- 0:00Revelation chapter one, let us pray.
- 0:06We thank you, Lord, for today. We thank you, God, for all the
- 0:09many blessings that you've already poured out on us.
- 0:12Lord, we thank you for your scripture.
- 0:15Lord, we're asking that you'll show up and show off Show out.
- 0:20You're so amazing. God, we love you.
- 0:23We love everything about you. And it's in your son's holy and
- 0:27precious name that I pray. Amen.
- 0:30Let's start in verse 1, the revelation of Jesus Christ,
- 0:35which God gave unto him to show unto His servants things which
- 0:39must shortly come to pass. And he sent and signified it by
- 0:43his Angel unto his servant John. So the revelation is just the
- 0:48revealing friends, and the whole Book of Revelation points to
- 0:51Jesus Christ, and He tells us here that they must shortly come
- 0:55to pass. And you can see that God gave it
- 0:58to Jesus, and Jesus gave it to the Angel.
- 1:00And the Angel came to John while he was on the island of Patmos.
- 1:04And this is the apostle John who got to walk with Jesus Christ in
- 1:08his earthly ministry for three years, the beloved 2 who bore
- 1:14record of the word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ
- 1:18and of all the things that he saw.
- 1:19So aren't we eternally blessed and grateful that John was there
- 1:25on the island of Patmos and actually had the time to sit and
- 1:28to pin down the revelation that Jesus Christ gave to him.
- 1:32Verse 3 Blessed is he that reads they that hear the words of this
- 1:36prophecy and keep those things which are written in it for the
- 1:40time is at hand. So he's already told us it was
- 1:42shortly going to come. Then he tells us here that the
- 1:45time is at hand, and if it was at hand and short back then and
- 1:49how much more is it today? And he says that we're going to
- 1:51be blessed friends for reading this and for hearing this.
- 1:55What an amazing promise from God.
- 1:58And we need to keep the things that are in it.
- 2:01We don't need to just read this from an allegorical point of
- 2:05view or some kind of symbolism. We need to actually read it and
- 2:09then apply it to our lives. First for John to the seven
- 2:14churches which are in Asia, grace be unto you, and peace
- 2:18from him which is and which was and which is to come, and from
- 2:22the seven spirits which are before his throne.
- 2:25So here the seven churches. This is the complete church.
- 2:28This is church history from Peter whenever he said, I will
- 2:32build my church all the way from the primitive church all the way
- 2:38to the modern Church of today, friends, and for all time's
- 2:41sake. This is the complete church
- 2:43which is the seven that is referenced.
- 2:45And then you see here these seven spirits of God before the
- 2:49throne. This is a reference to Isaiah
- 2:53Chapter 11 verse 2 where he talks about all the different
- 2:58attributes of God. 5:00 And from Jesus Christ, who is the
- 3:05faithful witness, the first begotten of the dead, and the
- 3:08Prince of the kings of the earth, unto him that loved us
- 3:11and washed us from our sins in his own blood.
- 3:15So you can see here that Jesus is the faithful witness.
- 3:20He was faithful unto his Father to come and to put on humanity,
- 3:29and to shed His innocent blood for the remission of all of the
- 3:33sins of the earth, friends. And if anybody will come to
- 3:36Jesus and believe that He is the Son of God and that God raised
- 3:40him from the dead, they will be saved and they'll be washed in
- 3:43His blood. And whenever they stand before
- 3:46God one day, God will not see their sins.
- 3:49They will only see the blood of Jesus Christ covering them, and
- 3:54He is the Prince of the kings of the earth.
- 3:56He is supreme. There is no one higher.
- 3:59He is the name that is above all names, and He's the first
- 4:03begotten of the dead. So you need to understand that
- 4:06Jesus Christ took humanity into heaven, into God's presence.
- 4:11Friends, you need to understand that He is the first begotten in
- 4:14the sense that He is God that put on mankind.
- 4:17He's fully man and fully God 6 and has made us kings and
- 4:23priests unto God and his Father. To Him be glory and dominion
- 4:27forever and ever. So we are a royal priesthood,
- 4:30and Jesus Christ himself said that the least in the Kingdom of
- 4:36heaven is greater than John the Baptist and all the prophets of
- 4:40old, all those born of woman. So we are actually the royal
- 4:45priesthood. What an amazing thought that we
- 4:47will rule and reign with him for 1000 years. 7 Behold, he comes
- 4:51with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also which
- 4:55pierced him, and all the kindreds of the earth shall wail
- 4:58because of him, Even so. Amen.
- 5:00So this is the second coming of Christ, friends.
- 5:03The whole earth will see him as he returns.
- 5:06It will not be some secret friends.
- 5:09They will see just as lightning strikes and everyone can see it.
- 5:14That is how it will be with the coming, the second coming of the
- 5:17Son of Man, and we say yes and Amen to it.
- 5:20Eight. I am the Alpha, the Omega, the
- 5:23beginning and the ending, says the Lord, which is and which was
- 5:27and which is to come, the Almighty.
- 5:29He's the Ancient of Days, friends, He is omnipotent, He is
- 5:33our everything. He's the creator of everything
- 5:35seen and unseen friends. He's the beginning and the end
- 5:39and He lives outside of time. 9 by John, who also am your
- 5:44brother and companion and tribulation and in the Kingdom
- 5:48and patience of Jesus Christ was in the Isle that is called
- 5:53Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus
- 5:58Christ. What the enemy meant for evil,
- 6:00God used for good. And as John was sentenced to
- 6:04hard labor on the island of Patmos in the quarry, he had the
- 6:08time and he had the vision, and he sat and he pinned down these
- 6:12eternal inspired words that we are blessed by ten.
- 6:16I was in the Spirit on the Lords day, and I heard behind me a
- 6:19great voices of a trumpet. So here he's meditating upon
- 6:23God's Word, and then Jesus Christ shows up 11 saying I am
- 6:29Alpha and Omega, the first, the last.
- 6:32And what you see, write in a book and send it to the seven
- 6:35churches which are in Asia under Ephesus and Smyrna and Pergamus
- 6:39and Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.
- 6:43So you need to understand that Paul the Apostle wrote to seven
- 6:46churches, and here John is told to write to seven churches and
- 6:50the seven is the complete number.
- 6:53Friends, it's all of church history wrapped up in that #712
- 7:00And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me and being
- 7:03turned, I saw 7 golden candlesticks.
- 7:06So these are the lamp stands that the light sits upon.
- 7:10The lamp stands themselves don't actually house the light, they
- 7:14just hold it to friends. 13 And in the midst of the seven
- 7:18candlesticks, one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with the
- 7:22garment down to his foot, and girt about the paps with the
- 7:25golden girdle. So here you can see Jesus Christ
- 7:29clothed in the royal priest, the high priest garments that goes
- 7:36all the way down to his feet, and you can see this sash that
- 7:41is made of gold about his breast.
- 7:45What an amazing thought. 14 His head and his hairs were white,
- 7:52like wool, as white as snow. In his eyes were his flame of
- 7:55fire. So here you can see the Ancient
- 7:58of Days. This is what Jesus looks like.
- 8:00Can you see him, friends? He has the long robe down to his
- 8:04feet, the golden sash around his chest, his hair.
- 8:08It signifies the wisdom of God. It signifies the radiance that
- 8:15John got to see on the Mount of Transfiguration.
- 8:19It was white like wool, bleached out.
- 8:22And then his eyes like fire. These piercing eyes of judgment,
- 8:28friends. 15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if burned in
- 8:34a furnace. And his voice, the sound of many
- 8:37waters, so his feet were hardened as if through the
- 8:43refiners fire. He'd already went through
- 8:46everything that God wanted him to for the remission of sins for
- 8:51all of humanity, friends. And then you can see that his
- 8:55voice is like the sound of the many rushing waters.
- 8:58He opens His voice and things are created.
- 9:02He is the creator of everything seen and unseen. 16 And he had
- 9:08in his right hand seven stars, and that of his mouth went a
- 9:11sharp 2 edged sword, And his countenance was as the sun
- 9:15shines in his strength. So you can see here that He had
- 9:18the churches in his hands, the leaders of the churches in his
- 9:21hands, friends. And then you can see that he's
- 9:25shining like the sun. You cannot even look upon the
- 9:28sun. And then you see this two edged
- 9:30sword coming out of his mouth. And that is how he will
- 9:34annihilate his foes and put them under his feet as a footstool.
- 9:3817 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead, and he laid
- 9:42his right hand upon me, saying to me, fear not, I am the 1st
- 9:46and the last. So you can see that he lives
- 9:49outside of time. He's the alpha, he's the Omega.
- 9:52He tells John, don't be a afraid it is.
- 9:55I Can you imagine John the disciple?
- 9:58He's walking with Jesus for three years, getting to know
- 10:01him. He sees him up on the cross,
- 10:04being nailed to it like a criminal and breathing out his
- 10:08last. And then he sees him in his
- 10:11resurrected body as he appears to many before he ascends to the
- 10:15right hand of God. And now John is on the island of
- 10:18Patmos and he sees Jesus as he truly is.
- 10:24He is, I am. He is everything.
- 10:28He is the only uncreated. This is what Jesus looks like.
- 10:3718 I am he that lives and was dead, and behold, I am alive
- 10:41forevermore. Amen.
- 10:42And I have the keys of hell and of death.
- 10:44That's what Jesus did on silent Saturdays.
- 10:47He went down and he preached to the spirits, and he snatched the
- 10:51keys, and he holds them in his hand.
- 10:55And he was alive. And then they murdered him, and
- 10:58then he was resurrected. And he, he is humanity entering
- 11:03into heaven. He is the first.
- 11:05He is all God and all man. 19 Write the things which you have
- 11:10seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be
- 11:14hereafter. This is the breakdown of the
- 11:16whole entire Book of Revelation, friends.
- 11:19John was told to write the things down that he had seen,
- 11:23the things that were happening and the things that which will
- 11:27happen. And we'll end on 20 the mystery
- 11:30of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven
- 11:34golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels
- 11:37of the seven churches, and the seven candlesticks which you saw
- 11:41are the seven churches. So Jesus Christ interprets the
- 11:44vision for John because he knows that we are slow to understand.
- 11:52The candlesticks are just the churches, and then the stars are
- 11:57the leaders of those churches, the pastors of those churches.
- 12:01They are the messengers. And what an amazing book.
- 12:06What an amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 12:10And we will be blessed by listening to this and by reading
- 12:13this and by teaching this. What an amazing thought.
- 12:17Revelation is not some mystery for us just to put on a shelf
- 12:21that's not meant to be understood.
- 12:23It is the revealing. Friends, it's easy.
- 12:26We read it literally, we believe it earnestly, and we approach it
- 12:33honestly. This should be an exciting time.
- 12:40This is not a confusing time. This is.
- 12:43God is not the author of confusion, friends.
- 12:45He gave it to us for us to read it.
- 12:48And you don't have to pretend as if you understand it all,
- 12:51friends, we just read it and believe it and that settles it.
- 12:57I hope you've been blessed by it.
- 12:58I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 13:01of you. I love you.
- 13:03We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 13:04God bless you.
