- 6:08within us everything that we need to overcome every obstacle that we face. And
- 6:13your precious and holy name, Jesus, I prayer. Amen. Now,
- 6:17let me introduce you to my guest. His name is Charles Smith. As
- 6:21I've said many times before, he is an award winning author, motivational speaker
- 6:27who has created waves in the industry by empowering people daily. And he knew
- 6:32that he needed to do that and the only way he could do that was
- 6:36by making an impact within himself, because in order to be impactful, you
- 6:42have to start with self first. So let's welcome my guest, mister Charles
- 6:45Smith. Hello, Hello, Hello, how are you. I am good,
- 6:49how are you? And thank you for being here, Thank you for
- 6:54having me, Thank you for having me. Of course. Now listen,
- 6:58the first question I am going to ask you, of course, is going
- 7:02to be about your books. Tell me about those and how did you get
- 7:06started with writing? So I started my first book probably like three maybe four
- 7:15years ago, and I know it was definitely around COVID. So so about
- 7:18three four years ago I started my first book. And when I started my
- 7:23book, I was basically really talking about my journey, you know, being
- 7:26an entrepreneur, you know how I got started, you know, just to
- 7:31help motivate others because a lot of times, you know, when it comes
- 7:34to being an entrepreneur, we have a lot of oppositions that us and I
- 7:41encountered some my positions, some in the physical aspect, you know, when
- 7:45it came to physical appearance. Some you know, just trying to navigate through
- 7:50high school and find my way, find my voice, and just you know,
- 7:55just to give people just some type of motivation, some type of confidence
- 7:59to know that that you know, in spite of whatever's going on in life,
- 8:03you can pursue your dreams. And then it kind of led to the
- 8:07Reboot, Reboot my Way of Thinking, which is my third published book,
- 8:11but this one, I'm not saying all of them are not special to me,
- 8:16but this one particular has a special place in my heart because this is
- 8:22the journey of my reboot, you know, booting me first before I can
- 8:26reboot the world, and I start off with rebooting my way of thinking.
- 8:31So with this one, it's it's it's really a plan of action, not
- 8:35only telling you how I became an entrepreneur, but showing your having you see
- 8:41yourself with your accountability and responsibility to yourself with a plan of action. So
- 8:46it's it's been an amazing journey with this book. So that's just a little
- 8:48bit of how I got started. Well, that's I mean that that takes
- 8:52a lot to look within self, and I think a lot of times we
- 8:56get distracted by the outside first, and when we start focusing on what we
- 9:03need to change outside, it gets so far to the left versus when you
- 9:07start from the inside, that outside really gets impacted that way. So I
- 9:13understand exactly what you're saying and taking a personal route. Did you find yourself
- 9:22learning more about yourself during that internalization to write the rebooting? Yes, it
- 9:30was a journey. It was a journey. But a lot of times,
- 9:33like I always teld people that I encountered, I really got a wake up
- 9:37call the end of last year. And it wasn't like a wake up call
- 9:41like something that was detrimental or something that just was just crazy that my eyes
- 9:45were open, But it was really when you know, I don't know whoever's
- 9:50watching, if you've ever been in a position where you already had what you
- 9:56needed to be successful, but a lot of times were blinded because we're too
- 10:00busy, there are other people's shadow or we're trying to look for affirmation from
- 10:05other people. So that's pretty much what my wake up call is. I
- 10:07was in a masterclass and with this masterclass, it was identity mapping, and
- 10:13I've never been in one of those class before, but it was it was
- 10:16super dope, and especially the coach was there because he used to be a
- 10:20pastor, which was which is dope, and so how he was doing it,
- 10:26it wasn't like he was trying to have you believe something. It was
- 10:31really you seeing you. So it was almost like you had a mirror and
- 10:35asserting a certain questions that only you could answer. Okay, he would throw
- 10:43the questions back to what the answer that you gave back at you, and
- 10:46he was like, oh, you know, like I answered my own questions.
- 10:50And it was like when you really got to dissect, you know,
- 10:54things that you already holding your nature, it was like wow, So the
- 10:58only person that's stopping me from being where I need to be is the man
- 11:03in the mirror or the woman in the mirror. So I when I realized
- 11:07that, I was like, whoa, Okay, okay, you know what
- 11:11you know, it's trying to level up, it's time to reboot. So
- 11:13I utilize. I utilize that method, and God gave me this message reboot,
- 11:20and it tricked me out. And when I go deeper in and tell
- 11:24you guys about the room, but you're gonna be like, oh my god,
- 11:26this is crazy because he took something so simplistic but added so much value
- 11:31in it. So it's like, no matter what audience I'm in front of,
- 11:35as soon as I give you the analogy and I go in depth of
- 11:37it, you're like, oh, this guy, But it's a wake up,
- 11:41you know, that's what it really needs to be. It's a week.
- 11:45But that's the that's the way that God works. It's the simplest things
- 11:48that he takes and builds the biggest revelation that you never ever would have thought
- 11:54of. And it's like, dang, it's been right here all along and
- 12:00I never looked at that. And that's just like Okay. Every morning on
- 12:03my way to work, I always if this is what like, I don't
- 12:09listen to music or anything in the car anymore. I don't know what's going
- 12:11on with that. But I enjoy the solitude because I enjoy the time that
- 12:16I have a guy on my way into work and from work. But every
- 12:20morning it's always you know, people are in a rush and they're trying to
- 12:26pass and they're doing all of this, And in the conversations that I have
- 12:30with God, and it's always, well, you see, those people are
- 12:33rushing, but they don't understand that they don't have to rush. They're gonna
- 12:37arrive at their destination at the time that is a sign for them to get
- 12:41there. So it doesn't matter what you're going through and how fast you feel
- 12:45like, you know you started this late and you're not there on time,
- 12:48You're always going to be on the time that is destined for God to have
- 12:54you there. So you can rush all you want to, but there's always
- 12:56gonna be something that's gonna hinder or you from getting there at the expected time
- 13:01that you want it versus the time that God wants you to be there.
- 13:05So every morning, it's always that little thing that he brings to me when
- 13:09I'm thinking about, Okay, oh my God, I'm gonna be late.
- 13:13If I have to stop here, or if I have to go here,
- 13:15or if I choose to go this direction, there's always gonna be something,
- 13:20And so it relates back to me thinking about Okay, well, am I
- 13:22right on time for what I'm supposed to be doing because I have these goals
- 13:26that I'm trying to reach and that I set the proper deadline for this or
- 13:31whatever. He's like, Okay, you're doing it again. I need you
- 13:35to focus on what I told you to do. Just stay focused, and
- 13:39you will get to the destination that I have for you. Don't try to
- 13:43go to the left, and don't try to go to the right. Stay
- 13:46focused, and you're gonna get where you need to go. And so that's
- 13:48one of the things that I think God has a way of showing you that
- 13:52simple thing and a bigger picture. You know, there you go. My
- 14:01next question for you is when you started writing the book to reboot and to
- 14:09get in front of people to speak, were you ever around a group of
- 14:13people who try to plant seeds of doubt in what you were doing? And
- 14:18if you did, how did you maneuver yourself away from those types of conversations,
- 14:24Because I know we always encounter those types of people and they want to
- 14:28tell us, well, I don't see what you're seeing. I don't think
- 14:31that's gonna happen. I don't think you're gonna do that. How did you
- 14:35handle that? Honestly, just being sured yourself. You know, I'm a
- 14:41god feeling man, So anything that I do, you know, I'm confident,
- 14:46you know. And God told me, he was like, I'm gonna
- 14:50put you on different platforms. It's gonna be big platforms, it's gonna be
- 14:54small platforms. Is that I need you to go in there like you a
- 14:58vet, like you ave? They're not this thing like like he said straight
- 15:03up, And I was like, I got you, you know, and
- 15:05he and he was there were platforms. This platform is just like, oh
- 15:09it's a little small and in those plats from like oh this is okay.
- 15:11I like this, you know, but yeah, I still get I still
- 15:15get the same energy. Why because I am confident in who I am and
- 15:20whose I am. So at the end of the day, we're gonna face
- 15:24opposition in life. I mean, that's just the nature of life, especially
- 15:28when you have big goals and big dreams. You know, that's what they
- 15:31always say with that quote. You know, if your dreams are not big,
- 15:33if your dreams don't scare you, they're not bigger than you know.
- 15:37And I mean we have to learn to operate in fear. I mean,
- 15:41that's just that's just how it goes. If you if you are not fearful
- 15:46of things, especially when it comes to your goals. I mean, you
- 15:50gotta find something else. And when it comes to opposition, when it comes
- 15:54to those barriers, when it comes to those ropelikes, it could be anything.
- 15:58Be family, men, it could be your relationships, you know,
- 16:02it could be kids. You know, it could be people who just don't
- 16:04like you, don't even know you, but they just don't like it because
- 16:07it's you. You know. But at the end of the day, you
- 16:10got to focus on the goal. You know. I often tell people,
- 16:14actually I tell them and I also put it as a quote. You know,
- 16:18when we look at Steve Jobs, you know, we look at all
- 16:21these people who went after their dreams and created what we now use today.
- 16:27Even when they're gone, we still use it. Imagine they stopped their dream
- 16:33Just think about it. The things that we enjoy right now, even our
- 16:37TVs are cars, whatever the case is. Imagine at that time they stopped
- 16:41their dreams because of opposition. Yeah. See, when we take it,
- 16:48they're so close to their breakthroughs, but when they feel like they're not gonna
- 16:52make it. They stop because they've had so many obstacles, they've passed so
- 16:57many road blocks, and they're life, you know what, I just can't
- 17:00take it no more. I'm done. But then they don't understand if they
- 17:03go just two more steps, that their breakthrough and everything that they've prayed for
- 17:08and been working towards is right on the other side. And I always say,
- 17:14for myself, I don't care how many times people tell me no.
- 17:17As long as I get that yes from God, I'm gonna keep going,
- 17:21you know. And one of the things that I can say about going after
- 17:26and letting go of my fears is when I did my first book, when
- 17:30I tell you it was not perfect, but I wasn't looking for perfection.
- 17:34And people often make the mistake of thinking that everything has to be perfect.
- 17:40And I didn't do it for perfection. I did it because I was being
- 17:44obedient to what God said to do. And it was like, I've been
- 17:47holding on to all of these poems for so many years, and people had
- 17:51asked was I going to write a book? And I would always say one
- 17:53day, one day, one day, Well, God got tired of me
- 17:57saying one day, he was like, I just need you to put these
- 18:00poets in a book. I don't care what it looks like. I just
- 18:03need you to do it. And I was like, hey, whatever,
- 18:07I'm gonna do it. So I did it. And I had people very
- 18:11critical say, you know what, I would never put my name on something
- 18:15like that, and my answer to them would be, well, it's not
- 18:18your assignment, so of course you're not gonna put your name on something that
- 18:22doesn't belong to you. It was never yours in the first place. And
- 18:26so after doing that, that led to a speaking engagement. After that,
- 18:32it led to a virtual monologue. After that, it led to two additional
- 18:37books. After that, it's led me to starting my publishing business. So
- 18:42I was obedient regardless of what was said about me and what still being said.
- 18:48It's never what man says, it's always what God says, and it's
- 18:52always where He's gonna place you. As long as you're being obedient and walking
- 18:56through the path in the direction that got God has for you, you will
- 19:00not miss anything that's coming to you. And so I want to make sure
- 19:06that I surround myself with people who can pour into me just as much as
- 19:10I pour into them, and I keep myself in smaller circles for that particular
- 19:15reason. But I'm learning to step outside of myself because I'm still very shy
- 19:21when it comes to doing things of this nature, which people tend to find
- 19:26that very hard to believe. But that's just how I am in my nature.
- 19:32But God always tells me that He's gonna place me and connect me with
- 19:34the people that I'm supposed to be connected with. And so that's just what
- 19:40I do. I'm connected to who God leads me to be connected to,
- 19:45and so I don't straight away from that. And when I tell you the
- 19:48test, they do come and it's like, oh Lord, today, it's
- 19:53not today. I don't feel like I'm doing enough. And he always tells
- 19:59me go pray about it and go to sleep. In the morning, you'll
- 20:00feel different. And that's what I do. Do you have something that you
- 20:04do for yourself when you're feeling overwhelmed, are frustrated when it's coming to something
- 20:11that is next on your list of goals? Basically what you said, you
- 20:18know, and just stay around positive people. But I like to on my
- 20:22wine down time, I like to listen to pastor Mike Jr. And Todd
- 20:26you know, I like to, yeah, poor myself with them everything that
- 20:32they're talking about, because I feel like they're just like a they're just like
- 20:36a yes. But you can you can tell the difference between people who are
- 20:41passionate in what they do because they go the extra mile. Yes, there's
- 20:45there's a difference between just talking just to talk, but actually having a message.
- 20:52Yeah, you know, and people don't know the difference. It's people
- 20:55that just talk talk, but then when you have people who actually have a
- 21:00message, it does something different to you, like, oh, yeah,
- 21:03how'd you do that? You know, And yeah, people say it's because
- 21:08of the annointing that is on your life. Yeah, you know. So
- 21:12it's just yeah, you know, just stay around positive people, you know,
- 21:15keep positive injury it. Make sure whatever I'm watching, whatever I'm i'm
- 21:22reading, whoever's in my ear, just just make sure it's positive because that
- 21:26just a little bit of negatitivity it can do a lot. So it can
- 21:30definitely do a lot of damage. There's something that pastor Michael Todd said yesterday.
- 21:36I saw the clip of it, and it was him talking about him
- 21:41making his daughter some popcorn and he was thinking about, you know, just
- 21:48what in that bag? And God gave him the message that people never want
- 21:52to go through a season of discomfort. But in that season of comfort with
- 21:57that little seed, it has to be comfortable to expand into something bigger and
- 22:03something greater. And sometimes we don't want to place ourselves in situations where we
- 22:07have to be uncomfortable for a temporary moment. The bigger and the greater always
- 22:14comes if we're willing to expand outside of what we see. And sometimes we
- 22:18don't want to take that leap of faith. We don't want to take that
- 22:22risk because we're afraid of the outcome. But my thing is, if you're
- 22:26afraid of the outcome, you're never gonna get started. And I feel like
- 22:30as we get older, we lose that sense of fearlessness that we had as
- 22:37kids. You know, when we were really, really small, we didn't
- 22:41fear much of anything. You know, where dar Devil's We're gonna jump off
- 22:45this, at least I know I was. I don't know about you know,
- 22:48anybody else, but I'm jumping out of swings. I'm only for eight
- 22:52number one, So me jumping on stuff, climbing on stuff, you know,
- 22:57playing with the boys, the football, all the baseball, doing all
- 23:00the stuff that they would tell me that I couldn't do because I was too
- 23:03small. I'm gonna show you. I'm gonna do it anyway. So I
- 23:07don't care nothing about what you say. And I'm still that way as I've
- 23:14gotten older. I really don't waste time with the thoughts of other people.
- 23:18Because as long as God is pleased, and my kids are pleased, and
- 23:22the people who care for me are pleased, then I have no worries at
- 23:26all. So if you like me, you like me. If you love
- 23:29me, you love me. If you don't, that ain't my problem because
- 23:32that ain't my business, you know, So that's my thing. It's not
- 23:37my business. If you don't like me, that's your business. And that's
- 23:41how you're feeling. You're entitled to feel that way. But I can't be
- 23:45worried about whether you like me or not. And if I'm saying something that
- 23:49helps you, then great. Even if you don't want to give me credit
- 23:52for saying it to you, that's fine too. But as long as you
- 23:56take it and give it to somebody else that can utilize as what I've given
- 24:00to you, I am all for that. I don't hide anything from anybody,
- 24:04and I'm always willing to give more than I received because I don't look
- 24:10at it as if if I give you this and you don't give me anything
- 24:14back, did I really receive something? Yes, I received something. I
- 24:18received the fact that you took the time, whether you want to acknowledge it
- 24:22or not, to listen to what I had to say, and you shared
- 24:25it with somebody else. So the gift did come back to me. Whether
- 24:29I get the credit for it doesn't matter. You cared enough to share what
- 24:33I told you to somebody else, and that's always going to be given regardless.
- 24:38Have you encountered any hard obstacles over the last year that has had you
- 24:48second guess anything about your journey so far? You know, like I said
- 24:55at the beginning, I mean I just come to realization even since high school,
- 25:00you know, you know, just just just navigating through high school.
- 25:04You know, you're always gonna face opposition. I just learned to adapt to
- 25:08it, right, not let it dictate to where I'm going. Yeah,
- 25:14does it it sucked when it's there? Yes, you know, because my
- 25:15business, my biggest thing was finance. You know, I always had a
- 25:19big dream, you know, big vision. I'm like, you know,
- 25:22and I'm an investor, so it's like when it comes to investing and risk
- 25:26taking, I'm like, no, I'm gonna do it. Why because I
- 25:29am so passionate in what I do and I believe in myself. But a
- 25:32lot of times finance is that obstacle because it's like, uh, brother,
- 25:37you know you're gonna either take that chance or you know you're gonna take care
- 25:40of your family, Like which are you gonna do? Right? Reality,
- 25:44you know, always kicks in, but you know, I just feel like
- 25:48during the process, I feel like, you know, in every setting that
- 25:51I was in, it's so true that if God can trust you over the
- 25:56small, you know, he'll make you rule over men. And a lot
- 25:59of times we forget that that point because we're so worried about the big.
- 26:03Yeah, And I feel like when we're so worried about the big, that's
- 26:07where it becomes overwhelming and we start seeing a lot of oppositions more not because
- 26:15not because we're not close to you know, achieving our dreams or you know
- 26:19it's not gonna happen, but a lot of times we're not even taking care
- 26:23of what God has already given us. Yeah, so God is looking at
- 26:26us it's like, you know, while we're complaining to him, like,
- 26:30God, you know I told you this is what I wanted, you said
- 26:33your promises is yeah, ain, man, God, I've been doing good.
- 26:36Geeve, how come I'm not here yet? How come I have not
- 26:40arrived yet? And he's like, well, because you haven't maximized what I
- 26:44have given you. Yeah. We look at it like, oh, you
- 26:48know. My uncle used always say, he said, you know, the
- 26:51juice is always worth to squeeze. Yes, it's always worth the squeeze.
- 26:56And when he told me that, I was like, wow, man.
- 26:57And a lot of times we we squeezed just enough until we see some juice.
- 27:03Then if you squeeze a little more, and you squeeze a little more,
- 27:07you like, oh man, I have more than enough, not just
- 27:11for me before other people are yes, if we get just the team to
- 27:15squeeze. But the thing is how much are you willing to squeeze? Yeah,
- 27:21it's basically how bad do you want the things that you've prayed and asked
- 27:23God for? And it comes down to that. And I always say this
- 27:29is that is if God showed you everything that you were going to have to
- 27:33go through to get what you've prayed and asked for, would you actually be
- 27:37willing to go through it? I had someone the other day asked me a
- 27:40question, and that was, what I change anything about my life to go
- 27:48back to being eighteen or nineteen years old? And my answer to them was
- 27:52no. And the reason why it's because I would not be who I am
- 27:56right now. I had my daughter early, all my kids I had under
- 28:02the age of twenty three, and I have three of them, and married
- 28:10and divorced by the age of twenty nine, had a stroke at the age
- 28:15of thirty, had lost my ability to use my left side, lost my
- 28:18speech at the age of thirty four. So going through everything that I've gone
- 28:23through, being diagnosed with the brain disorder, being diagnosed with a brain aneurism,
- 28:29and all of those things, I still would not be who I am
- 28:33today if I went back and changed all of that. Because there's something that
- 28:37God needed me to go through in order to be able to show people that
- 28:41there is greater on the other side. And if I continue to walk forward,
- 28:45I will always be in the space in which He's created for me.
- 28:49So no, I wouldn't go back and change one single thing about what I've
- 28:53been through and what I've gone through, And so I started to learn to
- 28:57ask God the question whenever I start to go through something that's hard, is
- 29:03what do I need to learn in this moment that is preparing me for the
- 29:07next moment that's coming. So what do I need to take from now?
- 29:11Because there's a skill that I need that I have not mastered yet and I'm
- 29:17going to need it. So what is this moment teaching me? What can
- 29:21I share with someone else who's going through something similar? And every time he
- 29:26always reveals it to me, and I'm like, I ain't really think about
- 29:30it like that, but now that you put it that way, I see
- 29:33what you're doing. And a lot of times God doesn't want us to figure
- 29:37it out right then he wants us to go through it so that when we
- 29:41get through it, we can go back and acknowledge the fact that He was
- 29:45always there. And I hate the old saying and the old cliche is that
- 29:49God he gives his toughest battles to his toughest soldiers. And what I say
- 29:56to that is God already knows the person he created, So it's up to
- 30:02us to look within. As you stay, reboot and rethink about everything to
- 30:07get to who he's created us to be, because everything that we need to
- 30:12be that person is instilled within us already. We have to dig deep and
- 30:18figure out what it is that we've been created for, who we've been created
- 30:23to help, and to use that discernment to remain humble and in the face
- 30:30of situations where it makes you question are you really built for this? Because
- 30:37people will come in and try to test you, and you like, Okay,
- 30:41God, you know what, I don't know if I got it in
- 30:45me today to be the child that you created me to be. I'm gonna
- 30:49have to lean over here. So it's like, Okay, I'm gonna gone
- 30:52over here because you told me to keep my mouth closed, So I'm gonna
- 30:56keep my mouth closed even though I want to say something. I'm gonna going
- 31:00over here because you said that now it's not the time you will have the
- 31:03final word and the final say. So learning that. Have you ever had
- 31:08to encounter something like that, Yeah, where God had to check you and
- 31:15say now ain't the time. Yeah? I mean I feel like we had
- 31:19those interactions on a Yeah, it's on a daily let's feel like that because
- 31:26you know, like me, I'm always. I'm always I'm gonna go get
- 31:30her, you know. So I had the type of mentality like, Okay,
- 31:34God, I think it took a little bit too long, so I'm
- 31:37gonna just do it. You know, I'm gonna get it done. And
- 31:40sometimes I'll go ahead. I find myself going ahead of God. You know.
- 31:45Now, you know, I believe everything changed when I have my daughter.
- 31:48I just had my daughter. She's she's sixteen months. Oh yeah,
- 31:52so it's everything kind of like slowed down because it put me in a different
- 31:57perspective. Okay, God, I'm an entrepreneur, I said, God,
- 32:01I want to be a full time entrepreneur. At the time, I was
- 32:05still an entrepreneur, but you know, still working nine to five. And
- 32:07he used that investing in dreams like they say, and then but I was
- 32:12like, God, I want to be a full time entrepreneur. He gave
- 32:15me that. I was working at ADP in a garnishment department. I was
- 32:17sitting down. I was like, man, God, how can I bring
- 32:21you some extra cash flow? And you know, he was talking to me.
- 32:24So I just started writing down and he was like, I want you
- 32:28to open up a boutique. I said a boutique. I said, you
- 32:30know what, I open up a woman's boutique, guy, because you know,
- 32:34women's like the shot. You know, yeah, it's easy. But
- 32:37then he was like no, he said, I don't want you to open
- 32:39up a woman's boutique. I need you to open up a men's boutique.
- 32:44I said what I said, didn't like the shot? I said, they
- 32:47don't like the shot? God, I said, I don't know about that.
- 32:50So I slept on it. I slept on it and I told my
- 32:53wife and she was like, she'said, okay, she said, whatever guy
- 32:57is, it's something you do, you should do it. Yeah, like
- 33:00I said. So the next day, I'm starting to draw drama out the
- 33:04logo and I'm making a slogan and I'm like, yeah, nah, I
- 33:07said, nah, God, I ain't gonna do it. So long story
- 33:10try. I finally did it. And when I did it, I'm like,
- 33:14man, god, I'm a full time entrepreneur. I said, let's
- 33:16do it. You know, at the time, I only had like seventeen
- 33:20hundred dollars to my name, and I was just enough for the deposit,
- 33:22I said, And I like, I like nice stuff, So it's like,
- 33:27yeah, to building and getting contractors and giving me totals. I'm like,
- 33:30do it, just do it, not worrying about how much it costs.
- 33:34You know what I'm saying, right, But the beautiful thing is let's
- 33:37not I know that it's very important. Like you said, when you're obedient
- 33:40to God, things is things is work. You don't know how it's being
- 33:44taken care of. And at the time, it doesn't matter because it's being
- 33:46taken care of, you know, all right, it was thank God,
- 33:50you know. And at the same time he blessed me with my daughter.
- 33:53So I'm like, well, hold up, guy, I said, I
- 33:54was. And so you know, long story, shortage, just you know,
- 34:04you think about it and it sounds funny, but I feel like that's
- 34:07a part of the journey, you know, and and it's building you because
- 34:13a lot of times you don't know how much you're able to handle until you
- 34:16gotta handle it. And as you're handling it, not only are you growing,
- 34:22but you're maturing. And look at you know, birth out of That
- 34:27was my message the reboot. Who would it knew? I mean, you
- 34:30know, my dad, I come from a line of preachers. My grandpa
- 34:32was a preacher, My Grandma's a preacher. My dad's a preacher. You
- 34:37know, he's a passive church and being a preacher son, it's like,
- 34:40you know, they automatically say, you know what you're gonna be. You're
- 34:43gonna be up next, You're gonna be preaching over don't you run from it?
- 34:46And I felt like that wasn't me. You know, I was ministering
- 34:50through music. I was a Christian rap artist. I said, that's my
- 34:52outlet, you know, from other ways, you know, But now you
- 34:57know, I noticed, you know, I've been preaching a lot more.
- 35:00You know, it's God's word. And then now I have the messes of
- 35:04the reboot, and it's like how everything is working. I just learned to
- 35:07trust God. I can't run from it, I can't hire from it,
- 35:12I can't argue it right, So I'm so powerful with it and I know
- 35:16that it's not about me. But I got to think about the next man,
- 35:21you know, the next person who's dreaming. And Tyler Perry said something
- 35:24so dope. He said, be careful, he said, because you never
- 35:29know who your dream is attached to exactly. And a lot of time,
- 35:32if I started dreaming, I don't know who was banking on me to make
- 35:37my dream so they can make that. Yeah, yeah, you know what
- 35:40I'm saying. So I think that's very important. So yeah, I made
- 35:45a video about that, not probably a couple of years ago, about being
- 35:50the connection to the blessing for someone else. So I'll probably post that again
- 35:54to reenterate that that point that you just made. But God never checks our
- 36:00finances. He chested our faith, and that's one of the things that we
- 36:05have to think. God never asked you to check your bank account to see
- 36:08if you can afford that house or that car. He just told you to
- 36:12go and do it, and if you're obedient to it, he blows your
- 36:15mind every single time. Now, tell me a little bit about the books
- 36:21that you have and how we can find them. So they're all on Amazon.
- 36:25The Amazon, I mean I could, I could, I could send
- 36:30the link, but just the Reboot by Gun, the Reboot by Gun,
- 36:35or you can just go into my name Charles W. Smith Jr. And
- 36:37they'll they'll all come up. Okay, you can take it up on Amazon.
- 36:40I guarantee you guys gonna be disappointed. You'll love them because it's not
- 36:45it's not just about me, but it's about finding yourself through the dream,
- 36:50right, And it's good to find somebody to relate because there's not a lot
- 36:53of people who are open enough to talk about it, right, So when
- 36:58you find somebody who's relatable, it just Yeah. I feel like sometimes people
- 37:02feel overwhelmed or like if they share the information that the person that they're sharing
- 37:10it with is gonna outshine them, so they try to keep that information to
- 37:15themselves. And I'm not wanting to keep any information to myself because what I'm
- 37:20gonna do with if I died, you know, all this information that I
- 37:22had, all this knowledge that I had, and I kept it to myself,
- 37:25it benefited no one but myself. And that's selfish in my opinion.
- 37:30That's just my thoughts on that. So anything that I learned, I'm willing
- 37:34to share with somebody else because I feel like they could learn or they can
- 37:38even teach me something that I'm not even seeing at that time. So I'm
- 37:43always open to learning something new and sharing what I know with someone else because
- 37:50I had to learn this from somebody else. Even if I taught myself something,
- 37:53if I can teach you exactly, That's the simplest thing is even learning
- 37:59how to sew, learn how to cook, learning how to drive a car,
- 38:02all of this information. If you keep it all to yourself, you're
- 38:05being very selfish. And that's not why God put you here to be selfish
- 38:09with the gifts and the talents that he gave you. So share that with
- 38:13someone else, because we all make an impact. We're all connected together.
- 38:17And also where our fence is only as good as the links that are connected
- 38:24together. You can't build a fence if you have broken links. And if
- 38:29you don't want to connect with someone else, then really, what are you
- 38:31doing it for. You're in competition with other people who are not even competing
- 38:37with you. They're trying to learn and collaborate with you so that you all
- 38:42can be bigger and better, but you're stuck over here. I'm gonna keep
- 38:45this to myself because I don't want you to have it, because I feel
- 38:49like if I give it to you, you're gonna outshine me. But I've
- 38:52never seen two candles that blew out at the same time by one lighting the
- 38:58other. If one lights one, it can like two more, and if
- 39:00two more can like those, then it continues on like that. So there's
- 39:05no reason to be so selfish and not wanting to share something with someone else.
- 39:09I always feel like there's no reason to be selfish. If you prepare
- 39:15a meal that you want to share with someone else, teach them how to
- 39:20prepare that meal so that they can share that with someone else. The knowledge
- 39:24that you have, give that to someone else, because when you're dead and
- 39:28gone and you took that with you, no one benefits from that, you
- 39:31know. So whatever God is giving to you, whatever God shares with you,
- 39:39continue to do what you've done. And I will continue to do what
- 39:44I've done. This is second season for me with this podcast. And when
- 39:50I tell you, I try to run away from this, I try to
- 39:52run away from a lot of stuff God has set for me to do.
- 39:54And it's like he always come back and tap me on my shoulder and say,
- 39:58young lady, you got somewhere you to be at this time and I
- 40:01need you to show up. And I'm like, God, I don't even
- 40:04know what I'm supposed to say. I don't even know what I'm supposed to
- 40:06do. And He's like God, and ask you none of that. I
- 40:08asked you to show up, and that's all I need you to do.
- 40:12If you show up, I'll give you the words that you need to speak,
- 40:15I'll give you the advice that you need to give. I'll give you
- 40:17what you need. I just need you to show up. So do you
- 40:22have any questions or anything that you want to ask me before we start to
- 40:27wind down, because I'm definitely gonna invite you to come back on the show
- 40:30because I feel like I need a panel of gentlemen from different perspectives and different
- 40:36walks of life to share with the female community of how to communicate with each
- 40:45other and how to build healthy relationships overall. And I would like to have
- 40:51you on that panel. I love it. I love it, Yes,
- 40:54and I'll definitely be on that panel. I question. I just you know,
- 41:00I just love you know, talking and collible with different people that have
- 41:06the energy, to have the confidence, that have the boldness. And really
- 41:09that's just what reboot is, you know, I tell everybody it's just it's
- 41:13as simple as a push of a button. You know, a lot of
- 41:15times we want to know what happens when I push instead of just pushing it.
- 41:21Yeah, the only time we really just push is it, you know,
- 41:23if something's happening, we're in dire need of help, and we see
- 41:28a red button flashing, you know, I'm about to push it, you
- 41:30know, because you know I'm in a state of an emergency. But when
- 41:35it comes to us in our way of thinking, you know, it's we
- 41:37stop ourselves from jumping over that hurdle. Yes, and a lot of times
- 41:43we can't blame nobody else. Now, keep in mind, it could be
- 41:45the environment that we're in, but it starts with us. It starts with
- 41:50us, and it's pushing that button. You know. If I'm tired of
- 41:52be in debt, I push that button to correct my debt so I can
- 41:55have better finances. If I'm tired of being sick, well push that buddy
- 42:00to start the process of my healing. But we have to push the buddy.
- 42:05Nobody's gonna us and see that there's a need to push that. But
- 42:09it's that's that's really what the reboot is. So I had to appreciate you,
- 42:13you know, or even taking the time to hear me out, and
- 42:16oh, yeah, you was awesome. Yes, I'm glad that you were
- 42:21able to be available and to be a part of this. And I will
- 42:23be honest when I sent the message out, when I made the post,
- 42:28and I, like I told you, I'm very shy when it comes to
- 42:30doing things of that nature. But God was like, make the post and
- 42:35allow people to come in and share their journey, share their stories, share
- 42:38what they've overcome, and the inspiration that they can bring to other people.
- 42:42And I was terrified to do that, and I did not expect the response
- 42:46that I've gotten from that. And it's all because God said, do what
- 42:51I told you to do, and I was obedient and I did it.
- 42:53And so I've been able to book a lot of people to be on this
- 42:58platform because I want to be a to allow people to share what they've been
- 43:01through and be able to network with each other, you know, and build
- 43:08relationships outside of just being on this podcast, because you'll hear from me anyway
- 43:14regardless, you know. So I will do check in, see how you're
- 43:17doing, see how the baby, the wife and everybody's doing. That's just
- 43:22the person that I am. So don't think that just because we've talked today,
- 43:24this is gonna be the last time you hear from me, because it
- 43:28ain't. You've got a friend. So this is just how I am.
- 43:31I don't know any other way to be, And so anytime I interact with
- 43:37anybody on this show or just in general, you gonna see me and you
- 43:42gonna hear from me, because I'm gonna be checking in seeing what you got
- 43:44going on. Is there anything that I can help you with? Is there
- 43:46something that you need from me? Because I feel like if I extended this
- 43:52branch, my branch did not stop with just one limb. There's multiple that
- 43:57come off of there, so there's a route that's down there. So as
- 44:00long as I'm extending, I'll never stop growing and I'll never stop learning from
- 44:05the people that I connect with. So I thank you. I thank you
- 44:08so much for your time. I thank you for being here. I will
- 44:13be back on Sunday, actually because I have another guest that's coming up,
- 44:16and that's Miss Bridget Green, and we're gonna be talking about neurodiversity and empowerment.
- 44:22So that's gonna be an interesting show and an interesting topic because it's something
- 44:27that I had never heard of before in my life. So I'm interested to
- 44:30have this conversation and to learn something new that I didn't know. But the
- 44:36way that I always close my show out, and this is my saying that
- 44:38I have, and that is stay out of God's business. The only thing
- 44:44that he needs you to do is be obedient to what He's called you to
- 44:46do. So as long as you're being obedient to everything God tells you to
- 44:51do, you will never be off track. You will always arrive on time,
- 44:53and nothing will go to the wrong address. It will always be addressed
- 44:59to you, and it will all always be on time. So again,
- 45:01I thank you for being here tonight, and I think everybody for tuning in.
- 45:06Do not miss me again on Sunday, and do not miss my sister's
- 45:10podcast. It's a lot of us, so tune in every night right now
- 45:15except for Tuesday, but you get us every night at eight o'clock. Thank
- 45:20you guys for being here. Have a good night. Bye, Oh person
- 45:25person, all things ain't bank, Where did all the blue sky? Or
- 45:38as you missed Oga
