- 13:17Speaker 5: They're okay?
- 13:18Speaker 1: All right.
- 13:19Speaker 14: So your first name is Carmelo A.
- 13:22Speaker 11: R M L.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Let's see how I won't say okay, I don't know, Yeah, man,
- 13:28Speaker 5: carmelow see A R A K A R K A
- 13:31Speaker 5: R M E l O M E l O Carmelo.
- 13:34Speaker 5: What's your last name?
- 13:36Speaker 14: A and A T h y. We're ready to win.
- 13:40Speaker 5: I'm twelve, think gray.
- 13:41Speaker 14: You go to Emerson?
- 13:43Speaker 3: Where do you go?
- 13:44Speaker 5: Do Stanniel? Okay, I'm a twelve grade. Twelfth grade? Okay,
- 13:48Speaker 5: it's ten, all right, said, time for your kid? But
- 13:50Speaker 5: a right, all right, rememberrue, this guy is real quick.
- 13:55Speaker 5: I haven't talked to him at all.
- 13:56Speaker 10: Just because the kid was mad. My son is not
- 13:59Speaker 10: here anymore, and I don't understand it.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Just tell me about what happened today.
- 14:12Speaker 10: I don't know. I just I got a phone call
- 14:14Speaker 10: from Hunter. He was screaming that Austin had been stabbed.
- 14:20Speaker 10: I was at work, and so I drove. I work
- 14:23Speaker 10: in grape Vine, so I drove up to the hospital
- 14:26Speaker 10: and straight away I actually beat the ambulance there. Yeah,
- 14:30Speaker 10: I saw them to have him come out. He was
- 14:35Speaker 10: on a lot of machines and it didn't take long
- 14:37Speaker 10: for them to come in to say that he had passed.
- 14:40Speaker 10: So I'm not sure. Senseless act of a boy that
- 14:44Speaker 10: was in the wrong tent and my son doing the
- 14:48Speaker 10: right thing by telling that boy that he needed to
- 14:51Speaker 10: be removed from where he was and just doesn't make
- 14:57Speaker 10: any sense. I mean, that's my just because the kid
- 15:01Speaker 10: was mad. My son is not here anymore, and I
- 15:04Speaker 10: don't understand it. Tell me about the last team.
- 15:08Speaker 14: What do you know about your boy?
- 15:10Speaker 10: He was the most amazing kid, oh so smart. He
- 15:15Speaker 10: had college football guys looking at him to play in college.
- 15:18Speaker 10: Was his goal was to play in college. He just
- 15:20Speaker 10: wanted to play football. His life was going to the
- 15:24Speaker 10: gym and working out and being a leader on his
- 15:26Speaker 10: football team. And he just had such ambitions and a
- 15:31Speaker 10: drive that it's hard to find in the kid. And
- 15:35Speaker 10: he's just such a good spirit, and so many kids
- 15:38Speaker 10: loved him. And his brothers lost his best friend through twins, right, yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 10: identical twins. Yeah, they didn't like they are.
- 15:50Speaker 2: The best of friends.
- 15:52Speaker 11: Like just.
- 15:55Speaker 10: I'm so worried about my son because he's going to
- 15:58Speaker 10: have to face this world with alone now, because he
- 16:01Speaker 10: had a brother that was with him the whole time
- 16:03Speaker 10: and now he's gonna have to do it alone. And
- 16:06Speaker 10: I'm just so worried about him. I really am sure
- 16:10Speaker 10: with Austin, he was They made him go away when
- 16:14Speaker 10: they were doing CPR on him, but he was there
- 16:16Speaker 10: when he was stabbed and he was holding I guess
- 16:18Speaker 10: the wound to keep it from he was trying to
- 16:21Speaker 10: save his brother. But I think he said he saw
- 16:24Speaker 10: when he took his last breath and before the CPR
- 16:27Speaker 10: came back in. So for what I heard, he was
- 16:30Speaker 10: unresponsive for five minutes. They were able to revive him
- 16:32Speaker 10: a little, but I think it was just it was
- 16:36Speaker 10: too little, too late. What can the community do for
- 16:39Speaker 10: your family? They need to support the kids at the
- 16:46Speaker 10: school that Austin was loved by so many people. They
- 16:49Speaker 10: just they need to know that there's other people out
- 16:52Speaker 10: there for them and not against them, you know. And
- 16:56Speaker 10: firstcal Memorial has got a football program. That's it's it's
- 17:01Speaker 10: in a process and we we want everybody to know
- 17:04Speaker 10: that it's a it's a family and I're they're there together.
- 17:07Speaker 10: So uh but just as to put your arms r
- 17:11Speaker 10: wrap around and support, says Hunter, Who did you wanna
- 17:14Speaker 10: talk to him?
- 17:16Speaker 12: Hunter's see, yeah, he's a good kids.
- 17:25Speaker 2: We just got a little altercation and that it's really yet.
- 17:28Speaker 2: But y, he has a good heart.
- 17:30Speaker 12: Everyone knows. Everyone around here knows he's a great kid.
- 17:32Speaker 12: You just just one one mistake, that dude, and this
- 17:36Speaker 12: just took my brother just just r. He didn't deserve it.
- 17:42Speaker 12: No one, No one deserve Its a lost from a
- 17:44Speaker 12: family like that. I know people that used to a
- 17:45Speaker 12: family members all the time. Bodgers didn't know us to
- 17:47Speaker 12: be mine. So soon I'm not best friendly than my
- 17:50Speaker 12: brother and my whole life. But if y'all, if y'all
- 17:54Speaker 12: can just like I I not not, oh, y'all sorry,
- 17:58Speaker 12: just like thank y'all for just comforting us in like
- 18:01Speaker 12: the first go areas was comfort of my family and me,
- 18:03Speaker 12: and I just really appreciate everything that everyone's doing. It's
- 18:05Speaker 12: just it's it's it's a really hard loss. But we're
- 18:08Speaker 12: gonna we're gonna get through with my family, so we'll
- 18:10Speaker 12: just stay together. I mean, our relationship is really the
- 18:16Speaker 12: tightest I've ever seen in somebody, like between uh, two
- 18:19Speaker 12: human beings. I mean we did everything together, cleaning the
- 18:23Speaker 12: dishes together, did y'all work together, sports, you name anything
- 18:27Speaker 12: in the world.
- 18:27Speaker 2: It's always us too, uh in one thing. So you're
- 18:29Speaker 2: always just basically one person. It's just a few minutes
- 18:33Speaker 2: apart four minutes.
- 18:35Speaker 10: Austin was first by four minutes. He got stuck in me.
- 18:41Speaker 2: He does a lot of big other stuff around.
- 18:43Speaker 12: He's always I my back, even know if I'm being
- 18:45Speaker 12: the wrong, He'll always take my side no matter what it's.
- 18:47Speaker 12: So it's just really hard breaking to see someone that
- 18:49Speaker 12: that cares for me that much and does everything, even
- 18:52Speaker 12: by your side no matter what, just passed away like that.
- 18:55Speaker 3: When your mom told me that you were there, and
- 19:00Speaker 3: if you if you don't.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Mind what happened.
- 19:02Speaker 12: There was this kid, uh before I knew his name. Now,
- 19:06Speaker 12: this kid's sitting under our to our k uh tent
- 19:10Speaker 12: at track. We asked him to move. He started getting
- 19:13Speaker 12: aggressive and talking reckless, and my brother stepped in and
- 19:17Speaker 12: said he need to move, and he's like, make me
- 19:19Speaker 12: move also, and grab his backpack. This kid, I I
- 19:23Speaker 12: I try to whip around the s as fast as
- 19:24Speaker 12: I could, but I didn't see the the stab. But
- 19:27Speaker 12: then I look at my mi and I look at
- 19:30Speaker 12: my brother, and then I'm not gonna talk about the rest.
- 19:32Speaker 12: But yeah, just that's that's just what I saw him.
- 19:34Speaker 12: And I I mean, I I tried.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I tried to help him, but.
- 19:39Speaker 10: It was just senseless.
- 19:41Speaker 12: It was it was really senseless. Really, I don't know
- 19:44Speaker 12: why my person would do that to someone, uh, just
- 19:46Speaker 12: over that little argument. It's just it's just crazy in
- 19:49Speaker 12: this world nowadays, how people just up and do that
- 19:52Speaker 12: like that did a man of the family, that man
- 19:54Speaker 12: that has people that cary about them all the time,
- 19:56Speaker 12: and he he he did everything for our family too.
- 19:58Speaker 12: He was a strong man. He was strong, strong kid,
- 20:00Speaker 12: real strong. And I know I'm strong too, but he's
- 20:04Speaker 12: a little stronger, but he's just he's just he did
- 20:08Speaker 12: a lot for our family and a bunch of stuff
- 20:09Speaker 12: that we just don't recognize in it. It's just like
- 20:12Speaker 12: especially throughout our friends too, like everyone everyone knew.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Like he was the peace maker.
- 20:16Speaker 12: He was so what I'm saying, he hurt someone who
- 20:19Speaker 12: really makes peace, really calms peace down. He makes everything
- 20:21Speaker 12: s s sales soothly and he cannot cause I I
- 20:26Speaker 12: I get upset, but then he calls me down. He's
- 20:28Speaker 12: It's just he was. He was just allway there for me.
- 20:30Speaker 12: So it's just really heartbreaking to see, like how this happened.
- 20:33Speaker 13: My goodness.
- 20:34Speaker 2: And you guys were seventeen.
- 20:37Speaker 10: Seventeen, yeah, there'll be eighteen in July. Hm. I saw
- 20:41Speaker 10: a little articles say you guys were sixteen years which, yeah,
- 20:43Speaker 10: we're yeah, they're seventeen. This man, this man, Yeah, Austin
- 20:49Speaker 10: wanted to play football.
- 20:50Speaker 2: He would have played college football.
- 20:52Speaker 10: He would have.
- 20:53Speaker 12: He he definitely use his mindset, his skill level, his
- 20:56Speaker 12: IQ of the game was probably the best I've seen
- 20:59Speaker 12: in the first going area.
- 21:00Speaker 2: As a linebacker.
- 21:01Speaker 12: He was a stud And I always try to fill
- 21:04Speaker 12: those shoes with them and play with them, and I
- 21:07Speaker 12: had a blast my whole life playing sports with him.
- 21:08Speaker 12: My whole life. It was just me and him, always
- 21:11Speaker 12: going to geinst people and last year the young it
- 21:14Speaker 12: was this year. So it's just really hard breaking out
- 21:16Speaker 12: to see him next year on the field.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I'm so sorry, my love, Oh my goodness.
- 21:21Speaker 10: I saw that he won linebacker over the years for
- 21:25Speaker 10: the Frisco Memorial.
- 21:26Speaker 2: He was second team All District, been first his shoes.
- 21:31Speaker 12: He everyone knows around this area, the impacts of what
- 21:35Speaker 12: he does for football and what he does for families
- 21:38Speaker 12: and friends, like he's just a great guy over all
- 21:41Speaker 12: to be around.
- 21:41Speaker 10: And it's hard work.
- 21:44Speaker 12: Extremely it's just really hard. It's just really hard to
- 21:46Speaker 12: see someone go like that just for like recklessness.
- 21:50Speaker 10: My focus of my story is of course on Austin.
- 21:53Speaker 10: That is what's most important. But what would you say
- 21:56Speaker 10: about the suspect and what's next and anything about him?
- 22:00Speaker 10: We have nothing to say.
- 22:01Speaker 12: I've never met this kid to right right then, it
- 22:04Speaker 12: really was under thirty seconds this altercation as to I've
- 22:07Speaker 12: never met this kid in my entire life, and it's just.
- 22:10Speaker 10: And to be honest with you, we don't wanna give
- 22:12Speaker 10: him any recognition or any care cause that's not that's
- 22:15Speaker 10: we're We're not. We have no desire to have anything
- 22:18Speaker 10: to do with that man.
- 22:19Speaker 12: Soo mm, I'd say that's really hard, but I'd say
- 22:26Speaker 12: a lot of things because I saw him for his.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Last moments and it was just.
- 22:31Speaker 10: How much we loved him.
- 22:32Speaker 12: He knew that he he knew how much I loved him,
- 22:34Speaker 12: how much I do for him anything, I do anything
- 22:36Speaker 12: for him. Yeah, no matter what he called me, I
- 22:39Speaker 12: think anything that he needs, how I'll do with him
- 22:41Speaker 12: is he's just a a great guy. So when you
- 22:45Speaker 12: have a great guy, you want people to be around you.
- 22:46Speaker 12: They're gonna be around you no matter what. Like he's
- 22:49Speaker 12: he's a great leader. That's why I always want to
- 22:52Speaker 12: tell him like I always wanted to be like him
- 22:55Speaker 12: in that sense. It's like how he just uh which
- 23:00Speaker 12: communicates and has great ways with people all the time.
- 23:03Speaker 12: I just I always looked up to him like that
- 23:05Speaker 12: he was. He wasn't a big brother who sends the
- 23:08Speaker 12: same age, but he was a big brother to me.
- 23:12Speaker 10: We just want to make sure that everybody knows how
- 23:15Speaker 10: much that Austin was is gonna be still in our
- 23:18Speaker 10: lives as far as in our memories and our hearts
- 23:21Speaker 10: for ever. You know, it's he's it's a it's gonna
- 23:27Speaker 10: be really hard. This is gonna be really hard.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I see how much you guys love an do him.
- 23:33Speaker 10: Yeah, I don't. I'm really trying not to cry, but
- 23:36Speaker 10: it's a.
- 23:39Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 23:40Speaker 10: He was my big baby. He was two hundred and
- 23:42Speaker 10: twenty five pounds, both of them big boys, and they
- 23:47Speaker 10: I loved the movie time with him. They would ask
- 23:49Speaker 10: me if we watch a movie and sit on the
- 23:51Speaker 10: couch and he put his head on my lap and
- 23:54Speaker 10: I'd scratch his back and he was just I don't know.
- 23:57Speaker 10: He'd tell me things. He was so personal with me,
- 24:00Speaker 10: and you know, I knew, I knew stuff that most
- 24:02Speaker 10: teenagers wouldn't tell their moms. That just things that he
- 24:06Speaker 10: because we wanted to be We were close, you know,
- 24:09Speaker 10: and now it's going to be us wrangling the future together.
- 24:16Speaker 10: I know you were with him till I know she
- 24:19Speaker 10: hold him the whole time.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I didn't yank.
- 24:22Speaker 10: Yeah, they had to leave, he had to be removed
- 24:24Speaker 10: when they did CPR, and then he wasn't able to
- 24:28Speaker 10: be in the ambulance with him on the way to the.
- 24:30Speaker 2: To the hospital. So it was just like heart throbbing,
- 24:33Speaker 2: the whole thing, the whole ride on the hospital.
- 24:35Speaker 10: How did you get to the hospital?
- 24:36Speaker 2: My dad, and my dad came. I called my mom.
- 24:39Speaker 2: My mom didn't know, she just know. She didn't answer.
- 24:41Speaker 11: She did.
- 24:41Speaker 12: That worked, and then she entered my phone and that's
- 24:43Speaker 12: what happened. She came right away, and then we drove
- 24:46Speaker 12: to the hospital and we're trying to fit everything out.
- 24:49Speaker 10: Yeah, it was hard. That was tough because we saw
- 24:51Speaker 10: I beat the ambulance there. I don't even know how
- 24:55Speaker 10: that's possible, but I did, Uh, because I came in
- 24:58Speaker 10: from Grapevine.
- 25:17Speaker 16: Another mother crying, another child on trial, another black boy,
- 25:24Speaker 16: and Joe.
- 25:25Speaker 17: Before they walked me out, they said the Lord's equal.
- 25:31Speaker 17: They say the scales are blind, but we keep seeing coloring.
- 25:36Speaker 17: The verdicts are a side underneath that canopy.
- 25:42Speaker 3: The truth still needs the life, who came close.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Who made the move, who started up to fight.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Austin's life was precious.
- 25:53Speaker 1: His family feels the pain, but Carmela deserves fairness, not
- 25:59Speaker 1: a system. Bill don't shame.
- 26:02Speaker 18: Where is the justice for black Keith? Where is the
- 26:09Speaker 18: true When the story gets told by the self, the
- 26:16Speaker 18: face look different, where the child.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Is black and Mold America, We'll watch it.
- 26:31Speaker 2: We're child.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Of the games. If justice, if everybody in justice is
- 26:45Speaker 3: just the name.
- 26:48Speaker 1: We've seen cases walk away when they claim they feed
- 26:51Speaker 1: for life.
- 26:53Speaker 3: But when our children.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Say the same, they face the sharpest night. Some getting verses,
- 27:00Speaker 1: some get freedom, some get room to explain. But black
- 27:05Speaker 1: youth meet the courtroom already carry him blame.
- 27:10Speaker 3: We remember other story, We remember every name.
- 27:16Speaker 1: The ones who got no justice, the one swallowed by
- 27:19Speaker 1: the system's flame. If Anna played the role that day,
- 27:23Speaker 1: let truth stand tall and clear. Accountability must matter no
- 27:29Speaker 1: matter whose name we here.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Where is the justice for our black kid? Where is
- 27:39Speaker 3: the truth? When the story gets cold? Why the sun
- 27:46Speaker 3: it is?
- 27:47Speaker 6: Look when the child is black and Mold America, We'll
- 27:59Speaker 6: watch it.
- 28:01Speaker 2: We're tied all the game, just.
- 28:09Speaker 3: They for everybody, just disgust the name.
- 28:18Speaker 1: We don't ask for favor, we don't ask for lies.
- 28:24Speaker 1: We ask for equal treatment underneath the same, Scott, look
- 28:30Speaker 1: at every witness, every action.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Every fact. Don't paint one.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Child guilty while the system turns its back. Austin should
- 28:41Speaker 1: be mourned. Yes, his life was not in pain, but
- 28:46Speaker 1: Carmelo was still a child caught inside this pain, two
- 28:52Speaker 1: families forever change.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Two futures torn apart.
- 28:57Speaker 1: But justice must be honest if it's coming from the heart.
- 29:04Speaker 1: How many black sons must learn to fear the street?
- 29:09Speaker 1: How many black mothers pray when they hear police. How
- 29:15Speaker 1: many courtrooms will the side before they know that our
- 29:20Speaker 1: children are.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Not monstros They have dreams that need to grow.
- 29:25Speaker 15: So we sing for the unheard, for the families in despair,
- 29:30Speaker 15: for the children facing systems that were never felt fair.
- 29:36Speaker 15: We sing for truth and healing. Do we sing against
- 29:40Speaker 15: the lie? The black pain should be silent? Well it
- 29:45Speaker 15: justice passes by.
- 29:48Speaker 19: Where is the justice for our black kids? Where is
- 29:54Speaker 19: the truth when the story gets told? Why the saft fan?
- 30:03Speaker 3: No good friends?
- 30:05Speaker 6: We're a child's black and pull.
- 30:11Speaker 3: A man a child. We're watching, We're calling out you name.
- 30:23Speaker 3: It's just as they made They're justice. It's just a name.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Justice for Aston means truth must be known. Justice for
- 30:40Speaker 1: Carmelo means fairness must be shown, no bias, no silence,
- 30:47Speaker 1: no system playing games. Justice must be equal and justice
- 30:53Speaker 1: is just a name.
- 31:03Speaker 9: Yeah, father, we see you work, even when the night
- 31:19Speaker 9: is long. We see your hand moving, turn and.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Sorrow into song in Colin County.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Here the cry.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Let every hidden thing rise with shadows, try to come a.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Truth, shine your lighting, make it do. You are the
- 31:46Speaker 3: judge of all judges. You are the truth that cannot.
- 31:51Speaker 20: Lie what was buried, bringing forward, Let justice rule, Let
- 31:58Speaker 20: justice ride, ah.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Free our mail and.

- 32:14Speaker 13: break every change, shame, Let.
- 32:18Speaker 3: The truth god, Let the god sneeze fall. We see
- 32:25Speaker 3: you working away.
- 32:29Speaker 20: Take away, bring forth the master James, bring forth the
- 32:37Speaker 20: videos to.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Every posting, hidden word. Let it all come into view.
- 32:47Speaker 9: If anyone is lie, Lord, let the truth expose the wrong.
- 32:55Speaker 3: If anyone is pine, let you just stand strong.
- 33:03Speaker 13: None bunch of pasta, no set up shall remain.
- 33:11Speaker 8: What darkness try to cover, you will uncover.
- 33:16Speaker 3: And Jesus name on ballow the name, say his name
- 33:28Speaker 3: to restore his name and freed on.
- 33:31Speaker 7: Lord, break every shade of shame, Let the truth far.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Let the recast today.
- 33:42Speaker 8: Father, we see you working, they go away, they go away.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Father, revenge belost to you, so we place it in
- 33:55Speaker 1: your hands.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Deal with every headd scheme. Let righteousness take a stand.
- 34:05Speaker 15: Silence every false re pam, cancel every wicked plan.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Let no lie, have the final word. Let true the
- 34:17Speaker 3: rise in the land.
- 34:20Speaker 8: Show yourself mind, show yourself strong.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Exclose what is here? Maybe right?
- 34:33Speaker 18: What is wrong?
- 34:36Speaker 11: Do you?
- 34:36Speaker 3: Fan? The air had a sense pay justice Land Where
- 34:44Speaker 3: came on head Heaven, Hollow with power, Sy his names
- 34:58Speaker 3: re start, his name, his name.
- 35:06Speaker 9: Say.
- 35:06Speaker 18: Let the truth time on.
- 35:10Speaker 3: The records follow. We see you working, Mango make away free,
- 35:23Speaker 3: come Headle, Let the truth be free, come to freedom.
- 35:34Speaker 13: Let this come, Sol say,
