  [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to make this like a two-part series here where we made the arguments for the Jack Wars offense being better in one episode and then made the argument for the Jack Wars offense actually being worse in another episode.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I could not come up with five reasons that I thought the Jack Wars offense could actually be worse in 2026 and it wasn't 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, this is an offense when you take the entire year into totality, it

  [SPEAKER_00]: ended up being a really, really good offense last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, more so down the stretch in the back half of the season, when the teams started to figure it out and some different things kind of went their way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I just couldn't come up with five reasons that the Jaguar's offense could be worse in 2020, 2026 and it wasn't 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the two reasons I could come up with,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Look, if Colvane Lane and can't play, or isn't the same player when he does get on the field, like these different things, if Walker Little has to be your starting left tackle, that's not as good as what you had when you were playing at your very best last year with Colvane Lane and I think that that could be a point of regression and then

  [SPEAKER_00]: you also have like, I don't think you're getting worse in the running game by any stretch of the imagination.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I honestly don't think that you can make the argument that you're worse in the running game, but I think you can make the argument that you are worse at the running back position in the passing game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis ETN was an excellent, excellent, receiving back last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He caught 78% of his targets and had seven touchdowns.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he made plays all over the field as a receiver.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't just at the line of scrimmage.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He had 41 catches seven touchdowns, 340 yards.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like it is very possible that you don't get that level of receiving production and explosiveness from your running back room this year, San Stravacy Tien.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's entirely possible.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Those are literally the only two things I can point to, that make me have a little bit of pause, like could that part of the offense be a little bit worse.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like if Cole VanLanan isn't the Cole VanLanan and we saw last year at Left Tackle, if you are unable to get the same type of production from the running back spot at the receiving game, those are two areas that I think you point to.

  [SPEAKER_00]: arbitrarily kind of bring up as, well, opposing defenses are going to actually have tape on this offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're going to know what's coming, et cetera.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I personally think that Liam Cohen is gonna stay a step ahead of most defenses.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen, Grant Udinsky and company.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This is a great, great offensive coaching staff and they go up against a great, great defensive coaching staff every day and work with that staff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't really see that as a good faith argument and I can't come up with anything else.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I couldn't come up with, I couldn't do a whole show on that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This is not going to be an offense that's swimming in the Atlantic Ocean with a red flag rip current at the beginning of the year, which that's absolutely what was happening last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: From a pre-snaps standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This offense was just lost.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like Trevor Lawrence was going through it a little bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The offense of line was going through it a little bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There are severs where like having so many issues getting lined up and getting set when the jag wars were canning the plays at the line of scrimmage.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then it all settled down.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They got enough time on task, right, to really figure it out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the pre-snap penalties greatly reduced.

  [SPEAKER_00]: reduced and you saw an uptick in consistency and efficiency and all of those things and that did coincide with Jacobi Myers arriving and Britain strange coming back, but

  [SPEAKER_00]: Another cool thing about this, Jacobi Myers didn't even really know the playbook last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He should be more comfortable and even better and have more chemistry with Trevor Lawrence and have more chemistry with the rest of the receivers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's an underrated storyline I think for Jacobi Myers just having an actual offseason here in Jacksonville with this football team with Trevor Lawrence, et cetera, and potentially

  [SPEAKER_00]: being able to be at his best more consistently when it matters most, which I think he generally was, but there was a couple plays against the bills where it was like, could you got, could you have gotten more added to Kobe Myers on those plays?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I just think the fact that they're going into year two,

  [SPEAKER_00]: This isn't swimming in the deep end.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This isn't just just being lost out there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's going to make a big difference when you look at the totality of what the Jai Ward's offense for an entire season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, they were in a pretty good spot at the end of last year, just from a comprehension standpoint, being able to function fully.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think that will be even a step ahead when you get to week one of 2026, even compared to where you were in the wildcard round of 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned the Travis ETN thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Even though I think ETN, it's possible you won't be able to replace his production in the receiving game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You are going to have a more consistent running game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I feel very confident about that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis ETN was one of the least.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, efficient runners in terms of success rate, that was a starting back last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was ranked in the mid 40s in terms of success rate, which is success rate is just literally exactly what it sounds like.

  [SPEAKER_00]: How often was your run a success?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And,

  [SPEAKER_00]: You bring in Chris Rodriguez, who was top five.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Basel Tutan, who was top five and success rate.

  [SPEAKER_00]: These guys, I think, are going to offer a more consistent running game, combined with the fact that Liam Cohen's main thing on offense this off season was removing the stink of the running game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He did not like having such an inconsistent running game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Part of that, a little bit of that was, I think, utilization of the players that they had, a little bit of that was Travis C.T.N.

  [SPEAKER_00]: has always struggled a little bit with vision.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and making the right read at the right time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Part of that was offensive line injuries, going against really good running games in the back half of the year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But there, there, we're going to be a tougher running team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Bacial tuton is a tougher runner than Travis ETN.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And Chris Rodriguez is a much tougher runner than anybody that they have last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think the more consistent running game is going to be huge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They they've focused on that from a schematic and just coaching standpoint this off season Brian Picucci comes in as a run game coordinator He's been with Liam Cohen for years and I think that that chemistry and cohesion is going to help a good bit So yeah, I think the running game will be more consistent 12 personnel everybody's been talking about it the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They go draft two tight ends They extend Britain strange the tight end position is bad

  [SPEAKER_00]: in Duval in a big way, 12-person now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you can get so creative and explosive in 12-person now when you actually have the bodies to do it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars wanted, and Liam Cohen wanted to do more 12-person else stuff last year, and it wasn't like they didn't do any of it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the combination of Britain's Strange and Quentin Morris was pretty solid overall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Early on in the year, there were trying things with Johnny Month, there were trying things with Hunter Long, and it was just too inconsistent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It just really was so inconsistent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then you talk about 13 personnel too, like you can get.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can get all three of your tight ends on the field at the same time, whether that be strange, forkature, and cozyle, or strange forkature in Morris.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They do still have a hundred long at this point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that Ilby on the roster come the regular season, but yeah, I think that the different ways you can scheme things up, having a group that can actually effectively run 12 personnel.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you can create explosive plays for Brian Thomas Jr. for Parker Washington for Travis Hunter out of 12 personnel.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you can pass effectively out of 12 personnel, it can also open up the running game in 12 personnel in a big way, because like you get out in the jumbo package, and obviously a lot of times you run in the ball, but the opponent has to respect the pass, and I think not only will they have to respect the pass in 12 personnel for the Jaguars, they're gonna have to really prepare for it, and it's gonna just create problems, because let's say you have Britain Strange and Nate Borkachar out there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know how Britain's strange getting freed up to be more of that receiving type tie-dend and Borkutcher, let's not forget like he can receive like he can catch passes, he can run routes So that that's an issue that they can present.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Let's say you get Britain's strange and Tanner cozyle out there Like Britain's strange is he going to be blocking is he going to be receiving you have to worry about that part of it But then Tanner cozyle

  [SPEAKER_00]: is a really talented receiving tight-in in his own right and then you also have the fact that there's two other receivers out there that you have to deal with and you can move these guys around the formation, you can create bunch looks, you can basically create shout out to the athletic football show they were talking about this today with Nate Tyson, you can create a slot position even out of 12 personnel.

  [SPEAKER_00]: which could be advantageous for you name it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington, Jacobie Myers, Travis Hunter, there's just so much you can do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that is going to really help this offense be more multiple, be more challenging for defenses to prepare for, because their bread and butter last year was 11 personnel.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If they can have their red and butter be 11 and 12 personnel, that can really change things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It can also open up play action a good bit, which I think you could see a lot of this year for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think the Jaguars are going to get the screen game going.

  [SPEAKER_00]: One of the biggest selling points for fans and just people around the league talking about the Jaguars getting Liam Cohen was, man, the Jaguars screen game has been so bad for so long.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen is one of the best screen designers and playcolors in the game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that just didn't come to fruition last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, two of the things that he had been so good at in Tampa, the screen game and the running game didn't really get going the way that he would have liked last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the screen game will get going.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have the personnel to to effectively

  [SPEAKER_00]: effectively, you know, utilize both the running back screens and wide receiver screens and even tight end screens as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that that's going to be something that they're able to get going just based off of focusing on that during the off season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think it was a little flukey how poor it was last year for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington's a YAC guy, Travis Hunter's a YAC guy, BTJ can be effective on screens.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We saw that during his rookie year, Britain's Strange.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I just think, and obviously, Basel Tutan should be excellent in the screen game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You get him some space.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Utilize that speed and the creativity he started to show off a little bit more this off season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think they'll get the screen game going too, which just again makes you more multiple, makes you more versatile.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I honestly believe Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter will really make a huge difference this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Brian Thomas Jr. step up and play will make a huge difference.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I also think Travis Hunter actually having a better understanding of what it takes to be a receiver in this offense is going to be huge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and the way he's been working to get back and to be mentally and physically taking reps despite not actually being able to practice with the team in full.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think that those two guys are going to make a big difference in the receiving game too and the passing game overall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited for this offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I do think it will be better.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like I think the end of year numbers will be better than it was in 2025 just because

  [SPEAKER_00]: everything we just talked about and I think it'll happen more consistently instead of just like the back half of the year and then I think it'll be better when it counts towards the end of the season too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that the offense will be more prepared for the big moments, more prepared to win football games against really good teams at the end of the year.
