- 0:15SPEAKER_02: Hey, what's going on, big ballers?
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: Welcome into another episode of Fantasy Football Sports Minds.
- 0:20SPEAKER_02: It's your boy MJG coming at you with your boy Joe the Birdman.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: Joe, how you doing today?
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Doing pretty well.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: It's been an interesting uh fantasy football week for me.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: A lot of changes had to be made, and I really don't know what to expect, but it's all good.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: It's all fun.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: How about you?
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: How's everything going?
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: It's been good, man.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: Just a lot of adjustments.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: There's been a lot of injuries.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: I know if a lot of people are dealing with IR.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's been fantasy limbo.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: Uh, just to start off with this week's updates and injuries, I mean, the most important one is Justin Jefferson.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: He is on IR.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: A lot of people are making pickups.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: I know people are obviously scrambling right now.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: Um, what are some of the pickups that you're making in place of Justin Jefferson, Joe?
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Well, um, just wanted to share really quickly.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: I have one league where I have Justin Jefferson, James Connor, and Von A-Chain.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: So I only have two IR spots, but just, you know, puts me in a horrible place this week.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: So I am scrambling, trying to make some moves, but these are some players in this league.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: So there aren't it's slim pickings on the wire.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: So I've got uh, you know, um I picked up KJ Osborne in one league that I had Justin Jefferson.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: I was able to get him.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Uh there's a chance Josh Palmer might be out there.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: I actually had someone drop him in one league um last minute because they had to pick someone up to play over Aaron Jones.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: So they didn't know what to do.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Palmer was on a bye, they dropped him because uh they you know had to pick up someone from the Raiders or Green Bay.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Um so I got Josh Palmer in one league, KJ Osborne.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Curtis Samuels had two good games in a row, so he's not a bad option if you know if he's available, which he probably is, or you could at least uh trade real low to get him.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Um and then one guy that's probably available is Rasheed Rice.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Um he's been getting eight to twelve points every week and uh looked really good last week.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Still available in 25% of ESPN leagues.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Um, those are the guys at wide receiver that that I would say you could look to, and then a long shot, maybe Rondell Moore.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: He's gonna get more um carries.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's a wide receiver, but he's involved in the run game a just a little bit.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: And since James Connor is out, uh Amari DeMarcado, Amari De Mercado is gonna be the running back because Keonta Ingram is still you know down with that neck injury, probably pretty serious if it's a neck injury.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: So Rondell Moore, he's he's been super efficient with the limited opportunities he's had.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Um week one, he had two carries for 12 yards, nothing special.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: But I mean it's still you know, on two carries, 12 yards, not bad at all.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: But then week three, he had three carries for 54 yards and a touchdown.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: And last week he had three carries for 50 yards.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: So there's a chance, it's a long shot.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: There's a chance Rondell Moore might have a big week.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: So that those are the wide receivers I would say, you know, there's a good chance you can grab one of them if uh if you don't have someone on your bench to plug in place of Justin Jefferson.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: Definitely agree with that.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: A lot of good names in there.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: Um, a guy that was actually getting a lot of looks near the end of that Vikings game, Brandon Powell, number four.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: I actually got him confused with Jordan Addison near that game.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: I thought Jordan Addison was getting all those looks, and I was super happy.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: I was like, yeah, racking up some points because I had him in my team, and no, it was actually Brandon Powell.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: He looked really good.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: So he's somebody that could actually get surprisingly uh, you know, some good looks in that offense while um I see Justin Jefferson's out.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: Who knows how long he's gonna be out for?
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, uh someone that uh actually got a really high snap count last week, Michael Wilson, wide receiver for the Cardinals.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: He had obviously the blow-up game two weeks ago.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: He had two touchdowns, obviously, but he had uh 75% of the snap count, and he only had two targets last week, which was obviously his lowest targets in the in since week one.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: But he's uh he was a rookie second round pick.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: So I think that you know, and then obviously that was also Joshua Dobbs or Josh Dobbs' worst uh game of the season so far since he started.
- 4:55SPEAKER_02: So I think there's definitely some guys there that you could take a flyer on.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: These are your wild card picks, guys you could just stash on the bench, not really guys you're gonna plug and play.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: But at this point, I mean, people are desperate.
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: You know, you're you're gonna pick these guys up, you're gonna probably make some moves.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: I know I've made some moves.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: I traded sometimes you got to take your superstar and break them down to two starters, and that's just how you survive in fantasy football.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: Who knows?
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: Maybe those two starters can actually outproduce that superstar because fantasy is like the stock market.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: You have your ups and your downs, and you got to make moves.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: And just to kind of notate all the guys that are out.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: You did mention obviously Justin Jefferson, James Conner, Devin and Chain, uh, three fantasy studs.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: Uh, I know in the offseason we did talk about the possibility of James Conner being out, so that's something that people didn't you know expect, right?
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, um, even during our plane year profiles, we did talk about that.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: Uh, but also Anthony Richardson, he is on IR.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: So Anthony Richardson's gonna be out for some time.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: Um, we which I just found out, by the way.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: I did not know that until you told me.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: We were talking right before the show.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: I did not realize he was out.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's on IR, so they're just taking it smart with him.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: Obviously, Gardner Minshew has been solid.
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: He played in Shane Steigen's offense in Philly, so you know that offense well.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: So it's gonna be more of a traditional passing attack now, West Coast.
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: So um that might actually be an improvement for Michael Pittman, um, and uh uh, you know, my Michael Pittman owners.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: Um, but a couple players coming back from injury.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: Jeff Wilson should be coming back from IR this week.
- 6:25SPEAKER_02: So that could be a little boost for some people, some owners, fantasy owners.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: And Deontay Johnson, obviously, Pittsburgh's on a bye week this week, but Deontay Johnson should be coming back next week, uh week seven.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: So that's just um some relief for fantasy owners.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: Obviously, those of you that need more immediate relief, like I said, make a trade.
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: You gotta do what you gotta do.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: I know um me and this guy here try, you know, people are gonna say this is a ridiculous trade, uh, but he was desperate, he's one and four in one of the leagues.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: He tried to make a trade, Justin Jefferson, for James Cook, and people saw that as a huge, you know, fancy taboo move because obviously he needed to win now.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: He made the move, and obviously my team's a little bit loaded, so your team's great up and they didn't want you to have McCaffrey and Justin Jefferson.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: I understand that, but it was a fair trade, and it's like you know, I either accept defeat or I do whatever I gotta do.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: And I was trying to make a move, gotta keep fighting.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: I'm just not gonna lay down and die.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: They didn't let it happen.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: Well, I don't know about I don't know about fair, but you know, uh, it was a lot of risk involved, right?
- 7:33SPEAKER_02: I could lose a player, you know, for nothing, right?
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: Give up a player for nothing, you have something to gain.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: But obviously, the league was worried that if I get Justin Jefferson healthy, then obviously I'm unstoppable, right?
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: And I and I get that.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: But that's okay.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: I'll I'll make another trade here.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: Uh there they haven't seen the last of me yet.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: So um under the circumstances, I do not think it was unfair.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: So that's all right.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Let's uh move on to the next segment here.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: It's getting hot in here, isn't it, Manny?
- 8:09unknown: Damn.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Swego in here, bro.
- 8:12unknown: Damn.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Who your my who's your uh first hot matchup of the week?
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: Uh my first hot matchup of the week is gonna be the Colts versus the Jaguars.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: Uh Jaguars.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: I think it's gonna be a great matchup.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: Both teams have been um kind of finding their identity on offense lately.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: I know Colts just lost.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: We talked about Anthony Richardson going on IR, but I told you Colt, uh Gardner Minshew played on that offense before.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: Shane Steichen, they're well aware of it.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: And they looked really great last year, or excuse me, last week.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: So um Zach Moss has been really going off.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: He had almost 200 all-purpose yards last week.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Obviously, Michael Pittman's a stud.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: So you're gonna expect the Colts to really play off other success last week.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: And of course, um Jaguars, uh, Trevor Lawrence hasn't had his coming out game yet.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: Travis Etienne did last week.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: He had two touchdowns over 100 rushing yards, so he's gonna repeat off of that.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: And of course, Christian Kirk has already been balling.
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: Kevin Ridley finally had a good game last week, too.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: You know, so you're gonna you're gonna see some high scoring.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: Jags do have a little bit better defense than they have been uh much of the year, so they might step up.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: Colts also have a solid D.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: Uh, it is a divisional game, so divisional games can seem to be a little bit tougher than the others, or they could be high scoring.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: Um, so I don't think it's the AFC North we're talking about here, right?
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: This is AFC South.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: So I I think it could definitely turn out to be something pretty pretty high scoring.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: I hope, anyways.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: What do you think?
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm not exactly sure about that game.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: Um, like you said, the defenses on both sides have been pretty good, but the offense has been too, and I know they're without Richardson, but um it's not like they've just got a rookie stepping in to fill his shoes.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: And you know, Josh Downs has looked good too.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Surprisingly, he's getting a lot of targets, and then uh Pittman, and um, you know, you got two good weapons and a quarterback that knows how to throw the ball.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: And I do think Trevor Lawrence is is you know getting frustrated, but should bounce back and have a solid week and despite his poor playing, Christian Kirk's been solid as a rock.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Ridley reminded everyone how good he can look out there on the field.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: So uh ATN has been awesome.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: I think there's enough weapons that it's gonna nullify the defense to a degree.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Now, let me tell you about my first hot matchup of the week.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: I have the Cowboys versus the Chargers.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: And I know the Cowboys defense has been rock solid, but the Chargers are gonna get Eckler back.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Justin Herbert's fine, he'll play.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Um they've both been great, obviously.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: And uh even though you got Mike Williams out, you've got um Keenan Allen and Josh Palmer.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: I think there's again enough weapons on the offense for the Chargers that the defense, as great as they've looked all around, will not be as much of a factor.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: And I think the Cowboys have to have a bounce back week.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: You know, CeeDee Lamb and Pollard should bounce back.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: Dak Prescott, he's always been a little shaky, but I think it's gonna be a back and forth game.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: I think it's gonna be high scoring, and I think it's gonna be close.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: So that'll be a fun game to watch.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, definitely.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: You're right.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Eckler coming back.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: Uh, they're gonna feed The Rock because um Chargers have been uh, you know, they they were moving the ball pretty well with Keenan Allen.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: So they're gonna repeat off that success.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: Obviously, get Eckler involved a little bit because outside of those two guys, I mean, they really, I mean, they lost Mike Williams.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: They might feed Joshua Palmer a little bit, but I mean, nobody outside of that offense really is consistent.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: You know, they're gonna spread it around, maybe Donald Parham or Gerald, Gerald Everett.
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: It's really gonna be toss up whoever's open at that point.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: Um, and on the Cowboys side, they need to, you know, get some momentum to show them who them boys are, right?
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: They want people to believe in them, they need that hype.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: You know, defense is great, but I mean that offense needs to get rolling for them to actually believe if that they have a shot, you know, if they want to compete in the league, especially after being embarrassed last week.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: So they definitely need to do something if they want to uh actually prove that they have a shot to win something this week this year.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's a big game for both, for sure.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Uh, so who's your second hot matchup you got this week?
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: Um, my second hot matchup, so I do have the Bengals versus the Seahawks.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: So I think that's definitely gonna be a high scoring.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: I almost picked that one team.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and then after the week, uh Bengals had last week.
- 12:55SPEAKER_02: Joe Burrows finally looks like that calf isn't bugging him as much.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: I'm sure he still has some lingering issues, but three touchdowns to Jamar Chase, man.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: That was an incredible week last week.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: T.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: Higgins still gonna be out, so I don't think you're gonna have that kind of week last week, but maybe some more Joe Mixon action.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Um, you might see a little bit more to him there.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Because uh, I mean, Seahawks have really been improving upon the passing attack, and they did have a bye week last week.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: Uh, the week before that, they destroyed the the Giants on Monday Night Football, I think.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: So you've seen a lot of those highlights, so maybe they're gonna build off that momentum.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: But um, I think uh that that's why the stats look a little bit lopsided right now to show the Seahawks a little bit better defensively.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: But uh I think uh both teams are really gonna go at each other's throats, they're gonna really hit each other hard, and you know you're gonna see some points being put on the board because both teams have elite run games, they both have elite uh wide receivers and uh pretty good quarterbacks.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: So you're gonna see some some points being thrown on the board.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, definitely.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: And I'm I'm just checking right now.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Is Geno Smith healthy?
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: Um I think he was questionable, but or like limited in practice, but he wasn't um uh he should be playing because then he missed a back half of that game when he the last game.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: Like he missed like the third quarter and then he finished a game or something like that.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: Because Drew Locke only came in for like a quarter or something like that.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: And uh Geno finished the game.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm sorry, you're right.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: He I just checked, it said um he's fine.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: So that that's good.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: I wasn't sure about that.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: You know, you see those Q tags throw up, uh go up, and um sometimes it's nothing, it's just a rest day.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: Other times you're like, damn, I wish I saw that sooner.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: Um, so I I remember that.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, big time.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: And I think that's what they're gonna do with um you know, a lot of these players that have a chance to come back, if they have a bye week, you can expect them to take another week just as an added precaution, unless it's really necessary to plug them in.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: And what about your matchup?
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: What's your second matchup, hot matchup of the week?
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: My second one is the Lions versus the Bucks.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Um the Lions offense has been firing on all cylinders.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: Got Montgomery, Laporta, Goff, you know, Monra should be back.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: Um James Williams in the mix.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Not too, you just got too many weapons.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: And Gibbs, you know, I think Gibbs is gonna slowly start to increase as the year goes on with his production.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: So um you know, even though the Buccaneers defense is pretty good, I feel like the Lions offense, similar story to the first time.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Um the the Lions offense is going to you know be spreading the ball around, they're gonna be running the ball, they're gonna be passing the ball, they're just gonna be doing what they do.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: And um the Buccaneers, they they sh I don't know if they're gonna have Mike Evans back, but Baker Mayfield's been surprisingly good.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: And even though the Lions defense has been good too, um, it's mostly their run defense.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: So I feel like Baker's gonna be able to pass the ball.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: If Mike Evans is back, then he's got Godwin and Mike Evans, and Rashad White has been good.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: So, you know, he's a pass catcher.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Um they're probably not gonna be, you know, involving him as much as Godwin and Evans, but I think it's gonna be a high scoring game.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: And I expect it to go above 50 points.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: That might be a little bold, but I feel like both of these teams are gonna be playing uh high-powered offense.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: Um, and if you you remember, obviously, from the offseason, Lions is one of my favorite offenses going into the season.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: Like I've been bullish on the Lions, and I have heavy shares of the Lions in all my fantasy teams, and it's really paying off.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, uh, they they look great.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: The only player I've you know I'm disappointed on from the Lions is of course Jameer Gibbs.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: He's the only one that's been disappointing outside of that.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: Everybody else has been great.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: Um, obviously, by everybody else, David Montgomery, uh, Sam Laporta, and obviously uh Amon Ra.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: So, I mean, they've been and Jared Goff, of course, so they've all been great, um, fantasy-wise.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: Um but the Bucks as well.
- 17:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, the Brooks have been a surprise, especially I'm not gonna pick up Baker Mayfield, but uh by any means, but um, you know, Chris Godwin, I knew he was gonna be solid.
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: Mike Evans was a great sleeper because he wasn't getting picked till the seventh, eighth round.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: He's yeah, wide receiver like five or six right now.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: Uh despite the hamstring, he still put up some amazing numbers.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: And then um Rashad uh White has been pretty solid as well.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: You know, and he's a much better pass catcher.
- 17:53SPEAKER_02: He does look better than he did last year.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: That O-line is better than last year.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: So definitely Bucks have been a pleasant surprise.
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: So I can see that being a great game.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: Um happy to have shares of you know both teams in any one of my leagues.
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: Um, so definitely looking forward to seeing that game and you know, seeing the result because I do have investments in both.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: All right, ladies and gentlemen, now it's time for your cold call of the week here.
- 18:21SPEAKER_02: Burr.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: Joe, what's your first uh cold call of the week?
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: I was trying to shiver, and it looked more like uh Hannibal from Silence of the Lambs.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: But uh he puts election on his skin or he gets the hose again.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: That was Buffalo.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: Um, my cold call of the week is uh the Ravens versus the Titans.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: I feel like the offense for both teams has been pretty bad, and the defense has been pretty good.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: So um the Ravens like to run the ball, and Tennessee probably has the best run defense in the league right now.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: They've looked amazing.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: So it's I mean, it's hard to say how the game is gonna play out.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: I think I think it's gonna be messy.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Um, and I see that you know the Titans on offense are just bad.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: They can't pass the ball, they can't run the ball, and it sucks because you know Derrick Henry is not looking like himself, uh DeAndre Hopkins is not looking like himself, and you know, they've had decent games here and there, but overall the offense stinks and their defense is good, and the same thing with the Ravens, their their offense has been all over the place, nothing's consistent, they like to run the ball, but they don't really have a backfield.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, running against the Titans is difficult.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Lamar could go off and just do what he does, but uh outside of Zay Flowers, he doesn't really have many people to pass to.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: Mark Andrews and Zay Flowers.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: So that's the only way I see them putting up points and and get-I do think they're gonna win the game, but I think it's gonna be a low-scoring affair.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: So I'd stay away from those guys.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: Just unless you've got Mark Andrews.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: If you need to play Zay Flowers, he's definitely a good play.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: Um and Lamar, I'm playing Lamar in one league, but I'm not I'm not confident in what he's gonna be able to do with his legs this week.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're right.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: I mean, the way people play those teams, they just stack the box.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's how they played Lamar last week, forcing to beat you through the air.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: And then um, you know, he and he he can't do it.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: Just double-team Mark Andrews and force Lamar to beat you through the air.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: And he couldn't do that last week.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: And OBJ, like that past your OBJ that got picked off in the end zone, that was underthrowing so bad.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so it wasn't even OBJ's fault.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: They try they try to say it's a lack of effort, like you can't under throw a ball worse than that.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: Like, that was all Lamar.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: You could say, like, it was chemistry, like you didn't even give him a chance to make a jump, at least give him a jump ball.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: Like, that was just straight to the defender.
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: But um, on the other side as well, Titans is the offense is so unexplosive, it's it's boring.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: You know, stack the box, you know, it's gonna be.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: I mean, when you have Ryan Tannehill back there, he's past his prime.
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: That guy's that guy should be uh mentoring those young guys, you know.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: Like you should have one of those young guys out there throwing the ball.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: You shouldn't have Tannehill over there.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: People know what you're gonna do, so they're not surprised by what you're doing.
- 21:26SPEAKER_02: You're gonna do a big formation, I eye formation, you're gonna do twin tight ends, you know, you're gonna do splitbacks, you're gonna do the same nonsense, and then people, you know, they're gonna they're guarding against it.
- 21:37SPEAKER_02: So guess what?
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: And it is a 9 30 game in London.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Like, guess what's gonna happen?
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be low score and like every other London game.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: Like people are not gonna it's gonna be a time zones difference, it's gonna be jet lag.
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: Like these guys are gonna be off their off their routine.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: So it's gonna be like worse than a Thursday game.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: So this is just gonna be uh A horrible, horrible situation.
- 22:03SPEAKER_02: You know, so I just, you know, if you have any investment in this team, I'm sorry, but you need to make trades.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: There's the guy in the league that keeps trying to trade DeAndre Hopkins.
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: There's a reason why.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: Because, you know, he it's just gonna be an inconsistent offense.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: You don't want any part of it.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, last week was big.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: He's he's probably gonna go back down.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: And then um, you know, if he has two good weeks in a row, uh, I might change my tune a little bit, but I don't know.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: This might not be the week for that.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: What about you, Manny?
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: Who's your cold call of the week?
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: My cold call is to stay away from two closely related shit teams named the Patriots and the Raiders, and they're related because the the Raiders are ran by a former Patriot named Josh McDaniels, and they're ran very similarly and and crapply by Josh McDaniels.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: They run that thing like a damn prison, man.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: It's like you can't have no fun, you can't talk bad about this place, or we are gonna put you in jail.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: Look at Chandler, what is it?
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: Chandler Parsons, he got released by a team, he's facing charges now.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: You know, Henry Ruggs is in jail.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: No, I'm just kidding, he did that to himself.
- 23:18SPEAKER_02: Um, but but they are just uh uh man, uh a hard offense to watch.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: Like Jimmy Garoppolo looked like a decent quarterback last year, and Sam Fran, you could tell is the system because in Josh McDaniel's system, that guy makes Jacoby Myers look like wide receiver one, and they can't even get the ball to Devontae Adams.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: And then those those yards, Josh Jacobs.
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: I know I told people buy on Josh Jacobs, and he's gonna get you those points, but me and you were talking about this.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be a slow grind fest.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: Like he's gonna get you your 15 to 20 points, but he's gonna get them to you 0.02 points at a time.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: He's gonna grind them out.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's gonna get any better as the season goes on.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: You know, I I know you're talking about him getting in football shape, but you can't grind like that for a full season, you know.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: I don't think so.
- 24:11SPEAKER_02: Um, I think that he's gonna, you know, he's gonna he's gonna be uh a guy that you're not gonna you're he's not a league winner for like he was last year.
- 24:20SPEAKER_02: Like he doesn't, you know, I think the the wear and tear is gonna wear down on him.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: That O line's a little bit beat up.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: Uh I mean Devontae Adams is already fed up with it, you know.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Like you could tell when a player's players don't buy in, when the culture's not really right, because you could tell when when players are not buying into a system, you know, you can see whether there's something else going on, and and obviously like Josh Jacobs wasn't happy, and now he got paid, and now he's happy.
- 24:45SPEAKER_02: He's not happy.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: He got his money, but he's not happy.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: Devontae Adams isn't happy, Jimmy Garoppolo isn't happy, like there's a lot of dysfunction in that organization, and then Patriots are just uh uh shit show, and they're not happy, they have no offense.
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: They're the this is gonna be the worst season.
- 25:01SPEAKER_02: You might even see Bill Belichick get fired after this season.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: It's it's that much of a dysfunction.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: That's the last two games for Mac Jones have been atrocious.
- 25:11SPEAKER_02: And then even see Bailey Zap back in there.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: I mean, there they need a spark.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: I mean, uh, if I would love to see Bailey Zap because I got Hunter Henry in one of my leagues is my starting tight end.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: I could use a I could use a a boost to my tight end.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: He could he at least get me eight points a game.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: I bet you're better than zero.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but that's that's pretty much where you're at.
- 25:35SPEAKER_02: Just stay the hell away from that game.
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: Like I said, if you you know, if you got Josh Jacobs, I know I said buy low on him, he's gonna be your RB3 flex.
- 25:45SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, you could sell if somebody wants to buy high on him, sell him off.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna get rid of him now, or or yeah, you know, sell him back game, and then you can get rid of him if if it's not the right time.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: But right now he has two 20-point games, you know.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: You could sell high on him right now, get rid of him while people because if you actually watch those games, it's only a matter of time before people start catching on and seeing like the type of dysfunction that's going on in Las Vegas, and it's not pretty.
- 26:14SPEAKER_02: Like that place is just there's something about it, there's a negativity that you just don't want to be a part of.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: Like as a fantasy football owner, trust me, you want to get I got I sold my shares of Devontae Adams, and I'm done.
- 26:27SPEAKER_02: Like, I want nothing with it.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: Trust me.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: I still kind of like Jacoby Myers, but it's just because of the value, you know.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: You probably got him late, so you could plug him in and and be happy with him as a flex play.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: Because he's putting up much better numbers than anyone expected.
- 26:46SPEAKER_02: Better than Navante.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: It's time for the shit call of the week.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: What was your shit call of the week last week?
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: Well, Joe, that's real easy.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: Um, them Cowgirls made that shit call real easy for me.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: I said that last week the Niners versus the Cowboys was gonna be the highest scoring game.
- 27:15SPEAKER_02: And yeah, the Niners scored 42.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: The Cowboys didn't do nothing.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: They did 10.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: They threw three, three, they had three interceptions, two tur uh, two fumbles, and they didn't score anything.
- 27:28SPEAKER_02: They were just just completely horrific on prime time.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: They're talking a cat big game, and they just didn't back it up.
- 27:35SPEAKER_02: So they made me look bad.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: And you guys better not come in our house in Philly and play a good game after you did that with the Niners, because guess what?
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: That shit ain't gonna happen, boys.
- 27:46SPEAKER_02: Not not in our house, all right?
- 27:48SPEAKER_02: Not after you play like that.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: Don't pretend like you're good now.
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: Okay, the whole world's seen it.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: We know what you are, you're pretenders.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: Okay, so thanks for making me look bad.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: They actually made me look kind of good just with my call because I know we don't like to boast about the big balls calls because usually we're gonna get those wrong because they're big balls calls.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: But I did say the Niners are gonna win by two touchdowns, and they exceeded my expectations.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: And you know, we knew that the Cowboys defense was good, but we we all had questions about their offense.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: They did play the Niners.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: Niners are one of the best teams in the league, so tough matchup.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Cowboys are gonna bounce back.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: But you know, it was a high-scoring game, just not as uh evenly matched as most people expected.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: And my shit call was I said I wasn't sure about playing Cooper Cup.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: I said if you have him, of course you're gonna put him in, but don't expect him to do big things.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: He's been limited in practice all week.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: They're gonna ease him back in.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: Nope.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: He came right back in.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: He looked incredible.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: He looked like he never skipped a beat.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: He had 12 targets, eight catches, and 118 yards, and he looked real good doing it.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: So I expected him to be limited.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: I said, be cautious if you have a better option, play them.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Obviously, you don't really have any better options if you held on to Cooper Cup, but I just did not expect him to play that well.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: I expect him to do like half of the production that he did.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: So pleasantly surprised, but but I was surprised.
- 29:28SPEAKER_02: I did say he was running some routes last week, though, right?
- 29:31SPEAKER_02: Doing that footwork, and he looked he looked sharp.
- 29:34SPEAKER_02: I was like, Cooper Cup is gonna cook her ass.
- 29:36SPEAKER_02: But I was like, Rivers, I was like, stay away from Rivers because the run game is dead.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and sure enough.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: You know, we we talked about you know Rivers being a a deep league flex play, a stash.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: Or a stash, because uh, you know, Kyron they had uh injured and listed as limited all week, too.
- 29:58SPEAKER_02: He was uh he was on a limited workload, right?
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was uh bad bad game for um for the backfield altogether.
- 30:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I told you as a Philly number one run game in the run defense and the biggest.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you said they're gonna pass the ball.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: You said that you know Philly just Philly secondaries hurting and expect a lot of passing, and that's all they did.
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: So yeah, Nakua and Cooper Cup both, man.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: They both had over 10 targets, and they tutor Abo even got a touchdown.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: He didn't he didn't do well at all, but he had a touchdown.
- 30:30SPEAKER_02: So yeah, but both those guys had over 10 targets.
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: That was crazy.
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but yeah, it was a good game for him.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: Good game, and uh, yeah, I'm I mean, at least we won that game.
- 30:40SPEAKER_02: I'm very happy about that.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, good game.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: All right, everybody.
- 30:56SPEAKER_02: It's time to pull out them big old cojones because it's your big ball call of the week.
- 31:01SPEAKER_02: Let them drop.
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: All right, Joe.
- 31:03SPEAKER_02: What what is your big ball's call this week, Joe?
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: Well, as you touched on earlier, uh the Bengals looked like they're back in peak form the way they should have looked, much sooner than everyone expected, but they looked great last week.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, they played the Cardinals, but you know, Cardinals haven't been that bad either.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: So I think, since they're finally starting to get their shit together, uh, that their offense is just gonna be really good.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a high-scoring affair against Seattle.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: And even though Seattle's run defense is pretty good, I think the Bengals can get up early by passing the ball, you know, Burrow to Jamar again and again, score a couple touchdowns, and then they're just gonna lean on Mixon and give him the volume that they always do.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: And I expect with that volume, Mixon to get a couple goal line carries and score two touchdowns.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: So I'm saying Joe Mixon gets two touchdowns against Seattle this weekend.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: All right, yeah.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: He's that guy that gets multiple touchdowns, too.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: You know he's always gonna have one of those games.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: So this is this is a good time to do that.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: What about you?
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: What's that your big ball is call of the week?
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: Well, my big ball is called the week.
- 32:24SPEAKER_02: So uh you touched up uh uh earlier about the the Bucks game, right?
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: Being a high-scoring game.
- 32:32SPEAKER_02: Um the possible obviously you touch about Mike Evans having a hamstring injury, possibly not playing, right?
- 32:39SPEAKER_02: So I think that he might not play, and that means that Chris Godwin gets to step up and have his big game.
- 32:46SPEAKER_02: So I think that Chris Godwin is a top five wide receiver.
- 32:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he did, he he was you know the main guy for half a half a game.
- 32:55SPEAKER_02: So I think Chris Godwin ends up being a top five wide receiver this week, and he ends up over 10 receptions, over 125 yards and two touchdowns.
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: Oh man.
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: So that's my big ball's call.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: Not saying they win the game, but hey, he gets but he gets his he gets his shine.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: So um definitely worth uh plugging them in.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: If you're looking at I'm not a daily fancy guy or anything like that, but he could definitely be a nice little plug-in play for cheap for DFS.
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: So definitely worth putting him in your lineups.
- 33:25SPEAKER_00: And if if Evans doesn't play, I mean there's no question that Godwin's gonna be getting plenty of volume, and and as we discussed, that's gonna be a high-scoring game, a lot of offense in that game.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: So I could totally see that.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: And I do have Mike Evans in a couple leagues, so I really want him to play, but I also have Godwin in one league, so I somehow ended up with Evans and Godwin on the same team.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: I wasn't paying attention doing a trade or something, but anyway, it is what it is.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: It's a good problem to have, not a bad problem to have.
- 34:05SPEAKER_02: All right, ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for joining us here again here for Fancy Football Sports Minds.
