- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Let's do a little recap from the weekend.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: A national anthem player's trumpet stopped working at a Diamondbacks game.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: So how do you fix that?
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: A lot of times the crowd will just start singing.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they'll kind of pick it up.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: He actually picked up the mic to pick it up too.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: You can hear it kind of go.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's going.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: Now, pause right there for a minute.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: But before we listen to him, because this has made it all over the news.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: I watched it like three times yesterday.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Scott loves the trumpet.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Well, let me ask that question.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: I'm not an instrument player.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, I've been known to handle a flute well, but that's here nor there.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Years of practice.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: You gotta see me with a trombone.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: But okay, in all seriousness, maybe there's somebody on their way to school that's in band.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Or, you know, you could use the audio message.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: What causes the trumpet to die?
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, other than running out of air.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Too much spit.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Well, that's what I was gonna ask.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: And I played the trumpet for one year.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, you played the trump.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: You barely played the trumpet.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: I know I wasn't good at it.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: My lips tingled too much.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: I don't know why.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: I was thinking the same thing.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Why would it be?
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Did it get overly spitty?
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Did I because I don't know enough about that?
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: We got the spit valve.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Ew.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: By the way, the grossest thing.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: If you play an instrument with a spit valve, the floors of every single high school, woof.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Great name for an intern in radio.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: Spit valve.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Come here, please.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Horrible.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Jordan, we're gonna change his name to Spit Valve.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Poor guy.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Especially if he was like a real spitty kind of guy.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: But at any rate, can someone explain to me that played the trumpet what would cause that to die other than running out of air?
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Now, carry on.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: This is he's just about to pick up the mic.
- 1:56unknown: Damn!
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: That dude can sing.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: And then it, I'll tell you, it when he finished off, it was amazing.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, I love that.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: It's incredible.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Okay, another thing that happened over the weekend.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: I saw this on my next door app, and I wanted to ask you guys about this.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: So if this is your thing, uh, I hopefully can find a solution for you, but I don't know who you are.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Hello, neighbors.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Need advice.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Are you are you on next door or no?
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think I am.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: So uh it says gave a contractor.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: I kind of hate it sometimes, except for when this happens.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Gave a contractor$5,500 as a down payment.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: That's a lot of money.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for a project to buy raw materials, as he suggested on here we go, August 4th.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: He did not start the project at all.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Some story about family issues.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Now he is making us beg to return our money.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Very stressful, as we need to make some other payments.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: What can be done in this case to get the money back?
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: What is the answer on this?
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Because my parents have been in the exact same situation, too.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, so there's a couple things.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: There are, and I will not mention names.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: There's a couple well-known contractors in the area that have a reputation.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, you mean scam artists?
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Yes, they have a reputation for this.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: One of them in particular is notorious for oh, Allie has a job.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'm gonna need$5,500, but then they actually put that towards my job because I did it next.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: So they're constantly robbing Peter to pay Paul.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: There are also contractors that just up and leave.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Here is I I mean, I'm not a legal expert.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: You'd have to get a hold of a lawyer, but here's what I would if if you have paperwork on it, and I hope you the only person I don't do paperwork with is actually my contractor because we know him so damn well.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, and I know his brother, and I'd be like, uh, excuse me.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: But uh I'll come shank you if you don't take care of it.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: So you and I have built a relationship with a contractor.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Actually, I know a couple contractors.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: I know our buddy Joe, who we chat with every we bump into him once in a while.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: So I've been I've seen the worst.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: I kind of say, and we know the best.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: I and we we know the best.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Um I'm I'm the exception to the rule.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: You're the exception of the rule.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: We don't have to necessarily do paperwork with these guys because we've done he did my kitchen for God's sake.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Well, he and yeah, and he probably does do paperwork for other people.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, he does.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: I know he does because he tells me about it.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: He goes, I gotta go home and work till like two in the morning on paperwork and all these quotes and stuff like that.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Um, so I would say the only thing you could do is you have to go, you either have to lawyer up, which unfortunately costs more money.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Or you might be able to just go down to the courthouse.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Now I will tell I'm gonna stop you right here because I think I know what you're gonna say.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: Somebody commented underneath this post and they said it was too large for small claims corps.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Okay, then why can't you call the police department and say, I think this is theft?
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: That's okay, that's the answer I'm wondering.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Because if you if you're in corning, couldn't you go to the police department and get and say, Look, this is more than enough time.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Like this isn't two weeks.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: This was August 4th till now.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Do you think they're gonna say, Do you have it in writing?
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: And that's the well that that's number one.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: If you've got it in writing, if you've got something in writing, yeah, because here's the other problem, too.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: You know what this contractor's gonna do?
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you right now, this is a scam artist waiting, wait.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: They're gonna come back to you and they're gonna say, Okay, let's say it's a roof.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, so it was originally the original job was ten thousand dollars.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: You gave me 5,500.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Well, you know what?
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: With the price of diesel and everything going up, unfortunately the price is gonna be more now, so you're gonna end up paying more.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: I would think start with the cops, unless you got five or six good brothers to roll with and go find this guy in a job and knock the ladder out from underneath them.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: See, the mafia isn't all bad.
