- 0:10Speaker 1: Drew, back on this week with us.
- 0:12Speaker 2: We haven't talked since that FSU game, so maybe we'll
- 0:14Speaker 2: talk a little bit about that, a little bit about
- 0:16Speaker 2: Bama the last couple of weeks, and then we'll get
- 0:17Speaker 2: into this Mississippi State game.
- 0:18Speaker 1: But, Drew, how you doing, bud?
- 0:20Speaker 3: I'm doing well. Or we could talk about Big Bad Breakfast.
- 0:23Speaker 3: There you go.
- 0:24Speaker 1: That was good. Yeah, so for anybody in the— we' re not.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Flying to Huntsville area— Okay, nobody tuned in for this,
- 0:31Speaker 2: but they're going to hear it if they want to
- 0:32Speaker 2: get to the Mississippi State talk.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Promise, we'll get talked about. Maybe it's defense, we'll talk
- 0:37Speaker 1: about Kamaru Taylor, all these other things. But they've got
- 0:40Speaker 1: a tomato gravy that is phenomenal.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I've never even heard of tomato gravy, but I was like, hey,
- 0:47Speaker 2: when I go to a new city and a new restaurant,
- 0:49Speaker 2: I usually just ask, what are you known for? And
- 0:52Speaker 2: whatever they say, this is our staple, I'm like, bring
- 0:54Speaker 2: it on. If I'm going to a steakhouse, I'll just
- 0:56Speaker 2: get a steak. I'll get the steak I want. But anyway,
- 0:59Speaker 2: Big Brad Breakfast in Huntsville, Alabama. They didn't sponsor the show,
- 1:02Speaker 2: but if they.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Would like to, we would love for that to happen.
- 1:07Speaker 1: But yeah, the tomato gravy on the skillet. Phenomenal. Great stuff.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Go check that out if you're anywhere close to Huntsville.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I don't know where else they have locations, but definitely there.
- 1:19Speaker 2: The thing I want to start with. So I'm going
- 1:21Speaker 2: to tie both things together. So Kamaru Taylor. maybe the
- 1:25Speaker 2: most impressive, you know, Trinidad's up there. Keelan's been really good.
- 1:28Speaker 2: There there's been good quarterback play in this league so
- 1:30Speaker 2: far this year. Philo's had a better year than I
- 1:32Speaker 2: think a lot of people would expect, but Camaro Taylor
- 1:34Speaker 2: has been a real difference maker. Um, Bama got the
- 1:38Speaker 2: win against FSU two weeks ago when I was there,
- 1:41Speaker 2: you were there.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We talked about that game before we talked about it
- 1:44Speaker 1: driving down.
- 1:45Speaker 2: We talked about it a ton, but, um, Do you
- 1:48Speaker 2: worry a little bit about the defensive performance in that
- 1:51Speaker 2: game where you give up 377 passing yards to Ashton Daniels,
- 1:53Speaker 2: 36 points to a Florida State team that certainly has
- 1:57Speaker 2: question marks? I mean, I think they only put 34
- 1:59Speaker 2: points up against Central Arkansas this week. Is that kind
- 2:04Speaker 2: of the forefront of your mind is like, OK, defense
- 2:06Speaker 2: has got to be better. We cannot let Kamario Taylor
- 2:08Speaker 2: beat us this weekend.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Well, it's a couple things. You worry about the weather
- 2:13Speaker 3: because it looks like it may be wet, and we've
- 2:16Speaker 3: never seen Keelan Russell play in a wet environment as
- 2:20Speaker 3: far as throw a wet football because I always think
- 2:24Speaker 3: back to my days growing up and being blessed to
- 2:28Speaker 3: watch some of the all-time greats play the game, like
- 2:31Speaker 3: a John Elway, who I still think, pound for pound,
- 2:35Speaker 3: might be the most talented quarterback to ever play in
- 2:38Speaker 3: the NFL. And what I mean by that is, is
- 2:41Speaker 3: he my favorite or do I think he's the best
- 2:44Speaker 3: or the most clutch thing of that nature? I think,
- 2:48Speaker 3: you know, that would probably have to go to Joe
- 2:49Speaker 3: Montana and what he did with these 49ers. And then
- 2:54Speaker 3: Tom Brady was great. But I'm just talking about being
- 2:58Speaker 3: the most physically talented, talking about arm, mobility. make-up. He
- 3:04Speaker 3: won two Super Bowls himself, so he's certainly probably in
- 3:07Speaker 3: the top five all-time at the position. He was also
- 3:12Speaker 3: a first-round baseball talent, a guy that was just a
- 3:15Speaker 3: great all-around athlete. But what I mean and what I'm
- 3:18Speaker 3: tying it together is I think Keelan is the same way.
- 3:22Speaker 3: He's a supremely good athlete. To me, he doesn't have
- 3:25Speaker 3: a weakness as a player thus far that we've really seen,
- 3:29Speaker 3: but I'll never forget John Elway saying he couldn't throw
- 3:31Speaker 3: a wet football. He always said, when I played, I
- 3:36Speaker 3: hated the rain because I had trouble throwing a wet football.
- 3:40Speaker 3: We don't know if Keelan Russell can do that. I mean,
- 3:44Speaker 3: that's the problem. Now, you know, on Talking Ball this morning, TJ,
- 3:48Speaker 3: we were talking about Steve Spurrier. And Coach Spurrier, you know,
- 3:53Speaker 3: kind of revolutionized the passing game in the SEC when
- 3:56Speaker 3: he came from Duke in the ACC and won the
- 3:58Speaker 3: league before Manny Diaz ever did. with what Coach called
- 4:03Speaker 3: air ball. And nobody had really seen his style of offense.
- 4:10Speaker 3: But the thing is, Coach Spurrier welcomed the rain because
- 4:14Speaker 3: he felt like, okay, my receivers and my quarterback know
- 4:17Speaker 3: where they're going with the ball. And we can still
- 4:22Speaker 3: throw the football in the rain. What Coach Spurrier didn't
- 4:24Speaker 3: like was the wind. Because the wind could affect a
- 4:28Speaker 3: football and being in the accuracy with which you throw it.
- 4:32Speaker 3: The wind never really affected Elway because he may have
- 4:35Speaker 3: had one of the top two to three strongest arms
- 4:38Speaker 3: in the history of the game. But the rain did.
- 4:42Speaker 3: And so I'm a little bit skittish about the rain.
- 4:46Speaker 3: And will it affect either one of these quarterbacks? The footwork,
- 4:52Speaker 3: your ability to throw. We don't know because we haven't
- 4:55Speaker 3: seen this Alabama team really play in the rain much
- 4:58Speaker 3: at all. Really, Mississippi State, I think the weather was
- 5:02Speaker 3: really good over in Minnesota for the most part, so
- 5:05Speaker 3: I don't really think they've had to be affected by it.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Now they're going to be playing in their stadium at Davis-Wade,
- 5:13Speaker 3: so they know it. When you play at home and
- 5:17Speaker 3: you're familiar with it, it always gives you an advantage.
- 5:20Speaker 3: So I'm a little bit skittish about that. Plus, as
- 5:23Speaker 3: you saw, you know, the week before when Alabama went
- 5:30Speaker 3: to Kentucky before Florida State, that was probably the worst
- 5:33Speaker 3: half of football Keelan's played. He had three turnovers in
- 5:37Speaker 3: the first half. But Alabama defensively was really good the
- 5:41Speaker 3: entire game and kept him in it. And then they
- 5:44Speaker 3: pulled away in the second half. Once they cleaned up
- 5:46Speaker 3: the penalties, they cleaned up the turnovers. and they outscored
- 5:50Speaker 3: them 32-0. So I'm a little bit worried, and when
- 5:55Speaker 3: really there's a third thing too. Besides the weather, besides
- 6:00Speaker 3: Keelan being on the road, the third thing is, and
- 6:04Speaker 3: you just mentioned it, Alabama did not play well, I thought,
- 6:08Speaker 3: for three of the four quarters against Florida State. I'll
- 6:12Speaker 3: say one of them they did, and I'll give it
- 6:14Speaker 3: a whole quarter of action because they had three sacks,
- 6:19Speaker 3: and they had three interceptions. So to me, that's worth
- 6:22Speaker 3: a quarter. Now the other three, Ashton, Daniels, and the
- 6:28Speaker 3: crew shredded Alabama. And one of the things that's bothered
- 6:32Speaker 3: me about this team, not much, but one of it
- 6:35Speaker 3: is I think I talked to you in the preseason
- 6:38Speaker 3: about Alabama. I felt like Alabama would have one of
- 6:40Speaker 3: the best secondaries in all of college football, and it's
- 6:43Speaker 3: probably been the weakest part of the defense, which has
- 6:47Speaker 3: been a little bit surprising. Uh, Zabian Brown has played well.
- 6:52Speaker 3: He hasn't, they don't, they don't challenge him much. He's
- 6:55Speaker 3: been up to it. Bray Hubbard has, has been solid, uh,
- 6:59Speaker 3: even though he's made a couple of mistakes and he's
- 7:01Speaker 3: a little banged up coming into this game, but Keon
- 7:03Speaker 3: Saab has not been, uh, what, what a veteran safety,
- 7:07Speaker 3: what you would think he would be. Um, Jaira Edwards,
- 7:10Speaker 3: I kind of made this comment in the press box.
- 7:12Speaker 3: It looked like to me, Jyra Edwards, who's played more
- 7:16Speaker 3: and more as he's gotten back from his broken clavicle, collarbone, arm,
- 7:20Speaker 3: whatever you want to call it, was coaching up Saab.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I mean, it really looked that way in the game
- 7:27Speaker 3: against South Carolina. So Saab has not been as good. Now,
- 7:32Speaker 3: Red Morgan has been really good at the Husky spot.
- 7:34Speaker 3: He's had two straight games with interceptions. He had one
- 7:37Speaker 3: against Florida State early, and then he had a pick
- 7:40Speaker 3: six against South Carolina. But he'll even admit to you
- 7:43Speaker 3: that he played the Florida State one. It was the
- 7:48Speaker 3: wrong read, but he read it and made the play.
- 7:52Speaker 3: So the secondary, they've got to clean. I think most
- 7:55Speaker 3: of it is communication issues. But as you saw, because
- 7:59Speaker 3: Florida State really turned it on and really victimized him
- 8:02Speaker 3: all game. Dijon Lee, number five, the sophomore, really struggled
- 8:06Speaker 3: against Deuce Robinson, who I think is a future NFL player.
- 8:10Speaker 3: I think he's probably one of the top two players
- 8:12Speaker 3: on Florida State's football team. But he struggled. He couldn't
- 8:15Speaker 3: cover him with a 10-foot pole. And then he struggled
- 8:19Speaker 3: a little bit in the last game. And you're going
- 8:21Speaker 3: up against a wide receiver core led by Anthony Evans,
- 8:25Speaker 3: the Georgia transfer at Mississippi State. They are fast at
- 8:31Speaker 3: every spot. And if you could say Kamario Taylor has
- 8:36Speaker 3: struggled with something, maybe the short and intermediate he's struggled
- 8:39Speaker 3: with a little bit.
- 8:40Speaker 2: In Alumni Hall using our code CFA15. Doesn't sign you

- 8:48Speaker 2: You don't have to put any extra information in. Make

- 8:53Speaker 2: online and in-store. We appreciate them for their support.
- 8:57Speaker 3: He has taken shots every game. They were down 16-0
- 9:02Speaker 3: to South Carolina on the road. If you had told
- 9:05Speaker 3: me that going in, I would have said Carolina is
- 9:06Speaker 3: going to win. Well, he said, hold my beer, because
- 9:11Speaker 3: they hit two deep balls, got within 16-14, and you
- 9:14Speaker 3: know how the rest of it played out. They come
- 9:17Speaker 3: back to win 41-34. And then Missouri comes back from
- 9:22Speaker 3: a 14-0 deficit to take a lead in the fourth quarter, 24-17.
- 9:29Speaker 3: But Camario brings them back in the fourth quarter with
- 9:31Speaker 3: two scores. So he's already had to rally his team
- 9:35Speaker 3: a couple of times. And once on the road, once
- 9:38Speaker 3: at home, he's just a special talent. And I've seen
- 9:43Speaker 3: Alabama fall victim to these kind of guys, the Johnny Manziels,
- 9:47Speaker 3: because Johnny played a great game on the road at Alabama.
- 9:51Speaker 3: And so and Cam Newton did the same thing years ago.
- 9:54Speaker 3: So if you have a special quarterback or he just
- 9:57Speaker 3: has a Trevor Knight or Steven Garcia moment, if you
- 10:02Speaker 3: have a hot quarterback, then you can get Alabama. But
- 10:07Speaker 3: I think what's going to have to happen, Alabama's got
- 10:13Speaker 3: to take care of the football. which continue to cut
- 10:18Speaker 3: down on the penalties, which they've done a much better
- 10:19Speaker 3: job of. I think they only had four against South Carolina.
- 10:23Speaker 3: They're going to have to do that. I thought he
- 10:26Speaker 3: was really good against Florida State. I thought he was
- 10:28Speaker 3: Heisman level against South Carolina. And they're going to need
- 10:30Speaker 3: that against Mississippi State because to me, TJ, and I
- 10:33Speaker 3: picked the game 37-28 Alabama, they're going to have to
- 10:36Speaker 3: score in the high 30s to win this game because
- 10:39Speaker 3: this ain't 2011. You're not going to be able to
- 10:42Speaker 3: shut people down And Levy and Mississippi State have built
- 10:47Speaker 3: their team around their quarterback, speed at receiver, and then
- 10:50Speaker 3: they've got a hammer in Fluff Bothwell, who I know
- 10:53Speaker 3: I've told you about. He's the second leading rusher in
- 10:56Speaker 3: the SEC. So first and foremost, the other thing Alabama's
- 11:00Speaker 3: going to have to do besides cut penalties down, take
- 11:03Speaker 3: care of it, and score, they've got to slow down Bothwell.
- 11:07Speaker 3: They have to make Mississippi State one-dimensional, and then they
- 11:10Speaker 3: have to hope they can force Camario and do a
- 11:13Speaker 3: couple of mistakes. To me, the key is to get
- 11:15Speaker 3: four or five stops the entire game, because I think
- 11:19Speaker 3: you're going to give up points and yards. You have
- 11:22Speaker 3: to find a way, whether it's a turnover, uh, interception,
- 11:25Speaker 3: fumble turnover on down, or you just stop them, make
- 11:30Speaker 3: them punt. You got to get some stops because if
- 11:33Speaker 3: you don't, uh, you know, this, this could end up
- 11:35Speaker 3: being one of those 48, 45 shootouts that you could
- 11:39Speaker 3: come out on the short end of. So, To me,
- 11:41Speaker 3: Alabama's got to be a little disruptive defensively. I'm not naive, though.
- 11:45Speaker 3: There are going to be moments where you better have
- 11:47Speaker 3: you something cold to drink and just calm yourself down
- 11:50Speaker 3: because you're going to give up yards, but you've just
- 11:53Speaker 3: got to be ready to play. And I think you
- 11:55Speaker 3: also– and they did so being up 14-0 against South Carolina,
- 11:59Speaker 3: even though they went three and out on the first possession.
- 12:01Speaker 3: You've got to get off to a nice start. You
- 12:03Speaker 3: don't want to let this crowd and these cowbells get
- 12:07Speaker 3: to rolling and dig yourself a hole. Because, again, you've
- 12:11Speaker 3: got a young quarterback, and he needs to play with confidence,
- 12:14Speaker 3: and you need to get off to a good start.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Yeah, where I do have confidence in Bama is that offense,
- 12:19Speaker 2: when you talk about them going out and scoring themselves. I,
- 12:24Speaker 2: as impressed as I am, and I don't want to
- 12:25Speaker 2: call Mississippi State's defense, I'm not calling them bad, but
- 12:29Speaker 2: I just don't think they're a great matchup for this
- 12:31Speaker 2: Bama offense, if and when it gets rolling. I mean,
- 12:34Speaker 2: Bama has started slow. You know, like they did against
- 12:37Speaker 2: Florida State, they did against Kentucky. They can't do that
- 12:41Speaker 2: this weekend. And not that they can't come back.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I mean, they scored on what?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Like nine straight positions against Florida State. Like when they
- 12:47Speaker 2: get rolling, they can get rolling. I don't know that
- 12:49Speaker 2: you want to do that on the road where you
- 12:51Speaker 2: got to score on nine straight possessions. Because look what
- 12:53Speaker 2: happened with Ole Miss this weekend in the swamp. They
- 12:56Speaker 2: started slow. Florida had the lead at the half. Ole
- 12:59Speaker 2: Miss was trying to fight back, trying to fight back. Well,
- 13:01Speaker 2: the first time you don't, Florida goes in and puts
- 13:03Speaker 2: a dagger in. Then if you don't again, you press
- 13:05Speaker 2: a little more, Florida puts another dagger in. And that's
- 13:07Speaker 2: kind of the thing is You don't want this to be, hey,
- 13:11Speaker 2: we're fighting back, we're fighting back, we're fighting back, and
- 13:13Speaker 2: all of a sudden one thing goes wrong and Mississippi
- 13:15Speaker 2: State's up by 17. But all that said, I do
- 13:19Speaker 2: have a lot of confidence if Alabama's offense can get
- 13:21Speaker 2: started and not start it in the second quarter, but
- 13:24Speaker 2: actually get started in the second half. If they can
- 13:27Speaker 2: get started in the first quarter, start rolling, I think
- 13:30Speaker 2: the gap between their offense and the Mississippi State defense
- 13:35Speaker 2: is is bigger than the other gap. I don't think
- 13:37Speaker 2: Mississippi State's offense is so much better than Alabama's defense
- 13:39Speaker 2: comparatively the other way. So I like Alabama's offense to
- 13:42Speaker 2: kind of get rolling in this thing. I think Bama
- 13:44Speaker 2: does win. I think they cover the spread. But again,
- 13:48Speaker 2: a lot of that is determined on the offense can't
- 13:50Speaker 2: start two three and outs and two field goals like
- 13:53Speaker 2: they did against Florida State. It's got to be, can't
- 13:56Speaker 2: go four possessions and not have seven points on the
- 13:58Speaker 2: board like they did against the Seminoles because I think
- 14:00Speaker 2: Mississippi State's got enough talent to make you pay for that,
- 14:03Speaker 2: whereas Florida State couldn't sustain.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Well, here's the thing, too. I thought the key to
- 14:07Speaker 3: South Carolina, even though the offense went three and out,
- 14:11Speaker 3: South Carolina popped a run on the first play, 56 yards,
- 14:15Speaker 3: but then missed the field goal. Alabama pushed them backwards.
- 14:17Speaker 3: They missed a 45-yarder at doinked. And then their next possession,
- 14:22Speaker 3: once again, they were driving, but Alabama turned them over
- 14:24Speaker 3: on a fourth down. And those are stops. So you're
- 14:28Speaker 3: going to have to get stops against Mississippi State. You're
- 14:30Speaker 3: going to have to. Make the quarterback uncomfortable. He's a
- 14:34Speaker 3: great athlete, but you've got to get some heat on him.
- 14:37Speaker 3: You've got to make him make decisions. And then hopefully,
- 14:41Speaker 3: and this is what I said today, you have to
- 14:43Speaker 3: play with the lead. That's why I was saying start well.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Get the crowd a little bit out of it. They're
- 14:49Speaker 3: going to be crazy anyway. But, you know, if Alabama's
- 14:53Speaker 3: ahead in the football game, there's always a seed of doubt.
- 14:57Speaker 3: So you have to build a lead, like get out
- 15:01Speaker 3: maybe– 14-3, something like that, and then make Kamario Taylor
- 15:05Speaker 3: chase you. And he's going to make some plays. But
- 15:09Speaker 3: if you can play with the lead, it always puts
- 15:12Speaker 3: some pressure on him. And then maybe you get a
- 15:15Speaker 3: couple of turnovers. And you're referring to that with Florida
- 15:18Speaker 3: Ole Miss because it was a back-and-forth game with Florida
- 15:21Speaker 3: and Ole Miss for almost three quarters. But Florida kept
- 15:24Speaker 3: the offensive pressure up, as you're saying. They kept running
- 15:27Speaker 3: the football, too, with Jaden Ball and Clark. And then
- 15:32Speaker 3: they finally get to Trinidad Chambliss and turn him over some.
- 15:36Speaker 3: And then before you know it, it's a 52-28 game.
- 15:39Speaker 3: And they win it going away. So Alabama needs to
- 15:42Speaker 3: play similar to that. It's tougher on the road now
- 15:45Speaker 3: because the Swamp was nuts. And that's the one pick
- 15:50Speaker 3: last week I regret. I didn't have enough guts to
- 15:53Speaker 3: pick the Gators at home. I picked Ole Miss 34-31.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I thought John's team would play their ass off. But
- 15:59Speaker 3: I just thought Trinidad in the end would steal the game.
- 16:03Speaker 3: It didn't happen. Jaden Ball and that running game were
- 16:06Speaker 3: over 300 yards. They just dominated the line of scrimmage.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Alabama's going to have to create some balance Saturday. You know,
- 16:13Speaker 3: Fluff Bothwell has been great. Now we need to see
- 16:16Speaker 3: Alabama's running game flex a little bit. It wasn't great
- 16:19Speaker 3: against South Carolina. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Keelan Russell was great. And from the jump, I mean,
- 16:27Speaker 3: they were able to make huge vertical plays. And I
- 16:30Speaker 3: know that Mississippi State has a first-round corner who's a
- 16:34Speaker 3: really good player, and it'll be interesting to see if
- 16:39Speaker 3: he matches up with one guy like a Brian Coleman-Williams
- 16:43Speaker 3: or even a Lottie Brooks, or if he just moves
- 16:47Speaker 3: from receiver to receiver and just is on one side
- 16:50Speaker 3: and doesn't follow one particular guy. It'll be interesting. But
- 16:54Speaker 3: I think Keelan continues to need to spread the ball
- 16:57Speaker 3: out I think he had nine, ten different receivers he
- 17:00Speaker 3: hit on Saturday. The tight end room is tremendous, both
- 17:04Speaker 3: in the run game and they've started to contribute more
- 17:07Speaker 3: in the pass game. You saw Marshall Pritchett make more
- 17:09Speaker 3: plays in the last game. TJ, Caleb Edwards, Caleb Edwards
- 17:13Speaker 3: also made some plays against Florida State. And even Josh Ford,
- 17:17Speaker 3: who basically took Dylan Stewart mentally out of the game.
- 17:21Speaker 3: He makes a tremendous one-handed catch. He's kind of an instigator,
- 17:25Speaker 3: but he's Alabama's instigator. And so he's a guy that
- 17:28Speaker 3: plays very, very physically, kind of sets the tone for
- 17:31Speaker 3: that tight end room. And Alabama has to set the
- 17:34Speaker 3: tone physically. You have to come out in this game
- 17:37Speaker 3: against Mississippi State and throw the first punch. Whether you're
- 17:40Speaker 3: throwing the ball, whether you're running it, you've got to
- 17:42Speaker 3: come out and put doubt in their mind because they're
- 17:45Speaker 3: going to be off the wall emotionally. And this start
- 17:49Speaker 3: for them, it's their second straight 4-0 start. But let's
- 17:52Speaker 3: not misunderstand something. This is They've got Fluff Bothwell healthy,
- 17:58Speaker 3: a lot healthier than a year ago. And what they've got, too,
- 18:01Speaker 3: is they've got Kamario Taylor, who has been a Heisman candidate.
- 18:06Speaker 3: I mean, look, I think the winner of this game,
- 18:09Speaker 3: the quarterback will be in the top two to three
- 18:11Speaker 3: for the Heisman trophy early. Now, it doesn't mean anything
- 18:13Speaker 3: right now, but certainly the winner of this game will
- 18:17Speaker 3: have a ton of momentum. And Alabama's got a brutal
- 18:21Speaker 3: game with Georgia coming up. And so What you have
- 18:24Speaker 3: to do in the SEC is you've got to avoid
- 18:26Speaker 3: multi-game losing streaks because you can play your way to
- 18:30Speaker 3: the ledge really fast if you don't show up or
- 18:35Speaker 3: if you drop a game. You look at Ole Miss now.
- 18:38Speaker 3: They've lost a game. LSU has lost a game. So
- 18:41Speaker 3: you're not out of it by any stretch, but the
- 18:44Speaker 3: pressure mounts, and it will mount quickly on Alabama if
- 18:47Speaker 3: they don't get the job done in Starkville because you've
- 18:49Speaker 3: got the big, bad dogs who right now Georgia looks
- 18:52Speaker 3: like the best team in the SEC now. Granted, their
- 18:55Speaker 3: SEC schedule hasn't been the most difficult, and I think
- 18:57Speaker 3: they're going to smash Vanderbilt and Athens. But they're not
- 19:01Speaker 3: just beating people, TJ. They're destroying. And they look like
- 19:05Speaker 3: one of Nick Saban's old teams, a veteran team that
- 19:08Speaker 3: knows who they are. And so if you're Alabama, you've
- 19:10Speaker 3: got to stay sharp and handle success and go to
- 19:13Speaker 3: Starkville and get a W.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Drew, where can people follow you? Where can they find
- 19:19Speaker 2: everything you've got going on up until kickoff? Man, we
- 19:21Speaker 2: appreciate you for joining us.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Let the people know.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely. They can follow me at DrewD977ESPN on X.
- 19:29Speaker 3: They can follow us at 977ESPN on X, our radio station, 97.7
- 19:34Speaker 3: The Zone. All of our content is on SoundCloud, 97.7
- 19:37Speaker 3: The Zone, and 977ESPN. com. We're also on WZZN-TV if they
- 19:44Speaker 3: like to see my beautiful face here like they do
- 19:46Speaker 3: on College Football Addiction. You give me more air time
- 19:49Speaker 3: than just about anybody that's seen me. But we're doing
- 19:52Speaker 3: WZZN-TV a lot now. We pretty much live stream every show.
- 19:58Speaker 3: And we had a lot of fun today. You would
- 19:59Speaker 3: have loved it. You're a foodie. So we had the
- 20:02Speaker 3: brass tap catered us an entire slate this morning. I mean,
- 20:07Speaker 3: I'm just now recovering. They brought us three orders of wings,
- 20:13Speaker 3: some barbecue nachos, and a whole pizza. So it was
- 20:18Speaker 3: epic this morning on the show.
- 20:20Speaker 2: I had a ham sandwich this morning, which don't get
- 20:22Speaker 2: me wrong, I love a ham sandwich. I love a
- 20:23Speaker 2: lunch meat sandwich. It was really good, but you're putting
- 20:27Speaker 2: my ham sandwich to shame, man.
- 20:28Speaker 1: So you make me feel bad.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Shout out to them on the College Football Addiction Show
- 20:33Speaker 3: because The food was phenomenal, and we appreciate them very much.
- 20:37Speaker 3: We always appreciate being on with you. Like I say,
- 20:40Speaker 3: I've got Alabama winning this game 37-28. I know they're
- 20:44Speaker 3: about a 5.5, 6-point favorite. That's probably about right, in
- 20:48Speaker 3: my opinion, with the way Alabama's been playing. But I
- 20:51Speaker 3: have no delusions of grandeur. I know Mississippi State's a
- 20:53Speaker 3: good football team. I give Levy a lot of credit,
- 20:57Speaker 3: and their athletic director, Zach Selman for sticking with him.
- 21:06Speaker 3: There was no panic when he got there because it
- 21:09Speaker 3: was really rough the first couple of years. He's brought
- 21:12Speaker 3: Zach Arnett in as DC, which was a brilliant move,
- 21:15Speaker 3: in my opinion, to get him back. And that's what's
- 21:17Speaker 3: going to make this game tougher because they were a
- 21:19Speaker 3: train wreck defensively the last two years. They're still not great,
- 21:24Speaker 3: but they're a lot better than they were. Super. Keelan
- 21:27Speaker 3: Russell's got to be good in this game for Alabama
- 21:30Speaker 3: to win it, and they've got to have some balance
- 21:31Speaker 3: and be able to run the footballs, especially in the
- 21:34Speaker 3: second half if it's raining.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Drew, we appreciate you.
- 21:37Speaker 2: We appreciate our friends over at PrizePix.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Again, all new users, play.
