- 0:08Speaker 1: So, I'm legally required to read the following message from
- 0:13Speaker 1: the Office of Management, Nickelback. Re, cease and desist, unlawful
- 0:19Speaker 1: mockery and excessive photograph jokes. To the hosts of No Dribble,
- 0:24Speaker 1: we write on behalf of Nickelback, the band, it has
- 0:27Speaker 1: come to our attention that your program has repeatedly and
- 0:30Speaker 1: Called the band a punchline when the band prefers legacy.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Suggested all our songs sound the same when some are
- 0:36Speaker 1: clearly different lengths. Used our name to describe anything mediocre
- 0:41Speaker 1: which has caused our client emotional distress and at least
- 0:44Speaker 1: one stern group chat. You are required within 14 business
- 0:48Speaker 1: days to cease the mockery or downgrade it to affectionate ribbing.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Play one Nickelback song in full, nodding along at least once.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Stop calling bad ideas very Nickelback. It's defamatory and it's
- 1:01Speaker 1: not even the right insult. If you fail to comply,
- 1:04Speaker 1: our client may release a new single about you. It
- 1:07Speaker 1: will be a banger and you will hate how much
- 1:09Speaker 1: you like it. Yours in rock and mild litigation, Head
- 1:13Speaker 1: of Management, Chief Morale Officer, Nickelback. Heard it here first.
- 1:17Speaker 1: You're on No Dribble.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Strap in!
- 1:30Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to No Dribble, the podcast where we
- 1:34Speaker 1: no longer mock Nickelback. We only talk about the Rugby League,
- 1:37Speaker 1: World Cup. There is no other sport that matters after
- 1:40Speaker 1: the weekend that we just had. We might talk about netball.
- 1:43Speaker 1: My name's Carolyn Swindell.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I'm Kath Coggs. I didn't get a cease and desist letter.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Isn't that interesting? Isn't that interesting? So don't make it
- 1:51Speaker 3: a collective no dribble has received it.
- 1:54Speaker 1: We're a team, Catherine.
- 1:55Speaker 3: No, we're not.
- 1:56Speaker 1: We're a team.
- 1:56Speaker 3: We are not.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Part of the team's not here at the moment.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Which is the funniest of stories. It's great. Isn't it ironic?
- 2:06Speaker 1: Yeah, so we're 40 minutes after our usual recording time
- 2:09Speaker 1: and Liz has been sending us various messages. And, Kath,
- 2:12Speaker 1: what's the latest update from Liz?
- 2:15Speaker 3: Well, remember a few weeks ago Liz Ellis was patting
- 2:18Speaker 3: herself on the back and she had herself with a
- 2:21Speaker 3: little halo.
- 2:21Speaker 1: What a saint.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Because she'd bought an electric vehicle.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yep.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Said electric vehicle has run out of charge.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So the exact message we got from her, and she
- 2:33Speaker 1: was driving from her place to Coomera to record something
- 2:36Speaker 1: I believe related to the Hall of Fame stuff, was,
- 2:41Speaker 1: She starts with the profanity and obviously we don't condone
- 2:45Speaker 1: that here at No Dribble. The whole world is conspiring
- 2:47Speaker 1: against me today. So sorry, ladies. I was ambitious. I
- 2:50Speaker 1: thought I could get to Coomera and back on a
- 2:52Speaker 1: single charge and prior to midday. Smashed in both accounts
- 2:55Speaker 1: by traffic, rain and the limitations of an EV. So
- 3:00Speaker 1: she will be joining us soon. But, you know, we
- 3:02Speaker 1: thought we'd get started with the chat because, first of all,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I'm very excited because look at my new shirt. which
- 3:08Speaker 1: I will acknowledge the colour does not suit me. I
- 3:11Speaker 1: will never by choice wear this colour, but it's my team.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Yeah, to be fair, that colour doesn't suit many people.
- 3:17Speaker 3: And plus we are starting now because if you're going
- 3:19Speaker 3: to have a crack at someone, it's best to do
- 3:21Speaker 3: it when they aren't here to defend themselves.
- 3:24Speaker 1: But this shirt, this is big. This is the Diamonds merch.
- 3:29Speaker 1: You can now walk into a shop, a Rebel Sport,
- 3:33Speaker 1: and you can buy this. diamonds merch it has been
- 3:36Speaker 1: a long time since we've been able to buy diamonds
- 3:40Speaker 1: merch anywhere other than online and this this is big
- 3:44Speaker 1: so congratulations to asics congratulations to the diamonds congratulations to
- 3:48Speaker 1: rebel sport for making a really good decision which the
- 3:51Speaker 1: dribblers are going to get behind right i know that
- 3:53Speaker 1: we're already seeing a lot of netball fans going in
- 3:55Speaker 1: there and checking out there's quite a few netball content
- 3:58Speaker 1: creators who are talking about going in there but Let's
- 4:01Speaker 1: all get around it. Like, look, it is actually lovely,
- 4:04Speaker 1: even though this colour does make me feel like I
- 4:07Speaker 1: look a bit nauseated. I think it's a lovely piece
- 4:10Speaker 1: of merch. There's a lighter lemon one. There's also a
- 4:13Speaker 1: really cool T-shirt, which is sort of.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Well, this is my Jamie Lee Price T-shirt. So we're
- 4:19Speaker 3: flying the flag today, aren't we? No, it does look nice.
- 4:22Speaker 3: And clearly you love the new things, the new shiny things.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I do like the new shiny things.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Now, don't forget, I had a little challenge when I
- 4:29Speaker 3: was in Japan.
- 4:30Speaker 1: There were terms and conditions. I don't have to do this.
- 4:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 3: No, you do have to do this.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I'll give you a cease and desist.
- 4:36Speaker 3: As a reminder to the dribblers, Carolyn sent me the
- 4:39Speaker 3: challenge of finding the most random beauty whatever. Not necessarily
- 4:45Speaker 3: a treatment but could have been an apparatus in Japan.
- 4:49Speaker 3: I found a few.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Good. Okay.
- 4:51Speaker 3: And I said that you had to do them as
- 4:54Speaker 3: much as possible right now because So are you ready?
- 4:59Speaker 1: Yes. I'm ready to hear what you think might happen.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I'm not necessarily ready to join in. But anyway, let's see.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Okay, ready? I'll give you the easiest one first.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Dun, dun, dun, dun.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Now this is to wrap around your head and your
- 5:18Speaker 3: chin and I think it's supposed to keep all the
- 5:20Speaker 3: things from sagging.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I'm so down with that. I'm putting that on straight away.
- 5:24Speaker 3: It's basically like a big headband but you don't wear
- 5:26Speaker 3: it Yeah. Across the top of your head.
- 5:29Speaker 1: And, of course, what I love with beauty products the
- 5:31Speaker 1: world over is that here is a product to deal
- 5:34Speaker 1: with the jowls and the like that we know that
- 5:37Speaker 1: we get as middle-aged women. And who have they got
- 5:39Speaker 1: on here? They've got someone who's 22 on the advertising.
- 5:43Speaker 3: So that's lovely. There's no jowls to be seen there.
- 5:45Speaker 3: But what I also love is that, of course, it's
- 5:47Speaker 3: in Japanese on the back, so you've got no idea.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Get your Google Translates out. That's exactly what I've been
- 5:52Speaker 3: doing the entire time. But I thought it's even funnier
- 5:54Speaker 3: if you've got no idea what you're supposed to do
- 5:56Speaker 3: with it. Trial and error.
- 5:58Speaker 1: All right.
- 5:59Speaker 3: You are going to look so young after I finish
- 6:01Speaker 3: with you. So let me get the next one out
- 6:02Speaker 3: while you're looking at this.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 6:04Speaker 3: This one. This is more bullying, by the way.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 6:08Speaker 3: I think I'm here to help you, aren't I?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Oh, here we go. Isn't this the point?
- 6:11Speaker 3: Don't bully. I'm assisting.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Oh, it's like a.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Oh, it's like sexy satin undies.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Is it sexy?
- 6:17Speaker 3: No, it's not. It's in the feel, not the look.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:20Speaker 4: So.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Ah, this is brilliant. It's not really podcast kind of material,
- 6:25Speaker 3: but this is why you need to be on YouTube team.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I see. I think I have to do.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Oh, there's nothing like a little bit of lacquer.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Oh, these are for the ears.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Hang on.
- 6:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:36Speaker 3: So it's a nice light pinky color. I think it's
- 6:38Speaker 3: probably supposed to be skin color. Yeah, that's it. And
- 6:41Speaker 3: then they stick that up.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:42Speaker 3: And then get a little bit of your hair in
- 6:44Speaker 3: underneath the Velcro. Oh, my God. You look 10 years
- 6:47Speaker 3: younger already. Yeah.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I can't. I'm doing it wrong that way.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I think it's supposed to be more on the top
- 6:54Speaker 3: of your head, that other bit. But anyway, so it's
- 6:57Speaker 3: going to lift your jowls and I think it's supposed to,
- 7:01Speaker 3: you know, just keep you a little bit more north.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Okay, I'm going to leave this on.
- 7:04Speaker 3: I think you should.
- 7:05Speaker 1: When this gets on, we say nothing, okay? We just
- 7:07Speaker 1: act totally normal and see how long it takes you
- 7:10Speaker 1: to say something.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Now, the next one is a classic face mask, you know,
- 7:14Speaker 3: the ones people put on and they go translucent and
- 7:16Speaker 3: then you take them off?
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like that, yeah.
- 7:17Speaker 3: But that was a little bit boring, so I got
- 7:19Speaker 3: you a Hello Kitty one.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Oh, not a kitty.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Which is actually leopard print.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 7:24Speaker 3: So when you put it on, you're going to look like.
- 7:26Speaker 1: So I'm not going to do that now, but I will,
- 7:29Speaker 1: when I do that one, I will take a photo
- 7:31Speaker 1: and put it on social media. Look at that. That's
- 7:34Speaker 1: so good. So good, right?
- 7:35Speaker 3: So you can look like a little tiger.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Do you remember at some stage the Sanrio people tried
- 7:39Speaker 1: to tell us that Hello Kitty's not a little girl?
- 7:41Speaker 1: And it's like, what do you mean? Of course she's
- 7:44Speaker 1: a little girl. And then they backpedaled and said, yes,
- 7:46Speaker 1: she's a little girl.
- 7:48Speaker 3: With the pink ribbon.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I feel so young.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Do you?
- 7:50Speaker 3: Okay, I haven't finished. Right, now this one I'm not
- 7:52Speaker 3: entirely sure how it works. It's a face exercising tool
- 8:01Speaker 3: of some sort. So a pink.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, this is terrific.
- 8:05Speaker 3: You put it in your mouth, either side of your mouth.
- 8:08Speaker 3: It's like a resistance band. Yeah, yeah. So give that
- 8:11Speaker 3: a go. How does it work though? Are you supposed
- 8:15Speaker 3: to move it sideways?
- 8:16Speaker 1: I'm a recruit.
- 8:17Speaker 5: Let me know.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Just get a shot of this.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I think it's a size.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Why?
- 8:24Speaker 3: Is it doing anything though?
- 8:26Speaker 1: Well, it's annoying me.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Guys, you need to watch this episode on YouTube. Sorry,
- 8:33Speaker 3: we're not giving you a whole heap right now.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Hold the product between your lips with the longer arm
- 8:38Speaker 1: on each and place it inside the mouth with the
- 8:40Speaker 1: smaller arm on each sticking outside the mouth.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Oh, I see.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 8:45Speaker 2: All right.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Did you have it back to front?
- 8:47Speaker 1: Slowly retract in a horizontal direction. Make a face as
- 8:50Speaker 1: if to pronounce the letter U. Concentrate on the muscles.
- 8:54Speaker 1: So I guess it's a muscle. It's a face trainer.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Oh, my God. I'm not going to recognise you. Okay. U.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Do you use? U. U. U. U.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Fuck you. Fuck you.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Fuck you.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Oh, brilliant.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Okay. We're firing here. Oh, we're not done. No. Oh, God, no,
- 9:18Speaker 3: we're not done. Okay, a couple more. I'll just run
- 9:20Speaker 3: through them.
- 9:20Speaker 4: I love that one.
- 9:21Speaker 3: These ones.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I can't wait for Pete to see me when he
- 9:23Speaker 1: gets home.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Oh, he's not going to recognise you.
- 9:24Speaker 1: It was our 20th wedding anniversary last week. If only
- 9:26Speaker 1: I'd done this beforehand.
- 9:27Speaker 3: So, you know when you get older and your eyelids
- 9:31Speaker 3: get a bit hooded?
- 9:32Speaker 1: Yes, I'm very familiar with these.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Okay, well, here you go. I've got something to help
- 9:36Speaker 3: you out. These are little stickers that you stick under your–
- 9:41Speaker 3: Or eyelid or on your eyelid to hold your hood up.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 3: So you're going to look more awake.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Eyelid tape.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Yeah. All right.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I'm not going to do that one now, but I
- 9:50Speaker 1: will try it again.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Okay, last one. Now, I remember.
- 9:53Speaker 1: You've been so generous.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Thank you. I'm so generous. I remember last week. I
- 9:56Speaker 3: can't wait for this to.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Get on and we see how long it takes her
- 9:58Speaker 1: to mention this.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Yes, I don't think so.
- 10:00Speaker 2: She will.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Remember last week you were talking about your wedding anniversary
- 10:03Speaker 3: and you said that you were thinking of something maybe
- 10:06Speaker 3: to spice it up a little bit? Yes. And I
- 10:08Speaker 3: started laughing straight away.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Yes.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Because I might have what you need for that.
- 10:17Speaker 1: What is this? What the hell is this?
- 10:21Speaker 3: It's basically a finger condom.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Finger cot. So is that for finger banging.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Or is it for medical?
- 10:28Speaker 1: I don't know. Very thin style to sit snugly on
- 10:33Speaker 1: the finger.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 10:37Speaker 1: For pointing finger, middle finger or ring finger, but for
- 10:41Speaker 1: office work and wet jobs.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Oh, there you go. It was in the office section,
- 10:47Speaker 3: but I thought, no, it's too good. I've got to
- 10:48Speaker 3: get you that.
- 10:49Speaker 1: So thank you so. Yeah, thank you. Maybe it's for
- 10:52Speaker 1: if you are sorting a lot.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Of papers or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what it is.
- 10:56Speaker 3: But let's get one and pop it on.
- 10:58Speaker 1: It's a finger cot.
- 10:59Speaker 3: So you're welcome.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Wow, I'm just going to look amazing.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, Victoria's Secret runway was like yesterday, I think. In
- 11:07Speaker 3: 12 months or so, I reckon you're good to go.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I can't see how this works, though. I mean, obviously,
- 11:14Speaker 1: you know.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Unless you wear it around all the time. But you
- 11:16Speaker 3: look beautiful.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you. Do you remember in, what was
- 11:20Speaker 1: that show, Ally McBeal, and there was that crazy woman
- 11:26Speaker 1: in it who was one of the secretaries, played by
- 11:28Speaker 1: an actor named Jane, I think, who was then in
- 11:31Speaker 1: 30 Rock, and she invented the face bra and she
- 11:34Speaker 1: was going to be famous for inventing the face bra.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Bra what did the face bra hold up the jowls
- 11:39Speaker 3: as well.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah i think it's the same sort of thing you
- 11:42Speaker 1: wear this you wear this to bed no.
- 11:44Speaker 3: You do look gorgeous you actually can't see it on.
- 11:46Speaker 2: The screen it's okay a little bit of a darker
- 11:50Speaker 2: darker thing and you're good to go so i loved
- 11:53Speaker 2: that challenge thank you so much we had lots of
- 11:55Speaker 2: fun and look For your wet areas.
- 11:58Speaker 1: That's lovely. For office jobs and wet jobs.
- 12:02Speaker 3: There we go.
- 12:03Speaker 1: We all need some of that. I'm going to be
- 12:04Speaker 1: doing my face training and that's great. I don't know
- 12:08Speaker 1: which is my, I think this is my favourite because
- 12:11Speaker 1: I can. I can still do my job. I can
- 12:13Speaker 1: go about my daily business doing a podcast and being
- 12:16Speaker 1: bullied while I wear it. It doesn't go well with
- 12:19Speaker 1: the colour of the diamonds. My husband made a point
- 12:22Speaker 1: on the weekend because we watch a lot of sport.
- 12:24Speaker 1: We watch the rugby league, we watch the rugby union
- 12:26Speaker 1: and we watch the diamonds match, which we will talk
- 12:28Speaker 1: about in a moment. And he said, why can't all
- 12:30Speaker 1: the sports just agree on a green and gold?
- 12:33Speaker 3: Because it's different.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Like it's just what are our team colours? The team
- 12:38Speaker 1: colours are green and gold and we've got all of
- 12:40Speaker 1: these variations and then different marketing people come in at
- 12:43Speaker 1: different stages and go, let's make another change. No, don't
- 12:46Speaker 1: make another change. Anyway, we're going to take a little break,
- 12:50Speaker 1: come back and we'll talk about some nipples. Okay, I
- 13:04Speaker 1: feel so active and alive that I would just like
- 13:07Speaker 1: to talk about netball. So we need to talk about
- 13:12Speaker 1: the Diamonds match, but exciting news.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Oh, my God, so exciting.
- 13:18Speaker 1: We're going to talk about that soon too. You may
- 13:21Speaker 1: have heard all about this on the Nine Network yesterday.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Oh.
- 13:25Speaker 1: They wouldn't let us have it as an announcement. Apparently,
- 13:28Speaker 1: the Nine Network has a much bigger reach than us.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So it's like, okay, then, if you're going to put
- 13:33Speaker 1: netball on free-to-air, you can have the exclusive on the
- 13:35Speaker 1: Super Netball Draw.
- 13:36Speaker 3: But didn't I do a good job on the Nine Network? When?
- 13:41Speaker 3: Because that will be me.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, you did an amazing job.
- 13:44Speaker 3: In the morning, when it is actually announced, I will
- 13:47Speaker 3: be doing it with Amy Sliger.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Oh, will you?
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Oh, Catherine, that's... so good i think you're their greatest
- 13:52Speaker 1: talent their hottest talent well let's come to that shortly
- 13:55Speaker 1: but there was another speaking of your jobs uh i
- 13:58Speaker 1: watched you do your job last night and as always
- 14:00Speaker 1: you did a magnificent job um maybe the best job
- 14:04Speaker 1: of any australian on the night i'm not sure uh
- 14:07Speaker 1: no that's not true georgie horchis.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Oh georgie horchis was the eventual mvp what is the
- 14:12Speaker 3: only player was 60 minutes which is certainly saying something
- 14:15Speaker 3: and i think there will be a A few mid-quarters
- 14:19Speaker 3: a little nervous, maybe.
- 14:21Speaker 1: And this is hard for me to say, but if
- 14:25Speaker 1: I'm Liz Watson, captain of the Australian Diamonds, I'm thinking
- 14:28Speaker 1: someone's just stuck her hand up and made a really,
- 14:31Speaker 1: really good case that she should have my job.
- 14:34Speaker 3: And let's not forget, there's no Kate Maloney in this side,
- 14:36Speaker 3: which makes a huge difference, particularly as I think Kim
- 14:40Speaker 3: or Paige mentioned last night, particularly when the chips are
- 14:43Speaker 3: down and it's a struggle to That leadership is not there.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 14:47Speaker 3: She's one of the greatest, let alone what she contributes
- 14:49Speaker 3: with the physical attributes.
- 14:50Speaker 1: So she's got a finger injury?
- 14:51Speaker 3: She's got a finger injury. We're hoping not too bad
- 14:54Speaker 3: and she's back for test two tonight, Christchurch.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Kate, if you need any finger cots, hit me up.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we've got you covered. So, I mean, huge
- 15:05Speaker 3: loss in the side and, you know, there was a
- 15:07Speaker 3: big debate with us last night around Jamie Lee Price's role. Yep.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Everyone agrees she needs to be on court. Yes. but
- 15:14Speaker 3: feel like she needs to be in centre and in
- 15:17Speaker 3: wing defence. Obviously tough for that to happen.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I thought Amy Parmenter did a fantastic job in wing defence.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I was really happy to see that.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Brilliant that the last quarter they managed to find the
- 15:26Speaker 3: diamond's way because, I mean, that's the last quarter, right?
- 15:30Speaker 3: So they can take a lot of that into the
- 15:31Speaker 3: next test and they'll need to. Jeez, the Kiwis were good.
- 15:36Speaker 1: So good.
- 15:37Speaker 3: So well drilled.
- 15:38Speaker 1: And there was so much depth on the bench too.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Like you just.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Well, 11 of that 12 are going to be playing
- 15:45Speaker 3: Super Netball next year.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 3: All but Paris Mason.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Far out.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:49Speaker 3: So they're going to get better.
- 15:50Speaker 1: But I will say, and I know that there'll be
- 15:52Speaker 1: a lot of people going, oh, they shouldn't be in
- 15:53Speaker 1: Super Netball. We're training them to beat us. But we
- 15:57Speaker 1: have not won in New Zealand since.
- 16:00Speaker 3: We haven't won in 11 matches now.
- 16:02Speaker 1: 11 matches.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Consecutive matches. We haven't won over there. Haven't won in
- 16:05Speaker 3: Auckland since 2019, if you can believe it. We should stop.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Going to Auckland. All of our sports should stop going
- 16:12Speaker 1: to Auckland. We go over there and we get beaten
- 16:14Speaker 1: in Auckland. So it's like, well, let's just not go
- 16:16Speaker 1: there anymore would be my view.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but Australia's not actually won the Constellation Cup. Yes,
- 16:22Speaker 3: we've won it recently. We've won three of the last five.
- 16:26Speaker 3: But we haven't won it outright since 2018. And by outright,
- 16:31Speaker 3: I mean winning three games or more. The Silver Ferns,
- 16:34Speaker 3: the two times they've won it out of the last
- 16:35Speaker 3: five have been 3-1.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Yep.
- 16:37Speaker 3: But we have always won it 2-2.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah, wow.
- 16:40Speaker 3: So it is a real challenge for us to get
- 16:43Speaker 3: the wins up in New Zealand and certainly going to
- 16:45Speaker 3: be harder again on Wednesday night because the Kiwis are
- 16:49Speaker 3: playing so well. They'll be all up and about. The
- 16:53Speaker 3: confidence levels are growing and you're right because I reckon
- 16:56Speaker 3: the bench has got a lot more in them that
- 16:58Speaker 3: we haven't quite seen yet too. Scary. Scary.
- 17:01Speaker 1: That is scary, isn't it?
- 17:02Speaker 3: Great, but scary.
- 17:03Speaker 1: A few things we have to mention about that. Congratulations
- 17:05Speaker 1: to Courtney Bruce who is now a centurion. And really
- 17:10Speaker 1: interesting symmetry there that, oh, no, I've forgotten it now.
- 17:15Speaker 1: So Jessie Grenvold in her first game. Yes, Jessie, as
- 17:19Speaker 1: the how many, what number is she?
- 17:20Speaker 3: Diamond 198.
- 17:21Speaker 2: 198.
- 17:21Speaker 3: I wonder who's going to be 200. That's exciting.
- 17:28Speaker 1: So she in her first game and Courtney in her
- 17:32Speaker 1: 100th game and Selena Gilson and Cameron spoke to them
- 17:35Speaker 1: and said that in her first game it was Liz's
- 17:39Speaker 1: 100th game there. So that is Liz Ellis who you
- 17:41Speaker 1: may remember used to host this podcast with us but
- 17:44Speaker 1: went and bought herself a new car because she's a
- 17:46Speaker 1: hippie and now can't get anywhere on time. So, you know,
- 17:49Speaker 1: what are we going to do about that? But yeah,
- 17:51Speaker 1: congratulations to Courtney Bruce. Sophie Garbin, it was her 50th game.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Oh, God, spare a thought for Sophie Garbin. The same
- 17:57Speaker 3: as it was for Cara Conan. Remember when Cara Conan
- 18:00Speaker 3: notched up her 50th? It was when Liz Watson had
- 18:02Speaker 3: her 100th as well. So a little overshadowed, but it's
- 18:05Speaker 3: not often you get centurions.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I thought Sophie played an extremely valuable role last night,
- 18:10Speaker 1: came on and just showed just, just. settled things, I thought,
- 18:15Speaker 1: just showed some real calmness and resolve there that was
- 18:19Speaker 1: exciting to see. But, yeah, I'm worried. Like I think
- 18:24Speaker 1: we got lucky only losing by six. I think that
- 18:27Speaker 1: had we lost by the 14 goals that the Ferns
- 18:29Speaker 1: were ahead by at one stage, that that would not
- 18:31Speaker 1: have been an unfair outcome. Like they were dominant from
- 18:38Speaker 1: the absolute get-go.
- 18:39Speaker 5: By 10.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Straight out of the blocks.
- 18:43Speaker 3: No, in the first quarter.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Were they up by 10? I thought it was up
- 18:46Speaker 1: by five.
- 18:46Speaker 3: In the first quarter, up by 10 at halftime.
- 18:49Speaker 1: And then at three-quarter time, maybe up by 14. It's like,
- 18:52Speaker 1: and then we pegged it back. But I do want
- 18:55Speaker 1: to say, though, to the New Zealand camera team, this
- 18:59Speaker 1: business of getting the really high angle down at the
- 19:03Speaker 1: corner where I'm looking down over the goal circle and
- 19:07Speaker 1: I can't see part of it and you've taken me
- 19:10Speaker 1: up high, To me, it's like the Blair Witch Project.
- 19:12Speaker 1: I feel nauseous. I can't see what's going on. Just
- 19:15Speaker 1: less trickiness. Just stay down where I can see the
- 19:18Speaker 1: whole thing. But, yeah, there was a number of times
- 19:20Speaker 1: when we were up there and suddenly we're down and
- 19:22Speaker 1: I didn't like that.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Well, we've only got one more to deal with. Then
- 19:26Speaker 3: we're home on Aussie soil.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Can't wait for that. That's good.
- 19:29Speaker 1: But, man. It'll be interesting to see because, as you know,
- 19:31Speaker 1: this four-match series will be decided, if necessary, on a countback.
- 19:37Speaker 1: So I wonder how important those goals that Australia brought back.
- 19:43Speaker 1: And I did like that, that there was no, you
- 19:45Speaker 1: can't take your foot off the pedal here. Yes, this
- 19:47Speaker 1: game is gone, but every little every bit you can
- 19:50Speaker 1: chip back away from it will be very important yep
- 19:53Speaker 1: may be very.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Important for you mentioned that in the post game interview
- 19:57Speaker 3: because oh that's the stuff they're thinking about but what
- 19:59Speaker 3: about also the rankings So the rankings can actually change
- 20:03Speaker 3: right before our eyes throughout this series, which you don't
- 20:06Speaker 3: often see. You normally see it shift after a big tournament.
- 20:10Speaker 3: But in the midst of a series, it's fascinating. So
- 20:12Speaker 3: I think Noeline Taroa said they had to win three
- 20:15Speaker 3: to level Australia on points. I don't even really know
- 20:17Speaker 3: how the point system works.
- 20:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:19Speaker 3: But if they win it, they clean sweep this. They
- 20:22Speaker 3: will jump Australia and be number one in the world. Yikes.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Wow.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Well, that's so good, though. Like, how exciting to be
- 20:30Speaker 1: tuning in to a game like that and that there
- 20:33Speaker 1: is more to come. And then when the Con Cup's over,
- 20:36Speaker 1: then we have a long, lovely summer where everyone goes
- 20:40Speaker 1: and gets their fake nails on for a few months.
- 20:42Speaker 2: But.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Super Netball Draw is out, and this was announced yesterday
- 20:48Speaker 1: on Nine. Now, dribblers, we know the netball's going to
- 20:51Speaker 1: free-to-air next year. We know that they don't have to
- 20:54Speaker 1: have it contractually on free-to-air after that. So our job
- 20:58Speaker 1: is to watch every single game and make sure that
- 21:01Speaker 1: Channel Nine goes, gee, this was the best decision I
- 21:04Speaker 1: ever made. Best decision I ever made was hiring Catherine
- 21:06Speaker 1: Cox for commentary. Second best decision I ever made, no
- 21:09Speaker 1: other way around. Best decision is getting the netball on free-to-air.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Second best decision is Catherine Cox back in commentary. So,
- 21:15Speaker 1: but we have a fixture. Round one starts on Saturday,
- 21:19Speaker 1: the 10th of April. Melbourne, this one's for you. The
- 21:22Speaker 1: very first game of round one is at 3pm on Saturday,
- 21:25Speaker 1: the 10th of April at John Kane Arena, Vixens Mavs.
- 21:30Speaker 3: That first round, the first thing I noticed is that
- 21:33Speaker 3: the second game on the Saturday is a 7pm game.
- 21:37Speaker 3: So we're normally used to a 3 o'clock and a
- 21:39Speaker 3: 5 o'clock game. Yeah. And there is a bit of
- 21:41Speaker 3: that splattered throughout this draw. Yeah. But the majority of
- 21:45Speaker 3: the games on a Saturday are 3 and 7pm.
- 21:50Speaker 1: So in fact, the 5pm ones are fever home games.
- 21:53Speaker 1: So they will be 7pm games here on the East Coast.
- 21:57Speaker 1: And I think that is a great response to some
- 22:01Speaker 1: feedback because we have a lot of people who would
- 22:03Speaker 1: like to go to the games who are still playing
- 22:06Speaker 1: in the afternoon. So the three o'clock games are obviously problematic,
- 22:09Speaker 1: but even the five o'clock games on a Saturday were
- 22:11Speaker 1: very problematic for a number of people. So it looks
- 22:14Speaker 1: like they have changed that. So the second game across
- 22:20Speaker 1: the entire season on a Saturday night is at 7pm
- 22:22Speaker 1: Eastern time, so 6.30pm. in South Australia, it'll be five
- 22:27Speaker 1: o'clock in WA. But some other interesting stuff that's happening here.
- 22:31Speaker 1: So round one, the home games are for Vixens, Swifts,
- 22:35Speaker 1: Lightning and Sirens. So, and then the following week, oh,
- 22:39Speaker 1: Vixens get another home game in round two, but the
- 22:41Speaker 1: following week we have Thunderbirds, Firebirds and Fever get their
- 22:45Speaker 1: turn at home. Mavs don't get their turn at home
- 22:49Speaker 1: until round three, but round one, they will be at
- 22:51Speaker 1: home because it's John Kane Arena there. So That's very exciting.
- 22:56Speaker 1: What else do we need to know about this fabulous draw?
- 22:59Speaker 1: Because we plan our holidays around it. We watch Channel 9.
- 23:04Speaker 1: We reward them for making the decision to support netball.
- 23:08Speaker 1: So what have we got? So we've got– oh, this
- 23:11Speaker 1: is riveting, Carolyn– state rivalry. So we have Firebirds and
- 23:17Speaker 1: Sunshine Coast Lightning set to meet on a Queensland derby
- 23:19Speaker 1: on Queensland Days Sunday the 6th of June– Two Anzac
- 23:24Speaker 1: Day clashes on Sunday the 25th of April, Lightning hosting
- 23:27Speaker 1: Vixens at UniSC and before West Coast Fever take on
- 23:31Speaker 1: the Swifts at RAC Arena. Oh, that sounds great. First
- 23:35Speaker 1: Nations round will return across two rounds in 2027, aligned
- 23:39Speaker 1: with National Reconciliation Week, round eight, and NAIDOC week in
- 23:42Speaker 1: round 13. So that scheduling will give every club the
- 23:45Speaker 1: opportunity to host a dedicated theme match. God, I hope
- 23:48Speaker 1: Liz gets on here soon. This is actually making me
- 23:50Speaker 1: feel there's something.
- 23:52Speaker 3: It's working. I feel like I've been. It's working.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Is it working?
- 23:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:55Speaker 1: What could possibly be working?
- 23:56Speaker 3: All your neck fat's going up and going down your jugular.
- 23:58Speaker 1: But isn't that just like when you put your bra on,
- 24:00Speaker 1: your boobs are here and then you take your bra
- 24:02Speaker 1: off and it's like they're back down to their natural position.
- 24:05Speaker 3: We'll find out soon enough.
- 24:07Speaker 1: But the Home and Away season concludes on Sunday, the
- 24:10Speaker 1: 11th of July, with the final series commencing the following week.
- 24:13Speaker 1: So the grand final is on the weekend of the
- 24:15Speaker 1: 31st of July. I assume it will be the Saturday night.
- 24:17Speaker 1: We don't currently know where that will be yet, but
- 24:19Speaker 1: so finals in the– 18th and the 25th and the 31st.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Well, this is interesting. But what's important to note there
- 24:28Speaker 3: is that gives a really good chunk of time to
- 24:31Speaker 3: the Australian Diamonds in preparation for the World Cup. So
- 24:34Speaker 3: it'll be just shy of a month they will get
- 24:36Speaker 3: for prep, which is also really important for them. They
- 24:39Speaker 3: might need a week or so rest, but then it's
- 24:41Speaker 3: going to be Straight into camp, I would imagine, for
- 24:43Speaker 3: the Diamonds at the end of that season.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I wonder what happens to the Silver Ferns then. So
- 24:48Speaker 1: their camp will be in New Zealand or will they
- 24:50Speaker 1: have their.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Oh, no, I would imagine they'd go home for a
- 24:53Speaker 3: while before they make their way over. Because the tournament
- 24:56Speaker 3: goes for such a long time as well– well, it's
- 24:59Speaker 3: not a long time, but you don't want to be
- 25:00Speaker 3: here forever. You'd come in at the– maybe, you know–
- 25:04Speaker 3: three or four days prior or a week, whatever they
- 25:06Speaker 3: decide to do. But they're not going to want to
- 25:08Speaker 3: be here for two or three weeks in the lead-up.
- 25:09Speaker 1: And that's interesting. So like a number of them, so
- 25:11Speaker 1: Maddy Gordon is moving to Perth, for instance. We would
- 25:14Speaker 1: assume that she will be in the starting Ferns line-up
- 25:16Speaker 1: for the World Cup. She certainly put her hand up
- 25:18Speaker 1: for it on last night. But so then it's like, well,
- 25:22Speaker 1: where's home for her? So she's over there for several months.
- 25:24Speaker 1: She moves over there and then she comes here. It's
- 25:26Speaker 1: like that's quite disruptive. Yeah.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Very good.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Major partner of the Super Netball that they've listed down
- 25:36Speaker 1: here on this press release is HCF. So it doesn't
- 25:38Speaker 1: seem like they have naming rights of the Super Netball,
- 25:42Speaker 1: but they are the major partner. So I'm interested to
- 25:45Speaker 1: know more about that.
- 25:45Speaker 3: But thanks, HCF.
- 25:46Speaker 1: You're big supporters of Netball and we appreciate you. Yeah,
- 25:52Speaker 1: this is going to be big, so we need to
- 25:56Speaker 1: get around that. We will talk more about the draw
- 25:59Speaker 1: in our Friday's ep, but let's have a little break
- 26:02Speaker 1: and come back and talk about, speaking of the Wild West,
- 26:05Speaker 1: someone very special to this podcast has done something quite
- 26:09Speaker 1: big on the weekend.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Hasn't she won?
- 26:10Speaker 2: Mm.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Have you spoken to Gordie?
- 26:24Speaker 3: I have been texting her. She said she's dead and
- 26:29Speaker 3: she's hungry.
- 26:30Speaker 1: She's dead and she's hungry. Well, she certainly deserves a
- 26:34Speaker 1: little feed. So I asked her to send Dribblers through
- 26:37Speaker 1: a message that we could play.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Do we need to tell everybody what she's been up
- 26:41Speaker 3: to though?
- 26:41Speaker 5: Yes.
- 26:41Speaker 3: If you haven't been following her on the socials, she
- 26:44Speaker 3: was involved in a charity ride that went from Perth
- 26:46Speaker 3: to Mandurah. And back. They stayed overnight in Mandurah just
- 26:51Speaker 3: to rest the sore bodies and come back. So how
- 26:53Speaker 3: many kilometres? Over 200 kilometres.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Yeah, kilometres in two days.
- 26:57Speaker 3: And let's keep in mind, Gordie's not a cyclist.
- 26:59Speaker 1: No, she hadn't been on a bike in 20 years.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Done a little bit of prep. When I saw, I
- 27:05Speaker 3: was watching all the videos as she was going, she
- 27:07Speaker 3: was doing check-ins. I think they were allowed to stop
- 27:09Speaker 3: every 20 kilometres or so. And they were getting funnier
- 27:12Speaker 3: and funnier and funnier. The chafing cream was out, all
- 27:15Speaker 3: the things. But I thought, my God, she would be exhausted.
- 27:19Speaker 3: And then when they got to Mandurah and had to
- 27:22Speaker 3: turn around knowing full well they were coming back, quite
- 27:24Speaker 3: a feat. They raised, I think, just shy of $ 9, 000
- 27:27Speaker 3: as a team.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Her team was one of the highest fundraisers and they
- 27:32Speaker 1: were raising funds for Cancer Research for a facility in
- 27:39Speaker 1: Western Australia, the name of which I have forgotten.
- 27:41Speaker 3: I apologise.
- 27:42Speaker 1: But, yeah, it's a big event to raise money for
- 27:45Speaker 1: a very good cause. And we're very proud of.
- 27:48Speaker 2: You, Gordie.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Very proud of you, Gordie. Shout out to the team.
- 27:51Speaker 3: The name is amazing. Lycra, what you see.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Yep, Lycra, what you see.
- 27:55Speaker 2: How good.
- 27:55Speaker 3: So should we have a listen and see if she's
- 27:57Speaker 3: alive or not?
- 27:58Speaker 1: Okay.
- 27:59Speaker 5: Hey No Dribble Crew, Sue Gordian here and just thought
- 28:02Speaker 5: I'd send a message to say a massive thanks to
- 28:07Speaker 5: all of the dribblers including Carolyn, Lizzie and Kath that
- 28:12Speaker 5: got behind me for the ride over the weekend. I'm
- 28:17Speaker 5: at home now and I'm sitting here and I genuinely
- 28:21Speaker 5: can't believe I just did what I did over the
- 28:24Speaker 5: last two days. So First and foremost, just, I guess,
- 28:28Speaker 5: personal satisfaction to do something that I didn't actually think
- 28:32Speaker 5: I was capable of. So I'm pretty stoked about that.
- 28:36Speaker 5: And I would be lying if I said it was easy.
- 28:38Speaker 4: It wasn't.
- 28:39Speaker 3: It had its moments.
- 28:41Speaker 5: But in those moments, I think probably the key thing
- 28:43Speaker 5: was you're just surrounded by so many incredible people that
- 28:46Speaker 5: just reminded you of why you were doing it, which
- 28:48Speaker 5: was to raise money for a great cause, which is
- 28:52Speaker 5: finding a money towards research for cancer. And I think
- 28:58Speaker 5: by the end of all of this, we'll have gone
- 29:00Speaker 5: close to nine, nine and a half million dollars as
- 29:02Speaker 5: a collective across 1700 riders. And I mean, I exceeded
- 29:06Speaker 5: my expectation in terms of the dollars raised. So I
- 29:09Speaker 5: just want to say huge thanks. And I think probably
- 29:14Speaker 5: my big message off the back of this is, and
- 29:17Speaker 5: you hear this from people all the time, and I
- 29:19Speaker 5: haven't really said this, or I haven't been in a
- 29:22Speaker 5: position to say this for some time, but you hear
- 29:24Speaker 5: these extraordinary people say you've just got to put your
- 29:26Speaker 5: mind to something and it's possible. Well, I think I
- 29:29Speaker 5: just did that on the weekend. The last thing I'll
- 29:33Speaker 5: say is that myself and my downstairs are going to
- 29:38Speaker 5: take a big deep breath for at least a week.
- 29:40Speaker 5: before I put on any underpants or anything over the
- 29:43Speaker 5: coming days. Honest to God, I stand by my message
- 29:46Speaker 5: a few weeks ago when I was on the podcast
- 29:48Speaker 5: and I talked about the fact that downstairs and the
- 29:51Speaker 5: bike seat, um, the relationship, it takes time. And I
- 29:57Speaker 5: just took a lot of time.
- 29:58Speaker 3: 200 kilometers. But anyhow, yeah, extraordinary.
- 30:02Speaker 4: So just once again, thanks, Dribblers.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Love your work.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Saw some of you along the way shouting out and
- 30:08Speaker 5: your messages that you flooded into me over the last
- 30:10Speaker 5: two days. Honestly, just spectacular. Thank you so much.
- 30:15Speaker 3: How good.
- 30:18Speaker 1: How good. And so in there we get, oh, Liz
- 30:21Speaker 1: Ellis is back.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Hi.
- 30:22Speaker 1: How are you? Hi.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Sorry I'm late.
- 30:26Speaker 3: We have loved, loved, loved the fact that your EV
- 30:32Speaker 3: just didn't play out for you today.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Well, it was a bit of this and a bit
- 30:36Speaker 4: of that. So I thought I knew I was going
- 30:38Speaker 4: to play hooky or chicken with can I do it
- 30:41Speaker 4: in one. And I had, I labbed myself about 20
- 30:44Speaker 4: minutes in case something I wasn't going to make it.
- 30:47Speaker 4: And I thought, this is so cool. Like I'll leave
- 30:49Speaker 4: Cooma in time. I had to go up there to
- 30:51Speaker 4: do an interview for something. I'll leave in time. I'll
- 30:54Speaker 4: be really cool. And then there was a car accident
- 30:56Speaker 4: on the highway and that smashed my time. And I thought, oh,
- 31:01Speaker 4: I'll get there. Narrator, I did not get there. So
- 31:03Speaker 4: had there not been a car accident, I wouldn't have
- 31:05Speaker 4: cared because I would have been like, oh, well, I'll
- 31:07Speaker 4: just you know, I don't have to worry about it,
- 31:09Speaker 4: but because I was trying to get back here on time,
- 31:10Speaker 4: I played chicken, I played chicken and I got very,
- 31:13Speaker 4: very close. And then I went, nah, I'm going to
- 31:15Speaker 4: charge it.
- 31:15Speaker 3: This might be a dumb question, but if you're stuck
- 31:17Speaker 3: in traffic and you're actually not moving, does the car
- 31:20Speaker 3: charge still go down?
- 31:22Speaker 4: Only just. And it wasn't that that killed me. It
- 31:24Speaker 4: was just that I thought I had enough time. I
- 31:27Speaker 4: had a buffer. I had a 15, 20 minute buffer
- 31:30Speaker 4: in case I needed to charge before I got back
- 31:33Speaker 4: to here. But yeah, The car accident smashed my buffer
- 31:36Speaker 4: and then some. So had I not had to charge,
- 31:38Speaker 4: I still would have been a little bit late, but
- 31:40Speaker 4: I had to charge. So now I'm a lot late.
- 31:41Speaker 4: So sorry, Kate.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Oh, but you look gorgeous.
- 31:43Speaker 1: You look amazing.
- 31:44Speaker 3: We're very excited to have you.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Oh, thanks. I'm really excited to be here. Stop it.
- 31:48Speaker 1: What are you doing? What?
- 31:51Speaker 3: No, she doesn't. See?
- 31:54Speaker 4: What?
- 31:55Speaker 2: What?
- 31:56Speaker 3: Does she look younger?
- 31:58Speaker 1: Gantry bought me this nonsense from Japan.
- 32:02Speaker 4: I'll be wearing it for the whole episode.
- 32:04Speaker 1: So it's like a face fryer thing and it's really
- 32:09Speaker 1: uncomfortable and I'm taking it off.
- 32:11Speaker 4: I need to have a go.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I can't believe that you said.
- 32:13Speaker 4: Does it give you a facelift?
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yes.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Didn't you notice how perky she looked? What do you
- 32:18Speaker 3: mean perky? Perky.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Miserable.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:22Speaker 5: Oh, fuck.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Let the jowls fly free.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Oh, I probably need that. I've got a few jowls
- 32:29Speaker 4: in my old age.
- 32:30Speaker 1: It can't possibly work though, right? What is it?
- 32:33Speaker 4: Like you said, is it just like a, like it's
- 32:36Speaker 4: not chemical, it's just physical. It just holds your jowls up.
- 32:39Speaker 4: It's just physical. I probably need to do that. Do
- 32:42Speaker 4: you know, I had a photographer tell me recently, because
- 32:45Speaker 4: of my jowls, because I'm getting old, To, rather than
- 32:49Speaker 4: smile like that, to smile up and pretend you're smiling
- 32:51Speaker 4: up and over the Harbour Bridge. So you're making your
- 32:53Speaker 4: neck a Harbour Bridge.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Oh, that's good to know. So one thing I learned from.
- 32:57Speaker 4: I don't know which is fine until someone looks at
- 32:58Speaker 4: you from the side and you look like a tortoise
- 33:00Speaker 4: with your neck out.
- 33:03Speaker 1: That showed the summer I turned pretty. It's tiny.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Isn't it?
- 33:06Speaker 3: It feels like you've done the mumps. It actually makes me... Like,
- 33:12Speaker 3: I feel like I'm going to vomit. Was it right
- 33:13Speaker 3: on your jugular? Yes. Oh.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Oh, the mugs.
- 33:19Speaker 1: So, Liz, something that you've missed here. That's what I
- 33:22Speaker 1: was going to say. Summer, I turned pretty. I learnt
- 33:24Speaker 1: that in a photo, if you say.
- 33:25Speaker 4: Prunes, it gives you prunes.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Prunes. Prunes.
- 33:30Speaker 1: This is like a face trainer. Face trainer?
- 33:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Catherine, just how much fun did you have buying this stuff?
- 33:42Speaker 3: Oh, so much. I could have bought the whole of
- 33:43Speaker 3: Japan back. And this is our personal favourites that I
- 33:47Speaker 3: sent you the photo of.
- 33:49Speaker 4: Do you know I made the mistake when you sent
- 33:51Speaker 4: me that photo, I made the mistake of Googling?
- 33:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:54Speaker 4: I went down a rabbit hole.
- 33:57Speaker 3: To quote what it says on the back of the packet,
- 33:58Speaker 3: what was this good for?
- 33:59Speaker 1: It's for office work and wet jobs. Mm-hmm.
- 34:03Speaker 4: I think I went down the wet jobs rabbit hole.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Yeah, well, we've got a packet here if you'd like
- 34:07Speaker 3: me to send you some.
- 34:08Speaker 1: So while Gordie was telling us about her race on
- 34:11Speaker 1: the weekend, I thought, well, I'll use this time wisely
- 34:14Speaker 1: to do some face training. And then you came on
- 34:16Speaker 1: and I did say I would go to wear that
- 34:19Speaker 1: ridiculous jaw thing and we'll see how long it would
- 34:22Speaker 1: take you to say something.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
- 34:25Speaker 1: It's like having my daughter here.
- 34:27Speaker 3: I can't believe. Do you want to know what you're
- 34:29Speaker 3: going to do? Oh, yeah, I am the ultimate Labrador.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I can't believe you've had that on that whole time.
- 34:34Speaker 3: That made me feel sick. Anyway, Elizabeth, we missed you.
- 34:38Speaker 4: We did miss you.
- 34:38Speaker 3: We finished this episode, though.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Oh, great.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Do you want to know what we've talked about? I'll
- 34:44Speaker 1: give you a bit of a summary. We've talked about
- 34:46Speaker 1: the merch being in Rebel. We've talked about the new
- 34:48Speaker 1: Super Netball draw. We've talked about, I don't know whether
- 34:51Speaker 1: you noticed, there was a Diamonds match on yesterday. We
- 34:53Speaker 1: talked a bit about Georgie Horges being a goddamn legend.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Georgie Horges was fantastic. And did your fans? girl, Jessie
- 35:00Speaker 4: as well.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Jessie was outstanding. She has got a very, very long future.
- 35:07Speaker 3: She'll play 100 games for Australia. Mark my words, big statement.
- 35:10Speaker 4: And do you know, I mean, I know you've probably
- 35:12Speaker 4: already talked about this, but I had this conversation with
- 35:14Speaker 4: somebody this morning at the thing that I was at
- 35:16Speaker 4: that I know that we don't have enough contracts for
- 35:19Speaker 4: Australian players, but the benefit of having international players in
- 35:23Speaker 4: Super Netball is that Jessie goes out there and goes,
- 35:26Speaker 4: I've seen you before. I know what you do. I
- 35:28Speaker 4: know what you're up to. And she did.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Yeah, killed it. She was outstanding.
- 35:33Speaker 1: And we did talk about that and we said it's
- 35:34Speaker 1: been a long time since Australia has won against the
- 35:37Speaker 1: Silver Ferns in New Zealand. So this is not some
- 35:40Speaker 1: type of massive crisis that's a result of there being
- 35:44Speaker 1: international players here. But what I saw was a higher
- 35:47Speaker 1: standard of game, which was very exciting.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Okay, well, that is actually all we've got.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Time for today. Don't take it personally.
- 35:57Speaker 1: You're here now. Will you please stay with us for Friday?
- 36:00Speaker 1: Will you please not go anywhere in your electric vehicle
- 36:04Speaker 1: and help us record? Fantastic. Well, yes, we will be
- 36:08Speaker 1: back on Wednesday. Thanks for joining us. My name's Carolyn Swindell.
- 36:11Speaker 3: We'll be back on Friday too.
- 36:12Speaker 4: Friday. And I'm Kat Cox. And I'm Liz Ellis. It's
- 36:16Speaker 4: been great to be with you for five minutes.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Bye.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Bye.
