Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Today's variety, Big ninety eight point seven.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'll write some sunshine this afternoon. I have about forty three.
- 0:07Speaker 3: I just discovered the other day that in New Jersey
- 0:11Speaker 3: there's a proposal to require cursive handwriting instruction in grades
- 0:16Speaker 3: three through five, and it won the approval from the
- 0:20Speaker 3: State Assembly Education Committee earlier this month. There are gonna
- 0:23Speaker 3: be some kids on the East Coast who are going
- 0:26Speaker 3: to basically be exposed to cursive for the first time.
- 0:30Speaker 3: I didn't know there were places that did not teach
- 0:33Speaker 3: cursive handwriting.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Oh, that was such a big thing for me growing up.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I remember that was I don't know what grade we started,
- 0:42Speaker 2: but cursive was huge. And my daughter the only experience
- 0:46Speaker 2: I guess I have. Now she's in kindergarten and she
- 0:49Speaker 2: is already learning cursive.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Yeah, she loves it. Yeah, we had. I did cursive
- 0:53Speaker 3: in fourth and fifth grade. We'd have these little white
- 0:56Speaker 3: sheets of paper and we basically had to copy the
- 0:58Speaker 3: capitol letter yeah any times or whatever, and then the
- 1:01Speaker 3: lower case letter right below it. And we did that
- 1:05Speaker 3: from A all the way through the alphabet.
- 1:07Speaker 2: And I feel like cursive is just something that everybody
- 1:11Speaker 2: should know. I don't know why you wouldn't teach it. Yeah,
- 1:15Speaker 2: doesn't make sense to me that you wouldn't. This is
- 1:17Speaker 2: something that should be off the docket.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Yeah, it would take a long time for this to
- 1:21Speaker 3: actually happen. But if you think about it, if they
- 1:25Speaker 3: just stop teaching cursive right after, I don't know what it.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Would be, one hundred years, two hundred years.
- 1:30Speaker 3: There are a bunch of really old, very important documents
- 1:33Speaker 3: that what people just can't read because they've never been exposed.
- 1:36Speaker 1: To me, that's a really good point. You just don't
- 1:39Speaker 1: know how to read the declaration. Hey, sorry, can't do that.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Don't know cursive. We'll pass. Yeah, I think that.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I mean one of my favorite things growing up, and
- 1:49Speaker 2: I think everybody did it. That's how you doodled outside
- 1:53Speaker 2: of But you remember the smile, how you'd make the
- 1:56Speaker 2: How do you like a three D version of smile? Oh?
- 1:59Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:59Speaker 2: Do you remember what I'm saying for? Like bubble letters? Yep,
- 2:02Speaker 2: doodle lean your name over and over again with you know,
- 2:05Speaker 2: your third grade fourth grade crush on your notebook.
- 2:10Speaker 1: That was so fun, so true. Yeah, that's so true.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Well.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I had asked this question on Facebook. Should schools continue
- 2:17Speaker 3: to teach hand to write or to teach cursive handwriting,
- 2:20Speaker 3: excuse me, And it was pretty much an overwhelming yes.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Now I will go into one thing here. One of
- 2:26Speaker 3: the big things people are talking about on the Facebook
- 2:28Speaker 3: page is knowing how to sign your name, which you know,
- 2:32Speaker 3: if you're gonna buy a house or a car or
- 2:35Speaker 3: basically anything you know you need, or if.
- 2:37Speaker 2: You're like me and still using checks. Yes, kids, those
- 2:39Speaker 2: are these little things you used to.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Have a check book?
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yeah, they can. They can be used as form of payment.
- 2:47Speaker 3: I did do some googling because when I got my
- 2:50Speaker 3: first license when I was sixteen years old and got
- 2:53Speaker 3: to whatever, you know, sign the thing and take the
- 2:55Speaker 3: picture and go to the DMP, I had asked the
- 2:58Speaker 3: person behind the counter, It's like, hey, do I have
- 3:00Speaker 3: to sign my name or can I sort of do
- 3:03Speaker 3: whatever I want? And they told me you could sort
- 3:07Speaker 3: of do whatever you want. Your signature can be whatever
- 3:09Speaker 3: as long as the one on your ID is the
- 3:12Speaker 3: same as the one you used to sign something in
- 3:15Speaker 3: a bank.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Really, yes, I.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Thought it had to be signature to me means cursive
- 3:21Speaker 2: or you know what I mean, the loop d loops
- 3:23Speaker 2: who knows? And nowadays like we just did our taxes
- 3:26Speaker 2: and when your E file, I'm like, I can't. I'm
- 3:28Speaker 2: trying to use a mouse, right, just sign it. Just
- 3:31Speaker 2: it's gibberish at this point.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Yeah, because my cursive or my signature is really just
- 3:35Speaker 3: like a big letter and then a bunch of dog water, correct,
- 3:38Speaker 3: you know? So I look this up. Do signatures need
- 3:41Speaker 3: to be incursive? And according to the first thing that
- 3:45Speaker 3: showed up on Google, So I'm going with just the
- 3:47Speaker 3: first search. Okay, No, signatures do not have to be incursive.
- 3:52Speaker 3: You can print your name as a valid signature as
- 3:55Speaker 3: long as it's clear and let a legible representation of
- 3:58Speaker 3: your identity.
- 3:59Speaker 1: So that's I'm saying.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I think you can print your name on your license
- 4:02Speaker 3: if you want and make it your signature as long
- 4:05Speaker 3: as it is the same.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Now that you say that, my dad he his signature
- 4:10Speaker 2: and everything he writes in all capital letters, Like that's
- 4:15Speaker 2: what just and very I mean, I guess print would be.
- 4:19Speaker 2: It's very legible. It's not incursive. So I never really
- 4:22Speaker 2: thought about that until now. That's the only person I know.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Otherwise it's the big hoop de loop de loop letters
- 4:27Speaker 2: all over.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Now here's what you need to know.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Well, this is going to be pretty awesome. The NDSU
- 4:36Speaker 2: football team is going to the White House in US
- 4:38Speaker 2: Capital on April ninth, where they will meet President Trump
- 4:41Speaker 2: in honor of the national championship. Senator Hovin has been
- 4:45Speaker 2: working to coordinate this ever since they won. And from
- 4:48Speaker 2: the Oval Office on Friday, this is what they said.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Bison, go Bison, and thank you for inviting him to
- 4:55Speaker 3: the Whitehouse.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Very cool.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I don't care what your political views are. This is
- 4:59Speaker 2: just awesome.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah, getting to go to the White House and
- 5:03Speaker 3: walk around in there and meet whoever the President is
- 5:06Speaker 3: at the time, no matter it is. That's cool and
- 5:08Speaker 3: something you'll remember forever. Totally much deserved and you.
- 5:12Speaker 2: And D's director of athletics announced yesterday that there is
- 5:15Speaker 2: going to be a change being made in the leadership
- 5:17Speaker 2: of North Dakota's hockey program. Brad Berry, who just completed
- 5:20Speaker 2: his tenth season, will not return next season. Dane Jackson
- 5:23Speaker 2: will serve as the interim coach. They said they have
- 5:25Speaker 2: a national search that is already underway for the next
- 5:28Speaker 2: head coach and that will begin immediately. Yesterday, there was
- 5:31Speaker 2: a crowd of protesters lined up in front of the
- 5:33Speaker 2: Post Office in downtown Fargo as a part of a
- 5:35Speaker 2: nationwide protest aimed at President Trump's proposed changes to the
- 5:38Speaker 2: US Postal Service. He suggested moving the postal service under
- 5:42Speaker 2: the umbrella of the Commerce Department, and postal advocates, of course,
- 5:45Speaker 2: say this decision would be disastrous for the country.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Today, we're gonna go.
- 5:49Speaker 2: A little FuG We're supposed to have some sunshine today,
- 5:52Speaker 2: Hya forty three, and then I kind of thought we
- 5:54Speaker 2: were over the hump. There is a chance of kind
- 5:57Speaker 2: of a rain snow mixed tomorrow, and then we're often
- 5:59Speaker 2: real I'm gonna be fifty is maybe even sixty by Thursday,
- 6:02Speaker 2: and then everything I see is more rain. So the
- 6:04Speaker 2: attempts are starting to really warm up as we roll
- 6:07Speaker 2: into April already.
- 6:08Speaker 3: That's my least favorite four letter s word to hear
- 6:11Speaker 3: on the radio.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:13Speaker 5: No.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I was actually surprised when we woke up yesterday morning, like,
- 6:17Speaker 2: oh gosh, we actually got snow, and even then it's
- 6:20Speaker 2: gonna melt so fast, so it didn't really bother me.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It just felt like just kind of depressing me. My
- 6:25Speaker 1: heart just sank.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I got up to let the dog out to go
- 6:28Speaker 3: potty or whatever, and I open up the sliding or
- 6:31Speaker 3: the little what are they called the blinds or whatever
- 6:34Speaker 3: to get to out the sliding door, and it was
- 6:36Speaker 3: just like bright white, like no, this.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Again, we've been pretty spoiled.
- 6:41Speaker 2: We really didn't get a whole lot of snow this year,
- 6:43Speaker 2: so even just that little inter or two and it
- 6:45Speaker 2: was just enough to where you.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Had to shovel it. Yeah, just enough to be annoying. Exactly. Yeah,
- 6:50Speaker 3: thankfully the roads weren't too bad, but at least for
- 6:52Speaker 3: me on the way in though.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm ready for the sunshine today and like I said,
- 6:55Speaker 2: should be about forty three.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Today, Amanda.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Have you ever heard of someone putting a pinch of
- 7:00Speaker 3: salt in their coffee?
- 7:02Speaker 1: No, that seems really weird.
- 7:04Speaker 3: What about opening bags of chips from the bottom?
- 7:08Speaker 2: That would drive me crazy? Because I'm a little OCD.
- 7:11Speaker 2: That would drive me absolutely crazy. I have found some
- 7:15Speaker 2: of these interesting.
- 7:17Speaker 3: I think i'll just called life hacks that I got
- 7:19Speaker 3: to share with you coming up at seven to eleven.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Some of these I've never heard, and they make so
- 7:23Speaker 3: much sense. I think these actually work.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Okay, I need to know more about this salt in
- 7:27Speaker 2: the coffee. Today's variety Big ninety eight point seven. I've
- 7:33Speaker 2: ride some sunshine this afternoon. I have about forty three.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Beach season is just around the corner. I do know
- 7:39Speaker 3: that it's snowed over the weekend, but the weather will
- 7:41Speaker 3: warm up and we will be spending some time out
- 7:43Speaker 3: on the lake at the beach. Maybe you got a
- 7:45Speaker 3: summer vacation, and if you are ready for or if
- 7:49Speaker 3: you want to get ready for beach bod time.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I'm all in.
- 7:52Speaker 3: There is a hack that has gone Viviroll. That sounds
- 7:56Speaker 3: very strange, but I do think very doable.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Of the eat like a baby weight loss hack.
- 8:05Speaker 3: And no I'm not talking about mashed potatoes and little
- 8:08Speaker 3: mass beans and carrots. You don't need the little glass
- 8:12Speaker 3: jar of baby poo. Gosh ew, I have never heard
- 8:15Speaker 3: of this. Yeah, there's three very simple, very easy steps here, Amanda.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You just don't really.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Care for the name of it. Eat like a baby
- 8:21Speaker 2: like I'm a grown adult. It's like I need to
- 8:23Speaker 2: be nourished. I need to have all the food. I mean, granted,
- 8:26Speaker 2: hopefully you're nourishing your child, but what is the process
- 8:30Speaker 2: of this.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So there's three.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Steps, and you can eat every two to four hours.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Obviously, they have to be smaller meals.
- 8:38Speaker 3: If you're housing like a seventeen ounce sirloin steak every
- 8:43Speaker 3: two hours, that's not really gonna help you. But you
- 8:46Speaker 3: can eat whatever you want. Just eat smaller meals every
- 8:49Speaker 3: two to four hours. Number two, take your time. This
- 8:53Speaker 3: will never work for me ever, I can't. I'm the
- 8:56Speaker 3: same way. I just house it so fast, and I
- 9:00Speaker 3: hate it. My dad and I are the same way.
- 9:02Speaker 1: We eat eat.
- 9:03Speaker 2: My husband looks at me like I'm crazy. Sometimes I'm
- 9:06Speaker 2: done eating before he's even like.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Sat down down. Yeah, yeah, just a monster. Yeah. We
- 9:14Speaker 3: actually had talked about this. Whatever week it was where
- 9:17Speaker 3: I made this, I made spaghetti with the cream mushroom sauce,
- 9:20Speaker 3: and whenever, whatever week that was the exact same thing.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I was starving. I sit down.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Corey's waiting on the garlic bread to finish in the
- 9:29Speaker 3: in the oven, and there's three minutes left, and I said, honey.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I said, honey, I'm really sorry. I'm starving. And I
- 9:36Speaker 3: would normally wait for you, but in this case today
- 9:39Speaker 3: I'm just not.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I have waited for you to get home for like
- 9:42Speaker 1: twelve hours.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I'm hungry. Well, it is so shorue in three minutes
- 9:46Speaker 3: before the garlic bread.
- 9:47Speaker 2: If you were to actually take your time, your body
- 9:51Speaker 2: would become full instead of by the time it hasn't
- 9:53Speaker 2: even gone down.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You're on helping number two. Yeah, exact BOWLD numbers. And
- 9:58Speaker 1: now we're going, oh gosh, what was it? Yeah, and
- 10:01Speaker 1: then the last one.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Amanda and I think a lot of people are aware
- 10:03Speaker 3: of this here, but avoid the mindless munching. Babies don't
- 10:09Speaker 3: do it because they can't. We're not just giving babies
- 10:11Speaker 3: lazed potato chips and Doritos and little candies every second
- 10:15Speaker 3: of the day, like our office up front.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Those darn snickers are gonna kill me. If you're a grazer.
- 10:21Speaker 1: It's hard.
- 10:22Speaker 2: It's hard to monitor that too, Oh for sure.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Like my weekend eating habits, I'm just bored.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Eat Like I'm just sitting here eating all day for
- 10:32Speaker 2: no reason exactly. But on the weekdays I can easily
- 10:35Speaker 2: intermittent fast. I'll eat maybe a meal a day, right,
- 10:38Speaker 2: and I'm good, maybe a little snack. But the eating
- 10:40Speaker 2: every two to four hours, that's interesting.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd never really heard that necessarily, but I guess honestly,
- 10:46Speaker 3: it'd be breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the most part.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's yeah, that's very true.
- 10:50Speaker 3: And then it also does say when you avoid the
- 10:53Speaker 3: mindless munching, pay closer attention to.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Why you are eating. I'm probably guilty of this.
- 10:59Speaker 3: At eight thirty every night, there's a nice little bag
- 11:03Speaker 3: of popcorn that usually ends up in my lap.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And it's like, am I hungry? Or am I just bored?
- 11:07Speaker 2: Bored? That's the problem stress eating all of that? Is
- 11:10Speaker 2: there anything in here? Are we supposed to have bottles?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Because isn't eat like a baby? I'm just everybody going around.
- 11:16Speaker 2: It's like, what's in your bottle? That for a second
- 11:20Speaker 2: when I'm just curious, I got.
- 11:22Speaker 3: It Today's Variety, Big ninety eight point seven.
- 11:27Speaker 2: All right, I'm ready for it. Some sunshine this afternoon. Hi,
- 11:29Speaker 2: you about forty three.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Have you ever considered putting a pinch of salt in
- 11:34Speaker 3: your coffee?
- 11:35Speaker 2: I had never heard of it before. I would like
- 11:38Speaker 2: to know why I would. I would maybe give it
- 11:40Speaker 2: a shot. I have never heard of this either. Supposedly
- 11:43Speaker 2: it makes it taste way better. That's all the information
- 11:46Speaker 2: I've got. So I'm gonna try this after we're done
- 11:49Speaker 2: chit chatting here, and I will let you know if
- 11:50Speaker 2: it's worth it or not. I see, I'm not a
- 11:52Speaker 2: big salt fan. I feel is there a health benefit
- 11:56Speaker 2: for it, because for me not a healthy you know
- 12:00Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 12:01Speaker 1: Right?
- 12:01Speaker 2: You don't need to be adding any more sodium, I
- 12:03Speaker 2: don't think to my diet.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Supposedly it makes it taste way better.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Here's some other of these life hacks that I've found
- 12:09Speaker 3: on the internet that I actually think might be worth trying.
- 12:12Speaker 3: One of them maybe not so much, all right, but
- 12:14Speaker 3: this is great. Open a bag of chips from the
- 12:17Speaker 3: bottom is where all of the seasoning rests, so flipping
- 12:21Speaker 3: the bag makes it sprinkled down.
- 12:23Speaker 1: You have better tasting chips the whole way through.
- 12:26Speaker 2: But I also feel it's the same thing where you
- 12:30Speaker 2: then put them away unless you're eating the whole thing.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Let's say it's you're eating the whole bag, then it
- 12:35Speaker 2: would make sense. But if not, then you're gonna put
- 12:38Speaker 2: the chip clip back on and the season's gonna go
- 12:40Speaker 2: back down to the bottom again.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Don't you just shake it?
- 12:43Speaker 3: I'll be honest, I've never grabbed a bag of chips
- 12:46Speaker 3: going through the fast food place or whatever and went,
- 12:48Speaker 3: how can I make these chips taste better.
- 12:51Speaker 1: They all kind of taste they're already gone by the time.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Yeah right, all right, what about this one, Amanda? Write
- 12:56Speaker 3: down every good idea that you have. Do not depend
- 12:59Speaker 3: on your memory. I have notes and notes and notes
- 13:03Speaker 3: of ideas that I quick bullet point down and now
- 13:07Speaker 3: I have no idea what they are.
- 13:08Speaker 2: One of my favorite things to do in my phone
- 13:11Speaker 2: is every once in a while.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'll just be kind of bored.
- 13:13Speaker 2: If you have, like a doctor's appointment, you're sitting there
- 13:15Speaker 2: scrolling and you're done with all the other things, or
- 13:18Speaker 2: like on a flight when you don't maybe have service,
- 13:21Speaker 2: all go and read my notes.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I'm like, what does any of this thing even mean?
- 13:25Speaker 1: You don't even remember where did this come from?
- 13:27Speaker 2: But it is really hilarious the things that we think
- 13:29Speaker 2: is important at those moments.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Yeah, where was I going with this? What does this
- 13:33Speaker 3: even mean? What does it stand for? And now this
- 13:36Speaker 3: one I've never heard. I don't even know if this works,
- 13:39Speaker 3: but putting a slice of bread in your mouth while
- 13:43Speaker 3: cutting onions supposedly it absorbs some of the compounds that
- 13:49Speaker 3: make your eyes sting and start to water.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I guess experts.
- 13:53Speaker 3: I don't know if there's bread onion cutting experts out there,
- 13:56Speaker 3: but the experts say it's dumb, but people swear that it.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Works hilarious to just make somebody try it. I would
- 14:03Speaker 2: totally do something like this if I was making French
- 14:05Speaker 2: onion soup or something that I needed a bunch of
- 14:07Speaker 2: onions with. Yeah, so you just put it in your
- 14:10Speaker 2: mouth supposedly, Yeah, a whole thing like does it?
- 14:14Speaker 1: Wow? Just shove a hot dog butt in your mouth
- 14:17Speaker 1: and just here you go. Do you think you could
- 14:20Speaker 1: do that?
- 14:20Speaker 2: Yes?
- 14:21Speaker 3: I give it a what I don't know if I could,
- 14:23Speaker 3: I have kind of like a small mouth. You can
- 14:27Speaker 3: like a full thing of bread. I can't do all
- 14:29Speaker 3: that you would, I think.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Just an amount of bread. I don't think you need
- 14:33Speaker 2: to put the full that's what I'm saying. That's a
- 14:36Speaker 2: wild take. No, you just cut off a slice of bread. Yeah,
- 14:39Speaker 2: let it soak it up.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I don't think are you putting part of the crust
- 14:42Speaker 3: or you go on just the middle part?
- 14:44Speaker 1: I any part? I don't know. I don't know. Today's
- 14:51Speaker 1: variety Big ninety eight point seven.
- 14:52Speaker 2: A little bit of fog this morning, otherwise some sunshine today.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I have about forty three.
- 14:56Speaker 3: What an exciting week if you are a hockey fan
- 14:59Speaker 3: in the Fargo area or Fargo, Moorhead, whatever, just anywhere
- 15:03Speaker 3: in this area.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Absolutely, there's been an exciting obviously kind of start to
- 15:09Speaker 3: March madness basketball. Well, it is college hockey's turn and
- 15:14Speaker 3: it is coming too Fargo.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I love the joy on your face because this is
- 15:20Speaker 2: your jam and people everybody around here just loves hockey.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean they really really do.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And when you have the opportunity to watch these amazing teams,
- 15:27Speaker 2: why wouldn't you?
- 15:28Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly so me, I grew up in Minneapolis. I
- 15:32Speaker 3: know there might be some und fans around who are
- 15:34Speaker 3: gonna hate this, but I'm a giant Gopher hockey fan
- 15:37Speaker 3: growing up. I probably until I was in high school,
- 15:39Speaker 3: and you could go out and do things on Friday
- 15:42Speaker 3: and Saturday. Every Friday and Saturday, my mom, my dad,
- 15:45Speaker 3: my brother, my younger sister would sit down and watch
- 15:47Speaker 3: the go for hockey team.
- 15:48Speaker 1: That was awesome.
- 15:49Speaker 3: That was our Friday and Saturdays growing up. We'd get
- 15:51Speaker 3: pizza from Papa Murphy's and just watch college hockey.
- 15:54Speaker 2: So, needless to say, you're gonna be rooting for the Gophers,
- 15:58Speaker 2: which is fine.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Yes, I will yeah, or the rest of my life.
- 16:01Speaker 3: And they're not a whole lot that could sadly change
- 16:03Speaker 3: that now. I do respect you, nd though. One of
- 16:06Speaker 3: the greatest rivalries I think in college sports period was
- 16:09Speaker 3: the Gophers and und Growing up, it was incredible to watch.
- 16:13Speaker 3: But the University of Minnesota's hockey team is the number
- 16:17Speaker 3: two seed for the tournament and that their first game
- 16:20Speaker 3: is Thursday at Shields right here in Fargo. The Shields
- 16:24Speaker 3: are Renux.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, what time is that going to be done?
- 16:26Speaker 3: So that game is that I believe seven thirty Let
- 16:29Speaker 3: me check here, seven thirty. Yes, on Thursday, March twenty seventh.
- 16:33Speaker 3: And if they win, they will play Saturday. So I
- 16:36Speaker 3: don't think I'll be able to make the Thursday game.
- 16:38Speaker 3: That's just a tiny bit too late. Oh but if
- 16:41Speaker 3: the game, are you a fan or not?
- 16:43Speaker 1: Yeah, second out, you can stay up past your bedtime.
- 16:46Speaker 3: If they win Saturday, Corey and I do plan on
- 16:50Speaker 3: being at the game. So the first round they will
- 16:52Speaker 3: play U mass on Thursday, got it? And then if
- 16:55Speaker 3: they win I can't remember if it's Minnesota man Cato
- 16:58Speaker 3: or they I think they play like another Minnesota team.
- 17:00Speaker 2: What do they call this is this the Frozen Four.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Not yet, It's just kind of the college hockey tournament
- 17:05Speaker 3: to start, got it? This is to like get to
- 17:07Speaker 3: the Frozen Four and what have of you. Yes, but
- 17:10Speaker 3: I'm really excited the national tournament. I'm coming too Fargo,
- 17:13Speaker 3: and I couldn't be more jacked. And it'll be a
- 17:15Speaker 3: lot of fun. Hopefully I can grab some tickets. If not,
- 17:17Speaker 3: maybe I'll just buy them from some guy selling them
- 17:20Speaker 3: outside to stay the Shields Arena or something.
- 17:22Speaker 1: You we're new here, They're like, we're gonna make you
- 17:24Speaker 1: feel right at home. Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 3: So if you're looking for something to do this week
- 17:28Speaker 3: and you want to watch them really high level hockey.
- 17:30Speaker 3: You're a hockey fan, you know, the Spods just won
- 17:32Speaker 3: the state tournament. Maybe those kids want to go check
- 17:35Speaker 3: out the Ghosts. Maybe some of them have a chance
- 17:37Speaker 3: to go play for the University of Minnesota at some point.
- 17:39Speaker 3: It'll be pretty cool to be able to see them
- 17:41Speaker 3: just live and in person. So I'm very very happy
- 17:44Speaker 3: and excited about that.
- 17:45Speaker 1: And I mean, what if they lose, you probably should
- 17:47Speaker 1: go on Thursday. You don't even put that in the atmosphere, man,
- 17:52Speaker 1: are you doing it? Say it?
- 17:53Speaker 2: Get your tickets, bud, get your tickets.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Today's variety Big ninety eight point seven, a high of
- 18:02Speaker 3: forty three today. Eventually we will get some sunshine. So
- 18:06Speaker 3: an alright start to your work week here. Yes, and
- 18:09Speaker 3: it is also back to school for some kids. Spring
- 18:12Speaker 3: break is ov Yeah.
- 18:14Speaker 5: My kids are very excited to go to school. But
- 18:17Speaker 5: they are going to school for the very first time.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Here in Fargo.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Oh.
- 18:22Speaker 5: They start, they start like this is their first day.
- 18:25Speaker 5: I don't know who's more nervous, me or my kids,
- 18:29Speaker 5: because first day is scary, just even in a school
- 18:32Speaker 5: that you've been going to.
- 18:34Speaker 4: But this is brand new schools for both of them.
- 18:36Speaker 5: I've got an eighth grader and a second grader, and
- 18:40Speaker 5: I just don't know how this is gonna go.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yeah, how you feeling, mom? Are you nervous for them?
- 18:44Speaker 5: I'm so anxious because what if they have the worst
- 18:48Speaker 5: days at school and then they hate me and they're like,
- 18:50Speaker 5: how dare you bring us here and ruin our lives?
- 18:53Speaker 3: Nah?
- 18:54Speaker 1: Kids are pretty resilient. I think they'll be all right.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Is that just something that we say to feel better
- 19:00Speaker 5: about ourselves as parents?
- 19:02Speaker 1: That's so true.
- 19:03Speaker 3: I remember every first day of school my mother would
- 19:06Speaker 3: take the day off and always see us on the bus.
- 19:09Speaker 3: She did that until I was a senior in high
- 19:11Speaker 3: school and I wasn't. I didn't take the bus, you know,
- 19:14Speaker 3: but she had the day off every first day of
- 19:16Speaker 3: school of my life.
- 19:17Speaker 5: Okay, this is the sweetest thing ever. And that's what
- 19:19Speaker 5: I've done with my kids up until this point. What
- 19:22Speaker 5: I am gonna do is sneak out of here, yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 5: and then you know, see them onto the bus and
- 19:28Speaker 5: then come back because I can't miss this first day.
- 19:31Speaker 4: I think also why I'm so stressed out is.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Because typically first days for my kids haven't always been
- 19:36Speaker 5: the best. My older kid, when he started kindergarten, he
- 19:40Speaker 5: was not there for even an hour before I got
- 19:43Speaker 5: a call from the school nurse that he fell off
- 19:45Speaker 5: the jungle gym and bit straight through his lip.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Really, yes, eh, Well, if you have any advice for
- 19:52Speaker 3: Angie this morning, let us know at seven oh one
- 19:55Speaker 3: two eight zero one nine eight seven either A, have
- 19:58Speaker 3: you ever been the new kid at a school or
- 20:01Speaker 3: have you been the parent of a brand new kid
- 20:04Speaker 3: at a school?
- 20:05Speaker 1: And can you help us navigate through that here?
- 20:07Speaker 4: Yes, morning, if I need it.
- 20:09Speaker 3: On Big ninety eight point seven. Today's variety, Big ninety
- 20:14Speaker 3: eight point seven. Mostly cloudy to get our day started,
- 20:18Speaker 3: or maybe foggy is a better word. Otherwise we do
- 20:20Speaker 3: get some sunshine, mostly sonny in a high of forty three.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Today, it's Game.
- 20:25Speaker 3: And Angie Mornings Here, Angie. The astronauts made it back
- 20:28Speaker 3: from space, yes, last week, and you might be wondering. Man,
- 20:33Speaker 3: they were up there for quite some time, a lot
- 20:35Speaker 3: longer than was originally planned.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Yeah, it was like nine months or something.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah, they must have got some overtime, right.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't even think about overtime.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I been thinking about this for weeks.
- 20:44Speaker 4: How much did they make?
- 20:45Speaker 3: All?
- 20:45Speaker 1: Right?
- 20:46Speaker 3: So these stranded space astronauts came home and what they
- 20:50Speaker 3: ended up making in overtime quote unquote is five dollars
- 20:56Speaker 3: a day.
- 20:57Speaker 5: I'm sorry, five dollars a day, yep is what they
- 21:02Speaker 5: considered overtime.
- 21:03Speaker 4: How is that legal? Five dollars a day? What does
- 21:05Speaker 4: that come out to? So, yeah, five dollars a day
- 21:08Speaker 4: nine months.
- 21:09Speaker 3: We were kind of talking off the air, like hey,
- 21:11Speaker 3: what is this, Like, what does an astronaut just make
- 21:14Speaker 3: in a year?
- 21:14Speaker 1: What's their salary? What's their day to day?
- 21:17Speaker 5: Like?
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yeah, when they go like, I don't know, to the
- 21:21Speaker 1: office right.
- 21:23Speaker 5: When you're not literally floating in space, what are you doing?
- 21:26Speaker 4: But how much do they make a year?
- 21:28Speaker 3: So in a year they make around one hundred and
- 21:30Speaker 3: fifty thousand dollars, which is great money, solid money, Yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 3: but you'd think it'd be a lot more right for
- 21:38Speaker 3: going to space.
- 21:40Speaker 4: I feel like the risk rewarded.
- 21:42Speaker 1: You're not even close.
- 21:43Speaker 4: It's not very.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Balanced out at all.
- 21:46Speaker 3: What they ended up making being stuck in space for
- 21:50Speaker 3: two hundred and eighty six days was one thousand, four
- 21:54Speaker 3: hundred to thirty dollars.
- 21:56Speaker 5: That's the worst thing I've ever heard. That's not even
- 21:58Speaker 5: my weekly gross bill. With these two boys that eat
- 22:01Speaker 5: me out a.
- 22:02Speaker 1: House, and this is nothing.
- 22:05Speaker 3: The risk reward for space and salary is not even
- 22:09Speaker 3: close to being comparable.
- 22:11Speaker 5: If the absence of them being home wasn't enough of
- 22:15Speaker 5: a strain on their respective marriages, the fact that they've
- 22:17Speaker 5: made like no money, that's they're all getting divorce.
- 22:20Speaker 1: They're rich, broke, you know what I mean. Well, I
- 22:24Speaker 1: do like that.
- 22:24Speaker 3: NASA did note this, though NASA did say that meals, lodging,
- 22:31Speaker 3: and transportation was covered. Oh yeah, they're gonna all bundle
- 22:36Speaker 3: the together, just get themselves a space ship.
- 22:39Speaker 5: So mad.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Thank you NASA. Today's variety, Big ninety eight point seven.
- 22:47Speaker 3: It's Gabe and Angie. We have mostly sunshine and a
- 22:50Speaker 3: high of forty three on the way today.
- 22:52Speaker 5: We like that.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I like it. That's way better than snow.
- 22:56Speaker 3: I was really bum waking up yesterday and seeing or
- 22:58Speaker 3: two days ago I was at yesterday whatever. Yeah, waking
- 23:01Speaker 3: up and seeing snow in the driveway. I was not
- 23:04Speaker 3: thrilled about it. No, it was not great. Speaking of
- 23:07Speaker 3: the weekend, you know what was great. We had a
- 23:08Speaker 3: great time at Whimmers Diamonds. Yeah, and I were there
- 23:12Speaker 3: on Saturday for their big sale promotion and event, and
- 23:16Speaker 3: it was so much fun.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I had a great time.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Yeah, the ring and band spectacular and that actually goes
- 23:21Speaker 5: through tomorrow.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Yes, it does go until tomorrow.
- 23:24Speaker 5: But it was such a vibe and I had a
- 23:27Speaker 5: really great time looking at all of the really beautiful
- 23:30Speaker 5: pieces that.
- 23:30Speaker 4: They have there. However, Gabe, I'm a little.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Bit mad at you.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Oh you're not the first lady who said that to
- 23:38Speaker 3: me today, So today I wasn't mine.
- 23:41Speaker 1: No, I'm just kidding.
- 23:42Speaker 4: No, I'm a little bit mad at you.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Because we were looking at all these I was very
- 23:46Speaker 5: supportive when you were looking at Cuban chains, Gabe.
- 23:49Speaker 4: You want to be a Cuban chain wearing man now.
- 23:52Speaker 5: And I feel like I was hyping you up and
- 23:54Speaker 5: I was helping you look at like the different lengths
- 23:57Speaker 5: of the chain.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I am not gonna let you sit here. Lie.
- 24:01Speaker 3: You looked at me and went you with the chain,
- 24:04Speaker 3: and don't sit here and lie, Angie, I'm not lying.
- 24:08Speaker 1: How dare you? I felt you were a good tea.
- 24:11Speaker 5: I feel like I hyped you up, and I don't
- 24:13Speaker 5: think that you were very kind in return when I
- 24:18Speaker 5: was looking at engagement rings because I am not engaged yet.
- 24:24Speaker 4: But that's why you look for an engagement ring, because
- 24:26Speaker 4: you want to be engaged.
- 24:27Speaker 5: And you were kind of trolling me a little bit
- 24:30Speaker 5: about the fact that I was so into finding my
- 24:32Speaker 5: engagement ring.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Why was that?
- 24:34Speaker 3: How are you sure this is on the way? You
- 24:37Speaker 3: don't even really know, do you? How could you know?
- 24:40Speaker 5: I feel like he and I have discussed the M
- 24:42Speaker 5: word before that we would want to marry each other,
- 24:45Speaker 5: and I told you that, but I feel like you
- 24:47Speaker 5: kept being I felt gas lit, is what I felt.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Here's what I will say I learned a big word
- 24:53Speaker 3: this past Saturday, and that is the word manifest. I
- 24:57Speaker 3: have learned that that is such a lady thing to do.
- 25:03Speaker 3: I've never heard any of my buddies when we're playing
- 25:07Speaker 3: Call of Duty or whatever, go, you know, I'm really
- 25:09Speaker 3: gonna manifest a ten thousand dollars rais.
- 25:11Speaker 1: At work tomorrow or whatever.
- 25:13Speaker 3: But so I have learned that this is something that
- 25:17Speaker 3: ladies tend to do or whatever more than fella. So
- 25:20Speaker 3: I can appreciate that you were manifesting this potentially happening.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Yes, I am manifesting it. And let me tell you,
- 25:28Speaker 5: I think my manifesting powers are working because I did
- 25:32Speaker 5: take a picture with an engagement ring on.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Okay, gosh, I'm really putting the pressure.
- 25:38Speaker 5: And even though it didn't fit me all the way,
- 25:41Speaker 5: it was just like just to see. But I did
- 25:44Speaker 5: send the picture to my boyfriend and he went ahead
- 25:48Speaker 5: and went on the website and became like a little
- 25:50Speaker 5: member of whatever the women's situation.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's on the way. I just don't know when.
- 25:56Speaker 4: But stop hating on me, gab or you're not invited
- 25:58Speaker 4: to the wedding.
- 25:59Speaker 1: She doesn't know when, then yeah, dropping
- 26:03Speaker 4: Dropping Take ninety eight point seven
