- 0:01Hey. Everybody, welcome to the Good
- 0:03Morning from the Chicken Coop podcast.
- 0:05My name is Kim Johnson and I am a mastermindset, coach, creative
- 0:08strategist, and also happened to be a farmer.
- 0:11This is my Chicken coop and I come out here.
- 0:13Every day to record a podcast to.
- 0:15Teach distinctions, possibilities, new ways of
- 0:18thinking, and just bring some joy.
- 0:20Into the. World.
- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way. Hey everybody, good morning.
- 0:29OK, today we're going to talk about the fact that every single
- 0:33person on this planet has had bouts of saying, I don't know if
- 0:38I'm doing the right thing. Everybody, everyone has had it,
- 0:41myself included. I can tell you right now there
- 0:44have been multiple things that multiple projects that I've
- 0:47started and I've said to myself, I don't know if I'm doing the
- 0:49right thing. And this podcast is one of them.
- 0:52I have multiple clients right now in transition where they're
- 0:56like trying to figure out what their next moves are, what they
- 0:58want to do, what they want to transition and become, and how
- 1:02they want to, you know, take themselves either to the next
- 1:05level or maybe it's not even a next level.
- 1:08Maybe it's like, hey, I just want to do something different.
- 1:10And it's just always part of what we do as human beings.
- 1:16It this process of growing and expanding and seeing yourself
- 1:20different ways is not bad, my friends.
- 1:22It's not about, you know, us staying in the same spot
- 1:27forever. It's about being able to
- 1:29transform over and over and over again.
- 1:32And for, you know, lack of a better way to think of it.
- 1:34I mean, in this minute, think chameleon, you've got it.
- 1:37You're you're the essence of you.
- 1:39Your soul is always that entity and it's going to transform
- 1:43multiple times into multiple beautiful things.
- 1:47Is the transformation always comfortable?
- 1:49Hell no. Let me tell you, that is a hard
- 1:52hell no. It is not comfortable.
- 1:54I have been pouring into teaching myself how to do video
- 1:59and forcing myself to sit still, which, you know, I don't do
- 2:03well. Moving is my gig.
- 2:05It's my jam. I like to just be moving,
- 2:07moving, moving. Anyone who works with me knows
- 2:10if you coach with me, I'm going to be walking while I'm talking
- 2:13to you because it's when I'm 100% yours, focused.
- 2:17My brain is on fire. I like that.
- 2:20So to sit down and try to train my brain to do that while I'm
- 2:24sitting is really challenging. Now, for years I have done
- 2:29design, I've done all kinds of stuff.
- 2:31I've written books. How do I do that?
- 2:33Well, when I'm designing physical things in my head, like
- 2:37if I'm sitting there and I'm coming up with, let's say I'm
- 2:40designing a website, I'm scrolling in my head as I'm
- 2:43walking. I'll just walk quietly listening
- 2:45to music. And in my head I'm seeing that
- 2:48happening. I'm I'm working through it.
- 2:51Same thing when I'm writing a book, I get get a download in my
- 2:54head and I'm just like, and I'm taking notes, I'm talking to my
- 2:58phone, but video stuff, I have to sit my ass in that chair.
- 3:03I have to sit down and pay attention to it and it is
- 3:07excruciating. It's excruciating for me to do
- 3:10it. However, it's part of growth.
- 3:12It's not comfortable. And if I want to do what I want
- 3:15to do, I have to sit there and learn it because I have to be
- 3:19able to tell the story. And it's a different form of
- 3:21storytelling. So forcing, forcing us to grow,
- 3:26forcing us to transform, and all of us go through this process.
- 3:30There isn't any of us out there that I have ever encountered
- 3:34that have said even the people who are grumpy, even the people
- 3:37who I believe their souls came here to be the antagonist, to
- 3:41push us to get to the next place.
- 3:43And I look at them and I don't hate them.
- 3:45I look at them and I say thank you.
- 3:46Thank you for making me so much clearer on my own vision because
- 3:50of your vision. I love that.
- 3:52I love that. But that to me, even those
- 3:56people are transforming and and maybe they're upping their level
- 3:59of grumpiness. Maybe they're trying to
- 4:01transition, maybe they're turning into the Grinch and
- 4:04their heart is growing. Who knows?
- 4:05But The thing is, everybody's doing it.
- 4:08And beating yourself up for that process never helps.
- 4:12You know the beatings will continue until morale improves
- 4:14is never a good idea. So always important to remember
- 4:18the transition is the now. In the meantime, I'm doing this.
- 4:23In the meantime I'm, and I keep telling myself I am in the
- 4:26meantime with learning this stuff because once I get it, I
- 4:30know I will be fast at it. I know I won't have to sit for
- 4:34as long as I am right now. I know it won't be as physically
- 4:37uncomfortable for me. So it's just a matter of me
- 4:40being able to take in the information and telling myself,
- 4:44now when you're in this process, I want to just be very clear.
- 4:49The process requires that you don't go into it with Ohio.
- 4:53My God, this sucks. I got to sit down and do the
- 4:56same. Wrong approach.
- 4:59I have been going to bed every single night telling myself my
- 5:02subconscious mind is learning the software so quickly and my
- 5:06fingers are learning the software so quickly.
- 5:10For me. I want my fingers to know where
- 5:13to go so I don't have to think about that.
- 5:17So I'm telling myself that I'm so grateful that my fingers know
- 5:20where to go. I'm so grateful that my
- 5:22subconscious mind is remembering everything I'm watching in the
- 5:25trainings. I'm so grateful that my
- 5:27subconscious mind is seeing the video how I want it to be done
- 5:32before I start so I'm not stumbling into it.
- 5:35So I want to be able to look at a video clip and be able to just
- 5:39like see it done. And guess what?
- 5:41After about a week and a half, two weeks of, of playing around
- 5:44and seeing it and finally finding the right software, I
- 5:47didn't find the right software until last week.
- 5:49And just in, you know, maybe I'm going to say 6 hours of really
- 5:55diving in and not 6, just consecutive, but you know, six
- 5:59hours total. Maybe, maybe a little bit
- 6:01longer. I forget about how long I did it
- 6:02over the weekend, but honestly, my programming, my brain ahead
- 6:08of time has helped accelerate the process.
- 6:11So if you know you're always going to be in flux and you know
- 6:15you have to allow for those transitions because that's part
- 6:18of your process, then you can program yourself to make it
- 6:21easier. But you got to start that the
- 6:23night before. You can't walk in and be like,
- 6:25OK, I'm just going to force myself to do it now.
- 6:27Oh crap, this sucks. It doesn't matter how great the
- 6:30beverage is sitting next to you to try to get you to do it.
- 6:33It doesn't. It doesn't matter how good the
- 6:35snacks are. It doesn't matter how good the
- 6:36location is. What matters is what you tell
- 6:39yourself substantially ahead of time and what you take into
- 6:42sleep with you so that you can program your brain to think
- 6:45about it the right way. So do yourself the favor and
- 6:48program your brain the right way and get at it, because
- 6:51transition is always going to happen.
- 6:53All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I'll
- 6:55see you tomorrow. Bye.
