- 0:18Speaker 2: Turner Glory Podcast, Merry Christmas or coming up soon Merry Christmas,
- 0:23Speaker 2: Hunter's Arburn at Austin rose To kinda Free tag will
- 0:26Speaker 2: be joining shortly.
- 0:27Speaker 3: It's bull week. We have not said that.
- 0:30Speaker 4: Wow, what a treat.
- 0:33Speaker 2: We've never said it on this podcast five six years
- 0:36Speaker 2: and here we are for the first time, Nebraska playing
- 0:39Speaker 2: in a bowl game.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Who did we last day? Who did we last playing
- 0:43Speaker 4: the ball? Who was in Tennessee? Was it?
- 0:47Speaker 3: It might have been U. C.
- 0:48Speaker 1: L A.
- 0:48Speaker 4: I think potentially, you're right, yep, yeah, you're right. That
- 0:53Speaker 4: is what can I remember? We absolutely ran it down
- 0:55Speaker 4: their throat.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Yep.
- 0:57Speaker 2: It's been a while, and especially around the holidays here
- 1:03Speaker 2: normally we're checked in or not really on much football talk.
- 1:07Speaker 2: It's basketball season, which we'll get to that here in
- 1:11Speaker 2: a little bit. Huskers play tonight against Hawaii on Monday
- 1:15Speaker 2: evening in the semi finals of the Diamond Headed Classic.
- 1:20Speaker 2: But this year we have like a lot of stuff.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I feel like, I'm not gonna call it the off season,
- 1:25Speaker 2: but with this portal, it's just it's a lot and
- 1:31Speaker 2: we've updated you every week. We have some now incoming
- 1:37Speaker 2: players since we last spoke, and I don't know. I
- 1:42Speaker 2: don't want to spend a ton of time on this
- 1:44Speaker 2: because I feel like we could do this every episode
- 1:46Speaker 2: and it's just blah blah blah. And I'm not big
- 1:50Speaker 2: into the portal or recruiting until I.
- 1:51Speaker 3: See him play, Like That's kind of how my mind
- 1:53Speaker 3: is now. It is fun to get excited about him,
- 1:56Speaker 3: I guess, but that's my opinion on the portal.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Like great add some players we see like, oh, former
- 2:03Speaker 2: four star, I'm like, well, it doesn't mean anything to
- 2:06Speaker 2: me right now.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Now down the road we'll see.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Yeah, to an extent. I mean, it is still talent
- 2:16Speaker 4: that most of the people though that are transferring that
- 2:19Speaker 4: we're getting our people who have like four years of
- 2:21Speaker 4: eligibility or three years of eligibility, so we've only seen
- 2:23Speaker 4: them for a year. It's not like this person that
- 2:26Speaker 4: we've seen for three years and you're like, oh, this
- 2:28Speaker 4: guy's good, and we feel good about saying that because
- 2:31Speaker 4: there's actual film on him. It's not you know, like
- 2:34Speaker 4: the five star defensive end from Missouri. It's like you
- 2:37Speaker 4: didn't even play really last year.
- 2:39Speaker 2: So you're right, yeah, and you don't know why, Like
- 2:41Speaker 2: you don't we don't know anything about the schools. We
- 2:43Speaker 2: can read stuff and say, oh, well, here's why because
- 2:46Speaker 2: we read this, this, and this from Missouri and it
- 2:51Speaker 2: doesn't to me.
- 2:53Speaker 3: At a whole lot of value, I guess, but it is.
- 3:00Speaker 2: It's fun to still talk about. It makes it busy
- 3:02Speaker 2: during this time of the year. And then we're adding
- 3:04Speaker 2: a bowl game this year, so it's very different than
- 3:07Speaker 2: the year's pass on the podcast. So I think last
- 3:14Speaker 2: Monday we just heard of Dante Daldell since he has
- 3:21Speaker 2: signed at was it Kentucky? I think I've heard the Wildcats,
- 3:27Speaker 2: So there goes Dowdall. I heard there's probably a lot
- 3:30Speaker 2: of money offered there. That's what we're saying. Maybe true,
- 3:33Speaker 2: I'm not sure. And then here's what we've gotten since
- 3:37Speaker 2: last Monday edition of the defensive line transfer from Tennessee
- 3:43Speaker 2: State Jalen George. I mean he's got two years left.
- 3:48Speaker 2: He is a second defensive lineman after the Missouri transfer
- 3:54Speaker 2: that that you mentioned, and then we added a punter,
- 3:56Speaker 2: Jack McAllister.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Uh and he has been a Washington the past few years.
- 4:01Speaker 2: So if you watch National Championship last year, he had
- 4:05Speaker 2: a fifty six yard boot. So he will most likely
- 4:10Speaker 2: be our punter next year, replacing Boushini since Bushini is
- 4:16Speaker 2: is a senior. And then on Thursday, we added Isaiah Hunter,
- 4:24Speaker 2: who was the cow number one receiver for this year.
- 4:27Speaker 2: He had forty catches for five and seventy eight yards
- 4:29Speaker 2: and five touchdowns, leading the Golden Bears this year. He
- 4:33Speaker 2: was a former four star. He still has three years left.
- 4:36Speaker 2: That was a big get. I think that was one
- 4:38Speaker 2: of the big targets on the offensive side of the
- 4:40Speaker 2: ball that will immediately make an impact on in data
- 4:45Speaker 2: holders since offense and then defensive linemen gave more for
- 4:50Speaker 2: Mississippi State. He was a three star cruit but didn't play.
- 4:55Speaker 2: He's got four years left. A couple other defensive guys,
- 5:01Speaker 2: Justin Rhett from Georgia safety four star Kurt twenty three
- 5:05Speaker 2: class two didn't play much past couple of years. He
- 5:10Speaker 2: has three years left. And then a big one from
- 5:12Speaker 2: Oklahoma and Dak's not on here to add his commentary.
- 5:17Speaker 3: He told me he was not very good, but.
- 5:22Speaker 4: To say that leaves hey, Yeah.
- 5:24Speaker 2: The Saan mccola from Oklahoma linebacker sounds like he might
- 5:29Speaker 2: be playing some safety for us. He had seventeen tackles
- 5:35Speaker 2: this last season. And he has one year left as well.
- 5:38Speaker 2: He was a freshman All American twenty two twenty three.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Probably will replace Isaac Gifford. I'm in the rover and
- 5:46Speaker 2: then quarterback. We got a quarterback in the headline. I
- 5:50Speaker 2: saw when I saw this was talented, I'm like, great.
- 5:54Speaker 4: We'll never see him touch the ball.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Hopefully produced third stringer Marco's de Villa red shirted during
- 6:02Speaker 2: his freshman year. He's got four years left. Coming from Midland,
- 6:07Speaker 2: Texas top fifty year crew in last year's class. He
- 6:10Speaker 2: probably won't be Dylan's backup, hope. Like you said, hopefully.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Never probably never see him.
- 6:16Speaker 2: But I just laughed. I heard the headline was added
- 6:19Speaker 2: a talented quarterback. I'm like, man, this guy must be talented.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Backing up produced two quarterbacks ahead of him.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Yeah and yeah, I know, I know exactly. Yeah. Not
- 6:32Speaker 4: that Purdue had a great passing game this year, but
- 6:37Speaker 4: you know he was really good. He backed up the backup.
- 6:40Speaker 4: I mean that's important to have that kind of depth
- 6:42Speaker 4: on such a past heavy offense. Traditional gikes, he'll be fine.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Like I said, hopefully we never see him. Glad we
- 6:51Speaker 4: have him, Hopefully we never see him.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It's just a lot of new names that we're going
- 6:58Speaker 2: to continue to hear, not just now, but continued on
- 7:04Speaker 2: when the portal opens back up or I'm not even
- 7:08Speaker 2: sure when when this period is.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I know it shuts down for a little bit and
- 7:10Speaker 3: then opens back up.
- 7:11Speaker 2: So we're getting guys now, is what I think is
- 7:16Speaker 2: the good news. Again, don't know what they're going to
- 7:18Speaker 2: be like, but you hear the name, you know where
- 7:21Speaker 2: they're coming from. I think, just like Nebraska basketball every year,
- 7:24Speaker 2: and we've seen this the past four or five years
- 7:26Speaker 2: where we're just like, oh, don't know who this guy is,
- 7:29Speaker 2: Let's watch him.
- 7:30Speaker 3: It takes a few games to get to.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Get to know them. That's what football is going to
- 7:35Speaker 2: be more like it really is. It's just the reality
- 7:38Speaker 2: of it. And it's fun to see the names. It's
- 7:41Speaker 2: fun to see what pieces we can put together.
- 7:44Speaker 4: I think.
- 7:46Speaker 2: One of the strengths as we talked about this coaching
- 7:49Speaker 2: staff and now adding Dana, is potentially selling these players
- 7:53Speaker 2: and and and the nil funds that we have in
- 7:56Speaker 2: Nebraska to get some top notch recruits here even though
- 8:02Speaker 2: we have not been really producing on the field. And
- 8:07Speaker 2: one of the hust Girl Line podcasts recently just talked
- 8:09Speaker 2: about how you know there's still hype, there's still fans
- 8:13Speaker 2: going to games, there's still everybody wanting brass Gon to
- 8:16Speaker 2: be back. Now, that's why we can still land some
- 8:20Speaker 2: of these guys from these big schools.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I think that time is limited.
- 8:23Speaker 2: In the next ten to fifteen years, It's not always
- 8:26Speaker 2: going to be like this if we don't flip the switch.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Ten talked about that.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Ten to fifteen might even be along. I'm curious because
- 8:35Speaker 4: for me, this is definitely how I feel. But when
- 8:37Speaker 4: you like this last season, did you do you feel
- 8:40Speaker 4: differently about the players that transfer in, Like when you're
- 8:42Speaker 4: watching them, you're like, yeah, I hope they do well,
- 8:44Speaker 4: but do you just do you feel different about them?
- 8:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 8:51Speaker 2: It's strange, right, I don't really think of them.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I guess as.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Same level is the recruits to say to say, but
- 9:02Speaker 2: at the same time, it's like they're still now your
- 9:05Speaker 2: team for this year, so.
- 9:08Speaker 3: You want him to produce.
- 9:09Speaker 2: But I yeah, I agree, Like Jamal Banks and Isaya Nayor,
- 9:13Speaker 2: I wasn't like you just didn't.
- 9:16Speaker 4: I don't know how to describe it, but like you're like,
- 9:19Speaker 4: I'm happy that they're doing well, but like when Barney's
- 9:22Speaker 4: going off, you're like, man, that guy's a you know,
- 9:24Speaker 4: like oh or even you know, the running back room,
- 9:27Speaker 4: it's like, man, and I really like that what Evan
- 9:29Speaker 4: Johnson's doing. But even though Dad Dell's doing really well,
- 9:32Speaker 4: it's just I don't know, I don't know if it's
- 9:33Speaker 4: some weird.
- 9:35Speaker 3: And maybe a little bit subconsciously as a product of
- 9:38Speaker 3: the youth, and you want guy young guys to do
- 9:42Speaker 3: well because you know they're going to be here longer,
- 9:44Speaker 3: likenyor and Banks, Like I just thought they were one
- 9:46Speaker 3: one hit wonders, like if they work great, they don't
- 9:48Speaker 3: like they're only going to be here for a year,
- 9:50Speaker 3: which is.
- 9:52Speaker 4: I felt that way about Ben Scott, like I was like, man,
- 9:55Speaker 4: he's a good center. But there's still like this bit
- 9:57Speaker 4: of like, yeah, he came here, like you know, like
- 9:59Speaker 4: he I don't want to I'm trying to figure out
- 10:04Speaker 4: how can I phrase this, but it just it feels
- 10:06Speaker 4: like a transplant. You know. It's like you're not you're
- 10:11Speaker 4: not from here. That's not how to describe it, are.
- 10:17Speaker 5: You you know, what do you say?
- 10:21Speaker 4: What do you say? I just want to know if
- 10:23Speaker 4: you were drinking.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Nope, Oh all right, I just want.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Okay, we just got done talking about how we're super
- 10:32Speaker 4: excited about the Oklahoma transfer and now we think he's
- 10:34Speaker 4: going to change our defense.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm be honest you. I don't know anything about him.
- 10:38Speaker 5: I texted Hunter. He sucks. I really don't know anything
- 10:41Speaker 5: about that guy.
- 10:42Speaker 2: You don't know anything because you're not a fan. You
- 10:44Speaker 2: don't actually know the players. You can't even deny it
- 10:50Speaker 2: at this point.
- 10:52Speaker 5: I know, Oh my got a heck of a transfer. QB.
- 10:55Speaker 5: That's true, Jeometur.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Apparently Baker Mayfield sold him on that one.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Yep, he did. He went and talked him into it.
- 11:03Speaker 5: So they're back there.
- 11:04Speaker 4: You go.
- 11:05Speaker 5: You guys, tell me about the Christmas hats tonight.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Well, it wasn't planned. We just happened to both have
- 11:10Speaker 4: them on.
- 11:12Speaker 3: And where's yours?
- 11:14Speaker 5: Actually? I lost it? I then you go find it.
- 11:17Speaker 3: You're the only one at a Christmas party right now too.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Now we're not. It's not a party.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Oh.
- 11:23Speaker 5: Just to get together, yep, just to get together, all right.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Nebraska Boston College the bad Boy Mower's Pin Stripe Bull
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yankee Stadium this Saturday, December twenty eighth I saw the
- 11:46Speaker 2: line move again.
- 11:48Speaker 3: It's up to three and a half.
- 11:51Speaker 2: It's hard to know with players playing the only ones
- 11:55Speaker 2: right now. I think from Nebraska's standpoint that we haven't
- 11:58Speaker 2: heard anything but that were still up in the air
- 12:01Speaker 2: on is how much is Tye and Nash gonna play?
- 12:03Speaker 2: We would assume they're gonna play the whole game. They're
- 12:07Speaker 2: both most likely going to get drafted or at least
- 12:13Speaker 2: be looked at by NFL teams, and you know there's
- 12:16Speaker 2: obvious people that opt out.
- 12:18Speaker 3: I think they're gonna play.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I just don't see how they're gonna sit there in
- 12:21Speaker 2: the sideline and watch this Bowl game their entire career. Yeah,
- 12:28Speaker 2: I think they're gonna play. Other than that, I think
- 12:30Speaker 2: we know who's playing from from our depth chart standpoint,
- 12:34Speaker 2: we know Heinert got moved to tight end. So our
- 12:37Speaker 2: quarterback room now, Jalen Grahamstead is the number two backing
- 12:40Speaker 2: up Dylan Rayola. We know the running back room is
- 12:43Speaker 2: going to be Emmett and Ramiir. Hopefully Ramire can get
- 12:47Speaker 2: on the field it sounds like he can, and then
- 12:48Speaker 2: Quinn and Ives is gonna probably get some heavy workload
- 12:51Speaker 2: there as well. You know, a wide receiver room doesn't
- 12:53Speaker 2: look much different from the year. Offensive line doesn't look
- 12:57Speaker 2: much different. On the defense the side, we got some
- 13:01Speaker 2: change change of names, but still a lot of guys
- 13:03Speaker 2: that played a lot of snaps this year. It's not
- 13:06Speaker 2: like all the guys that left. They played every snap
- 13:11Speaker 2: right every game. So you know you're you're here gonna
- 13:14Speaker 2: hear a lot of the same names. It's just at
- 13:16Speaker 2: the depth behind them. If we still sub and rotate
- 13:20Speaker 2: as much as we have, you're gonna see some guys
- 13:22Speaker 2: like Vincent Shavers and Willis mcgahey, Bly Hill and on
- 13:26Speaker 2: the outside, Ramir Stewart, Mario Bufford. Those guys are gonna
- 13:30Speaker 2: get some chances to show what they can do on
- 13:34Speaker 2: the defensive side of the ball. You know, on the
- 13:37Speaker 2: defensive endside, Cameron Lenhard and Riley Van Poppol like, those
- 13:40Speaker 2: guys are going to play a lot of minutes on Saturday.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And and I think those are guys that I don't
- 13:46Speaker 2: feel like it's gonna be a huge step off, but
- 13:49Speaker 2: we're gonna find out against Boston College who.
- 13:53Speaker 3: They're not.
- 13:54Speaker 2: They're not the flashiest of offenses, but there they're more
- 13:57Speaker 2: run heavy. They would fit in pretty well with the
- 14:01Speaker 2: Big Ten based on the style that they.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Run well former head coach Well, current head coach, former
- 14:08Speaker 4: Big Ten head coach Boston College. But yeah, I think
- 14:14Speaker 4: our depth chart seems fine. I agree. You look on
- 14:18Speaker 4: the defensive side, there's no surprises I don't like. I mean,
- 14:23Speaker 4: what is the biggest surprise on the depth chart that
- 14:26Speaker 4: doesn't seem like it could be a regular season game?
- 14:30Speaker 4: Maybe just a couple of the red shirt freshmen popping
- 14:32Speaker 4: up as second second stringers.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yep, I mean that's what it is.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Yeah, Which, honestly, I'm more excited to see some of
- 14:40Speaker 4: those guys, Like, obviously I want to win the ball game,
- 14:43Speaker 4: but it'd be you know, I can kind of see
- 14:45Speaker 4: with Graham Bricks looks like he was, you know, a
- 14:47Speaker 4: highly touted offensive line recruit. Like what does he looked
- 14:50Speaker 4: like after a year of sitting.
- 14:56Speaker 5: A lot a lot about these ball games. They've seen
- 14:58Speaker 5: what you got coming in next year too, Like, I mean,
- 15:01Speaker 5: the good part about it is, like you said, BOSCN
- 15:04Speaker 5: just does not have my high playing offense at all.
- 15:06Speaker 5: And I who's in playing quarterback for them because Castiano
- 15:09Speaker 5: is transferred.
- 15:10Speaker 4: It's the guy who started the last couple of games
- 15:12Speaker 4: for them.
- 15:12Speaker 3: You didn't do your research for the podcast, did you know?
- 15:14Speaker 4: I did not.
- 15:18Speaker 5: That's all I looked at.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Games. Will be the starting quarterback for him.
- 15:23Speaker 2: He's thrown for about a thousand yards on the year,
- 15:27Speaker 2: sixty four completion percent, six touchdowns, two picks, so he's
- 15:30Speaker 2: only started the past couple of games. He's not the
- 15:32Speaker 2: running threat that Thomas Castillanos was when he was starting
- 15:37Speaker 2: at quarterback. But they do have four guys that have
- 15:40Speaker 2: all rushed for over two hundred yards at running back.
- 15:43Speaker 2: They they've rotated these guys a lot. The leader is
- 15:45Speaker 2: Kyle Robashik. He's rushed for seven hundred yards in the year,
- 15:50Speaker 2: ten touchdowns. He's going to be the guy to key
- 15:52Speaker 2: in on on the defensive side of the ball, but
- 15:56Speaker 2: they do they want to establish the run early and
- 16:00Speaker 2: and it's gonna be led by by Robochick there at
- 16:03Speaker 2: the running back position. Grayson James is going to be
- 16:06Speaker 2: your typical Big ten quarterback's He's he's not gonna be flashy,
- 16:10Speaker 2: but our defenses make these guys look a lot better than.
- 16:16Speaker 3: They typically are.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Their offense scores twenty nine point three points a game,
- 16:22Speaker 2: that ranks them about right smack dab in the middle,
- 16:24Speaker 2: sixtieth in the country. They pass for one hundred and
- 16:26Speaker 2: ninety one yards one hundred and sixth and then one
- 16:29Speaker 2: hundred and seventy six rushing yards per game, which puts
- 16:32Speaker 2: him at forty seventh.
- 16:33Speaker 3: So that gives you a high.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Level overview of what they what they want to do
- 16:36Speaker 2: on offense. But it's a ball game, you have. I
- 16:40Speaker 2: feel like we've had an eternity to prepare for a
- 16:42Speaker 2: game like this. I guess we don't really know because
- 16:44Speaker 2: we've never been in a game like this, but it
- 16:47Speaker 2: just feels like it's been a long time without playing
- 16:50Speaker 2: a game, and you're gonna see wrinkles and different things
- 16:52Speaker 2: that both teams are gonna try to do.
- 16:54Speaker 4: I just don't know how good of a team Boston
- 16:57Speaker 4: College was this year. I mean they're seven to five,
- 17:00Speaker 4: but you look at there, it's like they beat Florida State.
- 17:02Speaker 4: But this is before we do. Florida State sucked. They
- 17:05Speaker 4: hung Missouri, They almost beat Missouri. Yeah, like they were
- 17:09Speaker 4: right there against Missouri. They beat Michigan State, which I
- 17:12Speaker 4: mean big ten t none that they were good. Yeah,
- 17:17Speaker 4: they hung with us. You only lost by ten beat
- 17:20Speaker 4: North Carolina, beat Pitt beat Syracuse. Like those aren't bad wins,
- 17:26Speaker 4: but so.
- 17:26Speaker 5: They'll they'll be a really good test here. I can't
- 17:32Speaker 5: believe that line is moving in that direction. I figured
- 17:35Speaker 5: it moved down because it was moving down because what
- 17:37Speaker 5: it started out four and a half when it first
- 17:40Speaker 5: when the ball game first got announced, I think, and
- 17:43Speaker 5: then then dropped down two and a half. I thought,
- 17:47Speaker 5: didn't keep on moving towards Boston College.
- 17:48Speaker 2: But the only loss that they had to a team
- 17:53Speaker 2: that didn't make a bull game was the Virginia. Yeah,
- 17:56Speaker 2: so their schedule, it's not like it's the flashiest, but
- 18:01Speaker 2: they do have some decent wins there as well. It
- 18:05Speaker 2: let's be real, you get what you're gonna get when
- 18:06Speaker 2: you're six and six and you're seven and five, like
- 18:08Speaker 2: this is the bowl game. You get two teams never
- 18:10Speaker 2: played each other from Power five conferences. You know, first
- 18:15Speaker 2: year head coach Bill O'Brien. You mentioned a guy that
- 18:18Speaker 2: we looked at as a candidate before we were wanted.
- 18:23Speaker 2: We were we were excited about and I've always liked
- 18:25Speaker 2: Bill O'Brien teams, and and you know this offense is
- 18:29Speaker 2: that he coached Alabama. I just I think he's a
- 18:32Speaker 2: tough minded has the right style of of a football
- 18:35Speaker 2: coach that I tend to agree with, so he it's
- 18:39Speaker 2: gonna be. I don't expect this game to be a blowout,
- 18:43Speaker 2: and either way, I actually expected to be kind of
- 18:44Speaker 2: a low scoring, grinded game for the most part.
- 18:50Speaker 4: Do we know what the weather is supposed to be?
- 18:51Speaker 2: Like I heard grain, I heard some rain changed, so
- 18:58Speaker 2: I'm not sure that benefits anybody.
- 19:00Speaker 5: It says thirty nine and cloudy right now. Okay, so
- 19:05Speaker 5: nothing nothing too crazy, but you can get in right
- 19:10Speaker 5: now forty five bucks.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Forty five bucks, get in the stadium.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Do you think there'll be a lot of Husker fans
- 19:17Speaker 5: going to this I would imagine because it's been so long, but.
- 19:21Speaker 4: It's also not like a place that old people want
- 19:23Speaker 4: to go to. No, I think it's I think there's
- 19:27Speaker 4: a lot of Husker fans in New York. I think
- 19:30Speaker 4: just from old regime. There's just probably a good Fari show.
- 19:36Speaker 5: I don't I don't think Boston call, I mean Boscotch
- 19:38Speaker 5: is up the road. I don't think they're gonna bring
- 19:39Speaker 5: that many people there though, Like it'll be probably eighty
- 19:43Speaker 5: twenty Husker fans there.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see. I'll be I'll be curious what who
- 19:50Speaker 3: shows up.
- 19:50Speaker 2: I think there will be a lot, just because we
- 19:52Speaker 2: haven't been in a while and New York City is
- 19:54Speaker 2: a place that you can make a extra few days.
- 19:57Speaker 2: And I know, like the team went out early and
- 20:00Speaker 2: to get prepared. I think they're practicing in Central Park today,
- 20:04Speaker 2: which is kind of cool. I know there's gonna be
- 20:05Speaker 2: a lot of things for fans to do that want
- 20:07Speaker 2: to go out there, so I would expect there to
- 20:09Speaker 2: be some things. I know people are complaining about the weather,
- 20:12Speaker 2: but it's not like it's that much different than what
- 20:16Speaker 2: we're used to in the Midwest.
- 20:18Speaker 4: I just don't want to burn vacation in December to
- 20:21Speaker 4: go to a colder place, you know.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Flipping over other side of the ball.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Boston College very average defensively too, right in the middle
- 20:35Speaker 2: on all of their passing rushing points. The big thing
- 20:39Speaker 2: to note here is Donovan as a ROKU. He's the
- 20:44Speaker 2: leading sack player in the country, has the most sacks
- 20:48Speaker 2: in the country of any other player. He's their leading
- 20:50Speaker 2: tackler as well, with eighty total tackles. He is not
- 20:53Speaker 2: playing to prepare for the NFL.
- 20:59Speaker 4: It's yeah, player of the year, not playing great, thank you, Yes.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Like we'll take it.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Yeah, more than half their sacks, yeah, I mean.
- 21:10Speaker 4: He has like almost yeah, he has half of their
- 21:13Speaker 4: sacks here, I say.
- 21:14Speaker 2: The next highest guy in sacks is is Quintavious Hutcheons
- 21:17Speaker 2: with three and a half.
- 21:18Speaker 3: So like.
- 21:22Speaker 2: That's a big breath of the year when it comes
- 21:25Speaker 2: to what we're gonna do on offense. A lot of
- 21:28Speaker 2: talk with Dana this week and last week just about
- 21:33Speaker 2: the future, mainly with the transfer portal. I'll be curious
- 21:37Speaker 2: with now more weeks of practice, we're not all game week,
- 21:40Speaker 2: game week, game week, And Dana mentioned it, like we
- 21:42Speaker 2: had nine basically camp type practices before we had to
- 21:47Speaker 2: get the game week. And he said that is not
- 21:50Speaker 2: anything he's used to either. When you play in a
- 21:52Speaker 2: bowl game, normally you're out recruiting, you're on the road.
- 21:56Speaker 2: It just doesn't happen as much anymore. With the portal
- 21:58Speaker 2: and now obviously being able to do everything virtually, so
- 22:02Speaker 2: he's had a lot more time now to install some
- 22:05Speaker 2: of the things that he probably sees that will be
- 22:08Speaker 2: good for this game but also for the future. And
- 22:10Speaker 2: he said it he doesn't. He doesn't want to go
- 22:12Speaker 2: four or five wide. I think that kind of tells
- 22:16Speaker 2: and some of that might be playing to the fans
- 22:20Speaker 2: emotions too, but I think that's also talking about what
- 22:25Speaker 2: style and personnel identity that he wants to show as
- 22:29Speaker 2: not that's coordinator in with Dylan. I'll say this with Dylan,
- 22:35Speaker 2: he needs to be more mobile, at least a little bit,
- 22:39Speaker 2: and probably lose a little weight. And I'm sure we'll
- 22:41Speaker 2: hear it come August that he's looking better and slimmer
- 22:44Speaker 2: and able to move like that's just that's what all happened.
- 22:47Speaker 2: But I think that's probably a direction that we need
- 22:49Speaker 2: to go. Might maybe we'll see some of this game,
- 22:52Speaker 2: maybe we won't, but I think that's one big enhancement
- 22:54Speaker 2: that needs to be made before next year.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess, I don't know. I feel like there
- 23:04Speaker 4: are other enhancements to be made before then, but I
- 23:07Speaker 4: guess I don't know if the mobility is the I mean,
- 23:13Speaker 4: it's definitely a rinkle. I understand what you're saying, and
- 23:16Speaker 4: I agreed we needed that so for certain games, I
- 23:18Speaker 4: don't know if this is one of those games.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I'm not saying run for ten ten times a game.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I'm just saying in the pocket to be able to
- 23:24Speaker 2: be elusive a little bit.
- 23:26Speaker 5: Like make the defense worry about it a little bit.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yep, last thing on the offense, and actually we'll do that.
- 23:37Speaker 2: We can do this now before we do our score predictions.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Any any Christmas wish list gifts for the Huskers.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Give me a good, big old left tackle man.
- 23:49Speaker 2: That was that's on top of my list is offensive lineman.
- 23:54Speaker 2: It does frustrate me because until Rule said it the
- 23:58Speaker 2: other day, no one wants to talking about how we
- 24:01Speaker 2: offensive lineman, how we need to get Now now he said.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Everybody's like, yeah, that's right, we need an offensive lineman.
- 24:06Speaker 2: We are still the most important position on the field
- 24:09Speaker 2: in my mind, maybe outside of quarterback, but I still
- 24:11Speaker 2: think we've seen you have a good quarterback.
- 24:13Speaker 3: If your offensive line shitty, it ain't gonna be good.
- 24:18Speaker 2: So let's let's let's find a couple of offensive linemen
- 24:23Speaker 2: in the portals. Let's pay him some dollars and get
- 24:26Speaker 2: them here. And they're not as prevalent.
- 24:30Speaker 4: In the transfort. I don't know if that's just the
- 24:33Speaker 4: type of individual who's an offensive lineman, but there's just
- 24:36Speaker 4: not a lot of Yeah, like big name offensive lineman
- 24:38Speaker 4: who entered the portal. I don't know if that's a
- 24:40Speaker 4: factor of like they work in a line so like
- 24:43Speaker 4: it's a team of five, so you feel a little
- 24:44Speaker 4: more connected to your team and your development and your coach.
- 24:48Speaker 4: I don't know that's an observation. I was gonna mention too.
- 24:52Speaker 5: It's just and when there is a really good when
- 24:54Speaker 5: it comes out, everybody goes after him like it's it's
- 24:58Speaker 5: you just won't find a alid offensive lineman. That often
- 25:01Speaker 5: the portal that will come to Amasize, Obama, Georgia and
- 25:04Speaker 5: all those schools, like it's hard to find recruiting is
- 25:07Speaker 5: where you get your offensive lineman. More.
- 25:10Speaker 4: That's the rule of saying. You said the best way
- 25:12Speaker 4: to develop to get an offensive lineman is you want
- 25:15Speaker 4: to get them, redshirt them a year and then by
- 25:18Speaker 4: year three have them started.
- 25:20Speaker 5: Which is do you guys think in the portal why
- 25:22Speaker 5: it's harder. It's because they those linemen get developed with
- 25:25Speaker 5: the same coaches and they just want to stay there
- 25:27Speaker 5: since they've been a freshman or wivenan I mean and
- 25:30Speaker 5: them leaving.
- 25:31Speaker 4: I mean they're in a ton of offensive linemen that
- 25:34Speaker 4: get a few snaps, you know, like your starters start.
- 25:38Speaker 4: You don't really rotate your offensive lineman during the game
- 25:42Speaker 4: like you do the defensive line. So if you're not
- 25:44Speaker 4: seeing any any like oh, this guy showed some flashes,
- 25:48Speaker 4: unless someone gets hurt.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a lot of what you said, Austin.
- 25:55Speaker 2: In the mindset the type of players and offensive lineman are.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I just think they're they're very just the good ones.
- 26:03Speaker 2: You know they're they're they're tough minded, they want to
- 26:06Speaker 2: and also offensive lineman. You don't talk about development as
- 26:11Speaker 2: far as your body and your physique when you get
- 26:14Speaker 2: to college, Like these kids are still growing by the
- 26:19Speaker 2: time they get to college, and that's why you'll see
- 26:21Speaker 2: players put on someone much muscle and change their bodies
- 26:24Speaker 2: from when they come in as freshmen to when they
- 26:26Speaker 2: leave as seniors. When you're skill players, a lot of times,
- 26:30Speaker 2: I think it's a very different type of sculpting your
- 26:34Speaker 2: body for that position. I don't think you're wanting, obviously
- 26:38Speaker 2: to put on twenty pounds as a wide receiver or
- 26:40Speaker 2: the offensive linemen. You see guys that are built their
- 26:44Speaker 2: mindset's built more for the long term process of this
- 26:46Speaker 2: is what we're.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Doing with you.
- 26:47Speaker 2: You're coming in as a freshman sophomore. By the time
- 26:51Speaker 2: you're a junior, this is when you're going to be
- 26:53Speaker 2: at your peak.
- 26:54Speaker 4: I think that's kind of the message you're in the
- 26:56Speaker 4: program at that point, like you're like, I've admitted to
- 26:59Speaker 4: this pro We're gonna like if I stop now, I
- 27:01Speaker 4: might mess up my whole trajectory.
- 27:05Speaker 2: That that's that's my thought on it. When when when
- 27:07Speaker 2: when you're receiver, you're just like, well, I'm gonna get used.
- 27:11Speaker 2: If I don't get us, I'm gonna get pissed, and
- 27:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna leave ja.
- 27:14Speaker 4: Corey is probably gonna look pretty similar physically his senior
- 27:18Speaker 4: year as he is this year. It might be a
- 27:20Speaker 4: little taller and a little bit thicker, but it's gonna
- 27:23Speaker 4: be pretty close.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Isn't that one more thing that I really need is
- 27:29Speaker 5: a big wide receiver. I feel like like a guy
- 27:32Speaker 5: that possession wide receiver. Basically, I feel like there's just
- 27:37Speaker 5: not that much height on the wide receiver depth chart.
- 27:40Speaker 2: And and that's what we talked about this before you
- 27:42Speaker 2: got on back because you're late and couldn't figure how
- 27:45Speaker 2: to get your own time with some of the receivers.
- 27:48Speaker 2: That we're getting the Hunter kid, and there's another one
- 27:50Speaker 2: that coming from Kentucky that we think were potentially the
- 27:54Speaker 2: top top target for dan Key I think is his name.
- 27:59Speaker 2: So I think those are two guys that you know,
- 28:04Speaker 2: will hopefully help impact that room. But I think there's
- 28:06Speaker 2: still a lot of guys there that are are going
- 28:08Speaker 2: to still help us young guys. I mean, you want
- 28:13Speaker 2: to look at the well Dak's guy, Isaiah Garcia cast
- 28:17Speaker 2: today is gone.
- 28:18Speaker 5: He's probably come back. He once he got five more
- 28:20Speaker 5: years left.
- 28:23Speaker 2: But I mean we're gonna get guys like uh, you know,
- 28:25Speaker 2: Jayleen Lloyd's coming back to someone that didn't see a
- 28:27Speaker 2: lot of snaps potentially, and we got Alex Follock. It
- 28:31Speaker 2: feels like he's been here forever, but he's still around.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Not that we want him starting, but I agree getting
- 28:37Speaker 2: a couple of playmakers guys that we can get excited
- 28:40Speaker 2: for there.
- 28:43Speaker 3: That'll help.
- 28:44Speaker 5: Well, you thought you thought you have that nair this
- 28:46Speaker 5: year and that didn't work out. I don't like, I
- 28:48Speaker 5: thought it was gonna be a lot better than he did.
- 28:50Speaker 5: He was okay, not they.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Were good, not over the top.
- 28:54Speaker 5: Yeah, well that's that's what we thought. He would be like,
- 28:57Speaker 5: and I he is not.
- 29:03Speaker 4: I just don't think he was used properly the first
- 29:05Speaker 4: games of the year.
- 29:08Speaker 5: To me a little drop an eye when I heard
- 29:10Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 29:10Speaker 2: But yeah, uh score predictions before we do that ull
- 29:18Speaker 2: trivia question. Nebraska has played in fifty three bowl games
- 29:22Speaker 2: in its history. What is our bowl game? You gotta
- 29:28Speaker 2: be like thirty nine fourteen?
- 29:34Speaker 4: Said that up?
- 29:35Speaker 5: Yeah, that's fifty three, thirty five and what okay, I
- 29:50Speaker 5: thirty five, give me fifty three?
- 29:53Speaker 3: Keep going Nope, you got it, you got.
- 29:55Speaker 5: It, thirty five, thirty five and twenty eight close. You're
- 30:05Speaker 5: about ten of thirty five eighteen.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Uh, my guess would have been around there too. We
- 30:13Speaker 2: are twenty six and twenty seven.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Wow.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Wow, we are sub five hundred. I would not have
- 30:18Speaker 2: thought that. Another fun note is last time we played
- 30:23Speaker 2: in a bowl game in New York City nineteen sixty
- 30:28Speaker 2: two in the Gotham ball that's a cool bull name.
- 30:31Speaker 5: Yeah, see that they messed up. That's what this one
- 30:34Speaker 5: should be called. What was the last ball game? Huskars
- 30:37Speaker 5: are we're in? I can't even remember what it was.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Music were saying it was U E c LA.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Was it a music city? Bowl in CLA.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so.
- 30:49Speaker 5: For some reason, I was thinking Georgia wasn't it.
- 30:53Speaker 2: We played Tennessee at some point and Georgia, It, guys,
- 30:58Speaker 2: is bad that we can't even like figure this out.
- 31:04Speaker 2: It was Tennessee in the twenty sixteen Music City Bowl
- 31:08Speaker 2: against we lost thirty eight twenty four in twenty fifteens
- 31:13Speaker 2: when we played UCLA and the Foster Farms Bowl.
- 31:15Speaker 6: That's what I'm as our last Okay, yeah, that's.
- 31:20Speaker 2: So losing to Rocky top back in twenty sixteen. Score
- 31:24Speaker 2: predictions for the game.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Friends, three and a half. Don't take it, don't take Nebraska.
- 31:33Speaker 4: I guess I would definitely I'm gonna go twenty for
- 31:39Speaker 4: twenty one. Ne Brass, Oh boy, I don't like that. Though.
- 31:48Speaker 4: It is worth pointing out that Boston College has only
- 31:52Speaker 4: attempted attempted four field goals the entire season. That's how
- 31:57Speaker 4: bad they're really.
- 31:59Speaker 5: They don't trust it, that's they.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Just I apparently it's the bad kicking unit.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Okay, I've heard both teams struggle with the kicking game.
- 32:06Speaker 2: That being said, we lose in a walkoff field goal
- 32:11Speaker 2: seventeen to sixteen.
- 32:15Speaker 5: I've got to go high scoring right at the end
- 32:16Speaker 5: of the year I've done every other game.
- 32:19Speaker 4: You know, it's very possible, like Bill O'Brien could put
- 32:23Speaker 4: together a good game plan and kill us.
- 32:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I'd be more worried if Castis is the quarterback.
- 32:30Speaker 5: But screw it. I'll go thirty eight, thirty eight, thirty
- 32:34Speaker 5: one Huskers. Every other game I've been out for like
- 32:38Speaker 5: fifty points, so we'll keep going.
- 32:42Speaker 4: Back.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Before we move on, I'll give you a little bit
- 32:44Speaker 2: of time for Oklahoma's game against Navy that you probably
- 32:49Speaker 2: know nothing about.
- 32:51Speaker 5: Well, they're fair by three right now, prosing no spread.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Just like Nebraska game.
- 32:58Speaker 5: A bunch of transfers. We are playing our frekman quarterback.
- 33:02Speaker 5: I like to see what he looks like because the
- 33:05Speaker 5: first game play I thought it was awesome, and they
- 33:06Speaker 5: came in against South Carolina through three straight pick sixes
- 33:09Speaker 5: and that was the end of him. It never saw
- 33:11Speaker 5: him since. But yeah, you always are worried about playing
- 33:16Speaker 5: triple option. The good part is though, you get three weeks,
- 33:19Speaker 5: two or three weeks to pay for it. So I
- 33:22Speaker 5: think take Okahma spread on that thirty eight to twenty
- 33:25Speaker 5: Oklahoma and he's beat name, he's beat down after that
- 33:30Speaker 5: lost Army, I'm surprised. I'm surprised the freshman quarterback stand
- 33:38Speaker 5: though with a bringing in transfer. Maybe I'll go to Nebraska.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Any thoughts comments from the week one of the college
- 33:50Speaker 2: football playoffs, four blowouts, that's been the top of the town.
- 33:57Speaker 2: But people were, I guess, hoping that maybe that last
- 34:01Speaker 2: game would be closer and it wasn't.
- 34:04Speaker 5: That.
- 34:05Speaker 2: What what is your weekend reaction to the first round
- 34:08Speaker 2: in the college football Playoffs in general?
- 34:12Speaker 5: Well, I did end up taking every single underdog, not
- 34:17Speaker 5: even close on any of those, Like the one on
- 34:20Speaker 5: the one I was most confident in was Tennessee and
- 34:22Speaker 5: that was the worst one yet. Like so I lost
- 34:25Speaker 5: all three of them and then going to Tennessee, I'm like, guys,
- 34:27Speaker 5: this is the one and it just was worse. That was.
- 34:33Speaker 5: I don't know, I they all were. They all are
- 34:38Speaker 5: ass kickings, and I don't know, do you think home
- 34:42Speaker 5: Field had a lot to do with it or just
- 34:44Speaker 5: those teams are just that much better than what.
- 34:46Speaker 4: Do you think?
- 34:50Speaker 5: I think? God, I think the turnovers had a lot
- 34:55Speaker 5: to do in the SMU game, Like they they're moving
- 34:59Speaker 5: the ball on stake quite a bit, but they turned
- 35:01Speaker 5: over too much. Tennessee. I just don't think they're that good. Honestly,
- 35:06Speaker 5: their offense is a disaster, and I should have known
- 35:09Speaker 5: that going into it. They were not. Their offense has
- 35:11Speaker 5: not been great besides when they played nobody, So I
- 35:13Speaker 5: don't know. I think I think Ohio State haslready come
- 35:16Speaker 5: out and kill somebody after the Michigan lost, which is
- 35:19Speaker 5: which is either the way I thought it was gonna go,
- 35:21Speaker 5: either they weren't coming like that or just completely give
- 35:23Speaker 5: up on the air. Then the other two Indiana I
- 35:27Speaker 5: think it was turnovers too was the problem. And then
- 35:29Speaker 5: Clemson Texas. I think Texas just better than Clemson.
- 35:34Speaker 4: So you don't think it was on field advantage, no,
- 35:40Speaker 4: I mean the better teams won. I wasn't shocked because
- 35:45Speaker 4: twelve teams is just a lot of teams, Like we've
- 35:49Speaker 4: only been having four. Is it that surprising that after
- 35:52Speaker 4: the top eight there's a drop off and talent? I
- 35:55Speaker 4: didn't think so. I think we all kind of thought
- 35:57Speaker 4: this year had a little bit more parody. But I
- 36:01Speaker 4: mean outside of like, what other team do you think
- 36:08Speaker 4: would have been consistently done well against any of those
- 36:11Speaker 4: other teams?
- 36:11Speaker 2: Like that's my big thing, like, what what's the overall
- 36:15Speaker 2: goal of the playoff?
- 36:16Speaker 5: Right?
- 36:17Speaker 4: Right?
- 36:17Speaker 3: What's the goal?
- 36:17Speaker 5: What is it?
- 36:18Speaker 2: It's to make sure the best team wins national championship.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Like that is what you want from whatever format you're getting.
- 36:29Speaker 2: I don't care if that means adding more games in
- 36:31Speaker 2: the beginning of it, Like, who cares? I think those
- 36:36Speaker 2: teams deserve a shot, right, Like, give SMU a shot.
- 36:42Speaker 4: Through the regular season, and that is their shot. They
- 36:46Speaker 4: got blown out. We move on next week. It'll be
- 36:49Speaker 4: they'll be better games. All four games.
- 36:51Speaker 5: Well, I was listening. I was listening to podcasts and
- 36:53Speaker 5: they were saying, would you rather because people are complain
- 36:55Speaker 5: about how how crappy the games work, would you rather
- 36:58Speaker 5: then play that playoff game? Or or them asking you
- 37:01Speaker 5: go with the Peach Bowl, like you have a shot
- 37:04Speaker 5: to play it out.
- 37:06Speaker 2: I saw it was the first time that Clemson hasn't
- 37:12Speaker 2: made a ball game in so many years or something.
- 37:14Speaker 2: I thought that was kind of funny because they're technically
- 37:16Speaker 2: not counting in a ball game streaks.
- 37:19Speaker 4: I thought.
- 37:19Speaker 5: I thought they were the one that hung in the
- 37:21Speaker 5: most out of all those four games.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they tried.
- 37:24Speaker 4: It would have been hilarious if Nebraska was a top
- 37:26Speaker 4: twelve seed and we didn't make it to a ball
- 37:28Speaker 4: game and extended our ball game drought just to lose
- 37:31Speaker 4: in the twelve five matchup, that would have been ideal.
- 37:36Speaker 3: I think it's good for college football. I think.
- 37:41Speaker 2: The home crowds, the environments were just awesome. Yep, YEAHD
- 37:45Speaker 2: four Stadium. We talked about this last week. I mean,
- 37:48Speaker 2: you can't get a whole lot better than that as
- 37:51Speaker 2: far as home games. And yeah, like the better teams
- 37:54Speaker 2: won and they proved that they won. I think people
- 37:58Speaker 2: could have doubted all four of those teams some sense
- 38:00Speaker 2: to act out at all.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Four of them.
- 38:03Speaker 2: So just them going out there and saying no, like
- 38:06Speaker 2: we're one of the top eight. Now where it gets
- 38:08Speaker 2: maybe a little bit hairy and people are a little
- 38:10Speaker 2: bit upset is now with the seeding and how it
- 38:14Speaker 2: worked out with one through four. A team like Ohio
- 38:17Speaker 2: or Oregon now is to play Ohio State versus playing
- 38:21Speaker 2: somebody else, which for this year, you know what it is,
- 38:25Speaker 2: what it is like.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Let's yeah, Like but you say that in Ohio State
- 38:29Speaker 4: lost to Michigan, they almost got beat by Nebraska, Like
- 38:33Speaker 4: you know, Ohio State looks.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Beautible like correct, and and there you're saying now that well,
- 38:39Speaker 2: if you're Oregon, you'd rather play who I guess I
- 38:43Speaker 2: mean on any of those teams are in a state
- 38:44Speaker 2: Arizona State or Boys State?
- 38:46Speaker 3: Who are.
- 38:48Speaker 5: They in? Big Boys State? By three? So it's not like, yeah,
- 38:53Speaker 5: you hear all these organ fans can plain in like
- 38:56Speaker 5: that they should be playing Boys State, that they've already
- 38:59Speaker 5: played it and they play in my home three point game, Like,
- 39:01Speaker 5: it's not like it's that much different.
- 39:03Speaker 2: So one one, like, I do think it'll it's gonna change,
- 39:09Speaker 2: maybe not next year but the year after soon.
- 39:11Speaker 3: I'm not sure what they're gonna do.
- 39:13Speaker 2: I did like this concept though, and the NFL kind
- 39:16Speaker 2: of does something like this, but not quite. Take these
- 39:20Speaker 2: eight teams now, now it still give the buys to
- 39:26Speaker 2: to but now reseed it one through eight. Now, now
- 39:30Speaker 2: take your playoff rankings and reset it one through eight.
- 39:33Speaker 2: You still you still got to buy if you want
- 39:35Speaker 2: airs in the state Boise State, congrats, but now reset
- 39:38Speaker 2: it and now it's an eighteen bracket and and you're
- 39:41Speaker 2: going from here. I kind of like that idea, but
- 39:45Speaker 2: again it's not like it it makes it.
- 39:48Speaker 3: To me any less intriguing, right, It.
- 39:50Speaker 4: Just you want to be a championship when your games. Yeah,
- 39:54Speaker 4: you know, like I just hope that they don't learn
- 39:56Speaker 4: the wrong lesson and be like, you're right, we should
- 39:58Speaker 4: have put Alabama in, you know, like s m U
- 40:02Speaker 4: it should have been in Alabama.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Oh, we're gonna hear that though we've already heard it.
- 40:12Speaker 5: Yeah, but there's one more so the fourteen playoff. Yeah,
- 40:17Speaker 5: it's not like those games are great either. You guys,
- 40:19Speaker 5: remember how many blowouts have been. Yep, there's there's been
- 40:22Speaker 5: like a handful of good games on the fourteen playoffs.
- 40:25Speaker 2: You're right, And I think in past years we've we
- 40:27Speaker 2: have had them gonna say, elite team, but a great team.
- 40:31Speaker 3: You know that they have been up there.
- 40:33Speaker 2: But like this year, I don't know that if it
- 40:35Speaker 2: was a fourteen playoff we would have gotten any blowouts.
- 40:37Speaker 2: But yeah, you're right as far as what it has
- 40:40Speaker 2: been historically, it's just funny now I think instead of
- 40:43Speaker 2: there being one or two like teams that could win
- 40:46Speaker 2: it in previous years, now there's like eight and I
- 40:49Speaker 2: think we've probably got the eight maybe not even eight,
- 40:52Speaker 2: set seven or six, but I think we got those
- 40:56Speaker 2: now where we're at, and they in the twelve team
- 41:01Speaker 2: playoff bracket.
- 41:02Speaker 5: I mean OLPAOL LSC is one of the best games
- 41:04Speaker 5: they ever played, right mm hmm.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:09Speaker 5: Uh.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Nebraska volleyball, Yeah, heartbreaker, heartbreaker, it was it hurt reverse
- 41:20Speaker 2: swept by Penn State on Thursday. Then Penn State went
- 41:24Speaker 2: on to be Louisville, who had their best player banged
- 41:27Speaker 2: up and out on Sunday.
- 41:32Speaker 3: I don't know, I I it did hurt.
- 41:35Speaker 4: It sucked.
- 41:37Speaker 3: It's hard.
- 41:38Speaker 2: It's hard to point fingers or say, you know, be
- 41:44Speaker 2: mad at anything. But because we made another final four.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Just listen to pregame podcast, it's like, oh hu, I'm Nebraska.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Another Final four.
- 41:53Speaker 2: But man, it would be nice to win a couple
- 41:55Speaker 2: more now that we're here. And it's not a lot
- 41:59Speaker 2: of talent when you you know, I still hate talking
- 42:02Speaker 2: about recruits and and the and the stars, especially in
- 42:06Speaker 2: a sport like volleyball that gets a lot less coverage,
- 42:08Speaker 2: but we do. We've had the most the highest rating
- 42:11Speaker 2: recruiting recruiting class for how many years in a row now.
- 42:16Speaker 2: But yeah, we still won't win the national title, but
- 42:18Speaker 2: we're still competing for one every year. It'd just be
- 42:22Speaker 2: nice to get one done and bring this up with
- 42:28Speaker 2: John Cook and and he's a he's one of the
- 42:32Speaker 2: greatest ever to do it, if not the greatest volleyball
- 42:37Speaker 2: coach in college volleyball. And Sam McEwan had an interesting
- 42:42Speaker 2: comment and take that just got blown out of everywhere
- 42:46Speaker 2: and basically said, well, yeah, when you say when you
- 42:48Speaker 2: have all that talent, you sit on a chair.
- 42:52Speaker 4: You don't have to do anything.
- 42:56Speaker 3: That was that was the high level of comment.
- 42:57Speaker 2: And I bring this up just because of the fact
- 43:01Speaker 2: that I have a couple of friends and people that
- 43:04Speaker 2: strongly agree with this take. There's also people that throw
- 43:08Speaker 2: it under the water and just think it's absurd.
- 43:11Speaker 3: I'm not there. I'm not on either end of it.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I'm in the middle. But just wanted to hear your
- 43:15Speaker 3: guys' reactions to that.
- 43:16Speaker 2: And I guess the end of the volleyball season not
- 43:18Speaker 2: winning an international title, which, like you said, heartbroken but.
- 43:23Speaker 3: Didn't get it done.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Again, like where your heads are at, our thoughts are
- 43:26Speaker 2: in the brasket volleyball deck, let's.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Go with you. You're just gonna be pretty quick.
- 43:31Speaker 5: I imagine that's just in insane take. I mean, you
- 43:36Speaker 5: got to there's no way that he just sits there
- 43:42Speaker 5: and does nothing, like no game plan on nothing, just
- 43:45Speaker 5: sits there and claps like what I like best, the
- 43:50Speaker 5: best coach of all time, And you're gonna say that's
- 43:51Speaker 5: way he does. I can't believe, you know, people that
- 43:54Speaker 5: agree with that, Like he obviously has to drop game plans,
- 43:58Speaker 5: you scouting all this stuff, and plus get the recruits,
- 44:01Speaker 5: which is what he's kind of saying. But yeah, that's
- 44:05Speaker 5: I think that's one of the dumbest takes overheard my life.
- 44:09Speaker 5: I think the game nothing.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Yeah, when I first heard it, I thought it was
- 44:14Speaker 4: taken because I read the title and I was like,
- 44:16Speaker 4: that's clearly taken out of context, Like there's no way.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Sam came out and said that definitely listen to it.
- 44:22Speaker 4: He not only double he like triples down on it.
- 44:26Speaker 4: And he's like no, like yeah, you sure, like you
- 44:30Speaker 4: really don't have to do this, Like we're you don't
- 44:32Speaker 4: have to do this. He's like no, And I think
- 44:35Speaker 4: it's a bad take. I think, one, what the fuck, Sam,
- 44:44Speaker 4: We've had Scott Brost as a freaking head coach and
- 44:46Speaker 4: you said jack shit about that guy and the volleyball
- 44:49Speaker 4: coach losenes to the final core and you're like, that
- 44:51Speaker 4: guy's not a good coach. Dude, what the hell like
- 44:55Speaker 4: be a reporter for all the sports? Okay, that was he.
- 44:58Speaker 5: Said that before the final four of those. Ay it
- 45:01Speaker 5: might have been. Yeah, you're right, like like it wasn't
- 45:04Speaker 5: after the loss, it was going into the final Agree,
- 45:06Speaker 5: I guess.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like, okay, dude, like this off two, I
- 45:13Speaker 4: think you're undervaluing the structure that Cook puts into the
- 45:17Speaker 4: program and his coaching staff, and yes, the game plan
- 45:21Speaker 4: and yes he does have a lot of talent and yes,
- 45:24Speaker 4: but did anyone ever be like, man Saban's not a
- 45:26Speaker 4: good coach because he has a bunch of five star
- 45:28Speaker 4: players on his team. No, because that's freaking insane, even
- 45:31Speaker 4: though you have your coordinators probably doing most of the work. Anyways,
- 45:34Speaker 4: I mean that's kind of the gist of coaching, is
- 45:37Speaker 4: at that, at the head coach level, you're more than
- 45:40Speaker 4: just x's and o's bad take tough loss. Yeah, I
- 45:53Speaker 4: feel like you had it locked up when we're up
- 45:54Speaker 4: to Oh he really did?
- 45:56Speaker 2: Yeah, if I did, I wrote it off in my
- 46:00Speaker 2: head already.
- 46:01Speaker 3: I'm like, it's over over.
- 46:02Speaker 4: I agree. I had the same thought which is good
- 46:04Speaker 4: to have. I agree, it'd be nice to win another one,
- 46:08Speaker 4: but it's hard. I mean, single elimination tournaments. It's just
- 46:11Speaker 4: a lot of games that I understand. It's difficult. And
- 46:13Speaker 4: we've lost our last three title games and haven't been
- 46:17Speaker 4: there since. I haven't won since twenty seventeen, so I
- 46:21Speaker 4: mean that's been seven years. But seven years be national
- 46:26Speaker 4: titles is not. I mean, it's not unheard of, especially
- 46:31Speaker 4: when we're competitive in all of them. But yeah, it'd
- 46:33Speaker 4: be nice to win one. And this was the team
- 46:35Speaker 4: you felt like we had we could do it. I
- 46:36Speaker 4: think that's why it stings the most. It wasn't like
- 46:38Speaker 4: we overachieved this year. It's like our team's fucking good.
- 46:41Speaker 4: Let's see Rodriguez as a senior, and we're just you
- 46:45Speaker 4: just I just really wanted it and we didn't get it.
- 46:49Speaker 3: So here's the.
- 46:53Speaker 2: Negative, pessimistic Sam McEwan and type people. What they would
- 46:57Speaker 2: say is that we did have all the talent, and
- 47:01Speaker 2: we've had very talented teams and this maybe was one
- 47:03Speaker 2: of the most talented teams when you want to look
- 47:05Speaker 2: at what we had. Have also laughed and heard that,
- 47:09Speaker 2: you know, the most unsafe spot to be as a
- 47:13Speaker 2: starter for Nebraska volleyball because think about some of these
- 47:17Speaker 2: players that come in and like I mean, it is
- 47:19Speaker 2: we bring in talent year after year, and in the
- 47:22Speaker 2: sophomores like Lindsey Crowsey didn't play a single.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Play at all, So it is we do have so
- 47:32Speaker 3: much talent.
- 47:33Speaker 2: And that's where you say, well, man, if we have
- 47:35Speaker 2: the number one recruiting class for how many years in
- 47:38Speaker 2: a row, but yeah, we can't win one? What does
- 47:40Speaker 2: that say? Like, what does that say about John Cook?
- 47:42Speaker 2: What does that say about the program? I get that
- 47:46Speaker 2: side of it. But here's the thing. Just because you
- 47:50Speaker 2: have the number one recruiting class doesn't guarantee a national title.
- 47:54Speaker 2: And I've said that for years. I guess what else
- 47:57Speaker 2: could you want? Yes, I agree you could. We should
- 48:00Speaker 2: maybe win a couple, and you know, you win this year,
- 48:04Speaker 2: you're probably feeling. Okay, Alabama and like you mentioned before, Austin,
- 48:08Speaker 2: you know, had the number one recruiting class. And I
- 48:10Speaker 2: put this up a year ago because I people were
- 48:13Speaker 2: making these same kind of comments and I'm like, Okay,
- 48:15Speaker 2: Alabama had the number one recruiting class, number one or
- 48:17Speaker 2: two for like twelve years in a row. And they
- 48:20Speaker 2: ended up with I believe three national titles from like
- 48:23Speaker 2: eight to ninety it was something like that.
- 48:25Speaker 4: That's in a system where you don't have to win
- 48:27Speaker 4: a tournament, that is a you've been selected to play
- 48:30Speaker 4: in a national title game.
- 48:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, So I mean that's a comparison there.
- 48:34Speaker 2: We're like, okay, yeah, I get like Alabama's called a
- 48:37Speaker 2: hit record, a winning a national title record.
- 48:40Speaker 3: Maybe it was four national tech titles. I don't remember.
- 48:42Speaker 2: The exact stat is a little higher than what Nebraska's
- 48:45Speaker 2: hit record for winning national title it is. And so yeah,
- 48:48Speaker 2: you could argue we should be winning more that that.
- 48:51Speaker 3: That's fair. That's a fair statement that we probably.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Should be six and twenty four years is that right?
- 48:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know the exact ext.
- 49:00Speaker 4: It's almost the exact same hit record.
- 49:03Speaker 2: So I get that with talented teams, you want you
- 49:06Speaker 2: want to say that, But at the same time, I
- 49:08Speaker 2: that's not a to me, that's not a.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Maybe it is an in game coaching thing. I don't know.
- 49:16Speaker 2: But as far as John Cook and the comments made
- 49:18Speaker 2: about that, I will this is this is the extent
- 49:22Speaker 2: I'm agreeing with Sam Volleyball in game coaching and scheming,
- 49:27Speaker 2: and I don't know much about volleyball. I can't imagine
- 49:31Speaker 2: is as intricate and in depth as the sports that
- 49:34Speaker 2: more common sports.
- 49:35Speaker 3: We talk about basketball, football, now baseball. I don't know.
- 49:40Speaker 4: He gives up on a play by play. You are
- 49:42Speaker 4: in a system.
- 49:44Speaker 2: It's a very different style of in game coaching. It's
- 49:46Speaker 2: a very different level of adjustments. When it comes to
- 49:49Speaker 2: the sport of substitutions, it is different. I don't think
- 49:53Speaker 2: it is as much as these other sports. So to
- 49:57Speaker 2: that point, yeah, Sam, maybe is a little bit right
- 49:59Speaker 2: where you do sit on a chair a lot of
- 50:01Speaker 2: times because you're not actively adjusting.
- 50:04Speaker 3: But it's not like it.
- 50:07Speaker 2: It's not the extreme that he made it sound like,
- 50:10Speaker 2: and that was the impression it came off of it.
- 50:12Speaker 2: It's not that extreme. At the same time, too, behind
- 50:16Speaker 2: the scenes and you guys have both touched on it.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Your recruiting is a product of the program and the
- 50:23Speaker 2: head coach. Some people say the assistant coaches do all
- 50:26Speaker 2: the work for John Cook. Maybe they do, but it's
- 50:30Speaker 2: John Cook that's the one in charge and assigning and
- 50:32Speaker 2: hiring the assistant coaches, keeping them here, keeping them a
- 50:35Speaker 2: part of the culture. The players respecting these assistant coaches.
- 50:39Speaker 2: And it all stems to the entire word you said,
- 50:43Speaker 2: Austin's system, entire culture. That's where as far as the
- 50:49Speaker 2: one of the greatest coaches of all time, that's where
- 50:51Speaker 2: that all stems from. In game coaching, I get it there.
- 50:56Speaker 2: I don't know if there's a whole a lot to
- 50:59Speaker 2: do when you when you get to a game. There
- 51:01Speaker 2: is definitely scheming, but you're not you're not adjusting, constantly involved,
- 51:06Speaker 2: at least from my knowledge, I don't.
- 51:08Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 51:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree. I think you're just implementing different systems
- 51:12Speaker 4: to counteract to their current system. But you aren't like, hey,
- 51:16Speaker 4: you need to do this. It's like, hey, we're going
- 51:18Speaker 4: to do this, and you all know what to do
- 51:19Speaker 4: because you're smart, talented volleyball players.
- 51:22Speaker 2: So then you say it comes down to a mindset,
- 51:25Speaker 2: it comes down to the toughness or whatever. And I
- 51:29Speaker 2: will say, the fifth set against Penn State, we did
- 51:31Speaker 2: not look good, like we look bad, And so I
- 51:34Speaker 2: guess could you say, well that falls on coaching, Yeah
- 51:37Speaker 2: you could, you definitely could. You're also playing another team
- 51:41Speaker 2: that's very talented, and also, like people were saying, well
- 51:45Speaker 2: we have four all Americans Yep, guess who else and
- 51:47Speaker 2: four all Americans Penn State or Pittsburgh. Penn State had three,
- 51:50Speaker 2: So it's not like we're playing bogo teams. They're all
- 51:54Speaker 2: the one seeds. Penn State also had a coach, you know,
- 51:57Speaker 2: for cancer. There's there's just there's a lot. The other
- 52:00Speaker 2: teams have stuff too, and you're playing another damn good
- 52:02Speaker 2: volleyball team. Yeah, maybe we had the number one recruiting
- 52:06Speaker 2: class last year, but Penn State still had a top
- 52:08Speaker 2: ten recruiting class.
- 52:09Speaker 5: Like it.
- 52:11Speaker 4: That's people are always like, man, recruiting grades are kind
- 52:15Speaker 4: of bs like, I mean, that's a pretty and.
- 52:18Speaker 3: That is what I think too.
- 52:19Speaker 2: It is a developed I've always but it's just it's
- 52:21Speaker 2: just funny to hear everybody's reactions about volleyball, and I
- 52:25Speaker 2: think when it comes to volleyball in the state, being
- 52:28Speaker 2: a girls basketball coach, volleyball has a very negative impact
- 52:32Speaker 2: for multiple reasons. So if I separate my mind from
- 52:39Speaker 2: the girls basketball standpoint and just look at it from
- 52:41Speaker 2: a Husker fans standpoint, it's different. But I do think
- 52:44Speaker 2: everything that goes on with with club volleyball and volleyball
- 52:48Speaker 2: in the state it hurts basketball and we're seeing it
- 52:50Speaker 2: in numbers. That part of me gets me a little
- 52:52Speaker 2: bit less discouraged or not saying I ever hope for
- 52:55Speaker 2: us to lose. But it's like, man, like all those
- 52:58Speaker 2: momentum the Husker volleyball gets you just you're drawing girls
- 53:01Speaker 2: away from basketball. So I have a little personal bias
- 53:04Speaker 2: there when it comes to that. But as far as
- 53:08Speaker 2: just Husker sports in general and being a fan of that,
- 53:14Speaker 2: you can't argue with the success that they've had year
- 53:18Speaker 2: in and year out.
- 53:20Speaker 4: I just sometimes Nebraska media, man, just we had Scott Frost,
- 53:26Speaker 4: you know, and all the stories, any reporting from Sam
- 53:29Speaker 4: that was any negative stuff, No, we got nothing. It's
- 53:32Speaker 4: like everything's okay, we couldn't prove this, but boy, John Cook,
- 53:37Speaker 4: that guy, It's just it didn't need to be said.
- 53:41Speaker 4: And when you have an opportunity to like clarify, like
- 53:44Speaker 4: and I agree, like in game it looks like he's
- 53:47Speaker 4: not doing a whole lot, But when you have an
- 53:49Speaker 4: opportunity to clarify, be like, yes, I'm sure he's doing
- 53:51Speaker 4: a lot behind the scenes, He's like, nah, he just
- 53:53Speaker 4: freaking just kept doubly down. It's like you are just
- 53:56Speaker 4: a freaking idiot.
- 53:59Speaker 5: I don't I don't know lick about blackball. This is
- 54:01Speaker 5: what it reminds me of John cal Perry and basketball
- 54:05Speaker 5: with get all these five stars on his team, and
- 54:07Speaker 5: it's just like woball to win or go home situation
- 54:09Speaker 5: from the tournaments and he he won a couple of
- 54:13Speaker 5: times with him too, but he would always fail out
- 54:15Speaker 5: the end. I guess he got fired for it. But
- 54:18Speaker 5: he made that that's.
- 54:20Speaker 4: Just coming. That's true. Cal Perry did not make it
- 54:23Speaker 4: as far as John Cook did. Any don't know rest
- 54:26Speaker 4: of me.
- 54:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't guy, you can complain about going the
- 54:28Speaker 5: Planal four either, like you fire him, We're going to
- 54:31Speaker 5: get this better right now, like.
- 54:33Speaker 3: And I'm not. I don't think anybody really is saying
- 54:36Speaker 3: fire him.
- 54:37Speaker 5: Well, but why say that, like as a medium, it's
- 54:41Speaker 5: just it's because it's not it's not even constructive.
- 54:44Speaker 4: Like if you were like actually upset at something he
- 54:46Speaker 4: was doing that you felt was negatively impacting the program,
- 54:50Speaker 4: you are more like, but that was just a poor,
- 54:54Speaker 4: poor criticism.
- 54:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm curious if anything will come out of it.
- 54:58Speaker 2: I haven't heard any reaction to it from the actual team.
- 55:03Speaker 2: I know there's social media reaction to saying that Sam
- 55:06Speaker 2: should get fired for this and YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 55:08Speaker 4: No, but I mean you gotta be smarter than that. Yeah,
- 55:13Speaker 4: Like what a dumb take for in the volleyball state.
- 55:16Speaker 4: What a dumb tape for.
- 55:18Speaker 5: Someone trippling down to Dick Because I was like, maybe
- 55:22Speaker 5: he didn't mean what? Actually?
- 55:23Speaker 1: No? He?
- 55:25Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 55:29Speaker 2: All right, last topic here, Nebraska basketball, Uh doing well,
- 55:35Speaker 2: playing well. We played Hawaii here in a couple hours
- 55:39Speaker 2: dip off from Honolulu. We played the if we win,
- 55:44Speaker 2: we played the winner of I believe it's Oakland and
- 55:47Speaker 2: Oregon State, and then we lose played a loser of that.
- 55:51Speaker 2: We played Murray State last night and I believe it
- 55:54Speaker 2: was at twenty two to four or one point early on. Defensively,
- 55:57Speaker 2: played very very well, won the game in sixty six
- 56:00Speaker 2: forty nine low scoring. We did have a lot of turnovers,
- 56:03Speaker 2: but Connor season hits five threes, Andrew Morgan looks very
- 56:09Speaker 2: very good in the post against the undersized Murray State team,
- 56:13Speaker 2: and we get out of there at about a.
- 56:16Speaker 3: Twenty point wins.
- 56:17Speaker 2: So two more non conference games well, I guess a
- 56:20Speaker 2: third against Southern University here next week. But you know,
- 56:25Speaker 2: I think if you come out of with wins and
- 56:28Speaker 2: all these games, you're sitting pretty good here. I'm heading
- 56:31Speaker 2: into conference play. Somebody asked me the other day, you know,
- 56:35Speaker 2: what does Nebraska need to do from here on till
- 56:37Speaker 2: the end to make the NCAA tournament, And I said,
- 56:40Speaker 2: I said, first thing is is get out of here,
- 56:44Speaker 2: you know, finish the non conference undefeated. But I don't
- 56:48Speaker 2: think Oregon State said a gimme, and I don't think
- 56:52Speaker 2: Hawaii's a gimme tonight in Oakland either, So I think
- 56:56Speaker 2: there's still two tough games here that we got to
- 56:58Speaker 2: finish out. And then I agree, go five hundred and
- 57:01Speaker 2: the Big Ten, and you're sitting good with the non
- 57:03Speaker 2: conference schedule, you slip up one of these, I think
- 57:07Speaker 2: you got to.
- 57:07Speaker 3: You gotta may prove yourself a little more in the
- 57:09Speaker 3: Big Ten.
- 57:10Speaker 2: But I think we're sitting in a good spot right
- 57:13Speaker 2: now with this team that we really didn't know and
- 57:15Speaker 2: still are figuring out the different pieces and what works
- 57:20Speaker 2: what's not. What's been encouraging for me is how we defend,
- 57:25Speaker 2: and two, how multiple we can be on offense. And
- 57:30Speaker 2: that second part, the first part I kind of thought
- 57:33Speaker 2: would we'd be pretty solid at the second part was
- 57:36Speaker 2: very concerning. Early on in the year, We've shown to
- 57:43Speaker 2: have multiple guys be able to be the bucket getters,
- 57:47Speaker 2: and I think that's very important when we get to
- 57:52Speaker 2: Big ten play, and even when Andrew Morgan can shine
- 57:55Speaker 2: in a couple of games, I think that's that's huge
- 57:59Speaker 2: for how teams are going to defend us and scout
- 58:02Speaker 2: us in Connor season. Shooting the ball well, that was
- 58:07Speaker 2: also one thing we didn't know how that would end up.
- 58:09Speaker 2: So again, very very positive outlook here for the rest
- 58:15Speaker 2: of the year or so far into the year, and
- 58:18Speaker 2: then going into the rest of this tournament for the Oscars.
- 58:22Speaker 4: I've been impressed. I I honestly had lower expectations, and
- 58:29Speaker 4: again we're not beating great teams, but we're right. We
- 58:33Speaker 4: look good, like we look competent. It looks like we
- 58:35Speaker 4: can scale up to our opponents. We can scale and
- 58:38Speaker 4: we have scaled down to our opponents as well. But
- 58:41Speaker 4: it feels like a game plan that we could go
- 58:43Speaker 4: five hundred and the Big Ten to be a tournament team.
- 58:45Speaker 4: I mean, we're not. We're not going to crack a
- 58:48Speaker 4: top twelve seed by any means, but.
- 58:53Speaker 5: I feel all right, Yeah, season has been the real
- 58:58Speaker 5: key to this team because all those you need one
- 59:01Speaker 5: more score because Bryce is your main one. You need
- 59:03Speaker 5: one more score to get the shine off of him
- 59:05Speaker 5: and have people go defend other players. Because this team
- 59:08Speaker 5: I always going the year I thought was gonna be
- 59:11Speaker 5: a damn good defensive team. I just didn't know where
- 59:13Speaker 5: your scoring is gonna come from.
- 59:14Speaker 7: Well, you have him and then then you always get
- 59:18Speaker 7: your chip in from, like, oh you can joke and
- 59:23Speaker 7: sometimes get you something Morgan last night, like you have
- 59:26Speaker 7: some guys that that's all you need is those guys
- 59:28Speaker 7: chip in.
- 59:28Speaker 5: Then you need bryceon uh connor to go off. So
- 59:33Speaker 5: I think it's a really solid team. I I think
- 59:37Speaker 5: what's gonna hurt him though, is come like say they
- 59:40Speaker 5: make a tournament game, they're like, all your round's gonna
- 59:43Speaker 5: kill this team is they do have terrible scoring droughts,
- 59:46Speaker 5: Like if Bryson and Sagan aren't doing anything, they are
- 59:49Speaker 5: kind of screwed.
- 59:50Speaker 4: Like we can go four men without putting it, putting
- 59:52Speaker 4: it in a bucket.
- 59:54Speaker 5: Oh yeah easily with me Asa and you you're playing
- 59:58Speaker 5: four and five on offense. He doesn't do anything offense
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: but but yeah, tonight's game I read does count the
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: true road game. So here you go get the roll Bowls.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Government Squad three road win tonight. That's that's the that's
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: the goal.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: It's gonna be rocking. What is it nine thirty two.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: Something like that.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: It's late.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: I think it's nine thirty it's the last one. I
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: think it's approximate. It just follows, you know, the previous
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: game and more than the last one tonight. So it's
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: five hour difference between here and Hawaii. But our time
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: is it's gonna start late. Dak's got to take some
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: caffeine here to stay up for it.
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: I'll try to watch it all. We'll see. You've got
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: yourself a big game though, Hunter coming up here. Yeah,
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: oh that's already going.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: Yep, touchdown Packers just as we speak.
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: Seven No way, no way?
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: Who scored Wicks? Oh? Good?
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: Huh?
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: I heard I saw the other day that the Saints
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: are still in the hunt technically out yet?
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: Is it rat dog? And I to go back to han.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: It's rat dog?
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Maybe it's right, yeah, he said, He said he doesn't
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: care about the cold.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Weather doesn't affect him.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: He's honestly not like awful. Hater is just the worst
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: quarterback I ever saw in my life. Rattler is at
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: least confident.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: Which not huh, just because he went to.
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: I mean you you've watch ye. He's not awful. He's
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: not awful, So I don't know how he was not great.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: At least he met him at the bar though the
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: night before the game.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: We did true story right there, and then Sadurfield changed
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: him at South Carolina.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: All right, well we'll be back next week after the
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: ball game. See if we can finish the year hot.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: Don't really know what that feels like. You hang a banner,
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: I'm not going so I think that give us a
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: chance to win.
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: Do we hang a banner?
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Yes, yes, that's what we do in Yankee Stadium. Good
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: luck back here sooner's against the Navy Midshipman would be
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: a great one, all right. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: New Year, Go big red, Merry Christmas.
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: GBR, go big red Merry Christmas.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: T
