Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football freeze, Chad Jensen and Zach Kilmer.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographical location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a state of being.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome in everybody, this is of course the Milha Hudelpodcast.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm your host, Chad Jensen with me is my fellow football priest.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know him, you love him.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: Zach Kelberman, Zach sometimes the role of any priest.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: The job is to help exercise the demons.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: And right now, there's a lot of Broncos fans across the fruited plain nay around the world's act that are scratching their heads.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: that are going, what the heck is going on here?
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: We're expecting this team with 20-some-odd million, and they freed up 11 more with Quinn Miner's restructure to go out and bring in some new talent.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_02]: Instead, what we got was a bunch of re-signings they cut, drag, green law, and set audios to John Franklin Myers.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: What's been your gut reaction to day one of free agency?
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: I saw someone in the comments, Max Rios saying, give it to us straight Zach and I would love Max to go on some fiery ran.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little tired today, just full disclosure.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know how much ramping I'll be doing, but I'll say point-playing period chat.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's still early in the process.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to overreact too much, but it's objective to feel like the Broncos got worse today.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: Plain and Simple.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't gain any outside for agent, not a single one, and they lost
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: two key players.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: They, they, and, and, they, they, one we knew was going to be gone and John Franklin Myers.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: Drake Greenlaw, though, we have some hope left that he be resigned because they want to move on from Alex Singleton.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: But that's where they devoted their money to.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: They gave over 20 million guaranteed to Adam Troutman and Alex Singleton while making no outside signing.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: So for today, the Brock was got worse and they didn't do their franchise quarterback chat any favors whatsoever.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's a fair way to put it, it's hard to argue today that they got better relative to the 2025 roster, only because not not because I don't like JK Dobbins and not because I don't like Alex Singleton, but because you lost more players than you gained and the two players that are gone now.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: One, John Franklin Myers gave you 14 and a half sacks over the past two years.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, he got the bag.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: So congrats to him.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: He's been working hard to get that Tennessee gave it to him.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Well deserved.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: And then, of course, Drake Greenlaw, he wasn't he was on the roster and they released him.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: So with that, you know, it's kind of like, well, it's a starter.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: So two starters gone.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: Even though they basically had turned the page.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: They had decided Zack that by bringing back Justin Sternad and singleton, we knew what Sternad's wishes were.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: I want to be a starter.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, there was one, three, three is a crowd basically, right?
- 2:53[SPEAKER_02]: So Green Loss, the odd man now, but he was a starter.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: He was the guy with that physical legend, the guy they talked about all the time.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: The great experience he brings in the intensity and all that.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_02]: So it's hard to argue that they got better.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: But Zach, they did take care of some business on the first day of legal tampering and like getting JK Dobbins back.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: I understand people are disappointed that there were no swings at Kenneth Walker the third they were in on Travis at the end, but they weren't willing to go as high as is the New Orleans Saints.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: And honestly, Zach, I'm glad.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: I would rather the Broncos, not spend that money on Walker, not spend that money on ETN, bring back JK Dobbins and wait to see how the running back market settles, even if it means waiting until the draft to take a running back.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: My biggest disappointment today and then I'm serving it back to you is that they apparently had zero interest in Tyler Algear.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: That was weird.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when it comes to Drake Greenlaw, it's not the fact that they cut him.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's my issue.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he was objectively the worst inside linebacker at times last season, at least below a sternot.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: He was not deficient in some areas.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: He also couldn't stay healthy.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: My problem was, or is, is that the plan is to go forward with sternot and singleton to run it back and maintain this status quo.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: And that's exactly what they're doing at running back and
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: We don't really disagree off in chat on here, but this is maybe a situation where we're slightly disagree.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: I would have tried a little harder.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: I would have thrown a little more money at the position because you want to raise the floor and the ceiling.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: Dobbins is great when he's healthy, but the ellipses there, the dot, dot, dot is he never really is.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I would rather pay a little more of a premium and ensure that position is well when taken care of only to help out Bonix because that should have been the goal from the
- 4:42[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think it's fair to have those doubts.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, as great and I use great purposefully, as JK Dobbins is when he's healthy, he's not healthy often, right?
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's yet to play an entire season in the NFL, been in the league since 2020.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: My hope and friend, my friends like Michaela Parker, she said, Chad, you're putting lipstick on a pig here and maybe I am, but my hope here, Zach, is that you gotta remember last year,
- 5:12[SPEAKER_02]: The middle of June, which was literally like the last day of the off-season training program, then they hit that six week NFL summer, then it's training camp.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: My hope is that this time around Zach, you'll have the full off-season to work with Bowlowery, Dan Dowl Rempel.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: the Broncos kind of cutting edge, top shelf, player wellness, strength and conditioning, throughout the off season, and that somehow makes a difference in terms of that lower body, soft tissue, stuff that has plagued him.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: That is whole career.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: But I get it.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_02]: You guys know, my ideal solution was to get another running back to pair with JK Dobbins as your first
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: be the third down guy run around, move around, freedom to do that.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I am disappointed that they didn't get one of those guys, including Rico Dado, who's off the board, too.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: Eric Holt, what's up, bro?
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you again tonight, brother.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for the super chat.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: He says, what's up, fellows?
- 6:08[SPEAKER_02]: Really disappointed where we're at, that we are running it back, sorry.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: We are playing it too safe, wishing for one heck of a draft, go Broncos.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: I know it feels like it right now guys because everyone had so much anticipation, thus some expectation and to go, you know, it opened this morning, mountain time at 10 a.m. so we're eight hours into the legal tampering window.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos have yet to sign an outside person.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: So right now, Zack, it might feel like it's never going to happen that they're just going to bring back everybody from the 2020 by roster and then draft some dudes.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_02]: But I assure you,
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: Scouts honor, promise they are going to sign some guys.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: It just doesn't appear.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: Zach, it's going to be any of those tier one guys.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: No, but there's still some talent left on the board for sure.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: I believe as of right now, David and a joke who Dallas got her Romeo dobs who I know you're not crazy about Chad, but at least he's a receiver, at least he would help out the offense.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: There's Kevin Lloyd, the inside linebacker slong the board.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know the Brock was ready to go after him now, but
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a matter of being aggressive and not being too conservative, not sitting on your hands.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: I thought, Chad, with the Super Bowl window wide open, you're still on bone mixes, rookie contract, and Russell Wilson's contract off the books as well, that this would be the year, the offseason, where they would be a little more aggressive.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean reckless, I don't mean treating it like mad in and signing every player out of the sun, but you could have picked out one premier free agent and got them under contract today.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's what bothers me.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and if you think about it, they had roughly about 20 million in effective cap space before they restructured Quinn.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: Quinn gave them 11.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: So there's 30 some odd million, then they released Drey that gives them another six million.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: So they're now sitting somewhere, Zach, a little bit north of 30 million in cap space.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: Now they've got a couple of new contracts, well, several new contracts.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: You got sternat eating into that.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: You got trout when eating into that.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: You got JK and you got singleton now, eating into that.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: Which, by the way, have you heard the terms yet of JK's deal other than two years?
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: No, I haven't.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't imagine it's for a lot of money, but I have not heard the official terms.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think it'll be a little bit of a raise.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: He basically signed for just under 2.1 million last year, one year deal.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think he'll get a little bit of a raise, but my point here is
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: Did they free up that money to what?
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: Just make room for some raises across the board because singleton got a raise obviously, seven and a half million something like that per year now.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_02]: Sternad got the raise.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: Troutman got mega raise.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's the one move.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like the one doom and gloom move that really pisses me off where I'm going to be right there in the doldrums with the large swath of Broncos Country's act is the Troutman deal.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: reading his comments.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was, was it, Chris Thomas in the Denver Gazette.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care what PFF says.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, I'm one of the best blocking tight ends in the league.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: No, you're not, dude.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: So that one bothers me, but my point is with all the, they freed up all the cap.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_02]: They're not using it, at least not on outside guys.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: Bro, he literally said four or five interested teams were talking to me and there was a bidding war about to break out of the Broncos didn't sign me okay Adam show me one team where he would have got even half of that from all the way
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: Sam Bam, brother, great to see you, a dear member, jumping in with a generous super chat.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: Really appreciate you, big dog.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: He says, even, guys, well, not the splashiest day one of free agency, but I think George Payton, Sean Payton have something up their sleeves.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: The Green Law release was a surprising to me, was it to you?
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: Your thoughts on day one of free agency, Go Broncos.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: So we were asked about green law multiple times last week and we basically said, you know, hey, you can't rule it out, but don't foresee it necessarily happening.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: But that was before we knew Strenad would be the priority.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: If we had had any inkling back earlier last week, Zach, that Strenad was going to be the priority.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: we knew that Singleton's some way somehow was coming back to.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: They love Alex Singleton around Denver.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, do you see the players on X tonight defending him against some of the blowback?
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: The unfortunately was also exacerbated by just the general feelings Broncos fans have had of not being the team not doing enough to get better.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: But my point here is green laws that came as
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: No, the the Singleton stuff felt like the Lady Dough protest too much, Chad, because it seemed like they were overcompensating trying to show how good of a player Alex Singleton is when all the Broncos country.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's a great guy.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: I always reformed personally, but on the field, he's definitely replaceable.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: The Green Law release wasn't surprising, Sam.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like Mike Chad said, we could have seen it going either way.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: I thought they would give him one more year.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess I was wrong there.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I just don't like the plan in place, which is basically to run it back with the incumbents.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: You're relying on a 30-something-year-old Alex Singleton coming off of a multi-injury situation and also cancer and then just in stronata, career backup term starter now.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the best situation for an inside-line back in court of me.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, honestly, it feels like Ryan Johnson movie in the Star Wars universe right now.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: Ryan Johnson, his whole thing is to, I think it's Johnson, right?
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: The guy that did the last Jedi, anyway.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: I read a thing when I was, when that movie came out and I was so disgusted by what I saw literally disgusted.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I read a thing where he talked about Zack as a director.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_02]: and a screenwriter.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: His thing is, any audience comes into a movie with expectations, right?
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: They kind of have a general expectation of what they're going to see because, let's face it, dramas.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_02]: They kind of, you know, there's the Act 1, Act 2, Act 3.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_02]: People kind of, even if it's subconscious, know what to expect on some level, he goes into it.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: Instead of kind of fulfilling those expectations in the best way I'm making people come out of it.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: And now it's sick.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: He goes into a purely zac to subvert the expectation and sometimes I think that could actually work great for a director in an established can cannon thing like Star Wars not a good idea the Broncos Zach are a little bit like Star Wars it's obviously a well established cannon
- 12:32[SPEAKER_02]: fans have an expectation that the Broncos were going to make some moves.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: They have yet to do that.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: And it's kind of weird that they waited till day one of legal tampery to get some of these deals done.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: And even yesterday, the last day before legal tampering to get Sternad brought back, all that stuff.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, why did you, why did
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: Why are we waiting so long?
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: These are your own guys.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: You could have done this at any point in the process.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: All right, voicing man, brother.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, back to back nights.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: Stoke to have you in the conversation big dog and be in a member.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you again for that brother in the super chat.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: He says that team competing for a team's competing for a title should be willing to make moves and improve.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: Only day one, but day can we get some
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think they're spending for outside linebacker.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: They just spent whatever six, what's six, 14 million per year basically to bring in sternad and singleton off the top my head, roughly speaking that.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think you're going to keep holding your breath, Boise, for this to happen.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: Devon Lloyd is right there for the taking.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard bump kiss about the Broncos being interested.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: They really want to run it back.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: They truly like singleton.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: They like Sternot and they might draft one next month, but I don't think you're going to get a stud lineback around the open market.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: And really quickly, my whole problem with this taking the status quo chat and taking such a backseat sitting on your hands to me kind of a smacks of arrogance.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like the Broncos truly feel they don't they don't have to make any moves.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: They're good enough where the entirely can go out there and spend money But we don't have to we have good enough players where we can put on our own.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like that.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to build your team through for agency But it's meant to supplement your team and the Broncos did not do any of that today Kind of sounds like Sean Peyton when you describe that, you know Um, maybe we shouldn't be too surprised.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: However
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's been pretty aggressive in two of the three off seasons, not counting this one.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: So going into this off season, Peyton's been aggressive, 23 last year.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: The 2024 onesack, again, I defy you right now.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: Off the top of your head, anybody in the chat, name me a player they signed in 2024.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: I know a couple of mine, but that's kind of where we're headed with this one.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos guy, dude, thank you for being with us tonight.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_02]: Big Dog, appreciate the support on Super Chat.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: He says the arrogance of Sean Peyton,
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: will be the downfall.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: We played the second easiest schedule last year.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: Next year is harder and we didn't get better at any position.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there is that and that's it's kind of like Sean Peyton once again wants to is kind of like, you know, he's the smartest guy in the room.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: You expect him to go left.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: So just because you expect him to go left, he's going to go right.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: Not necessarily exactly because writes the best way to go.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's simply because that's what you expect him to do.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: We call that a contrarian and I personally don't like those people too much, but it's not just Sean Peyton to be fair.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: He might be calling the shots, but he's not the only one helping to pick the groceries.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: George Peyton deserves some mod blame for this as well, Chad.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: Historically, he's been a very conservative GM, and that's clashed with Sean Peyton's aggressive tendencies.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: George Peyton still has some power left in the building.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's arrogance all around, and I don't appreciate it as a podcaster.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: it's fair and that's been the thing with Sean Peyton is the the seasons are great the football the actual football turns out pretty nice but the off seasons are maddening man they can be he's turned an already long off season into making off seasons feel like half is long you know
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: If it's a six month off season now it feels like nine months because they hardly ever speak to the press like I'll be surprised That could they even do a post free agency press conference like Sean Peyton.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's weird because on one hand when you get him in front of the mic You can tell he likes the sound of his own voice.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: He likes the talk But he has the philosophy that you know the press is like mushrooms keep him in the dark and feed him You know what David young can what's up brother, but it's like you're missing the point here.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you might not like the press
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: But the press is the representation of the fans and you should care about keeping the fans happy on some level on some level, if not, you're not checking with anybody's, yeah, hey, Chad and Zach, you guys mind if we go sign this player, that's not what I'm saying, right, but like communication, keeping them involved in what's happening, that kind of thing, Sean Payton's like,
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: couldn't care less.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: David Young can a deer member check a insane troutman, but day singleton overpaid that money could have went to a running back or a tie to look I don't quite understand the biday thing.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: I totally understand the singleton thing.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's that's something that people are going to disagree with me on.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm fine with singleton coming back and I'm fine with the contract that he got.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Troutman is the big point of demarcation for me where I just go, what are we doing here, guys?
- 17:26[SPEAKER_02]: Really, to put the best possible glaze on it, Zach, he is an average.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's best, like that's me trying to be as kind as possible.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's an average wide tight end.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm one of the best blockers in the league.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: He said, give me a break, dog.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, David, yeah, I think the Tyler biday thing and some of these other players, especially Adam Trauma and exemplifies what I just said.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Pinky has his guys and we, we rude these players last season and the season before and they were on the field, but Sean Payton calls the shots, Sean Payton picked these guys and Sean Payton thinks they're best and Sean Payton would overrule George Payton if it came to it.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I agree with you.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: These are very low vibrational moves, low ceiling moves that I didn't think the
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: I thought they'd make some of them chat, but I thought they'd be complimented with moon shots that just aren't coming right now.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: The only thing we know from, and you correct me from wrong exact, but from monitoring the wire closely all day long, other than at TN, were they really in on any of these moves that you're aware of?
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: Because that's the only thing that we have some solid verified reporting.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: Other than dobs is still up there, and then what's that, the Niners backup, uh, Andrew board?
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: Not why did they lose out?
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: Why are you interested?
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: You got freaking great a little Jordan home free dude.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: Just bring him back.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_02]: You don't need that guy.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's not going to give you some kind of massive upgrade.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, it's a weird kind of vibe right now emanating from Broncos HQ and look for all we know they've been in on a lot more deals and we realize and they've just kind of had their limits that they haven't been willing to pass and all this.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I'm not mad that they didn't spend upwards of whatever it was at 15, some odd million for Kenneth Walker and what at the end got.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm fine that they eventually said, now we're going to take a step back and not spend all that money.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to bring JK back.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_02]: But what's the other plan?
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: Because JK can't be the only plan as much as I love him.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: As much as I think he's a great, great fit for this team.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: You just can't rely on him being there for the full.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: 17 games and if they're thinking well yeah we know that that's why we have RJ Harvey once again
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: flawed thinking because from an efficiency standpoint, he was one of the bottom five running backs in the NFL last year based on the number of touches he actually got.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: Taylor Christians and brother, great to see a big dog, dear member, checking in on super chat, saying fellas, other than J.K. Dobbins, I'm super disappointed so far to the point.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: I want to bust my teeth out.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: questioning.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: Questioning.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: Zach, your thoughts here for Taylor.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I want to just talk about the receiver thing for a second.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: You're right.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: It says something that they're even targeting Kendrick Boren.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: It says something else that they lost out to the cardinals of all teams for Kendrick Boren.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: But they're shopping in the clearance section, Chad, when they should be aiming in the luxury section.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand why they're not taking bigger swings.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand what they can't close a deal.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: You asked what deals George Payton's
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: Every single one that's come out, we've heard reports from my cliffs or somebody else at the Broncos checked in, the Broncos were in on it, but they lost out.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so tired of that.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: At some point, it's not due diligence.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's failure as a GM to close one of these deals.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: If you're in on it, you have to win one of these.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: It helps out your team.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you would think that at some point competitor pride would take over on some of these situations like, I mean, hey, a few years back you did what you had to do to get Zach out into sign like he had plenty of suitors on the open market.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: So there is some kind of feeling and I understand it there is some kind of feeling exact that we're in or we're kind of operating from up.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: maybe not a superior posture, but we're in good shape as a roster.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a lot of truth to that real quicksack before we move on to the next chat here.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: We can't forget they did, they were one bonus fracture, free-cangery thing away from likely going to the Super Bowl.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a reason for that.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_02]: We can get out into the weeds.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: No one was talking about this by the way last season when the Broncos were winning 11th straight by no one.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean Broncos fans, but we can get out into the weeds and go,
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: and it's going to be harder this year.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all that.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: There's some truth to that.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: But Zach, they didn't get, they didn't win 14 games and a playoff game by accident.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: And if you want to talk about easy schedules, okay, you want, yeah, fine.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: I present to you the New England Patriots.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: That wasn't easy schedule.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: They faced exactly two plus 500 teams, both of them were the Buffalo bills.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: They split down the middle.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: So my point here is the Broncos are in good shape.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: They got the foundational corner stones right at the quarterback, the left tackle, the edge, the corner.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: They're really good up front on both sides of the ball.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: They got really good coverage in the secondary all around.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: They just bolster their linebackers.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: What we care about at this stage.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I acknowledge all that.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: Where's the help for both?
- 22:35[SPEAKER_02]: Where's the bone nicks help?
- 22:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's what in the reason why Zack fans are feeling a little irritated.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: unheard and discombobulated after day one.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, obviously you're right, they won 14 games, they went to the AFC championship, but how many victories Chad were comebacks or I don't wanna say flux, but they got lucky, that they didn't win solely on talent.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, a few of those were in there, and that's why we want the Broncos to make up those talent deficiency gaps by going out in the offseason and filling those areas of need.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: It came out in the losses.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: And even in some wins, how bad the Broncos were lacking and to see them do nothing, but sit on their hands, it's very disappointed at best.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: We got Michaela Parker the Duchess checking in.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: She's having a tough day.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: She's really having a hard time with what's been going on with the Broncos and I understand it.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_02]: I understand it.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_02]: She says, I'm done with the Broncos.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm done even watching a tired of mediocrity goodbye to my football life.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, look, Michaela, I hope you're just kind of feeling a little bit down in the dumps and that you're in a situation where, you know, this two shell pass.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: Because your team is not mediocre anymore.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos are one of the best teams in the NFL now and they have the pieces to sustain that, including the coaching staff.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of stuff to look forward to,
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: You got a new play collar, that's going to be fun, that's going to be exciting.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: Even if, and this is not going to happen, but even if the Broncos did not make one single free agent edition this offseason, they're going to go and draft a whole new class of rookies, and they've already got a really good team.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to be one of the teams to beat in the AFC.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: And look, it's disappointing what's happened so far, but my advice as your friend is to,
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: Pump the brakes a little bit a little bit because have a little bit of perspective it's not like now it's not like Zach let's say
- 24:39[SPEAKER_02]: the Drullock era, what unfolded, then the rust thing.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: As if the Broncos never climbed out of that and this is the kind of moves you got today, it would make a lot more sense that kind of just don't, I can't take this loser mentality anymore.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_02]: But they're back, they're close to the top of the mountain's deck.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully this shall pass for you, McKay-look and you'll be feeling a little bit better in the coming days when they finally do some stuff that.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Michaela, thank you so much for the super first and foremost.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: The last time I heard you like this was prior to the 2024 draft when the Broncos didn't have a quarterback or a plan to quarterback.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, just wait, if they get this right, Michaela, I promise you they're going to turn it around and they're going to be successful and you're going to be happy again.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm telling you once more, as long as the Broncos have a healthy bonus or just ponies on the roster in general, they're going to be competitive and they're going to be in the mix to win the division.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: And to go further into the playoffs and potentially go to the Super Bowl.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: I know it sounds tough right now.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's disappointing.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm disappointed too, but as always, like Chad says, it'll pass.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: Hang in there.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: And honestly, as fans, what more can you ask for?
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: Then have an a team, then rooting for a team's that has a quarterback that puts you in position to do those things, right?
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: When the division makes themselves shot at the ring each and every year.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: And guys, after all those years, we wandered the NFL Desert together.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_02]: Here at MHH, starting in 2019, 2020, I mean, we're talking dark days, 2021, 2022, the highs of getting Russell Wilson and the lows of being smacked down in the only one five games in the shame of Nathaniel Hackett.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: And then the high of OK, we hired Sean Payton, and then the low that he wasn't able to turn Russell back into the pro bull or
- 26:25[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the point that you just referenced.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: Zach, where Michaela was like, I can't do this anymore.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: And then Bonax comes and here we are.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: Two years later, they've won 24 regular season games and a playoff.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_02]: And so look, I understand how you're feeling right now, but this two shell pass and the Broncos are not done.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_02]: We got Lady D also checking in.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Dato.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: great here and for both of you ladies, not only in the chat tonight in the support obviously, but the three way texts that we had today while the moves were and weren't being done.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_02]: A lady D says, we did nothing to better ourselves.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm disgusted overall, both the chiefs and the raiders got stronger.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_02]: We got weaker.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: What the heck?
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: Zach, given move today on the part of the Broncos and say, okay, we got better because what they did is they just basically took care of the base, the guys that you know, they were already not on the roster because technically they were they're hitting free agency, but you know, guys who were key players for the team last season.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's part of the reason Zach she's kind of highlighting this why fans are going what the heck because the chiefs and Raiders they they've been busy today.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_02]: They've been making moves.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do like, obviously, the chiefs got Kenneth Walker.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to help their ground game.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: But what the Raiders done, they signed Linder Bomb, they signed two inside linebackers.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you do.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: When you have the cap space or you have the needs, you go out there and free agency and you find the players that can best fill those needs.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have a quarterback though.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's the difference between us and them.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: And the Brock is also swept the Raiders and the Chiefs last season.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: So we have to also keep in mind, the Brock is like, this is what Chad was saying earlier, it sucks today.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's disappointing, but this is a team that we still accorded back injury away from going to or potentially winning the Super Bowl, just because they lost out on a few players.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean the, the,
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: The run is over with.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's just getting started now.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: The window hasn't slammed shut and it's still early enough in free agency And that's coming from someone who is disappointed as well It's still only day one if they go out there and an hour from now and acquire jail and water Everything will be forgotten and we'll all kind of ruin having these conversations So thank you, Diana, but like I told Michaela like Chad said hang in there.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna get better
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: for sure.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: And guys, I hope you're hearing us on this because it feels dark and low right now, but guys, this will pass.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: There's every reason in the world still to be super psyched and stoked about the direction this team has had it.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, the ladies of MHH are showing out with a awesome support tonight.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: Not everyone's feeling great about everything, but the support is amazing.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: We got Shannon checking in from the top rope.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: All three pivotal Mount Rushmore superstars, dear members and really close friends.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_02]: Shannon says with a very generous super chat.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, Chad Zach and Broncos country.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_02]: She says a bit disappointed, but we still have Beau and we just made it to the AFC championship game.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos aren't desperate.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: The sky isn't falling even though today wasn't ideal.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: Still bleed orange and blue.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: And look, I'm not trying to please in no way shape or form anyone who's feeling this way.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not trying to shame anyone or anyway,
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: productive, positive kind of mindset and posture to take with this right now.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: Not the greatest thing that you wanted to see day one.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_02]: You had some hopes.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: You had some guys that you were, you know, had your heart set on a little bit.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos didn't make it happen, but it's not the end of the world.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: Let's count our blessings a little bit with what the Broncos actually do have.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Shannon, thank you so much.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with everything you said here, but one sentence stands out and I'll just end it on that note.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: We still have both.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I said a minute ago, as long as the Broncos have Bonyx, they will be okay.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: They will be competitive.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: We all want them to help out Bo Moore and I think they will.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: At some point they're gonna have to either going forward or in the draft, but as long as you have Bowunder Center man, you're in every game and the Broncos are gonna be fighting every season for the division, for the number one seed and so on and so forth.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: And you're right, this guy isn't falling.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like it's the AFC championship got reaction around here.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's free agency.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be OK. Yeah.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, let's count the blessings a little bit and look forward to what's to come.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're still, we'll wake up tomorrow's act and it's still going to be the first wave of free agency.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like second wave of free agency, usually is kind of the second half of the week that we're
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mean, technically, free agency hasn't even opened yet, none of these guys can sign a contract yet, you know, that's Wednesday.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: So, it's still early days.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's still early days.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: Love you, Shannon.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: Love you, lady.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_02]: Love you, Michaela.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know this.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: Victory time checking in again, back to back days saying at this point, what signings would get you guys excited?
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: For me, I want to trade for Chris Alavi, Garrett Wilson or Jalen Wattle, so I can feel some happiness.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know, that's part of it, too.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think Zack, some of the withdrawal that fans are feeling right now is, you know, you lose football, it kind of governs the rhythm of your life from July to January.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: You lose out on it and you're kind of hoping to get a little bit of that feeling back, a little bit of that spark back by what they do in the free agent period and what they do in the draft and when they don't do anything, you're like,
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: What the heck, you know, where's my, where's my football?
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: Feels like we, what the heck's going on?
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's address the elephant in the room as to why the Broncos seem a little tentative as to not making trades.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that goes back to one person and one person only, Russell Wilson.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: I truly believe, and I can't verify this is it's all my speculation.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: I truly believe George Peyton got so burned and ownership got so burned by the trade for an extension of Russell Wilson that they have not approached a deal like that since a blockbuster type deal.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: and trading for an olave or Garrett Wilson or Jalen Wattle would qualify as a blockbuster.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: I would go, hey, to be crude.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, a lot of six to midnight talking my head going on Chad, if we can get one of these receivers, I just don't see it being that feasible with how the Broncos are approaching this signing period in the soft season.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: They genuinely like the roster.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: They genuinely like their guys, and they might add a few and celery pieces or two, but they're going to run it back.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_02]: By and large, and I mean, to answer the question, guys that are out there right now, that I would still be feel good that we took a step forward, David and Joker would tie it in, even Dallas got it.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: I was really bummed that my guy, Kate, gotten got re-signed pretty quickly today by the bucks, but those are a couple of names.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: Now, running back before I grab Phil here, guys, I mean, there's Joe Nixon who's an intriguing player.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_02]: via help to the Broncos, but he's now 30 and he's coming off of a 2025 season that was entirely lost to injury and he's used to making roughly 10 million a year.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: Probably going to have a hard time finding that right now because of his age and the fact that he's coming off of his season.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_02]: So those are some of the names we'll keep talking about it.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_02]: But Phil, good to see you brother, says good evening, Chad Zach and Deacon Scott.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it was a day of let's keep the base
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I still expect to splash soon.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome image age for life, Broncos for life.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: I do too.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: I, again, guys, are we talking like Godzilla?
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: Splash?
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: Probably not.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: Although there's still a few guys out there that could possibly
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Bobby Okarek is still available.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking here.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Devon Lloyd is still available.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: Just on the defensive level, but they're not going to go spend huge money on a lineback or what's beyond us.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: They just spent money bringing back single tenants to their net.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: The the positions in my opinion to watch right now are tied in and running back.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: So of the guys that are still out there, Zach, at those positions, who do you like?
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, one also and anything right now would qualify as a splash because the Broncos have signed literally zero outside for agents, but another one to keep in mind maybe is Cam Jordan.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: I know he's getting older.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's 36 or 37 now, but he knows Sean Peyton obviously still has something left in the tank.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: And the Broncos might want to replace that veteran leadership they lost at defense event with JFM going to the Tennessee Titans, but I don't really like it.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: Other running backs out there,
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: Romeo dobs that receivers out there.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: I know you're not a fan of him.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's basically it.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: They have their chances the Broncos and they didn't take them.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not so much that I'm not a fan of dobs is just that I don't see him offering anything really that they don't already have.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: And in fact, if you go out and sign a dobs, all you're doing is pushing the guys you've been developing down the depth chart.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_02]: What's the point in that if you're going to bring someone in bring someone in who's a clear
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: CLEAR, clear, upgrade, and or checks boxes that are currently unchecked by this current wide receiver room.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see, I think that's also pretty good mindset to have here fill.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_02]: There's something coming, is it going to be a big splash?
- 35:51[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not, but it's going to be splashes.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos aren't going to sit on their hands of the entire free agent period.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: Um, we got bones for eight, four, four checking in bones.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_02]: Well, thank you, pal.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_02]: So it's why we signed Dobbins when we all know he's not going to play a four year.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like the Sternad signing.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's been in the league way too long and nothing.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't say nothing.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, real quick, your first point there triggered something in my mind, which is worth discussion.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_02]: But real quick, Sternad is not done nothing.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's been signed in back to back years.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_02]: as on one-year deals to kind of be a depth linebacker and a special teams contributor.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: But in each of those two years, he's been called upon because of injuries up the depth chart to play.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: And in both instances, 2024, eight games he started played really, really well.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_02]: 2025, eight more games he started played even better was probably
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: the reason.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Bo had to play out of his mind, obviously, and the team come together, but without that interception in week seven against the New York Giants in the fourth quarter, there's not enough sand left in the hourglass to get the Broncos, the points they needed to even tie that game, let alone win it.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm stoked on Sternet.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's, and thank you for becoming a member of Bones.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: Really appreciate it.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: He's on the
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: the rise.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: He's a man on the come as they used to say back in the day.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: Now Zack what's interesting though, his initial point is, okay, showing some love to J.K. Dobbins, a guy that, you know, if the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, we can safely expect is not going to give you a full season.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: The same can be said about Drake Greenland.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_02]: So why the value on Dobbins and
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: everyone's wondering why the broadcast and thank you bones becoming a member today really appreciate that man really appreciate that thank you so much.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think the underlying thing here is the the Wal-Mart's the the ownership group you don't and I mentioned this before but you don't get to be a billionaire by being reckless and being aggressive with spending you do it by being frugal more often than not and what do Greg Pender say in the press conference after the season you know he said we're going to be
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: What was it, Chad?
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: Something agree.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot what he said in terms of being aggressive.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: It was like purposely aggressive or tactfully aggressive.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't going to go out there and throw money for the sake of throwing money away.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: And that we've seen that come to light now.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: So my whole point in saying that is that's why you have Dobbins coming back because he's cheap.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever the contract terms come into be at, it's gonna be less than what Kenneth Walker got, what E.T.N.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: got, he's cheap.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: Adam trapped in these other players their cheap.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: And for now, that's how the Broncos want to get by.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't agree with it, but that's the way they're employing the off season.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think part of the mindset too is they are betting on their internal expectation on some of these players really continuing to develop and take steps forward, like RJ Harvey.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_02]: Pat Bryant, Troy Franklin, Marvin Mimsieven, contract year.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: Duke Rose, back to back nights, brother, appreciate you very much and it's good to see.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: He says, I'm disappointed so far, fellas.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think everybody is and I don't think anyone's wrong to feel a little bit of disappointment, but I would pump the brakes on panicking at this stage.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: It works, it's early goings.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I apologize for the brain fart guys.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Shiloh, opportunistically aggressive was the term that great plan are used.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, and that's basically how they're going about it right now.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: They don't see they have any opportunities to be aggressive.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_01]: And that explains why you've settled for JK Dobbins and you settle for some of these other recidings, just the way they're going about business.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm just appointed to do.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of people, it's like Marcus on Facebook saying, I don't understand why we cut green lobby kept a 32 year old single tune and can't cover.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the internal view of these players is obviously the one that matters the most.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: Internally, and I don't just mean the coaches, but
- 39:53[SPEAKER_02]: players love Alex Singleton.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's a team leader, he's a glue guy, and he does produce.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: He's not going to fool anybody in terms of being the best coverage linebacker, but again, we'll submit.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: He improved in that department second half of the season.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_02]: If you go back and watch it, he really did get better.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_02]: So, Michaela jumping in again, she's like, look, we might win five or six games this year.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I don't know, I can't, I just disagree with you, my friend, on that.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what's changed?
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: You lost John Franklin Myers and Dragerine Ma?
- 40:27[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, that, that, I mean, I'm just trying to put myself in that mindset and think, why, what I go from 14 to 5 or 6 because JFM left, I mean, not to say Zack that seven and a half sacks aren't valuable, but the Broncos had a few sacks to spare, right?
- 40:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they led the league in sacks both back to back years and then some.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: So, okay, I'm telling you right now, my friend, my dear friend, you know this, I love you.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_02]: pump the brakes.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_02]: It'll be alright.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: Stop worrying so much about it for now.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_02]: Things are going to change.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_02]: Talents come and I promise you.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I saw with my own eyes a Sean Payton Coach Broncos team when eight games with no bone next under center.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: So unless Michaela, God forbid a million times Bonax gets injured again and he has a debilitating injury, they're going to win more than five or six games.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: I know it seems like it's crappy right now, but the base as the term that we use the second to go of the team for the most part is returning, but most importantly, you have number 10.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: They will be at minimum
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: They should be anyway, at 10 when 11 when team in 2026.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, real quick.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_02]: This is a really fair point here from Mr. Producer.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: Scott put a pin in Jordan just for a second here.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: The winner of March is never the winner of January.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's never the winner of January.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the Broncos, what's that?
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: We got the JK Dobbins contract terms according to Tom Hill.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say I get this, Chad.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: Two years, $20 million, $8 million fully guaranteed at signing.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: Not that, not that cheap.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not that cheap.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: Could have spent a few million more and got a better running back.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: So $20 million and what was it guaranteed?
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: $8 at fully guaranteed at signing.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot of money for an injury prone running back now.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_02]: So that's basically a one year $8 million deal probably, you know, they'll re-examine it this time again last next year if you doesn't move forward.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_02]: But like back to this point.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: winner of March, never the winner of January, even think back exact to the most epic free agent class.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: I would argue the Broncos ever signed 2014 to Marcus Wear, a keep-to-le manual Sanders T.J. Ward.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: Epic, right?
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: Did they win the Super Bowl that year?
- 43:02[SPEAKER_02]: They definitely won March.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_02]: Did they win the Super Bowl that year?
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_02]: It eventually, the next year, following year, 2015 they did,
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: But it's a fair point.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's one dream team winner of March, examples that cautionary tell after another.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: So there is something to be said there about Mr. Producer's point.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, remember the 2010, I think it was eagles that got awesome law and a whole other bunch of players and loaded up.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: And what they do that year, nothing.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't win the Super Bowl.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: So it's true, you can't win a title through for agency, but you damn sure can like supplement your team and kind of put the cherries on top of your roster or at least address major areas of weakness.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: And it's objective to say, not subjective, that major areas of weakness coming into for agency were running back receiver and tight end.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: And what if the Brock was done to fill those needs?
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: Except for a $20 million JK dobbins.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_02]: Here's another point.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_02]: Well said, Scott.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: He says, I mean, who are the big spenders today?
- 44:03[SPEAKER_02]: The jets, the raiders, the titans.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_02]: They might not win 14 games combined.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's a fair point.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's a fair point.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I think it's fair to say, guys, you can be disappointed without the sky falling.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the, the Broncos organization is not coming to a screeching halt.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: And look, you know what it tells me, Zach.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: Twenty mil, cool down.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Michaela jumping in again saying, change my profile pictures.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_02]: Twenty million cool down.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_02]: cool down have algear for coulda had algear for six million a year.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_02]: What that tells me, keep her up for sec.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: What that tells me, Zach, the amount of money he got and why it was halfway through day one of legal tampering that the deal got done was he had a market.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think he ended up having a bigger market and the Broncos wanted him back.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_02]: So in these cases, probably with Singleton too, like why wouldn't they have signed him before?
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: Because there's only one reason why it happened today.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_02]: They wanted to see what the value was.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: They wanted to see what the rest of the league was thinking.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_02]: And so that's where the NFL was.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: And if you look at it somewhere around there anyway, if you think about it, Zach, I mean, again, yeah, the injury thing, he played 10 games.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_02]: But those 10 games that JK Dobbins played, he was one of the top five running backs in the NFL.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: So it is interesting though.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Broncos, and again, my speculation, they ended up bidding against themselves with JK Dobbins' chat.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: They struck out on everybody else, Dobbins knew that the Broncos wanted him back, so he could say, listen, he won't be back, pay me $10 million a year, pay me $8 million full of guaranteed signing.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, you could have had Tyler else year, like Michaela saying, if this is, I do agree with you here Michaela, you could have had him for $60 a year, send your paying $10 for JK Dobbins.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's a bigger contract, Chad, that I thought Dobbans was going to get point blank paper.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, for sure.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: Me, too.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it would be something like three or four million a year, especially going off of what they paid him last year.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_02]: Now real quick, here's where J.K. Dobbans ranked in the NFL before the injury.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_02]: He ranked fifth in carries, fifth in yardage, and fourth in the number of runs of 10 or
- 46:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's a top five running back when he's healthy.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: But that's what people are saying is like, when he's healthy, when is he healthy?
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's what the Broncos really got to figure out.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: Now, if they're going to get a return deck on that level of investment, man, they got to be working closely with him.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sure they are to get to the bottom of some of the soft tissue lower body stuff.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: And really do use that expertise.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: They've developed with bow-lowery to keep this dude on the field.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: Jordan Tade, I'm thank you for your patience, brother.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: changing the play calling the key to unlocking the personnel.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: Clever, interesting.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: In some cases, I think Zack, what I'm most interested to see, guys, you got to remember, the only basis we have to go on, there's two things in terms of anticipating what the Davis web calling of the offense is going to look like.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we know what the scheme is, it's Sean Payton's offense.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: So that we kind of have an understanding of other than that,
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: that's it.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_02]: So a lot of it is projection.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: So all I can tell you Jordan is my hope when it comes to unlocking personnel is that the tight ends are going to end up being more involved three things.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_02]: Tight ends more involved in the passing games act a better efficiency with the deep passing and then the run game better efficiency there.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_02]: Those are the three things that I hope for
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're right.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's so early right now and I don't think it's cyclical.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think both things could be true Jordan play calling is the key to unlocking the personnel, but the personnel could be the key to unlocking the play calling.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we've been ranting about for almost an hour now is the Broncos haven't done enough to help out bonyx and supplement their offense with better players.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: Once they get those better players in place, you're going to see the play calling take off and vice versa.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: It really works like Simpatico.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the super.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_02]: We got Cody Dubb, another deer member checking in on Super Chat.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Bradley.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, right now, just on YouTube alone, you know, we're pushing north of 300 folks live with this.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_02]: So guys, please smash the like button.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_02]: Help us reach more Broncos fans that are just like you out there by hitting the like button for the algorithm.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_02]: Cody says the raiders have picked up some good players, but they also lost a key piece to their defense.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_02]: Good point.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_02]: The chiefs, yeah, they picked up Walker,
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: free agency A nover and draft trades happen.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, guys, there's a long row R O W left to whole here.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we're just getting started.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: And the Broncos are starting not from square one.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they have a very good roster.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_02]: You know, maybe we're questioning why this feeling of kind of arrogance.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to not feel that that's kind of what's emanating from, but I'm not.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to choose that not to view it as arrogance.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to choose to view it as confidence, specifically confidence and bonex.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: The thing is though, both of those teams got draft picks back for those players.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like they let them walk for nothing, make Duffy in the Kansas City's case and Max Crosby in the Raiders case.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_01]: You're talking about multiple first round picks.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I understand what you're saying here, but the Broncos didn't get that back and they lost two starters.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: So the sky is not falling.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's not time to press the panic buttons.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_01]: The broccas are still going to be a very good team, but it's also fair to say they should have done a little more today and they might have overpay JK Dobbins a little bit, just like Adam Troutman, because of it.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm still a little bit stunned at the amount of money they gave JK Dobbins.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_02]: So what are the implications?
- 50:04[SPEAKER_02]: What are the implications?
- 50:05[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk more about that thunder snow.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome, dude.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's a newer name, at least that I recognize on Super Chat.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: So welcome, big dog.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for the support on Super Chat.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_02]: Don't be a stranger.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_02]: It says, there has got to be a trade in the works to explain this approach.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos need the cash.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: They need the cash, expensive top end receiver inbound.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_02]: very interesting.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, George Peyton has always been for the most part pretty active Zach as a offseason guy.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, because he came from the background of both draft and pro side as far as personnel.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's never been one to sit on the sidelines and he's the one Zach who likes to talk about we're going to be in on every deal.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't mean we're going to close every deal, but we're going to be in on it.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_02]: You got to expect things are coming because things are
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: That I'm not sure of.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'd love to see it because again, at this stage, I get it.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_02]: You've short up the foundation.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_02]: Got to be able to do that for both, but you really got to get him some weapons, dude.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like, come on now.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm saying as well and thank you thunder for the for the super and welcome to the to the party here, but you might see a trade absolutely, especially because the Broncos chat were awarded to compensatory picks today for the draft number 256 and 256 seven overall they could flip those picks and I imagine the Broncos will make a trade thunder, but like Chad was saying and I perfectly agree with
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably going to be for a player that's like a seat to your player or a lesser known guy.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to be going out and trading for a Justin Jefferson or probably for a Garrett Wilson or Jalen Waterle, he will add more players, but don't expect any mad in superstar blockbuster type moves.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Leo Chanel still out there, you know, as far as linebacker.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_02]: But then again, so is Devon Lloyd, you know, it's kind of interesting that Devon Lloyd
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: before Devon Lloyd.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: And what that tells me is the Lloyd camp is really asking for a boat about loaded coin.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_02]: They're swinging for the fences.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_02]: And the NFL's like, Brad Murdoch, check it in and dare remember on Super Chat.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, bro.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_02]: And he says, good evening, everyone.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_02]: I hate to see people thrown in the towel on a team that was a broken ankle away from the Super Bowl.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be patient, everyone.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_02]: They know what they're
- 52:30[SPEAKER_02]: I, hey, look, generally speaking, like I'll complain about Sean Payton and how it affects the press and makes those offseason longer and, you know, sometimes how he snaps and this and that, but I do trust him, Zach.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's proven to me as the Broncos head coach, he knows what he's doing.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_02]: And George Payton, you know, no one's going to bat a thousand.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think any team in the NFL in January 2022 that was quarterback desperate wouldn't have made that trade that George Peyton made to get Russell Wilson.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_02]: So on one hand, you know, it was a big, it was a big mess up, but can you blame him for swinging?
- 53:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, especially coming out of that five, six year period, the Broncos had been in relative to the quarterback position.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: So I agree.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be patient, guys.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be patient.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_02]: Trust the
- 53:24[SPEAKER_02]: You want to be the one going, yeah, okay, yeah, that's what we thought.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Brad, thank you so much for that and it's important if anyone listening, it doesn't take it from chatter or myself, take it from Shannon or take it from Brad here that have said the same thing.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it sucks that the Brock was didn't do more today, but this is still a team that was within this close of making or even winning the Super Bowl and they still have many of the same players left in place, including the quarterback.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just see how tomorrow shakes out and if we can eat some of her own crow in a good way later this week.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like my grandpa used to have this phrase.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_02]: I never quite understood what it meant, but like to say they were this close.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_02]: He would say they were a stone's eye throw away from a stone's eye throw.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_02]: Which I never really quite understood, but that's how close the Broncos were.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's not like they're starting from some over week position roster wise.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_02]: They're in really good shape.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, dude, they got
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: They got a really good, I mean, even look at the AFC West point to a better roster than the Denver Broncos currently.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_02]: So they're just being smart in their approach.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_02]: And as Fox family jumps in, I understand it, feeling bummed that we didn't go after a running back today, he says, but hopefully something's cooking in the background.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: Also the second wave can get better deals too.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, even JK Dobbins, look at what he did, he was a big reason the Broncos were able to kind of climb out of that less than ideal start to the season and get on that winning streak before he went down.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_02]: He was a big reason for that.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: Zach Fox family breaks dear member checkin and love you bro
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I appreciate that Fox.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate their own hair, absolutely.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: And again, it's okay to be bombed.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to fall into one camp or the other.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to be a sunshineer or a doom and gloomer.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's okay to have multiple feelings.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_01]: And to me, that's the ideal position to be in.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_01]: Is you can recognize the broccoli should have done more.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: You can also recognize the broccoli who's still going to be a competitive team in 2026.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_01]: Regardless of not getting Kenneth Walker, Travis, ETN, and like you said,
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: We still don't know what to get to come.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos we can wake up tomorrow morning and they make some big trade and and it makes this wound a lot more easy to do with.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you for the super and it's important to keep this premise in mind.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_02]: How could it happen tonight guys.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, last night.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_02]: I was literally laying in bed after a busy day, worked from nine to nine.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm laying in bed in the Broncosign, Nate Atkins back.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_02]: You know, so be on alert, man, because you're in that rare first two days, which they call the legal tampering window, which by the way, if, if,
- 56:07[SPEAKER_02]: Adam Troutman's right in multiple teams were reaching out to him and he's going to have this market.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_02]: Why do we even have legal tampering?
- 56:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like why do we even have tampering as a rule?
- 56:16[SPEAKER_02]: No one honors it.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_02]: Sam BAM jumping in again.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, bro.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Sam.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_02]: I have full faith and confidence in Sean Peyton and George Peyton.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you think, though, will be John Franklin Myers replacement?
- 56:30[SPEAKER_02]: Any other free agents for the D line or past pressures available
- 56:37[SPEAKER_02]: Zach, I really think the Broncos are basically going to air on the guys they have in house and the developmental factor.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_02]: So you have Ioma, Oazarekate who really played well last year, stepping up and I think he's kind of going to be given the first opportunity, the first bite at that apple to step in for JFM.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_02]: Problem is he's just never going to be that interior past
- 57:04[SPEAKER_02]: Savion Jones could be that guy.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_02]: But it's really too early.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_02]: We saw so little of him.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, nothing, basically one game, two games active, whatever, as a rookie, but I think they're betting on those guys' developments.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_02]: I can never say never, but the draft as well.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_01]: I say beyond Jones more than likely is the top in house guy.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_01]: There's also I mentioned earlier Cameron Jordan, the Saints legendary player.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's a free agent.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_01]: I know he's a little older, but he knows John Pate and can help fill some of that veteran leadership that JFM is taking with him to Tennessee.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_01]: and also in the draft chat maybe not number 30 or maybe number 30 there's there's Clemson defensive tackle, Peter Woods, there's Caleb Banks.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_01]: There's some interesting choices in the draft if they want to go that route but I think in-house like Travis saying Sam, Savion Jones was drafted for that purpose last season and his time is right now.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_02]: Well said, well said, it's going to be fun to see how it plays out.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_02]: Phil says, I'm guessing, of course, but the coaches must be filling that our players will take a leap forward right along with both.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_02]: There's also a possibility a big trade could still happen.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're not done, guys.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_02]: They're, they're going to make some moves.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_02]: Some outside players are going to be added to this roster.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_02]: But it's probably going to be more on that 2024 kind of.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_02]: level of the second and third wave guys unless Zach, they have some big blockbuster trade that they've been working on, which is possible.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's possible.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just not going to expect it.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_02]: So to speak.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what happens, Phil.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: All right, where are we at?
- 58:42[SPEAKER_02]: We're at 58 minutes, guys.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_02]: We're almost out of time here tonight.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's been great getting all this stuff off
- 58:52[SPEAKER_02]: getting it all out in front of us, analyzing it, getting out some of the emotions, and then also not so much a reality check, but a perspective check.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I really think those who are Zach still feeling really kind of down in the dumps and almost like this tone of betrayal somehow out there,
- 59:14[SPEAKER_02]: Um, counter blessings could be a Falcons fan.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_02]: No offense to my dear friend Scott.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the Falcons have had not had the the football God smile and on them ever.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_02]: The closest they ever got was that 28 to three Super Bowl.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_02]: And then it's been some dark dark days for them could be a lot worse.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_02]: Count the blessings.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_02]: This team is still Zach in very good shape.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_02]: And so because they're in good shape,
- 59:38[SPEAKER_02]: They're taking a more measured and strategic approach.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to really fault them if I'm being honest.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_02]: The one thing that disappoints me the most, honestly, I'll say it again.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's not that they didn't swing for Walker.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's not that, you know, at TN or something.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_02]: I still don't understand why they page Adam Troutman, the amount that they did.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_02]: I can bring myself around on JK Dobbins and try and get to the bottom of that and talk to some
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_02]: and figure out what that might have been about.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_02]: But the atom troutman thing, that's one move I will just frankly never understand.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I guess we shouldn't be too surprised, exactly because he's been a Sean Peyton guy since Sean Peyton got here.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_02]: Since before, Sean Peyton got here.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Diana, thank you so much, $5 super, you're second of the nighter, definitely multiples.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_01]: What bothers me is they didn't do anything to help Beau, I bleed orange and blue, I love my brocos team, but we need higher play.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_01]: And you're absolutely right to feel that way, Diana, and as a vested brocos fan, you're entitled.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_01]: to feel that way.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm encouraging fans to be critical of the team, but not to fall into a one extreme or the other.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be some blind cult member and love everything the Brocos do, but don't be, you know, miserable and negative.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_01]: Not saying you are anybody else's and just hate on and crap on everything.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_01]: The Brocos do either.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_01]: They're right there in the middle.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's where you should be.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's where you are and it's okay to feel a little disappointed after how today went.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_02]: Real quick, Zach, it's been a couple of days since we were able to check on our dear buddy from down under Glenn, who says, I'm going to read this off the screen.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_02]: He says, I think we all need to take collective, collective breath at running back.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_02]: Signing Dobbins was the number one priority.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_02]: His list-franc injury was not an injury-prone event.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_02]: There is still talent and the draft.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_02]: We have 30 million plus left, tight end linebacker and even running backs on the board still.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos didn't free up all that money to sit on their hands.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: The resigning deals have good upfront
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_02]: to limited overall.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_02]: Let's freaking go state of being MHH for life.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's some good.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we do know that a good chunk of that money they freed up has now been spent on retaining these guys, especially when you're paying Zach, you know, basically 8 million guaranteed to JK on signing and Alex gets 17 and a half million over two years.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I just don't even ever want to talk about the Adam Troutman deal again.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_02]: And that's just the one that I'm like,
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_02]: to hack dude, Sam jumping in again saying so as of right now March 9, 2026 at this point of free agency.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos are at the very worst a 12 win team and that's at worst.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_02]: 12 wins likely wins the AFC West but they still need some additions.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I think that's a pretty fair estimation.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'll be a little, I'll go a little bit farther and I'll say, you know, probably 10-11 wins is the bare bones bottom for this team.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_02]: And even that Zach, you're in the playoffs.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_02]: You might not win the AFC West at 10-11, but guys, they have, this is a juggernaut roster.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_02]: This is a roster that a lot of other teams covet and value and the Broncos are just being measured.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Sam, thank you for your additional super at the end of the show at the buzzer here.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's so hard.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_01]: I got to be honest.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's so hard because there's so many different factors that play here.
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_01]: The offseason still has yet to play out the draft free agency for that matter as well.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know how the games are going to be aligned on the schedule.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know what the other teams in the division are going to do.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's so tough to say 12 wins or this or that.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't think the Broncos would win 14 games last year.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't think Kansas City would be as bad as they were either.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_01]: So we just have to have confidence that Bonax gets healthy and stays healthy because as long as he is, they will be in on it and they will be more than likely closer to what you're saying here.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_01]: But like Chad was saying, I said earlier, I don't see any reason why.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_01]: Even if they don't add another player to the roster, I don't see why with the healthy Bonax.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_01]: They can't win 10 or 11 games at minimum.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_02]: Alright guys, we got a couple of messages for you before we dip, don't go anywhere.
