  sunday night crossfit talk
• 0:33
whoa yeah I am I just did
• 0:38
  an instagram live I told
• 0:40
  everybody I don't know who
• 0:43
won I think I know who got
• 0:45
  their ticket I think we
• 0:47
know who's going on I have
• 0:49
  no idea nothing is official
• 0:51
  no leaderboard has finalized
• 0:55
  Who knows?
• 0:55
  It could still be like
• 0:57
  auctioning off the spot now
• 0:58
  at this point.
• 0:59
  Who knows?
• 0:59
  I don't know.
• 1:00
  Let's do another floater wad.
• 1:01
  How about that?
• 1:02
I don't know what the hell I just saw.
• 1:04
  Right.
• 1:07
Usually we do a catch up.
• 1:09
  We're not doing that.
• 1:13
I actually just got word from the park.
• 1:15
They are just now doing the
• 1:16
  award ceremony.
• 1:17
  Okay.
• 1:18
  Okay.
• 1:20
  So hopefully we'll have
• 1:22
something in the next couple of minutes.
• 1:27
Usually we do a catch up.
• 1:28
We're not going to catch up tonight.
• 1:30
It's going to be right into the stuff.
• 1:31
But don't forget to like and subscribe,
• 1:33
  guys.
• 1:34
We're here for you every Sunday night.
• 1:36
And if you want to become a member,
• 1:38
you can do that for just
• 1:39
  two ninety nine a month.
• 1:40
And that helps us just kind
• 1:42
of offset some of the cost
• 1:43
for the equipment and the software we do.
• 1:46
We used to run this show and
• 1:49
anything you can contribute is awesome.
• 1:51
If not, we get that to come back,
• 1:53
  enjoy and listen for free.
• 1:55
  We will do this regardless.
• 1:58
so I see a lot of people
• 2:00
  saying they're proud of
• 2:00
  carolyn I have been a
• 2:02
  nervous wreck the entire
• 2:03
  weekend I know two people
• 2:07
  in the women's division are
• 2:09
  may have been major parts
• 2:10
of this channel in the last
• 2:12
  eighteen months I did a
• 2:14
  show with hattie kenyo for
• 2:17
about nine months live from bali
• 2:21
  Then Carolyn joined the
• 2:24
  channel and became a
• 2:26
  permanent co-host on this show.
• 2:29
And it came down to the two
• 2:30
of them and the living legend,
• 2:32
  Kristen Holta.
• 2:33
  Right.
• 2:36
  What in the bloody hell?
• 2:40
I know it's, it was hard because like,
• 2:42
  we clearly want,
• 2:43
want Carolyn to punch her ticket,
• 2:46
  but you like,
• 2:47
  you can't root against Hattie.
• 2:49
  Like, right.
• 2:50
And you know, it's a good, the thing is,
• 2:51
you know, it's a good workout for Hattie.
• 2:54
  Right.
• 2:55
But I also knew she had a labrum tear.
• 2:57
  Yeah.
• 3:00
And I didn't know what that
• 3:01
  meant for her rope climbs.
• 3:03
And I didn't know what that
• 3:04
  meant for the clean.
• 3:06
Because, like, you've had a labrum tear.
• 3:09
Amanda Barnhart's had a labrum tear.
• 3:11
And it's affected you guys differently.
• 3:14
  Yeah.
• 3:15
I'm very curious how that is
• 3:18
  affecting Hattie.
• 3:19
  Because, like,
• 3:23
  she looked amazing at Isabel.
• 3:26
  And, like,
• 3:27
I would say snatching is one of
• 3:28
the things, like, I'm cautious about.
• 3:31
And I would not, out of everyone I watched,
• 3:35
  you, she,
• 3:36
you could have told me that it
• 3:37
was a regular barbell and I
• 3:39
  would have believed you.
• 3:40
Everyone else, when I watched them,
• 3:41
I was like, oh, that's a shorty bar.
• 3:42
  It looks funky.
• 3:43
  Like you could tell.
• 3:45
  I didn't even,
• 3:45
like she moved that thing so well,
• 3:47
I wasn't even sure that she
• 3:48
  had a shorty bar.
• 3:51
So, before we kind of get into everything,
• 3:54
and the men's side was even more insane,
• 3:57
Carolyn is a part of this show.
• 3:59
We are going to talk about
• 4:00
  the women's final first.
• 4:01
  And that is, it appears,
• 4:04
and Hattie was in the lead
• 4:05
  for the entire heat.
• 4:07
  Right.
• 4:08
  So,
• 4:08
it appears that she got the tiebreaker.
• 4:11
She gets the second place finish.
• 4:13
  Right.
• 4:14
And it will be Alex Kazan
• 4:16
and Hattie Cano going on to
• 4:18
  the CrossFit Games.
• 4:20
  Hopefully we have something
• 4:20
official in the next couple minutes.
• 4:26
  But that's what it appears
• 4:27
  to be at this point.
• 4:28
  I believe Carolyn would be
• 4:30
  in third and Kristen Holta
• 4:33
  would be in fourth.
• 4:35
  Right.
• 4:38
I do want to say, you know,
• 4:40
  watching every one of
• 4:41
  Carolyn's competitions
• 4:43
since we have had her on this show,
• 4:46
it is the best I've seen
• 4:48
  her in two years.
• 4:51
  I totally agree.
• 4:51
I was very nervous for her
• 4:53
going into this with that, that, you know,
• 4:58
not being able to train and
• 4:59
  like grip and stuff.
• 5:00
I was like, there's kind of,
• 5:02
  it's kind of grippy,
• 5:03
like going up and doing ring muscle-ups,
• 5:04
  doing those bar muscle-up pullovers.
• 5:06
Like I was nervous for her
• 5:09
not having to be able to
• 5:11
  train that volume over the
• 5:12
  last few weeks.
• 5:13
And I don't know if that like deload,
• 5:17
  I totally agree.
• 5:18
  She looked better than I've
• 5:19
  ever seen her look.
• 5:20
  Yeah.
• 5:22
  She looked awesome.
• 5:23
  And she was competing in
• 5:24
gymnastics events with the Krieger girls.
• 5:28
  I guess it's now.
• 5:32
  And that was awesome.
• 5:33
  And then Hattie coming out,
• 5:36
  I thought the snatch was
• 5:37
going to be her worst thing.
• 5:38
She killed that off the bat.
• 5:40
  Yeah.
• 5:41
  And...
• 5:43
And all of that was awesome.
• 5:45
I do know from text directly from Carolyn,
• 5:48
there was some mix up in
• 5:49
  the run row row run.
• 5:51
  Yes.
• 5:52
  And that she was actually
• 5:53
sent to the wrong rower and
• 5:55
  then couldn't get on.
• 5:56
So there had to be an adjustment for that.
• 5:59
  Um,
• 6:01
and that took a while to get adjusted
• 6:02
  on the leaderboard and
• 6:03
  that's actually tightened
• 6:04
  up the score even more.
• 6:07
  Um,
• 6:12
Let's go to the, and then,
• 6:13
  so that's what we believe
• 6:15
  the leaderboard to be.
• 6:16
  Right.
• 6:17
  We should find out during
• 6:18
  this show about that.
• 6:20
  So on the men's side,
• 6:22
  William Leahy was far and
• 6:24
  away in the lead.
• 6:25
  Yeah.
• 6:26
So then it was up to Nate
• 6:28
  Ackerman and Jorge
• 6:30
  Fernandez realistically for
• 6:32
  that last spot.
• 6:35
It appears that it came down
• 6:38
  to one place where,
• 6:40
on the leaderboard for who got it.
• 6:42
And it appears to be Jorge Fernandez.
• 6:45
  Right.
• 6:47
  But there was some drama
• 6:50
  about the wrong weights on
• 6:52
a bar who told him they
• 6:55
  were the wrong weights,
• 6:56
whether it be the judge or a media member,
• 6:59
  mainly Taylor self.
• 7:03
And he had to then change the weights and,
• 7:06
But Nate did pull on his first attempt,
• 7:09
  hit the final weight.
• 7:11
It was one of the ugliest
• 7:13
  cleans I've ever seen.
• 7:14
  So ugly.
• 7:16
  But he got it.
• 7:17
And then it was a chip timer
• 7:20
  decision between Jorge and
• 7:22
  Nate at the end.
• 7:25
  Right?
• 7:26
Or no, that was between Bill and him.
• 7:28
  Correct.
• 7:29
  Bill and Jorge would have.
• 7:31
And if Jorge beat Bill there.
• 7:37
That could be that place that Nate needed,
• 7:41
but it was with bill needed
• 7:44
to be Jorge for Nate to get that spot.
• 7:47
  Correct.
• 7:48
  Yeah.
• 7:50
So, uh, Ken says I haven't seen his clean.
• 7:53
  Fair.
• 7:57
  Yeah.
• 7:57
  Spencer did get in there,
• 7:59
but I think it needed to be
• 7:59
four or five people needed to middle.
• 8:01
I think six because of Ilya
• 8:03
  from the first heat.
• 8:04
I think that's the biggest problem.
• 8:06
  Yeah.
• 8:08
  The question is,
• 8:10
  could Nate have beat Spencer?
• 8:12
You know, and that's, that's the problem.
• 8:19
  Yeah.
• 8:19
  I don't know.
• 8:19
Who even knows if that would
• 8:20
  have been enough though.
• 8:21
  We can't see the leaderboard.
• 8:22
  We don't know.
• 8:23
  We're not there.
• 8:26
  I, um,
• 8:27
I was really rooting for Spencer a lot.
• 8:28
You know, I am a pan check, um, guy and,
• 8:32
  um,
• 8:35
  Patrick Clark says that's
• 8:37
  the biggest problem.
• 8:38
  Of course not.
• 8:39
  There was so many problems
• 8:40
at the end of that event.
• 8:44
So let's hit the elephant in
• 8:48
  the room first.
• 8:51
  If Taylor Self,
• 8:53
  which it appears from the
• 8:55
  footage and the admission afterwards,
• 8:59
  told Nate Ackerman he had
• 9:00
the wrong weights on the bar.
• 9:03
  That is a huge,
• 9:05
huge no-no as a media member.
• 9:08
There is no way you should
• 9:10
  do anything that affects
• 9:11
  the outcome of the event,
• 9:12
  even telling a competitor
• 9:15
  what they're doing right or
• 9:16
  wrong during the event.
• 9:19
  I mean,
• 9:19
I feel like the problem is that Nate,
• 9:21
asked him as he walked by and should,
• 9:25
  should Taylor just kept walking?
• 9:26
  Probably.
• 9:27
I mean, but that's going to be hard,
• 9:28
  but I don't know why.
• 9:30
I mean, Nate, if Nate has a question,
• 9:32
he needs to just turn to his judge.
• 9:34
  Like that someone on camera
• 9:36
  should not be your first
• 9:39
person to look at for an answer.
• 9:41
  Like, just be like,
• 9:42
he should have looked at his judgment,
• 9:43
  like the five, correct.
• 9:45
  And kept moving.
• 9:48
  I mean, they clearly like,
• 9:51
  Yeah,
• 9:51
because you can see something happened.
• 9:53
  He changes to whatever
• 9:54
  Taylor says and then runs
• 9:56
over to the other side to fix that side.
• 9:58
And then the head judge comes up.
• 10:00
Then he's got to, like, yeah,
• 10:02
  what a disaster.
• 10:04
  I can't even imagine being
• 10:05
  in Taylor's shoes, though.
• 10:07
Like, you want to help, right?
• 10:11
I mean, if somebody asks you a question,
• 10:13
  you want to be helpful.
• 10:16
Andrew Sten has it dead on.
• 10:17
If you are inside the ropes...
• 10:19
If you are inside the ropes,
• 10:20
  the only people on that
• 10:22
  floor who should talk to
• 10:23
  the athletes are judges.
• 10:25
  Yeah.
• 10:25
  Andrew saw it at syndicate
• 10:27
media on the floor cheering for athletes.
• 10:29
  Yeah.
• 10:29
You cannot be inside the ropes cheering.
• 10:34
If you're in the pit, fine.
• 10:36
  You're not on the floor.
• 10:38
You can cheer all you want.
• 10:42
  Because there are, like,
• 10:43
the Mayhem crew are there filming Mayhem.
• 10:45
  They're going to want their
• 10:46
  athletes to do well.
• 10:48
But they are not inside the
• 10:49
  ropes working for media.
• 10:52
If you are inside the ropes,
• 10:54
there is no reason for you
• 10:56
  to talk to the athlete.
• 10:58
  Right.
• 10:59
  So Matt says right here,
• 11:02
and I did see this on Instagram too.
• 11:04
  Matt Welty said the real
• 11:06
  issue was they changed the
• 11:07
weights ten minutes before the workout.
• 11:09
So I didn't see that about the men,
• 11:11
but I did see the women's got changed.
• 11:13
  Because we knew that the
• 11:15
  men's got changed from
• 11:15
  three thirty five to three
• 11:16
  twenty five because the
• 11:17
weights wouldn't fit on the bar.
• 11:18
  We knew that.
• 11:19
So if it was changed beyond that,
• 11:21
  I haven't heard that.
• 11:22
But I do know I heard that
• 11:24
the women's got knocked down from three
• 11:27
  one eighty five to fifteen
• 11:28
  to thirty five to one
• 11:30
eighty five to oh five to twenty five.
• 11:34
And it was just kind of a yeah,
• 11:36
like threw it out there ten
• 11:37
  minutes before and they're like,
• 11:39
  this is it.
• 11:41
Why is there so many plates on the floor?
• 11:45
  That like,
• 11:47
I understand they have like a
• 11:47
  ton of heats and they're
• 11:48
probably trying to keep equipment nearby,
• 11:50
  but like that,
• 11:50
  I feel like that stuff
• 11:51
needs to be moved into the
• 11:52
  finish lane somewhere off.
• 11:53
Like there shouldn't even be a question.
• 11:55
  This is what you're putting
• 11:56
  on at this spot.
• 12:00
  Yep.
• 12:01
  Yep.
• 12:02
  It,
• 12:03
I think we're going to get into that in
• 12:05
  a second.
• 12:06
  Cause then there are
• 12:06
  comments here about it
• 12:08
  being a qualifying event
• 12:09
  for the CrossFit games.
• 12:10
  And I definitely have some
• 12:11
  opinions about that.
• 12:14
  Um,
• 12:14
but I think we'll get to that in a
• 12:15
  second.
• 12:19
I think Patrick said it well, um,
• 12:22
  media is there to document,
• 12:23
  not influence outcomes.
• 12:25
  Yeah.
• 12:26
  If you're inside the ropes,
• 12:28
  that is a very big
• 12:30
  distinction inside the ropes.
• 12:33
  You are there to document
• 12:34
  and not influence outcomes.
• 12:36
  You shouldn't influence
• 12:37
  outcomes from outside the ropes,
• 12:38
but you can cheer and you
• 12:41
  can show an allegiance.
• 12:49
  Supposedly they briefed it
• 12:50
wrong and then ran with it.
• 12:51
At least that's what I saw on IG.
• 12:53
  That's what I'm seeing.
• 12:55
  Again,
• 12:57
it's a lot of this hearsay stuff of
• 13:01
maybe this is what I heard.
• 13:03
  This is a rumor.
• 13:04
  This is that.
• 13:05
  This is this.
• 13:07
  That can't happen at an
• 13:08
  event that's qualifying
• 13:10
  someone to the CrossFit Games.
• 13:12
  Right, right.
• 13:15
  just can't yeah I mean I
• 13:18
  like ultimately with
• 13:20
  everything with every stage
• 13:21
of the season it is the
• 13:23
  athlete's responsibility
• 13:25
and so in that vein I say
• 13:27
  that this is nate's issue
• 13:28
  however this entire weekend
• 13:31
  was something new to deal
• 13:34
  like I can't imagine like
• 13:35
  having a plan knowing what
• 13:37
  you're supposed to do and
• 13:37
being told nope not and then
• 13:40
  I can see,
• 13:41
and then you've got people like
• 13:42
  Ilya who have, you know,
• 13:43
  language barrier.
• 13:44
  Like I can see mishaps
• 13:46
  happening like that.
• 13:48
  And that's more reason to
• 13:49
make sure the floor is set
• 13:51
the way it needs to be set.
• 13:51
  So there isn't any
• 13:53
  possibility of a discrepancy.
• 13:59
  Reading comments here.
• 14:00
  Quick name an event at
• 14:01
NorCal that didn't have a change.
• 14:04
  Seems like every other event
• 14:05
  had a last minute change.
• 14:07
  I saw some athlete briefing
• 14:09
behind the scenes, even for WOD one.
• 14:12
And let me just say athletes
• 14:13
  hats off to you.
• 14:14
Cause I didn't understand the flow at all.
• 14:18
And Lynn works a lot of
• 14:19
  these events as a volunteer.
• 14:20
Like she knows the inside jargon.
• 14:29
  I mean,
• 14:30
they say Blair had the wrong
• 14:31
  weights on Ilya's bar and
• 14:33
  he was running it.
• 14:34
  Yes.
• 14:35
So I feel like that is the issue.
• 14:36
  And that's what Taylor saw.
• 14:38
  So Taylor just videoed Ilya
• 14:39
  finishing and saw the tens,
• 14:41
the white tens on the outside.
• 14:43
And it was no issue for Ilya, right?
• 14:45
  Like strong enough, didn't matter,
• 14:47
threw the tens on, hit it.
• 14:49
  And then the problem is
• 14:50
  that's what Taylor saw and
• 14:52
  thought that's what should
• 14:53
be on the bars moving forward.
• 14:55
  But yeah, huge problem.
• 15:02
  Granted,
• 15:02
  one of the changes actually
• 15:03
  benefited Carolyn,
• 15:04
  no heavy double-unders.
• 15:06
  I'll tell you this.
• 15:07
  She has been getting extra
• 15:09
coaching and working on those a lot.
• 15:12
And in anything lower than fifty,
• 15:14
I would say she would have
• 15:16
  been fine with those double-unders.
• 15:17
  Yeah.
• 15:18
It sucks because I wanted to see them.
• 15:20
I wanted to see the hard work pay off.
• 15:23
Because, yeah, it wasn't a huge volume.
• 15:24
I just, yeah, I wanted to see them.
• 15:26
  And she's getting to where
• 15:27
like a hundred is comfortable for her.
• 15:29
  Yep.
• 15:30
  So, like,
• 15:30
she's really worked hard on that.
• 15:33
But we did give her a hard
• 15:34
time that how did she sneak
• 15:36
in and heat up the jump
• 15:37
  rope handles before the event.
• 15:49
  T-Bird, I don't want to compare.
• 15:52
If any of this happened at WFP,
• 15:53
  all of what happened would
• 15:54
be unacceptable and shit all over.
• 15:58
  If this happened anywhere,
• 16:00
it would be shit all over.
• 16:02
And we're the first show to
• 16:04
  come on since this happened.
• 16:07
  It is unacceptable.
• 16:09
  It should not be allowed.
• 16:12
  And so let's get into...
• 16:14
There's so much to talk about.
• 16:16
  I'm having a hard time
• 16:17
focusing on where we should go next.
• 16:19
  Yeah.
• 16:20
Oh, I've got my list of the workouts.
• 16:23
  To me...
• 16:26
  like they met with rich
• 16:28
  right they they even like
• 16:30
had like I feel like floor
• 16:33
layout and I feel like some
• 16:36
  of this stuff seems like
• 16:38
  stuff that like rich would
• 16:39
have had some input on set up and
• 16:43
Just making sure, like, I mean,
• 16:46
I know that he's not, like, the PFA, but,
• 16:48
  like,
• 16:49
somebody needs to review some of
• 16:51
  these and make sure, like,
• 16:54
  there's room for error is
• 16:56
  mitigated as much as possible.
• 16:59
I've got to think that Rich
• 17:00
  has got to be disappointed
• 17:01
with the way this came out.
• 17:05
  Yeah, I agree.
• 17:07
Because he was a consultant for this.
• 17:09
  Right.
• 17:09
  There's a video that Hiller
• 17:10
  put out showing that Mayhem
• 17:12
  was a consultant for this.
• 17:14
But I think it's one thing
• 17:15
  to develop the workout and
• 17:16
  look at it in Mayhem,
• 17:19
and another thing to put it
• 17:20
out in the middle of the
• 17:21
sun in a park with uneven grass,
• 17:24
uneven dirt, pavement, whatever it was,
• 17:29
and watch it play out there.
• 17:31
  Right, right.
• 17:33
  the the weather and the
• 17:35
outdoor nature of it had a
• 17:38
  huge effect on what
• 17:39
  happened this weekend yep
• 17:45
um it's it is hard to think
• 17:54
I know a lot of people talk
• 17:55
  about this like the longest
• 17:56
  running it's you know it's a
• 17:59
  It's a great out-of-the-box competition.
• 18:03
Should it be a qualifier comp?
• 18:05
  I don't know.
• 18:05
When you have eight scores and six,
• 18:12
  arguably six events,
• 18:13
had a pretty meaningful issue with them,
• 18:17
  that's a problem.
• 18:21
  It's one thing to overcome
• 18:23
  issues as an athlete,
• 18:23
like be able to roll with the punches,
• 18:25
  learn on the fly.
• 18:26
Sure, there is something to that, but...
• 18:30
  When six of eight events
• 18:32
  have serious questions,
• 18:38
  there's a problem.
• 18:41
So I see a lot of people
• 18:42
  talking about should it be
• 18:42
  a qualifier or not.
• 18:43
I do not think it should be.
• 18:45
I think it pays homage to the past.
• 18:48
  It pays homage to the
• 18:49
  ranch-style games and the
• 18:52
  origins of CrossFit the sport.
• 18:54
And I think that's what was
• 18:56
cool about it when it was
• 18:57
  an off-season comp.
• 19:01
  And I'm going to say
• 19:02
  something extremely sarcastic.
• 19:05
You would never see the NFL say, hey,
• 19:07
  let's play one playoff game
• 19:10
  in leather helmets on a
• 19:12
  baseball field with
• 19:13
  goalposts in the middle of
• 19:14
the end zone just to pay
• 19:17
  respects to the past.
• 19:20
  You just wouldn't.
• 19:22
  You wouldn't change things
• 19:23
up like that in the middle
• 19:25
  of a competitive season.
• 19:30
  You just wouldn't.
• 19:31
And so, and I see NASCAR here.
• 19:34
You wouldn't do a dirt track
• 19:35
on NASCAR to pay homage to the past.
• 19:41
  Right?
• 19:41
Well, they said they do one a year.
• 19:43
  It just doesn't count.
• 19:45
  Well, it doesn't count.
• 19:47
  Right.
• 19:47
  Yeah.
• 19:47
  So it's an exhibition.
• 19:49
  Yes.
• 19:50
  Right.
• 19:50
I'm all for NorCal going on
• 19:52
  and being this really cool
• 19:53
  comp that it's a throwback
• 19:55
to what it used to be.
• 19:58
  Right?
• 19:58
  Like,
• 20:00
  It's a high-paying comp.
• 20:01
  I think it's cool.
• 20:02
I think people should go to
• 20:05
  it and experience something different.
• 20:07
There's a lot on the line, though,
• 20:08
when you're talking about two game spots.
• 20:13
  Right.
• 20:14
  I don't know.
• 20:14
  I don't know that I say that
• 20:15
  it shouldn't be.
• 20:18
  Again,
• 20:18
there's something to be said to
• 20:19
  learning on the fly.
• 20:20
There's something to be said for the heat.
• 20:21
  There's something to...
• 20:25
  the certain athletes will
• 20:26
sign up for that and do better at it.
• 20:29
And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
• 20:31
  I just don't like when I
• 20:36
don't like when judges call the race.
• 20:38
I don't like when equipment calls the race,
• 20:42
  you know, it,
• 20:49
There's so many comments coming through.
• 20:50
I can't even read them all.
• 20:53
What I will say is I thought,
• 20:55
I thought the events were cool.
• 20:56
  I really did.
• 20:57
  I really liked them,
• 20:59
but the execution of them was not good.
• 21:01
  Right.
• 21:02
  And if you can't execute
• 21:04
them at the level it needs to be,
• 21:06
then just go back to being your,
• 21:09
your homage to the past off
• 21:10
  season competition.
• 21:13
  And that's okay.
• 21:13
  Yeah.
• 21:15
yeah I mean that's aaron and
• 21:17
  I watching some of the
• 21:18
  stuff like the ring shuttle
• 21:21
  I mean you're watching you
• 21:22
  can clearly see the cones
• 21:25
  angled and it's like like
• 21:26
  nobody could get some
• 21:30
  wheels and wheel it and
• 21:31
  make sure like maybe they
• 21:32
  couldn't what my thought
• 21:33
  was they should have
• 21:34
  painted a line because I
• 21:36
  heard them say the cones
• 21:37
  get getting kicked and
• 21:38
  naturally they kind of get
• 21:39
set off every time they get re-stud up
• 21:43
  But like there should have
• 21:44
been a paint line the night
• 21:47
it was set up with those
• 21:48
lines and they should have been squared.
• 21:51
  I mean,
• 21:52
it shouldn't be a question that the
• 21:53
  distance should be the same.
• 21:56
You could clearly see the left was right.
• 21:59
I mean, everyone would get back quicker.
• 22:01
  The the handstand pirouettes
• 22:05
  were judged inconsistently.
• 22:07
Yeah, and super uneven ground, right?
• 22:11
  Like, you could see that.
• 22:13
  I heard that.
• 22:14
  But, like, honestly,
• 22:16
these events were fun to watch.
• 22:18
  Like, I loved watching it.
• 22:20
  That's the... I think that's
• 22:22
  the tear at people, right?
• 22:24
  Yeah.
• 22:24
  The tear is...
• 22:26
I want to go out and push a
• 22:27
  gator tomorrow.
• 22:28
I want to throw D balls into
• 22:30
  a back of a gator and I
• 22:31
want to push it a hundred feet.
• 22:32
  Yeah.
• 22:33
My buddies and I used to do
• 22:34
that with cars at our gym
• 22:36
  just to break up the
• 22:37
  monotony of workouts.
• 22:40
  That is fun to me.
• 22:42
That is a throwback and should,
• 22:45
there should be respect to that,
• 22:47
but the execution just has to be higher.
• 22:49
  If you're going to qualify
• 22:50
people to the next level of the sport.
• 22:53
  Absolutely agree.
• 22:54
  Great.
• 22:58
I see the NHL outdoor games.
• 23:01
  The execution of those
• 23:02
outdoor games is at a very high level.
• 23:05
The ice rink is the same
• 23:07
size as every other ice rink.
• 23:10
The blue lines and the red
• 23:11
line are in the same place.
• 23:13
The goals are in the same
• 23:14
  place and the referees call
• 23:16
  the game the same.
• 23:19
  It's okay to have a
• 23:20
  different home field
• 23:21
  advantage or whatever,
• 23:24
but the execution just has to be higher.
• 23:28
  And maybe because you have
• 23:29
  fifteen hundred athletes there,
• 23:31
  it's tough to give
• 23:33
  attention to the elite
• 23:35
  athletes to make sure that
• 23:38
everything is executed at that level.
• 23:40
  Yeah.
• 23:41
The amount of judges you need for that.
• 23:43
  Right.
• 23:45
  Yeah, I think that is.
• 23:48
  And I get it,
• 23:48
I think the cops need to go
• 23:50
  that direction and it like
• 23:51
you need to be a community
• 23:52
  event and have all these
• 23:54
  divisions and heats to make
• 23:56
  it worthwhile and make money.
• 24:00
  I don't know that that's the
• 24:02
  place for games qualifying events,
• 24:04
  though.
• 24:04
That's what made Mayhem Classic so great,
• 24:08
  right?
• 24:08
  It was small, intimate.
• 24:10
  Well, that was it.
• 24:12
  That's what's going on,
• 24:12
  and it's being done right.
• 24:18
I said to you in a text
• 24:20
right before we came on the air,
• 24:22
if I'm an athlete, a high level athlete,
• 24:24
and I want to put my games
• 24:27
  chances in one basket,
• 24:29
I would be a fool to do it here.
• 24:32
  There are way too many
• 24:32
  variables that I cannot
• 24:34
  control to allow my one
• 24:36
shot to be at this event.
• 24:38
  Right.
• 24:42
  Yeah.
• 24:43
  Tristan before this.
• 24:45
  And he said like,
• 24:45
  they didn't have an option.
• 24:47
  Hattie was hurt.
• 24:48
  Right.
• 24:48
She had to wait to the last
• 24:50
event and give it a shot.
• 24:52
And I said, well, I understand that.
• 24:54
But looking at this, if she is healthy,
• 24:56
there's no way you put this as her shot.
• 24:59
And he was like, absolutely not.
• 25:01
  Yeah.
• 25:03
  I mean,
• 25:04
it seemingly worked out for Alex
• 25:06
  and Hattie.
• 25:07
I do think these were really
• 25:08
good events for both of them.
• 25:11
  Um,
• 25:13
  But could something have
• 25:15
  gone not in their favor?
• 25:18
  Probably.
• 25:20
  I mean, I, I, as it was, I,
• 25:22
I think the reason it was
• 25:23
  even closer is because
• 25:24
  Hattie had a pretty uneven
• 25:26
lane for the handstand pirouettes and,
• 25:28
and failed a few that she
• 25:30
  probably normally wouldn't
• 25:31
  in another location.
• 25:34
  Yeah.
• 25:42
  I know that like everybody
• 25:44
  wants to say regionals with
• 25:46
  this ownership group that
• 25:47
  is never coming back.
• 25:48
  Yeah.
• 25:51
So like, we've got to get over that.
• 25:55
  I loved regionals too.
• 25:56
I love the fact that like
• 25:57
all my local gyms would go
• 26:00
to that event and you got
• 26:02
to hang out with a bunch of
• 26:03
  your friends at regionals.
• 26:05
  It was awesome.
• 26:05
  Right.
• 26:07
It's not, it's not coming back.
• 26:08
  No, it's sad.
• 26:14
  I wish it were too.
• 26:15
  I mean,
• 26:15
  I think that's the way I understand
• 26:21
  it costs too much money.
• 26:23
  I mean, like I said,
• 26:24
  I understand why Norkill
• 26:25
runs this the way they run
• 26:26
it and it's this big, but yeah,
• 26:29
something gets lost in the fold.
• 26:32
  Yeah.
• 26:32
  I mean,
• 26:33
I would argue that you could do it
• 26:34
  cheaper than they would.
• 26:35
  They were doing it.
• 26:37
  Yeah.
• 26:38
  Right.
• 26:38
  Like,
• 26:39
I think that it doesn't have
• 26:41
to be an all or nothing but
• 26:43
  maybe a new ownership will
• 26:44
  look into that format a
• 26:45
  little bit more but this
• 26:50
  ownership will not like
• 26:53
with this until it sells we
• 26:55
have no shot yeah so so
• 27:02
let's kind of look at this
• 27:03
  event overall let's go
• 27:04
  through the events okay
• 27:06
  What was cool about it?
• 27:08
  What was bad about it?
• 27:12
If we take the first event,
• 27:15
which it's going to be a
• 27:16
  little messy because the
• 27:18
  women went one direction,
• 27:19
  the men went another.
• 27:21
  So Ring Shuttle.
• 27:22
  Yep.
• 27:25
  I like that event.
• 27:28
other than the cone the cone
• 27:31
  fiasco cone fiasco I also
• 27:33
  heard um I I don't know if
• 27:35
  you caught lauren stall
• 27:36
would say she had one thin
• 27:38
  ring and one thick ring
• 27:39
  that's ridiculous um I
• 27:45
think I'm trying to go back
• 27:47
  and remember what rich said
• 27:49
  but I feel like
• 27:51
I feel like maybe some of
• 27:52
his suggestions were not listened to.
• 27:55
I swear he said the buy-in
• 27:57
  needed to be long enough.
• 27:59
  There shouldn't have been
• 28:01
  anyone finishing in one round,
• 28:02
  in my opinion.
• 28:05
It either should have been a
• 28:05
  two-minute or longer
• 28:07
  shuttles or double shuttles
• 28:09
or the men needed to do
• 28:11
forty compared to the women's thirty.
• 28:14
It should not have been a one-rounder,
• 28:17
  in my opinion.
• 28:18
But yeah, the shuttles needed to be...
• 28:21
  equal length.
• 28:22
  I just think,
• 28:22
I think it should have had a
• 28:24
  longer buy-in or a two
• 28:27
  minute clock or a different
• 28:29
number of muscle ups to make it.
• 28:30
  Yep.
• 28:30
  Okay.
• 28:31
  Yep.
• 28:33
Um, then we go to heavy Isabel,
• 28:35
  which I'm sorry, Justin was,
• 28:38
I love Alex to death, not her best event.
• 28:41
  Yeah.
• 28:42
  So, I mean,
• 28:44
like if you told me Alex had a
• 28:46
  tour in labrum,
• 28:46
  I would totally believe you.
• 28:48
  Like she was clearly doing
• 28:49
  something there to, uh,
• 28:52
She was not in I heard saw
• 28:54
  someone earlier posted that
• 28:55
  she said mentioned that the
• 28:56
  shorty bar just she just
• 28:59
  couldn't move it the same.
• 29:00
I would think she has a
• 29:01
shorty bar in the gym and
• 29:02
  practices on it.
• 29:03
  This shouldn't be this
• 29:04
shouldn't be something brand new to her.
• 29:07
It would appear she was muscle snatching.
• 29:10
  Yeah, a little bit.
• 29:11
I mean, I saw her get under a few,
• 29:13
but early, I think lately, very muscle.
• 29:17
  Yeah.
• 29:19
  Yeah.
• 29:21
  Jeremy actually went with
• 29:22
  your like your suggestion.
• 29:23
Forty thirty on the muscle ups.
• 29:25
Yeah, I'd have been good with that.
• 29:32
  Last time I checked,
• 29:34
  leaderboard was not updated yet.
• 29:36
  Yeah,
• 29:36
that that's still from before the
• 29:39
  Legos kind of event.
• 29:40
That's what it was going into.
• 29:41
  It was Alex.
• 29:42
Still no scores for the final event.
• 29:44
  Right.
• 29:48
  I mean,
• 29:49
  Heavy Isabel, I would say,
• 29:50
  was arguably the only event
• 29:54
  with no issues, right?
• 29:56
I mean, it went pretty smoothly.
• 30:02
I heard some complaints about questioning.
• 30:05
You know one of my biggest
• 30:06
  pet peeves is wide legs.
• 30:10
  We've talked about that.
• 30:11
  I can't stand when people
• 30:13
  don't bring their legs back
• 30:15
  under their hips.
• 30:17
Um, to me, that's a split jerk,
• 30:20
  just not out front back.
• 30:23
  It's wide.
• 30:23
And I feel like the legs
• 30:25
need to be brought back together.
• 30:27
Um, so I saw a little bit of that.
• 30:29
  That'd be my only complaint,
• 30:30
  but the event went smooth.
• 30:32
  So props on that one.
• 30:34
  You know,
• 30:34
it got done at every event and I
• 30:37
  did like the.
• 30:38
Fifteen, twelve or whatever they did.
• 30:39
  Twelve nine.
• 30:40
  I liked that.
• 30:41
  That was cool.
• 30:41
  Yeah.
• 30:42
I liked the way they went down the floor.
• 30:45
So the next event was stow
• 30:46
  and go major fiasco.
• 30:50
One lane was faster than the other.
• 30:52
They had to cut it to a
• 30:54
  fifty point event and you
• 30:55
  only went against the
• 30:57
people that competed in your lane.
• 30:59
And it was the D ball into
• 31:01
  the back of the gator,
• 31:02
pushed the gator a hundred feet.
• 31:04
  Love that event.
• 31:06
  Love that event.
• 31:07
But can we stop putting a
• 31:09
  push-pull event on the
• 31:11
  floor in these qualifying events?
• 31:14
  They never, ever go well.
• 31:16
  Right.
• 31:18
  Yeah,
• 31:18
  that's frustrating because I feel
• 31:20
like as much as you say you tested it,
• 31:22
  you run it, like...
• 31:24
  there's always when you do
• 31:26
  any type of push sled
• 31:27
  anything something happens
• 31:30
  like they are not identical
• 31:32
  gravel floor something and
• 31:35
I get that even heat to
• 31:36
  heat like gravel could move
• 31:38
  and could be different heat
• 31:39
to heat but like it seems
• 31:42
to me that they should have
• 31:44
  had some foresight that it
• 31:46
  wasn't going to be
• 31:47
identical and done men and women
• 31:51
from the get-go so that it
• 31:53
  because I actually think
• 31:54
  that you still would have
• 31:55
  been next to somebody you
• 31:56
  would still have been like
• 31:57
yes you maybe not be racing
• 31:59
  your gender but they're
• 32:01
  they're never going to be
• 32:02
  identical so all the women
• 32:05
and all the men just run
• 32:07
one lane each I know that's
• 32:10
  hindsight's but the first
• 32:12
  year you did the semi-final
• 32:14
circuit with me was pulling the
• 32:17
  the paper napkin full of
• 32:19
  weights on the floor.
• 32:21
  And it was a fiasco.
• 32:21
  Like it's always a fiasco.
• 32:24
  We cannot figure out friction.
• 32:27
  Right.
• 32:29
  Um,
• 32:29
but I love the concept and it's great
• 32:31
  for an off season comp,
• 32:34
  not great for qualifying.
• 32:35
  Right.
• 32:36
  Agree.
• 32:37
  I like that.
• 32:38
I like the change that they made.
• 32:40
  Doing the fifty points.
• 32:43
  It still is really uneven
• 32:44
because you have a handful of people.
• 32:46
You may have fifty people in
• 32:48
one lane and twenty in the other.
• 32:51
So the furthest you can fall
• 32:52
in the one lane is twentieth.
• 32:54
  Yes.
• 32:54
  Right.
• 32:54
  Like that's where it gets.
• 32:56
  Yeah, it wasn't.
• 32:57
  It wasn't.
• 32:58
  It wasn't split in half.
• 32:59
  Yeah.
• 33:03
  David Johnson.
• 33:04
  Yes, we are.
• 33:05
We talked about a lot right
• 33:06
off the top waiting for any
• 33:08
kind of clarity that may come through.
• 33:10
  Yep.
• 33:15
um then we have pump house
• 33:18
yeah we lost the ropes we
• 33:22
lost the jump rope I think
• 33:24
I mean I think the change
• 33:25
was good there was you know
• 33:29
  some questionable calls
• 33:31
  with the bar muscle pull
• 33:34
  over I like sydney's last
• 33:36
  pullover did she didn't
• 33:37
  even finish she just jumped
• 33:39
off and moved on what the heck
• 33:43
Ken says strong men do that
• 33:44
type of event all the time.
• 33:45
  Wonder if they have issues.
• 33:46
  If you watch strong man,
• 33:48
  they have one apparatus.
• 33:49
Generally, they all use the same one.
• 33:53
If back in the day when they
• 33:55
  pulled the semi,
• 33:55
it was the same semi for
• 33:58
  all the athletes.
• 33:59
  Right.
• 33:59
  But there's usually only ten
• 34:01
  strong men in a competition.
• 34:03
So it's very easy to get
• 34:04
  through those ten.
• 34:09
Um, I liked, I liked pump house.
• 34:12
I liked how it affected the legs.
• 34:14
  Very acid, bad fit, acid,
• 34:16
bad finish for a lot of people.
• 34:20
  Um,
• 34:20
Andrea still bear doing the standup
• 34:22
  finish was ball or move.
• 34:27
  Um,
• 34:29
  thought that that was so
• 34:30
cool um but I really did
• 34:32
enjoy it I but the bike was
• 34:34
  kind of irrelevant if you
• 34:35
  got there first generally
• 34:37
  you finished first yeah
• 34:39
it's gonna be hard to make
• 34:40
up but it happened right I
• 34:42
  mean bill passed me the
• 34:47
  reverse lunge wall ball I
• 34:48
  think was pretty cool
• 34:50
turned out no and I and I
• 34:53
like it's easier as a standard
• 34:55
  knee touches touch.
• 34:57
You don't have to look at depth.
• 34:58
  I agree.
• 35:00
And some people did kind of
• 35:01
catch the ball came off, not straight.
• 35:04
  And then their balance went.
• 35:06
  Yep.
• 35:06
So you pay for like a mistoss.
• 35:09
  Yep.
• 35:09
  I personally loved it.
• 35:11
I think I would prefer that at a comp.
• 35:13
  Yes.
• 35:14
It takes the squat depth out
• 35:15
  of the equation,
• 35:17
  which someone always gets
• 35:18
away with shallow depth at every comp and
• 35:27
  Then we went to Farmnastics.
• 35:32
  Yep.
• 35:32
  Love that our little Carolyn
• 35:34
Prevost in her dead run on
• 35:36
  the last farmer's carry.
• 35:39
  She was hauling.
• 35:40
  She was.
• 35:42
But again, we talked about the pirouettes.
• 35:44
  Yeah.
• 35:46
  And being like,
• 35:47
some people had to enter on
• 35:48
the one side and out the
• 35:49
other and others didn't have to do that.
• 35:53
  Yeah.
• 35:53
  The fingers count,
• 35:55
  but don't fingers don't count,
• 35:57
  but hand does.
• 35:58
That seemed really sketchy at times.
• 36:00
  Yep.
• 36:01
  Some people got their whole
• 36:02
  hand out and brought back
• 36:03
  in and that was fine,
• 36:05
which I think for the men, I like,
• 36:08
that was a pretty small mat
• 36:10
for some of those men with long arms.
• 36:11
  Like, I think that was,
• 36:13
I think you need to allow them.
• 36:16
  Yeah,
• 36:16
I think you needed to allow the hand
• 36:17
  to come out.
• 36:18
  But you definitely needed to
• 36:19
bring them back in, get in line,
• 36:22
and then walk out of the mat.
• 36:25
Yeah, it was an interesting event.
• 36:27
  It was.
• 36:28
And you saw people pick the
• 36:29
  mat up and move it.
• 36:31
  Yep.
• 36:31
Trying to get a more even
• 36:34
  area of grass or something.
• 36:36
  Yeah.
• 36:36
  I feel like...
• 36:37
if I was still out there and
• 36:39
like there was I saw a few
• 36:40
  people like clearly
• 36:41
  frustrated with their spot
• 36:42
I would have just moved to
• 36:43
a different lane if at that
• 36:44
  point like I was people
• 36:46
  were done in a different
• 36:47
lane I'm like I'm gonna go
• 36:48
  over here and hit some
• 36:50
  pirouettes uh back to back
• 36:54
  for soberg uh she's doing
• 36:55
  her best pan check
• 36:56
  impression she was yeah we
• 37:01
  didn't even talk about
• 37:02
  spencer winning a fifth in
• 37:03
  a row I know fourth in a
• 37:04
row I mean fourth in a row
• 37:06
  He cruised on those.
• 37:08
  He looked good.
• 37:15
Jody is asking, I think Jody, gosh,
• 37:18
  everything's flying by.
• 37:19
  Yeah.
• 37:20
It did Prevo make the games.
• 37:21
  We don't think so,
• 37:24
  but we do not know
• 37:25
  officially yet because the
• 37:27
  leaderboard is still not updated.
• 37:31
But we do know the award
• 37:32
  ceremony is going on.
• 37:34
Tristan Patrick has told me that,
• 37:36
  and Justin just confirmed
• 37:37
  that in the chat.
• 37:41
  We believe it's Hattie Cano
• 37:43
  and Alex Kazan.
• 37:46
  Alex is definite.
• 37:48
  Hattie Cano, we believe.
• 37:49
  Will, definite.
• 37:51
  Jorge, we believe.
• 37:53
  Correct.
• 37:56
  We believe.
• 37:58
But after that ending, who the hell knows?
• 38:02
  All right.
• 38:03
  Then we go to the,
• 38:05
the two K row and then the two K row run.
• 38:09
  Yeah.
• 38:11
And I say it that way
• 38:12
because I think that was a
• 38:14
  bogus way of scoring that.
• 38:15
  Yeah.
• 38:19
  What I mean, either,
• 38:22
either scored as the two K
• 38:23
row and then the run with
• 38:26
  just no rest in between.
• 38:27
  Right.
• 38:29
or score it as both together,
• 38:31
but not score the row twice?
• 38:38
  I see what you're saying,
• 38:40
  but I feel like... I don't
• 38:44
  know that it would have
• 38:44
  changed much of anything.
• 38:46
It might have over... I don't know.
• 38:51
I don't know if I agree with that.
• 38:53
You're just making the row count twice,
• 38:55
  and it just...
• 38:59
yeah yeah the I don't know
• 39:01
  sort of the run mattered
• 39:03
  and you could see a
• 39:04
  significant difference like
• 39:08
  there were people who who
• 39:11
  only rode like put a
• 39:13
  hundred percent effort into
• 39:14
the row and then got thirty
• 39:16
  second because they were
• 39:17
  not a good runner right
• 39:19
  they got like they could
• 39:20
  have done the same thing
• 39:22
  and the same thing would
• 39:22
  have happened if they you
• 39:24
  score them as separate events
• 39:29
  They couldn't have done the
• 39:29
same thing if you do it as
• 39:31
  one event only.
• 39:38
  Yeah, I don't know.
• 39:39
  I mean,
• 39:40
  I probably would have preferred
• 39:42
just a run score and just a row score,
• 39:45
  what you're saying, personally.
• 39:48
And give no rest in between the two.
• 39:49
  Right.
• 39:50
Like, I don't think that I would have...
• 39:52
  I did this today.
• 39:54
  I sent you that.
• 39:55
I posted it on the story.
• 39:56
  Um,
• 39:56
and I don't know that I would have rode
• 39:58
  a whole lot faster.
• 39:59
Like that would have never been my play.
• 40:02
Cause I would have, I would have ran hard.
• 40:05
  Like I just would have
• 40:06
pushed on the run and I wouldn't, I,
• 40:10
  I don't know.
• 40:14
  Um,
• 40:14
  now everybody's complimenting your
• 40:16
  physique.
• 40:17
  Um,
• 40:22
Anyway, I'm fine with the event.
• 40:24
I think it was a good event
• 40:25
  and needed to be tested.
• 40:27
I just didn't like the scoring of it.
• 40:29
Why were they not seated on
• 40:31
  the rower to start?
• 40:34
  For what reason?
• 40:35
  And they weren't even allowed.
• 40:38
They had to run with their
• 40:39
  scorecard and then hand it
• 40:41
to their judge as part of the race.
• 40:44
  That doesn't even make sense.
• 40:48
  Damn.
• 40:52
Nobody asked us me to flex.
• 40:55
I had to make people pay for
• 40:56
  that in the future.
• 40:58
  Nope.
• 40:58
Not getting a front double buy.
• 41:02
  Um,
• 41:04
  I'm either,
• 41:06
if you're not going to have them seated,
• 41:08
  don't make them carry a
• 41:09
  judge's card and add the
• 41:11
  judge in as another factor
• 41:12
to them getting onto the rower.
• 41:14
  Right.
• 41:15
  Yeah.
• 41:15
What if a judge is like slow
• 41:16
  at taking it from them?
• 41:17
But like, like Carolyn had said,
• 41:19
  they couldn't even really.
• 41:20
  And then Carolyn's judge
• 41:22
  pointed to the wrong rower.
• 41:23
  Right.
• 41:25
  And the foot,
• 41:26
you don't even know who was
• 41:27
  on before you.
• 41:28
  So like,
• 41:28
what if you came in and after a
• 41:30
  dude who had like,
• 41:32
  their foot pedals on the
• 41:33
five and like your foot, you, you know,
• 41:35
you wouldn't, a woman needs it smaller.
• 41:37
Like that would have frustrated me.
• 41:39
  Cause they would have spent
• 41:40
  time fixing that too.
• 41:44
  Them handing the scorecards
• 41:45
  was the most ridiculous
• 41:46
  thing I've ever seen.
• 41:49
  There's a lot of ridiculous
• 41:50
  this weekend train to live.
• 41:53
  I just,
• 41:54
I'm not even sure that makes my top five.
• 41:56
  Yeah,
• 41:56
they just needed to start on their rower.
• 41:58
  That's just crazy to me.
• 41:59
Just fix your damper, fix your foot pedals,
• 42:04
fix your straps to what you want it.
• 42:08
  A CrossFit says, Jesus,
• 42:09
change that handle to IFBB Jamie,
• 42:10
  not XFit Jamie.
• 42:12
  No, I'm terrible at it.
• 42:13
I would be terrible at that.
• 42:15
  Absolutely horrible.
• 42:17
A Lynn says, I wouldn't have strapped in.
• 42:19
  Yeah, you would have.
• 42:21
  I hardly ever strap in.
• 42:22
  You would have.
• 42:25
guess I do if I'm really
• 42:26
trying to like go fast I
• 42:30
  like my transitions better
• 42:32
  though with like a loose
• 42:33
yeah um and and then this
• 42:43
  gosh they're moving so fast
• 42:44
uh why did they make people
• 42:46
pay for being in the end
• 42:47
  lanes for running clear
• 42:48
  across the floor just to
• 42:49
get to their rower right now
• 42:53
  they'll tell you that when
• 42:55
  they're done with the row,
• 42:56
they were right on the run course.
• 42:58
And then the other people had to run.
• 42:59
  I don't know.
• 43:01
  So I don't know.
• 43:04
  Yeah.
• 43:05
I noticed that with a few
• 43:06
events that I'm like, I mean,
• 43:08
I think even in farm, in farmastics,
• 43:10
  I felt the same way.
• 43:13
If you had the far lane for pirouettes,
• 43:15
  you had to like,
• 43:16
you had to go further to get to your,
• 43:18
  to your,
• 43:20
  Well,
• 43:20
I guess over at squat didn't matter
• 43:21
  so much,
• 43:22
but then you went to get to your
• 43:24
  kettlebells twice.
• 43:25
  You had to go further.
• 43:26
  Right.
• 43:27
  Yep.
• 43:27
That didn't make sense to me.
• 43:29
  Yeah.
• 43:29
There was a lot of weird,
• 43:30
  like staggers that I'm not
• 43:32
  sure people got there.
• 43:35
  Right.
• 43:35
  Their space back.
• 43:37
  Right.
• 43:38
  And that one in particular
• 43:41
was laid out so poorly for those people.
• 43:43
And like, what was it like lane four,
• 43:44
right in the middle of lane fourteenth.
• 43:46
  Cause the end of the,
• 43:48
  the stage or whatever,
• 43:50
the setup for the rig was
• 43:53
  like their lane.
• 43:54
  And then they're like
• 43:55
  running into the person pirouetting,
• 43:56
  trying to get by.
• 43:57
  That was crazy.
• 43:59
Did you notice on the farmer's carry,
• 44:02
  if you were going around
• 44:03
the cone at the same time as someone,
• 44:05
  right.
• 44:05
  People were clanging cone
• 44:07
  kettlebells together.
• 44:08
  Yep.
• 44:12
Didn't factor that into the grip strength.
• 44:14
  Nope.
• 44:15
Did you have to go around the cone?
• 44:20
  Yeah.
• 44:20
  Yeah.
• 44:20
  Okay.
• 44:20
  Yeah.
• 44:20
  At the, at the,
• 44:20
if you're looking at the rig,
• 44:22
they came to you and there
• 44:24
was a cone on every lane
• 44:26
that you had to go around.
• 44:26
  Okay.
• 44:28
Like a big cone, like four foot tall cone.
• 44:36
  Yup.
• 44:36
  Um,
• 44:38
And that just blew my mind.
• 44:40
So, and then we finished up with hero ball,
• 44:42
  which I love the workout.
• 44:45
I love the fact that like
• 44:46
  the legless wasn't,
• 44:48
  was like a gymnastics advantage.
• 44:51
  Right.
• 44:52
  The clean was a strong
• 44:54
  advantage and one was going
• 44:57
to affect the other in some way,
• 45:00
but the time cap was awful on that.
• 45:02
And you and I talked about
• 45:03
that before we got on the air.
• 45:05
I want to see more people
• 45:06
  try the heavy bar.
• 45:08
  I mean, well, yeah,
• 45:10
  like the fact that that's,
• 45:12
that's what we came down to
• 45:14
  for Hattie and,
• 45:15
and Carolyn and neither of them really,
• 45:19
I mean, Hattie got an attempt.
• 45:20
  I mean,
• 45:20
even you saw Carolyn kind of try at
• 45:22
  the end, but like,
• 45:23
I don't even think it was a real attempt.
• 45:26
  It,
• 45:27
if that needed to be a minute longer or
• 45:29
  have preset barbells out there,
• 45:31
  like changing your weight,
• 45:32
  shouldn't be part of it.
• 45:34
they didn't really even get a shot.
• 45:36
And if that's what you want
• 45:37
to see is who can make that last clean.
• 45:39
  And we lost the most
• 45:40
  exciting part of that race.
• 45:42
  The only person that flew
• 45:43
  through that and is the
• 45:44
  person that's strong and
• 45:46
has upper body pulling like nobody else.
• 45:48
  And that's Alex.
• 45:50
  She crushed that workout,
• 45:52
  which everybody in the
• 45:53
  world predicted she would
• 45:54
  crush that workout.
• 45:55
  Right.
• 45:56
But we didn't get to see
• 45:57
  hardly anybody else attempt
• 46:00
  the squat clean with any
• 46:01
  reasonable amount of time
• 46:02
  to actually make it.
• 46:03
  Mm-hmm.
• 46:06
  mean hattie was the second
• 46:08
person to it out of the
• 46:09
  whole thing like lindsey
• 46:11
  lane was the lindsey lane
• 46:12
  like walked to the barbell
• 46:14
  she didn't in the first
• 46:15
heat and that was the best
• 46:17
out of the first heat and
• 46:18
  then hattie got there and
• 46:20
  had an attempt like and
• 46:23
  carolyn got there right
• 46:24
after and got a little bit
• 46:26
of an attempt yeah like she
• 46:29
had to throw those tens on fast
• 46:32
then you saw it spit her out
• 46:34
kind of on the side of the
• 46:35
  screen but man why didn't
• 46:39
  was there a separate did
• 46:41
  the judge follow them from
• 46:42
the rope to the bar was it
• 46:44
the same judge or was there
• 46:45
  a judge I didn't I didn't
• 46:46
  look closely enough to I
• 46:48
  was just I'm just thinking
• 46:49
like man I almost feel like
• 46:50
  during that rope climb the
• 46:51
  judge should have put their
• 46:52
  weights on and then it
• 46:53
  wouldn't have been an issue
• 46:56
I did see too that someone
• 46:59
  asked in the comments that
• 47:01
what about the box jump overs?
• 47:03
  I think they were important.
• 47:03
A lot of people were missing,
• 47:05
  forgetting them.
• 47:07
  Yeah.
• 47:07
  Mentally,
• 47:08
you had to stay in the game to go
• 47:11
  over them.
• 47:12
  And it was just about
• 47:15
staying focused on the task at hand.
• 47:20
  Right.
• 47:22
Larry Young sent me a message today going,
• 47:25
I think it would be the
• 47:26
  funniest thing in the world
• 47:27
if Carolyn qualified on a strength event.
• 47:30
  And it almost happened.
• 47:32
  Well, Carolyn's not weak, so.
• 47:36
But she does like stick up
• 47:38
for having too much strength at an event.
• 47:44
  Sometimes.
• 47:46
  Yeah.
• 47:48
  Yeah.
• 47:50
It looks like Jorge is official.
• 47:53
  I'm hearing that it's the
• 47:54
  leaderboard still not.
• 47:55
  I just refreshed.
• 47:56
  Yeah.
• 47:57
  The leaderboard still is down.
• 48:00
  I mean,
• 48:02
I know that it's a legless rope climb,
• 48:05
ultimately that workout, but once again,
• 48:07
  we, other than Alex,
• 48:08
like we hear all the time,
• 48:11
  people say it's,
• 48:12
it's not heavy enough for the girls.
• 48:14
Like Alex is the only person
• 48:18
  who hit that clean and
• 48:20
so many men hit their cleans.
• 48:23
  Uh,
• 48:23
she always wants heavier deadlift bars.
• 48:25
  Yeah.
• 48:28
  Well,
• 48:28
and like you heard the commentator say,
• 48:30
  I think it was,
• 48:32
  it might've been John
• 48:32
  saying that she didn't even
• 48:34
get a full pool on that one
• 48:35
  attempt on the clean.
• 48:37
  Right.
• 48:37
  And you know that Carolyn
• 48:38
can pull from the floor as
• 48:40
  well as anybody.
• 48:41
  Right.
• 48:42
  Um,
• 48:44
I think that a lot of people
• 48:45
  could have hit that weight
• 48:47
  they just didn't have the
• 48:48
time to get there set up
• 48:50
and make an attempt I don't
• 48:51
know man I think a lot of
• 48:53
  people would have gotten
• 48:54
buried by that bar a lot of
• 48:57
the girls I think the world
• 48:58
will never know I know it
• 49:00
  sucks that we won't know
• 49:03
how many licks does it take
• 49:04
to get the center of a
• 49:05
  tootsie roll tootsie pop
• 49:10
  Yeah.
• 49:11
Cause like five legless in a
• 49:12
row is not going to be fast.
• 49:14
  Right.
• 49:15
  Unless you're Alex Kazan.
• 49:20
  So did you notice that
• 49:23
  Kristen Holta changed half
• 49:25
her weights on the one went
• 49:27
back to her ropes and then
• 49:29
  just did the other half?
• 49:30
  Yeah.
• 49:31
  I do that a lot.
• 49:32
I saw that and I was like,
• 49:33
  that's probably how I would
• 49:34
  have done this workout too.
• 49:36
  I thought that was
• 49:37
  interesting because you get
• 49:38
a little bit of rest before
• 49:39
  they're legless.
• 49:40
You get a little rest before the clean.
• 49:47
  Nate's legless were crazy.
• 49:48
He was fast on those legless.
• 49:51
But he's a tall kid, man.
• 49:53
  He's in that hopper size.
• 49:59
His reach was stressing me out.
• 50:01
I was like, he's going to miss.
• 50:03
He's going to miss by his fingertips and
• 50:07
  I don't know those big
• 50:09
  reaches always stress me
• 50:10
out uh who tested them I
• 50:17
  know luke tested for tfx
• 50:19
but who tested for norcal I
• 50:21
have no idea who to test it
• 50:22
for norcal if you look at
• 50:25
the when blair and ben came to mayhem
• 50:30
  rich and angelo and scott
• 50:33
  vandersloot were there
• 50:35
  trying some of the stuff
• 50:37
  and it looked like rich
• 50:38
fully tested a lot of the
• 50:39
stuff but I don't know if
• 50:41
  it was officially testing
• 50:44
  right so there's that um
• 51:00
So then we've kind of talked about this,
• 51:03
  the vibe of the competition.
• 51:04
I love, I love the vibe of the competition,
• 51:07
  the throwback to what it
• 51:08
used to be that you can do
• 51:10
  CrossFit anywhere in the
• 51:12
middle of a park or whatever.
• 51:14
  I love that,
• 51:15
but I don't think it should be
• 51:17
  a CrossFit games qualifying event.
• 51:19
  Yeah.
• 51:21
I mean, it looks, it looks like a, I mean,
• 51:26
  it's just all outdoor.
• 51:27
Like there's so many vendors it's,
• 51:30
  It looks cool.
• 51:33
It looks like a fun time.
• 51:34
  I mean,
• 51:35
kind of reminds me of like Wadapalooza,
• 51:36
  like people go and spend
• 51:38
the day outside and enjoy the weather,
• 51:42
  enjoy the heat, I guess.
• 51:43
  It's always hot.
• 51:48
  Everyone says it's fun.
• 51:50
  Well,
• 51:52
I think this is a different feel
• 51:53
  altogether than Wadapalooza,
• 51:55
but Wadapalooza can be a shit show too.
• 51:58
yes I just think that's the
• 52:00
nature of the game when you
• 52:01
  have a thousand people at
• 52:04
an event in this many heats
• 52:05
  it like things can't
• 52:08
  they're think there's
• 52:09
  inevitably going to be
• 52:10
  hiccups when you have that
• 52:11
big of an event raf what's
• 52:15
up brother if they had a
• 52:17
  lot of attention to detail
• 52:18
it would be fine the ranch in
• 52:22
  Well, yeah,
• 52:23
  I think anyone controlling a
• 52:24
five person event can make it sweet.
• 52:27
  I think it's just the
• 52:28
  planning and knowing how to
• 52:29
  plan an event outdoors.
• 52:33
  And the other thing about
• 52:35
  the ranch in twenty twenty
• 52:36
  is you didn't have fifteen
• 52:38
  hundred athletes in
• 52:40
  community events going on
• 52:41
  at the same time.
• 52:43
  Literally five.
• 52:44
  That was it.
• 52:45
  Yeah.
• 52:48
  Hi, Raph.
• 52:49
  Welcome.
• 52:50
Raph, I actually want to reach out to you.
• 52:52
  I want to have a team's
• 52:53
  discussion on the show in
• 52:55
  the next week or two.
• 52:59
  I like the interviews that
• 53:00
  they got with Allie.
• 53:02
  Yeah, Allie's the best.
• 53:06
I love that she just knows who she is.
• 53:08
  Yep, agreed.
• 53:16
  They didn't.
• 53:17
They didn't have a wheel to
• 53:18
  measure the cone distance
• 53:19
  from the muscle up rings.
• 53:20
  How?
• 53:20
Like, how do you not, someone will get a,
• 53:25
  like, I don't know.
• 53:26
  That's just crazy to me.
• 53:27
  Uh, they just,
• 53:32
they did count steps and I bought it.
• 53:36
  Uh, yeah.
• 53:37
Just like my dad used to do the,
• 53:39
  the strides in the,
• 53:40
in the backyard for a pitching distance.
• 53:44
  We were dead on.
• 53:48
All right, so the vibe I thought was cool.
• 53:50
  Yeah.
• 53:51
  But again,
• 53:51
I don't think it lends itself to
• 53:53
  CrossFit Games qualification.
• 53:57
  We had a couple withdraw.
• 53:59
  We had Colton withdraw.
• 54:00
  Yeah.
• 54:01
  Mariana Meza withdrew
• 54:04
  because she already got her
• 54:04
  ticket last week.
• 54:09
  Emily admitted she had an
• 54:10
  injury and still needs like
• 54:12
  four weeks to heal during
• 54:15
  one of the interviews.
• 54:18
  Yeah.
• 54:20
  Yeah, I guess.
• 54:21
I don't mean she just said she's deal.
• 54:23
I don't even know if she said an injury.
• 54:25
I feel like she's just dealing.
• 54:26
  She said injury.
• 54:27
  She did.
• 54:28
  I wasn't sure.
• 54:29
  She just said I'm dealing
• 54:30
with a little bit of an
• 54:31
  issue or something.
• 54:33
  Yeah.
• 54:35
  There she is.
• 54:39
  Carolyn, we are so,
• 54:40
so damn proud of you this weekend.
• 54:44
I was a nervous wreck all day today.
• 54:48
She said they needed to keep
• 54:49
  the weights the same and
• 54:49
also increase time caps for females.
• 54:51
  There wouldn't have been as
• 54:53
many tiebreakers and fixes to the event.
• 54:56
They need more time regardless of weights.
• 54:59
Yeah, they definitely needed more time.
• 55:00
  That was very clear.
• 55:07
I want to talk about the broadcast.
• 55:13
  Okay.
• 55:15
  I thought...
• 55:17
  with all the difficulties
• 55:18
they had and not being able to go live,
• 55:21
  I thought it was much
• 55:22
  improved from last week.
• 55:26
  I thought there was full
• 55:27
effort to try to get more
• 55:31
  wide angle shots and see
• 55:33
  more athletes at a time.
• 55:36
I know they had glitching cameras.
• 55:38
I know they're out in the
• 55:39
  middle of a park.
• 55:41
I can give grace on all of that stuff.
• 55:44
  And they really busted their
• 55:45
butt to get back and get it
• 55:47
  uploaded as quickly as possible.
• 55:50
I really did like the wider angles.
• 55:52
And you could tell they were
• 55:54
  really trying.
• 55:55
And even on the split screen,
• 55:57
  you could see them moving
• 55:58
  the center line left or
• 55:59
right to get more people on
• 56:01
  one side or the other.
• 56:03
  I thought they did awesome.
• 56:05
  Yeah, I, I do.
• 56:07
I live drone shots were great.
• 56:08
You could tell that it was a
• 56:11
Taylor and Bryson mostly on the floor,
• 56:13
  backing up,
• 56:14
trying to get the whole floor in.
• 56:16
Um, there's still things that like, I mean,
• 56:19
I feel like I can't even speak on it.
• 56:20
  Cause apparently I'm like
• 56:21
  the worst person in the
• 56:23
  space and shouldn't have an
• 56:24
  opinion on broadcasts.
• 56:25
And so I don't even know if
• 56:27
  I should be putting my
• 56:28
opinion out there because it's useless.
• 56:30
Like nobody wants to hear it.
• 56:34
  It's whatever.
• 56:38
  Carolyn says,
• 56:40
I was proud of myself for the weekend,
• 56:42
  but I'm also sad.
• 56:43
It's just starting to hit me.
• 56:45
The last event wasn't how I
• 56:46
  wanted to finish, of course.
• 56:51
I know if you just would
• 56:54
  have had thirty more
• 56:55
  seconds where we would have
• 56:57
  known which one of you
• 56:59
  could have lifted that bar.
• 57:00
  Right.
• 57:03
  That's it.
• 57:05
  I feel cheated.
• 57:07
And so I can only imagine
• 57:08
  she feels the same.
• 57:11
Like I feel cheated that I
• 57:12
didn't get to see one of
• 57:15
the two of them earn it by
• 57:16
  lifting that bar.
• 57:18
  Yeah.
• 57:25
Man, I'm actually starting to tear up.
• 57:27
  I know.
• 57:28
I was in tears when I saw
• 57:29
  Carolyn and Hattie hug
• 57:32
  after the event too.
• 57:33
  Like I was...
• 57:34
  it's hard because you're
• 57:35
you're so happy for one and
• 57:36
  heartbroken for the other
• 57:39
  and it's just it's a sucky
• 57:40
way to finish the event in
• 57:42
  the weekend and the points
• 57:44
but we are very very proud
• 57:46
of you you looked great all
• 57:47
weekend yeah I just I feel
• 57:51
  we were all cheated because
• 57:52
we didn't get to see one of
• 57:53
  them hit that lift there
• 57:55
just was not enough time yeah um
• 58:01
  Larry Young said, CP,
• 58:03
if you would have hit that last clean,
• 58:04
it would have made my weekend.
• 58:06
  He said that.
• 58:10
  A train to live.
• 58:10
  You did great, Carolyn.
• 58:12
  You should be very proud.
• 58:19
So back on the broadcast thing,
• 58:22
I want to give you the
• 58:23
  opportunity to address this.
• 58:25
  Because last week you said
• 58:26
  something that got really misinterpreted.
• 58:31
I tried to clear it up on my lunch show.
• 58:34
  Yeah, you did great.
• 58:35
  I think I nailed it.
• 58:36
  You did.
• 58:37
I want to give you the
• 58:38
  opportunity to say the same.
• 58:39
Yeah, I mean, like, I get it.
• 58:43
  Like,
• 58:43
  I probably shouldn't even have
• 58:44
  brought Brian's name up
• 58:45
  because all comprehension stops after.
• 58:49
And it was really in no way trying to,
• 58:51
  like, compare the two.
• 58:52
  And I definitely did not.
• 58:55
  If I said,
• 58:56
I went back and watched and I
• 58:57
don't feel like I said that
• 58:59
  Brian's was better,
• 59:00
  but I guess I also didn't
• 59:02
  blatantly say that their
• 59:04
  broadcast was better.
• 59:05
And so what was me for that?
• 59:08
  Um, I.
• 59:10
it's crazy because my only gripe last week,
• 59:13
  I thought it was an
• 59:14
  excellent broadcast last weekend.
• 59:18
I like, like I loved the broadcasting,
• 59:20
  the commentary, the,
• 59:21
my only gripe was the wide
• 59:24
  angle shots and just a
• 59:25
little bit more of the floor.
• 59:26
That was the only thing I wanted.
• 59:27
That was all I was trying to be clear on.
• 59:30
  Um,
• 59:31
  Other than that,
• 59:31
  I thought it was incredible.
• 59:33
  Yes,
• 59:34
I think they had a completely losing
• 59:36
  battle this week.
• 59:38
And so you can't even give good criticism.
• 59:43
We know they didn't have the
• 59:45
  cell tower there.
• 59:45
They had less people on the floor.
• 59:49
  With what they had,
• 59:50
I thought they did great this week.
• 59:51
  I loved the drone footage.
• 59:53
They tried to step back and
• 59:54
  get more shots.
• 59:56
I really wish they could have...
• 59:59
wish they could have done a
• 1:00:00
  better job of being
• 1:00:01
  prepared for starting the
• 1:00:04
  coverage or even syncing it
• 1:00:05
  up with the floor announcer
• 1:00:08
  and getting the person in
• 1:00:10
  footage when they were
• 1:00:11
  announcing names I that was
• 1:00:12
  frustrating to me like not
• 1:00:14
  being like you couldn't see
• 1:00:16
  lane numbers half the time
• 1:00:18
  you're getting names thrown
• 1:00:19
out there half of them are
• 1:00:20
wrong half the time or com like
• 1:00:23
  And I get it.
• 1:00:23
  Bill's just reading a sheet
• 1:00:24
and doesn't always know everyone's names,
• 1:00:26
but you're like, that's not the name.
• 1:00:28
  That's not the name.
• 1:00:29
  That's not the person that
• 1:00:30
  they're talking about.
• 1:00:31
So that kind of stuff gets
• 1:00:32
  frustrating and frustrating.
• 1:00:34
But I don't know what they
• 1:00:36
had this weekend to even coordinate that,
• 1:00:40
if they were on the same
• 1:00:40
  page with when they were
• 1:00:42
  announcing names.
• 1:00:44
That would be my only gripe this weekend.
• 1:00:46
And if you watch Hiller's thing,
• 1:00:48
  the event organizers were
• 1:00:49
  sending people to open
• 1:00:51
  lanes because they were
• 1:00:53
  late for something.
• 1:00:55
  Yeah.
• 1:00:56
You can't call a good event
• 1:00:57
  if you're not given the
• 1:00:58
  right information.
• 1:01:00
  Yeah.
• 1:01:02
  And I think, honestly, like...
• 1:01:04
  going into it,
• 1:01:05
they told us we don't have
• 1:01:06
  internet in there.
• 1:01:07
  We don't have the,
• 1:01:08
  so your expectation is here
• 1:01:10
  instead of here.
• 1:01:11
  Right.
• 1:01:11
  And they,
• 1:01:12
I thought they exceeded my expectation.
• 1:01:15
  So that's the thing.
• 1:01:16
  I had very low.
• 1:01:18
Once I heard they couldn't broadcast live,
• 1:01:20
  knowing that there's twenty
• 1:01:21
five heats because that was my thing.
• 1:01:22
That was my issue last week.
• 1:01:24
  Right.
• 1:01:24
  The fact that syndicate was
• 1:01:26
  such a small floor,
• 1:01:27
it was half the length of last year.
• 1:01:29
  It was only ten lanes.
• 1:01:31
  Like,
• 1:01:31
I just felt like more of the floor
• 1:01:33
  could have been shown.
• 1:01:35
I I don't have any critique this week.
• 1:01:37
Like twenty five lanes is a losing battle.
• 1:01:39
I hate floors that are that big.
• 1:01:40
I don't even like twenty lane floors.
• 1:01:42
  I definitely don't like
• 1:01:43
  twenty five lane floors.
• 1:01:45
  Um, so yeah, I have,
• 1:01:47
I had zero expectation for this week.
• 1:01:50
Just being able to hear from John and Bill,
• 1:01:54
  like who was out there
• 1:01:56
  doing what was good enough.
• 1:01:58
  Right.
• 1:01:58
And I think that Taylor and
• 1:01:59
  Bryson hustled to the lane,
• 1:02:01
to the grouping of lanes we
• 1:02:03
needed to see at the time
• 1:02:05
that we needed to see it.
• 1:02:07
  So, yep.
• 1:02:08
  Yep.
• 1:02:10
there we go it took me a
• 1:02:11
  long time to figure out
• 1:02:12
  that there were lane
• 1:02:12
  numbers um but yeah they
• 1:02:17
were in like chalk at the
• 1:02:18
end of at the end of the
• 1:02:21
  lane like where they
• 1:02:22
  finished right and then
• 1:02:23
  they were on a mat
• 1:02:25
  underneath the rig but you
• 1:02:27
  couldn't see that very much
• 1:02:28
  because they weren't there
• 1:02:31
they still do not have this
• 1:02:32
  leaderboard updated gosh
• 1:02:33
  it's so ridiculous
• 1:02:40
  anyway um carolyn was in
• 1:02:45
  here saying that last
• 1:02:47
  chance qualifier this week
• 1:02:49
  it is actually june twelfth
• 1:02:51
  to the sixteenth is the
• 1:02:55
  last chance qualifier oh
• 1:02:57
  really so it starts
• 1:02:58
  thursday it starts thursday
• 1:03:00
  and goes to monday
• 1:03:06
  yes or tuesday yeah monday
• 1:03:09
  goes through monday but
• 1:03:11
this is the one that has
• 1:03:13
  two separate submission
• 1:03:13
  windows correct I believe
• 1:03:15
  so like a saturday
• 1:03:17
  submission window and then
• 1:03:22
um we have a list of people
• 1:03:26
who still need to do this
• 1:03:28
  Yeah.
• 1:03:28
Our very own Carolyn is going to do it.
• 1:03:30
  Um, I'm guessing Sydney Wells.
• 1:03:32
  Yeah.
• 1:03:33
  Um, I've, you know,
• 1:03:35
I talked to Reese Littlewood last Friday,
• 1:03:38
  which if you're not,
• 1:03:39
if you've not seen that video and that,
• 1:03:41
that show, she is something else for, for,
• 1:03:45
for, for, for, for, for, for, for, for,
• 1:03:48
for, for, for, for, for, for, for, for,
• 1:03:50
for, for, for, for, for, for, for, for,
• 1:03:51
for, for, for, for, for, for, for, for,
• 1:03:52
for, for, for, for, for, for, for, for,
• 1:03:54
for, for, for, for, for, for, for, for,
• 1:03:55
  for, for, for, for, for,
• 1:04:01
  Yeah,
• 1:04:01
and I haven't even had a beer in
• 1:04:02
eighteen months, so there you go.
• 1:04:06
  I enjoyed that part.
• 1:04:08
  Will Emily do it?
• 1:04:11
  Emily Rolfe?
• 1:04:12
  Yeah.
• 1:04:13
I mean, she's got to give it a shot,
• 1:04:15
  right?
• 1:04:15
I mean, she has to, but like she even said,
• 1:04:17
  I need like four weeks.
• 1:04:18
  I'm like, oh,
• 1:04:19
we don't really have that long.
• 1:04:20
  Rebecca Fusile?
• 1:04:21
  Yep.
• 1:04:23
  Apparently Nate Ackerman?
• 1:04:26
  Well, yeah.
• 1:04:27
Hey, will Luke Parker do it?
• 1:04:29
  I don't think so.
• 1:04:34
  don't think I think he's
• 1:04:35
  done he announced his
• 1:04:35
  retirement did the whole
• 1:04:37
thing yeah but I feel like
• 1:04:39
  this is still this season
• 1:04:41
like he might as well take
• 1:04:42
give it a shot I think that
• 1:04:44
he looks at online is just
• 1:04:46
not his best yeah now to be
• 1:04:49
  fair I think carolyn's
• 1:04:51
  pretty good online she is
• 1:04:54
and she's geared up now so
• 1:04:57
yeah and the people that oh
• 1:04:59
do you think kristen holta does it online
• 1:05:03
  Probably she's good online too.
• 1:05:09
  Rawford that Rebecca may
• 1:05:10
  have gotten hurt on the
• 1:05:11
  final event on the clean.
• 1:05:19
Who's covering the last chance qualifier.
• 1:05:23
  Nobody.
• 1:05:24
  Personal media, I guess everybody.
• 1:05:30
  Um,
• 1:05:32
  Yeah.
• 1:05:33
  So I,
• 1:05:35
I'm assuming coming down on a rope climb,
• 1:05:40
  hopefully ankle and not Achilles.
• 1:05:43
  Yeah.
• 1:05:46
  Oh, that'll suck.
• 1:05:47
  Who else do we got?
• 1:05:50
  Anyone else?
• 1:05:52
  Anyone else out of like,
• 1:05:54
  who would normally make it
• 1:05:55
  out of like syndicate Northeast?
• 1:05:56
  I mean,
• 1:05:57
I feel like syndicate didn't have
• 1:05:58
  it's normal.
• 1:06:09
  Spencer, I'm assuming,
• 1:06:10
is going through weeks in a row.
• 1:06:11
  Kyra.
• 1:06:12
  Yep.
• 1:06:17
  It's going to be stacked.
• 1:06:21
  Spencer for sure, yeah.
• 1:06:22
  Sarah Sigmundsdottir.
• 1:06:27
  I mean,
• 1:06:27
we said if she didn't make it out
• 1:06:29
  of Rebel, she wasn't.
• 1:06:32
  She looked good, though.
• 1:06:34
She looked good except for that run.
• 1:06:35
  That run looked awful.
• 1:06:37
  That run looked awful.
• 1:06:39
And yeah, there won't be run on.
• 1:06:40
I can't imagine there will be run online.
• 1:06:42
Maybe they'll try it with this group.
• 1:06:44
  Maybe this will be their.
• 1:06:47
  Maybe they'll do it.
• 1:06:48
Maybe they'll make people go to a track.
• 1:06:54
  The Caitlin Sanders.
• 1:06:55
  Caitlin Sanders.
• 1:06:57
  Yeah.
• 1:06:58
She looked pretty good on a few events.
• 1:07:06
soul bear still out then yep
• 1:07:09
she'll do it yep she's good
• 1:07:11
online too yep um yeah I
• 1:07:20
  thought do you really think
• 1:07:22
  kristen would sign up and
• 1:07:24
  go like she didn't do
• 1:07:26
anything this year other than this event
• 1:07:29
Why did she come to this event?
• 1:07:31
Just to come with the other girls?
• 1:07:32
The rule is that a bunch of
• 1:07:33
  the Krieger athletes signed up.
• 1:07:37
She said, let's go as a group.
• 1:07:39
  And she joined them.
• 1:07:44
  Trista Smith.
• 1:07:48
  Elizabeth Wishart.
• 1:07:49
  Nina.
• 1:07:49
  Yeah.
• 1:07:55
It's going to be jacked for one spot.
• 1:08:00
  leaderboard still not
• 1:08:03
updated for on my end still
• 1:08:04
  showing yeah it's not
• 1:08:07
  updating on my end either
• 1:08:17
  yeah last chance is going
• 1:08:18
  to be very interesting and
• 1:08:20
we have at the same time we
• 1:08:22
  have the community cup yeah
• 1:08:27
  which nobody knows about
• 1:08:28
because they hit it in a release.
• 1:08:33
  We're running it as an
• 1:08:34
  in-house comp on Saturday.
• 1:08:36
So I got to get all my ducks
• 1:08:37
  in a row this week.
• 1:08:39
  Uh,
• 1:08:39
Roth says word on the street is Kristen
• 1:08:41
would have declined if she qualified,
• 1:08:43
but you never know until it happens.
• 1:08:47
  Interesting.
• 1:08:52
uh denise uh do we know the
• 1:08:54
  date dave gave tia to
• 1:08:56
  respond you're jumping
• 1:08:57
  ahead here denise yeah you
• 1:08:58
  looking at our sheet yeah
• 1:09:01
um but we do not know we
• 1:09:03
just know that he did he's
• 1:09:05
  confirmed it twice now can
• 1:09:10
I interview miley wade I will attempt to
• 1:09:15
I have a very big rule about
• 1:09:17
  if the athlete is under
• 1:09:18
eighteen that I talk to the parents.
• 1:09:20
  Yeah.
• 1:09:21
  I go that direction.
• 1:09:34
  Yeah.
• 1:09:34
  Larry said Spin posted
• 1:09:36
  something that we're talking about.
• 1:09:42
Hiller's got to be over the
• 1:09:43
  moon about Bill.
• 1:09:44
  Yeah.
• 1:09:46
  I don't see anything on
• 1:09:50
Instagram or am I on the wrong?
• 1:09:52
  Nope.
• 1:09:52
  Oh, well.
• 1:10:02
Thank you for all the love
• 1:10:03
  on the interview with Reese.
• 1:10:05
I did spell her name wrong
• 1:10:06
  on the reel I cut.
• 1:10:07
  I know.
• 1:10:08
Um, and I did apologize to her.
• 1:10:11
She said it happens all the time.
• 1:10:13
  Um, but I'm,
• 1:10:14
I'm going to cut another piece
• 1:10:15
of it here and I will spell
• 1:10:16
  her name correctly.
• 1:10:21
  Um, yeah,
• 1:10:24
so lots of people need to do last chance.
• 1:10:27
  It's starting at this
• 1:10:27
  weekend and Holy cow.
• 1:10:30
  Um, it's a lot,
• 1:10:33
a lot of people need to do it.
• 1:10:36
The other thing that I was looking at,
• 1:10:38
  there are three athletes
• 1:10:40
  who have qualified for the
• 1:10:41
CrossFit Games who have not registered.
• 1:10:45
  We all know Tia,
• 1:10:47
and we all know that Tia
• 1:10:50
  was given a drop-dead
• 1:10:52
  deadline to register,
• 1:10:55
  and the person behind her
• 1:10:56
  was told to stay prepared.
• 1:10:59
  Yeah.
• 1:11:00
  Yeah.
• 1:11:01
  And I'm wondering if there's
• 1:11:02
  been something said to Dave
• 1:11:04
that he would say stay prepared.
• 1:11:08
Is there a part of this
• 1:11:10
  equation where Tia says no?
• 1:11:17
It is a little weird that
• 1:11:19
  Dave has said this.
• 1:11:22
  I still feel like no,
• 1:11:24
  there's no part of it.
• 1:11:25
I feel like Tia's going and winning.
• 1:11:29
  I don't really think there's any question.
• 1:11:31
  I just don't know that she's like,
• 1:11:36
  maybe she has said like,
• 1:11:37
she will put her focus on
• 1:11:41
CrossFit once the, what is it?
• 1:11:44
  Chicago is done.
• 1:11:46
So like, maybe she just isn't, I mean,
• 1:11:50
  I feel like, you know,
• 1:11:54
But, and I mean, it's not a money issue.
• 1:11:57
Like you can, but I don't know.
• 1:12:00
  She wants to probably be
• 1:12:01
  sure before she takes the
• 1:12:02
spot that she's going to do
• 1:12:04
it and not take someone's spot,
• 1:12:06
even though you can pay for the spot,
• 1:12:08
but why like you only have there,
• 1:12:10
you don't want to end up with there.
• 1:12:12
  So what's been posted on
• 1:12:13
Twitter apparently is Bill, Jorge, Nate,
• 1:12:16
  and Alex, Hattie, Carolyn.
• 1:12:20
But what I'm anxious to see is the points.
• 1:12:22
I'm very anxious to see the
• 1:12:23
  points between Jorge and Nate.
• 1:12:24
  So there's that.
• 1:12:29
  There are two other people
• 1:12:30
that have not registered for the games.
• 1:12:34
Jack Rosema, who just qualified a week ago,
• 1:12:37
so that's not too startling yet.
• 1:12:40
  But then Danielle Brandon.
• 1:12:42
  That's weird.
• 1:12:43
And that has been since the
• 1:12:45
  in-affiliate semifinal.
• 1:12:48
  Now,
• 1:12:48
I could also see her just not getting
• 1:12:52
on it yet, or I don't know.
• 1:12:59
  So of the twenty-seven
• 1:13:01
  athletes going into today,
• 1:13:04
  twenty-five women are registered.
• 1:13:07
  Two are not,
• 1:13:08
  and it's Danielle Brandon and
• 1:13:09
  Tia Claire Toomey.
• 1:13:11
  On the men's side,
• 1:13:12
  twenty-six of the
• 1:13:13
  twenty-seven have registered.
• 1:13:14
The only one who has not is Jack Rosema.
• 1:13:22
  I don't disagree, Craig,
• 1:13:23
  but it's just weird.
• 1:13:26
  It is weird.
• 1:13:27
Like, you train all year for this.
• 1:13:32
  Like, if it were me,
• 1:13:33
I'd be signed up the next morning.
• 1:13:35
  Right.
• 1:13:39
Um, so, but I am not Danielle Brandon.
• 1:13:45
  So anyway, but I just,
• 1:13:48
  I found that interesting.
• 1:13:51
So I wanted to play a little
• 1:13:52
  game of fact and fiction.
• 1:13:53
We've done this fact or fiction.
• 1:13:56
Uh, we did this a couple of weeks ago.
• 1:13:58
  It was pretty interesting.
• 1:13:59
So I'm going to hit you with
• 1:14:00
  some questions.
• 1:14:01
You tell me fact or fiction and why.
• 1:14:04
  Okay.
• 1:14:07
  Fact or fiction,
• 1:14:09
this year's field is one of
• 1:14:13
  the strongest ones compared
• 1:14:14
  to the past few years.
• 1:14:18
  So,
• 1:14:22
you'd almost think fact with being thirty,
• 1:14:26
like you're going to get the best thirty,
• 1:14:28
but I, the way the season has been set up,
• 1:14:31
  I'm going to say fiction
• 1:14:32
  because you still have
• 1:14:35
  these regional only limited
• 1:14:38
  and from places that
• 1:14:41
  wouldn't be competitive.
• 1:14:42
So I'm going to say fiction
• 1:14:45
  because I almost feel like
• 1:14:46
when you get Forty in and
• 1:14:47
you get some of those other,
• 1:14:49
it can make some of those
• 1:14:53
  bottom heat races at the
• 1:14:55
  games matter more than I
• 1:14:57
  think they will here.
• 1:14:58
  Like,
• 1:14:58
I almost feel like the four randoms
• 1:15:01
  that are in there are
• 1:15:02
  really going to be like,
• 1:15:06
  really the bottom.
• 1:15:07
And while that's evident in years past,
• 1:15:10
  like,
• 1:15:10
I think it's gonna be really evident
• 1:15:12
  this year.
• 1:15:13
  Denise s can lift heavyweights.
• 1:15:15
  No, that's too literal.
• 1:15:17
We mean strongest depth of field.
• 1:15:19
  Oh, yeah.
• 1:15:20
  Yeah.
• 1:15:22
And so I'm going to share
• 1:15:25
those registered for the CrossFit Games.
• 1:15:28
  I will blow this up.
• 1:15:30
  You look at these names.
• 1:15:32
And you tell me this is
• 1:15:33
  anywhere near one of the
• 1:15:34
  strongest fields we've had.
• 1:15:36
Mariana Meza, Lexi Neely, Brooke Wells,
• 1:15:39
  Christina Litveticus,
• 1:15:44
Emily DeRoy, Lucy McGonigal, Luisa Marquez,
• 1:15:48
  Maria Camila Quintero, Sydney McElishan,
• 1:15:51
  Annika Greer, Sierra Maya,
• 1:15:53
  Xiong-Yung Choi, Alexis Raptus,
• 1:15:56
  Haley Adams, Olivia Kerstetter,
• 1:15:58
Miriam Von Roer, Fee Sagafi, Amy Kringle,
• 1:16:01
Claudia Gluck, Grace Walton, Ariel Lowen,
• 1:16:04
Maddie Sturt, Abby Domet, Jennifer Muir,
• 1:16:07
  and Lucy Campbell.
• 1:16:12
  Until you see Tia's name,
• 1:16:14
  it's for sure not.
• 1:16:14
  So there you go.
• 1:16:16
  Right.
• 1:16:17
And if we go over to the men, Isaac Newman,
• 1:16:23
Morteza Sagat, Ty Jenkins, Peter Ellis,
• 1:16:27
  Toby Buckland, Jason Hopper,
• 1:16:29
  Harry Lightfoot, Chris Ibarra,
• 1:16:31
  Justin Medeiros, Kalen Souza,
• 1:16:34
  Austin Hatfield, Ricky Garrard,
• 1:16:35
  Roman Krennikoff, Dallin Pepper,
• 1:16:37
  Moritz Fiebig,
• 1:16:39
  Callum Clements, Bronislaw Linkowitz,
• 1:16:41
Tudor Magda, Colton Mertens, Jay Crouch,
• 1:16:44
  Henrique Moriera, Colin Bossard,
• 1:16:47
  Enrico Zanoni, James Sprague,
• 1:16:49
  Nick Matthew, Jeff Adler.
• 1:16:51
  Yeah,
• 1:16:51
I'd say the men is definitely
• 1:16:53
  approaching.
• 1:16:55
  The women's, yeah.
• 1:16:56
  It's a mess.
• 1:17:01
  I just, I feel like...
• 1:17:04
didn't even get the best out
• 1:17:05
of brazil or out of south
• 1:17:07
america we and that was a
• 1:17:09
  regionally based one we
• 1:17:10
didn't get the best out of
• 1:17:14
I don't think we got the
• 1:17:15
best out of africa I think
• 1:17:17
  eddie hollis was way better
• 1:17:19
  uh than christina ludovic I
• 1:17:22
  don't know she got screwed
• 1:17:25
on that last event she got
• 1:17:26
screwed on last one I so
• 1:17:28
  for me I feel like
• 1:17:29
  christina's a little bit
• 1:17:30
  better at gymnastics
• 1:17:32
  and I'm biased that way.
• 1:17:33
  That's the,
• 1:17:34
  that's the athlete I'd rather
• 1:17:35
see make it like Evie's clearly stronger,
• 1:17:39
but they were, they were pretty similar.
• 1:17:45
We're going to skip the next one.
• 1:17:46
Cause we've already touched on it.
• 1:17:48
  Yeah.
• 1:17:48
  I gave you my opinion.
• 1:17:50
And then the last one is factor fiction.
• 1:17:53
  Colton's back injury is an
• 1:17:54
area of concern as we enter
• 1:17:57
  CrossFit games training.
• 1:18:00
Yeah, I'm going to say fact.
• 1:18:01
  Like,
• 1:18:03
when anyone gets a little back niggle,
• 1:18:06
  like,
• 1:18:06
that is not something you want to
• 1:18:08
  mess around with.
• 1:18:08
  And I worry.
• 1:18:11
I worry that he comes back too soon.
• 1:18:13
  I mean,
• 1:18:13
he was willing to come do this comp,
• 1:18:15
  right?
• 1:18:15
Like, there's no quitting that guy.
• 1:18:18
  And I...
• 1:18:22
I just hope he makes sure
• 1:18:23
  it's a hundred percent
• 1:18:25
  before he starts going a
• 1:18:26
  hundred percent into games training.
• 1:18:27
  Like he's got time.
• 1:18:29
  So I, like,
• 1:18:29
I hope he and the coaches can
• 1:18:34
  make sure it's a hundred
• 1:18:35
  percent before he starts
• 1:18:37
  hitting it hard again.
• 1:18:39
  Cause like,
• 1:18:39
you're just going to every two
• 1:18:41
  weeks do something funky
• 1:18:42
  again and deal with that
• 1:18:44
  again for another ten days.
• 1:18:45
  And that's not going to,
• 1:18:47
  that's not how you can
• 1:18:48
  train for the games.
• 1:18:51
There's a lot of facts in the chat.
• 1:18:54
Denise said he heard a pop, so yeah.
• 1:18:58
He said he felt like lava
• 1:19:00
  down his back after.
• 1:19:02
  I'm a guy who's had twelve
• 1:19:04
  back procedures since twenty sixteen.
• 1:19:09
It's not easy to come back
• 1:19:10
  from this stuff right now.
• 1:19:13
I know he is his wellness.
• 1:19:17
  what fitness well or
• 1:19:18
  whatever it is sickness
• 1:19:20
  wellness fitness continuum
• 1:19:22
is all the way over at
• 1:19:23
  fitness right and so he
• 1:19:26
would be able to come back
• 1:19:28
  faster than I could and
• 1:19:31
  hopefully it's not anything
• 1:19:32
  serious but if it's a
• 1:19:34
  bulging disc or something
• 1:19:35
  that just needs rest it's
• 1:19:38
tough for him to have that rest
• 1:19:41
  One, with his job.
• 1:19:42
  Two,
• 1:19:43
with the training he needs to do to be
• 1:19:46
  prepped for the games.
• 1:19:48
  It's crazy.
• 1:19:50
And yes, they are illegal, Lynn.
• 1:19:57
  So is this Biomax an
• 1:20:00
  offshoot of California Peptides?
• 1:20:04
  I think it's a new name.
• 1:20:07
  It's still California Peptides?
• 1:20:08
  Same company, new name.
• 1:20:10
  Oh, Jesus.
• 1:20:10
Why didn't they just say that?
• 1:20:13
Because they said Sarah Cox owns it.
• 1:20:15
  They did.
• 1:20:15
  I never heard that.
• 1:20:16
  I was, like,
• 1:20:17
  super confused the whole weekend.
• 1:20:18
  Like, what is going on?
• 1:20:20
  Like, they rebranded.
• 1:20:29
  Okay.
• 1:20:29
Ross says teams had to drop
• 1:20:31
  off of known individual
• 1:20:32
  games athletes as well.
• 1:20:33
No Noah, no Chandler, no Cara Saunders,
• 1:20:36
no Royce Dunn, no Rich Froning.
• 1:20:39
  Yeah.
• 1:20:42
  We'll talk teams.
• 1:20:43
I'm going to have rough on,
• 1:20:44
we're going to talk it about it, um,
• 1:20:46
in a couple of weeks and
• 1:20:47
what we can do to improve that.
• 1:20:50
Um, so a CrossFit says that, uh,
• 1:20:54
  biomec bio mix bio.
• 1:20:58
  I know.
• 1:20:58
  I forget what it was.
• 1:21:00
  Biomax is a rebrand.
• 1:21:01
  Okay.
• 1:21:04
  I wish they would've just
• 1:21:04
  said formerly care,
• 1:21:05
  California peptides in
• 1:21:06
  their commercial or something.
• 1:21:10
  Colton had a crazy
• 1:21:11
autoimmune scare a couple years back,
• 1:21:13
  lost his mom last year,
• 1:21:14
  been through some roadblocks.
• 1:21:16
I've been through a lot of
• 1:21:17
  roadblocks in my life.
• 1:21:18
  Backs are way different.
• 1:21:22
Without your back, you can't do anything.
• 1:21:29
All right, so that's fact or fiction.
• 1:21:36
Last thing I have on my list is,
• 1:21:39
have you ever heard of the
• 1:21:40
  Red Bull Rancher Strong games?
• 1:21:44
  No.
• 1:21:44
  It sounds like the thing
• 1:21:47
that Hunter did with, what's his face?
• 1:21:52
  The wrestler guy.
• 1:21:53
  Broken Skull Ranch.
• 1:21:54
That's what it sounds like to me.
• 1:21:56
So apparently it's done it like rodeos,
• 1:22:00
  but it's a fitness
• 1:22:01
  competition around like ranching.
• 1:22:04
So like you loop a bull,
• 1:22:07
a fake bull and you pull it
• 1:22:10
like a sled pool or you
• 1:22:12
have to escape out of a burning house.
• 1:22:14
  It's not really burning.
• 1:22:15
  okay like they have like
• 1:22:17
  monkey bars coming down and
• 1:22:19
then all the like so you
• 1:22:21
have to use your fitness to
• 1:22:22
  like get through everything
• 1:22:23
yeah um ariel and gee were
• 1:22:25
  invited along with some ocr
• 1:22:28
  people along with some
• 1:22:30
  american ninja warriors and
• 1:22:33
  ariel won on the female
• 1:22:34
side was hunter there he was not
• 1:22:40
Gee was there on the men's side,
• 1:22:42
and the OCR racer won on the men's side.
• 1:22:45
Noah Olsen did not compete, Lynn.
• 1:22:48
  He may have been there,
• 1:22:49
  but he did not compete,
• 1:22:50
or he wasn't in the top five.
• 1:22:52
Do you know which OCR racer won?
• 1:22:55
I didn't know the name offhand.
• 1:22:58
Something like Tom Goodman or Tom.
• 1:22:59
  Okay.
• 1:23:00
  I don't.
• 1:23:04
  And then Grant, what's his,
• 1:23:07
the Island Ninja was second place.
• 1:23:08
  Okay.
• 1:23:11
  For the men.
• 1:23:15
  But it looked interesting.
• 1:23:16
And Ariel won a belt buckle for the win.
• 1:23:21
  And she goes,
• 1:23:22
something to hang on the wall.
• 1:23:23
And I texted her and I said, you know,
• 1:23:25
a few years ago it was,
• 1:23:27
I just want to sign for my garage.
• 1:23:28
  Yep.
• 1:23:30
  Could you have predicted the
• 1:23:32
  waterfall of stuff you now
• 1:23:34
  have for your garage and
• 1:23:39
now your big home gym that
• 1:23:40
  you're building?
• 1:23:45
  Yeah,
• 1:23:45
Grant is at times the extra buttery bro.
• 1:23:47
  Yep.
• 1:23:50
I'm a huge American Ninja Warrior fan.
• 1:23:53
So I've known Grant, not known.
• 1:23:55
I've known of him for a very long time.
• 1:23:58
  What I think American Ninja
• 1:24:00
  Warrior does better than
• 1:24:01
  anybody is tell a story.
• 1:24:05
  Nobody cares about the
• 1:24:06
  obstacle course until you
• 1:24:08
  know what that person has
• 1:24:09
  overcome in their personal life.
• 1:24:11
  And they are awesome about
• 1:24:13
  showing you in a little
• 1:24:15
  vignette the personal
• 1:24:18
  struggles that person has had.
• 1:24:20
And then they go through the
• 1:24:23
  obstacle course.
• 1:24:24
  And that's when you care.
• 1:24:29
And that's what I have been
• 1:24:30
  begging from CrossFit
• 1:24:32
  forever is tell those
• 1:24:35
stories so then I care who
• 1:24:37
  wins the event.
• 1:24:39
  Yep.
• 1:24:44
But there was a new road to
• 1:24:45
  the games that came out,
• 1:24:47
  Hopper and Pepper.
• 1:24:49
  Ooh.
• 1:24:50
  Sounds like a Laverne and
• 1:24:51
Shirley opening that already came out.
• 1:24:54
  Yeah.
• 1:24:54
  It came out probably on
• 1:24:57
  Thursday or Friday.
• 1:24:59
It was in the middle of everything again.
• 1:25:00
  So nobody saw it.
• 1:25:02
  Nobody.
• 1:25:04
Cause they're just awesome at doing that.
• 1:25:06
Um, it was actually pretty good.
• 1:25:08
  Okay.
• 1:25:09
I would think with those two,
• 1:25:10
it's going to be pretty good.
• 1:25:12
  I think just their
• 1:25:13
  personalities lend it to
• 1:25:15
  being less of like the
• 1:25:16
  workout and more of their
• 1:25:19
  trash talking and their,
• 1:25:22
and like both of them, their wives are,
• 1:25:24
are very free to tell on them.
• 1:25:28
  Oh yeah.
• 1:25:30
  Right.
• 1:25:30
And so that's what a lot of it was.
• 1:25:34
A lot of it was about
• 1:25:35
  Corinne does everything for Dallin.
• 1:25:37
  Like,
• 1:25:37
Dallin doesn't even have to mow the
• 1:25:38
  grass.
• 1:25:39
  I know.
• 1:25:39
Corinne mows the grass and all this stuff.
• 1:25:42
  And they actually show
• 1:25:43
  Hopper mowing the grass.
• 1:25:45
And he's like, because I'm a real man.
• 1:25:47
  I'm out here doing it.
• 1:25:47
  I love it.
• 1:25:48
  I love it.
• 1:25:52
  So, like,
• 1:25:53
it actually was... It was really good.
• 1:25:56
  But those two have self-made
• 1:25:59
  themselves to this...
• 1:26:03
these personalities in the space, right?
• 1:26:07
Their interview with Dave was awesome.
• 1:26:09
  So good.
• 1:26:09
I told you that I texted you.
• 1:26:10
I was like, you got to watch this.
• 1:26:12
  So good.
• 1:26:14
But I, but I want cross.
• 1:26:16
  Okay.
• 1:26:16
  We, now we've seen them.
• 1:26:18
  We know them.
• 1:26:20
  We need to, um,
• 1:26:24
we need to now see the
• 1:26:25
  other people and their personalities.
• 1:26:28
  Yeah.
• 1:26:28
  Yeah.
• 1:26:30
  Right.
• 1:26:31
Because then the more you have,
• 1:26:33
  the more interesting the
• 1:26:34
  competitions become.
• 1:26:39
  Did you notice Jason and
• 1:26:41
  Dallin wearing gloves while
• 1:26:42
  work around the house?
• 1:26:45
Well, it depends on what you're doing.
• 1:26:46
Like I wear gloves if I'm
• 1:26:48
  grabbing up shrubs and
• 1:26:49
  trimming trees and different things.
• 1:26:54
  Because I don't need no
• 1:26:56
  poison oak or poison ivy.
• 1:26:57
  Yeah.
• 1:27:01
Yeah, I suppose some yard work.
• 1:27:04
  But other than that,
• 1:27:06
  I would personally not want
• 1:27:07
  to wear gloves.
• 1:27:08
  I feel like that would
• 1:27:10
  almost make my hands softer.
• 1:27:14
  While working around the house?
• 1:27:15
  Yeah.
• 1:27:16
Why would I want gloves on?
• 1:27:20
  Like out in the yard,
• 1:27:21
mowing and doing all that stuff.
• 1:27:22
  Oh, yeah.
• 1:27:23
  Yard work, I said.
• 1:27:24
  Yes.
• 1:27:25
Yeah, that's what we're talking about.
• 1:27:27
If that's when they do it.
• 1:27:28
  If they're wearing them...
• 1:27:30
  around doesn't do anything I
• 1:27:32
  know he's like everybody
• 1:27:34
  thinks dallin's this tough
• 1:27:35
  guy he doesn't do anything
• 1:27:37
  corinne does everything for
• 1:27:38
  him yeah I've been
• 1:27:39
  following her on instagram
• 1:27:40
  and it's it's interesting
• 1:27:44
  uh with those arms jamie
• 1:27:45
  rip shrubs out with her
• 1:27:46
bare hands I do not I have
• 1:27:49
a pricker bush out in my
• 1:27:50
  garden right now that I'm
• 1:27:51
trying to get rid of and I
• 1:27:53
  I can't I don't know I
• 1:27:55
  don't know how people deal
• 1:27:56
with these things I hate I hate gardening
• 1:28:01
  Yeah, Julie loves it.
• 1:28:03
And of course, with her knee surgery,
• 1:28:04
  she couldn't do it.
• 1:28:05
  So I'm out there like
• 1:28:06
picking weeds and I hate every bit of it.
• 1:28:10
The only thing I want to
• 1:28:11
garden is I have two little
• 1:28:12
  boxes where I grow tomatoes.
• 1:28:17
Because I love tomatoes so much.
• 1:28:18
I just want to eat as many
• 1:28:20
as I can in the summer.
• 1:28:21
  Tomatoes are about the only
• 1:28:22
  thing I can grow.
• 1:28:23
  I have strawberries,
• 1:28:24
but I have a fence around
• 1:28:26
  them and they're still get
• 1:28:27
like the leaves get eaten every day.
• 1:28:29
  I don't know what's happening.
• 1:28:31
  I suck at it.
• 1:28:34
Well, and I'll have you know,
• 1:28:37
my chlamydia is in full bloom again.
• 1:28:40
  Send a pic.
• 1:28:44
And for people new to the show,
• 1:28:45
  that means my clematis vine
• 1:28:48
has opened wide with huge purple flowers.
• 1:28:52
  But I mispronounced it as
• 1:28:53
  chlamydia one time,
• 1:28:54
  and now that's what they
• 1:28:55
  are affectionately known to
• 1:28:56
me for the rest of my life.
• 1:28:58
  That's so good.
• 1:29:03
  but yeah the big purple
• 1:29:04
  flowers are here up the
• 1:29:06
  trellis looking awesome um
• 1:29:10
and then I have two huge
• 1:29:12
  hibiscus in the backyard

now that are um pink and
• 1:29:17
  purple and they're they're
• 1:29:19
  amazing but those don't
• 1:29:20
  take gardening those are
• 1:29:21
just big trees yeah um and
• 1:29:25
  I love those I love I don't
• 1:29:28
  mind planting like a tree
• 1:29:29
and then letting it grow big yeah
• 1:29:32
That doesn't take a lot of work.
• 1:29:35
I have butterfly bushes in the backyard.
• 1:29:38
I've got to trim down every fall.
• 1:29:42
  We have tons of butterflies
• 1:29:43
  because of that.
• 1:29:46
  I have two cherry trees,
• 1:29:48
but I think I may have killed those too.
• 1:29:50
  I don't know.
• 1:29:53
  Jody Lynn, hibiscus are seasonal.
• 1:29:55
Do you bring them in during the winter?
• 1:29:56
My hibiscus are fifteen feet tall.
• 1:30:03
  They are massive.
• 1:30:04
  They are trees.
• 1:30:07
  So, no,
• 1:30:08
I do not bring them in in the winter.
• 1:30:13
  My butterfly bushes probably
• 1:30:14
  get eight feet tall.
• 1:30:21
  Purple sounds infected.
• 1:30:25
  Good stuff.
• 1:30:29
  Yeah.
• 1:30:31
  All right, well.
• 1:30:32
We're at the ninety ninety minute mark.
• 1:30:36
  Jody, when it blooms,
• 1:30:38
I will take a picture of both hibiscus.
• 1:30:40
  I'll put them on Instagram.
• 1:30:49
  I don't know.
• 1:30:50
  They're just how are they
• 1:30:51
  surviving an Ohio winter?
• 1:30:52
  They are very hardy.
• 1:30:54
  I don't.
• 1:30:56
  Maybe it's a different it's
• 1:30:57
  maybe it's not like your
• 1:30:58
  typical Hawaiian hibiscus.
• 1:31:00
  It's but.
• 1:31:03
  They're massive.
• 1:31:07
In my backyard, it's somehow so fertile.
• 1:31:10
  It grows everything.
• 1:31:15
  Enough for the Lego picks.
• 1:31:16
  I like the Lego picks.
• 1:31:20
I'm out of Legos right now.
• 1:31:21
That was my last set that I had.
• 1:31:25
It's going to go right there.
• 1:31:29
You'll be able to see my
• 1:31:30
  Super Nintendo set.
• 1:31:32
  right behind me I have
• 1:31:40
  butterfly bushes too ken
• 1:31:42
  and they're like eight feet
• 1:31:43
tall but I do cut them down
• 1:31:45
every year it is so fertile
• 1:31:51
  that my chlamydia turned
• 1:31:52
  purple it is yes any
• 1:31:59

• 1:32:05
  One last look.
• 1:32:11

• 1:32:12
  It's in there.
• 1:32:13
  Sixty four point five to
• 1:32:14
sixty six for Hattie and Carolyn.
• 1:32:19
  Point and a half.
• 1:32:21
  Wow.
• 1:32:22
Point and a half between the ladies.
• 1:32:24
  Boys.
• 1:32:27
  I'm at boys.
• 1:32:30
  It is for a tie.
• 1:32:34
  That's ridiculous.
• 1:32:40
So Jorge had the higher finish.
• 1:32:43
  I don't know.
• 1:32:43
  Cause didn't,
• 1:32:44
didn't Nate win the last event?
• 1:32:46
No, I didn't win the last event.
• 1:32:50
Jorge won the stone go and
• 1:32:54
Nate doesn't have, Nate has a second.
• 1:32:57
So a fifty point event when
• 1:33:00
he got him more than a
• 1:33:02
  hundred point second place win.
• 1:33:05
  Yeah, that sucks.
• 1:33:05
I feel like I feel like he
• 1:33:08
  would have had an extra
• 1:33:09
place in there if that we
• 1:33:11
  mishap hadn't happened.
• 1:33:12
  That sucks.
• 1:33:16
  Gosh, that's heartbreaking.
• 1:33:23
  All right.
• 1:33:23
  I are dark.
• 1:33:26
  Crowd dropped by half.
• 1:33:27
