- 0:34Take two. So I'm just reading my newspaper
- 0:39pictures of Cindy Crawford inside Bing, Bong, whatever.
- 0:46Wonder who that could be. I wonder if it's mr.
- 0:48Blobby yeah. Well, well well if it isn't too
- 0:54forward, welcome back to a hamster with a blunt penknife.
- 1:02I've heard you in the year 2030, you know, you're still throwing
- 1:07podcasts. What do you serious?
- 1:16Why? Dude, serious.
- 1:17Trauma, I've decided to podcast. I didn't fit it.
- 1:20Fun to feel Island. Welcome to this festive Edition.
- 1:29Oh perhaps the with a blunt penknife featuring me no weapons
- 1:34and jump her away. Hello Chum help you today?
- 1:40Well, I'm very excited. You know, this episode is called
- 1:43all of the doctors and also my wonderful friends or be so
- 1:48fucking list jumper. It's me, Joe Ford, in case you
- 1:55hadn't guessed at, who am I here with?
- 1:58I'm Marc By Marc. Hello, how are you?
- 2:01I'm very well thank you. Before we start, I can I ask a
- 2:04question, please about your own podcast to watch who, yes, which
- 2:08I may I say, I listened to your season 15 duska Ceremony this
- 2:13week, when I was on a night shift, absolutely pissed my
- 2:16pants laughing. And now, I say it's Sarah.
- 2:18Choose opinion of the G. Williams era is far superior to
- 2:22your own. Surprising.
- 2:23Yes. Yes.
- 2:25He even loved invisible enemy. I wasn't very kind on the ground
- 2:29Williams time. Do you know which really wasn't
- 2:32you are? No, no.
- 2:37What? Oh, well, uh, sorry if you have
- 2:40to get this are you were making a point there?
- 2:43Well, I was going to say, which is surprising because this era
- 2:48the dimensions in time I'm absolutely very Enthusiastic
- 2:53about. So, you know, ask you to say,
- 2:55sorry for me for a second. Yeah, hero.
- 2:58Say, era era. What'd you say era?
- 3:01Era, era, era, Quark, Quark Quark.
- 3:05Yeah, so, we're here today. Why we're here today?
- 3:08Well, torch Dimensions In Time, a fantastic Doctor Who
- 3:11Adventure. Okay, well, I'm gonna ask you a
- 3:13question immediately. Straight off the bat and that
- 3:15is. Do you recall first watching
- 3:19damages in time? Because I think this would have
- 3:21been your first ever. It was original Doctor Who had
- 3:25just brand new Doctor Who and How did you find it all?
- 3:28I loved it. I'm I didn't do love it.
- 3:30I still love it, maybe that's why I do.
- 3:33Well, it's got all of those doctors and companions.
- 3:35I didn't know anything about EastEnders.
- 3:37So that sort of confused me. And this was actually some of
- 3:40the first time that I'd seen, you know, these doctors these
- 3:44Companions and I didn't even know who some of them were.
- 3:48So, like, Sarah Sutton, for example, this woman walking
- 3:51around in the waist. Code.
- 3:53Nine years watching this. Well, I thought you was from
- 3:56EastEnders. I didn't know him.
- 3:59I've never seen an episode. I've never seen a Victoria, so I
- 4:03didn't know who that woman was with Jon Pertwee on the Cutty
- 4:06Sark. I thought she was from
- 4:07EastEnders, so it was written. It was a little bit confusing.
- 4:10When I first watched it, Fisherman's Net around her neck
- 4:13who has Toria. That's all.
- 4:15We're waiting torian shawl. Who was that terrible woman?
- 4:22First on transmission, which you have the time.
- 4:26I don't think it really impacted me though.
- 4:28At the time, I got to the first thing, I really resonating
- 4:30originally apart from season, 26 is the TV movie.
- 4:35Well, this was on the front of the radio times Doctor Who in 3D
- 4:38with that pitcher Jon Pertwee little bit.
- 4:40What's up? But it was pretty and Tom Baker.
- 4:46Obviously, I knew who he was and seen some of his episodes so it
- 4:48was brand new and it was 3D TV as well.
- 4:51Very exciting. So they made a massive push
- 4:54about about that, didn't they? There's a trailer out there of
- 4:57some extra coral, color background report will go about
- 4:59this. Fantastic sort of.
- 5:01Yes, if you wear your fabulous, specs was missing it with your
- 5:05knife and told her as well. Well, he had the executive
- 5:07version and they did it all. There's nothing on Tomorrow's
- 5:11World about it. I mean, it was a gimmick for
- 5:12children need and I feel like it was an even bigger thing than it
- 5:16is now, like, coming to relieve children need, I felt like
- 5:19everybody. Well, I mean maybe it is more as
- 5:21a child because just, you know, schools Get involved in
- 5:23everything, not so much. Now I've not watched it for
- 5:25years and years, but it did seem that it was event television in
- 5:28a way back. Then I think this was like the
- 5:31peak of a is to get 100 million. Now that's the thing.
- 5:33I don't get about 17 million. Yeah.
- 5:36It's it's not what it was but I feel like everything everybody
- 5:41was you know? But everybody was watching it
- 5:43and obviously knows house party was a huge thing at the time.
- 5:47Yep this Doctor Who Adventure. Yeah.
- 5:50So over 13 Uncle Billy's. Yeah.
- 5:53It's one of the biggest audiences of any Doctor Who
- 5:55story dimensions in time and it was part one on the Friday night
- 5:58as part of children in need. And then part two was Saturday
- 6:00night, it's part of Noel's house party written by John
- 6:04nathan-turner. Yep.
- 6:05And Dave Roden. Yes, he was.
- 6:10I think, a young and upcoming right of the John nathan-turner
- 6:13was friends with and just sort of chatted to and got, it's not
- 6:16the guy who plays Syrian is either Romney's assistance, some
- 6:19west of his fuck. A boy, who loves Sam was, I'm a
- 6:23huge sand West, fantasies fuckable.
- 6:34Yeah, he's great and all creatures.
- 6:36Great and small currently on Channel 5.
- 6:38Obviously this isn't the only Jonathan turnout bit of
- 6:41scripting in Doctor. Who is it?
- 6:44Well she said scripted five minutes of mysterious planet.
- 6:47I think yet I did he yeah really which five minutes?
- 6:51No he says the period T things and I swear I will never Ever
- 6:56ever, tell you which five minutes at wolves.
- 6:59The worst probably didn't. He also wouldn't have scripted.
- 7:03The, the links on the sky BSB week Doctor Who weekend, I'm
- 7:08sure. Crab-like creature was hideous.
- 7:13Things like that? Yes, this is the entrance to the
- 7:16colony was decidedly futuristic. What does that even mean?
- 7:21I mean, they had a challenge a bit.
- 7:23It's a bit like the five doctors isn't it?
- 7:25But it's five. Just like ramped up to a
- 7:29million. Isn't it in the way that they
- 7:32don't know who's available? It was literally like on the day
- 7:35who is available. So you it's going to be a script
- 7:38that's going to need to have that flexibility.
- 7:39And it doesn't really matter. Who's in what see and I know
- 7:43people are like it's terrible. Well, it's not kind of, I just
- 7:47think it's a great bit of fun and it doesn't matter where this
- 7:50appears that the house tablets and Walkers handbooks, they say,
- 7:53this is a dreadful travesty that Doesn't belong in Doctor Who
- 7:57Kennard. I give it a 0 out of 10.
- 7:59Well yeah but it's not something I don't think of it as Cannon.
- 8:01She's such a doctor who fan sometimes.
- 8:05I'm a bit of a fun bypass you know like like they just can't
- 8:09appreciate something. That's just a lot of fun and you
- 8:10know what? I love this and we'll watch this
- 8:14again and again but I think in terms of the comic relief curse
- 8:18of fatal death, yes death. Yeah I don't find that funny at
- 8:23all and I feel like fans really love that and see the The humor
- 8:26in that and because I don't know.
- 8:28It's got bigger production values.
- 8:29It's just as silly as dimensions in time but I think people put
- 8:33that up on a pedestal. I think curse of fatal death is
- 8:35amazing. I got official, you know, video
- 8:37release and everything. I don't I can't stand that.
- 8:40I don't think it's funny at all. I do not find the human, any of
- 8:43it by love. This looks like this even more
- 8:45fear of Doctor Who. Yeah.
- 8:49Well, then you should lock the curse of fatal.
- 8:50Death is a save humor. It's not a mask to keep falls
- 8:53down up trial. That's the come back up again.
- 8:56I was more, I'm more embarrassed as a fan of coastal, fatal death
- 8:59and dimensions in time. Wow, that's a hell of a guy
- 9:04shouldn't because this is and it's got these and you just want
- 9:09to see your favorite characters having to run around on screen,
- 9:12you see all these different monsters and it's just fun.
- 9:15It doesn't make any sense. It doesn't matter.
- 9:16Do you think because the doctor turns up at crinkly, Bottom at
- 9:19the beginning. Ha ha ha Edmonds canonical. 05
- 9:41probably was just so, so many times, I had two glasses at the
- 9:44time, and I just watched it again and again, and again, and
- 9:46it was just fun, you know, your secret.
- 9:49That you wish this was like five times.
- 9:51The length are my God. Absolutely, what can we watch
- 9:55that season to the planet, a Jarvis?
- 9:58Yeah, reconstruction recently added bonus to watch it for like
- 10:0110 minutes because it was so horrendous.
- 10:03There is an Ian Levine version of this out there.
- 10:05Well, there's a lot of stuff that was cut out and I would, I
- 10:07would absolutely love to see that like, half an hour version
- 10:10of it, just to see all the stuff they cut out.
- 10:14Because I think they did edit quite a lot out and because they
- 10:16they filled with the Dalek and they couldn't use the Daleks
- 10:18hurry. Now, You want to let?
- 10:20So there's a whole bit, you know, can I say when we went to
- 10:23that neighbors event? Recently, you know.
- 10:26Yeah. What's, I'm Charlotte Shetty
- 10:30Charlotte Chimes fellows. Yeah, Grimes.
- 10:32Yeah, I know what? Yes, yes, it's a picture of him
- 10:45on Facebook. Well, nowadays, what?
- 10:50I mean he has been on, don't Dimensions In Time on set so
- 10:53that he does that is praiseworthy I suppose.
- 10:56But we come here to praise this and not bury it because it gives
- 11:01us. So, and before we go in, I think
- 11:04it's not long as it did, in fact, go to London and film
- 11:14dimensions in time a few little bits around the Cutty Sark,
- 11:18which is change. And so much the stuff we did
- 11:20round the Greenwich Meridian in Greenwich Meridian.
- 11:24I mean, that still recognizable. So I find a good hard to keep up
- 11:27with you these days. Dr. Cool.
- 11:30Oh, say goodbye. Doctors alas, I must find my
- 11:37rocket. Sorry.
- 11:39Well, that's the thing about this.
- 11:40It's so quotable. Every single line you can just
- 11:43say the one line. And you know what it's from.
- 11:45I don't think there's any other script that I've watched.
- 11:49That has every single liners exact quote.
- 11:52Yeah. But you think it's a quote ball
- 11:54in a good way or an embarrassing way.
- 11:58And a fun way to do, think it's a bit of an Omission that
- 12:00dot-coms more in this. Well again, it was who was
- 12:03available on the day, they're filming EastEnders.
- 12:06What sets available, which actors are available.
- 12:09So yeah, it's right over his companions, well, that's the
- 12:16thing. Yeah, and seen them in like, I
- 12:18don't No, maybe that's first time I saw William.
- 12:20Hartnell's a floating head fast. I mean, I didn't know it's a
- 12:25little tune, the Ronnie before live, their dream, diary I think
- 12:30maybe by then, so that had been on shown on.
- 12:34So, I knew who that was and had I seen Ace.
- 12:38Not sure, but it's just a great fun.
- 12:44And I think we should go into it a lot where a lot of fun making
- 12:46it, didn't we? Yeah, that's it.
- 12:48Yeah. Well, I'm going to say that I
- 12:50think in terms of production value, like all that stuff,
- 12:54where they're zooming around the Greenwich Meridian that
- 12:56helicopter that comes down. So you have a bit of production
- 13:00value to it has to, that's part of, I think there is a clip on
- 13:04YouTube, of Tomorrow's World explaining how the 3D process.
- 13:06Well, they've got a kid to carry, you've got to have
- 13:09something in the foreground with the background moving.
- 13:12So the basically the camera has to go in around, in circles it
- 13:15has to keep moving. Something is G2 going round.
- 13:21There is a square and the camera is constantly zooming around the
- 13:24markets, but then you have the market stalls and you have all
- 13:26the extras walk in front and the Stalls.
- 13:29And it's constantly moving, it's either going round them, you
- 13:32know, like the Greenwich Meridian, where it's the doctor
- 13:34and Lena and it's going round and round, it has to keep
- 13:37moving. And you have to have them moving
- 13:40in the background with these stalls and all the extras.
- 13:42I think that's why there's so many extras are monsters around.
- 13:44It's that movement that inspired me actually, I love that, I love
- 13:48that. Excuse me, mostly, it was very
- 13:51happy. You expect of sorry, sorry to
- 13:53interrupt but I don't you stop my story.
- 13:55Now let's go, that's the style that I filmed stuff with uni and
- 14:06think that keep that movement and get that in like kind of a
- 14:11no come into my world video where it's like a, it's a
- 14:14constant movement around you, making us direct videos, link
- 14:17between your move. Movies and Kylie Minogue's
- 14:20music. No dimension in time and kind of
- 14:22relax music video. It's a process where there's
- 14:24where these things done in one shot and that happens.
- 14:26A lot of music videos. This is almost that style, so I
- 14:30love that kind of style and that was what I did that a lot.
- 14:33When I was like, filming things, myself, like going around trees
- 14:37and people movement, the movement, so Steadicam.
- 14:40Haven't seen yourself box, amateur videos.
- 14:49Whoa, It's choke it down a collar but I Prosecco is
- 14:55Christmas, folks. Sorry, we are bit Mary but it's
- 14:57Christmas. I haven't seen some of your
- 15:01avatar. I'm just saying occasionally I
- 15:07haven't god. Well it's all from dimensions in
- 15:11time, you know, you do some striking lighting and you know
- 15:16your music video. Crazy, Taxi Driver.
- 15:18Anyway, let's change this up to now.
- 15:20What were you going to say? Sorry, you be embarrassed by
- 15:22these videos, you know, there's a lot of skill involved.
- 15:25Obviously I say, let's watch the thing.
- 15:36So I've just got sweet in my mouth.
- 15:39It is Christmas. Everybody watching on YouTube.
- 15:45I've got a fucking phone turned off for a key Gap.
- 15:48It this is our most aperture and decision yet.
- 15:52So we're watching on YouTube and we're watching from Noel
- 15:56Edmonds, answering the door to Jon Pertwee onwards right along
- 16:03with us. Wow, wow.
- 16:05Wow. I've never gone back this far in
- 16:07time before a play. Come on.
- 16:10All right. Okay, three, two, one.
- 16:14Hey, There we go. Right?
- 16:17So now it was very this fabulous free these specs look.
- 16:20He's sure. It's fine.
- 16:22Orange, isn't it? And absolutely terrified.
- 16:24So you got the 3D specs and that they always had a gimmick for
- 16:27these things because it was smellavision.
- 16:28I think of the year, after we look at what a good sniff, you
- 16:32watch blue Peter. And she and they were like, oh,
- 16:34we're here in the rainforest here and you'd scratch and smell
- 16:37the plant. It does look just like that
- 16:38short look. The Tardis is outside.
- 16:40Just look at our lash it is and of course all the dogs.
- 16:46He was a doctor in the 90s. Yeah, exactly.
- 16:49And he died his got to, as well at neon.
- 16:51This has it. If you see that, have you seen
- 16:53some part was got so you can use that as well.
- 16:55You were telling you about splash, splash due to gravity,
- 17:00that crank your granny knot splashing ready, he was on there
- 17:03as well. He was cranking up.
- 17:16We could have had it home bugday.
- 17:18Sorry, surprise. Ask number three, the fact that
- 17:27he looks straight to camera goes.
- 17:29I had it was thick but I thought they were talking about his
- 17:32waistline. What?
- 17:33I always I've seen this so many times.
- 17:34You got the studio audience and they get them all to put the
- 17:37specs on and everything and jump.
- 17:38Oh, he's completely bemused. Oh, have I?
- 17:40Oh, okay. Do you think they sat in studio?
- 17:43And they all watched it or they just weren't cut.
- 17:45We're going to come back to the other hand, it out specs to
- 17:49every single member of could evolve.
- 17:51But where's the screen? What they are watching it on you
- 17:54know, probably know are they? Well that's the thing.
- 17:57Okay, now I'm is very game, you know?
- 17:58It's enough, wonderful clip and I don't care about no weapons
- 18:02that we're going in. So, this is great model.
- 18:04What's this is what? And you can see this.
- 18:07Yeah, that's I think that's the Ronnie's shit there.
- 18:10And I love how you've got that background?
- 18:12You'll look like constant movement and that's why these
- 18:14heads have to float around. Now, you see how they get the
- 18:16Tardis and ceiling? Yes, it's a terrible effect as
- 18:19well as a convention to know I think.
- 18:24Yeah. I think it was no.
- 18:27So sorry, folks, YouTube is immediately going to an adverb,
- 18:31right? This is a bit more time to chat,
- 18:33so sound West as the companion to the right?
- 18:35I mean, imagine if he was on with if she had a companion
- 18:38either, I'd rather have him than up.
- 18:40Living T trap or debt trap. That's just like a plan.
- 18:43You'd imagine looking is also I made a date is little bit.
- 19:09It's a bit like Windows 95 screen saver Now, isn't it?
- 19:12And I don't know why they kept the microphone in but I suppose
- 19:14he's got to be Talking doesn't know, but it looks like it looks
- 19:18like the lawnmower man. It was all sort of effects.
- 19:22What's the moment? Oh, it's a film in the nineties
- 19:24that use 3D technology. Entrepreneurs, got them heads
- 19:28now, I think he still looks pretty good his season 18
- 19:32costume here. There's all that talk about
- 19:34that. He insisted, he really wanted
- 19:35like, a question mark on the side of his face.
- 19:37And there is one there, when he turns at the end, it's there,
- 19:40it's very faint. And you can, if you zoom in, you
- 19:42can see it. They compromised, he wanted
- 19:44like, no, but he wishes To go and say it's around.
- 19:46You can see it's on just by. Yeah, just on the side of his
- 19:51face if you zoom in. There's question mark.
- 19:53Yeah, this is. Why is there a sideman in the in
- 19:55the roundels? So it gives you the report.
- 20:02I love. Oh my God, look at his earring
- 20:07is so 90s, isn't it? You want to lick his ass.
- 20:09Also is console is the best, isn't it?
- 20:14Yeah. And I thought It's I think that
- 20:16was borrowed from moment worse or something.
- 20:20It's a fan. I think it's a Foundry creation.
- 20:22I think that it was from, I think they set it up from a
- 20:26convention, this here. I think this special effect of
- 20:29the TARDIS is Sullivan time in the Ronnie.
- 20:31Nah, yeah, I think so. Oh remember when we film this
- 20:34outside, the Cutty Sark. Yeah, we were doing the
- 20:36Sylvester McCoy. Nice, B old turkey and China.
- 20:39Now the other members here boy, is anybody there you were too
- 20:44embarrassed to do? Do it.
- 20:45You can't do it. Really quite lovely.
- 20:47Chris are you there? Oh, look, it's completely
- 20:49changed now because got your psyche has since 1993 burnt down
- 20:53and I don't know how much of it is actually original Cutty Sark
- 20:56anymore, we went to like a sock, how's it been burnt down?
- 20:58They've rebuilt it out new stuff so it's not original but now
- 21:01it's raised up and you've got glass all around it so hard.
- 21:04All of these railings, everything now, it's just, it's
- 21:07not the same unfortunately, because imagine it I'd be, I'd
- 21:10be attached to them railings. If it was still around nowadays,
- 21:12it's not be there. Now, here's a We never thought
- 21:16we'd get Colin Baker and Sophie aldred.
- 21:18I know in Albert Square. Sophie aldred is doing her best.
- 21:22I mean, better than anybody should be appearance.
- 21:24He is absolutely playing this like she did on television.
- 21:27She goes straight back into it, but you don't look that she's
- 21:29like, oh, I've got a sort of fact that the doctors just
- 21:31suddenly changed, but it doesn't really match.
- 21:33It also strangers or things Geeta has two appearances.
- 21:38She ends up dying in the stolen, though, he does.
- 21:42That's so funny, isn't it? Oh, I've been, uh, I've talked
- 21:45about combination, John Pertwee and Bonnie Langford.
- 21:48I mean, I bet they probably knew each other quite well.
- 21:51Oh, Bonnie Langford. Knows everybody.
- 21:53And did you see, I always that boy.
- 21:55That was the, we first saw. The one that steals the fruit.
- 21:58Yeah, you just think turn orange, he was in Grange Hill
- 22:01around this time, why are they put Wendy Richardson Cafe in
- 22:05those terrible weeks. Because it's 2013 and right 93.
- 22:11And we thought they would aged terribly by this time.
- 22:13They didn't know that. Well, I didn't know who they
- 22:16were at, so I don't think I, when I was young, when I was,
- 22:19like, seven watched it. I thought they I didn't realize
- 22:20the time thing, a change. I thought they were different
- 22:22people. Yeah.
- 22:23Actually there was in this. Yeah.
- 22:26So it's not so weird that she's in Peril the doctor.
- 22:28She's back on earth. Oh what is happening to their
- 22:31companions? I don't get it.
- 22:33Why the heat drenching because that doesn't make any sense.
- 22:40Okay, so now Kathy and Paul L I never got less till later on.
- 22:45I never. This was supposed to be the 60s
- 22:47on over 70. Sorry.
- 22:48Yeah, I never got that. I just thought, I don't know.
- 22:52I thought she is caring for herself.
- 22:56Where's my grandfather's original?
- 23:00I know that they've really got the costume all the budget,
- 23:04probably. But she looks like she's, I
- 23:05swear, she wears that in them more than 30 years in the
- 23:07Tardis, she just sat down an interview and then she's coming
- 23:10just done some acting because she was worried that the
- 23:12convention always exact, you know.
- 23:15It's a bit That's what I mean. Like okay.
- 23:18Do we would we want this her in her full truck and outfit
- 23:20running around Albert square? Or just does it matter that
- 23:23she's dressed as a 90s Class A, oh, sorry.
- 23:26Sorry to interrupt you. There's a special effect here.
- 23:28Now, for monorail go and ask, well, EastEnders to the special
- 23:31effect of a monorail go past as well, because there is no real
- 23:34Bridge there, right? It's no real train bridge there
- 23:37and the East entrance effect look better than the daughter.
- 23:39Everyone welcome everybody, please write in explain this
- 23:42plot point. This is the one bit like don't
- 23:44get So the doctor and Sarah walking through here and she's
- 23:48like why the street market in London.
- 23:50This isn't a focus, Sarah, it is a mindset but he just says, this
- 23:54is a focus. This is the Central and
- 23:56everything and then he has a proper Jon Pertwee go.
- 24:00This isn't the focus. Their it when he is just explain
- 24:03that it is. And the I think the inflection
- 24:05of John poetry, reading it off, somebody holding, I put on a bit
- 24:08of cardboard in front of him is completely wrong.
- 24:11I think Jon Pertwee thinks he's the star of this.
- 24:14He's walking around. If he is the boss.
- 24:16He's well, let's just say he's available to promote it.
- 24:20He's in it. The most, he's probably the most
- 24:22available at the time. Everyone else is in theaters of
- 24:25wasn't gommage, maybe the most well known as well.
- 24:29Well, if they're all doing it for free, aren't they?
- 24:30He's Nyssa. We're in a waistcoat.
- 24:32I've just been talking about this.
- 24:34Why is that? That's what I'm saying?
- 24:36She should have been in their truck and because there are
- 24:37gone, they're not gone. I'll his pepper chili.
- 24:41Yeah, push me around, you know, about a lot is camera, work
- 24:44going around. Yeah, because of the nature of
- 24:46the 3D is actually some of the most stylish camera work in
- 24:50time. You know, this is what they do
- 24:54now with the Drone footage that they do exactly.
- 24:56There's a gravis there but thingy from the Ultimate
- 24:59Adventure Zog is it has soaked from the ultimate gratefulness
- 25:03vvv vvv, same on the bin, Salam a bin, I'd say this but we're
- 25:10coming up on the end of episode one or a day that's brilliant,
- 25:13isn't it? Absolutely wonderful.
- 25:15From dragon fire there, I think they just like, right is a
- 25:18trucker monsters and who locks that thing in the padlock in
- 25:22that Garden. That's never shies.
- 25:23It's not that evil time. Lord.
- 25:26Always fellowmen. Yeah, obviously standing up
- 25:29behind everybody because it's, you know what's even more absurd
- 25:33than anything. Yeah, at the end of this episode
- 25:36by, let's pause it. And I'm a bit more talk.
- 25:39I got a few questions for you. Yeah, that's the most absurd
- 25:43thing about this at all. Is the whole thing's a whole.
- 25:45It's a A massive pantomime, isn't it?
- 25:47It's like, it's completely ridiculous.
- 25:49Of course, it is positive thinking.
- 25:51Okay, we go, okay, they will take it so seriously that are
- 25:55all pretending like it's a genuine Doctor Who Adventure.
- 25:58Well, it's then coming back into it and you think they'll be able
- 26:02to be a lawful and, and it ties in.
- 26:04Of course, it's been done because it's the 30th
- 26:06anniversary of Doctor, Who as well.
- 26:08You've got to remember that. It's celebrating dr.
- 26:10Who they're not just doing it for children in need thing.
- 26:13This is someone to a novel this Recently I'm just whistled at a
- 26:17novel of this recently like apple?
- 26:20Well yeah I'm sure. Oh there's a short story about.
- 26:24What's his name is it Syrian? But Sam West plays.
- 26:27I think in the 94, 95 yearbook there is a story about the
- 26:31Ronnie where she gets him from and there's the world.
- 26:33Yeah, that's a good story. Ever fall back.
- 26:35Licking his armpits. Come on.
- 26:41No, no. But okay.
- 26:41I'll just like, take it away from me, sleazy.
- 26:44He's very Pretty though, it's brilliant.
- 26:47Absolutely wonderful. Okay.
- 26:49Yeah, he's a great audio book, half a mission.
- 26:51He's a great audio book reader as well.
- 26:53I've got 0 Once Upon a Time. Yes, a lot of cable off asleep
- 26:56in five minutes. What was your favorite part of
- 27:03part one? Hmm, sorry.
- 27:06But it's the truth March and it's great.
- 27:10It goes stepped up a notch to the monsters.
- 27:12All up here. It is a shame as though.
- 27:15Like in it because if you celebrate and don't realize,
- 27:18when are they filmed it with a Dalek?
- 27:19It was in part of the thing but they had to cut out because her
- 27:22Nations estate was like no you can't use it.
- 27:24Otherwise be paid or something to keep puddler estate what they
- 27:26have been 45 minutes being here, definite - state where they
- 27:29Brazil to be in it. I'm sure they were the Great
- 27:31phrase. Big need is fake, but I haven't
- 27:32for the graphics to begin it. Beeping Jane Ronnie, please.
- 27:36Yeah, it's really funny. Is this like all the zipless
- 27:40molds? Doesn't it feel like it's what's
- 27:43available from Longley exhibition show?
- 27:45This monsters in Albert Square. The see what happens?
- 27:48Yeah. And I say someone we did mention
- 27:50at all. Well the Glamorous that fabulous
- 27:54KO Mara as the Ronnie and of course she would be recognized
- 27:59just generally as well in Tennessee and is purely trying
- 28:04to go in the first episode where she was sunning herself on the
- 28:07scene. Unbelievable, originally talked
- 28:10about the toymaker being in this and getting Michael Gough to be
- 28:13the twin mag, which would make a little bit more sense.
- 28:15Sort of work. Mr. Shue outline.
- 28:17Now I'm sure that would have been anywhere near as fun.
- 28:20I think it would have been pretty much exactly the same.
- 28:22Except instead of cut to rani's Tardis, it's cut to toymakers
- 28:26layer with those sort of five doctors style.
- 28:28You can see that happening. Have you seen the APT a bow?
- 28:30Where Gary, Downey says to KO Maura, can you take it down a
- 28:34bit? It's a bit too.
- 28:35Can she look straight to the camera?
- 28:37Goes a bit, too. Camp She Goes, what show am I
- 28:41acting in? And just you know idle question
- 28:48your favorite doctor and companions in this.
- 28:52I'm as you know what, I love seeing the third dr.
- 28:54Ramel, imagine absolutely much and they get up there a very
- 28:58good investigative team. I feel who's Nick turn orange
- 29:03well and then they can put, you know, every week.
- 29:06They are these clothes are expensive.
- 29:09Let's investigate Melanie. There have varied, 32nd Ventura.
- 29:14Hey They would be like I can see it now.
- 29:19You've got a memory like an elephant Melody change.
- 29:24You me exactly. Every week there could be a
- 29:27change how badly do as I say exactly get off that mandala
- 29:37Melanie. Let's go to peace.
- 29:45Yeah I've been with Jon Pertwee. She would have had an origin
- 29:49story. Imagine.
- 29:51Yes. That orange story.
- 29:56My God. Dr. Melanie's been kidnapped.
- 30:04I use just little orange anyway. She just said that.
- 30:16It's right, right? We're going into part two.
- 30:19Okay, here we go. Sorry, folks, we are bit.
- 30:21Jolly is Christmas after. All right.
- 30:24So, and of course, now we're talking about the vote.
- 30:27Oh, yeah, sorry, it was a rip-roaring vote between Mandy
- 30:31or big Ron. I mean, I didn't vote at the
- 30:35time I would have voted Mandy gee, you've got that dimension
- 30:38in time T-shirt. Yeah.
- 30:40Yeah, yeah, there we go math. You'll be grand.
- 30:42And the disappointing thing about this and I know No, it's
- 30:46budget and it's a big Rob didn't win.
- 30:48It knows that literally, they do not rescue.
- 30:50It's it's billed as vote. Who's going to come and come to
- 30:54the doctor's Aid + help'. And literally she goes, are you
- 30:57leave her alone and then walked away?
- 31:00I feel like they could have had a little bit more.
- 31:03No, the whole thing is only 15 minutes.
- 31:06I'll nobody said what's going on.
- 31:15But seeing the big run version. I do think the right person won
- 31:19because actually, I think Rob's I think the wrong guys, I was
- 31:22going on and then just walked, it does less than mandate.
- 31:25She doesn't be anything, but now I'm pissed.
- 31:27Now, he's wearing a fabulous Hawaiian shirt.
- 31:31Here we go vote. Mandy, one by 56%.
- 31:33Isn't that the brexit vote 56:48 numbers of yard sale?
- 31:45They're as important as each other when you absolutely can
- 31:50look a little less ridiculous little, give me the doctor who
- 31:52could do again vote for what the reprise of a cliffhanger.
- 31:56They want to do something a bit interactive and different one
- 31:58day underneath just normal series or ending in have no
- 32:02Jenna. What's really scary?
- 32:03Hmm it's they could now do dimensions in time too but for
- 32:07the new series it's been gone long enough that with all the
- 32:09new series companions that I doctors.
- 32:12Well I've seen that actually a couple of times.
- 32:13Yeah. Would you say it correlation?
- 32:15No, it's all in my head. I've done the whole thing again
- 32:17in my head. So you seriously still exactly
- 32:19the same as this, but with the new series law to do a different
- 32:23soap. No, no it would be exactly same
- 32:26as this to just swap everybody else.
- 32:27I've got it. Okay so you've got Missy instead
- 32:30of the Ronnie. Yeah and then I'll who's instead
- 32:34of her companion though. What you mean?
- 32:38Well this is a yeah and then you'd have liked Martha instead
- 32:43of a rose. Yeah, I could do it.
- 32:47You could totally do a mix it all up and all the shit monsters
- 32:49from the newzik, the isolus, the half, it would all be there,
- 32:56Arnie. I don't think the branches are
- 32:58one then, red, trousers. I'm just saying Class A there
- 33:00when we did that tracking shot. Yeah, of you going the Ronnie.
- 33:05So, yeah. Let's see everyone go.
- 33:09I'll go to put a link into the YouTube video is out all those
- 33:13silver void going into the pub in the Why is the PowerPoint?
- 33:18If you must check that by faith, yet mother.
- 33:19Oh, the outtakes for this of job part, we get annoyed with
- 33:23everybody. So if you're Caroline Jordan,
- 33:24can you do the impression? I'm gonna feel like shit about
- 33:32the music. Is it like this music?
- 33:35Oh, hey, Carl and a would have been go.
- 33:36Mandy was the girl with her classmate from EastEnders, don't
- 33:40know. Oh, my Yates coming in on Bessie
- 33:42and he look old Slow. Richard Franklin not as old as
- 33:47it does. Now obviously, but the doctor
- 33:49doesn't do anything in this. That's a bit of a shame, he just
- 33:51sort of runs away. Not great writing there.
- 33:54If we are going to critique and about those the top one part of
- 34:00it is not great, right? But it's great to have
- 34:03obviously, third doctor and Brigadier back together and then
- 34:05with the Brigadier and the sick fuck to meeting for the first
- 34:08time, and what we did, our version of this mock superimpose
- 34:11the helicopter, but I think this setting Greenwich Meridian.
- 34:16It's a really actual good on. It was a whole time.
- 34:19And the idea of the Greenwich Meridian, that is a great idea
- 34:24for, I think, for a doctor who story, I don't know if anyone
- 34:26else has done that in a book or anything like that.
- 34:29Hey, it looks very stylish. So, I hope, you know, thought
- 34:33I've ever ever notice that carpet before in the right is
- 34:36something hot is your carpet on. It is like, definitely.
- 34:47What's she doing? Crouching down in the anyway.
- 34:52There's only one Doctor around. Here it is a number 10 square.
- 34:56Dr. Leg-oh. She's just come fresh from
- 34:58recording, the mistress and k94 BBV down there in a little
- 35:02booth. There's no hair.
- 35:04Look marvelous, amazing. She looks a little bit like Sam
- 35:06Jones. Doesn't she show Castleton?
- 35:08Yeah, you know, in the shorter webcasting, where they've drawn
- 35:12up. They've given her that figure,
- 35:14haven't they shanks? I think that is her actual
- 35:16clothes. Yeah, it looks like the sort of
- 35:18thing that shithole. Now, if you do this for me,
- 35:21well, I've never seen dragged out of it but oh no, I've done
- 35:25it wrong. No, don't try again.
- 35:29I'll see, you know, dragged it. I don't know what I seen him
- 35:31thrown out of it, but never dragged in.
- 35:38Victoria that terrible woman. She's changed the most out of
- 35:44everyone. So Sorry but Debra thing has I
- 35:46say unrecognizable? Well let's say somehow she's
- 35:49acting even worse and she didn't even 500 God and I wouldn't it
- 35:54took me years to realize this was Lila why she dressed up and
- 35:59drapes but she's got a crazy hair.
- 36:04Is she? That must be a week, right?
- 36:05I think that's her real hair at the time that she just really
- 36:09was she young baby DeMarco in this other moment.
- 36:13Probes a democracy. Traffic was the somewhat.
- 36:16Yeah. No.
- 36:17This is this is pre Louise James from being in it.
- 36:21This does actually, genuinely feel like a Sylvester McCoy but
- 36:24she doesn't it whenever he's in it and Isis in there for, like,
- 36:27I'm watching longborough right now.
- 36:34Come on. Hello.
- 36:35Hello to what is that about? I don't know.
- 36:37Is that a bit? Like we've missed out the script
- 36:39now have to put yeah, it's a terrible bit of ADR.
- 36:41It's over the string that he's pulling canine along.
- 36:45This is he wasn't working. It's on a wire.
- 36:48Got of course canine a classic all celebrate, 30 years A Doctor
- 36:52Who canines, not going to work perfect.
- 36:54It feels very natural because he's like sort of fiddling with
- 36:57loads of knobs and wires and things.
- 36:59It's great. I mean, this for the Seven
- 37:01Summits Renee's, really funny. You can tell people that it's
- 37:05just a bit of barosaurus. Yeah, absolutely.
- 37:08He's doing it for the charity because it's doing it for the
- 37:11charity. Yeah you mentioned Tom Baker,
- 37:12run around Albert square. If you took part more Yeah
- 37:15barely imagine that. Yeah but it helps with Pat
- 37:18butcher. What was that guy in there?
- 37:22And that Wormhole? That's the rice hardest for it.
- 37:25What's that? Red thing at the beginning?
- 37:27Yeah, we'll just got the Chameleon Circuit Works, doesn't
- 37:28it? She's a lot scared on it there,
- 37:30sit there and well, why don't we a dram going?
- 37:34Ha ha ha, the end. Great, you know, an outro
- 37:38doesn't it? And my last question is, what is
- 37:41that bit where it goes a bit? Did it?
- 37:43Tick tick, tick tick, how do you love that thing?
- 37:46Chained, I love it. I think it's brilliant.
- 37:48I know how many years it's happening.
- 37:49Very fast. It is 34 years since dr.
- 37:52He finished and was a current thing so it's not.
- 37:55It was still in the Zeitgeist wasn't it was still around and
- 37:58the Doctor Who logo would have been the current logo in a way.
- 38:02That's very nice. Talk about everything there.
- 38:03Did, you realize because it was quite by.
- 38:05So, so far such a leak, so much going on.
- 38:08Who is what's your favorite moment then?
- 38:11What from the whole thing? Yeah.
- 38:14While of the Brigadier in the safe doctor meeting.
- 38:16Yeah, I think that's, that's really important.
- 38:18But I just like, seeing all the weird combinations, their
- 38:21doctor, and Victoria, sixth doctor, and Susan, I'm, you
- 38:25know, all the things, I mean, can afford wouldn't know who he
- 38:28was, would it be more over the top part of color Baker and
- 38:30Kerala for my, my He's he would have tried to strangle her in
- 38:44the lab. Got rid of her for good.
- 38:48Oh no. I mean, Susan, you don't know
- 38:50what to think old is. Do you fools them so?
- 38:59Well, now you have the other task of choosing three things to
- 39:03recommend dimension of time age. So I go first.
- 39:06Okay. I'm going to say the impressive
- 39:08camera work as we Zoom around Albert Square.
- 39:11Absolutely. Oh my turn.
- 39:14Yeah just seeing all those actors coming back doing it for
- 39:18fun but actually but also like you say taking it as seriously
- 39:23as it needs to be they're not they're not doing over-the-top
- 39:26sending it up. They are, we're making a fun and
- 39:29we're making the Doctor Who story here.
- 39:31So, you know, you gotta free the streets.
- 39:33You're in terrible danger. You know, it's, it is acted.
- 39:36Well, and it's great to see everybody coming back.
- 39:39Oh, what? Well, I'm going to say what,
- 39:43I've probably considered to be one of the most impressive
- 39:46performances in Doctor Who, and that is no Edmonds in the
- 39:49interbank because he's really going for, is it?
- 39:52Oh, am I making serious television?
- 39:55They're no good. He's getting into the spirit of
- 39:59it. And you know what?
- 40:00I've got to say whenever they do these things, no Edmonds, blue
- 40:03Peter, you know, Patrick Moore in that.
- 40:06Anyways I are oh, what's that Thomas?
- 40:09Yeah. They're all coming up with a big
- 40:10check that you soak into the spirit of It.
- 40:14Don't Lie, that's what it's all about.
- 40:16So that's my second wind no weapons.
- 40:18I'm going to say sam West as bringing us a brand new
- 40:21character. Sad Weston is bleached asshole.
- 40:23He's a fan. He's a doctor who fans who
- 40:26really wanted to do this. Oh, so he knows what he's doing.
- 40:30He knows what he's in. And when is he going to be in
- 40:33real Doctor Who on TV? This is, Still pretty them.
- 40:37Have you seen these incredible Creatures?
- 40:39Great and Small? Whilst you?
- 40:41Yeah. Is he?
- 40:42Yeah, Kate Amara bounce them on her knee.
- 40:47She tells us she goes to be Sam west-southwest.
- 40:56I said, it's a West. I used to babysit him as a
- 40:59little boy. He's brilliant.
- 41:01And he I think it was a while back on Twitter.
- 41:04He was like, hold some people are saying the dimensions in
- 41:06time. And like, you know Cannon, I
- 41:08thought I was a my part of Doctor Who killed him or not.
- 41:10I think he really wanted to be part of dr.
- 41:13He Cannon and B and of course he is a part of my car.
- 41:18So yeah great character and if the so-called the human
- 41:24caterpillar. Yeah.
- 41:26Oh so anyway what's your next thing is laid?
- 41:31Come on. Yeah I'm very distracted by the
- 41:40Dragons Den clip it was with watch on YouTube.
- 41:43Now Peters is what pretty to UNI.
- 41:45Oh sorry. Okay.
- 41:46So my next thing will be our well obviously the Fantastic
- 41:50sets of crinkly bottom. Now I'm taking the piss is going
- 41:55to be the Myriad, a menagerie of monsters that we get to see
- 41:59again. Oh yeah.
- 42:00Highlights as PP from happiness, Patrol the gravis, and you think
- 42:05it's a shame as we could. To the BBC auction off all of
- 42:08those original props and costumes and stuff.
- 42:11And I know a lot of things like you, but but it's great to see,
- 42:15you know, you love that in 1993 is great to see the avoid still
