your bed rid. Thank you. That's an
- 12:57Speaker 1: ongoing bit. I love high roading Clumba.
- 12:59Speaker 6: Any time I get it chance, he swings really low,
- 13:01Speaker 6: I go as high as possible. I hope he listens
- 13:04Speaker 6: this too, and if he doesn't, I'll make fun of
- 13:06Speaker 6: him for it. But Clump, for people that know Clump
- 13:09Speaker 6: is the office troll. And I've learned that the way
- 13:11Speaker 6: to beat the office troll is to take everything very
- 13:13Speaker 6: literal and then high road every single step you get.
- 13:16Speaker 1: And he doesn't know what to do. It's really funny.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Clump is also the boss. He's also the boss. My
- 13:21Speaker 1: boss also the boss, and you high rode his ass
- 13:24Speaker 1: every day. Sherman Young would never get sitting over here, Shiram.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Do you see how I'm just circling? Yeah? What's going on?
- 13:31Speaker 1: I was worked up before I came into the shop.
- 13:34Speaker 1: What happened?
- 13:35Speaker 2: I came across a video on X and this is
- 13:40Speaker 2: this is to me. I'll send you this tweet so
- 13:42Speaker 2: you can put it up, Jeff. But from see this
- 13:45Speaker 2: is from my CBS Mornings. It's about the sixteen year old.
- 13:48Speaker 2: What got me worked up is knowing that he he
- 13:52Speaker 2: was talking about how he was having a conversation with
- 13:54Speaker 2: his parents and he told his dad that I'm gonna
- 13:56Speaker 2: do this whether you like it or not. It's a
- 13:57Speaker 2: sixteen year old kid that's quote a Now, it's an
- 14:00Speaker 2: interview that CBS Mornings did with a sixteen year old
- 14:03Speaker 2: that's essentially doing steroids because he looks maxing. You know
- 14:07Speaker 2: how all these phases of flat s killer yeah are
- 14:11Speaker 2: coming in are kind of just infiltrating the youth. All
- 14:15Speaker 2: the trends they usually do. Keep your court is all
- 14:17Speaker 2: low yeah. But this kid to quote because there's a video.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I don't know if we can if we're allowed to
- 14:22Speaker 2: play the video, but it's this interview with this kid
- 14:24Speaker 2: and he's quoted as if I have a heart attack
- 14:27Speaker 2: at thirty, I have a heart attack. One sixteen year
- 14:29Speaker 2: old told CBS News that he was starting that he
- 14:32Speaker 2: started taking a steroid known as Trend, which was developed
- 14:35Speaker 2: for Livestock, after seeing Jim influencers participating in the looks
- 14:39Speaker 2: maxing trend on social media.
- 14:42Speaker 1: And it's like this deep dive interview. They do it.
- 14:47Speaker 1: It's six and a half minutes long.
- 14:49Speaker 2: This kid was chubby and this and that, and he
- 14:51Speaker 2: just started doing steroids because he wanted to.
- 14:54Speaker 1: He wasn't getting.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Girls looked, he was fat, he was short. He just
- 14:58Speaker 2: didn't look like or feel like a man. So he
- 15:00Speaker 2: started to do it. He started doing steroids, and he's jacked.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Now he's doing all the things well.
- 15:04Speaker 1: And steroids will do.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Steroids do help with doing that. You do need some
- 15:07Speaker 2: discipline behind it. He does seem like he's very diswinted
- 15:09Speaker 2: doing this. If I give him any type of flowers
- 15:12Speaker 2: of discipline, he is doing something every day, okay, but
- 15:16Speaker 2: his thought behind it is so surface level of this
- 15:19Speaker 2: look maxing bullshit that he's taking steroids to do so.
- 15:23Speaker 2: And this is a steroid that's used for livestock like
- 15:26Speaker 2: and not good for your body. He's probably getting it
- 15:30Speaker 2: from Mexico.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I'm assuming it was. I don't know.
- 15:33Speaker 2: I got two worked up because I quote tweeted it.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Oh gosh, because again I'm just thinking like this to
- 15:39Speaker 2: me is what happens when there's not a strong foundation
- 15:41Speaker 2: at home. And I'm dead ass serious, like this is
- 15:44Speaker 2: no we laugh to matic the looks Max. We could
- 15:47Speaker 2: laugh about all we want, but it does, in a
- 15:48Speaker 2: way kind of piss me off because you just see
- 15:51Speaker 2: the domino effect when there's not a strong foundation at
- 15:54Speaker 2: home for this young man. Because I'm looking at this
- 15:56Speaker 2: young man and just service level reaction. If this was
- 15:58Speaker 2: my son, I would whoop his ass. But then when
- 16:01Speaker 2: you go deeper, I'm thinking it wouldn't. I don't even
- 16:04Speaker 2: feel like it would ever get to that point because
- 16:07Speaker 2: you're able to communicate with your son, or there's like
- 16:09Speaker 2: this healthy fear that he would have, or respect that
- 16:12Speaker 2: he would have, or obedience that he would have to
- 16:14Speaker 2: where you're truly educating him on what the problem with
- 16:17Speaker 2: this issue is. And also let's not get stop getting
- 16:20Speaker 2: caught up about what everybody's doing on social media and
- 16:22Speaker 2: what everybody's doing at school. Let's look a little bit
- 16:24Speaker 2: deeper what the issue is. Because all this discipline and
- 16:26Speaker 2: structure that you have daily that is phenomenal, It's the
- 16:31Speaker 2: obstacle is the way you are taking the path the
- 16:34Speaker 2: road less taken.
- 16:36Speaker 1: You can get there one day. Obviously, steroids do is
- 16:38Speaker 1: something different to you, but you're doing it for all
- 16:40Speaker 1: the wrong fucking reasons and the fact, he said, like
- 16:43Speaker 1: he's in the interview and he sat there, He's like
- 16:45Speaker 1: he was talking to his dad and he was like,
- 16:48Speaker 1: his dad doesn't like it. His dad said he doesn't
- 16:50Speaker 1: want him to do it, and he said, he basically
- 16:52Speaker 1: communicated with his dad and we can I'm just gonna
- 16:56Speaker 1: find this cut through this the part to where I'm
- 16:58Speaker 1: able to just play this little part.
- 17:00Speaker 5: My dad isn't too supportive of it, and he was
- 17:03Speaker 5: very like, like, what are you doing to yourself?
- 17:05Speaker 1: Like You're gonna hurt yourself. He's just like great for me.
- 17:08Speaker 7: I explained to him everything, told him like, hey, like I'm.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Doing this regardless.
- 17:12Speaker 5: Basically, even if you tell me not to do it,
- 17:16Speaker 5: I'm still gonna do it.
- 17:17Speaker 6: So if I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it
- 17:19Speaker 6: like in the.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Safest way possible. I just want you to know that.
- 17:21Speaker 8: I mean, like, I look, buddy, if I'm gonna do
- 17:27Speaker 8: if I'm gonna do Heroin like just now, I'm gonna
- 17:30Speaker 8: do it in the safest way possible.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Like I'm gonna do all my research and it's something
- 17:35Speaker 3: that i want to do, I'm gonna do it. I
- 17:37Speaker 3: know that steroids isn't up there with it, but with heroin,
- 17:41Speaker 3: but just.
- 17:44Speaker 1: It's crazy, and just.
- 17:47Speaker 2: The fact that he like thinking his dad's not supportive
- 17:50Speaker 2: of it, he doesn't want him to do it. I'm
- 17:52Speaker 2: trying to put myself in that dad shoes, and then
- 17:54Speaker 2: my son is telling me x y and Z and
- 17:55Speaker 2: then I also try to put myself in the shoes
- 17:57Speaker 2: of the sixteen year old. Let's go back to sixteen
- 17:59Speaker 2: year old will will he see if I had this
- 18:02Speaker 2: rebellious type of urge to go against something my parents
- 18:06Speaker 2: felt strongly about, Like if I was if I was
- 18:08Speaker 2: trying to do that dog with my with my parents,
- 18:10Speaker 2: with my dad, bro, they would have whooped my.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Ass for trying.
- 18:15Speaker 2: And there would be okay, they wouldn't whoop my ass,
- 18:18Speaker 2: but my dad if I pushed and rebelled and got
- 18:20Speaker 2: to the point of, hey, I'm gonna do it whether
- 18:23Speaker 2: you like it or not, my dad would have whooped
- 18:26Speaker 2: my ass.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Yeah, because you're you're you're being disobedient.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yes, And something that he was like a he was
- 18:32Speaker 2: like an amateur bodybuilder, Like he worked out, he did
- 18:34Speaker 2: all the things, so he would have knowledge in this
- 18:36Speaker 2: to work. He would not only have a strong opinion
- 18:38Speaker 2: but if I if I even had the kahonas to
- 18:41Speaker 2: say I'm gonna do this whether you like it or not,
- 18:44Speaker 2: that I can't even bring myself even to my sixteen
- 18:48Speaker 2: year old state of mind to think that I would
- 18:50Speaker 2: have the courage to say something like that because of
- 18:53Speaker 2: that fear that you do have for your old man.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Like it would never get to that point. But if
- 18:57Speaker 2: it did, like I put up a funny response back
- 19:03Speaker 2: uh the look maxing I would have received from my
- 19:05Speaker 2: old man saying.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it whether you like it or not. Buddy,
- 19:09Speaker 1: he'd say, I'll show you what the fuck look maxing is,
- 19:11Speaker 1: and he fucked me up.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I was about to say the quote unquote fear of
- 19:15Speaker 3: God that was in as a teenager.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Would it deterred that? My my main note?
- 19:22Speaker 3: And I like I do not know enough about Clovicular
- 19:26Speaker 3: as an individual.
- 19:27Speaker 1: He's like the person that's he's.
- 19:28Speaker 2: That influencer that does like the the in real life
- 19:31Speaker 2: streaming or something.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Yes, I RL streaming. He's very much championed the looks maxing.
- 19:36Speaker 3: He's championed like a lot of substance, like he'll he'll
- 19:39Speaker 3: take a meth uh for like stimulants and dieting and
- 19:45Speaker 3: like a bunch of crazy stuff regardless of clovicular like
- 19:49Speaker 3: push that to the side. This is a tale as
- 19:52Speaker 3: old as time of every single generation, and we're now
- 19:57Speaker 3: we're now the parents. It's kind of crazy, like being
- 19:59Speaker 3: on the side where it's like.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Like, hey, what the hell are the kids doing?
- 20:03Speaker 3: Because back in the day it was rock and roll
- 20:05Speaker 3: and dancing and wearing skirts and you know, my kid,
- 20:08Speaker 3: you know blah blah blah. Yeah, very different from taking steroids.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Very different. But it is kind of like a like
- 20:16Speaker 3: who are your kids idolizing Slash? What kind of standard
- 20:22Speaker 3: or what kind of life are you living that they
- 20:23Speaker 3: would want to idolize, Like what's in front of them
- 20:27Speaker 3: around the house, being their mom or their dad, whether
- 20:30Speaker 3: it's a girl or a boy.
- 20:32Speaker 1: And the fact that.
- 20:33Speaker 3: They are more willing to idolize and replicate a complete
- 20:38Speaker 3: stranger on the internet over somebody that knows them very
- 20:42Speaker 3: well and knows what's best for them Slash that they
- 20:45Speaker 3: love and see every day, Like it kind of shows
- 20:48Speaker 3: the importance of not only setting standards, but like setting
- 20:54Speaker 3: an example and building that relationship with your kiddo. It
- 20:58Speaker 3: sounds like this kid was just kind of.
- 21:01Speaker 1: He was floating in the ether.
- 21:03Speaker 3: If he's got to latch onto that, Yeah, you know
- 21:05Speaker 3: what I mean, Like he was pretty directionless. If that's
- 21:09Speaker 3: like right where he's going, right, I see what you're saying.
- 21:14Speaker 3: I get what you're saying, because obviously the saying my
- 21:16Speaker 3: dad would fuck me up. There's some like some humor
- 21:20Speaker 3: I'm having in that, but knowing that that would have
- 21:22Speaker 3: been like a real reality, but also it would have
- 21:25Speaker 3: never gotten to that point with us to where I'm
- 21:28Speaker 3: going against something that my parents feel strongly about. Not
- 21:32Speaker 3: because there's anything that I have, I just now that
- 21:34Speaker 3: I'm thirty six, now that I have a couple of
- 21:36Speaker 3: kiddos of my own, Now that I look back or
- 21:39Speaker 3: laughter back my old man would have did this to me,
- 21:41Speaker 3: It's almost like, yeah, like you see why parents have
- 21:45Speaker 3: to be firm and strong in protecting their child's like
- 21:50Speaker 3: innocence for as long as you can, because you could
- 21:53Speaker 3: get your kids could get off the path to idolize
- 21:56Speaker 3: these certain individuals. And I don't know how much the
- 21:59Speaker 3: parents are involved around and I'm not gonna say they're not.
- 22:01Speaker 3: I don't like I want to Like when he's doing
- 22:03Speaker 3: the interview, I'm seeing that they're in a nicer house
- 22:06Speaker 3: or this and that. So I'm just curious of how
- 22:08Speaker 3: involved in how much everything kind of goes on and
- 22:10Speaker 3: plays into this, because to me, it just makes me
- 22:12Speaker 3: think of this is this can be something that happens
- 22:16Speaker 3: if you don't have that strong foundation connection and everything
- 22:19Speaker 3: with your kiddos, because I'm like, man, it's a fear
- 22:22Speaker 3: of dude, I hope there's never a conference.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Obviously, this is steroids. This is a masculine thing and
- 22:28Speaker 2: for the boys and all that type of stuff. But
- 22:30Speaker 2: even on the girls version, if I'm not getting into
- 22:32Speaker 2: a spot to where like Rue or Scottie is in this,
- 22:35Speaker 2: I'm sure they'll have rebellious phases, yes, but you want
- 22:38Speaker 2: to keep their thumb on them so much to where
- 22:40Speaker 2: it never gets to a point of where they feel
- 22:42Speaker 2: like I'm gonna do something whether you like it or not.
- 22:44Speaker 2: And them I'm so handcuffed mentally as a parent of
- 22:47Speaker 2: you almost have to let this happen because what are
- 22:50Speaker 2: you gonna do? Like, dude, anytime I like got in
- 22:53Speaker 2: a had a like a rebellious moment of I'm gonna
- 22:57Speaker 2: run away from home or I'm going to do something
- 23:00Speaker 2: that's way out of character, way out of way, out
- 23:02Speaker 2: of left field. My mom would literally look at me
- 23:05Speaker 2: and say, go, I will help you pack your bags
- 23:08Speaker 2: and get up from her chair and start going to
- 23:10Speaker 2: my room, and hey, which clothes do you want to take?
- 23:12Speaker 2: And then some like fear sets in, Like I'm younger
- 23:15Speaker 2: at this point, I'm not sixteen, but it's almost like
- 23:20Speaker 2: you almost have to be ready to cut them off. Hey,
- 23:23Speaker 2: whatever you think you're trying to do, I will help
- 23:26Speaker 2: you do that. And there's a point that obviously, as
- 23:28Speaker 2: a parent, you don't want that to happen, but you
- 23:30Speaker 2: almost have to position yourself in a way of I'm like,
- 23:33Speaker 2: I will cut you off from everything going.
- 23:35Speaker 1: On, Like, you live in our house.
- 23:36Speaker 2: We pay the bills, we pay your tuition, we pay
- 23:40Speaker 2: everything for you to live in function. All that's gonna Hey,
- 23:42Speaker 2: give me your phone, like all this stuff's gonna wait.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Go go ahead, go go operate on your own, see
- 23:47Speaker 2: how far it takes you. But knowing that the bond
- 23:50Speaker 2: and the love and everything is so strong, Like ultimately
- 23:54Speaker 2: I know what I'm trying to think, Like if I'm
- 23:56Speaker 2: a young kid and I'm having a rebellious moment to
- 23:59Speaker 2: where I'm gonna do X, Y and Z.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I think I'm strong enough to like, I'm going to
- 24:02Speaker 1: stand up to my parents right now. Yeah.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah, But behind it as such has been such intention, love, bond, connection, protection,
- 24:10Speaker 2: safety that damn they're really ready to just throw me
- 24:15Speaker 2: out like that, to where.
- 24:15Speaker 1: There's almost the fear kicks in.
- 24:17Speaker 2: You stay and then you kind of got them as
- 24:20Speaker 2: a parent back where you want them, not in like
- 24:22Speaker 2: a manipulative, negotiative type of way, but that's essentially what
- 24:26Speaker 2: it is. But if you're bonding, the foundation's not strong.
- 24:29Speaker 2: It's almost like the kid will sit there and throw
- 24:31Speaker 2: the gill back at you. You never do this, you
- 24:33Speaker 2: never do that. Blah blah blah. Okay, I will do
- 24:34Speaker 2: this all on my own. They go off and try
- 24:36Speaker 2: to do it on their own, and then they're telling
- 24:37Speaker 2: all their friends, Yeah, I'm doing X, Y and Z.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I'm kind of homeless right now, or I'm gonna go
- 24:41Speaker 2: stay with my buddies. I'm like, man, what my parents
- 24:43Speaker 2: did to me wrong? And YadA, YadA, YadA. This is
- 24:48Speaker 2: such a longer, more in depth conversation. I'm kind of
- 24:51Speaker 2: just spitting things out into the ether right now.
- 24:53Speaker 3: You're fine, and again to like bring it back to
- 24:57Speaker 3: a more concrete situation of like you're my dad.
- 25:01Speaker 1: In this example, I am your son.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Imagine all the steps that I have to take to
- 25:07Speaker 3: your blind eye to get illegal prescribed steroids. Have a
- 25:15Speaker 3: friend group or somebody that I interact with that's very
- 25:19Speaker 3: pro this getting out of the house and you know,
- 25:23Speaker 3: going to the gym and injecting myself with steroids and
- 25:26Speaker 3: blah blah blah. Like there's a lot of absence or
- 25:30Speaker 3: blind eye that you would have to give for me
- 25:32Speaker 3: to even get to those steps.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
- 25:35Speaker 3: Yeah, Like it's not very seldom do a does a
- 25:40Speaker 3: kid wake up and go, you know what, dude, I'm
- 25:41Speaker 3: gonna start juicing. I'm gonna start juicing today, and like
- 25:45Speaker 3: I want girls to like me more. I want this
- 25:49Speaker 3: to blah blah blah, and like the answer is steroids.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Like this kid has been searching for an answer for
- 25:55Speaker 3: quite a while, and it seems like no structure in
- 26:00Speaker 3: answers were really being thrown his way at home.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Toy's getting the.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Answer from the influencers from the internet versus having an
- 26:08Speaker 2: answers or a safety to talk about it at home.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Boom or your parents have such a pulse on you tour,
- 26:14Speaker 2: maybe they noticed something or the first couple.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Of weeks, Hey boy, yeah, yeah, Hey buddy, I saw
- 26:18Speaker 1: that you're working out. Dude, that's awesome.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Would you want to you know, hey, I need to
- 26:23Speaker 3: get in a little bit of better shape too. Maybe
- 26:25Speaker 3: we could start going to the gym like.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Stuff like that. What's been on your mind? What's been
- 26:28Speaker 1: on your mind? Now we're talking, because think.
- 26:31Speaker 2: About it from the terms of this just seeing this,
- 26:34Speaker 2: and again we're assuming a bunch of stuff, but you
- 26:38Speaker 2: see this video. Yeah, if dad's having a hard time,
- 26:41Speaker 2: and there was, and he's probably thinking back of where did.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Things go wrong?
- 26:47Speaker 2: Now that you're here, you have to accept the reality
- 26:50Speaker 2: that is currently happening. Think of all the steps that
- 26:52Speaker 2: you now have to take as a parent to carefully
- 26:57Speaker 2: build back all these bridges, to speak to them or
- 27:00Speaker 2: to get to them in a way that they are
- 27:02Speaker 2: now listening. It's going to take so much longer now
- 27:05Speaker 2: on the back end, or on this point moving forward,
- 27:08Speaker 2: because it wasn't if you're able to look at yourself
- 27:10Speaker 2: that closely as a parent to know I didn't do
- 27:13Speaker 2: the necessary things to where now it got to this
- 27:15Speaker 2: point and then you get into the regretful stage. I
- 27:18Speaker 2: wish I would have done this. I wish I would
- 27:20Speaker 2: have done that.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Well, are you going to change it now now that
- 27:22Speaker 1: you see that there is a massive problem that you're
- 27:24Speaker 1: seeing in your household, that you are with your boy
- 27:27Speaker 1: and you are nervous about his health And say, the
- 27:29Speaker 1: kid just said if I die at thirty, I die
- 27:31Speaker 1: at thirty, like he's Ivan Drago and Rocky. If I
- 27:35Speaker 1: have a heart attack, if we die, we die, like
- 27:41Speaker 1: he's to the point where he's saying that in an
- 27:43Speaker 1: interview because I believe in looksmaxing, I believe in.
- 27:48Speaker 3: That is capital t truth to him. It's almost a
- 27:50Speaker 3: religion at this point. Yeah, a full buy in. And
- 27:54Speaker 3: I'll say this another great healthy way. I sound like
- 27:58Speaker 3: a therapist right now, but I feel like a great
- 28:00Speaker 3: healthy way to show that you care for your kid
- 28:04Speaker 3: to also be able to monitor them, keep tabs on
- 28:09Speaker 3: them is showing interest and things that just kind of
- 28:12Speaker 3: come out of nowhere so that you can kind of
- 28:15Speaker 3: know the direction of where it's going. Like, yeah, I
- 28:19Speaker 3: loved music as a.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Kid and.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Was, you know, doing piano and but really hated the
- 28:27Speaker 3: piano lessons and my mom instead of you know, hey, Mom,
- 28:30Speaker 3: I want to quit piano. What instrument do you really
- 28:33Speaker 3: want to play? You don't like piano? What instrument do
- 28:37Speaker 3: you want to play? I was like, well, I really
- 28:38Speaker 3: I want to play the drums. Awesome, we're going to
- 28:41Speaker 3: do this where you're going to do stuff around the house.
- 28:44Speaker 3: You're gonna get money for a drum set, and let's
- 28:46Speaker 3: get you some drum lessons so you can learn how
- 28:48Speaker 3: to drum.
- 28:48Speaker 1: I was like, hey, that's a I like that idea.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Let's do that.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I did drum lessons for like four years. When jerking
- 28:56Speaker 3: came out, the teaching how to jerk brother, I got
- 29:00Speaker 3: the high top bands, I got the skinny jeans, saving
- 29:04Speaker 3: up money for it, going to the mall with your mom.
- 29:07Speaker 3: I got it, Mom, I gotta wear this stuff. And
- 29:10Speaker 3: had cardboard boxes out in our driveway practicing one handed
- 29:15Speaker 3: like handstand like b.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Boy style of ding.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, And my mom's sitting there every step of
- 29:21Speaker 3: the way going oh yeah, that's good. Oh Sherman, you're
- 29:24Speaker 3: getting so much better at it. And it's like she's
- 29:27Speaker 3: on fully, like you know, buying me these things are
- 29:30Speaker 3: like telling me to go practice jerking the dance uff.
- 29:34Speaker 3: But she's showing interest enough to have a pulse on
- 29:37Speaker 3: me of like, this is something that Sherman's into. Hey, Sherman,
- 29:41Speaker 3: would you want to take dance lessons? I was like, Mom,
- 29:43Speaker 3: you're great. That's like, no, that's the dumbest.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Thing in the world.
- 29:46Speaker 3: That means embarrassing. I'm not doing that. Yeah, but like
- 29:49Speaker 3: she was there every step of the way to see
- 29:51Speaker 3: where that tangent would go. I know that's very different
- 29:55Speaker 3: from steroids, but it like when you have a pulse
- 29:59Speaker 3: on your kids.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you're you're right, bro. Like it's not like.
- 30:05Speaker 2: We woke up today you want to come in and
- 30:07Speaker 2: like shame this video this kid, or or saying things
- 30:13Speaker 2: about this family.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 30:15Speaker 2: And obviously we sit there now we have our opinions
- 30:17Speaker 2: or we say our things about the video. But ultimately
- 30:20Speaker 2: it's like when I'm sitting there watching this video on
- 30:21Speaker 2: my truck before I come into the shop, to me,
- 30:24Speaker 2: it's like it's a these are things of fears you have.
- 30:27Speaker 1: As parents of Like, God, I hope he doesn't get.
- 30:30Speaker 2: To this point one day with my kiddos when they
- 30:32Speaker 2: grow up and they become teenagers, and it just shows
- 30:35Speaker 2: me that if you you aren't intentional about how you
- 30:38Speaker 2: move with the majority of things in your kids' lives,
- 30:42Speaker 2: like this is a ripple effect that could take place
- 30:44Speaker 2: and happen.
- 30:45Speaker 1: It's not like, hey, just naturally these things are.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yeah, some little blips on the radar are going to
- 30:49Speaker 2: happen throughout the course of all the parenthood.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Like that's that's a fact.
- 30:53Speaker 2: But to think like your kicking go fully off the
- 30:57Speaker 2: rails and do this just spontaneously out of nowhere, I'm
- 31:00Speaker 2: I'm just saying that, that's to me, I'm calling bullshit,
- 31:03Speaker 2: because yeah, I'm thinking you can do so many different
- 31:05Speaker 2: foundational things.
- 31:06Speaker 1: To where it honestly never even gets to this point. Yeah,
- 31:09Speaker 1: there was no pulse on the kid because I see
- 31:10Speaker 1: and I reacted. My god, I would beat my son's
- 31:12Speaker 1: ass if this.
- 31:13Speaker 2: And then it's like, okay, well, let's peel back, let's
- 31:15Speaker 2: go through all the things of like the regret you
- 31:18Speaker 2: probably feel on the reaction of just wanting to fight him,
- 31:22Speaker 2: and'll be like, bro, what are you doing right now?
- 31:24Speaker 2: This is terrible for you. This is unhealthy. Like we've
- 31:27Speaker 2: been around the park. I've been around the park a
- 31:28Speaker 2: few times and know how bad this is for you. No,
- 31:30Speaker 2: you're not going to do this, But do you have
- 31:32Speaker 2: such a strong relationship with them to whether they're actually
- 31:35Speaker 2: hearing it or Oh, this is the first time my
- 31:36Speaker 2: dad's ever taken interest in my life.
- 31:39Speaker 3: And see where that's where we come in now is
- 31:43Speaker 3: where the shit has hit the fan, and how your
- 31:48Speaker 3: mom was able to go, Okay, let's see how you
- 31:51Speaker 3: do on your own. She's been there every step of
- 31:54Speaker 3: the way with you, and she knows how much she
- 31:56Speaker 3: needs you, how much you need her.
- 31:58Speaker 1: The foundation that y'all have.
- 32:00Speaker 3: The realization that you'll have in your head when you
- 32:02Speaker 3: get to the end of the driveway with your overnight
- 32:05Speaker 3: bags and you're like, what the fuck.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Am I doing? You know what I mean to where
- 32:11Speaker 1: he doesn't have that.
- 32:12Speaker 3: So when kiddo is going, he's like, oh shit, like
- 32:17Speaker 3: he really will go because I haven't. I've been so
- 32:20Speaker 3: out here. He truly doesn't need me and is on
- 32:24Speaker 3: this path himself. So now I have to like come
- 32:27Speaker 3: in and I'll help in any way. Oh, you need
- 32:29Speaker 3: money for the steroids. Here's some money for the steroids.
- 32:32Speaker 3: As long as I'm still in your life and you're
- 32:35Speaker 3: grasping for straws.
- 32:36Speaker 2: At that point, it's too late, yeah, well said, well said,
- 32:39Speaker 2: because his his goal and safety and vision is now,
- 32:43Speaker 2: Like well, not is now, but it has been tied
- 32:46Speaker 2: to like social media. Yeah, like the external all the
- 32:50Speaker 2: external things that he's feeding his mind with.
- 32:52Speaker 3: These guys on my computer and on my phone one
- 32:56Speaker 3: have my back more than my dad does.
- 33:00Speaker 1: That is that is his mindset right now. These guys
- 33:02Speaker 1: will tell me the way these and my dad is
- 33:05Speaker 1: such a fill in the blank that these guys aren't.
- 33:09Speaker 1: These guys are the man.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and that's gonna that's gonna happen a million
- 33:15Speaker 3: times over. Of like to bring it back to me again,
- 33:18Speaker 3: of like I thought the guys on YouTube in the
- 33:23Speaker 3: hood doing these like teach me how to jerk videos
- 33:25Speaker 3: were the coal students on planet Earth, and I wanted
- 33:28Speaker 3: to emulate that so bad. You with WWE like those guys,
- 33:33Speaker 3: You're like, hell yeah, dude, Like these guys got it
- 33:35Speaker 3: figured out. Every kid's gonna have their idols and like
- 33:40Speaker 3: being able to attach yourself to your kiddo and support
- 33:44Speaker 3: them in those endeavors of drum lessons, karate ballet, Jim Jim,
- 33:51Speaker 3: like whatever, it is like being alongside them, for it
- 33:57Speaker 3: is like the healthiest way to navigate that.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Good not an expert nine months old, I don't know
- 34:07Speaker 3: what I'm talking about.
- 34:08Speaker 1: She looks Maxes. Scarlet does looks Max however in a
- 34:13Speaker 1: healthy way, in a healthy and healthy way. She's been
- 34:16Speaker 1: wearing sunglasses recently. Have we talked about this? How adorable
- 34:20Speaker 1: or sunglasses? Oh, dude, and Scarlet loves the sunglasses. Loves them.
- 34:26Speaker 1: There's dude, it's so fun throwing sunglasses on them.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Oh and I picked out this outbit dude, and chef
- 34:33Speaker 3: has the assets. We This is my crack a cold one, dude,
- 34:38Speaker 3: crack it open, ollipop, Thank you all, Thank you, Shirley Temple.
- 34:42Speaker 1: There's an actual way crack it. Speak it.
- 34:45Speaker 3: And not to give you extra work on the back end, Chef,
- 34:49Speaker 3: but this is my super crack of the cold one,
- 34:52Speaker 3: three thousand, thousand thousand.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Don't worry for this one. I will be adding in.
- 34:56Speaker 3: This is a major crack a cold one because we
- 35:00Speaker 3: did have We went to stokehouse that has spelled h
- 35:04Speaker 3: a U s h the German stuckhoffs uh spelling and
- 35:09Speaker 3: it's a brewery slash barbecue place, and we did a
- 35:11Speaker 3: little PT six get together with Chef and Deeke and
- 35:14Speaker 3: myself and I brought Scarlet along.
- 35:17Speaker 1: It Wasth's birthday PT friendship meet up. I know Deek
- 35:23Speaker 1: was busting my balls about a friend's lunch that I missed,
- 35:26Speaker 1: and now I'm hearing that it's it was a PT
- 35:28Speaker 1: six that lunch.
- 35:31Speaker 4: It was a sponsored ollipop Nana cam Wayfair.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Boys know each other. Bring your daughter? Yes, we all
- 35:38Speaker 1: we all have the safety glass gable. You don't like
- 35:41Speaker 1: these And just to be clear, this happened on Friday.
- 35:46Speaker 1: This happened on Friday, your daughter's birthday. Just to help you,
- 35:51Speaker 1: we just did.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Yes, And uh, dude, it's really my krackticle. One is
- 35:57Speaker 3: I love that I've gotten to a place with Scarlet.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Through the challenges that I've received from Jill, from yourself,
- 36:07Speaker 3: from other friends that have just lived life with their
- 36:12Speaker 3: I'm talking infancy kiddos, like getting out of the house
- 36:16Speaker 3: with your little ones. I've now gotten to a place
- 36:19Speaker 3: where I'm like, I'm going to Stokehouse with these guys,
- 36:23Speaker 3: to this brewery, no questions asked. I'm bringing Scarlet. What
- 36:27Speaker 3: do I need? I need her bag. Oh man, she's
- 36:30Speaker 3: been loving sunglasses. She has those sunglasses that are kind
- 36:33Speaker 3: of like a burnt orange color, and she's got this
- 36:36Speaker 3: little outfit I could throw on her. Mom's gonna love that.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I'll throw in that outfit with the sunglasses. Oh, I'll
- 36:42Speaker 3: get the high chair table that connects to the table.
- 36:45Speaker 3: It's gonna be easy. I know she loves mac and cheese.
- 36:49Speaker 3: Do they have mac and cheese? Deeks like yeah, I'm
- 36:51Speaker 3: pretty sure. Great, then this is gonna be an awesome endeavor.
- 36:54Speaker 3: We had some adult bevies. We're just having a time,
- 36:58Speaker 3: and there was like zero stress to that situation, and
- 37:04Speaker 3: like not the pride, but just like the joy that
- 37:07Speaker 3: I had of like walking in with my girl, like
- 37:10Speaker 3: right there and everybody in the little brewery that wasn't
- 37:14Speaker 3: associated with us seeing her and like seeing their little
- 37:16Speaker 3: face of like.
- 37:18Speaker 1: My god, oh my god. And you're like, yeah, dude,
- 37:22Speaker 1: I got this cute kid, and like she's out in
- 37:24Speaker 1: the world and we're living life, and like it was
- 37:27Speaker 1: just awesome, dude. That's why it's a super mega krackicle
- 37:30Speaker 1: one three thousand. I love that.
- 37:33Speaker 2: And bonus, were you about to cry? Don't you see
- 37:37Speaker 2: the shine on his eyes.
- 37:40Speaker 3: The shine, for sure, but not the not.
- 37:43Speaker 1: This doesn't fully get there like you're composed.
- 37:46Speaker 2: It's like the composure you have when tears are about
- 37:49Speaker 2: to come.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Yes, got you.
- 37:52Speaker 3: That muscle has been very much worked out in flex
- 37:56Speaker 3: to where like I didn't have that before the show.
- 38:00Speaker 3: This show has vastly helped me to not just go
- 38:03Speaker 3: into crime out, I cried, quoting Hardball. Dude, don't forget
- 38:09Speaker 3: about that.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Dude, the story the cracker Cole won. That fires me up.
- 38:14Speaker 2: You should be proud man, because I do. I feel
- 38:16Speaker 2: like and we know this. When you're a new parent,
- 38:19Speaker 2: a lot of times you feel so tied and locked
- 38:21Speaker 2: to the structure and the scheduling of your kids to
- 38:24Speaker 2: where your kids because they do your kids ultimately decide,
- 38:27Speaker 2: like what your decisions are going to be with everybody. Yes,
- 38:30Speaker 2: but a lot of times you're so tied to they
- 38:33Speaker 2: have to do naps, Like obviously naps, they should be
- 38:37Speaker 2: doing naps, but you know people like they have to
- 38:39Speaker 2: nap in the crib, They have to nap at home.
- 38:41Speaker 2: It has to be from one to three, it has
- 38:43Speaker 2: to be they have to eat their lunch at this time.
- 38:45Speaker 2: It has to be this meal. It can't be a
- 38:47Speaker 2: meal on the go.
- 38:47Speaker 3: It has to be a bottle casts a bottle.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Yeah, Like some things you have, you're non negotiables that
- 38:53Speaker 2: you kind of prepare for when you leave the door
- 38:55Speaker 2: and go out of the house. But just the freedom
- 38:57Speaker 2: that you where I'm like, dude, you should be super
- 38:59Speaker 2: proud the freedom that you have of just knowing I
- 39:02Speaker 2: am going to go to lunch with the boys like
- 39:04Speaker 2: you guys pick a time. All this time kind of
- 39:06Speaker 2: goes in line where it kind of leaks into what
- 39:09Speaker 2: naptime would be or what nap time is going to be,
- 39:12Speaker 2: and then the thought of Li's like, dude, I'm bringing
- 39:14Speaker 2: the kiddoh, or I'm bringing the kiddos and they'll be
- 39:17Speaker 2: able to nap a little bit on the in the
- 39:18Speaker 2: car if that, if need be, What are all the
- 39:21Speaker 2: things I need to bring because we're going to go
- 39:22Speaker 2: and get out and they're going to be a part
- 39:24Speaker 2: of my world versus me just being so immersed and
- 39:27Speaker 2: doing everything in their world to where I'm saying no
- 39:30Speaker 2: to everybody else and then I'm chulling. Then next you know,
- 39:32Speaker 2: you have the anxiety and urge like God, I've got
- 39:34Speaker 2: to get out of the house. I feel like I'm
- 39:35Speaker 2: going to prison.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Stir crazy, you stir crazy? Yeah, man.
- 39:38Speaker 3: And what was so fun is we had a great time.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Chef had to get to something deaconized, stayed for like
- 39:46Speaker 3: Actra forty five fish and I totally missed Scarlett's bottle
- 39:53Speaker 3: at two and so I looked at the I literally
- 39:56Speaker 3: did a oh fuck, Like what time is it.
- 40:00Speaker 1: You're grabbing for your keys. It was two forty five,
- 40:02Speaker 1: and I was like, I gotta go. I got it.
- 40:04Speaker 3: And then I was like, oh wait, no, I packed
- 40:06Speaker 3: her bottle. I have all this stuff here. She can
- 40:10Speaker 3: just eat here and we'll push nap time and all
- 40:12Speaker 3: that stuff. And like being able to kind of go
- 40:15Speaker 3: with the flow because you're coming.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Or they've always only taken a heated bottle. Oh I
- 40:21Speaker 2: forgot to heat the milk. Yeah this is cold. Then
- 40:24Speaker 2: your brain goes.
- 40:24Speaker 3: To, let's see if they like some cold milk. Yea,
- 40:26Speaker 3: Then they try it.
- 40:27Speaker 2: They might drink it and be like, oh snap, I
- 40:29Speaker 2: just kind of found a little dad hack for our
- 40:31Speaker 2: little world. Say she doesn't like it, then you're trying
- 40:33Speaker 2: to figure out the pivot of we're inside of a restaurant. Hey,
- 40:36Speaker 2: I got my eight month old. Is there any way
- 40:39Speaker 2: I could get some hot water any way to warm
- 40:41Speaker 2: this up to where they do? And then they bring
- 40:42Speaker 2: the bottle back and you just solved all the problems
- 40:45Speaker 2: because you're just going with the flow and like, hey,
- 40:47Speaker 2: I need to find a way to make this happen.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Then if you get to a total dead end, you
- 40:51Speaker 2: might have to go home, But no matter what, you're
- 40:53Speaker 2: trying to like exhaust all options of being on the go,
- 40:57Speaker 2: like Charlo. We get so proud that Charles was big
- 41:00Speaker 2: on we're going to travel with them, We're going to hey,
- 41:03Speaker 2: if we're going to the farmer or like getting out
- 41:05Speaker 2: of the house doing this, Like they're going to adapt
- 41:08Speaker 2: more to our world with the structures that we have
- 41:09Speaker 2: around them, So we're going to need all the things
- 41:11Speaker 2: that we need to go with them. And it is
- 41:14Speaker 2: like it is fucking hard at times, Like it is
- 41:18Speaker 2: shitty when you're on a flight and they won't calm
- 41:20Speaker 2: down or they need all these things and they're ainsy
- 41:23Speaker 2: or they're a busy body. Like all the shit that
- 41:25Speaker 2: you go through to make some of your travel planes
- 41:28Speaker 2: or vacations or weekends or having an afternoon like for
- 41:32Speaker 2: those things to happen, like they make no mistake. The
- 41:35Speaker 2: shit is difficult, it is, but now like Rubing four,
- 41:39Speaker 2: like she just feels so much more adapted to being
- 41:44Speaker 2: a kid that like we're gonna be on the go,
- 41:45Speaker 2: we're gonna be doing this to where she's even thinking
- 41:48Speaker 2: of things or Scotty might need this, yeah, or she
- 41:51Speaker 2: communicates what she needs, but she's just so she's getting
- 41:54Speaker 2: so well versed and so adapted to us just being
- 41:57Speaker 2: kind of a busy family or on the move at
- 41:59Speaker 2: all times. Now you're just like you're happy that you
- 42:02Speaker 2: did those things.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Yes, dude, it is like an introduction into your life
- 42:07Speaker 3: for the kids. Yeah, so that you're adapting to their needs,
- 42:12Speaker 3: but they're also adapting to yours because those will be
- 42:15Speaker 3: their needs eventually. Those needs for social interaction, for outdoor time, yeah,
- 42:21Speaker 3: for hobbies that like bring them joy, for just their curiosity,
- 42:25Speaker 3: curiosity like.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Dead at Why are we standing in the security Why?
- 42:28Speaker 2: Why is it called the security line? Why do we
- 42:31Speaker 2: have to stand in here? Why are there so many people?
- 42:34Speaker 2: What number do I have to look for?
- 42:36Speaker 1: Like the gate?
- 42:37Speaker 2: Like she knows like her ABC's and she knows the one, two,
- 42:40Speaker 2: three's all that stuff to where you're like learning all
- 42:44Speaker 2: the go with them, like you're having these little fun moments. Hey,
- 42:46Speaker 2: fine gate, we're looking for B and A nine. You
- 42:49Speaker 2: got to look up on these across these ways and
- 42:52Speaker 2: you try to find B nine.
- 42:54Speaker 1: For dead well, why are they up there? And you're
- 42:56Speaker 1: explaining to them why they're up there.
- 42:58Speaker 2: People got to be able to see. It can't be
- 43:00Speaker 2: low because it wouldn't be able to be visible.
- 43:02Speaker 1: What if they were down there?
- 43:03Speaker 2: So that way, like let me pick you all the
- 43:05Speaker 2: way up. You put them on your shoulder. You see
- 43:06Speaker 2: how you can see all the way down the hallway.
- 43:09Speaker 2: That's why they do this, dad, Why are you looking
- 43:11Speaker 2: at the screen trying to see where our check baggage claim.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Is going to be? What's check baggage claim? Dude?
- 43:18Speaker 2: A great question, great question. But they're like they're learning
- 43:21Speaker 2: in real time. And then the next iterations that you
- 43:23Speaker 2: do where you're traveling, they almost they start to get
- 43:26Speaker 2: a foundation of like what the process looks like.
- 43:29Speaker 1: And then it's just cool to see. Yeah, dude, there
- 43:32Speaker 1: is cool.
- 43:32Speaker 2: You see them kind of have the knowledge or learn
- 43:35Speaker 2: or like ask the right questions. Yes, oh we do
- 43:38Speaker 2: this because this dude, you're right, good job, yes.
- 43:41Speaker 3: And there is so much education to be had in
- 43:43Speaker 3: books and flashcards, et cetera. Yeah, we do flashcards. Y'all
- 43:47Speaker 3: have a great little game. This was a while ago.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Y'all might not even do it anymore with rough where
- 43:53Speaker 3: y'all have this little game where Charlo was like, now,
- 43:57Speaker 3: really look outside is it sign?
- 44:00Speaker 1: Is it overcast?
- 44:01Speaker 3: Is it kind of cloudy? And she puts or busyboard? Yeaheap,
- 44:05Speaker 3: and well what time is it? Okay, you put on
- 44:08Speaker 3: this time and there's like what day of the week,
- 44:10Speaker 3: What day of.
- 44:10Speaker 1: The week is it? Yeah?
- 44:12Speaker 2: The degree range outside and the like how hot is
- 44:16Speaker 2: it going to be? Like finding the sixty find in
- 44:18Speaker 2: the seventies?
- 44:18Speaker 3: Like there there's stuff to be learned inside, but then
- 44:22Speaker 3: like the real life application of it of getting out
- 44:26Speaker 3: of the house even when they're little. And I am
- 44:30Speaker 3: no expert, but like everybody, all of my closer ends
- 44:34Speaker 3: were like, there's no shot in hell that you're going
- 44:37Speaker 3: to Waco, Texas for Auburn Baylor with an eight eight
- 44:40Speaker 3: week old. You are a psychopath, your psycho, and it's
- 44:44Speaker 3: not going to happen. And I'm so glad that we
- 44:47Speaker 3: did it because it really did set that benchmark of
- 44:50Speaker 3: if we were able to do that when she was
- 44:52Speaker 3: eight weeks.
- 44:53Speaker 1: We're on cruise.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Control as far as like how much easier this gets,
- 44:59Speaker 3: and it does. Jill's like we said, she stole my
- 45:03Speaker 3: daughter away from me this week.
- 45:04Speaker 2: And yeah, and you just you get like again, it's
- 45:08Speaker 2: like did you should be proud? It's like, as parents,
- 45:10Speaker 2: you just get proud of yourself because you did challenge
- 45:12Speaker 2: yourself to do like, hey.
- 45:14Speaker 1: You're a psycho. Oh we shouldn't do that. Why shouldn't
- 45:16Speaker 1: we do that?
- 45:16Speaker 2: And they kind of tell you maybe some good reasons
- 45:18Speaker 2: why I get that. Maybe you pivot back to, well,
- 45:21Speaker 2: you don't do the thing because hey, I wasn't thinking
- 45:24Speaker 2: about all of these things, or you see it as like, oh.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I like her chances, we'll figure it out.
- 45:29Speaker 3: And to you, we are not experts, not experts. Your
- 45:33Speaker 3: kid is susceptible to stuff at eight weeks. Totally get
- 45:36Speaker 3: it if you're not going to travel for those reasons,
- 45:38Speaker 3: and that's very smart of you. Like I'm not saying
- 45:41Speaker 3: you're a good parent if you do one or the other.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, zero zero.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Like Charle was listening last week and she was like
- 45:48Speaker 2: what did you say about how Scarlett like drops her
- 45:51Speaker 2: passy on the floor or can't put it back in
- 45:53Speaker 2: the round?
- 45:54Speaker 1: Where was she at the airport? At the airport?
- 45:57Speaker 2: At the airport and Charlo and I were laughing like
- 45:59Speaker 2: we kind of just let it ride when it hits
- 46:01Speaker 2: the ground and put it back in. But then if
- 46:03Speaker 2: you're like Johnny on the spot is an extreme example,
- 46:06Speaker 2: but if you're in a very dirty like if it's
- 46:08Speaker 2: like in a bathroom or in a stall and it
- 46:10Speaker 2: hits clean it off. But I'm thinking, yeah, like in
- 46:12Speaker 2: the middle of an airport, Like in the middle of
- 46:14Speaker 2: the airport, it drops on the ground, he picked that
- 46:16Speaker 2: back up, like get it back in. Hey, there's ay
- 46:19Speaker 2: thousand different ways of skinny cat, the amount of times
- 46:22Speaker 2: I've done yeah, yeah, hell yeah, yeah yeah.
- 46:27Speaker 1: But you know, wife, he's standing right there. I'm in
- 46:29Speaker 1: the airport.
- 46:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh we got next one in the back.
- 46:32Speaker 1: You're right, honey, Well.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, like right now we're trying to speaking
- 46:36Speaker 2: of the thousand different ways of skin a cat. We're
- 46:39Speaker 2: chowing rue like we had Shepherd's pie last night. You know,
- 46:42Speaker 2: in Shepherd's pie, you got the ground beef, you got
- 46:44Speaker 2: the PE's, you got the carrots, you got the potatoes.
- 46:46Speaker 2: It's all kind of mixed together, and Rue's not like
- 46:50Speaker 2: she identifies something that in her brain. She's not liking that.
- 46:53Speaker 2: We have to go to Daniel Tiger. It's fun to
- 46:54Speaker 2: try new things because it my taste good. What would
- 46:57Speaker 2: Daniel Tiger say? Cause she's like, you know, she's for
- 47:01Speaker 2: whatever reason, doesn't like peas, or since carrots are cut
- 47:04Speaker 2: in a small little way, she doesn't like carrots. Dude,
- 47:06Speaker 2: you don't know what you like. You gotta try it,
- 47:09Speaker 2: because she would heat the beef. She likes the beef,
- 47:11Speaker 2: but she's kind of picking through it. I'm just like, dude,
- 47:13Speaker 2: come on, like, just scoop it up. You want to
- 47:14Speaker 2: mix the mash potatoes in it. See how you take
- 47:16Speaker 2: the fork and you kind of stirred. It makes it
- 47:18Speaker 2: a little creamy and dreamy.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Scoop it up. I promise you you won't taste the peas,
- 47:23Speaker 1: you won't taste the carrots.
- 47:25Speaker 2: You will taste the ground beef that you're tasting, and
- 47:27Speaker 2: a little bit of those massed potatoes.
- 47:28Speaker 1: That you like.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Hey, we're trying to get her to do it, but
- 47:31Speaker 2: charls like a lot of ways to skin a cat, sweetheart,
- 47:33Speaker 2: And I'm like, she said it.
- 47:35Speaker 1: She was saying it to Rue. She said it to
- 47:37Speaker 1: Rue wanted to try something like, yeah, you can do
- 47:40Speaker 1: that a lot of ways to skin a cat. And
- 47:42Speaker 1: I just kind of chuckled myself on Rudy, you know
- 47:45Speaker 1: how to skin a cat? See me and the boys.
- 47:50Speaker 1: But I was.
- 47:53Speaker 2: Cracker, maybe dude, you one today?
- 47:59Speaker 1: You want bedtime? We But Bro, I had a oh
- 48:05Speaker 1: my gosh, I had a tweet a post over the
- 48:10Speaker 1: weekend where I couldn't believe Rue had turned oh four?
- 48:17Speaker 1: Where Rue had turned four.
- 48:20Speaker 3: You kind of had a self reflecting moment.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Yeah, just to continue to fill space, continue to feel.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Sec the way turning four. Yeah, absolutely, Bro.
- 48:30Speaker 2: In Easter Acuns, we'll get into the Easter eight guns,
- 48:32Speaker 2: and I want to learn about the Nanty conversation. My
- 48:37Speaker 2: post was I can't believe my daughter just turned four.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Time goes by way too fast and I absolutely hate it.
- 48:42Speaker 2: I know I have a ways to go, but my
- 48:44Speaker 2: takeaway so far, the worst part about being a parent
- 48:47Speaker 2: is watching them grow up. Obviously, we talked about that,
- 48:49Speaker 2: yes in depth a little bit last week on last
- 48:51Speaker 2: week's episode. It's not the tantrums, not the late night
- 48:53Speaker 2: wake ups, not having to go back up to her
- 48:55Speaker 2: room for thirty minutes to talk to her about how
- 48:57Speaker 2: wolves want attack her while she sleeps. That's on me
- 49:00Speaker 2: for including me and wolves in her make believe story,
- 49:03Speaker 2: but essentially cherish every moment it goes.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Way too fast.
- 49:06Speaker 2: But going back up to talk to her about wolves
- 49:08Speaker 2: and story time and skin of casts to bring it
- 49:10Speaker 2: all the way back around. She we're now in this
- 49:14Speaker 2: phase to where she doesn't want books currently right now,
- 49:17Speaker 2: for like the last I would say week, she wants
- 49:21Speaker 2: stories from us, stories, which kind of challenges you as
- 49:27Speaker 2: a parent because now you're you're legitimately trying to storytell.
- 49:32Speaker 2: How many stories can you just make up in your brain?
- 49:35Speaker 2: I'm tying into okay, I'm like, what characters do you
- 49:38Speaker 2: want to be in it? She always wants Tigy, She
- 49:40Speaker 2: always wants Princess Cerulian in the story. So I just
- 49:44Speaker 2: grab any Disney movie that I have. Lion King, that's genius, Bugs,
- 49:49Speaker 2: Life Tangled, Angels in the outfield. It could be angels
- 49:55Speaker 2: in the ones that like you know well that you've
- 49:58Speaker 2: seen a lot that you remember back in the day,
- 50:00Speaker 2: and then you just insert said characters and then make
- 50:02Speaker 2: up all the other characters.
- 50:04Speaker 1: But once she wanted it to be.
- 50:07Speaker 2: A mountain, Princess Cerulian, Zooey that was a name we
- 50:10Speaker 2: kind of made up in one of the stories. Zooey, Tigi,
- 50:14Speaker 2: Tige's friends. But Tiger's friends got to be the bad guys,
- 50:18Speaker 2: got to be bad.
- 50:18Speaker 1: But she's kind of.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Given me a lot of parameters to where it kind
- 50:21Speaker 2: of cuffed me to.
- 50:24Speaker 1: How I could storytell.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Sounds like the producer needs to get out of the
- 50:28Speaker 3: writing room.
- 50:29Speaker 1: Kind of, yeah, I needed, I need to implement that standing. Yeah,
- 50:35Speaker 1: but it got it to where I basically did the
- 50:38Speaker 1: Bugs Life story to where they go off Princess.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Serulian and Tigi. They have to deliver food to tie
- 50:44Speaker 2: or not. Princess Serulian and Zooe were the good guys
- 50:46Speaker 2: in the story. She wanted Tiger to be a bad
- 50:48Speaker 2: guy with his friends. Okay, Tigi was a hopper, the
- 50:52Speaker 2: bad guys in Bugs Life. So Princess Seruli and she
- 50:55Speaker 2: wanted the town to be called beautiful to where there's
- 50:57Speaker 2: beautiful trees, beautiful grass, beautiful flowers. So I have to
- 51:02Speaker 2: involve this entire story of Once upon a time, there's
- 51:06Speaker 2: Princess Serulian and Zooey, and they lived in this place
- 51:09Speaker 2: called beautiful trees, grass flowers, and they lived the happiest
- 51:13Speaker 2: life to effort. The only but the only thing they
- 51:16Speaker 2: had to do to continue to live happy was to
- 51:18Speaker 2: deliver food once a month to Tigi and his bad
- 51:21Speaker 2: guy friends. Every month, Tiger and his bad guy friends
- 51:24Speaker 2: would come in and they would collect the food that
- 51:27Speaker 2: Princess Serulian and Zoe would round up. With everybody in
- 51:30Speaker 2: the town, all the people, all the animals, all the insects.
- 51:32Speaker 2: They'd round up the food, deliver it to have it
- 51:35Speaker 2: setting out for Tige and the bad guys. Tiger and
- 51:38Speaker 2: his friends, they'd pick it up and they'd go on
- 51:40Speaker 2: their way to One day, all the food they set
- 51:44Speaker 2: it out in, this big gust of wind came through.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Are you guys familiar? Pretty good?
- 51:48Speaker 1: Bugs Life? So are you guys sticking? Are you staying
- 51:51Speaker 1: with me? At the first what fry? Yeah? Oh yeah,
- 51:55Speaker 1: I'm a bugs Life or the main character in Bugs Life,
- 51:59Speaker 1: I forget his name, but he's out there something like
- 52:01Speaker 1: flip or yeah, yeah, something like that, click flick, there
- 52:06Speaker 1: we go.
- 52:06Speaker 2: He like messes up and hits like the rock and
- 52:08Speaker 2: all the food falls down into the river. Yeah, I'm
- 52:10Speaker 2: just there's no flick in this one. The wind picks
- 52:12Speaker 2: it up, blows it away. So Zooey decides she's going
- 52:15Speaker 2: to go off on her own to find some friends
- 52:17Speaker 2: from a nearby town to gather some food. Those friends' names,
- 52:21Speaker 2: I'm like, what do you want those friends namesed to be?
- 52:23Speaker 2: She's like, hook, boom, great flick by Dean Dean, Yeah, dude,
- 52:31Speaker 2: deep and Bear, let go. But as she's going to
- 52:36Speaker 2: the town, she has to go through a forest. In
- 52:38Speaker 2: the forest, I'm thinking, all right, what what scary things
- 52:40Speaker 2: could be in the forest, because this is a journey.
- 52:41Speaker 2: You got to take them on a journey. Yeah, have
- 52:43Speaker 2: all my brain thought of was wolves. And all of
- 52:45Speaker 2: a sudden, she's in the she's she's in the forest.
- 52:48Speaker 2: She sees the town light from down the road. It's
- 52:50Speaker 2: dark out, and all she sudden she hears and she's
- 52:54Speaker 2: like she kind of like leans up out of bed,
- 52:56Speaker 2: no like.
- 52:57Speaker 1: And then then Zooey hears we'll start chasing zooeys. Ooh,
- 53:03Speaker 1: he's running hook Dean and Bear right at the end
- 53:06Speaker 1: by line, Hey, just get to us, We'll save you
- 53:08Speaker 1: from the wolves.
- 53:09Speaker 2: They make it to them, they save them from the wolves,
- 53:11Speaker 2: the wolves from back in there. Zooey tries to break down, Hey,
- 53:14Speaker 2: here's what I need help with. We got to gather
- 53:15Speaker 2: food for Tiger because Tiger made a visit and said,
- 53:18Speaker 2: if you don't deliver food. I'm like, I can't say
- 53:22Speaker 2: I'll kill you, So I'm like, we'll throw you in
- 53:24Speaker 2: a cave.
- 53:24Speaker 1: And trap you there forever. Oh no, Sue.
- 53:26Speaker 2: He's breaking it down. All of the friends in this town,
- 53:29Speaker 2: this nearby town, they're like, Dean, Hook and.
- 53:32Speaker 1: Bear, Hey, we'll help you, We will help you.
- 53:35Speaker 2: The stipulation they got to go into the forest and
- 53:37Speaker 2: gather all this food and I'm just naming all Roo's
- 53:39Speaker 2: favorite foods like yogurt, me eggis, met meal, meat stick, bananas, blueberries,
- 53:48Speaker 2: all over the gathering on the firs by. But then
- 53:53Speaker 2: the wolves found Zooey, Bear, Hook, and Dean. Now you
- 53:59Speaker 2: need a sacrifice in this moment story, how are they
- 54:01Speaker 2: going to get out of the forest.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Don't do Dean, don't sacrifice Dean, Zooey, Dean.
- 54:04Speaker 2: And Hook, We're going to continue and run. Was going
- 54:08Speaker 2: to sacrifice himself. She wanted Bear to growl and roar.
- 54:11Speaker 1: At the wolves. Yeah, bro, okay, so bears like you
- 54:15Speaker 1: guys go, I'll stay back.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Kee's having his heroic moment in his in the hero's journey. Well,
- 54:21Speaker 2: they save themselves. They go to Princes Serrul and they
- 54:23Speaker 2: have the food. They're all happy. Hey, Zooey, Hook, Dean,
- 54:26Speaker 2: Why are you guys sad? We lost Bear? But meanwhile
- 54:30Speaker 2: in the forest, no, Bear defeats. Yeah, Bear defeats the wolves.
- 54:36Speaker 2: And right when they were trying to live happily ever after,
- 54:38Speaker 2: and Zooey and Hook and Dean they.
- 54:40Speaker 1: Were still sad. Out walks Bear plea made it.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Please tell me you got Scrilla playing on your phone
- 54:47Speaker 3: as you yeah, out of the forest, stay here, subtle music.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Bears just slow mo coming out of the brush. God,
- 54:59Speaker 1: why rush that story? You crossed?
- 55:02Speaker 2: That Rue was leaning up out of her bed like
- 55:05Speaker 2: they're hitting all the moves, So I tuck her in.
- 55:07Speaker 2: We like she's asking all the questions about the story.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Why are they a bed?
- 55:11Speaker 1: Guy?
- 55:11Speaker 2: Well, you wanted them to be about so I had
- 55:13Speaker 2: to kind of that kind of had to be their role.
- 55:15Speaker 2: Go downstairs. Rufe starts crying. Mom goes up. Mom comes down, Hey,
- 55:19Speaker 2: what story did you tell her? Oh, did you talk
- 55:20Speaker 2: about wolves? It's like, yeah, I was kind of just
- 55:23Speaker 2: thinking on my feet. I need I needed a moment
- 55:26Speaker 2: of adversity while they were trying to go through the forest,
- 55:28Speaker 2: and all I could think about were the wolves. And
- 55:29Speaker 2: she's like, well, now she's scared of wolves. Like she
- 55:31Speaker 2: sees shadows on the wall, the sound light, the sound machine.
- 55:36Speaker 2: The light's too bright, so I have to turn down
- 55:38Speaker 2: the sound machine because she's scared of the shadows. She
- 55:40Speaker 2: thinks the wolves are going to get her. And I'm like,
- 55:43Speaker 2: you're living and you learn. Then fifteen minutes later, Rue
- 55:46Speaker 2: starts crying again. I go up there because I'm like,
- 55:49Speaker 2: all right, I did this. Rue's scared because she has
- 55:52Speaker 2: so much fear that she can't get out of her
- 55:54Speaker 2: bed to turn up the light because she can't see
- 55:55Speaker 2: anything now, and she's scared of all the walls being black,
- 55:59Speaker 2: And so I got a lay there with her, talk
- 56:00Speaker 2: to her about wolves. Hey, no wolves are gonna get
- 56:02Speaker 2: you in the house. There's no wolves in the house.
- 56:03Speaker 2: There's no wolves in your room, there's no wolves in
- 56:05Speaker 2: the house, there's no wolves outside. And she's like but
- 56:08Speaker 2: there are wolves in the forest. I'm like, oh, there's
- 56:10Speaker 2: wolves in the forest, like far far away. But I'm sweetheart,
- 56:13Speaker 2: it's all make believe. Like Dad is just telling stories.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Dad is just doing make believe. I'm pretending there's no
- 56:18Speaker 2: wolves even close to us. Yeah, are wolves black white, gray, brown, black?
- 56:22Speaker 1: Yeah, she'solve doesn't matter the wolves. Wolves are in the forest,
- 56:28Speaker 1: like we have forests outside, sweet those are just trees.
- 56:30Speaker 1: While all the trees they're close, they're close together, so
- 56:33Speaker 1: it's like a forest. Like that's a great point, but
- 56:36Speaker 1: they're not. They're they're sweetheart. You gotta go to sleep.
- 56:38Speaker 1: There's no wolves. There's no wolves. Chef had a great
- 56:41Speaker 1: point too. She had a great because I was telling
- 56:44Speaker 1: Chef about this yesterday. Yeah, I gotta I gotta fix uh.
- 56:48Speaker 1: I told Will. First thing he needs to do is say, sweetheart.
- 56:51Speaker 6: I am a wolf. They're good and bad wolves, so
- 56:54Speaker 6: you just want to stay with him bad ones. And
- 56:55Speaker 6: then the forest part, you go, No, that's the woods.
- 56:58Speaker 6: That's just the woods. The forest is. The forest is far.
- 57:01Speaker 6: It's no homes.
- 57:02Speaker 9: Around the forest. There's a lot of forest. Is a
- 57:06Speaker 9: special place. That's just the woods behind behind the house. Yeah, Forest, Canada, Woods, America. Yeah,
- 57:13Speaker 9: are we in America still?
- 57:15Speaker 1: Oh it's just the woods. Oh are we in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Oh it's just the woods. Go to sleep.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Well, Chef had the exact same idea as me, and
- 57:24Speaker 3: not to like bring levity just for a laugh, But
- 57:27Speaker 3: I really would have loved to see you pull up
- 57:29Speaker 3: your whoever made that like real rudimentary highlight tape of
- 57:34Speaker 3: you with like the intro where it's just the text
- 57:37Speaker 3: on screen of your NFL highlights.
- 57:40Speaker 1: It's like will Compton number fifty one, the wolf.
- 57:43Speaker 3: And it's like the image of a wolf and you
- 57:47Speaker 3: being like like coming out of the smoke and truly
- 57:50Speaker 3: being like, your dad is a wolf, but I'm a
- 57:54Speaker 3: good wolf. And look how I took care of all
- 57:57Speaker 3: these other wolves. Like I think that would open something
- 58:00Speaker 3: up for her of Hey, I'm.
- 58:02Speaker 1: Like, oh my dad can turn into a wolf. Yeah,
- 58:04Speaker 1: my dad, Well he can turn to a wolf. That
- 58:06Speaker 1: he's a good wolf, a good wolf. He's a good wolf.
- 58:09Speaker 1: He's a good one. And maybe she's too young for that.
- 58:11Speaker 4: You solved this before one of my first episodes, we
- 58:13Speaker 4: had a caller call in how his kid thought they
- 58:17Speaker 4: had a monkey in the room and we said they
- 58:19Speaker 4: should put out anti monkey stickers. Oh and so I'm
- 58:22Speaker 4: just saying it sounds like an anti wolf sticker.
- 58:24Speaker 3: Such a wa Yeah, I forgot yeah wolf spray dude
- 58:27Speaker 3: with the airsols.
- 58:28Speaker 1: That's what I need to go.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, wolve part of the night to where when
- 58:32Speaker 2: you're doing storytime instead of books, you're taking way longer
- 58:35Speaker 2: doing storytime because you're having to like think on your
- 58:38Speaker 2: feet the whole time. I'm caught up and I gotta
- 58:40Speaker 2: have like these moments of like keeping her on her toes,
- 58:44Speaker 2: and it takes so long, and then they want to
- 58:46Speaker 2: have a recap of the entire story. So you just
- 58:50Speaker 2: get to wear your run down. After doing bedtime for
- 58:52Speaker 2: a certain period of time, you're going down, ready to
- 58:54Speaker 2: kick your feet up. Now she's crying, she's scared. Okay,
- 58:57Speaker 2: I did this. Let's go put these fires out. But
- 58:59Speaker 2: I need to to flip the swing.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Mike, secret stuff, dude.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Go to Walgreens, get a cleaner spray bottle, tape over it,
- 59:06Speaker 3: wolf spray water in there, surpriser tonight, Honey, look what
- 59:11Speaker 3: I got at the store.
- 59:13Speaker 6: I think one last point is when you're doing a
- 59:15Speaker 6: story like this, always give a descriptor of like a
- 59:18Speaker 6: far far away land. This happened, and this happened far
- 59:22Speaker 6: far away. This doesn't even exist around me. That's that
- 59:25Speaker 6: way you can. You can say whatever you want in
- 59:28Speaker 6: the story and go, no, that's the forest and blah
- 59:30Speaker 6: blah blah, it's far far it's we'll never even go there.
- 59:34Speaker 2: Next, I know she'll she'll have me up with her
- 59:37Speaker 2: little globe in the room and back. Can you show
- 59:39Speaker 2: me where? Yeah, all right, it's over here in Japan.
- 59:42Speaker 2: You're opening some more doors.
- 59:44Speaker 6: But I think that's a good like you're putting the
- 59:46Speaker 6: expectation first that hey, this is not anywhere.
- 59:49Speaker 1: This is in in Tennessee. Yes, this is in Ukraine.
- 59:54Speaker 1: It will will.
- 59:57Speaker 3: I would be remissed if I'm being so. Since hearing this,
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: we brought up Stokehouse, the barbecue play shout out no
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: free shoutoutouts. A lot of people we've been seeing comments, Hey,
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: when you're gonna let chef talk about turkey, when you're
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: gonna let him talk about the truck. I would love
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: to let chef talk about the pulled pork at Stokhouse.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: If we have a brief moment for you, is that. Okay,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Am I getting the green light? Oh? Is he getting? What?
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Am I getting the green light? Is he getting the
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: green light? Lights? Me go green? You're getting the green light? Chef?
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: All right, yeah we are all I want to hear
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: about the pool.
- 1:00:33Speaker 6: Lady Derek invited me this place, and I had no
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: clue that Derek had not been there.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Derek is, he's been on a run. There's no other
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: way to say. The heater. He's on a heater. Do
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: we show up?
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: This place is very unassuming now, will say, I'm gonna
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: walk in. They had an offset smoker sitting in the
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: side that looked like it was three hundred years old.
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: That's a good sign now. And also let me preface
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: I am. I take a lot of pride in my barbecue.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: I take a lot of pride in rating it and
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: caring about it. And I take very much pride and
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: how I rate given and respect it deserves. Will this
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: place limited menu? All it does in meats is pull
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: pork memphistyle pork ribs, and then on Saturday Sundays they
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: do brisket.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Am I correcting that it's very Texas style brisket? Yeah
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: it is.
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: I didn't we didn't the brisket. It was Friday, so
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: they didn't. They weren't doing the brisket. I got a
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: half pound of pulled pork, and uh, that's my go to.
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: I'm a pull pork guy, like Carolina style. I like
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: a vinegar sauce. Come on, it's the best. I've been
- 1:01:31Speaker 6: thinking about the slot of the weekend. It is the
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: best pull pork in Tennessee. And I don't say that lightly.
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: They do a heavy bark over it. And what they
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: do is they soak it in a vinegar and that
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: gives it this juice and this tang. It's my kind
- 1:01:44Speaker 6: of style. I'm not as much on the sweet barbecue.
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: I like to have the tang in it. It did that.
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: And my next favorite think of barbecue is Memphistyle dry
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: rubber ribs, and they had some of the best. I
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: wouldn't put them over like a Rendezvous and Memphis, But
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: I mean overall, I was shocked. Limited menutube, the mac
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: and cheese is greatly curly. Fries were incredible. Plantains, yes,
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: smoked plantains.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Talk to him.
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: It was the smokehouts and I was I was floored.
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: I think Derek and my reaction I was kind of
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: like in a shock. I didn't know what to say
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: during it.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: But Derek, unfortunately my favorite part of Chef's experience. Chef
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: was doing a review on snapchat. Were you recording? Yeah?
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: He was recording himself.
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: As he was taking bites will and I swear to God,
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: this is how fast his rating of the pull pork
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: was recording himself. He goes, pull pork looks pretty good.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: Let's get about seven out of ten. That fast, seven
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: out of ten.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Seven.
- 1:02:47Speaker 6: I think I don't remember the number it was. I
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: don't remember the number I gave. I don't know if
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: I gave it a number.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Maybe I'm wrong.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: But the review, the review, we might have just been
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: lost in the experience.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: I was lost in the experience. I was just watching
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Chef work.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: The review was as fast as Dave Portinoy giving a
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: pizza zero point zero. You know when he like does
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: it's yeah?
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I mean he.
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: Was it, And I wonder if it's recent bias.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Like that's where I've been.
- 1:03:10Speaker 6: There's a place in East Tennessee called Ridgewood, that's up
- 1:03:13Speaker 6: in Johnson City, Old Guss's Mountain Pit, Sweetwater, Tennessee. Those
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: are places I have high. I'm wondering, like do I
- 1:03:21Speaker 6: need to go back and retry? And then there's places
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: out east to Memphiss and Jackson. So it's a but man,
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: I was I was shocked. I was very happy.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Will we got to know.
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: I know it's your daughter's birthday, but yeah, hell yeah,
- 1:03:37Speaker 6: we should have found a way.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Three for three is Deeke's not hot, he's Bernie. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: we have another special guest. We do who do we have? Yeah? Target? Target,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you. That's that's a new record to
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: special guests. Yeah. Yeah, she was about to come on
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: the show. She wasn't saying nothing. She was just like,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: why are you guys clapping? Oh, she was that rude.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: If she wasn't messing around, she was trying to get
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: her delivered. That's why she's great. Yeah, that's why she's
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: the best. Yeah, she didn't know what she walked into.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: So you guys know, it's four full bags of lollipops,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: full bags of alley. You can't make it. Make sure
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: we get paid for every two, we get one free.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Make sure make sure in the receipts get Drinkgollipop dot
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: com for it.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: Slash PWTV did should we knock out some comments?
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Please?
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Please, let's knock out some comments. I have a couple

- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Empty six are here thinking of Suirm's car schedule and
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: making it come to life. We are talking about me
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: owning the garage at this new house and that also
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: involving Jill's car. The best thing we ever did is
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: use mobile services as much as possible. I have my
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: oil chain service come to my house and by the
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: time I'm done loading the dishwasher, my car's ready to roll.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: Same goes for the detailer h scheduled for every sixty days.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: Such a life saver, and I don't have to even
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: think about it. Oh my, and I know that those
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: prices get a marble oil changer. Yes, and the prices
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: are competitive.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: That's bad. Hack of the Week.

- 1:06:53Speaker 2: people out there.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Sorry, I threw it on the ground. Kaylee, I'm gonna
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: I'm gonna pocket this pocket.

- 1:17:47Speaker 3: home not just, physically but mentally and emotionally. TOO i
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: know that there's probably a lot of stuff that's on
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: these guys in gal's brains when they are off you,
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: know not off, duty but in the reserves or back
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: home or. Whatever AND i love That taylor gave that

- 1:18:26Speaker 2: like obviously we don't know we're not in the. Military
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: so when he's speaking to the military on, hey if.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: You're, home be, Home if you're, present be.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: Present, yeah BUT i feel like you do get an
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: iteration or example of it in some of these movies
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: that you get to, watch Like American. Sniper oh my,
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: god When Bradley cooper's home and all he can think
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: about is he's got to be, Back he's got to
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: be back over there with his, boys or like you,
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: know when the husband comes home and they're just like
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: so wrapped up and everything else except being. Home, Yeah,
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: okay your, daughter she just wants. You your, son he

- 1:19:04Speaker 3: THAT i know That rude didn't overlap too much WITH,
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: nfl But i'm sure that there's probably a lot of that.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: Too with all THE nfl guys that you have on the,
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: pod just hearing what it's like being in a professional
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: sport and feeling so deprived from your. Kids those guys
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: are still seeing their kids at least once a, week
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: twice a. Week imagine these guys that aren't seeing their

- 1:19:30Speaker 2: feel LIKE i could never do, it.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: And doing serving something that's so much bigger than.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Themselves the amount of military affiliated listeners that we have
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: on this, podcast, dude it's really. Cool what an awesome
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: community to be not a part, of but like to
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: feel like we have gotten to know them more and,
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: more have gotten closer with, them and that they love this.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Pod that's pretty.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: Cool, yeah and that's great by for anybody who's in
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: any career that they. Love obviously the jobs are vastly. Different,
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: yeah but the concept of being, present being at, home
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: being when you're with your, kids be with your kids like,
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: that that's great advice for literally, everybody because we all
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: have jobs we.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: Love we all have jobs we.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: Sacrifice the light, for we sacrifice a lot. For where
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: at times you're at, home Like i'm guilty of this as,
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: well to where you were thinking about, work or you're
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: thinking about the next, thing you're so wrapped up in,
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: it or you're on your, phone to where you're not
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: present or you're not there or, wife you might say
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: something to, you or you just catch yourself or you
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: just kind of, know recapping your day or your weekend
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: about where your mind has just been, off you, know
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: trying to solve a different problem versus just.
