- 1:42SPEAKER_22: Well, I'm sure he has.
- 1:43SPEAKER_22: I would be too, Ed.
- 1:44SPEAKER_14: If I became a doctor, I'd be like, you have ugly itis.
- 1:48SPEAKER_14: Trust me, I'm a doctor.
- 1:49SPEAKER_14: He kind of did the same.
- 1:51SPEAKER_22: My my oldest uh out in Ohio was uh was um suffering some health issues or whatever, and he he prescribed something and he said, Trust me, I'm a doctor.
- 2:01SPEAKER_14: See, I would I would totally be doing it all the time.
- 2:04SPEAKER_14: All the time.
- 2:05SPEAKER_22: Um so yeah, so Jude uh took his um oath and is uh officially uh able to practice law in the state of Maine.
- 2:13SPEAKER_22: Nice.
- 2:14SPEAKER_22: And he's he's also able to practice law in the state of New Hampshire.
- 2:17SPEAKER_22: He did not have to uh take an oath because he s if I remember right, he doesn't even have to take the bar in New Hampshire um because of his scores and because he was on the law review and blah blah blah blah and you know all this stuff, yeah.
- 2:33SPEAKER_22: He's already automatically able to practice law in the state.
- 2:37SPEAKER_14: Well I heard a rumor that you don't even need there's some places where you could practice law without having gone to law school.
- 2:44SPEAKER_14: You just have to pass the bar.
- 2:45SPEAKER_22: Really?
- 2:46SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 2:47SPEAKER_22: Well, I think I mean does that make that make sense?
- 2:50SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I mean, you know.
- 2:51SPEAKER_22: If you can if you're smart enough to smart enough to pass the bar.
- 2:54SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 2:55SPEAKER_14: Well, it's like that move.
- 2:56SPEAKER_14: Remember that movie uh catch me if you can?
- 2:58SPEAKER_14: Yes.
- 2:58SPEAKER_14: That that guy, yeah, he took the bar and he passed it.
- 3:01SPEAKER_14: He wouldn't he never went to law school.
- 3:03SPEAKER_22: Well, it's like um that TV show, Suits.
- 3:05SPEAKER_22: Have you ever seen that?
- 3:06SPEAKER_22: No.
- 3:06SPEAKER_22: There's this there's a TV show and this this guy goes into this law firm.
- 3:10SPEAKER_22: It's a it's a very um famous clip.
- 3:13SPEAKER_22: He goes into this law firm and he says, Give me a job.
- 3:16SPEAKER_22: He's like, No, you never went to law law school.
- 3:19SPEAKER_22: And he's like, Well, open that.
- 3:20SPEAKER_22: That's the that's the law book, right?
- 3:22SPEAKER_22: That's the open it up and and ask me anything.
- 3:24SPEAKER_22: So he's alright.
- 3:25SPEAKER_22: So he opens it up and he asks him this question and he he gives him the answer like word for word.
- 3:31SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 3:31SPEAKER_22: And he says, Yeah, that's a party trick.
- 3:33SPEAKER_22: He's like, no, test me again.
- 3:35SPEAKER_22: And he's so he's like, uh okay, I'll hire you.
- 3:38SPEAKER_22: And that's the show.
- 3:40SPEAKER_22: You know, and so he's he's not a he did not go to law school, but he can he pass the bar or something.
- 3:45SPEAKER_22: I mean he's yeah, he knows his he knows his stuff, right?
- 3:47SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 3:48SPEAKER_22: Uh Jude, however, did pass the bar in Maine.
- 3:51SPEAKER_22: Yes.
- 3:51SPEAKER_22: And uh and so now he's wicked smart.
- 3:54SPEAKER_22: So uh it was quite funny.
- 3:57SPEAKER_22: Um so his uh he works at a local law firm and the and the lawyer from the law firm took us out to eat afterwards because he was his sponsor at the Maine Supreme Court.
- 4:07SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 4:08SPEAKER_22: And uh it was very nice of him to take us out, and he said a couple things that were funny.
- 4:11SPEAKER_22: He said, uh he asked uh Jude, he said, so you have anything lined up?
- 4:15SPEAKER_22: And Jude's like, actually, yeah, I have seven appointments this week.
- 4:19SPEAKER_22: So he's already meeting with people individually as a lawyer this week.
- 4:23SPEAKER_22: Um which is pretty cool.
- 4:25SPEAKER_22: But then he asked us, he says, so how how how soon should I uh put Jude on WAGM for they do this matter of law?
- 4:34SPEAKER_22: Oh yeah, they're they're they're the ones that sponsor that.
- 4:36SPEAKER_22: Yeah.

- 4:38SPEAKER_22: I said, Hey, as soon as possible.
- 4:40SPEAKER_14: Yeah, put him on right now.
- 4:41SPEAKER_14: So we can make fun of it.
- 4:41SPEAKER_22: Film it now.
- 4:42SPEAKER_22: No, just kidding.
- 4:43SPEAKER_22: Um so yeah, no, he's in a good place.
- 4:46SPEAKER_22: Good.

- 5:01SPEAKER_22: You might have, yeah, you might have to do it.
- 5:02SPEAKER_22: I think I just did.
- 5:03SPEAKER_22: I think I just did.
- 5:04SPEAKER_22: If I have if I haven't, I I just did.
- 5:06SPEAKER_22: So Judah is also expecting baby number two.
- 5:08SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 5:09SPEAKER_22: Uh in May.
- 5:10SPEAKER_22: So I don't think it's a secret.
- 5:11SPEAKER_22: I think they've they've told a bunch of people.
- 5:12SPEAKER_14: So yeah, I can't wait for baby Doug.
- 5:15SPEAKER_14: It's gonna be awesome.
- 5:17SPEAKER_22: They're hoping for a girl.
- 5:18SPEAKER_14: I don't care.
- 5:20SPEAKER_14: Doug.
- 5:21SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_14: Uh I have a friend.
- 5:23SPEAKER_14: Her name is Rudy.
- 5:25SPEAKER_14: True.
- 5:27SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 5:28SPEAKER_22: Is it Miss Judgeness?
- 5:30SPEAKER_22: Huh?
- 5:30SPEAKER_22: Is it Miss Judgeness?
- 5:32SPEAKER_22: What?
- 5:32SPEAKER_22: Her name.
- 5:33SPEAKER_22: No.
- 5:33SPEAKER_22: No.
- 5:33SPEAKER_22: No.
- 5:34SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 5:35SPEAKER_14: Not even close, dude.
- 5:36SPEAKER_22: You would tell me if Yeah.
- 5:37SPEAKER_22: No, you wouldn't.

- 5:45SPEAKER_22: And last night um my youngest um played a soccer game and had a hat trick.
- 5:51SPEAKER_22: Three so scored three goals.
- 5:54SPEAKER_22: Yep.
- 5:54SPEAKER_22: Um was a great uh was a great win for the the team.
- 5:59SPEAKER_22: And uh now she's up there.

- 6:02SPEAKER_22: Yeah, now she's upstairs in bed.
- 6:04SPEAKER_22: Yeah, she's she's not feeling she's got another game tomorrow.
- 6:07SPEAKER_14: She's like, I can I can pass now.
- 6:11SPEAKER_22: No, that's not funny.
- 6:12SPEAKER_22: I know.
- 6:12SPEAKER_22: Uh no, pass the ball.
- 6:14SPEAKER_22: Oh, pass the ball.
- 6:15SPEAKER_22: She is um she's got another game tomorrow.
- 6:17SPEAKER_22: Her last game of the season is against Caribou tomorrow.
- 6:20SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah, the big the big rivalry.
- 6:21SPEAKER_22: We'll see, we'll see if she actually makes it.

- 6:27SPEAKER_22: And throw up on them.
- 6:28SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 6:29SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 6:29SPEAKER_14: Puke goals.
- 6:31SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 6:32SPEAKER_22: Uh let's see.
- 6:32SPEAKER_22: What else is going on?
- 6:33SPEAKER_22: Did we miss anything from last week?
- 6:35SPEAKER_22: That we we we covered everything, right?
- 6:36SPEAKER_22: I think.
- 6:37SPEAKER_22: Sure.
- 6:38SPEAKER_22: I lost this week in fantasy football.
- 6:39SPEAKER_22: Me too.
- 6:40SPEAKER_22: Uh to my son.
- 6:42SPEAKER_14: I lost to your son too.
- 6:43SPEAKER_22: My other son.
- 6:44SPEAKER_22: Yes.
- 6:44SPEAKER_22: Yes.
- 6:45SPEAKER_14: Um which is, you know, I was hoping to Yeah, I looked at the score on Monday and it was like he was 99% probable of a win, and I was one percent.
- 6:53SPEAKER_14: I was like, I still got a chance.
- 6:54SPEAKER_22: I was so we were coming back Monday night, and I was looking at this the the app and I said, uh, Finn, you're gonna beat me.
- 7:02SPEAKER_22: He's like, Yeah, I even have a guy out.
- 7:04SPEAKER_22: You know, and they didn't I didn't even know it.
- 7:07SPEAKER_22: And so so uh I was at like um uh I was at 98.
- 7:12SPEAKER_22: No, I was at 94.
- 7:13SPEAKER_22: We were both at 94, and he had two guys left to play Monday night.
- 7:18SPEAKER_22: Uh well one was the defense and one was the the quarterback.
- 7:22SPEAKER_22: Okay?
- 7:23SPEAKER_22: And so I was like, Yeah, you're you're definitely gonna beat me.
- 7:26SPEAKER_22: And then it went up to like 104 and I was still at 94.
- 7:32SPEAKER_22: I was like, Yep, see, there you go.
- 7:33SPEAKER_22: You you beat me.
- 7:34SPEAKER_22: And then like an hour later, I looked and it was back to 94.
- 7:38SPEAKER_22: So so the defense probably lost something.
- 7:42SPEAKER_22: Yeah, so that we were tied again at 94.
- 7:45SPEAKER_22: I'm like, is there a chance?
- 7:47SPEAKER_22: But the probability of me winning was like so.
- 7:50SPEAKER_22: He did.
- 7:50SPEAKER_22: He did eventually beat me.
- 7:51SPEAKER_14: Not by much.
- 7:52SPEAKER_14: I do like that new feature on the ESPN that probability of winning.
- 7:56SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I like that.
- 7:57SPEAKER_14: I like that feature.
- 7:57SPEAKER_14: Yeah, so do I.
- 7:58SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 7:59SPEAKER_22: Um so yeah, there's that.
- 8:01SPEAKER_22: So I'm I'm one in one.
- 8:02SPEAKER_22: Are you one in one?
- 8:03SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 8:04SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 8:04SPEAKER_22: Um, I beat who did I beat?
- 8:06SPEAKER_22: Cousin Larry.
- 8:07SPEAKER_22: I think uh Bob is in first place right now.
- 8:09SPEAKER_22: Yep.
- 8:10SPEAKER_22: Uh and then and then Well, let's check, let's check the standards.
- 8:14SPEAKER_22: And then Jude, and then me.
- 8:18SPEAKER_14: And then well, you you deserve a W, man, because you had such a terrible season last week.
- 8:23SPEAKER_14: Oh my word, yeah.
- 8:24SPEAKER_14: Yeah, and I've never seen anybody with such a bad season.
- 8:26SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 8:27SPEAKER_14: Ever.
- 8:28SPEAKER_14: I've been playing fantasy football for a long time.
- 8:31SPEAKER_14: It was horrible.
- 8:32SPEAKER_22: It was horrible.
- 8:33SPEAKER_14: I didn't lose by much.
- 8:33SPEAKER_14: I only lost by five points.
- 8:35SPEAKER_14: So that's that's not that's not bad.
- 8:37SPEAKER_22: I mine was fairly close too, I think.
- 8:39SPEAKER_14: Uh let's see.
- 8:40SPEAKER_14: Let's look at league standings.
- 8:43SPEAKER_14: League standings.
- 8:44SPEAKER_14: I think it's Bob, Jude, and Finn.
- 8:48SPEAKER_14: It's Finn, then Eli, then Anna Marie, then Liv, then me.
- 8:55SPEAKER_14: Oh wow.
- 8:56SPEAKER_14: Then Johnny, and then cousin Larry is bringing up.
- 8:59SPEAKER_14: He's in the he's he's a he's a cellar dweller.
- 9:02SPEAKER_22: Cousin Larry had a great year last year.
- 9:03SPEAKER_14: Yeah, he did.
- 9:04SPEAKER_14: Well, he won the whole thing last year.
- 9:05SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 9:05SPEAKER_14: That's what I thought.
- 9:06SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 9:06SPEAKER_14: So karma is coming up like a biotch.
- 9:11SPEAKER_22: So um what else we got?
- 9:14SPEAKER_22: Anything local to talk about?
- 9:15SPEAKER_22: Anything in our lives to talk about?
- 9:17SPEAKER_14: Well, we're playing Saturday.
- 9:19SPEAKER_22: Yes.
- 9:19SPEAKER_22: The we're opening for the Mallet brothers.
- 9:21SPEAKER_22: That's what I keep telling people.
- 9:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:23SPEAKER_14: Everybody's a wow, and I'm like, it's not that important.
- 9:26SPEAKER_14: Not really.
- 9:27SPEAKER_14: We're not even gonna be in the same zip code.
- 9:30SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 9:30SPEAKER_14: So well, we are.
- 9:31SPEAKER_22: Well, yeah, but if I mean if it's gonna be pretty close.
- 9:33SPEAKER_22: If it's set up like it was last year.
- 9:34SPEAKER_14: We're gonna be pretty close to the Blaine line, I think.
- 9:38SPEAKER_22: Um I'd be interested to see because they have a couple other bands that are playing.
- 9:42SPEAKER_22: I'd be interested to see if any of those bands play songs that we play, because one of them is called the Cover Tones.
- 9:46SPEAKER_22: And they're they play all covers.
- 9:48SPEAKER_14: No, I doubt it.
- 9:48SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 9:49SPEAKER_14: It's probably just a clever name.
- 9:51SPEAKER_22: No, it's it.
- 9:51SPEAKER_22: I I read it.
- 9:52SPEAKER_22: It's it they play covers.
- 9:54SPEAKER_14: Doesn't mean anything.
- 9:55SPEAKER_14: All right, we play.
- 9:57SPEAKER_14: We play originals, we don't tell anybody.
- 9:59SPEAKER_22: That's true.
- 10:00SPEAKER_22: We'll play a song from Chris Stapleton.
- 10:01SPEAKER_22: We wrote that.
- 10:02SPEAKER_22: We wrote that.
- 10:03SPEAKER_14: We're we're always telling people we wrote other people's we we wrote other people's songs.
- 10:06SPEAKER_22: Two of us by the Beatles.
- 10:08SPEAKER_22: We wrote that.
- 10:08SPEAKER_14: Yeah, we wrote that.
- 10:09SPEAKER_14: We weren't born yet, but we wrote it.
- 10:11SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 10:12SPEAKER_22: Uh so yeah, the county um Fest to End Hunger, put on by the County Federal Credit Union, uh, is taking place this Saturday, October 3rd, at Big Rock Mountain.
- 10:24SPEAKER_22: Uh, and there's a slew of entertainment.
- 10:25SPEAKER_22: Ten bucks gets you in uh for a all day.
- 10:29SPEAKER_22: A full day of music and food, and I think they have like art um art filled.
- 10:35SPEAKER_14: Well they got ride.
- 10:36SPEAKER_14: Well, the big big draws you they got foil foliage.
- 10:40SPEAKER_14: Foliage?
- 10:41SPEAKER_14: Foliage rides.
- 10:42SPEAKER_14: Foliage rides up the the ski slope.
- 10:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:45SPEAKER_14: I think they're gonna use the new uh the new one.
- 10:48SPEAKER_22: The new lift?
- 10:49SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 10:49SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 10:49SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 10:50SPEAKER_22: Um which is always great.
- 10:52SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 10:52SPEAKER_22: I mean they have art uh it's what what do they call it?
- 10:54SPEAKER_22: They call it the uh uh it's like an art um contest or something where they I think they're they're all making art at the same time.
- 11:04SPEAKER_22: Oh and then people bid on it or something.
- 11:06SPEAKER_22: I don't know what it was.
- 11:07SPEAKER_22: Anyway, it's sounds pretty fun.
- 11:09SPEAKER_22: And uh, like I said, all day music, we've got a bunch of uh acts playing, and then it culminates with the Mallet Brothers band uh that night.
- 11:18SPEAKER_22: So we're playing right before the Mallet Brothers go on stage.
- 11:21SPEAKER_22: Opening.
- 11:22SPEAKER_22: Yeah, so that's why I say we're opening.
- 11:23SPEAKER_22: But we won't be on the same stage as well, yeah.
- 11:26SPEAKER_14: We'll be tens of yards from these guys.
- 11:30SPEAKER_22: But we're still opening for them.
- 11:31SPEAKER_22: Yes.
- 11:32SPEAKER_22: Anyway, um come by and ignore us like everybody else.
- 11:35SPEAKER_22: Interesting.
- 11:36SPEAKER_22: I had um I'm not gonna tell you, I'm not gonna say who because um I don't want to give them you know any free publicity, but the other place that we played in Holton the other place that starts with a B.
- 11:49SPEAKER_14: Oh, right.
- 11:50SPEAKER_22: Okay, they reached out to me and they said, um uh, hey, w I wanted to reach out and see if you all would be interested and available for a gig on October 23rd.
- 12:03SPEAKER_14: We're already playing.
- 12:04SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 12:04SPEAKER_22: So I I looked at my calendar and we're playing in Holton already.
- 12:07SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 12:08SPEAKER_22: So I said, unfortunately we're already booked that night.
- 12:10SPEAKER_22: Thanks for thinking of us though.
- 12:12SPEAKER_22: No response.
- 12:14SPEAKER_22: The s like an hour later.
- 12:16SPEAKER_22: Um uh they put an ad up that said the Dave Hershey band is playing.
- 12:22SPEAKER_22: Didn't even say, sorry, we'll get you next time.
- 12:25SPEAKER_22: Just okay.
- 12:27SPEAKER_22: You guys can't play?
- 12:28SPEAKER_22: Okay, whatever.
- 12:29SPEAKER_14: And then we're gonna find I mean they're they're b they they're running a business, I get it.
- 12:32SPEAKER_22: Yeah, me too.
- 12:33SPEAKER_14: They they don't have to take our feelings into account.
- 12:35SPEAKER_22: No, they don't, but it's common courtesy.
- 12:38SPEAKER_14: Well, yeah, but I mean, you know, I'm not I'm not butthurt over it.
- 12:42SPEAKER_22: Yeah, we didn't have uh I mean we we did okay there.
- 12:44SPEAKER_22: Yeah, we didn't really have a great It wasn't our vibe.
- 12:46SPEAKER_14: No.
- 12:47SPEAKER_22: Yeah, it was a younger crowd and it was just yeah.
- 12:50SPEAKER_22: Um so we'll be playing across town while the Dave Hursey band.
- 12:53SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 12:54SPEAKER_14: Um we'll see if they have a better luck.
- 12:56unknown: Yeah.
- 12:57SPEAKER_22: Um, and so yeah, we're playing October 23rd, and then when are we playing again?
- 13:02SPEAKER_22: Oh, October 11th, Sunday.
- 13:04SPEAKER_22: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:04SPEAKER_22: Playing in Ashland.
- 13:05SPEAKER_22: Playing in Ashland for four.
- 13:07SPEAKER_22: Something yes, for something.
- 13:08SPEAKER_22: Can't remember what I'm saying.
- 13:09SPEAKER_14: We're not exactly sure what it is, but we're playing.
- 13:11SPEAKER_22: Yeah, we'll be you know we'll be I'm not sure if we're inside or outside.
- 13:13SPEAKER_22: I would assume we're inside.
- 13:14SPEAKER_14: I would hope so because you know.
- 13:16SPEAKER_14: I mean, I know it's a long weekend and it's October, but it's still chilly.
- 13:22SPEAKER_22: Still chilly at six.
- 13:23SPEAKER_22: It could snow, we never know.
- 13:24SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 13:25SPEAKER_22: Uh and that's it, right, for us uh for the rest of the year so far.
- 13:30SPEAKER_22: It's just far as I know.
- 13:31SPEAKER_22: October 3rd, October 11th, October 23rd.
- 13:33SPEAKER_14: Nothing in November, I don't think so.
- 13:35SPEAKER_22: Nothing yet, anyway.
- 13:36SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 13:37SPEAKER_22: So um We will wait and see.
- 13:40SPEAKER_22: We'll keep you up to date.
- 13:42SPEAKER_22: You know, not that you know the people that listen actually go out to see us, but maybe Well, they're listening to this podcast, that's why they're not going out to see us.
- 13:50SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 13:51SPEAKER_14: They're like, ah, why would I go see them when I can listen to them ramble?
- 13:54SPEAKER_22: We we at one point we talked about, and I think we actually did once um plant some acoustic stuff on the podcast.
- 14:02SPEAKER_14: Yeah, we've done it times or two.
- 14:04SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 14:04SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 14:04SPEAKER_14: Uh we should do that more.
- 14:06SPEAKER_14: Should.
- 14:06SPEAKER_14: Just because it'd be fun.
- 14:07SPEAKER_14: Why not?
- 14:09SPEAKER_14: We have the technology.
- 14:10SPEAKER_14: As I take a thig.
- 14:12SPEAKER_22: Um from my Sparkling Ice Lifesavers Wild Cherry.
- 14:16SPEAKER_22: Courtesy of Doug.
- 14:17SPEAKER_22: Uh Sparkling Ice.
- 14:18SPEAKER_22: Our corporate sponsor.
- 14:19SPEAKER_22: Sparkling ice, yes.
- 14:21SPEAKER_22: Um, so I have a couple of.
- 14:22SPEAKER_14: Which is actually owned by isn't it owned by like Philip Morris?
- 14:26SPEAKER_22: Is it really?
- 14:27SPEAKER_14: Well, l like it's General Foods, but I think it's like General Foods is owned by Philip Morris.
- 14:33SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I have no idea.
- 14:34SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 14:34SPEAKER_22: So it says it says uh no sugar, right?
- 14:37SPEAKER_22: But there's there's sweet and low.
- 14:39SPEAKER_22: There's you know sweetener in there.
- 14:41SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I mean it's rat poison.
- 14:42SPEAKER_14: Yeah, right.
- 14:42SPEAKER_14: You know, yeah.
- 14:43SPEAKER_14: It's tasty.
- 14:43SPEAKER_14: We're all gonna die.
- 14:45SPEAKER_14: We all gotta go sometime.
- 14:47SPEAKER_14: Ain't nobody living forever.
- 14:48SPEAKER_22: Um, I have a couple of things.
- 14:50SPEAKER_22: Um, courtesy of ultimate classicrock.com.
- 14:53SPEAKER_22: You saw the thing I sent in the thread about Abe Laboreal Jr.
- 14:57SPEAKER_14: Playing for uh Pearl Jam.
- 14:58SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 14:59SPEAKER_14: Which I I was like, huh?
- 15:02SPEAKER_22: Okay, so there's an update.
- 15:04SPEAKER_14: Oh, okay.
- 15:04SPEAKER_22: Pearl Jam thanks drummer Abe Laboreal Jr.
- 15:07SPEAKER_22: for sitting in.
- 15:08SPEAKER_14: Oh, so he's not actually playing.
- 15:10SPEAKER_22: Let me read the article.
- 15:11SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 15:11SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 15:11SPEAKER_22: Uh it appears Pearl Jam still hasn't officially filled their drummer vacancy.
- 15:15SPEAKER_22: Over the weekend, the Grunge Grace seemingly announced Abe Laboreal Jr.
- 15:19SPEAKER_22: as their new man behind the kit.
- 15:21SPEAKER_22: During Eddie Vader's Friday solo set at the Ohana Festival, the other members of Pearl Jam made an unexpected appearance.
- 15:28SPEAKER_22: Laboreal Jr.
- 15:29SPEAKER_22: played with the band during the set as well as Pear Jam's headlining performance on Sunday.
- 15:33SPEAKER_22: Naturally, everyone assumed Paul McCartney's longtime drummer had made the jump to Pearl Jam, but today the band seemingly seemingly confirmed that his stint was temporary.
- 15:42SPEAKER_22: Uh he said, just a quick note on this Monday morning to thank each and everyone who came to up to Ohana Fest this year.
- 15:48SPEAKER_22: Uh three days of great groups, all of whom were further energized by the pumped-up vibes from a perfect crowd.
- 15:53SPEAKER_22: It all made a tenth year so special, and we are grateful.
- 15:56SPEAKER_22: Uh I don't know why I'm reading this whole article.
- 15:59SPEAKER_22: Uh anyway, it confirms that because what I had posted in the thread was they had announced that he was the new drummer.
- 16:10SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 16:11SPEAKER_22: And you and I, I mean, we love Abe Leborel Jr.
- 16:16SPEAKER_22: Dude is awesome.
- 16:17SPEAKER_22: He's amazing.
- 16:17SPEAKER_22: Awesome.
- 16:18SPEAKER_22: Paul McCartney's drummer, longtime drummer.
- 16:20SPEAKER_14: If I was black, that's exactly what I would look like.
- 16:22SPEAKER_14: Right?
- 16:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 16:23SPEAKER_22: He does kind of look like you.
- 16:24SPEAKER_14: I know, right?
- 16:25SPEAKER_22: That's why that's why I love that guy.
- 16:27SPEAKER_22: And uh session drummer, you know, it's just um he played he's played on Stave Lukather's uh solo albums.
- 16:33SPEAKER_22: I mean, he's his dad is obviously Abe Laboreal senior.
- 16:36SPEAKER_22: He's a man uh magnificent bass player.
- 16:39SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 16:40SPEAKER_22: Um session player.
- 16:41SPEAKER_22: And uh he just for me uh not not that he couldn't do the job playing for Pearl Jam, it just didn't fit.
- 16:49SPEAKER_14: I mean that was I I when when you posted it, I was like, that's I mean, it's cool, but it's weird.
- 16:55SPEAKER_22: Yeah, it didn't seem right to me.
- 16:56SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it just doesn't he do he doesn't like he doesn't fit.
- 17:01SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 17:01SPEAKER_14: Uh I mean he could do it.
- 17:03SPEAKER_22: I mean he probably could That's my thoughts exactly.
- 17:06SPEAKER_14: I mean he could do it.
- 17:07SPEAKER_14: I don't know, it's not a it's not a skill issue, it's just like a yeah, what?
- 17:12SPEAKER_22: Huh?
- 17:12SPEAKER_22: It's like a left turn, like a complete left turn.
- 17:14SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's like Steve Vai playing for the Mallet brothers.
- 17:17SPEAKER_14: You know, you just you're just like what what is happening?
- 17:20SPEAKER_22: Yeah, exactly.
- 17:20SPEAKER_14: Where where am I?
- 17:22SPEAKER_22: So now we you know we we were right.
- 17:24SPEAKER_22: Uh he is not the new drummer for Pearl Jam.
- 17:27SPEAKER_22: Uh and I'm not gonna say thankfully, because I think it would have been great.
- 17:30SPEAKER_22: Different.
- 17:31SPEAKER_22: They'd be lucky to have it.
- 17:32SPEAKER_22: Yeah, they would be lucky to have Abe Abe Libore.
- 17:35SPEAKER_22: Um but they're still in in the search for a new drummer since Matt came.
- 17:40SPEAKER_14: Well they should do like what Primus did, just you know, have open auditions and right.
- 17:44SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 17:44SPEAKER_22: Find their guy that's I wonder if uh Annika Downs is doing anything.
- 17:47SPEAKER_22: Maybe she could uh I think she's busy.
- 17:49SPEAKER_22: You think so?
- 17:49SPEAKER_22: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:50SPEAKER_22: You're probably right.
- 17:52SPEAKER_22: Um so I have new music to to uh listen to.
- 17:56SPEAKER_22: Uh U2.
- 17:58SPEAKER_22: Now I have a love-hate relationship with you two.
- 18:00SPEAKER_14: Um yeah, it's like it's like it it's album to album, something.
- 18:04SPEAKER_22: It is album to album.
- 18:05SPEAKER_22: You know.
- 18:06SPEAKER_22: I love the Joshua Tree.
- 18:07SPEAKER_22: A great album.
- 18:08SPEAKER_22: Um I love uh Tongue Baby.
- 18:10SPEAKER_14: That's a great album.
- 18:12SPEAKER_22: I liked um the one that they came out with in the early 2000s with Beautiful Day, which is All That We Don't Leave Behind, or something like that.
- 18:20SPEAKER_22: Something like that.
- 18:21SPEAKER_22: That was a great album.
- 18:22SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 18:22SPEAKER_14: Um then they made the mistake of we're gonna put an album and give it to everybody.
- 18:28SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 18:29SPEAKER_22: And it sucks monkey butt.
- 18:30SPEAKER_22: Apple iTunes.
- 18:31SPEAKER_22: You know, and it was uh not that they've have put out bad albums, it's just it was you know, you're right their best work.
- 18:40SPEAKER_22: It's album to album.
- 18:41SPEAKER_22: It really is.
- 18:42SPEAKER_14: Sometimes they just like what what were you guys thinking?
- 18:45SPEAKER_22: Um, so they have a new album coming out.
- 18:49SPEAKER_22: Um it's their fifteenth studio album.
- 18:52SPEAKER_22: It's called Carnival de Luz.
- 18:55SPEAKER_22: Carnival de Luz or De Luz L U Z.
- 19:00SPEAKER_22: Um and the first single I don't know what they're doing with the Spanish, but um Spanish or French?
- 19:08SPEAKER_22: It's called Silencio.
- 19:10SPEAKER_14: Silencio, quiet.
- 19:11SPEAKER_22: Silencio.
- 19:12SPEAKER_14: Be quiet.
- 19:13SPEAKER_22: Um so I thought we would take a listen to that Silencio from U2 and uh see what see what that's all about, see if they're back to it sounding like you two.
- 19:30SPEAKER_22: Hold on, let me start that over and turn up the source audio because obviously that's not very loud.
- 19:38SPEAKER_22: Let's get a better take on that.
- 19:40SPEAKER_22: Silencio, great vertigo.
- 20:54SPEAKER_14: Well, it's the name translates to long carnival or long party silencio.
- 21:02SPEAKER_14: No, flu carnival delu.
- 21:04SPEAKER_14: Carnival delute.
- 21:05SPEAKER_14: That's Spanish, which explains it's Silencio.
- 21:09SPEAKER_14: Well, actually, they live in Spain.
- 21:14SPEAKER_14: I just heard a swear.
- 21:15SPEAKER_14: Oh no! Not you swear anything.
- 21:23SPEAKER_14: Pretty good.
- 21:24SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's not bad.
- 21:26SPEAKER_14: Pretty good.
- 21:27SPEAKER_22: But it sounds like vertigo.
- 21:28SPEAKER_14: Yeah, does that maybe they're going back to what looked?
- 21:31SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 21:32SPEAKER_14: Which I'm fine with.
- 21:36SPEAKER_22: I wish they'd go back to like like John Twitter, John Twitcher, the edges.
- 21:41SPEAKER_14: Like the late 80s, early.
- 21:42SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:43SPEAKER_22: I actually I love Rattle and Hum too.
- 21:47SPEAKER_14: Holy ghost.
- 22:00SPEAKER_22: Yeah, I I don't mind it.
- 22:00SPEAKER_22: I mean it's I like it.
- 22:02SPEAKER_22: It's predictable.
- 22:02SPEAKER_22: I like it.
- 22:03SPEAKER_14: Well yeah, but I'm I'm okay with it.
- 22:05SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 22:06SPEAKER_22: So that let's see when it comes out.
- 22:09SPEAKER_22: Did I say when it comes out?
- 22:10SPEAKER_22: Negative.
- 22:11SPEAKER_22: No.
- 22:11SPEAKER_22: It's their 15th studio album.
- 22:13SPEAKER_22: I don't know if there's a release date for it yet.
- 22:17SPEAKER_20: Let's find out.
- 22:19SPEAKER_22: Uh U2's first collection of original music since 2017's Songs of Experience, which also wasn't that great.
- 22:28SPEAKER_22: Um Songs of Surrender, they also released.
- 22:32SPEAKER_22: Uh Carnival Oh, here we go.
- 22:34SPEAKER_22: Carnival de Luz will be released on November 13th.
- 22:40SPEAKER_22: The band uh collaborated with a variety of artists, including Brian Eno, which was uh expected.
- 22:45SPEAKER_22: Uh Danielle Lenoir, expected, Ryan Tedder, uh, who's a big pop songwriter, big producer.
- 22:52SPEAKER_22: Uh, and Dolly Parton.
- 22:55SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 22:55SPEAKER_22: Uh she came in and and dueted on a track called Torn.
- 22:59SPEAKER_14: She can do anything.
- 23:00SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 23:00SPEAKER_22: It's her last, actually, it's technically her last vocal performance.
- 23:03SPEAKER_22: Awesome.
- 23:04SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 23:04SPEAKER_22: So that's uh something something to check out.
- 23:07SPEAKER_22: U2, brand new stuff called Silencio.
- 23:11SPEAKER_22: Uh I had another thing from ultimate classicrock.com.
- 23:13SPEAKER_22: I haven't read it, um, but I thought it'd be kind of neat to uh dive into it.
- 23:18SPEAKER_22: Classic Rock's four most memorable rip-off songs.
- 23:23SPEAKER_22: Now, when you think of songs that were ripped off, the first thing I think of is Lid Zepplet.
- 23:29SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 23:29SPEAKER_14: They were famous for that.
- 23:30SPEAKER_22: They were famous for for taking old blues uh standards or or unknown blues artists who wrote music and just swiping their stuff and calling it their own.
- 23:42SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 23:42SPEAKER_22: Uh and that's proven.
- 23:44SPEAKER_22: They've done it.
- 23:44SPEAKER_22: Oh, yeah.
- 23:45SPEAKER_14: Um they don't think they deny it either.
- 23:46SPEAKER_14: Well, I think they are.
- 23:47SPEAKER_22: They are well at for a time they maybe they don't know.
- 23:50SPEAKER_14: I think they used to, and now they're just like, well, the internet's out.
- 23:53SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 23:55SPEAKER_22: Um, I don't think this is gonna be on the list because it's not really classic rock, but we've talked about um Coldplay ripping off Joe Satriani.
- 24:04SPEAKER_22: Yeah, that's not gonna happen.
- 24:05SPEAKER_22: Yeah, that's probably what's not gonna make sense.
- 24:07SPEAKER_22: Let's find out what's on the list.
- 24:08SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 24:08SPEAKER_22: Um let's see.
- 24:11SPEAKER_22: You watch that be the first one.
- 24:12SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 24:13SPEAKER_22: Classic rock's biggest rip-off.
- 24:15SPEAKER_22: Okay, so Child in Time from Deep Purple.
- 24:20SPEAKER_22: Um, let's see what they're claiming.
- 24:23SPEAKER_22: This one uh rips off.
- 24:26SPEAKER_22: Uh it's a beautiful day, Bombay Calling.
- 24:29SPEAKER_22: I don't know.
- 24:31SPEAKER_22: Okay, well, I've never heard um Bombay Calling.
- 24:35SPEAKER_22: Let's hear a little bit of each.
- 24:36SPEAKER_22: This is Deep Purple's Child in Time.
- 25:21SPEAKER_22: I don't know, it's going anywhere.
- 25:23SPEAKER_22: It's it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
- 25:25SPEAKER_22: Let's just uh let's just see what Well, we got we got an idea of it.
- 25:28SPEAKER_22: Yeah, so let's see the song that it supposedly ripped off is uh It's a Beautiful Full Day from Bombay Calling.
- 25:35SPEAKER_22: So let's see what this sounds like.
- 25:41SPEAKER_22: Okay, hold on.
- 25:42SPEAKER_22: I want to go back to child in time and I wanna just forward ahead a little bit.
- 25:48SPEAKER_22: Oh, that's why.
- 25:49SPEAKER_10: You better close your eyes.
- 26:05SPEAKER_22: Let's see if the melody is the same.
- 26:30SPEAKER_14: I mean it's close, but it's not.
- 26:32SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 26:37SPEAKER_22: Alright, I'm not gonna go too much farther into that one because it's just those prog rock bands, they just go and go and go and go.
- 26:45SPEAKER_22: Alright, here's an interesting one.
- 26:46SPEAKER_22: Uh, you know this song.
- 26:52SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah.
- 26:53SPEAKER_22: Crocodile Rock, Sir Elton John.
- 26:56SPEAKER_22: From 1973.
- 27:06SPEAKER_22: So Elton John and Bernie Toppin meant this song to be a tribute to early rock sounds.
- 27:13SPEAKER_22: But they succeeded a little too well.
- 27:15SPEAKER_22: Songwriter Buddy Kay stewed saying they stole the chorus, progressions, and even the vocal style from Pat Boone.
- 27:27SPEAKER_22: A 1962 hit he had called Speedy Gonzales.
- 27:32SPEAKER_22: So we I don't have to play much more of that.
- 27:34SPEAKER_22: We know that song.
- 27:35SPEAKER_22: So let's let's listen to Speedy Gonzales from Pat Boone.
- 27:42SPEAKER_15: It was a moonlit night in old Mexico.
- 27:46SPEAKER_15: I walked alone between some old adobe haciendas.
- 27:50SPEAKER_15: Suddenly I heard the plaintive cry of a young Mexican girl.
- 28:02SPEAKER_22: Not tracking with it just yet.
- 28:06SPEAKER_22: Well, the melody it's a progression.
- 28:08SPEAKER_22: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:12SPEAKER_16: You better come home, speedy gunsolit.
- 28:17SPEAKER_16: Away from Tanner Riddle.
- 28:20SPEAKER_14: Stop all of your Yeah, but that sounds like everything that came out around that time from the early 60s.
- 28:25SPEAKER_22: Yes.
- 28:26SPEAKER_22: I'm just curious what the chorus sounds like.
- 28:29SPEAKER_22: Because if he goes da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da, then maybe maybe they have something.
- 28:57SPEAKER_14: Wow.
- 28:58SPEAKER_14: That would not fly today.
- 29:00SPEAKER_14: It certainly would not.
- 29:01SPEAKER_14: Oh, oh, this.
- 29:03SPEAKER_14: Oh, that yeah.
- 29:04SPEAKER_14: Okay, that I can.
- 29:06SPEAKER_22: Okay, I get that.
- 29:07SPEAKER_22: I get that, yeah.
- 29:08SPEAKER_14: The rest of the song is just the song is completely irrelevant.
- 29:11SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 29:12SPEAKER_22: Yeah, I I get it.
- 29:13SPEAKER_22: All right.
- 29:14SPEAKER_22: Uh we've already talked about this, I think.
- 29:16SPEAKER_22: Uh stareway to heaven.
- 29:19SPEAKER_14: So but did you see my post?
- 29:21SPEAKER_22: Oh, I did.
- 29:24SPEAKER_14: Yes.
- 29:25SPEAKER_14: When I read that, I laughed so freaking hard.
- 29:27SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah.
- 29:30SPEAKER_21: Um.
- 29:35SPEAKER_22: So we've we've talked about this before, but it is worth talking about again.
- 29:40SPEAKER_22: So I think it's the it's the whole progression of this part.
- 29:45SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 29:46SPEAKER_22: So if I there's a band called Taurus.
- 29:49SPEAKER_22: Oh no, I'm sorry.
- 29:50SPEAKER_22: The the band is Spirit, the song is Taurus.
- 29:52SPEAKER_22: This is the this is their song.
- 30:55SPEAKER_22: So you can see the similarities.
- 30:57SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's I mean, it's just the progressions.
- 30:59SPEAKER_22: I just I just learned something from this article, though.
- 31:01SPEAKER_22: By the by the way, this is all coming from ultimate classicrock.com.
- 31:04SPEAKER_22: We should give them a plug.
- 31:05SPEAKER_22: Um, Dolly Parton had covered a song um called We Used To.
- 31:12SPEAKER_22: Uh, and supposedly.
- 31:15SPEAKER_14: Wow, another one.
- 31:17SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 31:24SPEAKER_14: See, that's closer to it than the other one.
- 31:30SPEAKER_14: We used to not now, but clearly.
- 31:33SPEAKER_05: We used to be so happy, me and you.
- 31:38SPEAKER_05: Um we used to do such silly things.
- 31:43SPEAKER_22: But yeah, you can see that's even a um closer intro than than the spirit song.
- 31:48SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 31:48SPEAKER_22: Apparently, she uh that was in 1975, and she ended up covering Stairway to Heaven in 2020, uh 2002.
- 31:56SPEAKER_22: So um, and I think we know this one too.
- 32:00SPEAKER_22: We've talked about this a little bit.
- 32:04SPEAKER_22: Yep.
- 32:04SPEAKER_22: The late great George Harrison, my sweet lord.
- 32:10SPEAKER_22: And this one is more the structure of the song, right?
- 32:38SPEAKER_22: I have this album.
- 32:39SPEAKER_22: I do vinyl.
- 32:40SPEAKER_22: Oh, do you?
- 32:41SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:46SPEAKER_22: Yeah, I was working at a radio station.
- 32:48SPEAKER_22: Do you remember?
- 32:48SPEAKER_22: Did you ever you met Steve, the sales guy?
- 32:51SPEAKER_22: Sales guy, yeah.
- 32:51SPEAKER_22: Canadian sales guy.
- 32:52SPEAKER_22: He came in one time and he said, I'm gonna just get rid of a bunch of stuff.
- 32:56SPEAKER_22: Do you want these?
- 32:57SPEAKER_22: And he handed me this.
- 33:00SPEAKER_22: It's like a like a full the full the full album, which is I think four records.
- 33:04SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 33:05SPEAKER_22: And uh like the Beatles anthology table book.
- 33:09SPEAKER_22: Oh yeah.
- 33:10SPEAKER_22: Uh and a couple other things too, which is like, yes, I want that.
- 33:13SPEAKER_17: Thank you.
- 33:15SPEAKER_22: Um, all right, so this is this is nothing new.
- 33:20SPEAKER_22: Um the the the claim is that it's a ripoff of the font.
- 33:25SPEAKER_22: He's so fine.
- 33:27SPEAKER_22: Melody and the structure.
- 33:30SPEAKER_02: He's so fun.
- 33:47SPEAKER_22: Come on, and they did but settle that one, I think.
- 33:50SPEAKER_22: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:51SPEAKER_14: But I mean, that was the music that inspired them to start the Beatles anyway.
- 33:57SPEAKER_22: Yeah, no question about it.
- 33:58SPEAKER_22: That stuff he had he had is American rock.
- 34:00SPEAKER_22: He wasn't thinking about it.
- 34:01SPEAKER_22: It was in there.
- 34:03SPEAKER_14: It's like, you know, you I was like, oh yeah.
- 34:05SPEAKER_14: Because I mean, who hasn't been like humming a tune in your head and you're like, oh man, did I just write a cool song?
- 34:11SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 34:11SPEAKER_14: And then you're like, oh, that's you know, blah, blah, blah.
- 34:14SPEAKER_22: Um, and I just read something else here.
- 34:16SPEAKER_22: I'm gonna see if I can find if I can find this.
- 34:19SPEAKER_22: Um so he ended up making fun of um the whole situation.
- 34:25SPEAKER_22: Let's see.
- 34:27SPEAKER_22: Let me read the article here.
- 34:29SPEAKER_22: It says George Harrison said it was all an accident and even brought his guitar to cord to show how he created the track.
- 34:35SPEAKER_22: That convinced the judge that the similarities were not purposeful, but Richard Owen nevertheless ruled Harrison guilty of subconscious plagiarism.
- 34:44SPEAKER_23: Oh, yeah.
- 34:45SPEAKER_22: Harrison ended up poking fun at the whole thing in a hilarious track titled This Song.
- 34:50SPEAKER_22: Have you ever heard that?
- 34:53SPEAKER_14: Maybe I don't know.
- 34:56SPEAKER_22: I think it was part of Saturday Night Live, but I could be wrong.
- 35:29SPEAKER_08: Don't expand on anyone's copyright stove.
- 35:38SPEAKER_14: Yeah, he definitely became more savage after he left the Beatles.
- 35:42SPEAKER_14: Oh yes.
- 35:43SPEAKER_14: Oh yes.
- 35:44SPEAKER_22: He never would have done that in the Beatles, but Well, they wouldn't have let him.
- 35:47SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 35:47SPEAKER_22: I mean, yes.
- 35:52SPEAKER_14: Corporation.
- 35:52SPEAKER_22: Yeah, and it wasn't really I wanna say it wasn't really a democracy.
- 35:56SPEAKER_22: Wow, not even close.
- 35:58SPEAKER_22: Not even close.
- 35:58SPEAKER_22: Uh so that's the big three, uh big four, sorry, sorry, of the most memorable ripoffs in uh classic rock.
- 36:07SPEAKER_22: Um I have another one.
- 36:08SPEAKER_22: I don't know if I want to go there.
- 36:10SPEAKER_22: Four studio mistakes that became part of classic rock history.
- 36:14SPEAKER_22: We'll do a quick one.
- 36:16SPEAKER_22: Uh four studio mistakes, let's see.
- 36:18SPEAKER_22: Eminence Front.
- 36:19SPEAKER_22: Roger Daltrey rose to fame being a stuttering performance on my generation.
- 36:23SPEAKER_22: But the bad timing on the chorus of the Who's Eminence Front was a different matter entirely.
- 36:28SPEAKER_22: Uh Pete Townsend enters a syllable behind Dalt uh Doltry 8 at roughly the 238 mark, then they appear to sing two different things.
- 36:36SPEAKER_22: 238.
- 36:36SPEAKER_22: Let's let's forward to 238.
- 36:40SPEAKER_22: I love the song though.
- 36:53unknown: It's an MM spite.
- 36:56SPEAKER_22: It's right here.
- 36:57SPEAKER_22: One of them says behind.
- 37:00SPEAKER_22: One of them says it's.
- 37:02SPEAKER_22: Uh you and I, we would never have noticed that.
- 37:05SPEAKER_22: No.
- 37:05SPEAKER_22: Never have noticed.
- 37:07SPEAKER_22: Uh sweet home Alabama.
- 37:09SPEAKER_22: If you listen closely at around the 410 mark, it certainly sounds like he's saying my donuts.
- 37:14SPEAKER_22: G D.
- 37:16SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah, I know what he's talking about.
- 37:18SPEAKER_14: You know what he's talking about?
- 37:19SPEAKER_22: I don't.
- 37:20SPEAKER_22: Uh it's towards the end.
- 37:22SPEAKER_22: 4'10.
- 37:23SPEAKER_22: So let's let's just forward to 4'10.
- 37:31SPEAKER_22: Right there.
- 37:33SPEAKER_22: I don't think I've ever noticed that before.
- 37:34SPEAKER_22: Never noticed that?
- 37:35SPEAKER_22: I guess not.
- 37:36SPEAKER_22: Maybe I haven't listened uh that closely.
- 37:38SPEAKER_22: Roxanne from the police.
- 37:40SPEAKER_22: Didn't do much upon release in the UK, but it helped break the police in America.
- 37:44SPEAKER_22: And it all began with an atonal burst of piano.
- 37:46SPEAKER_22: I did know this.
- 37:47SPEAKER_22: An atonal burst of piano at roughly four seconds uh or oh four seconds, then a burst of laughter.
- 37:53SPEAKER_22: Turns out that exactly because he sat on the piano.
- 37:56SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 37:57SPEAKER_22: Yeah, so at the very beginning, uh as the recording, Sting sat on the piano and laughed.
- 38:03SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 38:03SPEAKER_22: Because he sat on the piano.
- 38:05SPEAKER_22: And they kept it.
- 38:16SPEAKER_22: I think that's iconic though.
- 38:17SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I I mean I just thought it was just part of the song.
- 38:20SPEAKER_14: I never knew it was a mistake.
- 38:22SPEAKER_14: Right, right.
- 38:22SPEAKER_22: Uh, one more.
- 38:23SPEAKER_22: Um Pig Floyd's Wish You Were Here.
- 38:26SPEAKER_22: Sometimes a mistake becomes a life-changing moment, and that was apparently the case for David Gilmore.
- 38:31SPEAKER_22: Uh, while recording the delicate intro lines in the song Gilmore, then a habitual smoker let out an accidental cough.
- 38:38SPEAKER_22: They decided to leave it in.
- 38:40SPEAKER_22: Uh I thought I guess it's a good idea.
- 38:43SPEAKER_22: Oh, video unavailable.
- 38:45SPEAKER_22: This video is unavailable because it's away.
- 38:50SPEAKER_22: Uh so when he coughs at the beginning of that, it's not uh on purpose.
- 38:54SPEAKER_22: So there you go.
- 38:55SPEAKER_22: Coolio! Coolio! Coolio!
- 38:58SPEAKER_14: Um, we're gonna do hoodies.
- 39:08SPEAKER_14: I got a I got a hoodie.
- 39:09SPEAKER_22: You got a hoodie.
- 39:17SPEAKER_14: This is about it.
- 39:37SPEAKER_22: I can't remember the name of the being frostbite.
- 40:09SPEAKER_14: I never heard of it.
- 40:20SPEAKER_22: Uh well, this is called Lake and Terry Twilight.
- 40:25SPEAKER_22: But it says Frostbit Little Icebreaker.
- 40:28SPEAKER_22: Oh, this one, yeah, okay.
- 40:30SPEAKER_22: So this one says icebreaker on it.
- 40:32SPEAKER_22: No, icebreaker.
- 40:33SPEAKER_22: Icebreaker's the name of the album.
- 40:37SPEAKER_22: Um I'm looking at I have Cry for Love, Love Dances, Bad Girl, uh Lake Ontario Twilight, Icebreaker Full Series.
- 40:53SPEAKER_22: No, I think uh I I I don't know if there's a title track.
- 40:57SPEAKER_22: So I'll name some and you pick one.
- 40:59SPEAKER_22: Uh Lake Ontario Twilight.
- 41:01SPEAKER_22: Child of the.
- 41:03SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 41:04SPEAKER_22: It's eight minutes long.
- 41:05SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 41:05SPEAKER_22: That's okay.
- 41:06SPEAKER_22: We'll figure it out.
- 41:07SPEAKER_14: Well, we're not gonna play the whole thing.
- 41:09SPEAKER_14: That sounds like stairway to heaven! What's going on here?
- 41:13SPEAKER_22: Do you know anything about Frostbit Blue?
- 41:15SPEAKER_22: Nope.
- 41:17SPEAKER_22: Not a thing.
- 41:17SPEAKER_22: Let's uh Google them here.
- 42:46SPEAKER_22: Except that they formed in Oswega, New York, in nineteen eighty-seven.
- 42:50SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 42:51SPEAKER_22: Uh, and they're a rock and blues band.
- 43:36SPEAKER_14: It reminds me of Russia's Lakeside Park.
- 43:40SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 43:40SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 43:42SPEAKER_14: Same idea, like a nostalgic you know.
- 43:46SPEAKER_22: Okay, I got a little bit here.
- 43:48SPEAKER_22: They got the uh 2017 Joseph's Perino Hall of Fame Award.
- 43:53SPEAKER_22: They began in 1987 as Nick Gravelding's college band at SUNY Oswego.
- 44:00SPEAKER_22: Eventually evolving into the powerhouse classic lineup that became a staple of the central New York rock scene.
- 44:05SPEAKER_22: Their music earned Sammy recognition, national TV placements, an opening slot at Woodstock 99, and a loyal following that still remembers the unmatched spirit of their late bandmate Tim the King Smith.
- 44:23SPEAKER_22: Alright, so there's they've had songs uh on television on Party of Five and Dawson's Creek.
- 44:30SPEAKER_22: Uh they've toured with Dickie Betts, Charlie Daniels, Derek Trucks, 38 Special, Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
- 44:37SPEAKER_22: Um yeah.
- 44:44SPEAKER_22: I like it.
- 44:45SPEAKER_22: I do too.
- 44:46SPEAKER_22: I'm gonna just just for giggles, let's let's uh click on a different one.
- 44:52SPEAKER_22: Uh Child of December drive the heart drives the heart away.
- 44:56SPEAKER_22: Sweet Mary Jane.
- 44:57SPEAKER_22: Which one do you think?
- 44:58SPEAKER_22: Summer lover.
- 44:59SPEAKER_22: Just pick one.
- 44:59SPEAKER_22: Just pick one.
- 45:00SPEAKER_22: Yep.
- 45:00SPEAKER_22: Um let's do summer lover.
- 45:03SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 45:05SPEAKER_22: Please rate your experience.
- 45:07SPEAKER_22: Absolutely not.
- 45:08SPEAKER_22: Screw you, YouTube.
- 45:34SPEAKER_10: Change has come, and now we're on our way.
- 45:40SPEAKER_10: Have some good times in our summer day.
- 45:46SPEAKER_10: The sun is shining in the sky's so blue.
- 45:52SPEAKER_10: When I look in your eyes upon the blue.
- 46:01SPEAKER_10: Some of someone that I can dream of.
- 46:10SPEAKER_10: I'm looking for.
- 46:13SPEAKER_10: Some of someone that I can leave on.
- 46:20SPEAKER_18: I dig it.
- 46:21SPEAKER_18: Yeah, I like it.
- 46:22SPEAKER_18: I think it's uh I think it's pretty cool.
- 46:24SPEAKER_18: Yeah.
- 46:25SPEAKER_18: It's kinda.
- 46:26SPEAKER_18: I don't know.
- 46:27SPEAKER_18: It's very laid-back southern pop rock or Yeah.
- 46:33SPEAKER_14: Kind of like early hootie.
- 46:37SPEAKER_19: You think so?
- 46:38SPEAKER_14: Well, hootie compared to, you know, mixed with like warrant or you know, some hair metal.
- 46:47SPEAKER_14: Kind of a trickster file vibe.
- 46:49SPEAKER_14: You think wow.
- 46:50SPEAKER_14: I'm not hearing that at all.
- 46:51SPEAKER_14: I'm wondering no, the the vocals, not not the.
- 46:54SPEAKER_21: Okay, okay, okay.
- 46:57SPEAKER_22: I'm I'm hearing something that might fit on Yacht Rock radio.
- 47:01SPEAKER_14: Someone that I can't there.
- 47:05SPEAKER_23: Yeah.
- 47:06SPEAKER_14: Yacht Rock sensibilities.
- 47:08SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 47:12SPEAKER_10: Someone that I can be known.
- 47:15SPEAKER_22: See, that's what I like about this uh segment.
- 47:17SPEAKER_22: You you learn about bands you had never ever heard of, and that's that's pretty cool.
- 47:22SPEAKER_22: Frostbit blue.
- 47:24SPEAKER_22: I think terrible name for a band.
- 47:26SPEAKER_22: It definitely stands out.
- 47:28SPEAKER_22: Yeah, it does.
- 47:29SPEAKER_22: It does.
- 47:29SPEAKER_22: Um but uh yeah, no, that's that's pretty cool.
- 47:33SPEAKER_22: Frostbit blue, and they're still going.
- 47:36SPEAKER_22: Uh they're still together, and they're still touring and playing clubs and and uh opening for people, so I think that's good.
- 47:44SPEAKER_22: Good stuff! I like it.
- 47:46SPEAKER_22: Thanks, Rick.
- 47:46SPEAKER_22: Yeah, thanks, Rick.
- 47:48SPEAKER_22: Um all right.
- 47:50SPEAKER_22: So now can I kick this off?
- 47:52SPEAKER_22: Yes.
- 47:52SPEAKER_22: Alright, now it's a lot.
- 47:54SPEAKER_22: Remember, am I asking you?
- 47:56SPEAKER_14: Yeah, because you did it last week.
- 47:58SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 47:58SPEAKER_22: Uh this one's called the Courier.
- 48:01SPEAKER_22: The Courier?
- 48:02SPEAKER_22: Yep.
- 48:02SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 48:03SPEAKER_22: Uh some of these.
- 48:05SPEAKER_22: I had to, you know, uh, I think this is one of the ones that I found.
- 48:10SPEAKER_22: Uh, because I just picked it, but I think it's one of the ones that I set aside because some of these are really like strange.
- 48:17SPEAKER_22: Like strange that I don't even want them on the podcast.
- 48:20SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 48:20SPEAKER_22: Strange.
- 48:20SPEAKER_22: I don't think this is one.
- 48:21SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 48:22SPEAKER_22: Uh, but if it ends up being we'll just kind of switch it up.
- 48:26SPEAKER_22: Uh you're offered a strange job by a New York-based company.
- 48:31SPEAKER_22: Every morning at 6 a.m., a car service will come to your home and drive you to JFK Airport, 40 minutes from your residence.
- 48:41SPEAKER_22: When did I move to New York?
- 48:43SPEAKER_22: Apparently, I don't know.
- 48:44SPEAKER_22: Uh stupid already.
- 48:46SPEAKER_22: You will then take an 8 a.m.
- 48:48SPEAKER_22: business class flight to Los Angeles, arriving at roughly 11 30 a.m.
- 48:54SPEAKER_22: You will be picked up at the airport and driven to a Burbank office where you will hand deliver three innocuous but unfaxable documents to the corporation's president.
- 49:05SPEAKER_22: You will then be driven straight back to LAX where you will immediately catch a return flight to New York.
- 49:10SPEAKER_22: Another car will pick you up at the New York airport at 9 p.m.
- 49:14SPEAKER_22: and return you to your home in New York City.
- 49:16SPEAKER_22: This is what you would do every day, five days a week.
- 49:21SPEAKER_22: Wake up in New York, fly five and a half hours to LA, and then immediately fly five and a half hours back.
- 49:27SPEAKER_22: You have to wear dress clothes, but your lunches can be expensed, and you would have no other responsibilities while flying.
- 49:36SPEAKER_22: The pay would be a ten percent increase from what you currently earn, but they would need a three-year commitment.
- 49:43SPEAKER_22: Would you take this job?
- 49:44SPEAKER_14: Heck yeah.
- 49:46SPEAKER_22: Yeah?
- 49:47SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 49:47SPEAKER_22: Well, you said that pretty quick.
- 49:49SPEAKER_22: Why?
- 49:49SPEAKER_14: Just because I want some money, man.
- 49:51SPEAKER_22: Right?
- 49:52SPEAKER_22: And you just you just all you do is fly.
- 49:54SPEAKER_22: Every day.
- 49:55SPEAKER_22: Every day.
- 49:55SPEAKER_22: Well, five days a week, right?
- 49:56SPEAKER_22: Is that what it said?
- 49:57SPEAKER_14: Yeah, five days a week.
- 49:59SPEAKER_22: But uh you don't even know what you're delivering.
- 50:03SPEAKER_22: Doesn't matter.
- 50:04SPEAKER_22: Doesn't matter to you?
- 50:05SPEAKER_22: No.
- 50:06SPEAKER_22: I used to work for the government.
- 50:07SPEAKER_22: That's true.
- 50:08SPEAKER_22: You'll hand deliver three innocuous but unfaxable documents to the corporation's president.
- 50:17SPEAKER_14: It's probably it's probably some elaborate joke between millionaires.
- 50:20SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 50:21SPEAKER_14: You know, they're just like, ah, it's probably like it opens up.
- 50:24SPEAKER_22: Ah, you're stupid.
- 50:25SPEAKER_22: You know, it's definitely so 10% increase from what you currently earn.
- 50:29SPEAKER_22: You're retired.
- 50:31SPEAKER_22: Well, that's that's more than I'm getting now.
- 50:33SPEAKER_14: I'll take it.
- 50:34SPEAKER_14: I suppose that's true.
- 50:36SPEAKER_14: There we go.
- 50:36SPEAKER_14: Done.
- 50:37SPEAKER_14: All right, perfect.
- 50:38SPEAKER_14: That works.
- 50:39SPEAKER_14: And I don't mind flying, so right.
- 50:42SPEAKER_22: Yeah, see, I don't like flying.
- 50:43SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 50:43SPEAKER_14: So, I mean, it would be I mean, that's not I mean, you know, it doesn't seem sketchy.
- 50:48SPEAKER_14: I mean, it's weird, yeah, but it doesn't seem sketchy.
- 50:52SPEAKER_14: Now if I was like, now if it was like you're gonna deliver a briefcase, and then you're gonna take a briefcase back, I would be like, hmm.
- 51:01SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 51:01SPEAKER_14: That's sus.
- 51:03SPEAKER_14: But uh just documents, I don't I don't I don't care.
- 51:06SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 51:07SPEAKER_14: You know.
- 51:08SPEAKER_22: Even if they're like confidential, like uh like trade secrets or Yeah, I mean whatever.
- 51:14SPEAKER_22: They're just paying you to be a courier.
- 51:16SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I'm just I'm just you know, I'm a courier, you know, I'm just like the guy.
- 51:19SPEAKER_14: You know, it's just like it's an elaborate thing.
- 51:22SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 51:22SPEAKER_14: But you know, whatever.
- 51:24SPEAKER_14: I mean I mean they apparently don't mind.
- 51:27SPEAKER_14: So I mean, money seems to be no object in this thing, so yeah.
- 51:32SPEAKER_14: Why not?
- 51:33SPEAKER_14: Cool.
- 51:34SPEAKER_14: Live dangerously, eat cheese.
- 51:36SPEAKER_22: Um on that note, is it time now?
- 51:42SPEAKER_14: Yes, she did uh oh she you she got back to me.
- 51:45SPEAKER_14: Yeah, she got back to me.
- 51:46SPEAKER_22: Uh so hope uh hopefully everything's okay because uh footnote, we are recording this on a Wednesday, not a Tuesday.
- 51:52SPEAKER_14: Correct.
- 51:52SPEAKER_22: And uh Miss Judges just got back to us.
- 51:56SPEAKER_22: So we were worried there for a second.
- 51:58SPEAKER_22: Um but she's good, right?
- 52:00SPEAKER_22: Yeah, she's good.
- 52:01SPEAKER_22: She's good, okay.
- 52:02SPEAKER_22: Alright, so I can open it up then.
- 52:05SPEAKER_22: Yeah, all right.
- 52:06SPEAKER_22: Let's open it up.
- 52:08SPEAKER_12: It's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 52:11SPEAKER_12: With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness.
- 52:17SPEAKER_22: Mrs.
- 52:19SPEAKER_12: It's time to play mixtape, mixtape.
- 52:22SPEAKER_22: Alright.
- 52:24SPEAKER_22: Uh, and did you save last week's question?
- 52:29SPEAKER_14: This week's question.
- 52:30SPEAKER_22: Alright.
- 52:31SPEAKER_22: Alright, so last week's question.
- 52:33SPEAKER_22: You just got off, uh, you just got cut off by a biker gang and they all flip you off as they roar by.
- 52:38SPEAKER_22: You catch up to them at the next slide.
- 52:40SPEAKER_22: What's the song playing in your head as you fantasize about single-handedly kicking all of their asses Bruce Lee style?
- 52:48SPEAKER_22: And this is what her judge does say.
- 52:51SPEAKER_22: Alright, let's see what the judge said.
- 52:52SPEAKER_22: Miss Judge, sorry.
- 52:53SPEAKER_22: Misses.
- 52:54SPEAKER_22: Yes, misses.
- 52:56SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, mixtape was hilarious this week.
- 52:59SPEAKER_01: Um, I see where Justin and Cousin Larry were going with their their Bruce Lee themed songs, uh, and I almost went with Doug's pick because I love um flogging mollies.
- 53:13SPEAKER_01: But the absolute insanity and hilarity behind having Baby Shark playing who fighting everybody had me laughing.

- 1:11:40SPEAKER_22: The guy that's singing, uh, he has his own um solo project.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_22: And the other guy, Sean McCann, I think, the other singer in the group, also has his own music out.

- 1:12:19SPEAKER_14: Yeah, that's right.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_21: Uh that makes more sense.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_21: Let's see.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_22: I forgot to open these up, so let's there.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_21: So Jeff votes Smash.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_21: Um I have.
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_21: Sorry, something went wrong.
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_21: Just a second here.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_21: I have uh Bounce and Bob.
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_22: And Bounce and Bob said Great Big C Live.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_22: Uh like many maritime bands that play a rousing live performance, it rarely seems rousing when you hear it on a device.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_22: Such it is with Great High C.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_22: I'm not sure if he did that on purpose or if he meant Great Big C.
- 1:13:16SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 1:13:17SPEAKER_22: When you see them in person, you go away feeling enlivened by their music, but hearing them without seeing them live is like a car sitting in your door yard without a motor.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_22: It seems to have no purpose.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_22: So Bouncing Bob says.
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_22: Oh yeah.
- 1:14:05SPEAKER_22: Oh yeah.
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_22: Uh, which they perform for the first time at one of the Caribou concerts.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_22: My request for you to review their music.
- 1:14:11SPEAKER_22: Play, pay close attention to these songs which I consider their best.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_22: The county song, Portland Town, Ratlin' Bog.
- 1:14:18SPEAKER_14: Well, we we're well aware of uh Ratland Bog.
- 1:14:20SPEAKER_22: Which is not theirs.
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_22: It's it's a traditional song.
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_22: Unless it unless they wrote one called Ratlin' Bog.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_22: Doubt it.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_22: Uh I am very familiar with Schooner Fair.
- 1:14:31SPEAKER_22: I worked at Channel X Radio, and um the boss man, the owner of Channel X Radio uh at the time uh was a big fan.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_22: And we actually played them on the air.
- 1:14:40SPEAKER_22: And uh they are an acquired taste.
- 1:14:43SPEAKER_22: Yeah I mean it's it's it's uh it's folk music.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_14: It's it's it's Peter, Paul, and Mary on on Valium.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_22: Uh on a boat, basically.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_22: Right?
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_22: Um so I mean we could we could we could uh listen to some schooner fair at some point.
- 1:14:59SPEAKER_14: Sure.
- 1:14:59SPEAKER_22: Um that'll be we have one smash and one trash.
- 1:15:05SPEAKER_22: So I have cousin Larry, and he says uh the big uh the Great Big C live.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_22: I had never heard of these guys, so I pulled up the album on Amazon Music and gave it a listen.
- 1:15:17SPEAKER_22: I think these guys would be really fun to see live, and I really enjoyed the album.
- 1:15:21SPEAKER_22: However, I don't think it's a CD I would play a lot, and would probably just stream them if I wanted to listen to them.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_22: So I say thin the herd and trash this one.
- 1:15:30SPEAKER_22: Trash! Alright, so that's two trash, one smash.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_22: Do you have anybody else voting besides you and I?
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_22: Alright, so what's your vote?
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_22: What's your vote?
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_14: Mine smash, only because it has a DVD.
- 1:15:42SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_14: That's the only reason.
- 1:15:44SPEAKER_14: That is literally the only reason I would keep it.
- 1:15:47SPEAKER_22: Uh alright, so that's uh two and two.
- 1:15:51SPEAKER_22: Two and two.
- 1:15:51SPEAKER_22: So I'm the tiebreaker.
- 1:15:53SPEAKER_22: I'm the tiebreaker.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_22: Um I love this music.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_22: Uh I love this band, uh high energy, um, and it does have a DVD.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_22: Uh so I am voting to keep it.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_22: So I was, you know, these are the ones that I was on the fence about, and and I just got pushed over the edge.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_22: We're keeping this one.
- 1:16:14SPEAKER_22: Um I think it's the only Great Big C I owned.
- 1:16:16SPEAKER_22: Actually, I used to own uh one of their studio albums, and I don't remember what happened to it.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_14: Um I'm sure it's in the pile somewhere.
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_22: Yeah, somewhere.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_22: But I I I'm sure it's here.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_22: But this one has songs from that studio album.
- 1:16:29SPEAKER_22: Right.
- 1:16:30SPEAKER_22: Consequence Free is a great one, and um When I'm Up is also on there.
- 1:16:34SPEAKER_22: So um No, seriously, I'm not gonna I'm not joking.
- 1:16:39SPEAKER_22: It's no, I'm just my twelve-year-old brain just kicked in.
- 1:16:43SPEAKER_22: Oh, I know.
- 1:16:44SPEAKER_22: I just I I just want to make sure that people know this is what I'm talking about.
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_22: Well, I'm gonna let this play while I go pick another one.
- 1:16:50SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 1:17:47SPEAKER_21: All right, I have one.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_22: Okay.
- 1:17:49SPEAKER_22: Okay, so up for discussion.
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_22: This week is one of my favorite folk blues artists.
- 1:17:58SPEAKER_22: Um, and I'll just uh I'll just play a couple tracks here.
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_06: I know I'm a sinner.
- 1:18:16SPEAKER_06: I ain't some beginner.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_06: Gonna uncall me if I need a trouble, and I sit down and drink it up when I'm thirsty.
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_06: Something like a liquor.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_06: Get me even tighter and tighter.
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_06: I swear angels play.
- 1:18:37SPEAKER_06: Goodness.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_06: Is it really real?
- 1:18:40SPEAKER_06: If we take a try to know the way I feel all my floating in the blue.
- 1:18:48SPEAKER_22: I could take the credit, but it's thanks to you.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_22: Alright, I'll play the the title track.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_22: This is called Small Revelations.
- 1:18:57SPEAKER_14: You haven't decided who this is.
- 1:18:59SPEAKER_14: I know.
- 1:18:59SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_22: Doing that on purpose.
- 1:19:10SPEAKER_22: This is from nineteen ninety-seven, by the way.
- 1:19:32SPEAKER_06: That's the core of the treason.
- 1:20:15SPEAKER_22: So the artist is Chris Smither.
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_22: Um, like I said, folk blues.
- 1:20:20SPEAKER_22: This is the guy that that commands audiences with just his guitar most times and his foot.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_22: He's got one of those things that you have.
- 1:20:29SPEAKER_22: Stomp pedal.
- 1:20:29SPEAKER_22: Stomp pedal.
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_22: And I mean you can hear right just one step of us.
- 1:20:37SPEAKER_22: Actually, I don't know if he has a stomp pedal or if he just uses like a piece of wood.
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 1:20:43SPEAKER_14: Kind of like Hyatt used uh a couple years ago.
- 1:20:47SPEAKER_22: Uh you know this song.
- 1:20:49SPEAKER_22: It's just this is his version of it.
- 1:20:51SPEAKER_22: Traditional blues.
- 1:20:55SPEAKER_04: Get up and the money! Yep.
- 1:21:01SPEAKER_14: Robert Johnson.
- 1:21:02SPEAKER_14: Yep.
- 1:21:02SPEAKER_04: Get up and the money.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_04: I believe I'll do some brew.
- 1:21:07SPEAKER_22: I have lots of Chris Smither.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_22: This one again comes from 1997.
- 1:21:12SPEAKER_22: He got better as he got older, believe it or not.
- 1:21:16SPEAKER_22: His his uh latest stuff is pretty great.
- 1:21:19SPEAKER_06: Will I believe my time?
- 1:21:23SPEAKER_22: Uh but the album is called Small Revelations.
- 1:21:28SPEAKER_22: Chris Smither, Small Revelations.
- 1:21:30SPEAKER_22: So that is on the topping block this week.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_22: So you can preview and let me know what you think.
- 1:21:40SPEAKER_22: Is it uh smash or is it a trash this week?
- 1:21:45SPEAKER_18: Smash our trash.
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_18: Smash our trash.
- 1:21:49SPEAKER_22: Alright, is that it?
- 1:21:51SPEAKER_22: Guess so.

- 1:21:58SPEAKER_22: We're done.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_22: That's it, that's all done.
- 1:22:00SPEAKER_22: Alright, let's do it.
