- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's. Adam here and in today's episode
- 0:43of The Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis
- 0:46session that is a. A kind of.
- 0:49Performance anxiety themed hypnosis session, but
- 0:53specifically for a competitive fighter that had a upcoming
- 0:59fight but also an upcoming open tournament.
- 1:02And they had moments in the past where they felt overwhelmed and
- 1:10kind of too reactive, like almost like in a storm of
- 1:15emotions. And they couldn't really
- 1:17maintain control in that moment. And they didn't really didn't
- 1:20want to kind of have that state coming up because they had other
- 1:24times that they fought very well, remained calm and
- 1:28composed. So you're going to hear.
- 1:31A bit. Of harnessing exactly the
- 1:33resource state that would be most useful for them.
- 1:36And I. Asked the question, as I often
- 1:38do, which person, you know, fictional or real, had the very
- 1:45resources, mindset or temperament that you would want
- 1:50in these upcoming fights. And for them it was the Irish
- 1:54fighter Conor McGregor. And they could recall one of
- 1:59their early fights where they just seemed very calm, very
- 2:03composed. And.
- 2:06Was able to respond to whatever happened in a very deliberate,
- 2:10intentional way and they wanted to harness that.
- 2:14So you're going to hear an element of stage disassociation,
- 2:19observing the resources in Conor McGregor, associating into those
- 2:25resources, feeling what it would have been like to have that
- 2:29temperament as if he was Conor McGregor and then observe a
- 2:35future fight. Could be this upcoming fight,
- 2:37could be the upcoming tournament where they see themselves with
- 2:41the qualities that they had just seen and then experienced within
- 2:45Conor McGregor. So there's a little bit going on
- 2:48here. And there was also a key
- 2:49metaphor, and that is that in a tornado or a hurricane, you have
- 2:56this weird thing where because of centrifugal force, the very
- 3:00center of a hurricane is actually very calm.
- 3:05It's very peaceful because all the chaos is happening around
- 3:07you. And that proved to be a very
- 3:10apartment metaphor for this particular client, because they
- 3:13wanted to feel that in the midst of all this chaos, they could
- 3:17have this Oasis of calm where they could get that composure,
- 3:22get that clarity, and decide what they wanted to do.
- 3:25Next I think. If you are a professional
- 3:28fighter or an amateur fighter, or you just fight competitively,
- 3:33you'll get some value from this session.
- 3:35But equally, you can use fighting as a metaphor, and that
- 3:38could be some form of key event, some kind of interaction.
- 3:44It could be a A-Team game where you've got an opponent and it
- 3:48isn't fighting. It might just be something else
- 3:50that's adversarial in nature. It could be a negotiation.
- 3:54So use this if you don't fight, you know, particularly in a
- 3:58competitive environment, as a metaphor for something that maps
- 4:01across to your life. As always, this was created for
- 4:05a specific individual, So if you feel like a more.
- 4:09Bespoke. Deliberate.
- 4:10Session created around you and your needs would be more
- 4:12beneficial. Then click the link in the show
- 4:15notes and you can schedule that free consultation call to
- 4:17explore working with me. For now though, find a quiet,
- 4:21comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 4:24Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 4:51you breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and
- 4:57relaxation. And as you exhale, feel a
- 5:04wonderful sense of release, particularly in the tiny muscles
- 5:10around your eyes. Notice with your eyes closed how
- 5:16much more of your attention you can give to the sound of my
- 5:23voice. Breathing in relaxation and
- 5:36exhaling tension. And just do a quick scan of your
- 5:41body just to see if there's any clues of tension, stress or
- 5:47anxiety. Sometimes it's hiding in the
- 5:51jaw, the neck or the shoulders, the forehead or the gut.
- 5:58But as you breathe in, then wonderful feeling of relaxation,
- 6:04feel that any unwanted emotions are starting to melt away, to
- 6:13dissolve and dilute, and feel a wonderful feeling that you're
- 6:19releasing them in your outward breath.
- 6:30The deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become, and the more
- 6:35relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 6:39So with each breath, just feel your body becoming heavier and
- 6:44more at ease. And as you breathe in, just
- 6:48imagine calmness washing over you.
- 6:54As you exhale, just allow yourself to continue to let go
- 6:58of tension or concerns or distractions.
- 7:06And with every word I say, your mind becomes clearer, your focus
- 7:15sharper and your body more relaxed.
- 7:22And notice the sensation, perhaps of your feet in your
- 7:30socks or shoes. Feel the support of the chair
- 7:37beneath you and just allow your attention to drift inwards.
- 7:48That's it. And I want you to imagine a
- 7:54staircase in front of you, but this staircase is made of solid
- 8:00gold. You're at the top of this solid
- 8:06gold staircase, encrusted with jewels, and every step you take
- 8:12down will take you deeper into relaxation, deeper into calm.
- 8:22So let's walk down that staircase now. 10 Releasing any
- 8:28tension in your face. 9 Loosening your jaw. 8 Feel a
- 8:39sense of release in your neck and your shoulders.
- 8:44And seven, feel your arms getting lighter and heavier at
- 8:51exactly the same time, loose and relaxed.
- 9:00And then six, that wave of relaxation rippling down into
- 9:06your fingers, then 5. As you breathe in, just imagine
- 9:11your internal organs start to relax too, continuing to walk
- 9:17down this gold staircase. Your heart relaxes, your lungs,
- 9:27stomach, diaphragm, they all relax now down into your gut as
- 9:33five becomes four. Walking down this gold staircase
- 9:38as you continue 3 down into your legs, feel a looseness in your
- 9:45legs. Imagine a puppet with no
- 9:50strings. Your arms and legs feel loose
- 9:53and relaxed. And then two down into your calf
- 9:56muscles and one down into your feet.
- 10:01And then zero. You're now at the bottom of this
- 10:04golden staircase, feeling that you've made a transition to a
- 10:14place where your mind is more open to powerful suggestions
- 10:20that are beneficial for you. And at the bottom of this
- 10:34staircase is a corridor, and the corridor leads into a private
- 10:45viewing room. Maybe it's ATV screen or a
- 10:49projector, but imagine taking a seat in this private viewing
- 10:55room and what you're seeing on a screen is a particular fighter
- 11:05just about to start a fight. And as you focus on the fighter,
- 11:15you recognize the fighter as Conor McGregor, just about to
- 11:23start round one of a very specific fight.
- 11:30You can tell from his facial expression, body movements.
- 11:39There is a looseness, a relaxation, a calmness, a hybrid
- 11:45of preparation and relaxation. I want you to observe qualities
- 11:56that you feel would be useful for you.
- 12:01Perhaps focus, determination or unshakeable self belief.
- 12:10I want you to see those facial expression, the breathing rate,
- 12:16the fluidity, the relaxation, what the eyes are fixated on.
- 12:29And maybe you detect an energy of certainty or positivity or
- 12:34unshakable self belief. I want you to observe the
- 12:43qualities as the fight starts. Pace, rhythm, and maybe there's
- 12:51certain things that are testing responses, figuring out a game
- 12:57plan, or maybe it's just relentless.
- 13:01Observe whatever you observe and start to feel that just by
- 13:07observing you are awakening those qualities within you.
- 13:20Observe how pressure is handled, how quickly some kind of
- 13:38unexpected hit is just brushed off like it's nothing.
- 13:45The ability to adapt. And maybe you get a sense that
- 13:50there is an unshakable belief that no matter what happens, he
- 13:56has the resources to turn the situation around.
- 14:05I want you to get a sense that all the qualities you're
- 14:09observing here have existed at a different time or a different
- 14:16context in your life. Feel that they are awakening
- 14:21within you. I want you to imagine rewinding
- 14:37that round, that fight just before it starts, and now
- 14:41stepping into this representation of Conor
- 14:47McGregor. Breathe the way he's breathing,
- 14:52feel the way he felt. Maybe you notice in a dialogue,
- 14:59a calmness, perhaps the calm before the storm.
- 15:05Feel it within you, a sense of absolute certainty and yet a
- 15:15willingness to observe everything, the tiniest of
- 15:20details, a movement, a look. Imagine the round starting and
- 15:31feel a sense of congruency, harmony between your mind and
- 15:40your body. You're breathing at the rate you
- 15:44need to breathe. You're regulating any adrenaline
- 15:48or cortisol. You feel like this is fun for
- 15:53you. Feel the strategy, ideas,
- 16:03opportunities just popping into your mind and have a deep sense
- 16:09that no matter what happens, there is always a new moment, a
- 16:15new opportunity to take things in the direction that you
- 16:22desire. I want you to step out of Conor
- 16:33McGregor. Be back in that private viewing
- 16:37room and this time imagine seeing yourself in the future in
- 16:49an upcoming fight and the same qualities that you saw on Conor
- 16:55McGregor. See them on you.
- 17:01The calmness, the confidence, the belief.
- 17:08Think of a specific event, fight, or opponent and see
- 17:16yourself just about to start that fight.
- 17:20Notice how you look, notice how you're breathing, And then just
- 17:25imagine the fight starts and you're the observer.
- 17:31Not in your body, just observing like it's on a screen.
- 17:40See yourself taking each fight as it comes, each moment as it
- 17:43comes. See yourself mindful, proactive
- 17:53in that you've prepared, but reactive in the sense then you
- 17:59will respond to what's happening while also following your
- 18:03strategic plan. And then I want you to see
- 18:10something happening, maybe we call it the pocket, a frenzy,
- 18:18maybe caused by you or by your opponent for a moment.
- 18:25See you emotionally losing control only for a moment, and
- 18:37then almost see an instinct activating like a light bulb
- 18:44going on. You realise what's happening and
- 18:49you take yourself out of the hurricane, out of the frenzy,
- 18:54out of the pocket. Take a step back, observe as you
- 19:01createspace for perspective. Maybe see your posture or
- 19:07breathing change. This is you no longer in the
- 19:13storm, you are in the eye of the storm.
- 19:17A respite of clarity in which to decide what is best to do next.
- 19:34I want you to get a sense this version of you has all the
- 19:39qualities you need to increase the probability of steering
- 19:46things in the way that you would want.
- 19:50If you're behind after one round, the slate is wiped clean.
- 19:57If you're ahead after a round, you ride the wave of momentum.
- 20:02Whatever happens is working for you, not against you.
- 20:05And because this is your imagination, see it happening
- 20:11exactly as you would want it to happen, winning in the way that
- 20:18you would want not to guarantee it, but to sow a seed of
- 20:25optimism and certainty and then rewind it to before it's even
- 20:35begun and. Step into that.
- 20:37Version of you imagining how this upcoming fight will be from
- 20:44a first person perspective. Maybe you can imagine the
- 20:50surroundings, the location, the opponent.
- 20:57Perhaps it's a ring or mats. Anything you know for sure.
- 21:03Picture it and anything you're not sure.
- 21:06Allow your imagination to fill in the blanks.
- 21:12Feel that sense of optimistic certainty, that unshakable self
- 21:17belief, a sense that you will do whatever your unconscious feels
- 21:29will give you an edge. And then imagine finding
- 21:33yourself there in the storm, there in the pocket.
- 21:37Feel temporarily that you've lost control just enough till
- 21:43you gain that clarity. Step back, breathe differently,
- 21:46have a different posture, and feel a sense of insight that the
- 21:55additional perspective now gives you an opportunity to steer
- 22:00things in the direction that you want.
- 22:06And if you can feel this hybrid of optimistic self belief, but
- 22:13also responsiveness, the ability to adapt quickly, just let me
- 22:19know by nodding your head, that's it.
- 22:24And notice where in your body you feel this and then amplify
- 22:28it here and in a dialogue, like a coach inside your own head,
- 22:38certain encouraging, positive, you've got this, nothing's lost.
- 22:48Whatever happens, this is winnable, and accept that it is
- 22:53absolutely true. Have the self fulfilling
- 22:58prophecy work for you rather than against you, and then
- 23:03imagine the fight going exactly as you would want it to go.
- 23:08Not as a prophecy, but as a signal that your unconscious
- 23:13believes that it is winnable, that you will do well and then
- 23:21imagine the fight finishing, knowing that whatever happens,
- 23:25you either win or you learn. There is never a loss unless you
- 23:31don't learn something. I want you to get a sense that
- 23:36you can harness it all, have it all working for you, that you
- 23:42have unshakable determination and belief, and take all of
- 23:47those qualities, harness them, find yourself back in that
- 23:55viewing room, but taking all of those qualities with you,
- 23:59knowing that they will activate when you need them most.
- 24:04As you leave the room, you walk down the corridor, see a golden
- 24:09staircase that takes you back to consciousness.
- 24:15Very soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 and you will imagine
- 24:20going up the staircase. Back to full.
- 24:23Consciousness in the here and the now.
- 24:27So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 24:32nose. Wiggle your fingers and wiggle
- 24:34your toes. Connect fully into the here and
- 24:36now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 24:43Starting to count. 123 Waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 24:50Open your eyes. Open your eyes, 910.
- 24:53Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
