A registered nurse in Iowa, Penny Lynn Daniels, has been suspended for three months after an inmate died hours after receiving her care — a case now under disciplinary review and a civil lawsuit. Despite being alerted to worsening symptoms like fever and vomiting, Daniels allegedly dismissed the inmate’s condition as a virus and ordered only electrolytes.
