- 0:04Dayna Roselli: Dates are announced for Formula One's Las Vegas Grand Prix.
- 0:08Dayna Roselli: It includes four days and nights of sports and entertainment programming.
- 0:13Sean McAllister: And our WNBA team takes it all home.
- 0:32Sean McAllister: This is Las Vegas' first professional team to win a championship title, and the town is buzzing.
- 0:39Dayna Roselli: Plus, a couple of top-notch restaurants are announced on and off the strip.
- 0:44Sean McAllister: And did you know you can go on a camel safari near Las Vegas?
- 0:49Sean McAllister: It's an hour and a half drive from the strip, plus a plant-based fast food joint.
- 0:55Sean McAllister: We have good tips coming up.
- 0:57Dayna Roselli: Ooh, all that and more this week on Vegas Revealed.
- 1:02Dayna Roselli: But first, today's podcast is sponsored by Vegas Near Me.
- 1:06Dayna Roselli: It's a free app and it has everything fun to do and see in Las Vegas with some really useful features.
- 1:13Dayna Roselli: In fact, it's taken six years and a team of more than 40 people around the world to develop Vegas Near Me.
- 1:19Sean McAllister: Yeah, the app is packed with new technology and is in the beta phase right now.
- 1:24Sean McAllister: But because you listen to Vegas Revealed, we want to give you an exclusive opportunity to be among the first people on this planet to download it, play with it, and test it, and tell us what you think.
- 1:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you can mark your favorites, make a reservation, order an Uber, get directions, even book your flight and hotel all from within the app.
- 1:45Sean McAllister: Go to our show notes and hit the exclusive link.
- 1:48Sean McAllister: You'll get an email almost instantly and just follow the simple directions to download the beta.
- 1:54Sean McAllister: The app is free and it's going to stay free once it's up and running in full force.
- 2:01Sean McAllister: If it's fun to do or see, it's on Vegas near me.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: So let's get to it now and spin that wheel.
- 2:43Dayna Roselli: We sure do.
- 2:44Dayna Roselli: That was a good one.
- 2:44Sean McAllister: It sure was.
- 3:01Dayna Roselli: Ah, so awesome to see in such a short time, right?
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: It's been a few years since the Aces have been here, and already they have a title.
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: So it's a big deal to Las Vegas.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: They had a parade and a rally on the strip.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: You were there, Sean, for all the excitement.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: What was the vibe like?
- 3:17Sean McAllister: Let me tell you, we had to get through uh like log jam traffic in order to get down to the strip for this parade and rally.
- 3:29Sean McAllister: Fortunately, there were some little workarounds that that we found so that we could quickly avoid all the the craziness of traffic.
- 3:37Sean McAllister: But there were so many people.
- 3:40Sean McAllister: I had a feeling there would be a lot of people who would turn out for this rally.
- 3:46Sean McAllister: There were I would say thousands more than expected.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: Amazing.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we've gotten a couple comments on TikTok, like how many people were there?
- 3:55Dayna Roselli: Ten.
- 3:55Dayna Roselli: And it's like, no, there were hundreds and thousands.
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: So it was a huge turnout.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: You had said that when you were walking up to where the fountains were, you could see the crowds all gathered around the stage there, and it just looked jam-packed.
- 4:09Sean McAllister: It really was.
- 4:10Sean McAllister: So the Las Vegas strip headed southbound was shut off so that they could build a stage and have a rally location right in front of the Bellagio Fountains.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: Um, they had only planned on having the southbound lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard closed.
- 4:28Sean McAllister: But so many people ended up showing up for this rally that they, as it was underway, they had to shut off the northbound lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard too.
- 4:41Sean McAllister: So the strip was completely shut down there in front of uh Paris and Bellagio for this rally because so many people turned out and were so excited to be celebrating a WNBA championship.
- 4:56Dayna Roselli: Hey, congratulations.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: What a big deal.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: I was looking at some of the crowds at recent games because some people were putting it out on Twitter, and Mandalay Bay was rocking and packed.
- 5:09Dayna Roselli: And I love to see that.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: I actually shared a clip, and I remember people are saying, you know, it is great to see people out there supporting our women's basketball team.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: And, you know, they get a lot of big people to come to the games.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: We talked about Tom Brady went when he was in town.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: There's been many, many others that I've spotted going to Aces Games.
- 5:27Dayna Roselli: I mean, and it's becoming, you know, the place to be, and these are the the women to watch, and they brought home a title.
- 5:33Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 5:34Sean McAllister: And you know, we need to remember this started out by MGM Resorts bringing the team here to Las Vegas.
- 5:40Sean McAllister: I believe they bought the team to play over at uh Micelobaltra Arena in Mandalay Bay.
- 5:47Sean McAllister: Then once the Las Vegas Raiders came to town, the team's owner, Mark Davis, took a huge interest in the Las Vegas Aces and the WNBA and ended up buying the team.
- 6:03Sean McAllister: And so he now owns the team that just became world champions.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: And I was watching that at the Raiders game, they put up on the big screen when the women won the title.
- 6:14Dayna Roselli: Because it was going on at the same time.
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: And I was thinking, yeah, might as well, because the Raiders game wasn't going very well toward the end.
- 6:21Dayna Roselli: But yeah, so uh listen, congratulations to them.
- 6:25Dayna Roselli: Exciting stuff.
- 6:26Dayna Roselli: It just keeps getting better and better with sports here in Las Vegas.
- 6:29Dayna Roselli: And whether you follow sports or you don't, it's still fun when you go here in Las Vegas.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: We have a good time, and I think that's just part of what our city brings to it.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: So another huge, huge event that's coming to Las Vegas for the first time is Formula One.
- 6:46Dayna Roselli: And Sean, we finally have the dates of when this is taking place, and it's gonna be huge.
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: I'm glad to see that there are multiple days attached to this, so it's gonna be a big party.
- 6:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, from uh November 16th through the 18th of 2023.
- 7:03Sean McAllister: So a little more than a year from right now, Formula One is gonna be taking over Las Vegas.
- 7:09Sean McAllister: So if you want to be in town for an event that the entire world is going to be watching, you'd better book your hotel room, your condo, your Airbnb, your campground, wherever you need to stay in order to be here.
- 7:29Sean McAllister: Call a friend and rent their extra room.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 7:32Sean McAllister: Whatever, whatever you gotta do.
- 7:34Sean McAllister: This is going to be an insane event.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: And I didn't even realize how huge it is until people from around the world stopped me, called me, text me, like, hey, you guys are getting F1.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: I'm like, yeah, it's a big deal, right there.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: Like, it's huge.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: And so not only are we gonna have the actual Las Vegas Grand Prix, but obviously it's Vegas.
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: So they're planning like all sorts of entertainment, sporting events uh surrounding the race itself.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: So there's gonna be just tons of stuff going on, which is gonna make it just a big, huge party.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: Four days and nights, they're talking about of sports and entertainment programming, and that it's gonna set a new standard for all the F1 races.
- 8:24Sean McAllister: It really will.
- 8:25Sean McAllister: And they're planning on November 15th, the night before all the races begin, this star-studded opening ceremony that is, I imagine just going to be absolutely spectacular.
- 8:39Sean McAllister: It's going to unveil the the paddock, like the you know, the not a workshop, but the the garage for all the cars.
- 8:48Sean McAllister: Um and that's that site is being built on.
- 8:54Sean McAllister: Do you remember, Dana, years ago?
- 8:56Sean McAllister: There was a place, and I think you are going to remember, Ice Nightclub.
- 9:00Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah.
- 9:01Sean McAllister: At the corner of Harmon and Koval.
- 9:04Dayna Roselli: I think there was a reality show around that nightclub, too, or something that I used to watch.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: There might have been.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, anyway.
- 9:10Sean McAllister: I remember some crazy nights at that place.
- 9:12Sean McAllister: Uh, this was back in the early 2000s.
- 9:15Sean McAllister: Um, it was only open for a short period of time, but the building sat there up until I don't know, you a few months ago.
- 9:22Sean McAllister: And then we noticed it was knocked down, and the entire gosh, that entire block, that corner of Harmon and Koval is now being developed for these Formula One races that we're gonna be having here.
- 9:38Sean McAllister: A multi-year deal to have these races in Las Vegas.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there's gonna be so many exciting things to announce as it gets closer and closer.
- 9:46Dayna Roselli: But so this race is going on through the streets of Las Vegas and down the strip, right?
- 9:53Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah.
- 9:53Dayna Roselli: So I mean that alone, that visual.
- 9:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's a big loop.
- 9:58Sean McAllister: It's gonna be great.
- 9:59Sean McAllister: Including uh a home stretch up the Las Vegas Strip.
- 10:03Sean McAllister: So it will be spectacular.
- 10:06Sean McAllister: The all of the sites of Las Vegas will be included on this racetrack.
- 10:13Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be cool.
- 10:14Dayna Roselli: Listen, uh pre-registration ticketing has been open, apparently.
- 10:19Dayna Roselli: F1 Las Vegas GP, standing for Grand Prix.com, is where you want to go.
- 10:26Dayna Roselli: F1 Las Vegas GP.com uh to get information, ticket information, all that kind of thing.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: You know, good luck getting a ticket.
- 10:34Sean McAllister: And so we have talked about uh basketball, we've talked racing.
- 10:39Sean McAllister: How about a little football?
- 10:40Sean McAllister: Yes, because Dana, we went out to Illuminarium.
- 10:44Sean McAllister: This is a place that you've talked about here on Vegas Revealed before.
- 10:49Sean McAllister: Um, it's an attraction over at Area 15, that entire entertainment complex um that's just west of the I-15, the main highway that that goes right through Las Vegas.
- 11:02Sean McAllister: Uh, they're now doing they basically the concept there is that they have all these projections that go on the walls and ceilings and just transport you to a different place.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's like ceiling to or uh ceiling to floor, too, you know, like the whole thing.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: So when you go in, when I went to the one that was like kind of revolved around space, it was just like cool, you felt like you were in space, you know, everything was happening.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: So now they're using that for Monday night football.
- 11:27Dayna Roselli: What a great idea.
- 11:28Dayna Roselli: We went the floor was like a football field because it was projected on.
- 11:33Dayna Roselli: The games were all around you, multiple screens going on all around the area.
- 11:38Dayna Roselli: They brought in couches and chairs and food waitresses, cocktail waitresses, and you could order food.
- 11:45Dayna Roselli: It was awesome.
- 11:47Dayna Roselli: And then when you entered, there was like cornhole and like almost like a tailgating experience, right?
- 11:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, so the main viewing room is this giant space that you know you are walking into a football wonderland.
- 12:01Sean McAllister: But as you're getting there, you go through a smaller room, which isn't really that small.
- 12:05Sean McAllister: Um, and it's set up kind of like a tailgate area.
- 12:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was really cool.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: And the pictures and videos that we've put out there since we went, people were getting a good response.
- 12:16Dayna Roselli: People are like, this looks really fun.
- 12:17Dayna Roselli: I've even gotten private messages like, I want to go with you next time you go, and this and that.
- 12:21Dayna Roselli: Like, this looks awesome.
- 12:22Dayna Roselli: Like, it is a really cool spot, and they're gonna have Monday night football there every week.
- 12:27Dayna Roselli: So you can go hang out.
- 12:29Dayna Roselli: We watched the Bills game, which is, you know, we're both from that area.
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: So it was appropriate.
- 12:34Dayna Roselli: It was.
- 12:35Dayna Roselli: The Bills were playing.
- 12:36Sean McAllister: Um it was kind of a blowout game.
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was, right?
- 12:40Sean McAllister: Go Bills.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: Go Bills, they're doing really well.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: Um, so yeah, a really fun place.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: Illuminarium at Area 15, not too far from the strip.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: If you're a local, you know where it is, right there on Rancho, just to the west of the I-15.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: So go check it out for Monday Night Football, even if you're not into the game and who's playing, it's a fun experience.
- 12:58Sean McAllister: It is, it's a good environment.
- 12:59Dayna Roselli: So let's talk golf now.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: How about that?
- 13:01Sean McAllister: Oh my, who knew we were so sporty?
- 13:04Sean McAllister: Geez.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: Well, I just wanted to mention that you recently did a Vegas On piece, and that is at visitlosvegas.com.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: The show is called Vegas On.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: We do lots of pieces for them or correspondence for that show.
- 13:17Dayna Roselli: You just did something at a golf course, it's the only golf course on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 13:23Dayna Roselli: Am I saying that right?
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: That is correct.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: Yes, and we're talking about is it Bali High?
- 13:28Sean McAllister: Belly High.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 13:29Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 13:29Sean McAllister: So if you're wondering where it is in relation to the big resorts and everything, it is south of Mandalay Bay, kind of right next to right across the street from the Welcome to Las Vegas sign.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 13:42Sean McAllister: So instead of kind of turning left into the, if you're going south on Las Vegas Boulevard, instead of turning left into the parking lot for the Las Vegas sign, you turn right into the parking lot for Belly High Golf Club.
- 13:56Sean McAllister: And this is a championship level course.
- 13:58Sean McAllister: It is beautiful, so well maintained, it's so lush, it kind of feels like you're stepping into a jungle or something.
- 14:08Sean McAllister: But even though it's a championship level course, like you can go out there and play a serious round of golf, or if you're in town for a bachelor party or a fun work event, or you just have a bunch of buddies come into town to watch some sports.
- 14:26Sean McAllister: Bally high is the place to go because it is like if you want to turn your round of golf into a party, this is the place to do it.
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: I know you were telling me about the the girl that does the cartwheels and flips or something.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: What's that about?
- 14:39Sean McAllister: Yes, so they have parmates.
- 14:41Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 14:41Sean McAllister: Instead of caddies, they have parmates.
- 14:45Sean McAllister: They're these beautiful young women who will go around who know the course down to the blade of grass.
- 14:54Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 14:54Sean McAllister: So if you're looking for golf advice, they can give it to you.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: But they just uh keep the party atmosphere going is their job.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: They'll give you golf advice if that's what you want, but they'll give you the party vibe if that's what you want, also.
- 15:07Sean McAllister: And Ari, she uh has a past in circus performing.
- 15:13Sean McAllister: So she said whichever uh cart she's assigned to, she can do some circus tricks to distract the guys that you're playing.
- 15:22Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, that is guys or girls that you're playing.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 15:26Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 15:26Dayna Roselli: So now I'm backtracking in my mind because I want to make sure that I got this right.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: I don't want to speak incorrectly.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: We said it's the only golf course on the strip, but what about the win golf course?
- 15:36Sean McAllister: So that is well, it's separated from the strip by the win.
- 15:40Dayna Roselli: Right, you're right.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: Okay, so it's like in back of it.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: So this is actually like on the road.
- 15:45Dayna Roselli: Okay, got it.
- 15:46Dayna Roselli: But though that but that would be it anyway, if it were those two.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: If you were interested in playing golf, like right there near the strip.
- 15:52Sean McAllister: The closest proximity would be win and belly high.
- 15:55Sean McAllister: Bally high.
- 15:56Sean McAllister: Yeah, check it out.
- 15:57Sean McAllister: And they have a brand new uh sports bar that they just built over there.
- 16:01Sean McAllister: It's an indoor-outdoor space.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: They have an event lawn that has Can you see like the buildings of the strip at certain holes?
- 16:08Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 16:09Sean McAllister: Just about every hole.
- 16:10Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay, cool.
- 16:11Dayna Roselli: I wasn't sure if it was like so.
- 16:13Sean McAllister: You can get the view of the strip and the vibe of the strip all while you play.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: And if you want to watch Sean's behind the scenes look, you can go to uh visit losvegas.com and watch the latest episode of Vegas On.
- 16:25Sean McAllister: Okay, we've got sports covered.
- 16:27Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 16:27Sean McAllister: Man, and there was a lot of it.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: There was.
- 16:29Sean McAllister: Jeez.
- 16:30Sean McAllister: Uh, how about music?
- 16:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we're going to see Miranda Lambert this weekend.
- 16:35Dayna Roselli: And I say this weekend because we record a couple days before this podcast drops.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: So we're gonna talk more about that next week, but we're excited to see Miranda.
- 16:44Dayna Roselli: I have never seen her perform live.
- 16:46Dayna Roselli: Have you?
- 16:47Sean McAllister: Uh I may have seen her at a country award show at the ACM Awards.
- 16:54Dayna Roselli: Right, or something like that.
- 16:55Sean McAllister: But I've but it's I don't count that as like a yes, it's a live performance, but it's not like the artists doing their whole show.
- 17:04Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 17:04Sean McAllister: So I've no.
- 17:06unknown: Yes.
- 17:06Sean McAllister: Long answer to your question.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: No, I have not.
- 17:08Dayna Roselli: Okay, got it.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: I was like, well, if you have to try and think about it, then it wasn't memorable.
- 17:13Dayna Roselli: But anyway, yeah, we've gone to a lot of those different kinds of award shows, and it it, you're kind of half working, so it's hard to pay attention.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: Um, but yeah, Miranda's doing her first show on the strip at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: So um, we welcome Miranda to the strip.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: Everyone that I talk to about Miranda Lambert says, man, she puts on a show.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: So I'm excited to see what she's gonna do here in Las Vegas.
- 17:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, then the show is called Velvet Rodeo.
- 17:40Dayna Roselli: I like that.
- 17:40Sean McAllister: So if that's any indication of what we're what we're in for, it's gonna be good.
- 17:45Sean McAllister: And her music is so great too.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: So I'm already thinking about my outfit.
- 17:48Dayna Roselli: What am I gonna wear to the show?
- 17:50Sean McAllister: Is it gonna be velvet?
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: Well, maybe I have some velvet pants.
- 17:54Sean McAllister: Uh total side note uh we were walking through the nursery, like the garden center, and there was a plant called the Velvet Elvis.
- 18:02Dayna Roselli: Oh, really?
- 18:03Sean McAllister: Yeah, it made me think of you.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: And now that we're bringing up velvet again.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: I thought the nursery, I'm like, what do you mean?
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: Did you have kids?
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: Where in the last week?
- 18:10Sean McAllister: No.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: Okay, the garden nursery.
- 18:13Sean McAllister: The garden center.
- 18:14Dayna Roselli: Hey, listen, uh, don't roll your eyes at me, but I gotta do a quick plug for our friend Matt Goss and uh Las Vegas headliner for many, many years.
- 18:24Dayna Roselli: I told you in a past podcast that he went off to the UK.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: He lives in London now, and he's doing the show Strictly Come Dancing.
- 18:30Dayna Roselli: Huge show over there.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: And, you know, really what that's what dancing with the stars in the United States is kind of a spin-off of.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: They do this show, it's its 20th anniversary.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: Matt's on that as a contestant.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: So if you're in the UK and listening to us, please vote for Matt.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: Vote Matt Goss uh every weekend.
- 18:51Dayna Roselli: The show is live on Saturdays, and you can watch and vote.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: He says, I'm in it to win it, baby.
- 18:58Dayna Roselli: That's what he told me.
- 18:59Sean McAllister: I can't wait to see.
- 19:00Sean McAllister: I know that I know that he put in some hard work to get ready for the show, and uh he's already wearing some pretty flashy outfits and all the promo video and pictures that are being put out.
- 19:12Dayna Roselli: I know it's all flash there in the UK, right?
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: And Matt really puts it on, turns it on.
- 19:17Dayna Roselli: He's excited for the sequence and sparkle.
- 19:19Dayna Roselli: That's right up his alley.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: So we're excited to see Matt.
- 19:22Dayna Roselli: Uh the show kicks off this weekend.
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: They they actually pushed the opening show week after the Queen passed away because you know they just figured they had so many different kinds of events on TV and ever the country was in mourning that they would push the show one week.
- 19:36Dayna Roselli: So we get two shows this weekend.
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: So go, Matt, we'll keep you posted on on how he does.
- 19:43Sean McAllister: Uh moving into food, Mark Vettry is a chef that we've uh interviewed here on Vegas Revealed before.
- 19:50Sean McAllister: He's a Philly guy, but he has had Las Vegas connections for years.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: He has.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: And during the, I guess, pandemic, you know, when it was at its peak, he opened a at first pop-up restaurant at Red Rock because his restaurant over at the Palms had closed.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: The Palms hadn't reopened yet, they were selling it off, they didn't, you know, they didn't have new owners.
- 20:15Dayna Roselli: And then the restaurant at Red Rock is now permanent.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: And now we have found out, you know, since the Palms is open, that he is going to reopen his restaurant at the Palms.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: So now he will have two restaurants.
- 20:30Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 20:31Sean McAllister: And Mark Vetri is such a great guy.
- 20:34Sean McAllister: And yeah, Vetri Cucina is returning to the 56th floor of the Palms.
- 20:41Sean McAllister: It is one of the best dining rooms in all of Las Vegas.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: It is gorgeous, gorgeous views.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: We always say this about the palms.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: Remember, it may be off the strip, but that gives you a view of the strip.
- 20:55Sean McAllister: It's off the strip and actually above the strip, elevation-wise.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: Uh-huh.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: It's it's great.
- 21:01Dayna Roselli: Uh, his food is fantastic.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: The restaurant at Red Rock is called Asteria Fiorella.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: That's also delicious.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: And vetery cucina is just as good.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: I've eaten there once.
- 21:15Dayna Roselli: I always wanted to get back.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: I'm excited to get back.
- 21:18Dayna Roselli: It's gonna open November 1st.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: And apparently featuring only 75 seats.
- 21:25Dayna Roselli: So it's super intimate, which I think is kind of cool.
- 21:28Sean McAllister: So that's something to keep in mind if you're wanting to make uh Vetricucina a part of your Vegas trip, a part of your you know, night out, plan ahead because with only 75 seats, it's gonna be booked up and it makes it a super exclusive spot.
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 21:49Dayna Roselli: It's a great, great view.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: Um check it out.
- 21:52Dayna Roselli: We're excited that Mark's opening that restaurant there at the Palms and and the Palms has you know a lot of things going on.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: The the Pearl At the Palms is now reopened, by the way.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: Great concert venue.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: So they keep opening things little by little over there.
- 22:07Dayna Roselli: Um, since they had their grand opening, and we had, you know, talked to the general manager and she said, Listen, we want to just get the doors open, and we're going to be opening some of your favorite spots again, little by little, and they've done exactly that.
- 22:22Sean McAllister: They certainly have.
- 22:23Sean McAllister: I've been back over there several times, gone to see movies at the movie theater there, gone to play slots, gone for events.
- 22:30Sean McAllister: You went to Frankie Marino's show?
- 22:31Sean McAllister: I went to Frankie Marino's show at Chaos, the nightclub over there.
- 22:37Sean McAllister: Um, so it's a it's great.
- 22:39Sean McAllister: It's a hopping spot.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: One spot we got to get back to is the ghost bar to see what is it, midnight sky?
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: Yes, yeah.
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: She's always changing things sky after dark, midnight sky, one of those.
- 22:49Dayna Roselli: Um, and we know we need to go see what sky's doing over there.
- 22:52Dayna Roselli: I'm hearing nothing but great things.
- 22:54Dayna Roselli: We just need to kind of pencil that in.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: Hey, another restaurant coming to the strip.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: Uh, this time we're talking about the strip and the forum shops.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: We told you about RPM that opened there recently, a great Italian restaurant by uh Juliana Rancic and Bill Rancic.
- 23:09Dayna Roselli: And now a Mexican restaurant is coming to Forum Shops, and it's gonna be located in the spot that used to hold Border Grill.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: So I wondered what was gonna happen with this.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: And this is we got a lot of uh cocinas.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: This is a cocina, that was a cucina.
- 23:26Dayna Roselli: Sol Mexican cocina is opening in that spot, and it's being opened by Experience Restaurant Group, which is from Southern California.
- 23:36Dayna Roselli: They have other popular restaurants, and so now they're bringing one inside the forum shops, and it seems like it's gonna be really cool.
- 23:44Sean McAllister: Very cool.
- 23:44Sean McAllister: And if you're familiar with the forum shops, you can uh look for this new dining spot uh on level one by that big spiral escalator that goes up.
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, and and then they're categorizing it as polished, casual, and fine dining Mexican.
- 24:01Dayna Roselli: Oh okay, so yeah, it'll be really, really good.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: I was looking at some of the food.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: They sent us some pictures.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: Go to our Instagram and our Twitter.
- 24:09Dayna Roselli: We put some of the pictures up of the food and what the outside and inside of the restaurant will look like.
- 24:14Dayna Roselli: They say it's coming this fall in 2022.
- 24:18Dayna Roselli: They just don't have a target specific date just yet, but we'll keep you posted.
- 24:21Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 24:22Sean McAllister: Uh, and coming up next week here on Vegas Revealed, um, we have a bit of a taste test.
- 24:29Sean McAllister: We do.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: Well, I meant to bring it over today and I forgot, but I have a big chilled can of Vegas Vicky beer in my fridge.
- 24:38Sean McAllister: Is it a blonde ale?
- 24:40Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 24:41Dayna Roselli: Uh Vegas Vicky, we all know who she is, right?
- 24:44Dayna Roselli: The neon sign that's located in Circa now in downtown Las Vegas.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: Well, Circa debuted a new beer exclusive to the property.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: It's the Vegas Vicky beer.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: They sent me a can and they keep tweeting me, like, how do you like it?
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: I said, I don't day drink, I need it, but I wanted to share it with you, and I wanted to hold on to it so that we could kind of taste test it on the podcast.
- 25:06Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: Today I had to go do a sports radio show across town, and then I was coming here to do the podcast.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: So I was like, do I bring it like a cooler?
- 25:14Dayna Roselli: So anyway, I forgot to bring it.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: So we're gonna do it next week.
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: You and I are gonna taste test and do the podcast with a glass of beer in front of us, and we're gonna let you know what it tastes like and then let you know where you can get it.
- 25:28Sean McAllister: I mean, don't twist my arm.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 25:30Sean McAllister: We could do the podcast every week with a glass of beer in front of us.
- 25:33Sean McAllister: I mean we could.
- 25:35Sean McAllister: This could be a new thing.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: Well, I thought I looked at it and I thought I can't drink this all in one sitting, but Sean is definitely uh up for the game.
- 25:43Dayna Roselli: So anyway, next week, uh FYI will be taste testing Vicky Beer.
- 25:48Sean McAllister: Let's get to our tips.
- 25:52Sean McAllister: All right, Dana.
- 25:53Sean McAllister: The first tip that I have is um really mainly because of uh something that we saw uh driving to a recent uh video shoot that we were in charge of.
- 26:08Sean McAllister: And as we were driving by, I was like, oh my gosh, that looks really cool.
- 26:13Sean McAllister: Uh it's a fast food restaurant that serves all plant-based food, which I thought was a really cool concept.
- 26:24Sean McAllister: It's called Plant Power.
- 26:27Sean McAllister: Now, if you want to go check it out, it is a little bit north of the Las Vegas Strip.
- 26:34Sean McAllister: If you drive north on the I-15 freeway, um, you get off at Craig Road, and that's where you're gonna see the giant burger on top of the restaurant.
- 26:45Sean McAllister: But their menu, Dana, is just like what you would expect from any other fast food restaurant.
- 26:51Sean McAllister: They have a full lineup of uh breakfast sandwiches, croissants, uh, I was gonna say McMuffin, but um English muffin sandwiches.
- 27:01Sean McAllister: That's what I was trying to go for.
- 27:03Sean McAllister: Um a whole assortment of things.
- 27:06Sean McAllister: And then you go into their burgers, their specialty sandwiches, um, you know, it's like everything you would expect from a fast food restaurant, but it's all plant-based.
- 27:16Dayna Roselli: Okay, yeah, because plant-based is so popular right now, everyone's kind of into it.
- 27:21Dayna Roselli: Um, so I think it's cool that they have like a fast food place because we don't always have time to go in and sit and order.
- 27:26Dayna Roselli: So I love that.
- 27:27Dayna Roselli: So it's called what is it called?
- 27:29Dayna Roselli: Plant power, right?
- 27:30Sean McAllister: It's called Plant Power.
- 27:32Sean McAllister: It's up on uh Craig Road and the I-15.
- 27:35Sean McAllister: Um just something cool that we saw, wanted to bring it to your attention.
- 27:39Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 27:39Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: And just as we sit here and talk about tips, it's so funny.
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: Other tips roll in my head about all sorts of stuff.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: Uh we have so much going on all the time.
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: But I wanted to talk about this.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: This is something cool that I follow on Instagram, and I thought I have never done it.
- 27:54Dayna Roselli: Um, and I bet you anything, most people listening to this podcast didn't know it existed.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: It's in Bunkerville, Nevada.
- 28:00Dayna Roselli: I looked it up.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: We're sitting right now near the strip.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: So I looked it up and it said it's an hour and 25-minute drive.
- 28:07Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 28:07Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 28:07Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: So it's a camel safari.
- 28:11Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 28:11Dayna Roselli: You can ride, and apparently, it's been about two and a half years since you've been able to ride the camels, but the camel rides are back.
- 28:18Dayna Roselli: So you can ride a camel, Sean, just outside of Las Vegas, and it's unreal to see the videos of these camels chilling.
- 28:32Dayna Roselli: Uh well, they look like happy camels, too.
- 28:35Dayna Roselli: Well, we are in the desert, it's not that odd, I guess, right?
- 28:39Sean McAllister: I mean, this is their jam.
- 28:40Dayna Roselli: But it I don't know why it cracks me up because it's like, here we are, like vivo Las Vegas, and then we're like, hey, ride this this camel.
- 28:47Dayna Roselli: But anyway, the camel rides are back.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: It's a big deal, okay?
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: These guys are super excited over there at uh the camel safari, and they also got a brand new tram for the safaris.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: So they've got a new little kind of tram bus that drives you around.
- 29:04Dayna Roselli: So you can go around, it's it's a zoo basically, and they'll take you on the tram to look at the different camels and this and that.
- 29:10Dayna Roselli: But you can also ride a camel.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: And every hump day, they have a great post on Instagram.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: I bet they do.
- 29:17Dayna Roselli: That says happy hump day with the camels.
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: Anyway, it's super cute.
- 29:21Dayna Roselli: If you want to follow them on Instagram, it's camels.
- 29:24Dayna Roselli: No, it's sorry, it's camel safari Las Vegas.
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: And they are a camel safari and it's a ZAA accredited zoo, if that makes you feel better.
- 29:37Sean McAllister: I totally want to go ride a camel now.
- 29:40Sean McAllister: Maybe we could pitch to them uh that they do a weekly podcast.
- 29:44Sean McAllister: Uh, maybe it drops every Wednesday called Between the Humps.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 29:49Sean McAllister: They could record it while they're riding.
- 29:51Sean McAllister: If they do interviews, they could invite their interview person to sit up on a camel, chat while they ride.
- 29:58Sean McAllister: Between the humps.
- 29:59Sean McAllister: It's a great idea.
- 30:00Dayna Roselli: So if you live in Las Vegas, go check out the camels for tourists that come into town and visit Las Vegas.
- 30:06Dayna Roselli: I know sometimes they look for things that are a little bit off the beaten path.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: So this could be something.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: In fact, I was just chatting with one of our listeners, and he's in Germany, he's coming in for three weeks.
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: So he's got, you know, a lot of time to fill.
- 30:18Dayna Roselli: So maybe he wants to go ride the camels.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna send him a note.
- 30:20Sean McAllister: Well, I don't think they have camels in Germany, do they?
- 30:22Sean McAllister: I mean, not like native camels.
- 30:24Dayna Roselli: Well, that's the thing.
- 30:25Dayna Roselli: It would be really unique for him, right?
- 30:26Sean McAllister: I guess we don't have native camels to the Las Vegas desert either.
- 30:30Dayna Roselli: No.
- 30:31Sean McAllister: Those legendary Mojave camels.
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: Hey, this isn't really a tip, but next week, also, we are going to fill you in on a new show that's coming to the win.
- 30:42Dayna Roselli: It's been very hush-hush over there at the win since La Rev left.
- 30:47Dayna Roselli: Apparently, they've redone the theater, and we are gonna find out some details from the producers.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: We're gonna have a little breakfast chat with them on the win property and find out more about what is coming in place of that.
- 31:02Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's this has been a very closely guarded secret.
- 31:08Sean McAllister: A lot of people are involved, performers and people behind the scenes, and people have been very tight-lipped around town about what exactly this show encompasses.
- 31:19Sean McAllister: So it's gonna be fun to get some details and be able to share that.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I'm really curious.
- 31:24Dayna Roselli: Um, I just walked by that yesterday.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: I was at the win.
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: I went to the Earth Cafe to meet a friend from out of town, which also I recommend.
- 31:30Dayna Roselli: Maybe we'll get into that in another tip.
- 31:32Dayna Roselli: There's so much to talk about all the time.
- 31:33Dayna Roselli: It's like literally endless.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: Um, Las Vegas is just always so much fun.
- 31:38Dayna Roselli: Anyway, I walked by there and I thought, I wonder what's gonna go in that theater.
- 31:42Dayna Roselli: So, and then boom, an email came and said, Hey, want to have breakfast with the producers?
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: And we're like, we're in.
- 31:46Sean McAllister: Yep, we got it.
- 31:47Sean McAllister: So um, you can expect that in the coming weeks here on Vegas Revealed.
- 31:53Sean McAllister: But that does it for episode 136.
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: Sure does.
- 31:56Dayna Roselli: We will see you for, well, you won't see us, but we will talk to you for episode 137.
- 32:02Dayna Roselli: Hey, FYI, download the Vegas Near Me app with the link in our show notes.
- 32:09Dayna Roselli: Go to the show notes and download the app.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: Great information in there.
- 32:13Dayna Roselli: In fact, we had someone write us asking us about escape rooms, and I sent them back the link and I said, download this because in Vegas Near Me, in the app, they have a full list of all the escape rooms around Las Vegas.
- 32:25Dayna Roselli: And we'll do a little bit more on escape rooms in a future episode.
- 32:28Sean McAllister: Yeah, if it's fun to do or see, you're gonna find it on Vegas Near Me.
- 32:33Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: Have a great week, everyone.
