- 0:30Speaker 3: Good morning, everyone, it's other Breaking Points Friday, and I'm
- 0:33Speaker 3: here with my two favorite co hosts on Fridays. We've
- 0:37Speaker 3: got one after party host, Emily Jashinski and we've got
- 0:42Speaker 3: mister goodpolitic guy with Collie Holmes here. What's going on
- 0:46Speaker 3: over the rare appearance?
- 0:48Speaker 4: We love it.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Crystal is sending her child to college. Very emotional for her.
- 0:55Speaker 3: She's probably in tears right now. And old Chris okay, okay,
- 1:03Speaker 3: all right, I'm not touching that. And Ryan, I have
- 1:07Speaker 3: no idea where Ryan is bless you. I have no
- 1:10Speaker 3: idea where Ryan is. Do you guys know whe Ryan is?
- 1:12Speaker 5: I don't either. I thought he was in San Francisco.
- 1:14Speaker 5: He was sending us pictures from San Francisco. So I'm
- 1:17Speaker 5: gonna go with that's where he is. But it's hard
- 1:18Speaker 5: to say at any given moment, it's hard to say.
- 1:20Speaker 5: It's like Carmen San Diego.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Where in the world is Ryan san Francisco. So let's
- 1:25Speaker 3: get to the show, big show, more econ news. Those
- 1:28Speaker 3: US Treasury bonds that we love to hear about are sliding.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Emily's gonna talk about that. I personally have been digging
- 1:36Speaker 3: deep into a lustful romance friendship, something more between one
- 1:43Speaker 3: Miss Natalie Harp, the assistant to our beautiful President Donald Trump,
- 1:48Speaker 3: excited to get into that. Mac is taking a look
- 1:50Speaker 3: at Van Jones, who is out to do some debunking
- 1:54Speaker 3: about videos in Gaza. We'll see how well his debunking goes.
- 2:00Speaker 3: And finally, Emily, who is our.
- 2:02Speaker 5: Guest that we have here today, Well, we have Aaron
- 2:05Speaker 5: Baker on the show. It's a name you might remember
- 2:07Speaker 5: because Aaron joined us last year. He decided to primary
- 2:11Speaker 5: Randy Fine from the right, and we're gonna talk to
- 2:14Speaker 5: him about how that race shook out. He ended up
- 2:16Speaker 5: having to run against Dan Bulzarian and Randy Fine, but
- 2:20Speaker 5: also we're gonna talk to him a bit about his
- 2:24Speaker 5: support for James fishback. So it's gonna be I think
- 2:28Speaker 5: it's gonna be a somewhat I don't know, spicy conversation,
- 2:31Speaker 5: Griffin Darren, Emily went woke.
- 2:34Speaker 6: Yeah, not to spoil too much, but Emily has gone
- 2:36Speaker 6: fully woke.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Yeah that's right, well woke, general woke three point zero.
- 2:41Speaker 5: I'll be leading the charge.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Mm hmm. Yes, you're gonna discharge Kyle Kolinsky from the position.
- 2:47Speaker 3: All right, but let's get to the news. Why don't
- 2:48Speaker 3: we start with our favorite econ guy, Scott Besson, who
- 2:54Speaker 3: spoke to who spoke to the crowd about a spike
- 2:58Speaker 3: in oil prices. Let's take a quick listen to that.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Yeah, well, look, anything that happens within a twenty four
- 3:05Speaker 4: hour period his noise. And you know, I think that
- 3:09Speaker 4: once the market understands that we are focusing on physical
- 3:12Speaker 4: consolidation and that we are trying to bring the market
- 3:18Speaker 4: back into equilibrium in a thinly traded market, I think,
- 3:24Speaker 4: you know, I'm confident that bonds will continue declining. We've
- 3:27Speaker 4: got a spike in oil prices today that I don't
- 3:30Speaker 4: really understand. You know, our announcement is for economic action,
- 3:37Speaker 4: and I think that the economic action will mean that
- 3:40Speaker 4: oil prices will come down sooner.
- 3:42Speaker 3: So Emily, what do you make of that? Because obviously
- 3:44Speaker 3: we know the bravest thing that you can do as
- 3:46Speaker 3: a man is to admit that you don't know something.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Did you see people comparing that to a Parks and
- 3:51Speaker 5: rec moment. We don't really know where the spike is
- 3:53Speaker 5: coming from.
- 3:54Speaker 3: No, I missed that the.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Treasury secretary, so he was also on c NBC, And
- 4:01Speaker 5: I'm just going to read a bit here from the
- 4:02Speaker 5: chief Economics correspondent in the Wall Street Journal's summary of that.
- 4:05Speaker 5: He says Treasury se Pessant discussed the decision to make
- 4:08Speaker 5: a surprise change to debt management, uh warning or He
- 4:11Speaker 5: said markets weren't properly pricing fundamentals, warranting a more activist approach.
- 4:16Speaker 5: This is all what played out yesterday. He also said
- 4:18Speaker 5: plans for fiscal consolidation are forthcoming. So this is Beson's
- 4:21Speaker 5: quote on CNBC. We're trying to signal that we think
- 4:23Speaker 5: this is a thinly traded area of the market that
- 4:26Speaker 5: we're in August, and there's been a lot of corporate
- 4:28Speaker 5: issuance that's influenced the market, and we believe that there
- 4:31Speaker 5: are many underlying factors in turn, that the market is
- 4:33Speaker 5: not looking at, and we're going to make a market
- 4:36Speaker 5: in these We believe that these deals don't reflect the
- 4:38Speaker 5: underlying fundamentals. So that's what he's repeating over and over again.
- 4:41Speaker 5: Goes on to say, people have bad information. I have
- 4:44Speaker 5: asymmetric information. So I think the market should think, well,
- 4:50Speaker 5: why would we have joined the Japanese in the intervention
- 4:53Speaker 5: at this time? Do we know something the market doesn't
- 4:54Speaker 5: know that in terms of being willing to do to
- 4:58Speaker 5: do you know what I would call treasury twist. So
- 5:00Speaker 5: now we have the treasury twist here in terms of
- 5:03Speaker 5: the bond market. What do I know that the market
- 5:05Speaker 5: doesn't know? So I think the market's probably gotten a
- 5:07Speaker 5: little ahead of itself. A lot of people not much
- 5:09Speaker 5: to do in August. I'm going to read from CNBC
- 5:13Speaker 5: here just this morning, looking at treasury yields rebounding in
- 5:17Speaker 5: the headline, wiping out the decline following Besson's intervention. So
- 5:21Speaker 5: They say bond yields climbed on Thursday, coming back from
- 5:24Speaker 5: the pullback they saw the previous day after the Treasury
- 5:26Speaker 5: Department announced an intervention aimed at easing pressure on longer
- 5:30Speaker 5: dated government debt. And let's just pause there as well,
- 5:32Speaker 5: because one of the things we talked to Jeff Stein
- 5:35Speaker 5: about earlier in the week is that Donald Trump, when
- 5:38Speaker 5: he did Liberation Day back in April twenty twenty five,
- 5:43Speaker 5: one of the things that actually the one thing that
- 5:47Speaker 5: had him willing to release some of the pressure that
- 5:53Speaker 5: Liberation Day applied globally was that he saw the bond
- 5:57Speaker 5: markets get quote a little yippie. So just everyone download
- 6:01Speaker 5: that in their mind. Trump does care a lot about this,
- 6:04Speaker 5: as he should. And CNBC goes on to say yields
- 6:06Speaker 5: on ten year US Treasuries, the main benchmark for mortgages,
- 6:09Speaker 5: auto loans, and credit card debt, moved more than five
- 6:11Speaker 5: basis points higher to four point seven percent. The yield
- 6:15Speaker 5: level was above the level it held before the eight
- 6:17Speaker 5: thirty am announcement Wednesday the Treasury would be stepping up
- 6:20Speaker 5: its bond buyback program. The yield on the thirty year
- 6:23Speaker 5: Treasury bond, the primary focus of the accelerated buyback was
- 6:26Speaker 5: up more than five basis points at five point two
- 6:29Speaker 5: four eight percent. The yield on the two year treasury
- 6:31Speaker 5: note was last seen was last seen up less than
- 6:35Speaker 5: one basis point at around four point one to eighty
- 6:38Speaker 5: five percent. CNBC says the moves underscored the difficulty of
- 6:42Speaker 5: market interventions, particularly at a time when US debt faces
- 6:45Speaker 5: a slew of factors that have been pressuring yields higher.
- 6:49Speaker 5: Now he announced made that announcement Wednesday morning that they're
- 6:52Speaker 5: going to double the size of the government debt buybacks
- 6:55Speaker 5: starting on September ninth and then running through November four.
- 7:00Speaker 5: You know, this is Scott Besson at his like this
- 7:04Speaker 5: is his favorite thing to do. Basically, like this is
- 7:07Speaker 5: is the strategy.
- 7:08Speaker 6: Is the strategy just to try to gaslight the market
- 7:12Speaker 6: into not accepting the fundamentals of like what's actually underlying
- 7:19Speaker 6: the market itself. It sounds like he's just trying to
- 7:21Speaker 6: because you have compounding factors of you know, US national
- 7:25Speaker 6: debt just hit forty trillion dollars, you have the Iran
- 7:27Speaker 6: war that's driving you know, inflation higher than it otherwise
- 7:30Speaker 6: would have been. You know, you have the tariffs and
- 7:33Speaker 6: the rebounding effects of that. All of this is like
- 7:35Speaker 6: coinciding with this bond crisis. And he's basically saying no, no, no,
- 7:40Speaker 6: I know things that like the market doesn't not, So
- 7:42Speaker 6: just like just trust the process. We have this fully
- 7:45Speaker 6: under control.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Yes, and the dead buy back, I mean with the
- 7:48Speaker 3: dead buyback, he's basically like using Klarna at this point
- 7:51Speaker 3: right to like pay off our American debt. He's using
- 7:56Speaker 3: loans to buy more debt.
- 7:58Speaker 5: Well, here's how Shift reacted said he said. Besson said,
- 8:03Speaker 5: the free market is mispricing long term bond yield. So
- 8:05Speaker 5: he wants to use the superior judgment and power of
- 8:07Speaker 5: central government planners to correct the mistakes of capitalism. Good
- 8:10Speaker 5: thing we didn't elect a democratic socialist president. So it's
- 8:14Speaker 5: an attack on best there from the right saying listen,
- 8:16Speaker 5: what you're going to do is correct the markets pricing
- 8:20Speaker 5: from the central government. And so yeah, you could call
- 8:23Speaker 5: it gas lighting, or you could call it having access
- 8:26Speaker 5: to asymmetric information MAC and you are working with the
- 8:31Speaker 5: symmetric information.
- 8:33Speaker 7: Right.
- 8:33Speaker 5: So obviously on Thursday, Brent Crude, do we have this
- 8:37Speaker 5: tear street? Brent Crude went up to ninety four to
- 8:39Speaker 5: sixty a barrel, That is its highest since July twenty fourth,
- 8:43Speaker 5: drop Site reported pulled back down to about ninety three
- 8:46Speaker 5: dollars a barrel. Oil drop Site reports has now risen
- 8:49Speaker 5: for five straight sessions as trader's price in tighter Middle
- 8:53Speaker 5: East supply and the risk of further escalation. Yeah, you
- 8:56Speaker 5: just saw that on the screen, So yeah, it is.
- 8:59Speaker 5: I was.
- 9:00Speaker 6: I was told that the straight of four Moves is
- 9:01Speaker 6: completely the free and open for transit, right, and the
- 9:05Speaker 6: fifty first state and the fifty first state that Trump
- 9:08Speaker 6: has now taken control of.
- 9:10Speaker 5: There was a meme going around. I don't remember. I
- 9:12Speaker 5: think it was real. I think someone, Oh, yeah, it
- 9:13Speaker 5: was that. What was the guy who like, as soon
- 9:16Speaker 5: as Charlie was killed last year, the Brin says name
- 9:20Speaker 5: Brin Bryn Brint Hollyhand. He was like, if we can
- 9:24Speaker 5: rename the Gulf of Mexico the Golf of America, why
- 9:27Speaker 5: don't we call it the Strait of America. So something
- 9:30Speaker 5: could be in the works on that point.
- 9:31Speaker 3: We're not something to there. We've got another clip from
- 9:34Speaker 3: Beston here about jobs. Do we should we play that?
- 9:36Speaker 5: Yeah, let's roll.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Let's roll that one, all right, because he's he's not,
- 9:39Speaker 3: because he's bringing asymmetric warfare to all sorts of the
- 9:44Speaker 3: parts of our economy, including the job market. Let's take
- 9:48Speaker 3: a listen.
- 9:50Speaker 8: You know, I just wanted to get your read on
- 9:52Speaker 8: the economy as we see oil prices marching higher again,
- 9:55Speaker 8: we have seen tremendous resilience, as you noted from the consumer,
- 9:58Speaker 8: but there are signs that the job mark maybe cracking
- 10:01Speaker 8: a little bit. Got a week job job report last month.
- 10:04Speaker 8: I'm curious about your assessment as to how much we
- 10:07Speaker 8: can handle all of this.
- 10:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the jobs numbers are quite noisy. And again,
- 10:13Speaker 4: sir that the other thing that's important too is like
- 10:16Speaker 4: the jobs that we're seeing are going to Americans after
- 10:20Speaker 4: the deportations that we've seen during President Trump's administration and
- 10:24Speaker 4: the closing of the border. That like that this unfettered migration,
- 10:29Speaker 4: we don't need to produce as many jobs.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Okay, Well, from from yippie to noisy.
- 10:37Speaker 5: I want to just say, like, Scott Beston is obviously
- 10:39Speaker 5: a serious person, because we're in what sense we're kind
- 10:43Speaker 5: of clowning on him for these ridiculous quotes, but in
- 10:48Speaker 5: the sense that like he's a mastermind behind the scenes
- 10:52Speaker 5: like this is he knows a lot of this like
- 10:55Speaker 5: the back of his hands, to the except anybody can.
- 10:57Speaker 5: And so all that is to say he's a seriou
- 11:00Speaker 5: person to the extent that like he is a deep
- 11:03Speaker 5: student of the markets. He understands, you know, to the
- 11:07Speaker 5: extent that somebody can. And this is part of the
- 11:08Speaker 5: problem what happens in these spaces. And he is now
- 11:13Speaker 5: I think, having the time of his life engineering it
- 11:18Speaker 5: from the background. Like that's what I was saying when
- 11:21Speaker 5: I'm like, this is Scott Besson in his favorite position,
- 11:24Speaker 5: like he is loving this. I feel like you can
- 11:26Speaker 5: see that he is loving this because he gets to
- 11:30Speaker 5: play act as like the mastermind behind the scenes. Now
- 11:34Speaker 5: I'm looking at as is Jeff Cox writing in CNBC
- 11:38Speaker 5: saying that Besson's interventions hasn't worked. We're talking about let me,
- 11:42Speaker 5: we're talking about if I'm remembering the number correctly here, Uh,
- 11:47Speaker 5: he confirmed as much as four billion dollars. Let me
- 11:52Speaker 5: just pull this up for dollars of what Yeah, So
- 11:56Speaker 5: he's he confirmed that the size of the buybacks could
- 11:59Speaker 5: exceed for billion dollars four billion dollars, and so Cox
- 12:05Speaker 5: then writes it's not working. He says, basically, not all
- 12:10Speaker 5: the factors that play are fundamental. They include rising competition
- 12:13Speaker 5: from corporate bond issuance, like Bessett said, as well as
- 12:15Speaker 5: suddenly attractive fields of other sovereigns, including Japan, a correlation
- 12:19Speaker 5: with oil prices that in turn increases inflation fears, and
- 12:22Speaker 5: increasing term premiums or the extra yield investors are demanding.
- 12:26Speaker 5: He says. To combat those problems, Bessett could seek cooperation
- 12:28Speaker 5: with the Federal Reserve because guess who's at the Federal
- 12:31Speaker 5: Reserve now? Kevin warsh but has said that the two
- 12:35Speaker 5: entities Bessett has said the two entities quote would work
- 12:38Speaker 5: together in dealing with complications in the bond markets and
- 12:41Speaker 5: as the central bank manages its own treasury holdings. He
- 12:45Speaker 5: quotes somebody who's the chief credit officer at Moody's saying
- 12:48Speaker 5: there's also been a structural shift in who buys US
- 12:50Speaker 5: government debt as central banks shrink their balance sheets and
- 12:53Speaker 5: traditional duration buyers reach the limits of how much additional
- 12:56Speaker 5: issuance they can absorb. New buyers, such as leveraged hedge funds.
- 13:00Speaker 5: That's Beson's background running relative value strategies are playing a
- 13:04Speaker 5: bigger role. So what they really need, frankly, is an
- 13:09Speaker 5: end to the war more than anything else. And that's
- 13:11Speaker 5: like the most obvious point. There are deeper underlying problems.
- 13:16Speaker 5: They still have a terrorf regime lest we forget. Yes,
- 13:20Speaker 5: the Supreme Court overturned some tariffs, but they do still
- 13:22Speaker 5: have a terrorf regime in play. That is economically well,
- 13:27Speaker 5: I was gonna say risky, but it's influential in terms
- 13:30Speaker 5: of all of this. But the war itself, with what
- 13:34Speaker 5: it's doing to oil prices, is what they need to
- 13:38Speaker 5: have an end to, and they have absolutely no end
- 13:40Speaker 5: to it. And now people in DC are saying, well,
- 13:42Speaker 5: Besson is more important than heg Sath, Like that's the line.
- 13:45Speaker 5: I think it was a political playbook yesterday that Besson
- 13:47Speaker 5: is now more important than heg Seth because he's trying
- 13:49Speaker 5: to give Trump room to deal with this economic fallout
- 13:53Speaker 5: from his purche at treasury. And it's like, good luck,
- 13:57Speaker 5: because the one thing that you need to do is
- 13:59Speaker 5: actually just get back to the pre war status quo
- 14:02Speaker 5: in the straight of horror moves and you will be
- 14:06Speaker 5: in a wildly different position. Good luck with that, though,
- 14:09Speaker 5: because there's right Iran knows that we have elections coming up.
- 14:12Speaker 5: Iran knows that's important to Trump and Republicans, and you're
- 14:16Speaker 5: in this mess of your own making.
- 14:18Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, that's what this all comes down to
- 14:20Speaker 6: at the end of the day, right is that you
- 14:22Speaker 6: have this memorium of understanding and then it sort of
- 14:24Speaker 6: fell apart. It was sort of like I would consider
- 14:27Speaker 6: it to be somewhat of a surrender document. Kind of
- 14:29Speaker 6: rightfully so, given the fact that we, I think, by
- 14:32Speaker 6: any stretch of the imagination, didn't win this war, but
- 14:35Speaker 6: they've ended up in a situation now where a couple
- 14:38Speaker 6: of days ago, Trump is posting this, you know image
- 14:40Speaker 6: we controlled the straight of horor moves. He says, there's
- 14:42Speaker 6: no talks with Iran that are even on the table
- 14:45Speaker 6: right now, So there is there's not even a hypothetical
- 14:48Speaker 6: off ramp or a long term resolution to this into
- 14:52Speaker 6: the future. And so I'm looking at Scott Bessen and like,
- 14:55Speaker 6: you know, he may be knowledgeable on what he on
- 14:58Speaker 6: the markets and how they function at a base level,
- 15:00Speaker 6: but like, what is he supposed to do if they've
- 15:02Speaker 6: been completely backed into a corner? And Trump at this
- 15:05Speaker 6: point has made the entirety of this war about control
- 15:08Speaker 6: over the straight of horror moves and is unwilling to
- 15:11Speaker 6: make any of the concessions that would be necessary to
- 15:14Speaker 6: actually end the war. I mean, we've been backed into
- 15:16Speaker 6: a corner at this point. It just it reeks of desperation.
- 15:20Speaker 5: Yes, yes, I think desperation is a good word for.
- 15:23Speaker 3: That, and I think asymmetric is the best word though
- 15:26Speaker 3: the way.
- 15:26Speaker 5: It is the best word, it is the best word.
- 15:30Speaker 5: But what I was gonna say is this is why, Well, Okay,
- 15:35Speaker 5: so Bessont understands to max point, Yeah, Bessett understands this world.
- 15:42Speaker 5: But he also again, just to emphasize, Chrison and I
- 15:45Speaker 5: were talking about this with Japan, like his Japanese intervention,
- 15:49Speaker 5: it's something that had happened before, but with him, I
- 15:53Speaker 5: just feel like he really relishes this role of playing
- 15:55Speaker 5: like global economic mastermind. And uh, again, it doesn't matter.
- 16:01Speaker 5: I mean, I guess it matters a lot. But until
- 16:04Speaker 5: you end the war, you're going to see these problems
- 16:09Speaker 5: ripple throughout the rest of the economy. And it doesn't
- 16:11Speaker 5: That wouldn't make the rest of the problems go away,
- 16:13Speaker 5: but it would put us in a situation where you're
- 16:16Speaker 5: not seeing this insanity. And yet that's the one problem
- 16:20Speaker 5: that's the intractable problem in all of this, and so
- 16:23Speaker 5: he's trying to work with what he has, but he
- 16:26Speaker 5: can't change that.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Well, Emily, you mentioned sanity, which I think leads us
- 16:33Speaker 3: to our next segment, because what is more insane than
- 16:38Speaker 3: young love? Of course, I'm referring to one miss Natalie Harp. Now,
- 16:46Speaker 3: there's been a lot of stuff this week coming out
- 16:48Speaker 3: about Trump's aid Natalie Harp and the extent of their relationship.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Some of the hits that have been coming out across
- 16:57Speaker 3: the week are that there is a very strong physical
- 17:02Speaker 3: proximity to the president from this one Natalie. There has
- 17:07Speaker 3: been reports that she once slept in a locker room.
- 17:13Speaker 3: She spent a summer sleeping in a locker room at
- 17:15Speaker 3: Trump's Bedminister golf club to remain close to him after
- 17:18Speaker 3: she was denied a room. There was another story about
- 17:21Speaker 3: her hopping into the trunk of a motorcade car so
- 17:25Speaker 3: she could remain near the president, sort of a Looney
- 17:28Speaker 3: Tunes amount of action with her chasing after the president.
- 17:31Speaker 3: There was another story where they were on a golf
- 17:34Speaker 3: course and she wasn't allowed into one of the golf carts,
- 17:37Speaker 3: so she ended up jogging feverishly behind to catch up
- 17:42Speaker 3: with the golf cart brigade. And there have also been
- 17:47Speaker 3: reports of letters that she leaves the President. She is
- 17:51Speaker 3: known as his human printer, the one that actually writes
- 17:55Speaker 3: the amazing truth social posts that we all read and
- 17:59Speaker 3: report on the Show of Day. He dictates them, He
- 18:01Speaker 3: dictates them out loud, and then she types the griffin
- 18:05Speaker 3: and sends them. He dictates them out. And so I
- 18:11Speaker 3: wanted to give a taste of who this person is
- 18:13Speaker 3: from her own words, from some of her time on OA,
- 18:15Speaker 3: and to get a little flavor. And then I want
- 18:17Speaker 3: to read one of these letters to the president.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Well, and we should just to set this up if
- 18:21Speaker 5: people haven't been following this. Basically, this kicked off because
- 18:25Speaker 5: of that Washington Post report that Trump left Air Force One,
- 18:29Speaker 5: including Secretary of Saint Marco Rubio, the Press Corps, and
- 18:33Speaker 5: many of his own staffers because of what we now know,
- 18:35Speaker 5: according to the reports, was a piece of Israeli intelligence
- 18:38Speaker 5: that a surface at air missile on the ground in
- 18:41Speaker 5: Ancora could potentially take down Air Force One. Our intelligence
- 18:44Speaker 5: services didn't judge it as serious a serious threat Trump anyway,
- 18:49Speaker 5: we don't know if it was because of Secret Service
- 18:51Speaker 5: or Trump himself goes on leaves Air Force One and
- 18:56Speaker 5: takes Natalie Harp with him as one of the few
- 18:59Speaker 5: pace people that were taken from Air Force One onto
- 19:03Speaker 5: the catering truck and making the escape, and so that
- 19:06Speaker 5: kicked off this latest wave. Senator John Osoff goes in,
- 19:10Speaker 5: gives this big viral speech and says Trump would rather
- 19:14Speaker 5: be Yeah, let's let's rock it.
- 19:15Speaker 9: And while the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war,
- 19:21Speaker 9: while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves. The
- 19:26Speaker 9: President sleeps through his meetings, he golfs and trade stops.
- 19:34Speaker 9: So he doesn't want to do the job. He wants
- 19:38Speaker 9: to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their
- 19:40Speaker 9: apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Wow.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Wow, So the osof said this particular I think Jensaki
- 19:51Speaker 5: pushed him on it, and Osov said this particular aid
- 19:55Speaker 5: has been referred to as his security blanket and the like,
- 19:58Speaker 5: and the right freaked o. Scott Jennings freaked out and
- 20:02Speaker 5: was saying, that's like a very unbecoming of a Senator,
- 20:06Speaker 5: how do you pick on Natalie Harp, who is a
- 20:08Speaker 5: She does genuinely attribute Trump to surviving cancer because he
- 20:13Speaker 5: did what's called right to try in his first administration. Yes,
- 20:17Speaker 5: and that did allow her to have access to experimental
- 20:19Speaker 5: cancer treatments that can actually change people's lives and can
- 20:22Speaker 5: it's it's a.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Good thing, but which also doctors have pushed back on
- 20:25Speaker 3: saying that those drugs, the drugs that helped her were
- 20:29Speaker 3: actually already available. Perhaps, but she has connected it to
- 20:33Speaker 3: his right to try.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't see that. That made me. She does
- 20:37Speaker 5: et no, no, but you're right she does. She is
- 20:39Speaker 5: the one who connects it directly, so that her brother
- 20:41Speaker 5: went on I think CNN with Aaron Burnett and said,
- 20:44Speaker 5: that's exactly what it is. She attributes that to Trump.
- 20:47Speaker 5: And these rumors about her had been circulating for a
- 20:51Speaker 5: while because she is really close to the president, and
- 20:53Speaker 5: we'd heard previously about notes that had found their way
- 20:57Speaker 5: I think into the presidential bedroom, and so it had
- 21:00Speaker 5: been under the surface, but then because of the Washington
- 21:03Speaker 5: Post report on leaving Air Force One, it exploded to
- 21:07Speaker 5: a major story this week. So with all of that said, Griffin,
- 21:10Speaker 5: this little explanation of who Natalie Harve is. She was
- 21:13Speaker 5: previously a one American news network anchor, ended up working
- 21:16Speaker 5: in the White House, has been with Trump ever since.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Let's roll it.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Let's hear from our own words for a second.
- 21:22Speaker 10: We can't talk about winning back the House and Senate
- 21:26Speaker 10: in twenty twenty two and the White House in twenty
- 21:28Speaker 10: twenty four if we don't act on the fact that
- 21:31Speaker 10: we actually did win the White House and the Senate
- 21:34Speaker 10: in twenty twenty.
- 21:35Speaker 5: We shouldn't be afraid to.
- 21:36Speaker 10: Say that, because it's true.
- 21:38Speaker 11: We the people know America as we know it could
- 21:41Speaker 11: be ending in the next two or four years. Oh wow,
- 21:44Speaker 11: that is exactly what President Trump is warning of. They
- 21:46Speaker 11: think if they can get President Trump, they can get
- 21:49Speaker 11: the seventy five million people to shut up and stand down.
- 21:52Speaker 11: And then, as President Trump said at Seapac yesterday, each
- 21:56Speaker 11: of us, if we haven't already have a decision to
- 21:58Speaker 11: make twenty twenty two at the ballot box, but right
- 22:02Speaker 11: here and right now, to choose a side. And by
- 22:05Speaker 11: the way, sidelines don't count.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Sidelines do not count. Mac What is it like this?
- 22:11Speaker 5: Can I just make a little quip here? It's like
- 22:14Speaker 5: the joke news segment that thirty Rock would run, Like
- 22:18Speaker 5: you know what I mean, It's like if you did
- 22:20Speaker 5: a thirty Rock cutaway, like making fun of segments like this.
- 22:23Speaker 5: It watches exactly like that.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Oh h definitely always reached to me as the thing
- 22:27Speaker 3: that's on TV in the movie, like it's the fake
- 22:31Speaker 3: news show in the movie. But Mac, what are we
- 22:33Speaker 3: to make of this is the is how they first
- 22:36Speaker 3: became so connected over the stop to steal thing.
- 22:41Speaker 6: I mean, the cancer thing that you said makes a
- 22:44Speaker 6: lot more sense to me because and I was talking
- 22:46Speaker 6: to Griffin earlier about this, Like she really does come
- 22:48Speaker 6: across in the letters that she's put out in the
- 22:51Speaker 6: behavior of chasing him down the golf course, like she
- 22:54Speaker 6: wrote a whole letter apologizing for her behavior, like I'm
- 22:57Speaker 6: so sorry if I embarrassed you or whatever. It really
- 23:00Speaker 6: is like she's in a cult and Trump is just
- 23:03Speaker 6: her personal savior. So it does like track on the
- 23:07Speaker 6: cancer thing if she credits him with like saving her
- 23:09Speaker 6: life or whatever. But it's just bizarre, man, Like this
- 23:13Speaker 6: is some of the strangest stuff I've ever seen, because
- 23:16Speaker 6: even you see it in like the cabinet meetings, right,
- 23:19Speaker 6: like everybody understands that Trump kind of wants everybody to
- 23:22Speaker 6: like jerk him off in these cabinet meetings, and they
- 23:24Speaker 6: go around the table and everybody like praises him in
- 23:26Speaker 6: their own little way. Marco Rubio, pete hegseth, you're the
- 23:28Speaker 6: greatest president ever. You've stopped eight hundred wars whatever else.
- 23:32Speaker 6: But this is like a true believer. Like I don't
- 23:34Speaker 6: think necessarily that Marco Rubio believes it when he's sucking
- 23:38Speaker 6: up to Trump. This is somebody who was like fully
- 23:40Speaker 6: drank the kool aid. This is my Lord and Savior
- 23:43Speaker 6: Jesus Christ here. Yeah, well, do we have the letters?
- 23:46Speaker 5: Because the Daily Beast says, yeah, pull these up so
- 23:49Speaker 5: people can see exactly what Max's talking about.
- 23:50Speaker 3: And Emily, do you have like some sultry piano or
- 23:53Speaker 3: maybe like a saxophone you could play while I read this,
- 23:56Speaker 3: all right? You could also just sing this is the
- 23:59Speaker 3: this is the letter, dear mister President. I'm sorry. I
- 24:02Speaker 3: thought I was the only one left behind last night
- 24:04Speaker 3: and had no idea. Margo's car was also pulled over
- 24:06Speaker 3: and sent back to the airport. Since I was alone
- 24:09Speaker 3: in the van outside customs without my passport, I panicked
- 24:12Speaker 3: and should have just called Secret Service instead of you.
- 24:15Speaker 3: I also am sorry if I was an embarrassment walking
- 24:19Speaker 3: the course in Scotland. The first day, I was told
- 24:21Speaker 3: there were no carts and people walked, which is why
- 24:24Speaker 3: I walked. The second day, I was specifically asked by
- 24:27Speaker 3: I forgot who his name was, but one of the
- 24:29Speaker 3: main people who worked there if I could continue walking
- 24:32Speaker 3: and tell any other girls who had head out there
- 24:35Speaker 3: to do the same, to spare the course any more carts.
- 24:38Speaker 3: If there's anything else I've done to cause you trouble,
- 24:40Speaker 3: please forgive me. I know that some people have said
- 24:43Speaker 3: I haven't been texting them back, and there have been
- 24:45Speaker 3: some international cell issues. John was having technical issues on
- 24:48Speaker 3: the plane too. I want things to always be right
- 24:51Speaker 3: between us. I also know that I've been distracted all
- 24:54Speaker 3: week forgetting to eat throughout the days, and even forgetting
- 24:57Speaker 3: to sleep and only catching a couple hours at a time.
- 25:00Speaker 3: I haven't been myself dwelling on the past and the
- 25:03Speaker 3: pain of losing my dad, and I started letting the
- 25:06Speaker 3: remarks of people who haven't bothered me before get to me.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Not because I care what others think, because I see
- 25:11Speaker 3: myself being lowered in your eyes and good opinion. That
- 25:15Speaker 3: is the fear you see because I never want to
- 25:18Speaker 3: bring you anything but joy. I'm sorry I lost my focus.
- 25:21Speaker 3: You are all that matters to me. I don't want
- 25:24Speaker 3: to ever let you down. Thank you for being my
- 25:27Speaker 3: guardian and protect her in this life. That's what I
- 25:30Speaker 3: wanted to use this card for. When you saw me
- 25:32Speaker 3: at the cash register and once again did what you
- 25:35Speaker 3: didn't have to do and gifted me with the mementos
- 25:38Speaker 3: of this trip of a lifetime, a coming of age.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I will return a better person. I have to sign
- 25:45Speaker 3: off now as the cars are leaving. See you soon
- 25:48Speaker 3: with all my heart.
- 25:49Speaker 5: Real Natalie, And did you notice she uses caps? I
- 25:53Speaker 5: mean the viewers might not be able to see this,
- 25:55Speaker 5: but she uses capitalizations in a Trumpian style. Yeah, aping
- 25:59Speaker 5: him and I think this reminds me a lot of
- 26:02Speaker 5: something that I found I shouldn't probably say this, but
- 26:06Speaker 5: I found this in Max stuff. The rest directed to
- 26:09Speaker 5: Sager Ma's.
- 26:13Speaker 6: That's true, that's exactly so those were my guards, my
- 26:17Speaker 6: protector in this.
- 26:18Speaker 5: Life, capital p protector.
- 26:22Speaker 3: But it reminds me of that woman that was dating
- 26:24Speaker 3: the like basketball like billionaire guy who's like I'm his
- 26:28Speaker 3: little rabbit. Remember that clip, I'm his little bunny and
- 26:32Speaker 3: not important.
- 26:34Speaker 5: I listen, Griffin, I know you're really big into sports,
- 26:37Speaker 5: but yeah, just Dodgers had on. Well, so let's get
- 26:42Speaker 5: into the sour sale a little bit here, because these
- 26:43Speaker 5: were given to Michael wolf and Michael Wolfe's reporting ranges
- 26:48Speaker 5: from insane like not true establishment TMZ worse. He he
- 26:58Speaker 5: admits to like completely making things up. Basically that sometimes
- 27:01Speaker 5: he dramatizes. Yeah, and that's if you're purporting to be
- 27:04Speaker 5: a journalist. That means that you're often writing fiction. So anyway,
- 27:07Speaker 5: all this to say, this is an actual copy of
- 27:09Speaker 5: a letter, and Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman in their
- 27:12Speaker 5: book reported on some of these letters as well and
- 27:16Speaker 5: said that they were being left in Trump's personal spaces.
- 27:19Speaker 5: So from conversations that I have had about all of this,
- 27:24Speaker 5: everybody thinks this is weird. You know, everybody circled the
- 27:27Speaker 5: wagons around Natalie Harp this week and defended her vociferously.
- 27:31Speaker 5: Nobody knows, Honestly, nobody knows what's really happening, if it's
- 27:35Speaker 5: more than just this emotional fawning from Natalie Harp, which
- 27:39Speaker 5: I think is perfectly plausible, like top aids do get
- 27:43Speaker 5: access to the living space at the White House because
- 27:46Speaker 5: they're working as soon as the President gets up and
- 27:49Speaker 5: probably as the president's going to bed, So it's not
- 27:51Speaker 5: unheard of that staff would be in the residence. And
- 27:54Speaker 5: that could be quote unquote personal spaces. And it could
- 27:57Speaker 5: totally be on a one way love of right like
- 28:00Speaker 5: Trump is, he prizes loyalty. Here you have somebody who's
- 28:05Speaker 5: a little weird and has this deep emotional connection to him,
- 28:07Speaker 5: credits him with saving her life and knows that he
- 28:10Speaker 5: loves loyalty and loves people who faonnel over him and
- 28:14Speaker 5: plays to that and has perfectly reasonable access to the residents.
- 28:19Speaker 5: Or it could be not that, which is the implication,
- 28:23Speaker 5: And I honestly have no idea. I don't think that
- 28:26Speaker 5: people who are in like Trump circles don't have any idea.
- 28:30Speaker 3: There's no way that there is a full blown sexual
- 28:34Speaker 3: interaction happening, which some are alleging. I mean, there's no way.
- 28:38Speaker 3: I think it's a little bit more when nurse a
- 28:41Speaker 3: nurse caretaker situation than a sexual I mean, there's just
- 28:45Speaker 3: no way that Trump, at his current shape and age
- 28:49Speaker 3: can even physically perform. Yeah, I mean he's he's a
- 28:52Speaker 3: shape that's never been invented before. Like, I just don't
- 28:55Speaker 3: see there need to be like a nuclear reactor amount
- 28:58Speaker 3: of blue chee to make that happened. So I think
- 29:00Speaker 3: it's something a little bit sadder. I think it's still clear.
- 29:04Speaker 6: Well, what's even the saddest part about this is that
- 29:07Speaker 6: there's like a zero percent chance Trump read that letter
- 29:10Speaker 6: in the first place, right, Like there's no shot.
- 29:15Speaker 5: Well, because somehow it got to Michael Wolfe, which tells
- 29:17Speaker 5: me that someone else intercepted it and was leaking it
- 29:20Speaker 5: to the press.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Michael Wolfe has also reported that Milania was not seen
- 29:25Speaker 3: on the twenty twenty four campaign race with Trump because
- 29:29Speaker 3: she did not like Natalie's proximity. Malania did actually come
- 29:34Speaker 3: out yesterday to give a public speech at the White
- 29:38Speaker 3: House for the first time. Maybe she's feeling some of
- 29:40Speaker 3: the heat from this story, But there was some defenders
- 29:44Speaker 3: of Natalie and people who were very aghast at John
- 29:48Speaker 3: Assaf's cruel caddie remarks, and of course Mac watchs your
- 29:54Speaker 3: reaction to this. Our favorite CNN panelist, Scott Jennings, who
- 30:00Speaker 3: was challenged on his attacks on us off. Let's all
- 30:04Speaker 3: take a listen to that.
- 30:05Speaker 12: Go ahead, him, just play it, because there's just such
- 30:08Speaker 12: a long history of this Trump punching down, insulting women.
- 30:12Speaker 9: Let's just play it, never complaining about it.
- 30:14Speaker 5: You've called women you don't like, fat pigs, dogs, slop
- 30:19Speaker 5: and disgusting animals.
- 30:23Speaker 8: O'donald, But what we want to do is to replenish such.
- 30:27Speaker 3: A nasty one.
- 30:28Speaker 9: You are a worst reporter.
- 30:30Speaker 3: No one to see she in.
- 30:31Speaker 5: It has no.
- 30:32Speaker 9: Ratings because of people like you.
- 30:34Speaker 3: You know, she's a young woman.
- 30:35Speaker 9: I don't think I've ever seen you smile.
- 30:37Speaker 7: I've known you for ten years.
- 30:39Speaker 9: I don't think I've ever seen a smile.
- 30:51Speaker 12: Quiet piggy, I mean, Scott Dan was pretty straightforward. If
- 30:58Speaker 12: you're going to be outraged over m traveling on a
- 31:01Speaker 12: plane with Natalie, are you going to be outraged over
- 31:03Speaker 12: all those things?
- 31:04Speaker 5: I do not believe in demeaning women in any way?
- 31:07Speaker 7: Number one. Number two was.
- 31:12Speaker 5: The president and the issue the issue, the issue I
- 31:16Speaker 5: had with this?
- 31:16Speaker 7: Are you outraged or.
- 31:19Speaker 5: The issue? Are the issue I had with this?
- 31:22Speaker 7: Natalie Harp is not a public figure. She has that
- 31:28Speaker 7: has no.
- 31:34Speaker 3: All right, well, that's the incredible moderation at CNN where
- 31:42Speaker 3: you can't hear a single thing mac Is Natalie Harp
- 31:46Speaker 3: a private purpose? That's what I was.
- 31:47Speaker 6: I'm so confused by that, Like what do you mean
- 31:50Speaker 6: she's a top age She's constantly making public appearances with him,
- 31:53Speaker 6: Like in what way is she and she can't defend
- 31:55Speaker 6: herself Like this is it's insane. I mean the hypocrisy
- 31:58Speaker 6: angle of it, obviously, like the it's obvious you don't
- 32:01Speaker 6: even really need to make that point. Scott isn't gonna,
- 32:03Speaker 6: you know, admit any of that.
- 32:05Speaker 5: At the end of the day.
- 32:06Speaker 6: I guess I'm just sort of like I watched the
- 32:08Speaker 6: John Ossoff clip and if anything, I'm like he could
- 32:11Speaker 6: have gone way harder, Like what is the outrage meter
- 32:15Speaker 6: for the Republicans getting upset about this? Because like what
- 32:18Speaker 6: was actually offensive about what he said? It was like
- 32:21Speaker 6: kind of a vague implication of like maybe there's something
- 32:24Speaker 6: going on there, but like, Okay, Trump says worse on
- 32:26Speaker 6: an average Tuesday, what are we talking about?
- 32:30Speaker 5: I think it so the only thing I would disagree
- 32:32Speaker 5: with on that, Like it's it's glaringly hypocritical from Scott Jennings.
- 32:36Speaker 5: Laughable all of that, I think it might be a
- 32:39Speaker 5: tiny problem for us off in the same way that
- 32:41Speaker 5: some of this was a problem for Biden. Not a
- 32:43Speaker 5: massive problem, but there's a I guess, a broader issue
- 32:48Speaker 5: if you are campaigning and this is where actually some
- 32:51Speaker 5: of the dark Woke gets it right, if you're campaigning
- 32:55Speaker 5: on restoring American civility and norms, and then it's not
- 33:03Speaker 5: so much like everyone has low expectations. I think at
- 33:05Speaker 5: this point of the people who defend Trump but as off,
- 33:08Speaker 5: if you're trying to like take the when they go low,
- 33:11Speaker 5: we go high route and go above what you say
- 33:15Speaker 5: are the bad standards and expectations, and then you do
- 33:18Speaker 5: stuff like this, it makes people be like, oh, come on, man,
- 33:21Speaker 5: Like which one is it? Like we either have to
- 33:23Speaker 5: go gloves off or you have to like you can't
- 33:26Speaker 5: have it both ways. And I think that's where just politically,
- 33:30Speaker 5: not morally, but politically, I think that's a little bit
- 33:33Speaker 5: of an issue, like you have to choose a lane,
- 33:35Speaker 5: like you either have to go full gloves off or
- 33:39Speaker 5: like who's a good example of something? Well S is
- 33:41Speaker 5: probably a good example of that. Yeah, he's a good example.
- 33:44Speaker 3: He's a little sassy's side of gloves off.
- 33:47Speaker 5: I think he's sort of dark woke, yeah at this point, right,
- 33:50Speaker 5: But I mean you got to go one way or
- 33:51Speaker 5: the other.
- 33:51Speaker 6: I get your point, Emily, but I also think there's
- 33:55Speaker 6: almost no appetite for the you know, they go low,
- 33:58Speaker 6: we go high attitude anymore with the Democratic voter base.
- 34:01Speaker 6: Like it's at this point, it's, you know, everybody's saying
- 34:04Speaker 6: fuck it, you know whatever, We've we've had eight years
- 34:06Speaker 6: of a Trump presidency, term one, term two, Like there
- 34:09Speaker 6: are no standards anymore. And even you know, to the
- 34:12Speaker 6: return to civility, I don't that's not something that I
- 34:15Speaker 6: personally care about. But like even if you are quote
- 34:18Speaker 6: unquote dark woke or you're a little bit edgy or
- 34:20Speaker 6: your gloves off from like a democratic politician perspective, that's
- 34:25Speaker 6: still going to be like infinitely more civility based than
- 34:31Speaker 6: what we're getting from the Trump administration. Like it's almost
- 34:34Speaker 6: unfathomable to think of a democratic version of Donald Trump
- 34:38Speaker 6: that is as brash and you know, upfront about just
- 34:43Speaker 6: being kind of an asshole all the time. Like I
- 34:45Speaker 6: can't really make a comparison on the left to any
- 34:48Speaker 6: major political figure like that.
- 34:50Speaker 5: Yeah, there's nobody that will ever be like Donald Trump.
- 34:54Speaker 5: Like that's there's just no comparison. Nobody who will be
- 34:56Speaker 5: on a debate stage being like only Rosio Donald. It's
- 35:00Speaker 5: just never gonna happen. So yeah, it's it's a it's
- 35:03Speaker 5: a question of how post Trump Republicans handle that. But
- 35:07Speaker 5: I do think as off like when he was going viral,
- 35:10Speaker 5: maybe this isn't his fault. Maybe he's not trying that well.
- 35:12Speaker 5: I don't know. I think he's pretty clearly doing a
- 35:14Speaker 5: gentle Obama impression. Oh, just like we see Joshapiro in
- 35:18Speaker 5: those sorts and that's fair.
- 35:20Speaker 6: At home well, and you can see that. You can
- 35:22Speaker 6: see all the camera crews with him. He brings like
- 35:23Speaker 6: a professional camera crew with him to get all these
- 35:25Speaker 6: different angles at every single one of these rous.
- 35:27Speaker 3: The lower angle looking up, that's that's that's the Asov
- 35:30Speaker 3: shot or what else.
- 35:31Speaker 5: He's documentarian and he's on that, he's on that tee.
- 35:34Speaker 6: So he's gotten himself all like jacked over the last
- 35:36Speaker 6: couple of years, like he's making a run for it.
- 35:39Speaker 3: I guess the question for for both of you, and
- 35:41Speaker 3: then maybe Mac in particular, who is a fan of
- 35:44Speaker 3: the more Kyle Kolinsky dark woke angle is you know,
- 35:47Speaker 3: Trump is so crazy? Is the main dem electorate gonna
- 35:51Speaker 3: just want someone that's exceedingly normal now go back to
- 35:54Speaker 3: the normal. Or do they want someone like Abdul who
- 35:58Speaker 3: is going to be in but for the things that
- 36:01Speaker 3: that the left likes. And I guess that is the
- 36:04Speaker 3: main question for the demolectorate.
- 36:06Speaker 6: Well, I mean that's you know, I don't want to
- 36:08Speaker 6: make this sort of like my wish casting, but I
- 36:12Speaker 6: think right now the energy is more in the Abdual lane.
- 36:15Speaker 6: I think this is why you're seeing sort of a
- 36:17Speaker 6: left insurgency all these DSA candidates that are winning, and
- 36:20Speaker 6: you know, you can see candidates that are outspent you know,
- 36:22Speaker 6: ten to one, twenty to one in some cases. The
- 36:24Speaker 6: media is sort of you know, stacked against them, the
- 36:27Speaker 6: demo establishment is stacked against them, and they're still winning
- 36:30Speaker 6: some of these races or at least cutting it, you know,
- 36:32Speaker 6: extremely close. So the energy right now is definitely in
- 36:35Speaker 6: the dark woke camp. The question then, is the twenty
- 36:38Speaker 6: twenty eight Democratic presidential primary rules around are And I've
- 36:42Speaker 6: seen this from you know, even some of among like
- 36:44Speaker 6: family and friends who are sort of more like standard
- 36:46Speaker 6: liberals or whatever progressive lips maybe, And I do like
- 36:50Speaker 6: it asof makes me a little bit afraid because I
- 36:53Speaker 6: hear them and they're like, oh, you know, he's good looking,
- 36:55Speaker 6: he's very well spoken, like he has this calming effect,
- 36:58Speaker 6: like I could see somebody like that being a real
- 37:02Speaker 6: threat to the left.
- 37:03Speaker 3: And he's pulling very high Maac just as yeah, he
- 37:05Speaker 3: has on it, like he continues to be putting up
- 37:08Speaker 3: numbers in the polls and putting out some sort of
- 37:10Speaker 3: liberal pheromones that people really can't describe on any specific
- 37:15Speaker 3: policy level other than, oh, Dan, this guy got on
- 37:19Speaker 3: some got on some disosterone. He got jacked up, and
- 37:22Speaker 3: he's looking good in these low angles, and you know,
- 37:25Speaker 3: I want to feel good about my politician again. And
- 37:29Speaker 3: and he's he's virile in a way that you know,
- 37:32Speaker 3: we had Biden before. So I don't know that's true.
- 37:35Speaker 5: No, I it does. It concerns me.
- 37:38Speaker 6: I hope the energy stays till twenty twenty eight, but
- 37:40Speaker 6: I'm not fully convinced.
- 37:41Speaker 5: It was kind of a problem for Betso against Ted
- 37:44Speaker 5: Cruz back in a twenty eighteen and that like he
- 37:47Speaker 5: tried to be on the one hand Kennedy esque, right,
- 37:50Speaker 5: was like Kennedy maxing and then on the other hand
- 37:53Speaker 5: was trying to go gloves off against Trump, and you
- 37:57Speaker 5: just I think you really do just have to pick
- 37:58Speaker 5: a lane otherwise people sniff it out. It depends on
- 38:02Speaker 5: who you're running against. Like if it's a if you're
- 38:05Speaker 5: up against a weak Republican candidate or crazy republic whatever,
- 38:09Speaker 5: you can start or super maga Republican candidate, you can
- 38:12Speaker 5: start pulling some of that that off in a way
- 38:14Speaker 5: that's helpful. But I like, I don't know, I think
- 38:17Speaker 5: the evolution is to just go fully gloves off. That
- 38:21Speaker 5: seems to me where people are. But that is interesting
- 38:23Speaker 5: mac that like people normies you know, are watching this
- 38:26Speaker 5: and like I kind of like that.
- 38:27Speaker 6: I like the way, well and you are going to
- 38:29Speaker 6: It's gonna be the same ecosystem in twenty twenty eight
- 38:32Speaker 6: with the establishment and the media.
- 38:34Speaker 5: They're gonna pull out the same arguments.
- 38:35Speaker 6: Oh, you know, let's say abdual runs, Oh he's not electable,
- 38:38Speaker 6: like you know whatever, he sort of has this energy
- 38:42Speaker 6: in the Democratic voter base, but like he couldn't win
- 38:43Speaker 6: in a general election. They're gonna pull out the same
- 38:45Speaker 6: arguments that they did in twenty twenty and in twenty sixteen.
- 38:48Speaker 6: It's just going to come down to whether or not
- 38:50Speaker 6: the voter base falls for that. Again, wasn't Bedo's Vanity
- 38:56Speaker 6: fair cover Born to Run? Wasn't that the tag on
- 38:58Speaker 6: his cover? To give that tag to Natalie Harp her
- 39:02Speaker 6: chasing after the golf carts, I think that'd.
- 39:05Speaker 3: Be a great tag for her, Born to Run, Miss Natalie.
- 39:08Speaker 3: So that's so let's move on.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Mac.
- 39:14Speaker 3: I want you to react to this because, of course,
- 39:17Speaker 3: one of our main stays here on the show, Van Jones,
- 39:20Speaker 3: is out with a new fact check and collab with
- 39:23Speaker 3: one Noah Tishbe about all of this disinformation online about
- 39:30Speaker 3: Gaza and how the images are fake. And I will
- 39:32Speaker 3: say this video was made in the year of our Lord,
- 39:35Speaker 3: twenty twenty six, maybe a few years late.
- 39:38Speaker 5: Let's explain who Noah tish is.
- 39:40Speaker 3: By the way, Noah tishb is a like official Israeli propagandist.
- 39:46Speaker 3: She's like worked for Israeli PR and is ignoring my
- 39:52Speaker 3: invites to come on the show.
- 39:54Speaker 5: Let's take a listen. You're seeing right now did not happen.
- 39:57Speaker 5: This also didn't happen I'm here.
- 39:59Speaker 13: Then we now have this world where when you see
- 40:02Speaker 13: something on social media, you have to ask yourself the
- 40:05Speaker 13: question is is real? The people who want to divide,
- 40:08Speaker 13: who want to distract, who want to turn people against
- 40:10Speaker 13: each other, have super weapons to do so. Now, because
- 40:13Speaker 13: you know, somebody looks at their phone, they assume that
- 40:16Speaker 13: what they're seeing is real. I think that's why we
- 40:17Speaker 13: have to take a lot more seriously this information war,
- 40:20Speaker 13: because the twenty four hours, seven day a week battle
- 40:23Speaker 13: for the mind, it's the people who are on Twitch
- 40:26Speaker 13: and TikTok and all these other platforms. They're getting literally
- 40:30Speaker 13: millions and millions of views. And if you care about
- 40:33Speaker 13: backs your disadvantage. Even though the fringe media is terrible,
- 40:37Speaker 13: you have legacy media that's also terrible.
- 40:39Speaker 7: I'm falling for nonsense.
- 40:41Speaker 13: For instance, you know the picture that broke everybody's part
- 40:44Speaker 13: of the so called starving maybe turned out to not
- 40:46Speaker 13: be a starving child. They cut out the full image
- 40:50Speaker 13: that showed the sibling perfectly fine. That child at a
- 40:54Speaker 13: genetic issue, it was not being starved by Israel. So
- 40:57Speaker 13: when you have the mainstream media that is falling for
- 41:00Speaker 13: propaganda or promoting propaganda and won't apologize, and then you
- 41:04Speaker 13: have this fringe media that's massively bigger. It requires a
- 41:07Speaker 13: different approach to the information work.
- 41:09Speaker 9: Now this is literally about democracies as we know them.
- 41:12Speaker 5: We have to make sure that we verify everything.
- 41:14Speaker 13: That we see online and don't get hooked into this
- 41:17Speaker 13: dopament addiction that is going to damage us on Thank
- 41:21Speaker 13: you so much, Ben, thank you.
- 41:23Speaker 3: All right, one note before I get Max's reaction, They're like,
- 41:26Speaker 3: so we need to dispel all these rumors about starving children.
- 41:30Speaker 3: Let's do an inspiring music track. Let's do something like
- 41:33Speaker 3: uplifting Climbing the Mountain music track here. But so Mac,
- 41:37Speaker 3: let's let's fact check the fact checkers here. What what
- 41:41Speaker 3: are they getting wrong here?
- 41:43Speaker 5: Now?
- 41:43Speaker 6: In terms of the specific story that they were talking
- 41:46Speaker 6: about with the piece from the New York Times of
- 41:48Speaker 6: the child who was starving, they're getting at that in
- 41:51Speaker 6: the initial New York Times piece they didn't report that
- 41:54Speaker 6: the child also had other underlying conditions I think specifically
- 41:58Speaker 6: was cerebral palsy and this this specif case. But what
- 42:01Speaker 6: that ignores is that, yeah, when there's a famine, when
- 42:05Speaker 6: there's mass starvation or food shortages that are going on.
- 42:08Speaker 6: It is going to be the most vulnerable people within
- 42:10Speaker 6: society that suffer initially, that suffer the initial brunt of
- 42:15Speaker 6: that famine. And that child in the New York Times
- 42:17Speaker 6: piece was malnourished, right, And the data on this has
- 42:21Speaker 6: been well reported on, well documented. There was malnourishment in Gaza,
- 42:25Speaker 6: There was starvation in Gaza. Israel had an explicit policy
- 42:28Speaker 6: of restricting aid from getting in it to Gaza from
- 42:31Speaker 6: the beginning of the genocide. I mean they openly declared,
- 42:34Speaker 6: We're going to cut off the food, the fuel, the water,
- 42:36Speaker 6: the electricity. It's an entire population that we're attempting to punish. Here,
- 42:39Speaker 6: none of this is like a secret. But again, the
- 42:42Speaker 6: purpose here in this whole piece from Van Jones is
- 42:45Speaker 6: to get you to doubt everything, to mistrust everything. The
- 42:49Speaker 6: only people that you can trust are the official lions
- 42:52Speaker 6: from the IDF, or from Benjamin et Yahoo, or from
- 42:55Speaker 6: the Trump administration or the Biden administration what was happening
- 42:58Speaker 6: under him. You know, you can only trust these official sources. Also,
- 43:02Speaker 6: you were talking about a guy.
- 43:03Speaker 5: Like Van Jones.
- 43:03Speaker 6: This is the same guy who was on Bill Maher
- 43:06Speaker 6: making a joke about dead Gaza babies right and laughing
- 43:10Speaker 6: about it gleefully. So you know, to some extent, you know,
- 43:12Speaker 6: I don't know if it's a money thing. I don't
- 43:14Speaker 6: know if it's just like an ideological thing for him.
- 43:16Speaker 6: But he's truly a psychopath when it comes to when
- 43:19Speaker 6: it comes to this issue.
- 43:22Speaker 5: Yeah, Griffin, do we have the ideological drift of Van Jones.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Yeah, let's let's let's let's take a let's take a
- 43:30Speaker 3: look back at nineteen ninety three Van Jones for a
- 43:33Speaker 3: second here to see where the psychopath starts. Maybe they
- 43:37Speaker 3: never maybe it was always this way, students could do that.
- 43:41Speaker 14: In nineteen sixty. In nineteen ninety three, we have the
- 43:50Speaker 14: United Building. But death Kid, God's kid black people do
- 43:57Speaker 14: nothing wrong, gets sick and will just if all they've
- 44:00Speaker 14: done wrong.
- 44:01Speaker 9: If we get close that death kid generation.
- 44:06Speaker 14: Another Jepanese American term, and all like job we should
- 44:10Speaker 14: all get haircuts and get regular jobs and.
- 44:12Speaker 7: Give it up.
- 44:14Speaker 3: We should all get haircuts, get regular jobs, and give
- 44:17Speaker 3: it up. So I guess that's what happened. He's being honest.
- 44:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not a bad point. This would have been
- 44:24Speaker 5: around two thousand and nine, was singled out by Glenn
- 44:27Speaker 5: Beck back in his Fox News days, early tea party days,
- 44:31Speaker 5: because Obama had hired him. I believe as a green
- 44:34Speaker 5: jobs are and Van Jones's past radical activism came to
- 44:40Speaker 5: the forefront so much so that he lost that job
- 44:43Speaker 5: in the Obama White House, and now he's landed at CNN,
- 44:48Speaker 5: got a haircut, got a job. To Griffin's point, and
- 44:51Speaker 5: you know, the frustrating thing about revisitation of that New
- 44:55Speaker 5: York Times story is that nobody really disputes it was
- 44:58Speaker 5: fair for the New York Times update the story and
- 45:01Speaker 5: say the little boy had cerebral palsy. I think everybody
- 45:05Speaker 5: understands that's relevant information, and it just underlines the case
- 45:10Speaker 5: maclaid out, which is that where there are vulnerable populations
- 45:14Speaker 5: with people suffering, those people can suffer even worse. They
- 45:19Speaker 5: might sometimes bear the brunt, and people who are disabled
- 45:22Speaker 5: might sometimes or might always bear the brunt when there
- 45:25Speaker 5: are food shortages. So that is as a hill to
- 45:29Speaker 5: die on. To create that as your centerpiece to make
- 45:33Speaker 5: this case about propaganda, I think it's really really sick,
- 45:38Speaker 5: just a it's a really gross thing to do, and
- 45:41Speaker 5: like there's.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Like it's also, like I said at the beginning, of
- 45:44Speaker 3: this segment. It's crazy this is a twenty twenty six
- 45:47Speaker 3: video because you could easily see something like this in
- 45:49Speaker 3: November of twenty twenty three where they could make that case.
- 45:53Speaker 3: But if you were trying to actually do good PR
- 45:55Speaker 3: for Israel now, it would be, Oh, it's that damn
- 45:59Speaker 3: Beebe and Yahoo that we got to get out of
- 46:01Speaker 3: here and then everything will get fixed, Like, don't worry,
- 46:04Speaker 3: elections are coming soon. Yeah, Israel did some bad stuff
- 46:08Speaker 3: and we all agree on that, and it's time to
- 46:10Speaker 3: get rid of this government. That would be the effective
- 46:13Speaker 3: Israeli PR move at this point, which is also rife
- 46:18Speaker 3: with you know, inaccuracies, because the majority of the other
- 46:22Speaker 3: political leaders in Israel share very similar strategies towards handling Gaza.
- 46:27Speaker 3: So I always wonder, like with Israel that has access
- 46:31Speaker 3: to unlimited resources to create PR, why they choose these
- 46:35Speaker 3: people like Noah Tishbe to do these things? Why do
- 46:38Speaker 3: they pick these untalented, dead eyed people to add this
- 46:43Speaker 3: liberal sheene with no facts and sort of just an
- 46:46Speaker 3: underlying base of victimization And you should just be on
- 46:51Speaker 3: my side. And I think it's because you know, they
- 46:56Speaker 3: see themselves and people like Noah, like they can't fath
- 47:00Speaker 3: what good pr for Israel would be. They see themselves
- 47:04Speaker 3: in these terrible actors, and so those are the people
- 47:08Speaker 3: they continue to put out. Your Michael rappaports a lot
- 47:11Speaker 3: of these disgusting Twitter accounts like who's that one guy
- 47:16Speaker 3: in New York Mac that we always uh make funakab.
- 47:20Speaker 3: They see that they see themselves in these people, and
- 47:22Speaker 3: they view these people as the heroes to push their movement,
- 47:28Speaker 3: and it just goes to show how just muddy and
- 47:31Speaker 3: confused they are about how the world sees them. Now.
- 47:35Speaker 6: Well, to your point, Griffin, I think there is an
- 47:37Speaker 6: element of it where for I mean, the vast majority
- 47:41Speaker 6: of the last however, many you know, decades here in
- 47:43Speaker 6: the United States, Israel didn't really have to do much
- 47:47Speaker 6: work in terms of, you know, propaganda to convince Americans
- 47:51Speaker 6: to uh support them. It was always just sort of
- 47:53Speaker 6: like the baseline, right you just said, universal consensus within
- 47:57Speaker 6: the upper echelons in Washington, d C. You know, within Congress,
- 48:01Speaker 6: within the media. It didn't become a central thing that
- 48:05Speaker 6: a lot of Americans thought about until you know, post
- 48:08Speaker 6: October seventh and this this genocide in Gaza and post
- 48:12Speaker 6: October seventh. So now you have this new reality where
- 48:15Speaker 6: it's a live streamed genocide. We're getting countless thousands of
- 48:18Speaker 6: images videos that are on every especially young people's social
- 48:21Speaker 6: media feeds. Like it's just so overwhelming that there is
- 48:25Speaker 6: no talented propagandist who could overcome that. Like there there's
- 48:30Speaker 6: nothing to be done at this point except for the
- 48:32Speaker 6: strategies that we've seen Israel use, which is censorship, right,
- 48:36Speaker 6: going after college students, trying to blacklist them, you know,
- 48:39Speaker 6: sicking the police on them, as we saw under the
- 48:41Speaker 6: Biden administration as well in these encampments, you know, So
- 48:43Speaker 6: it's censorship. It's these new programs spending millions of dollars
- 48:46Speaker 6: to influence chat GPT and how it responds to Israel
- 48:50Speaker 6: and flooding the Internet with you know, slop AI written
- 48:53Speaker 6: you know, Israeli propaganda pieces so that AI will pick
- 48:56Speaker 6: up on that for its information ecosystem. Like it's strategies
- 49:00Speaker 6: like this, and you know, as we just saw from
- 49:02Speaker 6: Van Jones, trying to get you to doubt everything that
- 49:04Speaker 6: you see because they they basically have nothing else that
- 49:07Speaker 6: they that they can reach for. At this point, there
- 49:09Speaker 6: is no convincing case that can be genuinely made.
- 49:13Speaker 5: That may be true, but it is still remarkable to
- 49:15Speaker 5: me that they're doubling down as they see the numbers
- 49:19Speaker 5: go down. Yeah, like they're not changing one bit of
- 49:23Speaker 5: the strategy.
- 49:24Speaker 6: Well, that's another aspect of it, and I think we've
- 49:28Speaker 6: we've seen this in some of the recent races, like
- 49:30Speaker 6: with Abdua l sa'id Is. If you guys remember DROPSI
- 49:33Speaker 6: News reported, I think it was maybe a year ago
- 49:35Speaker 6: or more at this point that there was like an
- 49:37Speaker 6: internal study that was done within Israel where they were
- 49:40Speaker 6: looking at what are the most effective ways that we
- 49:43Speaker 6: could sort of convince people into a more pro Israel direction,
- 49:46Speaker 6: And the number one thing that they found was increasing Islamophobia.
- 49:50Speaker 5: Right.
- 49:50Speaker 6: That was what they thought was the most effective strategy
- 49:53Speaker 6: to sort of win people back to their side, was
- 49:55Speaker 6: to push Islamophobia to sort of overwhelm the Israel criticism.
- 49:59Speaker 6: And I think we have seen a massive, massive spike
- 50:02Speaker 6: in Islamophobia against people like Abduell Sae. It are just
- 50:06Speaker 6: generally in the United States with the low Lumer types
- 50:09Speaker 6: and the Randy Fine types, you know, that's become significantly
- 50:13Speaker 6: amplified over the last couple of years. With the emergence
- 50:15Speaker 6: of more israel Critical and Muslim candidates across the country.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think like not to give the Israeli
- 50:22Speaker 3: pr more tips other but like you know, I said,
- 50:25Speaker 3: a you guys should come out against nan Yahoo and
- 50:28Speaker 3: be like they're not even doing any of the look
- 50:30Speaker 3: we're handing out aid in Gaza, like we're doing like
- 50:33Speaker 3: any of those like propaganda bits either. In fact, there's
- 50:36Speaker 3: reporting that there's currently a water crisis happening in Gaza.
- 50:40Speaker 3: People are struggling to find drinking water. They're having to
- 50:43Speaker 3: choose with either to cook with it, drink with or
- 50:45Speaker 3: bathe with it, and they can only choose one out
- 50:47Speaker 3: of the three. So this like could suffering continues. They're
- 50:50Speaker 3: still bombing tents on what seems like a weekly basis,
- 50:54Speaker 3: and so yeah, they don't have any any video evidence
- 50:59Speaker 3: to show the situation is improving one bit. So we're
- 51:03Speaker 3: kind of just frozen in place until these people are
- 51:07Speaker 3: I guess laughed out of the room, but Van Jones
- 51:10Speaker 3: is still in the room.
- 51:11Speaker 6: Well, And to your point, one final thing on that, Griffin,
- 51:14Speaker 6: the most effective Israeli propaganda right now is the fact
- 51:17Speaker 6: that the media is no longer talking about it. Right,
- 51:20Speaker 6: there is no mainstream media coverage of you know, the
- 51:23Speaker 6: nearly daily attacks that are happening in Gaza. Israel still
- 51:26Speaker 6: bombing Gaza, there's still you know, they blew up a
- 51:28Speaker 6: medical facility just a couple of weeks ago. You didn't
- 51:30Speaker 6: see that on Cenna, and you didn't see that on MS.
- 51:32Speaker 6: Now we're on Fox News or whatever else. The media
- 51:34Speaker 6: has largely just dropped it as an issue, which I
- 51:37Speaker 6: think has in some ways, in a dark way, helped
- 51:40Speaker 6: Israel because it's not such a central focus for a
- 51:43Speaker 6: lot of people anymore.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, Well that'll do it for Van Jones.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Get a suit, get a real job. I think that's
- 51:51Speaker 3: still my note for Van.
- 51:53Speaker 5: He does sound like Sager.
- 51:57Speaker 3: All right, Well let's move on to my favorite state
- 52:00Speaker 3: in the nation, Florida.
- 52:03Speaker 5: Well, we wanted to bring you an update in a
- 52:04Speaker 5: race that we've been tracking for more than a year.
- 52:06Speaker 5: So we're joined once again by Aaron Baker, who actually
- 52:09Speaker 5: decided to primary Randy Fine more than a year ago
- 52:13Speaker 5: from the right erin welcome back, appreciate you for being here.
- 52:18Speaker 7: Always a pleasure to be here, Thank you for having
- 52:20Speaker 7: me back.
- 52:21Speaker 5: Yeah, this was such an interesting race. And Ryan and
- 52:23Speaker 5: I interviewed you about a year ago now just about
- 52:26Speaker 5: your decision to get into this race, because there was
- 52:28Speaker 5: something very interesting happening on the right, and Florida became
- 52:31Speaker 5: a place where not even just your district, but Florida
- 52:34Speaker 5: the entire state during this primary cycle became a place
- 52:37Speaker 5: where some of this was getting hashed out in some
- 52:40Speaker 5: responsible ways and some irresponsible ways. So let's start with
- 52:43Speaker 5: your race, because I think you ended up at thirteen
- 52:46Speaker 5: and a half percent in the race between Randy Fine
- 52:50Speaker 5: and Dan Bilzerian. It turned into a little bit of
- 52:52Speaker 5: a circus erin so just catch us up, remind viewers
- 52:55Speaker 5: why you decided to primary Randy Fine from the right.
- 52:58Speaker 5: When you launched, the Ron War had not yet happened,
- 53:01Speaker 5: so that was a major update. But what were you
- 53:05Speaker 5: thinking when you got into the race and what was
- 53:07Speaker 5: it like running as a Republican against Rady Fine.
- 53:11Speaker 7: Well, I mean I got into the race because I
- 53:13Speaker 7: thought he was a genocidal maniac that needed to be
- 53:16Speaker 7: taken out of our government. And I still believe that
- 53:19Speaker 7: and that's not going to change. I mean, you don't
- 53:22Speaker 7: change the spots on a leopard. He's I mean, he
- 53:26Speaker 7: is who he is and his personality is not going
- 53:29Speaker 7: to change. I didn't think it was a fit for
- 53:30Speaker 7: this congressional district. However, the voters thought otherwise.
- 53:35Speaker 5: And how did that change once Bilzarian got into the race?
- 53:39Speaker 5: What was And you had been running for a while
- 53:41Speaker 5: by the time he got into the race, and you
- 53:43Speaker 5: were making this case against Randy Fines foreign policy in
- 53:46Speaker 5: a fairly reasonable way. Bilzarian gets into the race, what happened?
- 53:51Speaker 7: Yeah, So if we go back in history a little bit,
- 53:54Speaker 7: so I fouled my paperwork in April, right after finding
- 53:58Speaker 7: one the special election. Dan told me back in December
- 54:03Speaker 7: of last year, and we spoke for you know, a
- 54:07Speaker 7: good long while, and he said, you know, after the
- 54:10Speaker 7: first of the years, let's catch up and I'll be
- 54:14Speaker 7: more than happy to see what I can do to
- 54:16Speaker 7: help you. And that was what I thought was going
- 54:19Speaker 7: to be the plan going forward. And then we were
- 54:23Speaker 7: never able to reconnect. And then I get a call
- 54:25Speaker 7: in late March or maybe mid March, and Dan says, well,
- 54:30Speaker 7: you didn't raise enough money. And I wanted to say, well, no, duh,
- 54:34Speaker 7: you didn't help me like you said you were going to.
- 54:38Speaker 7: He said, so I'm going to run myself. And I thought, okay, well,
- 54:42Speaker 7: you know, you need to get on a plane and
- 54:44Speaker 7: you need to get your butt here right now. And
- 54:47Speaker 7: at that point I even offered, you know, okay, if
- 54:50Speaker 7: you're serious about this, I'll take you around, I know,
- 54:53Speaker 7: every square into this district. I'll take you to every
- 54:55Speaker 7: place that you need to go. And I if he
- 55:00Speaker 7: had wanted to run a serious campaign, you know, clean
- 55:05Speaker 7: up your look a little bit, you know, get a haircut,
- 55:07Speaker 7: you know, look like you did back in twenty thirteen
- 55:10Speaker 7: when you were a movie extra. You know, maybe okay,
- 55:14Speaker 7: you stand a chance, and you've got to You've got
- 55:16Speaker 7: to realize who your electorate is. The average Republican voter
- 55:21Speaker 7: in this congressional district is fifty one years old. So
- 55:26Speaker 7: you've really got to tone down what you're saying. You
- 55:29Speaker 7: can say I don't want defensive or you know, I
- 55:31Speaker 7: don't want offensive weapons, and I don't want any financial
- 55:35Speaker 7: aid to Israel. But you can't say that I will
- 55:38Speaker 7: take up arms and start exterminating Israelis that those you know,
- 55:43Speaker 7: you're not going to win a congressional race like that,
- 55:46Speaker 7: no matter how much money you have. So you know,
- 55:48Speaker 7: he came in like a bullet of China shot and
- 55:50Speaker 7: thought he didn't need to listen to anyone. No campaign
- 55:54Speaker 7: events until the last day of early voting, which was
- 55:59Speaker 7: the Saturday, which was last Saturday. And he shows up
- 56:02Speaker 7: to a fishback event and you know, thirty forty to
- 56:07Speaker 7: fifty people there and stands around hands out free tacos
- 56:10Speaker 7: for half an hour and then disappears, you know, at
- 56:15Speaker 7: least on election day, show up somewhere. I mean, on
- 56:17Speaker 7: election Day, I was at eight different pulling locations, you know,
- 56:21Speaker 7: still trying to get voters, talking to voters, and you know,
- 56:25Speaker 7: because I believed based on what we had experienced door knocking,
- 56:30Speaker 7: and we knocked on about thirty thousand doors, wow my campaign,
- 56:35Speaker 7: and we had a very positive response. I mean, there
- 56:39Speaker 7: was a very anti fine sentiment out there. It's just
- 56:44Speaker 7: a matter of, you know, who has the most money,
- 56:47Speaker 7: who sends out the most palm cards or most postcards
- 56:51Speaker 7: in the mailboxes, and who you know, puts out the
- 56:55Speaker 7: most television ads, and that seems to be what people
- 56:59Speaker 7: listen to. They're you know, they don't remember, Oh, hey,
- 57:03Speaker 7: I met this Errand guy, you know, three months ago
- 57:06Speaker 7: when he came and knocked on my door. They remember,
- 57:09Speaker 7: you know, the postcard that they got yesterday or the
- 57:12Speaker 7: TV commercial that they saw this morning on Fox News. So,
- 57:16Speaker 7: you know, I would tell any anyone that wants to
- 57:19Speaker 7: go up against an incumbent, you better have five at
- 57:23Speaker 7: least three million dollars in the bank in order to
- 57:26Speaker 7: make a serious run at it. But it all needs
- 57:28Speaker 7: to be a consolidated effort. You don't need five people
- 57:32Speaker 7: in the race like we had. You know, you need
- 57:35Speaker 7: to be able to get behind that one candidate and say, Okay,
- 57:38Speaker 7: this is our candidate and this is our path going forward,
- 57:41Speaker 7: and we're going to attack airwaves, We're going to attack mailboxes,
- 57:45Speaker 7: We're going to knock on doors for one specific candidate.
- 57:49Speaker 7: When you start to split the vote, then it just
- 57:53Speaker 7: it muddies everything up and people are like, well, I
- 57:55Speaker 7: don't know if I should vote for Dan or if
- 57:57Speaker 7: I should vote for Airon. Well let me just oh
- 58:00Speaker 7: with what I know, let me just both you know,
- 58:03Speaker 7: bang bang fang, and so you know, then you get
- 58:06Speaker 7: the results that he had.
- 58:07Speaker 3: So Aaron, I do really respect you for taking a
- 58:11Speaker 3: stand against Randy Fine's genocidal rhetoric, his islamophobia. But with
- 58:18Speaker 3: Dan Baalzarian. It seems like the opposite side of the field.
- 58:22Speaker 3: I'm reading a tweet from just July twenty eighth that
- 58:24Speaker 3: says Jews are the problem. Everyone's fear of saying it
- 58:28Speaker 3: out loud is what allows it to continue. So when
- 58:32Speaker 3: you say that, oh, well, he just needed a haircut,
- 58:34Speaker 3: he needed to look a little bit more like the
- 58:35Speaker 3: Hollywood extra, was that really the main issue? Or was
- 58:39Speaker 3: this race that decided between a candidate that hates Muslims
- 58:43Speaker 3: and a candidate that seems to hate Jews.
- 58:47Speaker 7: Well, and that's that's the whole point, you know. I mean,
- 58:50Speaker 7: he needed to if he if he were going to
- 58:53Speaker 7: get in this race, he needed to not say any
- 58:56Speaker 7: of that stupid stuff that he says. But you know,
- 59:01Speaker 7: he just can't help himself. So if you can't help yourself,
- 59:04Speaker 7: then you need to get behind one consolidated candidate, which ideally,
- 59:08Speaker 7: you know would have been me because I ran agaspying before.
- 59:13Speaker 7: So I mean it made sense.
- 59:17Speaker 6: Yeah, what what did you make of sort of you're
- 59:19Speaker 6: talking about like the mailers that are going out advertisements.
- 59:22Speaker 6: What did you make of sort of the media ecosystem?
- 59:24Speaker 6: What was Randy Fine talking about? What was his campaign
- 59:28Speaker 6: running on And how big of a role do you
- 59:30Speaker 6: think that the Iran War and the subsequent inflation and
- 59:34Speaker 6: cost of living as a result of that in Israel
- 59:37Speaker 6: in general, how how big of a role did that
- 59:39Speaker 6: play in this election?
- 59:40Speaker 7: It didn't play any role at all. I mean people
- 59:45Speaker 7: at the end of the day, people didn't seem to care.
- 59:48Speaker 7: I mean, you have twenty or thirty percent of the
- 59:49Speaker 7: electorate that care about affordability, which is what we talked
- 59:53Speaker 7: about NonStop, or what I talked about NonStop. So you know,
- 59:58Speaker 7: I mean there was forty three percent the electorate that
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: wanted an alternative. But you know, forty three percent of
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: the electorate is not enough, and it needs to be,
- 1:00:07Speaker 7: Like I said, it needs to be a consolidated effort.
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: And Randy Fine placed the victim card the entire time.
- 1:00:13Speaker 7: If you look back to you know the picture that
- 1:00:16Speaker 7: he posted of someone that had vandalized one of the
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: signs spray painted a squastica on it. And the day
- 1:00:24Speaker 7: after that news story came out, I called the supervisor
- 1:00:26Speaker 7: of Elections in Flagler County and I said, where did
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: this picture come from? This picture cannot exist because I
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: was the one that found the campaign sign, and I
- 1:00:35Speaker 7: was the one that went and got an election official
- 1:00:37Speaker 7: to take the campaign sign down. And so then I
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: was talking to one of the reporters at the Daytona
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: Beach News Journal, which he followed up with the Supervisor
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: of Elections. Well, it turns out they put the sign
- 1:00:50Speaker 7: back in the ground in order to take a picture
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: to send to Randy find So, I mean, you know,
- 1:00:56Speaker 7: he's a victim. One oh one. Oh you know, look
- 1:00:59Speaker 7: at me, poor me, poor me. Look at what they're
- 1:01:02Speaker 7: doing to my campaign signs and it's staged.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: Is incredible?
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: What what is appealing in any way, shape or form
- 1:01:10Speaker 6: about Randy Fine in this in this district? I mean what, like,
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: how can a guy like this win an election?
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:01:17Speaker 7: She got me beat on that one?
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Is it Trump? Is it the Trump endorsement?
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean just the just the Trump endorsement. I
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: mean Trump won this district bout thirty points. So you know,
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: Randy Fine has underperformed Trump at every single stage. Uh
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: you know, I I other than Trump. That's that's what
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: is His signs say Trump endorsed, Trump indorsed, Trump indorsed,
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: Trump indors buying for Congress. And that's how he opens
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: every uh, you know, every speech that he gives, and
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: you know he has absolutely zero respect for the people here,
- 1:01:56Speaker 7: which I had a lot of help behind the scenes
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: from elected officials, but the officials didn't want to come
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: out and say, oh, Aaron, you know, we'll support you publicly.
- 1:02:05Speaker 7: You know, they're like, we can't stand this guy just
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: because of the way he acts. You know, he walks
- 1:02:10Speaker 7: into the building in Flagler County and you knows, snubs
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: his nose at all of the county commissioners and they're like, well,
- 1:02:20Speaker 7: why are we supporting this guy? You know, we'll be
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: more than happy to help you behind the scenes, but
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: no one wants to come out publicly for fear of retribution.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: And I get it, right, Yeah, that makes sense. And
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: I guess let's say a hypothetically, wave of magic one,
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: you had three to five million dollars running against Randy Fine,
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: and your argument that you were making was amplified, and
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: you had the money to go make this argument to
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: more voters, have the conversation on more TV ads and
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: mailers and that sort of thing. Can you just take
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: us into what those conversations were like, because you mentioned
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: there is an anti Fine sentiment but I'm also just
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: curious as someone from the right saying, we shouldn't talking
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: like this, we shouldn't be thinking like this, we shouldn't
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: continue to send all of this aid. Did you find
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: receptive audiences when you're having those conversations in person? Like,
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: we're Republican voters, and I imagine because you got thirteen
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: point five percent of the vote, some people were like,
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: hell yeah, getting behind you. This is insane. What was
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: that undercurrent? Like, like, how were people thinking about this
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: on the right?
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: I mean when I would talk to when I would
- 1:03:28Speaker 7: speak to an audience, nine times out of ten they
- 1:03:31Speaker 7: would say, Aaron, we're you know, we're behind you one
- 1:03:33Speaker 7: hundred percent. You know, we agree with everything you're saying that.
- 1:03:38Speaker 7: You know, the affordability is a major issue. We agree
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: that social security has to be fixed in the next Congress.
- 1:03:44Speaker 7: And these are things that Randy Fin's not talking about.
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: He's talking about I'm Trump endorsed, I'm Trump endorsed, I'm
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: Trump endorsed. Well, good luck after Trump's not here anymore.
- 1:03:53Speaker 7: I have no idea what he's going to do and
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: what about on Israel? It was really kind of a
- 1:04:01Speaker 7: non issue, and I think from Dan's perspective, it turned
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: off more voters than than it helped with him. If
- 1:04:08Speaker 7: he had simply stuck to a message about, you know,
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: kind of down the middle, about affordability, you know, and
- 1:04:16Speaker 7: addressed it in a point of foreign aid and you know,
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: helping seniors with Medicare costs and making sure that seniors
- 1:04:26Speaker 7: did a cost of living increase every year, that would
- 1:04:29Speaker 7: have been a much more receptive message, because you know,
- 1:04:31Speaker 7: that's what I was saying. And basically he got about
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: four percent more than me with you know, millions of
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: dollars that he spent, so you know I was able
- 1:04:39Speaker 7: to do the same the same thing, trying to run
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: not far right, not extreme far other right, but you know,
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: kind of down the center. So to your point, I
- 1:04:52Speaker 7: think that if I had five million dollars, it would
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: have been a very easy race.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: So, Aaron, you mentioned a little bit the circus of
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Dan Bulsarian showing up to a James Fishback campaign event,
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: and I wanted your reaction to that as well. Now,
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: of course, James Fishback is known as the Groyper candidate.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: He goes around talking to young man about goy slop.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: He was referring to his black opponent as Byron and
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: he was going around attacking OnlyFans creators, saying that he
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: was going to tax them and give money to teachers.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: He had what felt like an organic youth movement on
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: the ground. He drew a lot of crowds, but pulling
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: up some of the results here he got third place.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: He got about ten point five percent of the vote,
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: coming in third behind j Collins and Byron Donalds, who
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: actually won. What is your reaction to those results, Like,
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: what does that tell you about the Florida electorate.
- 1:06:00Speaker 7: Did a lot of different events with James. Before James announced,
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: the two of us sat down together out of Starbucks
- 1:06:06Speaker 7: and talked about, you know, his candidacy and my candidacy,
- 1:06:11Speaker 7: and at that time I was supporting Jay Collins, and
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: I you know, I told him I supporting Jay Collins
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: and well, you know, if anything changes, you know, keep
- 1:06:21Speaker 7: me in mind. And that's kind of where we left it.
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: And then Jay Collins came out with this nonsense about
- 1:06:27Speaker 7: you know, you can't say this, and you can't say this,
- 1:06:30Speaker 7: and some of his kind of factual things behind the
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: scenes about he has two kids, well he actually has three.
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: Some of those things didn't set well with me, so
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: it was very easy transition for me to then support James. However,
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: in about April or May, I saw that it was
- 1:06:54Speaker 7: going to need to be a consolidated effort against Byron.
- 1:06:57Speaker 7: And I was with Paul Renner at an event in
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: Saint Augustine, and you know why, I don't ask Paul,
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: you know, this has to be some type of consolidated effort.
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: And and no one would put on their big boy
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: pants and you know, take one for the team. At
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: that point, they all thought, well, you know, we're just
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: gonna run our campaign. And it didn't work. The only
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: way for to defeat Byron Donaldson the one hundred million
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: dollars or two hundred million dollars or how many ever
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: bazillion dollars he has in the bank now was going
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: to have it was It needed to be a consolidated effort,
- 1:07:34Speaker 7: and it wasn't happening.
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: Outside the consolidation, though, isn't there a moral character question
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: to these candidates. I mean, he's been blatantly racist. You know,
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: he's saying things like goy slop. I mean, he did
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: have his stance about that was anti Israel that you know,
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: connected to the youth. But did you not have any
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: moral character concerns about either of these guys?
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: Not really. I mean, you know, I think that James's
- 1:08:01Speaker 7: heart was in it for the right reasons, and I
- 1:08:04Speaker 7: think certainly Paul Renter's heart was in it for the
- 1:08:08Speaker 7: right reasons. And you know, Jay Collins to a certain extent,
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: you know, his heart was in it for the right reasons.
- 1:08:15Speaker 7: But they needed to all sit down in the room
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: and figure out you know, Okay, I'm going to be governor,
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: and I'm going to be lieutenant governor, and I'm going
- 1:08:21Speaker 7: to have this role in the administration. So you know,
- 1:08:24Speaker 7: a lot of that rhetoric that happens in campaigns is
- 1:08:28Speaker 7: just that, and you know, it happens in every campaign. Now,
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: I mean to some a little more extreme than others. Yeah,
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: but you know, at the same time, I think it
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: shows that Byron's going to have a little bit of
- 1:08:43Speaker 7: a tough time in the general election. I mean, most
- 1:08:46Speaker 7: of the polls right now have him and Jolly virtually
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: tied in the state that you know, Governor DeSantis won
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: by twenty points. So we're going to see how all
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: that plays out.
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: I suppose just falling up on the fish point, I
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: see him, you know, he's he's not Dan. Bill's aarian certainly,
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: and I've actually known him. I talked about this on
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: the show earlier this week for a long time and
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: saw like basically a total personality transplant, which I found
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: very odd. Like I've known him for probably five years,
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: and as soon as he got into the race, he
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: started to Griffin's point talking about goyslop and by Rone
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: and all of those different things. And I guess, I, seriously,
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: what you're saying about taking down Byron Donalds, who's a
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: you know, not not the ideal candidate for Conservatives to
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: represent Florida, no question about it. But I guess then
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: it's like, at what cost do you try to defeat
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: Byron Donalds and be you know, potentially David Jolly? Is
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: it worth? Maybe? Is it worth? For my perspective? The
- 1:09:46Speaker 5: answer would be no, like stoking racial resentments and using
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: terms like goys slop? How did how did you think
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: about that?
- 1:09:55Speaker 7: Aaron? Well, it was I guess You're your point would
- 1:10:04Speaker 7: be it's almost a toned down version of Dan where
- 1:10:06Speaker 7: Dan came in like a wrecking ball and James came
- 1:10:10Speaker 7: in to try to appeal to some of that's you know,
- 1:10:14Speaker 7: over thirty five crowd, if you will, you know, at
- 1:10:20Speaker 7: what point is is the argument worth it or is
- 1:10:23Speaker 7: the you know, the rage bait click worth it. That's
- 1:10:29Speaker 7: you know, that's a million dollar question. I mean, our
- 1:10:31Speaker 7: race between me, Dan and Randy certainly turned very ugly
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: at the end, and you know that's not something that
- 1:10:40Speaker 7: I'm going to participate in. I'm not gonna you know,
- 1:10:43Speaker 7: say anything that's not true. You know, I'll call you
- 1:10:46Speaker 7: out for saying stupid stuff. And I certainly called Dan
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: out for posting the wrong early voting dates and you know,
- 1:10:54Speaker 7: just doing stupid stuff and not doing any campaign events
- 1:10:57Speaker 7: or doing scheduling campaign events outside the district. But I
- 1:11:02Speaker 7: think James tried to tried to craft a message that
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: could possibly appeal to the over thirty five crowd, but
- 1:11:12Speaker 7: just really didn't that much.
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: And some people would say that as like sneaky trying
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: to sneak in bigotry. Did you have those concerns?
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: I just kind of rolled with the punches, and you know,
- 1:11:27Speaker 7: most of the time, Yeah, there were certain things that
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: James said along the way, and you know, I would
- 1:11:32Speaker 7: be sitting in the room and he was certainly playing
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: to the audience. You know, if you for example, we
- 1:11:42Speaker 7: were in Tampa and there were the seating capacity in
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: the room was six hundred and the room was completely
- 1:11:47Speaker 7: full and the fire marshal wouldn't let people in, so
- 1:11:50Speaker 7: I know that there were at least seven hundred and
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: fifty people there. But you know, I mean, he's really
- 1:11:55Speaker 7: playing to the audience, you know when he talks about
- 1:11:57Speaker 7: goy slot and and all and all that, and you know,
- 1:12:02Speaker 7: it's it's all in it's all in good fun. I
- 1:12:05Speaker 7: do think that James has a future in the Republican Party,
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: and I think that you know, he has a huge
- 1:12:11Speaker 7: following now he received one hundred and seventy thousand votes.
- 1:12:15Speaker 7: That's nothing to sneeze at.
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: Okay, last I was gonna say last last question on that, Aaron,
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: I'm sorry to keep doing the fish back there. It's
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: just when you say it's all in good fun, is
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: it really fun? Is that like the kind of fun
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: that you want to get behind if it's again Byron
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: trying to play up like racial stereotypes, those sorts of things.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: So our Emily's our resident woke.
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: But yeah, I think I think in the end I
- 1:12:42Speaker 7: did vote for I did vote for James. In the end,
- 1:12:46Speaker 7: I think James would have made a really good lieutenant governor,
- 1:12:52Speaker 7: but that lieutenant governor would have had to have been
- 1:12:55Speaker 7: if Paul Renner were at the top of the ticket.
- 1:12:57Speaker 7: I think that two of those were saying the same thing. However,
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: Paul is expert at crafting his message where you know,
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: he's talking about Christian values. You know, I didn't really have.
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: There were some cringe moments where I'm like, this is
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: not going to go over well for the over fifty
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: five crowd, and you know, we saw that. You know,
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: we did an event in the villages where you have
- 1:13:24Speaker 7: six hundred and fifty people show up on a college
- 1:13:26Speaker 7: campus in Tampa, and you have twenty people show up
- 1:13:31Speaker 7: in the villages.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: Wow, Yeah, that's that's crazy. It's like the college for
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: old people. So Aaron, always exciting stuff happening down in Florida,
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: one of my favorite states. Thank you so much for
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: coming on, and we look forward to seeing where you
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: and the Florida Republican Party go next.
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: Appreciate it.
- 1:13:50Speaker 7: Always a pleasure, Thank you, sir.
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: Thanks Ared.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: Okay, let's round out this amazing Friday show with my
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: favorite part, as always the AMA question. So now this
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: first one, let's get spicy right off the top, guys.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: That's from Matthew C. Could there be a coherent defund
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: the police and anti flock coalition? Would Sager be convinced, Emily,
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: what do you?
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: What do you?
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: What do you make of that question?
- 1:14:15Speaker 12: Wait?
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: Repeat it because my headphones went up.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: Briefly, Matthew C is asking could there be a coherent
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: defund the police plus anti flock coalition? So I think
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: what they're saying is that it seems like anti flock
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: is very popular. Could that somehow be parlayed into a
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: conversation about defunding the police?
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: I mean, certainly, on like an intellectual level, you can
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: make that case. That's basically like the libertarian party or
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: like some anarcho communists, well maybe some of Yeah, some
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: of the anarcho communists probably, and they tend to hang
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: in libertarian circles already have have made that case convincingly.
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: But could you make it cohe a coherent case to
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: the public about that. That's a question I would maybe
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: turn back to you guys, like in urban areas, could
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: you reinvigorate the defund the police movement with the Flock
- 1:15:05Speaker 5: movement as a launching pad. It's not going to bring
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: in a broad coalition of Americans who are generally supportive
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: of the police, very sensitive about things like flock, very
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: sensitive about militarized policing. You're not going to get, you know,
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: broad support across America, which has a lot of like
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: dare I say, libertarian instincts for things like militarized police.
- 1:15:27Speaker 5: That was one of the one of the narratives that
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: came out of the Ferguson protests is like, after a rock,
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: we're flooding all these local policing units with military capabilities.
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: But on the other hand, I don't know, do you
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: think so. I don't think you're ever going to get
- 1:15:43Speaker 5: like a broad coalition of Americans. But in some cities,
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: could you reinvigorate defund with Flock? I mean I think so.
- 1:15:51Speaker 6: To me, I've always been a defund the police guy,
- 1:15:54Speaker 6: and I know that it's not like a popular sort
- 1:15:57Speaker 6: of like movement at this point, but I never really
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: understood why it was so controversial. To me, it's the
- 1:16:03Speaker 6: same argument as you know, why I think we should
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: be defunding the Pentagon, right, It's that the baseline budget
- 1:16:10Speaker 6: that we have and the baseline equipment that we have
- 1:16:13Speaker 6: for police in the United States of America, I mean
- 1:16:15Speaker 6: like there's some localities or cities in this country that
- 1:16:18Speaker 6: have higher police budgets than most countries' military budgets. I
- 1:16:21Speaker 6: mean it, it is completely out of control the amount
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: that we're spending on police and on mass surveillance and
- 1:16:27Speaker 6: so called security, like those resources could and should be
- 1:16:31Speaker 6: reallocated towards more effective I think, like community and social
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: program So to me, the argument for defund the police
- 1:16:37Speaker 6: has always been very straightforward and convincing. But in terms
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: of the pushback to Flock, what worries me about it
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: is that I think there's a large component of it
- 1:16:46Speaker 6: that people are upset that it's a private company that's
- 1:16:50Speaker 6: sort of acting in as this intermediary. I don't know
- 1:16:53Speaker 6: if there would be the same energy if it was
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: just you know, straight up police cameras that were effectively
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: doing the same thing. But the threat is the same,
- 1:17:01Speaker 6: like the threat of mass surveillance, the threat of you know,
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: this sort of like pre crime approach that's there. Whether
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: it's a private company like Flock that's contracting with the
- 1:17:09Speaker 6: police or whether it's the uh, the police, or the
- 1:17:11Speaker 6: government in and of itself. So I hope I hope
- 1:17:14Speaker 6: that it, you know, we could make some sort of
- 1:17:15Speaker 6: a pairing there. I also, by the way, I've heard
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: online that apparently there's something's happening on Halloween. I'm not
- 1:17:21Speaker 6: gonna say too much about it, but apparently Halloween is
- 1:17:26Speaker 6: the dflock night because people are dressed up in Yes, yes,
- 1:17:32Speaker 6: there's gonna be a big deal because everybody's dressed up
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: in costumes, and so you have sort of like, you know,
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: crowds of people and everybody's sort of like covering up
- 1:17:40Speaker 6: their identity. So we could see a big dflock movement
- 1:17:42Speaker 6: in a couple of months here coming up.
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: All right, keep your eyes on that, everybody, all right?
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: This this next one is for Emily Wait where did
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: it go? Okay? This is from Raphae Aldamien. Question for
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: our resident religious expert, Miss Jashinsky. Donald J. Trump doesn't
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: seem to be a pious man, people are saying, but
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: he has recently made or marks that people interpret as religious,
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: most notably that grass grass has life like human grass,
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: it's got life like humans. Is he a secret Buddhist?
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: And what are your thoughts on his comments?
- 1:18:18Speaker 5: Someone someone posted the funniest thing about this.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: Says so many things. I miss some of the best ones.
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: Yeah, there's some incredible ones. Okay, So this guy, Logan
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: McMillan on X posted this is the third time Trump
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: has said that grass has quote life like humans. He
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: is close to embracing the truth, the Buddha like nature
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: of all things, and rejecting the false binary of sentience
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: slash Incentians.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: You know, is fucking up the White House lawn and
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: He's like, oh, it looked better when there was grass.
- 1:18:48Speaker 5: There is he and he's been thinking about grass a
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: lot because of that, because of the National Mall, which
- 1:18:54Speaker 5: is having grass issues. But he I don't think this
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: is the wealve. I don't think Bodh is the well
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: from which these thoughts spring. I don't think anybody can
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: know the source of Trump's musings on grass. I am
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: and I think that's the beauty of it. Right. It
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: remains enigmatic. We'll never get to the bottom of what
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: Trump thinks about anything. Frankly, it is funny though, like
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: some of his random he will just get on a
- 1:19:22Speaker 5: random tear about something like remember when it was Robert
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. He posted like ten tweets telling
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: Robert Pattin said to leave Kristen Stewart in like twenty.
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: Twelve, he was right to do so because they're both
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: much happier.
- 1:19:35Speaker 5: You know, he's right about the grass too, apparently.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: I think it's one of those late in life things, right, Mac,
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: Like you know, he's he's he's seen the sunset of
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: his life and he's coming in tune. Well, but it's
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: also weird because he's he's had previous statements sort of
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: alluding to like heaven and hell, right that he's not
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: going that he's not going to heaven, which is also
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: interesting because it's like, well, if you believe in hell, like,
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: wouldn't you be like trying to redeem yourself in the
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: final wake of your or he's just he's given up
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: at this point.
- 1:20:04Speaker 5: He's he's set and going to hell. But this is
- 1:20:07Speaker 5: the beauty of it again, it's like we will never know.
- 1:20:10Speaker 5: We can we can talk, we can speculate, but there's
- 1:20:13Speaker 5: no answer.
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: Okay, Final one, Mac, This is from Hockey. What if
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: the Establishment forces two zion Is candidates upon us for
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: president of twenty twenty eight.
- 1:20:29Speaker 5: Well, they're definitely, They're they're definitely going to try to I.
- 1:20:33Speaker 6: You know, when you look at the slate of candidates, well,
- 1:20:37Speaker 6: I mean, obviously the Republican candidate is going to be
- 1:20:40Speaker 6: a Zionist. I don't think that's even in question. I mean,
- 1:20:42Speaker 6: most likely at this point it's going to be jd
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: or Mark Rubio, one of the two, or Fish apparently
- 1:20:48Speaker 6: or fishback or Nick Fuentes or whatever else the universe
- 1:20:51Speaker 6: throws at us. But on the Democratic side, I just
- 1:20:56Speaker 6: I'm nervous right now because I don't know who could
- 1:20:59Speaker 6: be the real who has the charisma, who has the
- 1:21:03Speaker 6: sort of energy, the capability to really be an insurgent
- 1:21:08Speaker 6: like Bernie style or Bernie level caliber of candidate.
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: Like it doesn't seem like he's gonna it doesn't seem
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: like it's gonna AOC twenty eight. It seems to be
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: spy circling the drain right now.
- 1:21:18Speaker 6: So I don't think, yeah, it probably won't be AOC.
- 1:21:20Speaker 6: It could be if Abdul wins, you know, and he
- 1:21:23Speaker 6: he really locks in and like focuses on becoming a
- 1:21:26Speaker 6: real national figure over the next couple of years, it
- 1:21:28Speaker 6: could be somebody like Abdul. You got other people like
- 1:21:31Speaker 6: Rocanna that are in there, but you know, Rocana is
- 1:21:32Speaker 6: not even an anti Zionist.
- 1:21:34Speaker 9: There.
- 1:21:34Speaker 6: There really are very few anti Zionists truly, Like Bernie
- 1:21:38Speaker 6: Sanders is not an anti Zionist. Like there's very very
- 1:21:41Speaker 6: few anti Zionist. Uh, you know, high level politicians that
- 1:21:44Speaker 6: could run in twenty twenty eight. So Hockey was his name. Apologies,
- 1:21:49Speaker 6: but I think that's like almost an inevitability. Well you
- 1:21:52Speaker 6: said Hockey.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: I thought you were giving a cute nickname to Jeffries. No, No,
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: I'm just I think it's almost an inevitability that it well, yeah, exactly.
- 1:22:06Speaker 6: I think I think it's an inevitability that it will
- 1:22:09Speaker 6: be a to some extent a Zionist candidate. But the
- 1:22:13Speaker 6: question then is like how do politicians like Kamala Harris
- 1:22:17Speaker 6: or you know, John Ossoff, like where do they position
- 1:22:20Speaker 6: themselves in regard to Israel? Because you could have a
- 1:22:22Speaker 6: Zionist candidate who also is willing to restrict weaponry to
- 1:22:25Speaker 6: Israel or who is you know, willing to change the
- 1:22:28Speaker 6: dynamic of that relationship. And I think that's that's more
- 1:22:31Speaker 6: so going to be where the test is okay.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: Much to think about, much to look forward to, much
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: to dread. Everybody keep their eyes on grass this weekend.
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: You might find some inspiration in your own life. Everyone,
