Sermon Outline

'Religious but not Righteous'

Two dangers for the devout person:

You boast in the law, but dishonour God (2:17-24)

You have the outward sign, but not the inward change (2:25-29)

Is there any advantage?

It is better to know God’s word (3:1-2)

but it’s not a guarantee of faithfulness (3:3-8)
