- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: The husband is the main breadwinner in about 55% of marriages.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: Down from 85% in 1972, according to the research, she'll sell out the black millionaires under school or Instagram page.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: Less than less than men are being the breadwinner.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think about that?
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I don't care.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: I was my wife would turn up.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: But if it says something, either,
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: to the earning potential of men or women are stepping up and they don't trust these men to just take care of them.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: These are married men, right?
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, marriages.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: maybe it's a bit of both, I mean, I know there's so many people that I can think of right now that are getting divorced or recently divorced.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: And when I think about the dynamic of those relationships, many of those women defer to their husbands for provision, like complete provision.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: post divorce trying to rebuild and we see so much of it that maybe other women are entering marriages or other women who are in marriages are looking at it and saying let me have some business about myself.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but yeah, maybe I don't really like to step because now I would imagine there's way more same sex marriages to.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: So which one is the husband?
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: or are they discarding that as a factor in their calculations?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: But also, I don't believe that men are looked at as the provider as they used to be just more of a partner.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: You don't believe that men are looked at as a provider, just a partner, as much.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: Think about the 70s.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: The man is the provider.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: In 2026, we don't automatically associate the man as the provider.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: I look at him, it's like, can he be a good husband and providing a second, I think.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Can he be a good husband is the question?
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then there are categories that you audit for to determine if that's the right answer.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: If it's yes or no, I think that's the category.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then is the provider?
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Can he be a provider is one just like is he faithful?
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: Was his religion?
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think those are questions to determine is he going to be a good husband?
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I think back in those days, women looked at, I need, I'm looking for a head of household to take care of the household, will he be able to provide?
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: understood.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: So you're saying back in the day, they weren't concerned about him being a good husband.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's just I need a man that can provide and will come in and provide for me.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I'm going to build a family with you take care of stuff.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: I take care of the kids.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think it was more like that back in the day.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't have a lot of experience of the 70s, but I do believe that the way the
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: The family dynamic has looked at as much different.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: The family dynamic is completely different.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think that not only...
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: part what you just saw men not being looked at as providers anymore more and more research says that more women don't want to even be married anymore.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: I see posts all the time on threads and I don't want to give like a percentage because I don't have access to where I rent that.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: But I do see posts.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: literally every single day on threads of women who are opting out of marriage altogether, like they are equally okay with companionship or dating or things being casual, but they don't want the responsibility of having a husband.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot of people are like that.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now, they don't see the need of the matcha money like that.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we need each other.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we need mature.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: I was talking to a friend that was married.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's not married anymore anymore.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, y'all, I don't see myself ever getting married.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: And he's again, he said, well, what's the benefit?
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, if there's somebody I really rock with, that I love, we can live together.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: We can do all that, but I don't have to necessarily put myself in financial danger of it not working out.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: So do pre-nups not work anymore?
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: They do, but his point is why go over their hurdle of letting the government know that I married?
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: What is the benefit?
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: And if this doesn't work out, it's not a messy thing.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's just I can find someone else that I'm into.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I have been asked that question.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, why do you want to be married because I want to build a life with somebody, but then the question becomes, what is the benefit of marriage more than partnership?
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: What has the benefit to you, your married?
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: But when I was having a conversation with my friend, I was stuck.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Outside of, which is really, really important for me, the institution of marriage based on the biblical principle, a union, I believe in that.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I think anything outside of that is not necessarily biblical.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: So that is my stance of the benefit.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: If we remove that,
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not 100% sure I could answer it, really.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: So when I was asked that question, I have always been pro marriage.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pro love, I'm pro marriage, I'm all the things.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: It used to be that most people saw marriage and then when you think about the potential of divorce that it was a larger risk for the man than it is for the woman.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: it's as much of a risk for women, it can be as much of a risk for women as it is for men and laws keep changing or bending to put you in a really unfavorable situation.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: With all that knowledge, call me crazy.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: I still want to be married.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: You should want to be married.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: It was just how I was in her tight answer to the question.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: a marriage expert.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think because it's biblical is enough of a reason.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: For the same with you, I just believe in the holy sanctification of match for money, right?
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: But other than that, yeah, yeah, for those that aren't like, of that belief or the argument could be the even people who get into that matrimony divorce, too.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: For her, me, I'm of the belief that we're not going anywhere and I do believe that,
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: Another thing is I believe that I am super blessed because of this marriage and I believe it's a guardrail because if I was just single and I was just dating yes I could be monogamous and yes I can have a commitment to her but I don't have a commitment to God so I could leave this so it's not like I'm restricted but because I'm married I've guardrails
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Could you not make the same verbal commitment to God without marriage?
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: Probably good, but.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like, can you not just confess and profess to God and say, hey, God, this is my partner, this is who I choose, allow me to be faithful to allow us to be one, allow us to build this life and legacy and fulfill our purpose under your will and your blessing.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Can you not do that?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: You can, for sure, it's just not how it's not biblical.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's not where I challenge that.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, forgive me.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: like I don't need I don't need to be baptized.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need to do any of these things.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'll just do it my way.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm saying biblically that's the only pushback that I have to that.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Being unmarried in a relationship isn't biblical.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: Marriage is biblical.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: But divorce comes with very strict rule for sure.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: most people have considered divorce.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: Care to speak to that.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: What's the question?
- 9:34[UNKNOWN]: Ha ha ha.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: Give it a question.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: You're saying that marriage is biblical.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever, have you ever has divorced ever entered your mind, ever in your marriage?
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: It has entered my mind for a while.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: I remember you telling a story on the podcast one time.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, Dre was done and I'm like, all right, just make sure I got my kids, you know, all the things.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: And so, if that thought has entered your mind, thank God it never happened.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: You could have been prepared at that time to act in a non-biblical way.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't though.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: I thought into my, well, here's the thing, I never thought to divorce my wife.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: I've never thought like, you know what?
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm about to go file, paperwork to the, I've never, ever had that thought.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: We were in a situation like y'all might go to my parents house and I said what I said very permanent decision
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not going to file paperwork because I believe that not I believe, but vividly, I should not file divorce.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: If you leave me, you leave me.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: Cool.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: But I will never, ever, unless she cheats or she's abusing me, beat on me so much.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's the only ways.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not, I'm not leaving.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, we will be roommates for the next 15 years.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: So are you saying that biblically because of Bible law, you would stay in a situation, happier, unhappy, just to not be the one who files the paperwork.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: man I don't I don't think I could I don't think I could do that.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, not easy.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a really, really strong commitment to honor.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm thinking about just like living a biblical life period, because I know that every decision that I make isn't.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: along the lines of what's written biblically, it's like, where do you, where do you make a heart stance and where are you flexible?
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we shouldn't be flexible in any area, right?
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: But many of us have lived in perfect lives in sin.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: And so why, why be so rigid around this one principle of marriage?
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, for me personally, I'm rigid on all of the areas.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just as rigid on that as not stealing from anyone.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: Guy gives me, um, I bought something.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: Guy gives me too much change back.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: I leave.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, oh, crap.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: The guy gave me someone.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: It was like $5 extra.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I just couldn't let it go because internally I feel like I know I stole I can give it back So I went back and gave it to me and this is like the next day.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, yeah, thank you, bro
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm rigid in that way.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: You feel me like, I am super rigid on the Sabbath.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not doing nothing between the Sabbath.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care what the opportunity says.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I've been blessed enough to be tested in that and choose what I believe.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm super rigid on all those areas.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like we do these throughout the year.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: There's seven fees, three times a year, where many of them, there's like five AM and seven,
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: worship.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: So I got going to the church in 5 a.m. and in 730 p.m. for like 10 days.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: Another one's for 14 days or another one's for 7 days.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to do that.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm rigid in that way.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing that.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: You get what I'm saying.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I won't consciously go against my belief.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm a very best Nike.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: on their website has an error in pricing.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: Shoes are discounted to $200 pair of sneakers or discounted to $30.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: It catches wind on the internet that Nike's pricing isn't, I don't know what's up, but the shoes are really, really cheap.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: Are you buying up your shoes?
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think so.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: Are you certain or you don't think I don't I'm not certain.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I don't think I don't know I stopped buying people What's it called?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Food stamps because I didn't feel good about it
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: So you're not meeting the guy at the gas station for TV ever again.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: Me either.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: And but again, I'm not.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sneakers.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also not trying to like come off like super righteous.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: I am doing my very best to look good in the eyes of God.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I am my struggle just like everybody else has struggles.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm probably going to buy the sneakers if I'm man totally honest and understand if I get an email that says my order has been canceled I want to be upset if I cancel the order I get it, but
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: you're texting didn't check, you know, you're funneled team didn't check pricing.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like also it's the same concept of to me going in target and they have all of, I don't know if we're going to target anymore right now.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: Going in Walgreens and they have all of the, this particular brand of shampoo,
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: And one area under a sale price that says 50% off right and then you take it to the register and they say oh no this is regular price and you're like no this is 50% off is in that section and they say show me and you walk back there and you show them where they have multiple of this item on 50% off.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: they look at the tag and they see that this item doesn't match was on this tag, but because there are multiple of these items, they don't, they'd rather give it to you at that price than risk false advertisement, right?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: So they gotta give it to you at that price.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: And that way I buy the sneakers, because that is their policy, you can't, you can't.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: You can't sell someone something at a different price than what you price it at.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't unless unless I Feel convicted in that moment.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: So again, this isn't like What we're talking about for me is it right a wrong.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's how I feel in that moment.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, do you knowing How strongly you believe in Marriage being a union
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: and they're being no allowance for divorce outside of infidelity and abuse.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: Do you still advocate for other people to get married?
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: Because biblical.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: After years of building separately, we are happy to announce that we are finally joining forces.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: actionable CEO, morning and meet up.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: Those communities are coming together to do something special.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: And the special thing is we created a circle.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: Not just any circle, but the social proof circle.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: Some of y'all get me, some of y'all get daddy.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: Now you get us both in our expertise.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: So for entrepreneurs who are looking for personal development, professional development and financial development, you need to be in the circle.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: Join the circle.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, because it's biblical.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: So are you saying, I'd rather you get married than to just be fornicating, living with somebody, y'all need to get married because it's biblical.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: Or are you telling anybody like a single woman or a single man, they're not really dating, they're not pressed one way or the other, but you still need to get married because it's biblical.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: Do you believe everybody needs to get married because it's biblical?
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: I believe if you believe in biblical principles, yes.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not the authority to anybody anything.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I messed up who are me in my wife, intimate before we got married, absolutely.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I was at one of the driving factors.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I don't want to keep doing this.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I love you.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: You love me.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's why I got married a little faster than I recommend for somewhere.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I,
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: I believe what I believe and I can't push my belief on somebody else and everybody has their own internal relationship with God in what they believe they should be doing in the moment.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: So but I can't tell somebody in good conscious, hey, y'all just keep doing whatever y'all want to do and that's what I believe you should do.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: If you ask me, I'll tell you, but I wouldn't even inject my opinion into my senses relationship.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: So you think I should be a married woman?
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think you should be a married woman because you want to be a married woman.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: Not because it's biblical.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: What do you mean?
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: You're saying two things.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: You're saying I believe you should get married because it's biblical, but to me you said, I think you should be a married woman because you should be a married woman.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because you want to.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it was like, yo, I'm straight on all that, okay?
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm, I could be single.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: And Paul wants to be single, you should be single.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I do believe that you want that blessed union of marriage.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: So yes, I would like to see you married.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: How?
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you're not like out here as super sexually active.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: If you were like just busted it open, I'm like, Donnie, you need to sit down somewhere.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: Could you still be my bestie if I was out here just like in these streets?
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: You and care about that.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, I would care, but I'm not going to disown you because of your decision.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: Would you be telling me like, yo, if I called you, I'm like, yo, oh, let me tell you about the latest.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: You look bad, you're not bad.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: If I told you that, if I, you would tell me I'm 100%.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and what if I say it, they don't be over here judgmental.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not judgmental, but look at what you are.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: Let me judge you before.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: You, body is a temple in this temple.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: You is warm, but the shingles are falling.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: I do treat my body like a temple just for the world to know.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I treat my body.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: AC is broke.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'll actually go just out there.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: Everything is out of balance.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: But let me ask you, how are we putting too much on how we qualify our spouse?
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like you said, you've always told the story, like you met your wife on Tinder, and you guys were married within six months.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: You loved her, she loved you, you were sexually active, let's get married.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: There wasn't this, like, can he provide, can she do this, can she do that?
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: It was like very baseline qualifications.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: I just had the most random thought of, what were they basing their spouse, what was the spouse criteria in Bible days?
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: And are we, in modern days, putting too much criteria on qualifying a spouse?
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder what those qualifications were before they said, let me take, let me enter upon you.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because there wasn't a whole lot of, um,
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: There's not a lot of stories of dating, you know what I mean?
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: There's not a story of dating like Mary and Joseph was like, how you get out at any time?
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: There wasn't a saw her from afar.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: There was a saw her from afar and to cinch for her.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like there are things like that, but what were the qualifications?
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: If we really break it down and look at marriages in the Bible, can we pull out like what choosing factors were?
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe a woman who could bear children, um, maybe it was a man who could provide, uh, yeah, and protect, for sure.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: A woman who could bear children, a woman who could nurture a woman who could provide sex, um, a man who could provide sex, yeah.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, obviously, it's the elements of a virtual swimming that a man would desire, but I don't know if it was about height or their preference of whether they're vegan or not.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that was the goal, but I do believe that now marriages are a business decision.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'll elaborate on that.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: because, I mean, you have to consider and protect yourself nowadays, in terms of, like, like, again, my man was telling me, I'm not getting married because I don't even want to go through the process of getting a prenat and then I take on your financial burden and you take on mine.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: And if something happens, it's just a big, messy, expensive thing.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: I just like you, you like me.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, like these are some things you have to consider, especially if you're at a certain level of maybe the watch you're up here where you got a business going on, you got some money.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's too much, it's more than just love these days.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: Back then, it'd be like, oh my gosh, you broke.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm broke.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: I love you.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: We love each other.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just get married.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm coming back from the war.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I ain't seen you in forever.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: I love you.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get married.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: Get married.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I thought pre-nups were supposed to protect you from this fallout of what could happen in the case of divorce.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I have a mixed feeling about a pre-nup.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: I am going to get one because I see with my physical eye what's happening in the world.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't love the idea of a prenapped because I feel like it is planting seeds of a plan be or failure.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm gonna get one because I'm a smart woman and I see what's happening, right?
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody like if I were married and broke up divorce,
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: Just let's decide what's fair and keep it moving, right?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like let's decide what's fair and keep it moving.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: I am not trying to drag you through the mud for money.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: Now let's decide what's fair and keep it moving.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: And that probably has like quotation marks around it, right?
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: Because what's fair?
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: and I would hope that I would be married to a man who would want to let's decide was fair and I know that it's very possible because I have plenty of friends and acquaintances who have been divorced and they're like, I'm going to do what's fair.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking at all these people who are following for divorce in 2026 just celebrities and
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's a nasty thing, man.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's a nasty thing.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: You can't just consider building a family these days.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: You have to really consider the financial repercussions of getting into a marriage and getting out.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: And it sucks.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: It sucks.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: Should aren't you pernoors?
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, let me ask you this.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: What person, okay, if you're a whole pie, the whole Donnie pie, right?
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: What percentage do you think about business, what percentage do you think about relationships, and other stuff in your pie?
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: Donnie the woman, how often do I think about business and relationships?
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: All the stuff that goes on in your mind, what percentage would be relationship?
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm a single woman right now.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't do a whole lot of thinking about a relationship.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Don't think about it like that.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: Do I think about relationships?
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I think about... Oh, unfortunately, my life is consumed with even that thought or conversations or what have you?
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: Let me say this, when I'm in a relationship, I'm locked in on the relationship.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's, I don't know if it's 50, 50 thoughts like thoughts and business thoughts in relationship.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: And that's simply because of how I operate my day in the morning.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: We get up.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: We start doing work.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then throughout the day, we're checking on the person that we're in a relationship with, we sleep with the person that we're in a relationship with, so it probably has more to do, so in a relationship the way that I have historically shown up, I am always thinking about my person, one of my,
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: That said, I am always thinking about how I can contribute to someone, how I can add to their life, add to their experience, and that's a constant thought.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: But then business could be playing like a background, baseline thought as well.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm an entrepreneur in a relationship.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: I probably think about my relationship more than I think about my business.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: I've definitely think about my business more than I think about a relationship when I'm not.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like it'd be other way around though.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: Because if there's a void in that area, it's like, day, I want this void filled.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: This is hard to focus, no?
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, does that thought come up?
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I definitely think about my desire for a relationship, the type of man that I want to date.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: I talk to you about little things that I have going on and all the things.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: But it comes up and usually if I'm being honest, it usually comes up if somebody else brings it up.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll talk, you know, to one of my home girls, I don't talk on the phone to anybody every day.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: So someone will call and they'll say, okay, what's up?
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: What you got going on?
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: You dating anybody?
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: Have you met anybody?
- 27:48[SPEAKER_00]: And so then that becomes a conversation.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: Um, there will be guys who express interest and so, you know, you're thinking about it from a perspective of like, hmm, is it somebody that I should lend some time to or like that, but I don't, I don't necessarily sit and, I mean, it's included in my prayers, but I don't like sit and ponder on a relationship.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and I think men may have it bad too, because maybe men don't think relationship, but a lot of men do think intimacy.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of women think intimacy too.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: But like we are beyond a hut though.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: When I was single men, we were on a hunt too.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, we'll be on a hunt.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be on a hunt.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: Catch us at Aviation Time.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_00]: We're hunting.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_00]: All right, it's bad.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be on a hunt.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let's play that, please.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: So explain ovulation.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: So during ovulation, which happens after a woman's menstrual cycle, there's a period where our hormones are raging and we are extremely sexually aroused like everything triggers everything feels good to the touch a little bit better than it might have before.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and, and if you are a married man or involved in a relationship and you notice that there's like these weird couple of days where your woman is attacking you, yeah, she's probably ovulating a hundred.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: She's probably this is where her reproductive system is working and preparing to receive sperm like for for fertilization.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: So everything is working.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_00]: The body is calling the man, the woman's body is calling the man to them.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: And so when you are single and you're not out here mingle in in that area, you're not doing any lower extremity, mingling.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: You could make some calls.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: You could you could like listen, let me just be on one night.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: During one season, I had to asleep with my phone on my nightstand right by my bed, so I could just reach it.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm struggling to sleep this night.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, my goodness, what is happening here?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, I mean, there's always some phone options, right?
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean that they're the right option.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: And so I literally got up and put my phone in another room to make it inconvenient for me because I am a very disciplined person.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, I'm just, at this time, I'm not sexually active, right?
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: very disciplined person.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: I am not like easily beded.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: You can't get me into your bed easily.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not like just because I'm turned on doesn't mean I'm trying to, I don't act.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: I could be turned on.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not acting on everything.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: But that one night I said, oh, oh, it's doubling down.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: There's a double down.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_00]: I had to put my phone in another room because that happened.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: So when we talk about like, I think
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think men desire relationship, just as much as women desire relationship.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that is highly possible that men think about sex as much as women think about sex.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_00]: We love sex too.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: We do.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's because that conversation was so taboo, it was so dirty and so filthy before that there aren't more women who scream to the mountaintops like, I want some too.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: And we think about it just as much.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: I might think, like, we'll leave it there.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: Just leave it there.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: We'll leave it there.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, we'll leave it there.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: We'll leave it there.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just leave it there.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: There are times where it works both ways, and I just need men and women to understand this.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: men look at women and say, oh, like, I could have that.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: We look at men too.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like I can think of a man that I can, I'll take him down.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: You hear me?
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: I will take him down, but I won't, but I could.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I would, like we have those same thoughts.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_00]: We do.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, back to marriage, though.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: And entrepreneurs, but when it comes to protecting yourself as an entrepreneur,
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: If you were unmarried and just getting married in this season, being who you are, the David Shands that is well-known and has some assets now, what are some things that you would do to protect yourself as an entrepreneur?
- 32:35[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, protect myself financially or to protect your assets, to protect what you've built, but you want to get married and you see the same headlines that I see of all these divorces and all of these splitting of marital assets and how this person was worth a hundred million, but they just paid their wife out 35 million like how do you tell them that you're going to
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so if you don't have a prenaut, what do you think is a fair deal in the event of a divorce?
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I don't know.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even ever thought about it.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: Because I actually believed that being my wife would never, ever get the divorce.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_00]: So not even as a relates to you and Dre.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_00]: If your home boy comes to you and says, bro, like we're gonna get divorced and I've made $25 million.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: I have over $30 million in assets.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: I am liquid, let's just say, let's just say they're liquid $12 million.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna do was fair.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have a pre-nut.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think is fair?
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think what's fair is whatever they agreed to that is fair and we have to consider that however long that person's been with you they gave up some of their dreams to support you too or maybe they're at home with the kids why you wouldn't build that thing or who knows you may not have built it without her in your life that element being in your life you could have been out here in these streets and you know these random women take you down and you could have never built
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I will, I mean, in that scenario, he got 12 million cash.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: Give her what she's looking for.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_00]: She wants half, bro.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: Give her half.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: She wants, she knows that I have 25 million in and asses.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_00]: She wants 10.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: Give it to her.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: My wife can't even be like, yo, it's over.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: She got half of everything.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_00]: Half of everything.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I mean, that's what I signed up for and the good news about somebody who builds up a liquid state of $12 million and $25 million worth of asset, if you take a half it at, they can go build it again.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's fine.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: Take care of that person who took care of you.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: So then that leads me to the thought of one of the reasons that I want to be married is because I want to build a legacy that outlifts me, right?
- 35:25[SPEAKER_00]: And you and I are building things, and we're probably building things that will outlive both of us.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I want something with a partner that I'm deeply intimate with, like, duplicating what we do inside of a marriage just feels like a dream to me.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: But now, and I say the same thing, I don't know, it's not that I don't believe in marriage because I see it happening every day.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, while I don't think I'll stay in a situation that is miserable, my perspective is, we'll just have to make it un-missorable.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure, I understand.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: Right, like, we can go through a season of misery and look, be clear, I'm not staying miserable with you.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_00]: So figure it out.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we're doing everything to un-missorable our lives.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_00]: But then you get into a season where
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be abs and flows, and now you're in one of those abs where you're not really getting along.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you're even somebody sleeping on the couch, somebody sleeping in the bedroom.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_00]: You're not communicating well, but we're building together.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_00]: How do you just get back up and start working in the business when you've got this friction and marriage?
- 36:40[SPEAKER_00]: And is that even reasonable?
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: Can you do that?
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: Can you lock in on what you're building your miserable at home, but you're building this business together?
- 36:53[SPEAKER_00]: Can you lock in building the business together?
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're building this business.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't know.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know I don't know how that's even possible I don't know oh my gosh.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: That just sounds nasty.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: I remember dating this guy and I was helping him out significantly in his business and anytime we got into a disagreement he would lock me out of the company which I don't care like I'm here I'm helping you build your thing right but it it started to make me question.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_00]: Is this somebody that I want to risk building with like right now?
- 37:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm helping you build your thing, but it feels like it would be a huge risk.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_00]: If this is how you behave with me helping you build your thing, now I'm starting to see how big of a risk it could be building our thing.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I don't, I don't recommend building a business with your spouse at all.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: I want a hundred percent and I tell everybody this, if you're going to start a podcast, with your wife or your girlfriend, don't do it.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's a really, really bad idea.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: I would never, I don't want another element affecting the marriage.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: I just can't do it.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: And it doesn't, it never seems like a good idea to me.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: I've ever seen it work out long-term.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to think right now.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: Dear future wifey, they got there.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: They're man.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking about the plan.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: Latera is literally.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_00]: created that podcast with his wife's placeholder in mind.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like before he picked a wife, he always had it with his wife's placeholder in mind.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like I know that she's going to sit on this couch next to me.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like he built it with that in mind.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know how they're going to do it.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: Long term.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I would be last forever for sure, but my mind can't even really fathom how that works because I know what happens in the house affects what we do out here outside and I don't watch the show, but if I watch this show because I'm like in two of this stuff, I can probably tell when there's tension of the house.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_00]: for sure.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: For sure, but be less hand-holding, less leg pads like the energy is this way when that energy is this way.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_00]: I have a question.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: So this is it.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_00]: So I often talk about like something that's attractive to me is like being able to admire and respect your spouse, like not just respect them on a human to human, I respect you as a man, but you respect the way they think, you respect the way they make decisions, and you know, just,
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: what happens though when you respect your partner at a very high level, but you don't respect their business decisions, can that survive?
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: You respect them as just like a human.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: I respect you as my husband.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we have a really good time at never disrespect you.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_00]: I never be out here.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to talk to you crazy.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I respect you.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I have respect for you.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: But when you talk to me about your business decisions, I cringe, like your business decisions are, I have no respect.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's a failure after failure or you are a start and a quit and a start and a quit.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: And now, I just no longer have respect for your business
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't marry them for that, unless you did, they're not the problem.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: Did you marry them for who they are?
- 40:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's the part of who they are, though.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: It is, and you married that.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: So if my wife is working on her consistency.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: OK. Like doing something consistently, whether it's like the 75-hour challenge
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: But it doesn't mean I'd like, because I'm more disciplined than her, it doesn't mean that I don't respect her anymore.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's just that's one area that you're just, you're not really good at it.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: However, when it comes to teaching and kids or running a household, or she's working on designs for the new studio, and you're not gonna respect, you're not gonna respect or fall in love with every area of your spouse.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_01]: But you got to be mature enough to really lock into the parts that you like and there's a lot of people that will throw away the whole relationship because I don't respect this particular area.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if the business decisions are affecting the household and you're like you're essentially gambling our money and you're taking our household money and you're losing it in the stock market or your business decisions, I think that becomes more serious, but
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: If that's just their decision making, you know, like how they make decisions, I don't think that's a big problem.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a strong difference between not liking the way somebody does something and not respecting it.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think not liking it is like, I'm not on board with what you're doing.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like, you want to, you want to trade, I don't know about it, I don't like it.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_00]: You're good at it, I just don't like it, right?
- 42:23[SPEAKER_00]: Not respecting it, I think, can happen when that person.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: I remember being friends with this guy.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_00]: And he always had a meeting, just a meeting.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: What are you doing today?
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: Friends are dating.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_00]: We went on a couple of days, but he's my friend ultimately.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we decided that that wasn't going to be a thing.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm friends with this guy, and still to this day, he's just always had a freaking meeting, right?
- 42:56[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the reasons that I didn't proceed and dating him is because it
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: these meetings that he would take very seriously never resulted in anything like it never never led to anything so I started to ask him like well how are you qualifying what meetings you actually make time for right oh well you know this is happening this is going on we'll see we'll see we'll see and these meetings and these relationships and these introductions they never pan out to anything and
- 43:23[SPEAKER_00]: Not even anything that looked like it could develop in the future, like not expecting a media gratification, but it's like you'll take these meetings.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I joined him on a couple of these meetings, and I'm like, do these people know that they're the same meeting you're at?
- 43:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was the talk of all of them.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, do they know what the agenda is for this meeting?
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: And so then it would become like any time he said, yeah, oh, I just got these meetings today, man, meeting back and back and back and back and back.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: And this was the person who was in a situation that needed to be working, not meeting.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you need to be getting to work.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_00]: And so any time he would say like I got this meeting this meeting is meeting at cringe like Because I've witnessed now for years like because we're friends for years.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_00]: I've witnessed These meetings and it's not even like a doubt in meeting.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's like Whenever somebody just gives him a hint of something It's like, oh, let's make a meeting about it.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and this is not like one thing one day is real estate one day It's Texas one day is this one day is that so eventually now like when it comes to like business
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: really take you serious you wouldn't marry that person.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't marry that person.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: But somebody will.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: And somebody love the fact that they got meetings go on.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: You might just need to get a job.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: But that's like that's like if you have the signs of financial instability,
- 44:58[SPEAKER_00]: I could see though how guys like that are maybe in a different season of my life.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_00]: I would have dated to which is why selection process is so important.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: That podcast is so important because there's a there's a version of me.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: that would have dated that guy way too long, falling in love and ended up married.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_00]: There's a version of me that could, today's version of me is like, absolutely not.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_00]: But there was a younger Donnie who didn't really know what building business looked like, who didn't really know what progress over activity looked like, right, productivity over activity.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_00]: There's a version of me who didn't know that.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_00]: There's a version of me who would've just been smitten by how he made me feel.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_00]: outside of that.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like, but outside of that, he just makes me feel a way.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_00]: There's a version of me that there's a version of me that would have married potential.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_00]: And so now you're married and you see that this potential never manifests years later.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, and when you look at, when you look at what what he's qualifying to give his time to is like, yeah, but I mean, potential is just a big word
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: Do you truly believe that what this person is doing is going to manifest into something great?
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: Or I just like the fact that he's a meeting.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: He probably likes the fact that he's a meetings, because it sounds cool, but you are smart enough to investigate, like, okay, let me just hear what these meetings it's all about.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_00]: And you phrased it perfectly.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: He took meetings because it sounded important.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_00]: And because he, because I was able to realize that he just wanted to sound important, but wasn't doing anything to make this get to a next step, I lost respect for that part of him.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not potential.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not potential.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: Potential isn't, I can talk good about meetings.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: Potential is like, I see growth.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: I see something building.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_01]: This could potentially turn into something.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: This is why you guys tuning into our other show, the selection process podcast is so important because we have conversations like this with other entrepreneurs, David and I are two entrepreneurs who have interesting and engaging conversations all the time and we said, let's take it beyond our perspective and let's actually reveal what other entrepreneurs are thinking about.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: Some of those thoughts, we don't like it.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_00]: Some of it, we like it.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_00]: We get to learn and grow just like David
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: not potential potential means growth.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_00]: And now it just free like you don't have to feel bad when you say you don't date potential in a box.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_00]: You date potential that's qualified as potential.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_00]: We get to have conversations like this on selection process is so much fun.
