- 0:16Speaker 2: Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 3: The thing that caught my eyes I was walking out
- 0:21Speaker 3: here was Morgan Moses and Will Campbell a one on
- 0:24Speaker 3: one session in the middle of the practice.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I might need a moment.
- 0:28Speaker 4: It started just with him and Will Campbell, and Will
- 0:31Speaker 4: Campbell's like you people came over, yeah, Will Campbell's like
- 0:34Speaker 4: Kateen Wallace came over, and kan Wallace just standing there
- 0:37Speaker 4: watching Morgan Moses listening, and then Marcus, Marcus Bryant, he
- 0:43Speaker 4: starts to come on and all of them are kind of.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Like, you know, he's feeding the masses with you know,
- 0:50Speaker 2: tuloads of bread and a fish. Every word that that
- 0:53Speaker 2: guy says. I just I was hanging on.
- 0:55Speaker 4: H right, tell me more than yeah you be my dad.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Our first day of OTA, so we're ready.
- 1:01Speaker 3: To go's not here to rain on our Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:06Speaker 3: they were. Okay, I've been thinking too much about this
- 1:08Speaker 3: Father Fred show keeps popping into my head.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I actually have my treatment, but it's not Father Fred.
- 1:13Speaker 2: It's the Chicago pope, right, right, He became as good
- 1:15Speaker 2: a priest as he was a cop, and he rotse.
- 1:17Speaker 2: He became a bishop and a cardinal and then eventually pope.
- 1:20Speaker 2: But when he was young, he was a police officer
- 1:24Speaker 2: and he was a damn good one. Huh. He can
- 1:25Speaker 2: never turn his back on Chicago, so he always goes
- 1:28Speaker 2: back to help them fight crime. You hear about my
- 1:32Speaker 2: time in Tampa. This is Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 1:35Speaker 5: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 1:39Speaker 5: dot com.
- 1:42Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is a rainy
- 1:45Speaker 2: Thursday here at Jilette Stadium. Temperatures are in the forties.
- 1:49Speaker 2: We're back to winter here in New England. It's crazy.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Feel bad for the North Carolina women's lacrosse team that
- 1:55Speaker 3: was just walking onto the stadium for practice.
- 1:57Speaker 2: No, I was thinking about that. We got the NCAA
- 2:00Speaker 2: Cross here, the final four this weekend. The women have
- 2:04Speaker 2: their first their semis today. Is that what it is? Tomorrow?
- 2:08Speaker 6: Tomorrow?
- 2:08Speaker 2: Tomorrow? Tomorrow? What's today? Thursday? Yeah, so they're going to
- 2:11Speaker 2: be playing tomorrow, but the weather is terrible. They got
- 2:14Speaker 2: practice and it's awful. Get hit when one of those
- 2:17Speaker 2: lacrossballs in this weather.
- 2:19Speaker 7: And.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Anyway, it's Evan Paul's back, it's duein'ce me. Matt's in
- 2:25Speaker 2: the booth. We're talking Patriots for the next two hours.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Ot as we went to those a couple of days ago.
- 2:32Speaker 2: We wrapped that up. So I don't know if there's
- 2:34Speaker 2: any lingering observations.
- 2:36Speaker 6: Yes, are there any more shots? You'd like to take?
- 2:38Speaker 8: It me?
- 2:39Speaker 3: In's everything that I'm wrong with that practice.
- 2:44Speaker 6: You know that's a good point, did you?
- 2:46Speaker 7: Guys probably never mentioned the fact that the quarterbacks before
- 2:49Speaker 7: week No, I'll let everybody know that that happened, and
- 2:51Speaker 7: I am also going to let everybody know that it
- 2:54Speaker 7: didn't bother me at all. Yeah, didn't bother me at all.
- 2:57Speaker 2: That's true.
- 2:57Speaker 7: When you're installing an offense, things are happening for a
- 3:00Speaker 7: variety of different reasons and they don't all mean something bad.
- 3:04Speaker 7: So didn't didn't bother me in the least. Is that
- 3:08Speaker 7: raining on your parade?
- 3:09Speaker 6: Mike? You don't think I didn't hear you in the back?
- 3:16Speaker 2: No, it was.
- 3:16Speaker 6: I mean, I agree with what you said.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I mean it's I think the reasonable people understand this
- 3:20Speaker 3: is I was thinking about it.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Do you want drake me.
- 3:23Speaker 3: To come in and look instantly perfect in this offense?
- 3:24Speaker 6: Would that make yes? Would that make you feel good?
- 3:26Speaker 6: That would make me feel I'm not gonna lie.
- 3:28Speaker 7: It would have made me feel better if you're through
- 3:30Speaker 7: four touchdowns instead of four interceptions.
- 3:32Speaker 3: But I don't want those, no, Paul, It's like twelve
- 3:34Speaker 3: win seasons. I'm done with you all over the defense.
- 3:37Speaker 7: The defense, well, just one, just no particular play and
- 3:40Speaker 7: it wasn't one of the interceptions. You know, just as
- 3:42Speaker 7: an example of it. You don't really know exactly what
- 3:45Speaker 7: they're trying to do. Is Alex Austen knocked down a
- 3:49Speaker 7: pass at one point and Mike Rabel really gave it
- 3:52Speaker 7: to him, like what are you doing? Like you know,
- 3:54Speaker 7: you don't make a play on the ball, and that's it,
- 3:56Speaker 7: you know. So I'm not telling you that the intercepts
- 4:00Speaker 7: were on purpose or anything else, but just don't read
- 4:03Speaker 7: too much into things that are going on with shorts
- 4:06Speaker 7: and helmets on an Ota or mini can't practice field
- 4:09Speaker 7: because there's a lot of different things that are at
- 4:12Speaker 7: work and you're not privy to most of them, right.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I just I think this is an install and there's
- 4:17Speaker 3: nothing more important to like the coaching staff, Josh McDaniels,
- 4:20Speaker 3: Mike Vrabel than teaching these players how to execute the playbook.
- 4:24Speaker 3: And they do nothing probably this off season, other than
- 4:28Speaker 3: trying to think, how can I teach my players this playbook?
- 4:32Speaker 3: And so I think some of the Paul shows were implying, like, no,
- 4:35Speaker 3: they just took the Brady playbook from twenty nineteen and
- 4:37Speaker 3: everything that it entailed and piled it on and here
- 4:40Speaker 3: it is.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Well, you know, I don't think that's And one thing
- 4:42Speaker 2: if I with Josh McDaniel's that I'm telling Drake May
- 4:44Speaker 2: and all my offense run the play don't hold the ball,
- 4:48Speaker 2: just throw it where it's supposed to be. We need
- 4:51Speaker 2: to see what's working and what's not working. And so
- 4:54Speaker 2: you know, you're not supposed to add lib this time
- 4:58Speaker 2: of year, you know, don't freelance. It's just run it
- 5:01Speaker 2: the way we call it and we'll work out the
- 5:03Speaker 2: whether hill or whether it's there or not, and we'll
- 5:06Speaker 2: work it out afterwards. But don't you know, follow the
- 5:09Speaker 2: script yea, the timing and the timing of the script.
- 5:12Speaker 6: You know, that's right, I mean, yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 4: One of the good things about this time of year, though,
- 5:15Speaker 4: is that we get these like checkpoints and now we'll
- 5:17Speaker 4: see them next week, and then we'll see them a
- 5:19Speaker 4: week after that, and we hopefully will see it improving,
- 5:23Speaker 4: you know, and get betting better, better and better as
- 5:26Speaker 4: the summer goes along, but hopefully. I just think the
- 5:28Speaker 4: one thing that that is fair in my mind is
- 5:31Speaker 4: that they are installing a brand new offense for the
- 5:35Speaker 4: second year in a row for Drake May Like, he
- 5:38Speaker 4: did not run this offense last year, and so instead
- 5:40Speaker 4: of hitting the ground running in year two, we're not
- 5:43Speaker 4: back to square one because he played last year. So
- 5:46Speaker 4: like he's you know, we're still a little higher, you know,
- 5:49Speaker 4: a lot further along than what he would have been
- 5:52Speaker 4: as a rookie. But it is kind of like two
- 5:54Speaker 4: steps you know, back to take right.
- 5:56Speaker 2: The speed of the game shouldn't be new to him, right,
- 5:58Speaker 2: And that's the usual thing that you know, trips up
- 6:02Speaker 2: most of these guys. It's the speed of the game.
- 6:04Speaker 2: But listen, have I been, you know, victim of looking
- 6:08Speaker 2: at things too optimistically? Yes, and you know, maybe I
- 6:12Speaker 2: am right now, But right now I think it's way
- 6:14Speaker 2: too early to be worried. Now if we get into
- 6:18Speaker 2: training camp and this continues, okay.
- 6:21Speaker 7: But even last year it started at a level and
- 6:25Speaker 7: then it steadily rose in training camp because I don't
- 6:28Speaker 7: think he looked great at the start of training camp
- 6:30Speaker 7: last year, but there was a time Joel, the time, right,
- 6:33Speaker 7: you know, that it sort of clicked for him and
- 6:35Speaker 7: he seemed to get better and better as camp progressed,
- 6:38Speaker 7: to the point where we all felt like maybe he
- 6:40Speaker 7: had won the job.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 4: I just think a lot of people fairly were hoping
- 6:45Speaker 4: that it was going to pick up right where it
- 6:47Speaker 4: left off and so that we didn't have this adjustment
- 6:50Speaker 4: period or you know, whatever you want to call it,
- 6:53Speaker 4: that it seems to be happening right now and instead
- 6:57Speaker 4: we're reinstalling a new offense and they're kind of starting
- 7:01Speaker 4: from a lower level than if you were just carrying
- 7:04Speaker 4: it over from last year. But the ceiling of what
- 7:07Speaker 4: they're able to do with McDaniels and with the pieces like,
- 7:10Speaker 4: that's what they're working towards, and it's so much higher
- 7:12Speaker 4: than what they had last year. So it's worth it. It's
- 7:15Speaker 4: going to hopefully be worth it in the long run.
- 7:17Speaker 4: But right now I understand why people are disappointed that well,
- 7:22Speaker 4: we're changing everything up on them and now we're starting over.
- 7:25Speaker 4: And like I get that.
- 7:26Speaker 3: It's such a headlines too, coming out of the four interceptions,
- 7:29Speaker 3: it's easy to say.
- 7:30Speaker 6: I would just say.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Though, honestly, like I just think this underscores where the
- 7:34Speaker 3: ceiling of this team lies hidden, and that is with
- 7:36Speaker 3: Drake May and how good is he going to be
- 7:38Speaker 3: this year? They've got a lot more talent on the team,
- 7:41Speaker 3: no question, but it all revolves around him.
- 7:43Speaker 6: If he takes that next step, then they'll be better.
- 7:45Speaker 3: And if he doesn't and he's sloppy, and you know,
- 7:48Speaker 3: then they're going to be probably mired middle blow the middle.
- 7:51Speaker 7: There'll be one of those teams that has some talent
- 7:54Speaker 7: but it's struggled to put it together because of a quarterback.
- 7:57Speaker 7: And you know, as you know, Mike, I do a
- 7:59Speaker 7: lot of you know, talking around the area.
- 8:02Speaker 6: And one of the questions, I'm off.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Libraries near you?
- 8:06Speaker 7: No, so I was at I was at a bank
- 8:07Speaker 7: with the other night and you know, I did I
- 8:09Speaker 7: have rubber chicken?
- 8:10Speaker 6: I was on the rubber chicken. It was actually a
- 8:12Speaker 6: pretty good steak.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Good spread.
- 8:15Speaker 6: Not lie, not gonna lie. It was a pretty good Steak,
- 8:17Speaker 6: Lombardo's and random A lot of people just so, what
- 8:21Speaker 6: do you think, what do you know?
- 8:22Speaker 7: You know, it seems like, you know, there's a lot
- 8:23Speaker 7: of excitement this and that, and I said, yeah, I
- 8:26Speaker 7: and my answer is pretty much the same to everybody.
- 8:28Speaker 7: They've improved on paper, the players, same stuff we talk
- 8:32Speaker 7: about here. The players they've brought in and my view,
- 8:34Speaker 7: are better than the players they're going to be replacing
- 8:36Speaker 7: in most cases. But not much of that is going
- 8:39Speaker 7: to matter if Drake made doesn't aggression.
- 8:42Speaker 6: Mike just said, that's true.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I just think it's important because on one hand,
- 8:47Speaker 3: you can't kill Drake for that.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I mean, I think that's part of learning.
- 8:51Speaker 3: And maybe we're taking a half step back to try
- 8:53Speaker 3: to take five steps forward, like Evan said. But at
- 8:56Speaker 3: the same time, you can't sweep under the rug. How
- 8:58Speaker 3: important Drake.
- 8:59Speaker 6: Mays progress is this year.
- 9:01Speaker 3: And you know, even if the other talent doesn't live
- 9:04Speaker 3: up to some of the expectations, Drake may could offset
- 9:06Speaker 3: some of that. You know, if the number one ride
- 9:08Speaker 3: receiver isn't you know, doesn't emerge, or if Stefan Diggs
- 9:12Speaker 3: isn't that pure prototypical number one, if Drake May's playing
- 9:15Speaker 3: really well, it'll matter last I mean, it's still obviously
- 9:18Speaker 3: will matter. But I just think everything revolves around Drake
- 9:22Speaker 3: May this year, for better or worse.
- 9:23Speaker 2: If you're if you're Vraybel, do you care about the
- 9:27Speaker 2: scrutiny that the media is giving your quarterback and are
- 9:30Speaker 2: you thinking about that as you plan your practices to
- 9:34Speaker 2: maybe set him up to get some early success so
- 9:38Speaker 2: that it alleviates some of that. I mean, maybe I'm
- 9:41Speaker 2: overthinking noble happening. Like it's the NFL. There's pressure, people
- 9:45Speaker 2: are gonna talk.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Yeah, enough, you can hide him, right, like that's what
- 9:48Speaker 4: they did to Mac.
- 9:49Speaker 6: Jones, Like if you're onto something.
- 9:51Speaker 4: They hit him, you know, his rookie year, and eventually
- 9:54Speaker 4: it's it's gonna come out, whether he can play or not.
- 9:56Speaker 7: I don't think Mike really thinks it's necessarily a bad thing.
- 10:00Speaker 6: He should be. He should be scrutinized.
- 10:03Speaker 7: Now, I will say I didn't listen to as much,
- 10:06Speaker 7: like you know, I was joking around, but I have been.
- 10:08Speaker 7: It's a busy week for me, so I haven't heard
- 10:10Speaker 7: as much of my shows as I normally do.
- 10:12Speaker 6: I haven't I didn't hear a ton.
- 10:14Speaker 7: Of overreaction to the four picks, which I was kind
- 10:16Speaker 7: of expecting, not gonna lie.
- 10:18Speaker 6: I thought there'd be a ton of like, what's going on.
- 10:22Speaker 7: It's more like what you're talking about, Fred, Yeah, Like
- 10:24Speaker 7: the concern is for Drake May. This is four offensive
- 10:28Speaker 7: coordinators in four years. Two years at North Carolina, now
- 10:31Speaker 7: two years with the Patriots, four different offensive coordinators, and
- 10:34Speaker 7: I think that's a legit concern. I don't think the
- 10:36Speaker 7: concern is, oh my god, he threw four interceptions. They
- 10:39Speaker 7: blow it up in an Ota, and I haven't heard
- 10:42Speaker 7: a ton of concern for that.
- 10:45Speaker 6: But I'll bet Mike you might be right. I seem
- 10:49Speaker 6: to sounds like one of those things. Hey, that's life.
- 10:53Speaker 7: You know that Rabel, you know, sort of likes that,
- 10:56Speaker 7: that situation where you know you're sort of your feature
- 11:00Speaker 7: the fire a little bit.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Yeah, well he knows, well, he's I mean, you said
- 11:03Speaker 3: they had some epic interactions between Felger and him in
- 11:06Speaker 3: the locker room, right, So no one knows better than
- 11:08Speaker 3: Mike Rabel the kind of scrutiny that this team is
- 11:11Speaker 3: constantly under.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Okay, all right, sounds good. Well there's that. We're still
- 11:18Speaker 2: we're still receiving comments from Forge and Foxborough. People are
- 11:23Speaker 2: loving it. I'm loving the access that we were granted,
- 11:26Speaker 2: you know, by the team. It was unprecedented.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Uh.
- 11:30Speaker 2: You know when I thought maybe at some point in
- 11:31Speaker 2: the show, maybe now, maybe later, you know, we kind
- 11:34Speaker 2: of break down what we liked in it and you
- 11:36Speaker 2: know what we gleaned from it and shows presence.
- 11:40Speaker 6: Yeah, I was gonna say, you see the people make
- 11:45Speaker 6: a fun of their hairstick.
- 11:46Speaker 3: I needed a little digital you.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Know, I'll get you some paste.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Quick, quick, funny story regarding this. You know, the football
- 11:58Speaker 3: video guys. We're walking through the tunnel and I saw
- 12:00Speaker 3: one of the construction people who were here working stop
- 12:03Speaker 3: one of them and was saying, I love Fores and Foxboro.
- 12:06Speaker 3: They're telling the football video guys that and they're like, no,
- 12:08Speaker 3: we didn't, we didn't make it, but but thanks well, you.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Know, and I overheard it, so I was like, oh, no,
- 12:12Speaker 2: that's cool.
- 12:12Speaker 3: But I've heard a lot of really good reactions from
- 12:15Speaker 3: Patriots fans. For me, I've always I always mentioned the
- 12:18Speaker 3: Belichick talking to his team in the nine documentaries.
- 12:20Speaker 6: My favorite part.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I love seeing coaches talk to their teams and the
- 12:23Speaker 3: methods that So for me, that first part with Bradil
- 12:26Speaker 3: talking to the team, that was my favorite part.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Well, when we saw that, you know, like you know,
- 12:31Speaker 2: we've had Belichick and and even Mayo last year and
- 12:35Speaker 2: we asked over the years, okay, can we you know,
- 12:39Speaker 2: do a team meeting, you know, especially that first one,
- 12:41Speaker 2: and always the answer was no, and these guys said, yeah,
- 12:45Speaker 2: let's do it. And so I've never really seen one before.
- 12:48Speaker 2: So for me, this is gold. I agree, and we're
- 12:52Speaker 2: sitting it was great. We're sitting there looking at this
- 12:54Speaker 2: and we're like, this has to be the lead. We
- 12:57Speaker 2: have to open this thing up with with that, you know,
- 13:00Speaker 2: because that's what gets you going. And that's how he
- 13:03Speaker 2: introduced himself to his team, and I think that's how
- 13:06Speaker 2: we introduced the We decided how we should introduce the
- 13:09Speaker 2: video to the people.
- 13:10Speaker 3: It's credit to Rabel and football because I know as
- 13:12Speaker 3: a coach that's a very important moment, like to what
- 13:15Speaker 3: you're setting the tone for your team. This is I
- 13:17Speaker 3: can understand completely why a team and a coach would
- 13:19Speaker 3: not want cameras in there. So I think it was
- 13:22Speaker 3: great that they allowed that access and I know fans
- 13:24Speaker 3: like me eat that up.
- 13:26Speaker 6: It's great stuff.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Do you think he like rehearses it the night before?
- 13:29Speaker 4: I think in the mirror maybe, Like I don't know,
- 13:32Speaker 4: but I was genuinely curious because it seemed like he yeah,
- 13:37Speaker 4: there's no stumbles, there was no like. It was like
- 13:39Speaker 4: very he knew exactly what he wanted to say.
- 13:42Speaker 2: He's probably heard it from other coaches a million times
- 13:44Speaker 2: and he's done it before. Yeah, but I'm sure he
- 13:47Speaker 2: thinks about what he's going to say and goes over it.
- 13:49Speaker 7: Yeah, absolutely, yeah, Yeah, I think he clearly had some
- 13:52Speaker 7: bullet pills that he was going off with.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Absolutely. Yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 6: I really liked that part too.
- 13:57Speaker 7: And like Fred said, we've been you know, Fred and
- 13:59Speaker 7: I have been around for hundred years, so pretty much
- 14:02Speaker 7: all of this stuff we've done in some iteration or
- 14:05Speaker 7: another over the years.
- 14:07Speaker 6: I don't ever recall this.
- 14:10Speaker 7: If we've had cameras in a team meeting, which I
- 14:14Speaker 7: don't think we have, we've certainly never seen it. So
- 14:18Speaker 7: that was the part that really stood out to me.
- 14:20Speaker 7: Was Wow, So okay, so that's what it's like, that
- 14:23Speaker 7: first team meeting. You know, it's it's kind of like
- 14:27Speaker 7: when you were playing high school sports and your coach said,
- 14:30Speaker 7: you know, this is what you do, and if you're
- 14:31Speaker 7: not going to be at practice, you need to call it.
- 14:33Speaker 6: You know, it's the most like the most basic.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Paul, I still don't have your emergency and your user for.
- 14:41Speaker 6: Your compliance forms and all that stuff you have to
- 14:44Speaker 6: turn in.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Uh.
- 14:46Speaker 3: The other part, to me, though, I thought was really
- 14:47Speaker 3: interesting was just seeing the interactions in the draft room
- 14:49Speaker 3: between Cowden, Wolf and Vrabel to see what that dynamic
- 14:52Speaker 3: is like and how it's developing. That that's been a
- 14:55Speaker 3: big talking point this offseason. That that was another part
- 14:58Speaker 3: that weighing trade offers, how does it and I mean
- 15:01Speaker 3: it seem like it was working pretty well. You know,
- 15:03Speaker 3: it's three GM type guys trying to figure what they
- 15:06Speaker 3: want to do.
- 15:06Speaker 7: So that was the other part in that part, you know,
- 15:08Speaker 7: in that intro, I would also say that some of
- 15:12Speaker 7: the b role that we played while Mike was talking
- 15:15Speaker 7: of like in the weight room and some of that
- 15:17Speaker 7: stuff was great, great footage, great stuff, stuff that we've
- 15:20Speaker 7: been able to shoot, but again not necessarily been able
- 15:24Speaker 7: to show well.
- 15:24Speaker 2: With Bill. We would never allowed in the weight room
- 15:27Speaker 2: very rarely, no, but we've been we had to be
- 15:29Speaker 2: like really tight on a guy.
- 15:30Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, yeah, yeah, and this that's why I said,
- 15:33Speaker 7: I thought this was really good footage in the background.
- 15:36Speaker 6: So yeah, my only you said, like what we liked,
- 15:39Speaker 6: but we didn't like.
- 15:39Speaker 7: My only critique basically would just be the length of
- 15:43Speaker 7: I've heard the different things and like even the meaning
- 15:46Speaker 7: I think was like over seven minutes, whereas I think
- 15:49Speaker 7: you kind of got an idea of where they were going.
- 15:52Speaker 6: But I mean, I think Mike is right.
- 15:54Speaker 7: I think if you're a Patriots fan and you're watching this,
- 15:56Speaker 7: this is like a real peak behind the kurt to
- 16:00Speaker 7: all these things that we've never really been able to
- 16:02Speaker 7: see and experience.
- 16:03Speaker 6: I thought it was great.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Well, you know, it's funny because like we've had, we
- 16:06Speaker 2: had so many planning sessions, you know, to do this,
- 16:09Speaker 2: and you know, how much footage do we have and
- 16:12Speaker 2: we're guessing, like, you know, how how long is this
- 16:14Speaker 2: thing going to be? You know, it was everything from
- 16:16Speaker 2: forty five minutes to two hours, you know, and you
- 16:20Speaker 2: get so it's the first time like we were able
- 16:22Speaker 2: to do this and you're making decisions like what should
- 16:25Speaker 2: we take out, what should we leave in? And we
- 16:27Speaker 2: kind of made the decision. It's like, leave most of
- 16:30Speaker 2: it in. It's the first time for us and the fans.
- 16:33Speaker 2: If we if we do this again next year, which
- 16:35Speaker 2: we probably will, we probably will edit it down a
- 16:38Speaker 2: little bit more because you're not going to have another
- 16:40Speaker 2: seven minutes of Mike Rabel in the first team meeting. Yeah,
- 16:43Speaker 2: you know, you either cut that down or you do
- 16:45Speaker 2: something else. But for the first time, it was like
- 16:47Speaker 2: leave it in.
- 16:48Speaker 6: Yeah, give the fans what we have, sure, you know,
- 16:52Speaker 6: And yeah.
- 16:53Speaker 2: It was seventy two minute I think runtime, which is
- 16:55Speaker 2: long in today's day and age for people's attention spans.
- 16:59Speaker 2: But I think that's fine. Yeah, that's fine. More in
- 17:02Speaker 2: this case, I think more was better because it's the
- 17:05Speaker 2: first time.
- 17:06Speaker 3: I think it comes at the right time too, because,
- 17:09Speaker 3: let's face the Patriots fans a little bit of a
- 17:10Speaker 3: crisis of confidence right now in the team and the
- 17:13Speaker 3: operation and how things have been going in the last
- 17:14Speaker 3: couple of years. And now to show a glimpse of
- 17:16Speaker 3: a head coach who's been a head coach before and
- 17:18Speaker 3: knows what he wants to do and comes prepared, I
- 17:21Speaker 3: think it's reassuring and bring some of that confidence back
- 17:24Speaker 3: that all right, this team knows what they're trying to do.
- 17:26Speaker 3: They brought in the kind of players that all have
- 17:28Speaker 3: a type, and it just it makes sense. I keep
- 17:30Speaker 3: hearing that on everything Paul shows, our stupid podcast that
- 17:34Speaker 3: we listen to like everybody. Just it just makes sense
- 17:36Speaker 3: what they've done. Now we'll it all come together and work.
- 17:38Speaker 3: It's been on Drake May don't know. It's a chemistry
- 17:40Speaker 3: experiment as always, but I think it feels like the
- 17:43Speaker 3: people who know football and are here and have a
- 17:45Speaker 3: system in place that.
- 17:46Speaker 2: That should do.
- 17:47Speaker 6: You think it needed a narrator, I personally, you do,
- 17:51Speaker 6: I do, But.
- 17:52Speaker 9: I think it could have helped really yeah, okay transitions,
- 17:56Speaker 9: yeah yeah, and it didn't have to be it didn't
- 18:00Speaker 9: have to be hard knock style or the narrator's talking constantly.
- 18:03Speaker 9: But like it, like Paul said, you know some of
- 18:05Speaker 9: the transitions or.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I to me, it's either you've got a narrator or
- 18:10Speaker 2: you don't. Like if you just use it like in
- 18:13Speaker 2: here and there, then it's like, well why didn't you
- 18:15Speaker 2: use it over here? So I don't know. I thought
- 18:18Speaker 2: it was okay without a narrator. I get, I get
- 18:21Speaker 2: what the transitions could have been a little bit more
- 18:24Speaker 2: like in the beginning, we heard like, oh, what's you
- 18:27Speaker 2: know you're use when you're using the symbolism of building
- 18:30Speaker 2: a foundation, And it would have been nice to tell
- 18:33Speaker 2: people what that actually was, because we know what it was.
- 18:35Speaker 2: It's the new training facility that's opening next to April.
- 18:39Speaker 2: But you know, we've had so far half a million
- 18:42Speaker 2: people worldwide that have watched this thing on YouTube alone
- 18:46Speaker 2: and they don't know what that is. So like, it's
- 18:49Speaker 2: great to have symbolism, but in this case, it really
- 18:52Speaker 2: was something. And I don't know, maybe we should have
- 18:54Speaker 2: used at least a graphic to say, if you're.
- 18:56Speaker 7: Weren't going to do a narrator, then yeah, maybe a
- 18:59Speaker 7: little bit more graphics just so let people know. But
- 19:02Speaker 7: this is all nitpicking, And first of all, it's the
- 19:04Speaker 7: first time we've done something of this scope, right, and
- 19:07Speaker 7: I think all internally, yeah, yeah, yeah, and this was
- 19:12Speaker 7: I think I'd be stunned if we get much negativity
- 19:17Speaker 7: from any fans that watch this, you know, in terms
- 19:20Speaker 7: of like whelmingly but what a bunch of crap content,
- 19:23Speaker 7: Like I can't imagine that anybody that that's a Patriots
- 19:26Speaker 7: fan watches this and says that's no good.
- 19:28Speaker 6: Now, could it be better? Always?
- 19:31Speaker 7: I mean there's no such thing as a perfect you know,
- 19:33Speaker 7: everyone has their taste and perfect piece of content.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Yeah, my personal favorite part was all the scouting meetings obviously,
- 19:41Speaker 4: and like hearing them talk about prospects. And when we
- 19:44Speaker 4: went to the Senior Bowl, I had a conversation with
- 19:47Speaker 4: no Socks and I remember him saying, like, if we
- 19:50Speaker 4: can just get them talking about one guy that we
- 19:53Speaker 4: actually draft, like that's.
- 19:55Speaker 2: All we need multiple and and we.
- 19:59Speaker 4: I spent like an hour with No Socks and our
- 20:02Speaker 4: and Bradley and they're going over different prospects and like
- 20:05Speaker 4: who could be the one guy? And to hear one
- 20:08Speaker 4: of our scouts I think it might have been Tucker
- 20:10Speaker 4: say Kyle Williams's name. I was like, that's so cool,
- 20:13Speaker 4: Like that's that was so that was one hundred percent authentic.
- 20:16Speaker 4: That wasn't like we faked it, and like, you know,
- 20:18Speaker 4: six months later we put that in like that was
- 20:21Speaker 4: one hundred percent real. In the moment he said that
- 20:23Speaker 4: Kyle Williams was the best receiver at the Senior Bowl
- 20:26Speaker 4: and then we ended up drafting him, you know, five
- 20:28Speaker 4: months later, Like that's that was really cool. And all
- 20:31Speaker 4: those guys deserve a ton of credit for what goes
- 20:34Speaker 4: into this whole draft process, and it was cool to
- 20:37Speaker 4: give them some shine. You know, some of our scouts
- 20:40Speaker 4: Matt Evans and j T. Hill and Tucker and all
- 20:43Speaker 4: those guys that, uh do a really good job. And
- 20:45Speaker 4: they also listened to us f YI, so they they
- 20:49Speaker 4: they're fans of the show as well, but they it's
- 20:53Speaker 4: of course, of course, but yeah, they they do a
- 20:57Speaker 4: great job, and you know, it's cool to see that
- 21:00Speaker 4: their work kind of behind the scenes a little bit,
- 21:02Speaker 4: and like that drive from the hotel to the stadium,
- 21:06Speaker 4: Like I've made that same drive now two years in
- 21:09Speaker 4: a row, and like they that was all authentic and real,
- 21:12Speaker 4: which I thought was cool. We didn't like just film it,
- 21:14Speaker 4: you know a couple of weeks ago and say, oh,
- 21:16Speaker 4: say Kyle Williams, you know, like that was real?
- 21:19Speaker 2: No, it was, and we got lucky.
- 21:20Speaker 6: Yeah, we got lucky.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, there you did.
- 21:24Speaker 6: You did you think Kyle Webs was the best receiver.
- 21:27Speaker 4: I thought it was between him and Jalen Knowl from
- 21:29Speaker 4: Iowa State. I thought both those guys had really good weeks.
- 21:33Speaker 2: You know.
- 21:33Speaker 4: We joked about with Kyle Williams. They go in alphabetical order,
- 21:36Speaker 4: so Williams is obviously last, so he was the last
- 21:40Speaker 4: one to rep in every single drill, every single one
- 21:44Speaker 4: on one. So I feel like he kind of got
- 21:46Speaker 4: like lost a little bit because of that. You know,
- 21:49Speaker 4: some people had moved their eyes on to something different
- 21:51Speaker 4: or something. But what's cool about how the way they
- 21:54Speaker 4: do it is they have so many scouts that each
- 21:56Speaker 4: scout gets a position, so it's like somebody's focus is
- 21:59Speaker 4: on wide receiver. So all they're doing all day is
- 22:02Speaker 4: watching the wide receivers, whereas you know, we have to
- 22:05Speaker 4: watch everything, you know, try to watch everything. So it
- 22:08Speaker 4: was it was cool, but he definitely had a good
- 22:10Speaker 4: Senior Bowl week and then we had the footage to
- 22:12Speaker 4: kind of like prove it, you know that he had
- 22:15Speaker 4: a good week. And we also had cam talking about
- 22:18Speaker 4: Will Campbell. I think that was at the combine, right that, uh,
- 22:23Speaker 4: that footage of him talking about Will Campbell.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Will Campbell, we kind of knew, right.
- 22:28Speaker 7: Well, why can't I think of the Florida State defensive
- 22:31Speaker 7: as a farmer?
- 22:32Speaker 2: Joshua? Yeah, yeah, that multiple.
- 22:36Speaker 4: They were sitting the three of them, Elliott, Wolf, Rabel
- 22:39Speaker 4: and Cowden We're sitting like at the fifty yard line
- 22:43Speaker 4: inside the stadium down there and mobile the three of
- 22:46Speaker 4: them together, and uh. And I think I said at
- 22:49Speaker 4: one point like, oh, it'd be cool to be in
- 22:50Speaker 4: on that conversation. And someone said to me, we we
- 22:53Speaker 4: are on that conversation and that those are the things
- 22:57Speaker 4: that they were obviously talking about, and that that was
- 23:00Speaker 4: really cool. I mean, that's that's what we're all doing.
- 23:02Speaker 4: We're just sitting there watching and talking about players and.
- 23:05Speaker 7: Behind the scenes scouting stuff. I agree with Evan was
- 23:07Speaker 7: really good. There was a couple of little individual things
- 23:11Speaker 7: that pop up from time to time that I thought
- 23:13Speaker 7: were great, and one of them that really stood out
- 23:15Speaker 7: to me was having you know, when we went to
- 23:18Speaker 7: the to the the NFL free agency, you know, not
- 23:22Speaker 7: the college stuff, the NFL free agent additions, and then
- 23:25Speaker 7: having Jamar Chase talk about Carlton Davis being the toughest
- 23:29Speaker 7: corner and he went against you faced him a couple
- 23:31Speaker 7: of times.
- 23:32Speaker 6: That's fantastic stuff.
- 23:34Speaker 7: And you know, to have that included in that piece,
- 23:37Speaker 7: I thought Adams to.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Get Carlton Davis's reaction, yeah, yeah, Yeah, that was really good.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I hadn't seen that no happened.
- 23:44Speaker 3: If you were a Patriots fan that like the last
- 23:45Speaker 3: game of the season, they won, and you just turn
- 23:47Speaker 3: the TV off and then you wake up now and
- 23:49Speaker 3: you flip that on like there's an hour and whatever,
- 23:51Speaker 3: like catch.
- 23:52Speaker 2: You right up.
- 23:53Speaker 6: You know everything that happened. You were right there for
- 23:55Speaker 6: every single moment.
- 23:55Speaker 3: So I think the only way you could disappoint fans
- 23:58Speaker 3: is if you over promise an under the burden said
- 24:00Speaker 3: we've got all kinds of access and then you didn't.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Really, but this delivered all the pressures on, right, Yeah,
- 24:06Speaker 2: now the pressures on. Everyone expects another one and to
- 24:09Speaker 2: be as good, if not better.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Yeah. The other part that I really liked was the
- 24:14Speaker 4: Stefan Diggs like kind of reveal, because it was building
- 24:17Speaker 4: up to that where it was like, well, yeah, they
- 24:19Speaker 4: got all these pieces on defense, but they kind of
- 24:22Speaker 4: need that that star receiver, and then it's just Diggs.
- 24:25Speaker 4: It's like that, you know, kind of gives you goosebumps.
- 24:27Speaker 4: You're like there you go, like that's what that's what
- 24:30Speaker 4: we were looking for. So that was really cool as well.
- 24:33Speaker 4: But for me, the scouting stuff was gold, Like I
- 24:37Speaker 4: wish that I could see the raw footage right, you don't.
- 24:40Speaker 6: Just cut out the middle man and just do it.
- 24:42Speaker 6: What are you doing, scouts.
- 24:46Speaker 2: That's what you want to do.
- 24:48Speaker 4: No, you're gonna get me that.
- 24:53Speaker 6: Fred's the kingmaker. You could get this done well.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Listen.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I would like that we talk about this is probably
- 25:01Speaker 3: Evan's pick, like we're analyzing, like.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Right, oh, here we go again.
- 25:05Speaker 7: This guy break news ever again.
- 25:09Speaker 4: You might have to bring up with Bart fired immediately.
- 25:12Speaker 6: It's not gonna work anymore. I've got too many things
- 25:14Speaker 6: that I know.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Hamps just says, big no on the narrator. I don't
- 25:17Speaker 2: want to be told what I'm seeing. Yeah, that's that's
- 25:20Speaker 2: not exactly what they do if you do it right.
- 25:22Speaker 6: Yeah, that's not what the narrator to may.
- 25:24Speaker 3: I've had a couple of times with projects that I've
- 25:26Speaker 3: worked on, like do you need a narrator?
- 25:27Speaker 6: You don't, and I just some things needed.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I just don't want it to ever be a crutch where,
- 25:31Speaker 3: you know, instead of being able to show, you have
- 25:33Speaker 3: to tell you other than a.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Graphic here and that I don't think this needed it.
- 25:37Speaker 2: I didn't. I you know, like now I'm close to it.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I watched it a million times, you know, I never thought, oh,
- 25:44Speaker 2: we need a narrator.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I never thought that it's hard too from your position,
- 25:47Speaker 3: because you you try to think how to phrase this,
- 25:50Speaker 3: like you know so much so you don't know like
- 25:53Speaker 3: what's in there? What is and so like something like
- 25:54Speaker 3: the training facility. Like for me, when I was watching initially,
- 25:57Speaker 3: I'm like, that's the training I just knew.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 25:59Speaker 6: It didn't really cur to me that people outside would
- 26:01Speaker 6: be like, I have no idea say.
- 26:02Speaker 7: I stepped back and I was talking to Fred about
- 26:04Speaker 7: this a little bit, and I just said, I pretended
- 26:07Speaker 7: I'm I don't work here right when I watched it,
- 26:10Speaker 7: I'm just and I The first thing I wrote in
- 26:12Speaker 7: my notes was what is this?
- 26:13Speaker 6: With a question mark.
- 26:14Speaker 7: I didn't know that this was the introductory team meeting,
- 26:18Speaker 7: and I didn't know that the construction was actual construction
- 26:21Speaker 7: taking place in Foxborough because I'm trying to pretend I'm
- 26:25Speaker 7: not here every day, knowing that that building is going
- 26:27Speaker 7: up right behind where I park every day, you know
- 26:30Speaker 7: what I mean? So that's and it didn't Friend's right.
- 26:32Speaker 7: It doesn't have to be a narrator. It could be graphics.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Michelle who loves it when I call her Shalata.
- 26:38Speaker 6: Oh, good to hear from you, Michelle.
- 26:40Speaker 2: She thought it was amazing. In caps, right around the
- 26:43Speaker 2: eighteen minute mark, there's a sequence where Rabel is coaching
- 26:46Speaker 2: at the Texans where he tells Brown, who's coming off
- 26:49Speaker 2: the field, Brown, to go over to his teammate and
- 26:52Speaker 2: tell him that he did a great job. That split
- 26:55Speaker 2: second got me so high. Let's f and go go.
- 26:58Speaker 6: You can't get tired, guys, you can't taut.
- 27:02Speaker 7: Fantastic footage the Houston stuff on the sideline when Mike
- 27:06Speaker 7: was there, Like really, really, I'm glad that Michelle brought
- 27:10Speaker 7: that up.
- 27:10Speaker 4: How did we get that footage?
- 27:12Speaker 2: Like that's the NFL film NFL they produced that that's
- 27:16Speaker 2: been out there.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Got it?
- 27:17Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, it reminded me of I heard Gino Arima
- 27:21Speaker 3: ari Arima uh miked up at a practice and he
- 27:25Speaker 3: was telling his teams like the best players don't get tired.
- 27:27Speaker 3: They just don't get tired, right, And I was like, yeah,
- 27:28Speaker 3: that kind of resonates with me, Like the best guys
- 27:30Speaker 3: they always the big moments.
- 27:32Speaker 6: Those are the guys that still have the juice to go.
- 27:33Speaker 6: You can't tap out. It's so funny.
- 27:36Speaker 2: We don't have the guys. But then he goes and
- 27:38Speaker 2: makes it play.
- 27:39Speaker 6: It's pretty cool.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Yeah he did.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I watched it with Jess, which was cool because,
- 27:43Speaker 4: like the Paul's point, like, you know, we know everything right,
- 27:46Speaker 4: like we're really close to it, so it's always cool
- 27:48Speaker 4: to get like her reactions. And she she loved it.
- 27:51Speaker 4: I think the only thing that she said, you know,
- 27:53Speaker 4: she consumes all of our our content, and so some
- 27:56Speaker 4: of the stuff like she had already seen from like
- 27:59Speaker 4: you know, Digs his first day in Campbell's first day
- 28:02Speaker 4: and things like that. But other than that, you know,
- 28:05Speaker 4: she's sat there for the entire seventy two minutes and
- 28:07Speaker 4: watched it with me.
- 28:08Speaker 2: So and again that's the thing you have to remember
- 28:11Speaker 2: that we see everything. Yea, so we're jaded, but most
- 28:15Speaker 2: of the people who watch this they hadn't seen all
- 28:17Speaker 2: that stuff.
- 28:18Speaker 4: Yeah, and she knew it. Maybe she knew what the
- 28:20Speaker 4: practice facility was just because I've talked about it. And
- 28:22Speaker 4: it's good we've talked about it.
- 28:23Speaker 7: But we're jaded, Mike. But even I didn't want rain
- 28:25Speaker 7: on anyone's parade. I enjoyed it.
- 28:28Speaker 6: Plus for friends with weather, it was it's more a
- 28:31Speaker 6: weather thing.
- 28:31Speaker 7: No, it's it's it's good stuff. And I mean, I'm
- 28:34Speaker 7: kind of a sucker for the documentaries. I like documentaries
- 28:37Speaker 7: in general, me too, but I mean, I like what
- 28:40Speaker 7: we did, and I hope we can do more stuff
- 28:42Speaker 7: like it.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I feel like the hard part, Fred is now that
- 28:44Speaker 3: there's a lot of access and footage behind the scenes,
- 28:46Speaker 3: and you're putting out a lot of stuff. It's how
- 28:48Speaker 3: to balance what we've already released with what's going to
- 28:51Speaker 3: be new.
- 28:51Speaker 6: Footage, and you know, just the balance.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Of not you know, well we put out holding things back,
- 28:56Speaker 2: you know.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Holding some things back, but all right, yes we did
- 28:59Speaker 3: put this out on social already, but we're gonna put it,
- 29:01Speaker 3: you know, like the balancing act of all the footage.
- 29:03Speaker 4: And that'd be like what my one nitpick is, like,
- 29:06Speaker 4: how do It's kind of exactly what just said, like,
- 29:08Speaker 4: how do you balance you know, we've already put this
- 29:11Speaker 4: in Will Campbell's first day.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Well, I'll give you an example. Yeah, just on Tuesday,
- 29:15Speaker 2: when I was having my moment, you were telling me
- 29:18Speaker 2: about Morgan Moses speaking from the the you know, I
- 29:24Speaker 2: you know, unfortunately all the media was there, so everyone
- 29:28Speaker 2: saw that. So we were having a meeting yesterday. Go
- 29:32Speaker 2: we're filming every practice right in these OTAs and they're like, yeah,
- 29:35Speaker 2: I go, Okay, let's hope we can get some other
- 29:38Speaker 2: stuff that people haven't seen that they allow us to use.
- 29:42Speaker 4: Yeah, like on these closed days if they're out there longer,
- 29:45Speaker 4: maybe like going and doing stuff like that.
- 29:48Speaker 7: I know by the way that Mike and I were
- 29:49Speaker 7: walking off the field together and I before I left,
- 29:53Speaker 7: when you guys are getting ready to do the show
- 29:54Speaker 7: on Tuesday, I said, you saw that Will Campbell Morgan
- 29:57Speaker 7: Moses thing.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Right, that's I go, that's it. That's that's the thing,
- 30:01Speaker 3: that's goal. Will you'll be pat proud and Paul that
- 30:03Speaker 3: my two headlines. Fred was sitting in here all alone
- 30:05Speaker 3: at this desk doing it, and I said my two
- 30:06Speaker 3: takeaways were Drake Ray through four interceptions and Will Campbell
- 30:09Speaker 3: and Morgan Moses having drinks Kindred spirits, Kindred Spirits. Everybody
- 30:14Speaker 3: was like you could feel the buzz, like because interviews
- 30:16Speaker 3: are going on at the podiums after practice, but no
- 30:18Speaker 3: one was on.
- 30:22Speaker 2: I mean, we were all here and when he came
- 30:25Speaker 2: in and we interviewed him, the same thing. We're all
- 30:28Speaker 2: thinking the same thing. This guy is a leader. This
- 30:31Speaker 2: guy he's a pied piper in a good way. I mean,
- 30:34Speaker 2: you know when Randy Moss was here, he was a
- 30:36Speaker 2: pied piper, but you had to worry where he was
- 30:39Speaker 2: leading people. This guy's going to put him on the
- 30:41Speaker 2: right track. And it's so great to see that he's
- 30:45Speaker 2: already in that role. Yeah, like it took him no
- 30:48Speaker 2: time to be in that role.
- 30:49Speaker 4: I feel like he's going to be a captain. Like
- 30:52Speaker 4: I really feel like he's on that track right now.
- 30:54Speaker 4: And it was it was cool to see. And it's
- 30:57Speaker 4: one of those things too from a media perspective, like
- 30:59Speaker 4: we're not really least supposed to take pictures of the
- 31:02Speaker 4: field in that window like after practice, but so many
- 31:06Speaker 4: people were going up to pr being like can we
- 31:08Speaker 4: we got to take pictures of this like this, Yeah,
- 31:12Speaker 4: so that's why, Yeah, everybody got there, okay, But there
- 31:16Speaker 4: was also you know, over to the other side, just
- 31:19Speaker 4: Kyle Williams and Ft and Chisholm were catching balls on
- 31:21Speaker 4: the judge machine right after practice for maybe ten fifteen minutes,
- 31:26Speaker 4: and Kyle Williams was catching them one handed, like just
- 31:29Speaker 4: like on purpose, like he was trying to he was
- 31:31Speaker 4: practicing that, and so he was catching one handed passes
- 31:34Speaker 4: with his right hand, just over and over and over again.
- 31:37Speaker 4: And uh, it just it seems like there's a bunch
- 31:39Speaker 4: of different guys that were doing that in the back.
- 31:41Speaker 4: I couldn't see who it was, but a couple of
- 31:43Speaker 4: the pass rushers were still doing stuff, you know, in
- 31:46Speaker 4: the back of the field, and like there was there
- 31:48Speaker 4: was good work ethic there, like you could feel, you know,
- 31:50Speaker 4: some urgency.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Yeah, get the extra work. Funny.
- 31:53Speaker 6: I after seeing that picture, I was inspired.
- 31:55Speaker 3: To go back and look at I was just curious,
- 31:57Speaker 3: curious look at Morgan Mo's's scouting report.
- 31:59Speaker 6: I was just I wanted to because we spent so
- 32:01Speaker 6: much time talking about Will Campbell.
- 32:02Speaker 3: First of all, is like I didn't realize he had
- 32:04Speaker 3: thirty five and three eighth inch arms, so I know
- 32:07Speaker 3: a lot. Another thing that some people talked about were
- 32:09Speaker 3: Will Campbell looked, you know, a little small out there.
- 32:11Speaker 6: His shoulders looked a little bit.
- 32:12Speaker 2: His shoulders are narrow.
- 32:14Speaker 6: But it was kno, going to lot. It's also in comparison, yeah, no,
- 32:17Speaker 6: I know.
- 32:18Speaker 7: But it's like when you see him on the field
- 32:20Speaker 7: next to everybody, like it stands out.
- 32:24Speaker 6: Yeah, and I think Fred's right.
- 32:26Speaker 7: I think that's why his arms are shorter, you know,
- 32:29Speaker 7: because I think he has a narrower base.
- 32:31Speaker 3: It's exacerbated though by like Marcus Bryant, who you know,
- 32:34Speaker 3: is like a statue of a man, and then Morgan Moses,
- 32:36Speaker 3: who is also just has the ideal length. But point
- 32:39Speaker 3: I was trying to make was reading his scouting report.
- 32:42Speaker 3: It's nothing like, Oh, what a phenomenal leader.
- 32:43Speaker 2: This guy.
- 32:43Speaker 3: It's like takes plays off like you know, if he can,
- 32:46Speaker 3: if he can get in shape and pull it together,
- 32:48Speaker 3: he'll be good. And there's just a reminder to me
- 32:50Speaker 3: that there's there's gems out there, there's guys you know
- 32:52Speaker 3: that that can develop.
- 32:54Speaker 6: And he arrives here as a leader.
- 32:55Speaker 3: And I don't want to call him a savior, but
- 32:57Speaker 3: I think some people are like God, it's just some stability,
- 33:01Speaker 3: you know, I think. And that to me, like looking
- 33:02Speaker 3: in the Jets sign him last year, tough free agent deal,
- 33:05Speaker 3: and it's like, man, I like that have been a
- 33:07Speaker 3: move to make last year and actually tackle.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Zach and Connecticut. I agree with Fred about having no narrator.
- 33:13Speaker 2: I think it would have been worse having someone tell
- 33:15Speaker 2: us what we're seeing. I do think it did drag
- 33:17Speaker 2: on the transition a little bit, but just a nitpick. Also,
- 33:20Speaker 2: will the Washington Joint practices be available to the public
- 33:23Speaker 2: if they will, Yeah, go to those guys.
- 33:25Speaker 3: If you are looking to go to a preseason game
- 33:27Speaker 3: or do something this summer of the Patriots, come here
- 33:29Speaker 3: for the Commanders Joint practice.
- 33:34Speaker 4: That's a great one talent.
- 33:36Speaker 3: You're not gonna have to pay a bunch of money,
- 33:37Speaker 3: and you know it just come free, fun for the family,
- 33:40Speaker 3: and you get to watch great football, situational stuff and
- 33:43Speaker 3: the talent on I guess Terry McLaurin, though I guess
- 33:45Speaker 3: he's holding out that I heard that yesterday.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Good them.
- 33:50Speaker 6: You get it all into playing that can happened to
- 33:52Speaker 6: other teams were, but we're not playing them.
- 33:54Speaker 2: So Robert writes in after watching the feature, I wanted
- 33:58Speaker 2: to suit up and hit the field, unfortunately, and fit
- 34:00Speaker 2: fifty six, and I'd snapped in half if I tackled anyone.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Great production, But as Paul referred to, I was wondering
- 34:06Speaker 2: what structure was being built. While it did finally dawn
- 34:09Speaker 2: on me that it was the new training center. It
- 34:11Speaker 2: might have been helpful to have some text on the
- 34:13Speaker 2: screen describing what it was. I vote no on a narrator.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm I'm coming around on the narrator thing.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Well, like maybe it was just text, I would.
- 34:21Speaker 6: Just good and to jump on the thing.
- 34:23Speaker 3: But I was just gonna say, like, I can see
- 34:25Speaker 3: a way you could have done it where you're talking
- 34:27Speaker 3: about what's the final product going to look like? And
- 34:29Speaker 3: then you know, Mike Rabel may be saying what we
- 34:31Speaker 3: want the final product, and then compare that to what
- 34:33Speaker 3: the final product at the training center, Like there's got
- 34:36Speaker 3: to be some kind of.
- 34:36Speaker 6: Metaphor that you could kind of use in there without
- 34:38Speaker 6: having a yeah, And I had that like the whole thing.
- 34:41Speaker 7: I had like a quick sentence, you know, much like
- 34:43Speaker 7: you know.
- 34:45Speaker 6: But I got to do with the Leev Schreiber voice.
- 34:48Speaker 7: I'm a little like curious as to why so many
- 34:50Speaker 7: people are anti narrative, right, not because it's counted to
- 34:53Speaker 7: what I'm saying, Because yeah, when I watched like The
- 34:58Speaker 7: Football Lives and you know, those different documents, you know,
- 35:03Speaker 7: I find the narrator to be a big part of my.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yeah, well you have to watch the experience. Yeah, you
- 35:08Speaker 2: have to build it that way, and absolutely like, as
- 35:11Speaker 2: a matter of fact, our lead editor, Nick McCain, has
- 35:14Speaker 2: an amazing voice. He could do like he could absolutely
- 35:17Speaker 2: do it himself. If you is the voice of God,
- 35:19Speaker 2: if we needed a narrator, we've got one.
- 35:21Speaker 6: I met him, he's got it.
- 35:22Speaker 3: I shook his hand as I met him. He said hello,
- 35:24Speaker 3: and I said, have you done voiceover work?
- 35:26Speaker 4: He did it for the sixers. He read like Christmas
- 35:30Speaker 4: books and stuff like that for thinking for kids.
- 35:33Speaker 2: So we've got them. We'll figure out how to get
- 35:35Speaker 2: his voice in there.
- 35:36Speaker 3: He did a voiceover for something I don't remember what internally,
- 35:38Speaker 3: and it like it was him, but it was even
- 35:40Speaker 3: more polished, Like I didn't even realize when he actually
- 35:43Speaker 3: tried how good it could sound. I mean it was like, yeah,
- 35:46Speaker 3: I was telling him. I'm like, that's the best job.
- 35:48Speaker 3: To me in Hollywood, the best jobs are the voiceover people.
- 35:51Speaker 3: They show up, they dress in sweatpants, they'd sit in
- 35:53Speaker 3: front of a microphone for four hours, and then they
- 35:55Speaker 3: go home.
- 35:55Speaker 6: Now nobody knows who they are. They make a ton
- 35:57Speaker 6: of money. That to me is the dream gig.
- 35:59Speaker 7: So I was surprised, Like, you know, there's two or
- 36:02Speaker 7: three people that said, you know, I don't want to.
- 36:03Speaker 7: The last thing I want is a narrator telling me
- 36:05Speaker 7: what I'm watching. Oh so I'd rather not know what
- 36:07Speaker 7: I'm watching.
- 36:08Speaker 2: That's not what they do, that's not what the.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Well I was like, Obviously we're gonna get compared to
- 36:13Speaker 4: Hard Knocks, like for you know, the football thing. But
- 36:15Speaker 4: to me, this is more like Behind the Bee than
- 36:18Speaker 4: it is Hard Knocks. And Behind the Bee is fantastic too.
- 36:21Speaker 4: But they have Dennis Leary, who's a Boston guy, as
- 36:25Speaker 4: a narrator, and that was all I think what we
- 36:27Speaker 4: were kind of thinking of. But this is this is
- 36:30Speaker 4: on track to be exactly like you're Behind the Bees.
- 36:32Speaker 6: Maybe in a shorter show.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Yeah, behind the bea helps move things along a little more,
- 36:37Speaker 3: and you don't Yeah you don't get twenty three minutes
- 36:39Speaker 3: in the thirty minute.
- 36:40Speaker 2: That might be that might be wide Justin says the
- 36:42Speaker 2: second Morgan moses pancakes a guy. All we're going to
- 36:46Speaker 2: hear is father Fred saying, oh Morgan, yeah you got
- 36:50Speaker 2: that right, you got that right. I'll be watching the
- 36:52Speaker 2: old line.
- 36:53Speaker 6: So he turns it to Kram.
- 36:54Speaker 2: You got that right, I do love.
- 36:56Speaker 6: They'll give him last rites on the field that'll be different.
- 37:00Speaker 2: There you go. Now everybody's watching the So did you workshop?
- 37:04Speaker 6: I heard you know, did you just workshop?
- 37:07Speaker 2: This whole thing worked out? I have a long commute pole.
- 37:10Speaker 4: So that's what in case you didn't know it was.
- 37:13Speaker 2: It was good.
- 37:13Speaker 7: I didn't know if that was something that someone wrote in.
- 37:15Speaker 7: I mean that was that was just part of just
- 37:17Speaker 7: count obviously.
- 37:18Speaker 6: I mean I love that. And he was a damn
- 37:19Speaker 6: good one.
- 37:20Speaker 7: That was my my favorite company was a damn good one.
- 37:22Speaker 7: And that and he owed Chicago. He wanted to get
- 37:25Speaker 7: back to Chicago.
- 37:26Speaker 2: And you know Claire, hello everyone, Aliver in Hell. She
- 37:29Speaker 2: said she has an idea for Chicago, Pope. The conclusion
- 37:33Speaker 2: is it turns out he's actually a long term undercover
- 37:36Speaker 2: cup to crack major crimes at the very top of
- 37:38Speaker 2: the church hierarchy. And Father Fred actually a father and
- 37:42Speaker 2: could finally bed the hot nun.
- 37:46Speaker 6: Oh that is a good twist that he's not.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Actually that was get get to know her in a
- 37:51Speaker 2: biblical sense. Man, we're so sackrindgious.
- 38:04Speaker 6: To turn it to an Irish Yeah. Wow, you know
- 38:07Speaker 6: Father Fred Megan with Grandma.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yesh Dana, Virginia and Michigan on podcasts at Patriots
- 38:15Speaker 2: dot Com. We all know that Fred is great and impressions,
- 38:17Speaker 2: but I didn't know he could do an impression of
- 38:19Speaker 2: Meg Ryan. On Tuesday Show, when Deuce and Evan were
- 38:22Speaker 2: describing that Morgan Moses was holding court with Campbell, the
- 38:26Speaker 2: other offensive lineman, Fred started to sound like that scene
- 38:28Speaker 2: in the coffee shop when Harry met Sally. I'll have
- 38:31Speaker 2: what Fred's having. I'm having Morgan.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Yes, I was surprised, but it's good reason. I mean,
- 38:37Speaker 3: I think we're all a little beaten down from the
- 38:40Speaker 3: tackle struggles of the last five years, and we're all
- 38:43Speaker 3: excited to hopefully put that to rest and maybe get
- 38:46Speaker 3: that as a position of stability, like.
- 38:48Speaker 2: The offensive line now, Morgan, all right, eight five five
- 38:54Speaker 2: pats five hundred is the a Sticke and Hut line.
- 38:56Speaker 2: We're having fun here talking Forge and Foxborg, We're talking
- 38:59Speaker 2: O two were talking just about anything. Let's go to
- 39:05Speaker 2: Todd in Gardner.
- 39:07Speaker 10: Hey, Todd, Hey guys, how are you doing?
- 39:11Speaker 4: Keeps changing?
- 39:12Speaker 10: It's been a great show.
- 39:15Speaker 2: A little bit of I.
- 39:16Speaker 10: Don't want I'm just a little bit against the whole
- 39:18Speaker 10: thing that this team is going to do. Basically, as
- 39:22Speaker 10: Mac progresses, because I think when we first got Brady,
- 39:25Speaker 10: Brady was allowed to progress at his own pace and
- 39:27Speaker 10: it won't speed because the team around him could give
- 39:29Speaker 10: him that comfort level of being in there and you know,
- 39:32Speaker 10: being able to make mistakes. I think that our guys
- 39:36Speaker 10: gonna but not I'm just entire sorry, guys, it's been
- 39:39Speaker 10: doing immigration stuff.
- 39:40Speaker 11: My brain is bride.
- 39:42Speaker 10: But Drake May is gonna evolve based on the opportunities
- 39:46Speaker 10: given and with this defense and what we've got around him,
- 39:49Speaker 10: you know, I think he'll be able to make the mistakes,
- 39:52Speaker 10: do the stuff that he needs to learn, because I
- 39:53Speaker 10: don't think it's all going to be on him. And
- 39:55Speaker 10: I just you know, I've heard this a couple of times.
- 39:57Speaker 10: It's the whole season's all based on his progression. I
- 39:59Speaker 10: think there's some part to that, but I think it's
- 40:02Speaker 10: too much focused just on that. What do you guys think?
- 40:05Speaker 1: All right?
- 40:05Speaker 2: Thanks? Now listen. I know everyone has to play their part,
- 40:10Speaker 2: but it does rest a lot on his progression. And
- 40:14Speaker 2: I disagree a little bit with what Todd said about
- 40:17Speaker 2: Brady the day he stepped on the field. It was
- 40:20Speaker 2: hammered into do not turn the ball over. I mean,
- 40:23Speaker 2: don't turn the don't make mistakes. It wasn't go ahead
- 40:26Speaker 2: and make mistakes and we'll we'll, we'll give you a
- 40:30Speaker 2: long landing, you know, don't turn the ball over.
- 40:35Speaker 7: He was largely responsible for the turnaround. I mean, it's
- 40:38Speaker 7: right again, there is no bigger Drew Bledsoe fan than me.
- 40:42Speaker 7: When Drew played, they were five and thirteen. When Brady
- 40:46Speaker 7: came in, it was fourteen and three. Like it happened immediately.
- 40:50Speaker 7: And yes, the team was good. The team around Brady
- 40:54Speaker 7: was good. But Brady's what Fred just said, Brady's inability
- 40:59Speaker 7: to turn the ball over. I mean, what did you
- 41:00Speaker 7: go like four games before even threw a pick?
- 41:02Speaker 1: Right?
- 41:03Speaker 6: You know? Then he threw four and one quarter in Denver.
- 41:05Speaker 7: But you know that was largely the reason why that
- 41:09Speaker 7: team was successful was because the mistakes that Drew was
- 41:12Speaker 7: making were eliminated when Brady went in.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:14Speaker 4: Yeah, And just like more recently, Washington doesn't do what
- 41:17Speaker 4: they did last year without Jayden Daniels being basically almost
- 41:21Speaker 4: an MVP candidate as a rookie. Now, nobody's expecting Drake
- 41:24Speaker 4: to be an MVP candidate. But the point is is
- 41:27Speaker 4: that that, unfortunately is the pressure of being the quarterback
- 41:31Speaker 4: like that it's on his shoulders.
- 41:33Speaker 6: And I would just say it's not.
- 41:34Speaker 7: I don't think people are saying that it's all reliant
- 41:37Speaker 7: on Drake May's progression, but the ceiling, but the ceiling,
- 41:41Speaker 7: but Drake made doesn't progress, then they're going to be
- 41:43Speaker 7: average at best. Right And I don't care how good
- 41:45Speaker 7: the team is, they'll be average at best because you
- 41:47Speaker 7: need the quarterback to get you to another level. And
- 41:50Speaker 7: I also don't think as much as I'm really happy
- 41:52Speaker 7: and excited we just talked about forging Fox Bowl and
- 41:55Speaker 7: all the things that they added, whether it be in
- 41:57Speaker 7: free agency or the draft, you ain't get that much
- 42:00Speaker 7: better that it's not going to matter if the quarterback
- 42:04Speaker 7: isn't isn't making a progression. You know, it's not like
- 42:07Speaker 7: they're just stacked across the board. We've seen the Jets
- 42:09Speaker 7: and Brad Johnson and the Buccaneers, like the Jets have
- 42:12Speaker 7: had some teams the last year or two that have
- 42:14Speaker 7: been pretty good in a lot of areas, but the
- 42:16Speaker 7: quarterback is holding it back and they go five and
- 42:18Speaker 7: eleven or five or whatever, five and twelve.
- 42:20Speaker 2: I guess.
- 42:21Speaker 7: So you can be really good, but if your quarterback
- 42:25Speaker 7: play isn't at least average, You're going to be sort
- 42:29Speaker 7: of ye fighting, fighting an uphill battle.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Randy's in Providence. What's up, Randy? Randy?
- 42:37Speaker 4: Randy?
- 42:39Speaker 2: Come on, it hasn't been that long. All right, you're gone? Hello,
- 42:44Speaker 2: what's going on? Turn up your Internet?
- 42:47Speaker 11: Sorry, well that I hit a mute button on accident.
- 42:51Speaker 11: I had a couple questions for you guys at the
- 42:54Speaker 11: end of the season last season, maybe if the off
- 42:57Speaker 11: season was starting, there's been a lot of talk about
- 43:00Speaker 11: shortage of kind of support staff.
- 43:03Speaker 10: Uh, the staff.
- 43:04Speaker 12: Overall just being a lot smaller in New England than
- 43:07Speaker 12: it is in other places, maybe with the analytics department,
- 43:12Speaker 12: but other areas also.
- 43:14Speaker 10: And I didn't know.
- 43:15Speaker 12: If you guys knew if that staff was also being
- 43:17Speaker 12: built out, Like obviously we hear all the coaching changes
- 43:20Speaker 12: and news and stuff like that, but you guys know
- 43:23Speaker 12: if that is being addressed.
- 43:25Speaker 11: And then did you guys see the top twenty five
- 43:28Speaker 11: under twenty five lists put out by PFF.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Yes, top under twenty five, yeah.
- 43:34Speaker 11: Top twenty five.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Being yeah that someone's very upset on the by week
- 43:40Speaker 3: one okay.
- 43:43Speaker 12: But no Gonzales and no May and you got the
- 43:46Speaker 12: prized by that.
- 43:47Speaker 2: And then I dismissed the list.
- 43:48Speaker 4: I don't Drake may not be on there. He doesn't
- 43:51Speaker 4: belong on right, Christian Gonzales belongs on the list.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Christian Gonzales, I think you can make a strong argument.
- 43:56Speaker 11: Yeah, one hundred percent agreed.
- 43:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:58Speaker 11: And then last question for you guys. Someone I think
- 44:01Speaker 11: it was Alex Maybe had mentioned that cool Strange. He
- 44:04Speaker 11: thought he had bulked up a little bit, gotten a
- 44:07Speaker 11: little bigger, maybe in response to the needs of Josh
- 44:10Speaker 11: McDaniels on the offensive line. Did you guys notice that?
- 44:13Speaker 11: And then outside of the pictures, did you guys see
- 44:15Speaker 11: Marvin Harrison Junior put on like twenty or twenty five
- 44:18Speaker 11: pounds and the guy looks like a defensive end.
- 44:21Speaker 6: Now, I saw the video. I saw the videos I saw.
- 44:26Speaker 2: I wonder how we did that?
- 44:27Speaker 6: Is that skinless chicken?
- 44:28Speaker 3: Oh yeah, twenty five it's funny say that, Randy Is.
- 44:31Speaker 3: I saw that video and I didn't. I didn't see
- 44:33Speaker 3: hear it. It just came like the video and I
- 44:35Speaker 3: was like, geez, he looks big.
- 44:36Speaker 6: So David Boston, like former Cardinals receiver.
- 44:40Speaker 4: Yeah, we talked a little bit about cold Strange yesterday
- 44:43Speaker 4: on Catch twenty two, and I just thought his upper
- 44:45Speaker 4: body maybe looked a little bit bigger. But I'm not
- 44:49Speaker 4: saying that he's like, all of a sudden three hundred
- 44:50Speaker 4: and forty pounds, but like I thought it like beer
- 44:52Speaker 4: he drank general a little bigger. I also thought Gonzo
- 44:56Speaker 4: looked jacked, so I would.
- 44:58Speaker 6: I'm glad you brought him out.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Randy.
- 45:00Speaker 7: Two guys that I thought looked noticeably bigger, one of
- 45:02Speaker 7: them really positively and one of them not so positively.
- 45:05Speaker 6: And Gonzalez is the one I thought, I.
- 45:07Speaker 7: Absolutely agree with you, you know, not not to go
- 45:10Speaker 7: all Mike do so on you. But I was like, wow,
- 45:13Speaker 7: look at the size of his arms. I thought he
- 45:15Speaker 7: looked like I thought he had put on some some
- 45:17Speaker 7: bulk up top.
- 45:19Speaker 6: And Michael went, who I thought looked heavy?
- 45:22Speaker 2: Me too. Gene is a retired producer slash director out
- 45:26Speaker 2: of Ottawa, Canada. O uh, and he says, I think
- 45:30Speaker 2: it's a he I'm taking a leak there, j E A.
- 45:34Speaker 6: N maybe Jean Jean Jean francois.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Regarding the use of a narrator in your documentary,
- 45:39Speaker 2: I've always much preferred having the on camera subject tell
- 45:42Speaker 2: the story and using minimally on screen graphics to guide
- 45:46Speaker 2: the viewer. Using a narrator narrator will take away the
- 45:49Speaker 2: cinema verite feel of your documentary. It will become the
- 45:53Speaker 2: voice of big Brother telling you what they want you
- 45:56Speaker 2: to know. It shifts the perspective of the message you're
- 45:59Speaker 2: trying to deliver to your audience. Cinema verite is more believable,
- 46:04Speaker 2: and the audience feels less manipulated. I love it.
- 46:06Speaker 6: I'm back in film school.
- 46:07Speaker 7: Can I ask you, as as someone who's completely ignorant
- 46:10Speaker 7: to this stuff, what is the definition of cinema verite?
- 46:14Speaker 2: So?
- 46:14Speaker 6: I think, well, verite, truth, just realism, I would say.
- 46:18Speaker 2: And I so you don't feel manip So it's your
- 46:21Speaker 2: interpretation and not the narrator.
- 46:23Speaker 7: So why is the narrator? First of all, it's not
- 46:25Speaker 7: the narrator's interpretation. It's a script.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Well I know, but he's telling you.
- 46:28Speaker 7: Well okay, it's not. But it's not like telling the listener.
- 46:34Speaker 7: I mean telling the viewer that the construction that's going
- 46:37Speaker 7: on behind you is actually the new training facility.
- 46:40Speaker 6: Is not like leading the viewer where you wanted to go. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 46:45Speaker 6: it's telling the facts.
- 46:46Speaker 7: Well, she's talking in general, but that's all I want
- 46:48Speaker 7: the narrator to do. I don't want the narrator to
- 46:51Speaker 7: say this team is a lot better than you think
- 46:53Speaker 7: it is. That's not what narrators do when documentaries.
- 46:57Speaker 3: I think Jean Jean is maybe just saying show, don't tell.
- 47:01Speaker 3: That's just an an always thing that you try to do. Yeah,
- 47:04Speaker 3: and if you get to a point where you're like,
- 47:06Speaker 3: I gotta tell, But I would say, like for myself,
- 47:08Speaker 3: if I was an editor trying to figure that out,
- 47:10Speaker 3: I would be like, well, how can I tell that
- 47:12Speaker 3: this is what this construction project is without having to
- 47:15Speaker 3: have someone come in and be like that's the construction product.
- 47:17Speaker 4: Well, so I feel like for this one, it did
- 47:19Speaker 4: like the narrator maybe wasn't necessary, Maybe just graphics over
- 47:23Speaker 4: some of the things that Paul has talked about. Yeah,
- 47:26Speaker 4: but that's why I do wonder like when we go
- 47:28Speaker 4: into the next one, when it's like more player and
- 47:31Speaker 4: coach driven, you know, you kind of set it up
- 47:34Speaker 4: like the Bruins are preparing for the you.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Know, but I kind of feel now that we've gone
- 47:38Speaker 2: the route of no narrator, you got to stick to.
- 47:40Speaker 7: And if you don't want the narrator, like my my
- 47:43Speaker 7: preference would be the narrator. But I can totally say, okay,
- 47:47Speaker 7: you know the people have spoken. Everybody is you know,
- 47:49Speaker 7: finds the net. I just don't understand why a narrator
- 47:52Speaker 7: giving you the facts is not true to life, but
- 47:56Speaker 7: the Scouts telling you their version of facts. It's yeah,
- 48:01Speaker 7: isn't like the Scouts and opinion of Kyle Williams. The
- 48:04Speaker 7: Scout's opinion, Like, how do I know that's true? But
- 48:07Speaker 7: I'm taking it as as the word because that's what
- 48:09Speaker 7: they're telling me.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Well, maybe as a filmmaker too, you want people to
- 48:13Speaker 3: take it for themselves and you know, not give them
- 48:16Speaker 3: try not to point arrows at things and just let
- 48:19Speaker 3: them be able to experience it themselves without you know,
- 48:22Speaker 3: letting their viewing experience be their viewing experience, without saying
- 48:25Speaker 3: I want to make sure that this is how you're
- 48:26Speaker 3: viewing it the whole time.
- 48:27Speaker 6: I mean, there's a way to do it both. I love
- 48:28Speaker 6: there's some documentaries.
- 48:29Speaker 7: Like my point is, this is how the patriots, the
- 48:31Speaker 7: twenty twenty five Patriots are being constructed in this way,
- 48:35Speaker 7: and the story is being told by the patriots, Like,
- 48:40Speaker 7: why is that true to life? That's how the patriots
- 48:43Speaker 7: are doing it. That's the patriots thoughts, Like there's sort
- 48:46Speaker 7: of a like a I don't want to say an opinion,
- 48:51Speaker 7: but there's sort of a viewpoint in every documentary.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not like blatant. This is the fact. It's
- 48:59Speaker 2: documentaries are different than just pure art. I remember having this.
- 49:03Speaker 2: That's why, you know, an artist presents their work to
- 49:08Speaker 2: the world without explanation. Let the world interpret it. Don't
- 49:13Speaker 2: say and here's what I you know, and that's what
- 49:16Speaker 2: you know. A lot of artists don't. They don't give
- 49:19Speaker 2: you what they want to do. They let you interpret it.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Like I can't have leaneries are different.
- 49:23Speaker 7: I can't have Leev Schreiber tell me what the building is,
- 49:26Speaker 7: but I can have what was the scout's name that
- 49:28Speaker 7: said about Tucker Addington? Tell me that Kyle Williams was
- 49:32Speaker 7: the best receiver. That's a long snapper, isn't he?
- 49:36Speaker 4: Yeah, you named the long snap, right.
- 49:38Speaker 7: So you know, And I like, I apologize. I don't
- 49:41Speaker 7: know all the scouts by name.
- 49:43Speaker 6: I don't.
- 49:43Speaker 2: We don't ever.
- 49:44Speaker 6: This is like the first time we've ever really gotten
- 49:46Speaker 6: a city.
- 49:46Speaker 7: Like we've never been allowed to talk to them.
- 49:49Speaker 4: Tucker Ingram.
- 49:50Speaker 7: Tucker is Ingram, Okay, so he can say that Kyle
- 49:54Speaker 7: Williams was the best receiver in the Senior Bowl and
- 49:56Speaker 7: no one has any objection. But if Leof Schreiber says
- 49:59Speaker 7: that building that you that we keep showing you is
- 50:01Speaker 7: actually the new training facility, we object to that because
- 50:05Speaker 7: we're leading the viewer in a way like, well, I
- 50:07Speaker 7: mean like to me, but I think.
- 50:09Speaker 2: It's about what you're using.
- 50:12Speaker 6: A specific like the.
- 50:13Speaker 2: Narrator would not be used for that. It would be
- 50:15Speaker 2: used for like others.
- 50:17Speaker 7: Like I had told you, like the Voice of God
- 50:19Speaker 7: comes in and says, much like the the new training
- 50:22Speaker 7: facility that's under construction behind your Lette Stadium, Mike Rabel
- 50:26Speaker 7: in the twenty twenty five Patriots that are a work
- 50:29Speaker 7: in progress or something like that.
- 50:30Speaker 6: I totally get what you're saying, Paul, And I think says.
- 50:33Speaker 7: It's not like I think the Patriots are going to
- 50:35Speaker 7: go twelve and five this year, right, And I just.
- 50:37Speaker 3: Think John has a preference of how they would like
- 50:41Speaker 3: to tell things. But ultimately it's the creative choice of
- 50:43Speaker 3: how you want to tell the story and how you
- 50:44Speaker 3: can best tell the story. So there's no one way
- 50:47Speaker 3: to do the documentaries, Like no, documentaries have to have
- 50:49Speaker 3: a door.
- 50:49Speaker 7: And that's why I would fully service take and say, hey,
- 50:52Speaker 7: that's just my preference and I'm not like a specific
- 50:55Speaker 7: fact that.
- 50:55Speaker 6: You want to make sure it gets across.
- 50:57Speaker 3: You don't want to insert a narrator in the whole
- 50:58Speaker 3: documentary just because there's a certain fact that you can't
- 51:01Speaker 3: think of a creative way to show what it is
- 51:03Speaker 3: and you know what the metaphor is.
- 51:05Speaker 6: So but I mean there were documentaries I love with narrators.
- 51:07Speaker 3: There are ones that I love where it's just interviews
- 51:09Speaker 3: and it unfolds slowly and you you know.
- 51:11Speaker 6: Kind of take it for what it's worth. So I mean,
- 51:12Speaker 6: that's you're totally right.
- 51:13Speaker 3: It's just a preference, and it's a preference to the
- 51:16Speaker 3: director and the producer, like a truth and cinema thing.
- 51:18Speaker 2: No, yeah, but like no, you take Ken Burns for example,
- 51:22Speaker 2: you know Baseball, which I thought was a great documentary
- 51:25Speaker 2: that could not live without it. Now, writer, right, you know,
- 51:27Speaker 2: you had to have a narrator.
- 51:29Speaker 6: I love those things with like they're reading the Civil
- 51:31Speaker 6: War letters.
- 51:32Speaker 3: But no, that's I mean that's like I said, I've
- 51:34Speaker 3: done projects before where you're wondering, like can I do
- 51:37Speaker 3: like my thesis film, like what do I do new
- 51:38Speaker 3: narrator or not?
- 51:39Speaker 6: And this is what I'll have to do. If I how,
- 51:41Speaker 6: I'll have to explain it.
- 51:42Speaker 2: If not so.
- 51:43Speaker 3: But I think probably what John's preference is is they
- 51:47Speaker 3: like that style. Yeah, just realism unfolding for you. I
- 51:51Speaker 3: expect that, and that's their their their thing. But I
- 51:53Speaker 3: don't think Hard Knocks would work. And certainly behind the
- 51:56Speaker 3: B it's too hard and too you know, in twenty
- 51:57Speaker 3: two minutes to tell a whole story of everything that's
- 52:00Speaker 3: going on without Dennis Leary.
- 52:01Speaker 2: So just what fits? I just felt here. He was
- 52:04Speaker 2: one of my professors in college, Dennis Leary Emerson comedy writer.
- 52:09Speaker 3: Fail, so he could be in Father Fred. I think
- 52:11Speaker 3: we could probably reach out to you.
- 52:13Speaker 2: At the time he was trying to quit smoking. He
- 52:15Speaker 2: would literally get on the desk like a bird and
- 52:18Speaker 2: teach the class perched on a desk.
- 52:21Speaker 7: Remember like the MTB just had a teacher in high
- 52:24Speaker 7: school that smoked like a fiend and did exactly the
- 52:27Speaker 7: same thing. He would sit on his desk criss cross applesauce,
- 52:30Speaker 7: and when the principal would walk by the hall, he
- 52:33Speaker 7: would flick the cigarettes right out the window front of
- 52:35Speaker 7: the desk.
- 52:35Speaker 3: Well remember that, Like, was it MTV or something that
- 52:38Speaker 3: I think you hear me and I'm coming in. It's
- 52:39Speaker 3: just Dennis Leary sucking cigarettes down like it's a possible.
- 52:42Speaker 2: He was trying to quit that. He was he was
- 52:45Speaker 2: on something else he could He was like, I think
- 52:47Speaker 2: he might be the best.
- 52:48Speaker 3: He could be the bad guy, he could be the
- 52:49Speaker 3: antagonist in Father Fred. I mean, that's a high power actor.
- 52:52Speaker 3: He's got a little edge to him, you know, so
- 52:55Speaker 3: probably I think he's an Irish Catholic. Anyway, he's ready
- 52:57Speaker 3: to operate in.
- 52:58Speaker 7: Yeah, now with to Boston. That's not from Chicago.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Donnie Walburn has another Boston top show coming out, something
- 53:08Speaker 2: Boston Blue. Yeah, origin uh me and freds noo. What's up? Speed?
- 53:14Speaker 10: What's up?
- 53:15Speaker 13: Listening to you guys talk about cinema verite and the
- 53:18Speaker 13: art of narration and whatnot. I'm just like, man, so
- 53:21Speaker 13: happy Eric's not here.
- 53:25Speaker 2: We have the conversation. You all know nothing. That's your imagine.
- 53:29Speaker 7: Can you imagine if Eric just heard me, like sound
- 53:32Speaker 7: like a moron like about talking about what by the way,
- 53:36Speaker 7: I know what the words meant.
- 53:37Speaker 6: I wanted to know what the application to read.
- 53:39Speaker 3: The story to you, so just me like he doesn't
- 53:44Speaker 3: get it to him.
- 53:47Speaker 13: Then again, Eric as a narrator.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the possibility. Sure I can see it.
- 53:53Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely awful, awful.
- 53:57Speaker 7: I've often pondered construction that takes place in this world.
- 54:07Speaker 14: He never have ye today, no football.
- 54:17Speaker 13: So with May you're hoping he follows the like generally
- 54:21Speaker 13: the Josh Allen pattern, you're overcoming some early accuracy or
- 54:25Speaker 13: like physical issues in the passing game. But but he's
- 54:28Speaker 13: being asked to do that at the same time when
- 54:30Speaker 13: you got Josh McDaniels, you know, relatively complicated offense coming in,
- 54:35Speaker 13: and you know Josh Allen had Brian Dable for years
- 54:37Speaker 13: from the start. And I'm very happy that Josh McDaniels
- 54:40Speaker 13: is coaching Drake, But it seems like it's already challenging
- 54:43Speaker 13: enough to try and do the sort of Josh Allen
- 54:45Speaker 13: thing where you more or less fix your accuracy, and
- 54:47Speaker 13: now you're asking Drake to do something like that while
- 54:50Speaker 13: onboarding what pretty complicated playbook.
- 54:54Speaker 2: It's the same offense yeah. See, honestly, I don't know
- 54:56Speaker 2: what they're telling Drake to do, you know, like, are
- 54:59Speaker 2: they unloading all this stuff and making it too complex
- 55:01Speaker 2: right now?
- 55:02Speaker 4: I don't know that well, But it's the same offense,
- 55:04Speaker 4: Brian Dable.
- 55:05Speaker 2: How are they presenting it? Like at what? Like sure,
- 55:08Speaker 2: how much of the playbook are they into at this point?
- 55:10Speaker 4: But Josh Allen was running the same offense in Buffalo
- 55:13Speaker 4: under stable that that the Patriots are running now. So,
- 55:17Speaker 4: I mean Brady's talked about it that he he knows
- 55:20Speaker 4: Josh Allen's calls because it's the same calls that.
- 55:23Speaker 2: He would use.
- 55:24Speaker 6: Because that's digs about it, you can asks about it.
- 55:26Speaker 13: Yeah, So you don't think that this is more of
- 55:28Speaker 13: a challenge to Drake now with the change of the
- 55:30Speaker 13: offensive coordinator.
- 55:31Speaker 4: I don't know, no, I I yeah, I mean I
- 55:33Speaker 4: made that point earlier, But I'm just making the point
- 55:35Speaker 4: that if we're comparing to Josh Allen, they're they're running now,
- 55:39Speaker 4: they're in the same system, like did this stable system
- 55:42Speaker 4: and McDaniel's offense are the same offense. So if oh, okay, yeah, thanks.
- 55:48Speaker 3: B it's a challenge, but it's a challenge to Drake
- 55:52Speaker 3: like you have to, you have to acknowledge it.
- 55:54Speaker 2: And it's a lot on him this year, and it's
- 55:55Speaker 2: it's a it's a tough.
- 55:56Speaker 6: Challenge, no question.
- 55:57Speaker 3: No.
- 55:58Speaker 2: When Toronto says Einstein's the definition of genius is taking
- 56:02Speaker 2: the complex and making it simple. I worry that McDaniels
- 56:06Speaker 2: is making the simple, run fast, throw hard complex for Drake.
- 56:10Speaker 2: See I don't.
- 56:11Speaker 3: I just everything that he said again, And this goes
- 56:14Speaker 3: back to just plopping the twenty nineteen playbook and being
- 56:16Speaker 3: like good luck, Like I just I think Josh understands
- 56:19Speaker 3: that he has to teach Drake this bit by bit
- 56:22Speaker 3: and learning little piece at a time, and even though
- 56:24Speaker 3: it's a little bumpy along the way, he's not gonna
- 56:27Speaker 3: I mean, these guys are teachers. This is what they
- 56:29Speaker 3: spend all their time. How can I get my guys
- 56:31Speaker 3: to learn the playbook?
- 56:32Speaker 2: Coaching is teaching.
- 56:33Speaker 7: It's huge, Like that is everything to them. I think
- 56:35Speaker 7: that's in question. I think the playbook is not going
- 56:39Speaker 7: to be twenty nineteen, Like it's not going to be
- 56:42Speaker 7: Fred's used to use this all the time, like Tom
- 56:45Speaker 7: Brady is like advanced level calculus. Like it's not going
- 56:49Speaker 7: to start where Tom Brady ended, But the very basics
- 56:54Speaker 7: of the Josh Midniel lawfense requires a certain aptitude on
- 56:59Speaker 7: the part of the quarterback, and it's not you know,
- 57:01Speaker 7: this goes back to it's the air hot system that
- 57:03Speaker 7: Charlie Weiss brought in and all that stuff, and Brady had.
- 57:09Speaker 6: A very easy transition to it. He took to it
- 57:12Speaker 6: very easily. Not every quarterback will. I don't have any idea, well,
- 57:16Speaker 6: how Drake may will.
- 57:17Speaker 7: I'm not talking about the level of sophistication that the
- 57:20Speaker 7: offense wound up, but the base part of it, I
- 57:23Speaker 7: think is a little bit more complicated than most offenses,
- 57:25Speaker 7: and I don't know how that's gonna happ I wondered.
- 57:28Speaker 4: By putting on the quarterback everything pre snapped, Well, Evan.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Do you know and at you and see if any
- 57:33Speaker 2: of his years that he was making the calls as
- 57:36Speaker 2: opposed to.
- 57:37Speaker 4: His last year, they put more on his plate in
- 57:40Speaker 4: terms of making protection calls and things like that. Was
- 57:43Speaker 4: it one hundred percent? I don't know the answer to that,
- 57:46Speaker 4: but he was. His coaches told me that they were
- 57:48Speaker 4: making a lot of the call. He was making a
- 57:50Speaker 4: lot of the calls and doing a lot of that
- 57:52Speaker 4: kind of stuff. They ran much more. His first year
- 57:55Speaker 4: as a starter under Phil Longo was a college style
- 57:58Speaker 4: air raid like it was a true college offense. And
- 58:01Speaker 4: when they brought in Longo's replacement, I'm blanking on his
- 58:05Speaker 4: name right now. When they brought him in, it became
- 58:08Speaker 4: more pro style, So it became more of what you
- 58:11Speaker 4: run in the NFL, and the quarterback had more responsibility
- 58:16Speaker 4: at the well, Clyde Christensen was an assistant on the staff. Yeah,
- 58:21Speaker 4: and so they did more of that kind of stuff
- 58:23Speaker 4: at North Carolina, and then last year, obviously it was
- 58:26Speaker 4: the center that was making all the calls in Alex
- 58:28Speaker 4: Van Peltz offense. So that's what I worry about a
- 58:31Speaker 4: little bit. I'm not saying it's like I'm panicked about it,
- 58:34Speaker 4: but it's just right now, that's something that I'm watching.
- 58:39Speaker 4: I'm watching for because I know Drake May is a
- 58:42Speaker 4: fantastic thrower of the football. I know he's a great athlete.
- 58:45Speaker 4: I know he's got all the physical tools in the
- 58:47Speaker 4: world to be a franchise quarterback. I don't know if
- 58:51Speaker 4: he's a director. I don't know if he's one of
- 58:54Speaker 4: those guys that is comfortable getting to the line of scrimmage,
- 58:58Speaker 4: sniffing things out, moving protection, you know, reconfiguring formations, getting
- 59:02Speaker 4: guys lined up in the right places is the easiest
- 59:04Speaker 4: way to say it. I don't know if he's that
- 59:07Speaker 4: like I don't like Brady was that, Peyton Manning was that.
- 59:10Speaker 4: I don't know if that's his superpower. His superpower might
- 59:14Speaker 4: just be the raw tools, whereas with Brady his superpower
- 59:17Speaker 4: was his brain.
- 59:18Speaker 2: And so we'll find out. We'll see.
- 59:21Speaker 3: I think you put that out great. I mean, that's
- 59:23Speaker 3: everything you said. I totally agree with. And I just
- 59:25Speaker 3: I just wonder if people feel like, well, Drake may
- 59:28Speaker 3: could be an elite quarterback, but not with this offense,
- 59:31Speaker 3: not with too much on him, you know, is.
- 59:32Speaker 7: That I go your point, Yeah, if he can't think
- 59:36Speaker 7: to a level that you.
- 59:38Speaker 2: Need to, he can't be an elite quarterback.
- 59:40Speaker 7: I don't think that you can just be so physically
- 59:43Speaker 7: gifted that it doesn't matter if you're reading anything or
- 59:46Speaker 7: making these kinds of pre snap decisions that Evan's talking about.
- 59:49Speaker 7: You don't have to be Tom Brady, but you can't
- 59:53Speaker 7: not have an ability to do it. And I've seen
- 59:55Speaker 7: no indications that that Drake may doesn't have the ability
- 59:58Speaker 7: to do it. We saw him as the year went
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: on last year. How many times is he directing people?
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: You know, guy in wrong places?
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Your guy?
- 1:00:07Speaker 7: Which one, Kendrick Bourne, My bad, bad, I got that.
- 1:00:13Speaker 10: You know?
- 1:00:13Speaker 7: How many times was he changing you know, you're there,
- 1:00:15Speaker 7: You're supposed to be over there in the slot.
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: You're supposed to be out wide?
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: You know, he has an aptitude for the position.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: And I'm not.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: Worried about post snap like, I think he reads coverage well,
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: I think he sees rotation well, like all that kind
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: of stuff. I'm not concerned about it, just the pre
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: snaps that we just haven't seen him do it at
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: this level because he wasn't necessarily doing it to this
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: level last year.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: So it's just an unknown. Yeah, David's out in New Mexico.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: Loved the show. He says, with all the talk about
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: McDaniel's offense impacting may the receivers and the running backs,
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: how does the new offense change how the offensive line blocks?
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: And to Paul Saucer, gravy, gravy, it's not it's not
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: gravy anyway. How does it affect the offensive line?
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: Well, I mean, if we want to if you're talking
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: about scheme and the actual blocks are being asked to
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: execute versus like the verbiage of the offense, those are,
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: you know, two different things. But from a verbiage perspective,
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: I've heard that this offense is actually easier in a
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: lot of ways from a protection standpoint than other offenses
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: because they use numbers, and the numbers coincide with how
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: many blockers you have in the protection, so you do
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: fifty sixty seventies protections, five sixty seven man protects. So
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: that way there when they say, you know, they'll read
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: out the play and then they'll have a number to
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: the protection that's giving the protection scheme, it tells you
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: within the number how many guys are in the protection,
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: and it kind of puts it into a family of protection.
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: So I've heard that that is a strength of this system,
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: that it works that way. And the only thing really
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: from a protection standpoint that is a little challenging is
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: is blitz pick up from a running back because they're
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: dual reading, so most of the time they are reading
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: off of two guys and you have to make a
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: decision post snap based off of who's coming and who's
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: dropping and things like.
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: That, so quick little aside totally off topic of what
- 1:02:05Speaker 7: but we did no socks And I sat down with
- 1:02:07Speaker 7: Craig James today to record one of our latest installment
- 1:02:12Speaker 7: of Pats from the Past. And one of the things
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: he talked about, so Patriots fans might not remember, but
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: Craig James came from SMU under Ron Meyer, you know,
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: and he was part of the Pony Express backfield. But
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: that was the introduction of Dante Scarnekia to the Patriots.
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: When Ron Meyer came from SMU to become head coach
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: of the Patriots, he took along with him Dante Scarnekia
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: and one of the things that he talked about, ev
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: was how confusing Craig James talked about how confusing past
- 1:02:42Speaker 7: protection was for the running backs. They had a lot
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: of if thens yep was the way he explained it,
- 1:02:47Speaker 7: and Dante completely streamlined it all and made it so simple.
- 1:02:52Speaker 7: That made it so simple, and that was you know,
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: that was one of the things that was one of
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: the takeaways from our talk.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: We'll have that probably that's great soon, but.
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: Yeah, it's just interesting to I mean, most of our
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: Patch from the Past are more more recent and part
- 1:03:08Speaker 7: of the Dynasty years. This was a little bit of
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: a wayback machine.
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: It was great. He was a great Tell.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Mike, you're working on something, well, I've been on in
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: nineteen eighty five, like crazy. I mean, I'm at least
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: gonna writ an article for the Game Day magazine I
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: and we'll see if I do anything else with it.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: But talked to Craig James today, who was my favorite
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: player growing up. So that was pretty cool to finally
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: meet him. I picked thirty two in high school and
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: I told you guys, but just for the listeners. Cool
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: moment after you guys did the interview, I was walking
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: him out. The Patriots were walking out for practice and
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: Travon Henderson came wearing thirty two and Craig James just
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: went up to It was like.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Hey man, I wore number thirty two Craig James in
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: the eighties.
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: And Trevon Henderson was like, really cool.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: I'm so mad at myself or not.
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: This would be great. Great on Twitter, you got wait.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: I know I would say it happened so fast, but
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: it's just really cool moment night cool.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: Did we body camp right? Yes?
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: Well did you have your body camera?
- 1:03:57Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: Right? No, I didn't, but said he said hello to
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Rabel as well, and I talked to Raymond Clayborne outstanding
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: cornerback as well.
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: So yeah, it's just fun for me watching going back
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: to those games.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: I watched a lot of the TV copy and it's
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: crazy because there's no first down marker.
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: They barely show the clock.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: They barely show the scoreboard, so half the time you're
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: watching it, like I don't.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: Know how much time.
- 1:04:14Speaker 7: Know what they had back then when you watch the games,
- 1:04:17Speaker 7: you had what they used to call the ten minute ticker,
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: uh huh, and every ten minutes they will put the
- 1:04:21Speaker 7: scores up from out of town.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you had to wait, wait ten minutes.
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: We'll find out whenever they show, like you know, you
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: watch like the nineteen eighty six NBA Finals or something
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: like that, they don't leave the score back. I know
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: it's so and it will literally be like one oh three,
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: one oh two with five seconds to go in the game,
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: like the biggest play in the season.
- 1:04:42Speaker 7: You know, put a little square with the clock, but
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: you wouldn't get the score.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: And I'm like, wait, scoreboard, get about the twenty four
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: second clock?
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, no idea, you know, I mean you know
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: who brought in the bug? Right the score Fox?
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:04:56Speaker 6: Uh? In whatever?
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Ninety Yeah?
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: Was that right ninety It was when they turned to
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: do before maybe when they started doing games. They they're
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: the ones that brought the kind of school.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Yes, unbelievable.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: It kind of ties into our narrator contrays even know
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: what you need someone always telling you what the score is.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: Now, we watched the games. We seem to survive so much.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: You just don't realize watching games. I mean we watch
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: a lot of games live now, but how on the
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: president the scoreboard and the first down marker and you
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: just you take it for granted that you always can
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: just call.
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: It when you don't see it all of a sudden,
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: like wait, what's the score?
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: You lose Tyler and Ludlow. I have no worries about
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: McDaniel's coaching up May as he was the coordinator when
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Jimmy g had to start for Brady, and we know
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: that he was very effective. I would expect that McDaniels
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: has learned from the stakes and will be surprised if
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: he makes the playbook too complicated for May.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think we're getting away from the
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: playbook being too complicated for him, and it's more executing
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: the scheme.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: If that makes sense.
- 1:05:54Speaker 7: I think that's where we're get kind of the most basic,
- 1:05:57Speaker 7: easiest play If it's hard for the quarterback to run it,
- 1:06:00Speaker 7: it's not about a complicated playbook.
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: It's about running the offense the way he wants it run.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: I'm also not concerned about it the way the email
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: or phrased it. My whole thing is, I just I
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: wish that they were starting from a higher a higher
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: starting point right like now, instead of starting hitting the
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: ground running in OTAs and training camp and stuff like that.
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: They're still learning.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: So you wish McDaniels is here last, Yeah, Like.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: So now does it stand the reason that it's really
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: going to take two years to get it fully operational?
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: Right like? That's and I know that's that's way down
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: the line.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: I'm not saying that I'm death stars.
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: Why does it always have to get back to a
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: wiki level with you?
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: I'm a geek? Is this thing operation?
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: But you?
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: But you, you know, the flip side of that would
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: be again with my shows is sort of contending. So
- 1:06:53Speaker 7: I agree that the best best case scenario would have
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: been to have what Evan said and maybe this be.
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: Year two of him learning this offense.
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: But if not, my shows would say, like that's why
- 1:07:04Speaker 7: they would prefer not to have McDaniels, but maybe another
- 1:07:07Speaker 7: like McVeigh or Shanahan West Coast kind of a guy
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: to come in. And even though it's not the same
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: as Alex van Pelt, it's kind of in that family,
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: less new to learn. That's why the people it's not
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: because Josh McDaniels is incompetent, it's offensive coordinator. To the contrary,
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: he's been a great offensive coordinator. But people just wonder
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: if there's so much new, is that stunting the development?
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: Jack and Abba says, Einstein actually said, actually, everything should
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: be made as simple as possible, but not simpler. The
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: point is to simplify, but not oversimplify. Some difficult endeavors
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: like quarterbacking a pro football team can be simplified only
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: so much.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: I don't want to simplify, like I think we're losing
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: the plot a little bit. Like all I'm saying is
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: is that if it takes like last year, where it
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: was two weeks into training camp before it really you
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: saw the light bulb kind of go on for ra
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: May and click. Well, that's two weeks that they could
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: have been adding other things in and getting really humming.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: If that's the path that we take this time because
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: of the changes in coaching, then you're not behind the
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: eight ball, but you're just you're not as ahead as
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: I would like it to be. But that doesn't mean
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: that I want Josh McDaniels to take his offense and
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: strip it down to pee wee football like it, just
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: it might be a little bit of a slower burn
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: than what you would have liked.
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: Well, what would you guys say? This is the question
- 1:08:30Speaker 6: I'm asking myself.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: What would you guys say, are the benefits if Drake
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: May is able to get this offense down, understand how
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: to execute it. What are the benefits of this offense
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: getting to that point versus maybe last year's offense.
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: If he got to master's Oh, it.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Doesn't have put more stress on the defense. I mean
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: that type of offense.
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: It's very multiple, so you can you know, the one
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: thing that he'll have is answers to tests where like,
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: you're never going to get caught with your pants down
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: if you run this offense correctly, you know you're never
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: going to be in a situation where there's a blitz
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: coming and you have no answer to it.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: There's an answer to everything the defense is doing right, you.
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: Know, right, So, like you know, if they're bringing you know, pressure,
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: either there's a built in hot or there's a way
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: to move the protection or whatever the case may be,
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: that has answers. Whereas at times last year and even
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: two years ago, three years ago, like they're snapping the
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: ball into as Brady would like to say, bad defenses
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: right the plays.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: In order for it to work, you have to recognize. Yeah,
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: if you don't recognize correctly, then your answer is wrong.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: You be recognize if we're going to be wrong and
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: be wrong together.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: But like if you were coaching a team, wouldn't this
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: be ideal for you that you would want that to be?
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: I mean, I know it's hard to do, but like
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: in a perfect situation, you want your quarterback to go
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: out there and be able to do that.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: So, and like the same thing with the receivers, Like
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: there's always a lot of discussion about this offense and
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: how it goes to receivers, but like to me, it's
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: common sense with the receivers, like if their options are
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: adjusted or option d outed based off of the coverage,
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: like instead of running into the defender, we're going to
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: run away from the defender, right like it, So it
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: should more or less be common sense. But like, you know, okay,
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: like you know, they used to talk a lot about
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: you know, Moss would like run a post right, and
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: he'd be like, well, I'm running the post right into
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: the post safety, So why am I doing that?
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: And so then they started to build Okay, you can
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: now break to the corner if you see the post right.
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: And so then he was like, all right, well do
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: that or like we're going to run a deep over,
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: so you're going to cross the face of the post
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: safety instead of going right into the post safety. Like
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: all that stuff, to me is is kind of common sense.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: Like why would you run a route directly into somebody
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: when you could run the route into an open space.
- 1:10:46Speaker 6: It's just hard to execute when you're on the field
- 1:10:48Speaker 6: and guys would kill you.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: And it's timing and all that stuff too. Yeah, Sean
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: and Petaluma, California, guys, he says Lan Larison, dude was
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: an absolute blow out here at you see Davis, he
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: can run through the tackles pass pro catch out of
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: a backfield. I'm a proud you see Davis football season
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: ticket holder, kind of like Paul and Northeastern.
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: Absolutely, I was thinking the same thing and.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: Watching him up close the past couple of years. Maybe
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: think of yes, sexy rexy Burkehead.
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely a little Rex Burkhead vibe to him.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: By the way, did I see James Devlin at practiced?
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: You did? You did? An NFL p A, Yeah you did.
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: Paul Pasqualoni also former Stuse head.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Coach right and Yukon? Right? Wasn't he coach at Yukon?
- 1:11:30Speaker 6: He may have.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: I think he did. I think you might.
- 1:11:33Speaker 6: He may have.
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: No way to find out those two There was a
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: way Rex Burkehead or Land Larris and Rex Burkhead. And
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: now he's wearing thirty four just like Rex Burkhead and
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: then Afton Chisholm. I feel like it's just like the
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: slot version of that.
- 1:11:46Speaker 7: So I'm going to ask you which you know, which
- 1:11:48Speaker 7: which one of those two guys, because I just pick
- 1:11:50Speaker 7: one because I can't do both of them. Why can't
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: we take I'm not doing either guy, But I've been
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: inundated with questions about those two players.
- 1:11:58Speaker 6: One of them has been called Caffrey.
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: He was that was his nickname in college is the
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: D T. McCaffrey.
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: So, uh, you know these two guys, I'm going to
- 1:12:09Speaker 6: leave it to you guys.
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: But from now until the end of training camp, you
- 1:12:12Speaker 7: guys can have all the fun you want.
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: Why they can't keep.
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: All saying talk about that was all just talk about
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: I would talk about. I would talk about one of them.
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: I'm not talking about the one on the surface. I
- 1:12:24Speaker 7: would say the running back would have a better shot.
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: Just the numbers.
- 1:12:27Speaker 7: Because of the numbers, now Chishom's a little redundant to
- 1:12:30Speaker 7: the wide receiver part. To me, that would be interesting
- 1:12:34Speaker 7: as if they decide some of the guys that we've
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: quote unquote said well you should be here. You know,
- 1:12:40Speaker 7: some someone isn't here, like even like a mac Hollins,
- 1:12:44Speaker 7: you know, like a free you know, it's not unprecedented
- 1:12:46Speaker 7: that a free agent. We had a member Mike and
- 1:12:48Speaker 7: I had a member of the media. I'm not going
- 1:12:49Speaker 7: to say who it was. Said, that's rare, he said,
- 1:12:53Speaker 7: book it surprise Mac Collins tour the other day.
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: A negative member of the media.
- 1:12:58Speaker 7: Yes, So I'm not saying that I don't think that
- 1:13:02Speaker 7: that will happen. I think that they like Matt Collins,
- 1:13:04Speaker 7: but if something unforeseen like that happens, because this kid
- 1:13:08Speaker 7: is really pushing, you know, on the on the practice field.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: Yeah, by all means hard to tell.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: I just I mean he's quick and definitely stood out
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: for his quickness. But I just I feel like it's
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: kind of Pop Douglas. And I mean maybe Pop Douglass
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: got hurt and you felt like you needed a slot.
- 1:13:24Speaker 6: I just like gambling on size a little more. It's
- 1:13:26Speaker 6: it's hard. It's really hard to know.
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: It makes you wonder or makes you understand why maybe
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: Edelman Welker took them a little while to find their
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: stride because those guys they.
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: Don't physically they're not physically imposing.
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: You really have to see it consistently to believe that
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: they can do it.
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: There's just such a translatable skill set which ism into
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: the McDaniels offense because we've seen it so many times before.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: And I think the one thing he has maybe on
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: pop Pop's definitely a better athlete, you know, definitely more
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: explosive and and things like that, but he's got that
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: feel of like how to get opens especially again zone coverage,
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: like he's got that that sort of knack for you know,
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: where are the soft spots and where to settle and
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: how to make himself open and things like that over
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: the middle of the field, where I think Pop Douglas
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: is really good against man coverage, but he still doesn't
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: have that in sixth sense with the quarterback. I think
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: Chishom might have that.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: Interesting, that's a really interesting point someone. I hadn't really
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: considered it, but I think you're really right, and that
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: could be a place where one guy maybe just has
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: a little better feel for the game then.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: Peter and Ottawa. Uh, Peter from Ottawa in Florida. I've
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: been meaning to send this email for a while. I
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: used to think that Fred was the person who was
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: essential to the podcast, but over the years I've since
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: discovered it's Paul. When he isn't there. There was absolutely
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: no pushback. If we can get Evan more jaded, he
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: has some potential, but without Paul and his pushback, the
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: show has become dull. In other words, we need the
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: negative Nancy push down negative.
- 1:14:53Speaker 6: You said, pushka, No, that's that's all right, all right.
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: I think Fred agreed to disagree with.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: I think you all make me.
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: Think sometimes about it. I'm actually right about things, thank you.
- 1:15:03Speaker 6: Fred makes me think in all seriousness.
- 1:15:04Speaker 7: He makes me think of things in way different ways
- 1:15:07Speaker 7: than I think of him. Yeah, And sometimes I make
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: fun of him for it and we end up arguing
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: with one of our semantics arguments. And sometimes I'm like,
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: I never thought of it that way, and I'm better
- 1:15:17Speaker 7: for it. But you always think of him in different ways,
- 1:15:21Speaker 7: don't you think?
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: Sometimes because when you're an idiot.
- 1:15:24Speaker 6: But you know I didn't say that, No, I said it.
- 1:15:27Speaker 6: I was gonna say, how did you interpret what I
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: just said? Is an idiot?
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: I think of things a different way sometimes because I'm
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: an odd.
- 1:15:33Speaker 7: But but it's like when you used to used to
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: have the joke about the press conferences. Sometimes I see
- 1:15:38Speaker 7: I go between the line right and get it, get
- 1:15:41Speaker 7: the and you do you you look at things differently.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: Sometimes It's funny.
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: I was thinking about it because you I didn't know
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: you during the Dynasty when they were winning Super Bowls.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: Oh he still does.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: So I've only been on a show with you when
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: they've kind of been bad.
- 1:15:58Speaker 6: So you've been right way too much about all of this.
- 1:16:01Speaker 6: Stuff that's unfolded over.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: That's a couple of years.
- 1:16:03Speaker 6: I didn't even know what I would say.
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: It's been a complete one eighty like the height of
- 1:16:08Speaker 7: the diet and Fred tell it. Fred will admit this,
- 1:16:10Speaker 7: like I never ever thought they were gonna lose.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: Yeh never, Yeah.
- 1:16:15Speaker 7: I would declare games over in the first quarter, like
- 1:16:17Speaker 7: that's over. It's like they once she's you know, oh
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: they Oh Brady can throw it into the winds as well,
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: this game's over. Like literally, I was as obnoxious a
- 1:16:26Speaker 7: Patriots fan as you could get.
- 1:16:28Speaker 4: We need that.
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: I just I just want to know what it's like.
- 1:16:31Speaker 7: No, no, no, no, we don't need that Paul back. We
- 1:16:33Speaker 7: need that team back. Cap would you be I'll be
- 1:16:35Speaker 7: obnoxious and tell you they're gonna win every game.
- 1:16:37Speaker 6: If I think they're gonna.
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: Win every game, I mean, it just would have been fun, though,
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: to see like you poo pooing a guy and instead
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: of it being like Paul was right, to be.
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: Like, oh, the guy's actually awesome. I don't know, but
- 1:16:46Speaker 6: you know, like you've been like right on all this.
- 1:16:49Speaker 6: I mean, like Matt Jones, I'm like, I don't know, Paul,
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: he's gonna be okay, don't worry like I don't know,
- 1:16:54Speaker 6: like all right, like I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: My first impression of Kyle Williams the other day he
- 1:16:59Speaker 7: runs a go round against Alex Austin and got covered
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: like a blanket. I didn't like that. That was my
- 1:17:03Speaker 7: first thing, first thing that I saw.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: I didn't like it.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: Got open.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: I was sitting well, I was gonna say that in
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: uh and Kyle Williams defense was long, speedest thinger was
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: like off the.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: Line and talk.
- 1:17:14Speaker 7: You know, he ran a nice over on I believe
- 1:17:17Speaker 7: Craig Woodson near the sideline for a nice guy throw
- 1:17:21Speaker 7: and catch you on that play.
- 1:17:24Speaker 6: Give you a little bit of.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Both Josh and Atlanta says, because I love you.
- 1:17:27Speaker 6: I think it was.
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: Evan talks about the Celtics for five minutes during a
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: playoff run and gets lamp based by the fake Patriots
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: fans who don't care about Boston sports. Meanwhile, Paul can
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: manufacture a narrator argument with multiple leaf Schreiberd name drops,
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: and no one bats an eye. Leah, Leah, Evan keep talking,
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: sees the real New Englanders appreciate it, and if Paul
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: likes narrating, so much. Let's have him do it for
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: episode two.
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: Thank you?
- 1:17:50Speaker 7: Oh no, like we already told you who the narrator is.
- 1:17:53Speaker 7: The producer is the narrator.
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I appreciate he didn't.
- 1:17:57Speaker 6: Come from the other side of the field on that play. Okay.
- 1:18:00Speaker 7: Evan has informed me that the play that I was
- 1:18:02Speaker 7: giving Kyle Williams props for was just a regular out.
- 1:18:04Speaker 7: I could have sworn he was in the slot on
- 1:18:06Speaker 7: the right side of the field and caught it on
- 1:18:08Speaker 7: the left sideline as a.
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: Little smash concept hitch corner. Okay, see smash covered too
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: little pump, I know, smash throw it in the hole.
- 1:18:16Speaker 6: A little pushback from Evan. Everything's got to give pushback.
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: Of the ball, the ball.
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: Knower on case.
- 1:18:24Speaker 6: I got to get that T shirt printed. I already
- 1:18:26Speaker 6: did it. You have a ball taking a break? Did
- 1:18:28Speaker 6: you get food today?
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: I did.
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: It's not here yet, so like the unc and was
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: like speaking of that, you sent our school into chaos.
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: You best dug He says that first time, longtime, Fred,
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: you always used to say Paul's food is here, but
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: you don't anymore. What happened? Did you hurt his feelings?
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: Or is Paul so s felt now that you're no
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: longer body shaming him. Yeah, Paul doesn't eat anymore. He's
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: on a starvation diet until the Patriots went.
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: Fred's food is here now every day.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: He said, Fortune Fox Sports, fantastic. Love the job all involved, LFG.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: Thanks for the show, Thanks for the great content and hilarity.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: Good.
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: It's been a good show.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: It's been fun. But I'm losing steam if I don't
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: get food soon.
- 1:19:16Speaker 6: Yeah, all that PiZZ of time.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: Jess in New York City rights in. We got some
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: phone calls too. I'll get to. Media footage and press
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: headlines could be used in lieu of a narrator or
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: type on screen to explain things like Rabel's hiring or
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: the construction of the football facility. For example, ten seconds
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: from the NFL network doing a breaking news Mike Rabel
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: heading back to New England story, or showing a few
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: seconds of a press release with a Patriots break ground
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: on football facility headline and picture of the crafts holding shovels.
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: I'm not sure what that's called, but I've definitely seen
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: documentaries use quick clips of media coverage.
- 1:19:51Speaker 7: That's actually done that. Yeah, yeah, the covery. That's exactly
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: what they did for Rabel. Yeah, we had I believe
- 1:19:56Speaker 7: it was Adam Schefter.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we used a lot of eyesen Rich Eisen Yeah,
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: I can't see. Uh, let's see Kendall in North Carolina.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: What's up Kendall, Kendall, Hey, how you doing good?
- 1:20:13Speaker 10: I'm coming up to September twenty nine from North Carolina
- 1:20:16Speaker 10: for the Panthers patries. I think that's the game. Okay,
- 1:20:19Speaker 10: I'm coming.
- 1:20:20Speaker 12: I wanted I wanted to know.
- 1:20:21Speaker 14: What are some good eating areas close to the stadium
- 1:20:24Speaker 14: and some good hotels or airbnb?
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: Well, it depends on what you want to I mean,
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: you know there's a lot of good good eats around here.
- 1:20:31Speaker 6: Where are you planning on staying? Yeah, like in Providence
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: or in Boston or.
- 1:20:37Speaker 10: That we can get to the stadium.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: Okay, well I would I would say, you know there's
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: two hotels right on property. Yeah, there's the Renaissance and
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: the Hilton Garden in but they usually get booked up
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: quick and if you do that, they're expensive. It's the
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: Renaissance at Patriot Place and then there's the Hilton Garden
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: in here at Patriot Place, but they tend to be
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: a little.
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: Also the home to Sweets down the street.
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: There's a holiday Inn in Mansfield, which is actually a
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: real nice holiday inn which is close by.
- 1:21:10Speaker 14: To Okay, is how is the Boston from.
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: Foxboro forty five minutes to an hour?
- 1:21:17Speaker 10: Yeah, okay, I appreciate it.
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, all right, the travel agency thanks often tell
- 1:21:26Speaker 7: him if you end up staying in the in the
- 1:21:29Speaker 7: Foxborough area, then there's plenty of restaurants right here at
- 1:21:32Speaker 7: Patriot Place that you know.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: If you want Italian Lucianos is right down the street.
- 1:21:37Speaker 6: Lucianos is excellent.
- 1:21:38Speaker 14: Uh.
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: There's also a barbecue place that's it looks like about
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: we saw the smoke, like the Pope knocking on the door.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:21:44Speaker 6: It is Blondie.
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: I'm ready Blondie's barbecue. I hope it's good. We hope
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: we really need good barbecue. I mean it looks legit.
- 1:21:52Speaker 6: I mean they got the big smokers out there. They've
- 1:21:54Speaker 6: been building it for a while.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, the proof is in the bar on the ribs.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: All right, take a break because my food just arrived,
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: uh not Paul's. And we'll be right back after this.

- 1:24:26Speaker 17: Kirsch and on screen stars do some Paul. I mean,
- 1:24:30Speaker 17: it was unbelievable.
- 1:24:31Speaker 18: It was it was it was some absolutely you know
- 1:24:34Speaker 18: the meme with the absolute cinema. Yeah, you can kind
- 1:24:37Speaker 18: of give on those. It was really well put together.
- 1:24:40Speaker 18: I mean, whole whole squad did a great job on it.
- 1:24:43Speaker 18: You know, everybody kind of came together and it was
- 1:24:46Speaker 18: a heavy left but it's an awesome, awesome video.
- 1:24:48Speaker 17: I mean, Chris, like you know, just behind the scenes,
- 1:24:52Speaker 17: like a lot happened in the last season. I mean,
- 1:24:55Speaker 17: we we had it before with the previous administration, and

- 1:25:12Speaker 1: It's just awesome. Well we've been able to capture.
- 1:25:14Speaker 17: If you're a Pats fan, there's no reason not to
- 1:25:16Speaker 17: learn it, all right. That was from Dano Thursday's show Greetings.
- 1:25:21Speaker 17: So I was driving home from the office listening to
- 1:25:23Speaker 17: Thursday's show, and once I got into the freeway just
- 1:25:26Speaker 17: as Alex and Duce were making their simultaneous rod dogging comment.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: I was looking at the.
- 1:25:30Speaker 17: Car stopped on the side of the road and accidentally
- 1:25:33Speaker 17: gazed upon two men relieving themselves, not Paul style, on
- 1:25:36Speaker 17: the side of the road. I actually reround, re round,
- 1:25:40Speaker 17: or whatever the current term is for it the podcast,
- 1:25:42Speaker 17: thinking my brain had just made me hear them incorrectly
- 1:25:45Speaker 17: based on what my eyes were seeing. Nope, I heard
- 1:25:47Speaker 17: what I heard. I saw what I saw. I laughed
- 1:25:49Speaker 17: out loud. He rarely disappoints cheers to see.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what to say to that.
- 1:25:55Speaker 17: You gotta call you gotta go, all right, Fred and Paul.
- 1:26:03Speaker 17: Please teach the youngsters oh some manners. Normally I only
- 1:26:07Speaker 17: listen to the replay of podcast on my drive home.
- 1:26:10Speaker 17: Today I was working from home and watch the podcast
- 1:26:12Speaker 17: live for the first time. Please teach the youngsters to
- 1:26:14Speaker 17: put their phones down, phones down, and pay attention to
- 1:26:17Speaker 17: the conversation.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Rude.
- 1:26:19Speaker 17: Additionally, Evan, stop with the faces when someone disagrees with
- 1:26:22Speaker 17: you with your point of view. I'll be glad to
- 1:26:25Speaker 17: send money for the movie tickets for the youngsters to
- 1:26:27Speaker 17: see Jaws. Just let me know when and where to
- 1:26:30Speaker 17: send the money. Evan, the original Star Wars is that
- 1:26:33Speaker 17: was the best, just like the first Super Bowl was
- 1:26:35Speaker 17: the best.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: Old school.
- 1:26:36Speaker 18: I'm actually against the Star Wars take. I think making
- 1:26:39Speaker 18: fun of that in facial expressions is one of the
- 1:26:41Speaker 18: funniest things I've heard in a while.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: Yeah, because he's he's a sour puss.
- 1:26:45Speaker 7: He is.
- 1:26:46Speaker 18: He loves to kind of he gives his opinion if
- 1:26:48Speaker 18: someone's nose.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: Like, well, I disagree, agreed, disagree.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: Phones down. Phones phones are always down here they are,
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: We're down. Come on, phones are down.
- 1:26:56Speaker 17: If you look at the Maddison, the phone's not bad.
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: I've never Yeah, we're taking it all.
- 1:27:00Speaker 17: We'll take that's for that's for Alex and Fess. Yeah,
- 1:27:04Speaker 17: and then with Jaws, that's that's all Alex.
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: She needs to see that.
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: Yeah, So the fact that she has is crazy old school.
- 1:27:10Speaker 17: We'll tell you where to send the money, but she
- 1:27:11Speaker 17: needs to watch it. This like it's almost it's almost
- 1:27:14Speaker 17: Cape Cod Martha's Vineyard season. So all right, last one.
- 1:27:18Speaker 17: What I've learned this offseason. I got a list here. Okay,
- 1:27:21Speaker 17: this from David in DC. I've learned so much from
- 1:27:24Speaker 17: you all this off season. One Fred goes over the
- 1:27:27Speaker 17: top rather than through the door. Two Paul is a
- 1:27:30Speaker 17: hot sister. Three Mike likes the Celtics as much as
- 1:27:33Speaker 17: he likes Tom Brady. Four Alex likes dudes and backwards caps.
- 1:27:37Speaker 17: Five Evan thought that he still thinks he knows everything
- 1:27:41Speaker 17: about football, thought that and probably does, but very little
- 1:27:44Speaker 17: about anything else.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Damn roasted.
- 1:27:46Speaker 17: Six I miss Andy's advice about swamp ass.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: Seven.
- 1:27:50Speaker 17: It took a year, but the silos finally came down
- 1:27:52Speaker 17: and there appears to be some collaboration.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: Eight.
- 1:27:55Speaker 17: The Pope has a degree in mathematics. He not only
- 1:27:57Speaker 17: knows sin, he knows co sign.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: That's exciting.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: I like that.
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: That was a hefty email.
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: Is paul sister hot?
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: Yeah? What about what about that one?
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: But I had questions, as I guess I'll ask Paul.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: And Evan really doesn't know anything about ball either, so
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: is he?
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: The line to us is Evan a fraud?
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: Is Evan interesting?
- 1:28:19Speaker 17: He might be, but you can find out that the
- 1:28:21Speaker 17: next episode. You guys, and once again, thanks for sending

- 1:30:33Speaker 2: And now great moments in.
- 1:30:38Speaker 18: History.
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: Back in the day when Eric was still a meat eater, right,
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: we went to Arthur's and wanted to get a steak
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: while done, and I objected. He did, I objected, He.
- 1:30:47Speaker 6: Voiced in opposition, that's ridiculous.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Yes, told the servers that don't you dare, don't you dare?
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: Bring him a cooked.
- 1:30:53Speaker 15: Steak about five minutes later.
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: He doesn't need a good cut, is what I'm saying.
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: You don't need to waste the money on someone who's
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: gonna have all done.
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: It's a waste because you.
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: Don't want to. It'll taste the same, is what I'm saying.
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: He won't even know the difference.
- 1:31:10Speaker 6: Of course, you know the difference street cuts of meat.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: Not when you do it well done, not when you
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: cook it well done. Just give him a hook. It
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: loses its flavor, It loses all its flavor.
- 1:31:21Speaker 6: All your sins, sins.
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: That's another great moment from so it's your fault, fread
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: what's my fault?
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: When I went to Indian everyone's like, you gotta get
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: your primary medium rare like Bradley did. And then I
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: was not in a good place of the combine for
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: about two days. But I think I have it in
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: my head, like if you're gonna get a good steak,
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: you gotta get it medium.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: Rare, right at the most medium, at the most most medium.
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: That's you doing it. But not Hamburger is different. Hamburger
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: is different because you you've broken the membrane seal. So Hamburger,
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: you actually had no less than medium. I actually, when
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: I go to a restaurant, if I order a hamburger,
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: it's medium well because I want that burger cook because
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: bacteria gets in when into ground beef. But steak has
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: that membrane still on it, so you can order it
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: medium rare.
- 1:32:12Speaker 4: I'm with Fred on the steak. If you order if
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: you go to like a nice steakhouse and you order medium, well,
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: I don't respect you to do better.
- 1:32:19Speaker 6: I don't bother like that's good.
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: Burger is good. Way, that's good. Yeah, don't you break
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: down the membrane.
- 1:32:25Speaker 7: In the mid on this we as We've had this
- 1:32:29Speaker 7: discussion many times in the past.
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: Like when we go to the Elmos in Indy, if
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: I see somebody order medium, well, I'm like, why.
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: Don't you just go home?
- 1:32:38Speaker 6: It's not going to be anymore, that's for sure. A
- 1:32:41Speaker 6: medium well guy. No, no, I was a medium rare
- 1:32:44Speaker 6: guy once and.
- 1:32:45Speaker 4: Just for the record, everybody at that table said to
- 1:32:48Speaker 4: do hey, dude, that that looks a little rare, like
- 1:32:50Speaker 4: maybe you should send it back, and no, no, it's
- 1:32:53Speaker 4: all it's fine.
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: But it was like people like their sak like raw,
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: they'll order it rare. Yeah, that's too much. That's what
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: I got was rare. I didn't order the pink not red.
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: Yeah right, yeah, I heard that medium rare, but I
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: didn't order the two days on the toilet afterwards.
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: Have steak tartar, right. James pettigrew the most interesting Patriots
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: fan in the world.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: So how much was the motivation to make the doc
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: an appeasement to fans? Seems like the old Bill way
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: of communicating only works when winning Super Bowls. Also, how
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: is the new environment for you guys? Does it make
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: the job easier or is there now more to do?
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: Eric would have hated this much activity in the off season,
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: that's true appiacement to fans. I don't know. I think
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: we were offered the opportunity and we took it.
- 1:33:43Speaker 7: Yeah, I think it's it's circumstantial. I think that there
- 1:33:47Speaker 7: are different coaches that have come in the last two
- 1:33:49Speaker 7: years that had a different sort of mindset when it
- 1:33:52Speaker 7: came to content and social media and all that stuff.
- 1:33:56Speaker 7: And I think Bill was obviously setting his ways and
- 1:33:59Speaker 7: didn't really embraced much of that, whereas Girod last year,
- 1:34:02Speaker 7: and I would say even more so Mike this year,
- 1:34:05Speaker 7: have been a little bit more open to doing that.
- 1:34:09Speaker 7: I think that was really the sole impetus. I don't
- 1:34:11Speaker 7: think it was. I mean, we're always looking to do
- 1:34:13Speaker 7: stuff that we think is going to be appealing to
- 1:34:14Speaker 7: the fans.
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: The fombs, Well, it's just the word pressure. Like before,
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: like you had pressure to come up with content because
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: you weren't given the access, so you had to do
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: other things. Now you get the access and now there's
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: a pressure. We better do good with it or they're
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: going to take it away. Yeah.
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: I mean, I think this is a lot of the
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: most high performing content around the league that other teams do.
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: I know, the Philadelphia Eagles, they put out videos like this.
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: They are noting the wheel here, but I don't know.
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: I just the appeasement where it buzzed me because to me,
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: it's like I just I want to entertain the fans,
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: Like that's what activation is, entertainment, showing behind the scenes,
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: this is the response, this is what fans eat.
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: Our goal is always to bring the fans closer to
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: the team. Now we have more ways to do it,
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: which is good. Quick says, hopefully it's a long term series.
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: Any chance of doing a deep dive into the scouting department,
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: I was fascinated with that aspect of the first episode.
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: I think following the scouts as they attend games without
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: telling us who they're looking at, but seeing the scouting
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: process through their eyes.
- 1:35:16Speaker 7: Hey, so I would just say this is you know,
- 1:35:21Speaker 7: the appeasement word sort of got under your skin a
- 1:35:23Speaker 7: little bit, Mike. One of the things that gets under
- 1:35:25Speaker 7: my skin a little bit is like, how about we
- 1:35:28Speaker 7: do this, this and this, and generally there are things
- 1:35:30Speaker 7: that we've done, like we have a series that we've
- 1:35:34Speaker 7: done for I don't know ten years, like, you know,
- 1:35:38Speaker 7: do your job. Yep, We've been behind the scenes with scouts.
- 1:35:42Speaker 7: We've given you deep dives into some of these things. Now,
- 1:35:45Speaker 7: I think the meetings themselves that Evan was talking about,
- 1:35:49Speaker 7: that's a little different that we've gotten to show you.
- 1:35:52Speaker 7: But we've followed a guy on the road, a pro
- 1:35:55Speaker 7: scout on the road, you know, to do his job.
- 1:35:59Speaker 6: We've fall load, you know, all kinds of different.
- 1:36:04Speaker 7: Personnel here and what they do, and we're going to
- 1:36:08Speaker 7: have a story I think soon. Ted Harper, the nutritionist,
- 1:36:13Speaker 7: was just recognized from the ward. Alex who's not here
- 1:36:17Speaker 7: today because she's on another community event. She's going to
- 1:36:20Speaker 7: be doing a nice profile on that. Again, we've done
- 1:36:23Speaker 7: him before. We're telling you behind the scenes stuff of
- 1:36:26Speaker 7: what all these people do, and that the content is
- 1:36:29Speaker 7: out there. Maybe we need to do a better job
- 1:36:31Speaker 7: of promoting it, but we've done a lot of these
- 1:36:33Speaker 7: things that people are looking for.
- 1:36:35Speaker 6: Evan embedded, Evan embedded with the Scouting Department.
- 1:36:38Speaker 7: Yeah, I think Evan just needs to go to the
- 1:36:40Speaker 7: Scouting Department of me. I just think you're missing this
- 1:36:45Speaker 7: guy knows what he's talking. You're young enough, like see,
- 1:36:47Speaker 7: I'm too old. You're young enough to reinvent yourself.
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: I could see you on the road in Kennesaw, Georgia, Paul.
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: Paul taking down offensive line.
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: When you're done downloading porn to your laptop.
- 1:37:07Speaker 7: That is what that is what you have to do
- 1:37:09Speaker 7: to be a member of the Scouting Oh no, I'm
- 1:37:11Speaker 7: just kidding.
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: Just a turn.
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: There we go.
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: Boston Cream's on the line. What's up, Boston Cream?
- 1:37:18Speaker 6: Yo yo donut.
- 1:37:20Speaker 14: Hey guys, I think we've reached our limit for tired
- 1:37:24Speaker 14: pumps on your guys' video. There so spread people in
- 1:37:29Speaker 14: the organization listen to you on certain things, right, you
- 1:37:32Speaker 14: have a voice.
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: No, I'm out of the loop. Okay, I have no voice.
- 1:37:39Speaker 14: I would say that you're like the medium between the
- 1:37:42Speaker 14: fans and the organization.
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: Is that correct? I can be at that at times? Sure, Okay, yeah, okay.
- 1:37:48Speaker 14: I've always taken you as someone who isn't scared of
- 1:37:51Speaker 14: a challenge, at least in certain arguments on the show.
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: Sure.
- 1:37:56Speaker 14: So the fans have spoken and the current uniforms aren't
- 1:37:59Speaker 14: living up to the Patriots standard of excellent and also
- 1:38:01Speaker 14: the voice of the Patriots fans. What can a man
- 1:38:05Speaker 14: of the people like yourself.
- 1:38:06Speaker 8: Do about it?
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: Well, that's a good question. And sometimes you're more effective
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: being a voice if you agree with it. I don't
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: really give a damn about the uniforms, So I don't
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: know if i'd be your most effective voice. But I
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: have heard about that, and uh, you know, I think
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: that there's like a five year runway that you have
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: to have when you want to make a whole sale
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: uniform change, whole uniform change. So, but I think didn't
- 1:38:33Speaker 2: they announce that they're going to have the rivalry? It's
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: the No. They didn't wear the one piece blueberry last year,
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: I know, but.
- 1:38:43Speaker 6: But they did. Yeah.
- 1:38:45Speaker 7: Now, they had other games that they wore the dirty
- 1:38:47Speaker 7: pants with the blue shirt because because they were both
- 1:38:49Speaker 7: no one wants to.
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: But nobody want to know. I agree that the one
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: piece blueberry forget.
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: It all that out and at the nfl p A
- 1:38:55Speaker 4: thing with the Rookie Symposium thing, Trayvon Henderson and I
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: think as Kyle Williams were there and uh, they were
- 1:39:02Speaker 4: wearing the full blueberries.
- 1:39:04Speaker 6: Really, so do you guys have be interested in you?
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: I was just gonna say, Paul, what would you like
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: to see? Hello?
- 1:39:22Speaker 11: Sorry, I thought that question was to Paul, for you
- 1:39:24Speaker 11: to you.
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: Like.
- 1:39:28Speaker 14: I kind of like a lot of different things here.
- 1:39:30Speaker 14: I don't want to go back to the dynasty. I
- 1:39:32Speaker 14: think that just needs to live.
- 1:39:33Speaker 10: In the past.
- 1:39:34Speaker 6: What wrong?
- 1:39:37Speaker 14: Like I would like to see the Patriots work in
- 1:39:40Speaker 14: more alternate uniforms so that we all everyone kind of
- 1:39:43Speaker 14: gets what they want. But there's gonna be a little
- 1:39:46Speaker 14: bit of a modernization on probably the helmet, probably the jersey.
- 1:39:52Speaker 14: And then it took Heay to get the silver pants back.
- 1:39:54Speaker 14: I think that's kind of iconic and Patriots history. But
- 1:39:58Speaker 14: I don't have the answer. But I'm not I'm not
- 1:40:01Speaker 14: as smart. I'm not as smart as bread.
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: So I think the blueberry I think it works as
- 1:40:08Speaker 4: a jersey. I think it's the full ensemble that doesn't work.
- 1:40:12Speaker 6: That's is my question to you guys.
- 1:40:14Speaker 7: Is it the monochromatic thing that we don't like or
- 1:40:17Speaker 7: is it the actual style of the uniform.
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: Usually I don't like one color throughout the only time
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: sometimes it looks good, like when the Bengals came out
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: in the all white that looked sharp.
- 1:40:30Speaker 7: I like it as a one off. Yeah, I do
- 1:40:33Speaker 7: like them as a one off. That the one color, Yeah.
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: Well they did that. That was color rush that these are, Yeah,
- 1:40:39Speaker 4: and I kind of like some of those now. I
- 1:40:42Speaker 4: think that the the blueberry jersey could more or less
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: work with the silver pants. But the silver pants have
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: to be made for the blueberry jersey. They can't be
- 1:40:52Speaker 4: made for the old like the silver pants that they
- 1:40:54Speaker 4: use now are pants? Are we're crossing sets of jerseys extreams? Right?
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: I think I would say the tip uniform behind Paul
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: over there, that white jersey with the red pants, I'd
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: like to see some version of that.
- 1:41:08Speaker 6: And then I just like to see a modernistable.
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: In so seventies.
- 1:41:11Speaker 6: I like that, but don't overthink it.
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: I would just say, update the Dynasty uniforms, get a
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: little bit more of a modern fit, maybe a little
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: bit different though, Like I'm not a designer, but I
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: just think the cut could be a little bit more.
- 1:41:24Speaker 6: Maybe perhaps you know, just as you get better.
- 1:41:27Speaker 3: Jerseys fit a little bit better. But I just that's
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: the Patriots. Like you want to flip on the TV
- 1:41:32Speaker 3: and you know instantly who's playing. That's what happens when
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: you turn on the Packers. It's always looked the same.
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: They have some the cowboys, the forty nine ers, the
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: dynasties in the NFL, where the uniforms that they were
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: dynasties in And that's who the Patriots are.
- 1:41:44Speaker 6: I think that's who they should mostly be.
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: The you're saying you don't want change.
- 1:41:48Speaker 6: I want those to come back. I want the Dynasty,
- 1:41:51Speaker 6: but update them.
- 1:41:52Speaker 7: But if they were all blue with that like they
- 1:41:54Speaker 7: did in two thousand and two.
- 1:41:55Speaker 6: The Patriots, No, I don't like it too much blue.
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: I'm blueberries.
- 1:42:00Speaker 4: The forty nine ers are a great example because they've
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: modernized the Dynasty jersey and.
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: It's still like you flip the TV and still red
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: and every somebody from the nineteen eighties coming to try
- 1:42:10Speaker 3: a time machine.
- 1:42:11Speaker 6: Which dynasty.
- 1:42:12Speaker 7: They were entirely different uniforms throughout their dinostare point.
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: I didn't care for the ones where they went like
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: the shadow numbers, the shadow numbers, like the turn I
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: didn't like that. But they were in the they were
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: in the same like vicinity right like they weren't totally.
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: They changed some of the font a little bit.
- 1:42:26Speaker 7: And the colors of color scheme. The Patriots changed their
- 1:42:29Speaker 7: color skin.
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: Yeah, they went blue.
- 1:42:31Speaker 6: Miners didn't. Yeah, So that's I mean, that's just to me.
- 1:42:33Speaker 7: I know, they went from red to blue, Like you
- 1:42:36Speaker 7: like one blue and you don't like another blue.
- 1:42:38Speaker 6: That was too much blue, which is what I'm like
- 1:42:40Speaker 6: the primate group I don't want. That's what I'm finding
- 1:42:43Speaker 6: interesting is you guys. It's you don't like the one color.
- 1:42:46Speaker 6: You don't like the monocrap which manic look. I didn't
- 1:42:48Speaker 6: hate it when it was a color rush uniform, like
- 1:42:50Speaker 6: when it was once a year, and I would agree
- 1:42:53Speaker 6: with you, and I could swallow a pill on any
- 1:42:55Speaker 6: one off unifor I just don't like.
- 1:42:57Speaker 7: I mean, obviously they had tremendous success. I don't really
- 1:43:00Speaker 7: like the blue and gray with the elvis I don't.
- 1:43:03Speaker 7: I like the old ones better, but they're never going
- 1:43:06Speaker 7: back to the old one, so it doesn't really matter.
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: I've like, I've kind of not had a problem, but
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: wish that they go away from the silver helmet to
- 1:43:15Speaker 2: white with the new logo. I think that would be
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: sharp because you know we're the Patriots. That's red, white
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: and blue. Where does silver come into here? You know?
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: The other thing I worry about, like the Bruins have
- 1:43:28Speaker 4: like sixteen different jerseys, like they have all like, we don't.
- 1:43:32Speaker 6: I don't want that.
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: Now. Your league, the NBA, it's getting worse. It's getting worse.
- 1:43:38Speaker 6: League.
- 1:43:38Speaker 4: It's not it's not quite the Bruins, like the always
- 1:43:41Speaker 4: have three different jerseys in rotation. Right now they don't
- 1:43:43Speaker 4: have it.
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: Seems more to me. But what about the Red Sox
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: new one, the new Yeah, the.
- 1:43:47Speaker 4: Then hate it?
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: They were once and then they didn't wear it again,
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: you know, like over the weekend, Like yeah, but if
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: it be a different usually city, connect your word for
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: the series.
- 1:44:01Speaker 4: No, they'll wear it again, but I'm.
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: Sure they will, but they didn't wear it after that game.
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: I really I really liked those ones. I thought those
- 1:44:08Speaker 4: are the best ones so far. Of the alternates, and
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: I thought they were really sharp. That green is obviously
- 1:44:13Speaker 4: stoic with Fenway, like, that's a that's what I.
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: Kind of liked about it.
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: Monster.
- 1:44:18Speaker 6: Yeah, it's green, Monster Green, I kind of liked.
- 1:44:20Speaker 4: I bought one of the hats. I'm not shame to
- 1:44:22Speaker 4: admit I love the hat.
- 1:44:24Speaker 7: I don't hate to look at those other ones, though,
- 1:44:26Speaker 7: the blue and yellow ones. I just think they wore
- 1:44:28Speaker 7: them too much.
- 1:44:29Speaker 4: And it's just also like I get the connection, I
- 1:44:31Speaker 4: get the story behind them, but it's not really red Sox.
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: No.
- 1:44:35Speaker 4: It was a one time thing with the marathon that like,
- 1:44:38Speaker 4: but now it's kind of.
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: Green Monster shirts Adam and Whizyanna. The current jerseys are
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: way too generic. They look like the jersey you get
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: assigned in a video game for startup team. There's no
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: pizazz to the uniforms. It's just blue and stripes.
- 1:44:51Speaker 6: It's very constructive email.
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: There's nothing interesting about them. I'm in favor of the
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: Dynasty uniforms coming back or a new rendition on the
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: nineties Royal Blue Ooze like those the Royal Blues. When
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: they were out, people made fun of them.
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: I don't think they're great. They made fun of them.
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: Well now it's like they're so bad they're I don't
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: remember them getting made fun of.
- 1:45:10Speaker 7: Fred Evidently every uniform they ever had got made fun of, right,
- 1:45:14Speaker 7: I love everybody made fun of the pat Patriots.
- 1:45:17Speaker 6: I don't remember this.
- 1:45:18Speaker 4: Can we can we bring them back, like for like
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: an anniversary game of Like.
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: Sure there's something like I mean, just that's.
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: That's my child.
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: It's like all of it to me feels a little
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: bit screwy because like even their practice jerseys still seem
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: like they have the font from the old Dynasty jerseys
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: on them. But it's a different fun NOWT Like, these
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: are all things that I track, and I'm like, not
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: track like a dated.
- 1:45:38Speaker 6: That's how I know you track it.
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: But when they wear the blueberry top with the silver pants,
- 1:45:44Speaker 4: but the silver pants belong to the Dynasty uniforms, they
- 1:45:46Speaker 4: don't belong to these, and the stripes are all they
- 1:45:49Speaker 4: don't I'm like, what this looks.
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: I'd look ridiculous.
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: Get a fashion person, like a legit fashion person, to
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: break down the uniforms, like all of them, like all
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: the ones they ever warn and get like an honest,
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: fashion informed opinion.
- 1:45:59Speaker 6: What for that means.
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: Okay, back to football, Jason writes in predictions for starting
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: offense and defense, all twenty two guys, we're not doing
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: that yet. Also a game, what's everyone's hope expectation? And
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: better not be okay, So three categories, what's everyone's hope expectation?
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: And better not be for wins? So what's your hope?
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: Seventeen and owns right?
- 1:46:27Speaker 6: Well, is this record related or just general speakings? Hope
- 1:46:30Speaker 6: ten wins, expectation seven wins? Better not be four wins?
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: That's right way, Yeah, seventeen and now hope, what's your
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: hope expectation? And better not be for Drake May's touchdowns
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: slash passing yards.
- 1:46:47Speaker 6: Under fifteen interceptions be that better not.
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: Being interceptions are approaching the touchdowns.
- 1:46:55Speaker 4: Kind of be like a two fifteen is a good Yeah,
- 1:46:58Speaker 4: fifteen through forty touchdown correct?
- 1:47:01Speaker 6: I agree with you two to one ration. I think
- 1:47:03Speaker 6: someone recently had like forty one and sixteen. I could
- 1:47:06Speaker 6: I could live, I could live. I think Josh Allen
- 1:47:08Speaker 6: might have had a year like.
- 1:47:09Speaker 4: That's quite crazy. Yeah, I even throw forty three.
- 1:47:12Speaker 7: No, I'm just saying, like to your point, like I
- 1:47:15Speaker 7: can live with fifteen recks. If he's showing forty touchdowns, yeah,
- 1:47:19Speaker 7: I think.
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: My hope for touchdowns is forty. My expectation is thirty
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: and better not be. Ten.
- 1:47:26Speaker 4: Man, if he throws thirty touchdown passes, they're going to
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: be They're going to be in the playoffs.
- 1:47:30Speaker 2: Like my hope.
- 1:47:30Speaker 6: My hope is thirty.
- 1:47:32Speaker 7: My expectation is twenty five and better not be anything
- 1:47:36Speaker 7: less than twenty.
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: What if you're like runs in ten though, you know,
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: like my.
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: Passing yard points see this more evan pushback. My passing
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: yards is forty two hundred hope, thirty five hundred expectation,
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: and I think under three thousand, better not be.
- 1:47:53Speaker 6: I got to have my expectation four thousand.
- 1:47:55Speaker 7: I think in the seventeen game season, I need my
- 1:47:57Speaker 7: quarterback to play and throw over four thousand yards.
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: Right, that's fair. And what about points per game allowed
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: and scored? Oh, Fred under fifteen? Right, remember that a
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: couple of years ago.
- 1:48:09Speaker 6: I mean, let's say twenty seven game.
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: So that's your hope for that's my no, that's my hope.
- 1:48:17Speaker 6: No score, yeah, yeah, offensively twenty seven.
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: I'm not going to go to thirty, But I mean thirty,
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: you know, that's twenty seven.
- 1:48:25Speaker 6: That's still pretty high.
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: I think that Mac Jones team was like twenty five
- 1:48:28Speaker 4: or twenty six a game exactly, So I would say
- 1:48:31Speaker 4: that that's probably.
- 1:48:33Speaker 6: Like a lot of defensive scores.
- 1:48:35Speaker 4: That's probably the hope is that it would be like, ye,
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: the same as that obviously look different. But yeah, ever
- 1:48:43Speaker 4: being realistic, expectation twenty twenty, No, it's got to be
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: at least twenty one and one.
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: No, my expectation is twenty six twenty six. Expectation never
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: going to lose.
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: That's a big number.
- 1:48:57Speaker 6: This expectation is forty touchdowns. All right, Patriots, we'll see
- 1:49:01Speaker 6: us as not meeting expectations.
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: If that's my expectations.
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: Somebody that predicted them to go thirteen and four might
- 1:49:07Speaker 4: be right.
- 1:49:09Speaker 6: I thought we were trying to.
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: Okay, what is that those previous I don't know. Ed
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: in Florida writes in with a new direction in the
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: way the team is going, I think we should have
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: new game day music. Crazy train has run its course.
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: My suggestion would be enter Sandman. Does the group have
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: any thoughts? I love that, but that's that's copycat, right.
- 1:49:32Speaker 7: You can't do Yeah, I'm all for what's changing up
- 1:49:36Speaker 7: because it's run its course.
- 1:49:37Speaker 6: But we don't want to steal someone else's.
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: It's hard.
- 1:49:40Speaker 6: That's it's really hard.
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: We wanted to tech come.
- 1:49:43Speaker 6: Up with something that's different.
- 1:49:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I like Welcome to the Jungle. There's just songs
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: that are just generic. I don't know, it's so it's
- 1:49:49Speaker 3: so hard. I think about them, the jungles of Celtics, right, Like,
- 1:49:52Speaker 3: I mean there's always there's like what five six songs
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: that everybody.
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: Man Andrew Sam is a great song.
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: But like as a Bostonian, like I think Mariano Rivera
- 1:50:01Speaker 4: and like you can't have that, like you can't be
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: taking stuff.
- 1:50:04Speaker 2: From the air.
- 1:50:04Speaker 7: I mean it's great, like that tradition is great. I
- 1:50:07Speaker 7: just think if you want, you need to start your
- 1:50:09Speaker 7: own tradition. Yes, I'm a big fan around I'm telling.
- 1:50:12Speaker 6: You it's easy.
- 1:50:13Speaker 7: No, but that's that's what the goal should be, is
- 1:50:16Speaker 7: to start your own tradition, write our own.
- 1:50:19Speaker 6: Really kick ass intro song. It's like us playing music.
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: Back on the field.
- 1:50:30Speaker 7: Like it's like a big It's like a big band
- 1:50:32Speaker 7: era swing.
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: You're down to the Patriots. We're gonna run all over.
- 1:50:39Speaker 4: I'm gonna go on the run ball I'm pumped up
- 1:50:40Speaker 4: or you you can get a seal here, I'm gonna
- 1:50:43Speaker 4: run over in the.
- 1:50:49Speaker 6: It is a great question.
- 1:50:49Speaker 3: I think about it, like sometimes I'm listening to like
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: my you know, iPod on my music, Apple Music, whatever,
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: the m P three play my P three player, my
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: cassette tape.
- 1:50:58Speaker 6: You know, it's a song to come on, like with
- 1:51:00Speaker 6: this be a good one.
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: There's no like you can't come up with a new
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: hype song, like I feel like they already exist. It's
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: hard to go outside of the outside of the box.
- 1:51:06Speaker 8: You know.
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: Well, it's got to get you right at the beginning.
- 1:51:09Speaker 6: So anybody used Lose Yourself?
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: I mean the Lions, Yeah, Detroit.
- 1:51:13Speaker 4: I don't know if they use it, but like that's
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: kind of yeah, I can't.
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: You got to have that recognizable, I like, but you
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: hear it.
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: You know at the beginning of Metal the Store Ragnarok,
- 1:51:23Speaker 3: they used immigrant song by Let's up on a Little
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: But you know that's like that, yeah, you know that.
- 1:51:32Speaker 7: I know he really has worked on his music in
- 1:51:35Speaker 7: the off season because I got both of.
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: Them, well, like the Thorpe trailer use that, yeah for
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: their trailer, and it was really good.
- 1:51:43Speaker 6: Yeah, it's great. That's a great pump up song.
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: But you know again, like we're going back to the seventies,
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: Like there isn't like a modern song.
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: We don't have.
- 1:51:50Speaker 4: We don't do rock bands.
- 1:51:51Speaker 6: Well, you don't do the seventies, says we know with Josh,
- 1:51:53Speaker 6: So we don't.
- 1:51:54Speaker 4: We don't do rock.
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: If you do want to use eminem, I would use
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: till I collapse.
- 1:51:57Speaker 15: That's eminem.
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: That's that is like I'm like, but like there's like
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: certain songs that you hear like Hotel California in the
- 1:52:05Speaker 2: moment I got to listen, Like there's one that I
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: love from the Hollys called Long Cool Woman Dress. Like
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: when I hear that song, crank it up, you know,
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: But I don't think that would work now to people.
- 1:52:17Speaker 4: It's very disappointing the side note of music in general,
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: Like we don't have any of that.
- 1:52:23Speaker 6: No, Like we can't use a distract.
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: Right, Like it's I mean that would be cool, but
- 1:52:28Speaker 4: like we don't have any of that because like there's
- 1:52:30Speaker 4: other thing as bands anywhere, you know, like you guys,
- 1:52:35Speaker 4: it's it's a it's a point of contention for me
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: that like that I really thought about like we kind
- 1:52:39Speaker 4: of write like no bands anymore really, like you know,
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: I mean Green Day was a band, but like that,
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: that's like you literally have to go that far back
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: to find like an actual rock band. There's no bands,
- 1:52:51Speaker 4: Like there's no lot of bands like.
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: We will never Dragons took over the scene.
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: You will never have like a Mick Jagger like that
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: does doesn't like we don't have a Rolling Stones, we
- 1:53:01Speaker 4: don't have uh the who led Zeppelin? Like that stuff
- 1:53:06Speaker 4: doesn't exist.
- 1:53:07Speaker 19: Like you got to go back to like like it's
- 1:53:17Speaker 19: like Taylor Swift, Yeah, exactly right, Like you don't know
- 1:53:19Speaker 19: who's in Taylor Swiss band.
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: No it's not you know it's not it's not led Zeppelin,
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: it's Taylor Swift.
- 1:53:25Speaker 6: I never thought of that.
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's something that I've thought about.
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: A lot, I guess, like like even like Pearl Jam,
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: are they a band?
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: Yeah, but like they're going back a little bit, you know,
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: Alex checking in what she said, uh like while you're
- 1:53:41Speaker 4: looking at that bill and San Diego says.
- 1:53:42Speaker 7: Not that French Montana featuring Rick Ross, Drake and Lil Wayne,
- 1:53:46Speaker 7: there's a Rick Ross line that goes balling, balling, Like
- 1:53:49Speaker 7: I play for New England.
- 1:53:51Speaker 4: That's true. Yeah, that was back up.
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: Bill in San Diego says new Patriots song Somebody's Gonna
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: Get their Heads kicked in tonight by the Resilios.
- 1:54:00Speaker 6: I've never heard it familiar, but I like the title
- 1:54:02Speaker 6: of it.
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: Yeah, Someone's gonna get their head kicked in. Robert says,
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: Van Halen's right now now, like like, you gotta have
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: an edge to it.
- 1:54:16Speaker 6: Alex says, use Panama. I you're gonna use van Halen Panama.
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: I like Panama.
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: But the kids these days are going to be like,
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: what is this music?
- 1:54:23Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: Don't you just wish you could crack the code that
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: and be like, wow, they played this is their entry
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: song and no one's ever thought of something like that before.
- 1:54:30Speaker 6: We always do a C.
- 1:54:31Speaker 14: D C.
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: And Metallica and you know bon Jovi, those bands back then,
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: Like everybody uses those songs.
- 1:54:38Speaker 4: Need something new, There is nothing new. This is the problem.
- 1:54:43Speaker 6: We've got to make it. We're gonna write it ourselves.
- 1:54:45Speaker 6: I got the AI I haven't working on. Evan has
- 1:54:50Speaker 6: returned from practice.
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: Yeah that's a banger.
- 1:54:54Speaker 6: It's a banger.
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: The Patriots uniform, She says, Okay, how is about they
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: pick silver or gray and stick with that as a
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: complimentary color. So the helmet is the same gray or
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: silver as the pants. But how's about they don't go
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: back to the dynasty. Look, I do agree with the
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: modern twist of the dynasty with the cut, but I
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: do really like the more updated blueberry shade of blue.
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: Let's go forward, not back.
- 1:55:19Speaker 6: Okay, all right, sure a lot of opinions.
- 1:55:23Speaker 7: And Scott like the cut was a problem, Like I haven't. Yeah,
- 1:55:26Speaker 7: the uniforms remembers are all the same right around the league.
- 1:55:31Speaker 7: It's the same manufacturer.
- 1:55:33Speaker 6: It's like subtle Yeah, well that's what I mean. It'd
- 1:55:34Speaker 6: probably be inevitable.
- 1:55:35Speaker 3: But the subtle changes you went from, you went to
- 1:55:37Speaker 3: like the Reebok one that that Seymour is in right there,
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: to the Nike one that Brady's in right there.
- 1:55:43Speaker 6: You see some almost afraid to turn around.
- 1:55:45Speaker 7: I don't know if because I have to admit that
- 1:55:47Speaker 7: I don't notice the differences.
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: There is a different cut, like you go back to
- 1:55:52Speaker 2: like the seventies when they had the big shoulder pads
- 1:55:55Speaker 2: and the and the you know them.
- 1:55:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and it looks like my pop Warner, Like it looks.
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: Like a comment is about to crush the earth. Scott
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: san Diego says the dropkick Murphy shipping up the Boston
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: cliche cliche.
- 1:56:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, like obviously, like the first couple of
- 1:56:12Speaker 4: notes of that are good, but I agree, well.
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: Cliche Jack says eminence front by the Who.
- 1:56:20Speaker 6: Why don't I know that?
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: What's that?
- 1:56:23Speaker 6: One's the end of.
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: No, they've glorified it's just Devin in Toronto says, no bands,
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: terrible take just say you don't keep up with Rick
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: music anymore. Rick, I don't know what.
- 1:56:39Speaker 4: Tell me, Tell me who who were the popular?
- 1:56:41Speaker 2: My vote for entrance song is Blackout by Turnstile exactly.
- 1:56:46Speaker 4: No one knows who that is.
- 1:56:48Speaker 5: If you're gonna, you know, because we're boling in reverse
- 1:56:55Speaker 5: a great and no one knows who it is, Like
- 1:56:57Speaker 5: we're like your music official, I don't know.
- 1:57:00Speaker 4: But I'm sitting here, So what are you talking because
- 1:57:02Speaker 4: I'm you're talking about Rolling Stones and he brings up
- 1:57:04Speaker 4: Turnstyle like so this is a modern band.
- 1:57:08Speaker 7: But all right, so I'm gonna at the risk of defending,
- 1:57:12Speaker 7: what are we talking about? So don't you think if
- 1:57:15Speaker 7: if we're coming up with a song like this, it
- 1:57:16Speaker 7: needs to be universally known.
- 1:57:18Speaker 2: So like they I disagree with that premise.
- 1:57:21Speaker 6: Okay, I mean I would. I would think that.
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: Song that's we should make? What like, why might I
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: find a lesser known band that has a really good
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: and make it universally I don't we got set a
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: new trend to get to work on that one.
- 1:57:38Speaker 6: I just would feel like.
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: If you total the Stooligans is on it. If you
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: want sixty.
- 1:57:42Speaker 7: Thousand people to get jacked up before a game, I
- 1:57:46Speaker 7: don't think you're going to do it with a song
- 1:57:47Speaker 7: that they've never heard before.
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: Yeah, unless it's amazing, I don't.
- 1:57:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't's amazing you'd heard it.
- 1:57:53Speaker 7: I don't think fifty eight thousand people in the stands
- 1:57:56Speaker 7: care about like Turnstile, Hardy. You can do that to Hardy. Yeah,
- 1:58:01Speaker 7: Hardy is a music like snob I like to call him.
- 1:58:05Speaker 7: But he's going to be able to listen to something
- 1:58:08Speaker 7: and say, wow, that's really good.
- 1:58:10Speaker 6: Most people just listen to the songs that they know.
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm not.
- 1:58:14Speaker 6: Do you know what I mean?
- 1:58:15Speaker 4: We're tending to be a music officionado, but by no means.
- 1:58:18Speaker 4: But like you guys are naming bands like that are iconic.
- 1:58:21Speaker 4: All time great bands like no band in my in
- 1:58:25Speaker 4: my time on Earth has risen to those levels. That
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: was the only point I was trying to make.
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Corey. Corey says that the pages need a
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: new song. My vote is of Wolf and Man by Metallica.
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: At what point did they put Carmena Burana in there?
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: You know?
- 1:58:42Speaker 6: You know that that like kind of a classical song, Right,
- 1:58:45Speaker 6: that's an interesting.
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: Twister, multi talented.
- 1:58:50Speaker 7: It's it's better than negative ducee though, I have to
- 1:58:51Speaker 7: say that musical dudes, musical deuce is better than negative duce.
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: But angry Deuce is the best that will probably know
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: this one. Yeah, that's a good one. Very anthemy, it's
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: a very yeah.
- 1:59:02Speaker 6: Which one's that word for track eighteen on the eminem.
- 1:59:06Speaker 4: Show Track eighteen?
- 1:59:09Speaker 6: Sure, it's not seventeen, it's.
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: Eighteen, Say what you say? It's track seventeen. Sandstorm by
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: the Rude.
- 1:59:17Speaker 4: Yeah, Sandstorm is like a like dubstep song.
- 1:59:21Speaker 6: I wish I was writing all these down. I want
- 1:59:22Speaker 6: to listen to all of them.
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: Iron Man from Black Sabbath I do love.
- 1:59:30Speaker 3: I mean able to say he loves for whom the
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: belts are? Yeah right, No, those about the rock. Sorry,
- 1:59:35Speaker 3: those about.
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: About wap by Cardi B.
- 1:59:39Speaker 4: I don't know that love Cardi B. That that.
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to that because she's going to come
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: to a game.
- 1:59:46Speaker 4: Has to right the board pole.
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: That was great, el Elle, says Evans. Saying that there
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: aren't bands anymore is one of the most insane things
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: I've ever heard. There are tons of bands, ones that
- 1:59:57Speaker 2: tour the world. Even Okay, I think I think we've jumped.
- 2:00:02Speaker 4: I'm not saying that bands don't exist anymore. Like obviously
- 2:00:07Speaker 4: bands exist. But if I had to say to you,
- 2:00:10Speaker 4: like who is the band of my generation, I don't
- 2:00:13Speaker 4: have a great answer for it. That's all I'm saying.
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: That's fair enough. All right, that's and that's the end
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: of the show.
- 2:00:18Speaker 6: I gotta go graduate.
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: I got things to do, all right. Thanks for listening. Everyone.
- 2:00:25Speaker 2: Have a good weekend. Anything on the docket that we
