Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus at the ten yard live second to eight
- 0:08Speaker 1: free wide receivers now in motion as Bumpas left to right,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Julius Jones, a single setback Matt Pumpfecks looking at the
- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line, he throws it into the end zone. Touchdown.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catch in
- 0:21Speaker 1: the end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Pumpas
- 0:25Speaker 1: and the kid out of Washington State has found himself
- 0:28Speaker 1: a place on this team powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:33Speaker 1: What a folks. This is Michael Bumpas and you're listening
- 0:35Speaker 1: to Hawk Talk Preview edition Week fourteen. As always, I'm
- 0:39Speaker 1: here with my producer Nasa Choby. The Seahawks are facing
- 0:42Speaker 1: the Los Angeles Rams in Los Angeles at the Coliseum,
- 0:45Speaker 1: a familiar place for Pete Carroll. But before we get
- 0:48Speaker 1: into it, here's an injury update. All right, thanks Michael.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Pete Carroll stepped up to the podium. Is he this
- 0:53Speaker 1: every single week and gave this update on Ziggyanza, who
- 0:56Speaker 1: played well last week, but it's recovering from a shoulder stinger.
- 0:59Speaker 1: He looks. He looks like he's doing okay so far.
- 1:02Speaker 1: We won't know what. I won't know for a couple
- 1:05Speaker 1: of days if he's clear and all that. So obviously
- 1:07Speaker 1: we hope Zigianza is getting ready to go for this Sunday.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Did a great job no sacks last week, but did
- 1:12Speaker 1: have tons of QB pressures and hits on the other
- 1:15Speaker 1: side of the defensive line. Jadeveon Clowney, who made it
- 1:18Speaker 1: back to action last week against the Vikings, is still
- 1:20Speaker 1: recovering from a core muscle injury, but things are looking
- 1:23Speaker 1: pretty good, pretty good. He's you know, practicing today and
- 1:27Speaker 1: that's a really good sign. It's a really good sign.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Good to hear there from coach Pete. And lastly, it
- 1:31Speaker 1: seemed like the entire team was dealing with the flu.
- 1:34Speaker 1: A lot of guys getting sick, a lot of guys
- 1:36Speaker 1: being sent home. But it does seem like the bug
- 1:38Speaker 1: has finally moved on. We're pretty good shape, hanging on
- 1:42Speaker 1: to our coaching staff. Now let make sure they make
- 1:44Speaker 1: it through all right, Michael, As you mentioned, we'll get
- 1:45Speaker 1: into the seahawks Week fourteen opponent, a rematch with the
- 1:49Speaker 1: Los Angeles Rams. The Rams who got beat pretty good
- 1:52Speaker 1: against the Ravens a couple weeks ago, got back on
- 1:55Speaker 1: the recovery trail, ended up blowing out the Cardinals thirty
- 1:59Speaker 1: four to seven. Rams looking to build on age twenty
- 2:02Speaker 1: to zero lead, third down and eight from the Cardinals eleven.
- 2:06Speaker 1: They break the huddle with fifteen on the play clock.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Girly to the right of Golf. Three receivers out left,
- 2:11Speaker 1: one right. Golf has a shotgun snap looking right all
- 2:13Speaker 1: the way. He spends one to the goal line and
- 2:15Speaker 1: a toe tap by Cooper Cup for the touchdown. Touchdown
- 2:20Speaker 1: la Jared Goff couldn't have locked it down there and
- 2:23Speaker 1: placed it any better. Cooper Cup brings it in to
- 2:26Speaker 1: take the lead to twenty six. Nothing where it is
- 2:29Speaker 1: that outbreaking route that I was talking about. I should
- 2:31Speaker 1: have just went with my first guest and not to
- 2:33Speaker 1: the second one. But Cooper Cup just runs a phenomenal
- 2:36Speaker 1: route on Patrick Peters, I mean, spends him around the
- 2:39Speaker 1: balls place around the Cooper Cup can get it. He's
- 2:41Speaker 1: able to catch you get two feet down again. This team,
- 2:44Speaker 1: they're starting to fill himself. They're starting to get in
- 2:45Speaker 1: that confidence again. They have a little walking around swagger
- 2:48Speaker 1: to him. This is what you want. You gotta keep
- 2:50Speaker 1: that going, all right, Michael. The Rams trying to get
- 2:53Speaker 1: that confidence back. I got that swagger back, a swag
- 2:56Speaker 1: of it all started with Jared goff He bounced back
- 2:59Speaker 1: from a rough November one of his best games of
- 3:01Speaker 1: the season, through for four hundred and twenty four yards
- 3:03Speaker 1: and two touchdowns as the Rams were dominant over the
- 3:07Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals. Now it is a bounce back game. It
- 3:09Speaker 1: was against the Cardinals. But you gotta respect the numbers.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Oh you can't. I mean it's in every week league,
- 3:15Speaker 1: you know, it doesn't matter what happened you last week.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It's always about the next week, and that's what they need.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It didn't matter Jared Goffin, as you mentioned, it struggled
- 3:21Speaker 1: in November, didn't throw a touchdown pass in the whole month,
- 3:24Speaker 1: which is shocking to me and a Sean mczay offense
- 3:27Speaker 1: where that didn't happen. But like I said, he bounced
- 3:30Speaker 1: back over four hundred yards and two touchdowns. So look,
- 3:32Speaker 1: good man, if the confidence is back, it's a great
- 3:35Speaker 1: time for them, not necessarily for us, but yeah, the
- 3:37Speaker 1: numbers don't lie. Numbers don't lie, and they needed that
- 3:39Speaker 1: bounce back. The following week, they lost got embarrassed by
- 3:42Speaker 1: the Baltimore Ravens forty five to six on Monday Night,
- 3:46Speaker 1: which makes it even worse. So then winning this game
- 3:49Speaker 1: against the Cardinals keeps them in the playoff hunt, but
- 3:52Speaker 1: they must keep winning ball games. Was finished with a
- 3:55Speaker 1: game high thirteen catches for one hundred and seventy two yards.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Tyler Higbee caught seven ball for a career high one
- 4:01Speaker 1: hundred and seven yards and a touchdown, while Cooper Cup
- 4:03Speaker 1: had six catches for sixty five yards and another score
- 4:06Speaker 1: of golf completed thirty two or forty three passes, and
- 4:09Speaker 1: Todd Gurley ran for ninety five yards and a touchdown.
- 4:13Speaker 1: It seems like Girly is slowly getting healthy. You think
- 4:16Speaker 1: he was. He wasn't healthy beginning of the season. He's
- 4:18Speaker 1: starting to get his legs back. I mean, I think so.
- 4:20Speaker 1: If you look at the numbers, that was one of
- 4:21Speaker 1: the best games he's had all season, and you know,
- 4:24Speaker 1: it's it's been kind of puzzling with Gurley with how
- 4:28Speaker 1: good he was in seventeen and eighteen, and then at
- 4:31Speaker 1: the playoff run he wasn't playing a lot and kind
- 4:33Speaker 1: of hit her miss so far this year. But that was,
- 4:35Speaker 1: like I said, one of the best games, nearly one
- 4:37Speaker 1: hundred yards. So looks like Girly's back. Looks like they
- 4:39Speaker 1: got their guys performing. LA finished with five hundred and
- 4:42Speaker 1: forty nine total yards, while ARIZONI only had one hundred
- 4:46Speaker 1: and ninety eight yards, and a big chunk of those
- 4:48Speaker 1: yards came in the fourth quarter when the game was
- 4:51Speaker 1: long and decided. That's the thing about stats. Stats can
- 4:53Speaker 1: be can trick you a little bit right. Obviously, the
- 4:57Speaker 1: Rams dominated the Arizona Cardinals. They still put up one
- 5:00Speaker 1: hundred ninety eight, but in that garbage time, guys are
- 5:02Speaker 1: allowed to produce. Rookie Kyler Murray had arguably the worst
- 5:06Speaker 1: game of his professional career. Who was nineteen to thirty four,
- 5:08Speaker 1: one hundred and sixty three yards, and he threw a
- 5:12Speaker 1: pig midway through the fourth quarter. You were kind of
- 5:14Speaker 1: expecting this game sooner or later from Kylin Murray. He's
- 5:17Speaker 1: been efficient for the most part, he's taking care of
- 5:20Speaker 1: the football for the most part. But you knew a
- 5:22Speaker 1: game like this was coming. It was inevitable. Yeah, you know,
- 5:25Speaker 1: he I said a couple weeks ago that I thought,
- 5:27Speaker 1: looking at the Seahawks schedule that the Cardinals were one
- 5:30Speaker 1: of the teams that I was a little worried about,
- 5:31Speaker 1: and it sounded kind of crazy just because of their record,
- 5:34Speaker 1: but they'd played well both times that played the forty
- 5:36Speaker 1: nine ers. They had chances to win that game. And
- 5:38Speaker 1: like you said, he's a rookie, Kylin Murray was bound
- 5:40Speaker 1: to have a game like that. That is what happens
- 5:43Speaker 1: in your rookie season. But I'd be remiss if I
- 5:45Speaker 1: didn't give a shout out to Taylor Rape. D up
- 5:48Speaker 1: Husky went pick six on him. Five sacks already for
- 5:51Speaker 1: this Rams defense, and now they can pin their ears
- 5:53Speaker 1: back at second down in ten, Murray fixed the draw
- 5:56Speaker 1: back to throw pressure in his face. This one is
- 5:59Speaker 1: intercepted at the thirty yard line down the left side
- 6:02Speaker 1: return for a touchdown. The third times a charm for
- 6:06Speaker 1: Taylor Rap for rookie scores in four LA and this
- 6:12Speaker 1: one's out of hand. If Taylor Rap didn't catch that one,
- 6:14Speaker 1: we were gonna have to talk to him on the bus.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I mean, you have the first pick six hits you
- 6:19Speaker 1: right in the belly, you drop it. The second one
- 6:20Speaker 1: you get off a tip. You have an opportunity to
- 6:23Speaker 1: take it to the house, it gets called back for PI.
- 6:25Speaker 1: This one, Kyler Murray just can't see and he's just
- 6:28Speaker 1: trying to throw the ball to where he thinks the
- 6:29Speaker 1: receiver is gonna be doesn't even see. Taylor Rap, great
- 6:32Speaker 1: job catching it with your hands and getting up the field,
- 6:35Speaker 1: out running the ageless wonder Larry Fitzgerald and getting the
- 6:38Speaker 1: end zone. I tell you what, man, this Rams defense,
- 6:40Speaker 1: they're playing well right now. Taylor Rap, he isn't husky
- 6:45Speaker 1: end of the day. He played in the state of Washington,
- 6:48Speaker 1: So I'm gonna support the kid. YEA man gend to
- 6:50Speaker 1: see a local kid make a play. And from what
- 6:52Speaker 1: I hear, he's just a good person. And I always
- 6:54Speaker 1: look for guys who have great personalities, and coaches speak
- 6:57Speaker 1: highly of big us Taylor Rap. Great job, first NFL
- 7:01Speaker 1: pick six. So moving on, we're gonna get to the
- 7:03Speaker 1: key matchups now. But first matchup we have to look
- 7:06Speaker 1: at is Jared golf Verse the Seahawks defense. So far
- 7:10Speaker 1: this year, he has three thousand, four hundred nineteen yards,
- 7:14Speaker 1: twelve touchdowns and eleven picks, which tells me he will
- 7:18Speaker 1: toss some questionable footballs up in air for this defense
- 7:21Speaker 1: to grab. Yeah, Man, eleven picks is a lot, especially
- 7:23Speaker 1: for him in this offense. He's gonna take chances and
- 7:26Speaker 1: the Seahawks defense is definitely gonna have their opportunities. The
- 7:28Speaker 1: secondary has been playing well. We'll getting that in a seck,
- 7:30Speaker 1: but definitely a lot of opportunities. Get the hands on
- 7:33Speaker 1: the ball because you're gonna take chances. They like to
- 7:35Speaker 1: run a lot of deep crossing routes, so they got weapons.
- 7:37Speaker 1: So the Seahawks defense definitely has everything in front of him.
- 7:40Speaker 1: They will have a chance. He has the fourth most
- 7:42Speaker 1: pass yards in the NFL. Last time out against the Seahawks,
- 7:45Speaker 1: he was twenty nine to forty nine, three hundred ninety
- 7:47Speaker 1: five yards, one touchdown, one pick. He threw a lot
- 7:50Speaker 1: of yards, but just under sixty percent passing. He led
- 7:53Speaker 1: the Rams on a potential game when it drive, but
- 7:56Speaker 1: good old Greg zerline missed the field goal and that
- 7:58Speaker 1: what is that the north end zone, that weird end
- 8:02Speaker 1: zone where everybody misses man, especially in primetime situations. But
- 8:06Speaker 1: no golf through the ball all around the yard against
- 8:08Speaker 1: US that first time, three hundred ninety five yards, had
- 8:11Speaker 1: just the one touchdown, the one crazy interception I think
- 8:14Speaker 1: by Teddrid Thompson, and then they got the ball back
- 8:17Speaker 1: and drove all the way down. Obviously it was in
- 8:19Speaker 1: our favor, but I'm looking for the Seahawks to bring
- 8:23Speaker 1: that number down a little bit because Jared Gossip about
- 8:25Speaker 1: to play a much different defense and he played in
- 8:28Speaker 1: week four. Yep, the corners will be more aggressive. We've
- 8:30Speaker 1: got Quandre back there now. McDougall is healthy. I believe
- 8:33Speaker 1: he was a little banged up that week. So it
- 8:35Speaker 1: is a different team for the Seattle Seahawks defense. And
- 8:39Speaker 1: now this Rams offense is getting going, so we'll see
- 8:41Speaker 1: how they counter that. Next matchup rounds receiving corps first,
- 8:45Speaker 1: the Seahawks secondary. These guys are a problem. You start
- 8:49Speaker 1: off with Cooper Cup seventy three catches, ninety five six touchdowns.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Last game against the Hawks, he had nine for one
- 8:55Speaker 1: hundred and seventeam and was killing in the slots with
- 8:58Speaker 1: those deep outs. He I think you said this earlier
- 9:01Speaker 1: when we played them on the pre and postgame show
- 9:03Speaker 1: that Cooper Cup is one of the best receivers in
- 9:05Speaker 1: the NFL. Yeah, he's an absolute technician runner routes. He
- 9:08Speaker 1: did it obviously, people in Northwest know about Cooper Cup
- 9:11Speaker 1: as he balled out against Easter and against every Division
- 9:13Speaker 1: one opponent they played, So Cooper is definitely a problem.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Cooper's nice with it backing him up. We got Robert
- 9:18Speaker 1: Woods with sixty four receptions eight hundred thirty five yards
- 9:21Speaker 1: but no touchdowns. He's killing my fantasy team, and I
- 9:24Speaker 1: hope he keeps scounting because we don't need him to
- 9:26Speaker 1: get going this game. Either. No, I mean last game
- 9:29Speaker 1: against the Hawks, he had five catches for forty eight yards.
- 9:31Speaker 1: It's really puzzling to me a guy with his skill set,
- 9:34Speaker 1: in his talent level who's got the receptions and got
- 9:36Speaker 1: the yards with just for whatever reason, can't get in
- 9:38Speaker 1: the end zone. Also, can't forget Brandon Cooks thirty one
- 9:41Speaker 1: receptions four in to fifty eight yards, one touchdown. Last
- 9:44Speaker 1: time against the Hawks, he had one reception for twenty
- 9:46Speaker 1: nine Please repeat that, mister Cooks falling him up. They
- 9:49Speaker 1: got the tight end Gerald Ever thirty seven receptions four
- 9:52Speaker 1: hundred eight yards, two touchdowns against the Hawks. Last time
- 9:55Speaker 1: he had seven receptions for one thirty six. But the
- 9:58Speaker 1: Hawks have been playing well against tight end since then.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah, No, we I mean, we had Ertz, we
- 10:03Speaker 1: had Rudolph from the We've played against a ton of
- 10:06Speaker 1: really talent tight ends, and the defense is just you
- 10:08Speaker 1: can't say enough about how different this team is now
- 10:11Speaker 1: than it was back in October. Back in October, all
- 10:14Speaker 1: the questions, are we ever gonna find our pass rush?
- 10:17Speaker 1: What's going on in the secondary? We had a lot
- 10:19Speaker 1: of moving parts, whether it was Tedrick, whether it was
- 10:21Speaker 1: Lano McDougald missed a couple of games. But now, as
- 10:24Speaker 1: you mentioned earlier, this defense and secondary looks a lot different.
- 10:27Speaker 1: And you're bringing a Quandre Diggs and they're just bawling
- 10:29Speaker 1: out back there, balling out different kind of defense. There's
- 10:31Speaker 1: a lots of towns of guys on that ram side,
- 10:34Speaker 1: but the production is low in the red zone. I
- 10:35Speaker 1: hope they keep that going. Next matchup, Yeah, Todd Gurley
- 10:38Speaker 1: versus Seahawks front seven. It isn't twenty seventeen, twenty eight team,
- 10:43Speaker 1: but he's still having a solid season. He has one
- 10:45Speaker 1: hundred forty five carries for six to fifty four and
- 10:48Speaker 1: eight touchdowns. You can never sleep on this guy. He's
- 10:51Speaker 1: not producing like he was, but you still see the
- 10:54Speaker 1: ability in them when you watch the film. Well, it's
- 10:56Speaker 1: just a burst and he is a matchup night member
- 10:58Speaker 1: because not only is he gonna hurt you running the
- 10:59Speaker 1: balls when he gets out in routes, when he gets
- 11:02Speaker 1: out in the flat, when he gets matched up with
- 11:04Speaker 1: a linebacker. So whether it's Kendricks, where's kJ Wright, whoever's
- 11:08Speaker 1: come in and kim King, he's doing all that kind
- 11:09Speaker 1: of stuff, it's gonna be a matchup nightmare when he
- 11:11Speaker 1: gets into routes and he kind of gets in that
- 11:13Speaker 1: flat and you got a match up one on one
- 11:14Speaker 1: and he's kind of feeling himself's coming off his best
- 11:17Speaker 1: game against the Cardinals nineteen carries ninety five yards and
- 11:19Speaker 1: one touchdown. Now the Hawks having allowed one hundred yard
- 11:22Speaker 1: rusher since October twentieth against surprise, surprise, the Baltimore Ravens.
- 11:27Speaker 1: This defense is looking good, right yeah, And it wasn't
- 11:29Speaker 1: mark Ingram. It was some Mark Jackson. And everyone in
- 11:32Speaker 1: the entire NFL is having the same exact stat line
- 11:36Speaker 1: when they play the Ravens. If the Seahawks ever had
- 11:38Speaker 1: an opportunity to play them again, I bet that would
- 11:39Speaker 1: show up differently. But the Seahawks defense is playing from
- 11:42Speaker 1: swag they're playing their best ball, so I'd expect nothing
- 11:44Speaker 1: less to repeat that on Sunday. Yes, sir, the next matchup,
- 11:47Speaker 1: we got Chris Carson embrashot pinned a two headed monster
- 11:50Speaker 1: versus Roums Front seven. The Rounds are very middle of
- 11:54Speaker 1: the pack when it comes to stopping the runder thirteenth
- 11:56Speaker 1: that gets run, allowing one hundred and four yards per game.
- 11:59Speaker 1: The Hawks are about one hundred and forty three at
- 12:01Speaker 1: this point. We have to take advantage of that there. No,
- 12:03Speaker 1: I mean when you run for two hundred yards against
- 12:06Speaker 1: the top five defense against the Vikings, you go for
- 12:08Speaker 1: over one hundred yards against the number one defense run
- 12:10Speaker 1: defense against the Buccaneers. They have something and a staff
- 12:14Speaker 1: that I saw earlier today, the Seahawks have rushed for
- 12:19Speaker 1: over one hundred yards and I believe eleven straight games.
- 12:22Speaker 1: It's somewhere in that march, and it is the third
- 12:24Speaker 1: longest streak in the franchise's history. And they have a
- 12:29Speaker 1: chance to I think they have a chance to move
- 12:30Speaker 1: in the second place if they go for a hundred
- 12:32Speaker 1: again on Sunday. So this two headed monster, like we've
- 12:35Speaker 1: talked about previously, is finally kind of showing up with
- 12:38Speaker 1: what they wanted to see a little one two punch
- 12:40Speaker 1: between them. When they're both getting carries and they're both active,
- 12:43Speaker 1: they're hard to stop they are, and that one two
- 12:44Speaker 1: punch rus for two hundred and three yards last week
- 12:47Speaker 1: and two touchdowns. Beautiful to see. Now we're gonna talk
- 12:50Speaker 1: about this NFC playoff, Pitcher, Guess who's in second place
- 12:53Speaker 1: in the NFCO Seattle Seahawks ten and two. Above them,
- 12:58Speaker 1: you have the Saints. Below the Seahawks, you got the
- 13:01Speaker 1: Packers and the Cowboys in the wild card. The team
- 13:04Speaker 1: that the Hawks just beat on Monday night are the
- 13:06Speaker 1: Vikings at eight and four, and those Niners down there
- 13:09Speaker 1: in Callie at ten and two. With that win last week,
- 13:12Speaker 1: the Rams are still in the hunt. Somehow mitches Drubisky
- 13:15Speaker 1: and then the Bears have sitting there a bit, and
- 13:18Speaker 1: somehow Jameens Winston and the Bucks are kind in the pitch.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I wouldn't count on them, but they're in the mix.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Lits not over till it's over. We know that. That's
- 13:24Speaker 1: why you play the games. But in terms of the NFC,
- 13:26Speaker 1: this one's lockdown. So the Saints have clinched the NFC
- 13:29Speaker 1: South that's a done deal at this point. They are
- 13:32Speaker 1: playing to be the number one seed. That is what
- 13:34Speaker 1: they are fighting for up for grabs this weekend San Francisco,
- 13:37Speaker 1: for Niners are at the Saints. Definitely going to be
- 13:40Speaker 1: a huge game for everyone in Seattle paying attention to that.
- 13:43Speaker 1: San Francisco can clinch a playoff for this weekend if
- 13:46Speaker 1: they win or the Rams lose or tie, and then
- 13:50Speaker 1: if San Francisco ties in the Rams loss. Okay, now,
- 13:53Speaker 1: the Seahawks are also made their first appearance in a
- 13:56Speaker 1: playoff clinching scenarios this week. The Seahawks, as you know,
- 13:59Speaker 1: are taking on the Ram and they clinch your playoff
- 14:01Speaker 1: berth just with a win. Obviously, the Seahawks have much
- 14:04Speaker 1: higher goals and ambitions to get the playoffs, but whatever
- 14:07Speaker 1: it is, that would still be a huge deal for them.
- 14:10Speaker 1: That's what's the stake right now. We talked about it
- 14:12Speaker 1: the other day, Niners, New Orleans, Who you got? Who
- 14:16Speaker 1: you want? Again? Because we are not in the locker
- 14:20Speaker 1: room and I don't plan on Sundays, we can talk
- 14:21Speaker 1: about this. The greedy person to me says, I want
- 14:25Speaker 1: the Niners to win because I would love a number
- 14:28Speaker 1: one seed. The Seahawks have been in the Super Bowl
- 14:29Speaker 1: three times. Every time they've done that, they've had home
- 14:31Speaker 1: field advantage. Now, then the Saints beat US early in
- 14:34Speaker 1: the year, they have the tiebreaker currently, I would love
- 14:36Speaker 1: to get an edge up on them, But the conservative
- 14:38Speaker 1: side of me says, well, no, win the division. That
- 14:41Speaker 1: the pete's always goal is to win the NFC West.
- 14:44Speaker 1: They lose again, that just gives you even more. It
- 14:47Speaker 1: gives you more room for error down the stretch. So
- 14:50Speaker 1: like I'm I'm gonna lean on the competitive side of me.
- 14:54Speaker 1: So I guess, I guess I want the Saints to
- 14:56Speaker 1: lose this week. I want the number one seed. I'm
- 14:58Speaker 1: with you, I want the Saints to lose the this week.
- 15:00Speaker 1: But the great thing about this situation is no matter
- 15:03Speaker 1: what happens, is beneficial. Oh yeah, you're exactly. No matter
- 15:07Speaker 1: why you look at it, you can spend it good
- 15:08Speaker 1: for the Seahawks. As long as the Seahawks keep winning,
- 15:10Speaker 1: which all that's all they're concerned about. It doesn't matter. Yep,
- 15:13Speaker 1: Just win, baby, just win, all right? The path to victory,
- 15:17Speaker 1: the Hoss got to set the tone early. The Rams
- 15:19Speaker 1: are fighting for their playoff lives. Do not give them confidence.
- 15:22Speaker 1: And this is the type of offense that once they
- 15:24Speaker 1: get rolling, once they have some success, they get in
- 15:27Speaker 1: the rhythm and they become extremely dangerous. Oh they're scary.
- 15:30Speaker 1: They are scary. I mean, I don't care what happened
- 15:32Speaker 1: to them against the Ravens or what's happened to them
- 15:34Speaker 1: at any point this season. When they are rolling with
- 15:36Speaker 1: the weapons they have on paper, they are a matchup
- 15:38Speaker 1: nightmare for any defense in the NFL. Like you said,
- 15:41Speaker 1: you do not want to get golf in rhythm early.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I think if you bring pressure and you get to
- 15:45Speaker 1: them early, that'll go a long way for you. You You
- 15:47Speaker 1: don't want them rolling early on. Yeah, golf does not
- 15:49Speaker 1: handle pressure well. Also, you got to stop the big plays,
- 15:51Speaker 1: all right, keep everything in front. Now, I'm interested with
- 15:56Speaker 1: those weapons, with the cup, with Cooks, with Everett. Are
- 16:00Speaker 1: they gonna play that press defense that we've been seeing.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Are they gonna bail? I think we're gonna see both,
- 16:05Speaker 1: But I want to see which one's gonna be more
- 16:07Speaker 1: dominant at this point of the season. My confidence and
- 16:10Speaker 1: Trey Flowers is high. My confidence in sha Kill Griffin
- 16:13Speaker 1: is high. With Quandre, with McDougall, so I would like
- 16:16Speaker 1: to see them play aggressive, but it's always nice to
- 16:19Speaker 1: mix things up, things up and keep McVay on his toes,
- 16:22Speaker 1: oh for sure. And I think what they've done, what
- 16:24Speaker 1: Ken Norton Junior has done a fantastic job, Pete Carroll,
- 16:26Speaker 1: all the whole coaching staff, and how you've seen our active.
- 16:28Speaker 1: They've been mixing up different looks if you got a
- 16:30Speaker 1: big matchup. Kim King has kind of played really well
- 16:33Speaker 1: in the slot. You know, there's a lot of options there.
- 16:35Speaker 1: So I think they're gonna keep on their toes. But yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 1: i'd look to see them and continue be aggressive. And
- 16:39Speaker 1: yet my man number three seven, Quandre Digs. Get to
- 16:42Speaker 1: know the name. If you don't know, you'll figure it
- 16:43Speaker 1: out soon. He's coming down the smack. He he's smacking you.
- 16:46Speaker 1: They must create turnovers. Stay active in the secondary now
- 16:50Speaker 1: excuse me. Trey Flowers has had to pick a pick
- 16:53Speaker 1: in multiple weeks. McDougall recovered a fumble last week. Shaquille
- 16:56Speaker 1: has just been solid as ever. So keep that secondary going.
- 17:00Speaker 1: It's gonna I think it's gonna come down to this secondary.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Girl's a threat. Obviously got to be good against the run.
- 17:05Speaker 1: The Hawks have been solid against the run all year,
- 17:07Speaker 1: but now this is the week. I guess we say
- 17:10Speaker 1: it every week that these corners this secondary really make
- 17:12Speaker 1: their money. Well, I mean, and she killed Griffin. I
- 17:14Speaker 1: think he got a couple of pass breakups. I don't
- 17:16Speaker 1: know if he's second or first now in pass defenses
- 17:19Speaker 1: this year. So he's playing with all kinds of confidence. McDougald,
- 17:22Speaker 1: like you mentioned, he had to pick against the Eagles,
- 17:24Speaker 1: he recovered a fumble. They're just active. So let's just
- 17:27Speaker 1: keep it rolling and let's take care of the full ball.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Two weeks in a row, mister number three is thrown
- 17:31Speaker 1: a pick and mister Metcalf has put the ball on
- 17:34Speaker 1: the ground. Carson has got rid of his fumble walls.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Let's just take care of the football. It's all about
- 17:38Speaker 1: the ball if you can keep possession. Last week the
- 17:41Speaker 1: Seahawks had about thirty nine minutes of possessions of the
- 17:44Speaker 1: Vikings twenty. Let's keep possession of the football, keep the
- 17:47Speaker 1: good times rolling, Yes, sir man, it's all about taking
- 17:50Speaker 1: care of the ball. And there they're better than that.
- 17:52Speaker 1: We know this team prides himself on it and they're
- 17:55Speaker 1: just waiting for that to show. Once you take that away,
- 17:57Speaker 1: these guys are gonna be unstoppable. They're gonna be on stoppable.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Continue being Road Wars. Let's go seven and oh on
- 18:03Speaker 1: the road. I don't know if it's been done, but hey,
- 18:05Speaker 1: we'll find out it hasn't been done in this franchise history.
- 18:07Speaker 1: If they go to seven and will be the first,
- 18:09Speaker 1: it'll be the most wins ever in the franchise history.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Road Wins. Well, season, let's get it done. Let's keep
- 18:14Speaker 1: making history. You know how the Hawks do. It's been real.
- 18:16Speaker 1: This is Michael Bumps along with NASA Choby Hawk Talk
- 18:19Speaker 1: Preview Week fourteen. The Hawks are going to Cali to
- 18:22Speaker 1: take on the Rams. Let's come back seven and on
- 18:24Speaker 1: the road has been Roads is Michael Bumps. See you
- 18:26Speaker 1: next time.
