Transcript
- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? That's like blasphemy or
- 0:12something. Welcome to What's your least
- 0:14favorite scary Movie? The podcast where we talk about
- 0:17the good, the bed, the ugly, and the absurd, and all of our
- 0:20favorite. And least favorite scary movies
- 0:22because we believe every horror movie rifle has this fan base.
- 0:24Even if we don't always get. It my name is Travis.
- 0:27My name is Jesse. And do you think that Jesus has
- 0:29a big Dick or Jesus probably had a big penis, right?
- 0:34I mean, I thought that that was where you're going to open
- 0:36things up with. Today I thought about it, but I
- 0:39felt like I needed to kind of give everybody a warning that
- 0:41we're going to get a little playfully blasphemous.
- 0:44Yeah, I went there already then. Yeah, this is our live, uncut
- 0:49and mostly undrawn monthly bonus series.
- 0:52To be or not to be where we troll the we troll the free
- 0:56streaming services to look for something maybe a little lower
- 1:00budget, maybe without a lot of advertisement or wide release,
- 1:04and we just try and explore something new.
- 1:08Today Travis has chosen something thematically
- 1:11appropriate as this is being released on Easter Sunday.
- 1:15Yeah, that's right. I just happened to pick Buddy
- 1:19Buddy Bible Camp. Yeah, yeah, not Easter, but we
- 1:23are getting religious here today on the episode.
- 1:26So, you know, I hope everybody is ready for that.
- 1:29Yeah, so this is this is gonna be an interesting one to talk
- 1:33about. I I'm kind of excited to get
- 1:36into it. Travis, do you have background
- 1:39information on it? I do.
- 1:42I got some background stuff here.
- 1:44Why did you first of all, why did you choose this?
- 1:46Well, I had one that I was going to pick before it was called
- 1:50Wolf Cop. It seemed like a really fun
- 1:52movie, but we watched on the last drive in last night a movie
- 1:56called Rotten Tail, which was like almost the exact same
- 2:00premise and sounded exactly like it.
- 2:02So I didn't really want to watch the same movie 2 times.
- 2:04Which, by the way, we did discuss Rotten Tail has one of
- 2:08the best tag lines we've ever seen in a movie, which is
- 2:10Hippity, Hopity, Homicide. Yeah, I do like.
- 2:13No notes. I don't know that we could ever
- 2:15punch that. Out.
- 2:16So yeah. So I have like just a backup
- 2:20instead if I ever, you know, if I didn't end up feeling that and
- 2:23bloody bloody Bible camp is one of them so fuck it.
- 2:25Let's just do that. It's come up on Amazon Prime.
- 2:27I've seen it there like so many times.
- 2:29I've watched the trailer at a time or two just because I was
- 2:31curious about it and I was like what the hell this time you know
- 2:34it seems low budget. It's like it's a perfect to be
- 2:37movie. So let's do it.
- 2:39OK. All right.
- 2:40So bloody bloody Bible camp that released May 5th, 2012.
- 2:46It is written by Shelby McIntyre and Vito Tribucho Okay.
- 2:52Directed by Vito Tribucho. I'm not sure if I'm saying the
- 2:55name right. It's a Trabu CCO.
- 2:58Okay, that's good. I guess is I could venture
- 3:02without looking it up. Okay.
- 3:04Music by Reggie Bannister and Carlos Vivas.
- 3:06Reggie Bannister is Father Cummings, right?
- 3:10OK. He's also somebody else.
- 3:11I'm going to get in. Yeah.
- 3:12Well, yeah. OK.
- 3:14So he is Father Cummings and he is also you are not familiar,
- 3:19but all of the people out there that love Phantasm.
- 3:22Yes, he is Reggie from Phantasm. You're you're not familiar.
- 3:28You're just giving me a little. Yeah, people out there that love
- 3:31Phantasm. Reggie's one of the most
- 3:32consistent characters throughout the entire series.
- 3:34He's the ice cream man in the first one.
- 3:36He is like the best friends with the one of the brothers.
- 3:41I don't really know most of the other characters names in that.
- 3:44This isn't doing much for you. This is OK.
- 3:46He plays guitar in it. So he actually plays guitar.
- 3:49OK Like that's like one of those things.
- 3:51Special effects makeup done by Autopsy FX Starring Reggie
- 3:56Bannister as father Richard Cummings.
- 3:58Autopsy. Autopsy effects.
- 4:01I thought it was autopsy. Because.
- 4:04I remember seeing it on the credits and being like, oh,
- 4:06that's clever because it's like a plan autopsy.
- 4:08It might be, actually, I don't know.
- 4:10I could have written it down wrong.
- 4:11I wrote down autopsy, but Autopsy effects probably is
- 4:14right. I don't know they it's either
- 4:16one of those two, all right. Starring Reggie Bannister is
- 4:20Father Richard Cummings. Evic Corveilla as Millie.
- 4:24Jay Fields as Brother Zeke. Matt Aiden as Tad.
- 4:29Ted. Ted Jessica Sonnenborn as
- 4:31Britney. Deborah Venegas as Jennifer,
- 4:34Troy Guthrie as Vance. Christopher Raff as Timmy sister
- 4:38Mary Chopper is played by Tim Sullivan.
- 4:40Yes, that's Tim Sullivan that we talked about on our Screams
- 4:43Scream Queens Two episode or Patreon episode.
- 4:47And Ron Jeremy as Jesus. All right, Budget or Bug?
- 4:54Ted. Jesse.
- 4:55Well, Travis, I think I'm going to have to go with bug Ted.
- 4:59I'm going to go with bug Ted also, even though I don't have
- 5:02the budget here, but this is like probably the.
- 5:05Surefire. I think that this is probably
- 5:07the most obvious bug Ted movie I've seen in a long, long time.
- 5:11I don't have any box office information for this either.
- 5:14I do have an IMDb score. Do you think that that is budget
- 5:19or bug Ted high or low? I don't want to guess because I
- 5:25actually saw it. No, you did.
- 5:27Yeah, cuz I kept going. That person looks familiar.
- 5:29That person looks. Familiar.
- 5:30You probably knew who the killer was before.
- 5:32I did. Well here's the thing though, is
- 5:35that in a small production like this, sometimes people are just
- 5:37used as like a body double. So it's just like, well, maybe
- 5:40that's the thing, cuz we're gonna see that on Winnie the
- 5:42Pooh also. Oh, OK, yeah.
- 5:44So when that comes out, like this week, OK, yeah, it I just
- 5:49assumed it was kind of like one of those, like, budget things.
- 5:52Oh, we need somebody to fill in this costume.
- 5:54I This movie seemed to have very little plot to it, so I was
- 5:57like, oh, we probably just would ever actually find out who the
- 5:59killer is. Yeah, yeah, it's OK.
- 6:03So the IMDb is 4.5 S. Which is higher than I would
- 6:08have expected. Yeah, same here.
- 6:10All right, so I did pick 3 movies, OK, that I tried to keep
- 6:14on theme with religious. OK, this one, though the first
- 6:19one's kind of cheating. But like, I'm going to say I was
- 6:22deceived. It was written and then I found
- 6:25out that it was actually a 2013 movie.
- 6:27Oh, sometimes like it will say 2012.
- 6:29It was like in the festival circuit.
- 6:31I didn't see any alternate release dates in 2012.
- 6:34Oh yeah, but it was listed in like Wikipedia's 2012 Horror
- 6:40movies page. So I don't know, like it threw
- 6:43me off, but I had that included because it's called Crossbearer.
- 6:48Yeah. So the release date I did get
- 6:51for that is October 9th, 2013. I don't have a budget or a
- 6:55worldwide gross, but the IMDb score is 3.3 out of 10.
- 7:00Wow. Yeah, I don't really know like
- 7:03what all is going on with that movie.
- 7:05Like it seems like it's a really low budget religious related
- 7:12horror movie. Are you looking it up right now?
- 7:13I'm looking you look up the release dates.
- 7:16Yeah, he is. Just a Heather is broke.
- 7:21She has a soul sucking job as a stripper.
- 7:23Her living girlfriend Victoria has a baby and a coke problem.
- 7:27Her boss, Harry, is an abusive maniac.
- 7:28Life cannot get much worse. Or so she thought.
- 7:31OK, Jesus. OK, that sounds terrible.
- 7:34Moving on. 2nd movie ad. The words of Salem Rob Zombie
- 7:40movie. The reason I chose that is
- 7:42because they end up becoming a coven of devil worshippers.
- 7:47So. So a Rob Zombie movie.
- 7:49Yeah, pretty much, yeah. That released September 10th,
- 7:522012 with a $1.5 million budget and a $1.5 million gross.
- 8:00Cute zombie and zombie. IMDb 5.2 out of 10 I've seen
- 8:06that I've I've wanted to watch that one.
- 8:07For a while have said that that's Sherry Moon Zombies best
- 8:09acting. I've heard that I heard somebody
- 8:13once described it as if Rob Zombie tried to make a shower.
- 8:17I don't know how accurate that is because I've never seen the
- 8:20movie. But I haven't seen that one so
- 8:21far today, and this is on the record.
- 8:24You can go back and listen. I think Sherry Moon Zombies best
- 8:27acting is in the first Halloween remake.
- 8:30That's that's what I think too. She she killed it in that one.
- 8:33Yeah. I was gonna say, though, I've
- 8:37not seen that movie, but it's one that I really, really do
- 8:41want to watch. I love the idea of a Rob Zombie
- 8:45genre. I wanna see him tackle that type
- 8:47of genre. Yeah, Okay.
- 8:50And then the final one is Hellbenders, which is about a
- 8:56bunch of, I think priests or something like that.
- 9:00I don't know their whole. So not to be confused with
- 9:03Hellbender. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:05This is different. They're like, they're like
- 9:07debaucherous. They're like.
- 9:10Same. Yeah, they they their whole
- 9:13point is like, they're trying to drag other demons down to hell.
- 9:17OK, so they're doing good, but they're kind of like blasphemous
- 9:21in the process. So I imagine you know, if you're
- 9:24going to hell, it's kind of part of the thing.
- 9:26But they're good guys. They're like actually part of
- 9:29the church. So I don't know, it's it's a
- 9:31horror comedy. OK, Yeah, and it had a pretty
- 9:33surprising cast. So I don't know, it could be
- 9:35interesting, but that released September 9th, 2012.
- 9:40I don't have the budget, but it did gross $64,000 and it has a
- 9:444.9 on IMDb. OK, all right.
- 9:47And I have one tagline for bloody bloody Bible camp.
- 9:51And that tagline reads as heaven is for everyone except you.
- 9:56OK, which? Is why Jesus says to us in this
- 9:59movie, yeah, specifically us. Specifically, yeah, us the
- 10:03viewer which was like also kind of the final line if you don't
- 10:09count the mid credits stuff. Yeah, that count as the final
- 10:12line. Yeah.
- 10:13And I think it's kind of a good closing remark for them to make
- 10:20the point that I think they were trying to make throughout most
- 10:22of the movie, but maybe missed the mark a little bit.
- 10:25What point is that? That a lot of religious
- 10:30institutions tend to be kind of hypocritical with what they
- 10:32think is good or bad, and saying that Jesus is supposed to love
- 10:37everyone, but then they've got like a whole list of asterisks
- 10:41to it. But the people that are involved
- 10:44in the church are fine and great, even though they're
- 10:46actually doing really awful things too.
- 10:48Yeah, so. And I think generally that's
- 10:51what they're doing throughout this.
- 10:52But there's a couple of moments that miss the mark for me a
- 10:56little bit. Yeah, I think so.
- 10:57Yeah. But no, I think you're on the
- 10:58right track with that for sure. OK, so let's get into our
- 11:03discussion of it then. The good, bad, ugly, and absurd.
- 11:06So what did you think is good about this movie?
- 11:09I loved the whole cold open. Yeah, I wanted the whole movie
- 11:13to be like that. I did too.
- 11:15I thought it had some really, like, funny moments, definitely
- 11:18over the top gratuitousness with it.
- 11:22But I think that was kind of the point.
- 11:24Yeah. And I don't know, it was just
- 11:27all very, like, pointed in what was happening.
- 11:30I think, like I said, the general point that it seems like
- 11:33they're trying to make, I appreciate, especially like, I
- 11:38feel like that's very blatant with like Jennifer's character
- 11:40too. Yeah, yeah, She's yeah there to
- 11:43call out the hypocrisy. Yeah.
- 11:45Pretty much so. I I really liked all of those
- 11:48aspects of it. OK, yeah, I thought that was
- 11:51kind of cool, too. The only other good thing that I
- 11:54had to offer is, like the killer, like Sister Mary
- 12:00Chopper. Like, she had like a She had
- 12:02good potential to be a really cool killer.
- 12:05Yeah. I got like the design and
- 12:08everything. I like the the cross knife that
- 12:11she has. Yeah.
- 12:14I mean other than that, like I I like the opening a lot too.
- 12:18Like, I feel like they kind of blew their budget in the 1st 5
- 12:23to 10 minutes of this movie. Yeah.
- 12:25Possibly It could have been. What happened, I don't know.
- 12:28But yeah, it started off real great and it had a lot of
- 12:31potential to it. So now let's talk about some of
- 12:34the bad. OK, so the bad and this this
- 12:36happened so much. OK, so we talk about this.
- 12:41If you're a fan of horror movies, representation is
- 12:46important in all areas, right? Like you want to see characters
- 12:49represented as the protagonist and as the killer, Like you want
- 12:52to have that equal representation.
- 12:54And we still have a long ways to go with trans characters.
- 12:57A lot of therefore, representation tends to be as
- 13:00the killers, which is problematic even when you give
- 13:03it like a good, like reasoning behind it, like, oh, they're
- 13:09justified because of evil and blah blah blah blah blah.
- 13:12And like, I'm not saying that that can't have a positive
- 13:15impact. There's so many people online
- 13:17that talk about like Angela as a character in Sleepaway camp,
- 13:20being so positive for them as a trans person.
- 13:23We saw somebody like actually talk to the sleepaway cast and
- 13:27say that, that. Scare fest?
- 13:29Yes, but it just I it. And again I get what this movie
- 13:37was trying to do. Like they were trying to say
- 13:39like, oh, you're a bad person, you're going to hell.
- 13:41You're gonna be a preacher. But you can't be a preacher
- 13:43because you also say that you're a woman, but you were born, you
- 13:46were assigned male at birth and you know it it it's crossing a
- 13:50line with 0 finesse with it. You know what I mean?
- 13:54It's weird. Like, 'cause that one, right?
- 13:56There was also one that I think was done against the person's
- 14:00will, from this the looks of it. It's it's so confusing like I'm
- 14:05so confused. It's kind of a it seemed to me
- 14:08like they were trying to do a sweep away camp type thing.
- 14:10Here. Yeah, it kind of seemed like
- 14:12that. Or like that one.
- 14:13The really bad Christmas movie we covered around.
- 14:17On two in December, all through the House.
- 14:19Yeah, yeah, like. And again, I get what film
- 14:23makers are trying to do with that.
- 14:25But I also feel like when you do it, you need to do it with a
- 14:28little bit of finesse and really think about the message that
- 14:30you're sending across instead of just like the killer's a killer
- 14:33cuz they're trans. You need to have, you need to
- 14:37show a little bit more of that. And I get that This movie is
- 14:39showing, like, hypocrisy and everything all throughout.
- 14:41And it specifically addresses, like homophobia in the church
- 14:45and racism and, yeah, pedophilia.
- 14:48Like, it tackles all of that and it does it with like a little
- 14:51wink and a nod. And I feel like it's not done
- 14:53the same with Sister Mary Chopper.
- 14:55No, I don't. And it's so like even within its
- 14:58own universe, it's kind of othering.
- 14:59Yeah. So it just, again, like, you
- 15:06know, we've joked around with Talia, like it's good for her to
- 15:08see like dogs be the bad guys sometimes because, you know,
- 15:12it's, it's fun for her. You know, as a woman, I like
- 15:14seeing woman killers. And you know, we talk about that
- 15:17with like people of color. They need to have like a variety
- 15:21of roles. We need that for trans
- 15:22characters as well. They need to just be treated as
- 15:25fucking people, 'cause they are, they're fucking people like it
- 15:31just, I feel like we haven't covered a single horror movie on
- 15:35this show yet where the trans character has not been the
- 15:37killer. Whatever their motivation is
- 15:40given, yeah. I think you're right.
- 15:41In in universe so that is and that's not necessarily a this
- 15:46movie problem, it's an overall problem.
- 15:50Yeah, yeah. And yeah, it's also like a thing
- 15:54of, like, reflective of when certain movies are made.
- 15:57Because like we got to also remind ourselves, this movie's
- 15:59over a decade old at this point. Yeah, and.
- 16:02I'm not saying that that like makes anything right or wrong,
- 16:05I'm just trying to like put context into.
- 16:07Certain things. Also.
- 16:09Yeah, and we are looking at things through a more modern
- 16:11lens, 'cause, you know, we can't just watch all of the latest
- 16:14releases and cover them. We want to cover a variety of
- 16:16different things. Other than that, I think that
- 16:19this movie has some pacing problems.
- 16:21Like I said, I would have loved it if the whole movie was like
- 16:24the 1st 10 minutes, but it really like it's bad news when I
- 16:29because this is the first thing we watch today and I'm like
- 16:32pulling out my phone here and there checking stuff on IMDb,
- 16:35like oh maybe I'm going to check Twitter real quick, like it
- 16:39should be holding my attention better than that.
- 16:42That was one of my things too, like if you got more, go ahead.
- 16:46No, I'm just, I was just going to say not every movie has to be
- 16:49an hour and a half. Like, it definitely feels like
- 16:51they're padding the runtime. You know what?
- 16:53I don't with a movie like this. I don't even necessarily like
- 16:56expect a great plot most of the time, but don't just add shit in
- 16:59to make the runtime longer. See, I didn't even feel like
- 17:01they were adding shit in to make the runtime longer.
- 17:04I just think that they didn't write shit until, like, they
- 17:07wrote shit to go down in the very beginning of the movie, and
- 17:10then they wrote for shit to go down at the very end.
- 17:13And then the middle is a bunch of nothing.
- 17:16It's a bunch of, like, scenes of, like, you know, the Bible
- 17:20camp going on. And like, I don't know, like,
- 17:22that could be entertaining if that's what we were trying to
- 17:26sign up for. But like, I signed up for bloody
- 17:29bloody Bible camp. I didn't sign up for what's it
- 17:32called again? Happy day, Bible Camp.
- 17:34You know what I mean? It's just like a lot of nothing
- 17:39happens for a long time. And then like, it would have
- 17:43been cool if we just get some kills scattered here and there.
- 17:46But like with the killer sister Mary Chopper, we just get scenes
- 17:50of her just and her lair. Yes.
- 17:54With like a worship, like a like an altar and then just praying
- 17:58and like talking to a baby doll and like, I don't know, like, I
- 18:01don't understand the point of doing that.
- 18:05Why not have this person that had all this potential out there
- 18:09just doing shit throughout the movie?
- 18:11You know, like, I mean, that's just.
- 18:13Why not make Millie more important?
- 18:15She's the return character. Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 18:18Like. Yeah, she's like this movie,
- 18:22just like, I don't know. I think, I don't know.
- 18:26I don't know if they had an idea what they were doing until they
- 18:29got, they got names attached to this thing too, is what is
- 18:33blowing my mind. They got Tim Sullivan.
- 18:35He's got like established credits, like he's done some
- 18:38stuff. They've got Reggie.
- 18:40He's part of Phantasm that is like one of the longest running.
- 18:44And he is one of the most consistent characters throughout
- 18:46the entire series. Like, it just kind of surprises
- 18:49me that, like, it ends up being a bunch of nothing and it's kind
- 18:53of disappointing. Yeah, I guess like other things.
- 18:57Like, it just also kind of feels like scenes just kind of get
- 19:02stitched together. Yes.
- 19:04Like, it doesn't make sense. Like, it's a lot of like, and
- 19:07then this happens and then this happens and then that happens.
- 19:11Like none of it flows. And then like another thing for
- 19:15me is like, I just some of the jokes are fine.
- 19:18But I feel like the comedy in this movie did not land with me
- 19:21personally. I maybe some people like it, but
- 19:24it's a lot of like it's just a lot of like low hanging fruit
- 19:29jokes one after another. Just like, fucking fire them all
- 19:33with. That you need to be really over
- 19:35the top with it, or you need to like layer in some more subtle
- 19:39stuff at the same time, Like it can't just be, it feels lazy in
- 19:44a way. I like Dick and fart jokes as
- 19:47much as the next person. I did like at the very
- 19:49beginning, the very first line to get Jesus probably had a big
- 19:52penis. I like that.
- 19:53They got a truckle out of me. Yeah, but like it.
- 19:56Just like, it's just a bunch of, like, Dick and like like sex
- 20:01jokes and like, it's just like some of, like, the worst, like.
- 20:05Like. There's not imaginative at all.
- 20:08Yeah, I mean, and again, you know, I say go over the top, but
- 20:15I feel like you need to do it. You can have dumb humor, but it
- 20:19has to be done smartly, You know, we talked about that with
- 20:22Dude Bro party masker 3 like this.
- 20:26I get the point that they're trying to make that the church
- 20:28people. So we've got Zeke who is a
- 20:32creep. He's a full on pedophile.
- 20:34He's watching their underage campers get undressed and he's
- 20:37like so cartoonishly evil. Like.
- 20:41He's not the only. One.
- 20:42And he's not the only one. We've got the priest.
- 20:44Yeah, We've got Father Cummings, who's like, implied to be having
- 20:49a very inappropriate relationship with Timmy.
- 20:53Who? It's that.
- 20:55And it's also, I mean, he's just like the stereotypical priest,
- 20:59you know? Like everybody knows that.
- 21:01Yeah, like what has unfortunately become a
- 21:04stereotype of taking advantage of young parishioners.
- 21:09Yeah. And then Millie and Jennifer
- 21:11develop a relationship, which, I mean, it's like a fucking
- 21:16counselor. Like, yeah, what's the age of
- 21:18these people? Like?
- 21:19Are they like adults? Like, what the fuck is this?
- 21:22I don't. I don't know.
- 21:23Yeah. So it just, it's like, and I get
- 21:25what they're trying to say, they're trying to say that these
- 21:27people, just because they're associated with the church
- 21:29doesn't mean they're they're good people.
- 21:31So how hypocritical of them to condemn these other people to
- 21:35hell. Yeah, like and I get that that's
- 21:37the point that they're making. But again, do it in a way that
- 21:42like is good storytelling. Like make a good movie.
- 21:47The first. That's why the 1st 10 movies, 10
- 21:50Minutes were so funny because it was kind of over the top.
- 21:52But you got the message and then we got straight to The Killing.
- 21:55Yeah, like that Works great as a 10 minute short.
- 21:57Film. It didn't work and it just moved
- 22:00along. Yeah, you got what was
- 22:01happening. And it felt like they were
- 22:02trying to do the same stuff with the rest of the movie, except
- 22:05they had to make it, you know, five times longer.
- 22:08Yeah. So yeah, so it just it was
- 22:11struggling a little bit with that.
- 22:13OK, ugly stuff. I guess I'm just, you know, a
- 22:16lot. Yeah.
- 22:17Like basically, and I mean, we've both grew up in the South
- 22:21and we've both been, you know, we've both experienced stuff
- 22:24with churches seeing that hypocrisy face to face.
- 22:28You know, I like, I'm not joking when I've, you know, tried to
- 22:33have these kinds of conversations that Jennifer
- 22:35tries to have during the Bible Bowl.
- 22:37You know, like, well, why is this OK?
- 22:40But this isn't OK, and you're just so well.
- 22:42It's just just 'cause. I think just 'cause just.
- 22:45'Cause we say. So just 'cause we say so, 'cause
- 22:47we decided that's how we're defending our our bigotry.
- 22:50You know, you do have people that are getting actively harmed
- 22:53by the church because of those kinds of beliefs, because of
- 22:55taking advantage of a position of power.
- 22:58You know, you see, like priests taking all of the the tithings
- 23:02that are meant to be for the church and using it to buy
- 23:04expensive cars. So yeah, just that kind of
- 23:09stuff. And I'm not like, I know there
- 23:11there are some people out there that religion does great things
- 23:14for you, and that's great. I was not getting that
- 23:18experience. I I think we're we're just
- 23:20talking about the bad seats, the corrupt people out there.
- 23:22Like there is a lot of good out there with it and people do and
- 23:26can benefit from it, but there's a lot of people that like to
- 23:29take advantage of people. That yes, take advantage of
- 23:32people, actively choose to harm people.
- 23:34And there's a reason that they're saying there's no hate
- 23:37like Christian love. Yes, exactly.
- 23:40There's a reason that that exists.
- 23:43So yeah. So yeah.
- 23:44All right, absurd. Did you have your ugly or were
- 23:47you just agreeing with? You want me to slip something in
- 23:50too? How about slipping drugs and the
- 23:53drinks? Yeah, a little casual date rape,
- 23:56yeah. Yeah, pretty much.
- 23:57I mean, they're like slipping Spanish fly and alcohol into
- 23:59punch to try and get girls that have sex with them.
- 24:02So yeah. Yeah.
- 24:04I mean, again, shitty characters like, you know, But that is like
- 24:07a thing, a bad thing that happened in the and.
- 24:09That's very, very ugly for sure. Exactly.
- 24:12OK, so absurd. I'm gonna go with all the fake
- 24:14hair involved, because we've got the Elvis preacher at the
- 24:17beginning. That's a very obvious fake
- 24:19beard, potentially fake chest hair.
- 24:22We were trying to decide, but we don't get a good enough shot to
- 24:24really determine it. Definitely saw some fake pubic
- 24:27hair on Bambi at the end when she's running out of the house.
- 24:29I thought that that was fake. Yeah.
- 24:31Which is weird to like even do that, but I don't know, maybe
- 24:34she just wanted to not have that show.
- 24:36Yeah. Or maybe she's like, you know,
- 24:38stays shaved by choice, so they just slap something there
- 24:42because it's meant to be in the 70s.
- 24:43Yeah. And then also we got to talk
- 24:46about Zeke's shake and go wig that why why?
- 24:50Why did he need that wig I? Feel like they were trying to do
- 24:54like a demon from Friday the 13th 5.
- 24:57It's didn't work. It wasn't good.
- 25:00They missed the Shag Park of Shake and Go.
- 25:02Yeah, he he's got some pretty like, I noticed that that was a
- 25:05bad wig and that's. At at one point, I swear to God,
- 25:08the wig was on backwards for one of the scenes.
- 25:10Could have been done intentionally too.
- 25:12You know what I mean? Yeah, I feel like that's also
- 25:14like a funny, like, visual gag type thing too.
- 25:17Like if you're like, yeah, we're making a low budget movie, Let's
- 25:19make it look like shit. Just like for fun, you know what
- 25:21I mean? Yeah, but that's my obstruct is
- 25:24all of the all of the fake hair choices.
- 25:28Mine are The captions are afraid to curse.
- 25:32My God, I forgot about that. They are they're.
- 25:34I don't know if that was done intentionally, like in line with
- 25:38the movie, whenever they hired A captioning company, be like
- 25:41don't put swear words on this. I don't know.
- 25:44It's so. Weird.
- 25:45I noticed at first. It's like maybe they just like
- 25:47missed a word, but like throughout the entire movie,
- 25:50anytime that there's a swear like the captions like just
- 25:54forget it like. What if it was actually like
- 25:56some really like devout Christian that also likes horror
- 25:59movies? And they were really hoping that
- 26:01they were going to get like a good, viable camp horror movie?
- 26:04And so they're like, I'm going to volunteer and I'm going to do
- 26:06captioning for it. And then they go, Oh no, Oh no,
- 26:09Oh no, Oh no. I did think, I thought did cross
- 26:13my mind like maybe like a Christian person, like he was
- 26:15like, hey, I'll take that one. That one's about God, like, Oh
- 26:19no, no. Yeah, not a good movie for that.
- 26:22Yeah. The other thing I have is
- 26:24repenting masturbation, which you know is whenever Timmy is,
- 26:29he gets what I guess is his first direction and then he like
- 26:33goes in there and is telling God he's sorry for it and then he
- 26:36like ends up accidentally masturbating.
- 26:39I don't fucking know. It's so weird.
- 26:41He's trying to get the boner to go away and to be fair, he does.
- 26:46Yeah, he he does. I I This movie leaves me
- 26:52speechless at times. That's one of the moments right
- 26:55there. Like, what the fuck am I
- 26:57watching here? OK, So what do you rate this?
- 27:03Dude, if it was just the 1st 10 minutes, it would be like a
- 27:06fucking 8. But the whole movie, it's like a
- 27:10four. Yeah, I was gonna give it a
- 27:11three. Yeah.
- 27:12It's just a 3 1/2 average. I was just actively like, when
- 27:16is this fucking thing gonna end? Like, yeah.
- 27:20I hope it doesn't like drive you guys away from hearing us talk
- 27:23about it because there's a lot to talk about.
- 27:24Yeah, there's definitely a lot to talk about.
- 27:26I just, I was honestly, sometimes when that movie has
- 27:30such a strong opening, it can hurt it.
- 27:32Yeah, for real and then. 'Cause I was so stoked for it
- 27:36after that, Talia had to go out right after the opening and I
- 27:39was like, yeah, I'm ready to watch the rest of this movie.
- 27:41It felt like a fucking trauma movie.
- 27:43In the beginning. You know what I mean?
- 27:44Like I felt like I. Was that was the kind of vibe
- 27:46that it gives where it's like over the top, but you know that
- 27:48it's like satire and everything? Yeah, exactly.
- 27:50Like I was having a great time with it.
- 27:51And then just nothing happens for a long time.
- 27:54So let's talk about some good shit.
- 27:56And then a lot of nothing. And there's some good shit here,
- 27:58OK? We want to take a brief minute

- 28:35Travis, why don't you talk about talk about your balls for a
- 28:38second, please. I feel uncomfortable.
- 28:39This is going to be for a lot of people.
- 28:41Look, I got to tell you guys about this because the good.
- 28:43The bad, the ugly and the absurd doesn't just apply to horror
- 28:45movies. It applies to our bodies.
- 28:48Applies to men's balls. Because men's balls are absurd
- 28:53and ugly too that many times. But they don't have to be.
- 28:56So yeah, I have had past experiences with some of the
- 29:00little razors that I've had before.
- 29:03They get hot, they burn, they Nikia, they actually do cut a
- 29:06little bit. I use this thing, did not have
- 29:09any issues with that at all. This is the cleanest fucking
- 29:11shave and. He said.
- 29:12That was the best shave of my life.
- 29:14It really was man. Like I like I've never had
- 29:17anything like this before, so I'm.
- 29:18Going to say from a me standpoint, I appreciated that
- 29:21there wasn't hair trimmings all over the bathroom.
- 29:23Yeah, I feel like they maybe didn't fly as all over the place
- 29:26as they normally. Do well, there is a thing that
- 29:28you can do with that. This thing is actually
- 29:29waterproof, so you can go into the shower.
- 29:32You can do it like that. I did not do that, but you can
- 29:34do that. OK.
- 29:35Well, now that I know you can do that, you know that that's going
- 29:37to be the expectation. Therefore, right.
- 29:39Yeah, I'll do that going forward.
- 29:41This is of course the Lama or 5.0 Ultra that we're talking
- 29:45about. So this thing, the 5th
- 29:46generation trimmer, it features 2 interchangeable Next Gen. skin
- 29:50safe blade heads. One for taking a little off the
- 29:52top, and then there's one that go for all smooth baby.
- 29:56Yeah, Yeah. Also has a dual LED spotlight.
- 29:59So when you're going down there to the dark nether regions, you
- 30:02can actually see what you're doing.
- 30:03Yeah, Travis is really, really jazzed by that.
- 30:06And I will say, as somebody who's used an app later in the
- 30:08past, it is helpful to be able to see the skin.
- 30:10That you're dealing with. It's one of those things that
- 30:11you never really thought about, but you're like, oh, that makes
- 30:13sense. I get it.
- 30:14Yeah, it's very. It's very nice.
- 30:17I legitimately love this thing. It comes in the compact case, so
- 30:20it's easy to keep it stored away underneath the sink.
- 30:22That's important for people like Jesse.
- 30:24It is. I don't like clutter, and our
- 30:27bathroom is also so fucking tiny.
- 30:29Yeah, and it's nice that this doesn't take up any additional
- 30:32space. You'll love this thing.
- 30:33Your boss will love this thing. It's going to be great.
- 30:36Go check out our code. manscape.com.
- 30:38Least fave 20. That thing was, yeah, least fave
- 30:4120. Yeah, if you want to get 20% off
- 30:42plus free shipping, use the code least fave20@manscape.com.
- 30:46That's 20% off and free shipping with the code least
- 30:49fave20@manscape.com. Show your balls some love and
- 30:53feel free, yeah? It's also got deodorant.
- 30:59Yeah. That's been nice.
- 31:05So we start off at the Happy Day Bible camp in 1977 and the very
- 31:09first lines as you said were do you think Jesus had a big penis?
- 31:13And they said, except none of the guy that he must, and
- 31:17therefore it's not a sin to. To have sex or to have a big
- 31:20penis like. To have sex because Jesus had a
- 31:23penis. Therefore it's OK to have sex
- 31:25with penis. Yeah, except none of the guys
- 31:27here look like Jesus. Yeah, it's like these two girls
- 31:31are outside. I guess they're trying to like,
- 31:33you know, you know, figure out if they can do it.
- 31:36I don't know, like they, that's one of the themes in this movie
- 31:38too. It's like trying to find
- 31:39loopholes in the Bible about like, if you can do certain
- 31:43things. Yeah, If you're looking for
- 31:45anything about how modern people look into that stuff, look up
- 31:52how people over at BYU have their relations.
- 31:56You want me to tell you the term?
- 31:58What is the term? I know what it is.
- 32:00I can't remember what the term is though.
- 32:01It's. Called Soaking.
- 32:02Yeah, yeah the you do PNV, but as long as you're not thrusting
- 32:06it's fine. Sometimes they get around that
- 32:08loophole by having like a friend bounce on the bed on.
- 32:11The bed so you're not having sex because you're not actively
- 32:15thrusting? You're not having a threesome.
- 32:17It's not a group party, it's. P just happens to be inside the
- 32:23V somehow, not by your doing. And now you asked your friend,
- 32:28but you know they didn't have to do it.
- 32:30But they're jumping up and down and all.
- 32:32Holy shit, what's happened? Yeah, that's that's how.
- 32:38That's how they roll over at BYU, yeah.
- 32:43Also inside we see a group of boys like.
- 32:48I love See. The nerds are like, yeah, so
- 32:51Star Wars. Yeah, it's like, so did you go
- 32:54see Star Wars? Like, yes.
- 32:55So Star Wars shit, it's not gonna it's it's gonna flop.
- 33:00It's not gonna do anything. I loved it.
- 33:02Like, that was just so fucking stupid.
- 33:04Really funny because Friday night we went out to eat and the
- 33:07restaurant was playing Attack of the Clones and I got real
- 33:10excited. I was like Reptil, Anakin and
- 33:12Travis was like what is happening?
- 33:13Because I thought people hate the prequels.
- 33:15And I was like, no, but look at those guys, it's great.
- 33:18And then, right, it's the scene with him and Padme, you know,
- 33:22the scene. And I'm like because Travis is
- 33:24facing away from these TV's. He's got Puss in Boots playing
- 33:28on his. No, I had Batman versus.
- 33:29Superman. Oh, you have Batman versus
- 33:30Superman. That's right.
- 33:31Puss in Boots is in the middle of us this.
- 33:32Mexican restaurant has every fucking genre.
- 33:35Everything. You want superhero.
- 33:36You want Puss in Boots? You want Star Wars?
- 33:39Oh, we got softball playing in the news, yeah.
- 33:41Yeah, but at one point our server walks up behind me as I'm
- 33:45going. He's telling her he hates sand.
- 33:49So yeah. Anyway, what I'm saying is these
- 33:52nerds make me laugh. Really.
- 33:54On. Yeah, the the priests of this
- 33:57group here. I think it's the priest.
- 33:59I don't know. But yeah, he's dressed as Elvis.
- 34:01Yeah, he said that he had tickets to see him.
- 34:03He's mourning him. Yeah, he just died.
- 34:06And then the woman sitting next and was like, did you hear about
- 34:08that woman that got ordained? She's real excited about it.
- 34:11And she's like, I didn't really like Elvis anyway, he's drug
- 34:13abusing. That's probably why he died.
- 34:16And he's like kids these days. I have no respect.
- 34:18Storms off. So the nerds have are talking
- 34:22about how they want to have sex with Betty and Bambi.
- 34:25And the Jock boys are like, whatever, they're not going to
- 34:28have sex with you. And they're like, yeah, well, we
- 34:29got Spanish fly, so they drop pills into some punch and pour
- 34:34some what has to be really warm vodka because it was up against
- 34:38Chaz's junk. They pour that into the punch
- 34:43and take the girl. Get the girls drunk real fast
- 34:45and take them to the woods. It's gross.
- 34:48Everyone else is watching and they're like, that's really
- 34:50sinful, but nobody does anything to help, which I think is also a
- 34:53really great commentary on. Yeah, yeah, like they're like
- 34:57comment about it. Like this is fucked up.
- 34:59And then they just kind of like stand there and just watch it
- 35:00out and they're like, OK, whatever.
- 35:03I my next note here is tame and Paula gets stepped through the
- 35:07eye. This guy looks like he's like
- 35:10over there rolling a joint. He's about to smoke a weed.
- 35:12A weed. And he gets a drug.
- 35:15He gets. A stabbed in the eye and this is
- 35:17when we started getting the opening credits.
- 35:18So we like this like onslaught of kills starting off.
- 35:21Yeah, the chubby older guy didn't get his name.
- 35:25The Elvis Priest, So. I feel like he should have been
- 35:30the one to die on the toilet and not Chaz.
- 35:33Right. And I made a note about that.
- 35:34It was like Chaz died on the toilet.
- 35:37Yeah, it should have been Elvis. I feel like that would have been
- 35:40better. But we had to get the poop jokes
- 35:42in. Yeah, we got, we could have had
- 35:44the Elvis poop jokes. Everybody joked about that man,
- 35:46He died on the toilet. Everybody's like he pooped to
- 35:49death. I honestly that is like there
- 35:53are a lot of ways I don't want to die, but location wise I
- 35:57don't want to die on the toilet. That's so embarrassing.
- 36:00I've told you before that I like to make sure that my bra and
- 36:02underwear match because like I don't want to be murdered And
- 36:05then the autopsis be like wow, her underwear doesn't match.
- 36:09Like just. Like snicker.
- 36:10Yeah, like. And that's also why I try not to
- 36:12let my nails be chipped, because I'm like, God, what if I'm?
- 36:15What if I have to be like that as a ghost?
- 36:17You'd. Be the laughing stock at the
- 36:18world, Jesse, Right. I mean, don't.
- 36:20Want that? I mean, all evidence points to
- 36:23yes, because Elvis, It doesn't have anything to do with the
- 36:26fact that he was one of the most famous people on the planet.
- 36:28But you know, he's probably famous because he died on the
- 36:31toilet. Right.
- 36:33I'm just saying it would be really embarrassing to die on
- 36:35the toilet, I. I don't disagree.
- 36:38And there's no way that the EMT is taking my body out of the
- 36:41toilet area. Wouldn't be like, oh man, this
- 36:43lady died on the toilet. She couldn't even flush her
- 36:45butt, Flush her butt. Is that what people try to do?
- 36:51Yes, that's probably why I died, because I was trying to flush my
- 36:54butt. OK, so the two guys are out
- 36:57there in the woods. They get the girls ready to go.
- 37:00One of them is like, OK, like I gotta go back to the cab and.
- 37:06I'm being bitten by bugs. Yes, hard relate.
- 37:08We gotta go to the cabin. In a jumpsuit, like, there's no
- 37:11way to even kind of do like a quickie where you can be sort of
- 37:13covered in that you have to get completely naked.
- 37:17Yeah, I mean, that kind of works well for sex, so.
- 37:20I mean otherwise, like if you wanted to do a quickie in the
- 37:23woods, you could just do like a little pull the pants down kind
- 37:25of thing. Like our next girl here.
- 37:27Who? Yeah, exactly.
- 37:28Stumbles upon his stump and then pulls.
- 37:30She says. She just kind of bends over and
- 37:31she's like, all right, I'm ready.
- 37:32Do it. Back door's always.
- 37:34Open, yeah, she says. It's not a sin.
- 37:36No back door's always open for Jesus.
- 37:38Is what she says. Yeah, yeah, but he's oh, hold
- 37:42on. He's about to go do it, but then
- 37:43he ends up sinning in his pants. So he has to go back because he
- 37:48needs to, like, get something to help him get ready to go again.
- 37:51So he leaves her. So the couple that has gone back
- 37:55to the cabin, Chaz and Bambi, we've got a guy outside of the
- 38:02cabin. He's playing a song talking
- 38:03about kicking the devil in the nut sack.
- 38:06I got, I've got the lyrics here. He's playing guitar and the
- 38:09lyrics are if the devil don't like that, he better not come
- 38:13back. If the devil don't like that, he
- 38:15better lick my nut sack. Well, the point is, the lyric
- 38:20prompted me to describe him as Nutsack Efron.
- 38:24God, he does kind of look like Zac.
- 38:26Efron in his High School Musical days, Yeah.
- 38:28Definitely, yeah. So he's.
- 38:30Peeping in on the sex, Yeah, and the nun is like, well, that's
- 38:34naughty. Yeah, so she naughty chess.
- 38:38He's finished having sex and he's like, all right, I gotta go
- 38:41take a dump. So he gets out of bed and goes
- 38:44to go take a shit and he gets killed on the toilet.
- 38:47Yeah, and he's definitely not flushing his butt because
- 38:50there's no toilet paper. No, yeah.
- 38:53He's like the What is that? The game, The poop head game.
- 38:57The poop head murders Poopy. Poopy murders The poop Poop
- 39:02time. You're.
- 39:02Gonna get it if you keep saying poop and something else.
- 39:05Midnight, midnight, poopy man. That's the that's the dog
- 39:08monster. But.
- 39:09Yeah, I don't know what it is, I think.
- 39:11What is it? There's like 7 of them.
- 39:13Poop, man. I don't fucking know.
- 39:14Yeah, there's a lot of them. It's it's a weird game all
- 39:18right, So Bambi decides to get out of bed to go look for Chaz
- 39:22and she finds his body and then is chased by the nun who chases
- 39:26her downstairs and then throws the cross at her and kills her.
- 39:30Then we get the opening credits. And then we cut to 1984 and a
- 39:35van is rolling and they are singing about Jesus rolling down
- 39:39the strip with Jesus. Yeah, they arrive at a store and
- 39:43they go in. They go do some shopping before
- 39:45they arrive at camp. OK, they're just cracked me out
- 39:48because they're on a budget. They can't recreate 1984 like we
- 39:54saw some of this at the 70s, like the girl in the jumpsuit.
- 39:57Those have come back, so they were able to buy a jumpsuit for
- 40:01her to wear for a wardrobe right in this convenience store.
- 40:06It's all modern food logos and they've tried to like, turn them
- 40:10around both so that way they don't have, you know, issues
- 40:13with the company being like we don't want to be featured in
- 40:16your movie, but also because it's not historically accurate
- 40:20and the funniest fucking one to me is the four locos in the
- 40:23freezer. Oh yeah, I forgot the
- 40:25information. That unfortunately instantly
- 40:28recognized the watermelon for the locos.
- 40:30You said that. You see, you said that.
- 40:32And I was like, well, yeah, this came out in 2012.
- 40:35I get it like that. We were drinking that shit in
- 40:36college. And then I thought about just so
- 40:39I was like, oh, it's supposed to be in the 80s.
- 40:41Yeah. That shouldn't be there.
- 40:44Yeah, that is funny though, yeah.
- 40:46So clearly they like had friends that were to the convenience
- 40:49store in the country because there are convenience stores in
- 40:51the country that are like all rustic looking like this.
- 40:54Yeah. And they just turned products.
- 40:59When they're all entering the store, though, Millie enters the
- 41:02store and sees Dwayne, which he was one of the guys from the
- 41:05camp that day, and she backs out immediately because she doesn't
- 41:08want to see him. Yes.
- 41:11And while they're there, the Father Cummings tells J behind
- 41:17the counter that they're going down to Happy Day.
- 41:19Bible camp, he goes. You mean bloody bloody Bible
- 41:21camp? Why the second bloody?
- 41:24I don't know. I feel like it was like making
- 41:25fun of Can't Blood. Yeah, they talk about Sister
- 41:32Mary Chopper is the one that killed them back in 77 over.
- 41:37There stabbed Dwayne and left him for dead.
- 41:40And there was some other chick too, but we nobody really knows
- 41:42what happened to her. And it was pretty obvious that
- 41:44Millie was hurt when I first saw her in the van.
- 41:47And that just gets confirmed. And Dwayne doesn't talk anymore.
- 41:50He hasn't spoken since that day. So he just kind of sits here,
- 41:52scarred up, staring off in the distance.
- 41:54Also there is Tim Sullivan there, who is dressed like
- 41:58Gothy. And Jennifer kind of takes a
- 42:00walk into him and starts to Fort with him a little bit.
- 42:04Then, you know, I mean, that's just pretty much it.
- 42:06He's just kind of like tells her he better or she better keep the
- 42:10cross with her because she's going to need it.
- 42:13I didn't. I didn't get any advice that
- 42:15this is going to be our killer. Yeah, it's not like a really
- 42:19great set up. And again, I'm gonna have to
- 42:21make the connection to Friday the 13th because that was one of
- 42:23my biggest gripes with the first one is that we've got nothing
- 42:26laying out anything leading to Pamela Voorhees as a possible
- 42:30suspect. She just comes up at the end
- 42:32like ta da. Yeah.
- 42:35OK, so they make it to the camp. And see, we see Britney and
- 42:40Jennifer in their cabin and they're kind of like bickering.
- 42:45Jennifer's got a tape that is written on it.
- 42:49It's called Satan's Hookers. That's her mixtape, apparently,
- 42:52which offends Britney. I think that's great.
- 42:55I would listen to her Satan's Hooker's mixtape.
- 42:57I was hoping I was on it. Yeah.
- 42:59I wanted to hear more songs on it.
- 43:01Probably not for budget reasons, but get Reggie over there.
- 43:03Reggie he, he makes music. He can, you know, Reggie, a
- 43:06Satan song real quick. Tad is mean to Timmy and because
- 43:11he's like making fun of him saying he's got a boner and then
- 43:13he flicks him in the penis and it really does give him a boner
- 43:16because Timmy doesn't ever touch himself down there.
- 43:19So all touching is tingly to him.
- 43:22And then when he's done, he goes Ted and it's very much like
- 43:26American Dad. It's funny because like he
- 43:29flicks him in the penis and then Timmy runs off to go take care
- 43:32of it and Vance is there laughing and.
- 43:35Their Ted pushes him back. Vance has him.
- 43:37Like, he's got that laugh that our friend Andrew had.
- 43:41Yeah, like, I feel like he was. He just got over it.
- 43:43He just takes his hand and puts on his face and pushes him off
- 43:46the bed and he's like Ted. That's where the humor actually
- 43:50did land for me, because that was really funny.
- 43:51I like that. So yeah, he's in there and he's
- 43:55taking care of himself while apologizing to God, and he
- 43:58doesn't know that. That's what happens whenever you
- 44:01do that to yourself. That's the holy water that
- 44:04Father Cummings is talking about, which I'm sorry, you're
- 44:08Catholic. You should probably know what
- 44:11holy water is at this point. Yeah, I I don't know.
- 44:17So Millie and brother Zeke are talking with Father Cummings
- 44:19about the camp. It's being really cheap and
- 44:22she's like, but it takes a whole day to drive here, kind of
- 44:24basically trying to steer them away from buying this camp.
- 44:30And she's like, you know, we could probably afford something
- 44:32closer to town if you guys didn't have like, super
- 44:34expensive cars, didn't like being called out like that.
- 44:39He's like, I don't have a Jaguar, I've got a Cadillac,
- 44:43which is also super fucking expensive, yeah.
- 44:46So they're all around the campfire and just little bits of
- 44:51them talking to each other. And then as a group, they start
- 44:53talking about Sister Mary Chopper.
- 44:55You know, the story that was told by the locals and.
- 44:58Father Cummings is like, well, some people just kind of tell
- 45:01these stories around here because they don't like
- 45:03outsiders so much, so they're trying to drive people like us
- 45:05away. So nothing really to worry
- 45:07about. By the way, y'all, I wrote this
- 45:09sweet new tune right here that I'm going to play for everybody.
- 45:11About how women need to just stay the fuck in the kitchen
- 45:14about, right? Yep.
- 45:15And how the men are just going to be awesome and just doing
- 45:17their shit and the women are going to make us breakfast and
- 45:20lunch and dinner and serve your man.
- 45:23Yeah, Everybody's like, yeah, fuck yeah, Jesus.
- 45:25This is a a good encapsulation of the trad wife bullshit that's
- 45:30on Tiktok right now. If you haven't seen any of that,
- 45:33I'm happy for you trad wife. Trad.
- 45:36Wife, Yeah, Oh. Traditional, Yeah.
- 45:38I see. OK, so it's like all these women
- 45:40that just wanna live on like 50 acres and have chickens and cows
- 45:44and not get vaccines and make cereal from scratch, but a lot
- 45:49of it. The irony is that like instead
- 45:51of doing like, you know, TikTok like here's my only fan shit,
- 45:56this is basically them doing like Trap wife porn like.
- 46:00Oh, for men. Yeah, I've.
- 46:01No, I've read about, like, men, like watching that and then
- 46:06getting on to their wives, being like, why aren't you like this?
- 46:08And like, I don't know. It's just like we're just trying
- 46:11to appeal to, like, the insecure parts of their brain or
- 46:15something. Like I don't.
- 46:16It's also like it's really insidious because this is how
- 46:18like shit like the anti birth control movement is getting
- 46:23worse and worse. Like this is how it's starting
- 46:25to poison young women because they're like Oh yeah, I don't
- 46:28want toxins in my body and it is messing up my cycle which is not
- 46:32how that science works. First of all, don't have time to
- 46:36go into all of that, but it's just fundamentally wrong.
- 46:38But basically what it's doing is it's a form of brainwashing and
- 46:41trying to convince like in a way kind of like radicalize the
- 46:45youth and like get them to, you know, vote for these measures
- 46:49that will like, you know, outlaw access to birth control.
- 46:54It it, you know, it starts with things like Roe V Wade and soon,
- 46:58you know, like a hello, Gilead. I don't think it's bad though,
- 47:02for people to want that, like stay at home.
- 47:05Like, that's so like, if that's what people like, that's cool.
- 47:08Absolutely great. I love that people can have that
- 47:11option. But saying that everybody needs
- 47:14to live that way is. Like that's a whole other thing,
- 47:16yeah. Yeah, like it should be about a
- 47:19choice. It shouldn't just be like, well,
- 47:20you're a woman, so you need to be staying at home.
- 47:22Yeah, like that's messed up. Yeah.
- 47:25Also really unrealistic in today's economic structure.
- 47:28But it is, yeah. All right, let's, let's.
- 47:30Course correct. Let's get back to Bible camp
- 47:31here. OK, so it is.
- 47:35Britney is taking her shirt off in front of a very open window
- 47:38where she can definitely see Zeke staring at her and she's
- 47:41like, Jennifer, Jennifer, do you get my boobs?
- 47:43Are my boobs great? I kind of love that confidence
- 47:47in her. Just feel like my boobs are
- 47:48great, right? And he feels like, yeah, they
- 47:50are great, yeah. And Cummings catches him and
- 47:55he's like, that's pretty fucked up.
- 47:56But hey, you're not looking at the boys at least, so that's
- 47:59also. Yeah.
- 48:01I yeah. And then he's like, give me your
- 48:03weed. Yeah, he's got a joint.
- 48:05And he's like, yeah, give me that joint.
- 48:06Oh, he also, like, confiscated his beer earlier that he bought
- 48:10at the store. Millie's having a nightmare of
- 48:13Dwayne climbing on top of her and she wakes up and that's
- 48:17that. Yep.
- 48:18So next day, Yeah, they're doing the Bible Bowl today.
- 48:21An. Announcement over the Camp
- 48:22Intercom Which first of all, where is this camp intercom?
- 48:24Why are they making the announcement?
- 48:26There's like 2 cabins. They just.
- 48:28Wanted to be official. I I get it.
- 48:30If I had the tools, I'd use them, you know what I mean?
- 48:33So, all right, so the Bible Bowl is basically just like a trivia
- 48:37game that they all play together.
- 48:39It's how they're deciding who's the best Christianist.
- 48:41Yeah, and really, I'm sorry. This is, it makes me think of
- 48:49all the reality TV shows I watch where they'll do like a trivia
- 48:52mini challenge type thing and like as soon as one team wins,
- 48:55it's like an early, like, like an early.
- 49:00What is the word I'm trying to think of?
- 49:01I don't remember. But they try and like convince
- 49:04the audience that means that they're definitely going to run
- 49:05away. And that's why they do, because
- 49:07Timmy gets the first question. They're like, all right guys,
- 49:09Timmy is really running away with this.
- 49:11He's got one point. I I yeah, he's like, all right,
- 49:15well, we need to give it to somebody else over here because
- 49:17Timmy's really launched himself ahead of everybody over here.
- 49:20And it's just like one point. Also, Tad's got like a huge
- 49:23exclamation mark next to his name on the board.
- 49:25Tad. Yeah.
- 49:28That, yeah, there's a lot of homophobia.
- 49:31I got the question here. I don't want to go through the
- 49:34questions and answers because they make me uncomfortable.
- 49:36It's just like, what's the 8th commandment that shot?
- 49:39Not still, my first son of Adam and Eve is Cain.
- 49:44What happens if you don't ask for forgiveness, forgiveness
- 49:46before you die? You go to hell, which
- 49:48apparently, you know, Jennifer's like, Does that mean that Hitler
- 49:52gets to go to heaven if he asks for forgiveness for all the
- 49:56things that he did? And he's like, I mean, yeah,
- 49:57probably Hitler's in heaven now and.
- 50:00Then they start getting into like the more uncomfortable ones
- 50:04that people use as justification for a lot of icky things.
- 50:08Like, again, like, oh who killed Jesus?
- 50:13That's. He's like, let's give this one
- 50:15to somebody else that can really stump them and they give it to
- 50:19Britney. And she.
- 50:21Yeah, she pants him. I was it.
- 50:22And then finally sits it out. I don't want to repeat what I
- 50:24don't want to repeat the way she says it.
- 50:27And they say something about abortions.
- 50:29And they're like, sorry, Jennifer.
- 50:30And she goes, OK, well, what if you're raped by your grandfather
- 50:33and you're 12 years old? What if God's a woman?
- 50:36And that happened. And they're like, well, God's
- 50:38not a woman, so. Well, first of all, through God
- 50:42all things are possible, so. Jot that down, Yeah.
- 50:45So it it quickly devolves from like Bible trivia to like, hey,
- 50:50these are are like talking points that we're gonna use to
- 50:53be discriminatory to people, cuz we feel like it, yeah.
- 50:57So in the end, Timmy wins the ball.
- 50:59He's the best Christian of them all, Yeah.
- 51:01Then we get this nice little group swimming montage.
- 51:04They all go down by the lake. I like this part because it's
- 51:06just a bunch of them having fun together.
- 51:07Really does look like the cast is just having fun by the lake
- 51:10because it's it's a montage so we don't really hear people
- 51:13talking. You hear Timmy and Tad talking
- 51:17and they're having the most fun together.
- 51:18I did. That's the pairing that I didn't
- 51:20expect. Yeah, we were watching that and
- 51:22I was like, I I kind of got the impression that they were like
- 51:25the actors themselves were actually maybe friends because
- 51:28of the way they were playing around with each other.
- 51:30It seemed that this also this scene right here made me realize
- 51:34that Tad's actor, he's like a fucking great physical actor
- 51:37because he's out there like making all these gestures and
- 51:39shit out in the like lake and like, damn, he's like, he's like
- 51:44fucking like the way his body's moving and like motion out
- 51:47there. I don't know.
- 51:47It's like it's kind of captivating to watch.
- 51:50There's also Millie is like it's very strongly hinted that she's
- 51:53like into Jennifer. Yeah, well then she's like
- 51:57feeding her over. There, yeah, massaging her and
- 52:01she's like, you're really pretty.
- 52:02Let's go on a nature walk together.
- 52:05Meanwhile, over the convenience store, Dwayne writes the word
- 52:07Gloria on a chalkboard. And their brother, his brothers
- 52:11are like, well, we warned them, you know, that's about all we
- 52:14can do in this situation. Where's Gloria supposed to be?
- 52:17That is Millie's real name. Oh.
- 52:19OK, right. So they go on their nature walk.
- 52:24Jennifer, you know, Jennifer and Millie kind of talk about
- 52:27Jennifer questioning her faith. TAD has some repressed
- 52:31homosexuality. Yeah, he's like doing shit.
- 52:33He's like you are not a homosexual.
- 52:36You have straight thoughts. This is like stuff like that
- 52:39that. Kind of makes me sad for him,
- 52:42Like go be a fun little gay boy. Like have have life the way you
- 52:48want to have life, man. You're not hurting anybody but
- 52:50being gay. That's the best character in
- 52:52this thing, though. It's just so funny that and
- 52:55like, Britney walks up and he just like gets down and like, he
- 52:58hops down. He's like, Oh yeah, you're kind
- 52:59of cute and like, they kind of like have it back and forth.
- 53:01Horse face and she goes, but I've got pricky boobs.
- 53:05Yeah, he's like, all right, well, I'm going to go rub one
- 53:07out real quick, so I'll be back later.
- 53:09He just, like, walks off. She she finds Vance and she's
- 53:14like, all right, what are you doing, Vance?
- 53:15And he's like, oh, I'm reading the Bible, trying to find
- 53:18loopholes in the Bible. And she's like, what kind of
- 53:20loopholes? Like sodomy.
- 53:22Yeah. First off, sodomy is like, what?
- 53:25Yeah. Yeah.
- 53:26So I could explain the whole thing to her.
- 53:29See, it comes up and he's being like he's hitting on his
- 53:33counselor slash, you know, church parishioner, basically.
- 53:37And then she drops some casual racism because of her daddy.
- 53:41Her daddy. Says she's not.
- 53:42Allowed to be around black boys and that's God.
- 53:44She's got some achy lines that she has to say throughout.
- 53:47All she reminds me of the the girl from sleepaway camp.
- 53:49Three, yeah. Yeah.
- 53:52All right. I know that's who I was thinking
- 53:54of to the cheerleader. Yeah, exactly.
- 53:57Throughout this whole thing. Not just like this, but like,
- 54:00like throughout this movie yet up until this point, we've had
- 54:02shots of Sister Mary Chopper, just kind of like at her shrine,
- 54:06just like doing shit, speaking, just kind of being there.
- 54:09Like, I don't know, it was kind of pointless.
- 54:11It was pissing me off. I was like, just like have them
- 54:14out there running around doing shit, Which we now finally have
- 54:17because Sister Mary Chopper is out walking through the woods
- 54:20now. Yeah, so Zeke and Ted have a
- 54:22plan to, like, get some of the girls drunk.
- 54:27Get beer and condoms so you 'cause like, all right, I'm
- 54:29gonna go back to the convenience store to go get that.
- 54:31That way we can get the girls all loose and.
- 54:33Have some fun tads like I'm not gay, why do I need condoms
- 54:37'cause remember, like do. It in the what?
- 54:40Cause remember, for a long time that's how AIDS was treated, was
- 54:44just as a homosexual man's disease, which caused a lot more
- 54:48grief and strife than it should have.
- 54:50But. Yeah, so Zeke runs over to the
- 54:54van. He's going to go get in there
- 54:55and drive off. But as he arrives at the door,
- 54:59Sister Mary Chopper's there and chops his head off.
- 55:02Then we get a flashback of Sister Mary Chopper being told
- 55:04that they can never be a priest because the mom is going to make
- 55:07them a girl. Yeah, so Father Cunnings and
- 55:13Millie stop Zeke 'cause he's walking into his cabin or stop
- 55:18Tad as he's walking to his cabin to ask about Zeke.
- 55:20And he lies and says he went to the convenience store for
- 55:23matches and they're like, that's weird.
- 55:24We have so many matches. Yeah.
- 55:26Oh, and this is like after Tad told Brittany to meet him at the
- 55:29fire pit at midnight too, 'cause you know, they're gonna have sex
- 55:32and shit. So this Tad walks back to his
- 55:39cabin and he sees the van and when he looks into the van he
- 55:42sees Zeke's body and freaks out, runs and is killed up against a
- 55:47tree. Millie and Cummings talk some
- 55:51more. I didn't really write what they
- 55:52were talking about because all I could focus on was how badly she
- 55:55was miked every time it cut to her for like, I'm going to say
- 55:59solid 40 minutes of this movie. Her audio was noticeably worse
- 56:03than everybody. Hers was the worst.
- 56:04She like after like later on in the movie.
- 56:07I think she got the good one. I think that they gave her the
- 56:11bad. A bad mic somewhere.
- 56:12Yeah, like once they kill her off enough people like, OK, now
- 56:14we can give you the good mic back.
- 56:16But her and Father Cummings were talking and he's like, the word
- 56:19has blessed her bank account. We can actually afford to
- 56:22purchase this place now. And he's like, I don't sense any
- 56:25enthusiasm from emailing. She's like, oh, I'm sorry, I
- 56:28just, you know, you know, I don't really know what to say.
- 56:32And then like she goes to leave to go check on the others.
- 56:35Brittany is sneaking out of the cabin to go meet Tad by the fire
- 56:41pit, and Timmy decides he's gonna go look for a soda
- 56:45machine. He's very optimistic that he
- 56:46will find one. Cummings is smoking Zeke's joint
- 56:52and he is looking at a magazine that.
- 56:55Did you read the name of it? Communion.
- 56:58Communion, communion, CUMMUNIONI love it.
- 57:03And it's just like a bunch of just like gay priests, I think
- 57:06is what it is. That's pretty funny.
- 57:09I like. That yeah, that was a good joke.
- 57:11That was a good little, like, visual joke.
- 57:13And at least they were like all adults.
- 57:15Yeah, exactly. Yeah, Yeah.
- 57:17Here's a knock on the door. And he goes to answer it, and
- 57:20it's Sister Mary Chopper. Co figure and she stabs him
- 57:25thrice. Yeah.
- 57:26Millie goes to the office and she has two little, like,
- 57:31airplane bottles of liquor in her pocket.
- 57:33And so she goes to look for a cup because she realizes she's
- 57:35alone and can drink. And when she opens up the
- 57:38drawer, she sees a newspaper clipping of what happened and
- 57:42realizes that Father Cummings knew about what had happened at
- 57:45the camp and knew that she had been there.
- 57:47Yeah. Brittany gave up at the fire pit
- 57:50because Tad never showed up, so now she's back at her cabin in
- 57:53in bed. She lays down in the bed with a
- 57:56whole other human in it and doesn't notice.
- 57:59Yeah, and his sister Mary Chopper like straight up in
- 58:01their gear, like mask and none outfit on and everything and
- 58:06she's like oh hey Tad, because she thinks it's Tad for some
- 58:09reason. It's like, look, I I heard about
- 58:12this loophole, I think Jesus is actually OK if I do it in the
- 58:16butt because it's not technically sex.
- 58:18So Mr. or not Mr., Mary Chopper, Sister Mary Chopper.
- 58:25Yeah, you're combining sister. Mary takes the cross and starts
- 58:33shoving it up her butt and then chokes her with it and she dies.
- 58:40Quotation marks. So she doesn't really die.
- 58:42We see you later. Yeah, so Jennifer finds
- 58:46Britney's body and she runs into Millie, tells her.
- 58:50And she's like, we gotta go find a phone.
- 58:52So when they run, she runs into the office ahead of Millie and
- 58:55sees the newspaper article laying out and learns that
- 58:57Millie is Gloria. I thought for a minute here that
- 59:01Millie was gonna be the killer. I.
- 59:03Thought it was going, and I thought that would have been way
- 59:05more interesting. Yeah, I thought it would have
- 59:07been better because like we saw Millie.
- 59:09All of those shots of Sister Mary Chopper at the altar.
- 59:12You could even still have those, like, Millie's unaccounted for
- 59:15for some scenes. I don't know, like, you know,
- 59:17but like, I thought like, I mean at the beginning in the opening
- 59:21scene, she witnessed something and she's kind of stunned and
- 59:24she's in the room by herself. So like, that's the last that we
- 59:27see of her. I thought that maybe she snapped
- 59:30and just started killing everybody.
- 59:32No. Instead she reveals that she was
- 59:33a counselor there seven years ago and everybody like went off
- 59:37and she was having sex with Dwayne and Dwayne got attacked
- 59:40and she freaked out and ran off and never knew what happened
- 59:43until she saw him in the convenience store and Jennifer
- 59:45calls out. How fucked up that?
- 59:46Is, yeah. So she goes running.
- 59:50Dwayne is missing the next morning.
- 59:52His board is on his brother Skunk, and it just has the word
- 59:55revenge. Millie walks out of the office,
- 59:59sees Timmy and Sister Mary Chopper behind him.
- 1:00:04Doesn't stop to do it. Like this is the slowest moving
- 1:00:07thing ever. She's just like, oh, Timmy,
- 1:00:10yeah. She doesn't really care.
- 1:00:11Yeah, Timmy got. Head explodes.
- 1:00:14He's got the coolest stuff. He actually did a good job
- 1:00:16filming this. He, like Sister Mary Chopper,
- 1:00:18picks up a cinder block, just drops it on his head.
- 1:00:21It's pretty great. Then Millie gets axed and her,
- 1:00:27you know what? So she's dead.
- 1:00:30And then Jen Yeah, she's being chased.
- 1:00:34She runs. She finds Vance is kind of
- 1:00:37crucified in a doorway, and Sister Mary Chopper ends up
- 1:00:41pulling him down and killing him the rest of the way.
- 1:00:43She runs into like a confession booth.
- 1:00:45And she's like doing, you know, our Father, who art in heaven,
- 1:00:47hallowed be thy name, that Kingdom.
- 1:00:51Come. That will be done on earth as it
- 1:00:53is in heaven. And then that's all I know of
- 1:00:55it. Is that it?
- 1:00:56That's the Lord's Prayer, right? Is that the Lord's Prayer?
- 1:00:58I used to have to do this all the time before every baseball
- 1:01:02game because my baseball coach made us do this in our huddles
- 1:01:06before the. Games.
- 1:01:07It's OK. We prayed before dance
- 1:01:09performances and we all had to cross our like hold hands and
- 1:01:12cross. Our feet.
- 1:01:13And we were on a circle too. The only thing is, though, I
- 1:01:16didn't know it, so I I kind of winged it every single time.
- 1:01:19So I never really learned it. I like seeing it written out.
- 1:01:22I know that I said a lot of incorrect shit back then.
- 1:01:26So yeah, I don't know. I don't know the word to do it
- 1:01:28either. So Cummings is actually not
- 1:01:30dead, and Jesus appears to him in the form of Ron Jeremy.
- 1:01:34And that's a whole other problematic thing we can go
- 1:01:36into. But we won't today.
- 1:01:38Ron Jeremy isn't a good man. He's not a good man, but I'm
- 1:01:41going to say he's pretty great. It is kind of a funny casting
- 1:01:45choice. He does the best delivery of any
- 1:01:47actor in this movie. He is a good actor.
- 1:01:50So what's really great is he's like, he sees Father Cummings
- 1:01:53and he's like, it's really super cool that you're gay.
- 1:01:57You know that. Like, we're cool with that,
- 1:01:59right? Like, it's OK Like, go do your
- 1:02:02gay thing. We're fine with it.
- 1:02:04And father comes goes, But I also brought these kids here and
- 1:02:07now they're being murdered and he goes, well, we're not cool
- 1:02:09with that shit. Go save the day.
- 1:02:11Yeah. And he just walks off.
- 1:02:14So Dwayne and his brothers arrive and sister Mary Chopper
- 1:02:19is there and like kind of there's a little bit of a fight,
- 1:02:22but not much of a fight. She gets knocked over.
- 1:02:25It's revealed that that's Tim Sullivan from earlier at the
- 1:02:28convenience store and she kills the Big Brother JJ, who falls on
- 1:02:35top of Dwayne and I guess kind of just squishes him to death.
- 1:02:40I yeah, I guess so, yeah. Cummings appears and does some
- 1:02:46of the saddest punches I've ever seen.
- 1:02:48These are this is so poorly choreographed and I feel like
- 1:02:51it's intentional, but like, it's just like, it's so bad to watch,
- 1:02:56but like, he beats the shit off Sister Mary Chopper and I guess
- 1:03:01kills her. Yeah, I don't fucking know.
- 1:03:04And then Jesus. Stabs her doesn't.
- 1:03:06Yeah, He stabs her with the the cross.
- 1:03:08Yeah. And then Jesus appears again to
- 1:03:11Jennifer in Father Cummings and he says, come on, let's go,
- 1:03:17we're all good. Quit your complaint and we're
- 1:03:19all going to heaven cuz heaven's for everybody and he looks
- 1:03:22directly in camera, raises and eyebrows.
- 1:03:24Except for you. You know why I think that he was
- 1:03:27Cass? Why?
- 1:03:29Because of the opening line, do you think Jesus has or Jesus
- 1:03:31probably had a big penis? Oh my God.
- 1:03:34Yeah. Oh my God.
- 1:03:36What Delayed gratification for a joke?
- 1:03:39I know, right? Like I feel like it makes sense
- 1:03:40because of that, Like, oh, Jesus is Ron Jeremy.
- 1:03:44Oh my God, that's great. We do get like a brief mid
- 1:03:48credits scene where we find out that Britney is still alive and
- 1:03:50she is looking for Tad and saying that she did it up the
- 1:03:55butt. She's not a butt virgin anymore,
- 1:03:56but she kind of liked it. Yeah.
- 1:03:58Yep, that's up. That's up.
- 1:03:59So that's how the movie goes, honestly.
- 1:04:02I feel like if we cut out like 20 minutes of it.
- 1:04:07Even then it's still struggling, I mean.
- 1:04:09Sister Mary Chopper Millie. I feel like it'd be more
- 1:04:13interesting. You just got to, you got to go
- 1:04:16like spread it out, man. You got to get Sister Mary
- 1:04:19Chopper and they're killing some people throughout the camp.
- 1:04:21Like you can't. Just like you can't have like a
- 1:04:23lot of camp going on and like no killing going on in a horror
- 1:04:27movie and then have it be purely just the beginning and just the
- 1:04:30ending. You can highs and lows in a
- 1:04:32movie. You can do that, but you have to
- 1:04:34have like other suspense or like something else worth watching
- 1:04:38for the other half of it because like, it's just a lot of
- 1:04:42nothing. If you just want it to be a lot
- 1:04:44of slashing, that's cool. Pad your cast more.
- 1:04:47Yeah, you know what I mean? Like, we've watched movies like
- 1:04:50that generally. Not mad about it, but like, I
- 1:04:53just. I want it to be more
- 1:04:54interesting. Like I wanted to root for this
- 1:04:57movie. We have another.
- 1:04:58Opening and right there at the end, yeah, it's just everything
- 1:05:02that it was. No, we had enough people for
- 1:05:04them to do it. They had like, we've seen so
- 1:05:06many camp horror movies with this amount of people.
- 1:05:09You know what I mean? It kind of gave me vibes of what
- 1:05:11was the Was it bloody summer camp or?
- 1:05:16Which one are you talking about? The 10?
- 1:05:19The camp blood. Camp blood.
- 1:05:20Yeah, yeah, yeah. When Where?
- 1:05:22It's like the Friday 13th rip off, Yes, except actually really
- 1:05:25well done. Yes.
- 1:05:26And I remember like, I kind of got shades.
- 1:05:28Is that like, OK, it's a small, it's like it's a skeleton crew
- 1:05:31for a camp and maybe we can have a little bit of fun with that
- 1:05:33because they even show them like trying to do like mess hall
- 1:05:36duties and stuff like that. They even do get like, 'cause I
- 1:05:40really wanted those two girl roommates.
- 1:05:41I wanted them to hook up like, and we kind of get shades of
- 1:05:44that with Millie and Jennifer. And like there's.
- 1:05:47The million Jennifer thing is not good.
- 1:05:49It's not good because she's a counselor like.
- 1:05:51Like Millie and Britney? Sure.
- 1:05:53But it made me like it made me think of that.
- 1:05:55Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. So if you haven't watched this,
- 1:06:01what I would tell I mean, obviously watch it for yourself,
- 1:06:04draw your own conclusion. But my stronger recommendation
- 1:06:07would be watch the 1st 10 minutes and then go watch Camp
- 1:06:10Blood. Or just watch Camp Blood.
- 1:06:13I think. I don't even know if that's the
- 1:06:15right name. I think it might be.
- 1:06:17It's something like that. It's something that's very
- 1:06:19obvious, like I don't watch bloody.
- 1:06:21Murder. Bloody murder, that's.
- 1:06:23Because they. Play the game Bloody Murder.
- 1:06:25Yeah, that's what it's called. That's what it is, yeah.
- 1:06:27The second one is OK. It's not as good, but the first
- 1:06:30one's excellent. OK, I'm in a key 3 1/2.
- 1:06:35I'm. I'm knocking it down some.
- 1:06:36I'm just mad like talking about it like.
- 1:06:39Yeah, I'm keeping mine out of three also.
- 1:06:41So 3.25 What was Scout's favorite part, Travis?
- 1:06:48I think because Scout was high this movie whenever she.
- 1:06:51She was playing, she got into her catnip before we started
- 1:06:54watching and she was like fucking odd one, you guys, you
- 1:06:58don't even understand how she gets when she gets nippy like
- 1:07:00that. She was zonk.
- 1:07:01So I think it was whenever Father Cummings was reading the
- 1:07:04Communion and smoking the doobie.
- 1:07:08No, Travis. Obviously her favorite part is
- 1:07:12the lake montage, 'cause she wants to be a little Panther in
- 1:07:15the lake. That's true.
- 1:07:17And she gets a little wrastly, just like Timmy and Tad.
- 1:07:19Were Esther and Zoe. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:07:21Yeah. OK, I can get behind that.
- 1:07:24I think that's pretty true. I think both of them are true,
- 1:07:30all right. Who did you relate?
- 1:07:33To shit. I guess I related to Vance
- 1:07:38because like he's just there, like actually doing camp, which
- 1:07:41is like what I would probably be doing, you know what I mean?
- 1:07:43Like he he really is like just the character that's there.
- 1:07:48Like he's like not that interesting in this scenario.
- 1:07:51I don't think I fit in the mold of any of these other
- 1:07:53characters. I think I probably relate to
- 1:07:58Jennifer, 'cause I'm pretty sure the Fellowship of Christian
- 1:08:03Athletes and I made a mutual decision that I would not be
- 1:08:06returning to any of their meetings after they said
- 1:08:08something about gay students. And I was like, gay students are
- 1:08:11awesome and they're like, no, they're going to hell.
- 1:08:13And I was like, don't think I agree.
- 1:08:14And they're like, pretty sure we don't agree.
- 1:08:16And I just never went back to another meeting.
- 1:08:21Yeah, I think that's pretty much what would have happened when
- 1:08:23Jennifer too. Yeah, yeah, that's.
- 1:08:26And then it happened at some summer program I went to too.
- 1:08:31They tried to like they had like mini groups, mini club type
- 1:08:34things and a similar type of thing happened where they're
- 1:08:38like, what do you do when you encounter these challenges in
- 1:08:40life such as, you know, if a good friend were to come out to
- 1:08:43you and I was like, you would be supportive of that friend.
- 1:08:46And they're like, no, you preach to them.
- 1:08:48And I was like, but then that's not good.
- 1:08:50And they're like, but that's what the Bible says.
- 1:08:53And I was like, I don't agree. And then, yeah, so I've
- 1:08:57definitely, I've been Jennifer in that situation multiple
- 1:08:59times. I've been Jennifer in this
- 1:09:01situation too. I've had to have that same
- 1:09:02conversation before with many people.
- 1:09:06OK, so let's do a dream sequel. How can we like this is this
- 1:09:11seems like a movie that could actually, because like we do get
- 1:09:13the ending with Sister Mary Chopper waking up and being
- 1:09:16alive, so we can't continue it and you can make this good.
- 1:09:21I think the premise is there. It's good.
- 1:09:23I think that the killer is pretty good, like.
- 1:09:28I want to cut to the 90s. I want to see Jennifer and her
- 1:09:31grunge phase, and I want to see her trying to do, like, more
- 1:09:36like, I guess radical kind of church camp where they are like
- 1:09:39actually, like, hey, we accept LGBTQ campers.
- 1:09:44We accept campers of all races, all denominations.
- 1:09:48We also talk about other, like, I could see her becoming that
- 1:09:51kind of like a positive camper, OK.
- 1:09:53And then maybe Sister Mary Chopper comes back because she's
- 1:09:55still like, you know, hey, we're gonna do things super
- 1:09:59biblically. OK, yeah, I feel like a.
- 1:10:01Testament. You could still.
- 1:10:03I feel like that'd be like a good way for you to, like, get a
- 1:10:06cast of characters to still be able to tackle the same type of
- 1:10:09humor, but maybe like another opportunity to ride it better.
- 1:10:13Yeah. Because yeah.
- 1:10:15They really, they had good bones in some of the scenes there.
- 1:10:18I think they just needed a little bit of editing and maybe
- 1:10:20they needed an outside set of eyes and perspective, you know
- 1:10:24what I mean? Like, yeah, that's what's so
- 1:10:26frustrating about movies like this, where I'm like, you've got
- 1:10:29good ideas, just. Yeah.
- 1:10:32I don't know, man. Yeah, it's just, come on, you
- 1:10:34could have done so much better with this.
- 1:10:36Yeah. OK.
- 1:10:38I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.
- 1:10:40Yeah, I I feel that too. OK, so I've got reviews for us.
- 1:10:45OK, so has this tradition for our to be or not to be as we
- 1:10:49pull a good and a bad. Go ahead and read the bad first,
- 1:10:52since that's where we landed, and then we can have a good
- 1:10:54discussion about the good Rubio all.
- 1:10:56Right so user review and IMDb. They rated it 2 out of 10 and
- 1:11:00it's titled as trashy as it sounds.
- 1:11:03So the review says a black headed comedy horror with
- 1:11:07religious overtones. Bloody Bloody Bible Camp is as
- 1:11:09silly and cheesy as it sounds. Always find that the presence of
- 1:11:13a Ron Jeremy cameo guarantees that the film will be really
- 1:11:16bad, and so it proves here. Excuse me.
- 1:11:19Go watch Jersey Shore massacre. Yeah.
- 1:11:23I love. That movie, actually.
- 1:11:24Maybe I got it earlier this week.
- 1:11:25I get it like it's it's a fine movie, but like, yeah.
- 1:11:30I get it like. It's not, like, objectively, a
- 1:11:32great movie, All right, So they go on to say, to my surprise, he
- 1:11:37plays Jesus in this film, which may be the most imaginative that
- 1:11:41the movie gets. Otherwise it's an inept, trauma
- 1:11:44style trash flick, complete with cheap effects, voyeurism, lots
- 1:11:47of cheese, wooden acting and phantasms.
- 1:11:50Reggie Bannister as a priest. OK, they said some things that
- 1:11:55would sell me on it but wouldn't deliver 'cause if they said
- 1:11:58Trauma Style Cheese Fest, I would have been like, hell yeah,
- 1:12:01I'm watching this and then I would have been like, you're 2
- 1:12:03out of 10 reviews steered me wrong for the wrong reasons.
- 1:12:06Yeah. I mean, it does have that trauma
- 1:12:08potential. And at the beginning it does
- 1:12:11kind of match that, but it just kind of falls apart eventually.
- 1:12:15OK, So I've got a good review. This person rated 10 out of 10
- 1:12:19on IDB. OK.
- 1:12:20I'm really excited to hear that perspective on it.
- 1:12:23They say this movie will make you jump, laugh and say what the
- 1:12:27bleep. I don't know if they.
- 1:12:29They must have watched it with caption They.
- 1:12:31Must have. Like, it could be hell.
- 1:12:32Fuck, I don't know. Like, you know.
- 1:12:34Don't choose your own swear. But you say whatever it is all
- 1:12:37in the same scene and at the end you'll be glad you watched it.
- 1:12:40A great mix of classic horror and comedy.
- 1:12:42And then you add in Ron Jeremy playing Jesus and you will have
- 1:12:46an instant classic. I love that they have like Ron
- 1:12:48Jeremy as Jesus is gonna make it a classic and the other person
- 1:12:51is like, yeah, Ron Jeremy is gonna make it a shit movie.
- 1:12:54The movie will keep you wanting to see what happens next and the
- 1:12:57soundtrack is fitting for the time.
- 1:12:59The movie takes place early 80s and funny enough to have you and
- 1:13:04your friends singing when the movie is over.
- 1:13:07It has the gore and the chicks every good horror movie should
- 1:13:09require and poi has a few hidden things you only pick up the more
- 1:13:12you watch it. If you are reading user reviews
- 1:13:15on this movie, stop now and just watch it yourself.
- 1:13:17You won't be disappointed. OK, I appreciate that.
- 1:13:23They like the moments with it and I am glad for them that it
- 1:13:26kept being interesting throughout for them.
- 1:13:29I'm sure this movie is perfect for a lot of people out there.
- 1:13:32It's just wasn't perfect for me. I think it would be fine for
- 1:13:35like like a cleaning the house kind of movie, you know, like
- 1:13:39something that you have on and like you can like as you're
- 1:13:42walking through like dusting and you're like, yeah, cool, this is
- 1:13:45the cool kill scene and then like you go back to doing
- 1:13:48whatever. I agree.
- 1:13:49I think that that, yeah, it would be pretty fine for
- 1:13:51something like that, but I'm not gonna sit there and I guess it's
- 1:13:54not gonna hook me. Went around watching it, like
- 1:13:56I'll sit and watch like a scene or two.
- 1:13:58Honestly, and I say this about a lot of the movies, like if it
- 1:14:01came on randomly on its own that you know, I might leave it on.
- 1:14:05This is one that I don't know that I would.
- 1:14:07I don't know. If it came on, I'd be like if it
- 1:14:10got. Past the opening, I'd be like,
- 1:14:12OK, I've seen enough. Yeah, go ahead and put it on
- 1:14:15something else now. Yeah, I'm just really like, that
- 1:14:17opening had me so hyped for the rest of the movie, so I was
- 1:14:19like, cool. They're hilarious.
- 1:14:21They've got gory kills, they're not taking themselves too
- 1:14:24seriously, and then the rest of the movie just didn't live up to
- 1:14:28that for. Me.
- 1:14:28Yeah, it's so. Frustrating.
- 1:14:30But if you have any different feelings about this movie,
- 1:14:33please feel free to tell us 'cause we're happy to hear that
- 1:14:36stuff. If you have watched this, or if
- 1:14:38you're prompted to watch this for yourself and you feel
- 1:14:42differently about it, or if you feel the same, just let us know.
- 1:14:44Either way what you think about this movie, 'cause we're we're
- 1:14:48curious to know. We like to know what different
- 1:14:50people like about different things.
- 1:14:51And apparently, you know some things, like Ron Jeremy is Jesus
- 1:14:56can be a hit and a miss for completely different people.
- 1:14:58So. That's true.
- 1:14:59I mean, like we say in the opening, every movie has its fan
- 1:15:02base. Yeah, and we're not the fan base
- 1:15:03for this. But you know, if you are, that's
- 1:15:05totally cool. Yeah, I am happy for the people
- 1:15:07that had a good time with this. I am too.
- 1:15:10Anytime that I'm not enjoying a movie, it's I'm not like, it's
- 1:15:16not that I'm like this movie is the worst thing in the world.
- 1:15:18It's 'cause I'm mad, 'cause I want to enjoy every movie I
- 1:15:20watch. That's how I know I don't go
- 1:15:22into a movie like, God, I hope I hate.
- 1:15:24This, yeah. I don't think the movie owes me
- 1:15:26anything, but like, I want to have a good time with it.
- 1:15:28And I'm so mad when I can see that it's got like really good
- 1:15:31ideas there and it just isn't. It isn't getting it for me, but
- 1:15:36I'm glad that it does for other people so.
- 1:15:38OK. Well, that's it for R2B or not
- 1:15:41to be for this month. Yep, that.
