  - I am your host. And

• 1:15
  - say welcome.
• 1:17
  - We are starting a new series in July
• 1:21
  - entitled walking in spiritual discernment,
• 1:25
  - and I want to start the conversation
• 1:28
  - by addressing what happens
• 1:30
  - when too many voices are competing for our
• 1:33
  - attention.
• 1:35
  - You know, we live in a world filled
• 1:36
  - with
• 1:38
  - opinions.
• 1:39
  - Good ones, bad ones,
• 1:41
  - it it doesn't matter.
• 1:43
  - Everyone has one. Right?
• 1:45
  - Between social media influencers telling us what success
• 1:48
  - looks like, to news outlets telling us what
• 1:51
  - to fear,
• 1:53
  - or whether it's friends telling us what we
• 1:55
  - should do
• 1:57
  - with the best intentions.
• 1:59
  - And the worst can be even our own
• 2:01
  - thoughts constantly competing for our attention.
• 2:05
  - With all of that going on,
• 2:08
  - sometimes it's difficult to know which voice to
• 2:11
  - trust.
• 2:12
  - And God's voice can seem
• 2:14
  - lost in the noise.
• 2:17
  - But the scripture tells us in John ten
• 2:20
  - twenty seven that my sheep
• 2:22
  - listen to my voice.
• 2:24
  - I know them, and they follow me.
• 2:28
  - Now
• 2:29
  - one of the things I want to address
• 2:31
  - here is that
• 2:34
  - the way that we
• 2:35
  - follow
• 2:37
  - the divine one's voice
• 2:40
  - is not just through prayer, but his word
• 2:44
  - This sometimes arduous act
• 2:46
  - can be
• 2:48
  - the difference between
• 2:49
  - making a good decision
• 2:51
  - and one that's detrimental.
• 2:54
  - Taking
• 2:55
  - the time to be intentional,
• 2:57
  - to read and apply what God's word says
• 3:01
  - is the total game changer
• 3:04
  - because it
• 3:05
  - works against
• 3:07
  - when we're feeling fear, when we're feeling doubt.
• 3:11
  - And it's the things that provides the peace
• 3:14
  - that surpasses
• 3:15
  - all understanding, if you will.
• 3:18
  - It's it's the peace that doesn't make any
• 3:20
  - sense in the midst of everything you're going
• 3:22
  - through.
• 3:24
  - So
• 3:25
  - that being said,
• 3:27
  - let's pray.
• 3:30
  - Heavenly Father,
• 3:31
  - there are so many voices competing for our
• 3:35
  - attention every day.
• 3:38
  - Opinions,
• 3:39
  - expectations,
• 3:40
  - fears, and distractions
• 3:42
  - all demand space in our minds.
• 3:45
  - Help us quiet the noise and recognize your
• 3:47
  - voice above every other voice.
• 3:50
  - Teach us to value your wisdom
• 3:52
  - more than popular opinion and your truth more
• 3:55
  - than temporary trends.
• 3:58
  - Draw us close to you
• 4:00
  - so much so that we become familiar with
• 4:03
  - the sound of your leading.
• 4:05
  - And we will bless you in Jesus' name.
• 4:09
  - Well,
• 4:09
  - if this was an encouragement to you,
• 4:12
  - follow us on divine five one five for
• 4:15
  - daily prayers that strengthen spiritual discernment.
