- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another episode? Luna: Absolutely! I loved describing trees last time. Now I can say a tree is tall or green. That was fun. Lucas: Good. Today we're going to learn something you use every single day — time of day words. Morning, afternoon, evening, night. Luna: Oh, that's perfect. I always want to say good morning to my neighbour but I don't know how. Lucas: We'll get there. First, let's learn the word for morning. In Telugu, morning is ఉదయం. Luna: ఉదయం. Lucas: Yes! Again. Luna: ఉదయం. Lucas: Now, good morning is శుభోదయం. It's a greeting. Luna: శుభోదయం. That sounds beautiful. Lucas: It is. So if you meet someone in the morning, you say శుభోదయం. Luna: శుభోదయం. Got it. Lucas: Next, afternoon. Afternoon is మధ్యాహ్నం. Luna: మధ్యాహ్నం. That's a bit longer. Lucas: మధ్యాహ్నం. Take it slow. Luna: మధ్యాహ్నం. Lucas: Good. Now evening. Evening is సాయంత్రం. Luna: సాయంత్రం. That's pretty. Lucas: సాయంత్రం. And night is రాత్రి. Luna: రాత్రి. Short and sweet. Lucas: Exactly. And good night is శుభరాత్రి. Like good morning, but for night. Luna: శుభరాత్రి. So I can say శుభోదయం in the morning and శుభరాత్రి at night. Lucas: That's right. Let's practice a little scene. Imagine you see your friend in the morning. What do you say? Luna: శుభోదయం! Lucas: Perfect. And then at night, when you leave, you say? Luna: శుభరాత్రి. Lucas: Nailed it. Now, let's put all four words together in a sentence. 'Morning, afternoon, evening, night' — you can say Luna: That's like a whole day in four words. Lucas: It is. And you can use them to talk about your day. For example, నేను ఉదయం లేచాను — I woke up in the morning. That's a lot of new words! Lucas: But you already know ఉదయం. So it's just adding a couple more. And don't worry — we'll practice. Luna: Okay. So if I want to say I eat lunch in the afternoon, how would that go? Lucas: You would say But let's keep it simple for now. Just focus on the time words. Luna: Right. Lucas: You've got them. Let's do a quick review. What's morning? Luna: ఉదయం. Lucas: Afternoon? Luna: మధ్యాహ్నం. Lucas: Evening? Luna: సాయంత్రం. Lucas: Night? Luna: రాత్రి. Lucas: Excellent. And the greetings — good morning? Luna: శుభోదయం. Lucas: Good night? Luna: శుభరాత్రి. Lucas: You're a natural. I'll say a time of day in English, and you say it in Telugu. Ready? Luna: Ready. Lucas: Evening. Luna: సాయంత్రం. Lucas: Morning. Luna: ఉదయం. Lucas: Night. Luna: రాత్రి. Lucas: Afternoon. Luna: మధ్యాహ్నం. Lucas: Perfect. So now you can greet people at any time of day. Start using these with your Telugu-speaking friends. Luna: I will. I'm going to say శుభోదయం to my neighbour tomorrow. Lucas: Do it. And if they say something back, you'll know what they mean. Well, that's all for today. Luna: Thanks Lucas! This was really helpful. See you next time. Lucas: Bye for now. Practice these, and we'll be back with more Telugu soon.
